- 0:00SPEAKER_00: And I want to start off with a a question.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: If Jesus came to give us life and succeeded, and I guess most of us would agree that he did, then what is that life, really?
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: And then maybe most of us would say something along the lines of it's you know, it's God in us, the Holy Spirit in us.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: We see in the Bible in Acts chapter 2, we see the releasing of the Holy Spirit upon all flesh.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: And uh it looks like that's where it happened.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Um a question I have is why didn't God, the Father, why didn't, if he wanted to impart life to us, why didn't he go straight to Acts chapter 2?
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Why didn't he just say, you know what?
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: I love these humans.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: They're all a mess, but I really love them, and I'm gonna change things, and I'm gonna put my life in them.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna put my heart in them, I'm gonna put my spirit in them.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: I've decided to do that, so here I go.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: On this day of Pentecost, it's going to happen.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Why didn't he just go straight to that?
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Why the whole Jesus thing?
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: And then maybe some of us would say in our, in our in our minds, we think, well, um, there needed to be a forgiveness of sin and the shedding of blood.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: And we know that was a part of what Jesus did.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: But I want to highlight another part as we get into this today.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: And something that I don't hear in most of the circles that I've traveled in and I have grown as a Christian and been a Christian in, I haven't heard a whole lot of highlight about uh about the the incarnation of Jesus and what that really does mean to us, and it means something very important to us even to this day.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Because the Bible says that in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: That that's the logo, so the divine expression, the expression of God.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: And I think a lot of times uh we are in our minds we think of the Jesus that we see with the beard and the sandals and all that.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: We think of the Jesus being the eternal expression that always was.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: But but Jesus, the person, the man, the human, didn't come until that day he was born of a virgin.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: Now, God was with him, the word, the expression, that word became flesh, right?
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: So that word, that eternal God, word, expression of God, it he literally became flesh.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: And if he becomes flesh, then what happens is that he becomes human.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: And I want to get into that today.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: So, but first I want to I want to look at this this life thing that we're talking about, and he came to uh to bring life to us, and the incarnation is very, very important to us in that.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: So some of us might know that there are three main uh Greek words that are uh translated as life in the New Testament, and one of them is bios, B-I-O-S, and we get the you can see the word biology from that, right?
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: It essentially means physical vitality, is what we would we would call our body, essentially.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: But anything alive has this physical uh vitality.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Humans have it, birds and bees have it, flowers have it.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Uh, if something is alive, it's it's got a physical uh life to it.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: Bios.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: That's a bios life.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: Then another one that's used is suke, and you can see the word psyche in that.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: In fact, that's how we would pronounce it uh in English, and it's our non-physical essence, and it includes our consciousness, our identity, our emotions.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Some would say our soul, uh, our mind, our, you know, our our inner life.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: It's the in maybe the invisible part of us, but it is, it is, it, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, a, it's, it's a part of our essence as a living being.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: And then we have this other thing that's pronounced Zoe, and I it and it's been a definition that I've heard a long, long time ago, and it still holds.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: It's essentially the God kind of life.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: It's divine life, and it's interpreted in the Bible usually as eternal life or everlasting life.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: It's a different kind of life.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: And eternal life is not just um having to do with time, that it lasts forever, or it lasts a long time, but it's also a quality of life because it's divine.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: And Jesus said, I came that you would have this.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: And I'm hoping as we look at this that we can see it, maybe, maybe see a depth to it that that inspires and reveals something uh uh to us.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna go to Genesis 6, chapter three, uh, chapter 6, verse 3, before I want to start out.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: And this is where God uh says something about his plan for mankind.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: And the Lord said that my spirit shall not always strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh, yet his days shall be a hundred and and twenty years.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: First point here is he says, I'm gonna do something about this.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: This there won't always be this contention here.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: There won't always be this big difference thing going on here.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: My spirit will not always be contrary.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: I'm going to do something about that.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: And he says, And though man is flesh, and he says this back in the days of Noah, right?
