- 0:13Speaker 1: in Lincoln, Nebraska. We're breaking down all the biggest games.
- 0:15Speaker 1: But as always, FanDuel, your most rewarding season ever. That's
- 0:19Speaker 1: what they're doing. That's what they promised and promises made.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Promises kept. People that put their Twitter username in the
- 0:25Speaker 1: comment section of this YouTube have an opportunity to be
- 0:28Speaker 1: rewarded in bonus bets. We have three winners from last week.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Go Vols underscore is one. The Lou 08 and Andrew
- 0:35Speaker 1: Shut 13. So we're gonna start off boys with Go
- 0:38Speaker 1: Vols right here.
- 0:39Speaker 2: We got the coin here.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Okay, that was I just stepped on a gravestone. That's
- 0:44Speaker 1: me disrespecting the dead. I apologize for that. It is spooktober.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I'm gonna move that over just a little bit.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Excellent.
- 0:51Speaker 1: All right. Bonuses, 100, 1,000, 500, 250, re-roll. Let's go, vaults. $ 500!
- 1:02Speaker 3: We're good!
- 1:03Speaker 1: $ 500 in bonus minutes right there. Next up, the loo, 08.
- 1:08Speaker 1: The loo. Move it over a little bit to the left.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Need 1,000.
- 1:12Speaker 4: $ 250, 000.
- 1:14Speaker 1: I gotta be better. I gotta be better for the
- 1:16Speaker 1: people who steal free bonus bets. Free bonus bets right now.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Andrew shot 13. All right. Just like the helmet. Come on.
- 1:25Speaker 2: $ 1, 000. Get it.
- 1:26Speaker 3: That's okay, guys.
- 1:29Speaker 2: That's okay.
- 1:29Speaker 3: $ 1, 000. Andrew shot 13.
- 1:36Speaker 1: As always, we have a live studio audience here. We
- 1:39Speaker 1: have a great show for you. Please do me a favor, subscribe.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Leave that Twitter username in the comment section so you
- 1:43Speaker 1: can be a part of these winners from FanDuel. Let's
- 1:45Speaker 1: have a hell of a show, boys. Touchdown!
- 2:02Speaker 3: All right, welcome to another episode of The Locker Room.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Willie C., Tara Luan, Josh Pate, we are your hosts.
- 2:08Speaker 4: As always, we are presented by the number one sportsbook
- 2:10Speaker 4: in the world, and that is the FanDuel Sportsbook. And guys,
- 2:13Speaker 4: there is something that you can do for free each
- 2:16Speaker 4: and every week on the FanDuel app. Before we get
- 2:18Speaker 4: into it, make sure you go to the Responsible Gaming
- 2:20Speaker 4: section in the app or FanDuel.com slash playwithaplan because we
- 2:23Speaker 4: gamble responsibly on this show, as should you. Now, to
- 2:28Speaker 4: the fun part, there is a half a million dollar
- 2:30Speaker 4: jackpot that is up for grabs every week for free.
- 2:34Speaker 4: You don't have to wager anything. You just go and
- 2:36Speaker 4: pick 10 games against the spread. If you go 10
- 2:39Speaker 4: for 10, you will share for free That $ 500, 000.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Jackpot, it will be split amongst you all.
- 2:47Speaker 4: This past week, we had 92 people walk away with $ 5, 435.
- 2:52Speaker 2: A piece? A piece, Josh. Wow. A piece.
- 2:56Speaker 4: And you can do this all for free on FanDuel.
- 2:59Speaker 4: There is also another, a little cherry on top. You
- 3:02Speaker 4: can pick the 10 games against the spread. Myself, Taylor,
- 3:05Speaker 4: Josh Pate, we picked those 10 games as well. If
- 3:08Speaker 4: you beat one of us, all you have to do
- 3:10Speaker 4: is beat one of us, you will get a profit
- 3:13Speaker 4: boost token for you to have and use.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I know they just have to be one of us,
- 3:16Speaker 1: but collectively as a group, this is our best week yet.
- 3:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Me and you, five out of 10. Josh with a
- 3:23Speaker 2: solid seven out of 10.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Seven out of 10. And we'll take that.
- 3:25Speaker 4: So if you would have got six right last week,
- 3:27Speaker 4: you're enjoying a profit boost token right now on the
- 3:29Speaker 4: boys to you on FanDuel to you. Wow. FanDuel.com slash Bussin.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Make your free picks now. Again, you don't have to
- 3:35Speaker 4: wager anything. You just get onto the app. You have
- 3:37Speaker 4: a little profile and you can participate in the half
- 3:39Speaker 4: a million dollar jackpot for free.
- 3:41Speaker 2: That's a lot of money. That's a lot of money.
- 3:43Speaker 1: For 92 people over $ 5, 000 a piece.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm just saying that's a ton of money.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Yeah, a ton of money.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Wow. And especially getting to do that, you don't have
- 3:54Speaker 2: to wager anything. It's like if you have a dime,
- 3:56Speaker 2: you could even keep that dime in your pocket. It
- 3:58Speaker 2: doesn't even cost a dime. Where do you find value
- 4:01Speaker 2: like that?
- 4:02Speaker 1: Nowhere else.
- 4:03Speaker 4: It's telling you to take that dime, you keep it,
- 4:05Speaker 4: and be like, surely I'll beat one of the boys
- 4:07Speaker 4: against the spread.
- 4:08Speaker 2: And then you get to use a PBT on that dime.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Look at that profit boost token. All right, this Ford
- 4:14Speaker 1: leaderboard segment is presented by, you guessed it, Ford. A
- 4:17Speaker 1: hard day's work starts with one thing, someone willing to
- 4:20Speaker 1: do it. And where there's a will, there's a Ford
- 4:23Speaker 1: F-Series truck. Here's that segment.
- 4:26Speaker 4: We have the four leaderboard. The graphic, I say, is
- 4:29Speaker 4: going to show up every week. Apparently, it's not there. Actually,
- 4:32Speaker 4: we have a callback. Jared, if we can get to
- 4:35Speaker 4: the callback. We have a shout-out here to Dan Cannella.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Need a four leaderboard graphic that shows the scores.
- 4:42Speaker 2: 78 likes on that, too.
- 4:43Speaker 4: We are all in line with that. We need a
- 4:45Speaker 4: four leaderboard that shows all the scores. This is your graphic.
- 4:50Speaker 1: It's finally here. It's finally here. And what a week
- 4:52Speaker 1: for it to finally be shown. Up 31 units. You're
- 4:57Speaker 1: up 31 units.
- 4:58Speaker 2: And you looked at me and said, behavior like mine
- 5:01Speaker 2: is what's wrong with our economy. So you're suggesting that
- 5:04Speaker 2: I'm hoarding wealth.
- 5:06Speaker 1: All I'm saying is I don't think America is in
- 5:07Speaker 1: as big of a debt pool as it is right
- 5:09Speaker 1: now if there aren't more Josh Pates in the world.
- 5:12Speaker 1: To be up 31 units. Like there's gotta be, where's
- 5:14Speaker 1: that coming from?
- 5:15Speaker 2: This is your second communist.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Allegation, by the way.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Allegation?
- 5:19Speaker 2: Second communist allegation. He tried to call you one last week.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, but I'm saying you might be hurting the
- 5:24Speaker 1: country by doing so well in betting.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Which is wild because you remember a couple of weeks
- 5:28Speaker 2: ago when I was gonna take Georgia and then you
- 5:31Speaker 2: took Oklahoma and foolishly, but it's all on me, I
- 5:35Speaker 2: followed you. Yeah. You're just as free to follow me,
- 5:38Speaker 2: but you won't.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I might this week.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Jesus Christ. Is it time to fade?
- 5:43Speaker 1: That's always the issue. That's always the problem.
- 5:45Speaker 4: I feel like I let down my fan base. I
- 5:50Speaker 4: was down 16 units last week. Now I'm only down
- 5:53Speaker 4: seven because I had an incredible week.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Your whole thing last week was you're playing a completely
- 5:57Speaker 1: different game than me and Josh. You're essentially playing golf
- 5:59Speaker 1: where the lowest score is going to win. And everyone's like, hey,
- 6:02Speaker 1: we're going to fade Willie C. We're going to fade
- 6:03Speaker 1: Willie C just to stab them in the back and
- 6:05Speaker 1: have a great week.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I was hoping to see negative 32 units so
- 6:08Speaker 4: at least I could be like, listen, you just got
- 6:10Speaker 4: to fade me.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Don't worry about following Josh.
- 6:12Speaker 3: You're winning.
- 6:13Speaker 1: You're winning the game. But I had a great get
- 6:14Speaker 1: back spot. Yeah, good get back spot. I mean, with
- 6:18Speaker 1: the minus seven, I feel like you're in a good
- 6:20Speaker 1: spot right now.
- 6:21Speaker 2: People two weeks ago thought that you were going to
- 6:24Speaker 2: Not make it through the season.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:25Speaker 2: People thought we were going to have to excommunicate you
- 6:27Speaker 2: from the contest.
- 6:28Speaker 1: A completely different. Hey, by the way, I do want
- 6:31Speaker 1: to compliment you on handling that ad read, talking about
- 6:33Speaker 1: the forward leaderboard, just being present with us in this
- 6:35Speaker 1: moment based on what's going on this weekend.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Oh, my goodness.
- 6:39Speaker 1: This is a big game. This is not just massive
- 6:42Speaker 1: for your university, your football program. This is massive for
- 6:45Speaker 1: Willie C.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Yesterday.
- 6:46Speaker 1: This is everything.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Yesterday, Kirby Smart texted me and Kaylin DeBoer texted me
- 6:51Speaker 2: what do you think is going to happen in that
- 6:53Speaker 2: Nebraska game?
- 6:54Speaker 1: Really?
- 6:55Speaker 2: They don't really. Did you just send them a photo
- 6:57Speaker 2: of me in the corner?
- 6:59Speaker 4: No, sure.
- 7:00Speaker 2: From my bedroom?
- 7:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I'll get you one of those. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:04Speaker 1: He does have just a roll in it. He's got
- 7:05Speaker 1: like a file or something where he just has these
- 7:08Speaker 1: awesome photos all the time.
- 7:10Speaker 2: People are nervous about this. I don't know if you are,
- 7:12Speaker 2: but people are nervous about this for you. A lot
- 7:14Speaker 2: of people are nervous for you. Nervous for Indiana? No,
- 7:16Speaker 2: for you. They're nervous for you because they know. I
- 7:19Speaker 2: don't want to put words in your mouth, but like
- 7:21Speaker 2: what's in here. It's beaten right now. It's going to
- 7:23Speaker 2: be Friday and Saturday. Like it's going to be out
- 7:27Speaker 2: there for the world to see. And you're vulnerable. So
- 7:29Speaker 2: you're willing to hold your heart in your hand for America.
- 7:31Speaker 2: And you're willing to let everyone know this is it.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Either we win Saturday or I die. I'm willing to die.
- 7:41Speaker 2: So you're all right. You can laugh at that. No, no.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I'm ready to go. I laugh at how serious you
- 7:47Speaker 1: are about that. I know you're ready to go.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:50Speaker 1: You're not going to get a whole lot. All the
- 7:52Speaker 1: odds are against you. All the odds are against Nebraska
- 7:55Speaker 1: and just what's happened in the last 10 years, how
- 7:58Speaker 1: many wins you guys have against top 25 teams. Spoiler alert,
- 8:01Speaker 1: it's zero.
- 8:02Speaker 2: 31 straight.
- 8:03Speaker 1: And I had this conversation with you yesterday when we
- 8:05Speaker 1: were just by ourselves. I was like, hey, you have
- 8:07Speaker 1: to empty the tank this week. Because at the end
- 8:09Speaker 1: of the day, fate's fate. Whatever's going to happen on
- 8:10Speaker 1: Saturday is going to happen. This is the time. We've
- 8:13Speaker 1: said for the last five, six, however many weeks, hey,
- 8:16Speaker 1: pull the reins on Will. Pull the reins on Will.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Let's just relax for a second. Now we got to go.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Now it's time to wave the flag.
- 8:23Speaker 4: I will be leaving everything on the field within those
- 8:26Speaker 4: 24 hours from the start of Bustin' and Payton on campus.
- 8:28Speaker 4: That's going to be in Lincoln, Nebraska, this Friday afternoon,
- 8:31Speaker 4: South Stadium, the entrance. until the game is done against Indiana.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Everything will be drained.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Everything.
- 8:39Speaker 4: I'm giving them everything. And I know the 90,000 is
- 8:42Speaker 4: going to be giving them everything.
- 8:45Speaker 2: I believe. I believe. My mom, you met her a
- 8:47Speaker 2: couple of weeks ago. Not exactly in tune with college football.
- 8:51Speaker 2: She understands it. She knows that I do it for
- 8:53Speaker 2: a living, but she's not dialed. She can't tell you
- 8:55Speaker 2: about the Big Ten standings right now, but she did ask...
- 8:59Speaker 2: about you this week. So even the outside world, even,
- 9:03Speaker 2: I'm not going to call my mom a casual, far
- 9:04Speaker 2: be it for me to do that, but like even
- 9:05Speaker 2: the non-diehard crowd, even the casual crowd that just watches playoffs,
- 9:09Speaker 2: national championship game, even those people are in line at
- 9:11Speaker 2: the grocery store saying, it's a big week for Will.
- 9:15Speaker 1: The world knows and understands. You put yourself in this position,
- 9:17Speaker 1: what a position to be in.
- 9:19Speaker 2: It's a big week for the Huskers. You know what
- 9:21Speaker 2: Dan Lanning felt like now. It's you that has to
- 9:24Speaker 2: deal with Kurt Cignetti.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Will Compton is in the A-gap this week. A lot
- 9:27Speaker 1: of respect for Kurt Cignetti. You're in the A gap.
- 9:31Speaker 1: With Cignetti. With Cignetti.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:34Speaker 1: And he doesn't miss very often. But we'll talk about
- 9:36Speaker 1: that game at the end.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Of the show. Very prepared team.
- 9:40Speaker 4: A couple weeks ago, when we were in Tennessee, when
- 9:43Speaker 4: we were in Knoxville, we had the honor of going
- 9:46Speaker 4: and working out at their facility after the show, after Bustin'
- 9:48Speaker 4: and Payton on campus. I meet Coach Owings, who's the
- 9:50Speaker 4: head strength and conditioning coach for Tennessee now. He was
- 9:54Speaker 4: with Indiana last year, years before. He was with Cignetti for,
- 9:57Speaker 4: what was it, eight years? 10 years?
- 9:58Speaker 2: He was there for a while, yeah. He was with
- 9:59Speaker 2: them multiple stops. And he very much let me know.
- 10:03Speaker 4: All the shit talking I did that entire week before
- 10:05Speaker 4: they beat our ass like 56 to 7 in Bloomington, Indiana.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Oh, he was aware.
- 10:11Speaker 2: He hadn't been in there 30 seconds. He was aware
- 10:12Speaker 2: of all of the videos I made.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Even one of the assistants who was with him at
- 10:15Speaker 4: Indiana came out when we were working out later. He's like, hey,
- 10:18Speaker 4: Owen's talked to you about you in Nebraska and Indiana
- 10:22Speaker 4: a couple years ago.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yes, sir. Yes, sir. So I got to be careful
- 10:26Speaker 2: with the. with the bulletin board material that I put
- 10:30Speaker 2: out there.
- 10:31Speaker 1: See, to that I say nay.
- 10:33Speaker 4: No.
- 10:33Speaker 1: They watch.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Cignetti's watching this show right now.
