Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: You know that Ilhan Omar is in deep, deep trouble
- 0:03Speaker 1: with this criminal investigation. You know that because you've been
- 0:06Speaker 1: right here for a long time hearing us detail exactly
- 0:10Speaker 1: what's involved in the raid on her home and even
- 0:14Speaker 1: all of the questions that we've had about Ilhan Omar,
- 0:17Speaker 1: even leading up to that raid a couple of weeks ago.
- 0:20Speaker 1: But you know that because you watch this show. The
- 0:23Speaker 1: readers of The New York Times, right up until this morning,
- 0:26Speaker 1: they knew nothing about it. Now they do. New York
- 0:33Speaker 1: Times today, headline Ilhan Omar investigation involves new scrutiny of
- 0:37Speaker 1: long disputed marriage. I love it when they admit to
- 0:40Speaker 1: their readers that they have ignored a story. And that
- 0:44Speaker 1: their readers, if they just relied on the New York
- 0:47Speaker 1: Times for all the news that's fit to print, that
- 0:50Speaker 1: they'd be clueless about this story that we've been talking
- 0:52Speaker 1: about for, what, years? New scrutiny. New scrutiny? No, it's
- 1:01Speaker 1: the same scrutiny, guys. Bill Malusion points out the Obama
- 1:06Speaker 1: administration investigated Representative Ilhan Omar. Yeah, let me just pause
- 1:10Speaker 1: here for a second because I like to correct the record.
- 1:13Speaker 1: We had told you, based on all of the information
- 1:17Speaker 1: and facts that we knew at our disposal, that it
- 1:20Speaker 1: was the Biden administration that had begun the investigation into
- 1:23Speaker 1: Ilhan Omar and a lot of questions and discrepancies about
- 1:25Speaker 1: her finance, about her immigration status, about the marriage, all
- 1:29Speaker 1: this stuff. And we regret the error. We were wrong.
- 1:33Speaker 1: And we'd like to correct the record as soon as possible.
- 1:35Speaker 1: It was not the Biden administration. Now, the Ilhan Omar
- 1:37Speaker 1: people and the Rashida Tlaib people and the Democrats, they'll
- 1:40Speaker 1: tell you that this is all about Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump.
- 1:42Speaker 1: And we've responded and say, no, actually, Biden started this.
- 1:44Speaker 1: And we were wrong. It was Obama. It was the
- 1:49Speaker 1: Obama administration that first started scrutinizing all of this information. OK,
- 1:58Speaker 1: we regret the error. The Obama administration investigated Ilhan Omar
- 2:04Speaker 1: in 2016 and found, quote, some evidence that Ms. Omar
- 2:09Speaker 1: had entered into a sham marriage with a man suspected
- 2:13Speaker 1: of being her brother, unquote. But the case and potential
- 2:16Speaker 1: felony charges stalled because of a five year statute of limitations. Oh, gosh, guys,
- 2:21Speaker 1: there's a statute of limitations. Sorry. It's almost like ignoring
- 2:26Speaker 1: a crime. and not pursuing the evidence that would lead
- 2:30Speaker 1: to an indictment or an arrest or a conviction, just
- 2:34Speaker 1: ignoring it is almost a way for you to sort of,
- 2:37Speaker 1: you know, have it both ways. Oh yeah, we looked
- 2:39Speaker 1: into that and gee, we'd love to pursue it, but
- 2:42Speaker 1: statute of limitations. Now hold that thought for a second,
- 2:47Speaker 1: by the way, even fusion can, Ken Delaney and one
- 2:51Speaker 1: of the, in my opinion, one of the most duplicitous
- 2:56Speaker 1: and maybe even corrupt journalists in Washington, D.C. Of course,
- 3:00Speaker 1: he's at MS now. Even he posted this New York
- 3:04Speaker 1: Times article on his social media, quoting, federal agents in
- 3:08Speaker 1: Minnesota found evidence suggesting that Mr. Elmey and Ms. Omar
- 3:11Speaker 1: were siblings, meaning Representative Omar married her brother, according to
- 3:15Speaker 1: the six former and current officials familiar with the case.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Six sources on this. But because prosecutors didn't pursue the matter,
- 3:23Speaker 1: The agents had limited investigative tools, the official said. Why
- 3:26Speaker 1: didn't they pursue the matter? Oh, well, that's a mystery,
- 3:30Speaker 1: isn't it? By the way, understand the other shoe that's
- 3:35Speaker 1: about to drop in this story based on the New
- 3:38Speaker 1: York Times reporting here. It's right there before your very eyes.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Do you see it? Evidence suggesting that Mr. Elmi and Ms.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Omar were siblings. Well, wait a second. If they were siblings...