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: And he says, but his years shall be 120.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Now, I used to hear people say that that what that meant was that he was sort of setting the lifespan for man and that we're supposed to be living 120 years and all that, but really it was 120 years until the flood.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: And what he was saying, that man, this man as flesh as he is now, says he's going to last 120 more years.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: And then he's doing a new thing.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: And the fact the name Noah, some of us might know, it means comfort or rest, he says, because he will give my people, he will give the people rest from their labors.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: Now, this is a bit of conjecture, but there is something that I see here in the Bible that we do see from the days of Adam, we do see a curse upon the land.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: And after Noah, we see God saying that there will never again be a curse upon the land.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: So something happened with Noah.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: And Noah was we was really, we see a new beginning.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: It's like what he we see a wiping out of the old.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: We see a dying of all these people, man, as we know it, and essentially a beginning of a new thing.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: And I don't know how bad it was.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: I know that that that that man ate by the sweat of his brow, the ground gave grudgingly, and thorns and thistles would come up, and and some of us say, you know, I'd try to grow a garden, and that still happens to me.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: Maybe, but it was probably worse back then.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: But we know that afterwards Noah steps out of the ark and he plants a vineyard and it produces, it grows.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: And things were different.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: And so the point I'm making here is that this number 120 that pops up every once in a while in the Bible marks a dying off of the old and a beginning of a new.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Moses was 120 years old when he died.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: He turns it over to Joshua.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: You've heard the term Joshua generation, right?
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Well, what happened when Joshua takes over and leads, and what does Joshua, Joshua's Yeshua, right?
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: The name Yeshua in Hebrew is what you what you would say, which is Jesus, you know, the name for Jesus.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: And so when Joshua takes over, he takes a whole different generation in, right?
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: Because the old generation of Moses, it died off in the wilderness.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: And just like Noah, there was a remnant.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: And God would prophesy about the cutting off of the people, and he would leave a stump, and it would be a remnant.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: And just like Joshua and Caleb, who were a remnant from that former generation, but the former generation died, and then Yeshua, Joshua, brings in the new.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: So there's 120.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: There was 120 priests that uh when Solomon dedicated the temple and they were all in one accord, and and uh the cloud filled the temple so that the priest could not stand to minister, and we see 120 also in one accord on the day of Pentecost in the upper room, 120 and something happened that day too, and something new came that day, and something new happened, and that something new has been ever since.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: Ezekiel chapter 36, verse 25.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: God's telling how he's going to do this.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: Verse 25 says, Then I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: Big dumb cup here.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Now, this has to speak of the blood of Jesus.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: This is the cleansing.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: The Bible says the blood of Jesus cleanses you from all sin.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Isn't that great?
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: And that is wonderful and should forever be celebrated.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: But a a lot of Christianity just knows how to center on that one thing.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: Which is a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful thing.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: But there was so much more that was going on.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: That there would be a cleansing.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: And the Bible says that it would be able to purge our consciousness from all sin.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: For the blood of bulls and goats of the Old Testament were not able to purge their consciousness.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: In other words, they would give the sacrifice, but inside they still weren't changed.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: But the blood of Jesus would purge our consciousness.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: And this is why you're able that even though you're weak and foolish vessels, and even though you still blow it, and even though you're still by man's definition flawed, and even though you're by the law's definition sin, you know, sinful, even though you're really not because you're clean.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: But you can blow it, you can mess up, you can fall on your face as I do.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: But something about Jesus can cleanse your consciousness so that it doesn't affect your belief or your feeling about you and God and who you are as a child of God and how righteous you really, really are, no matter what.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: You can truly be free from the guilt of sh or from the shame of guilt.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: So it does that.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: But he says, I'll do that, but then he goes on to some more.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Verse 26 I'll give you a new heart, and I'll put a new spirit within you, and I'll take the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I'll give you a heart of flesh.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: Verse 27 then says, and I will put my spirit within you, and I will cause you to walk in my statutes, and you'll keep my judgments, and you're going to do them.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Now John 10, 10 says, Jesus said, I've come that you would have life and life more abundantly.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: This is all going to come through Jesus, right?
