- 5:29of the issue here today. In the course of investigating Lee Harvey Oswald on
- 5:40November the twenty second, nineteen sixty three, we run into several problems with
- 5:46the official story, okay, and I believe the Warrant Commission I realized this
- 5:54as well. So in March eighth, nineteen sixty four, I got a
- 6:00memorandum here from Norman Gredlick, and this is the misters misters all Belan,
- 6:11Hwert, Griffin and Stern all Worn Commission Junior Council. There seems to be
- 6:20considerable uncertainty as to the precise lead which caused the Dallas police to go to
- 6:28Oswald's roomy house at ten twenty six North Beckley. Mists Hubert and Griffin have
- 6:36expressed interest because of the possible implication of Missus Roberts. Mister Stern and I
- 6:44should be concerned with this. In our investigation into the FBI's prior contact with
- 6:47Oswald, we have attempted to discover whether the FBI knew where Oswald was living.
- 6:56It is interesting to note that on page one sixty five with the dp
- 7:00D Report, Commission number eighty one B, Captain Fritz directed various police officers
- 7:06to proceed to the Pain home and to ten twenty six North Beckley at precisely
- 7:13the same time two thirty pm. The police report does not indicate how Fritz
- 7:21was aware that Oswald was living there. If the police officers had not yet
- 7:28reached the Pains by two thirty, then it would appear that the lead to
- 7:32ten twenty six North Beckley would have had to come from some other source other
- 7:38than Rouse Pain. The first interrogation of Oswald occurred at two twenty pm according
- 7:46to Dallas Police Report, page one sixty five, Commission number eighty one B.
- 7:53President of this interrogation where FBI agents book out and hosting one possible source
- 8:00of Oswald's Beckley streetd Desk address. It could have been the FBI agents.
- 8:05Another possible source might have been Missus Roberts, who might have seen Oswald's picture
- 8:09on television, but apparently she didn't identify Oswald until after the police reached her
- 8:16house, at which time she saw a picture of Oswald on television and identified
- 8:20him as oh League. According to a report appearing in Agan Jimberling's Report of
- 8:28November thirtieth, mister A. C. Johnson, the owner of ten twenty
- 8:33sixth North, Beckley, advised the FBI that he had just seen on television
- 8:37a person known to him is oh League, but was identified on television as
- 8:43Lee Oswald. Johnson apparently notified the FBI to this effect on November the twenty
- 8:48second, but we do not know the time. I would think it extremely
- 8:54unlikely that Oswald's picture was on television prior to two thirty. If this is
- 8:58so, then the lead which directed the police to the rooming house could not
- 9:03have come from Johnson's call. I would like to receive any information any of
- 9:07you have concerning this point. All right, So they got a problem,
- 9:15okay? At two forty pm, we Potts, bl Sinkle and Lieutenant Cunningham
- 9:26or dispatched at ten twenty sixth North Beckley. Potts wrote in his after action
- 9:33report that after he finished taking some out for David's Fritz dispatched them to the
- 9:41Beckley Street address at two forty and they arrived at Beckley at three pm.
- 9:50Detective Sinkle also said in his after action report that they arrived at ten twenty
- 9:56six North Beckley at three pm. Now pretty pretty quickly they had established that
- 10:09Oswald had been staying or had the address. When he filled out them what
- 10:24they call it an application for employment, he put down twenty five fifteen West
- 10:30Fistory, Irving, Texas, which is Reef Pain's address. So officers were
- 10:39actually dispatched to Irving first, but because of the forty minute wait at the
- 10:48Irving address, the police actually arrived at Beckley before the Irving address had even
- 10:54been searched. According to UH, they were the finding officers. They did
- 11:01not search the room on Beckley until Detective Turner David Johnston, a Deputy DA
- 11:09Bill Alexander, arrived with a search warrant at four thirty or five pm.
