- 0:01Speaker 1: Hello, beautiful alchemist. Welcome to Reiki Radio. I'm your host, Yolanda,
- 0:06Speaker 1: and I know it has been a while. Some of
- 0:09Speaker 1: you are aware I've had a lot going on in
- 0:13Speaker 1: the background. We'll just say that. But everything is going well.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Part of the busyness in the background was the interviewing
- 0:22Speaker 1: for the Reiki Raise Global Healing Summit, the 11th Global
- 0:27Speaker 1: Healing Summit. I was fortunate enough to be invited to
- 0:31Speaker 1: co-host again and this year I was co-hosting with Natalie Jasper.
- 0:37Speaker 1: So I have been thinking about and I've shared with
- 0:42Speaker 1: you all recently that I wanted to return kind of
- 0:47Speaker 1: to the origin of Reiki Radio and getting more open
- 0:52Speaker 1: and personalized about Reiki practices and just relationship to Reiki
- 0:59Speaker 1: and exactly what inspired the podcast to begin with. But I,
- 1:07Speaker 1: a few days ago, reached out to a beautiful friend
- 1:10Speaker 1: of mine that you all may be familiar with, Gwen,
- 1:14Speaker 1: who is also known as my spiritual butterfly. Gwen Allison
- 1:19Speaker 1: is a Reiki teacher and she teaches out in the
- 1:22Speaker 1: UK and I reached out to her and I said, hey,
- 1:26Speaker 1: will you join me for a Reiki conversation? And she
- 1:29Speaker 1: was like, yeah, of course. You know, she and I
- 1:31Speaker 1: talk in the background all the time. And she apparently
- 1:36Speaker 1: didn't know that I meant for the podcast. So she
- 1:39Speaker 1: did come and we started having our conversation about Reiki.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And then a few minutes later, I was like, oh,
- 1:46Speaker 1: I have to record this, you know. So, yeah, it's
- 1:50Speaker 1: quite funny. She mentions it at the end of the episode.
- 1:53Speaker 1: But I think that the conversation we had will be
- 1:58Speaker 1: very supportive for many of you who are practicing Reiki
- 2:03Speaker 1: or curious about Reiki, wherever you fall on the spectrum.
- 2:07Speaker 1: And I, again, I'm just so thankful to be able
- 2:11Speaker 1: to be a part of these conversations. And I hope
- 2:15Speaker 1: you really do enjoy what is shared with Gwen and
- 2:19Speaker 1: I today. Hopefully it will spark love. some of your
- 2:23Speaker 1: own interests, realizations, curiosity, and you can reach out to
- 2:28Speaker 1: both Gwen and myself. The ways to connect with us
- 2:31Speaker 1: are down in the show description. I also want to
- 2:35Speaker 1: remind you all that, as I mentioned, I was co-hosting,
- 2:40Speaker 1: conducting interviews for the 11th Reiki Raise Global Healing Summit,
- 2:45Speaker 1: and that is now available. So I explain in the
- 2:50Speaker 1: episode how your options for accessing the summit, but there
- 2:54Speaker 1: is a link down in the show description. If you
- 2:56Speaker 1: want to get your all access pass now, I'd recommend
- 3:00Speaker 1: doing it right now. If it's something you are considering
- 3:02Speaker 1: only because you get an early bird special and that
- 3:06Speaker 1: way you have access to all of the interviews, all
- 3:08Speaker 1: of the conversations, and you can go through them at
- 3:11Speaker 1: your own pace. So if you are interested in expanding
- 3:16Speaker 1: your own awareness and around Reiki from a bunch of
- 3:20Speaker 1: different lenses and perspectives and topics, then use the link
- 3:25Speaker 1: below and get your ticket for the summit. That aside,
- 3:29Speaker 1: my loves, I am just thankful to be here with you. Again,
- 3:35Speaker 1: I hope you enjoy the conversation and I want to
- 3:37Speaker 1: say thank you so much to Gwen for saying yes,
- 3:42Speaker 1: even though she thought we were just having a friend
- 3:44Speaker 1: conversation about this But let me tell you a little
- 3:47Speaker 1: bit about Gwen if you haven't met her already. She
- 3:51Speaker 1: is a successful transformational life coach, an expert Reiki master teacher,
- 3:55Speaker 1: and the founder of My Spiritual Butterfly. Gwen's spiritual journey
- 4:00Speaker 1: started over 15 years ago with the discovery of inspirational
- 4:05Speaker 1: teachings such as the Law of Attraction and The Secret.
- 4:09Speaker 1: These teachings allowed Gwen to finally understand how deeply our
- 4:13Speaker 1: interpretation of our experience is affects our reality. And we
- 4:18Speaker 1: talk a little bit about that in this conversation as well.
- 4:21Speaker 1: So after facing a life-changing experience, she had challenges through
- 4:27Speaker 1: a painful divorce. She had gone through the experience of
- 4:33Speaker 1: loss and just stressful, what she says is stressful redundancy.
- 4:38Speaker 1: She became an advanced life coach in 2008 and then
- 4:42Speaker 1: a Yasui Reiki practitioner in 2015. And that's also when
- 4:46Speaker 1: she started her holistic business. So you will learn a
- 4:51Speaker 1: lot today about what both of us have experienced through
- 4:54Speaker 1: the practices and teachings of Reiki, how it has evolved
- 4:59Speaker 1: for us. And again, hopefully you find some resonance with
- 5:03Speaker 1: what is shared.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I will see you on the other side. Okay.
- 5:17Speaker 1: So I guess to start, it is kind of funny.
- 5:20Speaker 1: We were laughing at, we were already chatting about this
- 5:23Speaker 1: before I hit record, but I just want to thank
- 5:26Speaker 1: you again, Gwen, for taking time to have this conversation today.
- 5:30Speaker 2: You're welcome.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Thank you for inviting me. It's always amazing talking to you.
- 5:35Speaker 3: So many insightful things always come up. So I love it.
- 5:38Speaker 4: I love it.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Really happy to be here.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Well, same.
- 5:41Speaker 1: And this is one of the things I'm sure everyone
- 5:44Speaker 1: who listens to the podcast knows I have been kind
- 5:47Speaker 1: of MIA lately. But like I was sharing with you,
- 5:51Speaker 1: I really just wanted to have an open, honest conversation
- 5:56Speaker 1: about Reiki with someone else I know is an incredible
- 6:00Speaker 1: teacher and practitioner. And you and I talk so much
- 6:03Speaker 1: behind the scenes. But we also both had an opportunity
- 6:07Speaker 1: recently to be a part of the Reiki Rays Global
- 6:10Speaker 1: Healing Summit. And this was the 11th year. And there
- 6:14Speaker 1: are so many perspectives and information about Reiki there. So
- 6:22Speaker 1: that also inspired just wanting to have this conversation with
- 6:25Speaker 1: you to hear more just about you, Gwen, you know,
- 6:31Speaker 1: your relationship to Reiki and Anything that stands out to
- 6:36Speaker 1: you as different than when you first began?
- 6:39Speaker 3: God, yeah. I think when I first began, I think
- 6:47Speaker 3: it felt I was doing everything the way I was taught,
- 6:49Speaker 3: very prescriptive, which was still beautiful because it was allowing
- 6:53Speaker 3: me to feel more and sense more because I was
- 6:57Speaker 3: still kind of left-brained and feeling some things but not everything.
- 7:02Speaker 3: But yeah, it did then allow me to bring some
- 7:05Speaker 3: structure into my life in terms of always wanting to
- 7:08Speaker 3: meditate daily and never succeeding at that. And with the Reiki, initially,
- 7:13Speaker 3: you know, I wanted to do my daily Reiki to
- 7:15Speaker 3: get through the 21 days. Yeah. But then I didn't
- 7:17Speaker 3: want to stop. I just really enjoyed it and loved it.
- 7:21Speaker 3: But I just think over time with the way I
- 7:26Speaker 3: teach Reiki, particularly, I've just become a little bit freer,
- 7:30Speaker 3: a little bit looser, a little bit less rigid in
- 7:34Speaker 3: my thinking and the practice and everything. Because definitely at
- 7:38Speaker 3: the beginning, I was very strict about certain things, even
- 7:42Speaker 3: down to the person having their arms by their side.
- 7:44Speaker 3: taking off all their jewelry and all these different little things, yeah,
- 7:48Speaker 3: that I was taught is what we could do to
- 7:51Speaker 3: allow the energy to flow and things like that. And
- 7:54Speaker 3: then gradually when you teach, you probably notice this as well, Yolanda,
- 7:58Speaker 3: you see your students start to do things even in
- 8:00Speaker 3: reiki shares and sessions that you're like, oh no, we
- 8:02Speaker 3: shouldn't do it like that. You know, you might see
- 8:04Speaker 3: students naturally wanting to pluck energy out or move energy
- 8:08Speaker 3: out and we're taught it's just this, you know. So
- 8:10Speaker 3: I think Over time, I've corrected less and just, I
- 8:20Speaker 3: think just feeling more into the essence of what McKay
- 8:23Speaker 3: Sui may have wanted, as we were saying before, we
- 8:26Speaker 3: don't really know what he was thinking, but the essence
- 8:29Speaker 3: of Reiki is that it's what we are and therefore
- 8:33Speaker 3: everyone will interpret it slightly differently. Everyone will experience it differently.
- 8:37Speaker 3: We know that for sure. Everyone has different experiences of Reiki,
- 8:41Speaker 3: whether they're giving or receiving. And so it's always evolving,
- 8:45Speaker 3: you know, as well energy never just stagnates. It's always
- 8:48Speaker 3: moving and evolving and growing. And so I think in
- 8:51Speaker 3: terms of my practice and in terms of how I teach,
- 8:55Speaker 3: I've just become a little bit more relaxed about it,
- 8:59Speaker 3: less rigid. And, you know, I'm still learning as well.
