- 0:00Speaker 1: Now more.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Mark Simone on sevent TENR Well, we'll get to the
- 0:09Speaker 2: state of the Union space coming up. It's only Wednesday.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I don't know about where you are. It's not so
- 0:15Speaker 2: great everywhere else, but here in Manhattan the snow is
- 0:18Speaker 2: pretty much gone. It's a little bit today, but it's
- 0:21Speaker 2: going to be warm for the next few days. That'll
- 0:23Speaker 2: get rid of it all. It'll be forty or more
- 0:26Speaker 2: through the weekend. That will get rid of it all.
- 0:29Speaker 2: So the good news, there's no more snowball fights. Now.
- 0:31Speaker 2: This is a downtown snowball fight. It started online. I
- 0:37Speaker 2: think it was on TikTok or Instagram or somewhere. But
- 0:40Speaker 2: they started organizing this and then hundreds of people, not kids,
- 0:45Speaker 2: they looked like grown up people showed up for this
- 0:48Speaker 2: snowball fight and it got out of control and there
- 0:50Speaker 2: were a couple of hundred of these people throwing snowballs. Now,
- 0:52Speaker 2: remember on Monday, this was at the height of the blizzard.
- 0:55Speaker 2: It was wet, hard snow. When you make a wet snowball,
- 0:58Speaker 2: it's very hard. It ice is up and it was
- 1:00Speaker 2: freezing cold. So these are dangerous kind of snowballs, and
- 1:03Speaker 2: they were throwing them everywhere. There were a couple of
- 1:05Speaker 2: hundred of these kids in the neighbors. People in the
- 1:07Speaker 2: neighborhood got very alarmed at this, called nine to one
- 1:10Speaker 2: one and cops started to show up, and these crazy
- 1:14Speaker 2: lunatics started throwing snowballs at cops and then hitting them.
- 1:17Speaker 2: You saw the video cops getting hit in the head,
- 1:20Speaker 2: getting hit in the face, and many of these snowballs
- 1:22Speaker 2: were pretty hard and icy. It was an ugly thing.
- 1:26Speaker 2: The police commissioner right after that put out a text
- 1:30Speaker 2: saying a tweet saying that you know, they have a
- 1:35Speaker 2: surveillance video, they're going to look, they can identify faces.
- 1:37Speaker 2: They're going to start hunting down these people. That that
- 1:40Speaker 2: was actually a criminal act. That's assaulting a police officer.
- 1:43Speaker 2: It's actually a crime. You'll be arrested now. Then things
- 1:47Speaker 2: changed when mayor mom Donnie shows up. Of course, this
- 1:51Speaker 2: crazy goofy young college a kid who's never had a job,
- 1:55Speaker 2: never worked, never manage anything, never run anything, bleeding heart
- 1:59Speaker 2: left kook. So he wants to laugh the whole thing off.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Ad they were just kids.
- 2:04Speaker 1: I can just tell you from the video I saw
- 2:06Speaker 1: it looked like kids at a snowball fight.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Yeah, look at the video. I don't see any kids
- 2:11Speaker 2: in the video. They don't look like kids. They're not children,
- 2:13Speaker 2: they're grown up, they're adults.
- 2:15Speaker 1: From the videos that I've seen, it looks like a
- 2:17Speaker 1: snowball fight. I think that there were two officers who
- 2:20Speaker 1: were facing lacerations on their.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Face of those who builted them.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Look, I've seen the videos of this snowball fight. I
- 2:28Speaker 1: think that it was a snowball fight all right.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Now, of course he's being a complete idiot. He's so
- 2:35Speaker 2: blinded by his left wing nonsense. Now, if those were
- 2:39Speaker 2: Muslims protesting something and they were getting hit in the
- 2:41Speaker 2: face with snowballs, would it just be kids? Eh, just
- 2:43Speaker 2: a snowball fight. If we're emom's being hit. If it
- 2:46Speaker 2: were those crazy left wing ice protesters, if they were
- 2:50Speaker 2: getting hit in the face with these snowballs by adult males,
- 2:53Speaker 2: would it be just a snowball fight? Of course not.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Police commissioner is right, The head of the PBA is right.
- 3:00Speaker 2: It's criminal. It's a crime. These guys need to be
- 3:02Speaker 2: tracked down, arrested. They've identified some fate. They've got some
- 3:05Speaker 2: pretty good pictures of some of the faces. You can
- 3:08Speaker 2: see them online or on TV. But is it a crime?
- 3:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't. From the videos that I've seen, it
- 3:14Speaker 1: looks like a snowball fight.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Yeah, No, it's a crime. It's criminal. It's not a
- 3:18Speaker 2: snowball fight. First of all, the police didn't have any snowballs.
- 3:21Speaker 2: A snowball fight means two people thrown at each other.
- 3:24Speaker 2: The police did not have snowballs. They were not in
- 3:28Speaker 2: the snowball fight. They were trying to keep order. And
- 3:32Speaker 2: if you watch the videos, boy, you got to give
- 3:34Speaker 2: these cops real credit amazing self control not to react
- 3:40Speaker 2: to that. It was pretty intense to getting hit with
- 3:44Speaker 2: these snowballs and they did not react. But it was
- 3:47Speaker 2: not a snowball fight. But any stretch of the imagination,
- 3:50Speaker 2: can you.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Agree with Commissioner Tish that what happened in Washington Square
- 3:53Speaker 1: Park with these snowballs was criminal? And how can you
- 3:56Speaker 1: take steps to potentially like this doesn't happen again. So
- 3:59Speaker 1: I've seen videos of kids drowing snowballs at members of
- 4:03Speaker 1: the NYPD in Washington Square Park, And first I want
- 4:05Speaker 1: to say that officers have been on the front line
- 4:08Speaker 1: of helping our city respond to this blizzard. They have
- 4:11Speaker 1: been keeping New Yorker safe and they have also been
- 4:15Speaker 1: at the heart of our efforts of digging New Yorker's
- 4:18Speaker 1: cars out of these kinds of conditions and ensuring that
- 4:21Speaker 1: our ambulances, our MTA buses can keep functioning across this city.