- 3:52Speaker 1: why don't they have the same last name? Oh, they
- 3:58Speaker 1: do have the same last name. And that means the
- 4:03Speaker 1: continued use of a fake and fraudulent name in official
- 4:06Speaker 1: federal documents, including immigration and passport forms, that would be
- 4:12Speaker 1: continued fraud and continued crimes that go well beyond the
- 4:16Speaker 1: statute of limitations. And if she continued to perpetuate this fraud,
- 4:20Speaker 1: in any kind of official filings or documents or forms, well,
- 4:24Speaker 1: that just starts the clock ticking again on that statute
- 4:27Speaker 1: of limitations. It's almost like if you've got prosecutors and
- 4:29Speaker 1: investigators who are really intent on finding the bad guys
- 4:32Speaker 1: and prosecuting crimes, no matter the political affiliation, you'll be
- 4:35Speaker 1: able to get your guy or gal. So thanks, Fusion Ken.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Thanks for pointing that out. Let's get to the New
- 4:44Speaker 1: York Times article. We subscribe so you don't have to.
- 4:47Speaker 1: The federal investigation of Representative Ilhan Omar is focused in
- 4:50Speaker 1: part on whether she entered into a sham marriage in
- 4:54Speaker 1: 2009 to help a man suspected of being her brother
- 4:56Speaker 1: obtain a green card, according to current and former officials
- 4:59Speaker 1: familiar with the matter. That's a crime. The FBI and
- 5:02Speaker 1: Department of Homeland Security investigated the marriage in summer 2016
- 5:06Speaker 1: during the Obama administration and found some evidence that it
- 5:09Speaker 1: was fraudulent, current and former officials said, in speculation that Ms.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Omar committed marriage fraud with her brother, has shadowed the
- 5:15Speaker 1: Minnesota Democrat's political career for more than a decade. And
- 5:18Speaker 1: President Trump repeated the accusation last week. She has long
- 5:22Speaker 1: called it a right wing conspiracy theory. And that's why
- 5:24Speaker 1: we at The New York Times haven't pursued it. Oh,
- 5:27Speaker 1: I'm sorry. They didn't write that. They were just thinking it.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 5:32Speaker 1: What they said was federal officials debunked during her first
- 5:35Speaker 1: race for elected office in twenty sixteen. But that case stalled,
- 5:39Speaker 1: chiefly because prosecutors concluded the potential crime of felony fell
- 5:43Speaker 1: outside of five-year statute of limitations, according to the current
- 5:45Speaker 1: and former officials, most of whose law enforcement careers span
- 5:48Speaker 1: several presidential administrations. Murmurs that Ms. Omar married a brother
- 5:54Speaker 1: first surfaced publicly in 2016 when she was on the
- 5:56Speaker 1: brink of making history as the first Somali-American elected to
- 5:59Speaker 1: a state legislature. A first-time candidate, she had just defeated
- 6:03Speaker 1: a 44-year incumbent to the primary Democratic primary to represent
- 6:07Speaker 1: a Minneapolis district when Somali community message boards and conservative
- 6:11Speaker 1: outlets claimed that she had once married a sibling. It's
- 6:14Speaker 1: called Powerline Blog. It's one of the OG blogs from
- 6:18Speaker 1: the earliest days of the blogosphere. His name is Scott Johnson.