- 9:03Speaker 3: I'm still the student in that sense. And so, yeah,
- 9:07Speaker 3: that's I think been a big shift for me in
- 9:10Speaker 3: terms of, how I teach Reiki, understanding that perhaps the
- 9:14Speaker 3: intention was just to be compassionate with ourselves, not try
- 9:19Speaker 3: to box it in too much without dishonoring the tradition,
- 9:23Speaker 3: you know, the original tradition of it, understanding that it's
- 9:28Speaker 3: all energy. I don't know if you found a similar thing.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I actually, it's amazing hearing you say this because
- 9:37Speaker 1: it was very similar for me. Now, hindsight, of course,
- 9:42Speaker 1: I look back and I realize just like you, I
- 9:45Speaker 1: was very structured. I was very rigid about what my
- 9:48Speaker 1: daily practice was. And, you know, now looking back, I
- 9:53Speaker 1: realize there was this I was worried about not.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Doing it right. Yeah.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 1: And so, and it wasn't so much just with my
- 10:03Speaker 1: personal practice, because when I was practicing in the beginning,
- 10:09Speaker 1: you know, doing what my teacher said and all of
- 10:11Speaker 1: these things, I was having personal experiences of, you know,
- 10:16Speaker 1: energy moving in such a way that I started having
- 10:21Speaker 1: realizations about myself, my behaviors. I started having emotions and,
- 10:26Speaker 1: you know, experiencing myself differently than I ever had prior
- 10:30Speaker 1: to the practice of Reiki and meditation. But I was
- 10:35Speaker 1: really worried about not doing it right for clients or
- 10:40Speaker 1: even friends that I was practicing on. So I put
- 10:42Speaker 1: a lot of pressure on myself in the beginning and
- 10:45Speaker 1: that caused me to be Like you say, I was
- 10:48Speaker 1: very rigid about, well, this is what I'm supposed to do. Interestingly, though,
- 10:53Speaker 1: early on, I felt kind of pulled to do things
- 10:57Speaker 1: or move my hands in ways that I wasn't taught
- 11:00Speaker 1: in class. And so, you know, because of some of
- 11:05Speaker 1: the experiences I started having and working with other people
- 11:09Speaker 1: and myself, that's what then made me want to study
- 11:13Speaker 1: intuitive development and all of these things, because there were
- 11:16Speaker 1: experiences I started to have that weren't taught in my
- 11:20Speaker 1: Reiki classes um yeah so it's very very similar I
- 11:25Speaker 1: I definitely notice even still to this day like you
- 11:30Speaker 1: say so many years later that the practice keeps evolving
- 11:35Speaker 1: I think the relationship with Reiki the relationship with energy
- 11:41Speaker 1: the relationship with our minds the relationship with ourselves like
- 11:45Speaker 1: Every aspect of our existence seems to evolve through the practice.
- 11:52Speaker 1: And yeah, but in the beginning, I was just really
- 11:56Speaker 1: concerned or worried about doing it right.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Yeah. And students still say the same. I mean, I
- 12:02Speaker 3: was the same as well. Oh, I couldn't remember what
- 12:05Speaker 3: you said. So I thought, well, I'm doing it wrong.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I couldn't remember the symbols, so I didn't do it.
- 12:10Speaker 3: And I'm like, your Reiki worked before the symbols. It
- 12:12Speaker 3: will continue to work. And then we get in our
- 12:16Speaker 3: head because that's how we've been brought up in this world,
- 12:19Speaker 3: to do something, learn it, learn it right, do an
- 12:22Speaker 3: exam in it, and then you know you've got it
- 12:25Speaker 3: properly down. Whereas with Reiki, there's no test, there's no exam.
- 12:30Speaker 3: And so it's just giving permission, giving people permission just
- 12:34Speaker 3: to be freer with it. within the certain confines. We
- 12:38Speaker 3: don't want to be like, you know, pounding people on
- 12:39Speaker 3: the head, say, oh, it's Reiki. But, you know, yeah,
- 12:43Speaker 3: it's just allowing my students just to do Reiki for
- 12:48Speaker 3: five minutes or, you know, they don't have to do
- 12:51Speaker 3: it for, you know, you've got the 12 hand positions.
- 12:52Speaker 3: They don't have to do that. You know, all of
- 12:55Speaker 3: those things. And even in my practice, that flexibility came
- 12:59Speaker 3: in but even Torsten my Reiki master would say any
- 13:03Speaker 3: Reiki is better than no Reiki and I took that
- 13:05Speaker 3: on boards and I tried to say that with my
- 13:08Speaker 3: students but they forget and something in them wants to
- 13:11Speaker 3: learn it exactly and repeat it exactly as they were
- 13:14Speaker 3: taught and not understanding that in the classroom scenario we
- 13:18Speaker 3: have to have this structure to keep everybody together if
- 13:21Speaker 3: everyone just arrived and said hey just go where you
- 13:22Speaker 3: feel just do what you like you know we didn't
- 13:24Speaker 3: have a class so We need that structure. And I
- 13:27Speaker 3: try to say to them, just let go now when
- 13:30Speaker 3: you're at home. You don't have to do it like this.
- 13:32Speaker 3: You can place your hands in two places. You can
- 13:35Speaker 3: be just here for five minutes or whatever it is
- 13:38Speaker 3: you feel you need to do. You can listen to that.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Spend longer at a certain point. It doesn't have to
- 13:43Speaker 3: be a two-minute, two-minute thing or three-minute, three-minute. Let go
- 13:46Speaker 3: of that rigidity that was put in just to be
- 13:49Speaker 3: able to allow you to have a safe learning environment, really.
- 13:53Speaker 3: But when you're at home, you can play with it
- 13:54Speaker 3: a little bit more. But yeah, I think students find
- 13:58Speaker 3: it hard to move away from, am I doing it right?
- 14:00Speaker 3: Am I doing it wrong? It takes a while for
- 14:04Speaker 3: them to kind of really let go of that, I think.
- 14:06Speaker 3: And it did me as well. Yeah.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Well, it's interesting hearing you say, so one of the
- 14:11Speaker 1: things that's coming up, I would love to talk to
- 14:14Speaker 1: you about is the ongoing support aspect that I know
- 14:17Speaker 1: we both provide for people. And I think that's an
- 14:23Speaker 1: important component. Like a lot of people may take, a
- 14:26Speaker 1: weekend class. And then just because they got a certification,
- 14:29Speaker 1: they think that's the end of educating themselves.
- 14:31Speaker 2: And it's like, no, this is.
- 14:34Speaker 1: A lifelong practice. And, you know, it really serves us
- 14:37Speaker 1: to continue educating ourselves as we ourselves are evolving through
- 14:41Speaker 1: the practice. But you remind me of something that I
- 14:46Speaker 1: want to touch on first. With what you're describing, it
- 14:50Speaker 1: reminds me of, again, why the foundations are so important.
- 14:54Speaker 1: like just to your point, to learn, you know, hand
- 14:57Speaker 1: positions and to learn all the things we learn in
- 15:00Speaker 1: the classes, one, two, and three, quite frankly, are important
- 15:05Speaker 1: because we are, we're very, we need a structure. We
- 15:09Speaker 1: need a formula to begin, to feel comfortable enough to
- 15:12Speaker 1: believe that we're doing whatever it is we're supposed to
- 15:15Speaker 1: be doing, so to speak. But What I love about
- 15:20Speaker 1: this practice or the system of Reiki specifically is even
- 15:25Speaker 1: though I had my period of being so attached to,
- 15:29Speaker 1: am I doing it right? And then starting to allow
- 15:33Speaker 1: myself to experiment with how I was feeling guided. I
- 15:37Speaker 1: went through almost like going rogue and totally stepping away
- 15:41Speaker 1: from the way that I was taught and just solely
- 15:45Speaker 1: focused on how I was being guided. And then that
- 15:48Speaker 1: brought me looped back around to going back to the foundations,
- 15:53Speaker 1: even just, you know, the symbols or ankaku, all of
- 15:56Speaker 1: these things. But now studying and practicing them with a
- 16:01Speaker 1: different lens. So I think that's an interesting thing, too.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I always think it's important for people to know how
- 16:09Speaker 1: you may understand something in the beginning.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:14Speaker 1: If you continue to be a student always, even if
- 16:17Speaker 1: you become a teacher, you will understand all of it
- 16:21Speaker 1: differently through your practice. So I think that's one of
- 16:27Speaker 1: the interesting things, the way, again, I'll just use the
- 16:30Speaker 1: symbols as an example. I feel like my relationship, my
- 16:33Speaker 1: understanding of working with the symbols has evolved drastically from
- 16:39Speaker 1: my first class or, you know, my second level two
- 16:43Speaker 1: or these kinds of things.
- 16:45Speaker 2: What about you?
- 16:45Speaker 1: Has anything in terms of not just being so rigid
- 16:49Speaker 1: about the hand positions, but has the understanding of the
- 16:53Speaker 1: system changed for.
- 16:55Speaker 2: You at all?
- 16:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I think in terms of moving from that rigidity
- 17:01Speaker 3: to realizing that we can bring Reiki into everything, kind
- 17:05Speaker 3: of what you were saying, into our lives and relate
- 17:08Speaker 3: to it differently. And I think it is really powerfully
- 17:11Speaker 3: understanding that Reiki is what we are.
- 17:13Speaker 5: Right.
- 17:14Speaker 3: And therefore all things are possible and everything is energy.
