- 1:08I'm also learning that many of us are going through hormonal imbalanced.
- 1:13What does, you know, with your menstrual cycles, menopause perimenopause.
- 1:17Or you just feel off in your body.

- 1:29With, Negative the proper treatment, but this will also help.
- 1:33The way you communicate with your doctors so that you can get the best care possible.
- 1:38So last week we talked about.
- 1:41The testing.
- 1:41You need to test for your hormones?
- 1:44We cannot guess.
- 1:45And my test.
- 1:47of choice is saliva.
- 1:49Because saliva helps identify hormones or the.
- 1:54Free that are looking for a receptor site because that's the hormones that are readily available to enter ourselves that our tissues, our organs.
- 2:03To help us perform at our best.
- 2:05And this week, we're going to talk about PMs.
- 2:08PMDD estrogen.
- 2:10And then next we will talk about PCO S.
- 2:12Progesterone.
- 2:13And then we'll see if we have time.
- 2:15Infuse a little bit of endometriosis, but all right, so let's get started now, if you have not, before we get started, if you have not grab the hormone balancer.
- 2:24Recipe.
- 2:25Guide.
- 2:26I would highly, highly encourage you do so.
- 2:29Because as we are.
- 2:31At the time of recording, we're about to go into Christmas and new is.
- 2:33And I know many of us are looking for ways to Uplevel our healthy eating.
- 2:38So the homeowner.
- 2:40Balance or recipe guys can help you start your healthy eating.
- 2:45Going into 2024.
- 2:47All right.
- 2:48It is a free resource.
- 2:49these are a few recipes that are extracted from my current hormone and sex survival program.
- 2:55recipes meal plans that I give to my patients and I put them in a nice layer for you to help you start eating healthy.
- 3:02So you can start feeding your body, the nutrients that it needs to work for.
- 3:06You.
- 3:07Again, it's free.
- 3:08I have something for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- 3:10There's a T.
- 3:11I have smoothies in there.
- 3:12Like literally if you grab the Homeland balancer recipe guide, and we give it seven days and you eat the food that's in it.
- 3:19Again, until you, you will start feeling better.
- 3:21You see a difference because you will be decreased in the toxins.
- 3:25And that you could be.
- 3:26eating from the food that you eat now, and you will also infuse the nutrients to help your body perform.
- 3:34Then of course you should still test your hormones.
- 3:36So she still.
- 3:37Identify the root cause of your problem.
- 3:38And she still go see a doctor and see which homes you need to balance.
- 3:43You should do all the things, but I don't want you to wait until you do all of that.
- 3:47To start your To such a healthy journey.
- 3:49Because as I mentioned before, the way we eat to balance our hormones is different than the way we eat for all the health issues.
- 3:55So let's get started PMs.
- 3:57Pre menstrual syndrome is often misdiagnosed as a psychological problem.
- 4:03Because of all the symptoms.
- 4:04But it is a hormone disorder that happens two weeks before ministration, where most people can experience both physical, psychological symptoms that will do.
- 4:15Shortly after when bleed starts, when you start bleeding.
- 4:19So two weeks before you start your period, many people, we have, you know, emotional issues.
- 4:23Psychological issues, emotional physical issues.
- 4:26And that's what we call premenstrual syndrome.
- 4:29But you mentioned syndrome.
- 4:30Now research stated that more than 85% of woman.
- 4:35Experienced BMS.
- 4:36So it's a large population.
- 4:39More than 40 of those 85 people.
- 4:41They experienced VMs also experienced P M D D, which is premenstrual dysphoric disorder.
- 4:48What the symptoms of PMs, a worst and debilitating.
- 4:52And affect the quality of your life.
- 4:54So we have PMs.
- 4:56And we have PMDD.
- 4:57So think about PMDD as PMs symptoms.
- 5:00Like.
- 5:00Threefold exacerbated.
- 5:02I'll go over different types of PMs and we'll go over the symptoms with PMDD.
- 5:07You will see you have severe emotional, cognitive and physical functional impairment.
- 5:13So that's how severe this.
- 5:15syndrome is because the body responds differently from the hormone fluctuations that are happening.
- 5:22Lots of neurotransmitter involvement with PMDD, like serotonin.
- 5:26Gabba.
- 5:27dopamine, the feel good hormones.
- 5:28So that is why with PMDD, we see a lot of emotional and cognitive symptoms with patients experiencing this type of.
- 5:36This four week disorder.
- 5:38So it's one thing to have PMs, but PMD this, like.
- 5:41Elevated symptoms.
- 5:42So, as you could imagine, If you have PMDD, it is going to be harder to treat.
- 5:48So PMs is easier to treat., because when it comes to P M D D premenstrual dysphoric disorder, you really have to think about.
