- 0:01Welcome to Rick and That Michelle Chick, the weekly
- 0:05podcast where your hosts, Rick and Michelle, confidently dive
- 0:10into topics they know absolutely nothing about and somehow make
- 0:15it sound legit. They're not experts.
- 0:17They're not qualified. Honestly, they barely googled
- 0:20it. So grab a drink, lower your
- 0:23expectations, and let's pretend this counts as content.
- 0:28So buckle up. Facts are optional, but the
- 0:31bullshit? That's premium grade.
- 0:34This is Rick and that Michelle chick.
- 0:41For those of you that watch our podcast, I don't know if you can
- 0:45see this, but like my face is like peeling.
- 0:48Wow, I know, isn't that crazy? It's because I got a chemical
- 0:51peel last week. So it's not just because I'm a
- 0:54snake that's shedding their skin.
- 0:57I mean, I guess, but so yeah, this is day five, I think.
- 1:04I can't remember. Yes.
- 1:06So usually it takes like 5 to 7 days for it to peel off.
- 1:10It's just like you have like a face mask that won't crack.
- 1:14I really hate it when it's like around your mouth and but then
- 1:18when you're trying to talk, you just feel like this tightness.
- 1:21But anyway it is supposed to help with like discoloration and
- 1:25redness and I've had one before but it's been probably like 10
- 1:30years and you can get laser which is faster.
- 1:35It doesn't take you 5 to 7 days obviously, but it's also more
- 1:39expensive. So that's why I opted for the
- 1:41chemical peel. It just feels like feels like
- 1:43you are your face is on fire when they put it on, but they
- 1:48give you a little fan and and that helps.
- 1:51It helps 2 folds for the burning and for the smell cause the
- 1:55chemical smell is like. Oh my God, what the?
- 1:59It's not that bad it really. So so you're saying, so you're
- 2:02saying beauty number one hurts and is costly?
- 2:05Yes, well, this is cheaper. The chemical peel is cheaper
- 2:08than the laser. The laser is more expensive, but
- 2:12it's, you know, one day basically where this is five to
- 2:17seven days kind of the first day.
- 2:19Usually I'm trying not to wear makeup just because your skin is
- 2:23shedding and trying to heal. And but I didn't want to freak
- 2:26people out on the podcast either, but.
- 2:28So, yeah, so you know, so I guess my my question to you.
- 2:32What's your what's your question?
- 2:33Why? Well, because I do have like
- 2:38some discoloration and redness and so I haven't had a chemical
- 2:43peel in probably 10 years, I want to say, or even see like my
- 2:48see how it gets all tight on my forehead or even laser.
- 2:52I think lasering I had done back, gosh, it would have been
- 2:57maybe like 2021, which my skin, my dermatologist does say like I
- 3:03do look pretty good for my age, but that's a couple of things.
- 3:07Like now I try to stay out of the sun compared to like when we
- 3:12were younger and would slather ourselves with baby oil and
- 3:14layout in the sun. I don't go to the tanning
- 3:18booths. I still have some friends that
- 3:20do that and are looking kind of wrinkly and they're going, well,
- 3:24how come? Like you don't age as much as us
- 3:27and I'm like, girl, it's because you're still going to the
- 3:30tanning booth like that ages you so.
- 3:32Bacon. Your bacon, Your skin.
- 3:34Yes, and so yeah. And then the other part is
- 3:38genetics, like some, no matter what you do, the dermatologist
- 3:40said. Like sometimes people are just
- 3:41going to age faster than other people.
- 3:44I have always had like super oily skin and when I was
- 3:46younger, sure that was horrible because you're breaking out in
- 3:49zits all over the place basically.
- 3:51But now that I'm older, the dermatologist is like, well
- 3:54that's why your skin looks as good as it does and you don't
- 3:58have as many wrinkles because dryness also contributes to
- 4:03wrinkles. So there's your little info
- 4:06about aging and which the only other thing I don't, I don't do
- 4:10Botox yet. Knock on, like I don't, I don't
- 4:14need to. I just get lip filler.
- 4:16That's like really like the only thing I do.
- 4:20But I've always had like super thin lips regardless.
- 4:24And then as you age they also get thinner.
- 4:28Good to know. And so that's the only thing
- 4:30like which if I turn to the side, you might be able to see
- 4:34tell a little bit. But I just see the mustache but.
- 4:37Hey, I can't. I can't shave it because I'm a
- 4:43chemical peel. Kidding, kidding.
- 4:46Oh no, it's there. It's.
- 4:48Just light. It's just light.
- 4:50Not just I was going for the joke, I was going for the joke.
- 4:53No, it was a good joke. But you know, like, us girls
- 4:55will be like sitting on the couch and we'll like feel that
- 4:58chin here and be like, Oh my God.
- 4:59And then you have to go pluck it like that.
- 5:01Happens to all of us. I'm sure Megan too, you just
- 5:04don't know about. Oh, yeah, she does.
- 5:05She's got, she's got one or two and she and then she'll just do
- 5:08it and she'll do it right in front of me, which looks very
- 5:10painful. I don't know why she does it in
- 5:12front of me, but I'm like, I don't want to.
- 5:13I don't want to see any of that. I mean.
- 5:15Usually, like I'll sit there like Jane, I'll be on the couch
- 5:18and I'll find it and then I'll be like.
- 5:19Oh no, you don't. I can't.
- 5:21Like then I can't like keep sitting there and be like and
- 5:25then have to go. Like if he's not home then I can
- 5:28get up and go pluck. It no problem with that.
- 5:30Yes, but when he's there, like, and then like, that's all I
- 5:34think about for however long until I go get ready for bed and
- 5:38then I'm able to, like, find it and pluck it then, yeah.
- 5:41I mean, he probably wouldn't care if I did like, sit there
- 5:44and pluck it anyway, but yeah. I think Megan does it on
- 5:46purpose. But you know, you do bring up an
- 5:51interesting point because I've I've never been self.
- 5:54OK, so I'm as you already know, I'm a non drinker, non-smoker.
- 5:59I do try to stay out of the sun. It's not like I I've never made
- 6:02an active I. Mean you're not putting on
- 6:05sunscreen, no. I've never done it any of that.
- 6:08So the crazy thing which has happened to me in recent years
- 6:12and I and I was again, I just now became self-conscious of it,
- 6:17whereas I had not been recently, is because Megan's mom came for
- 6:21a visit and made a comment about my face.
- 6:25And now and now I am a little more self-conscious than I had
- 6:28been about it. So as you can see, right there
- 6:32on my face and then right here under my eye.
- 6:35So there's just dark spots that you're.
- 6:37Getting Yeah, well, there's little, they're little bumps or
- 6:39whatever. So I have never been
- 6:41self-conscious about it. So a few years back and I think
- 6:44I can do it. I don't know.
- 6:45Oh yeah. There you go.
- 6:46See that that mark on my shoulder?
- 6:47Mole. That's a.
- 6:48Well, it's not a mole. It's just a, it's just a color
- 6:50spot. So a few years back I had one
- 6:53like way over here. It's gone now.
- 6:55And Megan was really worried. She goes Melanoma.
- 6:57She was thinking Melanoma. Great.
- 6:58Yeah, you should go get it checked, especially.
- 7:00So I went to the So I went, Yeah.
- 7:02So you know, me, I had not been to a doctor in 15 years, 20
- 7:05years, but I did go to the, the skin doctor, the dermatologist.
