- 0:00Speaker 1: OK, did you guys see the story that this business owner,
- 0:04Speaker 1: he fired his employee for missing work. And then when
- 0:07Speaker 1: the employee went to go tell his mom, his mom
- 0:09Speaker 1: called his boss to argue his case on why he
- 0:12Speaker 1: should have never been fired.
- 0:13Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Yeah, but no, the son was kind of like, no,
- 0:20Speaker 1: like this is a complete lack of boundaries, like completely overstepped.
- 0:25Speaker 1: And it kind of reminded me of the new Carrie
- 0:27Speaker 1: series that's out on Prime. Because one of the big
- 0:29Speaker 1: storylines is how her mom continuously goes to her school
- 0:33Speaker 1: to try to handle her problems.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Okay, real quick.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Do we know what the actual reason was that he
- 0:37Speaker 4: got or he wasn't at work?
- 0:38Speaker 1: He just kept missing. He kept calling out.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Is he a child? Yeah, he's a loser, but still.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Is he like 16, 17, 18?
- 0:45Speaker 1: He's an adult, he's like 25 years old.
- 0:49Speaker 3: At that point, mom should probably let go a little bit.
- 0:52Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 0:52Speaker 2: You need to make him pay for an apartment. He's
- 0:54Speaker 2: probably living at home.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 0:55Speaker 2: So he doesn't need to work to pay for rent.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Exactly. And they're not friends. Mom's not friends with.
- 0:59Speaker 1: The other one. conference with the owner literally just was
- 1:02Speaker 1: in her feelings that her son got let off from
- 1:05Speaker 1: her job and it just made me think like sometimes
- 1:07Speaker 1: pairs they do too much they they overstep and they
- 1:10Speaker 1: probably do something a little bit out of pocket that
- 1:13Speaker 1: was not necessary like they.
- 1:14Speaker 6: Cross over boundaries yes or have none all right okay
- 1:19Speaker 6: so what did your parents do for you and they
- 1:23Speaker 6: meant well right they meant well but they were you
- 1:26Speaker 6: were way too old you're an adult you can handle
- 1:28Speaker 6: it yeah yeah okay kind of like my wife going
- 1:31Speaker 6: all the way taking my son to the emergency room
- 1:32Speaker 6: when he's 20 years old I think that's okay I.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Think that's I don't think that's a cross boundary I'm
- 1:36Speaker 4: just trying to understand I'm just trying to understand it
- 1:38Speaker 4: would kind of be like.
- 1:40Speaker 2: It would be like your mom doing your paper route
- 1:42Speaker 2: for you hey I was 16 okay yeah that's a
- 1:46Speaker 2: little different I was 16 what were you doing when
- 1:48Speaker 2: she was doing the paper route.
- 1:49Speaker 3: I was sitting in the car Madeline good morning Good morning.
- 1:54Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:54Speaker 3: What happened to you? What'd your parents do?
- 1:56Speaker 5: It's my mom.
- 1:58Speaker 7: I am 33 years old. I am married. And my
- 2:02Speaker 7: mom currently hired some woman off of Facebook to flirt
- 2:07Speaker 7: with my husband to see if he would cheat.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Whoa. And did he?
- 2:14Speaker 7: No, he did not. I do not need that protection.
- 2:18Speaker 7: She showed up at his gym. This lady shows up
- 2:20Speaker 7: at his gym. She starts hitting on him. He rejects her.
- 2:25Speaker 7: And so she told my mother that my husband was
- 2:29Speaker 7: probably gay. My mother freaks out. She has a total meltdown.
- 2:36Speaker 7: She called me and she's crying because she thinks my
- 2:39Speaker 7: husband is secretly gay.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Does she not like your husband or she's just like,
- 2:44Speaker 4: like why is she so worried about.
- 2:45Speaker 3: You with him?
- 2:48Speaker 7: I don't even know.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Not only did she go and hire someone to hit
- 2:52Speaker 1: on your husband, but when he didn't bite, it wasn't like, oh,
- 2:56Speaker 1: he's being loyal to my daughter.
- 2:57Speaker 3: It was, oh, he's gay. I'm surprised she didn't go
- 2:59Speaker 3: hire a dude then.