- 4:25Speaker 1: They and our entire city workforce deserve to be treated
- 4:29Speaker 1: with respect. The only person in our city's workforce who
- 4:32Speaker 1: deserves to be treated with a snowball is me.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Okay, so now he's trying to cover his ass there,
- 4:38Speaker 2: but he's heading down a very bad path here. He's
- 4:41Speaker 2: going to end up like Deblasio. You remember Deblasio with
- 4:43Speaker 2: his bad attitude towards the cops. It got to the
- 4:46Speaker 2: point when that big public event, all the cops who
- 4:48Speaker 2: had been lined to turn their back on him. You
- 4:50Speaker 2: don't want to get into that kind of stuff. You
- 4:53Speaker 2: don't want to end up like that. And this guy's
- 4:57Speaker 2: probably smarter than Deblasio. The problem is that it's in
- 5:00Speaker 2: an academic kind of way, so he doesn't have any
- 5:03Speaker 2: real world experience or management experience. But President mentioning him
- 5:08Speaker 2: last night in the speech, said, you know, he's a
- 5:11Speaker 2: nice guy. He's a nice guy. Bad policies, but he's
- 5:14Speaker 2: a nice guy. And the President mentioning in the speech
- 5:17Speaker 2: he does talk to him regularly, so he keeps talking
- 5:19Speaker 2: to him. Now, why keep saying he's a nice Well,
- 5:22Speaker 2: sometimes people are nice. Guy. Sometimes these horrible people you
- 5:24Speaker 2: see on TV in real life, they're nice people, but
- 5:30Speaker 2: they're bad at their jobs. They really stink. I think
- 5:33Speaker 2: the President thinks by keeping the conversation going with this
- 5:36Speaker 2: guy that at some point he'll be able to have
- 5:39Speaker 2: some influence on him. He's not going to turn him
- 5:41Speaker 2: into a normal person, but at some point he may
- 5:45Speaker 2: be able to get him in a back off on something.
- 5:48Speaker 2: So I think he just sees some hope for helping
- 5:52Speaker 2: this guy straightening me out, just to hair at some
- 5:55Speaker 2: point he also Mom Donnie and AOC, these two nut jobs,
- 5:59Speaker 2: these two left wing koos, did an ad which they
- 6:02Speaker 2: posted its video. It's the most cringey thing in the world.
- 6:05Speaker 2: It's basically telling illegals to sign up for illegals to
- 6:09Speaker 2: sign up for daycare that taxpayers will pay for. They're
- 6:13Speaker 2: getting a lot of flak for that, but hey, this
- 6:16Speaker 2: is New York. You got enough crazy lunatics of elect
- 6:19Speaker 2: people like AOC, people like this guy. State of the
- 6:23Speaker 2: Union speech last night went very very well. If you
- 6:27Speaker 2: don't believe me, put on MSNBC. Watch how angry they're
- 6:30Speaker 2: there get and they're so angry about the speech. They're
- 6:32Speaker 2: yelling and screaming and Morning Joe ranting and raving. Now,
- 6:36Speaker 2: as soon as the presidents don't want these speeches, the
- 6:39Speaker 2: fact checkers go to work and try to destroy him
- 6:41Speaker 2: with the fact check. They were unable to find much
- 6:44Speaker 2: of anything. Now, if you go to the real partisan,
- 6:49Speaker 2: left wing kook sites like Mediaite, you know, they just
- 6:53Speaker 2: always say crazy things. It says CNN's fact checker, blistering
- 6:59Speaker 2: fact check on Trump's speech, fifteen false claim, fifteen lies,
- 7:04Speaker 2: a blistering fact. Well, let's go see what the blistering
- 7:08Speaker 2: fact they really found. Nothing. He said he inherited a
- 7:12Speaker 2: stagnant economy. But inflation was already coming down under Biden. Yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 2: but it's very misleading. Inflation is lower under Trump, much
- 7:21Speaker 2: lower than under Biden. Biden had. The reason it was
- 7:24Speaker 2: coming down was Biden was always had high inflation. At
- 7:27Speaker 2: one point it went so high it went like through
- 7:29Speaker 2: the roof to nine percent, highest in our lifetime, So
- 7:34Speaker 2: you can't stay at that. It came down from nine
- 7:35Speaker 2: percent to like six percent if it was still bad.
- 7:38Speaker 2: It's so that fact check is just ridiculous. Now, one point,
- 7:42Speaker 2: he claimed that there's plenty of states where gas is
- 7:44Speaker 2: two dollars and thirty cents a gallon and in some
- 7:48Speaker 2: places a dollar ninety nine a gallon. Well the fact checkers, oh,
- 7:51Speaker 2: this is a total lie. Well it's not a total lie.