- 11:18So if the police had already been Beckley for thirty minutes before they began to
- 11:22search at Irving to find a telephone number that they Crisp Frost, how did
- 11:26they know about the Beckley roomy house address? So it gets it we get
- 11:37into some very convoluted things here. So what they're referring to there is that
- 11:43allegedly there was some things said that after responding to roof painting address and talking
- 12:01to Ruth Payne, the detectives were given the number, the phone number where
- 12:07they could reach Lee Harvey Oswald. Now they didn't have his address, Bruce
- 12:11Payne or Marina, and they said that they quite simply were given this phone
- 12:18number and that they criss crossed the phone number, searched it and it came
- 12:24up with the address with ten twenty six North Beckley. But if they were
- 12:31dispatched to Irving and Beckley at the same time, and officers were at Beckley
- 12:37for thirty or forty minutes before officers even got to Irving and talk to them
- 12:41and searched and found things, then how in the hell did they originally come
- 12:48up with the fact that Lee Harvey Oswald was staying at the ten twenty sixth
- 12:52North Beckley address well, according to Early and Roberts, who was the landlady.
- 13:03She was first interviewed briefly on November twenty seconds, sometime after two thirty
- 13:07three pm, by the responding officers. She stated she was watching TV when
- 13:13a man known to her as Oh Lee came into the rooming house, got
- 13:16to go from his room and left. He said he was identical to Oswald.
- 13:20When she later saw him TV on November twenty second. She gave him
- 13:24more detailed statement on November twenty seventh and produced a sheet to paper what she
- 13:30says Oswald. Oswald wrote the name oh Lee and she used it to maintain
- 13:33a record of rental payments. So Early and Roberts stating that sometime after two
- 13:43thirty or three she stated she was watching I mean this is when she stays.
- 13:50She was interviewed briefly sorry two thirty or three o'clock m On November the
- 14:07twenty ninth, Missus Roberts stated that she had seen a police car number two
- 14:11O seven drive slowly passed ten twenty sixth North Beckley while Oswald was in his
- 14:18room changing clothes on remember the twenty second It blew it's morn and then proceeded
- 14:22towards Zanga's boulevard. So it would appear that somebody in the DPD knew where
- 14:35Oswald was staying. You know what I'm saying. Now we have a handwritten
- 14:50statement from early Roberts taking on November is twenty second. I'm sorry the fifth
- 15:01day, December five, nineteen sixty three, I Earlene Roberts after being duly
- 15:11sworn due depose in state. I live at ten twenty six Beckley, Dallas,
- 15:20Texas, where I served as a housekeeper for a roomy house owned by
- 15:24mister and Missus A. C. Johnson. On Friday, November twenty second,
- 15:30nineteen sixty three, it approximately one pm. I was sitting in the
- 15:35living room watching TV about the president assassination when a man I knew as oh
- 15:41Lee but who has since been identified as Lee Harvey Oswald came into the front
- 15:48door and went to his room. Oswald did not have a jacket when he
- 15:52came in the house, and I didn't call what type of clothing he was
- 15:56wearing. Oswald went to his room and was only there a few minutes before
- 16:02coming out. I noticed he had a jacket he was putting on. I
- 16:07recalled the jacket was a dark color and it was a tight to the zips
- 16:10up the front. He was ripping the pocket or he was zipping in the
- 16:18jacket up as he left, all right. First of all, it doesn't
- 16:25quite match the light colored gray jacket that was found after the scene the Tippet
- 16:30assassin or a Tippet killing. I recalled the jacket was a dark color.
- 16:37H Oswald went out the front door. A moment later, I looked out
- 16:44the window. I saw the Oswald standing at the curb at the bus stop
- 16:49just to the right and on the same side of the street as our home.
