- 0:09Speaker 1: Hey, everybody.
- 0:10Speaker 2: We are back with this week five preview on this
- 0:14Speaker 2: edition of Birds Weekly. It is powered by the Inside
- 0:17Speaker 2: the Birds Network. For Barrett Brooks, I'm Derek Gunn. And,
- 0:20Speaker 2: of course, the Jacksonville Jaguars in London await the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 0:24Speaker 1: And what a week this has been.
- 0:27Speaker 2: It goes from a week of trying to figure out
- 0:29Speaker 2: what's wrong with this team to now a week.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Of trying to figure out who's playing and who's not.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Earlier in the week, Lane Johnson abruptly retires. And then
- 0:40Speaker 2: all of a sudden the next day, the center-slash-left guard
- 0:44Speaker 2: Cam Juergens is.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Traded to Baltimore. All right, Lane. Let's start with Lane.
- 0:50Speaker 2: How surprised are you that he called it a career
- 0:54Speaker 2: after four games? And you and I had talked earlier
- 0:56Speaker 2: in the week about the prospects of him maybe needing
- 0:59Speaker 2: to sit down and get away from the game to
- 1:01Speaker 2: get himself together physically, mentally, spiritually. Were you as shocked
- 1:06Speaker 2: as I was when he decided to say adios?
- 1:10Speaker 3: I was.
- 1:10Speaker 4: I was shocked simply because I just thought, you know,
- 1:13Speaker 4: he had made the– he had made a promise to
- 1:18Speaker 4: the team that he's going to go ahead and play.
- 1:20Speaker 3: And then once he hit a point where.
- 1:23Speaker 4: He felt as though he had to take a break,
- 1:26Speaker 4: you know, I got it then because I was able
- 1:28Speaker 4: to internalize and think about it. Yeah, I understand that because,
- 1:31Speaker 4: I mean, he's dealing with, you know, some mental health
- 1:34Speaker 4: stuff that, you know, a lot of people are experiencing,
- 1:39Speaker 4: especially men, and we don't take care of it.
- 1:41Speaker 3: We don't allow ourselves to.
- 1:45Speaker 4: To uh to heal from it and he was at
- 1:47Speaker 4: a point where he just couldn't um go forward with
- 1:51Speaker 4: it and i mean i think it would have been
- 1:53Speaker 4: a detriment for him to go forward with him and
- 1:56Speaker 4: it's not just him he's making the decision for he's
- 1:58Speaker 4: also making a decision you know to his family and
- 2:00Speaker 4: that's great that you know he got involved his family
- 2:03Speaker 4: his parents you know he said they're at a point
- 2:05Speaker 4: where they need more attention so i mean i i
- 2:08Speaker 4: totally understand it and i i take my hat off
- 2:11Speaker 4: to him for being strong enough to do it. Because
- 2:13Speaker 4: I'm going to tell you the truth. I don't think
- 2:15Speaker 4: I'm necessarily strong enough to do that and make that
- 2:17Speaker 4: type of decision and go forward with it.
- 2:20Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 2:21Speaker 4: Everybody has, you know, things that they're dealing with in life.
- 2:25Speaker 4: And some people handle things differently. But we're talking about
- 2:28Speaker 4: something that's, you know, a clinical diagnosis that he's going through. And,
- 2:33Speaker 4: you know, at the end of the day, if I
- 2:35Speaker 4: was going to talk to young players... they may be
- 2:38Speaker 4: going through the same thing. I said, number one, if
- 2:40Speaker 4: you're feeling a certain way that's something you can't handle
- 2:43Speaker 4: or you feel.
- 2:43Speaker 3: As though you're getting overwhelmed with it, seek help.
- 2:47Speaker 4: You know, get it defined because once you define something,
- 2:51Speaker 4: now you can work to try to help yourself in
- 2:54Speaker 4: fixing it or at least being able to deal with it.
- 2:57Speaker 3: If you don't know what it is, if you don't
- 3:00Speaker 3: know how to define it.