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: John chapter 1, verse 4 says, In him was Zoe, was life, and that life was the light of men.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: So look at this with me.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: In him was life.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: I want us to look at this Son of Man.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: Let's look at Jesus the human.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: There was the word forever which created all things.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: And that word the forever God, logos, expression of God, that would be expressed throughout the Old Testament, as the glory in the temple, for instance, for instance, the presence upon people in different ways.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: And it becomes flesh.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: It takes upon humanity.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: It takes on a physical body, a bios, it takes on a soul, suke, a mind, emotions, and will, just like you have.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: Very, very human.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: There was a reason that it that the word became very, very human.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: Now I want to say this was not just God disguised as a human.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: This was a human.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: This was a new thing in the earth.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: God was going to do a new thing.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: This was not just God disguised as a human.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: Let me say it again.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: This was a human, but a different kind of human.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Whereas there was a first Adam, and now here is a second or last Adam, a man, human, a Dom, human.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: With a soul.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: The Bible says that Jesus, with the soul, I mean, I know we like to think that when he was an infant in the manger, that he already, he, he already knew everything, and he just kind of, he'd be like, Yeah, I'm in a baby's body, but you I know everything there is to know.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: No, the Bible says he grew in wisdom.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: Because he was human.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: Hebrews says he learned obedience.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: So his in his suke, his soul, there was a growing, there was a forming.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: There was, he was very, very, very, very human, but different in the sense that the Bible says that he went around doing good and healing all that were oppressed to the devil, for God was with him, and he talked about the Father is with me, the word in this human flesh, with a human soul, the word, this was a new class of man, a different thing here, walking upon the earth, because God was going to do what he said.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: I am going to give you a new heart.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: And in Jesus, a new heart for mankind was being carried and being formed in this man, Jesus, with the eternal word, also with him, in him, if you will.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: A different kind of man.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: And God didn't do it with all of us at once, but he did it in one.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: And when this child was born, when the word became flesh, human, God had a son, a human son.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: I thought the son always was, the word always was, the logos always was, but the logos was not human until that day.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: And the logos became human.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: Physical human born on this earth.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: Just like Luke 438 says, excuse me, uh tells us that it calls Adam the Son of God because he came forth from God.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: Here's the last Adam.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: That one, the first Adam, the Bible says, through sin, death entered the world.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: So this whole issue is death.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: And I don't have time, but I would love to get into talking more about that part of it.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: How you had a sinless human, for God was with him.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: You had this human with this love affair going on with him, him saying, The Father loves the Son.
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: The Father loves the Son.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: The Father, I can't do anything.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: The Son can't do anything except for by the Father.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: I and my Father are one.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: Me and my Father, me and the Father, the Father and the Son, a love affair in this human person going on between man and God in Jesus.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: And this man, Jesus, with God, the Father with him, lives a sinless life, submits himself to death.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: A man that does not sin, walk in the earth, literally happened.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: A man that did not sin.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: And a man that did not sin does not have to die.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: But a man that did not sin submits himself to death and death takes him into the grave.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: And this thing should not be.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: Because the wages of sin is death.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: And this he who knew no sinits himself and was taken into this death, and now that death has got him, death has got a sinless man.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: And death now has a debt that it cannot pay.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: Because Jesus is gonna is breaking this death by being this sinless, sinless human.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: And death is broken.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: Jesus wins and brings life and resurrection for all of mankind.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: But he would be the first, begotten among many brethren.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: He would go into that and he says, you know, when it's about to happen, he says, What do I what am I gonna say?
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: Father, save me from this?
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: No, I came for this, because unless a seed goes into the ground and dies, it abides alone.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: I'd be the only one.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: And the whole plan that God was stating, even in the Old Testament, was never to have only one, but he was gonna start with one.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: Jesus would be called the forerunner.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Jesus would be called the first, not the only, but the first begotten among many brethren.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: And someone says, Well, I thought I thought Jesus was the only begotten son.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: No, he was the only begotten son.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: He was the one.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Isaiah 9, unto us a child, a human child is born, unto us a son.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: It was given.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: And in him was life.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: In this human Jesus with God.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: Something different that we're not seeing before that.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: This first fruits, this forerunner, in him was life.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: Now Jesus said so many things.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: I don't have time, but I would say if you like doing this kind of thing, go in and start looking at this.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: It's just beautiful and it clears so many things up.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: But he says, No man, no man has life except the Son.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: He was the only one.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: And then also those to whom the Son gives it, which is what he was going to do.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: 1 John chapter 5, verse 11 says, and this is the testimony that God has given us eternal life.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: And this life is in his son.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: He who has the Son has life.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: He who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: These things I've written to you, who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: So he's saying here, eternal life, eternal life.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: Zoe, Zoe, Zoe.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: I want you to know that you have this.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: And Jesus did what he did as this man.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: In fact, 1 Corinthians 15 says, So by a human, by a human, death came into this world.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: By a human also is the resurrection of the dead.
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: By a human.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: You understand, he's something different.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: God, the word, became flesh, God Himself.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: It becomes human, if you will.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: And it made this new thing, and it's called the Son.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: That's why God says, Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: Speaking of Jesus.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: Why was it important?
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: Why was it important?