- 7:54Speaker 2: It's absolutely correct. How does the fact checker try to
- 7:56Speaker 2: claim it's a lie. Well, he says he checked with
- 7:59Speaker 2: the true and there's no state where the average is
- 8:03Speaker 2: a dollar ninety nine. Well he didn't say the average.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Now for instance here, so somebody went into Oklahoma and
- 8:09Speaker 2: found four gas stations that had a gas at a
- 8:12Speaker 2: dollar ninety nine, So the present was correct. The fact
- 8:15Speaker 2: checker really trying to stretch things. That's the one that
- 8:18Speaker 2: drives people nuts, because that's the thing that we're yelling about.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Gas prices. You know, it's four dollars a gallon, four
- 8:23Speaker 2: point fifty five dollars a gallon. Six dollars a gallon
- 8:26Speaker 2: in California. Still is you know, everywhere you go all
- 8:29Speaker 2: over America, gas is about two dollars and thirty cents.
- 8:32Speaker 2: If you're here in New York, it's still like four dollars.
- 8:34Speaker 2: If you're in Connecticut Westchester, maybe it's three foot. Why
- 8:38Speaker 2: is it so high when it's dropped dramatically, it's down
- 8:41Speaker 2: to two dollars and thirty cents everywhere else, it's because
- 8:43Speaker 2: of New York. They won't let it drop. They every
- 8:47Speaker 2: time it's going to drop, they put more state tax
- 8:50Speaker 2: on it. So when you see this continued high price
- 8:53Speaker 2: of gas, it's all state tax. They kept the price
- 8:56Speaker 2: high by state tax. Same thing in California. You know,
- 9:00Speaker 2: it's still five six dollars a gallon. It should be
- 9:03Speaker 2: two dollars and thirty cents like everywhere else, but the
- 9:05Speaker 2: state keeps piling taxes on. So no fact checker is
- 9:10Speaker 2: yet to find any real, actual false claim in the
- 9:13Speaker 2: president's speech. Hey, in fact, we could fact check the media.
- 9:16Speaker 2: They got a lot of things wrong. David Muir and
- 9:21Speaker 2: Jonathan Carl ABC News, the President is you know, the
- 9:24Speaker 2: first five ten minutes is the President coming down the aisle,
- 9:28Speaker 2: shaking hands, taking selfies, people greeting him. And at one
- 9:33Speaker 2: point he got to the Supreme Court justices and David
- 9:36Speaker 2: Muir and Jonathan Carl to fake news guys, especially Carl said, look,
- 9:42Speaker 2: at that he refused to shake hands with Amy coney Barrett.
- 9:46Speaker 2: He shook hands with Kavanaugh, but not with Amy coney Barrett,
- 9:49Speaker 2: who voted against him. Well, they got that wrong. He
- 9:52Speaker 2: did shake hands with Amy coney Barrett. Now I'll give
- 9:55Speaker 2: them a little pass on this, because there was a
- 9:59Speaker 2: woman that walked down the aisle with President Trump. She
- 10:02Speaker 2: was some kind of aid coming down the aisle with him,
- 10:05Speaker 2: like escorting him. She looks exactly like Amy coney Barrett.
- 10:09Speaker 2: So if you were looking fast, you see him shake
- 10:11Speaker 2: Kabanough's hand and the woman is standing there, and he
- 10:13Speaker 2: doesn't shake her hand. But the woman is with him,
- 10:15Speaker 2: he wouldn't shake her hand, So it was an honest mistake,
- 10:18Speaker 2: probably because she does. It's unbelievable the resemblance there. So hey,
- 10:26Speaker 2: you know what's interesting the South Street Seaport. You ever
- 10:29Speaker 2: been there? I see most people haven't been there for
- 10:34Speaker 2: like thirty forty years. They've been trying to get the
- 10:36Speaker 2: South Street Seaport going. Here in Manhattan, you know, the
- 10:40Speaker 2: meatpacking district was a dangerous, isolated, terrible place. And then
- 10:45Speaker 2: the great Irwin Cohen, the great New York legendary builder,
- 10:48Speaker 2: built the Chelsea Market and it started to really take off,
- 10:53Speaker 2: and then the whole everything took off around it, and
- 10:56Speaker 2: that created the Meatpacking District and to this day it's
- 10:58Speaker 2: one of the hottest places in manhatt Go down to
- 11:01Speaker 2: the Meatpacking didition was a million great restaurants, hotels, stores,
- 11:06Speaker 2: great stores and everything is there. Everything in the Chelsea Market,
- 11:10Speaker 2: the whole first floors like an enormous food court. Millions
- 11:13Speaker 2: of people down there go down to Tribeca. It's been
- 11:16Speaker 2: in So they've been trying to do this with the
- 11:19Speaker 2: South Street Seaport for about forty years now years ago.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Remember it was a late eighties early nineties Dinkins administration.
- 11:28Speaker 2: They're trying to really get the South Street Seaport to
- 11:31Speaker 2: take off. Remember Carolines was a big comedy club downtown
- 11:36Speaker 2: and they got her to close and moved to the big, big,
- 11:39Speaker 2: big comedy club at South Street Seaport and she opened
- 11:43Speaker 2: there and other stuff. I loved restaurants open there. There
- 11:45Speaker 2: was Roeblings. There was all these great restaurants South Street Seaport,
- 11:48Speaker 2: and one by one they all went out of business
- 11:50Speaker 2: because nobody wanted to go down there. And Carolines closed
- 11:53Speaker 2: and moved the Times Square where it flourished, so it
- 11:56Speaker 2: never worked that South Street seaport. So about it was
- 11:58Speaker 2: it five years ago. They decided to get it going
- 12:01Speaker 2: again and they built with the tin building and they
- 12:05Speaker 2: go all these top restaurants and they got John George
- 12:08Speaker 2: to come down there and open the most incredible food
- 12:10Speaker 2: hall ever and an amazing restaurant. Yeah it was twenty
- 12:16Speaker 2: twenty two. Was that four years ago? And it was
- 12:19Speaker 2: ten years in the making, big real estate guys, that
- 12:21Speaker 2: we'll get this South three seaport going again. Ten years
- 12:24Speaker 2: they worked on this, poured hundreds of millions of dollars
- 12:28Speaker 2: into this, even though John John George deal was for
- 12:31Speaker 2: two hundred million. So he opened it was going to
- 12:34Speaker 2: be like Italy or the Chelsea Marty opened this incredible
- 12:37Speaker 2: food hall, restaurants, unbelievable, luxurious, beautiful, unbelievable. Well it all
- 12:45Speaker 2: closed last week. It all closed down. It's gone, it's closed.
