- 0:15Speaker 1: Yo, what up?
- 0:15Speaker 2: If your boy n I see Yo, man. We gotta
- 0:20Speaker 2: start off today with the Jets football Jets. We got
- 0:24Speaker 2: a lot we're gonna get into. We're gonna go around
- 0:27Speaker 2: the NFL. We're gonna talk Crawford versus Canelo that happened
- 0:32Speaker 2: last night. We're gonna talk about the Mets finally getting
- 0:35Speaker 2: the wind behind a pee Alonzo walk off, three run
- 0:39Speaker 2: Homer in the bottom of the tenth talk a little
- 0:43Speaker 2: next to talk whatever, man, depending on what the chats say.
- 0:48Speaker 2: We never know what we might get into. But the
- 0:51Speaker 2: Jets Jets gets smoked today thirty to ten by the
- 0:57Speaker 2: Buffalo Bills. Your boy, Josh Allen continues to look like
- 1:04Speaker 2: an MVP even when he has one of his more
- 1:07Speaker 2: pedestrian performances. Josh Allen today was only fourteen of twenty five,
- 1:13Speaker 2: one hundred and forty eight yards, zero touchdowns, zero interceptions,
- 1:18Speaker 2: only gets sacked once. You know that guy only got
- 1:20Speaker 2: sacked fourteen times all of last year. He does not
- 1:23Speaker 2: get sacked often. And it seemed like today besides the
- 1:29Speaker 2: Jets just continuing to get in their own way, and
- 1:34Speaker 2: the Jets just continuing to look like the team they've
- 1:36Speaker 2: looked like for the last fourteen years when they haven't
- 1:39Speaker 2: been able to make the playoffs.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Josh Allen, in having.
- 1:44Speaker 2: What statistically is a bad game, gets his nose bloodied,
- 1:48Speaker 2: comes out, Trubisky comes in. He Trubisky even comes in,
- 1:52Speaker 2: and it converts a third down against the Jets. The
- 1:55Speaker 2: defense that.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Is led by former cornerback Aaron Glenn and is supposed to.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Be a better I don't know. People were talking top
- 2:03Speaker 2: five defense, not that. In the first two games, we
- 2:06Speaker 2: have definitely seen that they are not that. And after
- 2:10Speaker 2: a week one where the Jets even in losing, and
- 2:15Speaker 2: I'm not one for moral victories, I was pissed at
- 2:19Speaker 2: the end of that game because I thought we had it.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I saw some of the most prepared and the most
- 2:28Speaker 2: intense and fundamentally sound Jets football that I have seen
- 2:31Speaker 2: in ages. In Game one, you lose to Aaron Rodgers,
- 2:38Speaker 2: he celebrates as he walks off the field. He then
- 2:42Speaker 2: he talked shit in the post game, which I don't
- 2:44Speaker 2: blame him. I'm one of those people that I'm gonna
- 2:48Speaker 2: get on board, especially going into a season, but quite frankly,
- 2:54Speaker 2: if you ask me, I would say that we should
- 2:57Speaker 2: have brought Aaron Rodgers back, and you have a game
- 3:01Speaker 2: that you're winning by nine points in the fourth quarter and.
- 3:05Speaker 1: You still lose.
- 3:09Speaker 2: This sounds like a disaster. But like many Jet fans,
- 3:12Speaker 2: I was able to come out of that game and
- 3:14Speaker 2: say to myself, you know what, hey man, this.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Is a new day. We on the way up.
- 3:20Speaker 2: We got something going. Looks like Aaron Glenn's got these
- 3:26Speaker 2: guys ready to play. Looks like Justin Fields is a
- 3:30Speaker 2: legitimate quarterback and could be our quarterback of the future.
- 3:37Speaker 2: The defense, Hey, we got some things to figure out,
- 3:40Speaker 2: and we will figure those things out. That's the way
- 3:42Speaker 2: you felt coming out of Week one. All that shit's
- 3:49Speaker 2: out the window. The week to performance by the New
- 3:54Speaker 2: York Jets was putrid. They had zero discipline. And you
- 4:03Speaker 2: know what, let's stop right there with those zero discipline
- 4:06Speaker 2: and let's talk about a mister Michael Clemens, a guy
- 4:10Speaker 2: who I have been screaming. If you watch he did
- 4:13Speaker 2: this to me the show with Me and my Dad,
- 4:15Speaker 2: the weekly podcast by two optimistic Nicks Mets and Jets fans,
- 4:21Speaker 2: a father and son.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Nonetheless, if you watch.
- 4:25Speaker 2: That, you've seen me scream. Cut Michael Clemens, get him
- 4:29Speaker 2: out of here. I can't deal with this guy.
- 4:34Speaker 1: You know, he's mister all He's all mirror teen. Because
- 4:40Speaker 1: the guy pause looks great with it, looks great without
- 4:44Speaker 1: a shirt on.
- 4:45Speaker 2: He shows up the camp with a bat with barbed
- 4:49Speaker 2: wire on it. Yo, Come on, man, how many times
- 4:55Speaker 2: do we have to see Michael Clemens get into some
- 5:00Speaker 2: sort of fight after the whistle or put a late
- 5:04Speaker 2: hit on a quarterback before we realize that this guy
- 5:09Speaker 2: has rocks.
- 5:10Speaker 1: For brains and will never learn and.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Will always cost you. How many times we gotta see it? Yo,
- 5:20Speaker 2: I'm so tired. I'm so tired of this guy. The
- 5:24Speaker 2: Jets are about to get a stop. It's third and forever.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Josh Allen throws it to somebody underneath. We come up,
- 5:35Speaker 2: we make the tackle, we're getting off the field. Let's
- 5:37Speaker 2: go wait wait wait no no, no, no, no no.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Michael Clemens decided to run his face mask into Josh Allen.
- 5:47Speaker 2: He actually turns his head to the side. Josh Allen
- 5:50Speaker 2: before he even hits the ground is like ah.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Pointing out his head.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Josh Allen is just as bad, if not worse, than
- 5:56Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes. Everybody's always talking about how Patrick Mahomes is
- 5:58Speaker 2: always screaming for the calls. Josh Allen is looking for
- 6:01Speaker 2: calls more than anybody. And Josh Allen is a fucking tank.
- 6:04Speaker 2: He's huge, so he you know, he's not He's not getting.
- 6:10Speaker 2: He never gets. He almost never gets sacked. Like I said,
- 6:12Speaker 2: fourteen sacks all of last season, which is crazy. The
- 6:14Speaker 2: next team had like forty something. It's a crazy stat.
- 6:17Speaker 2: The Jets were actually able to get to him and
- 6:19Speaker 2: sack them once in this game. But Josh Allen, man,
- 6:23Speaker 2: you know you cannot give this guy extra opportunities. And
- 6:28Speaker 2: on the first drive by the Bills, we do exactly that.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Michael Clemens, man, he should be cut tomorrow. And you know,
- 6:39Speaker 2: I'm not one for calling for people's jobs. I was,
- 6:43Speaker 2: I was okay, and I agreed with the cutting of
- 6:45Speaker 2: Gibson because that play, and I know that Aaron Glenn
- 6:49Speaker 2: says that there's a lot of things that lead up
- 6:51Speaker 2: to it. But he was still your starting returner going
- 6:54Speaker 2: into that game. He still was the returner after he
- 6:58Speaker 2: made that very cat fumbling in Game one against Pittsburgh.
- 7:03Speaker 2: And Gibson was gone on Monday, and I think there's
- 7:06Speaker 2: a chance that Clemens is gone tomorrow, even though he
- 7:10Speaker 2: continued to get snaps after that stupid, stupid roughing call.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I don't care if you got your head to the side.
- 7:18Speaker 2: You have to know that you just can't do that
- 7:20Speaker 2: in today's NFL. And how this guy when he has
- 7:23Speaker 2: been the focal point of the Jets and their inability
- 7:27Speaker 2: to control themselves and not get stupid penalties in the
- 7:30Speaker 2: Robert sala era. In the Robert sala era, he was
- 7:33Speaker 2: the number one offender. I've been saying for a couple
- 7:36Speaker 2: of years. Now, get this guy out of here. He's
- 7:43Speaker 2: not mentally he doesn't understand what he can and can't do,
- 7:48Speaker 2: or he can't control himself. Either way, you gotta go.
- 7:52Speaker 2: But somehow, someway new regime comes in, they continue to
- 8:00Speaker 2: put him in, especially on passing downs. Actually, no, I
- 8:04Speaker 2: think he plays against the run just as much against
- 8:06Speaker 2: he plays against the past.
- 8:07Speaker 1: But we know what. He shouldn't be playing for the
- 8:09Speaker 1: Jets anymore.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Get him out of here, yo, it's just too costly
- 8:14Speaker 2: of a penalty. And in the course of a football game. Hey,
- 8:18Speaker 2: we know that one penalty, one big play. More than
- 8:23Speaker 2: any other sport, it can totally change the landscape of
- 8:27Speaker 2: the game. If the Jets get off the field right there,
- 8:30Speaker 2: and maybe the offense is able to find a little
- 8:32Speaker 2: bit of rhythm. Who knows, But thinking of this offense
- 8:37Speaker 2: finding any rhythm in today's game, it's kind of hard
- 8:41Speaker 2: to even think that's even the possibility because they looked
- 8:47Speaker 2: horrible from the beginning. The rushing attack that dominated against
- 8:52Speaker 2: Pittsburgh today, they were not able to get off with
- 8:58Speaker 2: the running game at all. They looked like the Bills
- 9:02Speaker 2: were selling out against the run. We were being super predictable.
- 9:06Speaker 2: They were bringing down an extra guy, they were bringing
- 9:09Speaker 2: corners in safeties.
- 9:11Speaker 1: You know.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Romo and Nance were talking about it on the broadcast.
- 9:16Speaker 1: You know, they're bringing all times, not.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Romo and Nance. Romo and Nance were on that game.
- 9:19Speaker 2: There would never be on the Jets game. They were
- 9:21Speaker 2: on one of the later games they were on. They
- 9:24Speaker 2: were on Uh were they on the Jets game?
- 9:27Speaker 1: Yeah? No, we did get Romo on Nance. Dam.
- 9:29Speaker 2: I watched a lot of football today. For a second,
- 9:31Speaker 2: I was like, Yo, did we get Romo and Nance?
