- 0:06SPEAKER_00: What is going on, ballers?
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: It's your boy MJ coming at you with the week two episode of Fantasy Fumble.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: We are so glad to have you guys here today.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: We're very excited.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: Me and Joe are sitting here just talking some fantasy football, but we figured, hey, what the heck?
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: Let's save it for the show.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Uh, Joe, how are you doing today, my brother?
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: I'm doing great, man.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: It was uh an interesting week one, as we all expected.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: Uh, went four and two in my league, so I'm happy about that.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Uh, one and one in the sports minds leagues.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: And um I'm actually very comfortable with all my teams.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: Despite some duds, I'm very comfortable where we where we stand right now.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: And and we're gonna talk about week one.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: You don't want to overreact.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we're gonna definitely get into a lot of good content here.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: Week one has already kicked off for the NFL.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: So we have some stats, we got some metrics.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Uh, so we're gonna jump right into the old routine here, guys.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: We're gonna do our hot matchups, cold calls, and then of course, most importantly, shit calls of the week.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: That's most importantly.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Most importantly, so be without further ado, let's go ahead and get to the news and notes.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: All right, so we got a few running backs that are banged up right now.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: Dylan Sampson was placed on IR, not really a fantasy factor, but uh Isaiah Pacheco, he's gonna be out for three months.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: Again, not really a fantasy factor, but hey, just a little more volume for Jameer Gibbs, I will take it.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: Uh wide receiver Ladd McConkey is considered day-to-day after getting a little bruised up on his ribs.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: And Zay Flowers is day-to-day due to a hamstring injury.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Uh AJ Brown, unfortunately, is expected to miss six weeks due to a high ankle sprain.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: So if you drafted him, hopefully you can make some adjustments, make some trades, do what you gotta do.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: 49ers wide receiver rookie Deshaun Stribling is expected to be out for at least a month, and he actually looked pretty good.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: I mean, the numbers didn't show it, but he was on the field making cuts.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: He looked pretty good until that happened.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Um, quarterback Sam Darnold is probably not gonna play in week two.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: Got a hip injury, and I just heard this today.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: I don't know how much stock to put into this, but I heard that Brock Bowers could return for week two.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: I I doubt that seriously.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: I just had meniscus surgery myself, and I'm like a month out right now, and I'm at like 90%.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm pretty sure they put him on IR though.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: So, like whether he missed a game or two or not, if he's on IR, you know, okay, he's he's out for four weeks.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: I'm not I'm not a hundred percent, but I I I was under the impression he was going to IR.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Um okay.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: See, I I I didn't hear he was on IR, I just heard he was gonna miss a few weeks.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: That wouldn't surprise me with the knee injury, but um yeah, just just when I was looking before um we jumped on and started streaming, I I saw an article that said he could return to action in week two, which was very surprising.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: I mean, if he does, then you know that would be excellent.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: Because if you drafted him, you got him in the third round, and you you need your third round draft pick to play.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but you know, lower your expectations.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: He's probably gonna be on some kind of a snap count if he does play in week two.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: And I and I seriously doubt it, too.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: You know, he he could return.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: Doesn't mean he's gonna play, doesn't mean he will be on the field, but maybe week three or four you can plug him back in your lineup.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: Uh let's get into our hot matchups.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: Who you got for your hot matchup, Manny?
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: You know, it was uh it took me a long time, just kidding.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: The moment I saw the game, I said, that's the game I'm picking for the hot matchup of the week.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Uh, it's gonna be the Lions versus the Bills.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Uh it's Thursday night football, but I think those guys are not rusty.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: From what I saw, both those offenses you know had a really good days.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: So um, and as a matter of fact, the last time those two teams met, they combined for a total of 90 points for that game.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: So if we're gonna get anything close to that, this is gonna be fancy fireworks.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: I'm super excited.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: I actually forgot about that last year.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: It was a it was a barn burner, man.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: They were just going at it.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: I mean, and uh I want to highlight a few players, and specifically, of course, if you had the pleasure of drafting number one overall, hopefully you pick Jameer Gibbs over Bijan, right?
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Although you argument can be made for Bichon, right?
