- 0:25Now, here's Pastor Ed to take us into our study.
- 0:31Amen. Amen.
- 0:32Would you take your Bibles? Open them to Genesis chapter 25
- 0:36Genesis chapter 25 and I've entitled our Bible study.
- 0:41Don't feed your flesh. Don't feed your flesh and I'm
- 0:46sure you've heard the phrases. Like the Apple doesn't fall far
- 0:50from the tree or she's a chip off the old block or like father
- 0:55like son and they're all trying to describe when he heard a
- 0:59phrase like that the Molarities that often exists between a
- 1:03parent and their child. A father to son a mother to
- 1:07daughter, a father to daughter mother to son and many times.
- 1:11It's a good thing trying to describe the great qualities
- 1:15that have been passed on generationally in a home raised
- 1:19by your parents. You know, in a Christian Home in
- 1:22a home that we've dedicated to following God submitted to him,
- 1:26wanting to raise, not just good kids although that's great.
- 1:30But Godly kids kids, that love the Lord, you know, in a
- 1:34Christian home, we want our kids to pick up our Godly habits, we
- 1:38want them to watch us and see our spiritual Tendencies, and
- 1:43our spiritual decisions. And and I know I in raising my
- 1:47children at, this was a high priority for me as I didn't want
- 1:51them to repeat all of the sinful decisions and all the pain I
- 1:54experienced because of the many, many bad decisions that I made
- 1:59apart from Christ. I wanted them to know there's a
- 2:02better way. I wanted them to know that they
- 2:04didn't have to pay. There was life would still be
- 2:07hard, but it didn't have to take the route of sinful hard.
- 2:12It could be a route of trusting in the Lord, and at the same
- 2:16time, you know, unfortunately, our kids do pick up our bad
- 2:21habits, you know, the things in our lives, the tendency of our
- 2:25fallen nature, they learn by example, the wrong things
- 2:29through our lives. And it is true.
- 2:31The Apple doesn't fall far from the tree so if your spiritual
- 2:36listen, if your spiritual if you have a real relationship with
- 2:40God, then you'll find that your kids will follow that.
- 2:44But if you're not taking the things of Jesus Christ,
- 2:47seriously, then your kids will follow and so will those that
- 2:51are close to you, those that look up to you, your
- 2:53friendships, those, are you work with your following the Lord?
- 2:57That's going to be noticeable. If you choose not to follow
- 3:00close to it'll be noticeable. And I remember you can just jot
- 3:04it down and First Corinthians chapter 11 and verse 1.
- 3:08The Paul the Apostle would say imitate me as I imitate Christ,
- 3:14we're in the second section with that.
- 3:16In mind of Genesis we're in the second section of Genesis that
- 3:20deals with the families in particular, the family of
- 3:23Abraham father Abraham We're following along Abraham, his
- 3:29son, Isaac and his son, Jacob. And finally Joseph.
- 3:34And we are yet another transition.
- 3:37And we since we studied Through the Bible, verse by verse
- 3:39chapter by chapter, we've had studies that have covered all 24
- 3:43chapters. So far there are all available
- 3:46on our app. You can go to your app store and
- 3:48just put my name in there at Taylor.
- 3:50The app will pop up. Download it turn on
- 3:53notifications. All of our studies are there.
- 3:57Available to you that we've taught here, you can go to the
- 3:59website as well. You can catch up and dive in
- 4:03from the very beginning we're picking up tonight because
- 4:06that's where we are. But it's a transition we come to
- 4:10the death now of Abraham, this man of Faith, this man of
- 4:14failure and then our attention will be on Isaac and God's
- 4:18dealings with him. And one thing we'll find out
- 4:22very quickly with Isaac is like father, like son, It's lived out
- 4:29and that statement verse 1 of chapter 25, no Abraham.
- 4:32Again, took a wife and her name was Keturah and she bore him
- 4:37Zim. Ron Jackson Meade on million-ish
- 4:40Bach and schewe jokshan begat Sheba and dedan and the sons of
- 4:45d-dan were ashram, let to shim, and let him.
- 4:48And the sons of Midian, worry, foggy for hanok abadieh Elda,
- 4:53and all these were the children of Keturah.
- 4:56Now, some of you That are new to the Bible.
- 4:58You're like, why did the names matter?
- 5:00Let me tell you why. The names matter if your name
- 5:02was in the list, it would matter to you.
- 5:04Why? Because families are important
- 5:07and, you know, the names are a little different there, Hebrew
- 5:09and origin. There were Distance by time and
- 5:12space but not so much people and families were important, 6000
- 5:175000 years ago. Families are important today.
- 5:21So, each time you face, one of these hard words to read or one
- 5:23of these families and you're just wondering all these names.
- 5:26Well, these To store, attach two sons and daughters.
- 5:29They're attached to moms and dads and families are important.
- 5:33This was a decision of Abraham. Now taking on another wife or
- 5:38perhaps a concubine, he marries has more children, the list of
- 5:42the sons of Keturah here, produced more Nations.
- 5:45And I believe that's listed here on purpose to introduce us to
- 5:50another family and nation. That will be very difficult for
- 5:55the nation of Israel. It's there in verse For and
- 5:57that's the sons of Midian the midianites, they're going to be
- 6:01a great challenge as they come up later with Moses and all
- 6:04throughout the life of Israel. Now it's important that we pause
- 6:08here as you notice in verse 5 it says Abraham gave all that he
- 6:14had to Isaac and Abraham gave gifts to the sons of the
- 6:18concubines, which Abraham had while he was still living, He
- 6:22sent them Eastward away from Isaac, his son to the country of
- 6:26the We have to pause here and briefly discuss this issue of
- 6:31polygamy. Because critics of the Bible, or
- 6:33those with questions that seem to go unanswered about the
- 6:36Bible, will use these episodes in the lives of the men that God
- 6:41used. As some way to discredit the
- 6:43Bible and say see here look at the Christian morality and look
- 6:48at what you're doing in the church.
- 6:50And you don't even follow your own Bible in the people.
- 6:52Don't and all the critics come here because they say, look,
- 6:54here's somebody that you say, God used greatly And he had many
- 6:58wives, and the answer to that question is, yes God did use him
- 7:02vary greatly and yes, he had many wives, but something else
- 7:05needs to be said, and that is he had many wives sinfully, this
- 7:11wasn't approved by God. It actually turns the critic, it
- 7:14turns the criticism, back on someone's head to say, hey look
- 7:19like the Bible is divine in origin.
- 7:22The man that man didn't write the Bible because you know, as
- 7:25well as I do that. If we Men wrote the Bible.
- 7:28They wouldn't include all the bad stuff.
- 7:31They wouldn't include how bad we were and say, look at Abraham.