- 12:49Speaker 2: They couldn't get it going again. Just total lack of
- 12:53Speaker 2: foot traffic. People blamed the ice relatively remote location along
- 12:59Speaker 2: the East River. It's too far away from anybody commuting.
- 13:02Speaker 2: It's not convenient to any subways. Anything you think about
- 13:07Speaker 2: the Chelsea market, there's like twelve subways that go right there.
- 13:10Speaker 2: It's easy to get to. It's right next to the village,
- 13:12Speaker 2: it's right next to the so soho. Try back South
- 13:15Speaker 2: Street te boards like the middle of nowhere. They cannot
- 13:18Speaker 2: get it going. It was kind of the same with
- 13:21Speaker 2: Hudson Yards, although Hudson Yards is different. Hudson Yards has
- 13:24Speaker 2: a lot of apartment buildings an office building, so you
- 13:27Speaker 2: got a bunch of people that are there anyway, and
- 13:30Speaker 2: it's not that isolated. It's like a few blocks from
- 13:34Speaker 2: Penn Station. But South Street Seaport. I don't know what
- 13:37Speaker 2: they're going to ever do at that place. Hey, Martin Short,
- 13:40Speaker 2: this is just terrible. Another great tragedy in Hollywood. Martin Short,
- 13:47Speaker 2: his daughter Catherine killed herself. She was only forty. They
- 13:50Speaker 2: just had a big birthday party for big splashy birthday
- 13:54Speaker 2: party at a restaurant with Goldie Hawn was there, Katherine O'Hara,
- 13:58Speaker 2: Joni Mitchell. That was the idol. Joni Mitchell even named
- 14:03Speaker 2: her dog after Joni Mitchell. Fortieth birthday party and his daughter,
- 14:08Speaker 2: Katherine was a social worker and then went later to
- 14:12Speaker 2: her apartment committed suicide. TMZ reported she was found dead
- 14:16Speaker 2: with a self inflicted gunshot wound. It's just horrible, Martin Short,
- 14:23Speaker 2: you know. And Martin Short, he's been through a lot
- 14:24Speaker 2: of death. His former wife died, his brother died, his
- 14:27Speaker 2: parents died, and now this. Now they say that the
- 14:31Speaker 2: daughter was suffering from some sort of mental illness and
- 14:36Speaker 2: had problems all along. So we'll see what he says.
- 14:40Speaker 2: He hasn't really commented yet. Hey, an American Airlines plane
- 14:43Speaker 2: lands in Miami. It had been in Colombia, in South
- 14:46Speaker 2: South America, Columbia. It lands in Miami. You know, when
- 14:50Speaker 2: a plane lands, they do a quick inspection, you see
- 14:53Speaker 2: what mostly to clean the planet. But it lands from Colombia.
- 14:58Speaker 2: During the inspection, they find a number of bullet holes.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Bullet holes in the plane from Columbia. Now, if you
- 15:04Speaker 2: hit the right stuff, in fact, it hit the right
- 15:08Speaker 2: aleron whichever that is, which helps control the balance of
- 15:11Speaker 2: the plane, it can cause a crash if well. Luckily,
- 15:15Speaker 2: with all these bullet holes it didn't and the plane
- 15:17Speaker 2: was able to land. Okay, hey, we'll take some calls. Next.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten is
- 15:23Speaker 2: the number eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
- 15:27Speaker 2: seven ten wrs Mark Simon, Hey, let's take some calls.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Let's go to Fred in Florida. Fred, how are you doing.
- 15:41Speaker 4: I'm doing fine now, Mark. Yeah, just like the comments
- 15:44Speaker 4: and all these Democrats that didn't stand up last night
- 15:47Speaker 4: because they're criminals, and they need criminals because they're criminals,
- 15:52Speaker 4: and that they don't want to vote or any then.
- 15:55Speaker 2: I mean maybe a lean elon Omar might be a criminal,
- 15:59Speaker 2: but then criminals they're just nuts.
- 16:01Speaker 4: I mean no, they're waiting for something to wind these
- 16:04Speaker 4: people up, and they want to get them going and
- 16:06Speaker 4: actually put the midterms, and they need these people.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Here who yeh, no, but they're not criminals. They're and
- 16:12Speaker 2: you should make fun of the sick. They're sick. They
- 16:14Speaker 2: have a disease Trump to arrangement syndrome. It's affecting them.
- 16:18Speaker 2: They don't realize how many traps were set for them.
- 16:21Speaker 2: They fell right into each one of them. The whole
- 16:23Speaker 2: real purpose of that speech last night was to get
- 16:25Speaker 2: video for midterm campaign ads of Democrats acting crazy at
- 16:30Speaker 2: the state of the Union. And they've come away with
- 16:32Speaker 2: tons of videos. You'll be seeing these moments in ads
- 16:35Speaker 2: all over the place in the fall. Let's go to
- 16:38Speaker 2: Randall in Maryland. Randall, how you doing.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I'm good, march Well. Who throws snowballs at cops gets
- 16:46Speaker 3: away with it?
