- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Playfake, go to roll right, dumps it off into the
- 0:07Speaker 2: right flasf to Michael Bumpers, who bounces off a one
- 0:10Speaker 2: tackler gets inside the forty down of the thirty five
- 0:13Speaker 2: yard line.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Matt pumpfake's looking at the god line. He throws it
- 0:17Speaker 2: into the en zone.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Touchdown. Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas with a diving catch
- 0:22Speaker 1: in the end zone.
- 0:23Speaker 2: A ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpus, and the kid
- 0:27Speaker 2: out of Washington State has found himself a place on
- 0:30Speaker 2: this team.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Now here's your host, Nasa Chovie.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Welcome back to another edition of Hawk Talk.
- 0:37Speaker 4: The Seahawks coming off an electric win over the Philadelphia
- 0:40Speaker 4: Eagles on Monday Night Football, beating them twenty to seventeen.
- 0:43Speaker 4: The streak is over. Bumped good times. We're back here
- 0:46Speaker 4: at the Virginia Mason Athletics Center. Things are good, and man,
- 0:49Speaker 4: it just it felt really good to watch this team
- 0:52Speaker 4: finally go out there do what I knew they could
- 0:54Speaker 4: do in primetime in a game they absolutely had to
- 0:56Speaker 4: have against a great Eagles team. In the fashion that
- 0:59Speaker 4: they Drew Locke and everybody that had to step up
- 1:02Speaker 4: on that final drive to get this done.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Bump.
- 1:05Speaker 4: After you've had the dust is settled a couple of
- 1:07Speaker 4: days gone by, what were your main takeaways from the
- 1:09Speaker 4: Eagles game and how you feeling about this team kind
- 1:11Speaker 4: of moving forward?
- 1:13Speaker 5: Man, I'm just you don't know what you got till
- 1:15Speaker 5: it's gone and missed a lot of wins, so I'm
- 1:18Speaker 5: glad they're back in the win column. Makes life easier
- 1:21Speaker 5: for them and for us as well. Covering the team,
- 1:23Speaker 5: I saw a resilient team, a team that had a
- 1:25Speaker 5: backup quarterback do his thing. Drew was twenty two or
- 1:28Speaker 5: thirty three to two, eight and one touchdown, the most
- 1:31Speaker 5: crucial touchdown.
- 1:32Speaker 3: At the end of the game.
- 1:33Speaker 5: I saw you seem rush for one hundred yards for
- 1:35Speaker 5: the first time since what the Commanders I believe it
- 1:38Speaker 5: was Yep, they are now six and zh wh they
- 1:39Speaker 5: rest for one hundred yards. I saw Kenneth Walker make
- 1:42Speaker 5: some amazing plays. My favorite one was probably that throw
- 1:45Speaker 5: it to the flat on third down. He makes a
- 1:47Speaker 5: couple of guys miss boom. We saw DK be clutch.
- 1:51Speaker 5: We saw this defense defend the pass pretty good. Still
- 1:53Speaker 5: gave up a a buck seventy eight on the ground,
- 1:56Speaker 5: but you get more exposive plays in the past game.
- 1:59Speaker 5: So get that and go, okay, there's a plus there.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Let's work on the run, but a big win. Playoffs
- 2:04Speaker 5: are still alive. Let's go get it. Love it, and
- 2:07Speaker 5: you know the other thing. The two things I'll say
- 2:08Speaker 5: about the Eagles game that I love. The Seahawks defensive
- 2:10Speaker 5: struggled defensively against you know, the Niners and Cowboys, things
- 2:14Speaker 5: like that. But to hold the Eagles to seventeen points,
- 2:16Speaker 5: I don't care if Jalen Hurts was sick or not.
- 2:18Speaker 5: It's still a good thing because they got dogs over there.
- 2:20Speaker 5: You hold them seventeen points. It's only the fourth time
- 2:22Speaker 5: this season they've been held under twenty points. They've lost
- 2:25Speaker 5: all those games.
- 2:26Speaker 4: And the Eagles last four possessions were punt interception, punt
- 2:31Speaker 4: interception to steal the game.
- 2:32Speaker 3: So shout out Julian Love. He had a great game.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Nine tackles, two pass defended, two interceptions, responsible for four takeaways.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Last couple of days, JSN obviously the game winning touchdown
- 2:42Speaker 4: and DK Metcalf setting that up. He became the third
- 2:45Speaker 4: player in the NFL history to reach fifty receptions and
- 2:47Speaker 4: nine hundred yards five touchdowns in each of US first
- 2:50Speaker 4: five seasons. Others on that list were Randy Moss and
- 2:52Speaker 4: AJ Green. So he's in some good company. But but man,
- 2:57Speaker 4: let's just turn the page because we're ready to go.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Time for the Tennessee Titans coming into town. What's on tap?
- 3:08Speaker 1: What's on tap?
- 3:11Speaker 4: Tennessee Titans five and nine, last place in the AFC South.
- 3:14Speaker 4: They are losers to the Saints, Browns, Colts, Ravens, Steelers, Bucks, Jags, Colts,
- 3:19Speaker 4: and Texans. They have wins over the Chargers, Bengals, Falcons,
- 3:23Speaker 4: Carolina Panthers, and shockingly the Miami Dolphins a couple of
- 3:27Speaker 4: weeks ago. Now, before I let you talk about this
- 3:29Speaker 4: past game, Titans are.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Kind of petty. Man. Yes, they are to es.
- 3:34Speaker 4: They are to wear the Houston oiler jerseys against Houston.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Man, I don't know.