- 7:34Look how much in look what a knucklehead.
- 7:36He was selling out, his wife and look, what a knucklehead.
- 7:39He was having concubines and disobeying the direct command of
- 7:44God and we study this in previous studies in Genesis.
- 7:47So I'm not going to develop it now.
- 7:49But remember God's order and design is one man.
- 7:53One woman, one flesh and One Lie.
- 7:57Lifetime. That is the highest of course,
- 8:01because we've fallen in nature and we sin.
- 8:04So many have been touched by divorce that God's ideal has not
- 8:09been accomplished because of our sin, but even so, even through
- 8:13failure, God can bring about something beautiful and
- 8:16wonderful but God's design is not polygamy even though
- 8:20culturally it was acceptable and that is one of the challenges
- 8:23that you and I face here. There are many things,
- 8:26culturally that are edible that many people are into but are not
- 8:30acceptable to God. And you need to choose an I need
- 8:34to choose to follow the lord, no matter what's happening in the
- 8:37culture it doesn't matter what's popular?
- 8:40Doesn't matter what's everybody's doing?
- 8:42We have to always come back to. What is God's ideal?
- 8:46What's the goal that God has for us?
- 8:48What is his desire for my life, for your life?
- 8:52What is his moral standard? We have really two choices when
- 8:56you're making moral decisions, you know, that two choices, when
- 8:59you're developing the direction of your life, when you You are
- 9:02faced with crisis and what do I do next?
- 9:04There's only two choices you can begin with the foundation of
- 9:08man's way and man's ideal, or you can begin with the
- 9:12foundation of God's word, where he's establishes.
- 9:16You don't have a third option. There's no mixture can be a
- 9:19little bit man's way. And it's, what does God say
- 9:22about the matter? And that's what I want to do.
- 9:26That's the direction I want. How, what does God say about
- 9:28raising my kids? That's what I want.
- 9:30What does God say about marriage?
- 9:31That's what I want. What does God say about?
- 9:33Premarital sex? That's what I want.
- 9:35What does God say about stealing?
- 9:37That's what I want but you don't understand.
- 9:39Edward what about what everything you know.
- 9:40What does God say? About drugs and alcohol?
- 9:42Well you know, everything is legal now.
- 9:44Yeah. But does that would God's desire
- 9:46is for you to be out of your mind all the time for you to be
- 9:49high and, you know, going around, not knowing what's going
- 9:52on and be out of your mind, you know, it's not God's will for
- 9:55you. But it's legal, it's culturally
- 9:57acceptable, but it's not God's way.
- 10:01God's way is very clear. Many times, the Bible commands
- 10:05us to be sober but also how God's ways, very clear be not
- 10:09drunk with wine, which is an emptiness and dissipation, but
- 10:12be filled with the Holy Spirit, couldn't be clearer and ask any
- 10:16of us that alcohol wrecked our lives.
- 10:19And you, we would tell you that's true.
- 10:21That's true. That's true.
- 10:23And I think of, when the Proverbs even in the mouth of
- 10:25Solomon Solomon, said, wine, is a mocker and it is, it promises
- 10:31so much and ends up destroying your life.
- 10:33And if If not destroying your life, destroying your brain
- 10:35cells one cup at a time, things stand, I don't know about you,
- 10:40but I need as many brain cells as I can possibly get, I need as
- 10:45much in my life to serve the Lord as possible polygamy.
- 10:49Is not approved by God even though you see it many times
- 10:52because there was a choice made to be culturally appropriate and
- 10:57that's what they did. It's too bad.
- 11:01Because even though it was culturally appropriate, it
- 11:04wasn't God's design. It got Abraham into trouble, it
- 11:09wrecked a family. Does he see that in verse 5 as
- 11:13you see in says Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.
- 11:18He gave all they had to Isaac, which in one sense makes sense.
- 11:22Isaac, is the promised child, but you'll recall, Isaac wasn't
- 11:27the first child born to Abraham, Abraham had other kids.
- 11:30He was first, had he first. His first son was named Ishmael,
- 11:36and we know that he loved his smile, wasn't the promised
- 11:39child, but he loved his son. But yet, here he gave all, I
- 11:44haven't marked in my Bible, I circled the word.
- 11:46All he gave it all to Isaac, which would create sibling
- 11:51rivalry and frustrations. Just like, we're going to see
- 11:54what Joseph later on toward the end of of Genesis.
- 11:58He gives all that his father had, he's the child of Promise.
- 12:01He's the heir of all things and yes it was necessary because
- 12:05remember in the Book of Genesis there's a bunch of pictures and
- 12:08types pointing forward to the New Testament.
- 12:11So Here, Isaac, the sun is a type of Jesus Abraham, here is a
- 12:16type of the father and the son receives.
- 12:19All that is the Father's. Just like we read you note
- 12:22takers and John chapter 17 Colossians chapter 1.
- 12:28But you know what causes all kinds of difficulties among the
- 12:30kids? Abraham gave gifts.
- 12:34He gave everything, Isaac, but he gave gifts, and there's
- 12:37already favoritism there, it's forced upon him because of his
- 12:41decisions. Why?
- 12:43Because you got to understand this, it happens in the positive
- 12:48but it happens in the negative 2.
- 12:50If you sow to the spirit, you're going to reap everlasting life.
- 12:53That's the positive. But if you sow to the flesh,
- 12:57you're going to reap corruption. The picture is used of sowing
- 13:00seeds. That's the picture sewing
- 13:02sewing. Sees what you sow is.
- 13:04What's going to grow. What you're sewing out?
- 13:06You're going to go, I want you to think about this the seed
- 13:10that you plant today. You're not going to see it grow
- 13:14for some time. There's going to be time before
- 13:18you plant today and then you harvest later and it's the same
- 13:21with anything. You're making decisions today.
- 13:25And then you may just say let's just say maybe perhaps this is
- 13:28from the Lord right now. Maybe let's just say some really
- 13:30bad decisions this morning. I mean you knew you knew they
- 13:33were bad maybe even outright sinful.
- 13:36If not simple just compromising you you made some really bad
- 13:39decisions today and around noon or 1:00.
- 13:43Nobody found out. You think you got away with it?
- 13:47And you just going to move on with the rest of the day.
- 13:50Okay. Alright, alright no problem.
- 13:53But you know you planted a seed that's going to going to give
- 13:55you harvest soon enough. It's not just going to go away.
- 13:58There's no repentance you just kind of hold good I got away
- 14:00with it but you didn't get away with it because what you sow is
- 14:05what you're going to reap. And even if you think you got
- 14:09away with it or it's no big deal or it's a new pattern in your
- 14:13life or you just kind of adds compromise.