- 16:48Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 16:49Speaker 2: Nobody does you know when remember when you were a
- 16:51Speaker 2: kid and you throw snowballs at cars coming by, and
- 16:54Speaker 2: all of a sudden the cops showed up and you
- 16:56Speaker 2: were in big trouble. Would you ever think that throw
- 16:57Speaker 2: the snowball at the cop.
- 17:01Speaker 3: I've lived in me George stations in the States. No
- 17:07Speaker 3: long jest away with that.
- 17:09Speaker 2: No, you shouldn't get away with it. I mean, listen,
- 17:11Speaker 2: we're in the crazy left wing Kooki Mamdani world. Things
- 17:14Speaker 2: are different now. If the good old days and you
- 17:17Speaker 2: threw snowballs at cops, I just openly hit him with snowballs,
- 17:21Speaker 2: you would the cops would give you what Curtis would
- 17:26Speaker 2: call a wooden shampoo, the night sticks would come out,
- 17:29Speaker 2: and you'd learned not to throw snowballs at cops. Let's
- 17:33Speaker 2: go to Jim in New Jersey. Jim, how you doing him?
- 17:36Speaker 6: Mark?
- 17:37Speaker 7: Mark? You were talking yesterday about consequential presidents being assassinated.
- 17:41Speaker 7: Did you know that one of our assassinated presidents died
- 17:44Speaker 7: at the Jersey Shore. I mean, he wasn't on vacation,
- 17:46Speaker 7: but he died at the Jersey Shore.
- 17:48Speaker 2: No, who was that.
- 17:50Speaker 7: James Garfield? He was shot in the.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Old James Garfield.
- 17:54Speaker 7: He was shot in the old railroad station in d C.
- 17:58Speaker 7: And he suffered for three in Washington with horrible medical care.
- 18:02Speaker 7: So they built him a special train and he took
- 18:05Speaker 7: him to Elberon, New Jersey, at the Jersey Shore, where
- 18:08Speaker 7: he eventually died.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Okay, but back then, you're talking about a million years ago,
- 18:12Speaker 2: there was no Jersey. It wasn't the same Jersey Shore.
- 18:14Speaker 2: There weren't a million.
- 18:15Speaker 7: Uh, there was no It was near Red Bank, Elberon.
- 18:19Speaker 7: Ok That was no base theater back then, Mark one,
- 18:24Speaker 7: more than speaking of the Jersey Shore. That you know
- 18:26Speaker 7: that Ulysses S. Grant was born in Point Pleasant.
- 18:29Speaker 2: No, I didn't know that. Ohio. Oh all right, yeah,
- 18:35Speaker 2: Bank March. All right, thanks for calling. We've never had
- 18:37Speaker 2: a Jersey Have we ever had a New Jersey present? Yeah,
- 18:40Speaker 2: I'm sure we have. I can't remember who, but I'm
- 18:42Speaker 2: sure we have. Let's go to Bruce in Franklin. Bruce,
- 18:45Speaker 2: how you doing? All right, Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 18:50Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 18:51Speaker 5: Good morning, Mark, Mark, I'm okay, Good morning Rich, Good
- 18:54Speaker 5: morning Mara. Back in the day, had you even deigned
- 18:57Speaker 5: to throw a snowball out of the top, cop would
- 19:00Speaker 5: have got out of the car, and as you pointed out,
- 19:03Speaker 5: as Kurtas said, you would have got a wooden shampoo
- 19:07Speaker 5: on your legs, on your head, everywhere. Mark, Abigail Spamberg
- 19:14Speaker 5: is probably the worst person they could have chose to
- 19:18Speaker 5: do the rebuttal to Trump's speech. She as soon as
- 19:22Speaker 5: she got an office, she ran as a moderate. Soon
- 19:25Speaker 5: as she got an office. As we say in Italy
- 19:28Speaker 5: the Chinese and China, if it walks, they eat it
- 19:31Speaker 5: with her. If it doesn't walk, if it's dead, she'll
- 19:36Speaker 5: tax it. She wants to tax car work, auto mechanic words,
- 19:41Speaker 5: the dog walkers.
- 19:43Speaker 6: She wants the.
- 19:43Speaker 5: Guy taxed, nail salons, gyms, everything.
- 19:48Speaker 6: Mark.
- 19:48Speaker 5: I've been in the real estate business for a long
- 19:51Speaker 5: time and during the I've had some even famous Hollywood
- 19:58Speaker 5: editors living my yeah no square business.
- 20:03Speaker 6: Mark.
- 20:03Speaker 5: I'm not gonna drop any names, but one guy in particular.
- 20:08Speaker 5: I mean, I've.
- 20:09Speaker 6: Members like ilain Omar and Tahleeb and AOC. It seems
- 20:15Speaker 6: like the group, the liberal group from like twenty five
- 20:20Speaker 6: to forty, they're completely out of their birds. The old liberals,
- 20:25Speaker 6: like in their seventies. They're probably too decrepit.
- 20:31Speaker 2: You're right, Liberals used to be a good thing. Daniel
- 20:34Speaker 2: Patrick moynihan, Bill Clinton, common sense. Okay, liberals, that's different exactly.
- 20:39Speaker 5: It seems like these people are totally out of their bird.
