- 2:04SPEAKER_00: We've got we've got Mr.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: James Aubrey, England GB, OG's friend, I mean golf friend for Yupe.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: We've brought him in.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: So James, it's a pleasure to have you here.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: How are you?
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: I'm great, thanks.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Thanks so much for having me.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Um I've been asking for this for a while, Phil.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: And you've been you've been keeping me away.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: So yeah, really excited to be here, even though Brendan's not here.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, looking forward to it.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: It's a long time coming, like you say.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: You've been a long-term friend of the podcast, always adding ideas, always, always, always coming at us.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: I appreciate it, and I'm sorry it's took so long.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: But Yupe, are you all okay?
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: I'm all good.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: I'm all good.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm curious uh what uh orbs will bring to the pot.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: Uh I wouldn't say there's like the shoes to fill are that big, to be honest.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: Like Brendan did it at a whole lot.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: So yeah, he's he's he's coming in hot with his own segment.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: He's coming in prepared, which is better than Yupe's ever done.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: So I'm I've got high hopes for this episode.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: Um, he was you were an obvious guest from the startups.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: You you love your hockey, you love your golf.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: You and Yupe have somehow, without even knowing each other, bonded over golf.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: Um you're just a general podcast advocate.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: Um, and generally you do think that you will be good here.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: So I I'm I'm confident it's gonna go well.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: Can you talk me through how you and you and Yupe started conversing?
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Because also, sorry, free shout out.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Orbs has started a hack company which me and Yup are both fully on the bandwagon with.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: It's it's Portland Co.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: So please check them out on Instagram or probably head to Orbs' page and he'll he'll sort you out.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: But how and you how did you and Yupe start this this golf love?
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: It's a great yeah.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: I I don't know how it started, to be honest with you.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Um bear in mind we've never actually played golf, but we are gonna we are gonna get around in uh at some point.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, I don't know.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: I just you know I saw a few things on his Instagram, him enjoying his golf.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Uh we've never played too close together on the pitch, so we've never actually really spoken like you and Phil have.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: But um yeah, um yeah, lots, lots of golf.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: And then uh yeah, Yup's been a bit that big advocate of the hat brand, which has been uh it's been great to see him out there ripping the merch.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Um hopefully we can uh get some photos up of him soon and draw a bit more attention to the uh to the page, sell a few more hats.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: Um whether or not you is gonna sell you hats is is another question, isn't it?
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: I mean it's a real shame that this podcast is just you know it's uh it's not a a YouTube series because if you could see him now, um yeah, he's looking it's looking really sharp, I have to say.
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: If if I if I I'm I'm I'm uh if I can be very humble, I look glorious at the moment with my uh with my portion and co-head.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: So I'm actually, you know what, I don't, I I have three.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: I have the white, the dark blue, and the black one.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: I don't play golf without it anymore.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: Um I don't have the the easiest uh uh hat to wear a hat.
- 5:10SPEAKER_02: Um and these actually fit quite well, if I can say so.
- 5:14SPEAKER_02: So I'm quite happy with it.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: I do have one, we did have one uh uh interaction where uh um I made uh I ran with the ball uh for quite a while, and then uh you gave me like a somewhat of a rugby tackle, which I made the most out of, and uh flew almost into the stance.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: And you you the shithouse where you are, uh you uh you went to the riff.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: Oh, I didn't touch him, didn't touch him.
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: And the fucking video ref went with it, even though he did touch me.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: Like I'm um I'm I'm a lengthy fucker.
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: If you touch me, I'll go to the ground.
- 5:46SPEAKER_02: You touched me, and I still still a bit annoyed that I didn't get a stroke there.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: I was wondering when you were gonna bring this up.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: I I thought it would be later on, but I'm glad you brought it up early.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: Um, what actually happened was Yup was running around the he was running around the sideline quite fast.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: I was just trying to keep up with those long legs.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: Uh big gust of wind came and uh blew him into the stand, which he was really upset about.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: But um, luckily the the umpire could see that on the video uh and it got overturned.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: I think it was giving us a stroke originally.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, even if if if I'm really honest, Orbes, even I was on the bench at the time and they went upstairs, we went upstairs for this, and it showed in slow-mo.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: And I was like, there's no way they can overturn this.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Like, there is no way, as biased as I am, and as much as you're like, nah, it's never a stroke.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 6:37SPEAKER_02: I was like, You know what made it worse?
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: You know what made it worse is um you did touch me, but I still took two steps and then decided, oh fuck, I should have thought that's what made it not very silly, and because I'm not wouldn't say I'm unathletic, but I'm not the most athletic guy out there.
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: It it it the fall was very unathletic, which made it seem uh that it wasn't a stroke, and I still believe to this day it was a stroke.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Okay, well we'll have to move on from that one, I think.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we don't have to get lost in yes.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: So, I mean, James Aubrey.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: I just want to want to give you a brief lowdown about your your career.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: You got your first cap for England in 2017.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: Um you have 47 England caps, 37 GB caps.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: You've been a mainstay and a and a huge part in the England GB team since 2022, after a after a I think it's fair to say a few years in the wilderness.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: Um but you came out strong and it's been a it's been you know spare man, a huge a huge part of the team.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Um you've uh you've been in the England teams that won European silver and commonwealth bronze.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Um generally, generally, we're gonna get on to your we're gonna do FIFA cards, it's the return of FIFA cards, and Orbs is Orbs is very keen.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: We're gonna we're gonna run through Orbs' FIFA card.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: But before I do, um I've got one big question, Yupe, and this is to you.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: Do you think you have more or less goals than Orbs?
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Internationally, yeah.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: Not a game, I've got loads of those.
- 8:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay, because I I've I've I've got I've got a fair few uh penalty corner variation goals there.
- 8:25SPEAKER_02: Uh uh I've scored uh three.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: I I score like one every 50 caps, which is a great ratio to have.
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: Uh I know Olps has scored at the Olympics.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: I think he's at like five, I think, four or five.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: That was one of my best goals as well, that one at the Olympics.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: I miss slapped it.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: Victor Charlet very kindly then backsticked it through his own keeper's legs for me.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: Um hell of a finish.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you see a lot that I remember them.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: You would be right.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: Orbs has four goals, so he's just pipped you.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: And I I do also think it's quite nice that we we have two of you who are very, very similar.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: You got you, you got your hand up already.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: Go on, yeah.
- 9:11SPEAKER_02: Um, so he scored one against France.
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: Did he also score one against like uh Ghana or like uh Zimbabwe or somewhere at the Commonwealth, uh like the shitty tournament?
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: I've played it just out of sheer curiosity.
- 9:24SPEAKER_02: We don't play we don't play those countries.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Do you know who they're against Orbs?
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: I didn't go that far.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, of course I do, Phil.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: I've got them all marked up somewhere.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Um one corner variation against Austria in the in the Europeans.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: So it's a bad start.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: Big, big tournament.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and admittedly, we were admittedly it was we were drawing at that point, so it was a big goal.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: Um, and then I head, I actually headbutted Tom Soresby in the celebration.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: It was that exciting.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: Um might have to pull that clip up from somewhere.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that is a phenomenal clip.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Sorry, just very quickly before Orbs gets into it.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: We're all very excited.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: There's like a team hug.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: Orbs literally pauses, sees Soresby in front of him, and just literally nuts him for no reason whatsoever, other than like pure joy, which I've never seen before.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: It's it's vicious as well.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: It is vicious.
- 10:21SPEAKER_02: Um is it is it worse than Brendan than Brendan uh lifting up his coach?
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: Oh no, no, no.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, no.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: This was you'd love this clip.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: This is this is a great clip.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: It just makes no sense.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: I still can't work out what was gonna yeah.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, then uh South Africa uh in the pro league corner breakdown and deadly from a yard.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: Um tap him.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: And the last one is beyond me.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: Okay, could have been probably a worldie from the top of the D.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: Similar to that one that you scored, actually.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: You um carrying.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: I've seen it about a thousand times.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: To be honest, I hit that shot.
- 11:15SPEAKER_02: I've I I I almost like it.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: Would have been uh if it was a two-iron, it probably would have gone like 130 yards.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: It was like a topped shot, which I don't know how ended up in the bottom corner.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but that's like a that's like a basketball thing, isn't it?
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Like you know, when you do a sick crossover or you make an unbelievable action, it's like the the ball almost has to go in the hoop at that point.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: It's like the keep the keeper understood the assignment.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was like he has to let this in.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, in real time, but he was willing it to go in.
- 11:41SPEAKER_02: In in real time, it looks quite okay.
- 11:43SPEAKER_02: You think oh it's a decent shot, and then you see the the replay and you see my stick like hitting the ground before and on its way up hitting the ball like on top of it, and it has like a it almost has top spin on it, so it went, yeah.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the goalie was already in the corner.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: You do you want to be smug and tell us because we've never done this actually, who your goals are against?
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think I know who they're against, but who are your three goals against?
