Where we live here on the Hill in southern Tennessee, we get a good bit of fog from time to time.

There is something interesting about standing on this hill when the fog begins to roll in.

One moment you can see the peaks and valleys clearly. You can see the trees climbing the mountainside, the ridges stretching across the horizon, and maybe even snow resting on the highest places during the winter.

Then the fog comes.

Within minutes, everything that seemed so clear can suddenly disappear.

But here is what we know to be true.

The mountains are still there.