- 16:56I just glanced out the window that once, so I don't know how
- 17:00long Lee Oswald stood at the curb, nor did I see which direction he
- 17:03went when he left there about thirty minutes later. Let me let me reiterate
- 17:14that about thirty minutes later, and this is after Lee Oswald came in the
- 17:22door and left at one oh five. Thirty minutes later, three Dallas policemen
- 17:32came to the house looking for Lee Harvey Oswald. We didn't know who Lee
- 17:38Harvey Oswald was until some time later his picture was flashed on television. I
- 17:47then let the Dallas policeman in the room occupied by Lee Oswald. While the
- 17:53Dallas police were searching the room, two FBI agents came in. The police
- 18:02and FBI agents took everything in the room that belonged to le Oswald, and
- 18:07also took our pillow case and two towels and wash claws. I have made
- 18:15this statement consisting of three pages, to Special Agent William Arterer and Arthur Blake
- 18:21of the US Secret Service. I have read this statement over and I find
- 18:26it to be true to the best of my knowledge. Earling Roberts, all
- 18:33right, so people, interesting things there, folks. The official story,
- 18:40okay, has nobody searching this rooming house until Detective Turner, Detective Johnson,
- 18:51and Deputy da Bill Alexander arrived at a search warrant at four thirty or five
- 18:55pm. What Earling Roberts just told you under oath to the best of her
- 19:04ability, in her Secret Service statement is that thirty minutes after Lee Oswald walked
- 19:18back out that front door, three Dallas police came in. They just talked
- 19:26to them, and she let him search the room. And while they were
- 19:30searching the room, two FBI agents come in and take everything, take everything
- 19:40out of the room, including towels and washcloths and curtains. And this would
- 19:51be all before the house of Wald had even been arrested at the Texas Theater.
- 20:00Why were right abouts at the same time. I mean, you figure
- 20:06half an hour after one o five, one thirty five one, that's when
- 20:11Oswald was arrested at the theater. They hadn't even gotten him down to the
- 20:15damn station yet. They hadn't interrogated him yet, So how did they know
- 20:23I could go to ten twenty six North Beckley. How how could they have
- 20:33possibly known why the smoking mirrors if by this time before two o'clock even happens
- 20:44before the officers even had gotten to Irving, the DPD and the FBI had
- 20:52already been there in search and took everything out of here, and then they
- 20:55show up two hours later with the search warrant. Something definitely smells a little
- 21:03fishy. And the reason I'm paying a little more credence to this statement from
- 21:10Arline Roberts is because it wasn't given to the DPD and it wasn't given to
- 21:14the FBI. It was given to the Secret Service, who wrote down exactly
- 21:19what she said and didn't change anything. So very interesting stuff. Also,
- 21:30it seems very odd to me about this Dallas police car number two h seven
- 21:41showing up at the rooming house while Oswald is changing his clothes. It pulls
- 21:52up, honks his horn twice. Earling Robert glances out the window, sees
- 22:00the number on the cop car. Presumably they see her looking out the window,
- 22:07and they leave. So we come back to right before this happened,
- 22:15Oswald gets dropped off, at least according to the cab records, somewhere in
- 22:22the vicinity of five to seven blocks passed the rooming house, so maybe there
- 22:30was a cock car already there when he tried to go there, and he
- 22:34told the cab driver, um, actually, just can you drop me off
- 22:40my five or seven blocks to keep going. I'll tell you when this is
- 22:45good. Right here, this is a work. So he gets out of
- 22:48the cab and he starts walking slowly towards the rooming house until he sees cop
- 22:53car leave, so then he books the ass. He gets down there,
- 23:00he goes into the rooming house. Maybe the cops that went around the block
- 23:04looking and came back this time they pull up in front of the rooming house
- 23:11while Lee Harvard, unbeknownst to them, Lee Harvey Oswald is in there changing
- 23:15clothes. They pull up, hit the horn twice, you know hawk beak
- 23:22Arline Roberts peeking out through the curtains with her with her goggles on. Seize
- 23:27them, seize the car number. They get spooked and leave, and then
- 23:33we have Oswald waiting out front, supposedly near the bus stop on Zayings.