- 7:08I don't, I don't have a regular like you, sorry, I have no
- 7:11regular. But he, he checked me over and
- 7:15said that I have a skin disease. Like not, not because of the
- 7:19sun, not because of anything. He goes, it's genetics.
- 7:22And I said, and I said, well, I know nobody in my family, you
- 7:26know, that has a skin disease. So I so I've got these little
- 7:30like like you see on my hand there, right?
- 7:33So, so it's not and it looks like, and of course it looks
- 7:36like Melanoma, but. But it looks like the little
- 7:39discoloration like I have one up here, which they would, it's
- 7:43just like a brown spot, but which they did with the chemical
- 7:46peel. And I've had them though, I'll
- 7:49go in and they'll freeze them off.
- 7:51You can have it, you can have them like frozen off and it's
- 7:54and they'll die and go away. So.
- 7:56Yeah, so I hadn't done it. I wasn't thinking about doing
- 7:58any of that until Megan's mother had brought it up.
- 8:01And I thought, and then I, you know, and then and now even when
- 8:04I look at myself now, I'm self critical now.
- 8:06Yeah, that's all you're gonna see now.
- 8:08Right now it's all you know. And then I do look back a couple
- 8:12years ago before this, this occurred and I'm like, yeah, I
- 8:15mean, my, I mean, I was one of those people.
- 8:17Like I have no wrinkles on my forehead as you can tell.
- 8:20Yeah, you're pretty good. Yeah, I don't have any.
- 8:22And I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be what, 56 here in a couple
- 8:24months. And my hair, my hair is, you
- 8:27know. Yep, you still got your hair
- 8:29right. So I've always, I've always
- 8:31tried to make it a point not to do any.
- 8:35I just, I'm just not into like this is who I am.
- 8:37This is, this is, this is aging for me.
- 8:40This is 56 or will be 56. And, and so, but now as I start
- 8:46seeing these like I now I'm thinking, man, you know, should
- 8:50I go in and get this stuff scraped off or whatever?
- 8:53Yeah, they just like freeze it off or scrape it off.
- 8:57But I'm not that guy. I've never been.
- 8:58Like but it's bothering you. No, only no, I was, I was fine
- 9:02until, until they made me self-conscious about it.
- 9:04So and, and her mom didn't say, oh, he oh, he looks ugly or
- 9:07anything. She just says she goes, oh,
- 9:09Rick's got spots, you should go get them checked out.
- 9:12And Megan said, oh, he already went in and it's a skin disease.
- 9:15Yeah. So it's, it's a genetic skin
- 9:16disease. So anyway, I was I, you know,
- 9:21it's one of those things where I've tried not to do like no,
- 9:24well, you can already tell compared to look at Michelle,
- 9:27look at Rick. But I'm also five years younger.
- 9:32You know, Michelle looks real good, real good, Rick.
- 9:36Rick looking like he's ready for the the home, you know?
- 9:39Because Michelle's spending some money.
- 9:41I mean, not as much as a lot of people, but you know.
- 9:44Yeah, yeah. So I spend, I spend 0 on on my
- 9:47skin or any of those kind. And then I did tell you the
- 9:50story, I think over Christmas where the guy did put some
- 9:51makeup on or whatever. No, you.
- 9:55Didn't tell you, didn't tell me about that.
- 9:56Did you do that like the plexi derm that gets rid of your under
- 10:00eye? Yeah, so.
- 10:01So here I am at at Christmas time.
- 10:04At Christmas time, I'm walking to the mall.
- 10:07I had to go to the Buckle to get Megan her gift card, right?
- 10:09Oh God, they sucked you in. No, not the buckle, but as I'm
- 10:13leaving the buckle, I'm at the. Skin people in the mall.
- 10:15Like, yeah, so I'm, so I'm trying to walk out.
- 10:18You know me, I I am into the mall, get what I need and get
- 10:21out and I'm walking. And this guy, he just happens to
- 10:25be at his little makeup stand or whatever it is.
- 10:27And he goes, Sir, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop.
- 10:29And I went all right, fine. And you stopped.
- 10:32Oh my God. You're supposed to just be.
- 10:33And he's like, let me help you out.
- 10:35And then, yeah. So it took a swab of some tap.
- 10:38Is it collagen? I don't know it depends.
- 10:40Did it? Did it tighten like your under
- 10:43eye of? Course.
- 10:44And it was like kind of gone. Yeah, no, no, I mean, but I
- 10:47could see it. It wasn't like, you know, it's
- 10:49funny. It's like, I mean, it was so it
- 10:51was collagen or whatever and he's like, there's this stuff
- 10:53normal, what's that? There's this stuff, the Plexi
- 10:56derm stuff that you, I'm sure you've seen the commercials for
- 10:59it. You put it under your eye and it
- 11:01like makes that go away and it tightens.
- 11:05Yeah, it like tightens all that up and it lasts for quite a
- 11:08while. Yeah.
- 11:09So it's. Super popular right now, so.
- 11:11Well, well, super, not just popular.
- 11:14He goes, oh, normally this is 12, this is 1500, but today, but
- 11:17today if you want to buy it, it'll be $200 out the door.
- 11:21This stuff, the plexi derm stuff is like $20.
- 11:24No, this was, but this was whatever he was doing and so.
- 11:27This is the guy in the mall that's.
- 11:29Trying to tell. You the 500 dollar 500.
- 11:31Skin care. Yeah, I give some credit.
- 11:33The one eye looked good. You know what I'm saying?
- 11:35Like it looked like, but but the hilarity was I could see the
- 11:39make. I mean, whatever, if I got close
- 11:41enough to my face, you could see it wasn't like you're not.
- 11:45I mean, it's almost like putting makeup on.
- 11:46It wasn't like I was hiding the. Plexi derm stuff is clear.
- 11:49I'll send you the plexi derm stuff.
- 11:51Oh I'd love, I'll send it. I'll send you the link for what
- 11:53it is and then you could see the cost of it compared to your mom.
- 11:57Well, when I, when I told the guy, you know, I wasn't
- 11:59interested, he goes next, you know.
- 12:01He was, he was like, right, He needs to make a sale.
- 12:04Yeah. So.
- 12:05Well, at 200 bucks, I'm not the guy to make a sale, you know,
- 12:08now, but like I said, up until last week, I was not, I was not
- 12:12self-conscious of this aging thing that's going on.
- 12:14But now I've become self-conscious.
- 12:16So, but I mean, I, you know, it brings me to when, when I, it's
- 12:22like I understand people wanting to feel comfortable or change
- 12:27their if there's something that they don't like about
- 12:29themselves. I get that.
- 12:31But but when is I guess when is too far what when is too far too
- 12:34far or going? You know, when I look at
- 12:37recently, we saw what? We saw Sharon Osbourne and we
- 12:39saw Kelly Osbourne. Yes.
- 12:42And I, I mean, I would never judge anybody, but I cannot
- 12:46believe the, the, the drastic look and is that, and that's
- 12:51also because of Ozempic as well. Yes, she had been taking, I
- 12:55think Ozempic. It was one of the weight loss
- 12:58injectables. I'm not sure which one it was,
- 13:00but I knew it was one of them prior to her dad passing away.
- 13:04You know, she had a she had a baby and, and she's also in
- 13:10Hollywood and in the limelight more and, you know, the
- 13:13pressures of that to look good and to bounce back from the baby
- 13:17weight. And so, yeah, I knew she was on
- 13:21it and she had looked, she looked healthy prior to Ozzy
- 13:25passing away. And I think since he's passed
- 13:29away, she's lost a lot more weight.