- 14:15It's not that big a deal. The reality is is it will catch
- 14:18up to you and it does catch up with the family.
- 14:21It's something that kept going on through the generations
- 14:25continual sinful decisions will notice in verse 7.
- 14:31Now, This is the sum of Abraham's years, the life that
- 14:36he lived a hundred and seventy-five years old just teen
- 14:39you imagine living to 175 and then Abraham breathed his last
- 14:44and died in a good old age and old man, full of years and
- 14:48gathered to his people. I'm sure at 175, he was ready to
- 14:55go on to the city whose Builder and maker is God.
- 14:59I mean, he was ready and that would make his son. 675.
- 15:04Jacob would be 15 around this time.
- 15:07Which tells us from Genesis chapter 12, again, Bible study
- 15:11to get to dig into different comparing passages.
- 15:14And from Genesis chapter 12, it tells us that Abraham had 100
- 15:19years living in the promises of God.
- 15:21We're in the promised land, a good bulk of his time was lived
- 15:26in the promised land and I like this phrase, it stuck out to me
- 15:30and I was reading it where it says a Good old age, Abraham was
- 15:36full of years and I think sometimes we despise getting
- 15:42older. We despise getting older, our
- 15:46society differently? Does not only is our society,
- 15:50you know, minimize getting older but they've made a business of
- 15:53trying to hide it because that's all it really is.
- 15:56You just trying to, you just trying to hide it and they make
- 16:00billions of dollars hiding age, but God values age, and God
- 16:06values, wisdom and to live through a good old age is
- 16:11fantastic and this is the reality.
- 16:14Single one of us, no matter how old you are today, whether
- 16:17you're feeling it or not, I'm certainly feeling my own age,
- 16:21whether you feel it or not, you're all getting older.
- 16:25That's nothing you can do about it.
- 16:28You just Rejoice that God has given you days to live and weeks
- 16:32to live and months to live. You don't know, you don't know
- 16:36how long you're going to live. You don't know when your life is
- 16:39going to be held account, you're going to be called home.
- 16:41You don't know. That's why God, he teaches us to
- 16:44live every day. To the Bible says, teach us to
- 16:47number our days. Let our days matter in the
- 16:51Kingdom, but we're all aging. To a good old age 175, which
- 16:57reminded me of our own Fellowship, who are
- 16:59multi-generational church. That's what people that study
- 17:03churches would call us. We have no intentional, we have
- 17:05no intention to be any kind of church, but a real church that
- 17:09God is doing is going to be multi-generational.
- 17:12It's not like we have a plan. Let's have a multi-generational
- 17:14church but that's what we have from a baby that day.
- 17:17You know. I think I dedicated a year
- 17:19year-and-a-half this Sunday to those that are in their 80s,
- 17:22maybe even their 90's. You know, you got a baby that's
- 17:27up here. Crying and screaming and yelling
- 17:29and can hear every little noise then we got an 80 year old
- 17:31messing with their hearing aid. You know, turning it down for
- 17:34worship and turning it up for the preacher or there was a guy
- 17:38back in the day when we were meeting in the school that I
- 17:40always see him messing, because we were so close.
- 17:42You could see everybody so close in the school and I always see
- 17:45him mess with his hearing aids. And I'd go up to him and go.
- 17:48Hey, I bet you're turning it up for the worship and turning it
- 17:50down for the preacher, aren't you?
- 17:52And we always have a nice little Chuckle with them but that's the
- 17:55generation from babies. You know, we've got pregnant,
- 17:58ladies to people right on the edge of Eternity and God
- 18:02intended it to be that. And those of you that are older,
- 18:05even though you live in a society that says there's no
- 18:07need for you that we don't want you.
- 18:10Let's just put you away and forget about.
- 18:12You not. So in the church and I'll tell
- 18:14you right now, I'm not. So in this church, you are
- 18:17valuable and important and desired to use your gifts and
- 18:21talents in this church. And all the Our people, they
- 18:25need you. They need your wisdom.
- 18:27They need your understanding. They need you in their life, so
- 18:30they can serve you and learn what it's like to serve South
- 18:33sacrificially. We need every generation, but
- 18:36especially, especially those of you that would say, well, I'm
- 18:39pretty close Pastor to the good old age.
- 18:41Well, we're glad you've lived so many years now, serve the Lord
- 18:44with joy and gladness or like our own Pastor.
- 18:47Bob would say that. God spoke to him that in the
- 18:49latter years, he would be more fruitful than all of the
- 18:53earlier. Years of his life and you're
- 18:55wanted and needed in this church.
- 18:58I think of so many times how the Bible speaks?
- 19:00First Timothy Chapter 5, you want to jot it down Titus, I
- 19:04want you to turn over to Titus, Chapter 2, that's going to be
- 19:06all the way in to the end of the New Testament and just see the
- 19:10Bible speaks of age. And in our culture doesn't have
- 19:13the same middle eastern culture that kept families together and
- 19:18family, served each other, and didn't give up on each other,
- 19:21even especially when they were the most vulnerable.
- 19:24We aren't culture just as lost it.
- 19:27Why? Because they've turned their
- 19:28back on the Lord. And in Titus in chapter two, You
- 19:33know, you see that in verse one, speak the things that are proper
- 19:38for sound doctrine that the older men.
- 19:41Here's the direction for you. Older men, you be sober and stay
- 19:45reverent and temperate sound in faith and love and impatience
- 19:51and you older women and that's the word of the Bible.
- 19:54Not Ed that you older ladies, you be reverent in Behavior.
- 19:59The Bible says don't be Jurors or given to much wine or
- 20:05teachers and be and be teachers of good things.
- 20:08Admonished the young women to love their husbands, to love
- 20:12their children to be discreet and chased and homemakers good
- 20:17obedient to their own husband's. That the word of God may not be
- 20:21blasphemed remind them and teach them you're needed in the
- 20:25church. So so important Abraham is old
- 20:29as God intended, he breathed his last note This verse 9 back in
- 20:33Genesis now. And his sons Isaac and Ishmael
- 20:37were buried him in a cave of machpelah, which is before mamre
- 20:41in the field of Ephron, the son of Zohar the hittite.
- 20:45The feel with a which Abraham purchased from the sons of Heth,
- 20:49their Abraham was buried and Sarah, his wife and it came to
- 20:52pass after the death of Abraham that God blessed, his son,
- 20:56Isaac, and Isaac, dwelt at Bay birla.
- 20:59Hi Roy. So Abraham is buried alongside
- 21:02his Sarah. His wife the cave, he bought
- 21:04remember Or earlier for about four hundred shekels.
- 21:08And here again, I want you to notice this.
