- 0:03Speaker 1: Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory, but
- 0:08Speaker 1: in lowliness of mind, let each esteem other better than themselves.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Philippians 2.3 Dear Lord, You do not flaunt Your divinity
- 0:22Speaker 1: or exploit us for selfish gain. You humbly served your
- 0:27Speaker 1: people even to the point of death on a cross.
- 0:31Speaker 1: What a mysterious and wonderful truth that is. We have
- 0:37Speaker 1: a God that bends down humbly to bless us and
- 0:41Speaker 1: laid down his own life to redeem us. I pray
- 0:45Speaker 1: that you would give me the mind of Christ. I
- 0:49Speaker 1: do not want to operate for my own glory and self-gratification.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I want to humbly serve those around me and glorify you,
- 1:01Speaker 1: O Lord.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Teach me every day.
- 1:04Speaker 1: How to emulate your lowliness and give me opportunities to
- 1:10Speaker 1: exercise humility. In Jesus' name, amen.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Thank you for joining me in prayer. Stay tuned for
- 1:22Speaker 2: today's free podcast, Meditative Prayers with Dr. Tim Clinton, where
- 1:27Speaker 2: you can draw close to God and find strength in Him.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Welcome to your meditative prayer on healing relationships. To get
- 1:40Speaker 3: the most out of your spiritual journey, use Pray.com every
- 1:43Speaker 3: day and make prayer a priority in your life. Our
- 1:48Speaker 3: goal for today's meditative prayer is healing relationships. I hope
- 1:54Speaker 3: you'll hit pause for a second. Find a safe, secluded
- 1:59Speaker 3: place where you can comfortably settle down. Close your eyes.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Breathe in and breathe out. And as you exhale, imagine
- 2:16Speaker 3: the tension leaving your body. Along with that breath, now
- 2:22Speaker 3: take every thought captive and bring your focus to the
- 2:27Speaker 3: Word of God. Again, today we'll be meditating on Philippians
- 2:31Speaker 3: 2 verse 3 from the King James Version. It says,
- 2:37Speaker 3: Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in
- 2:41Speaker 3: lowliness of mind. Let each esteem the other better than themselves.
- 2:51Speaker 3: As we get started, take a moment to pour out
- 2:53Speaker 3: your adoration to God, who is our perfect example. Jesus,
- 3:00Speaker 3: I thank you. For even though you are God, you
- 3:06Speaker 3: did not think of equality with God as something to
- 3:09Speaker 3: cling to. Instead, Paul said that in humility, you chose
- 3:16Speaker 3: the cross and you died on our behalf. You're the
- 3:22Speaker 3: beginning and the end, the alpha and the omega, the
- 3:25Speaker 3: first and the last, the author and finisher of our faith.
- 3:34Speaker 3: To think of others as better than yourselves can at
- 3:37Speaker 3: times seem difficult, maybe even annoying. You are, after all,
- 3:46Speaker 3: only human, susceptible to acting out in anger, maybe being
- 3:52Speaker 3: a little belligerent, when you are backed into a corner,
- 3:59Speaker 3: when you've been hurt. Nevertheless, you're called to be the
- 4:05Speaker 3: better person. The standard set before you is high. But
- 4:13Speaker 3: we must rise to the occasion. And while failure is
- 4:19Speaker 3: often expected, It is not to be embraced. Stop for
- 4:24Speaker 3: a second and allow God to speak to you concerning
- 4:27Speaker 3: those failures. Confess to Jesus those times you missed the mark.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Those times where the pain was too much and the
- 4:40Speaker 3: hurt was too great. Hand those failures over to Jesus.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Cast your cares aside. God take them now take a
- 4:56Speaker 3: few minutes to dwell on the goodness of God towards
- 4:59Speaker 3: your life start by thanking him because he is faithful
- 5:07Speaker 3: even when we're not thank the Holy Spirit for helping
- 5:13Speaker 3: and enabling you to accomplish this incredible difficult task Think
- 5:23Speaker 3: of those past relationships you managed to save and salvage
- 5:27Speaker 3: by giving others the benefit of the doubt. Thank God
- 5:33Speaker 3: for those past reconciliations and future ones to come. Thank
- 5:37Speaker 3: God for His strength, that in His strength you will
- 5:41Speaker 3: no longer react in anger or pride. You will instead
- 5:47Speaker 3: be that better person. You will consider others above yourself.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Thank God because in His love and through His grace,
- 5:57Speaker 3: you can do all things. I want you to know
- 6:03Speaker 3: that God is present and that He's listening to you.
- 6:07Speaker 3: The Bible says, ask and it shall be given to you.
- 6:12Speaker 3: So ask the Holy Spirit to help you to be humble,
- 6:16Speaker 3: to treat others with the utmost respect and kindness. to
- 6:21Speaker 3: put others first even when it's not merited even when
- 6:26Speaker 3: things are done to hurt or hinder you you can
- 6:30Speaker 3: choose to rise above and be the better person as
- 6:34Speaker 3: challenging as that may seem God has and will provide
- 6:39Speaker 3: a way remember God has called you to treat others
- 6:46Speaker 3: with level-headed calmness and humility to not do things out
- 6:50Speaker 3: of anger or pride to think better of others, and
- 6:54Speaker 3: to be better yourself. You must be vigilant to not
- 6:58Speaker 3: allow personal achievements or accomplishments to inflate your sense of self-superiority. Instead,
- 7:03Speaker 3: allow God to use you to be the good you
- 7:09Speaker 3: want to see in the world. Thank you for completing
