- 0:00Speaker 1: Alex, Hey, what's going on? How you doing? Brother?
- 0:05Speaker 2: Uh? He called me late at night, so no camera today,
- 0:07Speaker 2: but I will tell you this. Do you guys know,
- 0:10Speaker 2: I'm so excited to be on with you. By the way, Julian,
- 0:12Speaker 2: it's going to be on your platform tonight.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Thanks bro.
- 0:15Speaker 3: I mean I should have thown you soon and I
- 0:17Speaker 3: would have gave you more notice. But it was always
- 0:19Speaker 3: gonna be a late show because I do post games
- 0:21Speaker 3: after the games sometimes, so I'll be hobbing in the
- 0:25Speaker 3: next couple. Maybe we could plan a better one so
- 0:27Speaker 3: we can get you on the camera. But everyone knows
- 0:29Speaker 3: who look like so it's cool. Yeah, I appreciate you
- 0:32Speaker 3: going on.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Oh no, no worries. Well I have I have thought
- 0:36Speaker 2: about this whole game tonight before joining because for your listeners,
- 0:41Speaker 2: you may not know. This is actually the thirty second
- 0:43Speaker 2: anniversary of the Joe Carter game winning a home run
- 0:47Speaker 2: to win the World Series. And how about how fitting
- 0:49Speaker 2: is it? Thirty two years later they win their first
- 0:51Speaker 2: World Series game since that night, So it's kind of
- 0:54Speaker 2: a that's full circle for a moment, but there's still
- 0:57Speaker 2: a lot to go, and you know, do we think
- 1:00Speaker 2: six year I don't think they're gonna sweep the Dodgers,
- 1:03Speaker 2: maybe five or six.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Though no, I'm still thinking Dodgers could get it one.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Like my baseball mind is ruined for Toronto. I explain
- 1:11Speaker 3: my part of my reasons why I actually did some
- 1:14Speaker 3: of the full circles stuff with Joe Carter the Expos
- 1:16Speaker 3: flatty like I'm getting into like this whole long winter
- 1:18Speaker 3: to day with Don Madding. We like it's all coming
- 1:20Speaker 3: together and it's actually the perfect time for you. So
- 1:23Speaker 3: I was talking about ninety four, how it could have
- 1:25Speaker 3: been a shop for the Expos to win the World Series.
- 1:27Speaker 3: There was definitely the best team in the league that year,
- 1:30Speaker 3: and then Don manningly on the other side, the Yankees
- 1:32Speaker 3: were the best team in the American League. So we
- 1:34Speaker 3: very well could have had a Yankees Expos World Series
- 1:36Speaker 3: in nineteen ninety four, and that would have been crazy
- 1:39Speaker 3: for millions different reasons. That could have changed baseball history
- 1:42Speaker 3: because A it could have either gotten Maddingly a Rig
- 1:45Speaker 3: as a player, or b it could have saved baseball
- 1:47Speaker 3: Montreal because of the Expos. When that World Series ends
- 1:50Speaker 3: up being the revenue they need, the team doesn't lose money,
- 1:52Speaker 3: then they ends up keeping their players and they ends
- 1:55Speaker 3: up probably staying in Montreal because they would have had
- 1:57Speaker 3: a World Series championship, so it's.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Been harder to move then.
- 2:01Speaker 3: So I just that lockout was just extremely unfortunate and
- 2:05Speaker 3: really poorly timed, and it's really upsetting. Now it's one
- 2:08Speaker 3: of the birdsonother lockout after a twenty twenty sixth season.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no, I mean we are looking at that lockout.
- 2:15Speaker 2: But I'll tell you I don't know. You know, David Cohne,
- 2:19Speaker 2: he was very pivotal in that ninety four strike. He
- 2:22Speaker 2: tried to get the deal going. The league wouldn't listen,
- 2:24Speaker 2: but he played such a role in trying to avoid
- 2:27Speaker 2: that strike. I gotta give him credit for that and
- 2:30Speaker 2: really being a player's player, you know, he really advocated
- 2:33Speaker 2: in ninety four. But yeah, that is interesting because obviously
- 2:37Speaker 2: the expos tragic, although I mean, in a way, you
- 2:41Speaker 2: could consider what happened in twenty nineteen their victory also
- 2:45Speaker 2: because that's did be were the offset of the expos,
- 2:51Speaker 2: if you will, So there's a bit of that too,
- 2:54Speaker 2: But I get your point. And of course Flag Carrero.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Now yes, that's the third layer of this.
- 3:00Speaker 2: A lot of y indie fans, and I included always
- 3:04Speaker 2: think Glad Junior talks a lot, chirps a lot, if
- 3:08Speaker 2: you will, but he's a very talented guy.
- 3:11Speaker 1: He is.
- 3:12Speaker 2: There's a reason they locked him up for fourteen years
- 3:15Speaker 2: up in Toronto. They signed him fourteen years for a
- 3:17Speaker 2: good reason. And I think he's one of the energizers
- 3:20Speaker 2: of that team, there's no doubt about it. But I
- 3:22Speaker 2: know that you want to tell the story about Glad
- 3:24Speaker 2: because and maybe I missed that part, but.
- 3:27Speaker 3: No, I didn't fully get into it yet that might
- 3:29Speaker 3: were actually get into that now.
- 3:30Speaker 1: That was like my third layer this.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I went down the rabbit hole of like ninety four Montreal, Toronto,
- 3:35Speaker 3: the Walkout Man, and we now were at the point.
- 3:37Speaker 1: With the Vladdies. So the Guerrero's for lack of a
- 3:40Speaker 1: better terms, so go ahead.
- 3:43Speaker 2: But before we get there, I mean, I don't know
- 3:45Speaker 2: if you saw this. They were a Dalton of our show.
- 3:48Speaker 2: His father played with a Dulton on let me See
- 3:52Speaker 2: Baseballer had this great.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't know.
- 3:58Speaker 3: You know what's funny, I didn't know varshows they're played
- 4:00Speaker 3: until recently. I think I may have like briefly faitn
- 4:03Speaker 3: doing that, but then like I didn't like fully ungrasp that.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Can we just say this, This Blue Jay team has
- 4:08Speaker 2: been a long time coming. Look, I know last year
- 4:11Speaker 2: they finished him last, but I've always thought their lineup
- 4:14Speaker 2: is one of the best in the Al East overall
- 4:17Speaker 2: and in the American League overall. They always tried out Guerrero,
- 4:21Speaker 2: but shit, I mean they had Bautista, they had all
- 4:23Speaker 2: these uh Kevin I'm his other name, but they always
- 4:27Speaker 2: had these guys.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Kevin Pillar was actually talking a lot about the series
- 4:31Speaker 3: and he actually thinks the Blue Jays are gonna win
- 4:33Speaker 3: it all. So and he did spend some time with
- 4:35Speaker 3: the Dodgers, so I think that was noteworthy to see
- 4:38Speaker 3: from him.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Well yeah, and I'm just saying all these these lineups
- 4:43Speaker 2: have always been solid for Toronto, no matter what year.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I remember, this was a Toronto team that could barely
- 4:49Speaker 2: sell out the SkyDome and it would really only be
- 4:52Speaker 2: filled up with the Yanks, rup there a Red Sox
- 4:55Speaker 2: team or whatever else. I also remember they were struggling,
- 4:58Speaker 2: remember the Catalanado days where they just it was a
- 5:01Speaker 2: rough stretch for the Toronto Blue Jays, and they had
- 5:04Speaker 2: some really good talent. They had Vernon Wells Catalinado, I
- 5:07Speaker 2: can go on and on about.
- 5:08Speaker 3: The Remember Carlo Stellato was one of my favorite players.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Remember the catcher at the time.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Roy Halladay.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Obviously Roy Halliday one of the best pitchers we ever
- 5:21Speaker 3: got to see throw the ball, so he was obviously well.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and and you know, just it was. Uh, it
- 5:29Speaker 2: was a rough stretch because the Yanks would always beat
- 5:30Speaker 2: up on them a little bit over the years. But
- 5:34Speaker 2: but twenty fifteen they changed the corner. Then all of
- 5:38Speaker 2: a sudden, Uh, they have that influx of Guerrero and
- 5:42Speaker 2: Bashett and those two alone have been cornerstones to a
- 5:45Speaker 2: lineup that now has you know, an Adulton verse show
- 5:49Speaker 2: if you will. Alejandro Kirk, I mean, what what a
- 5:53Speaker 2: postseason he's had. And people don't really talking about him,
- 5:56Speaker 2: but he had that big series against the Yanks. He
- 5:58Speaker 2: had Tonight's big two homer. And by the way, Julian,
- 6:01Speaker 2: we were talking about this off air, did tonight's Game one.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Joe Davis makes him really he's doing good, but he
- 6:08Speaker 2: makes some really odd comments, like he said tonight's Game
- 6:12Speaker 2: one reminded him of the opening game versus or maybe
- 6:15Speaker 2: smallst of that versus the Mariners. I'm like, Noah, didn't
- 6:18Speaker 2: it remind me of Game one of the Alds. Okay,
- 6:21Speaker 2: they shut down the Yanks hitting and then all of
- 6:24Speaker 2: a sudden they explode for that for all those runs
- 6:28Speaker 2: and in Game one, and they didn't look back. So
- 6:30Speaker 2: I mean, this is looking like a blueprint for Game one.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Now people are saying, well, they've just exposed the weaknesses
- 6:37Speaker 2: of the Dodgers. And by the way, I keep talking here, Julian,
- 6:41Speaker 2: because I'm fired up, I'm sure you are as well. Yeah,
- 6:45Speaker 2: Blake Snell, does that not give you reminders of what
- 6:48Speaker 2: happened in twenty twenty when Kevin Cash pulled him against
- 6:51Speaker 2: the Dodgers as a member of the Rays team and
- 6:54Speaker 2: the Dodgers take advantage.
- 6:55Speaker 3: I mean, the only issue, only saying, I'll say it
- 7:00Speaker 3: was different was that Snell was not in command tonight
- 7:03Speaker 3: like he was that night. He Roberts tried to stretch
- 7:07Speaker 3: Snell as long as he could, but like your similar analogies,
- 7:10Speaker 3: that the bullpens both imploded. So I can I can
- 7:13Speaker 3: understand that part of it. I think Blake Snell was
- 7:15Speaker 3: due for a bad start, I really do. I'm not
- 7:18Speaker 3: shocked the Blue Jays one tonight. I'm shocked by how
- 7:21Speaker 3: much they won by Like I'm not. I couldn't. There
- 7:24Speaker 3: was definitely many passes bue Jays to win, but I
- 7:26Speaker 3: didn't see an eleven to four blowout coming.
- 7:29Speaker 2: And you know it's great. It wasn't just a black girl,
- 7:33Speaker 2: it was an Addison Burger pinchick.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the thing. I mean, that's history right there.
- 7:40Speaker 3: It was never happened in the World Series before a pinchick.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Ranselam Let's on left too, like Schneider, I mean, Roberts
- 7:46Speaker 3: tried to out dule Schneider in the box. David Schneider
- 7:49Speaker 3: got pinched and the manager and he failed miserably there.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Bondo was awful and like I talked about before, BESSI yeah,
- 7:57Speaker 3: losing Vessie as a tough blow. I feel terribly foreign
- 8:00Speaker 3: him in the whole situation, whatever it is. But like,
- 8:02Speaker 3: that's gonna really hurt their bullpen because their bullpen stinks.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Let's just call Spade and Spade, their bullpen is bad.
- 8:07Speaker 2: The only guy you trust looking into Sasaki to help
- 8:11Speaker 2: him get the next couple of games here. So and
- 8:14Speaker 2: that's a rookie right there. So that's that's interesting. Now,
- 8:18Speaker 2: I want to make this point.
- 8:21Speaker 3: The only guy I trust that that bullpen is Sasaki
- 8:24Speaker 3: though even as a rookie. He's the only guy I
- 8:26Speaker 3: trust in the Dodgers bullpen right now, and that's a problem.
- 8:28Speaker 3: He's literally the only dude I feel good about coming
- 8:31Speaker 3: out of the Dodgers bullpen.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Yeah no, I mean I know trying as well.
- 8:36Speaker 3: I don't trust him at all. I can see the
- 8:37Speaker 3: Blue Jays rocking when he comes in. He's also up
- 8:40Speaker 3: there too. He's been around for a while now.
- 8:42Speaker 2: And the other thing is when we see Kershaw, I
- 8:46Speaker 2: think he's gonna pitch at some point.
- 8:48Speaker 3: He might get lit up too. Honestly, he might be
- 8:51Speaker 3: food for the Blue Jay. It's like we don't know.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Maybe he'll spin back one more, but like we know
- 8:55Speaker 3: his postseason struggles and only that goes down that rabbit hole,
- 8:58Speaker 3: and he's really at the end now, holding onwards dear life.
- 9:01Speaker 3: So he did pitch wells in the regular season, but
- 9:04Speaker 3: he has not sown much in the playoffs, and actually
- 9:08Speaker 3: has he appeared in the postseasons, and he got an
- 9:09Speaker 3: appearance against the Trying He was off the DS roster
- 9:15Speaker 3: to he go, and I gotta look at this now,
- 9:17Speaker 3: let me just check.
