Latest / Stay Outta My Fridge / Can We Actually Tell Name Brand from Dollar General?
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Every team, every topic, everywhere. This is believed we name
- 0:08Speaker 1: brand food all the time, but can we actually tell
- 0:11Speaker 1: it apart from Dollar General's version? Today, we're gonna find
- 0:14Speaker 1: out who really knows food and who has been paying
- 0:18Speaker 1: extra for the logo to DG. We go, So we're
- 0:22Speaker 1: heading back to our favorite Dollar General and Holton. So
- 0:27Speaker 1: you say, dabbs, how do you say it? The GPS
- 0:33Speaker 1: says Weyvelton. Anyways, we're heading to the DG and Hulton
- 0:40Speaker 1: and we're gonna decide who's paying a little extra for
- 0:42Speaker 1: the logo, aren't we. Do you think that you're gonna
- 0:46Speaker 1: be able to tell the difference between name brand and
- 0:49Speaker 1: store brand? Do you think so? Pretty strong words? Now
- 0:54Speaker 1: do you think Isla and Meg and myself are gonna
- 0:57Speaker 1: be able to tell?
- 1:00Speaker 2: I think some things, Meg, there's no difference.
- 1:11Speaker 1: And anything, or just specifically one food.
- 1:14Speaker 2: In a couple of days different.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Now do you think that's just kind of like a
- 1:19Speaker 1: mom hack trying to get you to enjoy the cheaper option,
- 1:23Speaker 1: maybe a little gamesmanship from the life. I like it.
- 1:28Speaker 1: So what are we gonna do for foods today? We
- 1:31Speaker 1: we've discussed it backstage and I think we've got a plan, right.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Yeah, what are we going with Oreos.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Versus non brand chips?
- 1:43Speaker 2: No?
- 1:45Speaker 1: So we did decide we were gonna go with Oreos
- 1:47Speaker 1: and non brand, and I said, well, we debated chips ahoy,
- 1:50Speaker 1: but I was like, why do two cookies? So then
- 1:52Speaker 1: we're gonna do pop tarts. We're gonna pick a brand
- 1:54Speaker 1: of pop tart that has the same flavors versus non brand.
- 1:57Speaker 1: We're gonna do Cereal versus non brand. We're gonna do
- 2:01Speaker 1: protein bars as long as they have the same brands.
- 2:05Speaker 1: We're going to do Doritos versus a non brand. We're
- 2:10Speaker 1: going to do ice cream and peanut butter as a
- 2:14Speaker 1: potential backup plan just in case we're gonna explore, explore
- 2:20Speaker 1: the store. Let's put that on a tea shirt. Huh.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Let's explore the store. All right, let's get to the
- 2:25Speaker 1: Store'll roll some butta to DG we go. Here is
- 2:30Speaker 1: our trip, and this just shows you how remote we
- 2:33Speaker 1: really are. It's about a what eat minute drive just
- 2:36Speaker 1: to get to a Dollar General, which most of the
- 2:38Speaker 1: time within eight minutes, and other places there's about twenty
- 2:41Speaker 1: that's a Dollar Generals in eight minutes. So we're gonna
- 2:44Speaker 1: show our back roads trip. We're gonna get to the store,
- 2:48Speaker 1: show you what we get. We don't have to cook
- 2:50Speaker 1: anything this time doing. We just get to sit down
- 2:53Speaker 1: and it is gonna be a blind taste test. So
- 2:55Speaker 1: you guys are put on your fancy little masks because
- 2:57Speaker 1: there is gonna be a different visual. Yeah right, all right,
- 3:01Speaker 1: So we'll get to the store, will show that, and
- 3:02Speaker 1: then we'll jump into the kitchen studio and we'll discuss. Obviously,
- 3:09Speaker 1: we'll make our predictions and then we'll reveal the costs
- 3:11Speaker 1: and all that stuff and we'll see if it's actually
- 3:13Speaker 1: worth the money or not. I'm good, DG. We go
- 3:16Speaker 1: right about when we just left the DG, didn't we.
- 4:15Speaker 1: We had to do a little bit of some audibles,
- 4:18Speaker 1: didn't we, and the old hu Hut playing something different.
- 4:21Speaker 1: The original goal was Dorito's in a non brand. They
- 4:25Speaker 1: didn't have the non brand. So what did we end
- 4:27Speaker 1: up with? Kran Goles? You have a Prangles sour cream addition,
- 4:34Speaker 1: so we got the name brand Ringos. Do you remember
- 4:36Speaker 1: the non brand or the Clover Valley or they something over?
- 4:40Speaker 1: She thinks there Clover Valley. We don't know, but either
- 4:43Speaker 1: way we're gonna get into that, and we did get
- 4:45Speaker 1: the Ooreos. We didn't find maybe your goat to brand
- 4:51Speaker 1: of pop tart, but we ended up with strawberry, which
- 4:56Speaker 1: you've been thinking lately. Put a little butter on it. Okay,
- 5:01Speaker 1: put a little butter on them pop pars. You gotta
- 5:03Speaker 1: put it not on the prostc side, you gotta put
- 5:05Speaker 1: it on the under second. Anyways, we want some lucky charms,
- 5:08Speaker 1: some non brand lucky charms. We probably should have picked up.
