Latest / Brandon Fogal Evolution / #245 - Does God Give Israel the Land? The Biblical Debate with Huckabee & Tucker Carlson
Transcript
- 0:00Does Israel have a right to the land of Israel or not? That is the question.
- 0:06Mike Huckabee and Tucker Carlson got deeply entrenched in this whole debate.
- 0:12Tucker Carlson wanted to discuss this with Mike Huckabee, and he actually went
- 0:17over to Israel to discuss this with our ambassador over there.
- 0:21And it got very heated at times. And I just want to remove all the bull because
- 0:26a lot of people, when we get into this, it gets very just nuanced, very just in the weeds.
- 0:33And I wanted to kind of just take maybe a little bird's eye view, step back a little bit.
- 0:38Does Israel have a right to that
- 0:40land or not? And do other nations have a specific right to their own land?
- 0:44And where the hinge is, is specifically, is it a biblical right?
- 0:49We're going to take a look at a couple of different clips.
- 0:52And this is when Tucker brings back, he pushes back on Mike Huckabee.
- 0:56Well, does Ireland have a right to their land? Does England have a right to their land?
- 1:01And he starts throwing these examples and let's see what Mike Huckabee says.
- 1:05Do they have a moral right to that as their homeland?
- 1:09And I think they would probably say, yes we do because we have ancient history to it.
- 1:14What do you think? I've never thought about whether Now that I'm raising the
- 1:16question and you've spent a lot of time thinking about the right of the Jewish
- 1:19people to their homeland, Do the Irish have the same right to a homeland?
- 1:22As long as they can defend it.
- 1:23And as long as they, you know. As long as they can defend it.
- 1:26But Tucker, here's the point. Wait a second. Wait a second.
- 1:28Wait, hold on, hold on, hold on. Now you just flipped category.
- 1:30You're the minister here.
- 1:31Yeah, and I'm telling you. As long as they can defend it. And if they can't
- 1:34defend it, they lose the right.
- 1:35You're not allowing me to tell you that I think that what is very,
- 1:38very special here is that there is a biblical as well as an ethnic.
- 1:42And a historical. So you can take any one, but if you add them all together,
- 1:47biblical, historical, and ethnic, you have a very strong case that the Jewish
- 1:52people are living in a land that is indigenous to them, that has been their
- 1:56historic homeland for 3,800 years.
- 1:58You can repeat it as obviously he's a politician.
- 2:01So Mike Huckabee is saying the things. And when I really stepped back and thought
- 2:04about this, what Mike Huckabee is saying, because he brings up,
- 2:07does Israel have a right to exist?
- 2:09And because they got into the whole, well, who are Jews? And do they have claim on this land.
- 2:13And I know he's given those answers. And that's the answers that Israel has
- 2:17tested, knows what's going to work, what's not, as well as just our politicians.
- 2:22They know what's going to work, what's going to not, to the mass audiences.
- 2:25I don't care about the mass audiences.
- 2:26I want to get to the heart of the matter. And what really matters at all is,
- 2:31is it a biblical right or not?
- 2:34I think it is a biblical right that Israel has to that land.
- 2:38I do think that that is the case.
- 2:40And the other nations don't. And it's not like that, because I hear all the
- 2:44time Nick Fuentes is saying that people that are Zionist, they are,
- 2:47they are, they worship Israel.
- 2:49I don't worship Israel at all. I worship the King of Israel,
- 2:52who is Jesus, but I don't worship Israel.
- 2:56But I do recognize that they do have a specific promise, a deed that God gave to them.
- 3:01If we're going to take any of the promises that God gives to us in the Bible
- 3:05and the words that he says, like, if we're going to take it as gospel,
- 3:09as truth, that God can't go back on it, he can't renege on things that he said.
- 3:15Like, if we're going to say that God says that if you put your trust in Jesus
- 3:19and your sins are forgiven, you'll
- 3:21go to heaven and you'll be with him forever. We take that as gospel.
- 3:24But when he makes a promise to Israel, we kind of, we do some mental gymnastics
- 3:29to kind of rethink about like, no, he couldn't really mean that.
- 3:32Either what God says is real or it's not. That's where I'm, that's where I'm
- 3:36at. Let me know if you think different.
- 3:38This next clip is probably the one that got the most traction because it got into the whole does...
- 3:45Well, okay, say there is Israel, the people there are that specific people.
- 3:51And how far does this reach? How much land did God give them?
- 3:56And what Mike Huckby said is probably what a lot of people are thinking,
- 4:01but he just outright said it.
- 4:03Ask, what land are you talking about? Because I just read Genesis 15, as I have many times.