- 3:40Speaker 4: It wasn't I'm not gonna say it was like the
- 3:41Speaker 4: Sonic because that's a whole different kind of thing. But
- 3:43Speaker 4: I would have been feeling a certain type of way
- 3:45Speaker 4: if I was Houston.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I've seen that.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I would have felt in some kind of way
- 3:49Speaker 5: here's the thing about that, though most of the dudes
- 3:51Speaker 5: on the field, they weren't.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Really around for that that transition.
- 3:55Speaker 5: It it's more the fans and ownership and you know,
- 3:59Speaker 5: people who are thirty something and up. I feel like,
- 4:02Speaker 5: but let's admit the uniforms were fired though.
- 4:06Speaker 3: They are so clean.
- 4:08Speaker 4: All I see is Warren Moon when I see that
- 4:09Speaker 4: Jersey went Man, right, clean cleanis in the league other
- 4:13Speaker 4: than our throwbacks for sure?
- 4:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 5: Man, the first thing you notice when you watch this
- 4:16Speaker 5: game is that CJ. Shroud is not in the game.
- 4:18Speaker 5: They also got George Fan who used to play for
- 4:20Speaker 5: the Seahawks. He wasn't playing well, Anderson wasn't playing, but
- 4:24Speaker 5: they were still able to travel to nash Field to
- 4:26Speaker 5: get that overtime win. Now, the Texans rally from a
- 4:28Speaker 5: thirteen point deficit. Case Keenum led the way. You remember
- 4:32Speaker 5: when Case Keenum was the hottest backup quarterback in the game, right,
- 4:36Speaker 5: what did he get it done? With the Vikings and
- 4:38Speaker 5: then went to the Broncos. I believe got a deal there.
- 4:41Speaker 5: But yeah, I like seeing throwback quarterbacks because I'm getting
- 4:44Speaker 5: old and I appreciate these guys who give them their
- 4:46Speaker 5: second and third chances. This was Keendan's first start since
- 4:49Speaker 5: twenty twenty one for Cleveland. The Titans, like I said,
- 4:53Speaker 5: jumped out to a thirteen point lead after a pick
- 4:55Speaker 5: by Elijah Molden. The Texas would answer with three field goals,
- 5:00Speaker 5: and the score was thirteen and nine heading into the
- 5:03Speaker 5: fourth quarter. After a Titans field goal, the Texts will
- 5:06Speaker 5: respond with a ten place, seventy nine yard drive, ending
- 5:08Speaker 5: with a Noah Brown touchdown, tying the score at sixteen.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Entertaining up to this point. Yeah, it was.
- 5:15Speaker 4: It was an interesting game, and now they go to overtime,
- 5:18Speaker 4: which now I'm starting to think man Krmer has something
- 5:22Speaker 4: to do with this bump.
- 5:24Speaker 3: The jersey section.
- 5:24Speaker 4: I had something to do it for it, because it
- 5:25Speaker 4: backfired for the Tennessee Titans, as after a couple punts
- 5:29Speaker 4: in overtime, they would go on to kick the fifty
- 5:31Speaker 4: four yard field goal to secure the nineteen sixteen victory.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Will Levis fill in the game was seventeen of twenty six,
- 5:37Speaker 4: one hundred and ninety nine yards, zero touchdowns, one interception.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Derrick Henry and we'll talk about this a little bit later.
- 5:43Speaker 4: My goodness was shut down twenty touches sixteen carries, four
- 5:46Speaker 4: receptions for a combined ten yards. Like, I read that
- 5:51Speaker 4: stat and I met a loss because Derek Henley always
- 5:55Speaker 4: falls forward. He can ten yards. Can do that in
- 5:57Speaker 4: a sleep, but didn't have. Last Sunday for the Texans,
- 6:02Speaker 4: Devin Singletary rest for one hundred twenty one yards and
- 6:04Speaker 4: twenty six carries. Case Keenum, your boy finished the day
- 6:07Speaker 4: twenty three or thirty six two twenty nine, one touchdown,
- 6:10Speaker 4: one interceptions. The loss eliminated the Titans from playoff contention
- 6:14Speaker 4: as they fell the five to nine seconds rate, losing
- 6:16Speaker 4: season under head coach Mike Rabel and rookie quarterback Will
- 6:20Speaker 4: Levis left the game with one forty nine in overtime
- 6:22Speaker 4: after he was sacked for the seventh time on the day.
- 6:25Speaker 4: His leg kind of got Connor dneath him in a pile.
- 6:27Speaker 4: His status is day to day TVDF. He's gonna play
- 6:30Speaker 4: or not. They're hoping he will, so we'll see what
- 6:32Speaker 4: quarterback we get. But yeah, man, the Titans. They shocked
- 6:35Speaker 4: them the Dolphins one week, they go down last week.
- 6:38Speaker 4: They're not a great football team, bump, but they have
- 6:40Speaker 4: dogs on the team. So let's see how this head
- 6:43Speaker 4: to head comparison sacks up.
- 6:45Speaker 5: Yeah, you mentioned they're not a great team, they do
- 6:48Speaker 5: have dogs, and honestly, defensively, their numbers are a lot
- 6:51Speaker 5: better than the Seahawks and some categories. Right, we'll start
- 6:54Speaker 5: with the defense. Things are nineteenth overall. The Hawks are
- 6:56Speaker 5: twenty eighth against the run, the Titans are seventeen. The
- 6:59Speaker 5: Hawks are twenty fifth against the pass, the Titans are
- 7:01Speaker 5: twenty second, the Hawks twenty fourth. When it comes to
- 7:03Speaker 5: points allowed, the Titans are seventeenth and the Hawks are
- 7:06Speaker 5: twenty fourth. But we know this defense has been playing
- 7:09Speaker 5: better as of late, turning the football over at least
- 7:11Speaker 5: four times the last couple of weeks.