- 5:15Speaker 1: It's gonna be hard to eat cereal without wealth. We're
- 5:17Speaker 1: gonna have to do a dry run. Anyways. We also
- 5:23Speaker 1: went with instead of crackers, we went with the cheese
- 5:28Speaker 1: and we went to Jesus and the non brand cheese its.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I wanted to go name brand, either Eddies or Buyers
- 5:35Speaker 1: ice cream and Clover Valley ice cream. Avery wasn't feeling it.
- 5:40Speaker 1: It was the last thing we went with. Just said
- 5:46Speaker 1: that you're clearly working. Attention springles Oreos, cereal pop hurts,
- 5:53Speaker 1: cheese its and remember protein bars, granola bars. Yeah, there
- 6:05Speaker 1: it is. So we went with the Clover Valley grain
- 6:09Speaker 1: or something, and you called this the OJE chewies ry
- 6:11Speaker 1: that we want with a strawberry. Would you go with it?
- 6:17Speaker 1: Thanks you Neutra Grain bars. We wanted to do the
- 6:20Speaker 1: protein with either the Nature Valley or something, but they
- 6:23Speaker 1: didn't have the same kind of brand, So we're gonna
- 6:27Speaker 1: go in. We're gonna test taste them blindly. Should we
- 6:31Speaker 1: get back to the kitchen studio and get set up,
- 6:34Speaker 1: let's do with the thing. Hey, we'll see you at
- 6:36Speaker 1: the kitchen studio everybody, Bye bye. Would you look at that?
- 6:40Speaker 1: We are back from Dollar General with six name brand
- 6:44Speaker 1: foods and six cheaper versions, and today we're gonna find
- 6:46Speaker 1: out who actually knows their food and who has been
- 6:49Speaker 1: paying extra for a little bit of a logo. We
- 6:52Speaker 1: have a special guest here in the Beard Lost Kitchen studio.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Step up right over to Avery's Mike. Evan is here
- 6:59Speaker 1: from the King episode What's up to Awesome? Your shirt
- 7:03Speaker 1: is super bright, probably way brighter than you are, right burn.
- 7:07Speaker 1: So Evan is gonna be the food Master? Is that
- 7:10Speaker 1: a cool title for the episode?
- 7:12Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 7:12Speaker 1: You anything better? All right? FM like the radio station
- 7:16Speaker 1: the food Master. So his goal, his role today is
- 7:20Speaker 1: he is going to hand us our stuff when we
- 7:23Speaker 1: are blindfolded. I will not be blindfolded I'm on camera.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I have buttons depressed, but I will close my eyes.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I'm on camera, so I will not be cheating. Where
- 7:31Speaker 1: meg Aila and Avery are gonna be blindfolded, two of
- 7:34Speaker 1: them already are for whatever reason. And today for the
- 7:38Speaker 1: video watchers and subscribers and everything like that, we have
- 7:42Speaker 1: a dry erase board. Evan is gonna update it every
- 7:44Speaker 1: time we get one right. We're gonna put a mark
- 7:46Speaker 1: every time we guess whether it's name brand or non brand.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Every time there is a guest, we're gonna put it
- 7:51Speaker 1: down there. We're gonna see who wins name brand or
- 7:55Speaker 1: non brand. Ladies, are you excited for this one or no?
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yes?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yes, pretty excited. That's the one time they agree on something,
- 8:04Speaker 1: so that's cool. Again, we've already told you in the
- 8:07Speaker 1: intro what we bought, what we're gonna do. I mean,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I feel like we just jump into this and we
- 8:13Speaker 1: have some fun with it. Are we ready, food Master?
- 8:16Speaker 1: Are you ready before we do? Blindfold up? Ladies? Blindfold up?
- 8:20Speaker 1: Blindfold up, blindfold up down? Well down? Sorry, yes, so
- 8:23Speaker 1: you can't see sorry my bad blindfold up? Like ruh.
- 8:26Speaker 1: There is a little bit of a trophy that we
- 8:28Speaker 1: are playing for and Evan is going to put it
- 8:31Speaker 1: all together real quick. It's right over there, right on
- 8:34Speaker 1: the ice machine. Evan is going to do this and
- 8:38Speaker 1: just real, real quick. He's gonna make some noise. Does
- 8:40Speaker 1: anybody have any guesses what he is doing? Right now?
- 8:42Speaker 1: You're blindfolded.
- 8:42Speaker 5: You can only hear making something out of tinfoil.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Oh yes, I heard tinfoil.
- 8:49Speaker 3: He's gonna make a nice He is making a trophy
- 8:53Speaker 3: as we He is sculping and making a trophy. He
- 8:57Speaker 3: looks super excited and weed it out as soon as
- 9:01Speaker 3: you deem it.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Good, well good. If you want to put any more
- 9:04Speaker 1: on or any less, you're the food master, you're in charge.
- 9:07Speaker 1: We're going for some more. I like it. There's gonna
- 9:09Speaker 1: be more on. Get it, I said, moron, It's like,
- 9:12Speaker 1: where is it? It's under there, underwear, she said, underwear.
- 9:20Speaker 1: We're we have the trophy, Evan. You want to bring
- 9:22Speaker 1: it over and you want to present it, because if
- 9:23Speaker 1: you want to present it, that is fine. Here's the camera.
