- 0:17Speaker 1: Dads Pop A Team six Welcome to another episode of
- 0:23Speaker 1: For the Dads. Look. The theme of today's episode is disappointment.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I know a lot of parents can probably resonate with this,
- 0:40Speaker 1: whether you have a kid or somebody you feel like
- 0:43Speaker 1: you mentor and one of your kids they do things
- 0:47Speaker 1: that just make you so proud all of the time, Yeah,
- 0:51Speaker 1: all of the time, and you're so happy to be
- 0:55Speaker 1: their parent, and on a rare occasion, they do something
- 1:03Speaker 1: so out of character that catches you so off guard. Yeah,
- 1:10Speaker 1: in a way where you almost you don't know how
- 1:14Speaker 1: to approach this situation because you're not necessarily angered. You
- 1:18Speaker 1: are a little angry, but you're so damn disappointed that
- 1:23Speaker 1: you almost need a minute to yourself before you can
- 1:26Speaker 1: even engage in a conversation and we had that situation
- 1:30Speaker 1: pop up in a big way. Now, I know I'm
- 1:32Speaker 1: hitting a little bit of a monologue right now, but
- 1:34Speaker 1: I think it's important because we had something something like
- 1:37Speaker 1: this happened in our lives earlier. Just this morning, yeah,
- 1:42Speaker 1: just this morning. And we're not even talking parenthood in
- 1:44Speaker 1: this situation. We're talking about for the dads and our
- 1:49Speaker 1: Stemen Team six Captain Chef, Chef. We were coming into
- 1:54Speaker 1: this episode. We are recording right now on a Sunday morning, yeah,
- 1:57Speaker 1: because we have a massive week coming up with some
- 2:00Speaker 1: things we have to do in the shop. So we
- 2:02Speaker 1: were doing Sunday morning and last week we got so
- 2:04Speaker 1: elated at the idea of like, let's hey, let's order
- 2:07Speaker 1: some breakfast. Let's do breakfast burritos, and Deac and I
- 2:11Speaker 1: we get in the think tank with sherham On, like, hey,
- 2:13Speaker 1: which burrito should we do? Should we do the window
- 2:16Speaker 1: at Dos Santo's? Should we do Elegy? Hey? Two hands?
- 2:20Speaker 1: I just ripped a good breakfast burrito. I've had it
- 2:23Speaker 1: there in store or in restaurant, but now I just
- 2:26Speaker 1: had one delivered and it was gas. Check out the
- 2:28Speaker 1: weight of it. Check out the ratios. We have so
- 2:30Speaker 1: many options of breakfast burritos around Nashville. What should we
- 2:34Speaker 1: do because it's going to be awesome. We're gonna drive
- 2:35Speaker 1: camaraderie with the boys.
- 2:36Speaker 2: It's your love language. Well, you love a good breakfast PERIODO.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And I love some good camaraderie. And then out of nowhere,
- 2:45Speaker 1: Chef enters into the conversation and says, let me make
- 2:49Speaker 1: you guys breakfast burritos. But this is chef Jack we're
- 2:52Speaker 1: talking about. This is a guy who's cut his teeth.
- 2:54Speaker 1: His origin story is cooking yep. When listening to this
- 2:57Speaker 1: podcast yep. And we all had a big pause, said,
- 3:00Speaker 1: are you sure we want to go this route? Because
- 3:03Speaker 1: we have dependable the burritos that we're talking about right
- 3:06Speaker 1: now that can get the job done. Chef wanted the challenge.
- 3:09Speaker 1: He wanted the task, and I don't know how many
- 3:11Speaker 1: times we looked at him, and I know the second
- 3:14Speaker 1: guests we had on our faces deeke on, like we
- 3:19Speaker 1: trust that you can make a burrito, but they're right here.
- 3:21Speaker 1: We could just order some, like it's so easy. It
- 3:24Speaker 1: wasn't that we were second guessing Chef. It was that
- 3:26Speaker 1: we were second guessing the simplicity of ordering in twenty
- 3:29Speaker 1: twenty six and the packed weekend he was so excited about.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Yes, it wasn't doubting Chef. The situation a lord towards ordering.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Was the best. And I looked at Chef and I said, Chef,
- 3:43Speaker 1: are you sure you can deliver? I don't want to
- 3:45Speaker 1: put expectation on you, but as far as the right size,
- 3:48Speaker 1: we don't want him too small, not too small, nothing found,
- 3:52Speaker 1: nothing too fine, nothing too found. See, not too small,
- 3:56Speaker 1: not too big, like a Joe Potle burrito, the breakfast ones.
- 3:59Speaker 1: It's got this density to it. Ratios are great. Are
- 4:03Speaker 1: you gonna get the ratios right? Are you gonna have
- 4:04Speaker 1: it wrapped well? Are you gonna have a little crisp
- 4:07Speaker 1: on the outspot on the outside? Are you gonna melt
- 4:09Speaker 1: the cheese a little bit in the middle? What ingredients
- 4:11Speaker 1: are we gonna do? Are you sure you want this
- 4:14Speaker 1: pressure going in this Sunday? And he looked at me
- 4:17Speaker 1: with that straight face right there, and he said, yes, Sir,
- 4:22Speaker 1: I got this. This will be I'll be prepped, I'll
- 4:26Speaker 1: be ready to go, and we're gonna enjoy some burritos.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna bring them. They're gonna be wrapped in foil.
- 4:30Speaker 1: We're like, are you sure you gotta travel a little
- 4:31Speaker 1: bit to get here? Commute a little bit to get here?
- 4:33Speaker 1: Are you gonna keep them hot? He's already thinking coolers.
- 4:36Speaker 1: He was thinking about listen, I got this. I got it.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Then Sunday morning rolls around, driving in. I'm two minutes
- 4:45Speaker 1: away from the shop. I get a call from Chef.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Check pops up on the screen. I'm like, oh, Chef
- 4:49Speaker 1: doesn't necessarily call me a whole lot. Usually it's a
- 4:52Speaker 1: text message. Hit it up, Chef, good morning. How we doing? Man?
- 4:55Speaker 1: We go back and forth, and he was like, Hey,
- 4:57Speaker 1: what would you like to order? We're about to do
- 5:00Speaker 1: order breakfast burritos? Where would you like to get a
- 5:02Speaker 1: breakfast breakfast burrito? From? To which I responded, I thought
- 5:07Speaker 1: you were making breakfast burritos. Uh, well, hey, something kind
- 5:12Speaker 1: of went sideways. We're going to order. Is there one
- 5:15Speaker 1: in particular that you'd like? Try to keep the vibes up.
- 5:18Speaker 1: He's trying to keep the focus the priority on getting
- 5:20Speaker 1: burritos to the shop. I said, probably, I'll be there
- 5:22Speaker 1: in two minutes. We can talk about it there.
- 5:26Speaker 2: And we can run that tape. I did record that
- 5:28Speaker 2: phone call.
- 5:34Speaker 1: It's a boss man, don't do man. We're all at
- 5:38Speaker 1: this shop ordering breakfast. Do you anything I thought you
- 5:44Speaker 1: were making? I was going to and I think we're
- 5:49Speaker 1: gonna wait until.
- 5:56Speaker 4: There, okay, because I thought it would be good to
- 6:06Speaker 4: be able to retrospectively look back on it.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I walk in the door. You're sitting to the left
- 6:13Speaker 1: where you are sitting right now, Chef and is in
- 6:16Speaker 1: his spot. The lights are on Deeke sitting in that
- 6:19Speaker 1: chair over there, his hoodies up over his face, the
- 6:22Speaker 1: hoodies tied. Because he knows like we had a we
- 6:26Speaker 1: had a big slip up today and Chef didn't prepare.
- 6:32Speaker 1: He wasn't ready. He blamed his old man a lot.
- 6:35Speaker 1: And he also said, and then he also said, no excuses.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I have no excuses. I'm not gonna bullshit you. I
- 6:41Speaker 1: did a poor job planning for this morning. It's like
- 6:44Speaker 1: we know.
- 6:46Speaker 2: He came out and just stated the facts. Good apology,
- 6:52Speaker 2: good about.
- 6:52Speaker 1: The team's coordinator of mine, Rich Rich Bisacia. So you
- 6:56Speaker 1: know the two worst words you can say playing football,
- 7:02Speaker 1: watching film? You know those two worst words. Sure, I'm sorry,
- 7:06Speaker 1: my bad, Oh, I'm sorry. Okay, that's my fault. I
- 7:10Speaker 1: fucked up. You had no shit. You gotta eliminate the
- 7:14Speaker 1: shit to get your beat chef, And this is the
- 7:18Speaker 1: moment to tie it all into disappointment. It's not that
- 7:21Speaker 1: we're mad, I don't think by any sense, no one's mad. Disappointed.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Not because there's a few fuck ups that happened. One
- 7:29Speaker 1: he didn't deliver on the burritos, but the second one
- 7:32Speaker 1: and just as big. When you woke up this morning
- 7:34Speaker 1: and knew you couldn't get the burritos rolling, that's where
- 7:37Speaker 1: you have to communicate and hit the chat. I'm not hey, guys,
- 7:41Speaker 1: I messed up. Whether it's a voice message, whether it's
- 7:43Speaker 1: a big whether it's a big text, I messed up.
- 7:46Speaker 1: It's not gonna be able to get done. How do
- 7:48Speaker 1: we order ahead of time so we still got burritos
- 7:50Speaker 1: in our hands this end of the day versus waiting
- 7:53Speaker 1: for the entire world to fall on you. And now
- 7:55Speaker 1: Deeke's walking in the door. We got burritos, and we're
- 7:57Speaker 1: gonna have to take a time out so we can
- 7:58Speaker 1: eat these burritos right now. This is I don't even
- 8:03Speaker 1: know if that was a question.
- 8:04Speaker 3: I feel more bad for Charro who talked to you
- 8:07Speaker 3: about breakfast this morning, thinking she was being a loving wife,
- 8:09Speaker 3: and you said yes, I.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Said, sweetheart, Chef is making burritos for us this morning,
- 8:16Speaker 1: and honestly, I can't wait, so I don't want my
- 8:18Speaker 1: stomach to be too full whatsoever, because I am fired
- 8:22Speaker 1: up to taste Chef's burritos. That is a true story,
- 8:25Speaker 1: not the pilot to make you feel worse. That was
- 8:27Speaker 1: a real thing.
- 8:29Speaker 2: And just from my from my side of things, we're
- 8:34Speaker 2: all a team here being Will's teammate and walking in
- 8:39Speaker 2: and vibes are hide this morning. Vibes are high. You
- 8:42Speaker 2: got you brought coffees. I got coffees, You got me.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I'm bringing Lucy Nicotine tea by Lucy Nicotines. Vibes are high,
- 8:52Speaker 2: and all of a sudden it hits me once I
- 8:57Speaker 2: get here. I had forgotten about said britoz. And then
- 9:00Speaker 2: it hits me, and I started belly laughing because I
- 9:05Speaker 2: knew what this would mean to William Earle Copton the third.
- 9:09Speaker 2: I started belly laughing because I knew that this was
- 9:13Speaker 2: cataclysmic in the world will Compton, that Chef was not
- 9:18Speaker 2: gonna have breakfast for ritos.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I walked in and.
- 9:22Speaker 5: Derek goes, hey, by the way, like it's gonna be rough,
- 9:26Speaker 5: and I go, I know, I I so like Will said,
- 9:34Speaker 5: I didn't blame the old man, but I kind of
- 9:36Speaker 5: told you your dad.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I said he was in the way this morning.
- 9:40Speaker 5: I started off by saying, hey, there is no excuse
- 9:43Speaker 5: for this, and then you're like, what happened? And I
- 9:45Speaker 5: told you what happened, And then I had to read
- 9:47Speaker 5: area It's like, that's not the that's not an excuse. No,
- 9:51Speaker 5: it's just made a promise and gave a word about
- 9:56Speaker 5: I would do something. And then before like thinking of
- 9:59Speaker 5: the con texts of hey, you're in a wedding this weekend, Hey,
- 10:03Speaker 5: that might take up your whole weekend, like, hey you
- 10:06Speaker 5: might need a prep.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Hey do you have tortillas at home? Didn't even do tortillas?
- 10:12Speaker 1: Well that's why else we would have breakfast briders. Right now,
- 10:14Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying, Like even the prep didn't go
- 10:16Speaker 1: into it. Because what's crazy about the whole thing is
- 10:21Speaker 1: you weren't even thought about to deliver on these breakfast burritos.
- 10:23Speaker 1: We had the soul already ready to go and then
- 10:26Speaker 1: you just come in out And I wanted to make
- 10:27Speaker 1: the want to.
- 10:28Speaker 5: I wanted to be the guy that stepped up and
- 10:30Speaker 5: made a play, pissed down my leg.
- 10:35Speaker 2: He wants to be great, though you hear you, hear
- 10:38Speaker 2: him satan. I see it in the office. He wants
- 10:42Speaker 2: to be great. I know that deep down inside he
- 10:47Speaker 2: hates this situation and he does want to fix it.
- 10:51Speaker 2: He'd be pitched tomorrow and he wants to be great.
- 10:55Speaker 2: He wants to prove himself with the breadth. But you
- 10:57Speaker 2: got to understand, Yeah, I'm with you. That is what's
- 11:00Speaker 2: painful about the whole thing. But it's almost like if
- 11:02Speaker 2: we talk football, if we talk ball, analogy right here.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, this is a guy who came up on Friday,
- 11:08Speaker 1: the night before a game and said, coach, this is
- 11:12Speaker 1: the trick play. We got to run in this.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Same way full back. This is Jeff Simons, a fullback.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Chef kills it at his position. He goes, Coach, I've
- 11:19Speaker 3: been thinking of a different play. I kind of want
- 11:21Speaker 3: to try it.
- 11:22Speaker 1: And all the court airs and coaches are already standing
- 11:24Speaker 1: in his staff and a player comes out of nowhere
- 11:26Speaker 1: and says, I swear to God, put me in on
- 11:30Speaker 1: this play, and we're going to score this play right here,
- 11:34Speaker 1: and we all kind of just put the sword down,
- 11:36Speaker 1: you know what. We need to listen to our players.
- 11:38Speaker 1: And he's not a can't get right guy, so it's
- 11:40Speaker 1: even more he's even more so we got that look
- 11:44Speaker 1: in his eyes. Let's do it. And next day day
- 11:46Speaker 1: of the game, we're in four minute, we're on the
- 11:50Speaker 1: forty five yard line of forty yard line. We're in
- 11:52Speaker 1: that fringe and this is the play that comes up
- 11:55Speaker 1: to where we can throw this trick play in. We
- 11:57Speaker 1: know what they're going to be and this is where
- 11:58Speaker 1: we score. We need a defensive guy to be ready
- 12:01Speaker 1: to go on the field. We call the play, we
- 12:03Speaker 1: call the personnel, we call everything, and then quarterback is
- 12:06Speaker 1: looking over the sideline where chef he's not. We're we
- 12:09Speaker 1: don't have eleven in the huddle, and everybody's yelling on
- 12:12Speaker 1: side chef, Chef, chef, and he's sitting on the bench
- 12:15Speaker 1: talking to some of his buddies with his helmet. Yeah,
- 12:18Speaker 1: you can't find his helmet. Chef, you're in. This is
- 12:21Speaker 1: the play? What the fuck, man? This is the play
- 12:22Speaker 1: that we were talking about. A breakfast burrito, and we
- 12:26Speaker 1: either have to take a delay a game or burner
- 12:28Speaker 1: time out, which pushes us could push us out of
- 12:31Speaker 1: field goal range.