- 9:18Speaker 2: I want to make sure as you're checking, I want to.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I want to Yeah, go ahead, my bag, go ahead.
- 9:23Speaker 2: The fact that a lot of our Yank universe is
- 9:26Speaker 2: anti anti Bluejays. Meanwhile, I look at it as look,
- 9:33Speaker 2: let me check the Dodgers, and I'm gonna say, fat
- 9:36Speaker 2: out embarrassed the Inks in their home field in Game five.
- 9:40Speaker 2: And I don't think I can root for a Dodger
- 9:44Speaker 2: too to repeat, because there's a legacy thing here where
- 9:47Speaker 2: the Yankees still are the only team.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And it really a racing time.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Yeah, to do back to back, and I would love
- 9:54Speaker 2: it for the Yanks to keep that title.
- 9:56Speaker 3: That's literally the only thing they have left to keep
- 9:59Speaker 3: at this point by the legas everything else is gone,
- 10:01Speaker 3: all no styalgia is gone. They haven't won fifteen to
- 10:03Speaker 3: sixteen years. Like the way we used to think of
- 10:06Speaker 3: the Yankees is very close to dead. So that would
- 10:08Speaker 3: be the last pillar to knock it off, honestly, Like,
- 10:11Speaker 3: this is not the Yankees we grew up with at all.
- 10:14Speaker 2: And it's crazy because next year we're gonna start celebrating
- 10:16Speaker 2: thirty years of all these teams, so that's gonna be
- 10:20Speaker 2: interesting in ninety six. Yeah, so we'll have to see.
- 10:25Speaker 2: But no, I just it would be nice if the
- 10:27Speaker 2: Jays did that. And also Donnie Baseball. I mean, people
- 10:32Speaker 2: who are true Yankee fans know the journey of Don
- 10:35Speaker 2: Don Mattingly.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know as well as I showed because
- 10:38Speaker 3: it was a lot before my time, but like I
- 10:40Speaker 3: understand most of it.
- 10:42Speaker 2: And well just as struggles trying to, you know, get
- 10:46Speaker 2: to the managerial role. I had forgotten you with Yankee
- 10:49Speaker 2: hitting coach from four to seven as well.
- 10:52Speaker 3: That feels Florence in me. I don't even remember that,
- 10:54Speaker 3: to be honest with you.
- 10:55Speaker 2: And then I I of course actually interacted with him
- 10:58Speaker 2: when he was the Marlins man the week that I
- 11:02Speaker 2: think Jeter had something that went down with the team
- 11:07Speaker 2: in the Marlins and was stanton. Anyway, Don had a
- 11:11Speaker 2: even nice to talk to, like he's just.
- 11:14Speaker 1: He's yeah.
- 11:16Speaker 2: So I would be excited for him to win it.
- 11:18Speaker 2: And plus I said this on Facebook. I said, uh,
- 11:24Speaker 2: Gary Thorn when he had that, Homer said, hang on
- 11:27Speaker 2: to the roof. Now there's literally a roof over this
- 11:31Speaker 2: world series and it was rocket. I mean, you talk
- 11:36Speaker 2: about the energy. I wish he and by the way
- 11:39Speaker 2: the wild Card series against the Red Sox was the
- 11:41Speaker 2: most energy I felt in a Yankee postseason, and we
- 11:44Speaker 2: won a championship in that building. But this past uh
- 11:48Speaker 2: Wildcard against the Red Sox was electric, like there.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Was were there.
- 11:53Speaker 2: We were there the night they clinched it, and I
- 11:54Speaker 2: just felt that in the ballpark that night.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I was traveling, but it looked cool.
- 12:00Speaker 2: But we don't get that often, you know what.
- 12:02Speaker 1: I mean, I don't.
- 12:03Speaker 3: It's not like the old stadium, like oh nine, we
- 12:05Speaker 3: have some cool runs. Like I'll tell you the best
- 12:07Speaker 3: time I felt the energy in that stadium. It was
- 12:10Speaker 3: twenty seventeen when the Yankees were down twelve against the
- 12:13Speaker 3: Astros and they won Game three. And then the time
- 12:16Speaker 3: when they came back against Cleveland when Greg Bird hit
- 12:19Speaker 3: the homer.
- 12:20Speaker 2: About seventeen Wildcard game against the Twins.
- 12:22Speaker 1: On that one too, that one too.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Actually, I feel like the twenty seventeen time was when
- 12:27Speaker 3: I felt the highest energy levels in that stadium. That's
- 12:29Speaker 3: when I felt it when I was there. But I
- 12:32Speaker 3: was not there for Boston full discretion, So maybe you're right.
- 12:35Speaker 3: The twenty seventeen run to me was the one because
- 12:38Speaker 3: like that was a team that under overachieved. That's the
- 12:41Speaker 3: only Yankees team that really overachieved, and the it's not
- 12:45Speaker 3: the Boone ever.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Actually, I'm sorry.
- 12:47Speaker 3: That's the only Yankees team in recent memory that's actually
- 12:50Speaker 3: overachieved in my opinion for the most No, no, no,
- 12:54Speaker 3: it was Girardi's ending. It was Girardi's ending.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Seventeen.
- 12:58Speaker 3: You can make an argument day over each, even the
- 13:00Speaker 3: twenty nineteen with all the injuries. But other than that,
- 13:02Speaker 3: this Yankees team has not my expectations. They have not
- 13:05Speaker 3: over achieves at all. Maybe nineteen with all the injuries,
- 13:08Speaker 3: and seventeen when you're already I felt the best energy
- 13:10Speaker 3: in seventeen. That's just me personally. But I was not
- 13:15Speaker 3: there this year, so maybe a top that.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Oh it did? I mean, you had Boston sucks chance
- 13:20Speaker 2: going out?
- 13:20Speaker 1: Well, it is Boston, Yeah, it's true.
- 13:23Speaker 2: It felt it felt good.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I'll take you were for it.
- 13:26Speaker 2: We hadn't won a postseason series against the Red Sox
- 13:29Speaker 2: in twenty two years.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Which is actually absurd, but like that's a whole nother
- 13:33Speaker 3: problem anyway.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I mean, look, and I still think Boom won one
- 13:40Speaker 2: hundred games his first three years for a reason, which
- 13:43Speaker 2: is as he stuck with his gut, Like I'll always
- 13:45Speaker 2: say that. I think that's why they won one hundred.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Quite a roster in twenty nineteen.
- 13:50Speaker 3: He was good. He was really good in twenty nineteen.
- 13:53Speaker 3: That was the best job I thought he did.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Because Game way, I'll never get the Djyu's homer and
- 14:00Speaker 2: I'm like, all right, we're going to the World Series again,
- 14:03Speaker 2: and then.
- 14:03Speaker 3: All of a sudden, the only thing is that Game
- 14:06Speaker 3: seven would have been cold against the weak several Reno
- 14:08Speaker 3: So I'm not even sure if they would have wont that,
- 14:10Speaker 3: to be honest with you, like you, if you if
- 14:12Speaker 3: you wanted to like put yourself, if you wanted to
- 14:14Speaker 3: go down that rabbit hole, if they would have gone there,
- 14:17Speaker 3: But you never know. It's a game seven. They were
- 14:19Speaker 3: a fourth to seven. It would have been a big win.
- 14:21Speaker 3: So let's go back to the whole Guerrero dynamic, because
- 14:25Speaker 3: I find the Guerrero dynamic very interesting.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Here.
- 14:28Speaker 3: I'm not gonna say it's underrated because it's being talked about,
- 14:30Speaker 3: but like I feel like it's not being talked about
- 14:32Speaker 3: enough because you will get what Vladimir Guerrero seniors did,
- 14:36Speaker 3: and he was one of the best players in the league,
- 14:39Speaker 3: his Hall of Fame player. The guy can hit any ball,
- 14:41Speaker 3: doesn't matter where it was thrown. He was like the
- 14:44Speaker 3: face of the Expos too. And that's why, Like when
- 14:46Speaker 3: I was a kid, I like thought the Expos were
- 14:48Speaker 3: cool because I like their designs, Like they played in
- 14:51Speaker 3: this dome in Montreal, like it's in Canada. Like Vlady
- 14:53Speaker 3: Guerrero is like a Spanish legend playing in Quebec. Like
- 14:57Speaker 3: he's one of the best hitters you'll ever see. He
- 15:00Speaker 3: his rocket arm and right field like he did he
- 15:03Speaker 3: quit so many things well on the fields. And then
- 15:06Speaker 3: I got to meet Vladdie when I was sixteen. I
- 15:10Speaker 3: went to Anaheim. They were doing with some type of
- 15:12Speaker 3: pictures today for fans, so I met him. Tory Hunter
- 15:16Speaker 3: Mark to Sharon and k Rod. So I have a
- 15:19Speaker 3: picture of Laddie I posted recently, and I was like,
- 15:21Speaker 3: I'm rooting for Vladdy's son to win the World Series.
- 15:24Speaker 3: I want to see him get the ring for his
- 15:26Speaker 3: father because like he says, he's gonna give the ring
- 15:29Speaker 3: to the father. And the fact that Laddie Junior is
- 15:31Speaker 3: even coming close is following the footsteps and making his
- 15:34Speaker 3: own paths, like really incredible to me because think about
- 15:38Speaker 3: how many players have failed in similar situations that Vladd
- 15:41Speaker 3: Junior finds himself in. Most of those guys don't turn
- 15:44Speaker 3: out to be nearly as good. I mean, there are
- 15:46Speaker 3: some good father son duos, don't get me wrong, but like,
- 15:49Speaker 3: this could be one of the best we've ever seen
- 15:51Speaker 3: in MLB history, rivaling the Bondses and rival in the Griffies.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Probably it's kind of a sad we didn't get to
- 15:59Speaker 2: see them on the same field. But I'll tell you,
- 16:04Speaker 2: I just remember when he was coming up Plat Girl
- 16:07Speaker 2: Junior just so clutch, And that's why you don't really
- 16:10Speaker 2: like him, because he actually has that clutch, arrogant thing
- 16:14Speaker 2: about him. But also, I'm sure you might get to
- 16:16Speaker 2: know him. He's probably a decent guy beyond all that.
- 16:19Speaker 3: I haven't gone to yet, but I'm looking forward to
- 16:22Speaker 3: it hopefully next year. I've heard good things about him
- 16:25Speaker 3: and know his English is getting a little bit better,
- 16:27Speaker 3: so like it might be easier for me to speak
- 16:29Speaker 3: to him, and I'm gonna try to get better as bad.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I'll never forget he would hit the ball with knee
- 16:36Speaker 2: on the ground.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I used to love watching his highlights I really did.
- 16:40Speaker 2: And the other way you wouldn't think about it, right,
- 16:44Speaker 2: he'd go he try get underneath the ball, and somehow
- 16:47Speaker 2: he went the other way for a homer. It was
- 16:49Speaker 2: like how did he do that? You know?
- 16:51Speaker 3: He was incredible, man, Like I'm upset he never won
- 16:54Speaker 3: the World Series ring either, honestly, So this is the
- 16:57Speaker 3: closest he can come to getting one, and I I
- 17:00Speaker 3: just want to see that on the fields, like the
- 17:02Speaker 3: celebration with the father and his song everything, like that's
- 17:05Speaker 3: like legacy stuff right there. And then like you look
- 17:08Speaker 3: at the hometown's making the Republic going crazy. When Bladdie
- 17:11Speaker 3: got to the World Series, they were going nuts, like
- 17:13Speaker 3: barely Eddie lights out over there, like everyone's still rallying
- 17:16Speaker 3: watching the baseball game and that's what they love down there.
- 17:20Speaker 3: So like they really galvanized three countries if you think
- 17:23Speaker 3: about it as dr Kid in the US, because Gladdie
- 17:25Speaker 3: was in the Angels who obviously, and then he ended
- 17:27Speaker 3: with the Rangers.
- 17:28Speaker 1: So like, I just think it's a crazy situation.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Like he's so happy for his son too, and like
- 17:35Speaker 3: to see it all coming fruition, like how they thought
- 17:37Speaker 3: it was absolutely crazy because like, yeah, if Laddie Junior
- 17:40Speaker 3: was extremely gifted automatically, but like it's not like he
- 17:44Speaker 3: didn't work cards to get to where he is at,
- 17:46Speaker 3: Like he works extremely hard to make his own legacy.
- 17:49Speaker 3: And the fact that he's hitting all these homers in
- 17:51Speaker 3: the playoffs and the fact that he's the craziest stat
- 17:54Speaker 3: I heard tonight was that he's hit six home runs
- 17:57Speaker 3: he struck out three times in the postseason amazing. I
- 18:02Speaker 3: I can't believe that's I can't even believe that's real.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I'm sure Schlittler might strikeout, struck out.