- 9:33Speaker 1: But we did. We did get Romo and Nance, And
- 9:37Speaker 1: you know, I just thought that the Jets overall, they
- 9:42Speaker 1: looked like.
- 9:44Speaker 2: The exact opposite of what you felt like after last
- 9:47Speaker 2: week the Jets and the Giants did a flip flopped
- 9:48Speaker 2: this weekend because the Giants last week were the team
- 9:52Speaker 2: that it was like, damn, you know, they haven't gotten
- 9:55Speaker 2: any better. My shot to my man John, you know,
- 9:58Speaker 2: he hit me up. He was like, yo if Lisa
- 9:59Speaker 2: f Jets fan, I feel like, you know, maybe we've
- 10:01Speaker 2: turned things around. But the Giants look like the same
- 10:03Speaker 2: old Giants. Giants today they lose an absolute heartbreaker, double overtime.
- 10:07Speaker 2: We'll talk about I'm sorry in overtime. There's no double
- 10:09Speaker 2: overtime in football. And they lose in an absolute heartbreaker.
- 10:16Speaker 2: They get a last second kick at the end of regulation,
- 10:20Speaker 2: the last second kick at the end of the game.
- 10:23Speaker 1: But you know, their offense looks good. Russell Wilson, let
- 10:27Speaker 1: Russ Cook, He's.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Throwing the moonball, dimes the neighbors they start, they're looking like, Okay,
- 10:32Speaker 2: maybe we got a little something going on, even though
- 10:36Speaker 2: they lost. And that's how the Jets felt after week one,
- 10:39Speaker 2: Week two, the Jets, It's like, I could have swore
- 10:43Speaker 2: that solid you know, winning got him a Aaron Glen
- 10:47Speaker 2: suit that looked like the solid team I meet.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Well, maybe this is what Glenn teams look like.
- 10:52Speaker 2: We saw one week Aaron Glenn, and everybody was talking
- 10:55Speaker 2: about how he changed the culture and how the building
- 10:58Speaker 2: was different, and how you know, this whole training camp
- 11:02Speaker 2: has been all about, well, they're more competitive now and
- 11:05Speaker 2: you know, there's a lot more accountability. Same old motherfucking Jets.
- 11:15Speaker 2: They looked horrible from the jump and everybody who was
- 11:18Speaker 2: talking about the Jets might have found a quarterback, they
- 11:20Speaker 2: might have found their franchise quarterback. Before he was concussed.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Justin Fields looked horrible. The running game was not there,
- 11:35Speaker 2: and Justin Fields when he was forced to drop back
- 11:38Speaker 2: in pass was three of eleven for twenty seven yards.
- 11:41Speaker 2: He got sacked two times, he fumbled the ball twice.
- 11:46Speaker 2: He lost one fumble, which basically to me signaled the
- 11:50Speaker 2: end of the game when he lost that fumble in
- 11:52Speaker 2: the second quarter, deep in Jets territory. After the Bills
- 11:56Speaker 2: offense had already shown that they were able to march
- 11:58Speaker 2: down and.
- 11:59Speaker 1: After the the the the.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Offense of the Jets had already shown that they couldn't
- 12:04Speaker 2: do much. And now we get a new drive and
- 12:07Speaker 2: this cat gets tackled from behind by Bosa and the
- 12:11Speaker 2: balls bouncing around on the ground and it's Bill's ball
- 12:14Speaker 2: and they're about to go out and just you know,
- 12:15Speaker 2: I think they would that's that look hit the field goal.
- 12:18Speaker 1: There to go up ten zero, I'm pretty sure.
- 12:21Speaker 2: But Fields a horrible missing wide open receivers Garrett Wilson
- 12:28Speaker 2: wide open, just missed him. A couple other balls across
- 12:32Speaker 2: the middle, just high, and you know, Fields didn't look
- 12:35Speaker 2: at all. They show the stat he's got the most
- 12:39Speaker 2: fumbles in the NFL over the last few years. Clearly
- 12:42Speaker 2: he's a guy who scrambles a lot. He did have
- 12:45Speaker 2: one very good scramble, one long run, twenty seven yard run.
- 12:49Speaker 2: But I mean, look, man, look at Breeze Hall ten
- 12:51Speaker 2: carries twenty nine yards Tyrod Taylor. He comes in later
- 12:57Speaker 2: because Fields get concussed. Now he's in the protocol, smacked
- 13:01Speaker 2: his head onto the turf, and now who knows with
- 13:06Speaker 2: him how long that's gonna take. And all of a sudden,
- 13:09Speaker 2: this Jets team, who after week one, you thought to yourself,
- 13:12Speaker 2: you know what, man, we might be able to do something.
- 13:16Speaker 2: We might forget you know, eight to nine shit fuck
- 13:19Speaker 2: around and get ten wins. This year, we tighten up
- 13:22Speaker 2: the defense a little bit with the offense looking like that.
- 13:27Speaker 2: And this Bills team they gave up forty last week.
- 13:33Speaker 1: To the Ravens.
- 13:36Speaker 2: They hold the Jets to ten points, and they hold
- 13:39Speaker 2: really the Jets to three points. They get seven points
- 13:42Speaker 2: in garbage time. Shout to Rucker and his pops. His
- 13:46Speaker 2: pops put up a post. He said, I know, Jets fans,
- 13:48Speaker 2: we not help. We're not happy right now.
- 13:49Speaker 1: But you know, he's a Long Island guy.
- 13:52Speaker 2: And his son scored his first ever touchdown for the Jets,
- 13:55Speaker 2: so he was hyped.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I think that's great. I love that story in general.
- 13:58Speaker 1: You got my chair.
- 14:00Speaker 2: I've had just chair for a couple of years, had
- 14:03Speaker 2: just chair for nah a couple of years. A couple
- 14:05Speaker 2: of years now, I paid a decent amount of money
- 14:08Speaker 2: for you know, twenty twenty hours. You know, I was
- 14:11Speaker 2: working from home for a little while. I got my
- 14:13Speaker 2: little home office desk set up, and I get this chair,
- 14:16Speaker 2: and I can't figure out I've tried everything to be
- 14:19Speaker 2: able to make this chair stand in its position.
- 14:21Speaker 1: It always always scooches back down.
- 14:24Speaker 2: So if you're watch any of the other shows, you know,
- 14:26Speaker 2: me versus my chair is a bit of a theme
- 14:28Speaker 2: and it'll continue to be here an independent nick. But yeah, man,
- 14:33Speaker 2: the Jets, it's just, you know, this is the life
- 14:39Speaker 2: that we have chosen. I guess this was life was
- 14:40Speaker 2: chosen for me. It was passed down to me for
- 14:42Speaker 2: my pops. And you know, it's like a you get
- 14:46Speaker 2: a week.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Of a glimmer of hope.
- 14:49Speaker 2: It's not even like I got to enjoy like a
- 14:50Speaker 2: win last week. It's a week of a glimmer of hope.
- 14:53Speaker 2: And then you know, you realize real quickly that, yeah,
- 14:56Speaker 2: the Bills are absolutely positively the class.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Of the division.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I don't think that there was any you know, misgivings
- 15:04Speaker 2: about that.
- 15:04Speaker 1: From Jets fans.
- 15:05Speaker 2: But we typically play the Bills pretty well. Even in
- 15:08Speaker 2: the seasons where they're a much better team, and they
- 15:10Speaker 2: have been here, especially in recent memory, we still usually
- 15:13Speaker 2: play them pretty well.
- 15:16Speaker 1: And today they just carved us up. Man.
- 15:20Speaker 2: You know, everybody talks about this more aggressive defense that
- 15:24Speaker 2: Aaron Glenn is going to run, but it seemed like
- 15:28Speaker 2: Josh Allen and their running game was able to pick
- 15:32Speaker 2: that apart.
- 15:32Speaker 1: But that's the thing when you look at this game,
- 15:34Speaker 1: if you really take a look at the stats, you
- 15:36Speaker 1: would say Josh Allen's fourteen of twenty five.
- 15:41Speaker 2: YO. The Jets might have a chance, but then James
- 15:44Speaker 2: Cook twenty one carries one hundred and thirty two yards
- 15:46Speaker 2: two touchdowns. He has a highlight run, he cuts it
- 15:48Speaker 2: back a few times in the middle of the field
- 15:51Speaker 2: and ends up scoring a touchdown.
- 15:52Speaker 1: The Jets defense looked like it was just a step slow.
- 15:57Speaker 2: The offense didn't look like they were able to scheme
- 16:00Speaker 2: anything open or make anything easy. Both of these things,
- 16:05Speaker 2: I mean, especially the offense was just the exact opposite
- 16:07Speaker 2: of what we saw last week. A lot of people
- 16:10Speaker 2: would tell you that the Pittsburgh defense is better than
- 16:13Speaker 2: the Buffalo defense. Yet we were able to confuse the
- 16:18Speaker 2: Pittsburgh defense. We were able to line up and run
- 16:22Speaker 2: directly at them and just just absolutely destroy them with
- 16:26Speaker 2: the running game. But this Buffalo defense, after one week
- 16:29Speaker 2: of tape on, the Jets were like, Okay, this is
- 16:31Speaker 2: how we stopped that, and we were never able to
- 16:34Speaker 2: figure it out.
- 16:35Speaker 1: We were never able to counter. Yeah, man, it was.
- 16:40Speaker 1: It was. It was a tough one. It was a real,
- 16:42Speaker 1: real tough one.
- 16:43Speaker 2: It was a game that the Jets were clearly out
- 16:45Speaker 2: of and just clearly outclassed from.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Very early on. Aaron Glenn. You know, all this talk
- 16:52Speaker 1: about having guys be.
- 16:55Speaker 2: More you know, accountable and all this, and you know
- 16:58Speaker 2: he did rip into Clemens after the bonehead penalty. But
- 17:05Speaker 2: the Jets in general, man, just silly penalties, silly penalties
- 17:10Speaker 2: that extended drives.
- 17:13Speaker 1: For the Bills.
- 17:16Speaker 2: And cost the Jets the few big you know, it's
- 17:21Speaker 2: hard to say they even costs any big plays because
- 17:23Speaker 2: did the Jets make any big plays?
- 17:24Speaker 1: I mean, did they even have anything like really called back?