- 9:26Speaker 1: This is what it looks like. You can come right
- 9:27Speaker 1: over here if you want to show it. Look at this.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Does it have a name? No name? But ladies, go ahead,
- 9:36Speaker 1: tick the blind blindfold up so you can see. We
- 9:39Speaker 1: aren't just playing to see who's better. We're playing for
- 9:43Speaker 1: this the super special he called it. I was thinking
- 9:48Speaker 1: the golden spatula, the silver spatula. I don't know. We'll
- 9:51Speaker 1: come up with a better name, or if anybody has one,
- 9:54Speaker 1: let us know. This is pretty cool, right, Yeah. I
- 9:56Speaker 1: will probably need it back at some point, but I
- 9:59Speaker 1: like how we get like taped it up like a
- 10:01Speaker 1: hockey stick so that way it can be used. It
- 10:03Speaker 1: actually is a really good grip. The supreme keeper of the
- 10:06Speaker 1: fridge right here. We'll pass it around so you guys
- 10:09Speaker 1: can get a little you guys can get a little up.
- 10:11Speaker 4: The fine flapper, the.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Flying, the fine flap, I mean flying. It's pretty cool, right,
- 10:19Speaker 1: I mean, everybody's gonna want this, but only one of
- 10:22Speaker 1: us can have this, the winner. All Right, we ready
- 10:26Speaker 1: to jump into this. Yes, I'm assuming that's a yes.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Nobody's saying that. All right, put the blindfolds back down.
- 10:32Speaker 1: We are starting the challenge. Who is gonna be better
- 10:36Speaker 1: name brand or not? Evan. When you are ready, we
- 10:40Speaker 1: are going to be starting round one. We are going
- 10:43Speaker 1: to be doing the nutri grain bars. We are gonna
- 10:46Speaker 1: be doing the nutri grain bars. Evan's gonna present them.
- 10:48Speaker 1: I'm blind without my glasses thereof I'm gonna put this
- 10:51Speaker 1: hat down and my eyes are closed. I'm on camera.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I will not cheat. And then once we try them,
- 10:58Speaker 1: we are going to guess. Evan's gonna go around and
- 11:00Speaker 1: we're gonna tell him which ones we like best. Even
- 11:03Speaker 1: if somebody wants to do A B first, however you
- 11:05Speaker 1: want to do it, Evan, if you want to, Hey,
- 11:07Speaker 1: this is A, this is B bang bang, go parsent
- 11:10Speaker 1: them to everybody else and then go back to the
- 11:13Speaker 1: first person. That's fine, and then we we'll get the guesses.
- 11:16Speaker 1: He'll put them on the dry race Boord. So okay,
- 11:19Speaker 1: why don't you give a uh. Once you give every
- 11:21Speaker 1: A and B so that way she can try him.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Then you'll go ISLA A M B, then meg A
- 11:25Speaker 1: and B, me A M B, and while they're trying
- 11:27Speaker 1: they can they can talk. Okay, Avery, you already get
- 11:31Speaker 1: into A and B. Yeah, go ahead, you already get
- 11:35Speaker 1: into A and B A B.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, I tried them, so.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I think I know which one do you like better.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Tell Evan your answer.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Where are you?
- 11:48Speaker 1: What are you guys thinking, man, I don't know. If
- 11:50Speaker 1: don't somebody, we don't say the load because then I
- 11:55Speaker 1: was just gonna copy you.
- 11:56Speaker 4: No, I don't know.
- 11:58Speaker 1: All right, did you go rouv? You already told Eila?
- 12:02Speaker 1: All right, Meg, tell him you already said it out
- 12:04Speaker 1: loud to everybody. So I have no idea that was
- 12:07Speaker 1: a B. I like B better, So I'm gonna say
- 12:11Speaker 1: B is the name brand. You guys already have your
- 12:13Speaker 1: answers in so I can say mine out loud, all right, Evan?
- 12:18Speaker 1: Is everybody good? Can we can we blindfold up? Like
- 12:21Speaker 1: take them off?
- 12:22Speaker 4: All right?
- 12:23Speaker 1: One of the results, Meg and Ila for non brand,
- 12:28Speaker 1: for the brand? Which one was the brand? Which one
- 12:32Speaker 1: was the name brand? So you guessed A, you guess B.
- 12:35Speaker 2: I guessed A. What I did not? I promise you
- 12:41Speaker 2: I said A is on brand and B is knockoff.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Okay, a little controversy. So Avery got it as well.
- 12:49Speaker 1: I was the only one that got it. So name
- 12:54Speaker 1: brand one. Round one scores our Isla, Avery Meg one.
- 12:59Speaker 1: I am all right. We ready for round two. Any
- 13:03Speaker 1: questions before we get into this, okay? So Evan's gonna
- 13:07Speaker 1: hand A and B to Avery. A and B to Ailah,
- 13:10Speaker 1: to Meg to me. Then after he hands it out,
- 13:12Speaker 1: he'll go to Avery, Isla, Meg, and me and get
- 13:15Speaker 1: their answers. So we are going to do cheese. Its
- 13:18Speaker 1: which one was there? And while he's grabbing the cheese,
- 13:21Speaker 1: it's which one did you actually like better from the
- 13:25Speaker 1: first one? Which one did you guys actually like the.
- 13:28Speaker 5: Second one that he put in my hand?
- 13:30Speaker 3: Bee?
- 13:31Speaker 2: Yes?
- 13:31Speaker 1: So B, so you liked be better? Yeah, but you
- 13:35Speaker 1: guessed A only because your mom said it out loud.
- 13:37Speaker 1: No guarantee it guarantee that I didn't guess A.
- 13:41Speaker 5: That's what I said.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I guessed.