- 18:09Speaker 3: I don't know who did who ever did his picture
- 18:11Speaker 3: really well? I mean it's almost like and almost it's
- 18:15Speaker 3: like Joe Tubolgio stuff right there, Like that's what.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Route stuff too. Yeah, yeah, six and then three homers.
- 18:25Speaker 3: That that's what I'm still in I'm still in disbelief
- 18:29Speaker 3: that that took place. And I don't even know if
- 18:31Speaker 3: baby never did that, especially in the postseason game. That's
- 18:34Speaker 3: probably the best performance of all time in the playoffs.
- 18:38Speaker 3: So like it's really crazy to me how that all
- 18:41Speaker 3: is going to going down. So like I think that
- 18:44Speaker 3: here's how I see the series playing out. My original
- 18:47Speaker 3: prediction was Dodgers and six, so we have now shipped
- 18:50Speaker 3: to Dodgers and seven, so now it's getting closer to
- 18:53Speaker 3: getting off the Dodgers wagon here. But I did say
- 18:57Speaker 3: it will go one to one, so I do think
- 18:58Speaker 3: the Dodgers win tomorrow. I think they probably win the
- 19:02Speaker 3: Otani start. I think the Blue Jays win the glass
- 19:05Speaker 3: Now start, so you're gonna be squared up at two
- 19:08Speaker 3: and then Game five is gonna be Savage and Snell.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Again, and that can go either way.
- 19:14Speaker 3: So I still probably believe the Dodgers may be up
- 19:17Speaker 3: three games to two going back to Toronto, but Toronto
- 19:21Speaker 3: could win the two home games and win force the
- 19:23Speaker 3: game seven and winning seven, like why not? The issue
- 19:27Speaker 3: is how long are these Dodgers starts and be able
- 19:31Speaker 3: to carry his pitching staff if they have another situation
- 19:35Speaker 3: that they had tonight, that Blue Jays are gonna win again,
- 19:38Speaker 3: like they need seven innings from Yamamodo on two innings
- 19:41Speaker 3: from Sasaki tomorrow. That's how the Dodgers win tomorrow. If
- 19:44Speaker 3: anything else happens and they're in trouble, yeah.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I'd say Moto has really been living up through his expectations.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I love Yamamoda. Was a pitcher I always have.
- 19:53Speaker 3: I really watch the Yankees were able to get him,
- 19:56Speaker 3: Like I knew because like I follow him in the
- 19:58Speaker 3: world with my World Baseball and that work work, So
- 20:01Speaker 3: like I knew who he was. And like I've watched
- 20:03Speaker 3: a bunch of clips and stuff, and I'm like, this
- 20:04Speaker 3: guy's different. He doesn't give up any homers. Really, he
- 20:07Speaker 3: doesn't walk anyone like he is. He's electric to uh
- 20:11Speaker 3: he pitched a complete game. No one tells that anymore.
- 20:15Speaker 3: He has special stuff and he's the type of guy
- 20:18Speaker 3: that's not going to get rattled either. Like you saw
- 20:20Speaker 3: what he's in the World Series last year. Like he's
- 20:22Speaker 3: had a very good resume. He's worth every penny the
- 20:25Speaker 3: Dodgers paid him.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Yeah, is the payment plan thing?
- 20:29Speaker 3: They'll bother you with the Dodgers, Like, yes, it does,
- 20:32Speaker 3: But they didn't do that with him, I don't think,
- 20:33Speaker 3: because he had to be straight up.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it bothers me a lot. I don't like it
- 20:38Speaker 1: at all. I'm not gonna lie to you, and I've
- 20:40Speaker 1: gone on and length about that.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Momoto has been nails though two eight two thirty eight innings,
- 20:46Speaker 3: thirty three k's in his postseason career. But his fit
- 20:50Speaker 3: is a little higher than his era, so maybe some
- 20:52Speaker 3: regressions coming.
- 20:53Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 20:53Speaker 3: I see a four oh six there, but they better
- 20:56Speaker 3: hope that doesn't come tomorrow because they can't afford any
- 20:59Speaker 3: more regression.
- 21:00Speaker 2: No, they can't. And I always feel like Roberts is
- 21:03Speaker 2: so funny with the way he does his bullpen. It's
- 21:06Speaker 2: it's like one day he's locking him in, the next
- 21:10Speaker 2: time he doesn't. He just lets the starter go as
- 21:12Speaker 2: far as they go, So it's always it.
- 21:14Speaker 3: I think it's as far as they go now because
- 21:17Speaker 3: of the situation that we saw tonight, He's gonna pitch
- 21:19Speaker 3: them one hundred plus all of them, I think.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I think he doesn't really have a choice.
- 21:24Speaker 2: If you didn't think the Blue Jays were gonna come
- 21:26Speaker 2: out swinging, I would say you were wrong. I thought
- 21:28Speaker 2: they'd ever. I feel like they're gonna have an offensive blowout,
- 21:31Speaker 2: this burst this whole series, like you just feel it coming.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Yeah, But I think the Dodgers pitching is so good
- 21:38Speaker 3: that they're gonna figure it out eventually. I mean, I
- 21:41Speaker 3: don't want I'm not rooting for la obviously, I'm just
- 21:43Speaker 3: telling you what I think might happen. But like I'm
- 21:46Speaker 3: not heavily rooming for Toronto. It's kind of like, whatever
- 21:48Speaker 3: happens happens. Like, do I want to see them win? Yeah,
- 21:51Speaker 3: but well i'd be just draw if the Dodgers go
- 21:53Speaker 3: back to back.
- 21:54Speaker 1: No, but it's gonna create more problems down its out
- 21:57Speaker 1: on the line probably.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I'm here the Dodgers. There could be a lockout for
- 22:01Speaker 2: sure in twenty seven.
- 22:02Speaker 3: That's the issue I'm having as well, because all the
- 22:05Speaker 3: owners are gonna cry poor and use the excuse that
- 22:07Speaker 3: we can't keep up with them, like that is a problem.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I'm not gonna deny that. And then it doesn't it
- 22:12Speaker 3: gets worse because if the Dodgers win again this year,
- 22:15Speaker 3: then why can't they win again next year? And if
- 22:17Speaker 3: they have a three peak going into the lockout, that's
- 22:19Speaker 3: a complete disaster. We might not see baseball for a
- 22:22Speaker 3: long time if they three peak going into the lockout.
- 22:25Speaker 3: So the Blue Jay that's part of the reason why
- 22:27Speaker 3: I hope the Blue Jays do figure it out.
- 22:29Speaker 1: I mean, so far, so good. But I'm not gonna
- 22:32Speaker 1: overreact to one game.
- 22:33Speaker 2: I just can't do it because yeah, but I kind
- 22:35Speaker 2: of I kind of had a feeling they were come
- 22:37Speaker 2: out with offense, because I've seen the first of the
- 22:40Speaker 2: other two series. They just come around.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Now.
- 22:42Speaker 2: How about how about the guy named George Springer who
- 22:44Speaker 2: I thought was not left for dead. I don't want
- 22:47Speaker 2: to say that kind of.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Term, but yeah, he was declining and like we thought
- 22:50Speaker 1: it could have been over kinds of like he was
- 22:52Speaker 1: not good last year. He's been incredible and he's a Yankee.
- 22:54Speaker 3: He talk about the Yankee Killer, him and Vlady's junior together,
- 22:58Speaker 3: like and Bobuschet too.
- 22:59Speaker 1: But that was good tonight. That's a good thing for
- 23:02Speaker 1: Toronto as well.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I mean, but shit, you need him there.
- 23:05Speaker 2: And in fact, when he got injured, I thought that
- 23:09Speaker 2: was gonna affect their playoff run entirely.
- 23:12Speaker 3: They've really avoided that greatly. I mean, the Yankees got
- 23:17Speaker 3: mopped up by them before the Mariners could have beaten
- 23:20Speaker 3: them though they had them. They just blew it by
- 23:23Speaker 3: going out using moons.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Like. I understand that the Blue Jays talk smack.
- 23:29Speaker 1: And all that, but look, that doesn't even bother me,
- 23:32Speaker 1: to be honest with you.
- 23:33Speaker 2: The Yankees did this to themselves.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Have nine, That's what I'm saying.
- 23:36Speaker 3: They did it to themselves, so people getting mad about
- 23:39Speaker 3: Toronto was just like you're crying, crying over philm Milkan
- 23:42Speaker 3: with sour grapes. The Yankees caused this, this is and
- 23:46Speaker 3: the Blue Jays did what they had to do and
- 23:47Speaker 3: they took them to the Yankees. But these were all
- 23:50Speaker 3: self inflicted wounds.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Nine games of Devin Williams, and I'll still never forget
- 23:54Speaker 2: that or understand why we kept going to them.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I don't have an answer for you either.
- 24:00Speaker 2: And so that was the mistake.
- 24:02Speaker 3: They could have easily won the division, and if they
- 24:04Speaker 3: won the division, we may be having an entirely different
- 24:06Speaker 3: conversation right now.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Well, look, I don't know if the Yanks would have
- 24:10Speaker 2: been could have been the Dodgers in the rematch, but
- 24:11Speaker 2: I think everybody would have loved to see the rematch.
- 24:13Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Here's what Here's how it would have gone. The Yankees
- 24:17Speaker 3: would have had the top seed. The Blue Jays definitely
- 24:20Speaker 3: would have beat the Red Sox. I still believe that
- 24:23Speaker 3: we would have faced They would have faced Toronto and
- 24:25Speaker 3: the Yankee Stadium instead of starting and the Rogers Center.
- 24:29Speaker 3: I don't know if that would have been enough with
- 24:30Speaker 3: the difference, because the Blue Jays were just better than
- 24:31Speaker 3: the Yankees. I'm not sure if that would have made
- 24:33Speaker 3: the difference, but if they played the matters in ALCS,
- 24:36Speaker 3: they definitely have had a shot. Do you think the
- 24:38Speaker 3: Yankees could have beat the Blue Jays with the home field,
- 24:40Speaker 3: because I'm not entirely sure about that. I don't know
- 24:41Speaker 3: if you feel different.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Look and I'm always, as you know, I'm always optimist
- 24:45Speaker 2: about this Yankee team no matter what. But I was
- 24:49Speaker 2: more excited that we beat Boston and was looking forward
- 24:52Speaker 2: to the Alds only because I knew that was going
- 24:55Speaker 2: to be a tough fault.
- 24:56Speaker 3: I didn't have high expectations either, Like if you heard
- 24:59Speaker 3: me to off for a while this year, I was saying,
- 25:02Speaker 3: like a DS or CS ceiling, this was not the
- 25:04Speaker 3: World Series team for the Yankees. I was not fooled
- 25:07Speaker 3: at all, Like even though with the hot star like,
- 25:09Speaker 3: I was not thinking they were a lot for the
- 25:11Speaker 3: World Series rematch.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I just didn't see it. There was too many inconsistencies,
- 25:15Speaker 1: Like the stuff you talked about with Devin Williams was
- 25:17Speaker 1: part of it was actually good, but yeah, go ahead.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Unfortunately, the first game after the deadline happened to be
- 25:25Speaker 2: in Toronto, when your new acquisitions cracked the bed.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Oh no, that was the Marlins game where they saw
- 25:31Speaker 3: when they blew up. Yeah, and think about it, if
- 25:34Speaker 3: they didn't get swept by the Marlins. It was the
- 25:36Speaker 3: one's division.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean there were these little games.
- 25:39Speaker 1: There were so many millions different ones that are.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Do you agree that this season these seasons are feeling
- 25:45Speaker 2: faster now, because.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Yes they are. I feel like we're going lightning speed
- 25:49Speaker 1: these days. I don't know why, but tell me why,
- 25:51Speaker 1: give me something.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Yeah, really went from nineteen games against our division opponents.
- 25:56Speaker 1: To thirteen or twelve. Yeah, every game.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Matt now, and that's why even the Mets threw away
- 26:02Speaker 2: some of those games against Philly and Washington that cost
- 26:06Speaker 2: him in the end.
- 26:06Speaker 1: I mean, Lawrence really got the Mets.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yeah, but those games in April matter, and I wish.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Yes, Alex say yes they do.
- 26:14Speaker 3: I'm gonna yes bring this up because I'm getting sick
- 26:16Speaker 3: of the people saying that the early season games don't
- 26:19Speaker 3: matter either, Like they matter. Every single game matter. It's
- 26:21Speaker 3: like it's April, May, June, July, September, August. All games
- 26:25Speaker 3: are pretated equal at this point, like you said, and
- 26:28Speaker 3: think about it, all those April games, you thought that
- 26:30Speaker 3: didn't matter. What what happened Now, all those games that
- 26:33Speaker 3: Carlos Carrasco and Marcus Stroman were trying out there, Like
- 26:36Speaker 3: what happened the.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Fall away against Washington and they lost that game in April.
- 26:41Speaker 2: It's like, there's gonna beg them in the s in September.
- 26:44Speaker 1: I remember that. I do remember that. Now you bring
- 26:47Speaker 1: that up.
- 26:47Speaker 2: That does with Yankee see those that that four games
- 26:51Speaker 2: at the end of June into July set the path
- 26:54Speaker 2: for the Blue Jays.
