Exodus 23:4–5 (ESV)

“If you meet your enemy’s ox or his donkey going astray, you shall bring it back to him. If you see the donkey of one who hates you lying under its burden, you shall refrain from leaving him with it; you shall rescue it with him.”

In this episode of Daily Devotions, Pastor David Sumrall highlights a surprising call to grace found in the law of Moses. Even in practical instructions about justice and daily conduct, God teaches His people not to let hostility shape their behavior. The Lord calls His people to do what is right, even toward those who oppose them.