- 13:32And I think that photo and just seeing her so thin is concerning
- 13:39as far as has she lost too much weight?
- 13:42Like, you know, people are concerned about her now and.
- 13:46She looks like a she looks like a Disney villain.
- 13:48I mean, she looks like. And I know people were
- 13:50commenting on her, on her looks, and then she commented back
- 13:55like, hey, I've been going through a lot like you people
- 13:58are, which that is mean for people to.
- 14:01Say. Mean things, right, It's obvious
- 14:04she's always had eating disorders, I'm sure, and
- 14:08struggled with her weight and so to say mean things.
- 14:12I mean, yes, those of us that are I the first time I saw saw
- 14:16that picture, I was like, Oh my gosh, like she has gone too far.
- 14:20Obviously eating disorder or whatever it is has either
- 14:24resurfaced or she's not seeing how gaunt she looks.
- 14:30Yes, she has gone through a lot with her dad passing.
- 14:33But but still, like, where do you step in and say, hey, like
- 14:37we're kind of concerned by how you look and what's going on?
- 14:42But yeah, people on the Internet aren't like that.
- 14:44They're just like, Oh my God, look at how she.
- 14:47Looks. Well, yeah, because they're
- 14:48because they're basically jerks. But you know, but I but I look,
- 14:50but I look at, I look at you, Michelle, and you are very
- 14:54healthy looking. But but then what?
- 14:56Like you said, but then when you look at like Kelly Osbourne or
- 14:58even Sharon Osbourne, the gauntness and the, the and then
- 15:02they, and then it's not just losing the weight as I looked at
- 15:05at Kelly and I also looked at Sharon.
- 15:08They've got the plumpus lips. So they're getting more work.
- 15:11So they're already thin and then they're and then they're
- 15:13accentuating these these these other parts.
- 15:16And that's what I think that's. Yeah, they're getting filler.
- 15:19So yeah, like we talked about, I have the lip filler, but also I
- 15:23try to look not over. I try to have my dermatologist
- 15:28make it so that you can't necessarily tell I have filler.
- 15:31It's not that like Kim Kardashian plumped out.
- 15:35Plus for my age, I don't need to, I shouldn't look that way.
- 15:39And you try to look a little more natural is how they call
- 15:43it. But when you also start to get
- 15:46thinner and also a way to decrease your wrinkles is to get
- 15:51filler in those wrinkles. Oh my.
- 15:53Gosh, and also to accentuate like your cheekbones so she
- 15:57could have gotten, you know, filler to really make them stand
- 16:01out. I know people had that done.
- 16:04Well, just reminds me, it just reminds me of of Michael Jackson
- 16:09or any of that, that situation where he did have a he did have
- 16:12a rare skin or he has a rare skin disease.
- 16:14He's got a disease and but then but then it's it's just
- 16:17continuing taking it to that next step.
- 16:19And I think it just it and this even goes, I think, to Jim
- 16:24Carrey right now. Looks yes, you know, look, but
- 16:27it but is it is it does Jim Carrey just look different
- 16:29because we haven't seen Jim Carrey in a while?
- 16:31I mean, sometimes. So sometimes you'll see an actor
- 16:33like let's say Martin Sheen. Martin Sheen did The West Wing,
- 16:37you know, as the president, haven't seen him.
- 16:39He hasn't done any, or at least we haven't seen him recently.
- 16:41Then when you see him, you know, it's 10 years later, 15 years
- 16:44later, and his hair is as white as white can be.
- 16:47He still looks, yeah, he looks 10 years older because he is 10
- 16:52years older. So I don't think everybody, you
- 16:54know, can look as good as Rob Lowe or Paul Rudd or Paul Rudd.
- 16:59Where they? Where they?
- 17:00You know those guys be getting shit done like you.
- 17:02Think so. Yes, you.
- 17:04You think so? You don't think it's just?
- 17:07You know, I don't know about Paul Rudd, but Rob Lowe, yes,
- 17:10yes, I'd I would bet money he's getting Botox.
- 17:13He's getting something you. Think so you don't think like
- 17:16because your dermatologist said hey, some people just have good
- 17:18genetics. They do, yes.
- 17:20I mean that is very much true, but I think he's getting Botox
- 17:25or something. Well, I, I will tell you really
- 17:28quick, my favorite, one of my favorite memes on the Internet
- 17:31is when they show old actors from the 70s like like Carol
- 17:34O'Connor or Gene Stapleton or right, whatever it is, the
- 17:38three's company, whatever, and, or Alice it or Alice on the
- 17:42Brady Bunch. And you look at me and go, oh
- 17:44God, they look like they're 60. Then they put current hairstyles
- 17:47on them and they look their age because they're like, well,
- 17:50Alice was 38 or whatever. Well, then they put they put a
- 17:53current hairstyle on her and you're like, oh, she's very
- 17:55attractive. Right, just like The Golden
- 17:57Girls, right, Right. Technically when like they're
- 18:01they're in their ages, yes. Yes, yes, yes.
- 18:05That was the Eddie White at the time, being the oldest, yeah,
- 18:08like in 55 or something like that.
- 18:10And she looked like she was, you know, in her late 60s or early
- 18:1370s. Easy.
- 18:15Yeah, I would say 80s. Well, Wilford Brimley, of
- 18:18course, from Cocoon. He was 48 and 75.
- 18:22That is, that's bananas. Yeah, that's bananas when you
- 18:25think about that. He wasn't even a senior, not
- 18:27even close. Not even close, you know.
- 18:30Yeah, I mean, so and then and then you look at today where,
- 18:33you know, you look at The Karate Kid and he's 60 some years old
- 18:36and looks still looks pretty, pretty good.
- 18:39William Zapka, all those guys, you know, So yeah, I, I, I
- 18:44understand the need I get because I know that you and I've
- 18:48talked a lot about when you were a kid and got made fun of and
- 18:52oh, don't, I mean, and, and same here.
- 18:55But yeah, that need to try to perfect yourself as much as
- 19:00humanly possible. But I guess the question is when
- 19:03does it become an illness? Like, okay, that's enough.
- 19:05Like right, which it is. I mean it can spill over into an
- 19:09illness. I watch the on E Oh, shoot, now
- 19:13I'm drawing a blank with like Terry Dubrow and Dr. NASA.
- 19:17If you shit the, the show that they have and they usually have
- 19:21like 2 people who are coming in to get something fixed and it's
- 19:25something that they can fix. And then they have like the one
- 19:28person who obviously has had way too much plastic surgery and now
- 19:33it's it's addictive, it's an illness.
- 19:36And so they have to tell them like, look, if you have this
- 19:40procedure done, you're running like Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing,
- 19:43Bing for this risk. And then usually they, they'll
- 19:45say no, like, we're not going to do this, whatever it is that
- 19:48they're asking of them. But then those people just turn
- 19:51around and go somewhere else or go to a different country and
- 19:54have it done. But it is definitely an illness
- 19:59and can be addictive. So I, I get it.
- 20:03Like, I could see how it would be so easy to slip into
- 20:06something like that, especially I think for those in Hollywood.
- 20:12And especially for a woman, I know like you're a guy and I'm a
- 20:16girl. And so I feel like it's still a
- 20:18little bit different. Like I still have that where
- 20:21like, Oh my gosh, I have to try and stay young.