- 23:44Interesting stuff. Interesting stuff, to think about for sure. At least it's
- 23:48a tip of the hand that we know somebody on the Dallas Police Force knows
- 23:56where Oswald lives already by one pm, a half an hour after President Kennedy's
- 24:04shot. So now we have one of the first instances of degradation towards Earlene
- 24:11Roberts. FBI Rememberandum, Dallas, Texas, March eighteen, nineteen sixty four.
- 24:22On March thirteenth, nineteen sixty four, Missus Gladys Johnson of ten twenty
- 24:26six North Beckley she is the owner an operator of the roomy house at that
- 24:33address. She said she formerly employed Missus Earlene Roberts as a housekeeper at that
- 24:41address. He stated, however, that on Saturday night, March the seventh,
- 24:45nineteen sixty four, Earline Roberts packed her ship and left unexpectedly. That
- 24:52she does not know how her president whereabouts are, but has talked to Earlene
- 24:59Roberts's sister, Bertha Cheek, who informed her that Arline left her employment as
- 25:03a housekeeper because she was jealous of the attention that Missus Johnson paid to an
- 25:11elderly rumor on missing day. That seems like an odd reason to leave and
- 25:25from what I understand, um, it was pretty much all males at these
- 25:33Rube houses. I mean, maybe there was a woman there named Katiege.
- 25:37I don't know. It seems odd to me. That's an odd statement.
- 25:44Odd statement. Oddly enough, there as an exhibit of the below that the
- 26:00President's Commissioned on the Assassination of President Kennedy sent airmail to Missus Earlene Roberts,
- 26:07ten twenty six North Beckley, Dallas, Texas a post mark March twenty seventh,
- 26:12nineteen sixty four. Somebody scratched off the address the route don't live here
- 26:21and stamped on the envelope is eight O nine slash B moved left for no
- 26:27address. Interesting. I got a return to sender by April third. Teams
- 26:38on there as well, and on June eleventh, nineteen sixty four, Las
- 26:45Johnson, owner of ten twenty six North Beckley and proprietor of the rooming house
- 26:48located at that address, advised that Earlene Roberts was formally employed by her as
- 26:53a housekeeper at that address and was so employed there. On November the twenty
- 26:59first, nineteen three, Missus Johnson related that Earling Roberts is fifty nine years
- 27:04old, diabetic, fat, and has a low mentality. Further, she
- 27:11stated the only trip she knows Early and Robert ever takes is to her doctor,
- 27:15which is also located in Dallas, Texas. Johnson advised she does not
- 27:21know where Earling Roberts is pleasantly or presently employed. This with the deposition taken
- 27:29by special agents Switzer, like I said on June nine, nineteen sixty four,
- 27:33in Dallas, Texas. So now the second degradation of Earling Roberts.
- 27:41She's fat, diabetic, and retarded. So I don't know if this is
- 27:51all tryumph to discredit what Earling Roberts has said about anything. It just seems
- 27:59odd behavior. Year. I'm surprised they didn't try to say that she was
- 28:03an alcoholic as well or had severe mental issues, as it is so often
- 28:07the case with a lot of these people that they wanted to discredit in the
- 28:14eyes of the public. So but I guess fat, OBEs and retarded will
- 28:18work as well. So so another way that these officers were possibly at ten
- 28:30twenty six North Beckley as really as they were, Um you know, was
- 28:40did Oswald tell them and when did he tell them? So? According to
- 28:52M. James, hostis hand written and temporaneous note he writes and thank you
- 29:03Bart Baradashman dot com. On eleven twenty second, three fifteen pm, Lho
- 29:12was interviewed by Fritz bookout and Captain somebody can't read it, h Lho.