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: Uh Belgium, uh Germany, and uh Canada.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: My first goal after 96 caster.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: Uh and it was uh it was uh also I think I ran an air to four meet for the 15 years on that goal.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: Uh but that run I slept in front of the goal and uh the goalie, I don't know who, but the goalie saved it, but with Letk's hook, it went into the goal.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: So it it would have gone across the goal, it would have never gone in, and the goalie tried to save it, and it went back in the goal.
- 12:36SPEAKER_02: So also a great goal to score your first.
- 12:39SPEAKER_02: Took me 96 caps.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: Okay, and I was gonna say, I think to to finish off this little just to introduce Orbs, is that it's actually nice to have two guys who sit in the room, you're very, very different hockey players, but you both play fullback, both like a spare man role, but you also are huge, huge right attacking right half players.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: Is that if you both get a chance, it's an attacking right half.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: It's none of this left stuff, like get away from me, it's get up there.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: Orbs's job for OGs is basically to play as a right midfielder, um, get the ball and normally score or assist for us passing to Wadi normally.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: So it's it's it's a nice, it's a nice uh uh makeup, and you you know you might be able to swap some tips on how to run down the right hand side.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: Well, I don't know if yeah, I the only tip that I have for you is when he's carrying that right side, just just to be careful of the wind, as we've already spoken about.
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: That would be my only tip.
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I've gained I I want to say I've gained a I've gained a couple pounds, but uh it's still uh like a solid uh almost two meters long, 80 kilograms kind of deal.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: So it's not a I think the wind will play a factor uh for quite a while still.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: My my only tip is uh um get get somewhat taller because you've like you can't the people don't see it, but he's he's not sitting on a chair, but he's standing up right now uh while we're doing the podcast.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: Uh and use use your legs a bit more in just one fake and go.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: That's my only tip for you.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean into the choir.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: I'm sure we're gonna get into our game when we do our FIFA cards, to be honest with you.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: So I'll probably jump in the gun a little bit.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: Wanted to very quickly touch on just the finals of the Hoof Classic before we get into some FIFA cards and stuff.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: Um, first of all, we didn't break it down when we're recording this.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: There's been one leg on the Sunday, and then the final is this Thursday.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: Um, so the current scores are Campong with 4-3 up um against Amsterdam and Stixer and Denbosch are one all.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: Um, just coming to you, you first can you give us like a quick breakdown of like what you thought of the semi-finals and then that first that first final game?
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: Um, oh actually, dude, yeah, go out, go wherever you want.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: I'm not precious.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: Don't worry, Phil.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: I was planning to go wherever I wanted anyhow.
- 15:11SPEAKER_02: Um so uh yeah, kampong uh won, and I think uh not deservedly so to be honest.
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: I think Amsterdam was uh actually the better team.
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: I've heard that the circle penetrations were 30 for Amsterdam and only 11 for Campong.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: Um but yeah, it was it was a good final to be honest.
- 15:29SPEAKER_02: A lot of stupid cards, uh a lot of uh shit talking.
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: Uh you guys would have, I think, would have actually loved it.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: Uh Duco Telgekamp played uh 58 horrible minutes of hockey, got one ball in the D, turned and from an impossible corner scored a goal and made it all up again in typical Duco fashion.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: Uh uh there was a stroke that wasn't a stroke, there were cards.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: Son of the wine uh got a green card for actually while he got he got the foul, so the referee blew a foul for him, uh, but he still got a card, which I've not seen in a while.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: Duco got a green card, did like like he waved away the referee, got a yellow for it.
- 16:10SPEAKER_02: Uh two young guys got a card that it was carnage to be honest.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: It was Duco sent an interview, it looked a bit like football, and I think it was.
- 16:17SPEAKER_02: Uh, but it's yeah, it's 4-3.
- 16:19SPEAKER_02: I think I still have my money on Kampong, uh, because even though the fuckers play shit, they still win it.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: Um, and I think they found their groove.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: Uh I think uh yeah, sorry, just to add on that, is that watching the highlights, having not watched the game, is that first of all, like again, another great spectacle for hockey in general, because the the Campong crowd, the fact they put all three stands around the around the pitch, there was some serious atmosphere with the Amsterdam inner in a section.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: It seemed like not just normal hockey when someone scores a goal and everyone just claps politely.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: It was like actually people going mental and like enjoying the celebrations, enjoying the atmosphere, and then like what happened on the pitch seemed to then like filter out to the crowd and people getting seriously, seriously excited.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: Just before we go on to the women, Orbs, did you did you tune in?
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I did actually.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: Um, we had the links into been to our India League team, so I ended up watching a bit of it.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: Um I thought it was great.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: I loved the flares.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: Um I think my favourite sort of consistent theme throughout the whole final was uh Temperman just at every opportunity, just closing it into the D, uh forehand or backhand.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: I absolutely loved that.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: Um but yeah, it just looked it looked, yeah, as you say, for a great spectacle.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: Um and like yeah, I'll probably tune in for the second leg.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: Um and they've already said that the 6,500 tickets have been sold and it's completely sold out of the Wagner Stadium for that game, which again is just a an amazing thing for hockey.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: Sorry, Yup, go on for the women's the women's game.
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, they're actually they they they actually um uh they're building in now another uh stand, and it that's that's where the 800 extra tickets came from, and it got sold out within like two hours.
- 18:10SPEAKER_02: Uh also the week before the final or in the week be after final, uh the whole club, whole all of the Amsterdam club went out and like did like uh an honorary, I don't know how you say it, like uh like a tunnel where the players had to walk through, you know, in the premier in the Premier League when they win the title the next uh next game, like the options of honor.
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: Guard of honor, that's what I'm looking for.
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: They kind of did like a guard of honor for the final uh team practice, which was kind of cool.
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: Um to be honest, Amsterdam is quite a cool story, like they were ninth, they were all fighting for relegation last year.
- 18:40SPEAKER_02: They uh to be honest, like uh you guys know uh what it feels like, but the club threw a bag of money at the team, and now all of a sudden they're good.
- 18:48SPEAKER_02: Um so yeah, uh, it's actually quite cool that uh it's quite like uh inspiring to see that uh a lot of money brings success.
- 18:56SPEAKER_02: Like who would have thought?
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, they they actually have a cool team, and I think they are they're in a good spot.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: At the women's side, to be honest, I didn't watch all of it, I watched some of it.
- 19:06SPEAKER_02: Uh it's 1-1.
- 19:07SPEAKER_02: Uh it's it's quite close, it's closer than it's been in a while.
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: But yeah, if you ask me, I think uh fucking them boss will win it again.
- 19:18SPEAKER_02: Um that it's like when it's close, and all of us I think they they always win it.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: So um, yeah.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: I think if anything it makes it a little bit more interesting, obviously, bad news.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: Um, again, why one athlete Laura Nunnink, who's uh who's an incredible player for Denbosch, just done her um anterior cruciate ligament, which is like sending her best wishes, but also a huge loss for Den Bosch going into that final game.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: And you know, we're looking for I I don't know.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Do you root for an underdog or do you want the champion to keep being the champion?
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: Well, you're a Golden State fan, so you were you're uh rooting for the champion to be state a champion.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: I'm kind of rooting for the underdog to be honest.
- 19:58SPEAKER_02: I wish I I think it's cool for hockey if Stixer wins because they haven't won it in a career in their uh club history yet.
- 20:04SPEAKER_02: So uh like I was rooting for Serbiton as well, and uh that that came out, so I hope uh um Stixer will win it as well.
- 20:11SPEAKER_02: No, I was I was really curious.
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: I think we're about to go to the show.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: Quick side note, quick side note.
- 20:19SPEAKER_02: I'm now uh uh you guys really uh uh like your uh your reputation.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: You you you you outdid yourself again by getting another two uh national team players uh into your squad.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: Like you thought uh the goalie, like I don't really know him, Pinor, but he like I only watched him in EHL.
- 20:38SPEAKER_02: Didn't seem like he's in his best form right now, so you thought let's upgrade it with one of the better goalies there is.
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: And you guys, I think Croft is a striker, right?
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: So yeah, you guys yeah, good segue though to our news.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: There's lots there's been lots of transfers.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: Orbs, how how if I put you on the spot now and said, could you name the transfers and the top five or whatever signings that you've seen this year?
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: Do you reckon you could like list a few, or is that too much on the spot?
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: I I could definitely try and give you a few.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: Um I think you've already alluded to it.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: Uh I think one would probably be Masarello to Old Georgians.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: Um recently, recently been signed, um, or been announced, should I say, which is uh really exciting move for us.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: Um that's quite a sensitive move or not.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: I think it is, yeah, for sure.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: Um moving from the team that's just won the league to the team that just came second, um is always an interesting move, but uh I don't know, you'd have to speak to Maz on this one.
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: I think it I think it's fair to say that it like raised a few eyebrows because he's been at Serbiton for a while.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: You know, for example, I didn't I didn't see it coming, but obviously it's fantastic news for us because he's like you said, he's one of the best goalies in the world right now.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Now and gonna be huge for us next year.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: Are you not you're not happy about that, say?