- 20:24And I feel like that is still there in Hollywood.
- 20:27It has gotten better. I do have to say, thankfully it
- 20:30has gotten better. But that is still like prevalent
- 20:33everywhere. It's not just in Hollywood.
- 20:35You look at all the women in their like, 50s and 60s who
- 20:38struggle to get a job not because of they don't have the
- 20:41experience, right? It's because people just don't
- 20:44want to employ somebody that age.
- 20:46So, yeah, yeah. I think, I think even even right
- 20:50now, it's funny, even in radio from a Top 40, because I
- 20:54remember when I turned 40 back in the day, Cheryl or I was
- 20:58probably 3838 back in the day and Cheryl was like, yeah,
- 21:01you're too old for Top 40 radio. You're too old for Top 40 radio.
- 21:04Now if anybody sounds like Top 40 radio.
- 21:07Right, you don't sound. Old and she goes and she goes,
- 21:10you shouldn't be doing Top 40 radio when I was 38 years old.
- 21:13Well, now I'm 56, you know, are going to be 56.
- 21:16And guess what? I still do.
- 21:17Yeah, I still do top ready. I do Top 40 radio.
- 21:20But but you know, but I've also aged.
- 21:23I get it. I age and I always think to
- 21:25myself that I bet my company, not that they would ever do this
- 21:29to me, but if I I bet if I look different they might.
- 21:33I might not be doing Top 40 radio.
- 21:35Like, like if you look like Wilfred Brimley.
- 21:38Well, right. Yes, yes, yeah.
- 21:40Because, see, because even at even at 50, even at being 56,
- 21:44you know, I got the spiky hit, you know what I'm saying?
- 21:47I mean, I mean, I kind of got, yeah, I kind of, I can still get
- 21:50away with being on Top 40, I guess.
- 21:52Right, you look hip. Well, I don't know if I like,
- 21:55but yes, I mean I look hipper than other people that could be
- 21:59doing it. Is that is that the best way to
- 22:02say it? Yes, you probably look hipper
- 22:04than people that would be in their 20s doing it.
- 22:07So yes, correct, because you and I have worked with a lot of Top
- 22:1040 DJs, sadly with big beer guts and they're sadly bald, you
- 22:14know, at the, at that, at those they.
- 22:17Have a face for radio they. Have a face for radio what they
- 22:20do and they you know, and they and they sound amazing on the
- 22:22radio and then you meet them like whoa.
- 22:23So yeah, I now do you think Jay would stop you if you started
- 22:28going, you know, a little cuckoo on on some of the the makeover
- 22:33and stuff? Yes, which he has always, which
- 22:37he's fine with. However I look, you know, he's
- 22:39never been like made comments about my body or I, you know
- 22:43nothing. Even the.
- 22:44Boobs. Well, I mean, he was happy.
- 22:47That was what you wanted, right? No, but that's what you wanted.
- 22:50Yes, that. Was he did not.
- 22:52Yes, but he did not say. He never said.
- 22:54Me to get the surgery, he was worried about the complications,
- 22:58he was worried about everything that can happen.
- 23:01He's a good man. You know, it's not just an easy
- 23:03breezy surgery that. Some people, some people.
- 23:06So you needed duplications, right?
- 23:08So you needed that for you? Yes, I had had four kids and
- 23:11like that destroys your body like.
- 23:14Some women. Are grab the genetics that they
- 23:17don't look like they have 4 kids and their boobs bounce.
- 23:20But I. Don't.
- 23:21Not mine, not mine. I think it depends, but you
- 23:24didn't have a tummy tuck, did you?
- 23:25No, which I didn't need that. So but now there's the mommy
- 23:29makeover, right, which is like boobs, tummy tuck, liposuction
- 23:35usually, which if you're having all that done, that's a good
- 23:39eight hour surgery easy. And to be under anesthesia for
- 23:43that long would be concerning for me.
- 23:46I don't think I would necessarily want to be under
- 23:48anesthesia for that long. I would probably break it up and
- 23:51do like 1 and then the other surgery but that's just me so.
- 23:55Yeah, I know my one of my former Co partners that I used to do
- 23:58morning show with had a has the breast job, has the tummy tuck
- 24:02right. And now she's does the weather,
- 24:04she does the weather and I think we're the same age and I mean,
- 24:08no, she looks fabulous. She looks she looks great, but
- 24:11she. Needs to do, but again, like
- 24:12she. Has herself.
- 24:14Right or and and now she's on TV.
- 24:17So now I'm sure she has that pressure even more that.
- 24:20Oh my gosh, could you imagine her look?
- 24:21Young like, yeah. Yeah, So that, yeah, because I,
- 24:25I now see, I, I met her like 20 years ago and I did not realize,
- 24:29realize that she was actually heavier sets.
- 24:32So, so I, I don't know if she had lap band surgery or
- 24:35something like that, but I think she did.
- 24:37And then, then she did all the other work that she got done.
- 24:41Not on her face, nothing. Not on her face, nothing on her.
- 24:43Face which if you lose weight that fast then yes you're going
- 24:47to need some type of skin surgeries or something I mean.
- 24:52Or you're just going. To have to live with the skin
- 24:54and. I I just can't imagine, yeah, I
- 24:57just can't imagine the scrutiny. And and then again, but again,
- 25:00we're talking about and it's sad, we're talking about a bunch
- 25:02of keyboard warriors because Kelly Osbourne had to sit there
- 25:05and respond. You know, like you said, you
- 25:07made-up, you made you, you made-up some good points about
- 25:09her dad dying, all these different things.
- 25:12She's in mourning. Technically, yes.
- 25:14And then and then to to call out what she looks like.
- 25:17And then let's let's be honest, the people that call out the
- 25:21looks are twos and ones yes. That's the truth.
- 25:25That's the truth. Love it when people will post
- 25:29the comment, you know, somebody saying something mean about
- 25:33their looks and then they'll go and find a picture of that
- 25:36person and that person looks ugly basically.
- 25:39And they're like, oh, like you should be taught.
- 25:41Like, look at you. So yeah. 99.
- 25:44And it's like turned around on the person making the comment.
- 25:4799% of the planet is not good looking.
- 25:49OK, just put it out there. No, it's not.
- 25:52Good looking is subjective. Like it is subjective.
- 25:55Different what we think is good looking.
- 25:58Yeah, Kelly Clarkson for me. I love.
- 26:01I love me. I love me some Kelly.
- 26:02I don't care. You know what I'm saying?
- 26:03She looks great now. She looks.
- 26:05She's, she's looked great. The whole you know, she, she's
- 26:08my type. Yeah, yeah.
- 26:10You know right, Don't you think? Yes, definitely.
- 26:14But it's her personality, too. Yeah, yeah, she.
- 26:17Is cute it's her it's her personality it's like even when
- 26:20even even as Kelly Clarkson gained weight, I didn't care
- 26:23like to me it's like for me her personality is attractive, right
- 26:27and then she. Still looks great even.
- 26:29Oh it by by other by other standards.
- 26:33Yeah, she'd be tiny. Yeah, yeah.
- 26:36But I look at it's interesting because Pierce Brosnan, who'd
- 26:40been married to his wife for 40 years and she, they got married
- 26:44in like 1990 and she's a supermodel.