- 13:43Speaker 1: So you got it wrong. Yeah, I got it wrong, Okay.
- 13:46Speaker 5: And I was trying to say that, okay, on our.
- 13:48Speaker 1: System, I like it. I like it. I like to
- 13:50Speaker 1: be better Avery, just please try not to choose. This
- 13:55Speaker 1: is not an as MR channel. So right there, you
- 13:59Speaker 1: got it all right. We're handing him out, Evans saying
- 14:01Speaker 1: A and B make sure you guys try and if
- 14:04Speaker 1: you end up needing another one, tough. And I'm just kidding.
- 14:07Speaker 1: If you end up needing another one and it's that difficult,
- 14:10Speaker 1: I feel like Evan could accommodate that two of each, Okay,
- 14:14Speaker 1: so he's gonna be doing that. Okay, so everybody has him.
- 14:18Speaker 1: So he's gonna give me A and B go A here. Okay,
- 14:24Speaker 1: it's the Canadian version B, A and B, A and B.
- 14:27Speaker 1: All right. So Evan has passed him out. He's gonna
- 14:30Speaker 1: go over to Avery. She's not gonna whisker her in
- 14:31Speaker 1: the mic because I am wearing headsets just to make
- 14:33Speaker 1: sure we're there. I'm gonna take the headsets off so
- 14:36Speaker 1: I can't hear anything. All right, A and B and
- 14:40Speaker 1: Aila and Meg, you guys can have a conversation on
- 14:42Speaker 1: the mic. Well, I'm chewing, so we keep this flowing
- 14:44Speaker 1: a little bit, all right.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I put in my vote, and I think I'm right.
- 14:48Speaker 4: So I when going back to the new spray marks,
- 14:50Speaker 4: I liked a better. It wasn't as sweet, and it
- 14:53Speaker 4: was a little thicker of a crust, like a more
- 14:57Speaker 4: crumbly crust.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why I liked it, but took.
- 15:00Speaker 4: It wasn't quite as sweet.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I think I'm locked in on my cheese at guests.
- 15:03Speaker 1: All right, all right, these are good. Yeah, Avery, you've
- 15:06Speaker 1: already tried and you've already locked in your answer. Is
- 15:08Speaker 1: there one? Don't say which one, But is there one?
- 15:10Speaker 1: In your eyes?
- 15:11Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 15:11Speaker 4: That are better?
- 15:12Speaker 1: Yes, Meg, he's tapping over there.
- 15:14Speaker 4: You can he didn't touch me. I didn't know.
- 15:16Speaker 1: No lock in your answer. So you think you know
- 15:19Speaker 1: the answer? Ams, you're pretty confident, you.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Know, yeah, because one has a different flavor that I
- 15:23Speaker 2: haven't had a lot.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Got you isla? What do you think? Are you confident
- 15:26Speaker 1: in your answer?
- 15:27Speaker 5: Yeah? I have something to say after the ones everybody votes?
- 15:31Speaker 1: Okay, all right, everybody has voted.
- 15:34Speaker 5: I think for a cheaper price. I don't think what
- 15:38Speaker 5: I think was the off brand one?
- 15:41Speaker 1: Was that different from would you guess?
- 15:43Speaker 5: I guessed? I think A is the real one. N
- 15:45Speaker 5: MB is the off brand?
- 15:46Speaker 1: Okay, what did you guess? Make? You can even take
- 15:48Speaker 1: the blind pulled off if you'd like. Would you go, WHOA?
- 15:52Speaker 1: I can see clearly?
- 15:53Speaker 4: Right?
- 15:54Speaker 1: Are we talking about evan shirt or the light?
- 15:57Speaker 4: I think A for sure, because I know my cheese.
- 16:00Speaker 4: It's and that's one of those Oh so one of
- 16:03Speaker 4: those products.
- 16:04Speaker 2: It's are way more salty because you can actually see
- 16:06Speaker 2: the salt on.
- 16:07Speaker 1: You choose it, feel free whenever you do want it.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Just talk right into the mic. So would you where
- 16:10Speaker 1: were you saying? They probably didn't hear you, so just
- 16:11Speaker 1: step right up to Avery's Mike.
- 16:13Speaker 2: I said that I think you could tell the difference
- 16:15Speaker 2: between cheese It and the off brand because the cheese
- 16:18Speaker 2: It looked like they had more salt.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Right, which we couldn't see, thankfully, but I felt there
- 16:23Speaker 1: was definite taste difference.
- 16:25Speaker 4: It's a texture thing for me.
- 16:26Speaker 1: I probably, So what was the correct answer? Food master
- 16:30Speaker 1: A was the right one? Did everybody get it?
- 16:32Speaker 4: Yeah, that's one of those products that I have to
- 16:35Speaker 4: go name Brandon. I've tried a lot.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Of not ketchup. Hmmm, do you go? Do you go?
- 16:39Speaker 1: Name brand ketchup? Can you tell difference in ketchup? Are
- 16:41Speaker 1: you not a ketchup guy? Food master key, he's not
- 16:44Speaker 1: got it in the lead, as you can see here
- 16:46Speaker 1: on the board for but for anybody that's just listening, Evan,
- 16:48Speaker 1: you can start prepping. Round three. Round three is gonna
- 16:51Speaker 1: be poop tarts. I mean pop tarts. We're gonna go
- 16:53Speaker 1: pop tarts. So Mega's two. Avery is two, Island and
- 16:57Speaker 1: myself are one. The name brand is two for two.