- 10:36Speaker 1: So these coaches said that Cignetti pointed all these things out.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Like the whole coaching staff was aware of your words
- 10:41Speaker 1: coming out of your mouth.
- 10:43Speaker 2: First off, he's right. He watches everything. Secondly, you hadn't
- 10:47Speaker 2: been in the weight room 30 seconds before they honed
- 10:51Speaker 2: in on using. Is that Will Compton? It's Will Compton.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Let's go. Tell him about something from four years ago. Thirdly,
- 10:57Speaker 2: You remember I went like 0-5 picking against Indiana last year.
- 11:00Speaker 2: And Kurt, I don't pay attention to the outside noise.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Signetti group texted his entire coaching staff a video of
- 11:07Speaker 2: me wearing the clown nose at the end of the
- 11:08Speaker 2: year just for fun. I got that on good authority.
- 11:12Speaker 2: My source is the defensive coordinator on the coaching staff.
- 11:15Speaker 2: But I don't want to name names, but I'm just saying.
- 11:17Speaker 4: Which he'll get out there on X and let people know, oh,
- 11:20Speaker 4: we're too small or D-line's too small.
- 11:22Speaker 2: I remember him. which I respect. I'm like, hell yeah.
- 11:25Speaker 4: He's talking some shit on people saying that their D
- 11:27Speaker 4: line is undersized and can't win a game. You just
- 11:30Speaker 4: got to be, this is, this is the defending national champion.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:33Speaker 1: People forget about that. Of course they operate this way.
- 11:36Speaker 1: But do you, is this a point where it's like, yeah,
- 11:40Speaker 1: we know what you think. Like, why don't we just
- 11:42Speaker 1: publicly say it? Cause it's not going to like Cignetti
- 11:45Speaker 1: might see it, but does Nebraska not have the squad
- 11:48Speaker 1: to shock the nation this year? You sat in LSU
- 11:51Speaker 1: team meeting week one.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:53Speaker 4: When they're playing their motivational videos. And they got clips
- 11:57Speaker 4: of media people talking shit about their team.
- 12:00Speaker 1: And I saw the kid four rows up that was
- 12:02Speaker 1: just kind of hitting that straight jacket back up. I'm like,
- 12:05Speaker 1: this kid's a psychopath. I don't even know his name.
- 12:08Speaker 1: But I watched and I was like, if anybody's going
- 12:09Speaker 1: to die on the field on Saturday, it's going to
- 12:10Speaker 1: be this kid.
- 12:11Speaker 2: And it's for the love of the game.
- 12:13Speaker 1: So you're saying you're going to keep it tight and
- 12:16Speaker 1: then wait for the result.
- 12:17Speaker 2: And then once the result happens. You got to wait
- 12:19Speaker 2: for the right time. Do you think Cignetti's like Lane?
- 12:23Speaker 2: in that he screams in your face for 10 minutes.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I don't care what anyone outside this building says. Outside
- 12:27Speaker 2: noise doesn't matter at all. Watch these clips. So great.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I'm sure he's a little bit more polished than that.
- 12:34Speaker 1: So there was a group chat that took place in
- 12:37Speaker 1: Indiana and that leaked to you. It seems like there's
- 12:41Speaker 1: a lot of that going on right now.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Yeah, what you want to do is you want to keep- It.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Seems like a lot of players, people are leaking group chats.
- 12:47Speaker 1: How do you feel about that?
- 12:48Speaker 2: How do you feel about it?
- 12:49Speaker 1: Because I know if you, if any one of us
- 12:51Speaker 1: was in a group chat and you guys said something-
- 12:53Speaker 1: Did your group chat clown?
- 12:55Speaker 2: Yeah, people are like, hey, what do you think about
- 12:56Speaker 2: the Michigan kid?
- 12:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:59Speaker 1: I know this. If we're in a group chat and
- 13:01Speaker 1: I was bitching about somebody, I would fully trust the
- 13:03Speaker 1: both of you to not say a word about it
- 13:05Speaker 1: and keep it between us. This kid has a little
- 13:08Speaker 1: church group and we can't, Okay, everything's little to you.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Little models, little church groups. He's drinking a lot of Dunkin'
- 13:13Speaker 2: Coffee this morning. Sounds like a pretty big group. Big
- 13:16Speaker 2: enough where someone screenshot the contents of the group text.
- 13:19Speaker 1: It was a screenshot and a half. You can't have that, dude.
- 13:23Speaker 1: It's bad. And I wanted to find a way to
- 13:25Speaker 1: weave Michigan into the conversation because to be fair, I'm
- 13:28Speaker 1: broken right now. I don't feel like as excited I
- 13:31Speaker 1: am for you and that optimism that sits there also
- 13:34Speaker 1: with that doubt and that anxiety and the energy that's
- 13:35Speaker 1: about to take place on Saturday. I'm the opposite of
- 13:37Speaker 1: that with my program. I feel empty. I'm on the
- 13:41Speaker 1: side of the road. I have no gas and there's
- 13:43Speaker 1: not a gas station within miles. My phone has a 1% battery.
- 13:46Speaker 2: You don't even want to go anywhere.
- 13:47Speaker 1: You went into the bi-week and you may just keep
- 13:49Speaker 1: on going. Yeah, I was like, oh, I'm so excited
- 13:51Speaker 1: for a bye week. There's not going to be any distractions.
- 13:53Speaker 1: We'll find out what we do as quarterback. And then
- 13:55Speaker 1: I got an ex-Buston intern getting group chats leaked.
- 14:01Speaker 2: I know, that's tough. That's bad to look for even Buston.
- 14:09Speaker 1: It's bad, man.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Anyway. You're on the corner right now and he's not
- 14:14Speaker 2: even holding a sign. He's not even looking for nothing.
- 14:16Speaker 1: And also, dude, Saturday, I'm like laying on my couch.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I'm sad. I'm a sad boy. My kids come in
- 14:20Speaker 1: and check on me and I get a text from
- 14:22Speaker 1: him that made me even more sad. I'm not going
- 14:24Speaker 1: to leak those texts that he sent to me. Nope.
- 14:26Speaker 1: But I will say, there's a great question he asked.
- 14:29Speaker 1: What do you do in this situation? I guess we'll
- 14:32Speaker 1: find out soon. A lot of soul searching going on
- 14:35Speaker 1: in Michigan. A lot of soul searching. A lot of
- 14:36Speaker 1: soul searching. Let's get to the board, huh?
- 14:38Speaker 4: Yes, sir.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Cotton Bowl is taking place. We got the... Texas State
- 14:41Speaker 1: Fair going on. We got Texas at Oklahoma.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Not really at Oklahoma.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Neutral site. Texas is favored by minus 7.5. Total points
- 14:48Speaker 1: in that game is 39.5. This is like an Iowa game.
- 14:50Speaker 1: This is like an Iowa playing Iowa type of game
- 14:52Speaker 1: when it comes to the totals. How do we feel
- 14:53Speaker 1: about this game? Where do we see it going? Mateer
- 14:57Speaker 1: has just been floundering around. Is he as bad as
- 14:59Speaker 1: we think? We bought stock. No, we've lost stock a
- 15:01Speaker 1: little bit. Arch Manning, his stats aren't that much better.
- 15:04Speaker 1: They had 100 total yards and penalties against Tennessee a
- 15:08Speaker 1: couple weeks ago. How do we feel about this game, Will?
- 15:11Speaker 2: I feel like it's Texas, right? Seven and a half?
- 15:15Speaker 2: Is Oklahoma dead?
- 15:16Speaker 4: I'm sitting here next to Josh, who I know bought
- 15:21Speaker 4: John Mateer stock. He's bought it a couple years in
- 15:23Speaker 4: a row. I had Oklahoma in my college football playoff
- 15:25Speaker 4: before the year started. I saw that the fan duel
- 15:28Speaker 4: had him over under seven and a half wins. It's
- 15:30Speaker 4: almost like, hey, is there something up here? Clearly, people
- 15:33Speaker 4: knew that something was up.
- 15:35Speaker 2: What have you.
- 15:36Speaker 4: Talked yourself into with this Oklahoma team? If you're going
- 15:38Speaker 4: to find any rationale for how they can compete in
- 15:41Speaker 4: this game, because.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I feel like.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Texas kind of having the game that they had against
- 15:46Speaker 4: Tennessee where the run game didn't get going. Arch looked
- 15:48Speaker 4: the way he did on the road. A couple of
- 15:50Speaker 4: nice throws. A couple of nice throws for sure. In
- 15:53Speaker 4: my opinion, they do have the run game. They just
- 15:56Speaker 4: didn't show up against Tennessee. So I feel like they've
- 15:59Speaker 4: been sitting on, hey, we got to come in.
- 16:00Speaker 2: We got to be able to run.
- 16:01Speaker 4: The football on this Oklahoma team. To me, I think
- 16:04Speaker 4: they'll be able to. Like I think Arch, he performed
- 16:06Speaker 4: well in this game last year, the red rivalry game.
- 16:10Speaker 4: The shootout, the red rivalry shootout.
- 16:12Speaker 2: All due respect.
- 16:14Speaker 4: To me, this is like a no brainer Texas covering.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Like no brainer Texas covering how many units? I'm gonna
- 16:21Speaker 4: say nine and a half. Hold on.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Okay. The most you can go in units is five.
- 16:29Speaker 2: No, no, I'm moving the line. You're moving the line
- 16:30Speaker 2: to nine and a half. Yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 1: And how many units are you putting on that 9.5?
- 16:35Speaker 1: I'll put four on it.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Four units, all line, minus 9.5.
- 16:41Speaker 4: This defense is for real. We know this stuff about Texas.
- 16:44Speaker 4: And then it's like, okay, how is Oklahoma going to
- 16:46Speaker 4: be able to win this game? Like, I've seen enough. Now,
- 16:51Speaker 4: whether or not in the bye week they figured something
- 16:53Speaker 4: else out, but the creativity on third down, like, they're
- 16:55Speaker 4: going to be able to challenge these receivers to where
- 16:57Speaker 4: John Mateer is going to have to make tight throws.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. He's inaccurate. He's inconsistent.
- 17:02Speaker 4: I won't say he's inaccurate because he does have flashes.
- 17:05Speaker 4: But I don't see how Oklahoma pulls this one out.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Plus 106 on minus 9.5.
- 17:11Speaker 2: You like that?
- 17:12Speaker 4: I do.
- 17:13Speaker 2: You do like that. So in May 22nd is when
- 17:16Speaker 2: these lines first came out. Does anyone want to take
- 17:18Speaker 2: a guess at what the line on this game was
- 17:19Speaker 2: back then?
- 17:21Speaker 1: Probably 9.5 Texas.
- 17:24Speaker 2: The line was Texas minus 6.5. Ooh. Now think about
- 17:27Speaker 2: what the perception of Oklahoma was. You, a lot of people,
- 17:31Speaker 2: thought Oklahoma was a playoff team. And with that, as
- 17:35Speaker 2: the public understanding, the line was Texas minus six and
- 17:37Speaker 2: a half. This line has moved one point since then.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Does that sound right to you? Or does it sound
- 17:43Speaker 2: like something's up? I think it sounds both.
- 17:45Speaker 1: It sounds like something's up. Does it sound right to
- 17:48Speaker 1: you or does it sound like something's up? Could be either.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Hey, black or white? Could be either.
- 17:52Speaker 3: What do you know? Will says it could be either there.
- 17:55Speaker 1: This is Delaney Walker. We don't know what's going to
- 17:57Speaker 1: happen on Saturday.
- 18:03Speaker 2: I just had to pause to appreciate it. 1,095 days
- 18:07Speaker 2: since Oklahoma has scored a touchdown against Texas. 1,095 days.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Both are off a bye. You asked me to make
- 18:15Speaker 2: a case because very clearly I love Texas here. Like
- 18:18Speaker 2: model thinks this number is three points off. So I'll
- 18:21Speaker 2: go ahead and spoil the ending for you. Texas minus
- 18:23Speaker 2: seven and a half is a four unit for me.
- 18:25Speaker 2: So I love Texas. If you want me to make
- 18:29Speaker 2: the Oklahoma case, are you going to take Oklahoma?
- 18:32Speaker 1: I'm not taking it. Okay.
- 18:33Speaker 2: So someone's got to stand up and make the case.
- 18:35Speaker 2: All right. So you know how in college football, not
- 18:38Speaker 2: so much in November, but in early October, sometimes you've
- 18:42Speaker 2: got like four or five games of a sample size.
- 18:45Speaker 2: You think you've figured a team out, but then there's
- 18:47Speaker 2: this performance first half of October, and it just totally
- 18:51Speaker 2: turns the stat sheet on its ear. Because it turns
- 18:54Speaker 2: out that you didn't really know everything you needed to
- 18:56Speaker 2: know about that team. We weren't so far down the
- 18:58Speaker 2: road that they couldn't turn some things around. That happens
- 19:01Speaker 2: all the time in this sport. Theoretically, it could happen
- 19:04Speaker 2: for Oklahoma. Also, if you think about what hasn't worked
- 19:07Speaker 2: that has led to their numbers looking Like this, 131st rushing,
- 19:11Speaker 2: 131st in giveaways, 128th in red zone touchdown percentage, Texas
- 19:15Speaker 2: number one in the country defensively, 109 on third downs,
- 19:18Speaker 2: 107 on explosive plays. So nothing's worked offensively. You're least
- 19:22Speaker 2: incentivized to keep doing what you're doing when what you're
- 19:24Speaker 2: doing doesn't work. So you base your expectation off what
- 19:27Speaker 2: they've been doing. But they're far more likely to have
- 19:30Speaker 2: spent their buy week self-scouting and trying to figure out
- 19:33Speaker 2: different ways to do things. Of course, the catch-22 there
- 19:35Speaker 2: is that may not work either. There's no guarantee if
- 19:38Speaker 2: you change your way of doing things that that way works.
- 19:42Speaker 2: But sometimes it does, is the point. Having said that,
- 19:45Speaker 2: if I'm willing to buy into that logic, and I
- 19:47Speaker 2: don't know that I am, but if I'm willing to
- 19:49Speaker 2: buy into that logic on the Oklahoma side, you also
- 19:51Speaker 2: have to say it about Texas. Just because Texas is
- 19:54Speaker 2: the number one team in the country doesn't mean they've
- 19:55Speaker 2: looked flawless so far. So maybe Texas spent their bye
- 19:58Speaker 2: week improving too. Maybe Texas comes out a little more
- 20:02Speaker 2: explosive offensively. Maybe Arch looks a little bit better. Maybe
- 20:05Speaker 2: completion percentage ticks up for him too. So I can't
- 20:08Speaker 2: buy into something that I haven't seen, even though I
- 20:11Speaker 2: understand something I haven't seen could happen. If Oklahoma wins
- 20:15Speaker 2: that game, even if they just cover and make it close,
- 20:18Speaker 2: it's because they sort of flip the script. And I
- 20:20Speaker 2: acknowledge that's possible, but I'm going to choose to be
- 20:23Speaker 2: surprised by Oklahoma overperforming offensively than just blindly bank on
- 20:27Speaker 2: it and then feel stupid when Texas wins 23 to
- 20:31Speaker 2: six or something like that. So I'm taking Texas minus
- 20:34Speaker 2: seven and a half for four units. Four units, four units.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I know the total's very low here, but I'm actually,
- 20:40Speaker 1: I'm going to take the under 39 and a half.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Oklahoma's 11 of 12 coming off of a bye week
- 20:46Speaker 1: in the last 12 seasons. I do think Oklahoma, as
- 20:50Speaker 1: bad as they are in offense, they're still great on defense.