- 26:48And then she had four kids and now and now she is, I guess a
- 26:53heavier set. But, but I and people make, I
- 26:58mean, I, I can't believe people make fun of her.
- 27:00She is absolutely still drop dead gorgeous like Pierce
- 27:04Brosnan. And they're like, and a lot of
- 27:05people are like, I can't believe.
- 27:06How does he stay with her? I'm.
- 27:09Just going to say people comment like why is he still with her?
- 27:13What is he thinking? And she's still like and, and,
- 27:17and all he does Pierce Brosnan, all he does on his on his social
- 27:21media is look at my gorgeous wife.
- 27:22She's so, I mean, she is, she's she, she's stunningly.
- 27:27There are, there are big, beautiful, bold people in this
- 27:30world and they're stunning. And you look at them and you
- 27:32look at them and you go, wow, they are stunning.
- 27:34And and then you got some online troll going really from your
- 27:38basement, from your mama's basement.
- 27:40You know, you already know we've talked about this.
- 27:42I have never and I'll even make a joke really quick.
- 27:45I do not understand why the, the, the homeliest person thinks
- 27:51that they deserve a 10. Sorry.
- 27:52It's like, or that, you know, it's like, if they're
- 27:55misogynistic, I'm saying if they're misogynistic.
- 27:58Yeah, if they're misogynistic. I want to clarify that really
- 28:00quick. It's like it's like in the
- 28:03mirror. Right.
- 28:05And those are usually the men that are like who when I get
- 28:08married, my wife better not gain weight or she better lose the
- 28:13weight fast. And it's like you are the
- 28:15dumbest like. Who would?
- 28:19But why would you be married to that?
- 28:20And then and then they, like you said, they the the guy who says
- 28:24it has the biggest beer gut and probably reeks and balding and
- 28:30just just a Neanderthal. And it's like, you know, and
- 28:33it's like, come on. So and then you go and then you
- 28:36go attack, you know, Kelly Clarkson or whatever.
- 28:38Really, really, trust me, you're not even in the same.
- 28:41If there was a universe, you're not even in that universe with
- 28:43that like, like, you know. I just thought it was weird,
- 28:47like circling back to Jim Carrey, people were questioning
- 28:50whether that was really him or if it was like a body double.
- 28:55Yeah, I think partly because he gave his acceptance speech in
- 28:58French and it was pretty damn good, I have to say.
- 29:01Like, I watched it and I was like, damn, that's some good
- 29:03French. I can't.
- 29:04I'm struggling with my Spanish on Duolingo so but I just well,
- 29:09I was like what? Like why do you think that isn't
- 29:12him Like like like I think he might have had some filler like
- 29:16that's what it looks like, but it's still it's still him.
- 29:20I'm like. I think, I think we're not
- 29:22taking into the account is one thing that I can't one thing.
- 29:27Let's see here how old is Jim Carrey?
- 29:29He's in his 60s, right? I want to say he's in his 60s.
- 29:3264641 thing I cannot stand which has happened to me as I get
- 29:38older my mother had a round face now my father did not my father
- 29:42did not and I am so bummed because I guess whose face I
- 29:46inherited in terms of shape right so my face continually.
- 29:51That's why I make the joke about being William Shatner, you know,
- 29:55Because. Because it's like my.
- 29:57Face definitely had some. He's had some work done.
- 30:00Well, yeah, but my face, you know, is, is going wider because
- 30:04as I age, it's not, it's because of it's the my face is a certain
- 30:08my face is a circle. You're a circle.
- 30:10I'm Oval, thankfully. Yes, yes.
- 30:13And that changes the look. Yeah.
- 30:16Of what? Of what you're you know, of what
- 30:17your face is because because I don't The funny thing is I don't
- 30:21weigh that much compared to no, you're a tiny.
- 30:23I don't I'm AI would. Yeah, well, I'm 160.
- 30:26So for a male, that's pretty much normal for my, for I'm 5758
- 30:31and for my height, I, you know, so, so, but because my face is
- 30:35round, you just look, you look different.
- 30:38And I'm like, Oh my gosh, in 10 years, 20 years, these, these
- 30:42flop, these floppers are going to be out there.
- 30:44This flopper is going to be a big old schnauzer.
- 30:46And I've just, I just believe in, in aging gracefully.
- 30:49I think, you know, you should be proud that you've been #1 on
- 30:54this planet as long as you have been you.
- 30:56You've survived everything you've survived.
- 30:59Great. And so Louis have been through
- 31:00way more than other people and not getting to you.
- 31:03Yes. Absolutely, your environment can
- 31:05aid you. There's so many things that can
- 31:07aid you. And I know that Kelly Mcgillis,
- 31:10she started with Tom Cruise in Top Gun and she's like 65 or
- 31:15almost 70 years old and she looks like a woman of her age
- 31:19and she's clap back on people because they're like, oh, you
- 31:22were so gorgeous and dead it in she goes, I'm aging like a
- 31:25normal person. Just like the who's the Who's
- 31:29the actress that plays Samantha on shoot on Sex in the City?
- 31:34I love her, Tim. Catrell Yeah, sorry.
- 31:36Love her. Love her, Yeah.
- 31:38This is same for her too, like she's aging the way that she
- 31:42should age and she hasn't done any of this other stuff and.
- 31:46I. Expect her to stay tiny and
- 31:49cute. I'm loving, I'm loving Pam
- 31:51Anderson right now. Oh, in her natural era.
- 31:54I have so much respect for Pam Anderson.
- 31:56I'm glad that after all, I mean, just but think about that poor
- 31:59woman, you know? And now some people, now there's
- 32:03the devil's advocate, some people.
- 32:05And I don't know if you agree with this or not.
- 32:06That's a good question for you is, well, they're famous.
- 32:09They, they, you know, they deserve what they get.
- 32:11Like they they If you're famous, you deserve the scrutiny you get
- 32:15because you're rich and famous. No, absolutely not.
- 32:18No, I no, I draw, no, I draw a line there.
- 32:21Like I don't think like, yeah, I think that they should be open
- 32:25to fans and that kind of thing. But I draw the line at like, oh,
- 32:29you're famous and you, this is what you sign up for.
- 32:32You don't sign up to be like, look at, look at Kelly Osbourne,
- 32:37like look at this stuff people were saying about her.
- 32:40Like, I'm sorry, you don't sign up for that.
- 32:42Sure, you're going to get some haters, you're going to get some
- 32:46of that stuff. But that was way like.
- 32:48People just go way. Overboard yes and it is not
- 32:52necessary like not necessary at all.
- 32:55So again, I could see like, being concerned for her and
- 32:58being like, girl, like I'm concerned.
- 33:00I'm the same like how we were concerned about Britney Spears
- 33:03when she was posting, you know, manic crazy videos.
- 33:06It's the same kind of thing. Like you're concerned from that
- 33:09for them, but you don't say mean horrible things to them.
- 33:12Like that's not going to help. Right, right, right.
- 33:15Yeah. I mean, well, that I just don't
- 33:16think it's. I mean, I I just don't think it.
- 33:18I think it's inexcusable to. But then again, I was raised
- 33:22like you got nothing nice to say.
- 33:23You keep your mouth you. Don't say it at all.
- 33:25Yes. Yeah, and I would never even on,
- 33:28even on an Internet thing. I have I why why?