- 29:25The first thing on here. Lho advised he resided at ten twenty six North
- 29:30Beckley under the name oh Lee, and he was employed with Texas School with
- 29:37Texas Book Depository. That's the first thing on here. So if this is
- 29:45correct, Um three fifteen pm all the firm or told him that he resided
- 29:57at ten twenty six North Beckley. Kay supporting to hostis handwritten notes. Now
- 30:07we looked over to Captain Will Fritz's handwritten's notes Okay has also start off with
- 30:18three fifteen pm dank and goes through didn't own rifle so I wanted the building,
- 30:27mister Trulli and two others Um home bus Gange bridges something about Hostie going
- 30:41to Russia, admits writing Russian Embassy. Hands to Hostie says lived in Russia
- 30:52for three years. Something for worth to Marines says that usual medals claims no
- 31:07political beliefs belongs to a fair play for Cuba, says supports Castro claim second
- 31:17floor poke when officer came in the first floor, had lunch with Bill Shelley
- 31:26in front. Nothing on here, Nothing is on here, writs about living
- 31:37at ten twenty six North Beckley. Nothing that's something we learned from hostis actual
- 31:48official FBI investigation member random from his interrogation of Oswald, which was done its
- 32:02dictated on November twenty third, sixty three. He states this right off the
- 32:10bat. Lee Harvey Oswald, ten twenty six North Beckley, Dallas, Texas
- 32:15was interviewed by Captain Will Fritz with the Homicide Bureau. Special agents Hosting and
- 32:19book Out were present during this interview. When the agents entered the interview room
- 32:23at three fifteen, Captain Fritz had been previously interviewing Oswald for an undetermined period
- 32:29of time. So apparently, according to them, they got there at three
- 32:37fifteen pm and by then Fritz has already been talking to Oswald. Okay,
- 32:47so where's this information? Why is all of a sudden Lee Oswald admitting it
- 32:58in the presence of Hosting okay out to living at ten twenty sixth North Beckley.
- 33:02Is this something he was confronted with by will Fritz and said, Okay,
- 33:07well yeah, that's true. Um. So according to A. C.
- 33:16Johnson's Lawrence mentioned testimony, he says, well, they just came down
- 33:22there and looking for Oswald. Beeling says, oh, what did they say?
- 33:25What his full name was? Johnson? Yes, I believe they did,
- 33:30Lee Harvey Oswald, mister Johnson, I believe they did. Did they
- 33:35say how they happened to come there? Well after he was apprehended out there,
- 33:42they searched him and found my address in his pocket, your address of
- 33:50ten twenty sixth North Beckley. Johnson says, that's right. So where is
- 34:00this scrap of paper with the ten twenty six North Beckley address on it?
- 34:06Never seen it in the official stuff with Oswald? I mean, you know
- 34:12when you search somebody they say he stayed exactly what you found, um,
- 34:17you know, bus transfer, wallet contents, pocket contents. There is no
- 34:24scrap of paper in the official records. It's a ten twenty sixth North Beckley.
- 34:30So this is what they told Ac Johnson as to how they came upon
- 34:35his address. Interesting, So we're talking to detective Bob Carroll who he grabbed
- 34:53Oswald pistol including in his belt and then he drove the car they carried Oswald
- 34:58back to city Hall, and Beeland says, did he give you his name?
- 35:02Carroll says he gave the best I recall. I wasn't able to look
- 35:07closely, but the best I recall he gave two names. I think I
- 35:09don't recall what the other one was. Did he give two names or did
- 35:15someone in the car read that from I d Someone in the car may have
- 35:19read it from my ID. I knew two names the best I recall,
- 35:22were mentioned, or any address is mentioned? Beryl says, no, that's
- 35:27nothing at fall Beeland, did you ever hear anyone say anything about having an
- 35:32address on North Beckley or on Beckley? Ryl says, I heard later,
- 35:39but I couldn't say it was who said it. When you'd say later,
- 35:44you mean later than what Carrol says later that day? Was this after you
- 35:50relinquished custody of Oswell? Yes, up to that time. Had you heard
- 35:54of it there? Well? I don't recall hearing it prior to the time
- 36:00I was in the city hall. Now. According to dus Rose, who
- 36:07was one of the first police officers to talk to Oswald when they arrived at
- 36:10the station, Ball says, did you ask him what his address was?