- 6:24Speaker 1: He's a stud. Say his name. I hate them. The
- 6:30Speaker 1: New York Times. It would have been fine if they
- 6:33Speaker 1: had just said Powerline Blog. and citizen journalist Scott Johnson,
- 6:38Speaker 1: but they can't bring themselves to do it. They're so
- 6:41Speaker 1: freaking elitist and old school that they just have conservative outlets.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Powerline blog. They're brilliant. Scott's a mensch. The Medicare annual

- 8:02Speaker 1: agents in Minnesota opened investigation. According to several people familiar
- 8:06Speaker 1: with the matter, they found evidence suggesting that Mr. Elmy
- 8:09Speaker 1: and Ms. Omar were siblings, according to the six former
- 8:12Speaker 1: and current officials familiar with the case. But because prosecutors
- 8:15Speaker 1: did not pursue the matter, the agents had limited investigative tools.
- 8:18Speaker 1: The officials said, why did the prosecutors pursue the matter? Again,
- 8:22Speaker 1: it's a mystery. Mr. Elmey had obtained a provisional two-year
- 8:25Speaker 1: green card based on the marriage, two former officials said.
- 8:28Speaker 1: But when he sought to make that status permanent, immigration
- 8:30Speaker 1: officials requested additional evidence about the validity of the marriage.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Instead of responding, Mr. Elmey left the United States and
- 8:37Speaker 1: abandoned his green card petition. The officials said, boy, that
- 8:44Speaker 1: would be suspicious behavior, wouldn't it? Hey, I want to
- 8:48Speaker 1: make my status permanent here. I want to be a citizen.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Oh, really?
- 8:53Speaker 1: Okay, great. Can you give us more evidence about this
- 8:55Speaker 1: marriage of yours? Were you married a U.S. citizen? We
- 8:57Speaker 1: would love to have more information. Oh, never mind. I'm
- 9:00Speaker 1: out of here. And so then, of course, investigators just
- 9:04Speaker 1: dropped the matter. But shouldn't you then investigate the person
- 9:08Speaker 1: that he was married to? That would be Ohan Omar.
- 9:12Speaker 1: That would be Ohan Omar. So it was the Obama
- 9:16Speaker 1: administration that began this investigation in 2016, and they had
- 9:20Speaker 1: evidence to suggest that. that this was sham marriage, and
- 9:23Speaker 1: this is before Ilhan Omar ran for Congress. I hope
- 9:26Speaker 1: you caught that in the story. She defeated in the
- 9:29Speaker 1: Democrat primary a 40-plus-year Democrat incumbent in the state legislature.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Sound familiar? This is how these radicals gained power. It's
- 9:40Speaker 1: how AOC gained power. It's how a bunch of these
- 9:44Speaker 1: DSA candidates who are now coming to Congress this November
- 9:48Speaker 1: because they're running in deep blue districts came to power.
- 9:51Speaker 1: It's how Ilhan Omar came to power. They run to
- 9:55Speaker 1: the radical left of an incumbent Democrat and they eat
- 9:59Speaker 1: the party out from the inside. This is the pattern
- 10:02Speaker 1: of behavior. And Obama was just fine with it. In fact,
- 10:08Speaker 1: if you remember right last week when the investigation was
- 10:11Speaker 1: announced into Ilhan Omar, Barack Obama did something very, very rare.
- 10:17Speaker 1: He put out a very lengthy written statement condemning the
- 10:21Speaker 1: investigation into Ilhan Omar. It's a basic principle of American
- 10:26Speaker 1: democracy that the government isn't selectively target individuals simply because
- 10:29Speaker 1: of their political beliefs or what they say. I'm sorry,
- 10:32Speaker 1: that's Barack Obama telling me this? Barack Obama? Yeah, we
- 10:35Speaker 1: already investigated this statement and blew it apart the other day.
- 10:39Speaker 1: But now we bring it to your attention again because
- 10:42Speaker 1: knowing that it was his administration that actually pursued this
- 10:46Speaker 1: investigation in the first place, and then suddenly they just, oh,
- 10:49Speaker 1: nothing to see here, forget it. Go everybody look the
- 10:51Speaker 1: other way, statute of limitations, no evidence, stop pursuing it.