- 26:55Speaker 3: I mean yes, once the Yankees got swept in Toronto,
- 26:59Speaker 3: that made me think they were done.
- 27:00Speaker 1: At that point, I thought the division was lost.
- 27:02Speaker 3: I was like, they're not getting it back like they
- 27:05Speaker 3: I thought the easy schedule might save them, and it
- 27:07Speaker 3: almost did, Alex, it almost did. The only reason the
- 27:09Speaker 3: Yankees almost came back was because their September schedule was
- 27:12Speaker 3: so soft. That's the only reason it was even close.
- 27:15Speaker 3: They got lucky the way the schedule was placed, it.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Was they did and they took advantage.
- 27:20Speaker 1: They had eight they did.
- 27:21Speaker 3: They gave it their best effort. They really almost ran
- 27:24Speaker 3: them down. They really almost did it. But like the
- 27:27Speaker 3: thing is, when they play what you.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Know why that was they finally played Cabriero and and
- 27:31Speaker 2: I love the yanking, and you know, I'm connected with
- 27:34Speaker 2: them through Simon or family and all that, So, I mean,
- 27:37Speaker 2: I love the I have connections. But I want to
- 27:41Speaker 2: say this, I wish they acted on Volpi earlier. I
- 27:44Speaker 2: had seen the game where he goes.
- 27:46Speaker 3: And I have connections of Obey. So I feel very
- 27:48Speaker 3: similar to you about what you're about to say. Probably,
- 27:50Speaker 3: but go ahead.
- 27:51Speaker 2: No, I mean I just think we knew and it
- 27:54Speaker 2: may that there was an issue there.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what they were doing, Like, why
- 27:57Speaker 1: couldn't they handle that better? I don't care. Interesting.
- 28:00Speaker 2: I love Cabiro. I think he should come back next year.
- 28:03Speaker 1: He's well, he's under contract for a while, so that's
- 28:05Speaker 1: good news for you. He'll be back for a while.
- 28:07Speaker 3: No, great, he was, He's going to be back. Don't worry,
- 28:10Speaker 3: he will be back here. I think they have three
- 28:12Speaker 3: more years of control there.
- 28:13Speaker 2: He was the shot that they needed to get to
- 28:15Speaker 2: get to the postseason. I mean really really stepped in there.
- 28:18Speaker 2: And of course we're gonna hear the Lombard and the
- 28:20Speaker 2: Spencer Jones stuff, and yeah, and about that this off
- 28:24Speaker 2: season who we pick up. Look, I still would rather
- 28:27Speaker 2: Belly over Tucker. I don't know what it is.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I love I'm on the Tucker train.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Don't you think Tucker would add more or.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Yes, I think he would help the team a little
- 28:38Speaker 3: bit more personally. But look, I mean, if Balinger comes back,
- 28:42Speaker 3: I'm okay with it, but there needs to be another move.
- 28:45Speaker 3: But can't just be bringing him back. Like if they
- 28:47Speaker 3: just bring him.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Back and do nothing else, that's a complete bailure to me.
- 28:50Speaker 2: I would like it Alonso. Now the Bryce Harper stuffs
- 28:53Speaker 2: swirling again.
- 28:54Speaker 3: I'm not buying Alonzo because it came from Hayman and
- 28:56Speaker 3: he's he's a Boris mouthpiece. I'm not gonna buy that one.
- 29:00Speaker 3: I need to see a lot more behind that. I mean,
- 29:02Speaker 3: I guess maybe, but like I'm not seeing that one.
- 29:05Speaker 3: He's just doing it to try to get the market
- 29:07Speaker 3: value up for Pe.
- 29:08Speaker 1: He does this all the time.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Well, people know you were around these teams this year, right,
- 29:12Speaker 2: so you had.
- 29:12Speaker 3: You had Well I know how Hayman operates, like I've
- 29:16Speaker 3: gone that, I've gone to the winning meetings.
- 29:18Speaker 1: With him before, Like I understand how he works.
- 29:21Speaker 2: But being on both teams. What what what was your
- 29:24Speaker 2: overall feeling.
- 29:24Speaker 3: I mean, the Meds collapse was not was surprising until
- 29:28Speaker 3: it wasn't Like I was surprised, like basing Hell, well,
- 29:31Speaker 3: they played early in the year, but once I saw
- 29:33Speaker 3: the bottom phone out of September, like I think, I
- 29:36Speaker 3: called the last week of the season my birthday because
- 29:38Speaker 3: I'm like, the Reds are gonna make the playoffs, the
- 29:39Speaker 3: Met's are gonna collapse.
- 29:41Speaker 1: I think, I want, I think when it came down
- 29:42Speaker 1: to it, I did say the medsicell collapse.
- 29:45Speaker 3: I'm not I am and I'm not surprised because their
- 29:47Speaker 3: pitching was patchwork and it wasn't gonna last one sixty
- 29:50Speaker 3: two and they had to rely on too many kids.
- 29:53Speaker 3: And I know how I feel about Jonah, but he
- 29:55Speaker 3: wasn't quite ready for the show yet, So I hope
- 29:58Speaker 3: he could rebound.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Maybe on the same thing is really hot.
- 30:01Speaker 1: That was huge.
- 30:02Speaker 3: The same good thing was a disaster because like he
- 30:04Speaker 3: was so good. You know what changed your season? You'll
- 30:07Speaker 3: agree with me right here when Pete A. Lonzo made
- 30:09Speaker 3: that bad flip to first base. Ever since he made
- 30:13Speaker 3: that bad flip, that's when the Mets went down. Hell
- 30:15Speaker 3: think about it. They were like twenty one games over
- 30:18Speaker 3: five hundred around that time, I think, and then after
- 30:20Speaker 3: that they were basically a below five hundred team holding upwards.
- 30:23Speaker 1: To your life, and they Philly wasn't good.
- 30:26Speaker 2: They didn't.
- 30:26Speaker 1: The Mets were just like smoke.
- 30:28Speaker 3: The Mets were trying to smoke the clock and the
- 30:30Speaker 3: kwards to your life, and they couldn't hold on long enough.
- 30:33Speaker 3: If the season was one hundred and sixty games, would
- 30:35Speaker 3: have made the playoffs. But it's not like if the
- 30:37Speaker 3: season won one hundred seventy games, the Mets would have
- 30:40Speaker 3: been like TENK. They would have been below five hundred.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Like the Mets were going the wrong way. There was
- 30:44Speaker 3: nothing that could have been done to save them. Well,
- 30:47Speaker 3: actually I will say there could have been something dumb,
- 30:49Speaker 3: but it wasn't done properly Savid Stearns and not handled
- 30:52Speaker 3: the pitching at the deadline. That's why the Mets failed.
- 30:55Speaker 3: He needs to get a starting pitchering and do it well.
- 30:58Speaker 2: And I think the Yanks are so full of pitching
- 31:00Speaker 2: you need to focus on the hitting now.
- 31:02Speaker 1: So well, yes, I agree with you, Alex, So let's
- 31:04Speaker 1: go back to the Yankee side. So like the Medsiad.
- 31:07Speaker 3: I kind of gave you my explanation the Yankees, Like,
- 31:10Speaker 3: I just didn't see the juice with them all year.
- 31:13Speaker 3: I didn't trust the lineup in October, Like how many
- 31:16Speaker 3: times do we go through these regular seasons and we
- 31:18Speaker 3: see them put up all these homers as ops, like
- 31:20Speaker 3: best team in the league, best offense in the league,
- 31:21Speaker 3: and soone kept telling me, I'm like, no, it's not.
- 31:23Speaker 1: I'm like it's not.
- 31:24Speaker 2: I still like judging the second by the way, I
- 31:26Speaker 2: would keep him in the second spot.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Yeah, Judge is fine.
- 31:29Speaker 3: He had a good postseason, Like he's the least of
- 31:31Speaker 3: my concerns now when I'm happy he has nothing of
- 31:32Speaker 3: the surgery. But like what I was saying was like,
- 31:35Speaker 3: I don't trust the regular season numbers. They don't matter
- 31:37Speaker 3: because they don't play in October. They don't translate in October,
- 31:40Speaker 3: So until it translated October, I don't care the regular
- 31:43Speaker 3: season numbers.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I really don't. But how many times do we see
- 31:47Speaker 1: them hit all these homers only the fall flat in October?
- 31:49Speaker 1: That's my point.
- 31:51Speaker 2: However, I do finally feel like, for the first time ever,
- 31:55Speaker 2: October was not a different animal for the Yankees. What
- 31:58Speaker 2: we saw on the right postseason, it's sort of what
- 32:00Speaker 2: we saw in the regular season.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's fair. That is fair.
- 32:03Speaker 3: You're actually right, there wasn't that much difference. Is the
- 32:06Speaker 3: only thing is that they didn't hit too well for
- 32:08Speaker 3: most of it. But like they're pitching, bullpen problems carried over. Yep,
- 32:12Speaker 3: they couldn't figure out the bullpen all year. That was
- 32:14Speaker 3: the same issue. Max Freed not having his best stub
- 32:18Speaker 3: against Toronto was not great.
- 32:20Speaker 1: But the thing is.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Toronto owned Max Freed. He can't even strike them out.
- 32:24Speaker 3: He had like fifteen k's in five games against him.
- 32:27Speaker 3: That's terrible. And Carlos for Zone was up and down
- 32:30Speaker 3: against the two and Nowhi Zone was hurt, so I'm
- 32:31Speaker 3: gonna give him a pass. Carlos ro Zone was definitely
- 32:33Speaker 3: pitching her against the Blue Jays, so he's he actually
- 32:36Speaker 3: had a great year. I hope he's good to go
- 32:38Speaker 3: early in the year. I know he's gonna miss opening probably,
- 32:41Speaker 3: but like, I was very happy what I saw from
- 32:43Speaker 3: Carlos this year, especially considering the end of the year hurt.
- 32:45Speaker 2: And you know, Rodal seemed to have channel his I
- 32:48Speaker 2: know he's an emotional guy. He seemed to have really
- 32:50Speaker 2: locked that in and look he had a better year.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Actually he was a solid number two.
- 32:55Speaker 1: And I still yeah, he was worth the money.
- 32:57Speaker 3: For the first time since being a Yankee you could
- 32:59Speaker 3: actually say was worth the money was being paid.
- 33:01Speaker 2: I still say this rotation, if you keep Cam in
- 33:04Speaker 2: there is gonna be ridiculous.
- 33:06Speaker 1: If he's gonna stay, he's gonna do a thing.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Now would you add a guy like al Kintara or
- 33:11Speaker 3: Freddie Peralta May because those are guys that interest me
- 33:13Speaker 3: because I want to stack the deck. The Yankees need
- 33:16Speaker 3: to stack the deck somewhere. I want because look at
- 33:18Speaker 3: how you could do it. Even when roothe comes back.
- 33:21Speaker 3: You have a world where Garrett Cole's back, you have
- 33:23Speaker 3: Max Freed, you have Carlos of Cam, and then you
- 33:26Speaker 3: have Freddy or al Kintara.
- 33:29Speaker 1: That's one of the better fives in the league.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Well see what what the Miami Marlins won for Alcatara.
- 33:35Speaker 2: That would be an interesting trade though he.
- 33:38Speaker 3: Only has he only has one year left to control.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Like it's gonna happen. I mean, he's going somewhere. I
- 33:43Speaker 3: don't know if it's gonna be the Yankees, but the
- 33:45Speaker 3: Yankees are definitely picking up the phone on that and
- 33:47Speaker 3: you look at you look at what they tried on
- 33:49Speaker 3: the deadline. By the way they did try, I'm pretty
- 33:51Speaker 3: sure they have tried a couple suppose they tried.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not yet. It's like in left fields, gonna
- 33:59Speaker 1: ge rid of it. It's too soon. It's too soon.
- 34:03Speaker 2: But what I will say is, you talk about the
- 34:06Speaker 2: Dodgers win hurting the league, it hurts these individual cities,
- 34:09Speaker 2: right So then, and what I mean by that is,
- 34:14Speaker 2: let's see, you'll see all these cities want to make
- 34:17Speaker 2: moves to build up their team to compete with the Dodgers. Yeah,
- 34:23Speaker 2: so you could see a Schiens move because they want
- 34:26Speaker 2: to compete with the Dodgers, so they'll get the younger
- 34:29Speaker 2: kids in there. I don't know something. I feel like,
- 34:32Speaker 2: these Dodgers win the World Series, it will impact the local,
- 34:35Speaker 2: very local baseball markets more so than before because they'll
- 34:39Speaker 2: try even harder to try and compete with them. Yeah.
- 34:41Speaker 3: The thing is like, I just don't see a ball
- 34:43Speaker 3: s Games trade because his value is too high right now.
- 34:46Speaker 3: I don't even think a team has the package that
- 34:47Speaker 3: puts together from it's realistic. He has four years off
- 34:50Speaker 3: the controling. He's the best pitcher in the league, arguably
- 34:52Speaker 3: him and Tarik or one and two. However you want
- 34:54Speaker 3: the slice it.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Oh and how did how did they get rid of
- 34:58Speaker 2: keep Brian Hayes? I remember him on the the Pirates.