- 17:27Speaker 2: I feel like I'm remembering one play being called back,
- 17:30Speaker 2: But just it's one of those games, you know, where
- 17:32Speaker 2: it's just like man, same old Jets. How is it
- 17:38Speaker 2: that over this last fourteen years, different regimes, Todd Bowles,
- 17:45Speaker 2: Adam Gase, Robert Salah and now Aaron Glenn, and some
- 17:54Speaker 2: of the same things continue to show up for this team.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I don't get it, man, I don't get it. I
- 18:03Speaker 1: really don't.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Obviously, neither it is Woody Johnson because he would have
- 18:11Speaker 2: figured it out by now, and neither does Aaron Glenn
- 18:15Speaker 2: at the moment. But hopefully he figures it out. The
- 18:17Speaker 2: Jets gotta figure out a way to be able to
- 18:20Speaker 2: stop the run. They stopped the run fairly well against Pittsburgh,
- 18:25Speaker 2: but after what Cook did to us today, you best
- 18:28Speaker 2: believe that these teams that we play are going to
- 18:31Speaker 2: be trying to run the ball directly at us, and
- 18:33Speaker 2: can we stop that? And then the secondary outside of
- 18:38Speaker 2: Sauce is very very very shaky.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Very shaky. Man.
- 18:46Speaker 2: You know, we saw Stevens get picked on last game
- 18:50Speaker 2: by Aaron Rodgers, and in today's game, you just saw
- 18:58Speaker 2: whenever there was a time to make a play on
- 19:00Speaker 2: say a third down.
- 19:02Speaker 1: The Jets weren't able to.
- 19:04Speaker 2: And when a team can run the ball on you
- 19:06Speaker 2: like that, you're gonna have a tough time. And that's
- 19:07Speaker 2: exactly what the Jets had. Brice Hall wasn't able to
- 19:11Speaker 2: get off and do anything. Ten carries twenty nine yards.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Come on, man, you know the offensive line, they get
- 19:20Speaker 2: the big injury preseason with Elijah Vera Tucker, and then
- 19:24Speaker 2: in this last game, you say, hey, man, we get
- 19:27Speaker 2: Tipman out there, we're good to go. But unfortunately the
- 19:34Speaker 2: Jets are not good to go, and they quickly look
- 19:37Speaker 2: like a team that is in for a long season.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Now they're playing the Bills, which is one of the
- 19:42Speaker 2: better teams in the NFL many. I mean, if they're
- 19:47Speaker 2: not the most most people will consider them one of
- 19:49Speaker 2: the two or three best teams in the NFL. Most
- 19:52Speaker 2: people would definitely consider them as one of the favorites
- 19:54Speaker 2: to get to the AFC Championship. The thing that they
- 19:56Speaker 2: haven't been able to do is get over that hump.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I think that you know them and the Ravens are
- 20:03Speaker 2: the class of the AFC at the moment. And they
- 20:07Speaker 2: were able to beat the Ravens last week. They were
- 20:09Speaker 2: able to beat the Ravens last year in the playoffs,
- 20:13Speaker 2: and so maybe the Jets, you know, hey, Pittsburgh, they
- 20:16Speaker 2: lose a tough one, they get absolutely waxed by the Bills.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Does that mean that the season is over. It's not
- 20:22Speaker 2: just the fact that they lost today. It's the way
- 20:24Speaker 2: that they did. It's the self inflicted wounds, it's the penalties.
- 20:28Speaker 2: It's justin fields looking like he can't play quarterback. I mean,
- 20:32Speaker 2: the amount of misses that he had today. I can
- 20:34Speaker 2: think of like four off the top of my head.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Just missus throwing the ball behind Garrett Wilson, throwing the
- 20:42Speaker 2: ball high, I think to Ruckert and then in the flat,
- 20:47Speaker 2: who was it? I want to say it was. It
- 20:55Speaker 2: wasn't Breeze, it was one of the backs. I think
- 21:00Speaker 2: it was TDI Johnson, Tdy Johnson out in the flat
- 21:02Speaker 2: and you know, as Tony Romo said, you just can't
- 21:04Speaker 2: miss that. He catches that ball and he's still running.
- 21:08Speaker 2: He runs forever, but he comes out justin Fields and
- 21:12Speaker 2: he looks extremely inaccurate.
- 21:15Speaker 1: He's holding onto the ball way too long, and he's.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Got questionable and not even questionable, just bad ball security.
- 21:26Speaker 2: He looks like all of the things that we have
- 21:29Speaker 2: seen from Justin Fields that has prevented him from becoming
- 21:33Speaker 2: an elite quarterback, even though he was a high draft
- 21:37Speaker 2: pick with lots of potential coming out of Ohio State.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Week one, Week one, he tricked this man. He tricked us.
- 21:47Speaker 1: He showed us something week one that made you think,
- 21:49Speaker 1: like YO heard, I.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Heard so many people talking about the Jets may have
- 21:52Speaker 2: found a quarterback and this could be this could be
- 21:55Speaker 2: not just a guy who's a stop gap, but could
- 21:57Speaker 2: be our franchise quarterback. Does any Jet fin feel like that?
- 22:03Speaker 2: After Week two? How quickly things can change in the NFL.
- 22:13Speaker 2: And let's go around the.
- 22:14Speaker 1: NFL real quick. A very very interesting day.
- 22:20Speaker 2: You had a rematch of last year's Super Bowl, the
- 22:24Speaker 2: Eagles versus the Chiefs, and the Eagles end up winning
- 22:29Speaker 2: twenty to seventeen. The Eagles really were in control of
- 22:33Speaker 2: this game for what seemed like a lot of it though,
- 22:42Speaker 2: you know, you know, Kansas City, man, they had a
- 22:46Speaker 2: chance to go up pretty sure. They're down thirteen to ten,
- 22:50Speaker 2: and your boy Mahomes is doing his thing. He throws
- 22:55Speaker 2: a pash to Travis Kelsey, Kelsey's little lake getting his
- 22:58Speaker 2: head around. Instead of catching it for a touchdown, he
- 23:02Speaker 2: tips it and now the ball is intercepted. The Eagles
- 23:06Speaker 2: are going the other way. And after that the Eagles
- 23:09Speaker 2: were had it pretty much under control. Kansas City scored late,
- 23:13Speaker 2: but in the fourth quarter it was a two score
- 23:15Speaker 2: game for most of it, where you know, you felt
- 23:18Speaker 2: like the Eagles were just basically a first down away.
- 23:24Speaker 2: And of course with them their short yardedgibility with both
- 23:27Speaker 2: Sakuan and with Tush push with Jalen Hurts, and they're
- 23:31Speaker 2: able to get that w Chiefs you know the weapons there.
- 23:37Speaker 2: You know, they get more injuries today to the receivers.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Was it Hollywood that went down today? And then your boy,
- 23:48Speaker 2: your boy Kelsey, Man. I mean he had a couple
- 23:50Speaker 2: big plays early on. You know, he had a couple
- 23:53Speaker 2: of big plays. I saw him getting hype flex and
- 23:55Speaker 2: looking at the you know, looking at the stands and whatnot.
- 24:00Speaker 2: But he ends up having the biggest play of the game,
- 24:03Speaker 2: and it's on a negative end because that ball hits
- 24:05Speaker 2: him and gets popped up and then they're running the
- 24:07Speaker 2: other way.
- 24:10Speaker 1: So that's Eagles case. Man. You know, case is now
- 24:12Speaker 1: oh and too. They haven't been owing to in.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Like fourteen years or something like that, and it was
- 24:17Speaker 2: last year that they were that they missed the playoffs.
- 24:21Speaker 1: So the Chiefs they're uh, I don't know, man, I
- 24:26Speaker 1: think they'll be okay, I really do.
- 24:29Speaker 2: I think the Chiefs are gonna end up being okay.
- 24:31Speaker 2: We just watched the Vikings get smacked by the Falcons.
- 24:36Speaker 2: I mean, JJ McCarthy, everybody wants to talk about how
- 24:40Speaker 2: good this dude is.
- 24:41Speaker 1: You know, you move on from Sam.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Darnold, JJ McCarthy. Look today, he had two picks. He's
- 24:50Speaker 2: eleven to twenty one hundred and fifty eight yards and
- 24:56Speaker 2: just in general looked like.
- 24:58Speaker 1: He was a step slow.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Oh as far as his processing mentally of what was
- 25:02Speaker 2: going on.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Taking some big sacks. Let's not annoying him just yet.
- 25:11Speaker 1: And I like him. I follow Michigan football, I have
- 25:15Speaker 1: my entire life.
- 25:16Speaker 2: He was able to win a national championship there. You know, listen,
- 25:20Speaker 2: JJ McCarthy, he comes in, he gets injured, everybody's talking
- 25:23Speaker 2: about all was so great. He got to sit back
- 25:25Speaker 2: for a year and watch they move on from Sam Darnold,
- 25:30Speaker 2: who had a very good season for them.
- 25:31Speaker 1: He ends up in Seattle. I don't know if we're
- 25:36Speaker 1: ready to anoint this kid just yet.
- 25:38Speaker 2: He did not look very good tonight and there's definitely
- 25:41Speaker 2: gonna be some growing pains. And this Vikings team that,
- 25:45Speaker 2: you know, many people after winning twelve games last year
- 25:51Speaker 2: felt like this team is, you know, another team that
- 25:53Speaker 2: can really contend in the loaded NFC. You take a
- 25:59Speaker 2: step back and it's like, Yo, they beat the Bears
- 26:02Speaker 2: last week, who got smacked by Detroit. You know, you
- 26:07Speaker 2: knew Detroit was gonna come back after that, you know,
- 26:11Speaker 2: embarrassing loss in week one against Green Bay and they
- 26:17Speaker 2: especially yo against his your boy man Campbell, against his
- 26:23Speaker 2: old his old coach. He said, nah, man, let me
- 26:26Speaker 2: show you what time it is right now, and their
- 26:29Speaker 2: offense was the one that looked like it was a
- 26:32Speaker 2: well oiled machine. Saint Brown had multiple touchdowns. They get
- 26:39Speaker 2: a big win. The AFC North is definitely, I'm sorry,
- 26:43Speaker 2: The NFC North is definitely gonna be an interesting division
- 26:47Speaker 2: and seeing how that plays out. And Yo, man, at
- 26:50Speaker 2: the end of the day, I'm just saying with JJ McCarthy, man,
- 26:53Speaker 2: don't annoint.
- 26:53Speaker 1: This guy just yet. Not yet. He's not not yet.