- 12:34Speaker 6: We burnt the time out, but we scored, like we
- 12:37Speaker 6: did score on a regular play. Did we burnt the
- 12:40Speaker 6: time out?
- 12:40Speaker 1: But that's okay. We got two more. We went back
- 12:42Speaker 1: to the guy who was calling the place in the
- 12:44Speaker 1: first place. No, I'm not being a part of that.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I'm not doing that.
- 12:48Speaker 6: We just scored. Chef was there when we scored. He
- 12:51Speaker 6: celebrated with us. I'm not being a part of that.
- 12:54Speaker 6: Whatever you're creating.
- 12:56Speaker 2: That was also Deac and I told Chef, oh, buddy,
- 13:00Speaker 2: we just want you to know we're gonna be team
- 13:02Speaker 2: Chef because you're gonna eat it.
- 13:05Speaker 7: You know.
- 13:07Speaker 5: The crazier part is that we almost ordered food without
- 13:10Speaker 5: telling Will. First we were about to order, I go,
- 13:13Speaker 5: wait a second, you got I need to call Will
- 13:17Speaker 5: at this exact moment and just get it, like, let's
- 13:19Speaker 5: get the let's rip the band aid before we try
- 13:22Speaker 5: to order food.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And I did try, what's a boss, man? How are
- 13:27Speaker 1: we doing?
- 13:28Speaker 5: Man? Like you want to you wanna, Hey, we're gonna
- 13:31Speaker 5: order food, just trying to like see if maybe I
- 13:33Speaker 5: could just buy a miracle.
- 13:34Speaker 2: You just forget please, please run the tape of that
- 13:38Speaker 2: book called like right here.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Oh you have you any put it on speaker.
- 13:46Speaker 6: Oh yeah, you were, you were gonna cook the silence
- 13:49Speaker 6: that that took.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Place before your well what happened to you cooking breakfast food?
- 13:57Speaker 2: Jeff has like eight chins going.
- 14:01Speaker 5: Like the worst, the worst probably go yeah, we're not
- 14:08Speaker 5: gonna I think it's gonna be it tomorrow thing, but
- 14:11Speaker 5: uh yeah, anything you want, I'll be here in two minutes.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Oh my god. Welcome for the dads. Welcome for the dads.
- 14:25Speaker 1: That breakfast brito that we just ordered. I don't know
- 14:27Speaker 1: what that place is. Santos Santos, incredible breakfast window. You
- 14:32Speaker 1: walk up, you get the burritos. They got a few
- 14:34Speaker 1: different options as far as burrito goes. They have a
- 14:36Speaker 1: little bowl you can get awesome spot. If you're in Nashville,
- 14:39Speaker 1: go hit up Dos Santos. On the weekends, we take
- 14:42Speaker 1: a little break and enjoy our Do Santos and the
- 14:45Speaker 1: great episode coming up doesn't have to be fon have
- 14:48Speaker 1: to be fani. Uh yeah, we gotta take a quick bread.
- 14:51Speaker 1: We gotta eat these burritos. I'm salivating. I just want
- 14:54Speaker 1: to give we want to give people a quick look
- 14:56Speaker 1: into what what's kind of unfolded because at the end
- 14:59Speaker 1: of the episode, this disappointment. We'll be back after this
- 15:05Speaker 1: breakfast burrito. A matter of fact, if you're new here, subscribe.
- 15:07Speaker 1: We got to remind people, hey, this is for the dads.
- 15:09Speaker 1: They didn't just come here to hear burritos story. Yeah, yeah, yeah, subscribe.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Follow us on all channels. We love to engage with
- 15:14Speaker 1: the community. We got shoutouts, dat x, community wins, losses,
- 15:18Speaker 1: everything in between follow ups. I saw one, I saw
- 15:23Speaker 1: you know where he witnesses that empty eclip. We'll wait,
- 15:26Speaker 1: We'll wait to read that comment. We'll wait to read
- 15:28Speaker 1: that comment. We will uh, we'll be right back because
- 15:32Speaker 1: and it'll pretty much be a second because we'll just
- 15:34Speaker 1: edit it too. We're back. Minor setback for a major comeback.
- 15:37Speaker 1: This ship will get fixed. Minor setback for a major comeback.
- 15:41Speaker 1: I can't wait to watch it. We all believe in you.
- 15:43Speaker 1: You are the guy. Thank you, but we got we
- 15:45Speaker 1: had to bust balls.
- 15:47Speaker 5: Yeah and I take that. I'll take it on the
- 15:48Speaker 5: chin any day. I know you because I you know me,
- 15:51Speaker 5: no one's no one's more. I know you take it
- 15:53Speaker 5: in myself.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Dude, let's dive in. We got a lot of community
- 15:59Speaker 1: engagement here. Fun stuff happened over the weekend. Some wins, bro,
- 16:04Speaker 1: the girls, my daughters sit out at their grandparents for
- 16:07Speaker 1: the first time ever. That's big shift yet because we
- 16:13Speaker 1: had the dinner party, yes, where we had we hosted
- 16:16Speaker 1: some people over. Phenomenal time, by the way, we can
- 16:18Speaker 1: dive into that, but a massive wind having the grandparents
- 16:22Speaker 1: watch the kiddos and them sleep over at their house.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Like we were a little nervous, like, how's ru gonna
- 16:27Speaker 1: how's we gonna response? She was super sad when we
- 16:29Speaker 1: were leaving all that kind of stuff, but we knew,
- 16:31Speaker 1: like once we could get home and you have the
- 16:33Speaker 1: entire space to yourself, Bro, you're just kind of operating
- 16:38Speaker 1: however you operate like the time if you can remember
- 16:41Speaker 1: the days before you had kids, when it's just a
- 16:43Speaker 1: little bit more. You had a lot more peace and
- 16:45Speaker 1: quiet when the dinner party was done, Like, we don't
- 16:49Speaker 1: have to go upstairs, we don't have to check on
- 16:50Speaker 1: the kids. We don't have to we don't have to
- 16:52Speaker 1: do anything. We just go to bed, then you wake
- 16:55Speaker 1: up in the morning. Mane. We could just slowly get
- 16:56Speaker 1: out of it. We can operate however we want to operate.
- 16:58Speaker 2: No wonder, empty nets stairs get bored so quickly. They're
- 17:04Speaker 2: just sitting there going what there's not something constantly going
- 17:07Speaker 2: on in my living room or a kitchen anymore?
- 17:10Speaker 1: What? Yeah, But we got a lot of funny comments,
- 17:13Speaker 1: a lot of funny right. INDs. We have some questions
- 17:16Speaker 1: out there. Also. We had a DM or a message
- 17:19Speaker 1: from a gentleman saying, our dad hats the Camo ones
- 17:22Speaker 1: that you're ripping right now? What about the girl Dad ones?
- 17:25Speaker 1: Girl Dad is the one that is sold out right now.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Camo Girl Dad has sold out. There are a few
- 17:30Speaker 1: a few Dad Kamo ones left. If you are wanting
- 17:33Speaker 1: a cameo hat, go to bwtv dot com and make
- 17:37Speaker 1: sure you get one. It's awesome that we sold out
- 17:40Speaker 1: of the Camo Girl Dad ones. We had a lot
- 17:43Speaker 1: of them. Yep, we are looking in we'll get those restocked.
- 17:45Speaker 1: We will get those restocked. We can't tell you when
- 17:48Speaker 1: that will be, but just know that we're looking into it.
- 17:50Speaker 1: We're working on it. But if you guys want any
- 17:52Speaker 1: of our merch, we had a new drop happened yesterday
- 17:55Speaker 1: as you're listening to this episode on Wednesday. We had
- 17:56Speaker 1: a new drop happened yesterday. A lot of our busts
- 17:59Speaker 1: and football centric merches out bwtv dot com. It's a
- 18:04Speaker 1: way for you guys to support the show. It's a
- 18:05Speaker 1: way for you guys to at yourself into PT six eternity.
- 18:10Speaker 2: One funny story about those cameo hats. Did you see
- 18:14Speaker 2: my promo where I was promoting the dad hats and
- 18:19Speaker 2: my buddy Harrison Fox I call him Foxy. He's a
- 18:22Speaker 2: college buddy big Hunter. Happened to FaceTime me. Yeah, while
- 18:25Speaker 2: I was promo in it.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Added layer to that.
- 18:29Speaker 2: I have an epic dad group text with Foxy and
- 18:35Speaker 2: your boy Jordan Roos. No shit, they train at the
- 18:40Speaker 2: same Harrison Fox met Jordan Rus at this MMA thing,
- 18:46Speaker 2: this MMA like training facility where they both do a
- 18:50Speaker 2: bunch of training and work out there together. They become
- 18:52Speaker 2: friends on their own and then they both go, oh shit,
- 18:56Speaker 2: you know Will really well, oh shit, you know Sherman
- 18:59Speaker 2: really well. And now I'm just in a group text with.
- 19:02Speaker 1: You know, they're just you know, they're just lifting Jordan's
- 19:07Speaker 1: strong as ship.
- 19:08Speaker 2: The pictures that they send into that group from there,
- 19:11Speaker 2: so like Jordan will just send in unsolicited stuff of
- 19:14Speaker 2: him beating the ship out of people. What's the thing
- 19:18Speaker 2: where it's like mostly all legs and they have like
- 19:20Speaker 2: kickbox robes on kickboxing, not qutoxing white tie. Yeah, he's
- 19:26Speaker 2: kind of like jiu jitsu, jiu jitsu. It is jiu jitsu, bro.
- 19:30Speaker 2: This little jiu jitsu guys like trying to do something
- 19:32Speaker 2: on Jordan, and you could tell that the little jiu
- 19:35Speaker 2: jitsu guys like better at jiu jitsu than Jordan, but
- 19:38Speaker 2: Jordan's more athletic and way stronger than way strong.
- 19:43Speaker 8: This guy is.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Trying to do this move on him and has his
- 19:46Speaker 2: uh you know, kimono or whatever is gee. He has
- 19:50Speaker 2: his gee and he's like doing this and Jordan straight
- 19:52Speaker 2: up picks him off the ground. And you could just
- 19:55Speaker 2: hear somebody they're in a big gymnasium with the mats.
- 19:58Speaker 2: You just hear somebody in the background go.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Careful, careful.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Just Jordan just slams the guy and the guy gets
- 20:05Speaker 2: back up because the ref.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Like, you know, it's like here reset reset.
- 20:08Speaker 8: That guy's like, oh what the fuck did I just
- 20:13Speaker 8: sign up for? But uh, we were geek they were
- 20:18Speaker 8: geeking out about the camera hats in that grip text
- 20:21Speaker 8: like that the boys were fired up about the camera.
- 20:24Speaker 1: The Camo hats are gas. Man, The Camo hats are gas,
- 20:27Speaker 1: and they're only gonna become more of a piece to
- 20:30Speaker 1: have come fall time, when hunting season rolls around. So
- 20:33Speaker 1: make sure when this next when we do get restocked again,
- 20:35Speaker 1: a few more left in the dead ones, but we
- 20:37Speaker 1: when we do get restocked, make sure you get your
- 20:40Speaker 1: hands on them early, yep, because we'll get a lot.
- 20:43Speaker 1: We'll restock a lot until they're gone. Speaking of hunting,
- 20:48Speaker 1: I had to follow up from last week by Himothy
- 20:53Speaker 1: Swag on Spotify. Love the Spotify comments. Man, love the
- 20:58Speaker 1: Spotify comments, but with the Swag first of his name,
- 21:02Speaker 1: wrote in guys easy with the shooting dog Stalk major
- 21:08Speaker 1: HEDSD and flashbacks from watching my uncle empty a clip
- 21:13Speaker 1: on a hunting dog bro. I read that the day
- 21:16Speaker 1: that that the day the episode dropped, and I.
- 21:18Speaker 9: Was like, oh my god, man, so fucked, so fucked,
- 21:31Speaker 9: so fucked up.
- 21:33Speaker 1: You know, there's a there's people out there too that's
- 21:38Speaker 1: so pro animal that can't even laugh at what we're
- 21:40Speaker 1: laughing about. And they're questioning why we're laughing at that bro.
- 21:43Speaker 2: No, like that guy actually has PTSD. Dude, that's fucked up.
- 21:53Speaker 2: You're just seven. Your dad's like, oh uncle, we've been
- 21:57Speaker 2: that way. Man gonna you know, don't don't talk to
- 22:02Speaker 2: little don't look at him.
- 22:03Speaker 1: I wouldn't look him at the eye. You know, you
- 22:06Speaker 1: you always had a screw looser, you did.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Wait till he gets a bolly pop in and he calmed, Dad,
- 22:12Speaker 2: he'll be good, he'll be good.
- 22:14Speaker 1: All right. I got one DV Nail on Spotify. Chef.
- 22:20Speaker 1: The fish don't care if it's raining.
- 22:22Speaker 2: They're already wet. Lock it down and go catching, not fishing.
- 22:27Speaker 2: When it's raining, it's the best time to go.
- 22:30Speaker 1: It wasn't the it wasn't the rain.
- 22:32Speaker 5: It was the lightning, huge strike hit And I don't
- 22:35Speaker 5: I don't get on water with lightning, dB Nail. But
- 22:39Speaker 5: that is true. The water Usually the rain is the
- 22:41Speaker 5: best time because it cools off. Fish are going.
- 22:44Speaker 1: They're deep. They're deep when it's hot out and they
- 22:45Speaker 1: get in the shower.
- 22:47Speaker 2: You know what dB Nail just said watching this episode
- 22:49Speaker 2: right now, said yes, chef, Yes.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Chef hit the bomb and the bomb from Venture Rangel, Rangel,
- 22:58Speaker 1: who knows. Of course, Willie didn't know what are you
- 23:00Speaker 1: saying until after the pod release Hit the Bong Boys
- 23:03Speaker 1: and then Hunter Robinson, the APR for Hit the Bong
- 23:07Speaker 1: has me dying again from last week, Can't Stop, Left
- 23:11Speaker 1: the Bong, Hit the Bong.
- 23:14Speaker 2: John Thomas and It's jakeare on YouTube and Spotify. So
- 23:20Speaker 2: John Thomas rights, I'm calling it now based on Schurm's
- 23:23Speaker 2: hesitation about buying a house down the road. I think
- 23:27Speaker 2: Jilly beanis prego. It's Jacare on YouTube said calling it
- 23:32Speaker 2: right here, right now. Jill is pregnant. I see it
- 23:35Speaker 2: in Shirm's face.
- 23:38Speaker 3: I wouldn't have put that on there if it wasn't
- 23:40Speaker 3: two separate people on two separate platforms time stamping the
- 23:43Speaker 3: exact same moment when you were stumbling around houses.