- 35:00Speaker 2: That was actually pick up some really good guys at
- 35:04Speaker 2: the trade deadline.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Yeah, the Reds are okay, they're like, they're kind of
- 35:07Speaker 3: like a little bove average. They gotta kept their heading better.
- 35:09Speaker 3: But they made the playoffs. I mean they didn't play
- 35:12Speaker 3: that well, but then they played better than the Mets. So, like,
- 35:16Speaker 3: I don't think Skins is gonna moved yet with Fortis
- 35:18Speaker 3: the control, because like, I don't think any team has
- 35:20Speaker 3: the package to give the Pirates that makes sense.
- 35:22Speaker 1: I just can't see it.
- 35:23Speaker 2: By the way, we we ain't talked on my podcast
- 35:25Speaker 2: One Wing Up with Alex Garrett a while back.
- 35:27Speaker 1: I haven't caught up with you since I did put
- 35:29Speaker 1: your plugs in my link.
- 35:30Speaker 3: By the way, if you want to give me better
- 35:32Speaker 3: links so you can send them to put them in
- 35:34Speaker 3: so after this if you want, you can do that.
- 35:38Speaker 2: I so appreciate that. But I was gonna say, but
- 35:41Speaker 2: we haven't caught up since Uh, the Philly pitcher in
- 35:45Speaker 2: that game against Dodgers. I feel really bad.
- 35:48Speaker 1: For them, yeah, k k, yeah.
- 35:52Speaker 2: And I bring that up because I just felt like
- 35:54Speaker 2: that was a postseason moment that Philly is like what
- 35:57Speaker 2: are you doing? Well, you know what, you try fans like,
- 36:00Speaker 2: what are you doing? You try to be in that situation,
- 36:02Speaker 2: the noise, the stadium. It's just in that moment. I
- 36:07Speaker 2: understand Ria Moultu pointed down to first, but you don't
- 36:10Speaker 2: see that as a picture, you know, you don't see that.
- 36:12Speaker 3: And here's the other thing, if we're going to be honest,
- 36:14Speaker 3: the Phillies were screwed. Regardless they were not winning that
- 36:17Speaker 3: series or that game, they were still gonna lose. It
- 36:20Speaker 3: was just a matter of winning have they weren't hitting.
- 36:22Speaker 3: The Phillies want lost because they Hey, it's not because
- 36:25Speaker 3: of that throw. They're bad's one siling. I mean, that's
- 36:28Speaker 3: not the reason the Phillies lost. That's just the last
- 36:30Speaker 3: play of the season. They were done.
- 36:31Speaker 1: They were not being the Dodgers.
- 36:34Speaker 2: And you know, I was a shame because I really
- 36:35Speaker 2: thought Swarm was on a roll.
- 36:37Speaker 3: I thought the Phillies were better, to be way better.
- 36:39Speaker 3: I actually thought they have I thought they could have
- 36:41Speaker 3: pulled the ups. That was completely wrong.
- 36:44Speaker 2: So how about the Padrecs. Okay, so here's a team
- 36:47Speaker 2: that I always think.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Is gonna get very disappointing, but they never do.
- 36:52Speaker 2: And I love the Cubs because my dad was a
- 36:54Speaker 2: Cub fan, so of course I looked for them. However,
- 36:57Speaker 2: the Padrects are a team I always ape. I even
- 37:00Speaker 2: thought last year in.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Twenty four, well, they actually had the Well, this is
- 37:04Speaker 3: what I was telling you before. This is the last
- 37:07Speaker 3: time the Dodgers had their backs against the wall. Was
- 37:09Speaker 3: that situation with the Padres in twenty twenty four? They
- 37:12Speaker 3: were down two games to one, and how they respond
- 37:15Speaker 3: They shut them out two games in a row. That's
- 37:17Speaker 3: why I'm not gonna That's why I can't just say
- 37:19Speaker 3: that which is gonna roll, because when the Dodgers have
- 37:22Speaker 3: their backs against the wall, they show up.
- 37:24Speaker 1: That's the problem.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Well, not only that Roberts turns on a gear like
- 37:28Speaker 2: he didn't when he stole a second base. I have
- 37:29Speaker 2: to say that, but yeah, he turns on a gear.
- 37:34Speaker 3: I had to just It's okay, it's been twenty years,
- 37:37Speaker 3: but I'm still not over at full.
- 37:38Speaker 2: I'm not over it. Either. But I could tell his
- 37:42Speaker 2: manager I still has that.
- 37:44Speaker 1: He plays with that swag a little. Yeah, he played
- 37:46Speaker 1: with that swag. You know he has that.
- 37:47Speaker 2: He has that.
- 37:48Speaker 1: He's a good manager. He is like he does a few. Yeah.
- 37:52Speaker 2: In Game four of the World Series last year, he
- 37:54Speaker 2: let the yate. I don't want to say let the win.
- 37:56Speaker 2: But it was a pun.
- 37:57Speaker 1: It was a punk game.
- 37:58Speaker 3: He was he didn't care if we at the Yankees
- 38:00Speaker 3: one let's be it was a It was a semi
- 38:03Speaker 3: punk game. But he did the purposely set himself up
- 38:05Speaker 3: for Game five.
- 38:06Speaker 2: And then game five, what happens the Aanks go up.
- 38:09Speaker 3: What they light up Flawherty and then his bullpen's ready
- 38:12Speaker 3: because he ain't used and he win in game four
- 38:14Speaker 3: and and they so it worked obvious in the World and.
- 38:18Speaker 2: That fifth I'll never understand it.
- 38:20Speaker 1: I'll never Oh god, it could we please?
- 38:23Speaker 2: But but they but but but Roberts locked in is
- 38:26Speaker 2: the point I'm trying to make you.
- 38:27Speaker 1: No, no, no, no no, no, I can handle I'm
- 38:30Speaker 1: just playing with you. Don't worry. Go ahead, I can
- 38:32Speaker 1: deal with it.
- 38:32Speaker 2: Roberts lockdown, take away. They didn't allow another run after
- 38:36Speaker 2: that five run out first and I thought.
- 38:39Speaker 3: There was one, didn't we retake They retook the lead,
- 38:41Speaker 3: and then they again. Remember remember they retook the lead,
- 38:44Speaker 3: but like I'm like, this is not gonna last. It
- 38:46Speaker 3: was six to five and then like came happened.
- 38:49Speaker 2: But it just felt like they locked down the rest
- 38:51Speaker 2: of the game after.
- 38:52Speaker 1: That, you know, they did it for the most part.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Like that was Yeah, so you'll.
- 38:56Speaker 2: See it tomorrow or later today. I guess you'll see raw. Yeah,
- 39:00Speaker 2: if he needs to, he'll go back to the bullpen
- 39:04Speaker 2: and try and figure it out. The guy they they
- 39:07Speaker 2: fool us in the first half of the every season, right,
- 39:10Speaker 2: they sort of coast.
- 39:12Speaker 1: A little bit, and they coasted this area.
- 39:15Speaker 2: And they're like, okay, But by the time the whole
- 39:19Speaker 2: season came around, he got his guys together and he
- 39:22Speaker 2: meant business.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Yeah, people were like, oh, the Dodgers aren't to save
- 39:25Speaker 3: it was the only in the playoffs, And yeah, I
- 39:26Speaker 3: was a little guilty because I thought Philly was better
- 39:28Speaker 3: than they were.
- 39:29Speaker 1: But deep down I was like, yeah, like when the
- 39:31Speaker 1: playoffs started, the Dodgers are going to beat the Dodgers worried.
- 39:36Speaker 2: I don't know what happened this year. I still feel
- 39:39Speaker 2: like they had an off year for an.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Off regular season.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, but now they're back. I mean they swept thes.
- 39:45Speaker 3: And they did have a lot of injuries too in
- 39:47Speaker 3: the pitching staff that didn't help them. I do have
- 39:51Speaker 3: some bad news for you. Clayton Kershaw pitched in the
- 39:54Speaker 3: playoffs and he got lit up like a Christmas tree.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Two winnings against the Phillies. Six hits, four runs, two bombs,
- 40:01Speaker 3: five four arms, five runs toll.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and three walks. He was horrendously But can we
- 40:06Speaker 1: talk about him for a minute.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Here's a guy who overcame injury after injury to get
- 40:10Speaker 2: to three thousand strikeouts.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:13Speaker 3: No, I'm not trying to distain his legacy. But he's
- 40:16Speaker 3: not a good post season pitcher. He's one of the
- 40:18Speaker 3: best pictures of all time, but he's not a good
- 40:20Speaker 3: post season pitcher.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Well, nolod, he has two rings. He's a Hall of.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Fame right, Well, he would have been a Hall of
- 40:27Speaker 1: Fame regardless, but like, yes, he's I think he's gonna
- 40:30Speaker 1: he's gonna Weltz into the Hall of Fame. He and
- 40:33Speaker 1: he deserves it, and he sent us He's the best
- 40:36Speaker 1: picture of our generation, arguably next to Sherz and Erlins
- 40:39Speaker 1: or all three of them have great cases. But if
- 40:42Speaker 1: you will get the pure numbers during the regular season alone,
- 40:45Speaker 1: Clayton Kershaw is better than both of them.
- 40:48Speaker 2: So I tell you may never see three thousand strikeouts ever.
- 40:51Speaker 2: I hate to say it like.
- 40:52Speaker 1: That, but what about Skins.
- 40:56Speaker 2: I think skiings down the road, But they're just all
- 40:58Speaker 2: these pictures are.
- 40:59Speaker 1: The One thing we're not gonna see is three hundred wins.
- 41:02Speaker 1: That's never happening again.
- 41:03Speaker 2: But they're also they're taking these kids out at like
- 41:07Speaker 2: eighty nine pitches, and I don't really understand.
- 41:09Speaker 3: You know, it's rough. Yeah, it's rough. We're never seeing
- 41:11Speaker 3: three hundred wins again. Three thousand strikeouts maybe, but they
- 41:16Speaker 3: might gonna take a while because I can't think of
- 41:18Speaker 3: anyone besides Skeens. It's gonna run that down.
- 41:21Speaker 2: There was someone I have to figure out.
- 41:23Speaker 1: I try to check really quick, okay, but it's all
- 41:25Speaker 1: I'll look active strikeout leaders MLB.
- 41:29Speaker 2: But I think Sures might be up there unless he
- 41:31Speaker 2: got it already.
- 41:32Speaker 1: He already got it. Oh, there is one.
- 41:38Speaker 3: I got you, Chris Sale, But I don't know if
- 41:42Speaker 3: he's gonna do it because he's so old and broken
- 41:44Speaker 3: down kinds. If he's thirty six, he's in a bunch
- 41:47Speaker 3: of injuries. Do you think he has four hundred and
- 41:49Speaker 3: one left in him or four hundred and twenty one
- 41:51Speaker 3: left in them?
- 41:52Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't even know. I don't even know.
- 41:54Speaker 2: I mean, I just don't know.
- 41:56Speaker 3: Garrett Cole has a stripe shot undred and fifty one
- 42:00Speaker 3: if he could come back strong.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Off to Tommy John.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Yeah, his years are are well and that's yeah, his
- 42:07Speaker 2: years are are waning, right.
- 42:10Speaker 3: He has three years left on the deal with the Yankees.
- 42:12Speaker 3: So Charlie Warren actually had two thousands and undred almost,
- 42:15Speaker 3: but he's done. Gus Arvis two thousand, he's done. Here's
- 42:18Speaker 3: an interesting one one you would be surprised with. I'll
- 42:22Speaker 3: give you three semi surprising ones here. How about Sonny
- 42:25Speaker 3: Gray in nineteen twenty five.
- 42:27Speaker 1: I would not have thought that. Wow, but he's not
- 42:30Speaker 1: gonna get I don't think.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Actually, when he was outside of New York, he's pitching
- 42:34Speaker 2: really well out.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true, he got Yeah, you're right.
- 42:37Speaker 3: How about Aaron Nolah at eighteen seventy six, at age
- 42:40Speaker 3: thirty two, But he's not the same pitcher. So I
- 42:43Speaker 3: don't know, hope he has enough left to get that,
- 42:44Speaker 3: but it's possible.
- 42:46Speaker 2: I love Nolah. I like him.
- 42:48Speaker 1: He's a borderline hall of fame or maybe depending how
- 42:50Speaker 1: he finishes his career.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Remember him and his brother were playing against each other
- 42:54Speaker 2: in the.
- 42:54Speaker 1: In the CS. Yeah, and then Kevin Gusman actually has
- 42:59Speaker 1: close to two k not have thought that that's interesting?
- 43:01Speaker 1: He has nineteen fifty four.
- 43:04Speaker 2: Yeah. By the way, Yasivs is great, But I mean Gosman,
- 43:08Speaker 2: what a rock for that rotation. I mean, my goodness,
- 43:12Speaker 2: if you know they he's been solid for the Blue
- 43:15Speaker 2: Jays issues.