- 22:06SPEAKER_02: I think you're very loose with the term best goalie in the world.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: No, he's the second goalie, he's the second goalie of England.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: With this one, with this one, you'll I'll fight, I'll fight this one.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: This is trust me, he's one of the best goals in the world right now.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: So the second goalie of England is one of the best goalies in the world.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: Okay, fair enough.
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: Go on.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: I'm happy to I'm happy to put my neck on the line for that one.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: I'd probably back you up with that one.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Um certainly in terms of on form at the moment, he is uh he's definitely up there.
- 22:44SPEAKER_02: Um will he not will he knock a plane out of the first goalie position?
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be very interesting.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: Um I think both on their day are are unbelievable, and I wouldn't want to have to be the person that would call it.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: We haven't got our mystic ball you, so we'll move it on.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: Uh you're at another signing?
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, go on.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: Just list a few and then we'll and then and then uh oh I'll do I'll do the next one.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: We'll just go um I've got a few, I've got a few, you can go uh uh Bandera actor Cerberton um is a is a big move.
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: One year at EG.
- 23:34SPEAKER_01: Um you can maybe elaborate on that one.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: You or Phil?
- 23:43SPEAKER_02: No, you yeah, great great move by him.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: All in agreement.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: Great signing for them.
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: Um I thought I thought he signed somewhere else.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: I forgot, but um the signal to uh I I I do remember something on Instagram coming out, but I I don't know, maybe we're missing something.
- 24:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so somewhere in Holland, I have no clue.
- 24:09SPEAKER_02: Blumenel, Amsterdam, no, no, that doesn't matter.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: Very politically correct.
- 24:15SPEAKER_02: That's a great signing by Serbiton.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, good signing.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: I said very politically correct.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um, and also follow that up into their forward line.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: Uh Will Cannon coming back from from uh so that you know some real firepower up front for them next year.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: Uh am I just doing the English ones or are we gonna do you want to add in a few others?
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: You you will bring you in.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: What's the best signing of the Dutch league?
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: And you can't say you can't say Struan Walker to OR because I know I can read your mind.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: Then I'm not saying anything.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: Okay, well, that's very comprehensively summed up any new transfers and Henry Croft to OGs.
- 25:02SPEAKER_02: So yeah, we're gonna thank you.
- 25:05SPEAKER_02: Why can you say Henry fucking Croft who no one knows?
- 25:08SPEAKER_02: And why can I say Struan Walker?
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: Struin Walker will score 45 goals next year in the Holflasse.
- 25:15SPEAKER_02: Trust me.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: I'll be disappointed if it's less.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: I'll let him know.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: I wasn't saying it because he's not a good signer, I was saying it because you've brought up at every point in the last three weeks that Stuar and Walker's the best signing.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: Paul Roper fucked us over at OR.
- 25:37SPEAKER_02: So I'm happy a British player comes joining back.
- 25:42SPEAKER_02: Martis is whole again.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: Okay, and on that note, we're gonna be back after the break for FIFA cards.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: Right, and we're back.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: We're we're bringing back FIFA cards as it has been a hugely popular thing over the season, mainly with us.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: We don't actually know if the fans like it, but we like the FIFA cards.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: And obviously, we've got James Orbs in here with us.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: So um we're gonna do his FIFA card and we're gonna renew mine and you've, which I think is gonna go badly for me and well for you, if I'm really honest with how I'm feeling about this.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: Um, you're already smirking at me.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: So, what we're gonna start with is we're all gonna do to start with the pace, and then we'll decide all of our pace, then we'll go to the shot, the pass, the dribble, the defense, the physicality, and then we'll do overall.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: And uh we're gonna see how it goes.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna bring in you to start.
- 26:40SPEAKER_02: Because I I rated you, right?
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so you can tell me my pace, and then I'll do it.
- 26:47SPEAKER_02: To be honest, Phil, I was I was quite friendly towards you.
- 26:54SPEAKER_02: So don't take it all too personal.
- 26:57SPEAKER_02: I gave you pace, I gave you an uh an uh an 80.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know what?
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: I'll I'll run to the hills with that.
- 27:06SPEAKER_02: I think that's quite nice, to be honest.
- 27:08SPEAKER_02: Like, let's be honest.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: You're not you I think you have a pretty decent acceleration, but you're not really quick.
- 27:14SPEAKER_02: You can hold your own, so I think 80 is like it's uh I think if you look objectively at it, I think it's on the high side, but I think you deserve it.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: Hey, you this is the nice thing.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: I think 80 is is generous.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it is, yeah, yeah.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: Especially if you look at if you look at training, I mean we're in quite a hard block right now, but week three.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: Um he got just above a jog yesterday and and had to completely end the session.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: So I think 80 is fair.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: I'm glad you're coming in just to you know match you's energy orbs here.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm really glad that that's happened, and you're not you know on my side at all.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: Super buzzed about that.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: Okay, and I just change change a few change a few of my scores.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's fine.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: Um, I've for orbs, I I had your pace as 84.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: Um, I think you are quite quick, but I think I used it in more of a case of you don't use it that much.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: So and then it's a kind of like how efficient, sorry, how important that is to your game.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: So I gave you an 84.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: Thanks.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: I will take that.
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: Um, you I actually so just to slight caveat, I looked at your last card, um just to give me a bit of a you know ballpark.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: Um, and I actually decided to put your pace up from last time.
- 28:48SPEAKER_01: Um for a number of reasons.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: I think especially top speed is once you get going, it may take you a while, but once you get going, there's some good speed in there.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna I've given you an 88, which I think is real high, but that's that's real high, to be honest.
- 29:06SPEAKER_02: I think it's fair.
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but you know, don't worry, it's about the anything that I the only thing that I put up.
- 29:14SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's harsh.
- 29:15SPEAKER_02: I think I'm like I consider myself uh uh like an old school steam locomotive.
- 29:21SPEAKER_02: Like that you have to still put calls in and shit.
- 29:24SPEAKER_02: Like it takes a while, but once it gets going, it's it's hard to stop.
- 29:27SPEAKER_02: Two weeks in a row, you're using the word locomotive.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: I don't know if that's acceptable.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: It's a great word, Philip.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: It's a great fucking word.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: Also, I do think that you use your pace, so I do think that that therefore you should maybe marked up for it.
- 29:42unknown: I don't know.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: I think as well.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: I when you when I was looking through it, there's the all of the the clips um on the on the pod or wherever you've been tagged are all just of you running past people.
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: So I it was hard to look past a high score.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: Um not obviously not quite in the 90s, but for a defender, I think that's that's pretty good.
- 30:05SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm more than happy with uh with 88.
- 30:08SPEAKER_02: I think again it's it's a bit on the hype, but I I I'll take it any day of the week.
- 30:13SPEAKER_02: Um shall I shall I take it over with uh shot?
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:18SPEAKER_02: So um again, Philip.
- 30:20SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry.
- 30:21SPEAKER_02: I think I I had to take average of your forehand and your back end.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: I know you scored a great forehand goal in the semifinal, I think it was, against I don't even know you you I don't even know who you guys played, but I know it was the chicken plays, right?
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's not important.
- 30:39SPEAKER_02: This is a really good tip.
- 30:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:41SPEAKER_02: So probably the goalie uh uh was done fanning the chicken.
- 30:45SPEAKER_02: I thought ah fuck I played pulling, so I don't know how serious we can take the four goal.
- 30:50SPEAKER_02: So I thought your foot is probably around a 6'2, 6'1.
- 30:54SPEAKER_02: Your back end is actually really good, it's like probably high 80s, almost uh 90.
- 31:01SPEAKER_02: So I came to uh like a 78 shot.
- 31:06SPEAKER_02: Because again, if it's only backhand, you're quite high.
- 31:09SPEAKER_02: I think if it's forehand, like yeah, you know my opinion about your forehead.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'll bring that too low.
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: I'll bring orbs in.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: I I want to I want to hear his his take.
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: Difficult because I'm gonna have to be on Phil's side here.
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: Um Phil in recent weeks, if anything, the forehand is is going better than the back end.
- 31:34SPEAKER_01: Um and yeah, he bear in mind he's the self-proclaimed uh best backhand in the world.
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: Um, or maybe not self-proclaimed, yeah, maybe he declaimed that once.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: I've heard that, but definitely much better on the forehand in recent weeks.
- 31:49SPEAKER_01: Um, and is scoring a lot of goals, um which yeah, I I think it needs to be higher.
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: You know what I'll do?
- 31:59SPEAKER_02: Oh, because that's also who we are.
- 32:01SPEAKER_02: We are also open to criticism.
- 32:03SPEAKER_02: I'll change the pace down to a 78 and I'll up the shot to an 81.
- 32:08SPEAKER_02: Do we agree with that?
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: Look, I'm not, I don't think we should get a say in it, but but I'm not buzzing, but also I don't really want to be taking training form into a FIFA card because that's not really acceptable.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: But I do appreciate your feedback, Oz, because I was looking for what you you said.