- 17:00Speaker 1: They haven't got it wrong. So all right, we are
- 17:02Speaker 1: blindfolded up. We're gonna go with the pop tarts. They
- 17:04Speaker 1: are both Strawberry. One is the actual brand and one
- 17:08Speaker 1: I believe is the Clover Valley, which is the Dollar
- 17:10Speaker 1: General brand. This one might be a little buffer, but
- 17:14Speaker 1: might not. So what we did is we and by we,
- 17:16Speaker 1: the kids. They took the pop tarts, they cut them
- 17:19Speaker 1: up into little chunks. Again, we're getting amb We're gonna
- 17:22Speaker 1: go right in for them. Avery, you've already kind of
- 17:26Speaker 1: don't tell us your answer, but are you in? Do
- 17:30Speaker 1: you do you know the difference already? Or is it
- 17:32Speaker 1: very hard?
- 17:33Speaker 2: I don't know. My micro is it's kind of hard.
- 17:35Speaker 2: That kind of is really alike.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Okay, okay, what do you isla? Don't sell your answer,
- 17:40Speaker 1: but you're having a hard time or easy I'm hoping.
- 17:43Speaker 1: I think I just did I get just the end
- 17:45Speaker 1: of one that I got what I got. I was
- 17:49Speaker 1: just curious, you guys, if you know the answers, Avery, electors,
- 17:52Speaker 1: I'm just going to need a second, you guys talk.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Don't give away the answers.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I think one of them is the name brand is
- 17:58Speaker 2: more obvious a little, but they're very like. I just
- 18:02Speaker 2: think there's one thing that makes it seem like the
- 18:05Speaker 2: name brand more than fake.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna the flash budge.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Yeah, only one giveaway.
- 18:11Speaker 4: I feel confident I gave it.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Away at the beginning.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I got my answer. I'm gonna say it out loud.
- 18:17Speaker 1: You guys all locked in. I feel like I only
- 18:22Speaker 1: got the crust part on one, so I'm gonna go
- 18:24Speaker 1: the other one because I tasted fruit. Did you hear Max?
- 18:27Speaker 4: What did you fear? What I said?
- 18:30Speaker 1: I'm going with? B is the name brand. B is
- 18:33Speaker 1: the name brand in my opinion? All right, we all
- 18:36Speaker 1: got answers. Did what'd you guys say? Would you say
- 18:38Speaker 1: I said B was the name brand?
- 18:40Speaker 5: I said was the name brand?
- 18:42Speaker 4: I said B?
- 18:43Speaker 1: And I said B? Did we all get it? Right? Around?
- 18:48Speaker 4: The texture thing?
- 18:50Speaker 1: Name brand is three in avery. If you need to
- 18:53Speaker 1: jump up and grab something to rinse your palette, feel
- 18:55Speaker 1: free to do that. We're at the halfway point the
- 18:58Speaker 1: the next round is going to be cereal. We rush
- 19:00Speaker 1: in the paletts. So all right, this one, this one
- 19:03Speaker 1: you think he can put into the hands of A
- 19:05Speaker 1: and B. All right, and we'll go for it. The text, Okay,
- 19:08Speaker 1: we'll try it out. Let's see, let's see what wins here.
- 19:11Speaker 1: A and B. We're gonna do cereal. It is Lucky Charms,
- 19:14Speaker 1: and I believe it's Clover Valley. Evan, what's the name
- 19:17Speaker 1: of the actual cereal on the box? Lucky Charms obviously
- 19:21Speaker 1: the other one movie Lucky Charms and.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Called Marshmallow Treasures.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Marshmallow Treasures, Lucky Charms. Again, we are trying the cereal dry.
- 19:30Speaker 1: We're not gonna just have Evan go through and fill
- 19:33Speaker 1: up four different, well several different bowls. That would be
- 19:37Speaker 1: interesting if you put them all mixed together with milk,
- 19:40Speaker 1: if you could taste the difference off on eating them
- 19:42Speaker 1: with a spoon. Do you think you could tell Meg
- 19:45Speaker 1: mix a spoon apo, like if they were all in
- 19:48Speaker 1: the same bowl with milk.
- 19:50Speaker 4: I don't know. I think I could tell.
- 19:52Speaker 1: You could tell. She can't toe. It's probably because your
- 19:55Speaker 1: sense of taste is so much better, because you're losing
- 19:57Speaker 1: your sense of hearing, because she's all you've already tried.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I'm feeling confident.
- 20:03Speaker 2: No, they taste the same, friend like, this is gonna
- 20:08Speaker 2: be probably the first one I get wrong.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Okay, a m B A m B going in. No,
- 20:13Speaker 1: I don't know. Interesting, that is interesting.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought they had very very similar taste.
- 20:20Speaker 1: They they're very similar. One popped a little.
- 20:23Speaker 2: I took a fifty to fifty.
- 20:24Speaker 1: I guess, Meg, you can say yours out loud. I
- 20:26Speaker 1: am locked in with My answer?
- 20:27Speaker 4: Is everybody else locked in?
- 20:29Speaker 1: Did you? Did you already tell?
- 20:30Speaker 4: Even?
- 20:32Speaker 1: All right? Everybody's locked in? Avery? Would you say? I'm
- 20:34Speaker 1: gonna go with an?
- 20:37Speaker 2: I got it right?