- 5:56The hormones and also the neurotransmitters.
- 5:59So that's why people would be in the game.
- 6:01PMs, get put on, you know, into the present anti-anxiety medications, because they are looking at this group of individuals, as I can know the crazy.
- 6:10But when in fact they have like multiple things going on with them and it's not their fault that they feel the way they felt.
- 6:17so let's talk about.
- 6:18What causes PMs slash PMDD.
- 6:20So changes in hormone levels, too much estrogen or too little estrogen, not enough.
- 6:25Progesterone again, the homeless are fluctuating, so therefore you can have too much of one, not enough.
- 6:30So that's why we need to test.
- 6:31Higher toxicity level.
- 6:33Taiwan issues, not enough fatty acid in your body.
- 6:36Prolactin deficiency.
- 6:38PMs PMDD.
- 6:39They can also be caused by fluid and electrolyte imbalances, where you have too much sodium.
- 6:44Not enough potassium.
- 6:45Those that drink.
- 6:46A lot of caffeine can also put you at risk for PMs.
- 6:50Blood sugar issues, sometimes low blood sugar.
- 6:53Most often slow blood sugar.
- 6:54But stress.
- 6:56Can also cause VMs nutritional deficiencies.
- 6:58If you're not feeding your body department nutrients to help balance and produce those hormones.
- 7:03You can put yourself into, We minstrel.
- 7:05Regularities or we'll contraceptive.
- 7:08Yes.
- 7:08There's a lot of old pills out there.
- 7:10The IUD, the patch.
- 7:11that are, that have fake or synthetic, stairs.
- 7:14hormones that could create later on as you get your period, this dysfunction.
- 7:19partial hysterectomy is one of the cause.
- 7:21I mean, there are so many causes of PMs, but these are the most common.
- 7:24we're going to go over the list of the symptoms for both PMs and PMDD.
- 7:28And remember the symptoms are enhanced with PA PM.
- 7:31PMDD.
- 7:31Right.
- 7:31So when I go over the list, Just think about.
- 7:34You know, these things that three times higher that we hire.
- 7:37we're going to discuss different types of PMs, as I mentioned, and we're going to visit, some, you know, these symptoms and I'm also gonna tell you guys what you should be considering when it comes to healing or navigating Those symptoms.
- 7:51So symptoms of PMs and PMDD.
- 7:53Abdominal bloating.
- 7:54Angry outburst back aches.
- 7:57Mood swings, acne, breast tenderness, and swelling, confusion, constipation, cramps, craving, dizziness, depression.
- 8:07Crying spells.
- 8:08Decreased sex drive back low libido, low.
- 8:12Activity low concentration.
- 8:14Lack of motivation.
- 8:15Drowsiness headaches, fatigue, forgetfulness water retention have flashes.
- 8:20You can have hives.
- 8:21I've seen patients having hives.
- 8:23Two weeks prior to their menstrual cycles.
- 8:25Because of increased food, sensitivities or toxins, trying to come out to the pores.
- 8:29Difficulty sleeping, joint pain, leg pain.
- 8:33Nausea palpitations panic attacks.
- 8:36You can have flu, like symptoms ringing in the ear, sinus pain, sinus pressure, thinking in your hands and feet.
- 8:42Visual changes, sensitivities to food.
- 8:45to light, sensitivity, to noise, and also vomiting.
- 8:48You can even have some weird symptoms that you'll never correlate, With PMs or PMDD, like seizures.
- 8:54Variation in your blood and personalities, and also changes in the blood pressure.
- 8:58Again.
- 8:58So if you have like certain symptoms, Prior to having your menstrual cycles.
- 9:02And then after you have your menstrual cycles, which in this field is, it goes away.
- 9:06This is part of PMs and PMDD.
- 9:08And I've also seen patients with menstrual migraine.
- 9:11Now with menstrual migraine, when avid laid in, you should always look at your progesterone.
- 9:16So quick tips.
- 9:17Now let's talk about the types of PMs PMs.
- 9:19A.
- 9:20That's one type that's when you have more estrogen.
- 9:23And or low progesterone or position one deficiency symptoms of PMs, a are.
- 9:29Anxiety.
- 9:30So it's more like anxiety, predominantly difficulty sleeping.
- 9:34It would a birdie and very emotional.
- 9:37Another type of PMs is PMSC, which is, when you have sugar craving.
- 9:41So we focus more so on carbohydrate cravings.
- 9:43For those of you that have PMs and you feel like you need carbs and sugar, so you have PMAC.
- 9:48So this will lead to increased appetite, headache, low blood sugar, increased sweating in her population.
- 9:54PMs D So with PMs.
- 9:57You have again, a lot of estrogen, so major estrogen imbalance affecting the brain.