- 32:26SPEAKER_02: Um so your shot your shot got upped to an 81, Philip.
- 32:30SPEAKER_02: That's really good for someone with a shot like you, let's be honest.
- 32:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: I I'm also just uh I'll ignore that bit, but I will say that I've never proclaimed to have the best backhand in the world.
- 32:42SPEAKER_00: So so it was just it was just said about me, and I didn't agree.
- 32:47SPEAKER_02: That's that's such a comment for someone who who who would said today and to have the second thing world on KF.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: I say it off air, but just not not not live.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: Um, right, I had your shot orbs again, wouldn't say this is something we need to like land on for too long because you're a defender, and you know, we've already talked about you having three three goals internationally.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: Um, you do have an incredibly consistent forehand and backhand low far post, but how impactful is that in international games?
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: Not particularly.
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: So I put it as a as a kind 82.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: Like we're we're talking about how this affects the the uh the game.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: Uh I now think that it should be like 70 if if if if mine's an 81.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: Just because we're talking about shooting at the goal and you're a centre back.
- 33:41SPEAKER_01: So what you're saying is you're upset that my shooting is better than yours.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: I think that's exactly what he's saying.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: That's exactly what I'm saying.
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: But you but you did give me an 82.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I and I stand by it.
- 33:56SPEAKER_00: I think you have a you have an excellent forehand and backhand shot.
- 33:59SPEAKER_00: It's just completely redundant in your line of work.
- 34:02SPEAKER_02: I think it's uh I think it's like silent uh jab meat that I gave madey one more than you than getting an A2, to be honest.
- 34:11SPEAKER_02: Remember, it started with a 78, eh?
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: So we already got three points up with him.
- 34:19SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, you I I put your shooting up, you were at 73, which I I don't like this idea that it's just how you know impactful you are in games.
- 34:35SPEAKER_01: Because you know, if you start Khier Henry back in the day at right back, he doesn't just suddenly lose his ability to score goals, you know, he still has that ability.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: Um so you know, so I did stick yours only by two instead of 75.
- 34:55SPEAKER_01: Um and that was generous considering you did duff that one.
- 35:00SPEAKER_01: Um great goal, but you you did duff it.
- 35:04SPEAKER_01: Um but I did also see you know a few other shots out there.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: So I yeah, I thought 73 was was quite low, but so I stuck it up too.
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: So it's a 75.
- 35:17SPEAKER_02: Um I'm gonna be really honest.
- 35:20SPEAKER_02: I think that's that's I thought 73 was on the high side.
- 35:24SPEAKER_02: I think 75 is taking the piss.
- 35:27SPEAKER_02: Um I I have a good I have a quite a good pass, like uh like as in a forehand pass, backhand pass.
- 35:33SPEAKER_02: I could like why, but as soon as I get to the circle and have to hit, like I want to say the duff was an excellent, but I duffed quite a few shots in training as well.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: Like I have the occasional sweet spot and it's like oh that guy is a good shot.
- 35:47SPEAKER_02: Uh I think uh yeah, I'm not there's there's not a lot of things on Ocky Field I can't do, but a shot is is is one of them.
- 35:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: I I do think though, to really clarify Orbs, is that Orbs is one of the few defenders that's not scared of shooting and it's not scared of the D.
- 36:05SPEAKER_00: So I think we probably need to clarify that, and I still think that that's probably a fair score.
- 36:08SPEAKER_00: Appreciate your honesty, you that's big for you.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: Congratulations.
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: Would you want to move on to the pass?
- 36:16SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 36:17SPEAKER_02: Um, I don't know what I gave or what you got last time, Phil, for passing.
- 36:21SPEAKER_02: Um, I gave you a uh which I think again is is fairly on the high side, but I still like I like as a person.
- 36:27SPEAKER_02: And don't don't start being a bitch.
- 36:30SPEAKER_02: Some of the get-go.
- 36:31SPEAKER_02: I think I gave a 66.
- 36:33SPEAKER_02: Uh, but that's again because you're not known for your passing.
- 36:37SPEAKER_02: I also looked at it like yours you're like an attacking striker, you're sometimes me to mostly strike.
- 36:43SPEAKER_02: Like, wait till you drill because I'm really I I can really read the drill, but just don't think you pass a lot.
- 36:49SPEAKER_02: You only give a little pass over like meters, max.
- 36:53SPEAKER_02: You never never slap a ball, you never you don't even throw aerials.
- 36:57SPEAKER_02: So I I think a 66 is kind of fair.
- 37:00SPEAKER_02: If we put it in like a give and go perspective, you're quite high, but it's mostly short passing, so like a 66.
- 37:08SPEAKER_02: Is that fair, Philip?
- 37:09SPEAKER_02: Or are you again stepped on your toes?
- 37:11SPEAKER_00: I don't know why you look stepped on your toes.
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: I don't know why.
- 37:15SPEAKER_00: I don't know why I agree to this episode.
- 37:16SPEAKER_00: It's stupid.
- 37:18SPEAKER_00: Can outrage quit an episode?
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: Is that acceptable?
- 37:23SPEAKER_02: Thanks for having me.
- 37:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, orbs it's been a pleasure, mate.
- 37:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, great, great.
- 37:31SPEAKER_01: 20 uh 20, we'll be done.
- 37:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 20 22 minutes.
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: Thanks very much.
- 37:36SPEAKER_01: Um, great to speak to you both.
- 37:40SPEAKER_02: Can I just start talking about it?
- 37:41SPEAKER_02: Come on, you're not a good parser, mate.
- 37:44SPEAKER_02: Amazing qualities as a hockey player, but parson just isn't one of them.
- 37:47SPEAKER_02: Be a little some self-reflection, mate.
- 37:50SPEAKER_02: You haven't watched me play.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: When was the last time you watched me play?
- 37:55SPEAKER_00: Hockey India League.
- 37:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's not important.
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: That wasn't very good then.
- 38:00SPEAKER_01: Passing also in the Hockey India League was not a uh was not an option.
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: I don't know if he watched it.
- 38:08SPEAKER_01: There was no passing in the league.
- 38:11SPEAKER_02: You weren't allowed, so I have to I have to base it on on what he did at OR and he didn't pass.
- 38:17SPEAKER_02: So uh uh what's what's the oh Phil?
- 38:20SPEAKER_02: Come on, get off the fucking closet, mate.
- 38:22SPEAKER_02: You're not a good Phil.
- 38:23SPEAKER_02: Are you a good passer?
- 38:25SPEAKER_02: Like, are you like a really good passer?
- 38:29SPEAKER_00: What class is a good passer?
- 38:30SPEAKER_00: Because you're comparing this what we got into the same shit as we're getting into last time, is that you're saying because I don't spray 60 yard fucking slaps like some lanky Dutch prick that that I can't pass the ball.
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: My job is not to slap the ball 60 yards.
- 38:47SPEAKER_00: Does that make that make me a bad person?
- 38:49SPEAKER_01: If you're passing it, if if you're passing it, Phil, you're doing something wrong.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: So I actually would take 66 as as a compliment.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: I'm sick of that.
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: Because you don't you don't want to be passing it.
- 39:01SPEAKER_01: If you're passing it, something's right.
- 39:04SPEAKER_02: I've never never thought I would have uh I would get you on on you're not even on on the closet, you're on the Empire fucking state building at the moment.
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: Why are you so why are you so no?
- 39:16SPEAKER_02: You shouldn't pass.
- 39:17SPEAKER_00: I was annoyed at the the the OR comment because I I didn't pass an OR, but that was three years ago.
- 39:24SPEAKER_00: So so games, and I've said this many times on the podcast, people are not still, they move, they adapt, they change.
- 39:32SPEAKER_00: I'm old now, I run, I run less fast, I have to pass more.
- 39:39SPEAKER_00: So that was my point.
- 39:41SPEAKER_00: But also again, you've just looked at it and been like, oh, I saw Phil play three years ago.
- 39:45SPEAKER_00: Let's change it from the exact same FIFA card to the exact same FIFA card.
- 39:50SPEAKER_02: You know what, Philip?
- 39:51SPEAKER_02: I take your criticism and I'll up it to a 67.
- 39:54SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: Right, sorry, we're getting lost.
- 39:58SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm I'm not actually that annoyed.
- 39:59SPEAKER_00: We'll do the pass for James.
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: So James, um, as I've already I've already touched on, you you have the the kind of full works as a as a any fullback really should have the full works as a as an international fullback.
- 40:15SPEAKER_00: Um I think in particular you have the a clean hit, which is which is used well.
- 40:20SPEAKER_00: Um your aerial has got bigger for a little guy, so congratulations with that.
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: I gave you an 86 of a pass, which I thought was pretty fair.
- 40:29SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure you're like if we're saying like Arthur Van Doren is a 95 passer, I think 86 is a is a is a fair score.
- 40:39SPEAKER_01: Thank you for that score report.