- 36:15Yes, but from there he wouldn't tell me. He just said, you
- 36:21find out Ball. Now, did anybody ever tell you his address was ten
- 36:27twenty six North Beckley? Roses later they did? Right then they didn't know.
- 36:35Balls says, you didn't know it at that time, Rose, No,
- 36:37I did not, now. No. Detective Richard Simms, who also
- 36:43sat on in Oswald's first interrogation that allegedly began at two twenty pm as soon
- 36:51as he arrived or shortly after arriving at the station, Ball, there was
- 36:58one time there that she learned that he had a room at ten twenty six
- 37:00norths Beckley. And when did you learn that, Simmons? I don't know
- 37:06when that was. Now. That was found out the first day, I
- 37:08believe Ball. Can you tell me whether or not you are the one that
- 37:14found out he had a room at ten twenty six North Beckley. Simms says,
- 37:17no, Sir, I didn't Ball. He didn't tell you that,
- 37:22No, sir, I don't believe he did. Now. On that Friday
- 37:28afternoon, November twenty second, three Dallas police officers and three Dallas County Sheriff's
- 37:32deputies were dispatched to twenty five fifteen West Fifth Street and Irving, Texas.
- 37:38Oswald had been arrested about one fifty pm, arrived at City Hall a little
- 37:44after two pm, and was taken into Captain Fritz's office at two twenty pm.
- 37:51Police officers A. Damn, Check, Rose, and Stove all are
- 37:54unanimous in saying that Captain Fritz dispatched him to Irving at two thirty pm.
- 38:00They were also unanimous in saying that when they arrived at this address, they
- 38:02had to wait for thirty five to forty minutes for the deputy sheriffs who arrived,
- 38:07since Irving was outside their jurisdiction. In his after action report filed with
- 38:14Chief Curry, Gus Rose wrote that after the deputy showed up, they arrived
- 38:21at the front door at three thirty pm. Harry Weatherford, Buddy Walters,
- 38:28and J. L. Oxford where the deputies dispatched to Irving. You can
- 38:32find their accounts in the supplementary reports they file with Sheryl Decker and Volume nineteen
- 38:37of the Warrant Commission Hearingers. Walters, Weatherford, and Decker all said the
- 38:43Ruth Payne gave them a telephone number where Oswald to be reached, and that
- 38:45they criss crossed that number and came up with the Beckley Street address at two
- 38:52forty pm. Hoots, Single and Cunningham were dispatched at ten twenty sixth North
- 38:59Beckley. Hotswrote in his after action report that after he finished taking some Affidavid's,
- 39:06Fritz dispatched them to the Beckley Street address at two forty pm, and
- 39:09they arrived at Beckley a little before three. Detective Sinkole also said in his
- 39:16after action report that they arrived at ten twenty six North Beckley a little before
- 39:22three pm. Oh so, folks, unless Oswald sang like a canary as
- 39:36soon as they had him in the interrogation room, which I doubt. How
- 39:40on the hell did Fritz know where about ten twenty six North Beckley? How
- 39:47how did he know it wasn't from Oswald because he didn't tell them, Hey,
- 39:55it wasn't from Ruth Paine and Marina, because they didn't know it wasn't
- 40:00from the Dallas County Sheriffs, who didn't cris Crosses information until after three pm.
- 40:09Earling Roberts didn't call Dallas please and say hey, I see this guy's
- 40:15picture on TV. He lived here. That didn't happen. So how in
- 40:22the hell Fritz know Oswald's rooming house address. They didn't get it from the
- 40:30FBI, they didn't know. They didn't get it from the job application,
- 40:45from the school book Depository or any of his co workers, because they didn't
- 40:47know about it. So how in the hell did Fritz know about this Beckley
- 41:00treaty addressed? He didn't get it from Frasier. They didn't find Bull Wesley
- 41:05Frasier until almost four o'clock or five o'clock, four or five o'clock that Friday
- 41:12afternoon, and by then there was already officers there. How did he know?