- 10:02So symptoms can lead to depression.
- 10:05Crying fatigue, despair, feeling of hopelessness, sleep difficulties in low sexual desire.
- 10:13And then we have PMs, H is things for hyper hydration.
- 10:17So again, excessive estrogen symptoms, can need to hand and feed squealing.
- 10:23So that's when you have the bloat, the weight gain your clothes.
- 10:26Feed Tyler.
- 10:28you have breast tenderness and you just feel school in all over and inflamed, So that means they have hyperhydration.
- 10:34Now, when it comes to treating PMs, conventionally.
- 10:37Again, they'll give you a pill.
- 10:38They give you some antidepressant, you know, some.
- 10:40SSRI citalopram post.
- 10:42Zola.
- 10:43that's it right.
- 10:44And then, or maybe, you know, put you on, you know, hormonal birth control the contract, over contraceptive.
- 10:51But when in fact there are so many things you can do, herbs is what I use in my practice to help with PMs.
- 10:56So that's BMS.
- 10:57to give this bad cash or let's go straight into estrogen.
- 11:00Estrogen.
- 11:02Well, estrogen is a sex and steroids and growth hormones.
- 11:06All gender have estrogen.
- 11:09So it's not only females.
- 11:10Men also have estrogen.
- 11:11So with estrogen, you have an increased during puberty and then it kind of decreases as we go into pre peri.
- 11:17And menopause and you need.
- 11:20Cholesterol to make estrogen.
- 11:22estrogen can be produced in three different places.
- 11:24In the body.
- 11:25So it's not only your ovaries and testes can produce estrogen.
- 11:28You can also put this estrogen, your junior Glen's, adipose tissue.
- 11:32And also placenta for those.
- 11:35patients that are pregnant.
- 11:36So it's the ovaries and testes.
- 11:38If your female ovaries male testes.
- 11:40Adipose tissue.
- 11:41Adrenal glands, the still glands that sit on top of your kidneys and then for pregnant people, please send that.
- 11:46So we have receptor sites all over our bodies in our ovaries breast tissue, vagina tissue.
- 11:52Extras and affects the bone, the brain, the heart, the lungs, the kidneys, the bladder, the muscles, the gut.
- 11:57And also you need it for sexual health, So there's receptor sites all over the body.
- 12:01But one of its main function is to maintain the pH of the vagina.
- 12:05Between three to 4.5, we want to keep it slide.
- 12:08we want to keep it acidic.
- 12:09And also job of estrogens to make the vagina elastics and we're lubricated so that when we are having intercourse, we have, mixed penetration, more comfortable.
- 12:19So no dryness, no pain down there.
- 12:21Now there are three types of estrogen now.
- 12:23And if you knew that three types, so you need to know what they are.
- 12:26The first one is as strong.
- 12:28It's just you.
- 12:28One, this hormones occurs during menopause and is mainly produced by the fat tissue.
- 12:34The second type of estrogen is extra dial, which is E two.
- 12:38It is the most important and common form of estrogen in the body.
- 12:41The one that we test for the most.
- 12:43So when we test your extras and we looked mainly looking at extra dial.
- 12:46And then you have E three, which is the weakest estrogen seen during pregnancy.
- 12:51Why put this by the place and that, but if you're not pregnant in a producing STL, Mostly in pregnancy.
- 12:57estrogen has over 400 functions.
- 13:00In the body, but a lot of functions.
- 13:02So you need estrogen.
- 13:04We're just going to discuss a few follow-up productive health.
- 13:07It regulates the menstrual cycle and repairs, the uterine lining for pregnancy.
- 13:12It also influences the, actuation of eggs doing appellations.
- 13:16For brain function.
- 13:17Remember this?
- 13:17Oh, except the sites in the brain.
- 13:19and, has various functioning in the world, includes mood regulation and cognitive function.
- 13:23So they feel good.
- 13:25Your brain feels good.
- 13:25You need estrogen for call you health.
- 13:28They contributes to the health of the cardiovascular system by maintaining flexibility of blood vessels.
- 13:34also influences cholesterol level.
- 13:36but you also need estrogen for insulin.
- 13:38You need estrogen to regulates body temperature for most of the damage.
- 13:42To maintain your muscle mass and the estrogen for sleep.
- 13:45You need estrogen for your eyes.
- 13:46Site cataracts.
- 13:47to prevent macular degeneration, the extra then to open up your blood vessels, dilate arteries is cardioprotective blood flow.
- 13:55You need estrogen to decrease the risk of colon cancer in an estrogen to prevent Alzheimer's disease.
- 14:00I mean the estrogen to keep your vagina.
- 14:02acidic, so to prevent infection, And you need it for sexual health.
- 14:06As I mentioned.