- 40:41SPEAKER_01: That was fantastic.
- 40:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this is how you do a thief card properly.
- 40:45SPEAKER_01: You know, I love that.
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: I think yeah, 86, fantastic.
- 40:50SPEAKER_01: Which is actually the score that you I gave you.
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: Um you were at an 88, but I brought you down a couple of points.
- 41:00SPEAKER_01: Um just because I can't remember the last time I actually saw you pass it either.
- 41:06SPEAKER_01: Um which similar logic to Phil has to bring you down a couple of pegs.
- 41:12SPEAKER_00: Can he be a 67 as well then?
- 41:14SPEAKER_00: Or is that not possible?
- 41:16SPEAKER_01: I think that might be a step too far.
- 41:19SPEAKER_01: Um fair enough.
- 41:21SPEAKER_01: There's still a lot of ability there, you know.
- 41:23SPEAKER_01: So especially you know, when you play at fullback to have a 67 pass, I think you might be struggling.
- 41:32SPEAKER_00: You put your take on that.
- 41:35SPEAKER_02: Uh thank you for your uh for your rating.
- 41:38SPEAKER_02: Uh uh, and I get your uh your explanation.
- 41:41SPEAKER_02: You see, Philip, you can also take criticism a bit like that.
- 41:43SPEAKER_02: You don't have to be a bitch about it.
- 41:45SPEAKER_00: First time you've you first time you've ever took criticism well.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: Congratulations.
- 41:50SPEAKER_02: I uh I uh I I hate to be this vain, but I kind of disagree.
- 41:54SPEAKER_02: I think I I actually have a really good pass, and I think uh no fine.
- 41:59SPEAKER_02: What was it?
- 42:00SPEAKER_02: 84, 85?
- 42:01SPEAKER_02: No, 80, 86.
- 42:03SPEAKER_02: Fuck me.
- 42:04SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's yeah, that's really good.
- 42:05SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 42:06SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 42:08SPEAKER_02: Okay, you know what, Philip?
- 42:09SPEAKER_02: Thanks, Ops.
- 42:10SPEAKER_02: You know what, Philip?
- 42:11SPEAKER_02: I'll bring it to dribbling to get your mood a bit up.
- 42:14SPEAKER_02: Phil, you're shit at a lot of things.
- 42:17SPEAKER_02: No, I'm kidding.
- 42:18SPEAKER_02: I gave you a 94 for dribbling.
- 42:20SPEAKER_02: I think you're one of the best dribblers out there, and that's why I gave you a 66, now a 67 for your passing.
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: I don't want you to pass.
- 42:28SPEAKER_02: If you get the ball, you never lose it.
- 42:29SPEAKER_02: You have a really good uh left to right.
- 42:31SPEAKER_02: Uh, you can actually dribble.
- 42:33SPEAKER_02: I got a pretty high score on dribbling.
- 42:34SPEAKER_02: I don't think I'm a really good dribbler, I'm a good runner, I don't have to dribble.
- 42:39SPEAKER_02: Uh uh, you actually can drag a ball from left to right, right to left.
- 42:42SPEAKER_02: You eliminate people, you make people look like a fool.
- 42:45SPEAKER_02: Uh, you're a really good hockey Philip, you're really good blur.
- 42:48SPEAKER_02: We love you, you're really good.
- 42:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, really good.
- 42:51SPEAKER_02: Uh we give you a knife for like highest rating.
- 42:54SPEAKER_02: Uh I think anyone has gotten on something on the podcast.
- 42:58SPEAKER_02: So now you can stop being a bitch and just accept uh that we I do like you, but you you're just not a good passer.
- 43:05SPEAKER_02: What did you give Aubrey Phillip?
- 43:09SPEAKER_00: I gave him an 80.
- 43:19SPEAKER_00: I fucking hate I fucking hate these episodes.
- 43:22SPEAKER_01: Um this was your idea.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know.
- 43:26SPEAKER_00: No, it wasn't, it was all it was fucking you've idea.
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: I fucking love it.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: It was completely condescending prick then as well.
- 43:34SPEAKER_00: It wasn't even nice.
- 43:36SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 43:37SPEAKER_00: I gave you I gave you an 80 or make you a fucking 94.
- 43:41SPEAKER_00: I can I can't do well with you.
- 43:42SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm talking now.
- 43:47SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna up yours, I'm gonna up yours instantly, Orz, because I remembered that when we go into the corner, you're a friend of mine in the corner flag game.
- 43:56SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna instantly up you to a to an eighty three.
- 44:01SPEAKER_00: I think mine is insanely high, 94 is too high.
- 44:04SPEAKER_00: But I appreciate you.
- 44:05SPEAKER_00: But in terms of you being tight on the ball, being able to get out of tight situations, I think I think dribble.
- 44:11SPEAKER_00: You're basically turning out into this like all-rounder because I couldn't be horrible to you.
- 44:15SPEAKER_00: Like we always have the physicality with Yupe that all of them, apart from dribble for me, we have like Brendan just got absolutely annihilated for many things.
- 44:24SPEAKER_00: But Orbs, you're turning into very you're the wrong person to have here because you're good at all of these things, so it's quite difficult to really rip into you.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: So congratulations again.
- 44:35SPEAKER_00: It's a good score.
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: Well done on dribbling the ball quite well.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 44:39SPEAKER_01: I think um I think I probably should caveat the corner slightly because some of my teammates for OGs will remember that with a minute to go against What Ducks in the EHL where we were 2-1 up, I did take it to my own corner from a 16, uh, where I then got tackled and gave away a corner.
- 45:02SPEAKER_01: So I don't think you could be too kind, but yeah, thank you.
- 45:06SPEAKER_01: It's very kind of you.
- 45:08SPEAKER_01: You I uh I looked at your last score and funnily enough you already brought it up, but you you had an 83, and I would agree you if if running with the ball was the was the topic, then I think you'd go up.
- 45:24SPEAKER_01: Um but dribbling, I you know, I I yeah, I haven't seen too many of the the tight skills, not in terms of you don't use them, I just I can't remember them.
- 45:37SPEAKER_01: But I think I actually thought that dribbling was quite high, but when you look at the galloping, that's probably why it's there.
- 45:47SPEAKER_01: But so I I just knocked you down two points um to an 81 because I I felt like I needed some clarity, some clarification on what really what dribbling was, and I didn't want to go too drastic.
- 46:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I just dropped you a couple to 81.
- 46:05SPEAKER_00: The thing is, I would argue in Yupe's favor that galloping with the ball is is is uh is dribbling, but maybe I'm wrong.
- 46:14SPEAKER_02: That's how I just thought I just thought of like dribble, I thought of like uh like Indian uh Phil Roper, uh uh um like is like uh Nicholas Weller, is he like a good dribbler?
- 46:27SPEAKER_02: I don't think he's like the most technical guy, but he's really good at like running with the ball, if that makes sense.
- 46:33SPEAKER_02: I feel like uh so I'm I'm I think I'm more on Albrecht side.
- 46:37SPEAKER_02: I think I'm I'm good with like uh big space, running with the ball, uh limiting in big space.
- 46:43SPEAKER_02: If we play uh both even on like uh uh uh four scream meters, they catalogle aborts.
- 46:49SPEAKER_02: That was my logic behind it, and that's why I gave you 94, Philip.
- 46:54SPEAKER_02: Because you're you're amazing at small space hockey, you're a great dribbler, Phil.
- 47:00unknown: Thanks.
- 47:00SPEAKER_02: Really high rating.
- 47:01SPEAKER_02: Remember that.
- 47:02SPEAKER_00: Let's move it on, let's move it on to defense.
- 47:04SPEAKER_00: Good, thank you.
- 47:07SPEAKER_02: So again, high spawn dribbling Bill.
- 47:15SPEAKER_02: I gave you a 34.
- 47:20SPEAKER_02: What a girl.
- 47:30SPEAKER_02: It's a it's on the low side, Philip.
- 47:32SPEAKER_02: You're one of those players who wears a glove who I've never seen put their hand on the ground.
- 47:37SPEAKER_02: You're probably you're better than a 34.
- 47:39SPEAKER_02: You're probably around the around the 50 something.
- 47:42SPEAKER_02: Uh I just know you're coming at me for someone's coming at me for physicality, so I I thought so I kinda had to like put your something in.
- 47:50SPEAKER_02: Um, so I gave it a 34.
- 47:52SPEAKER_02: Do you agree with that or is is it is it again too low?
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 47:56SPEAKER_00: That's perfect.
- 47:57SPEAKER_00: That's just perfect.
- 47:58SPEAKER_00: I think you've nailed it.
- 48:00SPEAKER_00: And that's some clear.
- 48:04SPEAKER_00: Do you agree or yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah?
- 48:06SPEAKER_00: Perfect.
- 48:07SPEAKER_00: I think it's an excellent excellent summary of my defending.
- 48:11SPEAKER_01: Um don't take that.
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: Don't take that.