- 21:11This is especially important for those of you that have estranged
- 21:16families. Or family members that are
- 21:20separate from you and you need reconciliation many times
- 21:26reconciliation occurs or begins after a traumatic event in the
- 21:32family where people are forced to come back together.
- 21:36Doesn't have to be but that's what we see here.
- 21:38Isaac, and Ishmael are together again.
- 21:41And why are they together again? Because their dad died.
- 21:46There's something about that softness that comes in families,
- 21:49not always but many times that reconciliation can take place,
- 21:54reconciliation is the heart of God.
- 21:57It's his desire and Reconciliation is accomplished
- 22:01one way and one way alone. All the problems that exist
- 22:06between husbands and wives between brothers and sisters,
- 22:10bosses and employees, you know, employees and employees,
- 22:14neighbors and friends, all the separation and families
- 22:18reconciliation happens. One Way, somebody's got to die.
- 22:23Not physically. But spiritually, a dying to
- 22:27yourself. A dying too.
- 22:32Your rights. What you've established and the
- 22:36argument that you've made and how you've Justified that's the
- 22:41pathway reconciliation involves forgiveness, it involves
- 22:47repentance, right? Reconciliation comes when the
- 22:50offending party repents. It's not going to happen without
- 22:55that, you don't control that, you can't make it happen.
- 22:58But what you can do is you can forgive the person that hurt
- 23:01you. You can release them from the
- 23:04debt that they've put upon you. The ongoing send that's come
- 23:08against you that could very well, be the Catalyst of the
- 23:12separation. And then maybe responded
- 23:15incorrectly and now now the farther and farther and farther
- 23:18away. But when God brings it to a
- 23:19place where you learn to die to yourself and you extend, true
- 23:23forgiveness, why would you forgive well?
- 23:24The Bible says that we forgive because of all that we've been
- 23:27forgiven, he who loves much, who is Forgiven much loves much and
- 23:34it really comes from a work of the Holy Spirit, but
- 23:38reconciliation is going to happen.
- 23:39Keep fighting reconciliation is going to happen to keep arguing,
- 23:43keep proving your point. He's got to take it to the Lord
- 23:46and ask him to work in the situation and it could happen.
- 23:50You can be looking for those situations where God uses a
- 23:53situation to bring you back together.
- 23:56So I ask you who will humble themselves to give the situation
- 24:00over to God on either side of me to my left and to my right there
- 24:05are baskets up here after every service we invite you up.
- 24:08If you need prayer and encouragement, the Bible study
- 24:12minister to you or something went through the pastures or
- 24:14usually up here, men, and women on our prayer team.
- 24:17We pray with you, and encourage you.
- 24:18And on either side, we have a basket filled with information.
- 24:22In that basket is a packet. Entitled forgiveness and
- 24:26Reconciliation. It is small, but very thorough
- 24:32and I invite you whether it's tonight or any other time.
- 24:35If this is an issue in your life, no matter how bad it is,
- 24:38no matter whose fault it is. And none of that.
- 24:41Any of those, you can bring whatever the situation is.
- 24:44I encourage you to pick up the packet and take it.
- 24:46It's free. It's always free.
- 24:49It will always be free. If you're listening on the radio
- 24:51right now or watching this online, you can email me Ed at
- 24:55Ed Taylor dot org, and I can email you.
- 24:58The PDF, I can send it to you by email every single person that
- 25:02emails me, I'll send you a whole list of resources on this topic,
- 25:06but you guys that are in front of me right now, you can get one
- 25:08before you leave. I think we did not get them
- 25:12feel. So there's not up there, you're
- 25:13going to all have to email me. It's unfortunate because I asked
- 25:17for it to be filled. So you'll have to email me and I
- 25:21will send you the PDF, you can print it out on your own printer
- 25:25and maybe they're not standing up.
- 25:28They Not standing up but if you don't see them email me and I'll
- 25:32send it to you along with a packet that a lot of different
- 25:36information on this topic including including no they're
- 25:41not there, thanks for checking. So this is very very important
- 25:45that the Holy Spirit would use you to step into forgiveness, to
- 25:50walk in forgiveness and to learn to walk in humility, come back
- 25:54to the text. Now, let's pick up in verse 12.
- 25:58It says, now this is the genealogy of Ishmael, Abraham's
- 26:01son, whom Hagar the Egyptian Sarah's maidservant Board of
- 26:05Abraham. And these were the names of the
- 26:07sons of Ishmael by their names. According to their Generations,
- 26:11the firstborn of Ishmael niba jaws, and Kate are and abdiel
- 26:16and mid Sam and mich Mon Dieu. Mamasa.
- 26:19Hate RT, magette. Turn a fish.
- 26:22Qetema perfect biblical names for your kids.
- 26:26These are the sons of Ishmael. Male, these are the names by
- 26:28their towns, their settlements twelve Prince's, according to
- 26:31their Nations, these were the years of their life of Ishmael
- 26:35137 years, and he breathed his last and died and was gathered
- 26:39to his people. And they dwell from have a law
- 26:41as far as sure, which is east of Egypt.
- 26:44As you go toward Assyria and he died in the presence of all his
- 26:50Brethren. Now, back in chapter 16 and
- 26:53again, in chapter 21, God said he would bless Ishmael and Make
- 26:58a great nation of him. Fulfilled, we got some here.
- 27:00So now we're here they just appeared all the packets so
- 27:04they're available. So remember with Ishmael, God
- 27:07promised that he would bless him and here we have a list of the
- 27:11family line that came through Ishmael.
- 27:13So although Ishmael is not the promised child.
- 27:16God still said I'll bless you. And here he is experiencing the
- 27:20blessings and this is all from Ishmael.
- 27:24Notice verse 19 now is the genealogy of Isaac which
- 27:28remember don't forget this remember as we move forward
- 27:32through Genesis and all the different everything is pointing
- 27:36to Messiah. So there are are there areas
- 27:40that like the genealogy of Ishmael that would then show
- 27:43God's keeping of his promise? But the real promise that we're
- 27:47looking to see fulfilled continually is of Messiah.
- 27:51So now we're hitting on that lineage through Isaac Abraham's
- 27:55son, it says verse 19. Abraham begat.
- 27:57Isaac, Isaac was 40 years old when he took Rebecca, his wife
- 28:01daughter of bethuel, the Syrian of paddan-aram, the sister of
- 28:05Laban, the Syrian verse 21, Isaac pleaded, Mark, that word,
- 28:10Isaac, pleaded with the Lord, for his wife, because she was
- 28:14Barren, and the Lord, granted his plea, and Rebecca, his wife
- 28:20conceived. So, Isaac's, 40 years old when
- 28:24he's married and notice Mark these words husband's Isaac
- 28:28pleaded with the Lord for his wife.
- 28:32Isaac pleaded with the Lord for his wife and in this case, it
- 28:35was a very specific prayer that she might conceive.