- 23:46Speaker 1: In the call to.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Sack, I will say they are a good reader of people. However,
- 23:53Speaker 2: Jill is not pregnant. The uh what I was pressing
- 23:58Speaker 2: pause on because I just didn't want to dive into
- 24:01Speaker 2: the whole thing is the idea of a number two.
- 24:05Speaker 2: The conversations of a number two. Those are happening where
- 24:10Speaker 2: you know, there's conversations we're not trying, we're not pregnant.
- 24:15Speaker 2: But that was the landmine that they one hundred read
- 24:19Speaker 2: correctly of me being like, because once you know, we'd
- 24:23Speaker 2: love to have a house with baby number two, and
- 24:25Speaker 2: blah blah blah, that's what I was looking to, buddy.
- 24:27Speaker 2: I thought you were setting that up and you were
- 24:28Speaker 2: about to drop No, nolled it. The fans did call
- 24:34Speaker 2: that baby number two was on the tip of my tongue.
- 24:37Speaker 1: But if we are not pregnant, we are not nine.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Months from last week. If we come back, I will
- 24:42Speaker 3: send those two people merch if there's a baby nine
- 24:44Speaker 3: months from last week.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Oh and hey, that I mean shockwave, shockwave, shockwave.
- 24:51Speaker 1: I was gonna ask. I was gonna ask. You said
- 24:53Speaker 1: you're not You're good. Yeah, you said you're not trying.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Yes, we're not actively uh going yeah yeah yeah.
- 25:03Speaker 1: But are you not not trying? We're not not trying. Goal,
- 25:08Speaker 1: we're shock waving.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Yeah, we're having a living you're living back in the
- 25:13Speaker 2: st six days yeah, a little bit, yeah, a little bit.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Goal is goal is just not to have two under
- 25:21Speaker 2: two is what we have told ourselves.
- 25:24Speaker 1: But you guys aren't actively seeking buds training, not actively
- 25:29Speaker 1: seeking buds training just for the love of the game.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Man Nick Lane here on Spotify pains me that old
- 25:35Speaker 1: Willy one Hilf doesn't understand the satisfaction of cracking a cold,
- 25:38Speaker 1: refreshing hollipop after mowing the lawn. Don't be a bitch
- 25:42Speaker 1: and cut your grass, brother, w W c D. What
- 25:45Speaker 1: would Carlos do? Oh, Carlos, it doesn't have to be
- 25:50Speaker 1: got a line in my lawn? So it's light. A
- 25:55Speaker 1: comeback is dark? Light? It dark light? It's dark? Does
- 26:00Speaker 1: I have to be fancy though? Ollipop? Oi?
- 26:04Speaker 2: What is Carlos's favorite flavorite of ollipop? And Carlos, I
- 26:09Speaker 2: listened to your voicemail like nine times the very beginning
- 26:12Speaker 2: to try and because I'm making a clip about Carlos.
- 26:15Speaker 1: That naturally after after a calling like that.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Uh that I'm trying to get where he was from.
- 26:21Speaker 2: And it sounded like he said a why, And I'm like,
- 26:24Speaker 2: did peril way get like cut off at the very
- 26:28Speaker 2: beginning and it's just the Hawaii or your why? And
- 26:33Speaker 2: so it's like, hey, man, where are you from, Carlos?
- 26:36Speaker 1: Hawaii? Why?
- 26:37Speaker 2: Where's a why?
- 26:38Speaker 1: Don't know?
- 26:38Speaker 5: Why?
- 26:40Speaker 1: Find out? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I have a from true.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I love this and by the way, I do know
- 26:46Speaker 1: the satisfaction. Uh maybe not exactly an ollipop, but having
- 26:52Speaker 1: a cold one after you mow your lawn like I
- 26:55Speaker 1: mowed the fucking loan back in the day. Hey, his grandparents.
- 27:00Speaker 1: It's used to pay them to moad their damn lawn
- 27:02Speaker 1: back in the day, twenty bucks a cut. He used
- 27:05Speaker 1: to be out in the hot Missouri sun during the
- 27:08Speaker 1: summer and with tediously labor over his grandparents lawn. He
- 27:13Speaker 1: knows what it's all about. He's experienced it and did
- 27:16Speaker 1: our own yard for free because our parents didn't give
- 27:18Speaker 1: us money. Cody and I would, would you know, one
- 27:22Speaker 1: on one off like we'd we'd switch it up every week.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Que I mowed the fucking lawn, all right. I've operated
- 27:28Speaker 1: on his he turn, I've operated on a bushmower. I've
- 27:30Speaker 1: mowed the lawn. It's not in the cards anymore. Que
- 27:33Speaker 1: Nick saban, I'm not gonna do it, so quit asking.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Okay, it's not gonna happen. He's not mowing his lawn,
- 27:39Speaker 2: thank you. Sure you're welcome. God pays me good bitch
- 27:43Speaker 2: my lawn. I've mowed the lawn. I ain't doing it anymore?
- 27:47Speaker 2: Will I saw I saw your front yard last night.
- 27:49Speaker 2: By the way, you know what's just gonna make him
- 27:52Speaker 2: fucking sick. Immaculate, Thank you, looks incredible local landscaping businesses.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Putting money in their pockets. People talk about the unemployed
- 28:02Speaker 1: eployment rate. Not around my area, no, sir, godly people
- 28:08Speaker 1: helping people.
- 28:09Speaker 5: Man, Come on, man, well as a kid, were you
- 28:12Speaker 5: at pushing over push?
- 28:14Speaker 1: Oh? Yeah, I mean my old man got me operating
- 28:18Speaker 1: when I could hit the middle bar and start pushing.
- 28:20Speaker 5: Because your friends who are like, yeah, I got to
- 28:22Speaker 5: mow the lawn, you're right, but you have a zero turn.
- 28:24Speaker 5: I know you have a zero turn. That's not yeah,
- 28:26Speaker 5: you get to hang out and ride the Lawnmo.
- 28:28Speaker 1: You need to write something. We're over here. We're over
- 28:30Speaker 1: here slaving away on a push mower.
- 28:32Speaker 5: On.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Oh, I bet Willy c he's ever done a pulsar bower.
- 28:37Speaker 2: He's never ripped a chord before.
- 28:39Speaker 1: He's ever done that.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Q Early two thousand, State of Willy c Out in
- 28:47Speaker 2: the fright yard.
- 28:49Speaker 1: We don't have video evidence of that back in the day.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Get a little choke on there. Get the joke. Did
- 28:55Speaker 1: you did you pump it through. You push the button
- 28:57Speaker 1: three times, you pump it three times, gets without oil?
- 28:59Speaker 1: Is there? Did you prime it up? That's what I thought.
- 29:03Speaker 1: You just had watch that. Let me try it. I'm
- 29:07Speaker 1: a little bit stronger than the truth.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Big Papa had a show stopper comment on Spotify. True
- 29:17Speaker 2: Big Papa says, time for my daily dose of Jill
- 29:20Speaker 2: versus sure.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Which guys?
- 29:25Speaker 2: It has felt that way these last four weeks. I
- 29:29Speaker 2: would say it has felt that way, But I have
- 29:34Speaker 2: a dad win. I'll keep it short. Will do you
- 29:38Speaker 2: mind asking me what my dad lost this week?
- 29:41Speaker 5: Is?
- 29:41Speaker 1: Sherman? If you had a dad lost this weekend, what
- 29:46Speaker 1: would it have been? Don't have one?
- 29:50Speaker 2: Oh, let me think for a second.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Don't have one. You kind of did a public public
- 29:55Speaker 1: service announcement at the dinner party last night. It was
- 29:59Speaker 1: a bit of a dad like, hey, bad communication on
- 30:01Speaker 1: my party, Like you had to own you had to
- 30:04Speaker 1: take full responsible.
- 30:05Speaker 2: I tell you, yes, I was told to make an announcement.
- 30:11Speaker 2: My wife did stand by my side and hold my hand,
- 30:13Speaker 2: through said, but she was like, go stand in the fire.
- 30:16Speaker 2: She said, go explain to our gracious host why we
- 30:18Speaker 2: are leaving. Arguably an hour and a half early. I'm guessing, like,
- 30:24Speaker 2: did the festivities continue for another hour?
- 30:26Speaker 1: Festival festivities concluded at probably close to ten o'clock, round
- 30:33Speaker 1: ten o'clock.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Oh okay, so not like super super bad, but yeah,
- 30:36Speaker 2: like an hour, yeah, an hour, hour and some change
- 30:39Speaker 2: hour and hours and change.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Yeah, you'd have been back home before eleven. Yeah.
- 30:43Speaker 3: For those of us not invited to Will's party, can
- 30:46Speaker 3: you explain what the announcement was?
- 30:49Speaker 1: Deep? Great question.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Uh, I'll die and so uh we got we got
- 30:55Speaker 2: two more follow ups out.
- 30:56Speaker 1: I'll go ahead, hurry up, dive into it, dive into it. Okay, Well,
- 30:59Speaker 1: I sit here uncomfortable. Was the party fun? Christmas party
- 31:02Speaker 1: is all over again? Was fun?
- 31:04Speaker 2: And so we are invited to Will Compton's house for
- 31:10Speaker 2: a dinner party slash game night. It had an evite
- 31:16Speaker 2: with a very beautiful card. I noticed that our names
- 31:21Speaker 2: on the tables for our seating chart and the menu
- 31:25Speaker 2: matched the EVI invitation. Well done, Chara, Yes and Will No?
- 31:31Speaker 7: No?
- 31:32Speaker 1: I had no. Okay, I'm learning about what a dinner
- 31:34Speaker 1: party even was. Yes, because I thought we were just
- 31:38Speaker 1: having game night. We're gonna have some food, so I
- 31:39Speaker 1: let people know, Hey, we're gonna have dinner. Yes, we're games.
- 31:43Speaker 2: That's the most that I felt like my parents, Because
- 31:46Speaker 2: my parents we had a great street when I was
- 31:51Speaker 2: like a little kid of couples around their age that
- 31:54Speaker 2: they had a lot of dinner party game nights with
- 31:57Speaker 2: the couples in the street and would host at our house,
- 32:00Speaker 2: you know, like it would kind of switch you was hosting,
- 32:03Speaker 2: And they hosted pretty regularly at our house.
- 32:06Speaker 1: And I remember being five.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Six seven in the kitchen as these like couples are
- 32:13Speaker 2: coming in. I get to say hi to everybody before
- 32:15Speaker 2: I go to bed, and like hearing laughter and stuff downstairs.
- 32:18Speaker 2: So I very much felt like my parents, Like I
- 32:22Speaker 2: felt like an adult of a parent at your house.
- 32:26Speaker 2: It was fun, It was very It brought back some
- 32:29Speaker 2: good memories of my childhood.
- 32:31Speaker 1: However, like you're ripping in an adult thing for one
- 32:35Speaker 1: of the first times.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Yes, and Jill and I off need to make time
- 32:40Speaker 2: for ourselves to like do date nights, et cetera.
- 32:43Speaker 1: We are very starved for that.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Last night checked so many boxes it's not even funny.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Will had some couple friends that are local Nashvillians. Our
- 32:57Speaker 2: couple friends, old neighbors of the past. I got to
- 33:01Speaker 2: meet the neighbor that allowed Rude to go down the
- 33:04Speaker 2: water slide in Argentina, and I got his POV of
- 33:10Speaker 2: that story. He told me about how his heart sank
- 33:14Speaker 2: as he looked over at the bars and sees you
- 33:16Speaker 2: at the bob going don't send her and knowing in
- 33:18Speaker 2: his head the part of the story that we got
- 33:20Speaker 2: that we did get on the pod. He didn't just
- 33:22Speaker 2: let her go down the slide. He said, hey, do
- 33:25Speaker 2: you want me to.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Push you down? Give you a little boost buster, and
- 33:30Speaker 1: then leans over the rails.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Just watch her come out and sees Dad down there
- 33:33Speaker 2: going don't send her down the slide and knowing fool
- 33:38Speaker 2: well she was about three quarters of the way down. Yeah,
- 33:44Speaker 2: Will picked which you can go into that with the
- 33:48Speaker 2: seating arrangement, because I thought the seating arrangement was done
- 33:52Speaker 2: very well.
- 33:53Speaker 1: People were nervous about the seating arrangement. Got some text
- 33:56Speaker 1: from the old neighbor group chat like, hey, Will, what's
- 33:59Speaker 1: the sea chart look like? Don't screw me over, I'm
- 34:02Speaker 1: getting nervous. Is this like a you know what kind
- 34:05Speaker 1: of vitamins do I need to be on for this?
- 34:08Speaker 1: For this dinner party?
- 34:09Speaker 2: I knew full well what it was like to play
- 34:11Speaker 2: on the same football team as Will Compton. Because going
- 34:15Speaker 2: into the dinner party, I'm put into a group text
- 34:17Speaker 2: with Josh Pay where Will is giving us a scouting
- 34:20Speaker 2: report on every single guy that we will be meeting.
- 34:23Speaker 1: There a breakdown.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Some of their strengths, some of their weaknesses. Where can
- 34:27Speaker 2: we attack with conversation. I was like, dude, if you
- 34:31Speaker 2: played on a defense with Will Compton, you don't know
- 34:33Speaker 2: what the offense is running that Sunday, I don't know
- 34:36Speaker 2: what to tell you.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Get to know him well, but also get to know
- 34:39Speaker 1: the enemy because when we go into games this allies,
- 34:43Speaker 1: I expect this group right here to come out on
- 34:45Speaker 1: top of whatever we're doing. Yes, and.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Walked in immediately saw Josh Pay and his wife. They
- 34:52Speaker 2: were his wife is lovely. Yes, Savannah, Savannah. We got
- 34:57Speaker 2: to talk ball with Savannah, like right off the she
- 35:00Speaker 2: loves Lord of the Rings. So you know what Savannah
- 35:03Speaker 2: and I talked about for fifteen minutes straight. Jill ran
- 35:08Speaker 2: off and just I didn't talk to Jill the whole night.
- 35:11Speaker 2: I didn't talk to Jill the whole night because she
- 35:14Speaker 2: was meeting all the wives, all the ladies that were there.
- 35:18Speaker 2: The ladies were just gabbing. The way Will have the
- 35:21Speaker 2: table split up, as it was like girl right here
- 35:24Speaker 2: and guy right here sitting across from each other. And
- 35:28Speaker 2: then the guys and the girls like are kind of
- 35:30Speaker 2: spread out throughout the table, so you have all the
- 35:33Speaker 2: guys over here, all the girls over here, but yet
- 35:37Speaker 2: we're still at the same table. And the way it
- 35:39Speaker 2: was checkered conversation was incredible. Had Amy to my left,
- 35:43Speaker 2: Doug's wife right, she was fabulous. Set you next to
- 35:47Speaker 2: Josh Pate, Set me next to Josh Pate. Josh and
- 35:50Speaker 2: I were like giggling at the table because we were
- 35:53Speaker 2: trying to decide whether or not it was rude at
- 35:55Speaker 2: a dinner party to go for seconds, because nobody was
- 35:58Speaker 2: going for seconds yet.