- 20:52Speaker 1: They do a great job, especially in the run defense
- 20:55Speaker 1: in the middle with Stone. Texas has all the weapons
- 20:58Speaker 1: in the world. We've talked about ad nauseum, the three
- 21:00Speaker 1: wide receivers they have, that Arch Manning, he's got the
- 21:02Speaker 1: Manning last name, and he should be doing more. And
- 21:05Speaker 1: that the run game has gotten better. And then we
- 21:07Speaker 1: get to the Tennessee game. They have so many penalties,
- 21:10Speaker 1: over 100 yards in penalties. They kind of shot themselves
- 21:12Speaker 1: in the foot over and over and over again as
- 21:16Speaker 1: Collins is sitting there doing piss celebrations and getting more
- 21:20Speaker 1: penalties there. It's a good celebration, by the way. It's
- 21:22Speaker 1: a great celebration.
- 21:23Speaker 2: You can't do it.
- 21:24Speaker 1: You can't do it. You've got to wait until the
- 21:25Speaker 1: locker room to do it. Both these teams, rivalry game.
- 21:27Speaker 1: We saw the way it went last year, where it
- 21:29Speaker 1: was really the game was played between the 25s and
- 21:31Speaker 1: no one can really capitalize on getting into the end zone.
- 21:34Speaker 1: And as bad as John Mateer has been, can't get
- 21:38Speaker 1: that much worse. Once you've hit rock bottom, it's like,
- 21:40Speaker 1: It can only go up from there.
- 21:41Speaker 2: That's true. Or you could just stay at rock bottom.
- 21:43Speaker 2: You could just stay at rock bottom.
- 21:45Speaker 1: But Texas being the number one team, they haven't necessarily
- 21:48Speaker 1: shown anything of like the high powered offense that they
- 21:50Speaker 1: should be.
- 21:51Speaker 2: It means they could be better.
- 21:52Speaker 1: It means they could be better. Absolutely. But it's the
- 21:55Speaker 1: penalties for me. It's Arch Manning showing flashes, but not
- 21:57Speaker 1: really putting games together. It's the penalties. And at the
- 22:00Speaker 1: end of the day, like you have more talent than
- 22:02Speaker 1: Oklahoma has on the offensive side of the ball. Yet
- 22:04Speaker 1: it just hasn't clicked yet. Could it click? Yeah, absolutely.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Seeing how confident that both of you are in Texas,
- 22:09Speaker 1: so much that you're moving the line and you're putting
- 22:11Speaker 1: four units on it. Does that make me nervous? No doubt.
- 22:14Speaker 4: But part of me feels like they're hitting the sides
- 22:16Speaker 4: on the way down. They're not even at rock bottom yet.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Oh man. Wow.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I mean, how much farther can you go down?
- 22:22Speaker 2: You could give the ball.
- 22:22Speaker 1: How many times has Mateer and Arbuckle been in the
- 22:24Speaker 1: A gap for us on our Friday show? And they
- 22:27Speaker 1: just continue to get just ran over, over and over
- 22:29Speaker 1: and over again. And we still have to sit here
- 22:31Speaker 1: and be like, they're just hitting the sides. Like maybe
- 22:33Speaker 1: like Oklahoma.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Stops being programmed. We keep wanting to pick them up. Hey,
- 22:35Speaker 2: get back in there.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. And somehow we just keep talking about an
- 22:38Speaker 1: Oklahoma team that we had all these dreams and aspirations for. Yeah,
- 22:42Speaker 1: they get bullied. But like Venables defense is always going
- 22:45Speaker 1: to be solid. They've been great. Muschamp does a great
- 22:48Speaker 1: job of making quarterbacks uncomfortable. I just see this as
- 22:51Speaker 1: a defensive struggle type of game. Texas will win this game.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Do they cover?
- 22:55Speaker 2: Probably.
- 22:56Speaker 1: But more than anything, I look at the total, it's
- 22:57Speaker 1: like kind of no matter where it sat, it was
- 23:00Speaker 1: always the under for me. I didn't look at the
- 23:02Speaker 1: total until like this morning. I was like, yeah, I'm
- 23:04Speaker 1: still going to take 39 and a half. This is
- 23:06Speaker 1: a game to me that's played 25 to 25, some
- 23:07Speaker 1: sort of, penalty takes place or an interception by Mateer.
- 23:12Speaker 1: He like throws the ball while the circus music is playing,
- 23:15Speaker 1: but it's a rivalry game and weird things happen in
- 23:18Speaker 1: rivalry games. They always tend to be closer than we
- 23:19Speaker 1: all think they are.
- 23:20Speaker 2: The one thing that makes, I think the one thing
- 23:22Speaker 2: that makes a lot of people nervous, if you're going
- 23:23Speaker 2: to be on the side that you and I are on,
- 23:25Speaker 2: is your mind remembers how many times things seem so
- 23:29Speaker 2: obvious and then the game plays out another way. I
- 23:32Speaker 2: think it plays a little mind trick on you. College
- 23:34Speaker 2: football history can play a little mind trick on you
- 23:36Speaker 2: sometimes because your mind doesn't remember all the times that
- 23:40Speaker 2: things played out exactly as it seemed like they should go.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Those get filtered out. And the nightmares that remain are
- 23:46Speaker 2: like the Ole Miss, Florida, where, man, how in the
- 23:49Speaker 2: world is Florida favored over Ole Miss? And then they
- 23:51Speaker 2: spank them. People will be scared of that game for
- 23:53Speaker 2: a decade. That will impact people's betting patterns and choosing
- 23:57Speaker 2: picking patterns for a decade. So it's possible, man. It's
- 24:01Speaker 2: possible that it's 14 to 10 or something like that.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I'm just saying, like I wrote on this paper, Can
- 24:07Speaker 2: Oklahoma scratch out 17 points? That's my starting point for Oklahoma.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Can they scratch out 17 points? Which is just an
- 24:14Speaker 2: insane thing to be saying with a returning quarterback and
- 24:16Speaker 2: a returning coordinator, but that's where we are. So I
- 24:19Speaker 2: trust Texas a whole lot more here with the understanding
- 24:22Speaker 2: what you just said could be true. Texas could be
- 24:25Speaker 2: trustworthy and 80% of themselves right now. They could be
- 24:29Speaker 2: ready to scale up and get better. That's what good
- 24:31Speaker 2: teams are supposed to do.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Especially at this time of the year is usually when
- 24:33Speaker 1: you see teams kind of, start that ascension. It's like, oh,
- 24:36Speaker 1: this is a playoff. This is a national championship contender.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Like that week six, seven, eight was when you see
- 24:40Speaker 1: them really start to do this. So I'm going to
- 24:42Speaker 1: take the, I'll take the under in here. I'm going
- 24:43Speaker 1: to go, let's go three units on this. Not overly
- 24:46Speaker 1: confident about it, but maybe I think that's playing into
- 24:48Speaker 1: the psyche of how my last week went with the units.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Makes me a little bit nervous because I got to
- 24:53Speaker 1: right the ship a little bit too.
- 24:54Speaker 2: That's where you got to keep swinging.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Gotta keep swinging. All right, we're gonna end up this
- 24:57Speaker 1: episode to bring you Neutral. Neutral tastes great. It tastes
- 25:00Speaker 1: so much better than any seltzer I've ever tried. It's
- 25:02Speaker 1: made with real vodka and real juice. That's what makes
- 25:04Speaker 1: it taste delicious. They come in a variety of flavors.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Personal favorite to mine, pineapple and lime, but I will
- 25:08Speaker 1: tell you, sneak it in there. I bet by next week,
- 25:10Speaker 1: it's gonna be number one. Blueberry. Perfect for social occasions,
- 25:13Speaker 1: big time crowd pleaser, especially during the summer. Think on
- 25:16Speaker 1: the beach with friends, at an outdoor bar, on the lake,
- 25:19Speaker 1: at a music festival. It's a perfect time of year
- 25:21Speaker 1: to grab a 12 pack of Neutral for the beach
- 25:23Speaker 1: or grab a bucket deal in your favorite bar to
- 25:26Speaker 1: celebrate summer. Neutral, keep it tasty. UCLA, undefeated. At Oregon, well,
- 25:32Speaker 1: not undefeated, but got a whole lot better. Yeah, UCLA's undefeated.
- 25:36Speaker 1: I know, but I said Oregon, not undefeated.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Oh, gotcha, gotcha.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Oregon's favorite minus 11.5 total points in that game is 58.5. William,
- 25:41Speaker 1: how do you feel?
- 25:44Speaker 2: It's the under. This is the under. It's the under.
- 25:47Speaker 4: I'm 0-3 on my last three unders. I picked an
- 25:50Speaker 4: under last week. Miami, Clemson.
- 25:52Speaker 1: By the way, did you watch the end of that game?
- 25:55Speaker 2: Yeah. Did we text? They're kids. Oh, my.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Oh, yes, yes, bro.
- 25:59Speaker 2: They're just kids. That pick six, it's right, God, it's
- 26:02Speaker 2: right there. I talked about it on Bustin' with the Boys.
- 26:05Speaker 4: They're sitting there, the over-under on that game is 47
- 26:07Speaker 4: and a half. They have 47 points total. I see
- 26:10Speaker 4: Dabo in the headset be like, let's go score. And
- 26:13Speaker 4: I'm like, all right, defense, let's just hold up. Stop
- 26:16Speaker 4: them on fourth down, you get the ball back, you
- 26:18Speaker 4: knee it out, it's over with.
- 26:20Speaker 2: So what's his name, Tate Reynolds?
- 26:22Speaker 1: Tate Reynolds.
- 26:23Speaker 4: God throws it on the perimeter. Miami pick six, and
- 26:26Speaker 4: I'm just curling.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Up on my couch, bro. Earlier in the day, I
- 26:32Speaker 2: had a Garbage Time touchdown that hit my over. And
- 26:35Speaker 2: you and I are just.
- 26:36Speaker 3: That was Mizzou, Florida.
- 26:38Speaker 2: We are trashing these kids in text. And then all
- 26:42Speaker 2: of a sudden, the Garbage Time touchdown. I love these kids.
- 26:46Speaker 2: I do anything for these kids. And then they bite
- 26:50Speaker 2: us later in the evening. But this one. First under
- 26:54Speaker 2: is going to hit here. I like the under on
- 26:56Speaker 2: this game. Yeah. Like, uh, but he's like, man, you're
- 26:59Speaker 2: going to give me 11 and a half with UCLA.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Cause they look good. Like they run the football very well,
- 27:03Speaker 2: very effectively. A lot of explosives to me.
- 27:05Speaker 4: It's what is the ceiling of this offense look like
- 27:08Speaker 4: when this explosive run game's not there. Because Oregon coming
- 27:11Speaker 4: out of the bye week, like to me, the way
- 27:13Speaker 4: they looked against USC, like you see a lot more
- 27:15Speaker 4: physicality in the front seven on stopping the run. They
- 27:17Speaker 4: know they're going to have to stop the run. And
- 27:19Speaker 4: also with both of these teams, both of their offenses,
- 27:21Speaker 4: you might see the logo and think Oregon and points
- 27:24Speaker 4: and this and that. But they're also like 110th in
- 27:27Speaker 4: the country when it comes to plays per game. UCLA
- 27:31Speaker 4: is 125th in the country on plays per game. So
- 27:33Speaker 4: I like to slow it down. They're very much a
- 27:35Speaker 4: run team first. Part of me wants to sit there
- 27:38Speaker 4: and kind of pick at UCLA plus 11.5, but what
- 27:41Speaker 4: I love the most is under 58.5 on this game.
- 27:44Speaker 4: Because if Oregon shuts it down, they eliminate the explosive
- 27:46Speaker 4: runs that UCLA has with Wayne Knight. They have a
- 27:49Speaker 4: couple cats that have been running the football well.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Anthony Woods.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Yeah. But they shut that down.
- 27:55Speaker 4: This game really slows down. I like the under here
- 27:58Speaker 4: at 58.5. So I'm going under 58.5. I'm going four units.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. You know, I'm not going to go a total here.
- 28:05Speaker 2: I do respect the under, though. I think I may
- 28:07Speaker 2: lean the under. It feels like a line that is
- 28:11Speaker 2: built to entice UCLA action. Getting double digits with one
- 28:16Speaker 2: of the hottest teams in the country. And I can't
- 28:19Speaker 2: help but feel like the opposite is true. If Oregon
- 28:24Speaker 2: were not to have lost to Oklahoma State, if they
- 28:26Speaker 2: just look like their normal selves, what we think they're
- 28:29Speaker 2: capable of, this number would be like 17 and a
- 28:31Speaker 2: half or something like that. So I actually feel like
- 28:34Speaker 2: we may be getting a little value with Oregon here.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Now that's all predicated on Dan and company coming through
- 28:39Speaker 2: and they're becoming the version of themselves. Maybe like just
- 28:43Speaker 2: a little delayed engine start and it's getting cranked now.
- 28:46Speaker 2: I think, um, not just that they beat USC, but
- 28:51Speaker 2: all of the dynamics that went into that, the galvanization
- 28:54Speaker 2: that had to happen in the fire of your quarterback
- 28:56Speaker 2: goes down and then Raiola comes in and you still
- 28:59Speaker 2: run away from them in their own building. That's a
- 29:01Speaker 2: reminder of who you are. You get on that plane
- 29:03Speaker 2: coming home and you're like, we are Oregon. We are
- 29:06Speaker 2: still Oregon. Then you get a bye week. And frankly,
- 29:10Speaker 2: whether Dante Moore can play, whether it's got to be Raiola,
- 29:13Speaker 2: you're going to have a solid option at quarterback. I
- 29:15Speaker 2: feel like this is going to be a competitive game
- 29:17Speaker 2: first half. maybe even competitive into second half. And then
- 29:21Speaker 2: fourth quarter is Oregon's and they ended up covering that
- 29:23Speaker 2: 11 and a half. I would put two units on that.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Not the most confident pick in the world because I
- 29:29Speaker 2: respect Bob Chesney and I respect their ability to do
- 29:32Speaker 2: absolutely the maximum amount of the pieces they have with
- 29:35Speaker 2: the pieces they have. I just think Oregon's pieces are better.
- 29:37Speaker 2: So I'm going to take two units, Oregon minus 11
- 29:39Speaker 2: and a half.
- 29:40Speaker 1: It does feel like Oregon kind of figured themselves out
- 29:43Speaker 1: and really had that like confidence boost of like, oh,
- 29:45Speaker 1: we are this team that people pick to be a
- 29:46Speaker 1: national championship contender this year against USC.
- 29:49Speaker 2: And they haven't played since then. Yeah.
- 29:51Speaker 1: And I, exactly. And UCLA, like the teams they play,
- 29:54Speaker 1: they've done a great job. Like they're rushing over 200
- 29:56Speaker 1: yards in every single game they play them. Every team
- 29:58Speaker 1: they play, it's like San Diego State, Purdue, Maryland, and Cal.
- 30:03Speaker 1: All those teams are two and three right now. No
- 30:05Speaker 1: one has a winning record. And they've rushed the ball
- 30:08Speaker 1: really well. You brought the two running backs. Knight, I
- 30:11Speaker 1: think he's rushing for over 111 yards per game. He's
- 30:15Speaker 1: like nine yards per carry. So they do a great
- 30:17Speaker 1: job of running the football. And when Nico, when they
- 30:19Speaker 1: give the ball for him to run it, that plus
- 30:21Speaker 1: one is awesome as well. It's like, if you're looking
- 30:25Speaker 1: at this team, you're like, okay, we obviously have to
- 30:27Speaker 1: force UCLA to throw the ball to beat us. And
- 30:30Speaker 1: you look at the Oregon side, like Rayola comes in
- 30:32Speaker 1: when he's at the start of the game plan does
- 30:33Speaker 1: not revolve around him and his, like how he is
- 30:36Speaker 1: as a player. And he goes in and dices up
- 30:38Speaker 1: USC the way he does. Think about this kid now
- 30:40Speaker 1: having extra time, a full game plan revolving around him.