- 3:00Speaker 2: It gets worse, though.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Oh, it does? Okay.
- 3:06Speaker 7: The woman she hired sent me the invoice because my
- 3:10Speaker 7: mom ghosted her on Facebook and didn't pay her.
- 3:14Speaker 3: How much did she charge her?
- 3:17Speaker 7: It was 250.
- 3:18Speaker 3: You know what? You know what?
- 3:20Speaker 6: There's a show I'm watching right now. It's called War
- 3:23Speaker 6: on HBO. There's two episodes out. And this exact scenario
- 3:27Speaker 6: is being played out on this show. But the guy
- 3:30Speaker 6: slept with the girl. A woman thought her husband would
- 3:32Speaker 6: be cheating, so she hired her friend. And if she's
- 3:36Speaker 6: paid and she sleeps with him, your mom could have
- 3:40Speaker 6: been charged with prostitution because your mom paid this woman
- 3:46Speaker 6: to sleep with him. If he would have slept with her,
- 3:49Speaker 6: your mom could be go to jail.
- 3:51Speaker 5: But she didn't actually pay her.
- 3:52Speaker 3: No, I know.
- 3:55Speaker 6: That's what's actually happening right now in episode two of
- 3:58Speaker 6: war right now.
- 4:00Speaker 3: So I'm not.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:01Speaker 3: So anyway, your husband didn't take the pain. Yeah, that's right.
- 4:05Speaker 3: You got a good guy there, Madeline. Thanks for sharing
- 4:07Speaker 3: that story with us.
- 4:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Thank you very much.
- 4:11Speaker 1: 877-937-1047.
- 4:11Speaker 6: We want to get to, what did your parents do
- 4:14Speaker 6: for you? But they were way too old, way too old.
- 4:16Speaker 6: And they cross all kinds of boundaries.
- 4:19Speaker 3: We'll get into it next. It's John Jean Rich.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I know.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Squabble up. Squabble up. Squabble up.
- 4:28Speaker 6: Peyton was talking about the TV show Carrie. And on
- 4:31Speaker 6: this show, Carrie, the mom oversteps her boundary, goes to
- 4:34Speaker 6: the school.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:35Speaker 1: And basically, I mean, it's never good when your mom
- 4:37Speaker 1: pulls up to school because now even more eyes were
- 4:40Speaker 1: on Carrie. And you know the story of Carrie.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Things went bad.
- 4:43Speaker 5: Right.
- 4:43Speaker 6: And then you said there's a story about a guy
- 4:45Speaker 6: who got fired at work for not showing up.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Just calling out. An adult.
- 4:49Speaker 6: And the mom was calling the boss and trying to say,
- 4:52Speaker 6: why did you fire my son?
- 4:53Speaker 3: Basically pleaded to.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Him like, no, you shouldn't have fired him. This is
- 4:57Speaker 1: why he's so great.
- 4:58Speaker 6: So we want to know, what did your parents do
- 4:59Speaker 6: for you that you were way too old for? You're
- 5:02Speaker 6: a grown-ass person, but your parents still stepped in.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Sammy, what happened to you?
- 5:07Speaker 5: My mom has never gotten over the fact that I
- 5:10Speaker 5: didn't go to prom. I also just didn't care. I
- 5:13Speaker 5: didn't care that I didn't go to prom. But so
- 5:15Speaker 5: it's my 30th birthday party, and she told me she
- 5:19Speaker 5: was throwing me a surprise birthday. And she's rented out
- 5:22Speaker 5: an entire ballroom. Um, she's like hired a DJ. She
- 5:28Speaker 5: bought me or corsage and she invited people that I
- 5:32Speaker 5: haven't seen since high school. Um, she's like a Facebook fiend.
- 5:37Speaker 5: So she like stalked and like found the guy I
- 5:41Speaker 5: had a crush on in 2014, who like, by the way,
- 5:44Speaker 5: didn't know that I had a crush on him and
- 5:47Speaker 5: asked him to be my prom date.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Shut up.
- 5:50Speaker 5: And he brought his wife. And so I was like,
- 5:54Speaker 5: it was, I mean, my mom made like made us
- 5:55Speaker 5: take pictures together. I was just like, I have two children.