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Had an equally impressive day.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Uh, but Jameer Gibbs, 29 carries, five receptions, a total of 186 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: Like, I mean, that guy just had a coming out party, like if there ever was one, like he's he's gonna be the number one, like how JT was last year, all through the year.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, expect Jameer Gibbs when healthy to do that.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, the stat line that sticks out to me the most, too, isn't necessarily the uh 186 yards, is the fact that he had about 33 touches in that game.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: Um, 33 touches per game, that's elite workhorse territory.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: And anybody over 25 a game is is someone I love to have on my fantasy radar.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: Um, now of course you can't talk about Detroit without talking about the sun god, Amandra St.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: Brown.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: Man, that dude had 10 catches.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was only 67 yards, but he had two touchdowns, and he was coming in clutch every time they needed him.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: And I he had some uh impressive catches.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: He's somebody that I drafted in uh one of my leagues.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: Uh very high on him this year.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: I actually had him as my number two ranked wide receiver overall, behind Jamar Chase, of course, right?
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: And I and I put my money where my mouth is.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: I did draft him in one league on with the fourth overall pick.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: So that's how serious I was about him.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Uh but 14 targets.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, the guy is a focal point on offense.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, he's getting all the looks from Jared Goff.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: I mean, you're gonna get some complimentary work by Jamison, but I mean, it's a Mahan Ross team to give up.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, obviously Sam Laporte is gonna get a little bit of love on this side.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: He had five or uh five catches for 48 yards.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Uh, he did have five targets, so you can expect Sam Laporte to kind of get back into that old usage he we were used to when he broke out.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: Um but, you know, at the end of the day, that's just one side of the ball.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: The other side, of course, you can't talk about a player unless you're talking about Josh Allen.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: I mean, 334 passing yards, uh, two passing touchdowns, and then he had 23 rushing yards on two rushing touchdowns.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: So Josh Allen was just doing what he does best, and he's just Superman.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: Comes out there, just freaking you score, he scores.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: It's crazy how automatic that dude is.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: It is automatic, dude.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I I mean, and of course, you know, uh, one of the things that I'd like to highlight is people pump the brakes on James Cook.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: He's still as advertised, guys, he just had a day where Josh Allen gets all the glory.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: We expect that.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: It's called the Josh Allen Vulture effect.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: So he called the rushing touchdowns that should go to the running back, and they're gonna go to him.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: So don't worry.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: Uh, I mean, James Cook himself had 13 carries for 57 yards, and he had three catches.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: So the guy didn't have 100 yards all on purpose, but he was one touchdown away from having a pretty solid performance.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: Um, so either way, uh DJ Moore, five receptions, a hundred receiving yards, one touchdown, and he looked a hell of a uh primary target for Josh Allen.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: So if you have him on your team, which Joe, I know you do.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: Good job.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: I got him in a few leagues.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: Um I was high on him, yeah.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I I looked at our rankings and I looked at it, I was like, man, I had him as like the 22nd, 23rd overall.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: Were you higher on him than that?
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: I was right around there, probably right around 20.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: But you know, I just love the situation of Josh Allen being his quarterback.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: And you know, I had Josh Allen in my cold call last week just because the previous years against the Texans, he did really poorly, at least compared to what you're expecting.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: And you know, on the flip side of that, James Cook actually looked all right.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: So yeah, they just kind of swapped this game.
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: And I mean, when you're talking about the Lions and you're talking about the Bills, you know there's just gonna be an insane amount of points, regardless of how their defense plays, you know.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: And uh I was uh obviously if you have Josh Allen, you're gonna play him, but I was expecting him to put up like 20, maybe 25, and he just blew the doors off.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: And I I think uh having DJ Moore is gonna be a game changer for him because he used to kind of just spread the ball around and dude, even Dalton Kincaid came to play big time.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: So you've got some real talent on there, and this matchup specifically, I wouldn't be surprised if um you know you're you're getting a combined uh 65-70 points.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: You know, we might not hit what we got last year, but you're gonna get a lot of points for my hot matchup.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: I have the Vikings versus the Bears.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: The over-under is 49 and a half points, and the Bears put up 59 points last week, and they didn't really involve any of their high-level receivers or Colston Loveland.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: So I think they can keep this game very competitive, even against a tough Vikings defense.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: Caleb Williams and DeAndre Swift looked incredible last week, and Manon guy ripped off a huge run and looked pretty good too.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: And despite the lackluster performances from Burden and Loveland, I would probably play both of them this week too, unless you have a better option.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: You know, I'd plug those guys in and start them with confidence.
- 10:38SPEAKER_01: And you know, the Vikings looked pretty good last week, too.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, despite uh Kyler going down early, and I'm not sure if he's playing this week or not, but he went out with a concussion pretty early, and the Bears' defense was non-existent.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: So I think that the Vikings are gonna come out and just start slinging the ball.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: Carson Wentz threw a beautiful touchdown to Justin Jefferson, that was great to see.