- 20:39Speaker 1: You guys all think me? What made you all so confident?
- 20:43Speaker 2: I forgot confident.
- 20:45Speaker 4: The actual cereal piece was different the marshmallow. Marshmallows are
- 20:49Speaker 4: about the same.
- 20:51Speaker 1: See what threw me off is one marshmallow was bigger
- 20:55Speaker 1: than the other, and the taste was at different. And
- 20:57Speaker 1: I just went when I thought when I threw b
- 21:00Speaker 1: in my mouth and I bunched it crunched into there,
- 21:02Speaker 1: I thought the taste was a little bit different, maybe
- 21:04Speaker 1: slightly better with me. But I was thinking they were
- 21:06Speaker 1: bigger because anytime I've had cheap cereal, this is the off.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Brand, the normal cereal, the normal cereal. The off brand
- 21:16Speaker 2: is way thicker than the other one.
- 21:18Speaker 4: I noticed.
- 21:18Speaker 1: So the lucky the Lucky charmes is thicker. That's what
- 21:22Speaker 1: I thought. So the marshmallow that I ate, it threw
- 21:26Speaker 1: me off. I thought it was gonna be the non brand.
- 21:29Speaker 1: That's what made me lock in.
- 21:30Speaker 2: I said be because I don't know. I just I said,
- 21:37Speaker 2: b I nice?
- 21:38Speaker 1: What made you go bel?
- 21:39Speaker 5: I say that when I put the off brand one in,
- 21:45Speaker 5: like the actual cereal in my mouth, it felt stale,
- 21:49Speaker 5: like it did the taste, like the crunch, It was
- 21:52Speaker 5: like it felt like it was stale.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Do you agree, Evan? Does it feel a little stale? Now?
- 21:57Speaker 4: It's just puffier. The actual cereal part is off here
- 22:00Speaker 4: where the name brand is a little more dense and
- 22:03Speaker 4: the sugar coating is a little.
- 22:05Speaker 1: So which ones did you guys like better and taste
- 22:07Speaker 1: non brand or brand brand.
- 22:11Speaker 4: The same? It's just they felt different.
- 22:13Speaker 1: So going forward we can maybe get marshmallow treasures or
- 22:16Speaker 1: something ice. So next we are going to do the pringles.
- 22:20Speaker 1: We're going pringles. This will be interesting. Blindfold up, We're
- 22:24Speaker 1: doing pringles. Let's see who wins. Let's see if the
- 22:28Speaker 1: non brand can beat the brand, because we're a name
- 22:32Speaker 1: brand has won every single one so far, and it's
- 22:35Speaker 1: it's becoming very obvious that I am not as good
- 22:38Speaker 1: at this as the girls are. So let me freshen
- 22:40Speaker 1: my palate and we'll get into this. Hey, I keep
- 22:43Speaker 1: thinking he's Canadian. Aves how you doing over there? It
- 22:48Speaker 1: hates the same, it tastes the same. But then I'm
- 22:50Speaker 1: going to get it right because I think you're you're
- 22:53Speaker 1: batting a thousand right now, A and B A B
- 22:58Speaker 1: A favor.
- 22:59Speaker 4: I was expect your original.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Oh yes, no, sorry, we went sour cream.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Okay, okay, there is a slight difference that I haven't
- 23:06Speaker 2: had the non brand ones at all, but I've had
- 23:08Speaker 2: the Pringles and there was one thing that stood out
- 23:12Speaker 2: that made me think that blank was that.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Don't give it away? Did you lock in your answer yet?
- 23:18Speaker 4: No?
- 23:19Speaker 1: All right, are you confident that you can?
- 23:21Speaker 4: Yes? All right?
- 23:23Speaker 1: God my initial instinct, I think I got it, But
- 23:26Speaker 1: now I'm second and guessing myself.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I second guessed myself too. But like they're like that.
- 23:30Speaker 1: One taste wise, they're almost the same exact taste in
- 23:33Speaker 1: my opinion.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought they were the same taste too, But
- 23:38Speaker 2: there was one thing that gave it away from me.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I have my answer in you guys can blindfold there.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna say the name brand was B.
- 23:47Speaker 2: I went I went with a A because what that
- 23:52Speaker 2: name brand Pringles have this taste. The aftertaste on the
- 23:57Speaker 2: name brand is like sweeter than the one on the
- 24:00Speaker 2: other one.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Can you not tell me that B was a thicker,
- 24:03Speaker 1: better frenchier chip. Their size difference way unless he gave
- 24:09Speaker 1: me two.
- 24:09Speaker 4: I got a half. I got a broken one. So
- 24:12Speaker 4: bring them.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Over you real quick, those Pringles, real quickly.
- 24:14Speaker 4: I know that Pringles though, have that light airy because I'm.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Pretty sure that this did you try him? Do you
- 24:21Speaker 1: like sour cream? Close your eyes? Let me mix them up.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Let's see that's the food here. Okay, this is let
- 24:28Speaker 1: me open the Pringles. Let's see if the food masters
- 24:31Speaker 1: all right, this is A. Okay, this is B, and
- 24:36Speaker 1: tell me that one isn't thicker than the other and
- 24:39Speaker 1: the base on the taste you can look. I mean
- 24:41Speaker 1: I mixed up the Kansas in the chick. So if
- 24:45Speaker 1: you're closing your eyes, can you tell the difference? Because
- 24:47Speaker 1: I'm telling you, do you guys agree that chip B?