- 30:45Speaker 1: And he still has all the talent in the world.
- 30:46Speaker 1: And Hill, the running back, like people want to talk
- 30:49Speaker 1: about Rayola and how great he played against USC. Like
- 30:52Speaker 1: Hill was the spark plug for that entire thing. Whether
- 30:55Speaker 1: it was offset, wide zone, he would stretch the field
- 30:58Speaker 1: and hit explosives, screen games. But like Rayola was throwing
- 31:02Speaker 1: some great passes there. And if you put on the
- 31:04Speaker 1: film between UCLA and Purdue, there's a lot of throws
- 31:07Speaker 1: to be had. I love Oregon minus 11 and a
- 31:10Speaker 1: half here. I think they found out who they are.
- 31:12Speaker 1: I think they continue to, that snowball effect starts to
- 31:14Speaker 1: take place where they start to make the climb into
- 31:16Speaker 1: the playoffs. I'm going to go four units on this.
- 31:20Speaker 1: And it really is like, I think Oregon has the
- 31:22Speaker 1: ability to stop the run. And then if you're UCLA,
- 31:25Speaker 1: what do you do? Because Nico started slower passing. He's
- 31:28Speaker 1: thrown for like 428 yards the last two games. Like
- 31:31Speaker 1: he's been better with the football through the air. But
- 31:34Speaker 1: I think if you put them in a position where
- 31:35Speaker 1: you have to throw the ball consistently, that's where that
- 31:39Speaker 1: defense that was supposed to be all world can really
- 31:41Speaker 1: show by getting a couple of turnovers and making this
- 31:44Speaker 1: really one-sided.
- 31:45Speaker 4: You guys are kind of talking me into Oregon, but
- 31:46Speaker 4: I'm not going to do that to us because we
- 31:48Speaker 4: can't be across the board.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Can't be across the board.
- 31:50Speaker 2: It's not fun.
- 31:50Speaker 4: It's not fun. Because you're right, when you look at
- 31:52Speaker 4: Wayne Knight, he's got 45 carries for 445 total yards.
- 31:56Speaker 4: Out of six of those carries, he's got 213. So
- 31:58Speaker 4: they're popping you on some of them. And he's a
- 32:00Speaker 4: tough tackle, but to me it's like the entire game
- 32:02Speaker 4: plan is you shut this down or you slow it down.
- 32:05Speaker 2: You saw it last week with Mizzou and Florida.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:07Speaker 2: You do that, it's like what has the offense become? Man,
- 32:10Speaker 2: you want to know how crazy the portal is. I
- 32:12Speaker 2: remember a couple of years ago, it was probably like
- 32:16Speaker 2: after signing day, something like that. Like you're looking at
- 32:18Speaker 2: future rosters. And I remember vividly being on some show.
- 32:21Speaker 2: It wasn't my show, but I was appearing somewhere. And
- 32:23Speaker 2: I said, imagine those future Tennessee-Georgia matchups of Dylan Raiola
- 32:29Speaker 2: versus Nico Amaliava. Because at the time, Raiola was committed
- 32:32Speaker 2: to Georgia. Nico was headed to Tennessee. And now Raiola
- 32:37Speaker 2: is two stops removed from having, well, he's never technically
- 32:41Speaker 2: at Georgia. He decommitted. He goes to Nebraska. That doesn't work.
- 32:43Speaker 2: He's at Oregon now. And Nico's long since left Knoxville.
- 32:46Speaker 2: And they still end up potentially going at each other.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Just think about the money. Think about the FanDuel prop
- 32:51Speaker 2: bet you could have had if you bet. Yeah, these
- 32:53Speaker 2: two dudes will see each other down the road. in Eugene, Oregon,
- 32:56Speaker 2: as UCLA comes to town. Right. Crazy.
- 32:58Speaker 1: An old Pac-12 matchup taking place.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Old school.
- 33:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Nice researcher. Nice dig right there. Yeah, that was nice.
- 33:05Speaker 1: I do love Oregon in this spot, man. Do we
- 33:08Speaker 1: know who's playing at the quarterback spot? I know Dante's
- 33:11Speaker 1: been practicing. Yeah. I mean, he could play. I think
- 33:16Speaker 1: if you're Oregon, you see what Rayola's done, it's like,
- 33:19Speaker 1: you don't want to bench Dante, but it's like, let's
- 33:20Speaker 1: focus on his health. That should be the whole thing. Hey,
- 33:22Speaker 1: we're going to make sure he's good.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Yep.
- 33:24Speaker 1: And then kind of see what you have with Rayola.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Cause if he goes out and does, was it 289
- 33:28Speaker 1: in the second half? Like he looked good. To where
- 33:31Speaker 1: it's like, you know, if you're Dante, it's like you're
- 33:33Speaker 1: waking up and you're like, I got to get back
- 33:35Speaker 1: as fast as possible.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Imagine the group text then.
- 33:37Speaker 4: But Oregon keeps it tight, they don't leak it. I
- 33:40Speaker 4: feel like that's why he's practicing. He's almost kind of
- 33:42Speaker 4: see what's out there. It's like, hey buddy, you better
- 33:43Speaker 4: get your ass back out there.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Houston at Kansas State. Kansas State is favored minus two
- 33:49Speaker 1: and a half total points in the game. It's 55
- 33:51Speaker 1: and a half. Kansas State, you're a sneaky team in
- 33:53Speaker 1: the Big 12 a year in and a year out.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Yeah, that's where I'm going. Okay. Kansas State, minus two
- 33:58Speaker 2: and a half.
- 33:59Speaker 4: All right. I like Kline. I like Avery Johnson. And again,
- 34:04Speaker 4: losing to Cincinnati last week I think is a good
- 34:06Speaker 4: thing for them. So you're giving me them with a
- 34:08Speaker 4: minus two and a half. Like I'm going Kansas State.
- 34:10Speaker 4: Wounded animal theory. Yeah, kind of wounded animal, but more
- 34:12Speaker 4: just like the culture's building for Kansas State and Coach Kline.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 34:16Speaker 4: So I'm going, to me, this is simple. I'm not
- 34:19Speaker 4: going with, is it, you pronounce it Wiegman or Wegman?
- 34:22Speaker 2: Wegman. I'm not betting on Wegman. You're not betting. No, no,
- 34:25Speaker 2: I'm not betting on Wegman.
- 34:25Speaker 1: You would take Wegman over Johnson as your quarterback. No,
- 34:30Speaker 1: I'm taking Johnson over Wegman. But I'm saying, okay, if
- 34:33Speaker 1: you're building a team, you're going to take Johnson over Wegman.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay? Yeah.
- 34:37Speaker 1: I love Houston. I love Houston to win this game outright.
- 34:41Speaker 1: I like Wegman. I like how their ability to run
- 34:44Speaker 1: the ball, and I think Wegman's a better quarterback throwing
- 34:46Speaker 1: the ball. They have a bit of a scare against
- 34:48Speaker 1: UCF last week. They're down 17-0 in the third quarter.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Come back, win that game 27-17. Kansas State, it's all
- 34:56Speaker 1: about running the ball with Johnson. It is going to
- 34:59Speaker 1: fall completely on his shoulders, whether they're able to win
- 35:01Speaker 1: this game and be able to cover. And at the
- 35:04Speaker 1: end of the day, like you see Houston against Texas
- 35:06Speaker 1: Tech and they could have won that game. They should
- 35:09Speaker 1: have probably won that game. And there's a lot better
- 35:12Speaker 1: than I think, than a lot of people think in
- 35:15Speaker 1: the Big 12. Everyone thought it was Texas Tech than
- 35:17Speaker 1: everybody else. I think Houston's in that category of shortening
- 35:19Speaker 1: that gap and they're going to show it on the road.
- 35:21Speaker 1: So I like Moneyline, Houston. Let me do three units
- 35:26Speaker 1: on that.
- 35:26Speaker 2: Three Unitos. You know that UCF Houston game. Two units.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Two units for you? I don't think people realize this,
- 35:33Speaker 2: but that Houston UCF game is a real bad blood game.
- 35:36Speaker 2: It's the space game. Because both places think that they're
- 35:39Speaker 2: the capital of space travel. And I'm like, dude, Huntsville's
- 35:42Speaker 2: got a rocket on the side of the road. What
- 35:43Speaker 2: about Huntsville? But that's neither here nor there. I'm with you.
- 35:47Speaker 2: I'm going to go Houston plus two and a half,
- 35:49Speaker 2: so I'm not going to quite go Moneyline. Bake in
- 35:51Speaker 2: room for a 28 to 26 Kansas State win. But
- 35:55Speaker 2: I think there's a coaching dynamics edge here, too. Nothing
- 35:58Speaker 2: against Colin Klein. I actually think the world of the dude.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Look how Texas A & M looks without him this year.
- 36:03Speaker 2: But you've got, it's a classic example, seasoned veteran Willie Fritz,
- 36:07Speaker 2: first year guy in Colin Klein. I trust Houston. They've
- 36:10Speaker 2: already been pretty battle tested. Remember, they've already gone on
- 36:13Speaker 2: the road and played a really close down to the
- 36:15Speaker 2: wire game with Texas Tech. So it's not unfamiliar territory
- 36:18Speaker 2: for them. I actually think they got a quarterback edge
- 36:20Speaker 2: in this game. So I'm going to be the soul
- 36:22Speaker 2: that's brave enough to roll with Connor Wegman. Every time
- 36:26Speaker 2: I mention Avery Johnson, there are a couple of Avery
- 36:28Speaker 2: Johnson fan accounts out there that really ride me.
- 36:32Speaker 1: It's riding by his dad.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Yeah, probably so. I'm not going to disparage the good
- 36:35Speaker 2: name of Avery Johnson. Don't do that. I'm going to
- 36:38Speaker 2: build up Conor Wegman. You know what? I was going
- 36:40Speaker 2: to slap the table. I'll go four units on this.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Four units?
- 36:44Speaker 2: I feel really good about Houston. Okay. You feel really good.
- 36:47Speaker 2: You feel that good about Wegman. I like Wegman a lot.
- 36:50Speaker 2: I personally think he's a turnover waiting to happen.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Really?
- 36:53Speaker 1: He's only had one interception.
- 36:54Speaker 2: It was in week one. I know.
- 36:55Speaker 1: It's Oregon State. He's had 11 touchdowns since then.
- 36:57Speaker 2: I see these things, man. You see. I see these things.
- 37:01Speaker 1: You're seeing the board clearly.
- 37:02Speaker 2: You're going to check that box score on Saturday. It's
- 37:04Speaker 2: going to be two picks. I just think it's interesting
- 37:06Speaker 2: that we sat here last weekend. We were talking about
- 37:08Speaker 2: Austin Simmons and a certain someone. There's no reason to
- 37:10Speaker 2: name names. Certain someone said, Austin Simmons is a turnover
- 37:13Speaker 2: waiting to happen. And all he did was hang like, what,
- 37:16Speaker 2: half a hundred on Florida? open heart surgery on that floor.
- 37:21Speaker 2: People all of a sudden just stopped making eye contact
- 37:22Speaker 2: with me on set when I started bringing that up.
- 37:24Speaker 3: People are a little nervous. You were in the fodder
- 37:27Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 37:28Speaker 1: I was sitting there and I was like, I'll sit
- 37:30Speaker 1: with Cody a little bit.
- 37:31Speaker 2: I'm not talking about Cody. I was wrong about Austin Simmons.
- 37:35Speaker 2: I'm just talking about my guy right here. You said
- 37:37Speaker 2: he's a turnover waiting to happen. And the group text
- 37:42Speaker 2: heard it. It's still, it's up there. He still is.
- 37:45Speaker 1: He did a great job last week.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Who were they playing? He was a surgeon.
- 37:48Speaker 1: He was balling last week. They play A & M
- 37:50Speaker 1: this week.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Just big upset. I don't know where it comes.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Well, I'm not saying big upset, but I bet you
- 37:54Speaker 1: he's got one.
- 37:55Speaker 2: I bet you he's got one.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I bet you he's got one. And I'm an Austin
- 37:59Speaker 1: Simmons guy. You're going to point at me during the show.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Austin Simmons guy?
- 38:03Speaker 4: I am.
- 38:03Speaker 2: Are you serious? You can't claim Austin Simmons guy, bro.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Why not, dude?
- 38:07Speaker 4: He's mine.
- 38:08Speaker 3: Last week when we was in there, you had him lower.
- 38:09Speaker 1: I can't say. Listen, I can't be held. We've sat
- 38:12Speaker 1: on this show. And have literally said, our bets, we
- 38:15Speaker 1: can't be held accountable for our bets of the words
- 38:17Speaker 1: that are said. Then all of a sudden, you claim
- 38:18Speaker 1: Austin Simmons. I'm like, he probably shouldn't be that high
- 38:20Speaker 1: in your SEC quarterback thing. And all of a sudden,
- 38:22Speaker 1: I'm the bad guy?
- 38:24Speaker 4: Well, last week, he looked like he belonged in the
- 38:26Speaker 4: top four on that SEC list.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Week to week, man. I think he's got one in him.
- 38:30Speaker 2: He's got one pick in him.
- 38:31Speaker 1: And you guys are basically making me against. I'm sitting
- 38:34Speaker 1: here going, hey, I was putting my hand up going,
- 38:35Speaker 1: I was wrong. And as I'm putting my hand up,
- 38:37Speaker 1: you're going, you did this.
- 38:39Speaker 4: You did this.
- 38:40Speaker 2: And that's where you put your hand up and say, hey,
- 38:42Speaker 2: I was wrong.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I was wrong about last week.
- 38:44Speaker 2: This dude's going to throw one ball, perfectly thrown, tips
- 38:47Speaker 2: off a wide receiver's chest into a DB's hands, and it's.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Going to be told you, bro, before the ball even
- 38:54Speaker 1: gets returned. I hope Missouri wins that game. I hope
- 38:56Speaker 1: Austin Simmons does great, but I need him to give
- 38:57Speaker 1: me one.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Just one.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Don't have interception. Fumble it. Just fumble it. Strip sack fumble.
- 39:02Speaker 1: It's not even really on him. I'm like, told y'all.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Told y'all.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Told y'all.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Drop him.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Sleep on him. Marcel Reed, legacy game loading.
- 39:09Speaker 4: It's like coaches talking about running backs and feeling like, hey,
- 39:12Speaker 4: he's a fumbler. He just doesn't know it yet.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 39:14Speaker 2: He hasn't coughed it up yet, but he's going.
- 39:16Speaker 1: He wants to give you one. There's a quarterback on
- 39:19Speaker 1: this slate that has no interception so far, and I'm
- 39:21Speaker 1: telling you, he's due. He is due, and we'll get
- 39:24Speaker 1: to that game in just a little bit. Huge Austin
- 39:27Speaker 1: Simmons guy. Big fan of him.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Big.
- 39:28Speaker 1: He's got one coming.
- 39:29Speaker 2: He's got one.
- 39:30Speaker 1: One right in the defensive hands.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Houston houston houston plus go money line dude i don't
- 39:38Speaker 2: want to be there what does your tiny itty bitty
- 39:40Speaker 2: computer say about it uh it likes houston He does?
- 39:42Speaker 2: He likes Houston.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Does he like Houston Moneyline?
- 39:44Speaker 2: I love that you went 0-2 betting the itty-bitty computer.