- 3:00Speaker 4: If you can't say exactly what you're working against, then
- 3:04Speaker 4: how are you supposed to, as a man, go forward
- 3:07Speaker 4: with it, be healthy in it, you know, you'll stay sick.
- 3:10Speaker 4: You got to make sure you get the help you
- 3:12Speaker 4: need and, and, and to help you function, you know?
- 3:15Speaker 3: So I, I said, I applaud him. I applaud him.
- 3:18Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
- 3:18Speaker 4: So I tell a lot of people, no, Hey, put
- 3:20Speaker 4: a definition on it. That way you can fight it,
- 3:22Speaker 4: you know? And, and that's what I'll tell young players
- 3:25Speaker 4: if they're going forward.
- 3:27Speaker 2: You know, dealing with depression and anxiety is a heavy
- 3:31Speaker 2: burden to bear. I have, friends who deal with it.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I have a relative close to me who deals with it. And,
- 3:38Speaker 2: you know, all of a sudden they're happy one minute
- 3:40Speaker 2: and the next minute they go dark. I mean, they
- 3:43Speaker 2: get real quiet. They become recluse. They don't want to
- 3:47Speaker 2: deal with family or society or anybody for that matter.
- 3:50Speaker 2: And they get emotional as well. And I'm sure Lane,
- 3:53Speaker 2: as I've talked to him many, many times about it,
- 3:56Speaker 2: he has, he has written that proverbial rollercoaster of all
- 3:59Speaker 2: the things that I just mentioned. And then some, And now,
- 4:02Speaker 2: you know, from what we are told, his mother's dealing
- 4:04Speaker 2: with cancer. His father's very ill. Neither one is doing
- 4:08Speaker 2: very well. And then the aspect of being a professional athlete,
- 4:12Speaker 2: and not just a professional athlete, but he has been
- 4:15Speaker 2: billed as one of the greatest offensive linemen or greatest
- 4:18Speaker 2: right tackle of our time. That's a lot of weight
- 4:23Speaker 2: to carry on one shoulder. And there's a breaking point.
- 4:26Speaker 2: And I hate to say it, but there have been
- 4:28Speaker 2: many cases where people who have not dealt with this
- 4:31Speaker 2: situation adequately and properly, it has led to suicide in
- 4:36Speaker 2: a lot of ways.
- 4:37Speaker 1: So, you know, some people out there.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Have said, you know, there have been some very unkind,
- 4:41Speaker 2: you know, statements made about Lane Johnson out there. You know, people,
- 4:46Speaker 2: some people out there, man, are just, to me, just
- 4:48Speaker 2: sick with some of the things they say about people
- 4:50Speaker 2: in adverse situations. But in this case, I don't blame
- 4:56Speaker 2: him for walking away. He understands everything. that he's leaving
- 4:59Speaker 2: his team hanging, but it's not about money. He's got that.
- 5:03Speaker 2: It's not about rings. He's got two of those. It's
- 5:06Speaker 2: not about fame. He's got that. It's not about hall
- 5:09Speaker 2: of fame status because he will be a hall of
- 5:10Speaker 2: famer one day. Right now he needs to focus on
- 5:13Speaker 2: taking care of himself first and foremost and his family
- 5:17Speaker 2: and nothing else matters.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Absolutely. Absolutely.
- 5:22Speaker 4: That's first and foremost, because if he can't take care
- 5:24Speaker 4: of himself, How is he supposed to take care of
- 5:27Speaker 4: his family?
- 5:27Speaker 3: How is he supposed to take care of the guys
- 5:29Speaker 3: on the field?
- 5:30Speaker 4: How is he supposed to execute on the field if
- 5:33Speaker 4: he hasn't taken care of him and how he approaches things?
- 5:36Speaker 3: So, I mean, I totally understand it, man. I get it.
- 5:39Speaker 3: I get it.
- 5:40Speaker 4: And I'm so glad that he's in a position to
- 5:44Speaker 4: do this. I am so glad he is.