- 24:51Speaker 1: I mean what I did? I mixed them up? So
- 24:56Speaker 1: what was the right answer? Us? A? No, A the
- 25:00Speaker 1: right answer, friends, So B was the right B. With Springles, they're.
- 25:03Speaker 2: A stronger taste like the pringles. Pringles have a stronger taste.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Thicker by far thicker chip then the crunchy in texture wise,
- 25:15Speaker 1: like look at they're much thinner. The Pringles are much thinner,
- 25:19Speaker 1: Like they're a thicker chick.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I like Brenton.
- 25:23Speaker 1: No Pringles does say bursting with flavor? Do I think
- 25:27Speaker 1: the flavor was good? Absolutely? Know what I love about
- 25:29Speaker 1: this video? All you YouTubers. Look at these dogs back here,
- 25:32Speaker 1: they're like they're taste of food with all those that's verned.
- 25:35Speaker 1: That's biggie. Where's our scores at? So right now I
- 25:39Speaker 1: am at two megas have five? Bevers have five? I
- 25:41Speaker 1: was at four. Name Brand has won every single one.
- 25:46Speaker 1: All right, we need you guys to hurry up and
- 25:48Speaker 1: blindfold up because he's getting into the oreo round and yeah,
- 25:51Speaker 1: do you need help? Then you might just have to
- 25:53Speaker 1: open them like like a normal bag from the bottom.
- 25:55Speaker 4: Just prooves that we're like foodies.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I mean, it just proves to me that I was
- 26:01Speaker 1: grown up on cheap stuff name brand and that was
- 26:04Speaker 1: that was a blindfold up. No more cook no more chips.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Isle of Cookies are coming here we go.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Honey, I eat cheat stuff all the time.
- 26:10Speaker 1: To this one, this one I need and we have
- 26:14Speaker 1: to do our best to not give it away. There
- 26:16Speaker 1: going to physically be different, right, so so try your
- 26:19Speaker 1: best not to guess based on them, do whatever you
- 26:22Speaker 1: need to do, and just just taste them only because
- 26:28Speaker 1: you could cheat easily. Oreos have the words and stuff
- 26:31Speaker 1: on them, So just try your best. Have a flat hand,
- 26:35Speaker 1: go flat hand to mouth, flat hand to mouth.
- 26:38Speaker 4: You're right next to me. I'm so excited.
- 26:41Speaker 1: I know we should have we should have. We should
- 26:43Speaker 1: have had cameras on everybody with the blindfolds and how
- 26:45Speaker 1: awkward it is. But do you, guys, get a different
- 26:48Speaker 1: taste with your eyes closed, not knowing what you're eating,
- 26:51Speaker 1: or do you think it's exactly the same if your
- 26:53Speaker 1: eyes were open.
- 26:54Speaker 2: I think it's pretty similar, maybe more focused on it
- 26:58Speaker 2: A B.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Okay, I'm just going right in.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't remember a B. Question mark.
- 27:06Speaker 1: I'm getting this one right.
- 27:08Speaker 4: I'm not ready.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I'm ready, not even tried B yet. All right, I
- 27:13Speaker 1: was chewing. You can say it out loud because you've
- 27:17Speaker 1: already guessed, right, make okay, I have mine. I'm not changing.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I'm going be's OREO.
- 27:23Speaker 2: I'm the only one that right, Holy cow, it was B.
- 27:27Speaker 1: It was A was the oriole no I have I
- 27:32Speaker 1: think no.
- 27:35Speaker 2: I still got it right though, though, because he told
- 27:37Speaker 2: me this was A or no. He told me this
- 27:39Speaker 2: was A and this was B.
- 27:40Speaker 1: It was a clear Well gave it like as soon
- 27:43Speaker 1: as I A, I said, that's not an oriole. I
- 27:45Speaker 1: love that cookie, but it's not an afters it's a
- 27:48Speaker 1: good cookie.
- 27:49Speaker 2: The after taste tastes like the difference have.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Or do you want to? You want to be blindfolded
- 27:53Speaker 1: and try. You don't need to try one of each,
- 27:56Speaker 1: and you'll clearly know.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Brandon had good frosting.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I liked the I like the non brand one better
- 28:02Speaker 1: than I did the actual Oreo just being one hundred
- 28:05Speaker 1: percent honest.
- 28:06Speaker 2: This has like a mint te taste to it. That's
- 28:09Speaker 2: what I tasted.
- 28:10Speaker 4: I can't agree with you. I'm sorry that what I
- 28:13Speaker 4: like better.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I'm telling you it's not bad cookie.
- 28:16Speaker 4: But I Oreo is another one of those ones. It's
- 28:19Speaker 4: like iconic.
- 28:20Speaker 1: It's iconic, but I'm telling you it was pretty good.
- 28:23Speaker 2: It has like no taste to it.
- 28:28Speaker 1: All right, Well, that was the sixth one, and it
- 28:31Speaker 1: looks like we have a tie. Was I prepared for
- 28:34Speaker 1: a tie breaker? No? Meg and Avery at six Islo
- 28:38Speaker 1: was f five. I was at three, So it looks
- 28:41Speaker 1: like you guys have to take turns using Dispatchulo. Congratulations
- 28:46Speaker 1: to both of you and the food master. Isla second
- 28:49Speaker 1: place not bad, Just like our softball teams over the weekend,
- 28:53Speaker 1: I was in dead last, still had a good time.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Shout out to the food master. What did you think
- 28:58Speaker 1: of this? Food master? If you want to step up
- 29:00Speaker 1: to that, mic, what could we have done better? Do
- 29:03Speaker 1: you have any future ideas that you're going to think of?