- 39:46Speaker 3: I know.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I looked at it. I was so excited on Friday.
- 39:48Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, cool. Let me look at some technology
- 39:50Speaker 1: with you.
- 39:50Speaker 2: You picked the wrong games. Which ones did he go
- 39:53Speaker 2: with on the injury? Syracuse. Which is the right side,
- 39:56Speaker 2: by the way. I can't be held responsible.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Syracuse minus 6.5. They won the last play of the game.
- 40:00Speaker 1: And what was the other one?
- 40:01Speaker 4: Stanford.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Stanford. Stanford plus 30.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Clump had some qualms with you on Monday.
- 40:06Speaker 3: He's like, kids can't go to college.
- 40:07Speaker 4: He goes, hey, do I check Josh's paper giving me
- 40:09Speaker 4: Stanford last year?
- 40:10Speaker 1: And Josh is sitting there and he's like, I look
- 40:12Speaker 1: at the monitor and it's like far enough away to
- 40:13Speaker 1: where my eyes aren't really seeing it. He's like, you
- 40:15Speaker 1: see how it's green right here? I'm like, all three
- 40:17Speaker 1: of these are green and it says this. Like that is...
- 40:20Speaker 1: That's one you bet right there. Like when you feel
- 40:21Speaker 1: that way and my itty bitty tiny little computer says it,
- 40:24Speaker 1: like this is when you go. I'm like, all right, perfect.
- 40:26Speaker 1: I'll put those bets in. Put those bets in an
- 40:28Speaker 1: hour before our show on Friday started. Felt so great
- 40:30Speaker 1: about it. Sent them to multiple friends too. Tender Technini
- 40:33Speaker 1: lost a couple of dollars too. I said to my boy,
- 40:35Speaker 1: I was like, bets of the week right here. This
- 40:39Speaker 1: is it. And I have to text him and he's like,
- 40:43Speaker 1: you don't respect my computer. That's why you lost.
- 40:45Speaker 2: What was the final? It was like 50 something to three.
- 40:49Speaker 3: I saw they were down 50 and I was like
- 40:50Speaker 3: 40 plus and.
- 40:51Speaker 2: I just shook my head. Can I say this about
- 40:54Speaker 2: that game though? I think we were on the wrong
- 40:56Speaker 2: side of that one.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Your computer said it was all greens.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Travel. Early East Coast kickoff. I just don't think Stanford
- 41:03Speaker 2: was ready.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Where is this logic before the game?
- 41:08Speaker 2: You got to follow all... Do we need to put
- 41:10Speaker 2: up my stats again?
- 41:11Speaker 1: You can put them up.
- 41:12Speaker 2: That's what my computer has given me.
- 41:15Speaker 1: I think I found the way to destroy you, dude,
- 41:17Speaker 1: is I'm going to follow every bet you take. I'm
- 41:19Speaker 1: going to send every single one, and there's going to
- 41:21Speaker 1: be muffins all over the board.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Which model am I showing you? Evil Mobble?
- 41:25Speaker 1: Dork Mobble? You clapped before you did the same bet
- 41:30Speaker 1: as me.
- 41:30Speaker 4: You're poor.
- 41:30Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, get him.
- 41:31Speaker 1: I was like, dude, you took Stanford as well.
- 41:34Speaker 4: Josh had his third straight week of plus eight units
- 41:38Speaker 4: and still has yet to have a negative weekend.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Sounds like somebody's due. Sounds like we got an Austin Simonson.
- 41:44Speaker 1: I am the Austin Simonson. You're due for a game.
- 41:47Speaker 2: I win several losable picks. I just haven't lost yet. Yeah.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Man.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Anyway, dude. What do we got?
- 41:55Speaker 4: No, not the.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Is it Nebraska?
- 41:58Speaker 1: Who's ready for Bama, Georgia?
- 42:00Speaker 4: This Saturday on FanDuel Predicts, trade $ 25 on Bama versus
- 42:03Speaker 4: Georgia and get $ 1 in bonus for every point scored.
- 42:09Speaker 4: The last meeting totaled 75 points. If they do that again,
- 42:13Speaker 4: that's $ 75 in bonus bets. A touchdown, that's $ 6 in bonus.
- 42:17Speaker 4: Extra point, another dollar. Field goal, that's three more dollars.
- 42:21Speaker 4: Every point adds to your bonus, so keep your eyes
- 42:24Speaker 4: on the scoreboard. More points means more bonus. Download FanDuel
- 42:28Speaker 4: and bring on the points.
- 42:29Speaker 2: What about the Gravely?
- 42:30Speaker 1: Let's do the Gravely Game of the Week. Talk about
- 42:32Speaker 1: buying a lawnmower real quick. Okay. Zero turn, nine degrees.
- 42:35Speaker 1: You got the big thing. Go get yourself a lawnmower.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Gravely Game of the Week. Georgia at Alabama. Alabama is
- 42:43Speaker 1: a dog at home. Georgia's favorite. Both of these say plus.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Alabama's favorite, minus one and a half. Total points in
- 42:51Speaker 1: that game, 52 and a half. There's a hurricane taking place.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Yep.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Cat one, cat two. Is that what I'm saying?
- 42:57Speaker 2: Probably Cat 2 at Landfall, yeah.
- 42:58Speaker 1: And so is there a conversation about them moving this
- 43:00Speaker 1: to Sunday?
- 43:01Speaker 4: Nope.
- 43:02Speaker 1: No, this game is happening on Saturday.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Well, actually, as you and I are speaking, there's a
- 43:08Speaker 2: conference that started 31 minutes ago that I won't be
- 43:10Speaker 2: privy to the details of until we get off air.
- 43:12Speaker 2: But I'm pretty confident in saying that game will go
- 43:14Speaker 2: off as scheduled at the scheduled kickoff time.
- 43:16Speaker 1: And we got sideways rain taking place?
- 43:18Speaker 4: Nope.
- 43:19Speaker 2: I think we'll be okay. I think we'll be dry
- 43:21Speaker 2: most of the game.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Most of the game.
- 43:22Speaker 2: I think it'll push through. I think we'll be good
- 43:25Speaker 2: most of the game. I think you may have some
- 43:27Speaker 2: wind to deal with. Not terrible. Probably decreases throughout the game.
- 43:31Speaker 2: I'm choosing to look at this game as if weather's
- 43:33Speaker 2: not a factor.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Really?
- 43:34Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm choosing to just view it straight up.
- 43:36Speaker 1: So if that's the logic you're bringing, the logic is
- 43:40Speaker 1: Alabama minus one and a half.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Is it? Yeah. It's not what the model thinks.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Well, your model and I are in a big fight.
- 43:46Speaker 1: What's your model thing?
- 43:48Speaker 2: Model thinks that Georgia wins the game by two. Oh, really?
- 43:53Speaker 1: Do you agree with your model?
- 43:54Speaker 2: I don't. You think Alabama. My model's been terrible in
- 43:58Speaker 2: Alabama all year. Really? It thought Mississippi State Bama was
- 44:02Speaker 2: a straight-up pick-em last week. It thought Mississippi State was
- 44:05Speaker 2: one of the best picks on the board. It thought
- 44:07Speaker 2: Kentucky was the right side. It did think Florida State
- 44:10Speaker 2: was the right side, and it was right there. But
- 44:12Speaker 2: it's just been off. I think it's undervalued. How could
- 44:14Speaker 2: you know properly how to value Keelan Russell? Fair point.
- 44:18Speaker 2: This is the model speaking through me. I'm like, I
- 44:20Speaker 2: knew what was coming all along. The model didn't know
- 44:22Speaker 2: what was coming, though. So yeah, I'm fighting. There's an
- 44:27Speaker 2: internal fight just in the family here, the Pace State family,
- 44:30Speaker 2: of model versus eyeballs and what we've seen so far.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Have you watched Gunnar Stockton play this year? Oh, yeah.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Have you seen how in this world where your Marcel
- 44:40Speaker 2: Reeds look worse, your Lenora Sellers look worse, Gunnar Stockton
- 44:45Speaker 2: was good last year and has gotten better. Completion percentage
- 44:51Speaker 2: is up, yards per attempt up, even his rushing numbers
- 44:54Speaker 2: are up. So to me, one of two big questions
- 44:58Speaker 2: in this from an Alabama defensive standpoint is, does Georgia
- 45:03Speaker 2: just stay on schedule? They ruthlessly stay on schedule. They're
- 45:06Speaker 2: so efficient. Alabama's got the number 10 run defense in
- 45:09Speaker 2: the country. Is that real? You're not going to stone Georgia.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Do you limit them enough running the ball where they're
- 45:15Speaker 2: in a bunch of third and eights all evening? Because
- 45:18Speaker 2: I don't like their odds if it's that way. I
- 45:21Speaker 2: think Bama, if you keep them off schedule because of
- 45:24Speaker 2: how dynamic they are at quarterback and how good they
- 45:26Speaker 2: are at receiver, I feel better about them converting third
- 45:30Speaker 2: and eight plus than I do Georgia. So that's my
- 45:32Speaker 2: first question. My second question is, if you've watched these
- 45:36Speaker 2: secondaries play so far this year, wide receiver ones have
- 45:39Speaker 2: gotten after Alabama, but wide receiver ones have kind of
- 45:42Speaker 2: quietly gotten after Georgia a little bit too. So Georgia,
- 45:45Speaker 2: the perception is, oh, they don't have a game breaker
- 45:47Speaker 2: at receiver, which may be true. But they've got a
- 45:51Speaker 2: ton of different guys who have contributed already. They had
- 45:53Speaker 2: eight guys against Vanderbilt catch two or more balls. But
- 45:57Speaker 2: Talon Taylor is the only player they've had in any
- 46:00Speaker 2: game this year go over 75 receiving yards. So in
- 46:04Speaker 2: that game last year, Talon Taylor dropped a wide open
- 46:07Speaker 2: touchdown that would have given them the lead in Athens.
- 46:09Speaker 2: And so it doesn't take 15 balls being caught. It
- 46:12Speaker 2: takes once or twice getting behind the defense. I just
- 46:15Speaker 2: think it's a point trading game. I'm not going over,
- 46:18Speaker 2: although I do think the over actually is the side here.
- 46:22Speaker 2: I think that you've got to keep up if you're Georgia.
- 46:25Speaker 2: You cannot bank on limiting them because you got every
- 46:29Speaker 2: so often a dynamic enough athlete at quarterback. Trinidad Chambliss
- 46:33Speaker 2: was this last year where it kind of throws all
- 46:36Speaker 2: your rules and all your principles defensively into a blender
- 46:39Speaker 2: because you can do everything right and they still bite you.
- 46:41Speaker 2: You saw that in the Sugar Bowl when they played
- 46:42Speaker 2: Ole Miss and they lost. I think you've got that
- 46:45Speaker 2: in play here as well. I remain to be seen.
- 46:49Speaker 2: I remain in the to be seen camp, whether Georgia
- 46:53Speaker 2: can trade points and keep up in a game like this.
- 46:56Speaker 2: So my lean is actually Bama minus one and a half.
- 46:58Speaker 2: I think right now they're just the better team and
- 47:01Speaker 2: they've got home field. And that's why I'll go minus
- 47:04Speaker 2: one and a half. I'll do three units on that.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Okay, you feel good about it?
- 47:08Speaker 2: I feel pretty good about it.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Kaelin Du Bois got a nice little record against Georgia
- 47:12Speaker 1: right now.
- 47:12Speaker 2: He does.
- 47:12Speaker 1: He's got Kirby Smart. And I do, like, I think, like,
- 47:16Speaker 1: the thing about the weather for me is the biggest
- 47:18Speaker 1: question mark that I have because, like, Alabama has been incredible.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Keelan Russell has been awesome. He's not only like, he's
- 47:26Speaker 1: throwing the deep ball really well, but he's like really
- 47:29Speaker 1: smart with the football where it goes. He has a
- 47:30Speaker 1: great time clock in his head of when the rush
- 47:32Speaker 1: is getting to him and being able to get out
- 47:35Speaker 1: and make it happen with their legs. They've been way
- 47:37Speaker 1: better in 12 and 13 personnel of running the football.
- 47:40Speaker 1: I think like 50, 51%, 48% in that 12 to
- 47:43Speaker 1: 13 personnel range, which is just awesome. I don't know
- 47:46Speaker 1: if that works as well against Georgia. And where the
- 47:48Speaker 1: weather factor comes into play is, Georgia's kind of like
- 47:51Speaker 1: hurricane proof when it comes to their offense. Because you said,
- 47:54Speaker 1: go to Stockton, his yards per attempt are more this year.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Last year, 31% of his passes were behind the line
- 47:59Speaker 1: of scrimmage. This year, it's 38%. Where it's actually gotten more.
- 48:03Speaker 1: So that tells me multiple things. They're still doing the
- 48:05Speaker 1: Mike Bobo perimeter, but they're taking more shots. And Taylor
- 48:08Speaker 1: and Taylor, I think him against man coverage, he's pretty unbelievable.
- 48:14Speaker 1: This kid's got speed. He runs crispy routes. I like
- 48:17Speaker 1: them a lot. I think there's just a way for
- 48:18Speaker 1: Georgia to wear down this Alabama defense with their offensive line,
- 48:22Speaker 1: like they're road graders. I don't love them as much
- 48:26Speaker 1: in pass pro, but that's where Gunnar Stockton comes into play. He's,
- 48:28Speaker 1: I think, equally as good, if not better than Keelan Russell,
- 48:30Speaker 1: of having the understanding of when a rush is getting
- 48:34Speaker 1: to him. So when the weather's good, though, I like
- 48:38Speaker 1: Keelan Russell. I like the ability to push the ball
- 48:41Speaker 1: down the field and take points. And we saw a
- 48:43Speaker 1: perfect example of that against Kamario Taylor. I kind of
- 48:47Speaker 1: like Georgia.
- 48:49Speaker 2: In this.
- 48:50Speaker 1: I like Georgia. I think their issue still is rushing
- 48:53Speaker 1: the passer, but I'm uncomfortable with this game. You look
- 48:57Speaker 1: at both teams, you see multiple ways for both teams
- 48:59Speaker 1: to kind of win this game outright. I just think
- 49:03Speaker 1: Georgia and Gunnar Stockton being a multi-year starter, understanding what
- 49:08Speaker 1: they're supposed to do. They just seem calm. They're the
- 49:10Speaker 1: number two scoring offense in college football. The one thing
- 49:14Speaker 1: I think they've gotten way better at from last year
- 49:16Speaker 1: to this year is first and second quarter. being able
- 49:19Speaker 1: to start faster being able to push the ball down
- 49:21Speaker 1: the field a little bit better and just staying on
- 49:24Speaker 1: schedule so i'll take georgia i'll take georgia money line
- 49:28Speaker 1: but it's going to be like a two units i'm
- 49:31Speaker 1: not overly confident about this game i hope the weather's
- 49:33Speaker 1: good because i think there's If the weather is good,
- 49:36Speaker 1: then it kind of is Alabama.
- 49:37Speaker 2: You remember last year when Georgia went on the road
- 49:39Speaker 2: to Tennessee kind of early in the year? Tennessee misses
- 49:42Speaker 2: like a walk-off field goal, and Georgia wins, I think,
- 49:45Speaker 2: in overtime. But it was a back-and-forth. Georgia needed 40
- 49:47Speaker 2: to win the game. I think this could be like that.