- 4:08And that land, I think it says, from the Nile to the Euphrates,
- 4:12which is, once again, basically the entire Middle East.
- 4:16So God gave that land to his people, the Jews, or he didn't. You're saying he did.
- 4:21What does that mean? Does Israel have the right to that land?
- 4:26Because you're appealing to Genesis.
- 4:27You're saying that's the original deed. It would be fine if they took it all.
- 4:32But I don't think that's what we're talking about here today.
- 4:35He said it. And is he being just tongue in cheek?
- 4:39But I mean, Tucker knows he plays this game of being stupid, which he's not.
- 4:44He's very smart, but he knows how to interview. He knows how to play dumb so
- 4:48he can get, draw the most out of people.
- 4:50He's very good at that. So him, he knows what Tucker, he knows what Mike is hinting at.
- 4:55He knows what everybody in the back of the mind, it brings me to the thing about like predestination.
- 4:59When people talk about predestination, we always say, well, what do you mean by predestination?
- 5:03When we all know what people mean by it, they just don't outright flat out say it.
- 5:09This is the same thing. Tucker knows what he's hinted at. Fine.
- 5:12Well, it's exactly what we're talking about today.
- 5:13But here's what I don't think you're... You think it would be fine if the state
- 5:16of Israel took over all of Jordan? They don't want to take it over.
- 5:18They're not... Mike Huckabee got back into the... Right after that,
- 5:22it felt like Mike Huckabee thought he might have got himself into some hot water, which he has,
- 5:28and there has been ramifications from what he said, because all the other Islamic
- 5:33countries surrounding Israel right now are obviously pushing back because they're
- 5:38like, what you just said that they have a right to all of our land?
- 5:43The whole, well, how far does it extend, you know, of the land that God promised
- 5:48to Israel back in Genesis and all that? How far does it reach?
- 5:53Really, that to me is not as big of a concern because I think the hinge is, did he promise it or not?
- 6:02And I think he did. I'm actually pretty 100% certain he did.
- 6:09And I think that people that you can go the Nick Fuentes route and just say,
- 6:14well, all of that stuff is done away with.
- 6:16And he brings up, and he speaks of Yahweh, the God of Israel,
- 6:20the Hebrew God, like almost it's a separate thing.
- 6:23Like God was that way then and Jesus came and he's completely different now,
- 6:27which if there's any consistency in God, he has to be the same being.
- 6:33He doesn't change. So how does he, like, he becomes a completely new avatar
- 6:38in the New Testament, a new thing?
- 6:41That doesn't make sense. It doesn't line up.
- 6:44You can, like, have that little cognitive dissonance moment and then just shuffle
- 6:49it away and say, like, no, So the God of Israel, he worked with the Jews.
- 6:54He made all these lying promises to them.
- 6:57And then when Jesus came, who is the king of the Jews, who is the king of Israel,
- 7:02that he forgets all of that. And he just goes a completely different route.
- 7:07It's the same God, and the same God doesn't lie.
- 7:12The same God, if he promises something, it stands firm.
- 7:16It doesn't go backwards. It doesn't revert. It doesn't backtrack.
- 7:22God doesn't need to backtrack. And when he says something, it's done. So...
- 7:28I do think there are more like types and anti-types that fulfill these things,
- 7:33but it doesn't negate what he said to them and what he promised Abraham,
- 7:39what he gave to them and his descendants.
- 7:42And it didn't become like there was Jews in the Old Testament and all the way
- 7:47up until we get to the New Testament.
- 7:49When we get into the New Testament, the apostle Paul makes it clear,
- 7:52his one house rule for all the churches, and a lot of people don't recognize
- 7:57this, But in the New Testament, in the Corinthians,
- 7:59he says, my house rule is that Jews remain Jews, Gentiles remain Gentiles.
- 8:05That means there is, there's still a distinction.
- 8:08We're not all homogenized. It's not like when you trust in Jesus,
- 8:12if you're a female, that you somehow become a new, a male.
- 8:16And if you're a male, you become a greater male.
- 8:18We're all just one thing now. We're not absorbed into one thing.
- 8:22There's still distinctions. There's still distinctions.
- 8:25And this whole, like with, with Israel, I know this can rub people the wrong
- 8:29way because I know this isn't the, the popular opinion.
- 8:33I don't care about the popular opinion. I really don't because I care about
- 8:37God's opinion, what God says.
- 8:39And I'm not going to just run with the crowd and just because,
- 8:43and be a, what's that word? A grifter.
- 8:45I'm not going to be a grifter that just, everybody hates Israel. Now I got to hate Israel.