- 29:05Speaker 1: Was this a good challenge?
- 29:06Speaker 2: Yeah, this was a good challenge, but you kind of
- 29:08Speaker 2: gotten more food is Yeah, there's so like you weren't
- 29:13Speaker 2: paid for a tiebreaker. I feel like you should have
- 29:16Speaker 2: been prepared for that.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Fair enough, But no, I in my defense, I did
- 29:21Speaker 1: say for a tiebreaker, I wanted to get something else.
- 29:23Speaker 1: But somebody else hadn't eaten played softball all weekend, was
- 29:27Speaker 1: getting a little bit cranky on the store visit and said, Nah,
- 29:30Speaker 1: Sancy's god, actually, because I said, why don't we get
- 29:34Speaker 1: ice cream and or peanut butter? And try to tell
- 29:37Speaker 1: the difference in either of those? You said, she said, well,
- 29:40Speaker 1: I don't like any of those ice cream flavors.
- 29:43Speaker 2: No, that's not what happened. You said, crackers, ice creamer,
- 29:48Speaker 2: peanut butter. Yes, so we went with cheese it.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Do we have two brands and we don't have the Superrando,
- 29:52Speaker 1: we don't have anything else. I think that's named Brandon,
- 29:54Speaker 1: non me Brad. Okay, this is what we'll do then, Evan,
- 29:57Speaker 1: What do you do you guys think was the toughest one?
- 30:00Speaker 1: What did you think they struggled on Avery and Meg? Well,
- 30:02Speaker 1: they already know.
- 30:03Speaker 2: I think they struggled on the lucky charms.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Do you think you could try to fool them for
- 30:08Speaker 1: one more tie breaker, just the two of them? Okay,
- 30:10Speaker 1: let's try it. Tiebreaker?
- 30:11Speaker 4: What if we did just the marshmallows.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I'm saying, just the marshmallows, So clear
- 30:16Speaker 1: your paletts. Blindfold up and are you're gonna open up
- 30:19Speaker 1: like a baby bird and he's gonna drop a marshmallow
- 30:22Speaker 1: in your mouth so you don't get a chance to
- 30:23Speaker 1: touch it.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Is that the one I guess and got it right.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Blindfold up, yes, because the cereal pieces are different.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Remember blindfold up. Avery just watched, so make sure you
- 30:32Speaker 1: mix them up in your hands. She was watching you
- 30:34Speaker 1: like that.
- 30:34Speaker 2: I promise I didn't watch, but you can mix them up.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Still, Okay, you know which ones which? Okay, baby Bertha
- 30:40Speaker 1: right in the mouth.
- 30:40Speaker 4: For Gode when you're next to me though.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Okay, that's a held on, you're good Meg, he's and
- 30:48Speaker 1: here's b going into Avery gone, okay, A and b Okay,
- 30:54Speaker 1: now Meg's up. Hey, yeah he's in there. Shrew it
- 30:57Speaker 1: up all right? Ave's confident or no?
- 31:00Speaker 2: Yes?
- 31:01Speaker 1: Hey look at me? Okay, I don't know where you
- 31:04Speaker 1: are just standing right there? Meg? Do you have an
- 31:07Speaker 1: answer with be Avery? Thank you for saying the answer.
- 31:12Speaker 1: You guys are both the co champions. No, we're not
- 31:15Speaker 1: doing rock paper scissors. It's not on camera. You guys
- 31:18Speaker 1: don't follow the rules, so you both lose. Isla wins.
- 31:22Speaker 2: I promise I was gonna say, Bee.
- 31:23Speaker 1: That's all right either way. We don't have any more foods.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Evan has to get back because he was in the
- 31:27Speaker 1: mill of cooking dinner anyways. So I guess we know
- 31:31Speaker 1: who actually knows name brand and not name brand, don't we? Right? Evan,
- 31:35Speaker 1: how do you think you would have done on this?
- 31:36Speaker 1: Being honest? Separate up to that? Mike, do you think
- 31:38Speaker 1: you would have went, you know, six for six, like
- 31:41Speaker 1: them five or six? Four or six?
- 31:43Speaker 2: I think I'd probably go forward for four for sick?
- 31:46Speaker 1: Which ones would you have gotten wrong?
- 31:47Speaker 2: Probably lucky charms, that's one, with.
- 31:49Speaker 1: The other one pop tireds nutragraintra grain. Those were hard.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Those were hard. I only got the obvious ones you
- 31:55Speaker 1: could tell. I guess which food I eat a little
- 31:58Speaker 1: bit more. But clearly now we know who actually knows
- 32:00Speaker 1: food and who has apparently just been staring at packages
- 32:04Speaker 1: their entire life. I guess. In the comments, let us
- 32:06Speaker 1: know which ones you would do right, which ones you
- 32:08Speaker 1: would do wrong? I think that was good. You guys,
- 32:10Speaker 1: got anything else?
- 32:11Speaker 2: Nope?
- 32:12Speaker 1: All right? Well Evan or anybody else. If you have
- 32:14Speaker 1: any suggestions on what we should do next week, let
- 32:16Speaker 1: us know in the comments. We got a lot of