- 49:51Speaker 2: And one of the things you said that I forgot
- 49:52Speaker 2: until you mentioned it that kind of leaned me towards
- 49:55Speaker 2: Alabama is Keelan Russell's had a lot of time to
- 49:58Speaker 2: throw this year, and there's no defense that stands up
- 50:02Speaker 2: against him having a lot of time to throw. They're
- 50:05Speaker 2: like in the 80s in pressure rate so far this year.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Georgia is. And that worries me a lot. Like if
- 50:11Speaker 2: I'm looking for a reason for Georgia, I want it
- 50:14Speaker 2: to be a Georgia game. A Georgia game to me
- 50:16Speaker 2: is you hold them to 20, 24 points. You get
- 50:19Speaker 2: your 27 to 30. You get out of there with
- 50:21Speaker 2: a win. I think Bam is getting into the 30s
- 50:23Speaker 2: because I don't think they can affect him enough. But
- 50:26Speaker 2: I'm also not ignorant enough to not think first year starter, quarterback,
- 50:31Speaker 2: fifth or sixth start. Kirby and Schumann have been doing
- 50:34Speaker 2: this a combined million years. They could just throw something
- 50:37Speaker 2: at this dude that puts his head in a blender.
- 50:39Speaker 2: I get that could happen. But that always is accompanied
- 50:43Speaker 2: by you affect him. You get to him. They get
- 50:47Speaker 2: to him, it's a whole new game. But I don't
- 50:49Speaker 2: know that they can consistently, and that's what kind of
- 50:51Speaker 2: worried me.
- 50:51Speaker 1: The thing that is kind of like, I don't know
- 50:55Speaker 1: if it's a crowbar theory, but being able to affect
- 50:57Speaker 1: Keelan Russell is those two linebackers.
- 50:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:59Speaker 1: What was it? Was it Chris Cole? Chris Cole. Chris Cole,
- 51:04Speaker 1: you showed it in the show. Number nine, number five,
- 51:05Speaker 1: they can both run. Yeah, they both are like 22 miles.
- 51:07Speaker 1: They both clocked at over 22 miles an hour. So
- 51:10Speaker 1: you can put one of those guys as a spy
- 51:13Speaker 1: on Keelan Russell. So if the pressure does inevitably get
- 51:16Speaker 1: to him eventually, when he goes to run, there are
- 51:18Speaker 1: cats that can run with him and kind of silence
- 51:21Speaker 1: that running portion of their game.
- 51:23Speaker 2: Can you imagine if we get a moment where Russell's
- 51:26Speaker 2: in the open field and it's Chris Cole? Could Chris
- 51:30Speaker 2: Cole hawk him? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Can you imagine that?
- 51:33Speaker 1: That's a deer.
- 51:34Speaker 4: Bro, the effort that he shows, even last week against Vandy,
- 51:38Speaker 4: there's one that he's humming down on the sideline. And
- 51:40Speaker 4: I'm just like, bro, this dude's effort, too. Like, you
- 51:45Speaker 4: have all the talent in the world. But when this
- 51:46Speaker 4: guy's showing up and flashing on the screen on just
- 51:49Speaker 4: minimal plays where the quarterback's running for the sideline, and it's,
- 51:52Speaker 4: you know, it's only like a few-yard gain. But he's, like,
- 51:55Speaker 4: hawking him down, like, from the line of scrimmage. I
- 51:58Speaker 4: actually shot him a DM. I said, I love your
- 52:00Speaker 4: fucking efforts.
- 52:01Speaker 2: What'd he say? He put one of these emojis. Oh, shit.
- 52:07Speaker 2: All right, real quick. That's Lucy.
- 52:08Speaker 1: That's my go-to flavor. They got that little bite and
- 52:10Speaker 1: burst that hits you with a bunch of flavor and
- 52:12Speaker 1: it's long lasting. Absolutely amazing. Pre-workout, post-workout, need a little
- 52:16Speaker 1: kick while I'm focusing. It's the perfect time. It's every time.
- 52:19Speaker 1: And that's when you want to lock in. These bad
- 52:21Speaker 1: boys right here, they go up to 12 milligrams. So
- 52:23Speaker 1: if you need a little extra boost during the day,
- 52:25Speaker 1: they've got you covered. The thing I love about this brand,
- 52:28Speaker 1: independently owned, family operated. They're not some big tobacco brand
- 52:32Speaker 1: trying to play dress up. That's why I love Lucy.
- 52:34Speaker 1: Let's get into some fine print here. Lucy products are
- 52:37Speaker 1: for adults of legal age. Every customer is age verified. Warning,
- 52:40Speaker 1: this product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical.
- 52:43Speaker 4: Quick break from the episode to shout out Jack Daniels.
- 52:46Speaker 4: No free shout outs to Jack Daniels. Whether I'm at
- 52:48Speaker 4: a tailgate or on the couch watching Nebraska or Michigan
- 52:51Speaker 4: on Saturday, Michigan's on a bite week, so you won't
- 52:53Speaker 4: even be watching that game on Saturday. Jack Daniels is
- 52:55Speaker 4: a staple on my game day roster. Expand your playbook
- 52:59Speaker 4: with the cinnamon kick of Jack Fire, the smooth taste
- 53:02Speaker 4: of Jack Honey, the crisp and refreshing Jack Apple, and
- 53:05Speaker 4: the only BlackBerry bursting with Jack. Personally, I'm a fan
- 53:10Speaker 4: of the Jack Honey. It is my favorite. It is
- 53:12Speaker 4: my go-to. That's the type of guy I am on
- 53:14Speaker 4: game day. No matter how you stack your unit, there's
- 53:16Speaker 4: a Jack for every football fan. Shout out Jack Daniels.
- 53:19Speaker 2: Back to this episode. Let's go. But it just, dude,
- 53:22Speaker 2: it fires me up. Like somebody, you know how it is.
- 53:24Speaker 4: You see all these guys with so much ability, but
- 53:27Speaker 4: do they do it on the plays? It's like they're,
- 53:30Speaker 4: you know, they're plays you don't even notice. They're plays
- 53:32Speaker 4: you're not even like looking up on the screen. Of
- 53:34Speaker 4: course we can see the fumble recovery. We can see
- 53:36Speaker 4: him hawking down the tier when it's like a God
- 53:39Speaker 4: have it moment. But like the, you know, the ones
- 53:41Speaker 4: in between. The plays that don't really matter.
- 53:43Speaker 1: Where he's going to go out of bounds two, three
- 53:45Speaker 1: yards downfield.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:46Speaker 1: But he's still at a different gear. I think it's
- 53:48Speaker 1: just incredible watching him in that front seven and watching
- 53:51Speaker 1: guys full sprint. And he is just truly moving at
- 53:54Speaker 1: a way faster rate.
- 53:56Speaker 4: I think you're right about keeping up with the scoreboard.
- 53:59Speaker 4: You're saying, is Georgia going to be able to keep
- 54:00Speaker 4: up with Alabama? I actually think it's flipped to where
- 54:04Speaker 4: is Keylon Russell in this offense going to be able
- 54:06Speaker 4: to keep up with Georgia?
- 54:07Speaker 2: Because Georgia, their identity is efficiency. It's not volume. It's
- 54:10Speaker 2: not explosive. It's efficiency.
- 54:12Speaker 4: They run the ball really well on early downs, one
- 54:14Speaker 4: of the best offensive lines in the country. And then
- 54:16Speaker 4: you look at their conversion rate on third down because
- 54:18Speaker 4: they stay ahead of the change. Like they're converting like 53,
- 54:21Speaker 4: 55 percent on third down. And to me, Gunnar Stockton,
- 54:24Speaker 4: you talked about how, you know, it's 38 percent on
- 54:26Speaker 4: balls behind the line. I think the profile is very
- 54:29Speaker 4: similar when we were kind of talking about Aaron Filo
- 54:31Speaker 4: last week to where he hasn't had to just sit
- 54:34Speaker 4: there and play quarterback because they are so efficient offensively.
- 54:38Speaker 4: But the difference with Aaron Philo and Gunnar Stockton is
- 54:40Speaker 4: Gunnar Stockton, you have evidence that he can win you
- 54:42Speaker 4: football games. You have evidence that he can throw the
- 54:44Speaker 4: ball effectively. When you dive into numbers, like balls thrown
- 54:47Speaker 4: in between the numbers, he's throwing at a 90% clip.
- 54:51Speaker 4: He's 45 of 50. He's got seven touchdowns. He's got
- 54:53Speaker 4: zero interceptions. So to me, this is like experience versus ability.
- 54:57Speaker 4: Because Keelan Russell, again, he's 19. He just turned 19
- 55:01Speaker 4: in April. You have a young cat in a spot
- 55:04Speaker 4: like this. I think it goes fully on him and
- 55:06Speaker 4: the receivers. Scott, who is it?
- 55:11Speaker 2: Lottie Brooks. Lottie Brooks. And then you've got Ryan Williams.
- 55:14Speaker 4: To me, that's the matchup on third and three to
- 55:17Speaker 4: six is a spot that they're going to live in.
- 55:18Speaker 4: Because Keelan Russell, he's an absolute setup. I'm not doubting
- 55:21Speaker 4: his ability whatsoever. It's just I don't think they're going
- 55:23Speaker 4: to be able to stop the run consistently against Georgia.
- 55:28Speaker 4: And as good as Bama has been in the run
- 55:30Speaker 4: game this year, I think there's a difference between being
- 55:33Speaker 4: from a good run offense versus a great run offense
- 55:36Speaker 4: and then going against the top five rush defense in
- 55:38Speaker 4: the country in Georgia, which I think they will be
- 55:40Speaker 4: able to limit Alabama's run game to where Keelan Russell,
- 55:43Speaker 4: a lot of their offense is built. You mentioned Keelan
- 55:46Speaker 4: Russell having a lot of time. It's like three point
- 55:48Speaker 4: One four seconds to throw the ball like that's just
- 55:50Speaker 4: a PFF stat. But again, his average depth of target
- 55:53Speaker 4: is is 11 yards. So he's not checking the ball
- 55:56Speaker 4: down like they're looking for those openings and those shots
- 55:59Speaker 4: to where if you look at Georgia defensively, when you're
- 56:02Speaker 4: in that three, that third down and three to six range,
- 56:05Speaker 4: they're coming after you 87 percent of the time. In totality,
- 56:09Speaker 4: from first to third down, Georgia blitzes at a 55% clip.
- 56:13Speaker 4: So they're going to come after Keelan. He's not going
- 56:17Speaker 4: to have all that time in the world. You're going
- 56:19Speaker 4: to have to get him down because that's another one.
- 56:21Speaker 4: Keelan Russell, he can beat you with his legs. They
- 56:23Speaker 4: do have the talent to do that. So I think
- 56:25Speaker 4: it's going to come down to Keelan being in these
- 56:27Speaker 4: spots with his receivers because you can get after the
- 56:31Speaker 4: secondary of Georgia. I really like Georgia here. I'm going
- 56:36Speaker 4: more with experience. on that side with Gunner Stockton and like,
- 56:39Speaker 4: you know, having the question mark, can Keelan do it
- 56:42Speaker 4: in this spot when you know Georgia's defense is going
- 56:45Speaker 4: to be coming after you essentially all game, especially if
- 56:48Speaker 4: you're living in that third.
- 56:49Speaker 1: And sixth category.
- 56:50Speaker 4: A lot of those cover one peel blitzes are going
- 56:52Speaker 4: to be coming after him to where there's going to
- 56:53Speaker 4: be a free runner.
- 56:54Speaker 1: Coming after him at some point. Then it's about just
- 56:56Speaker 1: getting him down.
- 56:57Speaker 4: Yeah. Then it's like, he's got the arm. He's got
- 56:59Speaker 4: the legs. Can you get him down? Is he going
- 57:02Speaker 4: to be able to put the ball in those tight windows?
- 57:04Speaker 4: Can Georgia's secondary cover these guys tight? Because Alabama's got
- 57:07Speaker 4: some weapons offensively. So to me, it's like, this is
- 57:10Speaker 4: all Keelan Russell and that wide receiver group on third down.
- 57:13Speaker 4: So you're going with Georgia? I'm going Georgia money line.
- 57:15Speaker 4: I'm going to do three units on that.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Okay, so we're sitting there. Fun little stat for you
- 57:19Speaker 1: on Williams and Brooks. They have eight receiving plays of
- 57:22Speaker 1: over 30 yards. And we talked about Austin Simmons, the
- 57:25Speaker 1: whole Missouri team only has seven. So that's how explosive
- 57:27Speaker 1: Alabama's been with just two players. Austin Simmons is really
- 57:30Speaker 1: throwing it down the field.
- 57:30Speaker 2: No one mentioned that tight end room. The guy to
- 57:33Speaker 2: me that they'll be picking on is Ellis Robinson. He's
- 57:36Speaker 2: number one for Georgia.
- 57:38Speaker 4: That is like one of those matchups, whether it's Ryan,
- 57:39Speaker 4: whether it's Lottie Brooks, whether it's Rico Scott, I feel
- 57:42Speaker 4: like that's the guy they're going to try and go after.
- 57:44Speaker 1: A little bit. Hey, you whispered the tight end group. Like,
- 57:48Speaker 1: is that just three guys that can play in the
- 57:50Speaker 1: NFL like tomorrow?
- 57:52Speaker 2: These are the best two tight end rooms in the
- 57:53Speaker 2: country going against each other. Georgia's gets the credit. I
- 57:58Speaker 2: think it's the best tight end room in the country.
- 57:59Speaker 2: Bama's is such a surprise. I don't think a lot
- 58:02Speaker 2: of the outside world, like we've talked about it here
- 58:04Speaker 2: on this show. I don't think casual viewers even would
- 58:07Speaker 2: mention the Bama tight end room. I think probably you
- 58:09Speaker 2: and I are talking morning. The injury reports come out
- 58:13Speaker 2: later today. I think there may be some tight end
- 58:14Speaker 2: presence on that injury report. But I think they're really
- 58:18Speaker 2: deep at that position. And it's just not something they
- 58:21Speaker 2: had last year. Like when this game happened in Athens
- 58:23Speaker 2: last year, Bama won, but they had to walk a
- 58:26Speaker 2: tightrope to win it. They had to win in spite
- 58:28Speaker 2: of offensive line. They had to win in spite of
- 58:30Speaker 2: deficiency at tight end outside of Cuevas, I think. Now it's, man,
- 58:34Speaker 2: we think we can trust those units. We think that
- 58:36Speaker 2: may be a strength of our team. Plus, you've got
- 58:38Speaker 2: Keelan Russell and all that stuff. So, I just think
- 58:40Speaker 2: it's a far more dynamic team this year.
- 58:41Speaker 4: Bro, and they block their tail off.
- 58:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:44Speaker 4: Like, you go to the first series of that Mississippi
- 58:45Speaker 4: State game. You got, you know, they do a lot of, like,
- 58:48Speaker 4: 12 personnel, multiple tight end sets. Where a tight end
- 58:50Speaker 4: was lined up as a fullback. He goes through the
- 58:52Speaker 4: line of scrimmage, and he drives the middle linebacker from
- 58:54Speaker 4: Mississippi State.
- 58:55Speaker 2: On the fumble, yeah. Like, deep, bro.
- 58:57Speaker 4: There's, like, they're dropping dudes, too, when they're pulling or
- 59:00Speaker 4: swaying around. Like, they can block.
- 59:02Speaker 2: Their ass off.
- 59:02Speaker 1: That's a good looking tight end room for sure.
- 59:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:04Speaker 1: And was it the Ford kid? He, like, rumors, right? Hand?
- 59:08Speaker 2: I think he had, yeah. Comes back in the game.
- 59:10Speaker 2: I think it'll be a couple weeks for him.
- 59:12Speaker 1: But I heard like, I was, Cruz was saying this,
- 59:14Speaker 1: like this kid apparently is like beating down the door.