- 8:50Everybody wants to try to just discount Jews, make them nothing,
- 8:53go along with this like a popular opinion and just say and try to remove their basic rights.
- 8:59Because it's not like the things that there is a difference between what we
- 9:05in the United States have to our land, as opposed to Israel has to their land.
- 9:09I'm all I'm all for America.
- 9:12But when you get into like divine covenants and divine promises.
- 9:17God didn't promise England that land or that people that land.
- 9:21He promised Israel and gave to Israel that specific land.
- 9:27And Mike Huckabee, he's just working it out, saying the...
- 9:31The inevitable conclusion of what we would all get to that if God promised from
- 9:38the Nile to the Euphrates and now all the whole landmass and how far that goes,
- 9:42I haven't dove into that specifically.
- 9:44I don't know exactly from here to here. And really, it doesn't matter.
- 9:49It's really, it was just a promise that they would have peace,
- 9:52specific as the natural descendants, the covenant community of God,
- 9:56that he would give them peace and rest in a land.
- 9:59And it does signify a greater rest that all people who trust in God will have,
- 10:05who trust in God through Jesus Christ will have, that we will have an eternal rest.
- 10:11This land, this earth is going to pass away. But it doesn't change the fact
- 10:16that we're still in the here and now and what God promised to them still abides.
- 10:21And we see that throughout in the Old Testament, God said, if you're disobedient,
- 10:25I'm going to kick you out of the land, which they were the ultimate disobedient.
- 10:29When they rejected their Messiah, they rejected him. They crucified him.
- 10:35And then God scattered them. God sent them throughout the entire world,
- 10:39but it says that he would bring them all back, which he is doing,
- 10:43and anyone that is opposing that, you are going against God.
- 10:46You are pushing against God.
- 10:48God will have the ultimate upper hand, and he's going to continue to work,
- 10:54and he's bringing his people back, but I wouldn't fight against God.
- 10:58It might be popular to say the things that go against God now,
- 11:02but really it's maybe not the best thing to do for your own personal soul and
- 11:07your personal well-being to be pushing against what God promised and said.
- 11:12And I know this isn't popular.
- 11:14I obviously know that. And I don't care. Jesus said, woe to you when everybody speaks well of you.
- 11:19And when we get back to it, I'm not saying the things that just Israel loves.
- 11:23So everybody that says, oh, he's going for a $7,000 check. I wouldn't even know
- 11:27how to get a $7,000 check.
- 11:28And I don't care about that. And I'm not going to say the things that Israel
- 11:31just, because they want you to say everything for them.
- 11:34I'm going to be open and clear with what I believe.
- 11:37This is what I believe. And they're obviously not going to like the things that
- 11:41when I say, when I'm not touting the party line, not being completely diplomatic
- 11:47and being political like Mike Huckabee.
- 11:50He's saying the very nuanced, careful lines that.
- 11:56And I don't think he's not a puppet of Israel, definitely not,
- 11:59but he believes in, he stands for, and I don't even myself agree with everything
- 12:03that Mike Huckabee believes.
- 12:05I'm probably even more extreme in certain degrees and different,
- 12:09different in the ways that I don't align with a lot of Christians.
- 12:15I think that when we try to remove these things and we try to make Jesus more
- 12:21palatable and more of our age, we're actually diminishing and discrediting Jesus.
- 12:25When we say that Jesus came away, he fulfilled the law, and that means he did away with all of it.
- 12:30We're actually creating a false Jesus when we say that.
- 12:36Jesus came, fulfilled the law. Jesus was a Torah-observant Jew.
- 12:40Paul was a Torah-observant Jew.
- 12:43Peter was a Torah-observant Jew.
- 12:47They cared about the law, upholding the law. The whole question was,
- 12:51do Gentiles need to become Jewish?
- 12:53That was the question that they fought against in the New Testament.
- 12:56That was the issue at hand. That was the struggle. And that was why they had
- 13:00to have a convening council in Acts 15 to iron some things out.
- 13:06But they upheld the law. And that's where I kind of disagree with a lot of Christians
- 13:12in saying that the law has been done away with.
- 13:14It hasn't. But it applies differently to Jews and Gentiles. It's not across the board.
- 13:20All right, so this isn't the biggest issue of everything.
- 13:24I want to get down to it. It's Jesus is the bottom line.
- 13:28So that's going to kind of take off Jews today because they're not embracing him.
- 13:33But that's the truth. Gentiles, we have Christ right now. They have the law.
- 13:38And there's this barrier that people are putting up again that the apostles
- 13:43and Jesus tore down. and we're resurrecting them with our own false interpretations
- 13:49of the word of God. So we'll leave it at that.