- 7:32Speaker 2: Well, I know I speak for you when I say
- 7:35Speaker 2: Lane Johnson, we love you, we're praying for you, and
- 7:39Speaker 2: we wish nothing but the best for you, and we're
- 7:42Speaker 2: glad that you decided to take care of you first,
- 7:45Speaker 2: and don't worry about playing the game of football because
- 7:47Speaker 2: it is a game and it doesn't last forever. All right,
- 7:50Speaker 2: Cam Juergens. How shocked were you that they decided to
- 7:53Speaker 2: trade him? Obviously they were not happy with this play.
- 7:57Speaker 2: It's decided to move on from him. Were you, were
- 7:59Speaker 2: you shocked about that as well?
- 8:02Speaker 4: Even though they weren't, you know, satisfied with his play
- 8:05Speaker 4: and I haven't been really, you know, been in a
- 8:09Speaker 4: position where I can say really good things about his play,
- 8:12Speaker 4: even when he was a center. But, you know, we're
- 8:14Speaker 4: still talking about a guy as a, you know, two-time
- 8:17Speaker 4: pro bowler, you know, and, He didn't play well. He
- 8:21Speaker 4: was at the center position or the guard position. And
- 8:25Speaker 4: I just got to take my hat off to Howie.
- 8:26Speaker 4: How was he able to get a second-round draft pick?
- 8:30Speaker 1: For a guy with a back issue.
- 8:32Speaker 3: I mean, and health is the issue.
- 8:34Speaker 4: And I think that's– I know that's exactly why he
- 8:37Speaker 4: hasn't been playing well. It's got to be health. Because
- 8:40Speaker 4: you can see he's not doing the same things he
- 8:41Speaker 4: could do. We stopped running the tush push last year
- 8:44Speaker 4: because of his health. He just hasn't been able to
- 8:47Speaker 4: do it. And then when you got to go.
- 8:48Speaker 3: To South America to get work done on you down there.
- 8:53Speaker 1: You.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Get a transplant down there. Things are not on an
- 9:01Speaker 4: upwards power for him. In fact, I would say it's
- 9:03Speaker 4: going to decline as of right now. And for Howie
- 9:06Speaker 4: Roseman to get him a second round draft pick and
- 9:11Speaker 4: a fifth rounder this year and a second.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Rounder In 28, I just thought, you know, Howie just
- 9:18Speaker 3: did a great deal of, you know, making it happen.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Now I understand why the Ravens did it because they
- 9:25Speaker 4: feel as though they got only a couple more years
- 9:27Speaker 4: with the talented back and the talented quarterback that they have.
- 9:30Speaker 4: They got to maximize every opportunity they can get to
- 9:33Speaker 4: make sure that they can compete for a Super Bowl.
- 9:36Speaker 4: So you got to bring in someone. They were on
- 9:38Speaker 4: their– actually, they went through three centers. Three centers were on,
- 9:42Speaker 4: you know, couldn't play for the last week. Three centers?
- 9:45Speaker 3: And they had moved their all-world guard.
- 9:48Speaker 4: They got in the first round this year, Iona, moved
- 9:51Speaker 4: him to center, and he played feasible as center.
- 9:54Speaker 3: So, I mean, he played well enough, and he only played.
- 9:57Speaker 4: Like 15 snaps his whole college career, but he played
- 10:00Speaker 4: well enough to at least get him to a win.
- 10:02Speaker 4: But I just think that, you know what, yeah, I mean,
- 10:04Speaker 4: they did a fantastic job of getting what they needed.
- 10:08Speaker 3: A guy that's played at a Pro Bowl level before.
- 10:11Speaker 4: And they feel as though they can at least squeeze
- 10:14Speaker 4: out a couple more.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Years out of him. You know what I'm saying?
- 10:17Speaker 4: But how is he able to get his numbers off
- 10:19Speaker 4: the book? Next year, he'll still play a little bit
- 10:22Speaker 4: for him next year.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Yeah. But then after that, you know, I mean, they needed.