- 59:16Speaker 1: Like I want to play this week.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:18Speaker 1: These guys look the part, they play the part and
- 59:19Speaker 1: they love the game of football. It's like, it juices
- 59:22Speaker 1: you up a little bit when those guys are getting
- 59:24Speaker 1: real into it. Fires you up.
- 59:26Speaker 2: All right.
- 59:26Speaker 1: We've spent enough time on these other games. So you're
- 59:28Speaker 1: going I'm going to go three. Yeah, I'll go three
- 59:31Speaker 1: as well. All right. The big one. This is it.
- 59:36Speaker 1: This is everything, man.
- 59:38Speaker 2: Indiana.
- 59:39Speaker 1: Defending national champs. Undefeated. Going to Lincoln, Nebraska. Nebraska is
- 59:45Speaker 1: also undefeated right now. They are not ranked in the
- 59:48Speaker 1: top 25.
- 59:48Speaker 2: Well, in some polls.
- 59:50Speaker 1: In some polls.
- 59:50Speaker 2: Not the Willie C polls.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Not the Willie C polls.
- 59:52Speaker 2: They're in the top. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're up there
- 59:54Speaker 2: in the Willie C polls.
- 59:54Speaker 1: Indiana's favored by a seven and a half right now.
- 59:58Speaker 1: Total points in that game is 49 and a half.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: We will be in Lincoln, Nebraska for busting and paint
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: on campus. We will be doing a bunch of stuff
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: before with our tailgate tour, but- All eyes will be
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: in that stadium.
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: 90,000.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: I think they have over 400 consecutive sold out games there.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: Like they have not won a top 25 matchup since 2016.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: But they look good. You've been saying for a few
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: weeks now, like you like this team so much. So
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: you've mumbled yourself into saying, I love this team.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: When they don't have penalties.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: When they don't have penalties. Last week, they had 10
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: penalties in the first half against Maryland. Truly, buddy, like,
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: I'm just excited to hear you talk about this game.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: You have the floor. There's not a whole day. I mean, look, again,
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: you're not going to get bulletin board material out of
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: Willie C. It's week six at the end of the day.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: It's week six at the end of the day. We
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: got a big game.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: Yeah. Defending national champs. Kurt Cignetti, all of the respect
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: in the world. They're a very efficient offense. It's all
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: predicated off the RPO. Josh Hoover's look damn good. Their
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: run defenses look damn good. Like they don't have a
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: lot of weaknesses on their team. And everything you can
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: prop up about Nebraska statistically, you can also look at
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: who their opponents have been. So I'm not going to
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: sit up here and give these boys some bulletin board material.
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: When we got, I do like the outfit we have
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: in Nebraska right now. And you talk about we haven't
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: won in the last 10 years. Have I ever told
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: you about, have I ever asked you about, do you
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: know who Frank Solich is?
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: I don't believe you have. Because I want to, I
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: think this.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: Is a good story time right here.
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: Oh. So that way you understand where this Husker fan
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: base comes from.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: You know who Frank Solich is. I remember at Ohio more, yeah.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: So- What you're going to see with this 90,000 that
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: we have coming in Saturday is you're going to see
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: a fan base that has been waiting 10 years for
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: a game like this. And I'm going to tell you
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: the emotion and the look that all of them are
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: going to have on their face because we're bubbling right now.
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: We are very much, we got a shot in this game. Like,
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: is it David versus Goliath? Is it the miracle? It's
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: not that wide of a gap. But this team, like,
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: we can get after this team. We really can if
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: we take care of ourselves and we minimize penalties.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Because Indiana is a very clean football team.
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: But let's go down. Let's have story time. Frank Solich,
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: he was hired. He was the successor for Tom Osborne
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: in 98. He was there from 98 to 2003. Tom Osborne,
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: arguably one of the greatest college football coaches of all time. Like,
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: Nebraska owned the 90s. Michigan won in 97. Frank Solich,
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: he wins nine games. He wins 12. He wins 11.
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: And then he goes 7-7, okay? He goes 7-7 toward
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: the AD Steve Peterson at the time. The next year,
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: it didn't matter what Frank Solich did. The quote was,
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: we're not going to gravitate toward mediocrity. Because 7-7 was
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: the first time Nebraska won less than nine games in
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: Less than nine games since 1968. That's how this whole
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: entire fan base has been built. So Steve Peterson, the
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: next year, Frank Solich goes nine and three. Okay, we
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: beat a ranked Texas team and it didn't matter what
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: was gonna happen in the bowl game. Steve Peterson was like,
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: we're out on Frank Solich because we're not gravitating toward mediocrity.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: We hired Bill Callahan.
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: Bill Callahan in his first year, we go five and six,
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: five and seven, our first losing season Since 1961. So
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: I just told you about the less than nine games.
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: We're scared of going to mediocrity. We hired Bill Callahan.
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: By the way, Bill Callahan was a coach of mine
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: in Washington. I actually committed to Bill Callahan in 07
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: when he had a second losing season going to five
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: and seven.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: That's when the Pelini era starts. We win.
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: We get back to winning nine, 10 games. We're there.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: But again, we're we need the 90s back. We lost
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: in big spots. We lost three conference title games. We
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: got mopped by Wisconsin. We blew a 17-point lead against
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship. We lost that one
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: second game against Texas. And we lost to teams that
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: we shouldn't have lost to in the few losses that
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: we would have in a year. So Bo Pelini, that
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: era wasn't good enough to what Nebraska needed to be
- 1:04:26Speaker 4: at because we're expected to be in the national title
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: game year in and year out. The expectation was there.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: Sean Ikers comes in as the AD. He pushes out
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: Bo Pelini. He pushes out Tom Osborne. He pushes out
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: Bo Pelini. We now get into the Mike Riley era, okay?
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: First year, losing season. Second year, when he still has
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: some of the recruiting class of Bo Pelini, he goes 9-4.
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: September 17, 2016 was the last time Nebraska won a
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: ranked game, and that was against Oregon. That was our
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: last winning season because the next year, Mike Riley, abysmal.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: We go down, some say we might be at rock bottom.
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: Little did we know we were hitting the sides on
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: the way to rock bottom. We go seven years of
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: losing seasons, okay? Matt Rule comes in. He doesn't inherit
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: a team and a culture that is a quarterback away.
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: He inherits a team that has no clue what it
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: feels like to win anymore.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: Win close games, win anything.
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: The internals fractured, externals fractured, external doesn't know to trust
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: the shot callers internally anymore.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: Matt Rule comes in.
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: It's gotten to a point to where generationally in Nebraska,
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: you're not only forgetting about where Nebraska's been, but this
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: next generation coming in almost doesn't even know why they're
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: wearing the red anymore because dad and grandpa keep talking
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: about the past. And so all you have to lean
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: on is this Matt Rule. Year three is going to happen.
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: We have our first winning season in, what, eight years
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: in year two of Matt Rule. Year three, it was
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: supposed to tick up. We went in a couple spots
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: to where you can say the old Nebraska team loses
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: in those spots. And then we end up having bad
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: back half of the year with Coach Rule. To where
- 1:06:13Speaker 4: now the question mark coming in, it's like, is Matt
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: Rule the guy? And again, I'm talking about the fan
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: base of Nebraska. This is a history lesson. teaching about
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: Frank Solich and how all of this has came to be.
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: But now we're sitting here 5-0 for the first time
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: since 2016. The first time being 2-0 in the Big
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: Ten since 2016. And we have the one thing that
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: we don't have is a ranked win. The one thing
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: Coach Rule doesn't have is a signature win. And you
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: have the defending national champs coming to town to where
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: The feeling is there that we can beat this team,
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: but also it's almost like you can't give your heart
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: to this game because it could also be a letdown
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: spot based on history.
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: But history didn't have Anthony Calandria. History didn't have Jamal Rule.
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: Didn't have McDougal pick six to the house because a
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: past Nebraska team. would have pissed down their leg when
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: Maryland's got over 300 yards of offense. We have 10
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: penalties and we're going to find a way to lose
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: this football game when we had no business of losing
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: this football game. But then McDougal comes out of nowhere
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: and takes it to the fucking house on a slant
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: route when he's a cover for, when he's a cover
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: for safety. You got Owen Chambliss. You got Williams on
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: the edge. I can go on and on. Andrew Marshall
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: on the perimeter as a quarterback. Some of the best
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: feet you'll.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: Find in the country.
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: And we have a legitimate shot to win this game.
- 1:07:43Speaker 4: There's no follow-up to where there's this rah-rah emotional inspirational
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: speech coming. I'm just letting you know that Josh Hoover,
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: just like I said about Wegman, Josh Hoover is a
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: turnover waiting to happen. He hasn't coughed it up yet
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: this year. But you look at him on the road
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: last year, he had 10 picks on the road. At home,
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: when he was comfortable, he only had three interceptions. Josh
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: Hoover is a turnover waiting to happen. It's going to
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: happen in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday. And we're going to
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: have a game in the second half in Lincoln, Nebraska.
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: You already know money line because I'm willing to die
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: on Saturday.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: So I'm five unit.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: You're hearing me slap the table.
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: Everybody knows Willie C is slapping the table for this game.
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: But the 90,000 coming in have been waiting 10 fucking
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: years for a moment like this. And that's what you're
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: going to hear before Josh Hoover can hear himself in
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: a snap count on Saturday.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: And Nebraska is going to shock the world.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Thank you. I don't know why I'm clapping. That was beautiful.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: Should have never let Felina go, man. I could do
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: a book report on Frank Solich. I could do a
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: book report on Nebraska football. I feel like you only
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: tap the table. I don't feel like you slap the table.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: the table, though.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: Damn.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: It's a slow burn. Okay.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: I'm in the same prep. It's still five units. It's
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: still moneyless.
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: I'm in the same prep as Nebraska right now. It's
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: a slow burn. Don't get affected by the noise. Friday's
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: going to come. Bus hasn't been paid on campus. Saturday's
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: going to come. I am confident about this game. I
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: understand all the eyeballs and ears watching and listening right now.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: Big netty. Don't do it, Willie C. Yeah.
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: My God, Willie C.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: I was hoping. I was hoping you would. I know.
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: At what point are we going to see a slap
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: on the table, not a tap on the table of
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: the passion?
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: When I know that media team can't turn it around
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: and put it in a video.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: It's Saturday morning. Saturday morning is when we'll know. Because, Josh,
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: you don't know this, but every day this week, I've
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: came and I've checked the temperature of Will Compton. Put
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: my hands on him a little bit. I'll tell you,
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: boy's strong right now.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: I'll try to wrestle him up a little bit. Will's
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: a bit of a no-nonsense guy when it comes to
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: that stuff because he's got an L5-S1.
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: But he's ready this week.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: I want to fucking see it come out, though.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: It can't be an obnoxious confidence. This boy, this team
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: is focused and poised right now. Psychology. Psychology. Psychology.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: Hoover, zero interceptions this year. 13 last year, but he's
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: due for one just like Austin Simmons. On the road.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: On the road.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: On the road.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: 90,000 people. 10 years.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: Buddy. Red balloons. We're going to get to be there together.
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: And I'm so happy it's not Michigan on the other side.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: Same.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: So we get to stand there and enjoy this experience.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: I'm happy that Michigan and Nebraska aren't playing this year
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: based on what I've seen the last couple of weeks
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: out of Michigan. Like I'm just happy to sit here
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: and fall back on the three bus and bull championships.
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: And just be like, at least I have that. But
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: I'm all, I'm all big red this week. I'm not
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: going to slap the table.
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: Do you realize how important this moment is this weekend?
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Like did you learn something? I not only learned something,
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: like Montgomery Gentry has a, has a song called, about
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: back in my day, that's something you should be proud of.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: It's about a kid sitting there and his dad walks
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: in and he starts talking about the good old days.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: His grandfather talking about being in World War II. And
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: the kid would always roll his eyes, but he'd end
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: up cross-legged, starry-eyed, sitting on the floor, hanging on to
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: every word. And man, the things he heard. And I
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: feel like that little boy listening to you and just
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: thinking like, yo, Nebraska needs this. Nebraska wants this and
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: Nebraska deserves this. So I'm in your corner. Am I
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: going to slap the table?
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: No.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: It's not my place to slap this table. I'm actually
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: more interested to see where Josh goes before.
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: I say anything.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: Because you guys can win this game. Absolutely. We've watched it.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: We've talked about it at Nauseam. We said, wait until
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: we get to this week. Wait until week six. Wait
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: until week six. Where are you going, Josh? What does
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: your little microscopic computer say?
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: It's a great question. Nebraska is its favorite play on
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: the entire sheet. You know where this is headed, Will.
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: Hey, me and the wrong team was favored at the
- 1:12:07Speaker 4: Boston Bowl last year, too.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: Its favorite play. What are there, like 40 games this week?
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: 50 games? Nebraska plus seven and a half is its
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: favorite play on the entire board. 68% cover probability. So
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: the story you just told juxtaposed to this year's team
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: and rule being 0-9 versus ranked teams. And a whole
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: generation now, you're right, exists that doesn't really know what
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: the big deal is about Nebraska. We were just at
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: a place last week that suffers a version of that.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: Virginia Tech, once upon a time, was really good, but
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: now there have been so many years of mediocrity or
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: worse that if you're talking to an 18-year-old kid, they're like,
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: why do people make a big deal about Virginia Tech?
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: You've got to open a history book and show it
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: to them. Dad, granddad's got to explain it to them.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: So it all comes down to change in how people think, right?
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: So you think you've got a ground game this year
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: with Nebraska, but the run defenses you faced have been 77th, 136th, 78th, 66th,
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: Indiana's top five in the country. You also think you
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: can stop the run, but this year you faced the 89th, 137th,
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: and 113th rushing offenses in P4. That doesn't mean, it
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: doesn't mean by the way, That it's fake or hollow.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: It just means it's got to be verified against one
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: of the best in the country. And that's how you
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: change how people think. So I'm of the fundamental belief
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: that Nebraska can make this a four-quarter game. The model
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: also is of the fundamental belief that Nebraska can make
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: it a four-quarter game. There's a lot of reputation, rightfully so,
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: that's baked into that Indiana line. I'd say there's a
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: lot of lack of reputation that's baked into the Nebraska
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: side of that line. It's not being played in 2022.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: It's being played in 2026. And I remember standing there
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: last year when we were watching the Michigan game and
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: you had built up to it. And I was right
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: there with you because I was big on Nebraska last year.
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: And we were standing there. And even though the game
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: ended up being close, you could see line of scrimmage
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: and you can see early on like, oh man. And
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: then there's a Hail Mary and like you're thinking maybe
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: we can smoke and mirror our way to this, but
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: we're not going to win the game in the trenches here.
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: This is the kind of game where you hope that
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: you've built up to the point where maybe you don't
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: have an edge there, but you can trade punches for
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: four quarters, line of scrimmage enough to where defensively you
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: can make some stuff happen. Because like Josh Hoover, it's
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: still early enough in the year where you don't fully
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: know who Indiana quarterback Josh Hoover is. And you can
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: say a lot of the same things about Nebraska too.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: I just think Indiana's being viewed as a little bit
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: more a known commodity than they actually are. So I,
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: independent of what William said, always planned on walking in
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: here and slapping the table for Nebraska. Five units. Wow. Wow.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Money line?
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: Plus seven and a half.
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: Plus seven and a half. Hey, we go to war.
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: We go to war this weekend. And what happens if
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: we die? We fucking die. That's it. Don't forget about
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: the theory of competition.
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: The superior team can still get that ass whooped.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: That's what you want to leave me on? You got
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: to call a spade a spade. Like we are the
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: underdog in this game. I love how you- I like
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: this underdog. I like this underdog.