- 36:00Speaker 1: And then we're all learning about how whoever, Like as
- 36:02Speaker 1: you're passing the family style around, the person next to
- 36:05Speaker 1: you holds the plate while the person gets it all
- 36:08Speaker 1: from oh oh Hey, and then I take the ball
- 36:10Speaker 1: from his name's Doug. I take the ball from Hey,
- 36:12Speaker 1: let me get that. I gotta hold this for you.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Because Doug was sitting there doing this and Will's like
- 36:16Speaker 2: he wait, wait.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Wait, they're saying the etiquette for dinner parties. I gotta
- 36:19Speaker 1: hold this for you. Chari was probably at the other
- 36:22Speaker 1: side of the table. That's good, that's good. Yeah, a
- 36:27Speaker 1: couple of ladies who are who are experienced in dinner
- 36:29Speaker 1: parties like this is what happens. Oh my fault, dude.
- 36:33Speaker 1: It was so it was so much fun and the
- 36:35Speaker 1: guys being guys, just like making fun of it but
- 36:37Speaker 1: also doing it.
- 36:38Speaker 3: Favorite part of the whole story so far is that
- 36:39Speaker 3: Charro is planning an intricate dinner party with color coordinating evites,
- 36:44Speaker 3: and you're building alliances.
- 36:45Speaker 1: For the game portion.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Very seriously, so like not joking around either. Which was
- 36:54Speaker 2: such a stab and rip that we had to leave early.
- 36:58Speaker 2: And this is nothing on our babysitter. We had difficulty
- 37:02Speaker 2: landing childcare for the night, and someone that wasn't available
- 37:07Speaker 2: at first became available, but with like a stricter time limit,
- 37:12Speaker 2: and I thought a nine point thirty send off would
- 37:16Speaker 2: be okay, like we would still be able.
- 37:18Speaker 1: But dinner ran long. It's a dinner party, like it
- 37:21Speaker 1: was a long dinner in a good way. I was
- 37:24Speaker 1: telling Charlotte too, because I was a point of contention
- 37:27Speaker 1: when we were getting it all lined up. When I'm
- 37:29Speaker 1: learning about what a dinner party is, and I'm like,
- 37:32Speaker 1: I've been telling the boys, like I've been telling them
- 37:34Speaker 1: that we're gonna have dinner and we're gonna be playing games,
- 37:37Speaker 1: Like I'm thinking of this as like a game night.
- 37:38Speaker 1: She's like, well, we are doing games, but like we're
- 37:41Speaker 1: gonna be sitting and having dinner and everything else. And
- 37:43Speaker 1: I'm like, well, I want to be playing games more
- 37:45Speaker 1: than we're eating dinner. But conversations were flowing, like it
- 37:49Speaker 1: all worked out. I was Sharm's like, hey, psa, we
- 37:53Speaker 1: got to take off babysitter. We got the babysitter until
- 37:56Speaker 1: nine thirty. Sum lives an hour away. She lives about
- 38:00Speaker 1: an hour away. So I'm thinking of my brain like
- 38:04Speaker 1: you were always gonna have to leave at eight thirty.
- 38:06Speaker 1: I need you. I need you in my earpiece saying like, hey,
- 38:08Speaker 1: when we get in, the games going, because we're talking
- 38:10Speaker 1: games at the dinner. We were we're talking games at dinner.
- 38:15Speaker 2: We're talking Williamson County Fair versus Wilson County Fair.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we uh.
- 38:21Speaker 2: There was a lot of dad talk going around that table,
- 38:24Speaker 2: a lot of.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Good dad talk. But it wasn't like so you think
- 38:26Speaker 1: of how II cause I spent a good thirty minutes
- 38:28Speaker 1: setting up the seating chart for this dinner party. I
- 38:30Speaker 1: told my wife, I said, hey, sweetheart, let me I'm
- 38:32Speaker 1: gonna throw a couple of rough drafts out there, and
- 38:34Speaker 1: nothing is gonna be written in pen This is all
- 38:36Speaker 1: in pencil pencil right now.
- 38:37Speaker 2: But let me operate a little bit, let me cook.
- 38:40Speaker 1: And so it wasn't like, think of the long table
- 38:42Speaker 1: and on the on the ends, it's rounded, right. It
- 38:45Speaker 1: wasn't split down the middle, guys and girls. You need
- 38:48Speaker 1: to get some engagement going, so think of it like split,
- 38:52Speaker 1: but then rotated a little bit. What I went with
- 38:54Speaker 1: is Charle and I would be at the head, Yeah,
- 38:56Speaker 1: would be at each head because and then in my
- 38:58Speaker 1: brain it was which couples would be the most comfortable
- 39:02Speaker 1: on this night, with the range of people that were having,
- 39:04Speaker 1: which couples would be the most comfortable not sitting with
- 39:07Speaker 1: their not sitting with their husband and wives, not sitting
- 39:09Speaker 1: with each other, their significant other, as you could say,
- 39:13Speaker 1: So meet the head, Charlotte, the head, two of the
- 39:15Speaker 1: closer ones next to us, and then I put my ace.
- 39:18Speaker 1: It's like Okay, We're gonna put Sheram and Jill, Josh
- 39:21Speaker 1: and Savannah. Josh Savannah hadn't met anybody. They know you,
- 39:25Speaker 1: and you know Josh, but you don't know the other
- 39:27Speaker 1: couples that are coming in the old neighbors. Rue's best
- 39:29Speaker 1: friend's parents.
- 39:31Speaker 2: Had met Savannah that night, had met Savannah until that night.
- 39:34Speaker 1: But we're gonna put that those two groupings the shram
- 39:38Speaker 1: Jill Peyte Savannah kind of in the middle. They're gonna
- 39:42Speaker 1: get to see their other, not straight ahead, but a
- 39:45Speaker 1: little to the left. And I'm gonna set Sherman Peyton
- 39:49Speaker 1: next to each other so they're comfortable, and then give
- 39:52Speaker 1: them a couple options that I know are good conversationalists.
- 39:55Speaker 1: My Ace, Brian Paler, former neighbor. He's the Ace. He's
- 40:00Speaker 1: one anybody I love this guy. He's not only interesting,
- 40:03Speaker 1: but he's interested. He's interested more than he is interesting.
- 40:07Speaker 1: He doesn't have socials. He's fascinated by the life we
- 40:10Speaker 1: get to live by like anybody gets to live to
- 40:12Speaker 1: where he's a good conversationalist. I'm gonna place him next
- 40:16Speaker 1: to Savannah, across from Josh Bate, but also in the
- 40:19Speaker 1: vicinity of Sherman Young as Brian can also sit close
- 40:22Speaker 1: to me because I know he wants. We wanted to
- 40:24Speaker 1: sit close to each other. Brian is a MF gangster dude.
- 40:27Speaker 1: You want to talk about a guy that can talk
- 40:28Speaker 1: about anything. He's breaking down Williamson County versus Wilson County
- 40:32Speaker 1: Fair with uh with Will and I go, I go, Brian,
- 40:37Speaker 1: you know what one of my favorite parts of the
- 40:39Speaker 1: Williamson County Fair was they really they prioritize agriculture.
- 40:44Speaker 2: It wasn't just the rides, he goes, dude, exactly, it's
- 40:47Speaker 2: not a cash scrap. I'm not going in there doing tickets.
- 40:50Speaker 2: I get to learn a little bit about the local livestock,
- 40:53Speaker 2: some of the local agriculture. I was like, this guy,
- 40:56Speaker 2: this guy Ginson, he can get he can talk anything,
- 41:00Speaker 2: bro anything, anything. But it was because Brian was like,
- 41:04Speaker 2: will don't do me wrong. In the group chat, I
- 41:06Speaker 2: was like, buddy, this is my Mona, Lisa, this is
- 41:09Speaker 2: my Mona. Lisa's shaping this together and the unfolded well
- 41:12Speaker 2: that unfolded beautifully. It felt see and I had a
- 41:15Speaker 2: good hug after everybody left, like yeah, we did it
- 41:18Speaker 2: because it's our first time like that was our first
- 41:20Speaker 2: dinner party.
- 41:21Speaker 1: That's my first dinner party. I kind of just learned
- 41:23Speaker 1: what a dinner party was that week. But we hugged
- 41:26Speaker 1: to the point to where when she walks around, I'm like, hey,
- 41:28Speaker 1: we have a free house. Where's your freak meter? At
- 41:30Speaker 1: tonight it did happen, but I felt comfortable to be like, hey,
- 41:35Speaker 1: were we there a line at the Shockwave? Let's go see.
- 41:38Speaker 2: You know, we just stopped done doing Texas Giant with
- 41:40Speaker 2: dinner party?
- 41:41Speaker 1: What Shockwave? We talked to Williamson County a fair ticket lines.
- 41:45Speaker 1: I want to buy the unlimited. I want to buy
- 41:47Speaker 1: the limited back back you know all the kids, which
- 41:52Speaker 1: was a breadth of fresh air. Man like having all
- 41:55Speaker 1: you guys over now went a deeke over there, said
- 41:57Speaker 1: some of us who didn't get invited. Yes, don't think
- 42:00Speaker 1: about Josh, Pat Josh him and Savanah somebody. We wanted
- 42:03Speaker 1: to get into the equation for a while. We've always
- 42:05Speaker 1: talked about we got to get and we got to
- 42:07Speaker 1: get people together. I knew Josh was coming into one
- 42:09Speaker 1: where it's a wide range of people. Then he doesn't know.
- 42:11Speaker 1: He seemed to have loved the range m but The
- 42:15Speaker 1: biggest thing was like kids kids. There were a couple
- 42:19Speaker 1: of like clumps were invited. Lawans were invited, but they
- 42:21Speaker 1: have a newborn. So I knew that was gonna be
- 42:23Speaker 1: tough because they're kind of on the newborn. It's just
- 42:26Speaker 1: gonna be harder postpartums going on. I'm not saying like
- 42:29Speaker 1: that's a bad thing good. There's just there's a lot
- 42:31Speaker 1: of moving parts to where I let them know. I
- 42:33Speaker 1: completely understand if you tell me no, but I want
- 42:36Speaker 1: you to know we love to have you guys. Josh
- 42:39Speaker 1: also was the kids. It was the kid can I
- 42:41Speaker 1: get to give you three? Three incident?
- 42:42Speaker 3: And got thoughts thought number one, you know what a
- 42:44Speaker 3: dinner party is because you've seen Widow's Bay.
- 42:48Speaker 1: The dinner party yeah yeah, yeah, where she.
- 42:50Speaker 3: Ended up having the antlers on her head and she
- 42:52Speaker 3: was feeding everywhere.
- 42:53Speaker 1: But that's also like a party. That's a party, right,
- 42:57Speaker 1: that's a full on party, like DTIMI sit down dans all.
- 43:00Speaker 3: The thought shit two I had is I was not
- 43:03Speaker 3: asking to make fun of your friend you. I couldn't
- 43:05Speaker 3: have attended, Chef couldn't have attended. We don't have kids.
- 43:07Speaker 3: We're outside of that realm. So you feeling bad is
- 43:10Speaker 3: louder than me asking the question. I want you to
- 43:11Speaker 3: know it's okay and I love you. Thought number three
- 43:14Speaker 3: watching you wax hooidic as you say about the alignment
- 43:18Speaker 3: of the table, lets me know how proud we are
- 43:21Speaker 3: of the stupid tasks our women give us, how serious
- 43:24Speaker 3: we take the task of just hey, can you fill
- 43:26Speaker 3: out this page of the coloring book?
- 43:28Speaker 1: Fuck? Yeah? What colors? Like?
- 43:29Speaker 3: I got this shit down. It was very It's very
- 43:32Speaker 3: funny to see the side of it. But you did good.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Oh, thank you, thank you the way that I did
- 43:36Speaker 2: the table. If you look, you got your like most
- 43:41Speaker 2: tables are gonna be a rectangle, let's just say that.
- 43:46Speaker 1: But even from the hosting perspective, knowing that there were,
- 43:50Speaker 1: it was a wide range. Again, like when I was
- 43:53Speaker 1: giving a very piece together toast.
- 43:56Speaker 2: You did a good dude, Gay's toast. Talk about your toast. Yeah,
- 44:01Speaker 2: talk about your toast.
- 44:02Speaker 1: But as far as like some of the pressures of
- 44:04Speaker 1: having people over that don't necessarily know each other. They're
- 44:07Speaker 1: all here for unique reasons on which we love them,
- 44:11Speaker 1: and they all get to know each other. There was
- 44:13Speaker 1: some of that pressure. As I'm piecing this moment Lisa together.
- 44:16Speaker 1: I want to get it right because I want everybody
- 44:18Speaker 1: to leave feeling like they had a good time around
- 44:20Speaker 1: people that they had just met for the first time.
- 44:23Speaker 1: You were because you know what I mean, you got
- 44:24Speaker 1: somebody you love that you're that you're close with. You
- 44:27Speaker 1: got another person another ways, you're right that you love
- 44:29Speaker 1: what you're close with. You don't want to put so
- 44:31Speaker 1: much lacker on that damn thing to where you're forcing
- 44:33Speaker 1: them to connect and they go away loving like hey
- 44:36Speaker 1: what'd you think of? Sure, Hey, what'd you say? They're great? Right,
- 44:38Speaker 1: They're like, yeah, I use a little and you're like fuck.
- 44:40Speaker 1: But they need to get them to know each other
- 44:42Speaker 1: the way I know them. Yeah, naturally.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Dad Hack flip on that if nobody would have talked
- 44:46Speaker 3: at the table, that just means the food was really good.
- 44:50Speaker 3: So if you would have failed and you put people
- 44:52Speaker 3: next to each other, I'm talking, all that would have
- 44:54Speaker 3: meant is that the food was so good nobody was talking,
- 44:56Speaker 3: So you win either way there. But it sounds like
- 44:59Speaker 3: you did really, really, really good.
- 45:01Speaker 5: He was breaking down the table dimensions and how it
- 45:03Speaker 5: was like it was a it's a rectangle, but it's
- 45:06Speaker 5: like a little curve because so it's like an intimate table.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 45:11Speaker 3: I started it looked like a compact but not crowded,
- 45:16Speaker 3: very spread out, but also intimate table.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Yeah, intimate but had room to cut my steak with
- 45:22Speaker 2: the elbows exactly type of vibe.
- 45:25Speaker 1: We had to be creative because that's really truly an
- 45:26Speaker 1: eight person table and we had twelve there. Yeah you didn't,
- 45:29Speaker 1: but you faced that twelve there. Yeah, yeah, out of here, dude.
- 45:32Speaker 2: Yeah, wow, you the mona Lisa if you will. Hey, Also,
- 45:37Speaker 2: what is your song that everybody was saying was your song?
- 45:41Speaker 2: Because I was not aware before that night that that
- 45:43Speaker 2: was your song?
- 45:44Speaker 1: What song the song that was playing during your toast
- 45:46Speaker 1: and your wonderful wife Charles, Oh, I don't even know.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Somebody made a joke that while the toast was happening,
- 45:51Speaker 1: a song was playing in the background and it came
- 45:54Speaker 1: at a nice slow ending as I ended the toe.
- 45:57Speaker 2: Okay, so that was not truly you, No, I don't think,
- 45:59Speaker 2: so okay, host time, so Will they're like, will, your
- 46:04Speaker 2: song's on?