- 7:13Speaker 3: We'll focus on that.
- 7:14Speaker 5: Offensively, the Hawks are ringing twenty at the Titans twenty six.
- 7:17Speaker 5: Running the football, the Hawks ring twenty eighth, the Titans eighteenth.
- 7:20Speaker 5: They average a hundred and four game pass offense, the
- 7:23Speaker 5: Hawks are fifteenth. Are allowing our excuse me, producing in
- 7:26Speaker 5: two hundred and thirty per game the Titans twenty fourth
- 7:29Speaker 5: to one eighty nine. And then points per game. Hawks
- 7:31Speaker 5: are putting up twenty one the Titans are putting up eighteen.
- 7:36Speaker 5: You look at the numbers, especially defensively, and the Titans
- 7:39Speaker 5: are better on paper.
- 7:40Speaker 3: But we know how this game goes at this time
- 7:42Speaker 3: of the year.
- 7:43Speaker 5: You know, we always start the season we're saying, hey,
- 7:46Speaker 5: we can't believe these numbers for about week four, right,
- 7:49Speaker 5: we ride the numbers for a few weeks. Then you
- 7:51Speaker 5: get towards the end of the season and you go, hey,
- 7:53Speaker 5: but they've been playing better than with their numbers the
- 7:54Speaker 5: short right, So I think we're back to kind of
- 7:57Speaker 5: believe in the numbers but using it to our Obviously,
- 8:00Speaker 5: we watched the Seahawks. They're playing some pretty good football
- 8:03Speaker 5: the last couple weeks.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Yeah, No, it's you can make numbers kind of say
- 8:07Speaker 4: what you want them to say, but you're right, you
- 8:08Speaker 4: kind of need to develop a baseline with that. But
- 8:10Speaker 4: then sometimes, just like I can attest to this when
- 8:14Speaker 4: it comes to GPAs in college, sometimes if you have
- 8:17Speaker 4: a really bad stretch, even if you do good later on,
- 8:20Speaker 4: those numbers are kind of just what they are.
- 8:23Speaker 3: So if you have a.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Bad semester and you get a two point zero or
- 8:25Speaker 4: two point two whatever, it tanks your entire GPA, believe
- 8:28Speaker 4: it or not for the whole four years, you know
- 8:30Speaker 4: what I mean.
- 8:31Speaker 3: So anyway, average averages work.
- 8:34Speaker 4: So yeah, this team's playing better football as of late,
- 8:37Speaker 4: so we're good to see that and hopefully can carry
- 8:38Speaker 4: that on into this Titans game. Seahawks have played the
- 8:41Speaker 4: Titans recently, back in twenty twenty one.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Let's know the history, No your history. Hawks lead the.
- 8:48Speaker 4: All time series ten to seven, but have lost three
- 8:51Speaker 4: of the last four meetings. The last game I mentioned
- 8:53Speaker 4: to twenty twenty one season, and this was a really
- 8:56Speaker 4: frustrating game back in twenty twenty one.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Week two.
- 8:59Speaker 4: It was a first game after the pandemic, so the
- 9:01Speaker 4: first time fans were allowed back in Loomenfield, and the
- 9:04Speaker 4: Seahawks looks like they were going to run away with it.
- 9:06Speaker 4: They're up thirty to sixteen in the fourth quarter, but
- 9:08Speaker 4: then you get two quick touchdowns from Derreck Henry, one
- 9:10Speaker 4: of them a sixty yard run that forced overtime. In overtime,
- 9:15Speaker 4: both teams would punt, but on the Seahawks possession, Russell
- 9:17Speaker 4: Wilson took a bad sack back to the one yard line.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Dixon had to punt out of the back of the
- 9:22Speaker 3: end zone.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Titan's got really good field position, only had to go
- 9:25Speaker 4: twenty one yards kicked at the game winning field goal
- 9:27Speaker 4: for the victory. On that day, Russell was twenty two
- 9:30Speaker 4: to thirty one, three hundred and forty three yards, two touchdowns.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Blockett went ut To, had a lock of game eight
- 9:35Speaker 4: receptions into one hundred and seventy eight yards in a touchdown,
- 9:38Speaker 4: and Bobby Widner had twenty tackles, one sack, one TfL. Now,
- 9:43Speaker 4: Derrick Henry, this is the guy that we don't want
- 9:45Speaker 4: to see this version of Derrick Henry. That day he
- 9:48Speaker 4: went carried the ball thirty five times one one hundred
- 9:51Speaker 4: and eighty two yards in three touchdowns. So let's leave
- 9:56Speaker 4: that back in twenty one because Derrick Henry can be
- 9:59Speaker 4: a dog. We don't want to see any of that
- 10:01Speaker 4: happen on Sunday. So hopefully the Seahawks can flip the script.
- 10:04Speaker 4: But let's kick it back to the NFC West.
- 10:06Speaker 3: What's the word.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Side now, the Seahawks or the NFC West champs?
- 10:15Speaker 3: Again, what's the word in the West?
- 10:18Speaker 5: On Hot Talk, I'll let you know what's going on
- 10:22Speaker 5: in the NFC West. Unfortunately, the San Francisco forty nine
- 10:26Speaker 5: ers have clinched the NFC West.