- 41:17How do he know? Well, thankfully the man himself was actually asked
- 41:23us by the Warning Commission. But what did he say? So, for
- 41:37instance, talking to Joseph baul and he says, when I started to talk
- 41:42to this prisoner, maybe just before I started talking to him, some some
- 41:46officer told me outside my office that he had a room on Beckley. I
- 41:52don't know who that officer was. I think we can find out. I
- 41:57have since I talked to you this morning. I have talked to Luke Tennant
- 42:00Baker and he says, I know, maybe who that officer was, but
- 42:02we're just not sure yet. Boss says, was there anything said about where
- 42:09he lived? Where he lived right at that time? Boss says, yes,
- 42:15Fricks, I am sure. I had no way of asking him where
- 42:17he lived, but I'm not too sure about that. Just how quick he
- 42:22told me, because he corrected me. I thought he lived in Irving,
- 42:25and he told me he didn't live in Irving. He lived on Beckley,
- 42:29as the officer had told me outside. So this is what he's seen,
- 42:39so Oswald was. Interrogation began around two twenty FBI agent Hostie, who may
- 42:45have got an Oswald's phone number from Ruth Payne during one of these two visits.
- 42:49It allegedly occurred on November first and fifth, and if Cris crossed the
- 42:53number earlier, did not arrive at Police Head Corps until three fifteen pm.
- 42:59But by then will Fritz already had them. Beckley addressed, find the answer
- 43:06to who that officer was, who gave it to Fritz, and you might
- 43:09begin to learn who, said Oswald. I agree, I wholeheartedly agree.
- 43:22Now Fritz never did supply this mysterious unknown officer who gave him this information shockingly
- 43:30enough, um, But It's then started to believe that maybe, just maybe
- 43:38somebody on the DPD was an undercover military intelligence officer and was fed this information's
- 43:49Wealth Intelligence group. And here is why they think that possibly would be correct.
- 44:02Now, Apparently, when the officers first showed up at the rooming house,
- 44:09they were asking Early and Roberts about Harvey Lee Oswald. Harvey Lee Oswald,
- 44:21not Lee Harvey Oswald. Harvey Lee Oswald. Now, remember when I
- 44:27told you that there were three Dallas County and shared He's dispatched to Irving by
- 44:32weather Third, Buddy Walters, and Jail Oxford. According to Harry Weatherford's supplementary
- 44:42investigation report filed on eleven, twenty three, sixty three, he states,
- 44:46I stayed. I stayed with Missus Oswald and Missus Payne while the rest of
- 44:51the men searched the house. While standing near the phone bar, I saw
- 44:54a black telephone address book which I picked up and thumbed through. Finally O
- 45:00for name of Lee Oswald, Texas school Book Depository and the phone number.
- 45:06Then another phone number, which I believe was written in pencil. I asked
- 45:09what this number was, pointing to the pencil number, and Missus pain and
- 45:13said that that is the phone where Lee was living. I gave this number
- 45:17to Buddy Walters and pulled him to call the sheriff and advising of our findings
- 45:22that this was all fitting in together with the assassination of President Kennedy. Now,
- 45:31from Richard Stovall's Warren Commission testimony concerning the list of items taken out of
- 45:36twenty five West Fifth Street, I've got listed one blue telephone book, not
- 45:42black, And according to Buddy Walter's supplementary investigation report, Missus Payne gave us
- 45:50a phone number and stated that was the number of Lee Oswald. However,
- 45:53she advised she did not know an address where he was staying at this time.
- 45:59I called Decker, advised him with this, and he criss crossed the
- 46:01phone number and gave us an address of ten twenty six North Beckley, and
- 46:06he advised he would dispatch other officers to cover this address. In his Warrant
- 46:12commissioned testimony taken on July twenty third, however, Walters changes the scenario slightly.