- 46:05Speaker 1: It's your song? And Will's like, oh really.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Like and I like hear the song and it's it's
- 46:11Speaker 2: truly something like free falling, like Tom Patty, I don't
- 46:14Speaker 2: know who knows, who knows.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Droid came over to me earlier. I was like, Hey,
- 46:17Speaker 1: this would be a good time to give a toast.
- 46:19Speaker 1: I was like, what he did, you mean give it toast?
- 46:21Speaker 1: I don't want to give it toast, Charles, you know what.
- 46:23Speaker 1: I'm uncomfortable talking in front of everybody like that.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Charles on the other side of the table, like a
- 46:28Speaker 2: parent that is so proud of their kid, like without
- 46:33Speaker 2: this motion right here, her face.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Is is just like, oh, he's about to do it.
- 46:38Speaker 1: He's about to do it.
- 46:38Speaker 2: As she looked at me and she's like yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 46:41Speaker 2: And I caught her saying that to you, So then
- 46:45Speaker 2: I look over at you talking back to her and
- 46:47Speaker 2: being like oh yeah, yeah yeah.
- 46:49Speaker 1: And he picks up his wineglasses and it starts going,
- 46:55Speaker 1: and Savannah kept talking, and I just kept leaning in
- 46:59Speaker 1: a little bit more to yeah, yeah, yeah, y Savannah.
- 47:01Speaker 1: I'm trying to say a few words here, and.
- 47:03Speaker 2: A hush fell a hush fell as free Falling is
- 47:07Speaker 2: playing in the background softly, and Will just as he
- 47:12Speaker 2: does say waxed poetically about the night, brought up the
- 47:16Speaker 2: fact that he did plan the seating chart and was
- 47:20Speaker 2: very happy with how the seating chart had been working.
- 47:24Speaker 2: And you talked about couples getting together people that you
- 47:29Speaker 2: and Charles specifically love getting to meet each other. How
- 47:32Speaker 2: important that was to y'all, And thank you for coming.
- 47:36Speaker 2: You kept it very concise in a good way.
- 47:40Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 47:41Speaker 2: It was a well done, well done toast.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, sure at the end, because she laughed in
- 47:44Speaker 1: the middle of it, and Lee, I think the toast
- 47:49Speaker 1: went She's like, she started laughing. She's like, I thought
- 47:51Speaker 1: you did a good job, except for the one comment
- 47:53Speaker 1: you made where it's like we felt legally obligated to
- 47:57Speaker 1: invite the couple that we met at the coffee shop.
- 47:59Speaker 1: That was Doug in a Oh, that was a funny job,
- 48:01Speaker 1: That's what I thought. That was like a job. I
- 48:03Speaker 1: was going with a little bit of funny there. I
- 48:04Speaker 1: didn't know if they would feel anything like, you're not
- 48:06Speaker 1: here because we just feel obligated to invite you. We
- 48:08Speaker 1: met you at a coffee shop. Hit it off, Yeah,
- 48:10Speaker 1: we go to birthday parties now, Yeah, I'm just thinking, naturally,
- 48:13Speaker 1: you meet a couple at a coffee shop, you're now
- 48:15Speaker 1: legally binded to invite each other to That was a
- 48:18Speaker 1: different That was a.
- 48:19Speaker 2: Funny joke, and Doug laughed at it.
- 48:22Speaker 1: Good.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Doug laughed at it.
- 48:24Speaker 1: Because you know, when you're giving a little speech, you're
- 48:25Speaker 1: kind of just you don't see anything else. You kind
- 48:28Speaker 1: of just I got, like, you know, nerves. Deeke is
- 48:30Speaker 1: like a natural speaker, Like I always have to feel
- 48:33Speaker 1: a little prepped and prepared, which I wasn't in this one.
- 48:35Speaker 1: And then when I'm not, I'm very much nervous, like
- 48:38Speaker 1: when I'm speaking.
- 48:39Speaker 2: And I don't know if you plan specifically to have
- 48:42Speaker 2: Amy next to me, if there was any type of
- 48:45Speaker 2: thought there.
- 48:47Speaker 1: The thought was I knew having the position that we had,
- 48:50Speaker 1: especially with Brian again you talk about your race in
- 48:52Speaker 1: the whole. Yeah, and I knew Chorro sitting next to
- 48:55Speaker 1: Megan and Chelsea who she's super close with Amy not
- 49:00Speaker 1: as close, and then Jill across from Amy. I just
- 49:04Speaker 1: knew it would all you guys would flourish the point
- 49:07Speaker 1: that Amy sitting next to you would just be It
- 49:09Speaker 1: would be seamless.
- 49:10Speaker 2: Because Amy ripped to the degree, dude, like crazy amount
- 49:16Speaker 2: of ripping coming from Amy, who I had never met before.
- 49:20Speaker 2: She knows nothing about me or my wife. And that
- 49:23Speaker 2: was a fun little triangle throughout the night of us
- 49:26Speaker 2: all kind of sitting there, and it started with, Hey,
- 49:30Speaker 2: you got the same name as my mom, so I'm
- 49:32Speaker 2: probably not gonna forget your name tonight. And then she
- 49:35Speaker 2: and then she kept thought of bringing up the same
- 49:38Speaker 2: joke of like, throughout conversation, we'd been just talking about
- 49:42Speaker 2: our family, and uh, that's what you call a simple
- 49:46Speaker 2: layup layup, because I'd bring up my mom and she
- 49:48Speaker 2: would go, oh, Amy. Of course I was like, yes, Amy, Amy,
- 49:52Speaker 2: jump a little bit.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Like you.
- 49:56Speaker 2: Yes, Or she would tell a story about herself and
- 49:57Speaker 2: she'd be like other Amy, other Amy, not herman's mom,
- 50:00Speaker 2: and be like she was funny.
- 50:02Speaker 1: She was very in the success of it too. It's
- 50:04Speaker 1: it's knowing, uh, like thanking them all for being there,
- 50:07Speaker 1: but knowing like what goes into couples. It's like you
- 50:10Speaker 1: experiencing getting a night out and not being with your kids,
- 50:13Speaker 1: not having to check your phone at all times, seeing
- 50:16Speaker 1: what's going on, having that like because you had to
- 50:18Speaker 1: go through a roll dexit. It's like everybody's kind of
- 50:20Speaker 1: got rosters of childcare sitters. But the fact that it
- 50:22Speaker 1: was all the fact that it was all put together
- 50:25Speaker 1: and everybody was able to execute and be there what
- 50:29Speaker 1: you got. You should hear me, I know bad ideas.
- 50:32Speaker 3: You should follow up with each couple about if they
- 50:34Speaker 3: felt like their seat at the table was appropriately placed.
- 50:36Speaker 1: I'd like do a Google form.
- 50:38Speaker 6: Or like something like that where it's like, hey, you
- 50:40Speaker 6: just want to review the night and get then the
- 50:41Speaker 6: review of the night just comes from where they were sitting.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Yeah, nothing else. That's what you should follow because clearly,
- 50:46Speaker 1: as I articulate, every moment I get to talk about
- 50:49Speaker 1: the seating chart, I took it very seriously.
- 50:50Speaker 3: You guys should also throw another dinner party where you
- 50:52Speaker 3: flip rolls so Charles can see how hard it is
- 50:55Speaker 3: to make the seating chart.
- 50:56Speaker 1: She was stressing about all this shit she had to do,
- 50:58Speaker 1: and I was like, buddy, put together that seating chort
- 51:03Speaker 1: like you think, oh, you think your little cards and
- 51:04Speaker 1: everything else made it successful at the seating chart? Can
- 51:09Speaker 1: I also bring up Charro's Charro's.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Ability to swoop in at the perfect time. I saw
- 51:17Speaker 2: her do it like nine different times. Would you like
- 51:20Speaker 2: some more wine?
- 51:22Speaker 1: Hey, dude, would you like some more wine? Dad is
- 51:24Speaker 1: a weakness of mine. It was offering people a drink.
- 51:27Speaker 2: The timing could not have been better, Like we had
- 51:31Speaker 2: just like gotten in there. I'm talking to the paints
- 51:34Speaker 2: for a while. Jill just like got her arm grabbed
- 51:38Speaker 2: by somebody, and then all of a sudden she's talking
- 51:40Speaker 2: all the girls like right out the git. So I'm
- 51:43Speaker 2: talking to Josh and you and all that, and Charo
- 51:45Speaker 2: comes up, anything you want please get a glass of wine?
- 51:48Speaker 1: Da Da da.
- 51:48Speaker 2: And then as we're going to the table, Truman did
- 51:51Speaker 2: you want a glass of wine? But oh yeah, here's
- 51:53Speaker 2: a bottle right here. I'll do it later in the
- 51:55Speaker 2: dinner comes over my right shoulder like a hostess.
- 52:00Speaker 1: It's like, Shriman, would you like more wine? I was like,
- 52:03Speaker 1: I love like like old body and mister Deeds Yes,
- 52:08Speaker 1: Mad J.
- 52:09Speaker 5: Joor Schuler, Mad j George dumb chef question. Was there
- 52:14Speaker 5: a red and white wine option?
- 52:17Speaker 1: Yeah, As a matter of fact, Josh Pate was the
- 52:20Speaker 1: first one there. I go. I'm like, you know, we
- 52:23Speaker 1: get everything set up, six o'clocks on around, I'm kind
- 52:25Speaker 1: of staying and looking out the front door scene who
- 52:27Speaker 1: might pulling first? Joe was like laughing at me. She's like,
- 52:30Speaker 1: I'm like, there's a there's a method. I want the driveway. Yeah, yeah,
- 52:35Speaker 1: driveway because you know.
- 52:36Speaker 6: What, they're getting there and having to move, like he
- 52:38Speaker 6: has to leave a certain time and you're the first
- 52:39Speaker 6: one there.
- 52:41Speaker 1: Yes, that's the thing. Yes, man, And you got you
- 52:43Speaker 1: gotta go up the driveway, I asked Josh Paid. I
- 52:45Speaker 1: was like, you have to put in four wheel drive
- 52:46Speaker 1: to get up the driveway because obviously it's Steve driveway.
- 52:49Speaker 1: But once you get back there, yeah, there's a game.
- 52:51Speaker 1: So when I see him pull in, Charl's like, oh,
- 52:53Speaker 1: who you think that is. I'm like, I don't really know.
- 52:55Speaker 1: I can't see. I said, you know what, I'm just
- 52:56Speaker 1: gonna go out back right now and start directing traffic.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Were you in lollipop stance? Yeah? Yeah, I don't really
- 53:05Speaker 1: know who that is. You know what, I'm just gonna
- 53:06Speaker 1: go ahead and go out to the driveway right now,
- 53:08Speaker 1: go out through the garage. I'm like, should I go
- 53:09Speaker 1: out the driveway, let them walk to the front, you
- 53:11Speaker 1: know what, I'm just gonna go on the drive go
- 53:13Speaker 1: on the driveway, walk up to the door. Pay Savannah,
- 53:16Speaker 1: first one's here. Welcome to the first dinner party in
- 53:19Speaker 1: the confidence. Savannah had Red and White ready to go.
- 53:22Speaker 1: She brought gifts. Red and White brought both options. She's
- 53:26Speaker 1: fired up ready, Josh gets out my Okay, Josh, here's
- 53:28Speaker 1: what I'm looking for. You know how you're moved here.
- 53:30Speaker 1: I want you pulled all the way up and then
- 53:32Speaker 1: back it toward the trunk faces the garage. Yeah, that
- 53:37Speaker 1: way you set the tone. Hopefully people get it. They
- 53:40Speaker 1: back in, back in, and somebody can pull all the
- 53:41Speaker 1: way up that way. If you got to leave early,
- 53:44Speaker 1: you could just find your way out of the driveway.
- 53:46Speaker 2: It was again, that's what that's what people did. That's
- 53:49Speaker 2: what that's what they did.
- 53:50Speaker 1: I was asking questions. He briant you back in. He's like,
- 53:53Speaker 1: oh yeah, you got three in a row. And I
- 53:54Speaker 1: was like, that's exactly how I want it, man.
- 53:56Speaker 2: I we were the last couple. We were the last
- 54:01Speaker 2: couple to arrive de and I had sent an eta
- 54:05Speaker 2: to him about an hour fifteen before we got there.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Yeah, apparently the dinner party like once dinner's still like
- 54:11Speaker 1: dinner being served. Hey just let your guys know I'm Michael.
- 54:14Speaker 1: The invite says six o'clock, Like I know, dinner's gonna
- 54:16Speaker 1: be served at seven, Like, I'm sure they'll be around.
- 54:18Speaker 1: She's like, have a rival between that six thirty six,
- 54:21Speaker 1: six thirty mark dinners getting served at seven. So when
- 54:23Speaker 1: I sent the scouting report, I hit the guys up
- 54:26Speaker 1: right between six and six thirty.
- 54:28Speaker 2: Which I'm so glad that he did, because he did
- 54:30Speaker 2: take pressure off a whole lot because and again, nothing
- 54:34Speaker 2: on our baby series is just the way the cookie crumbles.
- 54:36Speaker 1: And again commuting like fifty minutes.
- 54:38Speaker 2: Commuting fifty minutes, but babysitter is taking just a little
- 54:42Speaker 2: bit and that's okay, and we're getting everything solved and
- 54:46Speaker 2: sent will At text, I said, ETA six thirty five,
- 54:50Speaker 2: I want to let you know you told me six
- 54:52Speaker 2: to six thirty.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Yeah. If I'm out of.
- 54:54Speaker 2: This house in the next ten minutes, it's looking like
- 54:57Speaker 2: six thirty five.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:00Speaker 2: You had a great reply of hey, hands are not sweating. Yeah, Oh,
- 55:04Speaker 2: you're totally good. If it was seven o five, different stories.
- 55:07Speaker 1: Yeah, a different story. I said, if you said seven
- 55:11Speaker 1: o five, this would have been the first topic on
- 55:13Speaker 1: the pod that would run tomorrow. Yeah, And then he
- 55:16Speaker 1: threw us seven thirty five. I was like, Buddy, I
- 55:18Speaker 1: don't want even I'm sweating even thinking about something I said.
- 55:20Speaker 1: I would have to act you from the entire party, man.
- 55:23Speaker 2: I said, seven thirty five emergency pod, eleven PM tonight,
- 55:29Speaker 2: like we need to talk, like so did something some
- 55:33Speaker 2: shit happened, But yeah, dude, it was a truly I
- 55:40Speaker 2: told you this off the pod and I'm I'm speaking
- 55:42Speaker 2: to you, like, very very seriously about last night of One,
- 55:48Speaker 2: thank you for inviting us, to thank you for introducing
- 55:51Speaker 2: us to your close friends. They were all incredible. And three,
- 55:56Speaker 2: I'm being dead serious, dude, high stakes kind of e
- 56:00Speaker 2: It's a high stakes kind of evening. There's some nervousness
- 56:03Speaker 2: to it of y'all hosting. Y'all crushed on all the
- 56:07Speaker 2: hosting stuff on an unbelievable level. The vibes could not
- 56:12Speaker 2: have been better, and Jill and I were giddy.