- 5:58Speaker 5: I am too old for this.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Wow.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Do you regret not going to prom yourself?
- 6:04Speaker 5: No, I've never thought about it.
- 6:07Speaker 6: Cause I've heard that. I've heard that, that if you
- 6:10Speaker 6: don't go to your prom, you regret it. But I
- 6:12Speaker 6: kind of don't agree with it, even though I went
- 6:15Speaker 6: to my prom.
- 6:15Speaker 3: So I don't know. So you don't regret it at all.
- 6:18Speaker 5: Not at all. I was like, Mom, it sounds like
- 6:20Speaker 5: you have some prom trauma.
- 6:22Speaker 4: That you have.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Prom trauma?
- 6:23Speaker 7: Probably.
- 6:24Speaker 2: How was your 30-year-old birthday prom? Was that fun, other
- 6:27Speaker 2: than your married date?
- 6:29Speaker 5: I mean, it was like, it was like, it was
- 6:30Speaker 5: like a throwback vibe that I think people were having fun.
- 6:33Speaker 5: So I was like starting to settle in, but I
- 6:35Speaker 5: was just like at the, I was like, oh my God,
- 6:37Speaker 5: this is like a step and repeat. I was like,
- 6:39Speaker 5: I can't believe this is happening.
- 6:41Speaker 3: You know, let me ask you this. Let me shift
- 6:42Speaker 3: gears for a second. Is there anything in here?
- 6:44Speaker 6: Anybody regrets? Cause I currently regret something. I don't, it's
- 6:47Speaker 6: not the prom thing, but something very similar that I regret.
- 6:50Speaker 6: And I'll tell you what it is. My high school
- 6:52Speaker 6: reunion was three weeks ago and I didn't go and
- 6:56Speaker 6: I didn't think I'd care because, And then I saw
- 6:58Speaker 6: pictures and I saw like five of my friends that
- 7:01Speaker 6: I always hung out with. And they sent me the
- 7:04Speaker 6: pictures and I was so bummed I wasn't there.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Really?
- 7:07Speaker 3: Yeah, it was really weird. You had FOMO? Is that FOMO?
- 7:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:10Speaker 3: FOMO is like fear of missing out when it's happening, right?
- 7:12Speaker 3: But it can also be post FOMO. Yeah, it can
- 7:14Speaker 3: also be afterwards.
- 7:16Speaker 6: It's kind of weird because I grew up here, but
- 7:18Speaker 6: I graduated from high school in San Diego, right? Now,
- 7:22Speaker 6: my high school reunion here is in two weeks, and
- 7:26Speaker 6: I'm going to go to that. But it's not the
- 7:27Speaker 6: same as the high school I actually graduated from. Does
- 7:30Speaker 6: that make sense to you guys?
- 7:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. union that you go to is the
- 7:33Speaker 1: school that you graduate from.
- 7:35Speaker 6: Right but i grew up here i grew up here
- 7:37Speaker 6: and then i left before i graduated high school but
- 7:39Speaker 6: all my friends so i still get included so i'm
- 7:42Speaker 6: gonna go to this graduation everybody at this graduation i'm
- 7:44Speaker 6: going to i know them all they're great whatever i
- 7:47Speaker 6: see them all the time the people that i the
- 7:49Speaker 6: actual graduation what i missed and i can't i can't
- 7:51Speaker 6: i have a regret that i missed it and i
- 7:53Speaker 6: don't i think i have very few regrets yeah right
- 7:57Speaker 6: so do you guys have any I have.
- 7:59Speaker 3: A lot of regrets in life. I just saw this article.
- 8:04Speaker 3: I'm going to try to find it of the people's
- 8:06Speaker 3: biggest regrets.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Is it just specifically from school days?
- 8:10Speaker 3: No, from anything. Oh, anything.
- 8:12Speaker 5: Okay.
- 8:12Speaker 6: Probably, Peyton, it was that outfit you wore the other day.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 8:15Speaker 1: No, actually- Uh, I shop ugly and make a cute,
- 8:18Speaker 1: so stop hating.
- 8:19Speaker 3: You too.