- 10:28Speaker 3: They are eleven and three.
- 10:30Speaker 5: The Rams and the Hawks are both seven and seven
- 10:32Speaker 5: and the Arizona Cardinals are three and eleven. But let's
- 10:34Speaker 5: focus on that forty nine ers in Cardinals game man.
- 10:37Speaker 5: The Cardinals made it competitive for a half, right they
- 10:40Speaker 5: marched down the field and scored in their first possession.
- 10:42Speaker 5: The Niners would then score back to back touchdouts, including
- 10:44Speaker 5: a sixty six yard pick six by Ward, making the
- 10:47Speaker 5: score of fourteen to seven. The Cardinals will respond with
- 10:50Speaker 5: two field goals, pulling within one point fourteen to thirteen,
- 10:53Speaker 5: but right before the half, brock Purty connected with Christian
- 10:55Speaker 5: McCaffrey for a five yard touchdown, making the score twenty
- 10:58Speaker 5: one to thirteen. And now that this is closed as
- 11:00Speaker 5: the guy for the Cardinals, forty nine ers will run
- 11:02Speaker 5: away with this victory forty five to twenty six. And
- 11:05Speaker 5: all the ballers came out to play for the forty
- 11:07Speaker 5: nine ers. Purdy was sixteen to twenty five for two
- 11:10Speaker 5: forty two and four touchdowns, zero interceptions. There was a
- 11:14Speaker 5: big hit. He laid down four minute. I thought it
- 11:16Speaker 5: was his shoulder, honestly, the way they're looking at him
- 11:18Speaker 5: and stuff ended up being, you know, I got shaked
- 11:22Speaker 5: up a little bit, but he was all right. Christian McCaffrey.
- 11:25Speaker 5: He had one hundred and eighty seven total yards and
- 11:27Speaker 5: three touchdowns. Deebo had four receptions for forty eight yards
- 11:29Speaker 5: and two touchdowns. Ward had two interceptions, and Fred Wonder
- 11:33Speaker 5: left the team in tackles with nine Kyler Murray. Look
- 11:38Speaker 5: all the things we say about Kyler Murray, I'm gonna
- 11:39Speaker 5: give him some love right now. He probably didn't have
- 11:42Speaker 5: to rush to get back. The team wasn't playing well.
- 11:45Speaker 5: I haven't heard anything about his attitude. I've watched some
- 11:47Speaker 5: of the games. He seems to be fine. He's showing
- 11:50Speaker 5: some growth and maturations, so good for him. He was
- 11:53Speaker 5: twenty six to thirty nine for eleven, one touchdown and
- 11:57Speaker 5: two interceptions. In James Connor at eighty six yards the
- 12:00Speaker 5: ground on fourteen carries and a touchdown.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Cardinals, you guys keep losing and.
- 12:06Speaker 5: We'll see it in a couple of weeks, and hopefully
- 12:08Speaker 5: when we do see you, the Hawks they are about
- 12:11Speaker 5: to clinch a playoff birth by beating these dudes.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I would love I'd love that that. That's a
- 12:16Speaker 4: great scenario. Bump, I can co sign triple sign that
- 12:19Speaker 4: whatever you want us to call it. Yes, let's do
- 12:21Speaker 4: that elsewhere in the NFC West Commanders at the Rams.
- 12:25Speaker 4: This is one of course Seyawk fans looking out for.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Didn't go the way we wanted it to. The Commanders
- 12:29Speaker 4: have struggled and they continue to struggle. Dropped their fifth
- 12:32Speaker 4: game in a row and haven't really been super competitive
- 12:35Speaker 4: since the Seahawks game in November. On Sunday, the Rams
- 12:39Speaker 4: jumped out to a twenty zero lead and they didn't
- 12:43Speaker 4: didn't even get on the board till six twenty five
- 12:45Speaker 4: in the third quarter. Then Matthew Stafford finds some Marcus
- 12:48Speaker 4: Robinson for twenty three yards score, making it twenty eight
- 12:50Speaker 4: to seven. Commanders scored too late touchdowns to make the
- 12:53Speaker 4: game interesting, but the Rams will recover the on site
- 12:56Speaker 4: cake with one forty five ups.
- 12:57Speaker 3: In the game hold on for the twenty eight twenty
- 12:59Speaker 3: one win.
- 13:00Speaker 4: In Stafford finished his day twenty five to thirty three,
- 13:02Speaker 4: two hundred and fifty eight yards, two touchdowns, zero interceptions.
- 13:06Speaker 4: Kyron Williams dominated on the ground one hundred and fifty
- 13:09Speaker 4: two yards twenty seven carries in one touchdown. I think
- 13:12Speaker 4: it's safe to say they found their running back because
- 13:14Speaker 4: he has been balling as of late. Cooper Cup did
- 13:17Speaker 4: Cooper Cup things one hundred eleven yards, eight receptions, one
- 13:19Speaker 4: touchdown and for the Commander is Terry McLaurin had led
- 13:22Speaker 4: all receivers with one hundred and forty one yards on
- 13:25Speaker 4: six receptions in one touchdown. Jacoby Brissette filled in for
- 13:29Speaker 4: Sam Howe at the end of that game went eight
- 13:31Speaker 4: for ten one hundred and twenty four yards two touchdowns. Now,
- 13:35Speaker 4: the Rams Seahawks tied at seven seven record. LA holds
- 13:39Speaker 4: the head to head tiebreakers right now. The Seahawks are
- 13:41Speaker 4: the eighth seed, which is the first person out of
- 13:44Speaker 4: the playoffs at the moment, and they're tied with the
- 13:46Speaker 4: Rams seven and seven, but the Rams have the had
- 13:48Speaker 4: to head tiebreaker. That means if they're in a situation
- 13:51Speaker 4: with the Rams, the Seahawks need to finish with a
- 13:53Speaker 4: better record than the Rams to get in the playoffs.