- 43:16Speaker 3: I think Gasman's gonna get wet up tomorrow. I have
- 43:18Speaker 3: a feeling that Dopgers hit him just because, like some
- 43:21Speaker 3: guys have some good numbers against him, and they have
- 43:24Speaker 3: a lot of lefties that are given problems. But the
- 43:26Speaker 3: only thing is his sweather can neutralize lefties a little bit.
- 43:29Speaker 3: But Trade splither is better than Gusman's. But Trade didn't
- 43:32Speaker 3: have his field for display. I really thought what trades
- 43:35Speaker 3: it was very impressive because like he really did not
- 43:38Speaker 3: have that greatest stuff and he still gave them a
- 43:40Speaker 3: good chance to win. Only give up two runs and
- 43:43Speaker 3: he still struck out five even with Alec his best stuff.
- 43:46Speaker 2: And you know what, from what I can see, he
- 43:48Speaker 2: never got really into trouble at all.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Well he did kinds of, but he got out of
- 43:52Speaker 3: it because like he had had some bass runners, but
- 43:54Speaker 3: like he kept getting out of it.
- 43:57Speaker 2: How about the right by the way the Mariners in
- 44:00Speaker 2: the game seven.
- 44:02Speaker 1: I'm still disappointed with what took place there.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Should they really should have they really they really should
- 44:07Speaker 3: have won that game And all of the.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Double plays to end the inning was really frustrating to watch.
- 44:12Speaker 2: And then the fielding ears it was very odd to
- 44:15Speaker 2: watch that too.
- 44:17Speaker 3: Yeah, and then the decisions and I'll use muonios and
- 44:19Speaker 3: then having and then doing a sack bumper Leo Reebos
- 44:23Speaker 3: was definitely not the movie either, Like that doesn't make
- 44:25Speaker 3: any sense to me, So like, yeah, I mean the
- 44:28Speaker 3: Manners had a great year.
- 44:30Speaker 1: But disappointing ends.
- 44:31Speaker 3: It would have been cool to see that make the
- 44:32Speaker 3: World Series two never made it before. But I mean
- 44:35Speaker 3: Toronto for thirty two years for the first time, that's
- 44:37Speaker 3: pretty cool too. I mean, we'll see man, it'd be fun.
- 44:41Speaker 3: So what's sort of ending because it's late, But like
- 44:44Speaker 3: I want to ask you some Yankees thoughts, Like, all right,
- 44:47Speaker 3: we'll end with Yankees because we're both Yankees people, and
- 44:50Speaker 3: like a lot of people listening probably want to know
- 44:52Speaker 3: how we're feeling. Hey, Alex, there we go. All right,
- 44:56Speaker 3: you're closing down strong with the Yankees segment here. All right, So,
- 45:00Speaker 3: like what do you want to see them fixing the
- 45:02Speaker 3: off season? Like what do you think is their biggest issue?
- 45:04Speaker 3: Do you think it's the offense falling flat in October?
- 45:07Speaker 3: But do you trust him to shore up the bullpen?
- 45:09Speaker 3: I think we both agreed rotations very close to being
- 45:11Speaker 3: in a good spot, and I think that's probably the
- 45:13Speaker 3: least mar concerns. But I'd like to see them add
- 45:15Speaker 3: an arm because you can deal a heel or of
- 45:18Speaker 3: war and then use one of them.
- 45:19Speaker 1: As your six in theory. And then, like, it just
- 45:22Speaker 1: felt like.
- 45:25Speaker 2: We we did not fill a couple of voids this
- 45:28Speaker 2: past year. We tried, and I think Bell was at addition.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Yeah, tried is a key word. That's what they keep doing,
- 45:35Speaker 1: and they keep failing.
- 45:36Speaker 2: We tried with Fellinger to fill some kind of void
- 45:41Speaker 2: that left.
- 45:42Speaker 3: And he was solid, but in October he disappeared, unfortunately,
- 45:45Speaker 3: and October. His October's have been very uneven, So that's
- 45:48Speaker 3: another thing you have to think about if you're bringing
- 45:50Speaker 3: back his October numbers are not phenomenal.
- 45:53Speaker 2: And then people forget in May or April as Willa
- 45:58Speaker 2: Caberg goes down with that horrific and.
- 46:01Speaker 1: That kind of was under the radar heard more than
- 46:03Speaker 1: people realize.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Yeah they did not. I know they try with McMahon,
- 46:08Speaker 2: they did this set and the other, but they they
- 46:10Speaker 2: could have filled that void.
- 46:11Speaker 3: Probably, I've been talking about third base for two years.
- 46:15Speaker 3: I just don't understand how they continue not to figure
- 46:17Speaker 3: that out. It's been a problem for years, even beyond two.
- 46:20Speaker 3: Probably the only time it was semi solve was for
- 46:23Speaker 3: half a season last year with jash Chis and playing
- 46:25Speaker 3: third one.
- 46:25Speaker 1: How about I.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Missed the Geo days? Bring him back, you know, I
- 46:28Speaker 2: don't know.
- 46:29Speaker 3: Yeah, fortunately Geo's you don't think there's much juice left there.
- 46:32Speaker 3: But like that was the last time he really felt
- 46:34Speaker 3: fully good about third. Mcmon's okay, but like his bat
- 46:37Speaker 3: is not the best and like he really struggles against
- 46:40Speaker 3: left teas. You know what, his defense is very good
- 46:42Speaker 3: and you have a good postseason though, for I would
- 46:44Speaker 3: say he did play well in October, I'll give him that.
- 46:47Speaker 2: I still think we missed Labor. I mean, get letting
- 46:50Speaker 2: Labor gon.
- 46:52Speaker 3: I mentioned that as well. It's just like something was
- 46:54Speaker 3: off with the Yankees and tourists. That's like, I think
- 46:57Speaker 3: there's something behind the scenes stuff there. And why was
- 46:59Speaker 3: he like one of the few players that Boone actually
- 47:01Speaker 3: held accountable, Like no one else is really held accountable?
- 47:04Speaker 3: Like why was Labor the only person that was really
- 47:06Speaker 3: held accountable? Like Alex Radugal was jogging down the first
- 47:09Speaker 3: base line and he was awful and nothing ever happened
- 47:11Speaker 3: to him, Like Labor Tourist is way better than Alex Radugo.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Like why was Dugal given so much runway? I'll never understand.
- 47:16Speaker 1: He was not good.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I forget about him for a second and.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Think about what Trent Grisham did this season. Why they
- 47:24Speaker 3: couldn't just do that switch, Like Grisham was ready to
- 47:26Speaker 3: go and they didn't do it.
- 47:28Speaker 2: Grisham was unbelievable this year. He has to That's a
- 47:32Speaker 2: guy that needs to come back, I think.
- 47:33Speaker 3: But I don't know, because like I think his market
- 47:36Speaker 3: value something could price him out. And I'm also worried
- 47:39Speaker 3: he got exposed in October because like his October was
- 47:41Speaker 3: really bad.
- 47:43Speaker 2: I know it was, well, they all had a rough,
- 47:46Speaker 2: rough swing except for Judge. Actually Judge, it really.
- 47:49Speaker 3: I know it's upsetting because Judge was like the only
- 47:50Speaker 3: person to show up and it got washed away because
- 47:52Speaker 3: no one else did.
- 47:54Speaker 1: So go ahead.
- 47:55Speaker 2: My thought though, is we cannot waste Judges a few
- 47:59Speaker 2: more years.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Ye like, well, they're getting close to doing it.
- 48:02Speaker 3: It's almost I mean he's still very good, thankfully, so
- 48:05Speaker 3: like he's gonna win. I think he's gonna win the MVP.
- 48:08Speaker 3: Actually over Cal, it's gonna be. It might be semi close,
- 48:10Speaker 3: but I think Judge is gonna win it, and you
- 48:13Speaker 3: he should. I mean, Cal, you have a great case
- 48:15Speaker 3: for whatever you have said. Cal wonted No, not really
- 48:17Speaker 3: because like he deserves the awards too, but Judge is
- 48:20Speaker 3: just a little bit better.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Like the bad.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Little injury that that Judge had this year, that's gonna
- 48:28Speaker 2: be an issue. But Cal just had it all around
- 48:30Speaker 2: unbelievable sixty home un I mean, what a season. I
- 48:35Speaker 2: still think he gets the MV pole.
- 48:38Speaker 3: I'll tell you why. I think Judge gets it because
- 48:40Speaker 3: you will get the sports books. He's a heavy favorite.
- 48:43Speaker 3: I think that's why because like the books, no, like
- 48:46Speaker 3: if he if Judge wasn't gonna win it, he wouldn't
- 48:48Speaker 3: be a heavy favorite. I think he's gonna win it.
- 48:51Speaker 3: Maybe I'm wrong, but we'll see.
- 48:52Speaker 2: You asked me what I thought. I just think they
- 48:55Speaker 2: need that bat. They need that bat behind it with.
- 48:58Speaker 1: That bad who. I have a few names that tossed around.
- 49:03Speaker 3: I'll try to give some different ones out and like
- 49:06Speaker 3: are yeah, but like I have a couple obviously, say
- 49:08Speaker 3: like Kyle Tucker home the same much more about that.
- 49:11Speaker 2: I know you want you want Tucker.
- 49:13Speaker 1: I do want Tucker.
- 49:15Speaker 2: I did like Bellinger in some respects, but there there
- 49:19Speaker 2: needs to be another piece to this.
- 49:21Speaker 3: I can't even if I can bring Bellinger back, but
- 49:23Speaker 3: I need to add something else if that happens.
- 49:26Speaker 2: So, I mean, I wish we got a couple of guys.
- 49:30Speaker 3: What's here is I really wanted? I think I was
- 49:34Speaker 3: on the Suarez train for sure, and Deffly was vocal
- 49:37Speaker 3: about that.
- 49:38Speaker 2: And even before he resigned with the Dodgers on my brain.
- 49:43Speaker 1: I know Tayo with the Yankees tried.
- 49:45Speaker 3: I think it just didn't quite materialize. Tayo is such
- 49:48Speaker 3: a good October hitter too, Like that's the guy you need.
- 49:51Speaker 3: And you know they tried Key k too, but went
- 49:53Speaker 3: back to the Dodgers. K had such a good October hitter,
- 49:56Speaker 3: Like he's so much better on October he than the
- 49:58Speaker 3: regular seasons. Actually crazy, but I'll give you a few
- 50:01Speaker 3: names to chew on here. So we like Kazuma Okamalo.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Probably say Okamodo Kazuma Okamodo. I'm very interested in that.
- 50:09Speaker 3: And I think there's a little Matt Suey connection there,
- 50:12Speaker 3: so like maybe he can finally help us put one
- 50:14Speaker 3: across the finish line. It's been a while they got
- 50:16Speaker 3: to get someone. But I like kaz because he could
- 50:19Speaker 3: spell my man at their base against leftiest. He could
- 50:21Speaker 3: spell Rice at first base against leftiest. He doesn't with
- 50:24Speaker 3: like Mari Kami does. He's a good contact bat. I
- 50:28Speaker 3: think his defense is pretty solid. He's only twenty nine
- 50:30Speaker 3: years old, so I think there's still some room to grow.
- 50:33Speaker 3: I think he would be excellent for the Yankees. I
- 50:35Speaker 3: don't know if they'll do it, but I would definitely
- 50:37Speaker 3: look into that.
- 50:38Speaker 2: That's a name, man, I remember, we get so hype
- 50:41Speaker 2: when these guys get posted by Japanese.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Yeah, now you can't get high because they all the Dodgers,
- 50:47Speaker 1: or yeah.
- 50:48Speaker 2: Or I don't even hear about it anymore. It's like
- 50:50Speaker 2: I remember when Ka guy was posted and we.
- 50:52Speaker 1: Were all, let's go get him and we good boy?
- 50:56Speaker 1: Could we not?
- 50:58Speaker 2: And then and then to was to not go.
- 51:00Speaker 3: One of those Tanaka was. I'm not sure if he
- 51:03Speaker 3: was a straight signing or posting. I'm trying to remember.
- 51:06Speaker 3: There's a picture too that's out there that I want
- 51:08Speaker 3: that I might be interesting in the Yankees getting I
- 51:12Speaker 3: gotta look through my messages really quick.
- 51:14Speaker 2: By the way, Sworz is not a free agent this year.
- 51:16Speaker 1: Right is a free agent. But the thing is that
- 51:19Speaker 1: got like man now, so I'm not gonna sign him probably. Yeah.
- 51:24Speaker 2: I like McMahon's addition to the to the team. I
- 51:27Speaker 2: thought it was good, but it's like we're missing that
- 51:32Speaker 2: and I know it's gonna burn Yankee fans to just
- 51:34Speaker 2: keep bringing it up. But Soto had a spark to
- 51:38Speaker 2: the lineup. I can't explain.
- 51:41Speaker 1: He was still going October too, Like you can't really
- 51:44Speaker 1: replace that.