- 8:20Speaker 1: For me, it would probably be like, I regret a
- 8:24Speaker 1: lot of my dating history when I was living in Portland, Oregon,
- 8:26Speaker 1: because my now husband knows a lot of the people
- 8:29Speaker 1: that I was kind of like hanging out with.
- 8:31Speaker 2: And I hate that he knows that about me. You know,
- 8:34Speaker 2: like it keeps me up at night sometimes.
- 8:36Speaker 3: That's hilarious.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Sometimes I regret dating girls because y'all are toxic. Whoa.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Whoa.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 8:42Speaker 3: That's good. These are good. Those are good.
- 8:44Speaker 2: It's true. I have a big one that you probably remember.
- 8:48Speaker 2: It was my kids were acting up and I'm like,
- 8:51Speaker 2: you guys got to straighten up or we're not going
- 8:52Speaker 2: to Disneyland.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Oh, that was brutal, dude.
- 8:55Speaker 2: You didn't let him go? I was like, you can't
- 8:58Speaker 2: just not make.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Empty threats. You can't make empty threats as a parent.
- 9:02Speaker 2: And I'm like, keep it up. We're not going to Disneyland.
- 9:05Speaker 2: And they kept it up. And I'm like, not going
- 9:07Speaker 2: to Disneyland. And we did not go to Disneyland. I
- 9:10Speaker 2: followed through. How did you follow through on that?
- 9:12Speaker 1: But honestly, though, but valid, though, because I bet you
- 9:15Speaker 1: they never acted.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Up again when it was time to go to Disney. No,
- 9:17Speaker 2: you know, they never had any timeouts or anything after that, actually.
- 9:20Speaker 3: They don't even talk to him anymore.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Oh, come on. That would have been a fun weekend, actually.
- 9:25Speaker 2: That would have been a really fun weekend, and we
- 9:27Speaker 2: didn't do it.
- 9:27Speaker 6: I found the article. It says, a poll asked, what
- 9:29Speaker 6: is your biggest regret in life? And people said health, friendships. children,
- 9:36Speaker 6: whether that means having or not having, education, money, family relationships,
- 9:40Speaker 6: career or work. 15% of people said their biggest regret
- 9:44Speaker 6: is related to romantic relationships. 22% of people said, I
- 9:46Speaker 6: don't have any big regrets, which is a good thing.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I would say more or less, yes, that one.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Because for the most part, the things that you would regret,
- 9:56Speaker 2: they led to something better.
- 9:57Speaker 3: You know what I regretted?
- 9:59Speaker 4: And it has affected how I am is in middle school,
- 10:04Speaker 4: there was like the fair was in town and my siblings,
- 10:07Speaker 4: everyone was going on the Gravitron. The Gravitron, it looks
- 10:10Speaker 4: like spaceship and it spins you around and you.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Stick to the wall. Oh, I hate that.
- 10:13Speaker 4: I got on the ride and I chickened out before
- 10:15Speaker 4: the ride even started. I literally made them stop. I
- 10:17Speaker 4: unbuckled myself. I got off and I waited for my
- 10:20Speaker 4: siblings to get off. When they got off, they were like,
- 10:22Speaker 4: that was the most fun ride in the planet.
- 10:25Speaker 5: We want to go get it.
- 10:26Speaker 3: And I was like, oh my gosh.
- 10:28Speaker 4: And then we didn't get to go on it again.
- 10:30Speaker 4: And so ever since then, I'm like, I got to
- 10:32Speaker 4: try every ride. I got to do the ride because
- 10:34Speaker 4: I'll regret not trying it because everyone said it was
- 10:36Speaker 4: so fun.
- 10:37Speaker 1: That ride was trippy because how did it... Stick us
- 10:39Speaker 1: to the wall.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Well, you'll be funny now. Now your mom's listening and
- 10:42Speaker 3: your mom sets it up.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:44Speaker 3: We can probably make that happen for you at the
- 10:46Speaker 3: state fair. We can get the Gravitron. We can get
- 10:48Speaker 3: all your siblings together.
- 10:50Speaker 4: I've ridden the Gravitron since.
- 10:52Speaker 6: We can wear tuxedos and get corsages like Sammy's thing.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Let's have your mom set it up. Let's go.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Hey, Sammy, thanks for calling in. Thank you very much.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Thanks, guys.