- 20:44Speaker 5: I mean even look look at all the people that
- 20:48Speaker 5: protested New York. Look Mandam, he's a perfect example. He's
- 20:53Speaker 5: the he's the spawn of this liberal society.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Yeah. No, it started with the universities decades ago. They
- 21:03Speaker 2: became left wing cook and document and doctrination centers, and
- 21:06Speaker 2: you end up with AOC's and mom Donnie's coming out.
- 21:09Speaker 2: I can't who knows what's coming next. I can't even imagine, Vincent,
- 21:13Speaker 2: great call, thanks for calling. Well, usually it turns around,
- 21:16Speaker 2: usually goes in cycles. This has been one very long
- 21:19Speaker 2: cycle here here. Well we'll ask we'll ask Ann Coulter next,
- 21:22Speaker 2: and we'll find out what she thought of the State
- 21:24Speaker 2: of Union speech. And a whole lot more to get
- 21:27Speaker 2: too coming up right after the news On seven to ten, wor.
- 21:31Speaker 6: Mark Simone on sevent ten wor.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Well it is right now the best selling author that
- 21:38Speaker 2: a great columnist and culter. Make sure you're following her
- 21:41Speaker 2: on Twitter even better, Substack where she's got her column
- 21:45Speaker 2: and videos, podcasts, interviews, all kinds of stuff and culter
- 21:48Speaker 2: dot substack dot com and culture.
- 21:52Speaker 6: How you doing fantastic?
- 21:54Speaker 8: How are you mark someone excellent?
- 21:56Speaker 2: I thought the President's speech last night was maybe one
- 21:58Speaker 2: of the top three or four speed ever given.
- 22:02Speaker 8: I totally agree it was magnificent. Again, but Trump I've
- 22:07Speaker 8: been waiting for, and it reminded me what I like
- 22:11Speaker 8: about him. He is just so thoroughly from the heart American.
- 22:17Speaker 8: And when the Democrats would not would not acknowledge Americans
- 22:23Speaker 8: killed by illegal aliens and a few other times, and
- 22:27Speaker 8: he just said, these people are crazy, and you won't
- 22:30Speaker 8: stand for that. It is the reaction of just a
- 22:35Speaker 8: normal human being, a normal American. Anyway, It really illustrates
- 22:39Speaker 8: that that they, the Democrats, really hate our country.
- 22:44Speaker 2: You're talking about this moment here.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Nobody says, up, these people are crazy.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Now, you're not supposed to talk like that when you're
- 22:51Speaker 2: a president. But you're right. It's great. He's a real person.
- 22:54Speaker 2: He's not a politician.
- 22:56Speaker 8: Yes, And I think you're not supposed to root for
- 22:58Speaker 8: Americans to be killed by foreign earth when you're an
- 23:03Speaker 8: elected member of Congress, as long as we're talking about
- 23:06Speaker 8: things you shouldn't do.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Now, a lot of this what he did, were traps
- 23:12Speaker 2: that he was setting for the Democrats, and they've from
- 23:16Speaker 2: last night it wasn't The real purpose of speech was
- 23:19Speaker 2: to get tons of video clips to use in campaign
- 23:22Speaker 2: ads against them in the midterms. How why did they
- 23:25Speaker 2: fall into every trap?
- 23:26Speaker 7: He said?
- 23:29Speaker 8: Uh, if it was a trap, I mean, it just
- 23:31Speaker 8: seems like those are Trump's positions. It didn't seem phony
- 23:38Speaker 8: to me. He keeps pushing for a really hit immigration hard,
- 23:42Speaker 8: which of course was is the reason he was elected
- 23:46Speaker 8: more than anything else, so that's important. And Democrats are
- 23:51Speaker 8: on the other side. So I don't even think I
- 23:56Speaker 8: find it hard to believe that this was like carefully planned.
- 24:00Speaker 2: It was.
- 24:00Speaker 8: It was well, everybody knew that this is what he
- 24:04Speaker 8: ran on, and everybody knew. The Democrats have decided to
- 24:07Speaker 8: oppose basic common sense on that as well as on transgenders. Don't.
- 24:14Speaker 8: I don't know why they. I mean, I guess the
- 24:17Speaker 8: progressive base of the Democratic Party just has them, really
- 24:23Speaker 8: really has a lot of power. Why would they, whether
- 24:26Speaker 8: it's in a State of the Union address or on
- 24:30Speaker 8: the campaign trail or answering questions on TV? Why would
- 24:34Speaker 8: they not be opposed to Ille Lilian's killing Americans? Why
- 24:38Speaker 8: would they? Why would they support these mangol A like
- 24:42Speaker 8: experiments of poisoning and mutilating little little children, teenagers or
- 24:50Speaker 8: anyone really who's decided they're in the wrong gender.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yeah. So, but there's some Democrats who are in that credit.
- 24:58Speaker 2: They're kind of normal, like Tom swaz See, the congressman
- 25:01Speaker 2: from Long you think, a common sense normal. But they
- 25:03Speaker 2: were afraid to stand up. So that was really kind
- 25:06Speaker 2: of sad. A fetterman afraid to stand up. What do
- 25:10Speaker 2: you think?
- 25:10Speaker 8: Well, every time I think one of them is normal,
- 25:14Speaker 8: they then very quickly disabused me of that. I mean,
- 25:18Speaker 8: ro Kanna is supposed to be like mister moderate and
- 25:21Speaker 8: he will not give up on his support for transgenders
- 25:24Speaker 8: in women's sports.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Yeah, And the image of elon Omar shouting and screaming
- 25:30Speaker 2: and pointing her finger and that other nut job next
- 25:32Speaker 2: to her, We're going to see that in a lot
- 25:34Speaker 2: of campaign ads. Aren't we.