- 28:38A child. Rebecca waited, 20 years for
- 28:44this prayer to be answered. It was a very difficult
- 28:49difficult position to be in this culture and Society for women to
- 28:53be barren. And I just like, what Isaac does
- 28:57here menu can bless your wife so much, if you just pray for them
- 29:02and pray with them. I know it's on repeat, isn't it?
- 29:07There's a few things on repeat here in this church.
- 29:10Read your Bible and pray every day.
- 29:11It's on repeat. It's on.
- 29:13Repeat you want to see spiritual growth in your life?
- 29:16Then read your Bible and pray everyday.
- 29:19The are experiencing difficulty in your marriage right now.
- 29:23This will turn to the husband and say are you reading the
- 29:25Bible with your wife? And are you praying with your
- 29:29wife? Sometimes?
- 29:30The answer is flat-out. No, sometimes it's she doesn't
- 29:33want to then the next question will be.
- 29:36Are you reading your Bible for your wife?
- 29:39And are you praying for your wife?
- 29:42Well, you know, I thought it was only together.
- 29:44No. You need to plead with the Lord
- 29:45for your wife or vice versa went lot.
- 29:48Wives plead with the Lord for your husband's The victory, as
- 29:52we learned with Moses recently, is in that place of prayer.
- 29:56It's not in the place of battle or argumentation or discussed.
- 30:01The Bible tells us in Ephesians that husbands were responsible
- 30:04to what, to wash our wise, with what the water of the word to
- 30:09pray. The Bible over them into pray,
- 30:11the Bible to them and to pray the Bible into them, to make the
- 30:14language of the Bible. The language that I speak to my
- 30:18wife with now, doesn't mean I walk around saying, okay, Marie.
- 30:21The John 3:16 stand there right now.
- 30:24Ed told me to pray like God, so, loved the world.
- 30:27I means you, I don't, I didn't say preach messages, but like,
- 30:31you know, you're frustrated, you have an argument with your wife,
- 30:33you're on the way to work, you're mad at your husband and
- 30:35you're on your way to work. Instead of rehearsing how
- 30:37horrible person they are. You start praying for them, he's
- 30:41go you Lord, you know, my heart. You know how much I love her?
- 30:43You know how much I love him and I can't do anything God, you
- 30:47gotta change him. And the Lord says, you want me
- 30:51to change them and you say, yes, you want to change them now?
- 30:55Yes. Well, what about, you know,
- 30:59asking about me, because what happens in prayer, you present
- 31:02yourself to God, you're open and vulnerable before God.
- 31:05And guess what you find out? It's really not about your
- 31:08spouse as much as it about you. You wrestling in your singleness
- 31:12right now. You take the principles of the
- 31:15scriptures, you begin to apply them to yourself or make me
- 31:18content in this season of my life.
- 31:21Help me to live a life that pleases you, you know what my
- 31:24desire is. And you know what direction, I
- 31:26want to take my life, but that's where I'm at right now.
- 31:29I want to live pleasing you where I'm at right now.
- 31:33I mean we can do that in any area, right with where we work
- 31:36for unemployed, where we live got just make me the man, the
- 31:39woman you want me to be where I am right now.
- 31:43And here we see a beautiful picture.
- 31:46He's begging God to bless his wife.
- 31:49Please God. And what an often awesome
- 31:52privilege. We have to pray for our spouses
- 31:54to pray for one another. So many times, I'll be speaking
- 31:59primarily this happens with more with men and with women, and the
- 32:04ministry that God has called me to over the years.
- 32:06And I'm speaking with a husband that's complaining about his
- 32:08wife and complaining about this, and she's this, and she's that
- 32:13And we're reminded the scriptures.
- 32:14The Bible tells us that wives are the glory of their husbands.
- 32:20and you know, we don't use that kind of language anymore, but
- 32:23the best way to think of that is why he's being the glory of
- 32:26their husbands is that there are a reflection of their husbands
- 32:31And many times, my counsel will be to pray for them.
- 32:34I mean that's on repeat. Pray for your wife.
- 32:35Pray read the Bible and pray. Talk about the Bible study.
- 32:39When you leave talk about what God has been speaking to your
- 32:42heart. Don't let it just go away, don't
- 32:44let it be lost. Make sure that the your
- 32:48spiritual life is first that together, you're seeking first,
- 32:51the kingdom of God. And and then I also give this
- 32:54Council from time in times like, well, be the kind of spouse you
- 32:59want your wife to be, Pray that into your life, be the kind of
- 33:05spouse that you're desperate for her to be or for him to be live
- 33:09like that. You're the only one you control
- 33:11anyway. And so you want your spouse to
- 33:13be strong? In the Lord.
- 33:14You be strong in the Lord. You want your spouse to be
- 33:17encouraging. You be encouraging.
- 33:18But you know, how it is in an environment of discouragement,
- 33:21you know, you wake up and maybe there's some bickering or some
- 33:23arguing. What's your response little bit
- 33:26more bickering, a little bit more arguing?
- 33:29And can it be said of you can we write a scripture of you that?
- 33:32You and your difficult situation pleaded with the Lord for your
- 33:36spouse because God will bless that, take your spouse.
- 33:41Take your kids, take your situation to the throne room of
- 33:46God where you'll find Grace and help in your time of need.
- 33:50And here he is praying for for his wife.
- 33:53And look what God does. He gives him a gives her a
- 33:55double blessing. It says in verse 22.
- 34:00It says that at the end of verse 21, Rebecca can see, but the
- 34:03children struggled together within her.
- 34:06And you know what, this speaks to me.
- 34:07It was a difficult pregnancy. It wasn't easy, she's got a war
- 34:15going on in her womb and whatever that.
- 34:17You know, sticking the hand up under the rib cage and kicking
- 34:21and like it was a difficult pregnancy.
- 34:23It happens a lot of different ways today but they're
- 34:26struggling together. And she says, in verse 22 of all
- 34:29is well why I am this way? Why am I this way?
- 34:32And she went to inquire of the Lord and the Lord said to her
- 34:35two nations are in your womb to people shall be separated from
- 34:39your 81 people will be stronger than the other and the older
- 34:43Shall Serve the younger. And so, when our days were
- 34:46fulfilled for her to give birth, indeed, there were twins in her
- 34:51womb. So not only did.
- 34:52She can see she had twins. Rough pregnancy, so hard and so
- 34:57challenging. She went from one challenge to
- 34:59the next. She was challenged by being
- 35:02Barren and then when she conceived she's challenged by
- 35:05being pregnant, which tells me that the condition of your life,
- 35:09whatever the isshin of your life doesn't mean you're not going to
- 35:12struggle and suffer. Like today you come into, If I
- 35:16Only Had, I would be better perhaps in some ways you would,
- 35:20but, in other ways, it might be more difficult and it drives you
- 35:24to the Lord deeper relationship. And she says, if it's all well,
- 35:29why do I feel like this? And his answer was prophetic.