- 56:15Speaker 1: The whole drive back.
- 56:17Speaker 2: Heartbroken that we had to leave early, but we truly
- 56:21Speaker 2: talked about the dinner party from your driveway to our
- 56:24Speaker 2: driveway the entire drive back, talked about the party, talked
- 56:28Speaker 2: about love Chelsea. Chelsea does majong with blah blah blah.
- 56:32Speaker 2: She wants to get a majon thing I got Savannah's number,
- 56:34Speaker 2: Sherman because she wants to learn how to do majong,
- 56:37Speaker 2: and Charo's really interested in majong, so I think we
- 56:40Speaker 2: you know, there might be some majong happening that could
- 56:42Speaker 2: be so fun. Uh da da dud like rocks, Oh dude,
- 56:46Speaker 2: there was like a and I loved it because we
- 56:49Speaker 2: have been so starved for like friendships of people, our
- 56:53Speaker 2: age with kids and stuff and like community stuff that
- 56:56Speaker 2: being able to sit across the table to where Jill
- 56:59Speaker 2: is not leaning on me for conversation and I'm not
- 57:02Speaker 2: leaning on her and I maybe talk to the girl's
- 57:06Speaker 2: side of the table because of proximity three or four
- 57:09Speaker 2: times where they would ask me like a clarifying question
- 57:12Speaker 2: about whatever they're talking about, bust related or like Jill related.
- 57:17Speaker 2: But watching Jill like giggling, dude, and like talking to
- 57:21Speaker 2: all these women that before that night, I only knew
- 57:24Speaker 2: Charro right, and they're all that filled my cup a
- 57:28Speaker 2: crazy amount through that fire and she was like we're
- 57:32Speaker 2: driving home and Jill was like, I'm not, like I'm
- 57:35Speaker 2: not overthee that right, Like that was really fun, like
- 57:38Speaker 2: right like I feel like we had a lot of
- 57:41Speaker 2: fun like I met a lot of really nice people.
- 57:44Speaker 1: Blah blah blah. I was just watching her just be
- 57:46Speaker 1: so the wins too, seeing people exchange numbers. It's like, oh,
- 57:50Speaker 1: let's go.
- 57:51Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, I played it very cool when that was happening,
- 57:54Speaker 2: because again, when you walk in and you.
- 57:55Speaker 1: Walk in last, it's like everybody's kind of standing in
- 57:58Speaker 1: the you know, the living room whatever, the big area
- 58:01Speaker 1: and just nerves. I'm like, okay, do we you know?
- 58:05Speaker 1: Charles like, hey, you should you should offer people a drink?
- 58:08Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah. I was like, Josh, you want something
- 58:10Speaker 1: to drink? Man? You want something? You want some wine?
- 58:12Speaker 1: You want? I got some, I got some beer. I
- 58:15Speaker 1: got some non alcoholics. So I brought the good whiskeys down.
- 58:18Speaker 1: He's like, I'll have water. Yea, yeah, let's get some water.
- 58:21Speaker 1: So I go get did I go ahead, get a
- 58:23Speaker 1: glass of water from the cabinet. I start filling it up,
- 58:26Speaker 1: and Charles like, hey, you know, we got water, glasses,
- 58:28Speaker 1: like all everything he needs already on that thay. Oh yeah,
- 58:30Speaker 1: I just figured i'd get him a bigger cup, bigger cup. Josh,
- 58:32Speaker 1: here you go, man, Dad, you gotta send serveys. You
- 58:37Speaker 1: gotta send servey, like, you know, are they hitting it off.
- 58:39Speaker 1: It's like Josh and Surean would be talking and then
- 58:42Speaker 1: the the you know, the separate like separate ones would
- 58:45Speaker 1: be talking over here. It's like, man, how do you
- 58:46Speaker 1: get some people maybe engaged more when we go to
- 58:48Speaker 1: the table. Oh, it's dinner time, Okay, let's go get
- 58:50Speaker 1: some dinner.
- 58:51Speaker 2: The paints bro when Savannah, I uh, she worked at LSU,
- 58:56Speaker 2: which I did not know that. Yeah, and had worked
- 59:00Speaker 2: with David Randa while he was there. And so we're
- 59:02Speaker 2: talking because Josh had brought up Atlanta and Josh was
- 59:06Speaker 2: in a blue.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Button down by the way, yeah, not a white tea.
- 59:09Speaker 1: I saw it.
- 59:10Speaker 3: So the two stories I saw was one Charles showed
- 59:12Speaker 3: this morning too of like panning the table where you
- 59:14Speaker 3: could see the seating chart, to which I was like, wow,
- 59:17Speaker 3: Suirrem's in the best spot. You're in the middle dividing
- 59:19Speaker 3: between the genders looking out.
- 59:20Speaker 1: To the backyard. It was a great seat.
- 59:22Speaker 3: The other one was pat which looked like charades or something,
- 59:25Speaker 3: him standing up and then drawing a big zero that
- 59:27Speaker 3: you said was Nebraska's wind total, and I was, I did.
- 59:30Speaker 1: Oh, Nebraska's potential and he was doing a big circle.
- 59:33Speaker 2: Sorry, so sorry, like their potentials like.
- 59:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought you said win total zero.
- 59:42Speaker 6: I'm here now, but I did look and at hell,
- 59:44Speaker 6: that can't that can't be Josh paate despite the bald
- 59:47Speaker 6: head in the face, because it's not a white tea.
- 59:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it was like senior teacher outside to school a
- 59:53Speaker 1: little bit. It was I was like, okay, all.
- 59:57Speaker 3: Right, what's what I want to know? What's one saying
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: Will would change about it after you? If he had
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: to fix one thing that happened at the dinner party,
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: if anything, oh little.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: I think I think I have the answer. What is
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: it us leaving? Us leaving early? No doubt, I think
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: want hey.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Hey, I could see in Shehrm's face it was gonna
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: because there was already a couples like Doug and Amy, like, hey,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: we're gonna have to leave site. We only have the
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: babysitter until nine point thirty probably, I think like you guys,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: but again they like lived closer, so it wasn't gonna
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: be We're only gonna have about twenty minutes to play Salable.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: We ended up playing Salable and they were gonna be leaving.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: So we're gathering. I'm getting people moved over. I'm like, okay,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: so let's let's dive in. Let's get everybody over in
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: the living room to where we're kind of setting up
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: the game and everything else. I feel sharm, I feel
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: Shrm in the vicinity and he's kind of standing, and
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: it starts to end in my brain. Is my boy
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: about to Is he about to lay it on me?
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: And I know Sherm bringing it as he's that guy's
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: public service announcement. I knew he wasn't caring about nobody
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: else there except for he knew he's about to put
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: a knife in old Willie See's chest. Because we had
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: been talking board games, and you know, people open up
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: Pandora's box like, well, what kind of board games you into?
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: And I'm like so many of them. I'm like competition Strategy,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: social game, I'm like telestrations, Like that game's fun, but
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: it's kind of bullshit because there is no winner. So
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: we're we're both on the soapbox talking about games. We
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: love fishbowl, salad bowl.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: Coming from hyped about game time, Yeah, I was truly
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: really hyped about game time.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: And sure it's the announcement and everybody's being gracious to him,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: and I'm kind of just quietly sitting.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: Because he knows. I'm like, fuck, man, why you gotta
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: leave right now?
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Bro? You know you live an hour away. Why'd you
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: do nine thirty? But that's just on some brotherhood that's all.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: That was on some brotherhood shit, And it was, oh, dude,
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: it I gave Jill that look of I know she
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: said no later than nine thirty. By what if we said, oh,
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: everything ran lane and we show up at our house
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: at ten thirty.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: I don't know how often she's operated as a babysitter.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: We pulled that with one that like it's like like ava,
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: if we could be running behind, we'll hit her up, like,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: you know, an hour and a half before we were
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: gonna show and be like, hey, it seems like it's
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: gonna be a little bit longer because.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: The drive and and that's what I wanted to pull
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: on her, and Jill said, not the right thing to do.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: This is only her second time babysitting for us. She
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: was very gracious to even kind of come in and
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: save the day.
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: We need to do. Real question, no question I'm like
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: to answer yours, though deep not a whole lot I
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: wish to what he's saying. Had I known people's outs,
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: you could get the games going sooner, because dude, I
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: the dinner was fucking awesome and they did her ran
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: its course how it should have like it naturally kind
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: of ended and we were talking games, say should we
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: get into it because dessert was awesome. But had I known,
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: it'd be like, you know, tightening up to where, hey, guys,
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: you know the youngs will have to leave at around
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: eight forty five, and we get the game going a
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: little bit sooner.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: And I have a pitch. This is a pitch. This
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: isn't even like notes. I thought the night went so
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: well that if y'all were to do that again, but
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: another couple hosts, you know what happens, y'all are having
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: to host every single time. I would advocate for a
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: five o'clock start. I would be totally fine with a
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: five o'clock start, still do the little cocktail hour, wine
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: hour before then, butts are in seats by six, then
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: game night's starting off at a nice little eight o'clock type.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Time, or it could be even sooner than that, or
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: even sooner than that, because for me, like the way
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: we grew up, it was like we just have barbecues.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: So people would come over and it'd be like, you know,
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: I know there's stress on whether it's the name plates
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: or whatever we're going to be serving for a dinner party. Yeah,
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: we never did that growing up. I just didn't really
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: know about it. But it'd be like, you know, people
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: come over, you're having a barbecue, Say, Chef and Deeke
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: show up, and I'm telling my mom, I'm sure it's stressed.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Like me thinking about all this now, it's like, yeah,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: I know there's stuff that comes into having people over,
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: and from the mom or the hosting perspective, you just
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: want to do right by everybody coming over. So when
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I throw at my mom in the last hour or
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: an hour before barbecue start, hey, Deacon Cheff are coming
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: over to But it'd be like somebody get in the car,
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: whether they got there, there's no pressure. They show up.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: Hey we don't have enough. We don't have that many
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: pork steaks or chicken legs whatever, we're barbecuing steaks. We
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: get in the car and go get some and then
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: come back to the house. Yeah, you're kind of just
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: vibing and know what to where if you do it again,
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: it's like, you know, I want to do one where
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: it's like busting guys or you know, I don't want
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: to say Will friend Domina. I love all of those
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: people that we had over, but you have one to
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: where if it's more buffet style, you serve as you go,
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: then you can get to the game sooner. I'm just
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: a games guy, bro, you are. I love the games.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: I love because I had three in mind that I
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: wanted to hit. You did you saw when you even
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: before you gave the PSA Charles like, Hey, I think
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: we should do Salabo because it seems like we're only
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: going to be able to play one game with everybody.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: She saw the defeat eyes because I want a games man.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: I wanted I had code names set up. Okay, I
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: was little by myself.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: He went, he left dinner early. He comes walking out
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: with like three board game boxes, sets him on the
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: on the kidst counter. No one has left the dinner
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: at all except for Will Compton sets out the game
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: and he's sitting there like setting everything out, and his
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: head's down. And Josh in true Josh paid for Me,
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: is sitting and looking directly straight, looks over his shoulder
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: to see will alone in the living room and looks
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: at me. He goes, U, should we begin the games?
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: Should we go join our friend William in the living room?
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: And I was like, let's go join William in the
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: living room. And that's about when Jill gave me the
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: phone flash and was like eight fifty and.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: I was like, I'm gonna have to massacre my boy.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: Literally, and she was like, you need you need to
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: say it. Like Jill was like, you need to say
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: it out loud to everyone, so it's not just like
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: a sneaky, irish goodbye, like you need to tell everyone babysitter.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: Here's the stitch.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: I added the hand up could have communicated better with
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: our babysitter and gotten a better exit time.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, sure.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: I feel like another thing there too, kind of going
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: on what we this morning? What occurred is like when
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: you walk in, you go, hey, guys, we do have babysitter.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: You know we have a heart out at this time,
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: no doubt. Well you're trying to game with your boy tonight, chop,
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: motherfucking chop boy.
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I guess that puts We got on too, like, hey,
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: speak the dinner. But hey, guys, I hope you know.
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: I'm really sorry Shurm's defense.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: Maybe he didn't know how much I love gaming, because
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: as I'm sitting over there by myself, I'm laying out
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: old names. I'm like, oh, these are some good words
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: right here, laying out I'm getting it set up, not
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: saying we're playing that game first. I'm just saying I
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: want it set up so that way we can seamlessly
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: transition from game to game. People don't know if he's
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: everybody's uptight.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: Pieces of paper have been shredded, Yeah, salad bowl has
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: been obtained, pins have been distributed.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: I had my pack of cards for a Werewolf out
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: in case we're going to go were Wolf. Charles like,
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: I don't know if Werewolf would be a great game
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: for everybody who's just getting to know each other. That's
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: usually a better game for everybody that does know each other,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: And to which I was reading the guard I'm like, sweetheart,
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: I think dinner's gonna crush enough to where everybody gets
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: good enough for poord to play some Werewolf or Mafia.
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: If you played Mafia, it's one of the same game.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: But I wanted I wanted code names because we had
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: twelve people. Makes it a little more difficult because you
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: can't hit those six to eight ten player caps of
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: games code names, Salable, Werewolf. I had them ready to go.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: I wanted them ready to go. I felt like we
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: were going to get to one. Okay, we could scrap Werewolf.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: Code names would be a fun one for everybody trying
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: to go Salable first. I was like, all right, all right,
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: we go sellbow first. Good called by Charlie again, sal
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: bols A hit. It was a hitter. It was a hitter.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: It would have been great to have you.
- 1:08:04Speaker 6: What are There's very few times that I get to
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: just watch you be like an innocent child. This is
- 1:08:15Speaker 6: one of the purest pods we've ever recorded of just
- 1:08:18Speaker 6: you being like, yeah, so I got the games, but
- 1:08:20Speaker 6: then no one was done eating. But I sat and
- 1:08:22Speaker 6: I knew they they'd come over, Like I knew they'd
- 1:08:24Speaker 6: be there, So I started setting up the games. And
- 1:08:26Speaker 6: so it's just like your thought meticulously going from step
- 1:08:29Speaker 6: by step, and then thinking in your head too, like
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: oh yeah, Charles said, I got to get water for people, like.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: Not only that, and then seeing watching people by the
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: window like who's gonna come worse? Yeah, not only you
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: can't wait to go. Yeah, the bathroom's over there.
- 1:08:45Speaker 5: When you decide to walk in, Like there's so many
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: things where I'm like, I don't even know. But it's
- 1:08:49Speaker 5: like when every once in a while you'll get something
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: like this. I had no clear doing this any dinner
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: party when we were talking this city. Yeah, and we're
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: talking this morning. But I only know because you I
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: saw last time too. Oh yeah, friends over and then
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: I'm hearing you break it down, like the intention that
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: went into it and like how meticulous you were about
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: like thinking of every detail. It's just amazing because it's all.
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: It doesn't come out a lot, but when it does,
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: it's like, oh, we'll just went crazy.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Comment right there could get me in trouble with the
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: wife because the detail she was, the detail the few
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: things that really Ce was locked in on and cares about.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Just know that I was ready to go more over, sweetheart,
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: I love you, yeah, moreover.