- 10:26Speaker 4: That money because they got to play some youngsters on
- 10:27Speaker 4: the defensive side of the ball anyways. So, I mean,
- 10:30Speaker 4: Howard did a great job taking his numbers off the
- 10:31Speaker 4: book and making sure that they got some draft.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Capital for him with the second rounder. That's amazing.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Now, when Jalen Hurst steps to the line of scrimmage
- 10:43Speaker 2: on Sunday in London to face Jacksonville's defense– He will
- 10:47Speaker 2: have a 6'9 behemoth rookie at right tackle. He will
- 10:52Speaker 2: have Tyler Steen, who sucks, at right guard. He will
- 10:56Speaker 2: have Drew Kendall at center. He's been playing well. Yeah,
- 11:01Speaker 2: he's been playing well the last few weeks.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yes, he has.
- 11:03Speaker 2: But then he'll have the runt of the litter, 5'11,
- 11:06Speaker 2: 300-pound Willie Lampkin as his left guard and a pro
- 11:11Speaker 2: bowler at left tackle. And if I'm Jalen, when I
- 11:14Speaker 2: step to the line of scrims.
- 11:15Speaker 3: I'm going– Hey, what's your name?
- 11:19Speaker 1: Oh, shoot. This ain't going to be pretty.
- 11:21Speaker 3: No, Willie.
- 11:24Speaker 1: This ain't going to be pretty. No, you know what?
- 11:28Speaker 1: We shouldn't laugh, though.
- 11:30Speaker 3: But I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what.
- 11:32Speaker 4: What you are going to get out of Willie Lampkin,
- 11:36Speaker 4: and it's going to be kind of infectious for Drew Kendall,
- 11:40Speaker 4: I really think.
- 11:40Speaker 3: You and your guys are going to go balls out.
- 11:43Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know if I can say that,
- 11:45Speaker 3: but I'm saying it anyway.
- 11:46Speaker 1: You already said it. Yeah.
- 11:48Speaker 3: They're going to go all out, man. They're going to
- 11:50Speaker 3: play their butts off.
- 11:52Speaker 4: And I don't know if their best is good enough,
- 11:55Speaker 4: but they're going to give it their all. Willie Lavin
- 11:57Speaker 4: will finish every single play. They're going to go to
- 11:59Speaker 4: the whistle. They just need to teach their starting right tackle,
- 12:02Speaker 4: rookie Markel Bell, to go to the whistle. Too many
- 12:06Speaker 4: times he was spectating in the game. Bro, all right,
- 12:10Speaker 4: you're going to have to play good. The first two
- 12:12Speaker 4: say you play great. But then you want to spectate. Well,
- 12:14Speaker 4: you're going to have to come spectate and sit next
- 12:16Speaker 4: to me in the office. You can come sit right
- 12:17Speaker 4: here in my chair. I'll pull a chair up here
- 12:20Speaker 4: right here. You know what I'm saying? If you don't
- 12:22Speaker 4: know how to finish, do the whistle. So, I mean,
- 12:26Speaker 4: he's got to get it going. But I told you
- 12:28Speaker 4: the first two seconds, he's playing great.
- 12:32Speaker 3: But after that, he's got to learn how to finish. So, Jalen, Jalen.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I'm sorry, Jalen.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Sprinkle some holy water on him.
- 12:42Speaker 4: I mean, they got to do something, man. And they
- 12:45Speaker 4: got to at least run the ball effectively, you know,
- 12:47Speaker 4: to help him out.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Who's running the ball? Who's running? They brought Damian Pierce up.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Yes, they did.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Former Titans running back. Not Titans, but Texans running back.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Texans, yes.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Yeah, Texans running back. And then they got the back
- 13:05Speaker 3: of Clemson, Shipley. They got Shipley. So they're running the
- 13:08Speaker 3: ball with Shipley. I'm trying, man. I'm trying.
- 13:12Speaker 4: I got to go through the Rolodex, you know what
- 13:14Speaker 4: I'm saying, to see what we got on the roster, man,
- 13:15Speaker 4: because a lot of guys ain't on the roster right now. But, yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 4: Shipley was up on the roster. They elevated from the
- 13:21Speaker 4: practice squad Damian Pierce.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Yep.