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: Because God had to do something special.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: He he his whole purpose was to get his life, to get his heart, his spirit, into this flesh creature called man who was lost in the sin and death.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: And he said, I'm gonna put my spirit in you.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: Put my life in you.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: So he does it first, first fruits.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Does it in Jesus.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: Jesus lives that life, learns obedience, grows in wisdom and stature.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: The life of God with the Father and the Son going on together in Him.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: The Father loving the Son, the Father leading the Son, the Father empowering the Son, the Father doing all the things that the Father does with the Son happening in Jesus, manifesting a life in the earth that was going to change everything.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: John chapter 7, verse 38.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: Jesus said, and notice this word believes, because people get contentious about this thing, and I hope this explains it a little bit more to you.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of the heart will flow rivers of living water.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: But he spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in him would receive, for the Holy Spirit was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: Oh, there's so much about this.
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: But there was going to be with this Son a glorification, a magnificence that would happen with his resurrection and ascension.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: And that's maybe that's why Jesus says, not just maybe it is why.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: Jesus says, you know, I gotta go away.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: Can you imagine this?
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: You're the disciples.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: You've been following Jesus for over three years.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: He's the one.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: This man's got power.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: Going around, doing good, healing all.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: For God is with him.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: He's different.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: He's not just a prophet, he's different.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: Not just another military leader, he's just different.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: He's not another person that ascribes to be a leader or a king or something.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: This man's different.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: This guy can walk on water.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: This guy opens the eyes of the blind.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: He even resurrected the dead.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: There's none like him.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: We follow this man.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: He's the right one.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: Who can stand against this man with this kind of power, this kind of ability, this kind of wisdom?
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: There is none like him.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: We've got the right one, baby.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: We're following him.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: And then he dies.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: They watch him die and breathe his last breath on the cross, and it's over.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: They don't know what's going on.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: I was just reading it yesterday.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: He was telling them about the cross, and it says very clearly, but they did not believe him.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: They didn't think it was going to happen.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: How could it happen?
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: How could a man that can raise the dead, how could that happen to him?
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: But it happened, and he dies.
- 24:49SPEAKER_00: And they're all, I thought this was it.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: I really thought he was the one.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: I thought finally the Christ has come and this was going to happen.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: And he dies.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: And they're all they go to the house.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: They don't know what's what.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: But then on the third day, he's alive again.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: And the women go to the grave and go to the tomb and they see that he's alive, and they go and tell the people, and then they they, you know, they got, I gotta see for myself.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: And so Peter and John run to the run to the tomb.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: And I don't know why John did this.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: You ever notice this?
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: But John's kind of like this, I think.
- 25:39SPEAKER_00: John, who's writing the book of John, has to tell us, and John beat him to the tomb.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: John ran on the heaven, and John got there first, you know.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: And look at the book of John.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: He never says anything about him wanting to call fire down on the Samaritans and getting rebuked for that and wanting to sit on the right hand of Jesus.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: He doesn't say anything about all those things.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: He kind of put anyway, we love the book of John.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: I love the book of John.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: It's my favorite gospel.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: Um, but he kind of puts himself in a good light, like most of us do.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: But anyway, but they but they see that he's alive.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: Then he shows up and they're like, he's not dead.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: We won.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: You beat death, Jesus.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: Let's do the thing now.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: We're ready.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: Who can beat you for sure now?
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: Let's go do it now.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: Happy days are here again.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: Everything's all right.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: And then Jesus says, Well, I gotta leave.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: I gotta go.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: And they don't want that.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: And he says, But it's better for you that I go.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: Because if I go, the comforter will come, the spirit will come, the spirit of truth.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: And he starts telling them all these things he's gonna do.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: And he says, so be comforted.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: He says, I will come to you, my life.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: What's the mystery that Paul spoke that's been hidden from the ages?
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: Christ in you, that Christ life.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: I like to say, people, I like to people talk about the Christian life, but we've got to live the Christian life.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: What is the Christian life?
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: And how do you live the Christian life?
- 27:13SPEAKER_00: And I like to say, we don't even live the Christian life.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: It's the Christian life that lives in us, the Christ life, actually.
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: And he came to give that, and he carried that.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: And that life was carried in him, formed in him, in this person, and he says, and no one has life but the Son, but the Son's gonna give life to you, and that would be the coming of the Spirit, who is not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified, and that's what he was talking about.
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: He says, Because if I go, if his glorification, his magnificence with his resurrection and ascension to the Father, forever seated at the right hand of the Father, a son.
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: And a son is a human who is with the Father.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: Why do you think Jesus said things like this in John 14?