- 17:18Speaker 3: And if I have that same intention, that same focus
- 17:22Speaker 3: with everything that I'm doing or any challenging times or
- 17:26Speaker 3: any pain or, you know, anything in our lives really,
- 17:30Speaker 3: then we can call in this energy. So it isn't
- 17:34Speaker 3: just something that we just use. you know, once a
- 17:37Speaker 3: day or twice a day in the morning for a
- 17:39Speaker 3: few minutes and then we forget about it and live
- 17:42Speaker 3: our normal human existence, it can walk side by side
- 17:47Speaker 3: with us throughout our whole day. And I think, and
- 17:51Speaker 3: I love experimenting with things like that. Things just come
- 17:53Speaker 3: to me and then I try it. You know, I
- 17:56Speaker 3: just get an idea if I, you know, whether it's
- 17:59Speaker 3: me being in pain and then just bringing in this
- 18:02Speaker 3: golden energy of Reiki coming down on me as I'm
- 18:05Speaker 3: lying there. Um, so moving away from, oh, it's about
- 18:08Speaker 3: hand positions too. I am Reiki, which is why we can,
- 18:12Speaker 3: I just finished the Reiki master last week. We practiced, um,
- 18:17Speaker 3: which is sending Reiki.
- 18:18Speaker 2: With the eyes.
- 18:19Speaker 3: It's a thing, you know, for the Eastern side, I
- 18:21Speaker 3: don't think they practice it on the Western side. Um,
- 18:24Speaker 3: we also said Reiki with the breath and we use
- 18:26Speaker 3: that in the two months. Um, and I, I take
- 18:29Speaker 3: them one step further and we send it with the
- 18:31Speaker 3: heart and things like that. So it's realizing really every
- 18:35Speaker 3: part of you is Reiki. not just the hands, it's
- 18:37Speaker 3: not just animating from just your hands, it's animating from everywhere.
- 18:42Speaker 3: But we can also bring it in where energy is everywhere, right?
- 18:49Speaker 3: And so we can, we're like this conductors of energy,
- 18:53Speaker 3: we are antennas, we can receive and send energy. And
- 18:58Speaker 3: I liken it to, I don't know if you have
- 18:59Speaker 3: them in the States, but the little wind turbines that
- 19:02Speaker 3: create electricity, that you see them in fields, yeah. So
- 19:06Speaker 3: that's just siphoning energy from the atmosphere, from the air,
- 19:09Speaker 3: and creating electricity with that. And we're the same. When
- 19:12Speaker 3: we call this energy in, then all of these, whether
- 19:18Speaker 3: it's photons, electrons, neutrons, these subatomic particles gather. We're able
- 19:23Speaker 3: to affect matter from an energetic perspective. Yeah, something that
- 19:30Speaker 3: Joe Dispenza talks about, Dr. Joe Dispenza. We spend a
- 19:33Speaker 3: lot of our lives... in a sort of matter versus
- 19:36Speaker 3: matter way, trying to fix things with force, with doing.
- 19:42Speaker 3: And then when we let go and we realize that
- 19:44Speaker 3: we can much more easily affect matter from an energetic
- 19:50Speaker 3: perspective process method it's more powerful you know even in
- 19:56Speaker 3: the surrendering of something that you're stuck with so many
- 20:00Speaker 3: things have come to me there's so.
- 20:03Speaker 6: Many things coming up with what you're saying when I
- 20:07Speaker 6: just want to like point out a couple of things
- 20:10Speaker 6: you said before we keep going this is why I
- 20:11Speaker 6: want to talk to you Gwen this conversation already is
- 20:16Speaker 6: the type of conversation I wish was available when I
- 20:20Speaker 6: was that practitioner questioning myself when I was the one
- 20:24Speaker 6: wondering if I was doing things wrong because what I
- 20:27Speaker 6: was experiencing may have been different than what I learned
- 20:30Speaker 6: in class or what my.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Teachers spoke about Although we'll have to talk about two.
- 20:34Speaker 1: I think the conversations are also expanding and changing within
- 20:38Speaker 1: the community, which is very cool to see. But a
- 20:43Speaker 1: couple of things. So one with what you just said
- 20:46Speaker 1: about being able to affect matter more. This is, I think,
- 20:54Speaker 1: so foundational and probably isn't touched on enough in terms
- 20:59Speaker 1: of people understanding the importance of practice and the importance
- 21:04Speaker 1: of cultivating their capacity to hold and acclimate to the
- 21:13Speaker 1: higher frequencies the higher intelligence like I think a lot
- 21:18Speaker 1: of people you know like yes you can have one
- 21:20Speaker 1: attunement and you would never have to have one again
- 21:22Speaker 1: that's fine but if you practice and cultivate your awareness
- 21:30Speaker 1: around the presence of energy I think initially when we
- 21:34Speaker 1: start it does feel almost like this foreign separate thing
- 21:37Speaker 1: for from us because all of a sudden which is
- 21:41Speaker 1: not familiar to us yet we start to feel energy
- 21:46Speaker 1: and heat and all these sensations in our hands and
- 21:49Speaker 1: so we're like oh wow this is amazing and it
- 21:51Speaker 1: seems again separate from us because we just weren't aware
- 21:55Speaker 1: of it before and And then as we keep practicing,
- 21:58Speaker 1: just like you say, we start to recognize like, what?
- 22:01Speaker 1: This is emitting from my entire body. Like I can
- 22:04Speaker 1: feel it. I'm experiencing it. But I think part of
- 22:07Speaker 1: that awareness like graduates again as we come more in
- 22:14Speaker 1: relationship to energy being part of our expression. We become
- 22:20Speaker 1: more and more aware. And I believe that that also
- 22:24Speaker 1: then is what supports us in developing our frequency, so
- 22:30Speaker 1: to speak, right? And that I think is important for
- 22:35Speaker 1: people to hear because as you say, some people come
- 22:38Speaker 1: into these practices or other types of systems and they
- 22:42Speaker 1: do it because they want to change their life. And
- 22:46Speaker 1: because that is their point of focus, they try to,
- 22:49Speaker 1: you know, like just like Reiki everything outside of them.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Like I'm going to Reiki my job. I'm going to
- 22:54Speaker 1: Reiki my relationship. I'm going to Reiki this, that, this.
- 22:57Speaker 2: But it's like, no, no, no.
- 22:58Speaker 1: You are at the foundation of your life. Like you're
- 23:02Speaker 1: the one creating it.
- 23:03Speaker 2: You're the one.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Your life is attuned to the frequency of you. So
- 23:11Speaker 1: I think if people really understood and could grasp more
- 23:15Speaker 1: of how you are developing and how you are changing
- 23:19Speaker 1: your the frequency of your mind, the capacity to be
- 23:22Speaker 1: more loving and compassionate, like those aspects of this energetic
- 23:28Speaker 1: recognition are what then help you meet life differently. That's
- 23:33Speaker 1: where we start to see change. So I think it's very,
- 23:36Speaker 1: I just wanted to point that out because what you said, um,
- 23:40Speaker 1: I hope it does help people know that this isn't just,
- 23:46Speaker 1: you know, uh, like a parlor trick like oh no
- 23:49Speaker 1: my hands got hot no it's really has the potential
- 23:53Speaker 1: to change our life.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Yeah yeah yeah i love that what you're saying is
- 23:59Speaker 3: we were you started by saying that you know you
- 24:02Speaker 3: can have just one attunement but your daily practice is
- 24:04Speaker 3: important and it just occurred to me every time we're
- 24:07Speaker 3: sitting down to practice reiki we are attuning ourselves even
- 24:10Speaker 3: more to that energy and there's really no end to it.
- 24:14Speaker 3: That's why you and I, you've been practicing Reiki longer
- 24:17Speaker 3: than I have, me 11 years, you I think 15 years,
- 24:19Speaker 3: a long time. And it's still, yeah, well maybe whatever,
- 24:24Speaker 3: 15 years. But every time we're learning something new because
- 24:32Speaker 3: we're allowing something new in with that daily practice, with
- 24:36Speaker 3: understanding how we can use it daily, And even if
- 24:39Speaker 3: we are saying, you know what, I want to reiki
- 24:41Speaker 3: my job, it isn't that, okay, here you are, job, reiki,
- 24:43Speaker 3: get better.
- 24:44Speaker 5: It isn't.
- 24:45Speaker 3: Usually what happens is a reflection, which points us back
- 24:48Speaker 3: to exactly as you say, compassion for the job. Okay,
- 24:51Speaker 3: it brings money in and everybody there is kind of
- 24:53Speaker 3: in the same boat and suffering, maybe not wanting to
- 24:55Speaker 3: be there. Let me send reiki to everybody there, you know,
- 24:58Speaker 3: for everyone's highest good. I'm showering in light and I'm
- 25:01Speaker 3: walking into that space. because nobody I've said it before
- 25:04Speaker 3: no one's managing that energy yeah but we're doing it
- 25:07Speaker 3: from a different perspective that you know I can I
- 25:09Speaker 3: can I they don't need to do anything they don't
- 25:12Speaker 3: need to apologize they don't need to be lectured to
- 25:15Speaker 3: be different I it's my work yes because I create
- 25:18Speaker 3: my reality yes um and yeah and definitely Seiki feels
- 25:24Speaker 3: like that as well for me it's talking about but
- 25:27Speaker 3: our feelings and our mind creating what we see out there.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Let me tell you, Sehekia is my favorite just because
- 25:33Speaker 1: of the story with Senju Kunan.
- 25:37Speaker 2: I have a little thing behind me.
- 25:40Speaker 1: But another thing of what you're saying, it's reminding me too,
- 25:43Speaker 1: I think it's important for all of us to consider.