- 13:23Speaker 4: Because I know Saquon's not. I mean, Saquon's at a point.
- 13:26Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know if he's going to play
- 13:28Speaker 4: for a while, man. I mean, the way it looked,
- 13:30Speaker 4: it looked really serious, really serious, man. I hope he
- 13:32Speaker 4: doesn't need, you know, to get operated on or anything
- 13:36Speaker 4: like that cut for it. But, you know, it's a
- 13:38Speaker 4: serious injury, so … I mean, they're the walking wounded
- 13:41Speaker 4: right now. We've been really healthy, you know, past years.
- 13:46Speaker 4: But this year, it's the walking wounded, man.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Well, we're going to find out real soon if this
- 13:52Speaker 2: motivates this Eagles team or if it's taking some of
- 13:55Speaker 2: the wind out of their sail losing Lane Johnson and
- 13:58Speaker 2: Cam Juergens because they're about to face a really good
- 14:01Speaker 2: Jacksonville team, a team that has back-to-back quality wins. They
- 14:05Speaker 2: smoked Cincinnati 35-6. And this past Sunday– They beat a
- 14:09Speaker 2: pretty good Cincinnati team as well. So their resume looks
- 14:13Speaker 2: pretty good right now sitting at three and one. You know,
- 14:16Speaker 2: when you look at them in offensively and defensively, neither
- 14:19Speaker 2: side of the ball, they're a top 10 offense or defense.
- 14:23Speaker 2: But they do all the little things well. They don't
- 14:26Speaker 2: turn the ball over. They don't turn the ball over.
- 14:29Speaker 2: They only have two turnovers. And yet they lead the
- 14:31Speaker 2: NFL in the takeaway giveaway ratio at a plus six.
- 14:36Speaker 2: They have eight takeaways at this point. When you look
- 14:39Speaker 2: at this team, Barrett, what jumps out at you about
- 14:42Speaker 2: them first and foremost?
- 14:44Speaker 4: They play simple football on the defensive side of the ball.
- 14:49Speaker 4: They line up their front four, and they're going to say,
- 14:52Speaker 4: all right, my guys are going to whip your guys
- 14:54Speaker 4: up front.
- 14:55Speaker 3: And to me, I love that. You know what I mean?
- 14:56Speaker 4: I call it the kiss defense. Keep it simple, stupid.
- 14:59Speaker 4: They're not bringing in any elaborate blitzes. They're going to let,
- 15:02Speaker 4: you know, Eric Armstead rush the passer, Walker rush the passer,
- 15:05Speaker 4: and then, you know, you know, They don't worry about anything.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Josh Hines, I forget his name.
- 15:14Speaker 4: But defensive end, he's balling too.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Josh Hines Allen, that's his name, Josh Hines Allen. He's balling.
- 15:24Speaker 4: They have some guys that just go out and play
- 15:26Speaker 4: great fundamental football that like to get after it, and
- 15:28Speaker 4: they're going to definitely test this defense. Now, this is
- 15:32Speaker 4: a copycat league, and at this point, everybody's testing Jalen's
- 15:37Speaker 4: ability to pick up the blitz.
- 15:39Speaker 3: So they're going to blitz them. They're going to bring
- 15:41Speaker 3: some now.
- 15:41Speaker 4: They haven't done so, but they will do it again
- 15:43Speaker 4: in Jalen because they see the success of it.
- 15:46Speaker 3: So, I mean, they just got to go out there and,
- 15:47Speaker 3: you know, run the ball.
- 15:48Speaker 4: But the only thing you say they're going to run
- 15:50Speaker 4: the ball, it's just so happened that this defense.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Is ranked number two and stopping the run. So, you know,
- 15:56Speaker 3: what are they going to do? You know, they give
- 15:58Speaker 3: them a lot of yards from 20 to 20. They
- 16:00Speaker 3: do do that. They really bow up when they get
- 16:03Speaker 3: to the red zone. So, you know, we'll see.