- 10:54Speaker 1: It makes you wonder again why Obama decided to extend
- 10:57Speaker 1: himself on this issue in particular and put out this
- 11:00Speaker 1: long diatribe about Ilhan Omar and about how she should
- 11:05Speaker 1: not be investigated. Maybe, just maybe, he was aware of
- 11:08Speaker 1: that investigation. Maybe, you think? Interesting, very interesting. It also
- 11:15Speaker 1: reminds us of this glorious moment during her one interview
- 11:18Speaker 1: that she's granted to a very friendly Chris Hayes at
- 11:21Speaker 1: MS Now, and even here she stumbled. Who was this
- 11:25Speaker 1: man that was your husband? When did they start saying
- 11:27Speaker 1: that he was your brother?
- 11:28Speaker 2: Why? I started with the Somali blog that I don't
- 11:35Speaker 2: know if it still exists, but somebody put in there that,
- 11:38Speaker 2: you know, that he had to have been my brother
- 11:40Speaker 2: or something to that effect. And right-wing conspiracy theorists in
- 11:47Speaker 2: Minneapolis got a hold of it, and they just kind
- 11:49Speaker 2: of went and, like, found random people who were like,
- 11:52Speaker 2: she introduced us. You know, she introduced him to us
- 11:56Speaker 2: and said he was her brother, which is.
- 12:00Speaker 1: You know, insane.
- 12:01Speaker 2: I mean, I don't I don't know those people that
- 12:03Speaker 2: they talk about.
- 12:05Speaker 1: He was not you were not related to him at all.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Not that there's not like.
- 12:08Speaker 1: There's a weird kernel of truth that through some game.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Not to my knowledge.
- 12:13Speaker 1: That's great. Not to my knowledge. Well, I live in infamy. Hey,
- 12:16Speaker 1: quick follow up. You said it was a Somali blog
- 12:19Speaker 1: and right wing outlets and all that stuff. But isn't
- 12:22Speaker 1: it true that federal investigators under the Obama administration pursued this, too?
- 12:26Speaker 1: I mean, how do you explain that? Can you hear me? Hello?
- 12:33Speaker 1: Can you? Is she not? I don't think she heard that.
- 12:36Speaker 1: She looked good, though. She made sure she got the
- 12:38Speaker 1: makeup going. Remember the day before we saw her in
- 12:40Speaker 1: the car and she had puffy eyes like she had
- 12:42Speaker 1: been crying and all that stuff. But she made sure
- 12:44Speaker 1: she looked good for the interview. And she looked great
- 12:47Speaker 1: as she was going to the mall yesterday. Wait, is
- 12:49Speaker 1: that really her? Hold on. Blow that up. Is that
- 12:52Speaker 1: really her? Are we sure this is her? She looks different. Well,
- 12:55Speaker 1: apparently somebody at Fox News Digital said, and captured a
- 12:58Speaker 1: woman who is purportedly Ilhan Omar. She decided to have
- 13:02Speaker 1: an outing. She went to the Mall of America. Sorry, what?
- 13:07Speaker 1: I'm sorry. It's the Mall of Somalia in America. Wait,
- 13:11Speaker 1: is that just the Mall of America and now we
- 13:12Speaker 1: call it the Mall of Somalia just because, you know?
- 13:15Speaker 1: Or is there actually a Mall of Somalia that competes
- 13:17Speaker 1: with the Mall of America? Well, wherever it is, she
- 13:19Speaker 1: was at the food court. can i just tell you
- 13:36Speaker 1: that she posed for pictures it's the carmel mall of
- 13:40Speaker 1: somalia in suburban minneapolis because of course you wouldn't go
- 13:43Speaker 1: to the mall of america can i just tell you
- 13:45Speaker 1: my favorite part look at the security look at the
- 13:47Speaker 1: cop watching her he's like he's not watching because he's
- 13:52Speaker 1: protecting her he's like she looks shady I'm going to
- 13:55Speaker 1: keep my eye on her. Something's going on there. So
- 14:01Speaker 1: she did this public appearance and she met people and
- 14:03Speaker 1: they wanted to take pictures with her. And look at
- 14:05Speaker 1: the Somali flag right next to the Palestinian flag. That's terrific.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Two fake countries. Good for her. She's looking good, isn't she?