- 33:32I mean, I mean, I, I don't know about you, but I already get up
- 33:34and look at myself in the mirror and go, well, that's fugly, you
- 33:37know, I already, I mean, so why? So why would I go do that to
- 33:40somebody else? I know, I already know, you
- 33:43know, we're at an age where I know my strengths, I know my
- 33:46weaknesses. I know, I know there's things I
- 33:48can, I can be better at, you know, and I also think there's
- 33:51things I do pretty good at. I've tried, I've tried to be
- 33:56better. And I think that that's the
- 33:58part, that's the whole part of maturing and growing up.
- 34:01And so, and so when you look at the stars like that, and I mean,
- 34:04I, my, my guys, you know, I look at my, my boys from Mr. Mr. I
- 34:07mean, of course they, they, they've aged.
- 34:09I mean, they're, they're in there.
- 34:10My, my boys are in their 70s and I could care, and I could care
- 34:15less because I love their music. I like it, you know, and they
- 34:19don't perform very often, so when they do, I could give a
- 34:22rat. I could care less about the
- 34:24balding and the beer guts and all that.
- 34:26What? You don't care what they look
- 34:28like as long as they're performing and.
- 34:30Well, no, I just like, I like, I like, I like them.
- 34:33I like, I like them. And so even for my even from,
- 34:36you know, like I said, my my favorite actors, my favorite
- 34:40actors and actresses. I mean, I like him.
- 34:42I like him for the for me, Michael J Fox is the dude.
- 34:45Yes, you know, have you? Watched him on shrinking.
- 34:48I have not because I don't have Apple TV, but I did see the
- 34:51scene that he did with Harrison Ford, which was so good.
- 34:53We watched it. I love that show so.
- 34:55And then I did. He was just at the Actors
- 34:57Awards, Yeah. And he did a little, he did a
- 34:59little speech. And for me, when I think about
- 35:02celebrities, for me, when he sadly goes like for my
- 35:07childhood, Michael J Fox, I want to say for me just personally is
- 35:12my favorite actor for my, for my, you know, for my, my
- 35:16childhood, He's he is my, I loved, I love his mannerisms.
- 35:20I loved everything about him as an actor.
- 35:22And and I like the fact that he's a good guy too.
- 35:26Like but but even growing up as a kid, anytime I see Michael J
- 35:29Fox in a movie I'd like, I didn't care what it was.
- 35:32I don't care if it was a dud. I'm like, this is going to be a
- 35:33good movie because I love. 3. What's that?
- 35:37Fact of the Future 3 or whatever.
- 35:39Oh yeah, well, yeah, but Doc Hollywood so but but I but
- 35:43again, it's like I just I just love his acting, so I always
- 35:48will. He's always like when we talk
- 35:49about, I've always been. I'm one of those people we've
- 35:52talked about that when I decide something's my favorite.
- 35:54Yeah, you're in it to win it. Like that's yours forever,
- 35:57right? So when you talk, when you talk
- 35:59about like actors, Michael J Fox, that's that's my family
- 36:03ties. Was I just I was at that age.
- 36:05That was the show. And sadly, I I probably emulated
- 36:09Michael J Fox by the fact that he was Republican in my youth,
- 36:12not realizing that might not have been the right path to go
- 36:16down. So, but it shows you how you're
- 36:21affected by that. So I was like, oh, Michael
- 36:23Jackson, Michael J Fox is my favorite actor.
- 36:25Oh, he's Republican. Which, of course he wasn't.
- 36:28Well, and I feel like we as when we're young like that,
- 36:31especially like our parents, like say like one of our our
- 36:34parents were Republican. We just go along with whatever
- 36:37we're hearing at home and have no clue really what it means or
- 36:44the just anything attached to it until we get a little bit older.
- 36:47And then we're like, oh, wait, yeah.
- 36:50Yeah, well, that, that was what was so funny that happened to me
- 36:53in my childhood was my school counselor, my junior high
- 36:57counselor when I was with the Wallaces.
- 36:59He saved him and his wife saved my life by the fact when I
- 37:03started high school, I got a call like I think I was a
- 37:05sophomore and they called me out of the blue and they, and he
- 37:09said, Hey, can you, do you want to come out to my ranch on
- 37:12Saturdays and shovel manure, help clean out the stalls and
- 37:16I'll pay you 5 bucks an hour and that'll give you a little bit of
- 37:19spending monies. And so I would go out there on
- 37:22Saturday mornings. It was just three hours every
- 37:24Saturday. So it really turned out to be
- 37:26about 60 bucks a month, you know, in, in high school or a
- 37:31month. And so, and so I went and
- 37:33cleaned out that manure and we would sit at lunch.
- 37:36So after I got done cleaning out the stalls, then we'd sit and
- 37:38discuss politics or just whatever the topics of the day
- 37:40were. And one of the things that they
- 37:42were hardcore Democrat. And, and I'm sitting there
- 37:45trying to play and I'm doing the Republican and go on that right.
- 37:49So, so, and now I'm now looking back, I'm totally flipped on
- 37:52what, what I, what I believe. But I, I, I mean, because,
- 37:55because in Clarkston, where I'm from, it's all, it's all, I
- 37:58mean, it's, it's a red, red county, red, red town and all
- 38:01that. So it's kind of what I only
- 38:02knew. And so then we get into these
- 38:04discussions and they they were, they were Democrats and I was
- 38:08the Republican. And I think today they would be,
- 38:11you know, well, they're they've passed away.
- 38:12But if they discovered that I flipped more than they would be
- 38:16proud. Like no, What's that?
- 38:18They would be proud. But I but I know it.
- 38:20But I know that influence was coming from Michael J Fox and
- 38:23Family Ties. Now on the on the TV show, he
- 38:26didn't do that. I mean, he was just the
- 38:28character, so. Right.
- 38:29Yeah. But you're so impressionable at
- 38:31that young age. Yes, yeah.
- 38:33And you don't know any better. Like you said, lived in
- 38:35Clarkston where it's blood red. The same for.
- 38:38Me in Yakima. Naches blood red.
- 38:40You, you're not exposed and especially back then, you're not
- 38:43exposed to people of different races very much or gay people,
- 38:48gay people back. Then like.
- 38:49That was just the start of them being accepted and being able to
- 38:53come out a little bit and so none of us were really exposed
- 38:57to that. No, the kids, it was
- 38:59interesting. The kids in high school, at
- 39:01least the kids in my class that were they never, they did not
- 39:04come out in high school. They, they, they came out later,
- 39:07you know, and then and then we'd all go.
- 39:09We knew it, you know, you. Oh, we knew it.
- 39:11I mean, but I always feel bad because you should be able to be
- 39:15yourself no matter what. And, and I hate, hate when I
- 39:19hear stories about I, I don't think are when you're that
- 39:22young, you know, I do you lack empathy, I guess, to some
- 39:26extent. I think I think it would just
- 39:29are kids. Better today are are kids, you
- 39:32think? Kids are better to say that.
- 39:34Yeah, yeah, I've seen it better, definitely.
- 39:37And I see the difference in like when Matthew was in high school
- 39:40compared to Jackson, which is maybe like 8 years difference
- 39:47and just the difference from those kids.
- 39:50Like those kids were accepting, but definitely Jackson's age and
- 39:55Shaylee's age, they are Gen. Z.
- 39:57They are definitely way more accepting than any of our
- 40:01generations so. Yeah, I I So there is hope.
- 40:04I guess. I know I love that because I
- 40:07just know that the kids that I went through the school, we
- 40:09suspected but and even our our valedictorian, our valedictorian
- 40:16was definitely gay, but he never came out and so he took a girl
- 40:19to prom. Great, you have to.