- 35:33It's a prophecy. God two nations are in your
- 35:36womb, not just two kids, but two Nations and one's going to be
- 35:40stronger than the other and the older will serve the younger.
- 35:47Now these verses the truth here, we can't just pass over without
- 35:52acknowledging. The tragedy of abortion in our
- 35:57country and in our world. God knew.
- 36:03Their personalities in the womb. Wasn't after they were born.
- 36:09Life begins at conception. The words are used here in
- 36:13Rebecca's life. And already God knew them and
- 36:17knew their future. He knew their personalities, he
- 36:22knew Esau, which is one of the kids.
- 36:24He knew his Tendencies. Knew Jacob was as conniver
- 36:27already. God, loves and cares and concern
- 36:29with unborn children. In the womb, the baby is a whole
- 36:35precious person. They were, you know, we see
- 36:37already that these babies in the womb were fighting one another
- 36:41in their own developed personalities.
- 36:44And it's, it's important for you to understand that abortion is a
- 36:48sin. And if you're considering
- 36:50abortion tonight, please don't do it.
- 36:54Ask for help. I know you're scared.
- 36:57Perhaps, I know. Maybe you're looking at your
- 36:59life and thinking all I think my life is ruined because of this
- 37:02pregnancy and you're kind of caught up in the cultures were
- 37:06culture wars over you, but I'm not saying this in culture War
- 37:09right now. I'm not trying to win a fight
- 37:11with the world. I'm trying to plead with you for
- 37:13the baby in your womb. I know it's scary and it has
- 37:20altered your life. You can undo that your pregnancy
- 37:24is already altered your life. No matter what decision you
- 37:28make. And so I just asked you knowing
- 37:30this goes out on the radio and really all over the country.
- 37:34Just please consider call the local Crisis, Pregnancy Center.
- 37:40Call your call. The church.
- 37:42Let us help you get connected with someone.
- 37:44There are other options. Before you make any decisions,
- 37:48go get an ultrasound. There's a, there's an
- 37:51organization that might be in your location called.
- 37:54Sate. Save.
- 37:57What is it? Save the storks right?
- 38:00Is that it is. Save the storks.
- 38:04Does that sound right? Okay good.
- 38:06Look them up in Google them. Even if they're not in your
- 38:09location, they can connect you with someone else that isn't
- 38:12your location but your life is already altered.
- 38:16Those opportunity for you to give birth to life.
- 38:18You might end up raising that child or in some cases like my
- 38:21life. I was adopted And another family
- 38:25took me into their lives and raised me as my birth mother
- 38:30decided to carry me to term. Haven't met her.
- 38:33Don't know if I ever will, but I am appreciative that she made
- 38:36that choice, and who knows how it's all going to sort out in
- 38:40the king. You know, it maybe she's a
- 38:41Believer and, and she's like, men, I made something out of
- 38:45that, punky gave birth to, you know, and God is good and so I'm
- 38:50not. I again, I want to be careful.
- 38:52I'm not speaking in the culture wars, not saying you're a bad
- 38:55person or like, you're a horrible person.
- 38:58That you're even thinking about it.
- 38:59When we were, when we were desperate Marie and I she was
- 39:02only 15. I was 17 and we were, I was so
- 39:06cheap and such a horrible person that I went through the Yellow
- 39:09Pages. If you guys remember that, if
- 39:11you don't Google Yellow Pages, it'll show you what it is.
- 39:16It'll probably say this is what Google used to be, and we'd open
- 39:19it up and there was an ad there and, you know, it's a free
- 39:22pregnancy test. I'm like, well, that's where I'm
- 39:24going if it's free. But it was actually an abortion
- 39:27clinic. I didn't know any better.
- 39:29It's like free was free to me. And then once we got there,
- 39:32there was all kinds of other other options.
- 39:35And fortunately, you know the choice was made in our lives as
- 39:39well to keep our son and raise him until he's 26.
- 39:42So it's really good. The other thing about it,
- 39:44Abortion without going on as if you have abortion in your
- 39:47background. I know it's hard to talk about
- 39:53and I know you've been pushing it away.
- 39:55Maybe stuffing it down. God, doesn't despise you because
- 39:59of that decision. And I know if you think rethink
- 40:03it and you've been thinking about it for a while that you
- 40:05may have made a different decision.
- 40:08And so you to ask for help, so God can begin to heal that part
- 40:11of your life. That he doesn't just throw you
- 40:14away. He just doesn't see you.
- 40:16As you know, what are the horrific decision you made?
- 40:19I don't want anything to do with you but rather God is attracted
- 40:23to that weakness in your life and they didn't tell you that in
- 40:25the clinic did they? They didn't tell you what we
- 40:27jack with your head, the rest of your life, they didn't tell you
- 40:30that it would be a give a cloud of guilt and shame the rest of
- 40:34your life. They didn't tell you about the
- 40:35dreams and the nightmare is you would have.
- 40:37They didn't tell you what God can heal you and he can cleanse
- 40:41you and he can help you. But don't mistake God's
- 40:47intention and what God has revealed to us.
- 40:50There those are babies in the womb without question.
- 40:56And we have a wonderful opportunity to step into
- 40:58people's life, to help them and to serve them, don't need to get
- 41:02involved in all the culture wars.
- 41:04Those are never ending. Jesus is Victorious over all the
- 41:09culture wars, the real power is when you connect with someone
- 41:13eye-to-eye and you serve them and you love them in Jesus name.
- 41:18Well, notice in verse 24 when her days were fulfilled for her
- 41:22to give birth. Indeed, there were twins in her
- 41:24womb and first came out red, he was like a hairy garment all
- 41:29over and so they called his name Harry that's what he saw means
- 41:34afterward. His brother came out and his
- 41:36hand. Took a whole to Esau's heel, so
- 41:38his name was Jacob, not wear. His name means supplanter, or
- 41:43sometimes you hear refer him referred to as he'll catch her
- 41:47and Isaac was 60 years old when she bore them.
- 41:51So the boys grew up, he saw was a skillful Hunter a man of the
- 41:54field. But Jacob was a mild man
- 41:57dwelling in the tents. Which again, tells me, they had
- 41:59two different personalities. God uses all our personalities,
- 42:04and we're here we have an example of men.
- 42:07They're not every man is like a manly manly men or whatever,
- 42:10like Esau was a hunter but you know, Jacob was more, he was
- 42:14mild, he had a different personality which just tells me,
- 42:17God, like your personality is just what God wants you to be.