- 16:06Speaker 4: You know, this is going to be a battle of,
- 16:08Speaker 4: A team that's right now losing the war of attrition
- 16:11Speaker 4: in the Eagles, and a team that's on an upward climb,
- 16:15Speaker 4: you know, with the Jacksonville Jaguars. You know, they get
- 16:18Speaker 4: Lawrence balling the way he's balling. They can run the
- 16:20Speaker 4: ball consistently. They're just a complete team, and they're doing
- 16:25Speaker 4: it well, man. They're doing it the old-fashioned way. You know,
- 16:28Speaker 4: running the rock, using play action. You know, Lawrence is
- 16:33Speaker 4: playing well at the quarterback position. Defense, they just... play hard,
- 16:38Speaker 4: they're doing it the.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Right way, man.
- 16:39Speaker 3: They're doing it the right way.
- 16:41Speaker 5: Hey, have you ever had an issue with like your
- 16:43Speaker 5: hot water heater bursting?
- 16:45Speaker 3: I've had that.
- 16:45Speaker 5: Happen at least three times in my basement, causing flooding,
- 16:50Speaker 5: causing me to miss work, causing me to deal with
- 16:52Speaker 5: people in my house trying to tell me how much
- 16:55Speaker 5: I'm going to have to pay.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Then I have to replace the appliance.
- 16:58Speaker 5: Then I got to do research on what the best
- 17:00Speaker 5: appliance is to replace with. It is madness and can
- 17:03Speaker 5: be very, very frustrating. But Housecall Pro, helps home service

- 19:10Speaker 2: Hey man, this could be a hand grenade game for Jalen, man,
- 19:12Speaker 2: because this Jacksonville defense They're number two, as you just said,
- 19:17Speaker 2: against the run.
- 19:18Speaker 1: They only give up 74 yards a game rushing, number one. Right.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Number two, they're also second in the league in points allowed,
- 19:24Speaker 2: giving up 13 points a game. Like you said, they're
- 19:27Speaker 2: going to bring the house to Jalen to test that
- 19:29Speaker 2: offensive line to find out where they can find.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Hold on, hold on.
- 19:33Speaker 1: What?
- 19:34Speaker 3: We're going to go score that much anyways.
- 19:36Speaker 1: I know. But you know what? Jalen's going to step back. Hey,
- 19:38Speaker 1: look here.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Jalen's going to step back to pass, pull the pin
- 19:41Speaker 2: on the ball, and throw it.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Like this, Bear.
- 19:44Speaker 3: And see what happens.
- 19:46Speaker 1: We should be laughing, man.
- 19:47Speaker 3: This ain't funny. It's not, man.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Because I'm going to be pissed off drinking my coffee,
- 19:52Speaker 4: eating my donuts early Saturday morning and I'm going to
- 19:57Speaker 4: be going nuts because I want my Eagles team to
- 20:00Speaker 4: play well and they're not playing well.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. They might shock us all. They might.
- 20:06Speaker 3: I hope they do.
- 20:07Speaker 1: They might shock us.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Because Leading up the next three games, they got some
- 20:12Speaker 3: really good teams. So we'll see. We'll see.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Well, it comes to that moment of truth. Oh, by
- 20:19Speaker 2: the way, their head coach, you want to talk about
- 20:21Speaker 2: a motivator? Their head coach, Liam Cohen, you know, last
- 20:24Speaker 2: year was his rookie campaign. He's the first rookie head
- 20:27Speaker 2: coach in the history of the NFL to win 13
- 20:30Speaker 2: games in his first campaign. He was 13-4 last season.
- 20:34Speaker 2: He's got this team off to a 3-1 start. The
- 20:38Speaker 2: Eagles' offense has to move the football. They are 0
- 20:43Speaker 2: for 17 in their last 17 third-down attempts. That's dating
- 20:47Speaker 2: back to two games. They were 0 for 12 this
- 20:50Speaker 2: past week. You're 0 for 17? Come on, man.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Come on, man.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Come on, man.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Seriously? You can accidentally get first downs in today's NFL.
- 21:01Speaker 2: It's so offensive-minded. The game has been geared towards protecting
- 21:05Speaker 2: the offense and forget about the defense. How do you
- 21:08Speaker 2: go 0 for 17?