- 40:22He did, he did and then and then later and we were at the 10 year
- 40:25reunion and it was a little bio on his life and he goes, Oh
- 40:27yeah, I moved to Japan and discovered that I love young
- 40:29Asian men. And so, so if, you know, made
- 40:32us, you know, but then but then everybody's at the reunion going
- 40:35told you so, told you so knew it, knew it.
- 40:37But I, you know, if I could go back and change some of those,
- 40:40some of those attitudes or those impressions, you know, but but
- 40:44also being a person that has been accused of that my entire
- 40:47life, I do relate. Right.
- 40:49You know, because I because when I first went to work at when I
- 40:52went first went to work at N&B many years ago, New Northwest
- 40:56Broadcasters, one of the guys went up to AJ and goes, Hey,
- 40:59who's the new gay guy working here?
- 41:01Goodness. And and AJ goes, he's not gay.
- 41:03And he's like, well, you know, like buddy, I think he is.
- 41:06And this was a gay and, and the guy who said it was gay.
- 41:09Oh my gosh. Yeah, so he goes.
- 41:11That's. Surprising to me, I expect that
- 41:13from some like head hetero like meat head coming out, he was
- 41:17gay. He was gay and then and then
- 41:20because, because he was a bear. It's like when AJ said, Oh yeah,
- 41:24but he's gay. And I went what?
- 41:27Because he was like, he was like he did, you know, if I, if I, if
- 41:33I was, if I was, I would have to say that the bear is not my
- 41:37type. I don't think so.
- 41:39I don't think so. Not that I would.
- 41:40I, I mean, not that I, you know, not that we're ever going to go
- 41:43down this road, but. But I don't, I mean, I, he had
- 41:46to. Yeah, I don't, I don't, you
- 41:48know, But again, I'm not into Neanderthal men anyway, so.
- 41:51Right. No, I don't.
- 41:52Like that, I want some yes, I want some intelligence.
- 41:54That's what I that's what I care about more than anything.
- 41:57Anything else is, you know, personality, personality.
- 41:59So yeah, yeah. But but I, so I'm glad to hear
- 42:03that it's, it's better because I yeah.
- 42:06We, we, I don't know. I don't, I don't, I, I don't
- 42:10think our generation did. We did OK.
- 42:12I couldn't imagine the generation ahead of us was even
- 42:15worse. Probably.
- 42:15No, like we got bullied, Gen. X got bullied, we got bullied
- 42:20here. A lot of us got bullied at
- 42:23school and then at home. So like we couldn't escape being
- 42:27bullied. Like it was either someone that
- 42:29we knew, trusted and loved at home being our the bully.
- 42:34And then at school, we were getting in at school so we
- 42:36couldn't escape it. But thankfully, I think that's
- 42:39gotten better. Millennials, like they're, you
- 42:42know, it's gotten progressively better.
- 42:44It's still there, but you know it's not quickly gone.
- 42:49I will tell you a funny story. It happened to me when I was, I
- 42:51think 18 years old. So I have, besides my siblings,
- 42:54I do have half siblings that that I don't necessarily, I mean
- 42:58that. I mean, I do know some of them.
- 43:00I just discovered one out of the blue a few years back.
- 43:03But I've always known about my half sister Tammy, who's
- 43:06probably pushing 70. So she was easily 15 years older
- 43:09than us, us kids, us Van Zandt kids.
- 43:12Anyway, she's my, she is my dad's daughter.
- 43:15And I remember turning 18 or about 18 or so, 17 or 18.
- 43:19And I remember my, my real mom saying, Oh well, well, Tammy,
- 43:22Tammy has come out as a lesbian. And I went, wow, she's lesbian.
- 43:27And then my mother, my flesh and blood mother, said, well,
- 43:30Virgil, we always thought you were going to be the gay 1.
- 43:32So so I said, well, I'm not, I'm I go, I'm not gay.
- 43:37What are you talking about? I mean, there there are things
- 43:40as a mom, right that. That was my mom.
- 43:43That was my mom. Yeah.
- 43:45My real. My real mom.
- 43:46Not my foster parents. My real mom, yeah.
- 43:49You see, you watch your child and you're like, OK, you know?
- 43:55I get it. Maybe you know, and so it yeah,
- 44:00I don't know. She just not based on probably
- 44:03like your mannerisms how you. Oh, I'm sure everybody thinks
- 44:07that. I mean certain.
- 44:08Things. Yeah, yeah.
- 44:09But that doesn't mean you're going to be or you are or.
- 44:13No, I just, I just laugh because the energy or the kinetic energy
- 44:18that I do is from my mother. It's not from my dad.
- 44:22My dad. My dad was kind of quiet.
- 44:23My dad was quiet. Not much of A talker.
- 44:26My mother kinetic energy, my real mom was absolutely just
- 44:31bounced. She's just, she just the nail
- 44:34biting. I I inherited from her just the
- 44:37just the like a Chihuahua. I mean, she had that, she had
- 44:42that. That's just her personality.
- 44:44Right. And so genetically, I feel like
- 44:46that's I inherited a lot of a lot of the when she's talking
- 44:52about mannerisms, you know, gay, you're gay.
- 44:54What what are you talking about? I inherited this is you, is you
- 44:59and I see it's so and what's so funny is you're like.
- 45:01I'm the guy version of you like. Exactly.
- 45:04And then it makes me laugh is because I see so much of Logan
- 45:08in his mannerisms, which is so weird is in your own kids
- 45:12because you see your own mannerisms and do you see that
- 45:17in your own kids from you guys? Sometimes, yes.
- 45:19And it's funny now that now that Matthews friends have met me, we
- 45:24went to San Francisco in May of last year.
- 45:27And now that his friends have met me, I was like, hey, what
- 45:31did your friends think of me, blah, blah, blah.
- 45:33And they're like, well, they can definitely tell.
- 45:35Like where I get some of my idiocrates and maneurisms from
- 45:40you. And I was like, is Scooter, is
- 45:42that bad? Like, is this a compliment or is
- 45:44this not like, I don't know how to take this OK, as long as they
- 45:48didn't not like, as long as they, you know, liked me,
- 45:51whatever, whatever, like. You were, you were.
- 45:54You were just bummed because I'm assuming that they didn't think
- 45:56you were a MILF. So you're like what?
- 45:58Well. No, they did say that.
- 46:00No, no, they did say that. They said, like, your mom's
- 46:03gorgeous, but then like some of Matthew's friends who are gay
- 46:07were like, yeah, your dad's hot too, So.
- 46:09So I'm like, OK. That just made my day.
- 46:16Yeah, yeah. So yeah.
- 46:18Made but then. But then Matthew's like, well,
- 46:22those are the friends that have daddy issues.
- 46:24So I. OK.
- 46:25Yeah, of course, of course. So he's like, I don't, I don't
- 46:28know. Oh my gosh, that that's that
- 46:31that's that's that's the best. That is awesome.
- 46:34I mean, we've been. Talking about looks forever.
- 46:40Yeah. I don't know what else we can
- 46:42do. Yeah, yeah.
- 46:42Well, I did want to talk about there's so many other things I
- 46:45want to talk about, but since we're just talking about looks
- 46:47and we'll just stay on that, I do want to talk about that
- 46:51airport who is trying to make it illegal for people to fly in
- 46:53their pajamas. I can't remember which one it
- 46:55is, but I just saw this. It's ridiculous.