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: We've been working hard at defending.
- 48:15SPEAKER_01: Don't take that.
- 48:16SPEAKER_00: But he won't believe me.
- 48:17SPEAKER_01: He's I've seen you make three tackles.
- 48:22SPEAKER_01: My shout out to my dad.
- 48:24SPEAKER_01: He said in the last game of the season, he said you made three tackles.
- 48:28SPEAKER_01: And and he'd have been watching.
- 48:31SPEAKER_00: He actually came up to me and told me that, which I was like, I thought I don't know, because that is him being really nice to me, but at the same time, like me making three tackles shouldn't be that impressive to him, but it but it was, so yeah.
- 48:45SPEAKER_01: For a man with 34 defending, I think three tackles is really excellent.
- 48:49SPEAKER_00: Bloody good, yeah.
- 48:50SPEAKER_00: Um up at the 37.
- 48:53SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 48:54SPEAKER_00: Again, jumped up.
- 48:56SPEAKER_00: That's a win.
- 48:56SPEAKER_00: That's a win, right?
- 48:57SPEAKER_00: Orbs for your defending was was a tricky one because if we're talking about defending, you're quite good.
- 49:06SPEAKER_00: If we're talking about picking the ball around your body space, you're really good.
- 49:11SPEAKER_00: That's his like if you don't know Orbs' game inside out, you shouldn't expect you to.
- 49:17SPEAKER_00: His game is to dangle a reverse stick anywhere near his body, and normally the ball lands on it.
- 49:24SPEAKER_00: And therefore, that upped his defence right up.
- 49:27SPEAKER_00: Um from I would say like a like a high 70s, early 80s to an 86, just just for that reason.
- 49:35SPEAKER_00: That I really enjoy his style of defending.
- 49:37SPEAKER_00: Um, again, might be being quite kind to you, but I think the the I I like the way he plays hockey with his defence.
- 49:45SPEAKER_00: It's it's not left hand on the floor, it's more hand-eye and pick the ball.
- 49:53SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 49:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, the left hand has never been near the floor.
- 49:59SPEAKER_01: Against my lack of glove.
- 50:01SPEAKER_01: But maybe maybe that will be an addition soon.
- 50:04SPEAKER_01: We're in talks um about about the glove, so maybe that will be brought out at some point, but whether that's um you'll go.
- 50:17SPEAKER_00: You uh I'm just to let you know, if this above 50, I'm gonna lose my ship.
- 50:24SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 50:26SPEAKER_01: The defending too harsh here on the defending.
- 50:34SPEAKER_02: I gave it on low scores, which are very, very honest and rifle.
- 50:38SPEAKER_02: Like real friendship to just honest blunt honesty.
- 50:42SPEAKER_02: That's what I did.
- 50:43SPEAKER_02: I love you from the bottom of my heart, Philip, but this is just blunt honesty.
- 50:47SPEAKER_02: Go on.
- 50:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I defender.
- 50:50SPEAKER_01: I I gave you uh in fact, I I gave you an 84.
- 50:57SPEAKER_01: Um I thought you were you're you're a big unit, big block.
- 51:04SPEAKER_01: Um with that with that glove of yours.
- 51:07SPEAKER_01: Sorry, sorry.
- 51:09SPEAKER_00: Sorry, he's a big unit, he runs out number one the number one like he's a single chopstick.
- 51:16SPEAKER_00: Like you could you sorry, I lost myself for a second.
- 51:21SPEAKER_01: This is not a number one running category.
- 51:23SPEAKER_01: This is a defending category.
- 51:25SPEAKER_01: No, sorry.
- 51:26SPEAKER_01: If number one running was an option here, I could have given him a 26, but that was not a was not uh in the brief.
- 51:33SPEAKER_01: It just says defending.
- 51:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, sorry, sorry.
- 51:36SPEAKER_01: Um for a second.
- 51:41SPEAKER_01: As a lot of the Dutch defenders are now, a real expert in the the long barrier slash kicking it um outside of the circle, which is much better than kicking it inside the circle.
- 51:55SPEAKER_01: Um people can say that that's not good defending, but I I would disagree with them.
- 52:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's that's why it was that's why it was at that score of 84.
- 52:09SPEAKER_01: You also can't be too, you know, we can't be too damning here, Phil.
- 52:12SPEAKER_01: They've they've won quite a lot in the last few years, you know.
- 52:15SPEAKER_00: He was playing, so no, no, no, he was, he was.
- 52:19SPEAKER_01: Sometimes you've got to give credit where credit's due.
- 52:22SPEAKER_01: I know you're you're very much in the on the closet, as you like to say at the moment, but you can't just backlash for no reason.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: I'm on the building.
- 52:31SPEAKER_00: I'm happy, I'm happy.
- 52:32SPEAKER_00: It's okay.
- 52:33SPEAKER_00: I'm positive.
- 52:34SPEAKER_00: Let's keep going.
- 52:35SPEAKER_00: Physicality, it's about to get good.
- 52:37SPEAKER_00: Keep telling me, T-shirt.
- 52:38SPEAKER_02: So, Philip, you know what?
- 52:40SPEAKER_02: Physicality, uh, think uh uh know-how, but you have great bones.
- 52:46SPEAKER_02: Like, come on, let's be honest.
- 52:51SPEAKER_02: You're you're yeah, you're one of those guys you have uh right?
- 52:55SPEAKER_02: That's then you can say that, right?
- 52:56SPEAKER_02: Or not?
- 52:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you're decent, like you're you're okay.
- 53:00SPEAKER_02: So I gave you an 84.
- 53:02SPEAKER_02: You have good physicality, yeah.
- 53:04SPEAKER_02: You're like you're yeah, you're not easy to pick off the ball, you're like what yeah, right?
- 53:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm happy.
- 53:11SPEAKER_00: That's fine.
- 53:11SPEAKER_00: No, I'm still not happy.
- 53:12SPEAKER_00: No, I said I'm happy.
- 53:14SPEAKER_02: Higher?
- 53:14SPEAKER_02: No, no, no.
- 53:15SPEAKER_02: Okay, that's good.
- 53:16SPEAKER_02: Okay, finally happy.
- 53:18SPEAKER_02: In all fairness, I kind of upped it before we started talking because I thought you'd be on the closet again if I didn't.
- 53:23SPEAKER_02: So um, yeah.
- 53:25SPEAKER_00: No, I thought that was I thought that was too high, but I I thought you would be comp overcompensating for for for for you know thinking that I'm on the Empire Still building.
- 53:34SPEAKER_00: Right, physicality.
- 53:35SPEAKER_00: Um, James, um, I just I had to put something not in the 80s.
- 53:40SPEAKER_00: Um you're five foot two.
- 53:42SPEAKER_00: Go to 95.
- 53:47SPEAKER_00: You say five foot two.
- 53:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like you've got you've got you've got good power and and good legs, but again, just just because I'm bitter and and I and I had to score you down on something, I put this as a 78.
- 54:04SPEAKER_00: Um, just again, it's it's just yeah, I don't really have any good reasons for this one, so I'll I'll just I'll just leave it there.
- 54:13SPEAKER_00: I know you'll be disappointed with that one, but I needed you to be disappointed with one of them.
- 54:19SPEAKER_01: No, you've been very kind so far.
- 54:21SPEAKER_01: I think probably take that one on the chin.
- 54:24SPEAKER_01: Um now now the big reveal.
- 54:29SPEAKER_01: If if I'm a 78, um, I've got a few more numbers out there.
- 54:36SPEAKER_01: Uh you were gonna I I dropped your physicality uh the 72, and it was actually due to the moment that we spoke about earlier on at the start of the pod.
- 54:47SPEAKER_01: Um honestly I reckon there was such little contact, and you flew through the advertising, um which just shows you know there's there's not a lot um holding that figure of yours together.
- 55:04SPEAKER_01: So I thought 72 was was a nice number.
- 55:08SPEAKER_01: And and yeah, that was that was a lot of my reasoning behind it.
- 55:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well it seems 72.
- 55:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, 72.
- 55:19SPEAKER_02: Oh, I think that's okay.
- 55:20SPEAKER_02: I'll take that.
- 55:22SPEAKER_02: I'll take that, Philip.
- 55:24SPEAKER_02: 72.
- 55:25SPEAKER_00: What was it um last time?
- 55:28SPEAKER_00: 12.
- 55:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I thought it was 12 as well.
- 55:31SPEAKER_00: That's hell of it.
- 55:32SPEAKER_00: You've done bloody well in the gym, you but you got up 60 points.
- 55:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I looked at it earlier, it was 75.
- 55:39SPEAKER_01: Was it?
- 55:41SPEAKER_00: Brilliant.
- 55:42SPEAKER_00: Uh Brendan Brendan must have felt sorry for you and changed your score.
- 55:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 55:46SPEAKER_02: It wasn't BD 75.
- 55:48SPEAKER_02: It was a BD75.
- 55:52SPEAKER_00: Right, let's wrap this up.