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: I expect more of that next week.
- 11:02SPEAKER_01: And the run game wasn't bad either.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: Uh, you had Aaron Jones and Jordan Addison both with touchdowns, and TJ Hawkinson was in the mix and got a touchdown too.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: So I mean, Carson Wentz looks pretty good.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: And if you're going against a Bears defense that just did not take the field last week, I think that combination of Vikings and Bears is gonna be maybe not quite as high as the Lions versus the Bills, but I think it's gonna hit the over for sure.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, definitely.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: It's always fireworks when those two uh divisional rivals go at each other.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Um, I mean, uh as you mentioned, Vikings does have a pretty stiff defense, so that's gonna cause uh Chicago to go in the playbook.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: Uh, but I expect Chicago being the superior offense to really light it up for sure, right?
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Like uh, like you said, all they only used the running backs last week and they didn't even implement their receivers.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: Now, speaking of receivers, there's one uh one tight end that would start over Colson Loveland.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: That's Jawan Johnson.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: Joe knows what I'm talking about.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: I have him in I have him in every league except that one where I'm trying to get him.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: Literally, I have him in five out of six leagues.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: I want him in six out of six leagues.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: That's why I was trying to get him from you.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: Brother, I have him in both of my leagues.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: Oh, you do?
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: Okay, then I have him in four out of six.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, get that number down, you liar.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: Well, maybe, maybe I don't have him in that other league because I got um I know I have Loveland and Trey McBride in both leagues.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: And then you have like Tucker Kraft or something.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: Um uh Mark Andrews.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: Oh Mark Andrews, okay.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, man.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean, he looked all right to Mark Andrews, but I'm I'm much higher on Juwan.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I I mean I I like those offenses is fun.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: Caleb Williams trying to make his MVP statement.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: Um Vikings, you know, whoever scores in the backfield is one thing, but you know, as long as you feel my feed my boy JJ, uh JJ Jefferson, you know, I got him in one of my squads.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: I I I'll ultimately um end up boosting up his value as well.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: He's gonna he's gonna score again this weekend, I'm sure.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna sell high though, so you know, we'll see.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: I don't blame you for that either.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: Um I would probably hold on to him if he's playing well, but I totally understand because you never know with uh with that quarterback situation there.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: It can, as we saw last year, it can change everything.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, keep keep Carson Wentz until he gives you a reason not to.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and then uh hey, maybe little Kyler will be back by then.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we didn't even get to see what Kyler could do.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: So we don't we can't really gauge what's gonna happen if he plays quarterback.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sure.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: Let's get into our cold matchups.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: All right, who you got, Manny?
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: For my cold matchup, I have the Raiders versus the Chargers.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Ooh if if you think if you think our hot matchup was hot, now this is a good way to cool this down right here.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: All right, and here's a here's the exception.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: Ashton Genty.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: 23 carriers, 102 rushing yards, six catches for 45 receiving yards, most importantly, two receiving touchdowns.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: Ashton Genty is matchup proof.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: I mean, you're gonna you're gonna forget the matchup label for that dude.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: He's just automatic.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: 29 touches.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, the guy's workload is insane and expect it to continue.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: Uh, but outside of that, it gets real ugly.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: Kurt Cousins, I don't think anybody's charting him unless you have like a two-quarterback league, right?
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: He hasn't shown me that he needs to be picked up on a team yet, even with two touchdowns.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: Uh it's a shame is he used to be a beast in fantasy too.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: He was, he was, but yeah, I mean he's he's an older quarterback, right?
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: You know, and then you have Justin Herbert who has been crowned the crown prince that just cannot deliver, right?
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: He's in that Mike McDaniels offense.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: You expect him to be like big fireworks, but his star receiver just got hurt, and apparently after he got hurt with the bruised ribs, uh, they just couldn't find a rhythm without him.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: You know, so I'm curious.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they were definitely feeding him the ball.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I'm curious to see how that affects him.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: He I mean, it's a rib injury, it may not even be a fracture, so I'm sure Lad McConkey is probably gonna play, you know, but you know, how how vulnerable is he gonna be, right?