- 13:56Speaker 3: But we'll see.
- 13:57Speaker 4: We'll continue to break these playoffs scenarios down as things
- 13:59Speaker 4: get going. But one thing, you guys need to watch
- 14:01Speaker 4: out for Saints in the Rams this weekend. We need
- 14:05Speaker 4: the Saints to win. That makes things a lot easier
- 14:09Speaker 4: given the Rams schedule. We do not know what's gonna
- 14:11Speaker 4: happen with the forty nine ers in rams who play
- 14:13Speaker 4: in Week eighteen. If the forty nine ers have everything
- 14:15Speaker 4: locked up, I don't know if they're going to play
- 14:17Speaker 4: their guys. So this is a huge win for everyone
- 14:19Speaker 4: else like myself who's scoreboard watching team Saints this weekend.
- 14:23Speaker 4: And then we'll need the Saints to lose a little
- 14:24Speaker 4: bit after that because they're in the mix two. Anyway,
- 14:27Speaker 4: that's a quick little playoff preview update. But let's get
- 14:30Speaker 4: back into these Titans. Man up this.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Man up on Hawk Talk.
- 14:44Speaker 5: All right, let's look into this quarterback situation for the Titans. Man,
- 14:49Speaker 5: it's uncertain who's going to be a quarterback for the Titans.
- 14:51Speaker 5: We mentioned Will Levis. It's out with an ankle injury.
- 14:54Speaker 5: It seems like he's day to day. So you might
- 14:57Speaker 5: see Ryan Tannehill man, and I'm interested. I want to
- 15:01Speaker 5: see if we do see Ryan Tannehill, what exactly he
- 15:04Speaker 5: looks like. I hope he doesn't get that I've been
- 15:06Speaker 5: sitting down for a while. I'm rejuvenated. Let's go get it.
- 15:09Speaker 5: I don't want to see any of that. I want
- 15:10Speaker 5: to see that I've been sitting down for a while.
- 15:12Speaker 5: I'm banged up. I'm not confident. I don't believe in
- 15:15Speaker 5: myself anymore. So we shall see, man, we shall see.
- 15:19Speaker 5: But on the year, Levis has been a starting quarterback
- 15:23Speaker 5: as of late man. He was the four quarterback selected
- 15:25Speaker 5: in twenty twenty three. Just rewind a little bit. He
- 15:28Speaker 5: was seventeen and seven as a starter with Kentucky. Two
- 15:31Speaker 5: time team captain. He passed for five thousand yards plus
- 15:35Speaker 5: and fifty four touchdowns, forty three pass and eleven rushing.
- 15:38Speaker 5: This guy's mobile. The more film I watched, the more
- 15:41Speaker 5: athletic he looks to me. On the year, He's completed
- 15:43Speaker 5: fifty nine percent of his passes one thy seven hundred
- 15:45Speaker 5: and ninety two yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions. He's
- 15:48Speaker 5: been sacked twenty seven times in eight games. Levis is
- 15:52Speaker 5: three and five as a starter and has thrown for
- 15:53Speaker 5: three hundred yards just one time. All right, So Ryan Tannehill,
- 15:57Speaker 5: the guy that we could see he's had some success
- 15:59Speaker 5: in him. And see, it's crazy how quickly things changed.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Right. He started sixty one games.
- 16:03Speaker 5: He helped lead the Titans to an AFC championship in
- 16:07Speaker 5: twenty nineteen.
- 16:08Speaker 3: He went to the championship game.
- 16:09Speaker 5: They didn't win the championships correct, they lost to the
- 16:12Speaker 5: team twenty nineteen. He led the Titans to two playoff
- 16:16Speaker 5: appearances after that, in twenty twenty and twenty twenty one.
- 16:18Speaker 5: After that, it's been a bit of a struggle. Things
- 16:21Speaker 5: got bad for him this year too. He threw for
- 16:23Speaker 5: eleven hundred yards, two touchdowns and six interceptions and six stars.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Man not good, sixty two complete completion percentage when it
- 16:30Speaker 5: comes to his passes, and he's taken nineteen sacks. Titans
- 16:33Speaker 5: were two and four in those games. Then, four years
- 16:36Speaker 5: after replacing MARIOA. Tannehill himself was replaced by Will Levis.
- 16:42Speaker 5: Playing quarterback in this league is tough, hardest position in football.
- 16:45Speaker 3: You only get a few years.
- 16:46Speaker 5: If you ain't looking good in two three seasons, they're
- 16:49Speaker 5: gonna get rid of you. But they also have Maleague Willis.
- 16:52Speaker 5: Back to back years they drafted quarterbacks. League has started
- 16:55Speaker 5: three games for the Titans in twenty twenty two. In
- 16:58Speaker 5: those games, he was thirty one to sixty one for
- 17:00Speaker 5: twenty to sixty seven seventy six yards. He can be
- 17:02Speaker 5: twenty to seventy six yards, zero touchdowns and three interceptions.
- 17:05Speaker 3: In twenty twenty three.
- 17:07Speaker 5: He's appeared in three games, going four for five for
- 17:09Speaker 5: seventy four yards. Defensively, the Hawks played good last week.