- 14:14Speaker 1: Sure she is. That's Minnesota for you. I mean, you
- 14:19Speaker 1: think about Minnesota and all you can think about now are,
- 14:21Speaker 1: you know, fake flags of fake countries, including their brand
- 14:24Speaker 1: new fake state flag. And you think about fraud. You
- 14:28Speaker 1: think about fraud at every level. And we've got a
- 14:32Speaker 1: new wrinkle because apparently Minnesota is also involved in. Oh,
- 14:38Speaker 1: excuse me. Sorry, I'm jumping ahead of myself because there's
- 14:41Speaker 1: so much fraud to talk about today. There's one more
- 14:44Speaker 1: wrinkle in this investigation now, and it seems to be
- 14:47Speaker 1: a smoke screen put up by supporters of Ilhan Omar
- 14:51Speaker 1: and opponents to truth, justice and the American way. They
- 14:55Speaker 1: are now pounding the table and screaming because they don't
- 14:57Speaker 1: have any evidence on their side. And they hate the
- 15:00Speaker 1: fact that The New York Times has to concede that
- 15:02Speaker 1: the investigation started with Barack Obama. So they're trying to
- 15:05Speaker 1: distract from all of that. And the distraction is this.
- 15:08Speaker 1: They want to know. What the federal investigators said to
- 15:12Speaker 1: a judge to obtain a search warrant. They want details
- 15:17Speaker 1: on the search warrant. Now, it's very unorthodox for investigators
- 15:21Speaker 1: to unseal a search warrant for various reasons. But Democrats
- 15:26Speaker 1: are pounding the table and screaming for it. Here's how
- 15:28Speaker 1: Fox reported.
- 15:29Speaker 3: To deny requests for the warrant's release, Jeanine Pirro saying
- 15:32Speaker 3: it would jeopardize the investigation into Ilhan Omar's investigation immigration probe.
- 15:39Speaker 1: She used a fake name to be sworn in.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I assume she will immediately resign from Congress.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Trump's call for Omar's resignation prompting an email solicitation stating, quote,
- 15:52Speaker 3: Ilhan's not going anywhere, but it's cute that Trump thinks
- 15:55Speaker 3: he can call on her to resign. This comes as
- 15:58Speaker 3: the congresswoman raised $ 847, 000 the day of the raid and
- 16:00Speaker 3: $ 665, 000 the day after the raid. And while 40 Democrats
- 16:01Speaker 3: declined to back Omar, nearly 200 Dems signed a letter
- 16:03Speaker 3: to the DOJ and DHS saying this, quote, We write
- 16:16Speaker 3: to express our unequivocal opposition to your raid of Congresswoman
- 16:20Speaker 3: Ilhan Omar's home. We are profoundly alarmed by your weaponization
- 16:24Speaker 3: of federal law enforcement against her and demand you refrain
- 16:27Speaker 3: from taking any further actions that could affect the outcome
- 16:30Speaker 3: of any upcoming election.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Hold on a second. Well, what's the part of the
- 16:33Speaker 1: letter where all of those members of Congress who signed
- 16:36Speaker 1: that letter said, we know Ilhan Omar, we work with
- 16:38Speaker 1: Ilhan Omar. She is a woman of the highest character
- 16:41Speaker 1: and integrity, and she would never do this. We are
- 16:44Speaker 1: confident that she is not guilty of any of these fake,
- 16:47Speaker 1: bogus crimes that you're investigating. Where's that part of the letter?
- 16:50Speaker 1: Do we have that part of the letter? Did they
- 16:51Speaker 1: put that in the letter? They did not put that
- 16:53Speaker 1: in the letter. They're screaming about procedure. It's all about procedure.
- 16:58Speaker 1: You can't investigate her right now. You can't investigate her
- 17:04Speaker 1: if it's going to affect the election. You can't investigate
- 17:09Speaker 1: her unless you release the contents of the search warrant.
- 17:12Speaker 2: What?
- 17:13Speaker 1: Why is that a thing all of a sudden?
- 17:15Speaker 3: Omar is seeking reelection in Minnesota's 5th Congressional District in
- 17:19Speaker 3: one week as she denies the allegations that she and
- 17:21Speaker 3: her family committed immigration fraud. But if the investigation shows otherwise, guys,
- 17:25Speaker 3: the congresswoman could face both criminal charges and denaturalization. Meantime,
- 17:30Speaker 3: the fight over whether to unseal the records is being
- 17:33Speaker 3: overseen by District Judge James Bosberg.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Wait, what? Oh, great. So remember, they got D.C. judges
- 17:42Speaker 1: to sign off on the warrants to search her home.