- 25:47Speaker 1: There's a lot of conversations now, like we said. Thankfully,
- 25:52Speaker 1: there are more conversations happening in the community now And
- 25:55Speaker 1: the conversations are evolving from what I was first hearing
- 25:59Speaker 1: about Reiki. But one thing that still happens that honestly,
- 26:05Speaker 1: I think is kind of sad. There's a lot of
- 26:08Speaker 1: righting and wronging people based on what someone may.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Believe or what their teacher said.
- 26:15Speaker 1: And one of the things I always emphasize to people
- 26:18Speaker 1: is don't be limited by another human's perspective. That's why
- 26:23Speaker 1: your practice is important, because then you'll have your own
- 26:26Speaker 1: experience and then see what is really true, so to speak,
- 26:31Speaker 1: for you. So I think it's important that people recognize
- 26:36Speaker 1: if you hear someone talking about Reiki or any practice
- 26:39Speaker 1: for that matter, and it's different than what you believe,
- 26:44Speaker 1: it doesn't mean that what they're saying isn't true. It's
- 26:47Speaker 1: just perhaps you haven't experienced that part yet. And maybe
- 26:51Speaker 1: you never will. But the energy also, I really believe,
- 26:55Speaker 1: meets us where we are individually, as it should. And
- 27:00Speaker 1: it helps us individually work through whatever is in, you know,
- 27:04Speaker 1: the highest and best or priority or what our willingness
- 27:08Speaker 1: will allow. Some people aren't willing to allow themselves to
- 27:13Speaker 1: trust and develop some of the things that are presented
- 27:16Speaker 1: and offered to them by.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Reiki, so to speak. Whereas other people....
- 27:22Speaker 1: Will just be open and receptive to seeing what it
- 27:26Speaker 1: is that is revealed to them so I think it's
- 27:29Speaker 1: very important to know that we're all learning and that's
- 27:36Speaker 1: why these conversations are so important but you said another
- 27:40Speaker 1: thing that I think is important too so anyone who's
- 27:43Speaker 1: taken my pulse of reiki class which is one of
- 27:45Speaker 1: those ongoing things which we're going to get to now
- 27:49Speaker 1: I teach in that there's a a module in that
- 27:52Speaker 1: where I talk about.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Attunements and I.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Can't think of the other thing right now. We'll raise
- 28:01Speaker 1: you and the meaning of that word and what a
- 28:04Speaker 1: spiritual blessing, you know, kind of breaking that down, but
- 28:07Speaker 1: also looking at quite literally what it means to attune.
- 28:11Speaker 2: And so when.
- 28:12Speaker 1: I share this with other practitioners, I like for people
- 28:17Speaker 1: to consider that even beyond the Reiki attunement, just by
- 28:22Speaker 1: nature of our design, we attune to frequencies all the time.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Just like you could be fine and then someone around
- 28:28Speaker 1: you is mad, then you attune to that. You are sad,
- 28:32Speaker 1: you're around someone happy and then maybe you attune to that.
- 28:35Speaker 1: And so again, we can be attuned to the awareness
- 28:40Speaker 1: of Reiki and higher intelligence. But again, our development of
- 28:45Speaker 1: that is on us. It is on us to continue
- 28:49Speaker 1: to practice and do the work. And just like you say,
- 28:53Speaker 1: the more we sit and direct our awareness to that presence,
- 28:57Speaker 1: the stronger we are acclimating to and attuning ourselves to
- 29:02Speaker 1: those frequencies. So yeah, I just, I feel like I
- 29:06Speaker 1: can't emphasize enough and I hope people are encouraged through
- 29:10Speaker 1: our conversation.
- 29:13Speaker 2: To really consider.
- 29:14Speaker 1: How beautiful practice is So I want to ask you
- 29:18Speaker 1: about the ongoing support part because, again, a lot of
- 29:22Speaker 1: people think, oh, I took a class and now I'm done.
- 29:26Speaker 1: You and I both still study with teachers. You and
- 29:30Speaker 1: I both still practice. I mean, you can teach and
- 29:33Speaker 1: be a student. I think you should always be a student.
- 29:38Speaker 1: But could you tell me what inspired you? to offer
- 29:42Speaker 1: ongoing support to people aside from just traditional Reiki classes
- 29:48Speaker 1: you have other ways of supporting people beyond the class
- 29:51Speaker 1: so what inspired that and what do you offer.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Yeah I think it was important to be there for
- 30:00Speaker 4: my students because we know when they're attuned, it can
- 30:04Speaker 4: cause all sorts of things to kind of disrupt their lives,
- 30:09Speaker 4: whether it's emotionally, energetically, or things, situations happening in their lives.
- 30:14Speaker 3: And so obviously we're going to get those emails. And
- 30:16Speaker 3: I think as Reiki masters, it isn't like someone just
- 30:18Speaker 3: going to the hairdresser or learning to do massage or learning.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Do you know what I mean? This is something, as
- 30:24Speaker 3: you said, that can really change and shift people's lives
- 30:27Speaker 3: in a way that nobody can predict. depending on their
- 30:30Speaker 3: intention and their journey and what's written for them, nobody
- 30:33Speaker 3: can really predict whether they're going to have a good
- 30:35Speaker 3: time afterwards and it'd be fine. They'd be in bliss
- 30:38Speaker 3: or they're going to have a rocky time and it'd
- 30:40Speaker 3: be up and down because they've set really powerful intention to,
- 30:43Speaker 3: I no longer want to be like this anymore. I
- 30:45Speaker 3: want life to be better. And the shedding starts. So
- 30:50Speaker 3: it was nice to have things available for my students
- 30:52Speaker 3: for that. So having regular Reiki shares, whereas, you know,
- 30:56Speaker 3: we meet in person or online once a month, and
- 31:00Speaker 3: practice Reiki on each other. So they get to fine
- 31:02Speaker 3: tune what they've learned, but they also get to talk
- 31:04Speaker 3: to other people because it can be quite isolating. You know,
- 31:08Speaker 3: when you're the only one in your circle that is
- 31:11Speaker 3: going through this journey or is going through any kind
- 31:13Speaker 3: of spiritual journey, it can be quite isolating. You've got
- 31:17Speaker 3: no one else to kind of bounce ideas off to
- 31:19Speaker 3: tell you or to tell you that this is actually okay.
- 31:21Speaker 3: This is normal. So that was nice providing a bit
- 31:25Speaker 3: of a community that way through the Reiki shares initially.
- 31:29Speaker 3: We have a Facebook group as well and I drop
- 31:32Speaker 3: things in there. And I also provide Reiki workshops or
- 31:39Speaker 3: events which are, they're kind of geared towards a professional
- 31:42Speaker 3: program I run which allows people to work with the NHS.
- 31:45Speaker 3: We've spoken about it before. But that also deepens their Reiki.
- 31:50Speaker 3: So one is focused on Eastern practices. Another one is
- 31:53Speaker 3: a one-day meditation retreat where we're journeying through the Reiki
- 31:57Speaker 3: principles and I'm just really keen for people to be
- 32:02Speaker 3: able to know what to do rather than just telling them, oh,
- 32:04Speaker 3: this helps you for this, this, this. I'm keen on
- 32:07Speaker 3: giving them real examples and real practice so they can
- 32:10Speaker 3: reach for these things when they need to. So we
- 32:13Speaker 3: go through things we can do when we're angry, things
- 32:16Speaker 3: we can do when we're anxious. We go through gratitude
- 32:20Speaker 3: practices and things like that. So we journey through all
- 32:23Speaker 3: those things that allow them to bring Reiki into their
- 32:25Speaker 3: day-to-day life. So that's something I love. But Increasingly, I
- 32:31Speaker 3: found that, like you say, once someone's learned Reiki 1,
- 32:34Speaker 3: Reiki 2, or even the Reiki master, my understanding of
- 32:39Speaker 3: Reiki was also evolving and they weren't getting to see that.
- 32:43Speaker 3: The newer students were. Every time I teach, it's changing
- 32:46Speaker 3: in a way. And if someone learned from me eight
- 32:49Speaker 3: years ago what I'm teaching then, is going to be
- 32:54Speaker 3: different to how I teach now. The fundamentals are always there,
- 32:57Speaker 3: but there's differences there. And so setting up the Reiki
- 33:01Speaker 3: teachings and self-practice group, which is allowing us to meet
- 33:06Speaker 3: once a month, we meet on the first Tuesday of
- 33:08Speaker 3: the month on Zoom, but it starts with some teaching,
- 33:11Speaker 3: but the focus is self-practice and the many different styles
- 33:15Speaker 3: of self-practice and the many different ways I've started using
- 33:17Speaker 3: my self-practice. Not just the traditional Eastern meditations like Sule Ho,
- 33:24Speaker 3: Jashin Kokyu Ho, but other ways I'm finding that I
- 33:27Speaker 3: can work with Reiki to help me, you know, to
- 33:31Speaker 3: help me move through emotion, self-regulate, see a different side
- 33:35Speaker 3: to something or connect more strongly, you know, to that
- 33:39Speaker 3: higher power. um even with distance reiki you know um
- 33:44Speaker 3: with my group i've shown them how to give distance
- 33:45Speaker 3: reiki to themselves which is phenomenal to do um so
- 33:49Speaker 3: just playing with it in that way but i'm hoping
- 33:53Speaker 3: underneath it all that they're understanding the importance of their
- 33:56Speaker 3: daily practice not just waiting to meet me once a
- 33:59Speaker 3: month which i'm sure some are doing so i'd rather
- 34:01Speaker 3: them do that than nothing at all but it just
- 34:04Speaker 3: felt important to still be there for them be visible
- 34:08Speaker 3: um have a place to share new insights as they
- 34:12Speaker 3: come to me and practice those things and also have
- 34:16Speaker 3: a space where they can ask questions um they can
- 34:19Speaker 3: maybe go deeper into certain things so that felt really
- 34:23Speaker 3: important to do so they're coming along with me on
- 34:26Speaker 3: my journey now which feels wonderful yes so yeah why.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Do you say that because completely the same like So
- 34:34Speaker 1: I have to say when I first started practicing, I
- 34:38Speaker 1: practiced with or I learned from someone who was very nontraditional.