- 42:21You don't have to be like anyone else and we learned not even in
- 42:24our creative conference. There's so many creatives like,
- 42:27oh, it's so wonderful to have them.
- 42:29But, you know, not everybody's creative, and that's okay.
- 42:32Because God has made you as you are.
- 42:34So here, they are in their personalities, Isaac.
- 42:36It says, As loved Esau verse 28, because he ate of his game but
- 42:41Rebecca loved Jacob. And so you can see the attached
- 42:45to their parents based on their personality and Jacob Cook the
- 42:48stew and Esau came in from the field.
- 42:51So now we have an episode. Some time has passed from birth.
- 42:54Of course, they've grown up. That's why are you reading the
- 42:57Bible? You like, what has happened
- 42:58years have taken place in that little Gap and so they could, he
- 43:03could Jacob Cooks us to Esau came in.
- 43:05He wasn't like a little baby. In diapers coming in, like, what
- 43:09are you doing? I went hunting dad, but he's a
- 43:11full-grown. They're fully grown now and Esau
- 43:14comes to Jacob. Please feed me that same red
- 43:18stew from weary. Therefore, his name was called
- 43:21Edom or another word for red. Jacob said, sell me your
- 43:25Birthright as it is of this day and he saw said, look, I'm about
- 43:29to die. So what profit shall this?
- 43:31Birthright be to me and Jacob said swear to me as of this day,
- 43:35so he swore to him, Sold his Birthright that Jacob, and Jacob
- 43:39gave Esau bread and stew of lentils, and he ate, and drank
- 43:43and arose, and went on his way. Thus, Esau despised his
- 43:47Birthright. So these you, these few verses
- 43:50represent a lot of years in these young men's lives Esau's,
- 43:54a hunter. Jacob has more close to his mom,
- 43:57probably around the house. Learning how to cook and verse
- 44:0028 is a warning to all of us. It highlights how often how
- 44:05homes often are divided. And that is by parents showing
- 44:10favoritism. Families are divided, kiddos are
- 44:15divided. Marriages are divided and you
- 44:18have to be very, very careful of this.
- 44:21Esau was a man's man and Outdoorsman a hunter, really a
- 44:25rough and rugged, Man. Jacob love to cook.
- 44:28Hang around the house with his mom.
- 44:30He wasn't as rough as he saw. But the characteristics he he
- 44:34had were just as valuable one commentator, put it this way and
- 44:37I quote, they became the personification of two different
- 44:40way. These two boys becomes the A
- 44:42personification of two different ways of life which would have
- 44:46been typical and the Palestinian that area.
- 44:50Palestine of this period one would be of a hunter and a
- 44:54nomad, Esau. And the other would be of a
- 44:57shepherd and a semi Nomad. Jacob.
- 45:00That's how the sub Vsauce described.
- 45:02A skillful Hunter, a man of the outdoors.
- 45:05Jacob on the other hand is portrayed, as a simple man.
- 45:08Or someone remaining in his tents, a man of a stable life in
- 45:11contrast to The ruthless life of a nomad and the family of
- 45:16Abraham involved. A lot of child favoritism.
- 45:18He got carried down over and over again.
- 45:21Isaac, he loves rough and rugged, he saw Rebecca loves,
- 45:24Jacob and parents, don't do that, it just messes.
- 45:28The kids up, value them all for, who they are.
- 45:31Don't compare them to one another and, you know, the, why
- 45:33do you don't get grades like you're, you know, you know, all
- 45:35the things that can be very easily, compare your kids, just
- 45:38love them as they are nurture them and how God made them.
- 45:42And And be careful. These two nations in Rebecca's
- 45:45womb, worry, Israel and Edom. The edomites, which are present
- 45:50day, Jordan, you'll be able to see that when we go to Israel,
- 45:54those of you coming with us, you'll be able to see Beyond the
- 45:56Sea of Galilee, the hills of Jordan right behind there.
- 46:00Edom, and edomites, you know, they fought against Israel for
- 46:03years. It's a matter of fact, when
- 46:05Moses takes the children of Israel through Edom and ask for
- 46:09safe, passage they attack them. So biblically and historically
- 46:13the last known Edomite was Herod the Great now.
- 46:16Its present-day Jordan and then he saw sells his Birthright in a
- 46:20momentary. A momentary lapse of his faith.
- 46:24What we would call today, he's in the flush, he's hungry.
- 46:27He doesn't care about spiritual things.
- 46:29So, he sells what is his for a bowl of Stew.
- 46:33He sells, what is his for a bowl of Stew.
- 46:35He's not interested in spiritual things in the moment, and, you
- 46:39know, things can change in a moment.
- 46:42The whole course of your life can change in a moment for the
- 46:45positive but also for the - he's not interested in feeding or
- 46:49nourishing, it nurturing his Spirit or the role that God, the
- 46:52god-given role that he has been handed down to him through his
- 46:56Birthright. and, As a the appetites of his flesh and he
- 47:04sells, what was his god-given right?
- 47:07And, you know, the Bible speaks of two types of people, the
- 47:09spiritual and the natural or the spiritual, and you might hear
- 47:14the word carnal the human. The natural man, or the carnal
- 47:18man lives, according to his own desires and we you use the
- 47:22phrase, you'll hear it. According to the appetites, the
- 47:25spiritual appetites what he wants.
- 47:27He wants it, he gets it. The woman that lives, according
- 47:30to the flesh whatever they want, they there's no restraint that
- 47:33just do whatever they want. Even though they know.
- 47:36It's not from God, they feed themselves.
- 47:39That's why the title of our studies, don't feed your flesh
- 47:41because it's never satisfied. Never satisfied.
- 47:47And the spiritual man. Although he lives in a natural
- 47:49body and has physical appetites keeps his spiritual life.
- 47:52As the primary focus. Esau was a carnal man.
- 47:57And this episode in his life, he sells his Birthright for some
- 48:00food. the Bertha light Birthright was the privilege was
- 48:06the god-given privilege of being the chief of the tribe or what
- 48:10we would say today, the head of the family It's given to the
- 48:14firstborn and it's no small thing and Isaac's family and
- 48:17entitled the bearer to all of the blessings of God's, all of
- 48:21the blessings of God's promises. And you know, sometimes we as
- 48:26Christians, we sell our rights, you've been given the birthright
- 48:28of being a son, or a daughter of the king, all of the benefits
- 48:33and Privileges and promises that are in.
- 48:35Jesus Christ are yes. And amen for you and for me and
- 48:38yet it, we watch it over and over again, believer selling
- 48:42their birth rights out for what For nothing.
- 48:46I think of how many lies have been wrecked by pornography.
- 48:49What have you got in return for that?