- 26:58Speaker 2: We gotta see a little bit more. Cardinals beat the Panthers.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Panthers made that interesting at the end. The Cardinals were
- 27:03Speaker 2: my pick and my survivor pool this week, and I
- 27:05Speaker 2: was like, yo, chill, like what are they doing? The
- 27:08Speaker 2: Cardinals trying to do everything they could to give that
- 27:10Speaker 2: game away. At one point, they had so many penalties
- 27:14Speaker 2: in that last drive, trying their best to let the
- 27:18Speaker 2: Panthers get back in it, but they were able at
- 27:21Speaker 2: the end to hold it down. I'm pretty sure it was
- 27:23Speaker 2: Kalais Campbell who got the sack that finished off the game.
- 27:26Speaker 2: There were so many times that it seemed like the
- 27:28Speaker 2: game was finished off and then there was a penalty.
- 27:30Speaker 1: It's hard to keep it straight.
- 27:32Speaker 2: The Colts, the Colts, what's the Colts kicker's name. What
- 27:39Speaker 2: is the Colts kicker's name, because, Yo, this dude got
- 27:42Speaker 2: the ultimate mulligan.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Ultimate mulligan.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Will is that it's the Broncos kicker. I don't know
- 27:57Speaker 2: no kicker's name except for the Jets kicker, Spencer Strader.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Yo, this dude, he gets a makeable kick.
- 28:09Speaker 2: In today's NFL, we see guys smack sixty seventy yarders
- 28:12Speaker 2: all the time. And Strader gets a chance to end
- 28:16Speaker 2: the game and he misses, but they make contact with
- 28:21Speaker 2: the center the Broncos do, so he gets a second kick,
- 28:25Speaker 2: and on his second chance, he makes good and the
- 28:28Speaker 2: Colts win the game. I mean, I really thought that.
- 28:35Speaker 2: I thought the Colts are gonna win. I thought they
- 28:36Speaker 2: actually wenna win a little bit more handedly. But I
- 28:39Speaker 2: did take a money line, so you know, we're happy
- 28:43Speaker 2: about that. We like that part. But the Colts man,
- 28:46Speaker 2: you know, coming out to and oher your boy Danny Dimes.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Jonathan Taylor twenty to five carries one hundred and sixty
- 28:54Speaker 2: five yards.
- 28:55Speaker 1: He continues to be a beast.
- 28:56Speaker 2: I mean, he might be the best running back in
- 28:58Speaker 2: the NFL over the last you know, three four years.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Ah Nahaquan got say right.
- 29:03Speaker 2: But Jonathan Taylor consistently, you know, I know he's had
- 29:05Speaker 2: a year where he got hurt, but consistently has been
- 29:09Speaker 2: that dude. He also has two catches for fifty yards
- 29:14Speaker 2: in addition to to the to the to the damage
- 29:18Speaker 2: he did on the ground, a touchdown catch as well.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Shot to Jonathan Taylor, man, you know he's doing his thing.
- 29:25Speaker 2: And the Colts being two and oh, you know, I
- 29:29Speaker 2: don't think a lot of people had them going to
- 29:31Speaker 2: and O to start the season, Let's put that way.
- 29:33Speaker 2: And they made Miami look horrible, and Miami hung in
- 29:37Speaker 2: there today against New England.
- 29:43Speaker 1: What else we got? What else happened in the NFL?
- 29:45Speaker 2: A Day, Giants, Cowboys, man, Yo, Russell Wilson, everybody hating
- 29:49Speaker 2: on Russ.
- 29:49Speaker 1: I always think that Russ gets a little.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Bit more hate than he deserves, just you know, people
- 29:54Speaker 2: calling him corny and this and that, Like, Yo, I
- 29:56Speaker 2: don't what.
- 29:57Speaker 1: He gotta be.
- 29:58Speaker 2: He gotta be somebody you could kick with. Nah, I
- 30:00Speaker 2: don't care about that so much.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Man.
- 30:02Speaker 2: There's some dudes that I look at and it's like, yo,
- 30:04Speaker 2: I can see myself kicking with him. The other dudes
- 30:05Speaker 2: I look at him like, nah, I couldn't see it
- 30:07Speaker 2: with him. I don't know, man, you never know what
- 30:09Speaker 2: Russ is like behind you know, closed doors. At the
- 30:11Speaker 2: end of the day, he's doing okay for himself in life,
- 30:17Speaker 2: in all the aspects of life that I know about
- 30:20Speaker 2: him and that I can see, he's doing okay.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 30:24Speaker 2: So I think sometimes he gets a little bit too
- 30:25Speaker 2: much hate. And you know, I think he's he's an
- 30:28Speaker 2: all time great quarterback. He should have two super Bowls
- 30:32Speaker 2: if not for a terrible call by Pete Carroll. And
- 30:38Speaker 2: he has in his post Seahawks life where he tries
- 30:43Speaker 2: to go to these different teams.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Gotta understand Brady and Peyton Manning.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Those cats went to good teams with good offensive lines,
- 30:53Speaker 2: or at least decent offensive lines. Yo, you look at
- 31:00Speaker 2: Aaron Rodgers, things are going a little bit better here
- 31:04Speaker 2: and for him in you know, Pittsburgh, the offensive line
- 31:06Speaker 2: is a little bit better. The Jets offensive line was
- 31:09Speaker 2: putrid when Aaron Rodgers was here. You look at Rush
- 31:14Speaker 2: in his stops, Pittsburgh offensive line was okay.
- 31:17Speaker 1: I guess I guess what. That's the same offensive line.
- 31:20Speaker 2: We're gonna see how Aaron Aaron Rodgers got sacked four
- 31:22Speaker 2: times in the first week. I don't know how that
- 31:23Speaker 2: the offensive line did for him this week, but russ Man,
- 31:26Speaker 2: it looks like he's always under siege, especially with that
- 31:28Speaker 2: Giants offensive line.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Today he ends up having an all.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Time high in yards four hundred and fifty yards thirty
- 31:37Speaker 2: for forty one three touchdowns. But that one interception, that
- 31:41Speaker 2: one interception in overtime where he tries to throw the
- 31:45Speaker 2: ball up to Neighbors, he throws it way too far
- 31:47Speaker 2: the defenders right there. Neighbors did everything he could to
- 31:50Speaker 2: try to play d back on that play and try
- 31:53Speaker 2: to knock the ball out of his hands, but he
- 31:54Speaker 2: wasn't able to and they were able to take the
- 31:57Speaker 2: ball and take it.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Back down in the field and.
- 32:02Speaker 2: They were able to get that last field goal. Were
- 32:07Speaker 2: the Dallas Cowboys, and they were able to win the
- 32:09Speaker 2: game forty to thirty seven. That was a great game.
- 32:12Speaker 2: I'm gonna keep it, keep it a buck with you.
- 32:14Speaker 2: I turned off the Jets game s thirty to three.
- 32:19Speaker 2: I had enough. There was too many other things on football.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Kind of wanted to see what was going on with
- 32:27Speaker 2: the Liberty a little bit there in the playoffs a
- 32:29Speaker 2: little bit. I watched a little bit, but yeah, switched over.
- 32:35Speaker 2: I wanted to watch the end of the Giants game.
- 32:36Speaker 2: It was overtime, it was close, you know, I wanted
- 32:38Speaker 2: to see the end of that. You know, Colts Broncos game,
- 32:45Speaker 2: y'all had to split screen going.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Hey, YouTube TV, y'all do a.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Great job of listening to the consumer, just like at
- 32:53Speaker 2: least there's a few things since it started out where
- 32:56Speaker 2: they just say, you know what, all right, let's switch it.
- 32:58Speaker 1: That's what I love.
- 32:59Speaker 2: You know, when you got that this ain't that old
- 33:00Speaker 2: legacy bullshit. You gotta get a whole new box to
- 33:04Speaker 2: get new future features.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Nah, they just go in, change.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Up the software, pop up, pop up, and now we
- 33:09Speaker 2: can make our own multiview. I can put it into
- 33:14Speaker 2: different ones that I want to see. I want to
- 33:16Speaker 2: see these two games. Bang bang, let's go.
- 33:18Speaker 1: I want to see these four games. Bug bong bong bong,
- 33:20Speaker 1: let's go. I love that about YouTube TV. Man, it
- 33:26Speaker 1: used to be the guide.
- 33:27Speaker 2: When you would go if you were watching the show
- 33:29Speaker 2: and you wanted to go into the guide, it would
- 33:31Speaker 2: go all the way back to the beginning of the
- 33:34Speaker 2: of the like the first you know the first show,
- 33:37Speaker 2: like show number two, like you know Channel two, but
- 33:39Speaker 2: it's whatever show, whatever's first, and make you scroll all
- 33:42Speaker 2: the way through.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I used to hate that.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Then all of a sudden, they figured it out where
- 33:45Speaker 2: you go back, when you go into the guide, it
- 33:47Speaker 2: goes to where you're at, and you can go.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Up and down from there. They figured that shit out. Man,
- 33:53Speaker 1: the chairman, the chairman. I can't, I can't, I can't,
- 34:00Speaker 1: but yeah, man, you know, I had to get away
- 34:03Speaker 1: from the Jets game.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Yo.
- 34:04Speaker 1: I had enough today dealing with the Jets and they're bullshit.
- 34:09Speaker 1: It's the only second year in the season.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I got a lot more bullshit to sit through, and
- 34:13Speaker 2: today I was like, you know what, there's other more important.
- 34:15Speaker 2: There's other more compelling games. Right now, I'm turning the
- 34:18Speaker 2: Jets off and I rarely do that.
- 34:21Speaker 1: YO.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Shout out to everybody checking us out right now. I
- 34:23Speaker 2: don't know what platform you're on. If you're on Facebook,
- 34:26Speaker 2: if you're on YouTube, if you're on x if you're
- 34:28Speaker 2: on Instagram live, please please comment holl at me. What
- 34:33Speaker 2: did you think about today's football? Who is your team?
- 34:36Speaker 2: Who were you rooting for? I was actually rooting for
- 34:39Speaker 2: the Cardinals today, which I never do, but I needed
- 34:42Speaker 2: to see them win so I could stay in the
- 34:44Speaker 2: survivor pool. My survivor pool. I've been running the same
- 34:47Speaker 2: survivor pool since I was you know, for mad Long Yo.