- 34:44Speaker 1: They really focused heavily on shamanism, which, you know, I
- 34:48Speaker 1: appreciated and I didn't know anything different.
- 34:51Speaker 2: I didn't know. I didn't know.
- 34:53Speaker 1: But I learned a lot from them. But after that,
- 34:56Speaker 1: I actually studied with William Rand. And this is before
- 35:00Speaker 1: he came out with Holy Fire. So, you know, this
- 35:02Speaker 1: was back when he was doing, I think, the master
- 35:06Speaker 1: level was called like Yasui Tibetan Reiki.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Okay.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:11Speaker 2: And then there was Karuna Reiki.
- 35:13Speaker 1: So my first Reiki classes I taught were based on
- 35:17Speaker 1: the ICRT. And it was, yeah, it was those books.
- 35:22Speaker 1: And again, that was before Holy Fire. It was before
- 35:25Speaker 1: all of that. Um, I just say that to say,
- 35:28Speaker 1: because a lot of people only know him for that now,
- 35:30Speaker 1: but there was a time where he didn't, that wasn't.
- 35:34Speaker 3: What was happening. Yeah.
- 35:36Speaker 1: And then moving forward, you know, obviously through my own practice,
- 35:41Speaker 1: things that shifted and changed. Um, and I have to
- 35:44Speaker 1: say one of the things I appreciated having him as
- 35:48Speaker 1: a teacher is there was, um, Even though he had
- 35:54Speaker 1: a very clear system of how to practice, just by
- 36:01Speaker 1: nature of his personality and what he had built, there
- 36:07Speaker 1: was an implication of kind of like freedom in your practice,
- 36:11Speaker 1: trusting yourself. So I think that was a good piece
- 36:15Speaker 1: for me because then moving forward, I studied with teachers
- 36:19Speaker 1: who were like a little more traditional, such as Franz
- 36:21Speaker 1: and Arjava. And, um, I learned a lot from all
- 36:25Speaker 1: of them, but the point is later I stepped away
- 36:29Speaker 1: from ICRT and I started teaching from a more traditional lens.
- 36:33Speaker 1: So the same, the students I had before, yeah, if
- 36:38Speaker 1: they took my Reiki class today, they'd be like, what?
- 36:40Speaker 1: She's saying all kinds of different stuff.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:44Speaker 1: To your point too, it's funny. Um, When I first
- 36:49Speaker 1: started teaching, that was it. And I only taught in
- 36:52Speaker 1: person back then. And I still only teach Reiki in person.
- 36:55Speaker 1: I've never taught in certified Reiki online. However, when I
- 37:00Speaker 1: first started the podcast, I will never forget. There's this
- 37:04Speaker 1: listener who I became very good friends with.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Her name is Michelle.
- 37:09Speaker 1: And she reached out to me. She emailed me and
- 37:11Speaker 1: asked me if I could teach an online class on
- 37:14Speaker 1: how to read Oracle cards. And I had never taught
- 37:16Speaker 1: anything online. And so I was like, yeah, well, yeah.
- 37:21Speaker 1: And so that was the first online class that I taught.
- 37:25Speaker 1: But then as I started evolving through my practice and
- 37:29Speaker 1: I recognized the questions I had and I was very,
- 37:32Speaker 1: you know, reflective of what I doubted and what helped
- 37:37Speaker 1: me gain more confidence. And and even like you say,
- 37:41Speaker 1: what I started to learn from other teachers about Reiki
- 37:44Speaker 1: that perhaps I hadn't learned before was. as like this
- 37:47Speaker 1: needs to be available to practitioners. I think it's invaluable.
- 37:52Speaker 1: So that's why I started creating online classes that were
- 37:55Speaker 1: kind of like refreshers. So they could, they were automatically
- 38:01Speaker 1: available to my students. You know, you have free access
- 38:06Speaker 1: to these classes. There are guided practices. There are, and
- 38:10Speaker 1: plus they have access to me. They could, you know,
- 38:13Speaker 1: call me anytime. But yeah, I also wanted to do
- 38:16Speaker 1: it in a prerecorded way so that even people who
- 38:20Speaker 1: didn't train with me, but they already had their certification,
- 38:23Speaker 1: they could take those classes and perhaps get access to
- 38:26Speaker 1: information that they also didn't receive. And it's nothing wrong
- 38:32Speaker 1: with that. I mean, we all, we don't know what
- 38:34Speaker 1: we don't know. So I just thought it was important. Also,
- 38:37Speaker 1: I think these conversations on the podcast are, I is
- 38:41Speaker 1: that it gives a lot of people kind of like
- 38:43Speaker 1: the direction to say, oh, there's more to learn. There's
- 38:46Speaker 1: more to explore.
- 38:48Speaker 2: There's more possibility.
- 38:49Speaker 1: So I think the ongoing support is invaluable. But in
- 38:54Speaker 1: terms of live practice, so I started doing monthly activation circles,
- 39:02Speaker 1: I call it. And it's essentially like a Reiki share,
- 39:04Speaker 1: but we have conversations and then we do guided practices.
- 39:08Speaker 1: So people can come.
- 39:09Speaker 2: To that for free. On my app.
- 39:12Speaker 1: And then the Alchemy Circle started during COVID.
- 39:17Speaker 2: And that started out.
- 39:18Speaker 3: Yes.
- 39:19Speaker 1: So that started out as the world was erupting. And
- 39:23Speaker 1: so I said on the podcast, like, hey, you want
- 39:26Speaker 1: to join me to meet for Reiki every day, every month?
- 39:30Speaker 2: Morning.
- 39:30Speaker 1: We'll meet online for the whole month of May. And
- 39:34Speaker 1: I called it Reiki May. And so some people came,
- 39:37Speaker 1: they joined me. And then when the month was over,
- 39:39Speaker 1: they were like, wait, we got to keep going. And
- 39:41Speaker 1: I was like, well, I can't do this every day forever.
- 39:44Speaker 1: So that's how the alchemy circle started. And now it's
- 39:49Speaker 1: just become, you know, twice a week we meet. But
- 39:52Speaker 1: I think these things are important. You're also reminding me,
- 39:56Speaker 1: for anyone listening, if you remember, you can mark it
- 40:00Speaker 1: on your calendar.
- 40:00Speaker 2: In December, I'm.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Planning to do 50 days of practice. Yeah, so it's
- 40:08Speaker 1: 50 days leading up to my 50th birthday.
- 40:11Speaker 3: Oh, I love that. Yes.
- 40:14Speaker 2: I love that. Yeah.
- 40:17Speaker 1: I made it this far. But, um, but again, just
- 40:21Speaker 1: like you, cause I know you are this way as well,
- 40:24Speaker 1: like through all that you.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Share your online community.
- 40:28Speaker 1: The podcast that you do, I mean, you create so
- 40:30Speaker 1: much content as well. And I say that to say,
- 40:35Speaker 1: I know it matters a lot to you to also
- 40:38Speaker 1: give people access to what will support their path and
- 40:42Speaker 1: their journey. So, um, Yeah, that's one of the things
- 40:46Speaker 1: I love about you so much. But there was something
- 40:50Speaker 1: else that you said that made me think about sometimes
- 40:53Speaker 1: when people take the classes, like you go to Reiki,
- 40:55Speaker 1: you know, one, two or three, all of them, whatever
- 40:59Speaker 1: you choose. I think some people don't consider continuing to
- 41:05Speaker 1: learn like formally, like don't continue their education because one,
- 41:11Speaker 1: they think or they assume that Well, I got all
- 41:14Speaker 1: the information I needed in this class. But then also,
- 41:17Speaker 1: I think for some people, there's an assumption that they
- 41:20Speaker 1: should know. And so some people feel very uncomfortable. Like
- 41:25Speaker 1: they feel like, oh, everyone else in the class got it,
- 41:28Speaker 1: but I didn't. I still have questions.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Why?
- 41:31Speaker 1: You know, they're kind of like an embarrassment. It's like, no,
- 41:35Speaker 1: you can't imagine how many people. We don't even know
- 41:39Speaker 1: what to ask until we start practicing and the class
- 41:42Speaker 1: is over. So don't feel embarrassed if you're questioning anything.
- 41:48Speaker 2: That's normal.
- 41:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:50Speaker 3: I guess you're right. Some people, particularly with the word
- 41:53Speaker 3: Reiki master, they feel they should be a master now
- 41:56Speaker 3: and shouldn't need to ask any questions. And the next
- 41:58Speaker 3: thing is for them to then teach. But as you said,
- 42:01Speaker 3: we're forever the student and we're dealing with something which
- 42:04Speaker 3: is constantly evolving. And so therefore there's always going to
- 42:08Speaker 3: be something new to learn and to get curious about
- 42:11Speaker 3: it as well, to visit different teachers and different courses.
- 42:14Speaker 3: And some you might resonate with, some you might not,
- 42:17Speaker 3: but you'll always learn something from those things. And I
- 42:21Speaker 3: think that's why I've stayed in Reiki for so long.