- 14:07So what causes low estrogen?
- 14:09We have different causes.
- 14:10A few are natural decline in estrogen, like prepare and post-menopause you have low estrogen.
- 14:16We'll move off of ovaries or uterus uterus through surgery can also decrease estrogen level.
- 14:24And proper hormone replacement therapies.
- 14:26Right?
- 14:26If you work with a practitioner and they give you too much pedestrian, too much testers.
- 14:30Test.
- 14:30So you have an imbalanced, so you can have low estrogen.
- 14:32Poor diet or eating or eating disorders like anorexia can disrupt hormonal level.
- 14:37You need to eat healthy.
- 14:39You need to feed your body.
- 14:40For hormone.
- 14:41Balanced.
- 14:41Hi, physical activity with low body fat.
- 14:44Can we do estrogen?
- 14:45premature ovarian failure, like early loss of ovarian function before each 40.
- 14:51Y can decrease estrogen.
- 14:52Remember.
- 14:53Ashlyn also affects the kidneys, the bladder.
- 14:55So chronic kidney issues.
- 14:57Taiwan disorders can affect.
- 14:59Your estrogen, whether you have hypo hyper.
- 15:02And then first estrogen production cancer treatment like chemotherapy, radiation, and also drugs.
- 15:07Medications can also affect your estrogen level.
- 15:10So symptoms of low estrogen level, we have irregular or no period.
- 15:14I have flashes night, sweats, trouble, concentrating, mood changes, lack of motivation, fatigue, drowsiness, trouble, sleeping, dry skin.
- 15:23Vaginal dryness, decreased libido, joint pain with.
- 15:27weak and widow bones.
- 15:28Bones you need.
- 15:29Extra gent for all these two kind of.
- 15:31Not in existence.
- 15:32Now what causes too much estrogen, Because there's low estrogen.
- 15:36You can also have way too much.
- 15:37Too much estrogen symptoms we have weekend.
- 15:39Mostly waist and hips, irregular period, either light or heavy.
- 15:44PMs PMDD, acne, whatever attention, puffiness fatigue, it would a birdie anxiety.
- 15:50Mood swings, uterine fibroids and ovarian cyst.
- 15:54Fiber cystic breast disease.
- 15:56You have way too much estrogen PCLs endometriosis, too much.
- 15:59Estrogen increased risk of uterine cancer, breast cancer and autoimmune disease.
- 16:04Remember estrogen is a growth hormone.
- 16:06So if you have way too much of it, it can accelerate the growth of this cancer cells.
- 16:10Now what causes, too much estrogen.
- 16:13What are the cause of too much estrogen, estrogen dominance?
- 16:15The first one is taken X.
- 16:17Excessive supplementation.
- 16:19I had like all contraceptive.
- 16:21Uh, patients that are put on too much estrogen from practitioners who did not check the levels.
- 16:25First.
- 16:26I see so many of those in my practice.
- 16:28Estrogen prescribed for menopausal symptoms without proper assessment in gala tests, you got to identify the with, cause before you start those hormone replacement therapies.
- 16:37And elimination of estrogen, poor liver function, detoxification.
- 16:41Lack of exercise and too much exercise can decrease extroversion, but a lack can also decrease estrogen.
- 16:47Poor diet.
- 16:48you have an increase in fat carbs and grain.
- 16:51Wait.
- 16:51Too many taxes, environmental estrogen, that from plastics or the air or personal care products.
- 16:57Too much red meat.
- 16:58Yeah, because remember some of those red meats, those animals have been injected with, you know, Antibiotic hormones or, and also, no plastic.
- 17:06I mentioned that.
- 17:07So you're going to say.
- 17:08Dr.
- 17:08G what should I do?
- 17:09Cause I think my homelands or out of rock, I think my body's in.
- 17:13You know, my home is I'm balanced.
- 17:14I don't feel good in my bodies.
- 17:15And many of the symptoms that you mentioned I'm experiencing right now.
- 17:18Well, what you need to do is first.
- 17:20Tests do not guess do a full hormone panel and that my preference is saliva.
- 17:26Work with the practitioner who knows well about hormonal balance and they have helped many people balance the hormones, make sure they are guiding you monitor and throughout the whole process.
- 17:34And I give you the products and then that's it.
- 17:36Detox.
- 17:37You got to make sure you're moving heavy metals, fake estrogen.
- 17:41And you have to make lifestyle changes, like exercise, improve, sleep, manage your stress.
- 17:46Hydration makes you lose weight, incorporate supplementation like magnesium and vitamin B6.
- 17:52Uh, would there be, is, oh my God.
- 17:53I love herbs.
- 17:55Herbs is so good for hormones, So good for weight loss.
- 17:58I have.