- 51:45Speaker 2: He brought this culture.
- 51:46Speaker 1: He like you said, they tried but they couldn't do it.
- 51:50Speaker 2: He Yeah, And of course John Carlos postseason was really
- 51:54Speaker 2: surprising because I thought he was gonna fallow up with
- 51:57Speaker 2: last postseason and do like I.
- 51:59Speaker 3: Think he might have been banged up. He didn't seem
- 52:02Speaker 3: like himself. Let me ask you this, though, I've definitely
- 52:04Speaker 3: brought this up on a few shows. How do you
- 52:06Speaker 3: feel like Stan's clock is looking? I think if he
- 52:08Speaker 3: gets off to a bad start next year, we have
- 52:10Speaker 3: to consider pulling the plug. The Yankees can't afford to
- 52:13Speaker 3: be inflexible with him anymore if he's not gonna show
- 52:15Speaker 3: up in October, and then there's no reason to keep him.
- 52:18Speaker 2: So it's been a love hate relationship with the guy
- 52:20Speaker 2: because he when he us on, he gets these unbelievable.
- 52:23Speaker 3: Yeah, he's not worth the money he's being paid though,
- 52:26Speaker 3: if you think about it.
- 52:27Speaker 2: But unfortunately there was a regression because I'm used to
- 52:31Speaker 2: the standing net.
- 52:32Speaker 3: He was a beast during the regular season too. It
- 52:34Speaker 3: was actually opposite this year. It was a great regular
- 52:36Speaker 3: season and not total was a those show.
- 52:38Speaker 2: But I was used to the guy that sort of
- 52:40Speaker 2: makes out in the basis loaded situation like he did
- 52:43Speaker 2: in the top of the fifth Like that was not
- 52:45Speaker 2: surprising to me that that's where I feel like I
- 52:48Speaker 2: land on that.
- 52:49Speaker 3: So would you would you be willing to let him go?
- 52:52Speaker 3: Like if things don't start well for him next year?
- 52:54Speaker 3: Like how much RELEASEH would you give him next year?
- 52:56Speaker 3: Because I kind of wanted to like open up the
- 52:58Speaker 3: DH but I think it's time. Like I'm not saying
- 53:01Speaker 3: to cut him on the spot, but like how much
- 53:03Speaker 3: warm are we gonna let this go on? For it
- 53:05Speaker 3: it's not working, Like I know he's come close to
- 53:07Speaker 3: helping him win the championship, but like ultimately during one
- 53:10Speaker 3: sixty two it's not working.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Well, it's no, it's a rough stretch now, one last thing,
- 53:15Speaker 2: and you know.
- 53:15Speaker 1: We's gonna get hurt of miss time and all that too,
- 53:18Speaker 1: so like you have to prere for it anyway.
- 53:20Speaker 2: The boone cashman running it back again, but.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Oh god, I'm not into that either.
- 53:25Speaker 2: But here's why they're doing it, and I think it's because,
- 53:28Speaker 2: let's here, Cole was injured. We didn't get this guy
- 53:32Speaker 2: healthy that like I know.
- 53:34Speaker 3: That's what they say this all the time, and it's
- 53:36Speaker 3: like the same song and dance. But look, I mean, look,
- 53:39Speaker 3: maybe this time is finally it, Like I don't know
- 53:41Speaker 3: for sure. I mean, look, Boon only is one year
- 53:43Speaker 3: left after this year, and they're going into a lockout,
- 53:45Speaker 3: so like if there was a time to blow it up,
- 53:47Speaker 3: it would be after next year. Give it one more
- 53:49Speaker 3: shot next year, I guess, Like I hate saying running back,
- 53:52Speaker 3: it is like it hasn't really worked, don't running back? Well,
- 53:54Speaker 3: fix the roster and in the back, I guess, because
- 53:56Speaker 3: that's what we're gonna do. But like what they actually
- 53:58Speaker 3: considered moving on from both of them if they if
- 54:00Speaker 3: they fail again next year going into the lockout, I
- 54:02Speaker 3: don't know. Maybe maybe they would at that point because
- 54:05Speaker 3: how many more times you're gonna keep banging your head
- 54:07Speaker 3: against the wall with the same formula and expecting as
- 54:09Speaker 3: every result good regular season, above average semi elite get
- 54:13Speaker 3: ran over in October either the DSCS or the World
- 54:17Speaker 3: Series like last year, Like I get it for one
- 54:20Speaker 3: more I guess, because like there's not really great options.
- 54:22Speaker 3: Probably replaced the room right now, but like I'm just
- 54:25Speaker 3: not like excited about it.
- 54:27Speaker 2: Well, they need to add that spark, and I don't
- 54:29Speaker 2: know if an Alonzo spark is the answer, because he's
- 54:32Speaker 2: getting older too.
- 54:33Speaker 3: And he's also all or nothing to a lot, even
- 54:35Speaker 3: though his average was better this year, but he does
- 54:37Speaker 3: describing a lot of runs.
- 54:39Speaker 2: He can be a producer. Rice Harper another guy that's
- 54:42Speaker 2: a little older, And I mean, I don't know if
- 54:45Speaker 2: that's the answer, it's.
- 54:47Speaker 1: Not gonna happen. I don't think. I think they kind
- 54:48Speaker 1: of poured water on that.
- 54:49Speaker 3: Like I think Dombrowski and Harper has some miscommunications, but
- 54:52Speaker 3: he doesn't want to actually trade him. It would be
- 54:54Speaker 3: an interesting idea, like I think they could a while ago,
- 54:57Speaker 3: but like what I take, one's the Rice circumstance A sure,
- 55:01Speaker 3: But here's a few other names to chew on. I like,
- 55:05Speaker 3: I've talked about Kwan before, but I don't really think
- 55:07Speaker 3: that's gonna happen. Probably so I'll dismiss him. I'll give
- 55:11Speaker 3: you my favorite name outside the box. You would love this,
- 55:14Speaker 3: but you have gonna have to move the infield around
- 55:15Speaker 3: a little bit. Can tell Marte the Diamondbacks wanted deal. Marte,
- 55:21Speaker 3: it's not a secret, like he's gonna be out there.
- 55:24Speaker 3: I know you have to put Jazz back to third,
- 55:26Speaker 3: but if you get could tell it's a guy we're.
- 55:28Speaker 1: Doing that for.
- 55:30Speaker 2: I like it. And then.
- 55:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:34Speaker 2: I mean, I don't even know.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Exactly what it would cost, but figure it out. He's
- 55:38Speaker 1: out there.
- 55:39Speaker 2: I need to figure out who else is on the
- 55:40Speaker 2: free agent list like I got.
- 55:42Speaker 3: I can give you a few other ones. Josh Naylor
- 55:44Speaker 3: is an interesting name, but the Manners probably resigned is
- 55:49Speaker 3: actually really good. But like the Miners are making the
- 55:51Speaker 3: priority that we signed him. I would have liked Suarez
- 55:54Speaker 3: as man, but it's too late now.
- 55:56Speaker 1: Unfortunately.
- 55:56Speaker 3: I think I would have liked that as well, just
- 55:59Speaker 3: because he is more offensively and his defense is not
- 56:01Speaker 3: as bad as people think. I thought he did alright defensive.
- 56:04Speaker 3: He's not gonna be a Gold Glove winner, but he's
- 56:05Speaker 3: not that bad at.
- 56:07Speaker 2: That Grand Slam, because like that that that Grand Slam
- 56:10Speaker 2: was he was.
- 56:11Speaker 1: I know he was good.
- 56:12Speaker 3: He had a he had a good run in the end.
- 56:14Speaker 3: I know it's a post season was not great overall,
- 56:16Speaker 3: but he did a lock when he had to.
- 56:18Speaker 1: He had a few.
- 56:19Speaker 3: I think he had a hit in Game seven too,
- 56:20Speaker 3: I remember correctly. I think there was at least one
- 56:22Speaker 3: hit from him in Game seven.
- 56:24Speaker 2: No, I'm hearing people want a new catcher. I don't
- 56:26Speaker 2: even know it was a free agent.
- 56:28Speaker 1: People are talking about j t row Mouto with Austin Wells,
- 56:31Speaker 1: which I could get behind a little bit. I wouldn't
- 56:33Speaker 1: hate it.
- 56:33Speaker 3: Like at first I was kind of like no, but now, like,
- 56:35Speaker 3: you know what, fine, because like he's a bad he's
- 56:37Speaker 3: looking for a ring. He's a platoon, right, He's not
- 56:39Speaker 3: gonna play all the time.
- 56:40Speaker 1: But I could do that.
- 56:40Speaker 3: Sure, I shouldn't cost too much money at this point
- 56:43Speaker 3: in his career. Yeah, it's but are you willing to
- 56:46Speaker 3: put Ben Rice in first base full time? That's I
- 56:50Speaker 3: don't like him. I don't like him defensively to either spot.
- 56:53Speaker 3: To be honest with you, I wish he could just the.
- 56:56Speaker 2: H He's a great he's a great hitter.
- 56:58Speaker 1: That's that's what I mean. That's what I mean.
- 57:01Speaker 2: I try. I trust this field. I could get by
- 57:03Speaker 2: in this fielding a little.
- 57:04Speaker 1: Bit, I guess at first, not really a catches. I
- 57:08Speaker 1: don't think. I don't think he's good behind the.
- 57:10Speaker 2: Plate for Eduardo, for Eduardo Perez to attack him the
- 57:14Speaker 2: way he did, like saying, oh, that's because of an experience.
- 57:18Speaker 2: He's a kid, and you know what, you gotta get
- 57:21Speaker 2: him through that moment and then move on, you know,
- 57:24Speaker 2: move move forward with him. But I trust him. I
- 57:26Speaker 2: like him. I think he's gotta be around the nights
- 57:29Speaker 2: for a long time.
- 57:30Speaker 1: So you know, he's just gonna stick. Like he's a
- 57:32Speaker 1: good hitter.
- 57:32Speaker 3: Like the reason why moving Stan will be appealing is
- 57:35Speaker 3: because you can get off Stan and your th h
- 57:37Speaker 3: Rice and then you get a real first baseman and
- 57:39Speaker 3: then that looks a lot better. And then when you
- 57:42Speaker 3: get a guy like ja c the platoon and then
- 57:45Speaker 3: you can go from there.
- 57:46Speaker 1: Maybe. But like, I don't know, Austin had a really
- 57:50Speaker 1: good I'm not.
- 57:52Speaker 3: Out on all still wells. I think he'll be fine.
- 57:53Speaker 3: He actually does a lot of things well still because
- 57:55Speaker 3: averaging is to improve. His ops needs to improve. But
- 57:59Speaker 3: he's not I'm not out on him. He had a
- 58:01Speaker 3: down year, for sure. I think he can kind of
- 58:03Speaker 3: figure it out. I'm trying to think of another name.
- 58:06Speaker 3: I saw the free agent list that since it's my
- 58:08Speaker 3: friend the other day, it's really not as good as
- 58:10Speaker 3: you would like a base hot right, because there's a
- 58:14Speaker 3: couple of names, but like they don't necessarily fit the Yankees.
- 58:17Speaker 1: That's the problem.
- 58:19Speaker 3: Let me check this message I said with my friend
- 58:22Speaker 3: because I was talking with the top two, Like Harrison
- 58:24Speaker 3: Bay was listed as ten. Yeah, like that's all you
- 58:26Speaker 3: need to know, Like he was listed as ten and
- 58:29Speaker 3: he actually is decent, but he's not obviously he's not
- 58:32Speaker 3: coming back, so like we don't need to worry about that.
- 58:34Speaker 2: But really it is no longer with the Orioles.
- 58:37Speaker 1: But I mean, I'm gonna say absolutely not. I know
- 58:41Speaker 1: some people were saying they want to do that.
- 58:43Speaker 3: I would not at all for millions different reasons, so
- 58:48Speaker 3: we don't need to really go there. But trying to
- 58:51Speaker 3: look at the list, it's not great though. I remember
- 58:55Speaker 3: Tucker's at the top, Bellanjer was like fifth. Sarez and
- 58:58Speaker 3: Nail are on it, but I don't think the Yankees
- 59:00Speaker 3: getting either one of them, so I don't even really
- 59:03Speaker 3: look at them.
- 59:04Speaker 1: Again.
- 59:04Speaker 3: This is gonna take a while to get through, but
- 59:07Speaker 3: I'm getting closer, right thing. I mean, I wish I
- 59:10Speaker 3: could just find the bleacher Report, Baseball you know what.
- 59:13Speaker 1: I think I could do it. Yeah, it'll be easier
- 59:16Speaker 1: this way. Nope, I guess not, but I'll get I
- 59:23Speaker 1: just don't before we're gonna go as soon as I'll
- 59:25Speaker 1: worry about, Like I just want to.
- 59:26Speaker 2: See that Maxman's got up for a Gold Glove. Do
- 59:29Speaker 2: you think he's gonna get it?
- 59:30Speaker 1: Yeah, he could.
- 59:31Speaker 3: He's a pretty good defenser. I know he won, Like
- 59:33Speaker 3: one of the news publications put him as the winner.