- 42:23Speaker 3: It's always changing. And I love teaching because they'll always
- 42:26Speaker 3: surprise me with something that I hadn't, a question I
- 42:29Speaker 3: hadn't been asked before or something I hadn't seen before.
- 42:32Speaker 3: And so, yeah, that's what I like about it. I
- 42:35Speaker 3: think that's why I liked IT. I was in IT
- 42:37Speaker 3: for 20 years. I was in IT too.
- 42:39Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I was in IT before I was in finance.
- 42:44Speaker 1: And it's funny because I was literally just thinking about
- 42:47Speaker 1: this driving.
- 42:48Speaker 2: The other day.
- 42:48Speaker 1: I was like, I went through all of that just
- 42:50Speaker 1: because I did network engineering. But I really, all I
- 42:54Speaker 1: really wanted to know was how to build a computer.
- 42:57Speaker 2: And then at the time, yes.
- 43:00Speaker 1: When I.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Was doing all of this, it was.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Right on the brink of everything becoming automated. And so
- 43:08Speaker 1: even network engineering wasn't going to be something that was,
- 43:12Speaker 1: it was.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Going to be automated. And I knew that.
- 43:13Speaker 1: And I mean, this was, they were just at that
- 43:16Speaker 1: time talking about terabytes, like the potential of, Ooh, we're
- 43:19Speaker 1: going to be able to have this much work. And
- 43:22Speaker 1: I remember thinking like, Oh my God, if I stay
- 43:24Speaker 1: in this industry, I'm going to have to be in
- 43:26Speaker 1: school forever. Because it just was, you know, the technology
- 43:30Speaker 1: was evolving so quickly. And now with what I do, ironically,
- 43:34Speaker 1: it's like I'm in school, so to speak, forever.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Like it never ends.
- 43:38Speaker 3: It's more exciting.
- 43:39Speaker 1: It is more exciting.
- 43:41Speaker 2: It is more exciting.
- 43:42Speaker 1: But you bring me to, I want to bring this
- 43:45Speaker 1: up because I see time with you always goes by
- 43:48Speaker 1: so quickly. We both, as I mentioned, got to be
- 43:52Speaker 1: part of the Reiki Raise Global Healing Summit.
- 43:55Speaker 2: It was the 11th.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Actually, if people want to right now, they can. Let
- 44:03Speaker 1: me just explain this because it confuses some people. The
- 44:06Speaker 1: summit is available now and you can register for it
- 44:10Speaker 1: for free. And if you register for free, you get
- 44:13Speaker 1: access to five interviews right away. And then when the
- 44:18Speaker 1: summit officially starts, which is November 7th through 11th, then
- 44:23Speaker 1: they release like five to six videos online. once a
- 44:26Speaker 1: day in that time frame. And you'll have 24 hours
- 44:30Speaker 1: to watch the set of videos that come out that
- 44:33Speaker 1: particular day. But you only have 24 hours, you know,
- 44:38Speaker 1: and that's like five videos.
- 44:39Speaker 2: That's a lot.
- 44:40Speaker 1: So if you purchase a ticket to the summit, then
- 44:44Speaker 1: you just have automatic access right away.
- 44:47Speaker 2: And you can watch it.
- 44:48Speaker 1: At your own pace or on time you have, you know,
- 44:50Speaker 1: so it just gives you more freedom to go at
- 44:53Speaker 1: your own pace. So just so people understand that. But
- 44:57Speaker 1: I just pulled it up on my computer. There are
- 45:00Speaker 1: so many interviews.
- 45:03Speaker 3: It's amazing.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:06Speaker 3: I was saying to, I sent an email out to
- 45:09Speaker 3: the group and I was saying, it's like being a
- 45:11Speaker 3: kid in a sweet shop. It's like heaven for us.
- 45:13Speaker 3: If you love Reiki, you've got all these amazing teachers
- 45:17Speaker 3: talking about so many topics around Reiki that you can
- 45:20Speaker 3: really fill your boots and learn so much. Yes.
- 45:24Speaker 1: And I just want to give some of the teachers
- 45:27Speaker 1: who are presenting some of the conversations that were had
- 45:30Speaker 1: just to, you know, so people know we, and then
- 45:32Speaker 1: you and I can talk about a couple of We
- 45:34Speaker 1: had Justin Stein. I actually got to interview him on
- 45:39Speaker 1: the history of Reiki. There are updates around that. That
- 45:42Speaker 1: was very interesting. He is an avid researcher. We have
- 45:46Speaker 1: Nicholas Pearson, which a lot of people know of. My
- 45:49Speaker 1: one teacher, Frank Arjavapetter. My other teacher, Fran Steiner.
- 45:54Speaker 2: You, Gwen.
- 45:56Speaker 1: She is also there. Tina Zion. I mean, there are
- 45:59Speaker 1: just so many. Natalie Jasper, who does the other podcast. Yeah.
- 46:05Speaker 1: And she was the co-host for the summit this year.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Amanda James. She's always a lot of fun.
- 46:11Speaker 2: But I mean, it's just endless.
- 46:13Speaker 1: It is so many incredible conversations happened. And so just
- 46:18Speaker 1: like what we're talking about, everyone contributes something, whether you
- 46:22Speaker 1: fully agree with them or not.
- 46:24Speaker 2: It still gives.
- 46:25Speaker 1: You something to consider, something that might pique your interest,
- 46:29Speaker 1: something that might cause you to question or something to
- 46:33Speaker 1: validate what you're experiencing, which is what happened to me
- 46:38Speaker 1: the first time I got to interview Franz. I had
- 46:41Speaker 1: never heard of him prior to interviewing him. And then
- 46:44Speaker 1: I had to read his book to prepare. And I
- 46:47Speaker 1: was like, oh my gosh, this guy is talking about
- 46:51Speaker 1: Reiki in a way that I'm experiencing, but I haven't
- 46:54Speaker 1: heard anyone talk about. And that's how he became one
- 46:57Speaker 1: of my teachers. So I want to start with you.
- 47:01Speaker 2: You did, gave.
- 47:03Speaker 1: A discussion about how to use Reiki for anxiety relief.
- 47:08Speaker 1: So I just wanted to ask you a little bit
- 47:10Speaker 1: about that. Why you felt that was important to share.
- 47:13Speaker 2: I mean, yeah. obviously in these times but.
- 47:17Speaker 5: Could you share a little bit about that yeah I
- 47:20Speaker 5: think because everyone experiences it at some point you know
- 47:23Speaker 5: some people chronically you know they have anxiety attacks panic
- 47:26Speaker 5: attacks and some people it might come up just when
- 47:29Speaker 5: they're about to do something out of their comfort zone
- 47:31Speaker 5: and then they push through it but.
- 47:34Speaker 3: Um I think it was it doesn't feel lovely in
- 47:36Speaker 3: the body right it feels awful in the body some
- 47:38Speaker 3: people feel like they can't breathe yes And in that state,
- 47:43Speaker 3: we can actually do things that we regret as well
- 47:45Speaker 3: through that anxiety. And we stop ourselves from really living
- 47:51Speaker 3: our full potential as well because of this fear that
- 47:55Speaker 3: we create in our mind. And so having something we
- 47:59Speaker 3: can do, particularly using Seheki, the symbol of the mind
- 48:03Speaker 3: as well, It just, it's always been something that I
- 48:07Speaker 3: feel is important because I don't want anyone kind of
- 48:11Speaker 3: leaving this planet and not having achieved the things they
- 48:13Speaker 3: wanted to achieve because they had a fear or a
- 48:15Speaker 3: worry in their head. So being able to use the
- 48:18Speaker 3: horror breathing, look at the symbol, get a bit somatic,
- 48:21Speaker 3: hold on to the body and just kind of move
- 48:24Speaker 3: ourselves through that anxiety. That's such a victory. If we
- 48:29Speaker 3: can do it once, we can do it again and
- 48:31Speaker 3: we can do it again. doesn't mean we're going to
- 48:33Speaker 3: eradicate anxiety or fear because they come up for a reason,
- 48:39Speaker 3: but it's just being able to still move through it.
- 48:42Speaker 3: Susan Jeffers wrote a book, which is passed now, but
- 48:44Speaker 3: Fill the Fear, do it anyway. We want people to
- 48:47Speaker 3: get to that point as opposed to holding back, feeling stuck,
- 48:51Speaker 3: not doing anything for fear, whether it's starting a business
- 48:56Speaker 3: or traveling around the world or even becoming a Reiki
- 48:59Speaker 3: practitioner or whatever it might be. that anxiety can be debilitating.
- 49:05Speaker 3: And it's all caused by the mind, nine times out
- 49:09Speaker 3: of ten. So just being able to master the mind,
- 49:11Speaker 3: connect it to the heart more purely, more fully, and
- 49:15Speaker 3: give ourselves time to do that, compassion to do that,
- 49:18Speaker 3: to say, you know, it's okay to feel this way, self-soothe,
- 49:22Speaker 3: not make it wrong. All of those things are teachers
- 49:25Speaker 3: we can get from the principles, the Reiki principles, and
- 49:29Speaker 3: we can just in real time manage to move ourselves
- 49:32Speaker 3: out of that dysregulated state. in sometimes minutes, as opposed
- 49:37Speaker 3: to holding onto it and having it all day and
- 49:39Speaker 3: having it spiral. So yeah, the human existence is filled
- 49:44Speaker 3: with suffering. We know that, and the Buddhists talk about
- 49:46Speaker 3: that all the time. But what Mikhail Yusuf identified was
- 49:51Speaker 3: anger and worry cause the most problems in our body,
- 49:55Speaker 3: in society, in life. And so if we can have
- 49:59Speaker 3: something that it's not, as I said, not to eradicate it,
- 50:03Speaker 3: not to make it wrong, but look at it differently.