- 1:09:29Speaker 5: I just meant like you were so engaged with this,
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: like you you love the nitty gritty side of it
- 1:09:33Speaker 5: of like the site you're talking about the breakdown of
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: like this person, I felt like they were getting along,
- 1:09:38Speaker 5: like talking about how each conduct was.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: I wanted everybody to have a good time, because again
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: it was just people that don't necessarily know each other.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: I know I liked them all, but you're kind of
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: getting everybody around and you're doing something very intimate and
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: engaging and then also playing games.
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: And curating people is one of like my fate, Like
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: we were talking about my bachelor pready had twenty guys
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: there and not everyone had met everyone, like very few
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: people had met everyone there. Curating people was like my
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: joy in life. So I feel you there and the
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: fact that I can promise you everyone left. That to
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: what Sherm was saying and either said in the car,
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: I needed that we should do that with our other friends,
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: Like there's an involvement of like, oh my gosh, this
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: is possible that you and Charlie gave every one of
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: those couples.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: That's really cool because Amy, I want to say it
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: was Amy, but Charles like Amy leaned over and asked Charli, like,
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: so what's the occasion, Like why are you why'd you
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: guys do at dinner party? And Charles like we kind
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: of just wanted to, like we haven't had people over
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: to our house, like we moved in in February we
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: just don't do a whole lot of social like we do,
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: like obviously with busts, and she does a lot with
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: her bar three people, Like we're just busy. To her,
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: we haven't had people over, we haven't had the kids
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: out of the house to where it's just adults and
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: friends hanging out. And so she's like, we just wanted
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: to do a dinner party, Like we just wanted to
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: zero occasion, just have people over.
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: One thing to change on our end other than babysitter
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: is you had mentioned the pates when they rolled up
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: had a red and a white YEP.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: That was our game plan.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: I saw the time coming up as we're like trying
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: to get out the door, told Jill should we door
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: dash something to make sure it gets here?
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: You asked me my address, and you DoorDash it to my.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: I even thought about that, and Jill was like, honey,
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: do not do that. And I was like, honey, that
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: makes sense. Like they'd get to his house at the
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: exact same time that I will leave on the notes,
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: don't go inside, just stay out on the street. Will yeah,
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: leave it in the mailbox, like we'll show you the ID,
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: and like it's all good.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: She's like, no, honey, we will have.
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: Time to stop at Kroger, to stop at Trader Joe's.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: And then that's around the time that I hit you
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: with Eta because Jill was prepping babysitter and I was
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: still game planing stuff and I just had to break
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: into Jill. I said, we don't have time.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: To get one. Dude, You're good. You're totally I know,
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: but you know you're fun.
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: That is one of the best feelings ever, dude, when
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: you show up with wine or with flowers, like when
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: you go with dude, it's a good it's a good
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: move and it brings the vibes, yeah, especially them being
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: the first ones and going ay yo, and.
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: Being Savannah too, because Savannah didn't know any of the women.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: Hasn't really She met Charlot a Vanderbilt game, but fleeting
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: you know, you're around it's the football environment, me and
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: Peter do whatever. She's saying hi to Rue and meeting
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: Charles for the first time, but doesn't know the women,
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: doesn't It hasn't been around everybody else, has she been?
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: Had she been around you or was that the first time?
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: Seeing We have interacted via social media a bunch because
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: I'm just in Pet's replies.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: Yeah, but Savannah bringing the heat right out of the gate,
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: having two bottles, y'ah, let's go. Yeah. Yeah. It was
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: fun though, Man, it was it was. It was awesome.
- 1:12:51Speaker 7: P T.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: Sikos.

- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Felt good it did?
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: It reminds me of a comment that actually somebody wrote,
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: uh cool Breeze eighteen o eight on YouTube. He said, sure,
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: I'm saying his dad's a micro manager while his son
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: forgets to pay bills at thirty.
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Just let that one sit, bro.
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: I read that one, and I was like, what a
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: home run comment, truly seeing it through my dad's lens
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: and my dad being so gracious in that moment with
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: his hands on his steerwheel, being like, and let this
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: fucking change with this kid man, this kid man.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: Godly, It's like, what was going through my head when
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: you're like public service announcement. I should have done a
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: better job. Communicant.
- 1:17:46Speaker 10: This fucking guy, My dad's always on my ass, is
- 1:17:53Speaker 10: what he said me this.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: Why is my dad always on my ass? My ass? Dude?
- 1:17:59Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: The philos Oh my god, gut up. Dads, shut up.
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: It also reminds me of this comment from Kyle Klingensmith.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: He said, for shirm, here's my kid. Her name's Aria,
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: and it's just a card that he made of Aria.
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: Age seventeen months, weight nineteen pounds ten ounces, height thirty inches,

- 1:18:38Speaker 2: and taking steps towards greatness.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: Here's my kid. Her name's Allri. We need way more.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: It was no body to that emo.
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: It was just that that's what I want her in
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: the picture, and that's it.
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: Is my gay. We want to talk. Dad wins losses. Yeah,
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: I got one to hear from Dakota Meal. Here we go,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: wife win my husband. This is from the My husband
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Jared called in last week about forgetting his PT six
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: shirt at home when our daughter was born. Me, being
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: the badass wife that I am, got a hot dead
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: walk picture of him in his PT six shirt at
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: the hospital four days later when we went for baby
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: girl's checkup. It's like it never happened MPT six for
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: the win and here's my boy, Jered walking in the
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: PT six shirttv dot com.
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: Well freaking done and way to keep the bar high
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: for the empty Sikos out there. Well played, Dakota, I
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: have a dad win from Tristan Sprar. Tristan writes in
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: says morning boys. This past week, my oldest boy started kindergarten.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: I think his mom and I were more anxious than him.
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: On the first day, his mom takes him to school
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: for carpool drop off, but gets there early and offers
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: that they can drive around a little bit before dropping
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: him off. Boy simply says he's ready to go, and
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: once dropped off, walks up to school, ride in and
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: has a great day.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: I can't express how proud.
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: I am of this kid. Day two was just as
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: good as day one. It's tough watching him grow and
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: become more and more independent, but I continue to be
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: a proud dat proud of him every single day.
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: Here are some back to school in first.
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: Day picks for the boys. Thanks boys, Tristan from Indy
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: from Indiana, Let's go Stun, Let's go Tristan.
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: That's so sick individual Dad win success with the kiddo
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: was staying at their grandparents last night.
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: Yeah, what's going on with that, bro, fat dub.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: So you know again, first time them staying overnight at
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: Grandma and Grandpa's Lowlanopa's as we call them. So going
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: out there because we were getting set up for the evening.
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: We were gonna have yep. But getting them out there,
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: ru was a little sad. Made me said, made us
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: sad that we had to kind of likely. Hey, sweetheart,
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: you're gonna have such a great time. You're gonna be
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: You're gonna play, you're gonna be doing game, You're gonna
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: get to watch movies. They had the VHS set up
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: with old movies, old VCR. Bro, that's so epic, Yeah,
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: bro throwing the VHS and the VHR. They're watching movies like,
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: you're gonna have so much fun. They slept in the
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: same room, cool little bed set up where they they're
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: sleeping in the same room for the first time. So
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: Charles and I are leaving. We get to the house
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: and we're just hopeful. We're like, all right, we're back home.
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: They're obviously gonna have fun for the rest of the day.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: Bedtime is gonna be the big one where we know
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: if we're at there be if we're having dinner and
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: we're getting hit up or FaceTime, because dinner's kind of
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: going sideways because Rue either misses us. They can't get
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: the kids down in the same room because again they
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: don't sleep in the same room. Yes, but we never
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: heard a word or a peep all throughout the evening
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: last night, to where Charles checking in afterwards at like
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: between nine and ten o'clock at night like how everything went,
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: and they're like, oh, they eventually went down after a
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: big story with the witches and bad guys and everything else.
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: But they're sleeping sound right now. They slept all throughout
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: the night. We wake up in the morning and then
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: we're like, yo, bedtime went awesome. Then you wonder as
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: a parent, how's it going to be when they wake
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: up in the morning when they're like, oh, I want
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: mom or dad that whatever it is, like, who knows,
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: wake up somewhere new morning time has been awesome again.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: Right now, it's a loving him on Sunday and they're
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: still there. Yeah, charl had to work. I had to
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: do some work this morning. I came perfect time to
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: rip the pod. Yeah, but we're still kind of like
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: low stress. The kids are out having fun at Lolonopa's.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: But knowing that you have a successful first iteration of
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: staying at Grandma and Grandpa's, bro, it's kind of like,
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: because it'll be happening again here in a few weeks.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: We flirted with the idea of somebody hassitered being over
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: at the house, like Ava being at the house and
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: her putting him down while we were doing the dinner,
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: night and everything else last night, but they wanted to
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: go over to Lolanopa's. Lolan Oprah were like, hey, we
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: might as well get the first one out of the
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: way before we do later in the month when it
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: happens again. But now that you have that, it's almost
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: like unlocking a new infinity stone when your kids get
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: to go stay at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Because again, Charles,
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: I'm not getting to experience, Like, dude, I fell asleep
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: last night on the couch trying to watch Reacher because
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: I was wiped after the game night and dinner and
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: everything else. I fell asleep and didn't wake up un
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: till three in the morning. Charle comes out she had
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: to go to the bathrooms, like, hey, are you gonna
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: come in bed? I should have made sure you got
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: up and came to bed, but I was fired up
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: that I'm just falling asleep and I'm waking up on
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: the couch. Then you go into bed and wake up
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: in the morning. You don't got the monitors going off
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: or Scottie being awake a little too early, them just
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: needing you making breakfast? What should we do this morning?
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: What should we get rolling? What outfits do we need
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: to be doing? None of that stress is like bro
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: euphoria amazing.
- 1:23:38Speaker 5: The last time we grandparents were involved, we had to
- 1:23:41Speaker 5: deal with opah and the what was it?
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: It was it a asthma and hyler? How do we
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: feel about this performance? Now? This is great performance? It
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: sounds like again we we just haven't heard a lot
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: from camp. Gotcha from grandparents? Camp says are you having
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: a down head? Coach? Like A I don't know in
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: the NFL how they would do it, but like a, hey,
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: how do we go we get a full report? And
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: then it's uh, yeah, we'll get a scouting report on
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: everything went down, and I'm sure Rue will tell us.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: She'll fill in some gaps where we might have questions
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: because again they don't know what they're trying to keep
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: from us. And she's a rat, and she's a rat
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: as we've learned in the past, So we'll learn some
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: feedback on the right home. But overall, it's like, dude,
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: that's that's unlocked a new thing for us. Like even
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: if you need to break his parents, like you drive out,
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: drop him off at Lowlanopa's to where you know they're
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: gonna have fun sleeping over there, to where you can
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: get a knight to yourself.
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: Dude, two things there. One, I'm starting to realize that
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: Rue might not be a rat, she might just be
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: a ned. Start she she just can't help but just
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: calls it as she sees it and.
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: Tell the truth. Yeah, yeah, that's fair, jay Lyon. Yeah,
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: she's definitely not lying, jay Lion. And she's just kind
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: of like, this happened, I'm gonna tell you about it.
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: She's got loose lips. She's got loose lips. I would
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: maybe just show her the scene where.
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: They beheaded that start, because he couldn't stop just always
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: selling the dream.
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: Start with when he gets stabbed by Jamie's guy. Start,
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: start again, get to the head.
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: Open your mouth the way you do. Just want to
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: show you this is what happens to people.
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: They're gonna take it to the step of the baylord and
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: they then cut your head off.
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: That's what they do. That's the dad wind. That's the
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: dead wind from my world. That's a huge dad win.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: The second point that I wanted to touch on is
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: it is a topic that has been flirted with with
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: Jill's mom and my parents of some kind of townhouse
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: rental that they split or what would it look like
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: da da dah, Yeah, to where they could come in
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: you know, monthly, bi monthly and you know, just have
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: a little HQ if you will, and in law HQ
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: to allow that for Jill and I because we've been
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: seeing with the klomb there in laws are here. Y'all's
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: in laws are here. It just it makes all the
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: sense in the world. And this isn't putting the pressure
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: on my parents. I'm just saying that is a conversation
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: that they've been having that audience wise, I'm sure a
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: ton of people would write in the comments like having
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: in laws in town is a lifesaver.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: And you know, people out there listening that don't have
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: in laws in town. Is like we crave something like that. Yeah,
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: So it's not like it's putting pressure on your parents.
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: I think your parents understand those difficulties, knowing that you
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: want it. Yeah yeah, that far away. Yeah, dude, they're.
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: Like, I think it's just you know, finding something that
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: like financially makes sense, and something that's like not an apartment,
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: something that like has a little bit of like a
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: yard or something, you.
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: Know what I mean, Yeah, that feels housey. I think
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: they're thinking about going in and getting a spot, not
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: an airbnb.
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: Yeah, like doing a rental Okay, yeah, yeah, like a
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: rental of like a town home or or something that's
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: just whenever we come to Nashville.
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: That is.
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: You know, my mom's an artist too, so she'll be
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: like three months on and then if she has a
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: really good like art show and sells a bunch of
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: paintings and stuff, she can afford to do just two
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: weeks straight of like I'm good. Yeah, like I can
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: go up to Nashville and go live up in Nashville
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: for two weeks.
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: Jill's mom is in a position of.
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: Like ownership with the company that she works at that
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: she can afford to do that as.
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: Well and just get have some of that flexibility. Yeah,
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: so we're looking into it. Yeah, looking knowing we hit
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: that finally for the first time game change. That's gotta
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: be dude, y'all, like all the parents that do have
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: those grandparents are in laws that are that engaging and
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: that intentional and that like involved with the kiddos. Like, dude,
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: now I get especially when they go and stay overnight,
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: like they've been super helpful because they come and hang
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: with us. We go out and visit them to where
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: we're playing, but we're obviously still with the kids. They'll
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: leave because bedtime, we still do bedtime. Yeah, But knowing
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: that they go out there and they're doing the bedtime,
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: they're doing the wake up, we can just have a
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: little piece and quiet in space.
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: I could how much the pressure was off of you
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: and Charles's shoulders last night.
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: Yeah, because y'all would have been there. It would have
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: still been fun, fun, ru would have been engaging with
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: all of you guys, like y'all were truly just able
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: to be adults and not parents. Yeah, because nobody at
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: seven or seven thirty, like, hey, I'll get Scottie started
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: then we can switch and kind of do rue and
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: we're both kind of juggling that we'll also juggle and
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: having people over one hundred percent, y'all don't walk around
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: like balls of stress. I hope you don't hear that.
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: When I say I could tell how at ease you
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: guys were, but at ease from a stance of y'all's
- 1:29:03Speaker 2: only worry in the world that night was that people
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: were having fun. That was it, and that's all you
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: had to concentrate on, because you know, Opah and oh
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: my god, Lola, Lola had it cover.
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: We were fired up to we drive out there to
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: drop them off and Lola sitting out on the front
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: porch just waiting. I'm like, oh, that gasses me up.
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: My grandparents were the same way. They'd sit out in
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: their front porch. They had a little they had a
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: little swing chair and going back and forth and they
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: just rock back and forth until the grand kids came over.