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: Because when you're playing against the Raiders, they're pretty physical defense, so I think they're gonna beat up on him.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: Um these ribs are no joke, man.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know, it hurts to breathe if it's a if it's a bad bruise.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: So running around and jumping, that's it's gotta hurt.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: And taking licks.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: Oh, but another part of that is Marion Hampton.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: He had 12 carries, 43 yards, a touchdown.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: It was pretty decent showing.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: I mean, I expect him to have bigger, bigger and better days.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: I just don't know if this matchup's gonna be one of those days because he was only averaging 3.6 yards per carry this past week.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: So uh I'm I mean, in order for them to really get somewhere, they have to, it starts with Justin Herbert, man.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: He has to get his his crap together and then everybody else will be able to feed off of him.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: Uh, but until they do, I'm I'm kind of staying far away from this matchup, with the exception of uh Genty and of course McConkie, if he does play.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so you you wouldn't play Hampton?
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, absolutely.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: Hampton is sorry, I I I totally miss Hampton.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: Hampton, absolutely.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: He's okay, okay.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: Without a doubt, you're plugging him in.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: He's RB2 all day.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't think that's gonna be uh a regular thing.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: Like you just honestly, like the two running backs and and one right wide receiver, you know, and that's it.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's that's basically where I am too.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: It's um you know, it's tough to say with Ladd uh what he'll be able to do if he's out there, but if he's playing, you should start him.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: Now, what's your cold matchup?
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: For my cold matchup, I have the Steelers versus the Patriots.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: It was tough sledding for the Steelers offense last week.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: And the Patriots defense is pretty good.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: It's the same thing with the Patriots.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: Their offense did not look great last week, and the Steelers defense looked awesome last week.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: So when you saw both of those teams take the field and their offenses were in disarray, but their defenses were locked in, you know, that's a mashup for a low-scoring game.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: Um, Jalen Warren and Rico, they couldn't really do much of anything on the ground, especially Rico.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: And uh it was a struggle through the air, too.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: I mean, DK had 10 targets, but he only turned it into four catches for 40 yards.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: Um, I think Rodgers needs to throw the ball more to Pittman, especially since we made that trade.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: Um but I mean Pittman looked good, you know.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: He had three three targets, three catches for 58 yards.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: That's that's fine.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: Just get him.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: They gotta feed him more.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: They will, they will, they need to.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they need to, but I I think it's gonna be tough on Sunday because you know the Patriots do have a pretty respectable defense.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: They do, they do.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: And after watching, you know, the Steelers' defense on Sunday, I don't think this is gonna be Drake May's bounce back game just yet.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: Like I think he's obviously gonna play much better.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: Uh, I'm I'm still high on Drake May in general, and I'm aware of the sophomore slump we've seen with with players like CJ Stroud and Daniel Daniels, but uh, I'm not worried about Drake just yet.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: I am concerned that AJ's out for six weeks.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: Um, that really sucks, and and that's gonna definitely put a a dent in Drake May's production.
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: Um but that that's the thing, is he needs to get a little bit more acclimated uh with the offense, and I just don't expect this game on Sunday to be easy by any stretch.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be a strong season for him, but Sunday's gonna be tough.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: Ramondre's gonna have a tough time.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: Travion's still banged up.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, they're just there's too many missing pieces for them to be productive against the Steelers, in my opinion.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: So I'm actually staying completely away from that game unless I don't have uh another quarterback.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: A lot of people will draft two quarterbacks.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: Uh most people that drafted Drake May will play him, and I totally understand that.
- 19:47SPEAKER_01: Um, but in a lot of my leagues, I have two quarterbacks, and I might look at the matchup and just see what Drake can do this week before I get 100% all in on this week.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: You know, week three and four, that's a different story.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: And then on the Steelers side, and I actually played Rico in a couple leagues last week, and um he really let me down.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: So I'm I'm putting him on my bench.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't have anyone on the Steelers that I'm putting in my lineup except for Pittman.
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna give Rico the week off.
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: I need him to prove it to me before I plug him back in.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: But I I am gonna play Pittman.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: And if I had Drake May on any teams, and I was gunning for him in every draft and just waited too long because I'm greedy, especially with quarterbacks, and especially with that deep roster of quarterbacks that we had to choose from.
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: I don't have Drake in any leagues, so it's not something I need to worry about, but I'd look at the matchup.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: You lucked out not having Drake because I was fading him all this year.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: You were, I know you were, and I'm I'm so high on him that you know it it gives me pause when you see all these things that that went on in week one.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: Um but just just seeing what he did last year, 5,000 yards and you know, looked really good throughout the entire year.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: I just didn't expect any kind of sophomore slump, but things have changed, and Sunday's gonna be tough.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: So I'm pumping the brakes on him.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: If you do have another quarterback that's got a juicy matchup, just plug him in, you know.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: And and actually, um, to your point, right?