- 48:52I mean what have you gained? I see birthrights destroyed
- 48:58destroyed because of lying. Would you get out of that?
- 49:03What what was the? What was the bonus?
- 49:07Drugs and alcohol, and people that said, they were your
- 49:10friends, what did you get out of that because you were hungry in
- 49:14the moment. And we need to learn that
- 49:17there's no negotiation. This has been a theme.
- 49:19I in our church last few weeks and all this Studies have been
- 49:21woven together. There's no negotiation with the
- 49:24flush like like we learn with with the amalekites that
- 49:27attacked in Exodus 17. We recently, you got to wipe
- 49:31them out, there's no peace treaty with the flush.
- 49:34There's no signing a, I'll give you this much in my life.
- 49:37The Bible says, in Romans here to reckon the old man dead.
- 49:41Make no provision for the Flesh and you can just pray through
- 49:46that walk in the spirit as Galatians says, and you won't
- 49:49fulfill the desires of the Flesh.
- 49:51And that's what we leave off in this chapter and you can read
- 49:54ahead because we will see in chapter 26, some sin in Isaac's
- 49:58life that looks a lot like his dad because that's where he
- 50:01picked it up from. So father, I pray as we learn in
- 50:04this Bible study God. And just thinking God, we just
- 50:08thinking of the weight that comes when we talk about hard
- 50:11things, Like abortion or like forgiveness reconciliation or
- 50:17divorce or polygamy? I mean, these are hard things.
- 50:24And we need help. And how to communicate?
- 50:31Your heart in a world that so need desperately needs, you
- 50:35Lord. And would you just forgive us or
- 50:37help us? I don't know, quite what we
- 50:39need. God to maybe, we just plead with
- 50:41you that we don't want to get involved in the court culture
- 50:43wars. Like we don't want to be the
- 50:46activists and the ones that are screaming and yelling that never
- 50:50really make any progress. God, we want to be down where
- 50:54you are. The, you mean, you were, you
- 50:55stoop so low that you were writing in the dirt?
- 50:58We want to be down in the place of service.
- 51:02And help. And compassion.
- 51:07And truth. But God would you teach us how
- 51:10to deliver truth in a way that would be received by those that
- 51:14are close in our lives? Would you give us the language?
- 51:18Would you give us like Insight on how to deliver it?
- 51:23and I just think of That woman tonight maybe even feeling
- 51:28pressure from her boyfriend, to get an abortion, God, that you
- 51:31would just give her the courage and protect her from any kind of
- 51:35abuse or any kind of fear. She might be having right now,
- 51:40and just give her the confidence in the courage.
- 51:42Maybe she even feels all alone. I pray for that fear. maybe it's
- 51:50all couch with confidence and courage and she's a strong woman
- 51:54or a strong teenager and just kind of Hiding that broken.
- 51:59Little girl Under the Sea Under the surface.
- 52:04God, we don't we don't know how you would use us, but we want to
- 52:10take note of How God I pray for the marriages that are broken.
- 52:16The maybe the husband tonight, they go, you don't have him and
- 52:19pleading for my wife. or the wife is I haven't been pleading
- 52:23or you know, Wife that her husband bailed on her, just
- 52:28abandon her. The kids that are caught in the
- 52:31middle or just so much Brokenness in this chapter and
- 52:35I'm reminded that God there's wholeness and healing in you.
- 52:40even if we haven't fully realized that we haven't fully
- 52:42felt it yet, The through the Forgiveness of sins.
- 52:47The Healing Begins, and I just want to invite you today.
- 52:50If you're here and you've never given your life to Jesus Christ.
- 52:53When I invite you to do that, that's where the Healing Begins.
- 52:56It doesn't begin in a Bible study and it doesn't begin with
- 52:59being in a church. And it doesn't begin with buying
- 53:02a Bible and it doesn't begin with having a Christian friend.
- 53:05It doesn't begin. And all of the things that we
- 53:08think it does, the beginning of healing starts when you confess
- 53:11your sins and you receive the forgiveness.
- 53:13Forgiveness that God has for you and I want to invite you if
- 53:17you're here today and you've never accepted Jesus as your
- 53:20savior and you'd like to do that, would you just stand to
- 53:22your feet? I want to pray with you.
- 53:24I want to pray for you. I want to help you turn away,
- 53:29turn your life away from your sinful past.
- 53:34It was on a Wednesday night when I responded to this same
- 53:36invitation. Just sharing my testimony
- 53:40yesterday with someone that never heard didn't know anything
- 53:43about me or sharing it and I'm like, man made me cry thinking
- 53:46of it. Well good God is how he's been
- 53:51pursuing you all this time. You don't even have to be in the
- 53:55room, you know. God, sees you wherever you are,
- 53:58you don't have to stand either. It's like standing doesn't
- 54:01doesn't do anything, but what it does.
- 54:02Is it marks a time? It's kind of, like a A picture.
- 54:09Where you can remember. Even mentally and verbally
- 54:14visually. Like I remember the day, I gave
- 54:16my life to Christ, not going to live for myself anymore.
- 54:20It's about that guy that sold his life for a bowl of Stew.
- 54:24I don't want to do that with my life.
- 54:27One of the for something greater So you can ask God to forgive,
- 54:31you could say, God forgive me of my sins because he have to ask.
- 54:35Like the Bible says you have to confess with your mouth, the
- 54:37Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart, that God raised him from
- 54:40the dead. So you can tell God, would you
- 54:43forgive me? God for my sins.
- 54:46I believe you sent Jesus to live for me and die for me.
- 54:52And I believe he rose again from the dead to save my soul.
- 54:59God hears you when you pray and you can come up and we'll
- 55:02explain things, we have Little Packet to give you because, you
- 55:05know, what do I do next? Well, there's a lot of life to
- 55:08be lived. Next, that's what you need to
- 55:10bring your marriage, to the altar.
- 55:11Come up and pray with someone need to bring your singleness.
- 55:15You need to bring your dad, your mom, to the altar.
- 55:17Let us pray for you and stand with you and believe.
- 55:20God, you don't believe God, right now.
- 55:21Let us that have some faith. That were not going through his
- 55:24stuff as bad as you are. Let us have some Faith with you
- 55:27and believe for you. You can leave encouraged because
- 55:31we all go through Seasons like that.
- 55:34And let the Lord use you mightily in these last days, the
- 55:38days in which we live. So that no matter what our age
- 55:41is, you know, we live to a good old H.
- 55:44So could be so faithful to us. He loves you so much guy.
- 55:49Like me can't even describe how much God loves you.
- 55:53You just got to feel it and experience it.
- 55:55Then you'll know it and it will change you forever.
- 56:00We pray that you've been encouraged by this Bible.