- 46:19We didn't go to the trouble of looking at any of this stuff much,
- 46:22just more or less confiscated it at the time, and we looked at
- 46:25it there just like that, and then we took all this stuff and put
- 46:30in the car. And then Missus Pain got a phone number from Missus Oswald
- 46:35where you could call Lee, Harvey Oswald and oak Cliff and from Decker we
- 46:40have a Missus Pin gave Deputy Walters a telephone number where she said that Lee
- 46:46Oswald had been staying had However, she stated that she did not know the
- 46:51address. Officer Walths then called me by a public service giving me this information.
- 46:57Whereupon I had called Alan's Sweat, Chief Criminal Deputy, and Deputy sent
- 47:02Lewis to locate the address by criss cross and also verifying the same through the
- 47:08telephone company. Mister Sweat reported to me that the phone number was at ten
- 47:14twenty six North Beckley. At this time I requested that Johnson, David Johnson,
- 47:19Justice of the Peace, to issue a search warrant to that location for
- 47:22officers to search as premises information was obtained at this address from the landlady to
- 47:29the effect of a man by the name of oh Lee had been living aainst
- 47:31this location for a period of two weeks and not one nine weeks. Okay,
- 47:49so did Ruth Payne volunteer the number, didn't Harry Weatherford find it.
- 47:52Did Ruth Payne get the number from Marina? So there's three different stories here
- 47:59from three different people. It's like this makes no sense. Allan Sweat makes
- 48:07no mention of this, and his supplementary investigation report filed with Sheriff Decker on
- 48:12eleven, twenty three day l Oxford, the other deputy present the supplementary investigation
- 48:19report filed with Sheriff Decker, makes no mention of Ruth pain giving the police
- 48:22Oswald's phone number either. Also, they say they got the north that they
- 48:30got the Beckley Street phone number after the search of the Irving address was underway.
- 48:34However, police had been at the Beckley Street address ro over thirty minutes
- 48:38by this team like we talked about earlier now with the police, and had
- 48:42already been at the Beckley Street address for thirty to forty minutes. So what
- 48:47the fuck is going on here now? According to Bruce Payin's testimony, general
- 48:58directing your attention to mission Exhibit before or two, which is your address book
- 49:01or is there anything on any of the entries which appeared on those pages which
- 49:07relate to the Oswaltz, it's a pain. The one on the left is
- 49:10the police officer who picked up the address book. Those are his initials and
- 49:15dates that he picked it up. It is pain. I don't know who
- 49:20picked it up, and I didn't even notice that it was gone. So
- 49:28she's saying she didn't give him the address book or the number, which adds
- 49:32another layer to the story. So back to will Fritz's testimony before the Warning
- 49:45Commission. If some officer told you he thought this man had a room on
- 49:51Beckley, yes, sir, all had he been had he been brought into
- 49:55the station by that time? Fritz? He it was at the station when
- 50:00when we got there, you know, he was Fritz, yes, sir.
- 50:06But then I talked to him and I asked him where his room was
- 50:09on Beckley. Ball. Then you started to interrogate Oswald, did you,
- 50:15yes, sir Ball, and you called him into your room. There was
- 50:22a weird thing called the Cozy cose I eight apartments he addressed with the thirty
- 50:31six North Beckley, And some might have thought out there that it related to
- 50:43Gary Taylor's Warren commissioned testimony that he thought Oswald was living had the Cozy eight
- 50:47apartments and old dyslexic Oswald screwed up the one three zero six addressed in the
- 50:54thirty six ten um during the two weeks from October nineteenth through November third when
- 51:02Oswald went quote missing. So who in the hell knows? Um? But
- 51:13if anybody out there has any information on how in the hell the Dallas police
- 51:24got this information about Oswald's rooming house before they should have known about it.