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: This is gonna be a low-scoring matchup.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: I definitely agree.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: Um, the only running back that looked decent back there was actually Jalen Warren.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: He had he was getting all the receiving work.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: Um, but ultimately, yeah, Steelers, man, they need to figure it out.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: Mike McCarthy, brothers, your last stand as a head coach, man.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: He keeps getting head coaching jobs here and there.
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: Every two years he'll get hired again, you know, after getting fired.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: So I mean, I wasn't thrilled I wasn't thrilled about that decision.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: So, you know, it's funny.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: I everyone is sending those memes around, like where the old man is wearing a shirt and he opens a gift and it's the same shirt.
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: You know, that's A lot of those memes are going around like whenever whenever you subbed him in for a Tomlin, it's a little bit of more of the same, kind of what you'd expect, but we'll see.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: It's a long season.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: Oh you smell that it smells like our shit call the week.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: It does.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: It does.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: Oh god, you stink.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: I'll kick this one off and get it over with.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: My shit call of the week was saying that the Bills versus Texans was a cold call.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: I was just looking at the two previous seasons and putting way too much weight into that.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: Because obviously, if you again, if you have Josh Allen, you play him.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: I was never saying don't play him.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: Same thing with James Cook, who actually had a pretty good game the last two years, the two previous years.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: I wasn't saying bench those guys at all, but I was saying it's gonna be a low-scoring game just because the previous year was 23 to 19 and then 23 to 20, and the Texans won both.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: So I thought it was just gonna be tough sledding, but Josh Allen just, you know, completely shit in my serial and said, What are you talking about?
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: Did you forget who I was?
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: And you know, even though James Cook wasn't, you know, upwards of 20 points, he still had a respectable day where you you don't feel bad about playing them.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: And as we were talking about DJ Moore, man, he looked incredible.
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: So they looked awesome, and then the Texans looked pretty solid too.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, there was just a lot of points between the two teams, and I expected it to be around a 40-point game.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: So that was my shit call.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: And it was shitty indeed.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: It was, it sure was.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: Now we talked about the good ones.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: Now it's time to own the bad ones.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: Of course.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: All right, so for my shit call of the week, it's uh my shit call is gonna be 51.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: That's how many points I left on the fantasy bench by benching two players exactly.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: Uh Debo Samuel and Chubba Hubba.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: I was surprised.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: I was surprised.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: I was surprised you didn't put Chuba in your lineup.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: I noticed that.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, I I was I overthought it.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: I I had a feeling that I was like, wait, Jonathan, let's see what Jonathan Brooks does to his carried totals before I was ready to commit.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: And uh from watching that game, it made me realize that Chaba is still that dude.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: They still love him, and he's gonna get all the receiving work out of the backfield, which is gonna be in the red zone most of the time.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: So um that and Debo, I I mean, he stepped right back into vintage Debo, right?
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: He's he's coming in, he's taking rushes.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: He took one rush for like 12 yards.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: He came in with like four receptions.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: Uh, he didn't have a lot, I think 48 receiving yards.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: Uh one touchdown, though.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: That was a beautiful touchdown, though.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: And he got open, and it kind of shows you that, hey, with the Niners want to throw it, they're gonna be able to throw it with Mike Evans and Debo.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: Uh, even with Deshaun Schreiberly now, you know, you're still gonna see a productive Niners wide receiver core.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: Um, so I'm pretty I drafted Debo in all my leagues.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: I I loved his his his sleeper ability.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: You've always been high on Debo, and and I I wasn't high on him last year, um, but in previous years I was very high on him too.
- 25:37SPEAKER_01: But I don't blame you for benching him because we just weren't sure.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: You know, we hadn't seen that Debo in a while.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: So I totally get that.
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: Even though Chuba surprised me a little bit, I understand why you benched Debo.
- 25:49SPEAKER_01: I even had Mike Evans on my bench in one league.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: Um, and I played Luther Burden over him.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's just you know, that's the game we play every week.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, but uh uh shout out to uh Chuba.
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: Uh he ended up with uh 49 rushing yards, starting eight receiving yards and two touchdowns.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: So, I mean that was pretty awesome.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that was a nice game.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: Ballers, it's a time that we hate.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: It's time for us to go.