- 17:14Speaker 5: You contain Jalen Hurts for the most part. He did
- 17:16Speaker 5: get some big runs off he on third downs he
- 17:18Speaker 5: scored a touchdown. But you feel good about where this
- 17:20Speaker 5: defense is. Whoever you prepare for Ryan Tannehill still have
- 17:24Speaker 5: some mobility. Malik Willis can run and Levis can run.
- 17:29Speaker 5: I don't know who you're gonna get either way. Bring
- 17:31Speaker 5: the same energy from last week and you got a shot.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 4: I mean, head coach Mike Rabel said to Levis that
- 17:38Speaker 4: you know, essentially they're gonna take it day by day
- 17:41Speaker 4: through practice.
- 17:41Speaker 3: They're doing it.
- 17:42Speaker 4: He's doing everything he can to get back. They're gonna
- 17:44Speaker 4: see as they go throughout the week. The one thing
- 17:45Speaker 4: he did say is that Tannehill will definitely back up
- 17:49Speaker 4: Levs if Levis can go, and then Leak would be
- 17:51Speaker 4: the third string or second string in that scenario. So
- 17:54Speaker 4: we'll see. Man, I I don't know who I want
- 17:57Speaker 4: to see more. I think I kind of told you
- 17:59Speaker 4: off there. I might I might rather see the rookie
- 18:01Speaker 4: Levis just because he's seen.
- 18:02Speaker 3: A lot less ballgames. You know what I mean.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Tannehill might not have been playing well, but there's something
- 18:07Speaker 4: about a savvy veteran that can make it put it
- 18:09Speaker 4: together for one game at a time. So we'll definitely
- 18:12Speaker 4: follow that story as the week goes on and see
- 18:13Speaker 4: who plays on Sunday. Flipping back to the Seahawks quarterback,
- 18:17Speaker 4: we got Drew Gino Smith's last Drew Locke taking on
- 18:19Speaker 4: the Titans defense. After hearing Pete Carroll the podium on Wednesday,
- 18:23Speaker 4: it seems like I think Gino's going to go. He's
- 18:25Speaker 4: a full one hundred percent go up practice today. So
- 18:28Speaker 4: we'll see what happens moving forward. But I'm excited because
- 18:31Speaker 4: the last time Gino Smith was on the field for
- 18:33Speaker 4: the Seahawks, he had one of his best games of
- 18:35Speaker 4: the year twenty three to forty one for three hundred
- 18:38Speaker 4: and thirty four yards, three touchdowns in one interception against Dallas.
- 18:42Speaker 4: That was his fourth three hundred dard passing game of
- 18:44Speaker 4: the season in his first game of the season with
- 18:46Speaker 4: three touchdowns. His fourth quarter game winning drive fell just
- 18:49Speaker 4: short at the end of that ball game, but they
- 18:52Speaker 4: were able to go into Dallas put up thirty five
- 18:54Speaker 4: points against the defense that was top five in the
- 18:56Speaker 4: league at the time. So the last time we saw
- 18:58Speaker 4: Geno Smith he was bawling. On the year, he's got
- 19:01Speaker 4: twenty nine hundred yards, fifteen touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Now,
- 19:04Speaker 4: Drew Lock, we give him some flowers too, because he
- 19:07Speaker 4: looked good against the Eagles, orchestrated a ninety two yard
- 19:10Speaker 4: drive at the end of the game to win it
- 19:12Speaker 4: last week, and also didn't turn the ball over.
- 19:14Speaker 3: That's a big thing.
- 19:15Speaker 4: So so far in the year, Drew Lock is forty
- 19:18Speaker 4: eight of seventy six, five hundred and forty three yards,
- 19:20Speaker 4: three touchdowns, and three interceptions. So either way, I feel
- 19:24Speaker 4: good about whoever you know, both quarterbacks going into this matchup.
- 19:27Speaker 4: But it'll be good to see Gino get back on
- 19:29Speaker 4: the field taking on this Titans dfense as nineteenth and
- 19:32Speaker 4: total defense twenty second against the pass, seventeen against a run,
- 19:35Speaker 4: seventeenth in points allowed, and tenth in sacks. But d
- 19:38Speaker 4: Nico Autry is a guy that Gino or Drew is
- 19:41Speaker 4: gonna have to keep their eyes off four because he's
- 19:43Speaker 4: having a career season. He's got eleven sacks and two
- 19:45Speaker 4: fourth fumbles, which are both career highs.
- 19:49Speaker 5: All right, let's talk about the running back situation. Derek
- 19:52Speaker 5: Henry Man, He's he's been one of the best backs
- 19:54Speaker 5: in the NFL for a minute.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Three time Pro Bowl only three times. I feel like
- 19:58Speaker 3: every year. This dude's right.
- 19:59Speaker 5: Pro Bowl twenty nineteen, twenty and twenty two, First team
- 20:03Speaker 5: All Pro in twenty twenty, and AP Offensive Player of
- 20:05Speaker 5: the Year that year. He rush for two thousand yards.
- 20:08Speaker 5: He ran for over one thousand yards four times in
- 20:11Speaker 5: his career. He has led the league in carries three
- 20:13Speaker 5: times in his career. In twenty twenty three, Henry is
- 20:16Speaker 5: still having a good year, but so far he has
- 20:18Speaker 5: two hundred thirty carries for eight hundred and eighty four yards,
- 20:20Speaker 5: a six best in the league. Ten rushing touchdowns, that
- 20:23Speaker 5: six best in the league. Last two games have been
- 20:26Speaker 5: rough for him, though.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Man. In the last two games he.