- 59:37Speaker 3: So I mean, it's possible.
- 59:41Speaker 1: Let me see. I'm getting closer to it, by the way,
- 59:45Speaker 1: I was looking at a bunch of stuff with how
- 59:47Speaker 1: Kazumo Komodo. It's like close to Matsui because like the
- 59:50Speaker 1: your Murray Giants tie in the MPB. So I don't know.
- 59:55Speaker 3: I mean, if the Yankees are willing to put an
- 59:57Speaker 3: offer out there, then they exactly get him because the
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: Dodgers good news for everyone that's said of them getting
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: Jabanese players is that they only have space for one more.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: Because here's the thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, here's the problem too.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: I'm looking at the list.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: It's actually not a bad list, but like it's not
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: the Yankees fit list unfortunately. So I'll explain it to
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: you quickly.
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: So people were saying that about like shit, what was
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: my what was I saying before the ten players? Like
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: I was going on about something crap like certain player fits.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: I think, But I'll go through the list and we'll
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: get back to it. So Alex Pregnant's on the list,
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: for instance, Yeah, that's not happening for a million different reasons.
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: Someone put in my comments and you should got pregnant.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: I was like, it's not even worth talking about. It's
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: just not gonna happen. So I'm not I'm dismissing that. Well,
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: I think we lost him, but he might be back.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: We'll see, but.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: I'll finished that. So it was like, Boba Shep, don't
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: see the Yankees posishing out the money for him. I've
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: talked about that before, even if they weren't interested. The
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Blue Jays are not just gonna let that happen. Okay, back, Okay,
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: So Alex bregnant, No, though, obviously don't need to get
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: into that Boba sheet, No chance. I don't think the
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: Yankees are not paying Boba Schet two hundred million dollars.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: No, I don't think they're gonna That's the only thing.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: How much are they willing to spend on these guys,
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: that's the other question.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: They're not getting either of those guys, and those are
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: some of the top hitters. Kyle Schwarber does not fit
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: the Yankees for millions different reasons. He's they can't afford
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: go ahead.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Yeah, but I love his swing and I think he'd
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: be great in that short port.
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: He would be, But there's three issues with Kyle. If
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: he's another all or nothing guy, they don't need that.
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: The second one is that he doesn't have a position
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: and they can't have another DH. And it's just like
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: the not gonna want to pay him either. That's so
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: there's my three problems with that. Let's think then, So
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: I'm going through more pee Alonso maybe, but I don't
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: think so.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: I'll put that like a small perspect.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: You were around the Tigers, the scoop. All trade rumors
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: drive me crazy, the trade their cornerstone pictures with you.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: I don't think they're gonna trade me either. I'm just
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: like being out there and like seeing all that. Like
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: that would that would like be such a big blow
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: to them.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: They can't do that.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: I think they're gonna take one more wrong with him.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: They was in pre agency, it was in a free agency.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: They got to try to stack the deck to win
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: with him one last time in case they don't retain him.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: I can't see them trading him. I'd be stunned, I
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: really would be. Maybe I'm wrong. I think it's a
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: bunch of nonsense in here stage. I think it's all
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: speculations because he has one year left in this deal.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: I don't think he's getting traded. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong,
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: but I don't think so. It's making me drive. It's
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: driving me crazy.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: It's well because like I don't enjoy those rumors.
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: Really go through the rest and then and then the
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: list ends with Cody Krent, which I might get one
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: back on both, probably.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Suarez Nail or An Harrison Bader.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: So it's not like the greatest free agent list based
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: on the Yankees fits needs how much you won't to
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: spend like it's not great.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: That's why I'm thinking more about trades.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: Maybe I know I missed the era where you would
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: sign a idea, a text and as my friend said,
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: Swisher and win a World Series.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: I know they don't do that anymore. That's the problem.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: They'll do that, they'll do they'll get one player or two,
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: but they're not gonna do all that. Like Cody Bucher
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: was a one year deal. Basically, that's not that wasn't
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: even a lot of money. Max Free was a big deal. Yes,
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: Devid Williams another one year. And then what else did
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: they add? That was the Big three Goldsmid one year deal.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: Like they didn't really go all in last off season either,
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: even though they're losing solo. It was like Ban's aid patchwork,
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: like they tried to make it all stick together.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: Yeah, no they did. That's that lineup was not gonna
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: win a series.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: No it wasn't.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: I was saying that the whole season, and people didn't
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: want to listen. I was like, it's just not like
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: you guys don't see when the time comes. And now
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: as soon as the time comes, everyone's quiet.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: Now wait, wait, one last thing. The Otani to Toronto rumor.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: I guess they almost matched the Dodgers. Why would he
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: go to Toronto. I don't understand that that was a
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: bustle that could have actually.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: Happened, because they were definitely the runners up. I do
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: I believe that wholeheartedly.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: The Dodgers.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: The Blue Jays definitely threw the seven hundred at him,
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: like it was right there. I really do think there
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: was a shot there. It was kind of close, I guess,
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: but like he wanted La for millions different reasons, Like
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: I don't actually think the Blue Jays wherever gonna get him.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: But like they were in the running. Yeah, I mean
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: the free agent markets not great for the Yankees.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: As just completely devastating their face base because you tease
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: them with Trout and Otani and you get nothing. You
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: get nothing from me from that problem.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: Can I just say one thing? Crazy?
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: They signed their manager to a one year deal. Who
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: the hell signs their manager to a one year deal?
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: And why would he agree to it? I have I
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: have so many issues and questions with that. Now do
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: you first of all, why? First of all, why do
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: you do it? Second of all, who agrees to that?
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: Like? What a one year deal?
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: A one year deal for a guy that's never managed before?
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: By the way, I thought Tito was gonna manage the
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: Reds a little more into the post and he's he's
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: a really great manager.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: But I don't know.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: This time running down too, I don't know. I don't know.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: Yeah, let me see, let me just try to do
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: something quick. I'm trying to look at MLB trade can
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: it's like top all season trade. Can't see if there's
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: a bad that like could make some sense.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Imagine Cow comes to the Yankees.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: I'm trying to look, all right, I found something that
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: we'll see. If it goes in, it goes interesting. I'm
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: going to see. I don't know how good this list is,
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: but we'll have some fun with it. The Yankees aren't
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: cutting Trout, that's not gonna happen. Oh no, this is
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: the old one's ship. Why are you serious? Like, how
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: do we not have updated once? But the Yankees are
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: still a cleaning trout. I'm trying to think. Can you
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: think of any random bats? I'm messing that the Yankees
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: gonna try to make her own act?
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Are you?
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: Are you into Mura comedy or no?
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: I've really known about the guy, so you're you're intraditionally
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: someone I'm not really heard of before.
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I just like he has a lot of power,
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: but like strikeout where he is not good. I'm trying
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: to look for some guys that can go all right,
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: now this is updated.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: Okay, here we go.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: It's sorry, this will be top twenty five trade trips. Okay,
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: now we're really getting somewhere. Ryan Jeffers, No, I don't
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: think so it's always Garcia not quite. I would have
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: said yes to that a couple of years ago. Alec Boum, No,
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: will we step a Rino, No, Noman, are not all
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: absolutely not. Pete Fairbanks, sure, Laarres Newbar interesting but probably not.
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: Bailey Ober, Jeff McNeil, nah Brandon Wow, I mean the
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: Braids are not gonna make him.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: A game agents. Are they actual free agents?
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: No?
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: These are guys that could be trade candidates who are
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: running out deals or teams ready to rebuild or something.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: Taylor Ward No, Brendan Donald and yes, if that would
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: actually happen. Yes, Sonny Gray no.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: O.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: Neil Cruz had an interesting fun idea, but love but
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: he's very all or not being the only problem with him.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: But maybe they could fix him. Edwin Cabrera probably too
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: rich for the Yankees taste. Mitch Keller, They definitely tried
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: that one. Maybe Yandy Diaz if the Raids would actually
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: trade him. Sure, likedut it to us to the Yankees.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: Pablo Lopez interested.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Me but want or no?
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I kind of like Ramsey, but that was not
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: really in the card.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: Sandy al Kintara, Yes, Mackenzie Gore maybe, Adley Rushmand Nope,
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: not coming to the Yankees.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Stephen Kwan, Yeah, and we did talk about Kwan.
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: Maybe Jared Duran not coming to the Yankees, Yes, Freddy
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: Peralta maybe, and then Joe Ryan. Absolutely. They could do
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: it somehow, but that's gonna be tough to do. Yeah,
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: none of those are like amazing bad options. I'll give
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: you one. I like that's like interestingly quiet Corey Seeger.
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: Yeah, wow, I did not know he was a free agent.
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: No, Seagers could be a trade hands because the Rangers
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: are gonna cut pay roll. It's not Ana slams on
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: put like it's possible. All right, I think we're gonna
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: cut it out.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Yeah, rock and roll, But this was this has been fun.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: I gotta check out the free agents and I'll get
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: back to you with the better idea of who I
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: think we should pick up.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: It's okay, it's early. The World series hasn't ended yet.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: You're fine.
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: I'm gonna drop my hands. Don't need to drop yours.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: So check me out on YouTube. It's a Jewling Glaradi show.

- 1:09:54Speaker 3: is Jewel guardy one, Instagram is Jewel Guard eleven. TikTok
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: to my name, Facebook my name. Check out world Beats
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: Well Networking on platforms and Latino Sports on all platforms Alex,
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: take away your platforms and let everyone know where they
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: can find.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: You, Alex Street and I see one or one leg
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: Alex Instagram and X and we post a lot of there,
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: as Julian can tell you. And I'm sure, I'm sure
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: that NFL Sunday is going to be fun this weekend.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: I know you're a Jet then, and I am so
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: sorry about that because that.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: Is I actually quit the Jets. I'm wearing a Lion
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: shirt right now. I gave up.
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: Look, look I got the Detroit Lions shirt on and
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: I'm not even kidding. I'm actually being serious.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: Like it's not you're.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: Starting to fall in love with Detroit.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: So I'm like excited, I'm done with I'm done with
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: the Jets, Like I'm actually done.
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: It's just it's it's very disheartening.
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: And then the just it is just starting and it
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: hurt me a lot, Like it wasn't an easy thing
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: to to, Like you think I want to switch teams
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: in my thirties, Like no, I'm just a little bit fraudulent,
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: and we'll be honest, but like I just can't take
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: it anymore. Done, Like there's no hope, Like I'm not
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: just gonna subject myself to like losing every single season
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: and with no ends in sight, Like I'm good, go ahead, brother,
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: what oh yeah?
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: No? I mean my final takeaway is this, as far
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: as the World Series goes, I think Toronto will make
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: it happen. I just I gotta feeling with their hangings
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: and to overcome the Dodgers. And as far as free
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: agents go, I don't know who we get. I feel
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: like I can't bank on anybody right now, so we got.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: Can They don't know what the budget's gonna be, like
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: what haws and will allow? Like are they going over
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: to tax or is he? Is he trying to cut
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: pay rolling into the lockout? Which will be if you
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: brought my minds out? But you never know, And then
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: you know, the Giants at least have hope. The Giants
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: have a quarterback.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the Giants. The Giants tomorrow three and five
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: is still.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly do look and even if they don't win
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: this year, at least you know you have a quarterback.
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: And the Jets haven't had a quarterback since I was
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: a baby, probably, so I'm about good. And the ownerships
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: a circus, like there's it's an aptitude. It's embarrassment. Like
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: the head coaches change, GM's change, the players, change quarterback,
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: change the owners of one constant until he gets out
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: of the way.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: That team's going nowhere.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: Julie, this is awesome.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: Thanks Alex, thank you for hopping in and Laate know this.
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: I really appreciate you. I tell you what, we could
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: try another one of these games, like in another series.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: I'll give you more notice and you can we can
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: do we can plan it better, like we get stuff
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: the cameras and everything, Like what could you do like
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: a game three or a Game four?
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Maybe?
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: Like I think I have different plans for tomorrow, but like,
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: could you do one of the Dodger games maybe postgame?
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: Oh definitely, I want to do that. By the way,
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: I couldn't help but think of that Game one from
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: last year. And that's another reason why I want the
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: Dodgers to lose.
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: So you know, oh yeah no, look but yeah no,
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: like the back to back thing I get, like the
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: baseball to trying to stay.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: People say that the Blue Jays chirped the Dodgers were
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: like talking smack the whole championship, you know, Parain and
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: all that.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: I don't know. I just yeah.
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: And I'm not bothered by the Blue Jays chirping because
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: they owned the Yankees. They backed it up, like what
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: are you gonna like? Why are people even complaining about
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: it anymore? The Yankees had their chance to shut them up,
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: and they failed, so they could say whatever they want.
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: They got them barrassed by the Blue Jays this year.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Games they like go to ways. That's that's where I
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: think it's the difference.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Yep, that's sweep in Toronto.
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: That sold the whole story, all right, man, catching them, Yes,
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: I'll hit you up for another game, thanks, Alex.
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: And yet we're gone, Canna