- 55:53SPEAKER_00: We'll do our overall scores.
- 55:55SPEAKER_00: Um Orbs, I gave your overall as an 85.
- 56:00SPEAKER_00: I think uh again, back just I think I think that's where you fit in.
- 56:05SPEAKER_00: I I liked I like the number 85, it's a nice round number, shows shows your qualities.
- 56:13SPEAKER_01: We've changed the order here.
- 56:14SPEAKER_01: Shall I go next?
- 56:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you can do.
- 56:19SPEAKER_01: Uh you I I wrote down a few notes.
- 56:22SPEAKER_01: Uh as I said, great year for you last year, so the score overall has to go up.
- 56:29SPEAKER_01: Um, world player of the year nominated.
- 56:33SPEAKER_01: Uh, obviously a huge achievement, even though you did bully them into uh that nomination, but I have a lot of respect for that.
- 56:42SPEAKER_01: So um I I put you up to an 87, um which I think was the same school that you gave Bortle last time.
- 56:56SPEAKER_01: Um but admittedly that was two years ago, so maybe he would have gone up.
- 56:59SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 57:01SPEAKER_01: Nothing like that.
- 57:03SPEAKER_00: Will you?
- 57:04SPEAKER_00: Are you actually happy with that?
- 57:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you can tell honestly looking at his face here.
- 57:10SPEAKER_02: Last time I got an 85 from you, Philip, I think, or 84.
- 57:13SPEAKER_02: So I'm I'm quite happy with that.
- 57:15SPEAKER_00: I actually, if I'm honest, if I'm honest, then we're actually talking about proper FIFA cards.
- 57:19SPEAKER_00: I actually think that because of the year that you've had, it would have had to be like I would have put 88, 89 on it.
- 57:26SPEAKER_00: But maybe that's because I was being generous.
- 57:28SPEAKER_01: But so I I did have that thought as well, but then I'd actually went on and looked at the FIFA cards from this year, the actual FIFA cards, and the highest ranked defender in the game.
- 57:41SPEAKER_01: This is not those at play, not informs, you know, just the standard rate cards.
- 57:47SPEAKER_01: Defender is 88.
- 57:51SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 58:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, fine.
- 58:03SPEAKER_00: We we we need to go into more detail about how we score it, but it's more fun this way, isn't it?
- 58:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's more fun to base it on absolutely nothing and base it on like things you've saw four years ago.
- 58:14SPEAKER_02: That's what I love more about this.
- 58:15SPEAKER_02: That's why I love doing this.
- 58:17SPEAKER_02: Um, I guess I I I I I knew you were an 86 uh before, but I haven't seen you play in well.
- 58:25SPEAKER_02: Um, like I said, the hooky India League is not a fair representation.
- 58:30SPEAKER_02: Um I I I kind of was doubting between an 85 and an 84, but I also landed on an 85.
- 58:41SPEAKER_00: I I would argue that I am lower if we're informed, but again, I don't feel like you've seen me play in three years.
- 58:47SPEAKER_00: So I mean I would I would put myself a little bit low, but again, I appreciate it.
- 58:50SPEAKER_00: I hope you haven't just changed that picture.
- 58:52SPEAKER_02: Again, you know, you know, Phil, I can't I can't do right with you.
- 58:56SPEAKER_02: I I had an 84 and I thought, you know what, he's gonna think it's too low, so up it to an 85.
- 59:01SPEAKER_02: And you gave Albs an 85, and I thought, I think Albs is more informed than Philip at the moment, so leave it 84.
- 59:06SPEAKER_02: I don't want to piss him off again.
- 59:08SPEAKER_02: Let's do it 85, let's make it an 84, and we're all friends.
- 59:11SPEAKER_02: How about that?
- 59:12SPEAKER_02: That sounds good.
- 59:14SPEAKER_00: No, now you see now it was an 85 again.
- 59:18SPEAKER_00: Bro, I just said that sounds good.
- 59:20SPEAKER_00: Am I are you hearing me on this put?
- 59:22SPEAKER_00: We're we're really struggling here, right?
- 59:26SPEAKER_00: I think you're worried that I'm actually angry with him, which happens a lot.
- 59:30SPEAKER_00: We leave the podcast, he often messaged me being like, Are we still friends?
- 59:33SPEAKER_00: We are still friends.
- 59:34SPEAKER_00: I can say it to you right now.
- 59:36SPEAKER_00: We're still friends.
- 59:37SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna hold it against you that you gave me a terrible uh defending or whatever they were.
- 59:42SPEAKER_00: It's all good.
- 59:42SPEAKER_00: That was the FIFA cards.
- 59:44SPEAKER_00: We'll probably do an updated version if Brendan ever does any graphics for us, but I doubt he will.
- 59:49SPEAKER_00: He's left now, he's gone forever.
- 59:51SPEAKER_00: We don't know if he's ever coming back.
- 59:53SPEAKER_00: Um we are gonna take a short break one more time and then we're gonna come back with Orbs' last segment and finish up with a bit of excitement.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_00: We're back soon.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_00: We're back.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_00: Final episode.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_00: That was the FIFA cards, as you can tell.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_00: Very enjoyable.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_00: You're incredibly happy that we brought them back, and I assume there's probably gonna be more in the tank.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_00: But because we've got orbs, and orbs has been a has been an avid listener and a keen listener, he wanted to bring his own thing to the to the podcast.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_00: And so, orbs, without further ado, I'm just gonna I'm just gonna let you let you take it from here.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_01: Thanks very much.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, and I was chatting, well, for the listeners, I was chatting to Phil and uh maybe a little revamp of their favourite segment, um hit.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_01: It's similar but different.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_01: Um, and it comes from those of you that used to watch uh Top Gear back in the day.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_01: Um, they used to have the cool wall, and uh this was purely just whether things were cool or not.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_01: You had at one end sort of sub-zero ice cold, and at the other end, obviously uncool.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_01: Um, and they used to put cars, and the further along you were, the obviously the more cool it was.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_01: But um I thought because you're gonna have a few more uh guests on in the next few weeks, they could also bring their their hockey either cool or uncool things.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_01: But I said I'd throw some out there and you can obviously place them where you want to along the wall.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_00: So can you before we start, can you give us the actual categories about where they would sit?
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so in uh you've got there were sort of there were four categories.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_01: They had um sub-zero, cool, uncool, and seriously uncool, but that all seemed a bit far for me.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_01: So I've sort of renamed them as uh as ice cold or or sub-zero cool, sort of a fine category and and then an uncool category for things that are actually uncool.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_01: Um but to be honest with you, I was listening to a podcast the other day and they had a very similar thing.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_01: So don't do me for plagiarism.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_01: Um but I I have some things which I will throw at you now if you if you if you want to give it a give it a go.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_01: I thought I'd I'd warm us up, I'd warm us up with something really easy, just just so we get into the swing of things.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_01: And I brought out bear in mind, right?
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_01: So just to caveat this first of all, I think people should be able to bring whatever they want, stick brands, anything to do with hockey, you know, like no real uh just just hockey, or not hockey.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_02: Absolutely, both brands.
- 1:02:42SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes, now this is now this is evolving.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um, and also this is not a measure of whether it is useful or not, it's just if it's cool.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_01: Um so earlier, obviously, we were speaking about gloves.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_01: Gloves are essential parts of the game, everyone should be wearing one.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_01: Are they cool?
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't I wouldn't wanna I wouldn't want to take a stab at that one.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_01: I'm badly, badly positioned for that.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_00: But um why would you not want to?
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_00: I feel like maybe you should you've you've you've put in the first category.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_00: Let's go, where's it going?
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, no.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_01: I'm not I'm not doing that one.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_01: Someone else can take that one.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_00: I'll I'll start us off.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_00: It's they're fine.
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_00: They're fine.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they are fine, aren't they?
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_00: They're fine.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_00: They serve a purpose, but it's not exactly they're never good, they're never hitting the cool, are they?
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_00: Double can I just instantly say double glovers?
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_01: Uncool.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_00: Just seriously.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're off the other end of the chart.
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_01: Um, but that's nothing.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_02: There should be like one more category.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_02: So like uncool, there should be something that's like uncooler than uncool, if that makes sense.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_02: So uncool, I think like if you talk double glove, I think it doesn't really cover the cover the double glove.
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_02: There should be something under uncool.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_02: Don look bell.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_02: Just yeah, like like like like uh uh cold tea or something like that.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_02: Like it's you know what I like that cold tea, yes.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_01: That's where double glovers sit.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like really shit.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_00: Maybe we'll work on the we'll work on the categories.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:19SPEAKER_01: It's a work in progress, if you know not below the finished article.
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_02: Let's let's let's agree the double glove is below uncle, like under uncle, it's in the dungeon of uncle.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_02: Uh I think one one glove is like in between fine and right, yeah, yeah, and cool.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_02: And again, it's not about the usefulness, right?
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_02: Because it's everyone should wear it, but like it's more about is it cool or not?
