- 00:00:07:06 - 00:00:09:16 MAK Hey everybody, it's MAK, and I'm Courtney. 00:00:09:16 - 00:00:11:11 Courtney Welcome back to 2MC 00:00:11:13 - 00:00:19:03 MAK We are here today. We've got a bunch of stuff to talk about. We had a board meeting. We've got events. So let's get after it. 00:00:19:06 - 00:00:33:02 Courtney All right, let's go. So last week we had a board meeting, and we wanted to kind of go over some of the things. So out of that board meeting, I know that the board requested an agenda item on e-bikes and e-scooters. 00:00:33:09 - 00:00:35:03 MAK Yes. They're all over the place. 00:00:35:03 - 00:00:39:26 Courtney They are? Yes. And I know the sheriff's office has been having a lot of outreach about them as well. 00:00:39:27 - 00:00:42:21 MAK They have. I've seen the big signs everywhere. You probably. 00:00:42:23 - 00:00:43:11 Courtney Yes. 00:00:43:13 - 00:00:44:04 MAK 00:00:44:07 - 00:00:44:28 Courtney And then look. 00:00:44:28 - 00:00:46:04 MAK For that to come up soon. 00:00:46:07 - 00:00:57:11 Courtney Yes. And then they also asked staff to put together a explanation of the P3 process and just why it was selected for the Martin County operations facility. Yeah. So that'll be. 00:00:57:11 - 00:01:04:07 MAK Coming up like three hearings. We've talked a lot about it. A lot yet, but this will be a good kind of wrap up to it. 00:01:04:11 - 00:01:06:15 Courtney Yes. So stay tuned for that. 00:01:06:18 - 00:01:16:14 MAK Yeah. We had a donation of 14 parcels. And it was nearly eight acres in Hope Sand and Jensen Beach. And that's all for our land acquisition program. 00:01:16:20 - 00:01:28:24 Courtney Yes, it is super exciting. Yes. And the board also adopted an ordinance amending the Martin County Code regarding vets and reporting on pet microchips and their disaster plans. 00:01:28:26 - 00:01:29:27 MAK That was fascinating. 00:01:30:04 - 00:01:32:29 Courtney Fascinating I say. 00:01:33:01 - 00:01:43:02 MAK They had another ordinance that they adopted to allow to allow code enforcement to notify property owners about nuisances that are described in that certain section of the code. 00:01:43:04 - 00:01:43:15 Courtney 00:01:43:16 - 00:01:44:14 MAK So that's always good. 00:01:44:16 - 00:01:58:15 Courtney Also another one adopted an ordinance amending MCC code, establishing procedures for the review and approval of reasonable accommodation requests for certified recovery residents. And yes, I know exactly what that means. 00:01:58:21 - 00:02:04:12 MAK So I think that was cute. They amended the MCC code. Did you think that was a thing? That's the Martin County code. 00:02:04:13 - 00:02:05:02 Courtney Yes. Yeah. 00:02:05:03 - 00:02:09:09 MAK Okay. I thought you just thought NC code was like its real name. 00:02:09:11 - 00:02:15:12 Courtney No. Martin County. Okay. But our MCC code like two MCC. 00:02:15:14 - 00:02:30:13 MAK No, that was super messy. They did have an item that they continued. And that was for, a storage facility in Hobe Sound. And that should be coming up at the May 19th. 00:02:30:16 - 00:02:31:22 Courtney Which is our next board meeting. 00:02:31:23 - 00:02:32:09 MAK Yes it is. 00:02:32:10 - 00:02:37:28 Courtney Yes. And then we usually have this happen at most of our meetings. We. 00:02:37:28 - 00:02:40:05 MAK Do have it happen at all of them. Yes. 00:02:40:07 - 00:02:51:28 Courtney Office of Management and Budget. They always come down and go over the grants that staff is applying for, which is help helps leverage tax dollars. Yeah. Yes. 00:02:52:00 - 00:02:54:17 MAK So that happened? Yeah. Okay. Good. 00:02:54:19 - 00:02:56:17 Courtney Every board meeting. 00:02:56:20 - 00:03:16:28 MAK Thank you. Office of Tourism and Marketing was there, and they were, talking about their their programs that they have, their environmental programs. It was in honor or support of national, Travel and Tourism Week specifically. They talked about the Explore Natural Martin programs. Yes. 00:03:17:00 - 00:03:25:02 Courtney And then the board authorized for a MoU which please tell us what that is. 00:03:25:05 - 00:03:28:04 MAK That's a memorandum of understanding. Perfect. 00:03:28:06 - 00:03:37:05 Courtney And that's between the Florida Division of Parks and Rec and Martin County for the Cypress Creek Floodplain project, which is to construct a weir. 00:03:37:07 - 00:03:38:23 MAK What's a we're going to tell us? 00:03:38:28 - 00:03:44:08 Courtney It's where the water is allowed to come in and they can close it. They need to. 00:03:44:08 - 00:03:45:08 MAK It's cool. It's like a little. 00:03:45:08 - 00:03:47:00 Courtney Open air if they need to. 00:03:47:02 - 00:03:53:04 MAK Yes. Like a gate. Yeah. Okay. A weir structure? Yes. Okay. 00:03:53:06 - 00:03:57:24 Courtney And that's for the Cypress Creek floodplain restoration project that Jonathan Dickinson State Park. 00:03:58:01 - 00:04:00:04 MAK It's a we are not weird. 00:04:00:07 - 00:04:01:07 Courtney So weird. Weird? 00:04:01:09 - 00:04:03:28 MAK Yeah. 00:04:04:00 - 00:04:05:05 Courtney In case you didn't know. 00:04:05:05 - 00:04:05:12 MAK I. 00:04:05:12 - 00:04:06:25 Courtney Do. So you want to tell us some more about one or both of those? 00:07:40:06 - 00:08:04:13 Courtney Yes. Okay, so the summer camp is part of the Children's Services Council, Martin County. They offer free camps at three different locations, ages five and older. It's open for youth that live in Martin County and that are enrolled in Martin County elementary or middle school. And I believe that summer dates are June 1st of July 31st. 00:08:04:15 - 00:08:11:24 MAK Right. And then they also have free teen camps, right? Is that true? Did I just lie? And so we can drop all that information. The show notes how you can be eligible and all that. 00:08:47:01 - 00:08:57:29 MAK Yeah. Really important. Get those swimming lessons. Yes. Historic preservation month. Did you look at me because I'm old? I was not aware of this. 00:10:02:10 - 00:10:12:10 Courtney So this is family archeological event at the Hobe Sound Public Library. And, to be fair, I'm not sure that they would. Well, first of all, survive you. 00:12:57:06 - 00:12:57:22 Courtney That's true. 00:12:57:23 - 00:13:07:03 MAK Second of all, I'm not sure they are the appropriate zone for us. I know all about those. 00:13:45:25 - 00:13:48:10 MAK You had some bad bugs. 00:13:48:12 - 00:13:56:00 Courtney Well, I will say they are good bugs because they eat other bugs. Yes, but bad for me. 00:13:56:03 - 00:14:00:02 MAK Yes, I think that's fair. Yeah, but I think the spiders get a bad rap. 00:14:00:05 - 00:14:01:14 Courtney They do?