- 20:28Speaker 5: Has thirty three carries for forty three yards nuts in
- 20:32Speaker 5: two touchdowns. Last week against Houston, he has sixteen carries
- 20:36Speaker 5: for nine yards and four recessions for one yards. What
- 20:39Speaker 5: the heck? That stat line does not seem real. I
- 20:41Speaker 5: don't believe it, but I'm gonna have to take his fact.
- 20:43Speaker 5: And that's the few yards by any player in a
- 20:46Speaker 5: game in the last seventy five years with twenty plus touches.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Are we living in the matrix? What's going on with
- 20:53Speaker 3: the Henry right now? I don't know.
- 20:55Speaker 4: Are you kidding me when he put out the average
- 20:57Speaker 4: right there the last two games because last game will
- 20:59Speaker 4: be worse. But if you average last two games, he's
- 21:01Speaker 4: averaged like one yard to carry. That's nuts. This man
- 21:04Speaker 4: is rushed for two thousand yards. He has eight hundred
- 21:07Speaker 4: and eighty four yards in the year. It's not like
- 21:08Speaker 4: he's just some Joe Schmoe out there like this is
- 21:11Speaker 4: one of the best dudes to do it.
- 21:12Speaker 3: So I don't know what's going on, but I would
- 21:15Speaker 3: love it to continue for one more week, one more
- 21:17Speaker 3: one more time.
- 21:19Speaker 4: Unleo and the Seahawks, if we look at them defensively,
- 21:22Speaker 4: you know, they allowed one hundred and seventy eight yards
- 21:24Speaker 4: to the Eagles on the ground, so they've been They've
- 21:29Speaker 4: had their struggles, but again they've had times where they
- 21:32Speaker 4: played really well. You know, allowing one hundred and thirty
- 21:34Speaker 4: five yards in each the past four games is not ideal,
- 21:37Speaker 4: but they've done well at times, and at least against
- 21:39Speaker 4: the Eagles. They got stopped when they absolutely needed to.
- 21:42Speaker 4: On the season, they're twenty fifth against the run, so
- 21:44Speaker 4: we'll see what goes on from there.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Now.
- 21:46Speaker 4: Flipping another match up, DeAndre Hopkins taking on the Seahawks secondary.
- 21:50Speaker 4: When it's all said and done, Bump, he's going, he's
- 21:52Speaker 4: gonna be off fam. He's gonna have a gold jacket.
- 21:54Speaker 4: He got over twelve thousand yards, five time Pro Bowl,
- 21:56Speaker 4: three time first team off Pro on pace for a
- 21:59Speaker 4: seventh thousand yard season. He's been banged up the last
- 22:02Speaker 4: two years in Arizona, playing in just nineteen and thirty
- 22:04Speaker 4: four games, but this year he's played them all. Despite
- 22:07Speaker 4: playing with two different qbs on this five and nine
- 22:10Speaker 4: football team, he still put up good numbers fifty nine receptions,
- 22:13Speaker 4: nine hundred nineteen yards and six touchdowns. The next Coaster
- 22:16Speaker 4: receiver is Nick Westbrook all Kind who has twenty eight
- 22:20Speaker 4: receptions for three hundred and seventy yards, and he's their
- 22:23Speaker 4: go to guy. I mean he's got one hundred and
- 22:24Speaker 4: sixteen targets on the air. Next coast, this is their
- 22:27Speaker 4: tight end O'conkwo, who has just sixty three So he's
- 22:31Speaker 4: the guy that want to get the ball to and bomb.
- 22:33Speaker 3: I'm feeling good about how the.
- 22:34Speaker 4: Secondary played, so I like how they can attack this matchup.
- 22:38Speaker 5: Yeah, Michael Jackson played good. I was happy to see
- 22:40Speaker 5: him out there last week. He had four tackles in
- 22:42Speaker 5: one TfL two passes defended. We all know j Love
- 22:45Speaker 5: NFC defensive player of the Week, had himself a game,
- 22:49Speaker 5: nine tackles, two interceptions, and he's been a part of
- 22:53Speaker 5: four takeaways the past two games, three picks, one forced
- 22:56Speaker 5: fumblem Devin ware the Spoon missed last week.
- 22:58Speaker 3: He's missed the last two game.
- 23:00Speaker 5: Games this year, but he's still a third in the
- 23:01Speaker 5: league when it comes to passes defending. On the season,
- 23:04Speaker 5: he has only one game this season where he doesn't
- 23:07Speaker 5: have a pass defended, so let's hope that he is
- 23:09Speaker 5: healthy and ready to go. As a team, the Hawks
- 23:12Speaker 5: have sixty eight passes defended, that is ninth best in
- 23:14Speaker 5: the NFL. Let's focus on our running backs, the Seahawks
- 23:18Speaker 5: from RBS versus the Titans front seven. Ken Walker played
- 23:22Speaker 5: good last week. Man he set the tone. He got downhill,
- 23:26Speaker 5: had a couple of receptions out the backfield that were good.
- 23:30Speaker 5: The Seahawks rush for one hundred yards, and like I mentioned,
- 23:33Speaker 5: he rush for one hundred yards, Seahawks win the game.
- 23:35Speaker 5: They are now six to zero when they rush four
- 23:37Speaker 5: one hundred yards. When they don't, the Hawks are one
- 23:39Speaker 5: in seventeen. So let's keep the run game going. Against
- 23:42Speaker 5: the Eagles, Kin had one hundred and twelve total yards,
- 23:44Speaker 5: eighty six on the ground, twenty six through the air,
- 23:47Speaker 5: including a twenty three yard touchdown. When ken Walker is
- 23:51Speaker 5: doing his thing, the offense is at his best. On
- 23:54Speaker 5: the year, Walker has seven hundred twenty yards, seven touchdowns,
- 23:57Speaker 5: twenty four receptions for two thirty two in one touchdow.