- 46:58Yeah, I. Just saw the little blurp about
- 46:59it and I was like, really like, is this what we're focusing on?
- 47:03Like I get that yes, back in the day, everybody dressed up to fly
- 47:09on an airplane. I also have pictures of my
- 47:11grandma in, like, a white dress and of course, and shoes up in
- 47:15the mountains in, like, the dirt and stuff because they dressed
- 47:18up for everything. And it's like, things are
- 47:21different now. Yeah.
- 47:23And who's, First off, who's going to police this?
- 47:26Who's going to be the Fashion Police and be like, oh, and how
- 47:29are you going to tell what is pajamas and what isn't pajamas?
- 47:32Because there's loungewear. Like, is that going to
- 47:34constitute as pajamas? I like my loungewear.
- 47:37It doesn't look like pajamas, but it's comfy.
- 47:39And if I'm flying on a red eye and I want to sleep, I want to
- 47:43be comfortable. I don't want to be in dressed up
- 47:45in a suit And whatever they're expecting us to wear.
- 47:49I don't know. I'm like, this is ridiculous.
- 47:52So Tampa International started it as a no, started it as a
- 47:57joke. And they were targeting sleepers
- 47:59and Crocs. And then and then that is when
- 48:02your favorite administration, the US Transportation Secretary
- 48:06Sean Duffy, oh, took it. Well, everybody should be
- 48:09dressed up at the airport. Yeah.
- 48:12Well, remember back in the day when people get dressed up to go
- 48:14shopping set to the grocery store?
- 48:17People wear Crocs because you have to take your goddamn shoes
- 48:19off at the airport, which I know they relax at, but so I get like
- 48:23wearing shoes that you could just slip on and off.
- 48:26And if you want to wear a sleeper, you can wear a sleeper,
- 48:29you can wear a onesie. Who cares?
- 48:31At least you're covered. It's not like you're exposing
- 48:34anybody parts. Yeah, so.
- 48:36So Tampa International has a history of doing mockery stuff.
- 48:41Satire, but but of course, the administration takes it as real,
- 48:46took it as, you know, as usual. So they were they?
- 48:50Tampa International was joking. Oh, OK.
- 48:53You know, so it's kind of like, yeah.
- 48:55So they, yeah, they were joking about it.
- 48:57And then of course, that the current administration has to
- 49:00take it on a run, basically. Right.
- 49:02Which some of those airplanes are freezing, freezing cold.
- 49:07You could take a blanket and you're still cold.
- 49:11Like it's horrible and you don't know what from flight to flight,
- 49:14what's going to be cold and what is it going to be cold.
- 49:15And they don't give you. I'm sorry.
- 49:17It's kind of like going to Motel 6.
- 49:18They don't give you a real blanket when you go to Motel 6
- 49:20anymore. Yeah, that might.
- 49:22Yeah. Like, I can, I mean, wipe my
- 49:24butt with it. It's because it's that thin.
- 49:26I mean, it's just. Yeah.
- 49:27That's like, I love that when you go to that, like Motel 6,
- 49:29you're like, oh, I'm gonna get an extra blanket out of the
- 49:31closet. And it's not.
- 49:33It's like, it's like a towel. It's like it's.
- 49:34Like A1 ply. One ply.
- 49:36It's A1 ply so it's the same thing in the on the air.
- 49:39I know you can't have things that are heavy.
- 49:41I get it can't have things that are heavy.
- 49:42But it makes me laugh that that we can't even get a proper
- 49:45blanket to keep warm if you're looking.
- 49:47For it, there's no I bring my own.
- 49:49I bring my own blankie. I try and wear like layers.
- 49:53Depending on the season, it's going to be freezing cold on.
- 49:56Even in the summer, some of those airplanes are for
- 49:58freezing. So I do have to ask you now, so,
- 50:02and this might be a great way to wrap up the podcast.
- 50:05Okay, so when I come home, when I come home from work, I pretty
- 50:09much don't want to leave. Like when I come home, I'm done
- 50:12to the day. So if I've got errands to do, I
- 50:14do the errands before I come home.
- 50:15And then when I get home, I am in my pajamas.
- 50:18Great, you put on your loungewear.
- 50:20Yes, my loungewear and it could be still one or two.
- 50:22Rocks and your slippers. Right.
- 50:24Yeah, and I'm in my loungewear. You have to.
- 50:26You also get up at like 4 AMI. Do I do so for me, I want to, I
- 50:31when I'm at home, I want to be comfortable.
- 50:32So, so when you're at home and Jay's gone for the week or
- 50:36whatever, are you in loungewear? Are you dressed?
- 50:38Dressed. It depends.
- 50:40Sometimes I'm in loungewear and sometimes I'm still dressed.
- 50:44It depends on like a, how lazy am I?
- 50:46Do I am I so lazy that I'm not changing out of my current
- 50:49clothes? Like sometimes that happens and
- 50:51I'm just like, I'm just going to stay.
- 50:53And then sometimes it's like depending on what I'm wearing.
- 50:56If it's something that for me as a female, you know, we don't
- 50:59always wear the comfiest of clothes, right?
- 51:01And sometimes it's like, OK, I have to get out of this and then
- 51:04I'll put the loungewear and sometimes I want to wear
- 51:06loungewear. It just really depends on what
- 51:08kind of mood I'm in and how lazy I am on that.
- 51:10Thing I was going to say so yeah, cuz to me it's like, yeah,
- 51:13I mean I the first thing I do, it's kind of like you take it
- 51:16off the bra when you get home from something.
- 51:17I'm like, I'm like, I got to wear I wear jeans at work and
- 51:20those jeans I they got to come off and put on some PJ bottoms
- 51:24and I might keep I might keep the top shirt on, but but it's
- 51:27like for me I'm, I'm, I'm built for comfort and and is that and
- 51:31is that a, is that a thing of age?
- 51:32I don't, I think. Partly, but I think also young
- 51:35people are like that too. They want to be comfy and just
- 51:39be. Yeah, just be in their little
- 51:41loungewear and their blankie and, you know, Netflix sing and
- 51:44chill. So I get it.
- 51:46We all want to. Oh, is that Roxy?
- 51:48That's Roxy. Hi, Roxy.
- 51:51There's Roxy. Hi.
- 51:52Oh, she's looking so old. She is, but she she was down
- 51:55there. She was down there begging for
- 51:57cuddles and. Wanted to get up, so she she
- 51:59needed to sit in your. Lungs.
- 52:00She wants to walk along the desk is what she wants to do.
- 52:05I'm not going to say my dogs are spoiled, but but she wants to
- 52:09walk. She wants to walk.
- 52:10Yeah. It's like she want.
- 52:11It's not that she want. She doesn't want to be in my
- 52:13lap. She wants to walk along this
- 52:15desk. And she'll even lay down.
- 52:17Oh. Because I did post a picture of
- 52:19her laying down on the desk. Yeah.
- 52:21On my on my Facebook. Oh, Barkley.
- 52:25I haven't been on Facebook in a while so I'll have to check it
- 52:27out so. Yeah, so there you go.
- 52:29So little little Roxy love for our for our viewers.
- 52:32There. OK, well, I think that's a great
- 52:34way to end little little Roxy love.
- 52:37That's it for today's episode of Rick and That Michelle.
- 52:40Check. Thanks for hanging out with us.