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: Hear my words and keep them.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: And my father and I will come to you and make our home in you.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: My father and I.
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: Because the Spirit, that this life that's been imparted to us is that life that Jesus carried, the Father and the Son together.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: What about all the believing?
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: Believe in his name.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: Believe in his name, believe in him.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: A lot of controversy about that.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: Don't we have to believe?
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: But it's not believe or else.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: It's believe and receive.
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: Believe and accept.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: Believe it because it's true.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: Believe it because your father's that good.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: Believe that the father wanted to do this.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: Yes, believe that the father went to these lengths and brought forth a son.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: And then gave that son, that only begotten son, so that many sons would come to glory.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: Yes, believe that he's that good.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: Believe it was his initiative.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: Believe that it was him that wanted it.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: Believe that he did it.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: Believe that Jesus came in the flesh, first John says.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: Because there were some in those days, but no, he no, he couldn't have he couldn't have come in the flesh because flesh is too rotten and sinful.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: So he just came in this esoteric, spiritual, perfect thing.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: No, no, no humanity involved in that.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: And first John, John's like, Come on, you guys, our hands have handled him.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: We've touched him.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: You can't tell me that.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: He was human.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: Even when he showed up to him again, they thought he was a spirit.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: He said, Touch this, the spirit, feel like this.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: Come on.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: Does a spirit have flesh and bone?
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: This is after his resurrection.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: That tells us something about him who's seated at the Father's right hand.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: God has exalted.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: Like a son.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: Like a human son to be with him forever and ever.
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: And no wonder Paul's writing and says, Yeah, but do you understand the mystery of that?
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: We're with him.
- 30:53SPEAKER_00: We're in him, in heavenly places, risen with him, in him, in him, in him, with him, together with him, raised up together with him.
- 31:02SPEAKER_00: This life.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: Says, and so it is written.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: The first man, Adam, became a living being, or a living soul, or the last Adam, Jesus, became a life-giving spirit.
- 31:24SPEAKER_00: I've noticed that a long time ago in reading that.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: Because he came to give life.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: So unless a seed goes into the ground and dies, it abides alone.
- 31:47SPEAKER_00: In other words, Jesus didn't have to die.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: Sinless man does not have to die.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: Death has no hold on him.
- 31:55SPEAKER_00: In fact, he said, There's none of you can take my life.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: I've got to give this thing freely.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: You can't do it.
- 32:09SPEAKER_00: But unless it goes into the ground and dies, it abides alone.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: And Jesus, let's say he foregoes death.
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: And he says, I'm just going to live my sinless life and I'm going to go around doing good.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: Using my power and healing the sick and all that, but he's only one man.
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: And he's walking around, he's traveling around on planet earth and in this earth of billions and billions of people.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: Jesus, the way we see him in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, he'd still be on this earth somewhere doing his good stuff.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: And most of us would never, ever, ever see him.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: I can't believe I never even saw the Rolling Stones when they were in their prime.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: I mean, and they came through and I missed them.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: And here's Jesus.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: You know, you can miss them when there's only one contained in a human body.
- 33:13SPEAKER_00: I want you to see this.
- 33:16SPEAKER_00: That if Jesus is that beloved son, and you think about this love affair with father and son that's going on in him, the father loves the son.
- 33:30SPEAKER_00: And what it is to give that son.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: And if in that son, if he became the first begotten among many brethren, then our identity as children of God is not just some psychological game we're playing in our mind trying to accept or believe.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: Maybe it can become more of a reality to you that God likes humans and liked humans so much that he says, I'm going to come and take on human.
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: And I'm going to elevate human once and forever.
- 34:13SPEAKER_00: Whatever Adam did, and here's an interesting thing.
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: Just a question to throw out to you.
- 34:23SPEAKER_00: God said, if you eat of that tree, you'll die.
- 34:27SPEAKER_00: Adam did.
- 34:27SPEAKER_00: Adam and Eve ate of that tree.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: Died.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: Case closed.
- 34:33SPEAKER_00: Forever, right?
- 34:34SPEAKER_00: No.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: You know, kind of challenges the idea of like there's a limitation.
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: You have to you have to do it by this time.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: God has always fixed and restored everything when it should have been or could have been a forever sentence for mankind.
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: There is no forever sentence.
- 35:05SPEAKER_00: God was going to fix it.
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: Was going to restore, was going to bring in the last Adam to set this right and to make it good.
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: And that God would have children.