- 24:00Speaker 5: The Titans are the middle of the pack when it
- 24:02Speaker 5: comes to stop and a run. Their seventeenth in line
- 24:04Speaker 5: one hundred and twelve yards per game. The last two weeks,
- 24:07Speaker 5: though they gave up one hundred and forty eight versus
- 24:09Speaker 5: Houston one forty eight versus Miami.
- 24:12Speaker 3: I'm an average of one point fifty three. Let's keep
- 24:14Speaker 3: that rolling. Ken Walker is the key man, the guy,
- 24:20Speaker 3: he's the key win. He's rolling.
- 24:21Speaker 4: I mean, it's it sounds so simple, but when you're
- 24:24Speaker 4: six and nine you rush for one hundred yards, I mean, yeah,
- 24:26Speaker 4: you're gonna do better. But That just shows you're controlling
- 24:29Speaker 4: time possession, or if you're not controlling it, it's at
- 24:31Speaker 4: least close. You're not getting blown out. That means you're
- 24:33Speaker 4: possessing the ball. So I want to see K nine
- 24:35Speaker 4: because he can be one of the league's best. So
- 24:37Speaker 4: I want to see him active again. Because this team,
- 24:41Speaker 4: I'll take another hundred yards. It's guarantees of victory, right guaranteed, though, guaranteed.
- 24:46Speaker 4: Speaking of victory, let's tell you how we're gonna get
- 24:47Speaker 4: their path of victory.
- 24:51Speaker 2: After forty five waits for the snat, Michael Vickton puts
- 24:54Speaker 2: it down.
- 24:55Speaker 3: That kick is away.
- 24:56Speaker 2: If that kick is good, good say of Twin God.
- 25:00Speaker 1: It's a pass to victory. On Hawk Talk.
- 25:03Speaker 4: The gauntlet is over, but the Seahawks still have a
- 25:06Speaker 4: tough road with no margin for air if they want
- 25:09Speaker 4: to be in the playoffs. Essentially, if the Seahawks went out,
- 25:12Speaker 4: they're almost guaranteed a playoff spot. Ten wins will do
- 25:14Speaker 4: that for you. But it's gonna start with this Titans team.
- 25:17Speaker 4: And yes, they're five to nine, but they're physical, they're
- 25:19Speaker 4: a tough team, and job number one, Numero uno is
- 25:23Speaker 4: to stop Derrick Henry. Yes, he struggled the last two weeks,
- 25:26Speaker 4: but we know what he is capable of. And then
- 25:29Speaker 4: for me, make life tough on whoever starts a quarterback.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Titans offensive line has really struggled along fourteen sacks last
- 25:35Speaker 4: three games, So get after Levis or Tannehill or the leak,
- 25:38Speaker 4: doesn't really matter, it starts there. I think this is
- 25:41Speaker 4: a time where we can see the defensive line really
- 25:43Speaker 4: take a step and change the game, similar to that
- 25:45Speaker 4: Giants game early in the year.
- 25:47Speaker 5: And if you get after those quarterbacks, you will create turnovers.
- 25:50Speaker 5: Keep up the good work man, Jay Love is responsible
- 25:53Speaker 5: for for the last two weeks. Let's get everybody else
- 25:55Speaker 5: involved offensively, build off of what you did last week
- 25:58Speaker 5: and stay committed to the run. Ken Walker needs twenty
- 26:02Speaker 5: five plus touches easily, and find a way to get
- 26:05Speaker 5: DK the football man. We talked to Warren Muon before
- 26:09Speaker 5: the game goes. Look he gave is the type of dude.
- 26:12Speaker 5: I want to give him the football early he gets
- 26:13Speaker 5: into the groove. Let's do that and take care of
- 26:17Speaker 5: the rock. Like you said, you're pretty much in the
- 26:19Speaker 5: playoffs now three games left, win all three, give yourself
- 26:22Speaker 5: a chance. Starts with the Titans. I'm glad the gauntlet
- 26:25Speaker 5: is behind the stone.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Yes, and it'll be good too because it's Christmas Eve.
- 26:31Speaker 4: For those who celebrate, it's a great time, you know
- 26:33Speaker 4: what I'm saying, have some holiday spirits. Listen to Seahawks
- 26:36Speaker 4: pregame show starting at ten to a excuse me, that's
- 26:39Speaker 4: when kickoff is seven am. Bump, we're getting up early,
- 26:43Speaker 4: getting up early. You can listen to the Seahawks pre
- 26:44Speaker 4: game show on SEAHOWK Sports the COI News Radio as
- 26:47Speaker 4: long as the Seahawks app Here's the deal. The Seahawks
- 26:50Speaker 4: have a great opportunity this weekend and keep their playoff
- 26:52Speaker 4: folks alive, and I think they can get it done.
- 26:53Speaker 4: A nice early Christmas gift to everyone out there. Let's
- 26:57Speaker 4: go get it done. The Seahawks taking on the Tennessee Titans.
- 27:00Speaker 4: Hopefully we'll be talking to you, let's call it Boxing
- 27:03Speaker 4: Day the day after Christmas, talking about a Seahawks victory
- 27:06Speaker 4: down there in Nashville.
- 27:07Speaker 3: He's Michael Bamba, some nasatrobe. This has been Hawk Talk