- 50:07Speaker 3: That's the, that really is the victory to have compassion
- 50:10Speaker 3: for those things and get the message because every emotional
- 50:13Speaker 3: experience has information for us, has a message for us.
- 50:16Speaker 3: And on the other side of that is our growth
- 50:18Speaker 3: is our expansion. Um, I said, it doesn't mean it's
- 50:21Speaker 3: not going to come up again because there can be
- 50:23Speaker 3: different scenarios, different things, but we just want to stay
- 50:26Speaker 3: there as long, you know, as we would have done
- 50:28Speaker 3: in the past.
- 50:29Speaker 1: So, It's so funny looking at your title. It didn't
- 50:33Speaker 1: even strike me until you started talking about it, but
- 50:36Speaker 1: I'm like, that's exactly what brought me to Reiki. I mean,
- 50:38Speaker 1: quite literally I was, yeah, I was having, um, really
- 50:41Speaker 1: bad anxiety, which I had never had before. And I
- 50:44Speaker 1: went to an astrologer and because of the anxiety piece,
- 50:48Speaker 1: she told me, oh, you should go get a Reiki session.
- 50:50Speaker 2: I was like, what is that? Yeah.
- 50:53Speaker 1: So, yeah, but I think that, um, one, I love
- 50:59Speaker 1: that you bring up something that I think so many
- 51:01Speaker 1: people struggle with, suffer with, but again, this summit, that's,
- 51:05Speaker 1: what's so cool about it because these conversations are, I mean,
- 51:08Speaker 1: Reiki research and healthcare, psychic Reiki.
- 51:11Speaker 2: There's just so many.
- 51:13Speaker 1: Um, I wanted to ask you about, cause I know
- 51:15Speaker 1: you listen to, and there is a lot of interest
- 51:19Speaker 1: around this. Justin Stein, he talked about the Reiki history updates. Um, God,
- 51:27Speaker 1: they're just so, I'm just looking at the list of conversations.
- 51:29Speaker 1: There are just so many incredible conversations.
- 51:32Speaker 3: Justin is incredible to listen to. He's really charismatic and
- 51:36Speaker 3: very animated. You think, okay, research history, he's going to
- 51:39Speaker 3: be very red.
- 51:40Speaker 2: Yes, oh no, he is.
- 51:41Speaker 3: And he's not at all.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Not at all.
- 51:43Speaker 3: I find him fascinating to listen to.
- 51:45Speaker 2: Yes. Yeah.
- 51:47Speaker 1: And so this is one of the things, you know,
- 51:50Speaker 1: is interesting to me as well. And I think it's
- 51:52Speaker 1: important for everyone to know.
- 51:53Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 51:55Speaker 1: There are so many researchers and we'll say like historians
- 52:00Speaker 1: of Reiki who are continually doing research to understand more
- 52:07Speaker 1: about the founder, Yasui himself, but then also what it
- 52:14Speaker 1: was that he experienced that may have influenced what he
- 52:17Speaker 1: brought into the system that we practice. And so I
- 52:22Speaker 1: remember when I first learned Reiki, The story about him was,
- 52:27Speaker 1: I don't know, I guess basic in contrast to what
- 52:33Speaker 1: has been found out about him since then. And I
- 52:37Speaker 1: also want to mention Amanda Jane and Zilke. They wrote
- 52:42Speaker 1: a book some years ago called Women in Reiki. And
- 52:47Speaker 1: it focused a lot on the women in Reiki. But
- 52:52Speaker 1: there was also, I want to say... It may have
- 52:55Speaker 1: been Justin Stein's book. I want to say it's called Currents.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Reiki Currents. Oh, that's terrible.
- 53:04Speaker 1: I'll put it in the show.
- 53:05Speaker 2: Description because I can't remember.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but he had a piece in there that gave
- 53:11Speaker 1: so much background around Mrs. Takata that you don't typically
- 53:16Speaker 1: hear about in the just, you know, history as it's
- 53:20Speaker 1: been told. So I say that to say there's so
- 53:23Speaker 1: much more being discovered and.
- 53:25Speaker 2: It is quite fascinating.
- 53:27Speaker 1: What did you think about that conversation?
- 53:30Speaker 2: Do you remember?
- 53:30Speaker 3: No. Yeah. It was so interesting when he was able
- 53:36Speaker 3: to track certain things back to certain eras and times
- 53:39Speaker 3: with a lot of surmising around. I mean, I love
- 53:43Speaker 3: what he's discovered around the CV for sure. It was
- 53:46Speaker 3: in Taiwan. which is in the Kairi Sui CV at
- 53:49Speaker 3: age 38. And that was like, oh, my God, it
- 53:51Speaker 3: blew my mind and shared it with everybody. I think
- 53:54Speaker 3: other people were like, OK, you know, I like history.
- 53:57Speaker 3: I think it's interesting. But, yeah, just to see that
- 54:00Speaker 3: he was he was a he worked at a Christian
- 54:05Speaker 3: missionary in the States and in Japan, from what I understand,
- 54:10Speaker 3: which I know is the thing that caused a lot
- 54:11Speaker 3: of controversy there. But just to see as well, we
- 54:15Speaker 3: already have quite a bit on his memorial star and
- 54:17Speaker 3: about what a learned man he was. And he seems
- 54:19Speaker 3: to me like a seeker, like we, a lot of
- 54:22Speaker 3: us are, we're trying different modalities and religions because we're
- 54:25Speaker 3: seeking answers to questions. So we have that same curiosity
- 54:29Speaker 3: and that same desire to find, you know, Satori enlightenment
- 54:33Speaker 3: in some way. But this very secular path, you know,
- 54:38Speaker 3: which is reassuring in a way, you know, he was married,
- 54:40Speaker 3: had two kids and, traveled and studied in many different places.
- 54:46Speaker 3: So it was fascinating to hear a lot of it.
- 54:50Speaker 3: And I think while I listened to Nicholas Pearson as well,
- 54:54Speaker 3: I think I shared with you too, which was really
- 54:56Speaker 3: interesting because he looked at the origins of Hatsureho and
- 54:58Speaker 3: where it may have come from, even talking about the
- 55:02Speaker 3: new age sport movement in America, maybe contributing to some
- 55:05Speaker 3: of what Makayusu was talking about in terms of the
- 55:08Speaker 3: law of attraction and things like that, which surprised me.
- 55:11Speaker 3: I must say, because Buddhism has always fought those things anyway, actually. Um,
- 55:16Speaker 3: but yeah, I just, it just, I just had this
- 55:18Speaker 3: little epiphany that, okay, we can track back where maybe, uh,
- 55:24Speaker 3: certain meditations came from and where the symbols came from,
- 55:28Speaker 3: but where we don't really know. And there's possibly a
- 55:32Speaker 3: big piece missing, which is that some of it may
- 55:36Speaker 3: have been downloads, insights, intuition. you know, which is how
- 55:41Speaker 3: a lot of it happens for us as well. You know,
- 55:44Speaker 3: if I think about bringing in the light, that just
- 55:47Speaker 3: came to me. I wasn't taught that. It was just like, no,
- 55:49Speaker 3: bring this light in and have it go down into
- 55:52Speaker 3: the earth. And then I remember listening to one of
- 55:54Speaker 3: your podcasts from, you know, the 1900s, from 2013, I
- 56:00Speaker 3: think it was. And you were talking about this thing,
- 56:02Speaker 3: bringing the light and bring it down into the earth.
- 56:03Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh my God. So it's almost like
- 56:06Speaker 3: there's this energy field of knowledge that knows how to
- 56:10Speaker 3: get the best out of this that most people were
- 56:12Speaker 3: finding were drawing from. And to understand that there are
- 56:19Speaker 3: teachers in shamanism that teach this and the psychic world
- 56:22Speaker 3: teaches this. You said you went to psychic school. I
- 56:25Speaker 3: went to psychic school. They teach that, bring in the light.
- 56:28Speaker 3: And so it was interesting that that piece wasn't considered,
- 56:33Speaker 3: you know, that yes, he's probably learned and gathered information
- 56:36Speaker 3: from what he learned from Buddhism, maybe Christianity, Taoism, psychology.
- 56:42Speaker 3: He studied so many different things, very rich background there.
- 56:47Speaker 3: But how he first discovered Reiki was a whole psychic experience.
- 56:51Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 56:52Speaker 3: This light, this flash of light coming to his head,
- 56:55Speaker 3: his forehead. And we see that sometimes in Reiki.
- 56:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:59Speaker 3: So I think that it's just that space for that too.
- 57:03Speaker 3: That we may not be able to track everything back
- 57:06Speaker 3: to exact origin because some of it could have been
- 57:09Speaker 3: intuitively given, you know, downloaded.
- 57:14Speaker 1: Or even his own expansion of consciousness around what he
- 57:18Speaker 1: may have found that was more traditional. And I think
- 57:22Speaker 1: we all, again, have, like you and I have been sharing,
- 57:25Speaker 1: like we were given information. the foundations of Reiki, but
- 57:27Speaker 1: through our practice, we have received our own insights and experiences.
- 57:32Speaker 1: And that's one of the things I also find this
- 57:35Speaker 1: work that the researchers are doing. I find it fascinating.
- 57:38Speaker 1: I think it's endlessly interesting. But I also think it's
- 57:44Speaker 1: important not to get too attached to Because a lot of, again,
- 57:48Speaker 1: there's often some upset in the community around people wanting
- 57:53Speaker 1: to fight around what's right, what's wrong, what's true, what's not.