- 34:51Speaker 2: And last year, I mean, I mean, and last week
- 34:54Speaker 2: was the first time that everybody got through Week one.
- 34:56Speaker 1: I've never seen it before. Never.
- 35:00Speaker 2: We had some Broncos people, they're out of here. We
- 35:05Speaker 2: had some other people who got who got bounced as well.
- 35:10Speaker 2: But yeah, man, this uh, this Jets team is an
- 35:14Speaker 2: absolute disappointment. The NFL had some compellant. Joe Burrow with
- 35:19Speaker 2: the toe. He might be out for a while, they say,
- 35:21Speaker 2: could be out for they're saying, they're saying a couple
- 35:25Speaker 2: of weeks. They said, they're saying a couple of months.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Maybe not a couple of weeks, a couple of months,
- 35:31Speaker 2: if that's the case.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Man.
- 35:32Speaker 2: And you know, once again, their offense was not looking
- 35:35Speaker 2: very good. The Cincinnati Bengals, you know, they just just
- 35:40Speaker 2: just skated by last week against the against the Browns,
- 35:46Speaker 2: and they needed the Browns to to to miss some
- 35:48Speaker 2: some field goals to be able to even make that happen.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Because I had the Bengals last week in the pool,
- 35:53Speaker 2: So I was paying attention to that game. They almost
- 35:56Speaker 2: lost they you know, they won by one point seventeen
- 35:58Speaker 2: sixteen some shit like that.
- 36:02Speaker 1: But yeah, yoda yo. Jake Browning had to come in twenty.
- 36:05Speaker 2: One to thirty two, two hundred and forty one yards,
- 36:07Speaker 2: two touchdowns, but he had three interceptions, has some big
- 36:11Speaker 2: plays down the stretch. Jamar Chase after a very pedestrian
- 36:16Speaker 2: Week one, he comes back with fourteen catches, one sixty
- 36:19Speaker 2: five in a tuddy Jamar Chase is undoubtedly one of
- 36:24Speaker 2: the better receivers in the NFL. I don't even think
- 36:26Speaker 2: that is something. I don't know one can argue against that.
- 36:29Speaker 2: But I mean when he puts up those type of
- 36:30Speaker 2: numbers with the backup quarterback.
- 36:31Speaker 1: It's like Damn and Joe Burrow.
- 36:36Speaker 2: They say, has some ligament damage, some turf toe is there?
- 36:40Speaker 2: Can he play through it? Does he have to get surgery?
- 36:43Speaker 2: You know, it's not looking good for Cincinnati. That defense
- 36:46Speaker 2: continues to be, you know, mediocre at best.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Some would say bad, some would say putrid. Trevor Lawrence.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Twenty four forty two two seventy one, three touchdowns with
- 37:01Speaker 2: the two interceptions. Trevor Lawrence was one of the most
- 37:04Speaker 2: hyped prospects ever. I wanted the Jets to get him
- 37:07Speaker 2: so bad, and the Jets end up getting the second
- 37:10Speaker 2: pick and getting Zach Wilson. We know how that went.
- 37:14Speaker 2: But Trevor Lawrence, he hasn't lived up to the hype.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Man.
- 37:17Speaker 2: I like Trevor Lawrence. I think that, you know, right situation.
- 37:21Speaker 2: He had the whole Urban Meyer Tobacco Woods.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Come on, man, you can't give.
- 37:25Speaker 2: It the guy Urban meyern Man, the pros bro that
- 37:27Speaker 2: was a that was an absolute disaster.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Disaster.
- 37:34Speaker 2: So I don't know, man, I think Trevor Lawrence in
- 37:37Speaker 2: the right situation. But as my man Greeny always says
- 37:39Speaker 2: Mike Greenberger over on ESPN, he always says, Yo, more
- 37:42Speaker 2: quarterbacks are ruined than are made.
- 37:45Speaker 1: And it's true where you come out, where you go.
- 37:49Speaker 2: There's so many guys over the years that have all
- 37:52Speaker 2: the talent. You give him a bunch of different offensive coordinators,
- 37:56Speaker 2: and you give him the wrong weapons, and you don't
- 37:58Speaker 2: put a line, you don't give him a running game,
- 38:00Speaker 2: and in a few years you know they're moving on.
- 38:03Speaker 2: And some of them you got your Baker Mayfield your
- 38:05Speaker 2: Sam Darnold's, your Gino's what two of those have in common.
- 38:08Speaker 2: They started with the Jets, but you get these guys
- 38:13Speaker 2: and some of them, hey, they end up finding a way,
- 38:16Speaker 2: They end up figuring it out, and they just either
- 38:22Speaker 2: get rushed at the beginning or they get put in
- 38:24Speaker 2: bullshit organizations and they're never able to recover from that.
- 38:28Speaker 1: You see that happen all the time.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Ravens look good. Smack the Browns forty one to seventeen.
- 38:38Speaker 2: I didn't see much of that game. Damn Lions. I
- 38:39Speaker 2: didn't know they quite put a fifty two on the Bears.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Jeesus.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Yeah, Patriots, Like I said, they beat the Dolphins. Rams
- 38:49Speaker 2: with the Titans, cam Ward had to throw the throw
- 38:52Speaker 2: that you tell guys all the time not to do
- 38:54Speaker 2: across your body, across the field, and he chucks that
- 39:02Speaker 2: thing and makes an absolute perfect throw for a touchdown.
- 39:07Speaker 2: His arm, talent, his overall moxie. Everybody says that, you know,
- 39:12Speaker 2: he's got the right personality. I think cam Ward is
- 39:15Speaker 2: gonna be a great quarterback in this league if the
- 39:19Speaker 2: Titans do the right thing by him and put the
- 39:22Speaker 2: things around him and give him the continuity that he needs.
- 39:27Speaker 2: I think he's got a chance.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Mac Jones.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Good game against the Saints forty nine ers, that team
- 39:35Speaker 2: that seems like they can plug and play just about
- 39:37Speaker 2: anybody in the quarterback or the running back position, and
- 39:41Speaker 2: they can, you know, figure out a way to put
- 39:43Speaker 2: out a decent product on the field. And are in
- 39:48Speaker 2: games Mac Jones twenty six to thirty nine, two seventy
- 39:50Speaker 2: nine and three touchdowns looking good. So yeah, man, Interestingly
- 39:58Speaker 2: in the NFL, and then tomorrow we get two games.
- 40:03Speaker 1: I don't love the Monday night doubleheaders. I don't love it.
- 40:08Speaker 1: At least this time they're broken up where they're out
- 40:10Speaker 1: running at the same time. They've done that in the past.
- 40:13Speaker 1: But you got Bucks Texans. Yo. The Texans were like
- 40:16Speaker 1: the Darlings. C J.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Stroud was like the Darling, Yo. The young quarterback was
- 40:21Speaker 2: coming up one of the best rookie seasons ever. And
- 40:24Speaker 2: now nobody thinks the Texans are doing anything.
- 40:29Speaker 1: CJ. Stroud.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Anybody tell me your top ten quarterbacks in the NFL.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Nobody's putting CJ. Stroud in the top ten his rookie season.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Everybody had them in the top ten. It just goes
- 40:43Speaker 2: to show you how quickly things can change in this league.
- 40:47Speaker 2: And then you got Chargers, Raiders. Raiders, they got old
- 40:52Speaker 2: man Pete Carroll, he don't come back. He got a
- 40:54Speaker 2: win in week one. Chargers get an impressive win against
- 40:57Speaker 2: the Chiefs in week one. You know, Jim Harbaugh never
- 41:00Speaker 2: loses in week one. But Matthew Stafford, he's doing his thing,
- 41:03Speaker 2: you know, just hard balls talking and shit. Could you know,
- 41:07Speaker 2: you know, coming for Ryan for Ryan Clark. Listen, man,
- 41:11Speaker 2: I think the Chargers might be one of those surprise teams,
- 41:14Speaker 2: and really not that much of a surprise, but I
- 41:16Speaker 2: think they could end up being one of those teams
- 41:17Speaker 2: that when we're you know, getting to the end of
- 41:19Speaker 2: the season, they're one of those top seeds in the AFC.
- 41:22Speaker 1: I could see that for sure. Faux show, yeah, man,
- 41:28Speaker 1: Jets or disaster Jets.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Next week they for the Bucks, and hey, the Bucks
- 41:32Speaker 2: are a decent team. Bucks are one and oh right
- 41:36Speaker 2: now got a chance to be two and oh if
- 41:37Speaker 2: they can beat the Texans tomorrow and the Jets play
- 41:40Speaker 2: in Tampa Bay. And after these first two weeks, we
- 41:44Speaker 2: have absolutely no idea what we're going to see, what
- 41:48Speaker 2: to expect from these Jets. But hey, man, we will
- 41:53Speaker 2: find out next week. Moving on, had enough Canelo versus Crawford,
- 42:05Speaker 2: Canelo Alvarez versus Terrence Bud Crawford last night on Netflix
- 42:13Speaker 2: and first and foremost Netflix, they figured out the live stuff.
- 42:17Speaker 2: They've gotten it right, no hiccups, Crystal Clear. I was
- 42:23Speaker 2: good with that. I thought that the commentary team andre
- 42:30Speaker 2: Ward and Max Kellerman and dude from the UFC.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Why am I forgetting his name? But uh, I thought
- 42:44Speaker 1: everything was good. I thought everything was good.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Yeah, Terrence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez, John Annick, There we go,
- 42:52Speaker 2: John Annick, Max Kellerman and andre Ward, there we go.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Yeah. John Annick is excellent.
- 42:56Speaker 2: I mean, come on, he's when it comes to the UFC,
- 42:59Speaker 2: nobody does it as well as he does.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Nobody ever has as far as the play by play.
- 43:03Speaker 2: And then, you know, I'm glad to hear, just glad
- 43:06Speaker 2: to see Max Killuman being back out there. Whatever happened
- 43:09Speaker 2: with him in ESPN and the fact that you know,
- 43:12Speaker 2: Steve and they got rid of him. I know, he
- 43:14Speaker 2: was getting paid pretty well to just basically had not
- 43:16Speaker 2: have a job, and you know, but he kind of
- 43:19Speaker 2: just fell off the map for a while. But Max
- 43:20Speaker 2: Kelluman needs to be doing boxing. He's he's he's a
- 43:23Speaker 2: great boxing commentator. I thought he did a great job.