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_02: Absolutely, absolutely.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_02: Um, I want to bring uh can I bring one one because on the like on the can I bring in uh wrist tape?
- 1:04:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, cool, like very unusual.
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_02: I think a lot of players who play with wrist tape are kind of cool.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_02: I think it looks quite nice, quite cool to be honest.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the Ronaldo wrist tape, which is being used for nothing, still in cool.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_01: Um David Ames wears double wrist tape, it has to be in cool, you know.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, um well the but uh but a sweatband on the other hand, I think was uncool to be honest.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_01: So I actually had this.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_01: This was one of my but it's not just I've gone a bit more specific with this one.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_01: I uh I was obviously watching the game at the weekend and I put in the Amsterdam sweatbands.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_01: So they're the I don't know if you saw them, Phil, they are they've got the three X's on them, a lot of the players are wearing them.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_01: I'd like to know your thoughts.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you but I assume I just thought for you 'cause I haven't seen them.
- 1:05:59SPEAKER_00: So I'm
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_01: struggling to i'm struggling to weigh in here like just the regular sweatband like the the the but the one uh uh offset is like it's a red black black and then with three white cross on it no i know i think it's all very yeah yeah you you i'm asking for your opinion oh i think it's uncool i'm i'm at i'm at uncool with that one i like i like the branding of like amsterdam and i think it's quite cool but i think i'm i'm a big no sweatband kind of guy i think it's it's there's no cool sweatband for me in my opinion i i sat in a very similar boat i don't like sweatbands i think they are uncool which alan if he's listening to this is really not gonna like but alan i'm sorry but the amsterdam ones are bringing them up a little bit of the scale because their their whole kit is is really nice and very cool so it sort of brought it out of for me it was like not quite in uncool not quite in fine just sort of on that line and um still I'll send you some photos I think you like that okay I'm gonna move on to the next one I don't want us to dwell too long the next one is stick bags so obviously very useful a lot of players these days you will see them carrying their sticks with sort of a duffel or a rucksack as opposed to the classic stick bag I'd like to know your thoughts I mean we've already done this and I think I think we're both gonna fairly agree on this I think they're uncool yeah me too I think they're way more useful than probably all of the other bags that we use but I'm not willing to use I'm not willing to use one couldn't agree more interesting I think they might be making a comeback but I'll leave that one with you you know what I think will make a comeback is the the stick bag which has like no room for your shoes or anything just for your two sticks in it and two sticks are already stretching it you know what I mean so yeah the one you put that is making a comeback I would like the pencil bag in golf I think that is making a the sunday carry bag of hockey is what we're talking about the McKenzie the McKenzie bag of the hockey world I think that goes in I'm gonna ask why one for one I think that's cool like yes Tom uh Chris if you are listening we want sunday bags just for the sticks maybe maybe you know a a water bottle pouch but but nothing else minimal I think that's already the one thing I want like when you that you like like like a velcro if velcro open there's like a little little little for your your mouth guard that's the only thing there's the recipe just I've got one for you um and it is small shin pads tiny little shimpads oh that's a really good one there there again it's not about usefulness because uh I think it's very uncool like uh very uh unuseful very cool though like small shim pads very cool especially when when you go to training and you walk like with two little like in W say D filter like uh the the the cluster you put under uh under a beer and you walk up with two those two things I think food bottles look so sick when they have like the two they're like like a hand they're not even that big and I think that's very matts very very cool yeah you've made orbs this day because orbs is a small shit he's a small shimpada he's living in the small shimpder stick them stick them as high as they go I have another one go on oh sorry you go you go no no no you go you go I'm I the okay the the cut off socks yeah like the cutting off the foot of the sock I I I think it has to go in cool I I'm not putting it any higher than that because so many people are doing it now um I also I I like the grippy socks but you know we're not talking about usefulness it's just whether it's cool or not and I think it looks good personally.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_01: We can't stress enough on how much it is about coolness and not by usefulness but if you are if you're thinking about it get your Y1 grip socks they're on the website now.
- 1:10:31SPEAKER_02: Hey congrats Ops you can you can definitely come back I mean I guess we should eventually bring the listeners in at some point in the series if you have any I'd like them to be writing in yeah you have any cool wall suggestions please just get in touch write in DM us but carry on let's have um let's have three or four I've got I've got yeah I've got three more um one of them's quite a small one I've got here again on appearance again uh tucking in your shirt okay so um if I can pitch in on this one I think uh it it depends a bit some guys can really make it cool some guys really make it uh like it also depends a bit on the height of your short if you wear your short a little lower I think it makes it a bit cooler I wouldn't put it in sub zero or anything I just would put it on the verge of like if you own it it's quite cool but I I I'm leaning more towards like it's a bit in between fine and cool for me.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_00: Could you name two people that one makes it look cool and one makes it doesn't is that acceptable or not is the who can think uh I think Dag Vilno makes it look quite cool.
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_02: Really that's it I think that it looks quite quite cool how he does it.
- 1:11:49SPEAKER_01: Uh and to be honest that's the only guy I know who doesn't talk so I have no clue this is where I was struggling because I can name you a few others that but everyone that does it I think it looks good which is why I was struggling with the rating of it.
- 1:12:07SPEAKER_01: Stu Rushmere is a a serial uh shirt tucker inner um Mick Park has been known to tuck his shirt in as well and I think they're doing well with it.
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_00: There were a few other examples that I found but I can't remember them now off the top of my head which is the first time you've ever complimented Parkey as well so congratulations Orbs I might have to send him this clip.
- 1:12:31SPEAKER_01: Oh mate I love that man but don't ever tell him here's one for you which is uh I don't know if you've seen this I can send them I can send some across but I keep seeing it on um Lars's Instagram Campong and a few other teams actually as well have started taking photos of the lads like sort of pre-game walking across the car park in their casual clothes for which obviously they will wear after the game but some really well taken photos it's almost reminded me of like you know like the NBA um sort of walkthroughs.
- 1:13:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah player tunnel yeah like the player tunnel uh and it's becoming it's slowly gaining some traction so I I'd like to know where you where you sit on that one.
- 1:13:24SPEAKER_02: So this is um this is tough for me because uh everything in my my core wants to say it's uncool want to say there are bust dicks uh who think they're in the uncool but because because of the quality of the pictures and the actually it uh I think it's in cool to be honest like I think it's it's quite a cool like a ready for game day like uh and everyone walks in and they're kind of the good thing about it is it looks very nonchalant like very uh very aloof very just easy going so um yeah the picture picture quality is really high so I think it's it's in cool can I zag?
- 1:14:06SPEAKER_02: Have you seen them film?
- 1:14:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah I want to zag I'm not I'm not in it yes I'm not in it it's not it's not like I I understand exactly what they're trying to do and I really like the idea of it but I think how it actually looks is not cool if I'm really honest it's like it's like they're trying so hard to do that it's like they've been told wear good wear goods clothes we're gonna take photos of you coming in and I just I wasn't I wasn't in on it I was like I really like it I like that someone got in a room was like make him walk in we'll take some cool photos but I'm like if I'm honest they're not cool they're not cool they're trying to be NBA players and they're not NBA players we're hockey players it don't work it's a good Zach it's a good Zack I yeah it's a good Zach I think they kind of they kind of pull it off to be honest and and that that comes from me who like hates every like all the other 11 teams in the whole cluster maybe I may yeah maybe I've seen the wrong ones but the ones I saw I was like not feeling it yeah I my feeling on it is I initially I was like I'm not sure about this and then the more I saw it I thought that is I'm really enjoying these I think as well the lads have obviously started to put a bit more into their outfits they're definitely starting to think about it they know that the camera's gonna be there I think I think at the moment I'm sticking it in cool like I'm liking it but I think it has potential I'd I'd like to see more teams start doing it I if it just you know it has the potential to go into the really cool category I like it for the I like it for the fact that they're trying to get in like do the content and make hockey cooler it's just I don't think they're there yet but fair enough I am going to cut you off orbs because this is this is absolutely we're gonna end episode nine of of let's sit together first of all orbs um thank you for for coming on for your effort for for for just being a general great guest on the podcast but also for bringing the cool wall to us which I think we're gonna thoroughly run with and uh and for your for your FIFA card rating of you hope you've enjoyed it.
- 1:16:17SPEAKER_02: Thanks very much having me it's been great um you look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks still I'll see you tomorrow we're we're we're getting that uh golf in 100% I wanna yeah I want to thank you because I think you did uh uh you're the first guest who actually brought in their own segment uh which I really appreciate uh like usually I'm the one who does all the work for the podcast so it's nice to see some love you did well uh I think I think and I speak for I think I speak for Phil myself and for listeners I think we should we should definitely have you back uh soon uh have you come in with uh some more updated uh uh input on the cool wall and uh maybe we can like do uh uh we can switch around the FIFA cards did you do Phil's card Phil does mine and I do yours 100% 100% look forward to it okay look forward to it it's been episode nine of Let's Sit Together we will catch you next time