- 57:56Speaker 1: And again, I think that kind of goes against the
- 57:58Speaker 1: whole system in and of itself. But also, I really
- 58:03Speaker 1: do think like, yeah, all of this is, I mean,
- 58:05Speaker 1: incredibly interesting to me, truly. But I don't attach to
- 58:09Speaker 1: it or get so, I kind of just see it
- 58:12Speaker 1: as like, oh, that's interesting information.
- 58:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:16Speaker 2: But I.
- 58:17Speaker 1: also believe if Yasui were still living today, or if
- 58:21Speaker 1: he were living in these times, who knows how him
- 58:26Speaker 1: and his practice would have evolved and how that may
- 58:29Speaker 1: have influenced what he shared or what he practiced. And,
- 58:33Speaker 1: you know, again, like how, what, to your point, if
- 58:37Speaker 1: he had any type of downloads or insights that aren't
- 58:42Speaker 1: known to us, that may be in some hidden journal somewhere, That.
- 58:46Speaker 2: May also give us another texture.
- 58:47Speaker 3: Please come forward.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Yeah, give us the journal.
- 58:49Speaker 3: Keep listening.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Come forward. But it may provide more texture to the history, right?
- 58:56Speaker 1: So I love it, but I just want to tell people, like,
- 58:59Speaker 1: you know, if you, again, if you hear different things
- 59:02Speaker 1: or things bother you, take a breath and remember the Gokai.
- 59:06Speaker 2: Do not be angry.
- 59:07Speaker 1: Just, you know, it's... it's, but it is, it all
- 59:11Speaker 1: has been so fascinating. But something you said too, I
- 59:14Speaker 1: want to point out really quickly. I know our time
- 59:16Speaker 1: is almost up. The psychic work. It's interesting because once
- 59:22Speaker 1: I went to that, there was so much emphasis on
- 59:24Speaker 1: keeping our energy channels clear. So even though it wasn't,
- 59:28Speaker 1: you know, Reiki per se, but there was still that
- 59:31Speaker 1: element of importance of making sure your energy body, your
- 59:34Speaker 1: energy channels were very clear. And we essentially are working
- 59:40Speaker 1: our energetic self and keeping our energy. helping to move
- 59:44Speaker 1: and clarify and purify our energy channels, our mind, all
- 59:48Speaker 1: kinds of things. So, yeah, there's definitely a correlation between
- 59:53Speaker 1: the two. I don't think you can really separate the two.
- 59:55Speaker 3: No, no. And we can learn so much from other
- 59:58Speaker 3: energy modalities like traditional Chinese medicine. I love studying that
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: and looking at that in terms of the meridian lines
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: and how they speak to what we might be sensing
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: or feeling. Right. even pranic healing. They do a similar
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: thing with the light. So there's so many, Ayurvedic medicine
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: as well, you know, so it's given us the chakras.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: So there's so many things we can pull in that
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: inform Reiki because Reiki is a word, we know what
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: it means, spiritual life force energy, but we just equate
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: that word to, like I used to recreate in a system.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: And it's like me saying, oh yeah, I practice spiritualism.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: or I practice air. Do you see what I mean?
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: It's the word that encompasses all of it. And so
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: I think when we embrace that too, embrace the differences,
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: the different ideas, the different perspectives, and as you said,
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: we're all seeing it for our own experience. So it's
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: going to be different. But even the fact I understood
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: that Mikai Usui, I don't know if I got this
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: from Fran Stein, but understood that when Mikai Usui first
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: did attunements, He would just sit in front of the
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: students and his energy was so high and so powerful
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: with such a high frequency that the student would become attuned.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: But over time, humans being humans, we want more, we
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: want more ritual, we want something around it to prove
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: that we actually have done something. He started introducing certain
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: things in that way. And so he evolved then. And
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: I'm sure, as you said, if he was alive today,
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: it would be different again. There'd be different things that
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: he'd be introducing and embracing and evolving.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: Well, to your point, too, I think that goes back
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: to what, you know, we were talking about earlier, the
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: cultivation of energy and the importance of our practice. Because
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: he didn't just come out of the womb able to
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: project and emanate that high of a level of frequency.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: It was through practice and certain techniques that help us
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: all have the availability to do that. But yeah, and
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: so again, I think sometimes in the stories around Yasui
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: and even looking at the different elements within the system,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: when the history of those are provided, plus with our practice,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: we get to discover the subtleties that aren't necessarily said directly.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: So there's a lot within the system that, yeah, we
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: can read in a book and someone can tell us,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: but it only gives us a very like base level
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: of meaning. And then it is the practice and sometimes
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: understanding the origin that then cracks open this whole other
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: level of understanding around what it is. Just like I
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: was saying with Seheki and then Arjava was the first
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: person I heard tell the story about the seed syllable
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: Hri and Senju.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: Kanan and that whole story.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: And I was just like, what? That like turned the whole,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: the symbol in of itself.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: It gave it a different texture for me.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: And, you know, it made me, anyway, I think it
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: just goes with what we've been saying all along that
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: the study and practice of are meant to be ongoing.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Just as a side note, before we go, I was like,
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: what did I talk about in the summit this year?
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: I did Reiki as a practice of energetic alchemy.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Cause clearly.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: That would be what I wanted to talk about. But again,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: just for everyone listening, if you enjoyed this conversation with
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: Gwen and I, Hopefully you'll hear more of us together
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: in the future. We always have a good time. But
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Gwen has an incredible YouTube channel. I actually just recently
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: on my site, took the interview of you interviewing me
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: and put it on my I think it's on my
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: about me page and some other page I was like
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: god I love having conversations with Gwen um but Gwen
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: also has a podcast that is incredible so could you
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: tell us about where people can find you what you
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: have going on anything coming up for the remainder of
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: this year Okay.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Yeah. So they can find me at myspiritualbutterfly.com, the website.
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: The YouTube channel is also My Spiritual Butterfly. And that's amazing.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: Every week I put out a video there and it's
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: about Reiki or spirituality, us in some way. So it's really,
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: I'm really enjoying doing that. And I'm also on Instagram,
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: My Spiritual Butterfly. In terms of what's coming up for me,
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: what's coming up we've just done all the retreats now
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: so yeah we have uh creating a successful if you're
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: based in london or the uk creating a successful reiki
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: business i run that because business isn't just the the
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: the kind of brick and mortar practical things that we
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: have to do business is also an energy and so
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: it's nice to present it present both sides of that
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: and give people practices around that to help them alleviate
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: any fears they have around business imposter syndrome, being seen,
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: all of those things, as well as doing some work,
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: which allows you to step into the identity of a
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: business owner. So that's really fun. That's a nice fun
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: day that we do there. And obviously I teach all
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: levels of Reiki, Reiki one to master level in the UK.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: So they're welcome to see that on the website as well.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: And of course the Reiki teachings and self-practice group is
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: a lovely group to join. If you're already attuned to Reiki,
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: then that's quite nice to kind of join that and
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: start to build on your knowledge of Reiki, but your
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: self-practice more importantly.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: So, yeah. Yeah.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: Well, I'm obviously going to put all these links down
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: in the show description so you all can connect with
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: Gwen quite easily. For some reason, I feel like there
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: was another link we were going to put, but I'll
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: also put in the show description the link to the
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: Reiki Raise Global Healing Summit. Because again, you just have,
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: an incredible amount of information to support your practice and
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: your understanding of the system from a bunch of different
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: lenses and views that I think is important. I think
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: on my end, what is coming up, the activation circles
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: on the app, like I said, you can download the
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: app to access those. And Alchemy Circle will be starting soon.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: the new round cause it's a year long program. Um, but, uh,
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: that will start in December. So I'll put the link
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: for that.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: And I think that's it. I don't know. Anything else
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: coming up? I don't know.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: Maybe you think of anything else.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: Send me the link. Yes.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: But I have to thank you again, my love for
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: saying yes to me. Just say, Hey, will you come
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: talk with me about Reiki? Really?
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: That was the extent of my request.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: No, I didn't know you were going to record it,
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: but I'm loving that you're putting it out there. But yeah,
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: I apologize for my lighting. I literally thought we were
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: just going to have a little chat.
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: Oh my God, you thought this was going to be private?
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it was just a private chat. I don't know
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: why I thought that. But it's absolutely fine.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: It's fine.
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: Any opportunity to share what's coming up for me about Reiki,
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: talk about Reiki, I'm there. So I love it. I
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: just wanted to apologize for my life. Hilarious.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: No, you look gorgeous as always.
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: No, you look beautiful as always.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: I guess that's good that you're always prepared visually. Well,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: thank you, my love. And for all of you, thank
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: you for joining us. We'll see you soon.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Thank you, everybody. Bye.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: Okay, beautiful, optimistic. And I just want to thank you
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: all so much for being here.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: On Reiki Radio.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: Reiki Radio has been here since 2013. So I'm always
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: just beyond grateful, quite frankly, for those of you who
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: have been listening since then.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: And amazed and very, very.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Thankful for those of you who are still new and
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: just finding the podcast. So welcome and thank you again
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: to all of you for being here and for sharing
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: Reiki Radio with your own communities. Thank you so much
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: to Gwen for having such an open, honest conversation about Reiki.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: These are the types of conversations I love to have.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: And so I look forward to having more of them
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: with some other friends here in the Reiki community. And
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: I hope that you all enjoy that as well. Don't forget,
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: if you want to connect with Gwen and her work,
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: the links are down in the show description. If you
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: want to connect with me and my work or join
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: me in the Alchemy Circle, the links are down in
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: the show description. And finally, do not forget, if you
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: want to hear a variety of conversations about within the
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: realm of Reiki, be sure to click on the link