- 43:25Speaker 2: And andre Ward, I don't know, you know, he's fantastic.
- 43:28Speaker 2: You know, there's a lot of former fighters who go
- 43:30Speaker 2: into doing some sort of commentary and none of them
- 43:34Speaker 2: have done it better than andre Ward. Uh.
- 43:38Speaker 1: You know, there's some that have done it, there's some
- 43:41Speaker 1: that have done it well.
- 43:43Speaker 2: I'm having a hard time feeling like I know of
- 43:44Speaker 2: anybody who've done it as well as andre Ward. He's great,
- 43:49Speaker 2: and there was some some good there was some good
- 43:52Speaker 2: uh prelims yo, that one fight with the uh with
- 43:58Speaker 2: the with the with the.
- 43:59Speaker 1: African dude and Bibi what was that? That was his
- 44:03Speaker 1: name in Bibi? Yeah, and Billy or some Shiita what
- 44:11Speaker 1: was his name? Let me find out chat what was
- 44:13Speaker 1: his name? Helped me out. But that fight was an absolute.
- 44:17Speaker 2: War and there was you know, typically that's the thing
- 44:23Speaker 2: when you watch boxing. You don't know any of the
- 44:25Speaker 2: people that are fighting in the undercard, and it's just
- 44:30Speaker 2: like overall, it's a very it's very weighted towards let's
- 44:37Speaker 2: see these big two names, and quite often that fight
- 44:42Speaker 2: doesn't even live up and for years in boxing, we
- 44:47Speaker 2: never actually got to see the biggest fighters in their
- 44:51Speaker 2: primes were at least close to it fight each other.
- 44:55Speaker 1: It seems like that's a new there's a new day
- 44:56Speaker 1: in boxing now. Now we got that, we got.
- 44:58Speaker 2: That Saudi money, that Qatar money coming in. You know,
- 45:04Speaker 2: you always see a dude, You always see some sort
- 45:06Speaker 2: of chic sitting in the first row, and hey man,
- 45:11Speaker 2: when that type of money comes in, When that that
- 45:13Speaker 2: when guys like Dana White start getting involved, because we know,
- 45:17Speaker 2: when it comes to the UFC, the best of the
- 45:20Speaker 2: best fight the best of the best. There ain't no
- 45:22Speaker 2: ducking no fights, ain't no keeping some guy undefeated and
- 45:26Speaker 2: trying to none no, none, that don't.
- 45:28Speaker 1: Work there in boxing.
- 45:29Speaker 2: Maybe we're seeing a new day at a new age and
- 45:32Speaker 2: we can get back to, you know, the great times
- 45:35Speaker 2: of the fight game of the sweet science. The undercar
- 45:39Speaker 2: that that that I was talking about was Christian and
- 45:42Speaker 2: Billy versus Lester Martinez and Billy I think he's from Camroon.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Lester Martinez Mexican dude.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Yesterday it was Mexican Independence Day, so we had quite
- 45:52Speaker 2: a few you know, Mexican fighters on the bill. Of course,
- 45:56Speaker 2: obviously Canelos like a national holiday whenever he I'm pretty
- 46:00Speaker 2: sure he fights Mexican Independence Day every single year. Feels like,
- 46:05Speaker 2: go ahead and just and just go ahead and chalk
- 46:07Speaker 2: that up that your boy Canelo is going to be fighting.
- 46:12Speaker 2: And Billy versus Martinez, if there's ever been a draw
- 46:15Speaker 2: that was a draw ends up being a split draw,
- 46:20Speaker 2: and that fight was just two dudes slugging it out.
- 46:24Speaker 2: Amazing Chin's amazing stamina, very very very fight. It was
- 46:27Speaker 2: a very good fight. It was an absolute war. But
- 46:30Speaker 2: then the main event, Terence Crawford versus Canelo Alvarez. What
- 46:33Speaker 2: we saw was Terrence Crawford really shocked the world, the
- 46:38Speaker 2: boxing world, because everybody, I mean the vast majority of
- 46:42Speaker 2: people I saw talk about this talked about the fact
- 46:44Speaker 2: that Canelo was just going to be too big, that
- 46:48Speaker 2: Canelo was going to have too much power for Crawford,
- 46:55Speaker 2: who is coming up and wait and now looking to
- 47:02Speaker 2: be the undisputed champion in a fourth weight class, going
- 47:08Speaker 2: up against the Cannelo Alvarez, who they said was in
- 47:11Speaker 2: some of the best shape that he's ever been in,
- 47:13Speaker 2: that he came in hungry, yo, Crawford outclassed him from
- 47:19Speaker 2: the very beginning. I scored the fight. I had Canelo
- 47:22Speaker 2: winning two rounds, two out of the twelve. I thought
- 47:28Speaker 2: that every time that he was able to land a
- 47:31Speaker 2: big shot, he never once put Crawford back on his heels.
- 47:35Speaker 2: I thought that Crawford counterpunched just beautifully, and Crawford was
- 47:41Speaker 2: the more active fighter, was the one that was bringing
- 47:43Speaker 2: it to him. Hey, listen minute, excuse me, yo, I'm sorry,
- 47:51Speaker 2: but I don't know what these rests were seeing. Look,
- 47:54Speaker 2: you gotta beat the champ. And that's what I loved
- 47:57Speaker 2: about Crawford while he came out in those last two rounds,
- 47:59Speaker 2: even though he was up on everybody except for the
- 48:02Speaker 2: two judges that were sitting you know, ringside, that had
- 48:06Speaker 2: the fight even going into the eleventh and twelfth. Those
- 48:13Speaker 2: are the two that ended up scoring the fight one
- 48:15Speaker 2: fifteen to one thirteen. I thought that I thought that
- 48:20Speaker 2: Canelo maybe won two rounds. I thought Crawford was the
- 48:24Speaker 2: more active fighter. I thought he was landing the more
- 48:26Speaker 2: significant shots. He was the one landing shots that were
- 48:29Speaker 2: making Canelo step back. He was the one, you know
- 48:32Speaker 2: that iconic shot the left that we saw where you know,
- 48:35Speaker 2: Canelo is turning his head but still catches it clean
- 48:38Speaker 2: and the sweat is coming off. That's the That's the
- 48:41Speaker 2: biggest photo that I've seen of this fight.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Since it went down.
- 48:47Speaker 2: And Bud Crawford, now he's the best fighter of this era,
- 48:52Speaker 2: and he is you gotta start talking about him one
- 48:56Speaker 2: of the greatest fighters of all time. To do what
- 48:58Speaker 2: he's done, to be able to go up and wait
- 49:01Speaker 2: as he has and continue to get better, to get stronger,
- 49:04Speaker 2: and to take out the best of the best at
- 49:06Speaker 2: whatever weight class he goes to. I mean, come on, man,
- 49:12Speaker 2: it's not too many guys who can do that. And
- 49:14Speaker 2: I thought that he was totally in control. He was
- 49:16Speaker 2: doing that thing where he was smiling and laughing at Canelo,
- 49:20Speaker 2: which typically when you see a guy get hit hard
- 49:23Speaker 2: and he does that smiling shit, I'm like, my pops
- 49:25Speaker 2: always says that, oh he's actually really hurt. Nah, not Bud,
- 49:29Speaker 2: if you watch Bud, because Bud will also give you
- 49:31Speaker 2: some props and say, Okay, that one actually was a
- 49:33Speaker 2: good shot.
- 49:35Speaker 1: But Canelo wasn't hurting him. Man, he didn't hurt him once.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Once you saw that he could deal with that power,
- 49:44Speaker 2: and once you saw that he could stop Canelo in
- 49:49Speaker 2: his tracks and make him take a step back with
- 49:51Speaker 2: his power. It's like, yo, as long as he don't
- 49:55Speaker 2: get too cocky and get caught, he gonna win this fight.
- 49:58Speaker 2: And that's exactly what he did. He asked absolutely outclassed,
- 50:01Speaker 2: out boxed, outworked, and he outpower punched Canelo Alvarez. Nobody
- 50:12Speaker 2: had that, Nobody thought that he was going to be
- 50:15Speaker 2: the guy who looked like he was doing more damage
- 50:18Speaker 2: with his shots. Canelo was loading up, trying to catch
- 50:20Speaker 2: him with big ones, and he caught. He caught Bud
- 50:24Speaker 2: a couple of times, but he didn't catch him often.
- 50:26Speaker 2: And Bud was standing in there and he was making
- 50:29Speaker 2: Canelo pay, hitting him with combinations. Every single time that
- 50:33Speaker 2: Canelo was coming in and was throwing, you know that
- 50:37Speaker 2: big punch, he was catching two or three on the
- 50:38Speaker 2: way out, and they were not just like two or
- 50:40Speaker 2: three just like Pat Pap he was. He was he
- 50:42Speaker 2: was really making sure that he was making them count
- 50:45Speaker 2: the counter punching, and then there was times where Bud
- 50:48Speaker 2: was just bringing it to Canelo and he was just
- 50:50Speaker 2: too quick.
- 50:52Speaker 1: The movement was fantastic.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Obviously he's in fantastic shape, and it was just it
- 50:58Speaker 2: was a world.
- 50:59Speaker 1: It was.
- 50:59Speaker 2: It was a master class. It was a master class
- 51:03Speaker 2: by Bud Crawford. It was a very entertaining fight. You
- 51:06Speaker 2: don't always get entertaining fights when you get to the
- 51:10Speaker 2: main event in boxing. But these guys were out there,
- 51:14Speaker 2: they weren't. There's there was very I mean, how many
- 51:16Speaker 2: times did they get you know, the ref have to
- 51:17Speaker 2: come in and and and and and you know, go
- 51:20Speaker 2: ahead and separate them. How many times did that happened
- 51:23Speaker 2: in the fight. It was a good fight, man, It
- 51:25Speaker 2: was a good fight. And Bud hots off to you brother.
- 51:28Speaker 2: You you one of the greatest of all time. It
- 51:30Speaker 2: was a it was a legacy fight. It was him
- 51:32Speaker 2: really showing the world that he is the best fighter
- 51:35Speaker 2: of this era.
- 51:36Speaker 1: He is. It's not Canelo, clearly, and Canelo. Canelo was about.