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: We got to turn the cameras off.
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: I like this team as an underdog.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: We're going to go dog of the week?
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: I'm terrified. You know my history with that team last year.
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: Where'd you go? Oh.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: That's a great question.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: That's a great question. You got some good parlays this week, ma'am.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: Dog of the week. You guys have spaced it out.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: Josh Hoover has had zero interceptions so far. He's picking
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: up right where Mendoza left off as far as back
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: shoulder throws. Beck is a deep threat. I think Marsh,
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: the Michigan State transfer, doesn't have as many yards as
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: he should. He's an incredible, incredible wide receiver. Their offensive
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: line seems to be owning the line of scrimmage. Turbo,
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: that running back, it takes more than just one guy
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: to bring him down. And Nebraska hasn't been disciplined, and
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: they have to play a disciplined game. having, what, 10
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: penalties in the first half versus Maryland.
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: 16 total.
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: 16 total is not going to get it done against
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: this Indiana team because they major in the basics. They
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: are incredible at day one install type of football to
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: where they're not having a lot of window dressing, but
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: they're very effective play in and play out. Where I
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: think Nebraska has an edge in the run game is
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: not hitting the teeth of the defense and doing the primary.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: You guys do a great job of pulling your guard
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: and your center. It just kind of depends on alignment.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: Like if you have a three technique, That tackle's going
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: to down block and have the guard in the center
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: get out. And they are athletic enough to get bigger
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: guys on smaller guys and cover it up.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: Okay, cut the bull. Where are you going?
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm going to go Nebraska, seven and a half.
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: Are you serious?
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: Are you serious? He says all that now.
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I do.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: I love it. I love everything you said. I love
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: the history lesson I just got. And at the end
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: of the day, like I bitch and moan about trenches
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: all the time. And if I'm going to leave from
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: the front, like why not be a guy in a
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: situation where everything looks to be an Indiana type of
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: game and not sit there with my boy and be like, yeah,
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: it's all GBR this week. I've told you. for the
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: last three weeks, I'm with you. I'm in the foxhole.
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: I'm not going to sit here and stab you in
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: the back as if it's the movie Gladiator in the
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: last scene, like hug me brother. And I just stab you.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: Like I'm with you. I'm with you. I'm with this
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: fan base. I can't wait to be rocking red on
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: Saturday and thinking like I am an alumni as well.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: I can't wait to see all these kids that have
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: no idea about nineties and the early two thousands and
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: have them all remember the history lesson that takes place
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: because history has a tendency to repeat itself. And I
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: think it starts repeating itself on Saturday. against Indiana.
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: I can't believe we're doing this, but I'm excited that
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: we're doing it.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: I'm excited that we're doing it. I'm all about it.
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: I thought you were going Indiana. I thought you were
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: going to heel turn like you did in Knoxville. I
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: thought you were going to go hook them horns, hook
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: them Hoosiers. I can't. Yeah.
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: Like there's been so many times like I've patted Will
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: on the head when it's the bus and bowl and
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: there's so many things where I sit back and I'll
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: tell you what's not going to happen on Friday. When Tom...
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: rips off a jersey and it's got 51 Wilcoxon, I'm
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: not going to get back in the shadows and go,
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: at least she's got Tom. I'm going to sit there
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: with you and be like, fuck yeah, Tom. We're all
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: in this together. Because at the end of the day, dude,
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: got to lead from the front.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: Do you remember a couple of years ago, it may
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: have been the national title game, when McAfee is standing...
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: in the end zone and Signetti walks on the field.
- 1:18:52Speaker 4: And gave him the.
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Yes. Do you think that kind of stuff
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: could happen to us before the game Saturday?
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: No doubt.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: I think it could happen to Sig before the game
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: on Saturday.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: You're going to give him.
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: I think you beat Sig to it. Absolutely. And I think, Matt,
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: if you see how far away he was, we need
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: to be at the tunnel entrance. And it's not. When
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: Sig is there. Exactly. We should wear all camo for
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: that game.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: We're going to go Dylan Stewart on that.
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: Exactly. Just unload the clip on Sig that as he's
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: running out. Because he's going to see this. And as
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: much bulletin board materials you didn't give him, he's going
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: to see all three of us on Nebraska plus seven
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: and a half.
- 1:19:29Speaker 4: Zero.
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: Edit that out. Don't edit that out. That was it
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: right there.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: Do not edit that out. Super slate bonus games. I
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: got South Carolina and Florida. Let's rip the Band-Aid off
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: really quick. Florida's going to cover this game. They're going
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: to win. Jaden Boss sat there.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: Tell them about the model, Josh.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: Yeah, the itty bitty tiny microscopic model like South Carolina
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: cover in this game. Jaden Baugh sending a text to
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: his coach hours after the game being like, I failed you.
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: I'm sorry. 13 yards is not going to cut. That
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: will never happen again. And Summerall coming back at him
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: and being like, I understand. I appreciate you. I believe
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: in you. We're not, we're not turning anything around. We
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: talked about the psychological stuff with Missouri and all that.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: This is a huge get-back game for Florida in the Swamp.
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: Their fan base is going to be rocking. And we're
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: going to continue to see this in the SEC, where
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: teams have big wins and they falter and they come back.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: This is no disrespect to South Carolina. You know, Cocktober,
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: but I love Florida. And I'm high on Aaron Finley.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: I think Florida wins, but I like South Carolina covering.
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: I'm going to take Florida to cover.
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: Mizzou kind of gave you the blueprint defensively. And if you,
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: it's like for me, the whole, the running offense of Florida,
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: because we were alluding to it during the Ole Miss
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: LSU game.
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: Like, hey, they're D-line. I'll talk briefly.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: This is kind of, we were all just going to
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: go over this.
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: I do like South Carolina to cover. Check me out
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: on socials.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: Check out the FanDuel community.
- 1:21:02Speaker 4: But when I was talking about Ole Miss or D-line,
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: they're big, but they're almost too big, like keeping up
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: on the perimeter and doing everything else. Like the wide
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: zone stuff that, Florida has obviously wore them down. And
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: it was such a letdown spot to where it's like.
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: I don't know. Again, briefly.
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: You like South Carolina.
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: I like South Carolina to cover. I like Florida to cover.
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: Onward.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: I'm going Mizzou to cover.
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: Against A & M.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: What's the points in that game?
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: Three and a half, I believe. All right. Here we go.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: He's looking it up.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: Can't spell Missouri.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: It's on the cue cards.
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: Oh, it's on the cue cards. It's on the cue cards. Yeah, look,
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: I got Mizzou winning and I got Mizzou covering.
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: Three and a half, yes.
- 1:21:47Speaker 4: Now, where I pause is like, you can't have Mizzou
- 1:21:52Speaker 4: drink the Kool-Aid. I have a photo, one of my
- 1:21:56Speaker 4: sources inside the building. Kool-Aid packets are taped everywhere around
- 1:22:00Speaker 4: that building right now because you can't drink the Kool-Aid
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: just because you took down Florida and had a massive win.
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: The reason I do like Mizzou is is I like
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: this team against run-first offenses, Texas A & M being one.
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: So I like Missouri here. I like Mizzou to cover
- 1:22:13Speaker 4: at home, three and a half, early game on Saturday.
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: It's a nervous-looking game. So is this one here. Nebraska
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: was the model's favorite play. You want to know what
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: the model's second favorite play was this week? Tell me.
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: This one's really disgusting, Penn State. Plus one and a
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: half at that point. Now it's crossed zero. So someone
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: else out there agreed with the model. Penn State minus
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: one and a half. Don't ask me how. It's the
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: classic theory of what has been doesn't always have to be.
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: Have not, does not equal cannot. A lot of fortune
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: cookie stuff is what I'm throwing at you.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: A lot of good fortune cookies.
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: A lot of fortune cookie stuff. Hey, look, USC can't
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: travel to the East Coast.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: And they should have lost to Washington last week.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: Lincoln Riley, you got a piece of paper? Hand me
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: that piece of paper. Lincoln Riley, three and eight, traveling
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: two plus time zones, according to producer Jesse.
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: And his wins are what? Like Purdue, Rutgers? Those sorts
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: of wins. Somebody else like that. And he was in
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: a little, he was in a bit of a competition.
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: It's the whiteout game. We got to make sure the
- 1:23:12Speaker 4: whiteout game sold out. I know it's got to be
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: sold out. Last week was abysmal.
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: I know all that, but like fans have to win
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: this game for Penn State.
- 1:23:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: You got to take it upon yourself. You can't let
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: Lincoln Riley come in your house and clown you or
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: win anyway. So you've got to, you got to get
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: it done. I think you will. Penn State minus one
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: and a half.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: No, you like, okay. Minus one and a half. The
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: model had it where?
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: The model has Penn State winning by three and a half. Okay.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: Which was impossible.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: I'm going to put that in my fan community.
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: But it still has them winning by three and a half.
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: I'm going to trust your little model.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: I'll go model that.
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: See what happens. I mean, I like that play. I
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: like the spot for Penn State. I know Jesse is
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: a massive Nittany Lion. And he looks dead inside.
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: Still all in on the season.
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: Just fully all in. If Penn State doesn't win this game,
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: what they got next week, Penn State's got to play Michigan.
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: And that game has still not gotten picked up by
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: Fox or ESPN or anybody. No one has picked that
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: game up yet. It's going to be a Big Ten
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: Network type of game.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: You think CW maybe?
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: It might be something, man. It might be the Ocho.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: Who knows? That game will be on TV, but it's
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: going to be a whole different game.
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: Just local news shows up to broadcast the game?
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: Jesse and I, we embrace each other. Just sadness for
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: both of our teams. I like Michigan in that game.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: By the way, shout out the Weather Channel profile on X.
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: Body bagging. They had a nice little response. Who was it?
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: Tennessee and who?
- 1:24:31Speaker 4: Somebody said, let's kick it to the Weather Channel.
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: The Weather Channel responded, no, I'm good.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: We're all set with this one. I'll say, like, one
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: of those teams is going to have a win after
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: that game.
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody's got to win.
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: They could tie. That would be unbelievable. Unbelievable if that
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: took place. Dogs of the week. Dogs of the week.
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: You want to go first?
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: Sure. Maryland plus 34 and a half against Ohio State. Wow.
- 1:24:54Speaker 4: Ohio State coming off a big one against Iowa.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: They also have.
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: Indiana.
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: Indiana next week. Massive game.
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: Biggest game of the college football year, basically. So sandwiched
- 1:25:03Speaker 4: right between, you got a Maryland team who seems dead inside,
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: so I'm going to take them plus 34 and a half.
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: Seems dead. Against Ohio State.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Have they fired their coach yet?
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: No.
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: There's been no domino to fall in that area? It's coming.
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: It's scary.
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: Because Ohio State... It is definitely a look-ahead spot for
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: sure for them. But Maryland– It doesn't matter.
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: Beat them by 30. Ohio State can beat them by 31.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: Yeah, but do you think that's going to– what do
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: you think about that?
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: You ever watch the Braves game like during the seventh inning?
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: They do this thing called beat the freeze. It's where
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: they line up this track star on the warning track
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: and you get a head start to center field and
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: then he still beats you. That is Ohio State, Maryland.
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: It doesn't even matter. It doesn't matter. They're going to
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: body bag him. Splattering of the week. Sarah McLaughlin, special incoming.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: So you would take Ohio State minus 34.
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: Don't even care what the number is. Yes. Yes, I would.
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: You're that high in Ohio State? Are you that high
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: in Ohio State or you're that low?
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: I couldn't be lower on Maryland. Is there a shovel here?
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: Like I would have to dig to be lower on Maryland.
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: But what did you say there for a second? Model
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: likes Maryland. It doesn't know. There's only so low the
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: model will allow a team profile to go. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: But it doesn't know. Like the ingredients can be poor.
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: But what the model doesn't know is the poor ingredients
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: have also spoiled. Spoiled poor ingredients. They're kids. But still,
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: spoiled poor ingredients. All right. Fair enough.
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: Understood. Understood. I got North Carolina plus three and a
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: half versus Pitt. We said last week the winner between
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: Pitt and Virginia Tech. That team's going to be ranked. Heinzel, done.
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: Yeah, he's out.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: He's out for the season. That's sad news. Brutal, man.
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: North Carolina. Got the Riff Raff out of there. They
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: seem to be a better team. I'm going to take
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: them plus three and a.
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: Half versus Pitt. By Riff Raff, you mean the head
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: coach's best friend, GM, and his son. I just said
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: Riff Raff.
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: I just said Riff Raff. They're... They're playing better as
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: a unit.
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: They are.
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: The whole team's playing better as a unit. I'm not disagreeing.
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: I'm just validating what you said. Well, you put a
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: title on it. And I got a nice handwritten letter
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: from Bill Belichick in the offseason. Thank you for the
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: support and all that. And I'm like, he must have
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: just seen one clip, not the five other clips that
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: we had during the season. But I do appreciate it.
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: I'm going to go Buffalo plus 20 and a half
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: against Toledo. Model play. Model play. Just pure model play.
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: How'd the ramen noodle do last week? Not a good week.
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: Still good on the season, but not a good week
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: last week.
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: With Syracuse in it?
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: These things happen. Syracuse was part of what went sideways
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: for the model.
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: Was Stanford in it?
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: Stanford was in there. So we all went down together.
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: That was a look ahead weekend.
- 1:27:27Speaker 4: Sure.
- 1:27:27Speaker 2: Although we will not be betting Stanford this week, so
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: I don't care what they're looking ahead to.
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: Isn't Buffalo like 138 out of 138 in offense?
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: Doesn't matter. That's all baked into the number. Buffalo cashed
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: for us last week, by the way. Did they?
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: Well, for those of us who wrote it. Yeah. So
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: much cherry pick.
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: Parleys. I'm going to hit all of them this week.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: You're going to hit all of them. I'm going to
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: hit all of them. They'll be in my FanDuel community
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: as if they're my own. And I'll say, I'll put
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: a little note of why I picked this. I'll put
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: stats driven. Let's all have that.
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: Follow me on the community. Just a little noodle icon.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: Parleys. I love my parlay. We got alt lines and
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: alt spreads here. LSU, Kentucky over alt total of 49.5. Utah,
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: alt line minus 6.5 versus Kansas. San Jose Moneyline versus.
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: Just Moneyline.
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: Just Moneyline.
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: You got San Jose winning the game.
- 1:28:18Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: Oklahoma State minus 6.5 versus UCF. BYU Moneyline. I think
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: they're favored by 10.5, 9.5.
- 1:28:26Speaker 2: Moneyline.
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: That parlay is plus 476. Solid. Iowa plus 3.5 against Washington.
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: Okay. Out in Washington.
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: Oklahoma State to cover minus 9.5 versus UCF. Mizzou Moneyline.
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: over Texas A & M. Maryland plus 34 and a
- 1:28:43Speaker 4: half versus Ohio State. That's plus 939.
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: I'm going to hit you with a three for money
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: line special here. Houston money line against Kansas State. Nice. UNLV,
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: I think, is going to go beat North Dakota State
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: this week and completely screw up what could be a
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: premier North Dakota State versus New Mexico game next week.
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: More on that next week. But I'm going to take
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: UNLV and trust Dan Mullen. And the third leg of
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: this is Iowa money line against Washington. That returns plus 1041. Oh,
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: big boy. It would be big for me.
- 1:29:18Speaker 4: Big boy.
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: That would be big. Send that to me as well.
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: Stats driven.
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: Community.
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: Feel good, boys.
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I do too.
- 1:29:26Speaker 4: Busting paid on campus, Lincoln, Nebraska, this Friday afternoon, 1