- 35:23SPEAKER_00: Jesus said, because of the Son of God, the dead, those that have already died, they will hear the voice of God and live.
- 35:34SPEAKER_00: The voice of the Son of God.
- 35:45SPEAKER_00: God likes humans.
- 35:47SPEAKER_00: You're a human.
- 35:51SPEAKER_00: You're God's child.
- 35:55SPEAKER_00: Just as the word was made flesh and dwelt among us, know ye not that God dwells in you, O child of God.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: Who are you?
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: Who are you?
- 36:10SPEAKER_00: Are you trying to become something?
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: Who are you?
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: What did Jesus do?
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: What hath God wrought?
- 36:21SPEAKER_00: When he did this with humanity.
- 36:29SPEAKER_00: And with that number 120, what did Jesus do?
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: Wasn't he called the firstborn among many brethren?
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: Wasn't he called the first fruits of the new creation?
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: And that new creation is that which we are a part of.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: Because when the 120 were in the room, God fulfilled what he said he was going to do.
- 36:55SPEAKER_00: And he poured it out on all flesh, of all of mankind.
- 36:58SPEAKER_00: And the Bible says he has made all one in Christ.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: And someone says, Is everybody saved and all that?
- 37:08SPEAKER_00: Listen, not everybody knows it, not everybody believes it.
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: Not everybody receives it, has received it.
- 37:15SPEAKER_00: And when we're talking about receiving it, we're talking about taking this into your consciousness, your awareness, your reality, your mentality, so that it's not just some hidden thing somewhere in the spirit.
- 37:31SPEAKER_00: It's your thoughts when you wake up in the morning.
- 37:34SPEAKER_00: Good morning, child of God.
- 37:38SPEAKER_00: Good morning, beloved.
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: Good morning, human that God has loved so much, and not just human, but human son of God or daughter of God, child of God.
- 37:50SPEAKER_00: That's what you are.
- 37:54SPEAKER_00: And if the Son was precious, his children are precious.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: Finally, Acts chapter 2, verse 32.
- 38:12SPEAKER_00: The apostle speaking says, This Jesus, God has raised up, of which all of us are witnesses.
- 38:23SPEAKER_00: And therefore, being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit for us, he poured out this, which you now see and hear.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: We sang it this morning.
- 38:40SPEAKER_00: It is finished, it's done.
- 38:45SPEAKER_00: Behold, what manner of love is this?
- 38:48SPEAKER_00: That we are called the children of God, and not just called that in some way as if it's not true.
- 39:01SPEAKER_00: And beloved, it goes on to say, though it does not yet appear what we shall be, though you may not see clearly this yet, though you may not even know, this is why we're preaching stuff like this, though it doth not yet appear what we shall be, we shall be like him because we'll see him as he is.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it gets hard, sometimes it can hurt.
- 40:33SPEAKER_00: But I want you to be aware of this big divine life, this energetic, divine, eternal, everlasting, beautiful, wonderful life.
- 40:49SPEAKER_00: And in that life you are secure.
- 40:52SPEAKER_00: And the life is that which abides in you, and it and it's happened.
- 40:56SPEAKER_00: You're a part of a new creation.
- 40:59SPEAKER_00: We are not, I just gotta say this, we are not the continuing story of the fallen Adam.
- 41:08SPEAKER_00: Jesus, cut that off.
- 41:12SPEAKER_00: Please don't think that anymore.
- 41:14SPEAKER_00: We are not a continuing story of a fallen Adam with a little asterisk beside it called Jesus.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: The old man is dead, crucified in Christ.
- 41:31SPEAKER_00: Long live the new creation.
- 41:33SPEAKER_00: Got it.
- 41:34SPEAKER_00: Father, I thank you for your goodness.
- 41:36SPEAKER_00: I thank you for the gift.
- 41:37SPEAKER_00: I thank you for the gift of salvation.
- 41:39SPEAKER_00: I thank you, Father, for your great love.
- 41:42SPEAKER_00: For you have found us and brought us home and into your family.
- 41:47SPEAKER_00: For by you we have received the placement into sonship.
- 41:52SPEAKER_00: And by the spirit of sonship we cry, I'm the father, daddy, I'm home.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: You are my father, and I am your child.
- 42:01SPEAKER_00: I know who I am.
- 42:04SPEAKER_00: And we give you praise and thanks for that eternal life power that works within each one through all the days of our life.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: In Jesus' name we pray.
- 42:14SPEAKER_00: Amen.