- 51:40Speaker 2: As gracious as you can be in a loss. Canelo
- 51:43Speaker 2: kind of looked like a guy to meet us, like
- 51:44Speaker 2: about Dune, just as far as the way he was
- 51:47Speaker 2: just so at peace with the loss afterwards, and just
- 51:50Speaker 2: like you know, hey, I think he got one hundred
- 51:51Speaker 2: and fifty million, Bud only got fifty. He's like, hey,
- 51:55Speaker 2: let's do it, let's do a rematch whatever, and you know,
- 51:59Speaker 2: he's given bud Man props is doing his thing. You know,
- 52:02Speaker 2: Canelo's chin is crazy because even though he put he
- 52:06Speaker 2: stepped in back. You know, it's not like Canelos ever
- 52:08Speaker 2: like wobbled or anything like that.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Neither guy was.
- 52:10Speaker 2: They both have excellent chins, but Canelo Canelo. See the
- 52:14Speaker 2: thing about Canelo is this Canelo is Mexican and he.
- 52:18Speaker 1: Got red hair.
- 52:19Speaker 2: So there's a good chance that he's got a little
- 52:21Speaker 2: Irish in him too. A lot of people don't know that,
- 52:23Speaker 2: the Irish people. I'm pretty sure it was doing the
- 52:24Speaker 2: potato famine. There was a big influx of Irish people
- 52:28Speaker 2: who actually came over and settled up and set up
- 52:30Speaker 2: shopping Mexico. That's why you see a lot of these
- 52:33Speaker 2: ginger Mexicans. So if Canelo got Mexican roots and Irish roots,
- 52:38Speaker 2: that means his chin is made of absolute granite and stone.
- 52:43Speaker 1: They are Historically in the fight game.
- 52:47Speaker 2: People from those descents can just just just they're out
- 52:52Speaker 2: there and they can just fight, and they can take
- 52:54Speaker 2: a shot, and they're out there and you know, just
- 52:56Speaker 2: great chins, and they'll never stop fighting. They'll never stop
- 52:59Speaker 2: throwing punches and Canelo's chin. I mean, the guy, how
- 53:04Speaker 2: many times his Canelo.
- 53:05Speaker 1: Ha been rocked in his career? I can't remember. Just
- 53:09Speaker 1: let you can't. You can't.
- 53:10Speaker 2: You definitely don't need two hands to count it.
- 53:14Speaker 1: So shot to Canelo. Man, it was a good, good
- 53:16Speaker 1: showing by him. But Crawford is a better fighter. Crawford
- 53:19Speaker 1: is the better fighter.
- 53:20Speaker 2: The only question was would he be able to deal
- 53:23Speaker 2: with the size and with the punching power of Canelo.
- 53:26Speaker 1: And he showed, you know, he.
- 53:29Speaker 2: Showed very very clearly that he was able to do
- 53:33Speaker 2: exactly that, and he was able to deliver.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Some punishment himself. And he's the better boxer. And from
- 53:39Speaker 1: the very beginning of the fighterbody's like, oh, Canelos so
- 53:41Speaker 1: much bigger? You know. Okay, now we see these guys.
- 53:43Speaker 1: There's no rehydration clause.
- 53:44Speaker 2: They're in the ring, and when I'm looking to the
- 53:45Speaker 2: next next, I'm looking at the next with each other
- 53:47Speaker 2: in the ring. I'm like, Canelo's not that much bigger
- 53:49Speaker 2: than him. It's not like he's towering over him, you know,
- 53:52Speaker 2: height wise, for sure, we know that, and then size wise,
- 53:55Speaker 2: I'm like that, just you know, he's not that much
- 53:57Speaker 2: bigger than him. Bud looked big, he looked strong, he
- 54:02Speaker 2: looked fast. He was too quick for Canelo, and he
- 54:05Speaker 2: was just the superior boxer man he was. You know,
- 54:07Speaker 2: he was in the South Paul, and he was able
- 54:10Speaker 2: to avoid the big shots for the most part, and
- 54:14Speaker 2: he was able to deliver and the counterpunching was fantastic.
- 54:18Speaker 2: Let's talk about a a little bit of Mets, my
- 54:20Speaker 2: New York Mets man. We were finally able to get
- 54:24Speaker 2: a win today. He had McLain on the mound. He
- 54:29Speaker 2: was doing his thing playing against Texas.
- 54:33Speaker 1: The metsa losers of eighth straight. They go up too.
- 54:37Speaker 2: Oh of course Reid Garrett comes in and he gives
- 54:41Speaker 2: up the two runs and now we find ourselves in
- 54:44Speaker 2: the bottom of the ninth, unable to score.
- 54:47Speaker 1: Game gets in the extras in a tenth inning.
- 54:49Speaker 2: Ryan Stanek, who has had a very down season after
- 54:54Speaker 2: you know, being a deadline pick up and being great
- 54:56Speaker 2: for the Mets last year. Ryan Stanneck has not had
- 54:59Speaker 2: a good season for the Mets. They continue to try
- 55:02Speaker 2: to figure it out with him. I feel like him
- 55:03Speaker 2: and Helsley, the two guys that Mendoza keeps just being
- 55:06Speaker 2: like yo man, just we gotta throw them out there
- 55:08Speaker 2: and hope that they can get it right.
- 55:09Speaker 1: We gotta hope they figure it out.
- 55:12Speaker 2: And Stanik gets himself in a little bit of trouble,
- 55:16Speaker 2: but he's able to in the top of the tenth
- 55:20Speaker 2: get out of it without giving up a run. With
- 55:22Speaker 2: the run starting on, with the runner starting on second,
- 55:25Speaker 2: he's able to get out of it with a double
- 55:27Speaker 2: play ball that has hit two Lindor. He steps on second,
- 55:32Speaker 2: doubles up the man on second line drive. We're out
- 55:36Speaker 2: of there. Sank you know, comes out of there. Mister
- 55:39Speaker 2: rock On, he's all excited getting out of there. The
- 55:43Speaker 2: crowd is hyped up. We come out, Bob and the
- 55:46Speaker 2: tenth Pete Alonso comes up, two men on and Alonzo
- 55:52Speaker 2: goes yard opposite way, walk off, three run home run.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Mets win five to two. They snap the eight game wins.
- 56:00Speaker 2: They're able to get back up to one game ahead
- 56:04Speaker 2: in the wild card for that third wild card spot,
- 56:09Speaker 2: got twelve games to play. Man, you've been a Met
- 56:13Speaker 2: fan from for a long time. You've seen the Mets
- 56:16Speaker 2: be up by seven games with fourteen to play and
- 56:21Speaker 2: lose back in two thousand and seven to the Phillies
- 56:24Speaker 2: and allow them to hawk them down for the NL
- 56:28Speaker 2: East and end up not making the playoffs.
- 56:32Speaker 1: This is before the wild Card. We've seen that from
- 56:36Speaker 1: these Mets's.
- 56:37Speaker 2: Man, We've seen that before, and now the Mets they
- 56:39Speaker 2: control their own destiny. They have a chance to get
- 56:44Speaker 2: into the playoffs. Once they get into the playoffs, anything
- 56:46Speaker 2: can happened. Listen, the Mets have been one of the
- 56:48Speaker 2: most up and down teams. They were one of the
- 56:49Speaker 2: best teams in the MLB within the first couple months
- 56:52Speaker 2: twenty games over five hundred. Since then, we've been absolutely terrible.
- 56:56Speaker 2: We've been like the fourth worst, best of the first
- 56:59Speaker 2: the fourth worst team in baseball these last few months.
- 57:04Speaker 2: And hey man, baseball is one of those seasons, up
- 57:07Speaker 2: and down. You get hot at the right time. They
- 57:09Speaker 2: were able to get off the schneid today. I got
- 57:14Speaker 2: to keep it a buck. When it comes to my
- 57:15Speaker 2: guy Sterens, I love David, you know I love Sterens.
- 57:20Speaker 2: I think that we have a young, bright baseball mind
- 57:23Speaker 2: who was able to build up Milwaukee into being a
- 57:26Speaker 2: perennially good team even though they didn't have the type
- 57:30Speaker 2: of resources that we now have.
- 57:31Speaker 1: With Uncle Stevie.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Cohen as our owner, and as a huge fan of
- 57:37Speaker 2: the Mets. But Cearns has not had He hasn't had
- 57:41Speaker 2: a good year from not addressing the starting pitching and
- 57:45Speaker 2: addressing it with names like Frankie Montas bringing back Manaya
- 57:51Speaker 2: but not Quintana, and the deadline moves have just been
- 57:56Speaker 2: all bad. Cedric Mullins a bum. He did end up
- 58:01Speaker 2: getting a hit today late in the game, but he's
- 58:04Speaker 2: a bum. He's been horrible, and Hellsley horrible. You don't
- 58:12Speaker 2: get Baiter instead, you get Cedric Mullins. Baiter goes to
- 58:16Speaker 2: Philly and just starts raking and hits like four hundred
- 58:19Speaker 2: against the Mets. Destroys us. Hasn't been a good year
- 58:23Speaker 2: for a guy Stearns, and it has not been a
- 58:27Speaker 2: good year for the Mets. We come in with a
- 58:29Speaker 2: ton of expectations. We add Juan Soto, who, though he
- 58:33Speaker 2: struggled early, has been fantastic in the second half, really
- 58:38Speaker 2: definitely these last few months, and ends up, you know,
- 58:41Speaker 2: having a forty thirty season and being top I think
- 58:44Speaker 2: three in the National League in walks, ribby's and runs.
- 58:51Speaker 2: So Wan Soto ends up having a Jan Soto season,
- 58:55Speaker 2: even if it is somewhat of a down year for
- 58:56Speaker 2: him in certain categories. Over All, he's having a very
- 59:02Speaker 2: good season. Pete Alonzo, he's got what one hundred and
- 59:08Speaker 2: what one hundred and twenty I mean rbies. Pet Alanso
- 59:10Speaker 2: I have I think he's got a LIS one hundred
- 59:15Speaker 2: and fifteen, one hundred and twenty something like that.
- 59:18Speaker 1: Where are we at?
- 59:19Speaker 2: Peter Alonzo, Reribbi stakes one seventeen thirty four home runs,
- 59:27Speaker 2: He's got an eight to fifty two OPS, Juan Soto's
- 59:29Speaker 2: got a nine to twenty one OPS.
- 59:31Speaker 1: Lindor having a somewhat.