- 25:37Speaker 8: I would hope. So, as you know, I'm often complaining
- 25:40Speaker 8: about the ads Republicans run if they do it right, Yes,
- 25:45Speaker 8: I agree with you. They got a lot of good
- 25:47Speaker 8: ones from last night. They should have.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I know it was a great speech because I don't
- 25:51Speaker 2: know if you saw a morning show this morning, but
- 25:52Speaker 2: he was screaming like a maniac and he said it
- 25:56Speaker 2: was the single most racist speech ever given by any American.
- 26:01Speaker 8: Oh, that's fantastic. I did not see it. Sadly, I
- 26:04Speaker 8: was finishing my column last night, so I was up
- 26:07Speaker 8: kind of late and very disappointed. I missed Morning Joe,
- 26:11Speaker 8: So thank you for filling me in that you are right.
- 26:14Speaker 8: That is completely waving the white flag. When they started,
- 26:18Speaker 8: sured in with the it was racist, Well what was racist?
- 26:22Speaker 2: And then he said the idea of using the phrase
- 26:25Speaker 2: Somali pirates, it's the most racist thing.
- 26:28Speaker 8: But this is like the Wuhan virus. I'm with Trump.
- 26:34Speaker 8: These people are crazy.
- 26:36Speaker 2: So but are they crazy or are they just so
- 26:39Speaker 2: caught up with Trump derangement syndrome that they're just not
- 26:42Speaker 2: thinking straight right now?
- 26:45Speaker 8: It seems to be going on and on. I mean,
- 26:47Speaker 8: it's really hard to distinguish what they actually believe from
- 26:51Speaker 8: how much they hate Trump. They could have they could
- 26:57Speaker 8: have maintained at least what they were pretending was their
- 27:01Speaker 8: position on immigration under Obama and Clinton, and that is,
- 27:05Speaker 8: we have to have a border and we have to
- 27:07Speaker 8: deport illegals. I don't know why they couldn't have done that,
- 27:11Speaker 8: But they seem to have latched onto Trump's most popular
- 27:14Speaker 8: policies and oppose him on those. I noticed they don't
- 27:17Speaker 8: particularly oppose him on pointless foreign wars.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Curious that, Well, there's a lot of contracts.
- 27:25Speaker 8: We'll pose him on something he deserves being.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Opposed on, Well, foreign wars. There's a lot of contracts
- 27:31Speaker 2: to hand out the donors, so they don't want to
- 27:32Speaker 2: oppose that. A lot of defense contracts to hand out
- 27:38Speaker 2: on those wars. Hey, but we're talking of this. Before
- 27:41Speaker 2: there were old fashion liberals that were fine. There was
- 27:46Speaker 2: Daniel Patrick moynihan and Bill Clinton, I mean, normal liberals.
- 27:50Speaker 2: What happened to these people are they? Did they just
- 27:52Speaker 2: become extinct? Yes?
- 27:56Speaker 8: Well, I mean it's pretty much everything. Our country is
- 28:00Speaker 8: a function of immigration. We've changed the people there used
- 28:05Speaker 8: to be normal Democrats, you know, among the voting populace.
- 28:08Speaker 8: But I mean Democrats couldn't get a majority of white
- 28:14Speaker 8: people to vote for them other than lbj's blowout in
- 28:19Speaker 8: sixty four, since the nineteen thirties, well since since FDR.
- 28:25Speaker 8: So they had to bring in, bring in ringers. Now
- 28:30Speaker 8: we are a fifty to fifty country, not because Americans
- 28:33Speaker 8: changed their minds or Democrats' arguments were so oh, they're
- 28:36Speaker 8: so clever, they persuaded me. No, they brought in people
- 28:40Speaker 8: from from less free countries who do not believe in
- 28:47Speaker 8: freedom and free speech and capitalism. And they're the ones
- 28:51Speaker 8: who who are filling up the Democrats voting lists. Well,
- 28:56Speaker 8: plus the illegal aliens we aren't supposed.
- 28:58Speaker 3: To be voting.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Yeah, even the normal ones. You know, you go back
- 29:01Speaker 2: ten years, twelve years. Look at the video of the Clintons,
- 29:04Speaker 2: of Chuck Schumer, of Obama. They're all talking about it.
- 29:06Speaker 2: We must have a border. We've got to deport illegals.
- 29:08Speaker 2: And so did they just go nuts.
- 29:11Speaker 8: Or they got foreigners who came to our country don't
- 29:14Speaker 8: believe America should have a border. They don't really care
- 29:18Speaker 8: that much for our country. They certainly don't care for
- 29:21Speaker 8: our traditions, and they certainly can't grasp capitalism, the free market,
- 29:27Speaker 8: or free speech. Oh on guns, Oh my gosh. Polls
- 29:30Speaker 8: have shown this. Incidentally, I've written about this over and
- 29:32Speaker 8: over and over again. That is why the Democratic Party
- 29:36Speaker 8: is changing. That is why Virginia flipped from fairly red
- 29:41Speaker 8: to solid blue. It isn't the government workers, it's the immigrants.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, did you see the snowball attack on cops.
- 29:50Speaker 2: They're getting hit in the face with these snowballs. I'm
- 29:52Speaker 2: sure you saw that. But mom, Donnie said, they're just
- 29:55Speaker 2: a bunch of kids. They all look like thirty five
- 29:58Speaker 2: year old ex convicts.
- 29:59Speaker 8: I mean they didn't look like it's me and yes,
- 30:02Speaker 8: and snowballs made of ice, I mean they can blind you,
- 30:06Speaker 8: they could knock you out. This is this is something
- 30:10Speaker 8: that's always driven me crazy about the liberals love throwing
- 30:14Speaker 8: things in people's faces. Things you don't know what they are.