- 21:10Speaker 1: How is that possible?
- 21:11Speaker 4: Stemming from the Bears to last week, we still haven't
- 21:17Speaker 4: scored in the first quarter.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Quarter.
- 21:20Speaker 4: We get out-coached and out-schemed in the second half. If
- 21:26Speaker 4: we don't score all our points in the second quarter,
- 21:29Speaker 4: we're doomed. So, you know, we just got to come
- 21:32Speaker 4: with it. You know, we can complain all day. We
- 21:36Speaker 4: can say this all day. But the Eagles might shock
- 21:38Speaker 4: us and come out there and ball. We got some
- 21:40Speaker 4: young guys that want to go out there and, you
- 21:42Speaker 4: know what I'm saying, roll their sleeves up and do
- 21:44Speaker 4: it the old-fashioned way.
- 21:45Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? Start with it. You know
- 21:47Speaker 3: what I'm saying?
- 21:48Speaker 4: So you never know. Any given Sunday, you know what?
- 21:50Speaker 4: More and more I talk about it. I'm still going
- 21:53Speaker 4: to say they're going to lose. You thought I was.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Going to say they were going to win, right?
- 21:59Speaker 3: I did.
- 21:59Speaker 1: I know you're a homer.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Yeah, you thought these were green colored glasses. No, I'm
- 22:03Speaker 3: not drinking the green Kool-Aid because I've got to be
- 22:05Speaker 3: an analyst.
- 22:06Speaker 4: And if I told you anything other than they were
- 22:07Speaker 4: going to lose and I wouldn't bet for them, I've
- 22:11Speaker 4: just got to be honest.
- 22:12Speaker 3: I'm going to tell the truth. Nothing but the truth.
- 22:14Speaker 3: I've got to tell the truth.
- 22:16Speaker 4: They are just going to be outmanned against the Jaguars.
- 22:20Speaker 4: Jaguars used to being over there And, you know, this
- 22:24Speaker 4: is just a home game for them.
- 22:26Speaker 3: So, I mean, we've got to come with it.
- 22:29Speaker 4: I got a lot of faith in this team playing hard,
- 22:35Speaker 4: but I don't think we have enough guns in the gunfight.
- 22:38Speaker 3: That's all.
- 22:38Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? We don't have our starting
- 22:41Speaker 4: wide receiver. I doubt if he plays. We don't have
- 22:42Speaker 4: our starting running back. I doubt if Saquon plays. You know,
- 22:45Speaker 4: Smitty and Saquon are out there, you know, are not
- 22:48Speaker 4: playing right now. We did get Dallas Goddard back. He's
- 22:50Speaker 4: playing well. He's been practicing every day.
- 22:52Speaker 3: We get him back.
- 22:53Speaker 4: Quinn Young's back. Our starting center hasn't practiced the last
- 22:58Speaker 4: two days. Drew Kendall has not practiced the last two days. So,
- 23:02Speaker 4: you know, we can't win for losing. We can't win
- 23:06Speaker 4: for losing. All right.
- 23:07Speaker 1: What's your final score?
- 23:09Speaker 3: I'm saying 28-14. Jacksonville wins.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Ooh, that's as bad as I am. I'm picking Jacksonville
- 23:20Speaker 2: to take the game 27-17. It hurts to say it.
- 23:25Speaker 3: It does, man. It does. It hurts my heart.
- 23:28Speaker 1: You got to tell the truth. You got to tell it.
- 23:31Speaker 3: All right.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Well, hopefully Barrett and I both will be wrong. I
- 23:34Speaker 2: don't think we will, but hopefully both of us will
- 23:36Speaker 2: be wrong and we'll find out in the days to come.
- 23:39Speaker 2: So until next week, for Mr. B, Barrett Brooks, I'm
- 23:43Speaker 2: Derek Gunn. This has been Birds Weekly presented by the
- 23:46Speaker 2: Inside the Birds Network.
- 23:47Speaker 1: So long, everybody.