- 59:32Speaker 2: Down year offensively and defensively, to be quite frank, But
- 59:37Speaker 2: really this team, and it's been the pitching. At the
- 59:40Speaker 2: very beginning of the season, the starting pitching was much
- 59:42Speaker 2: better than we thought it would be. Recently, the starting pitching,
- 59:44Speaker 2: the bullpen, and just the overall situational and timeliness of
- 59:49Speaker 2: the timeliness of the pitching has been horrible a lot
- 59:53Speaker 2: of the times last year when Carlos Mendoza was making
- 59:56Speaker 2: all the right moves, this year hasn't gone that way.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: But hey, end of the day, look, hopefully the Mets
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: can figure out a way to get hot right now,
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: right now, it's gonna happen right now. Cincinnati, the Giants,
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: they're breathing down our neck. One game back. The Giants
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: have been one of the hottest teams in baseball. Hopefully
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: it's time for them to get, you know, a little
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: bit back to earth and fall off a little bit.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: But when it comes to when it comes to this
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: baseball season, there's always gonna be peaks and valleys. There's
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: always gonna be ups and downs, And the only thing
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: that you can hope is that the Mets just had
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: a valley and we're gonna get a peak and it's
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: gonna ride us straight through the end of October.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: That's all you can hope for.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: You know, a lot of people want to give Mendoza
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: a hard time. There's so many people on you know
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: X that I see that talk about got to get
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: rid of Mendoza, get this guy out of here. They
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: want to talk about all of you know, his decisions
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: that he's made that haven't gone the Mets' way. And
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: quite frankly, man, there has been a lot of times
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: that I've questioned his decisions this year. But last year
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: he rolled all sevens and eleven's. This year, you knew
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: he was gonna roll some snake guys.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: Can y'all? Hear my dog snoring right now? Ox come, here,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Come here, ox Come, My dog comes in.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: He sleeps under my bed every single night. He's one
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: hundred and you know, ten pounds bulldog. He sleeps underneath there.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: He snores, he farts, farts sometimes absolutely brutal.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: But I mean, if I make this dog.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: Sleep anywhere under to let him sleep anywhere under the
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: other than right underneath me in the bed, he goes crazy.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Ox Come, he's being shy. So hey, you know, at
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: the end of the day, man, look, I.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: Don't know what's gonna end up happening with these Mets.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: It would be a real big disappointment if we didn't
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: make it to the playoffs. We got to make it
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: to the playoffs, for sure, that it has to happen.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: You got to make the playoffs. If they don't make
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: the playoffs, then the season is a disappointment in my
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: opinion for sure, and everybody's opinion it should be.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: This should be a huge.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: Disappointment with the expectations that we came in. We add
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: one soda, he picks us over the Yankees, But we
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: didn't do enough to address the starting lineup, and you know,
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: there's no way you can see Healthley end up working
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: out the way he did he did.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: I mean, that's just.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: The guy's been one of the better back end of
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: the rotation reliever, I mean back into the game of
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: relievers for years, and you know he's been he's been horrible.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: He's been horrible since he's become a Met.
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: So hopefully the Mets can figure out a way to
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: get hot and we can figure out way to get done.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: But it was nice to get off the schneid today.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: It was nice for Pete to get that big hit,
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: drive the ball the opposite way, which we know he
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: does so well. And you know, the Mets get a w.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: The Mets get to get to, you know, feel good
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: ending series. They had just lost eighth straight, but hey, they.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: Get this one win.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: And you never know what could happen in baseball from
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: one day to the next, from one year to the next,
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: from one series to the next.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: It can all change.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: There's no other sport that is as unpredictable as baseball.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: And there's no other sport where you know, the overall
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: momentum of a run, both good or bad, can either
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: elevate or completely.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: And totally sink your season. So hey, here's hopefully the Mets.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: We went through our tough times and that was time
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: for one of those upswings and let's see if we
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: can ride it all the way through the end of October.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: But I will tell you, man, you know, pitching wise,
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: it's gonna be tough. You got McClain and then you
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: got Peterson, and then after that, you're not confident in anybody,
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: confident with anybody.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: You can't have this Jonah Tong if you can't.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: Be confident in him. In the playoffs, you have Manaiah
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: who has been up and down. You have Clay Holmes,
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: who you know, I was hoping that we'd be able
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: to like push him into into like a Peterson role
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: from last year where he can be like a long
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: slash situational guy for the bullpen.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: I don't know, man, I don't know. I don't know.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: Mendoza's gonna have to pull all the right strings. He's
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: gonna need some luck when it comes to this rotation.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: If the Mets get into the postseason, if once you
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: get in, it's gonna.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Be a wild card spot, three game series. Anything can happen.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: Anything can happen. Man, We'll see what else we got.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: Knicks basketball is almost here, almost here. Nick star early
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: because they are going to be playing in Abu Dhabi
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: against it's the right, yeah, against the Sixers October second
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: nine am. Oh, because in Abu Dhabi. What day of
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: the week is October.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Second nine am? Come on, man, you boy's gonna be
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: at work trying to watch the Nick game. I'm still watch.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: I mean, we're gonna put it on the phone. We're
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: gonna figure out a way to do something.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: But yeah, the Knicks open up their season, man, and
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: this is the most anticipated and the highest expectations for
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: a k next team since I can remember.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: Yeah that's a Thursday. Yeah I'm Kapoor.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: And so yeah, man, this next team, they got a
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: lot of expectations. They have a team that made it
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: to the Eastern Conference finals last year. They lose to
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: the Pacers, that gave one loss where they let the
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: Pacers come back, where Halliburton shoots that ball that goes
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: off the heel, goes straight up and falls down, which
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: if you've watched and played basketball throughout your life, you
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: know that that is so unlikely.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: It almost never happens.
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: But the Knicks, they come into this season, they have
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: added Yabo Seely, They've added Jordan Clarkson, They got Shammit
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: brogged in and Garrison Matthews all on unguaranteed camp invite contracts,
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: all basically.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Fighting for a play for and for a for a
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: spot on the roster.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: The Knicks got people coming to them to fight for spots,
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: to to possibly get to a team that they dude
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: to a ring chasing or coming to the Knicks now,
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: is that is that what's happening. Clarkson taking a minimum deal,
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: yaboo Seeley taking a deal lower than then he you know,
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: possibly or could have or that that he you know,
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: could have gotten. They say there was other teams in
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: the mix that we're willing to offer him more. Y'all
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: will see Lee the garden gonna love this dude. This
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: dude plays with energy, He blocks shots, he hits threes.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: He's out there yelling in French at the national team
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: getting them hyped up. Yo, the garden is gonna love
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: this team. Him and Clarkson are exactly what the Knicks
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: were missing, that energy off the bench and somebody who
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: could come in and create a shot, and and and
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: can get a bucket.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: That's exactly what Jordan Clarkson is.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: I've been begging the Knicks to get Jordan Clarkson or
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: Brogden at the deadline at different times in the last
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: four or five years, so many times, and both of them.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: We know that Clarkson's gonna be in the team. Brogden
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: might be on the squad too. Yo, man, the Knicks,
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: hey man, a lot of expectations. As we know, we
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: need luck, we need injury luck, we need health. But
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: I'm telling you Bridges is going to be a lot
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: better in his second year, with just a second year
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: of comfort and with a coach who is I think
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: is going to utilize him and is gonna put him
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: in position to be able to.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: Excel and accentuate his strengths.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: We're gonna have a much bigger rotation because our bench
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: is better, but we're also gonna have a much bigger
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: rotation just because Mike Brown is gonna play more guys
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: than Tims did. Let's not pile on TIBs. I like Tims,
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: I'm a TIBs guy. It was time to move on,
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: and I'm excited to see what Mike Brown's gonna be
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: able to do with this team and with this roster.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: I'm excited to see what Cat is gonna look like,
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: understanding what this team needs for him, what it is
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: to be a Nick and and and coming into his
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: second year. I'm excited to see what Jaalen Brunson is
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: gonna look like without having to handle the ball and
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: create so much, playoff the ball a little bit more,
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: and just continue to mature and take his game to
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: another level. I'm excited to see what the starting lineup
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: is gonna be. We're gonna go double bigs or we're
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: gonna go deuce in the back court. I've even seen
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: some people talk about Yaboo Seeley playing the four. I
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: don't know, we'll see, but it's gonna be an interesting
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: season for the Knicks. I can't wait for it to
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: get started.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: Please please, please, please, just let's get through camp no injuries.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: Go to Abu Dhabi, whip up on the Sixers, my
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: one of my least favorite teams in the NBA.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: What's up with Joel Embi is he? Is he gonna
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: be ready to play? This is bothering me, sorry, but yeah, what's.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: Up with m B is he gonna be able to play,
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: I don't think so. I think he's out for who
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: knows what that guy.
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: And then yeah, six Ers. I don't know Maxie.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: I don't know exactly what his deal is, but I
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: know I know that in the Eastern Conference, you got
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: the Calves and you got the Knicks. And I know
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: that when you want to talk about deepest rosters in
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: the NBA, you got the Thunder and you got the Knicks.
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: So it's gonna be an interesting season. Interesting season for sure,
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: and with big expectations. You know, I'm a Knicks, Mets
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: and Jets fan that that doesn't usually go so well
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: for us.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: But I got faith, man, this Knicks.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: Regime with Leon Rose at the top, Tibbs laid the foundation.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: It was time for us to level up. Mike Brown
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: is time for It's your time, man, It's your time,
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: Mike Brown. It's your time to get to the Promised Land,
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: and it's your time to go ahead and lead this
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: New York Knicks team. Jalen Brunson, he is our lord
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: and savior as Knicks fans, and I just can't wait
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: to see how this basketball season plays out. I already
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: feel like the Jets season is gonna be a long
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: and a tough one. And this Mets season has been
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: a rollercoaster and we just nosedived and hopefully we're picking
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: ourselves back up, and who knows where that can go.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: But you know, hey, man, sports is fun. It's the
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: ultimate reality show, is like, as my pops likes to say,
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: And it'll always be fun and I'll always be here
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: to chop it up with y'all and tell you how
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: I feel. Definitely replay a game, get in the comments,
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: tell me how you feel. Come at me, man, if
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: you disagree with me, if you think I'm being a fool,
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: come for me.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: I promise you I will reply. I do not promise
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: to be nice. I probably won't be nice, but will
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: have some fun.
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it's your boy, and I see peace, right,