- 30:16Speaker 8: Anything coming at your face is in fact, it's a
- 30:20Speaker 8: good technique to use in a fight. Throw something at
- 30:23Speaker 8: somebody's face. It's it's frightening you don't know what it is.
- 30:29Speaker 8: And it's always annoyed me that that people will sniff
- 30:32Speaker 8: at Oh, it was just a marshmallow pie or oh,
- 30:35Speaker 8: just a milkshake. Yeah, you don't know what's in it.
- 30:38Speaker 8: It's coming straight at your face. And in this case,
- 30:41Speaker 8: it's very hot, something very hard and capable of doing
- 30:46Speaker 8: enormous damage coming at your face. No, this was I
- 30:49Speaker 8: think a serious assault. I'm with the police union. And
- 30:52Speaker 8: for Monnami to sniff that it was just a snowball fight,
- 30:57Speaker 8: I mean, the only response is to is to subject
- 31:01Speaker 8: mom nommy to just a snowball.
- 31:05Speaker 2: You know, years ago there was that football game. I
- 31:07Speaker 2: forget which team, but they decided to throw snowballs at
- 31:10Speaker 2: the other team, the fans, and they blinded a coach.
- 31:13Speaker 2: He got hit in the face and was blinded by
- 31:15Speaker 2: a snowball.
- 31:16Speaker 8: That's awful, but I'm not at all surprised. Yeah, of
- 31:19Speaker 8: course you could blind someone and and it's irresponsible and
- 31:24Speaker 8: sophistry to say just a snowball, just a pie, you
- 31:29Speaker 8: don't know what's in it. It's something coming at your face.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Sophistry. I like that word. I'm going to use that today.
- 31:34Speaker 2: She always has these words where you can sound very smart.
- 31:39Speaker 2: I'm going to say that to something. Somebody says something
- 31:42Speaker 2: that's just sophistry.
- 31:47Speaker 8: It's deceptive logic.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Just in case, what does sophistry mean?
- 31:51Speaker 8: It's deceptive logic.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Oh, okay, I'm using that word today.
- 31:57Speaker 8: I'm sure there's a better Dictionary death mission of it.
- 32:00Speaker 2: But no, that's very good, the perfect word. Well, that's
- 32:03Speaker 2: why you should read and Coulter and get her books
- 32:05Speaker 2: and make sure you follow her on Twitter, and make
- 32:08Speaker 2: sure you sign up for her substack. There's great stuff, videos, columns,
- 32:12Speaker 2: all sorts of stuff and Culter dot substack dot com
- 32:17Speaker 2: and Culter. Thanks for being with us.
- 32:19Speaker 8: Good to talk to you. Mark Simon, bye bye, all right,
- 32:21Speaker 8: take care.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Oh don't forget Buck and Clay Noon today. Buck has
- 32:25Speaker 2: a new book out by the way, coming out. We'll
- 32:27Speaker 2: talk to He'll be with us later this week and
- 32:30Speaker 2: they'll be talking about the president speech last night at
- 32:33Speaker 2: a new and then three o'clock the most listened to
- 32:35Speaker 2: radio show of all Sean Hannity, we'll talk about it.
- 32:37Speaker 2: And then you got Jesse Kelly at six and Jimmy
- 32:40Speaker 2: Fayal a great show, very funny nine o'clock tonight on
- 32:43Speaker 2: seven to ten. Wor in Mark on demand by setting
- 32:49Speaker 2: up presead for his podcast on the iHeartRadio app.
- 32:53Speaker 7: Now back to Mark Simon on wor.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Well, President's speech considered a great, great State of the
- 33:02Speaker 2: Union speech, very successful. The immediate polling takes place afterwards,
- 33:06Speaker 2: looks very good. The focus groups where they were the
- 33:10Speaker 2: good posters, not the fake ones, but the good posters.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Focus group people showed him getting a spike in independent voters.
- 33:17Speaker 2: That's the key to winning the midterms. You don't win
- 33:19Speaker 2: with your base. You only win by whoever gets the
- 33:21Speaker 2: most of the independent voters. So that's good. Now he's
- 33:24Speaker 2: going to get a big bump from the speech. Problem
- 33:26Speaker 2: is sometimes that bump doesn't last too long. You can
- 33:28Speaker 2: just go a few weeks. But Democrats acted so crazy
- 33:32Speaker 2: last night, and so you know, the yelling, the screaming,
- 33:36Speaker 2: the ugly pointing, and the not standing up. So the
- 33:42Speaker 2: President also ended up with hundreds and hundreds of video
- 33:45Speaker 2: clips that will be used in campaign ads for the
- 33:49Speaker 2: midterms to go after Democrats with Hey, it's thirty five
- 33:53Speaker 2: degrees right now, so the snow is starting to melt.
- 33:55Speaker 2: It's going to go into the forties today. Looks like
- 33:58Speaker 2: it'll be in the forties till months day. That should
- 34:01Speaker 2: get rid of the snow. Now there's a chance of
- 34:03Speaker 2: snow on Monday, but two three inches maybe if that,
- 34:06Speaker 2: if that happens, but otherwise the snow will be melting
- 34:09Speaker 2: every day. Now, Hey, we're out of time. Don't go away.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Buck and Clay are next. I'll be back tomorrow. I'm
- 34:14Speaker 2: here every day ten to noon. Thanks for listening, Thanks
- 34:18Speaker 2: for everything. Talk to you later seven to ten. Woo