- 17:46Speaker 1: And we recognized at the time that that's an extraordinary
- 17:49Speaker 1: thing because they're all Democrats. They know the political implications.
- 17:53Speaker 1: So the evidence in that warrant must have been overwhelming
- 17:56Speaker 1: for even a D.C. judge at this moment against a
- 17:59Speaker 1: Democrat and Ilhan Omar, of all people, to say, oh, yeah,
- 18:02Speaker 1: you definitely you get your warrant here. Search away. Right.
- 18:06Speaker 1: And so now. The argument is we want to see
- 18:10Speaker 1: what's in that warrant. We want you to see it,
- 18:12Speaker 1: knowing that as Judge Jeanine Pirro just said, you know,
- 18:15Speaker 1: we can't do that. That would compromise the investigation. It
- 18:18Speaker 1: would actually give a roadmap to the defendant about what
- 18:22Speaker 1: we're pursuing. It would allow the defendant or excuse me,
- 18:25Speaker 1: not the defendant, the the person of interest in our
- 18:30Speaker 1: investigation to. to actually have an understanding of the evidence
- 18:33Speaker 1: that we already have and all of those things. And
- 18:35Speaker 1: they're not entitled to see all of that as we
- 18:36Speaker 1: continue together. It would allow them to destroy evidence. Theoretically,
- 18:39Speaker 1: there are a lot of reasons why the contents of
- 18:42Speaker 1: a search warrant at this point of an investigation is
- 18:45Speaker 1: not released. Democrats know that. And so they're throwing up
- 18:48Speaker 1: a smoke screen and they're trying to create this. Oh,
- 18:51Speaker 1: they're hiding something. They're hiding something. Where's the transparency here?
- 18:56Speaker 1: And they know better. So what did they do, knowing
- 18:58Speaker 1: that there were a couple of judges in D.C. who
- 19:00Speaker 1: have already signed off on this? So it's got to
- 19:02Speaker 1: be bad. Well, they got Judge Boasberg, Boasberg, Boasberg, this guy.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Who's Judge Boasberg?
- 19:09Speaker 3: Oh.
- 19:10Speaker 1: The same federal judge Trump called a radical left lunatic
- 19:13Speaker 1: after he blocked Venezuelan deportation fights. That's right. He's the
- 19:17Speaker 1: guy who tried to have planes turn around in midair
- 19:20Speaker 1: as they were taking gang members illegally in the country
- 19:23Speaker 1: from Venezuela. He tried to override the the president's authority
- 19:27Speaker 1: as commander in chief and as the chief executive of
- 19:30Speaker 1: the executive branch where he can oversee immigration policy. He
- 19:34Speaker 1: was wrong. He was smacked down. Supreme Court spanked him.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Doesn't matter. He's now been assigned to be the judge
- 19:42Speaker 1: to oversee the fight to unseal the FBI search warrant
- 19:45Speaker 1: used in the raid on Representative Ilhan Omar's home. Wow.
- 19:50Speaker 1: How did that happen? It's amazing how the wheels of
- 19:54Speaker 1: justice turn in the District of Columbia, run entirely by Democrats. Well,
- 20:01Speaker 1: that's the latest. We've got more and we'll continue to
- 20:05Speaker 1: give you more. That's the latest out of this New
- 20:07Speaker 1: York Times article. And I'm just happy to tell you
- 20:10Speaker 1: that the New York Times has now put their blessing
- 20:12Speaker 1: on a story that we've been talking about for quite
- 20:14Speaker 1: some time over here. You know, up until now, this
- 20:17Speaker 1: was just right-wing fever swamp, maggot conservative spirit crap that
- 20:22Speaker 1: was all fake news and never real. But now, guys,
- 20:27Speaker 1: the New York Times noticed us. The New York Times,
- 20:31Speaker 1: they've decided that it's news that's fit to print. Back
- 20:40Speaker 1: in time.