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: My mom's got a big bay window at her house
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: and whenever you're pulling up, she can see you from
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: the driveway and.
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: You start doing that.
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: So great, dude, Yeah, that fires me up. I have
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: a crack a cold one here. From Brendan M fifty
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: six on Spotify. He said, just picked up my three
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: and a half year old daughter from her second day
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: of priest Well, she has loved it so far. But
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: my crack a cold one is just being nervous and
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: anxious for your little one's first experience at school in
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: them loving everything about it, Love the shows boys, been
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: a day one listener, Keep it up and to add
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: onto your crack of cold one, Brendan's crack a cold one,
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: it would be the dinner party. But Scarlett had her
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: first gymnastics class on Saturday morning. Leo Tard's required. Leah
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: Tard's required.
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: She is the only.
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: Student of her classes under the age of two. She's
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: a year and a month. Everyone else is like two
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: to three years old. Unfortunately I was not there. I
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: have a bunch of videos and photos that I can
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: send a chef.
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: I had a hell of a Saturday, by the way, dude.
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: I knocked out two dressers at home while Jill went
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: and did gymnastics class. So we did a little divide
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: and conquer and I felt so good when Jill came
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: home and I had those dressers done.
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: Dude, it was dope, but.
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: Her telling me these stories of like the stretching circle
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: and all the two year olds and three year olds
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: like taking the stretching circle so seriously, and how Scarlet
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: just a little one year old one month old. You
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: could tell on the teacher's face of the class she
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: was a little worried, like, oh wow, she's very young,
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: which one years old? Like you are allowed to take
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: them and sign them up for these classes. That teacher
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: was probably thinking, oh gosh, and you're required to like
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: be with your kid during the class. And Jill said
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: that Scarlett just set in that stretching circle and thought
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: she was the biggest big girl ever, had no idea
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: what was going on, but knew that like what was
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: happening needed to be taken seriously. It was like watching
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: everybody like doing their wretches and stuff and just kind
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: of sitting there and doing her hands up and down,
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: like yeah, they make.
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: The pizza, make the pizza.
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: Jill said, they said a prayer for safety. Body did there,
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: and you know, mount their heads and like said a
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: quick little prayer of like keep everyone safe and make
- 1:32:19Speaker 2: sure that fun amen, And just trying to hold Scarlet's
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: hands together as she's like moving around. She has no
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: idea what a prayer is. She's just juiced in her leotards.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: Unreal.
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: But the videos from that dude were just awesome and
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: it was a glowing report from the teacher. Came up
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: to Jill after it and was like, she is very
- 1:32:41Speaker 2: interested in the class, like at her age, Like she
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: did a fabulous job. Like very excited to have Scarlet
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: in our class. Great scouter report, to get great scouting report,
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: great scouting report.
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: Should we dive into voicemails? We should.
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: Let's dive into some voicemails. We have someone of the
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: dad's six on one. The dad's William. We have four.
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: We have four this.
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: Week, Willie one. Shehell sure.
- 1:33:10Speaker 11: First of all, shout out to you boys for putting
- 1:33:12Speaker 11: out great sodes every week. Name's David in Texas. You know,
- 1:33:19Speaker 11: got my son due early September. Second one, got a
- 1:33:22Speaker 11: seven year old daughter, Act seventeen, So get prepared for
- 1:33:26Speaker 11: that for both of you. Uh you know, Sunday early September.
- 1:33:31Speaker 11: Got the girl, she's a she's gonna take paternity leave first.
- 1:33:35Speaker 11: She's gonna get done right around Thanksgiving.
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: That means I get the joy of taking my paternity leave.
- 1:33:43Speaker 11: From my job and just suffering through just the best
- 1:33:48Speaker 11: part of football season with my son, you know, from
- 1:33:51Speaker 11: that Thanksgiving about end of January. I'm thinking about how
- 1:33:58Speaker 11: tough it's gonna be being to watch Monday night, Thursday night,
- 1:34:04Speaker 11: Saturday night, Sunday night of just pure football.
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: I'm just thinking of exactly how tough it's gonna be.
- 1:34:10Speaker 11: Any advice on how to get through that, you know,
- 1:34:13Speaker 11: in such a tough time.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: Thank you boys, love y'all. M that's disgusted, dude.
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: Thisisode was going so well too, God dang it, dude.
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: So he has to do six weeks, six weeks starting
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: in November.
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: During I would assume the worst time, which is championship
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: weekend college football playoffs, December football in the NFL playoff
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: football in January.
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: Now, here's here's where it gets even worse.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: And you have to watch your fucking son at the
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: house with all your TVs on, all these games on.
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: Here's where it gets worse for him. Something that he
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: probably has no idea is that paternity leave does not
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: count nor apply to holiday weeks. So he's gonna have
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: to schedule his paternity leave around Thanksgiving and Christmas and
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: New year's This is probably gonna be what altogether eight
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: extra days that he's gonna have to be at home
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: with his son that that's not even gonna count towards
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: his six weeks of paternity leave. So he's really looking
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: at about seven and a half weeks.
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: And listen and listening to a guy like that too,
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: you can tell it takes the life absolutely out of him.
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: From somebody who is who doesn't give a fuck about
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: football watching the kids, Now, this is a guy who
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: wants to grind at work. He wants to be at work.
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: Bro, He's got important shit that's going on that he
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: needs to be taken care of. But now he's got
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: to go look after this little whatever they want to
- 1:36:00Speaker 2: call it, son baby?
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: Is that what? He's having a kid?
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: And he's a bean, Yeah, a little bean. Tuld just
- 1:36:10Speaker 2: played the second voice now and just like best to David.
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: Can you imagine how his conversation with his boss is going,
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: how apologetic he is for the pronoun and he has
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: to watch it.
- 1:36:21Speaker 2: Home knocked out my old lady. Sorry, boss man, gotta
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: go do this thing now, got it?
- 1:36:29Speaker 5: Like?
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: When when the fuck do we start getting paternity leave
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: in this country Davide, you got her pregnant, your wife.
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: I know, I know. I didn't know what I was doing.
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: She pulled the goalie on me. I thought something felt
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: a little bit better down there, but I didn't fuck
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: it and I didn't put it together.
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: It's so it's her fault. It's her fault, David. Just
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: know that, and our thoughts and prayers will be with you.
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: Always in forever. My friend, where in Texas you from
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: loving to know that? Who's your team? Who you cheered for? Cougars?
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: What's up?
- 1:37:13Speaker 7: Boys?
- 1:37:14Speaker 12: This is Dalton from Houston. I've got two under three,
- 1:37:18Speaker 12: soon to be three under four. My two older ones
- 1:37:21Speaker 12: are girls listening to this week's episode, and I have
- 1:37:24Speaker 12: to say, Willie, see, you're fucking right brushing other people's teeth,
- 1:37:29Speaker 12: especially little people's teeth.
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: Fucking suck.
- 1:37:33Speaker 12: Any way that I can get out of that shit
- 1:37:35Speaker 12: I'm doing if the negotiation goes well. I one, listen,
- 1:37:40Speaker 12: all the respect to Charles in the world, but hey,
- 1:37:43Speaker 12: we gotta teach these kids somehow, okay, And all you're
- 1:37:46Speaker 12: doing is teaching her the responsibility of getting up knowing
- 1:37:49Speaker 12: you got to brush your fucking seat. The brushing teeth
- 1:37:52Speaker 12: sucks also small apr. You're three plus years in, four
- 1:37:59Speaker 12: years in being a girl, dad, it's time to learn
- 1:38:01Speaker 12: how to braid hair?
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: All right, boys, dum dad. He came in hot respect
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: the Dalton right there with that entire conversation. Because Charo has, uh,
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: we give him bads the other morning. We're kind of
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: we're getting him ready and Charles talker and ruined. They're like,
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: let me braide your hair. It'll be easier. Hair is
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: a little bit wet. Mama's gonna take long. You know.
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: I braid your hair fast as hell. But as Charles
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: braid and Charles just looks over at me, you're gonna
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: have to start learning how to braid hair so I
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: don't have to be the one of braider hair all
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: the time. So Dalton not only felt like you heard
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: my wife's conversation the other day, now he's communicating it
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: to me. Hey, as a man four years in, it's
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: time to start learning to braid hair. Will you see?
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: He feels me on the brushing teeth anytime you have
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: a chance to negotiate brushing your teeth, especially when they
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: come out of the Dennis Scott free like if they
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: had cavities and issues going on, and it's an absolute priority. Yeah,
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: you can't be missing that. Yeah yeah, but when you
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: got a little bit of leverage in leeway, you can
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: you can punt a couple of them, negotiate where you can.
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: But he's also hearing me talk about the hair of
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: the brushing, the hair story and everything else. He's like, yeah, well,
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: we gotta get Willie one show. We gotta get Willie
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: one braid going.
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: He's saying, teach a man to fish, but he's also saying, Willy, see,
- 1:39:12Speaker 2: you got to learn how.
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: To fish too. Yeah. Yeah, great phone calls, great, great
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: voicemail And hey, what team are you tune for? Go
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: Cougar of Texans come on.
- 1:39:21Speaker 2: With defense Man, Top Deep Forgive Yourself Too. It's the
- 1:39:27Speaker 2: title of our next one.
- 1:39:31Speaker 7: What's up, guys? I am getting ready to don't want
- 1:39:36Speaker 7: to run part of pet fit. Nothing likes some torrential
- 1:39:40Speaker 7: thunderstorms and sideways wind.
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: Good. Good, kids are doing well.
- 1:39:47Speaker 7: Just thought of something I wanted to share. It was
- 1:39:51Speaker 7: a thing that came up just thinking about listening to
- 1:39:56Speaker 7: your Alls podcast, thinking about the kids. I've got Riley,
- 1:40:00Speaker 7: she's six girl dad first, and we've got a little
- 1:40:02Speaker 7: boy read he's three to go start at school, and
- 1:40:05Speaker 7: just how quickly things have changed. Hold onto the memories,
- 1:40:12Speaker 7: cherish everything. Had a rough time, got on the rilly
- 1:40:16Speaker 7: a little bit too hard, But kids you quick to forgive.
- 1:40:19Speaker 7: So if you've had just again a lesson something, however
- 1:40:21Speaker 7: you want to phrase it, something I've thought about because
- 1:40:24Speaker 7: I've seen it in the discord and stuff where people
- 1:40:26Speaker 7: are having hard times with kids. Maybe get off a
- 1:40:29Speaker 7: little or go off a little too much on them,
- 1:40:32Speaker 7: get a little frustrated. We've all been there. Kids are
- 1:40:35Speaker 7: quick to forgive. Make sure to forgive yourself too. I'll
- 1:40:39Speaker 7: be safe.
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: I love that one. That's a lesson. He just dropped
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: a lesson in Arnist on that phone call. That was
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: a good one. That's a really good one. Be able
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: to not kick yourself too much. I struggle with that
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: on a very very.
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: High level, being too critical of myself. Gotta slow down
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: and be like, hey, all good, next, play next memory,
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: next play golf with getting frustrated too.
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: Yeah, they do something right one time, and that expectation
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: kind of subconsciously gets planted in your brain. Then when
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: they fall short the next time, you get a little
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: frustrated because you want to allude to the time they
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: did it correctly. Start having a little teasy, having a
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: little dust up, and I need.
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: To start implementing that because I'm not even really in
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: disciplined era of fatherhood. Biggest form of discipline right now
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: is Scarlet reaching for outlets and me going no, no, no, no,
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: no no, and Scarlet knowing that no, or the head
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: starts going like this. So she'll sometimes point at the
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: outlet and start going like that.
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: Oh, that's good, which is good because if she keeps
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: doing it, you're gonna have to You're gonna have to
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: create this app yourself. You kind of see you're doing it.
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: She gets a little close to the she gets a
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: little close to the outlet, she touches it. You just
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: creep up on uncle, just shake the ship out what
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: I tell you. Next time, it's gonna be real. She
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: starts crying, handing ther Mom, take care of this. He
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: should touch the outlet. Hey, why did you letter do that?
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: I thought it was a good thing. Sometimes you gotta
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: learn the hard way.
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: Teach your man the finish honey, Yeah, did you listen
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: to the souna or what what do you do?
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: What do you She keeps doing it and I'm gonna
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: boil a pot of water and I'll ever touch that
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: and see what happens when you touch the outlet. You
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: just sit around the house, You watch your soaps. Your
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: husband's got that podcast, Yeah, listen to that. You don't
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: give a ship about yours. Man, good to know what, daddy,
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: But yeah, forgive yourself, forgive yourself.
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: Help me with my pitch is the next one?
- 1:42:58Speaker 13: Hey, will surmke chef, How you guys doing. My name
- 1:43:02Speaker 13: is CJ from Omaha, Nebraska, calling in to see if
- 1:43:08Speaker 13: you can help settle something between me and my wife.
- 1:43:11Speaker 13: We have a three month old little boy named Barrett,
- 1:43:15Speaker 13: and we recently just sold our house and were moving.
- 1:43:19Speaker 13: And as we are getting ready to move into this
- 1:43:23Speaker 13: new house, I told my wife that there's a spot
- 1:43:26Speaker 13: that is absolutely perfect on the main floor living room
- 1:43:30Speaker 13: to hang my white tail, shoulder mount taxidermy nice big
- 1:43:36Speaker 13: buck Midwest whitetail.
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: How many points would be a great sapad.
- 1:43:41Speaker 13: The living room, great conversation starter. And truthfully, here's my
- 1:43:46Speaker 13: main thing. When my son Barrett gets older and he
- 1:43:51Speaker 13: has kids over, I kind of wanted to be like
- 1:43:56Speaker 13: my dad's cooler than your dad because he shoots Big
- 1:43:59Speaker 13: Bucks and your dad doesn't. And my wife doesn't quite
- 1:44:05Speaker 13: understand that approach, I guess, And uh, just curious if
- 1:44:12Speaker 13: you guys have any advice for a better way to
- 1:44:15Speaker 13: sell this pitch to her that I would like to
- 1:44:18Speaker 13: put some of my taxidermy on the main floor as
- 1:44:21Speaker 13: kind of a flex h for when our kids are
- 1:44:25Speaker 13: older and they bring friends over, and so any any who,
- 1:44:31Speaker 13: that's all I got. Appreciate all you do, Thanks for
- 1:44:33Speaker 13: the last and yeah, have a great day. Guys, We'll
- 1:44:37Speaker 13: see us.
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: C J. I can hear it in your voice.
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: I'll be honest. When he I thought I was gonna
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: first resolve, like help you resolve an argument with my wife.
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: I thought it was gonna be like the uh over
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: under and wind total for the Huskers this year.
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: Which what what would that be? If someone were wondering, like,
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: what would.
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: That over line six and a half, we're going over?
- 1:45:03Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's a big overplay. Come on, that's a
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: big If you happen to have the FanDuel sportsbook app
- 1:45:09Speaker 2: on your phone, I think the overs the move there
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: without question, without question.
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:45:18Speaker 2: I can tell from the way CJ. Socker, This isn't
- 1:45:21Speaker 2: some well one twenty five class, you know, eight point.
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: It sounds like it's got a G six kicker on
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: the shore, maybe a one to forty class, maybe a
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: ten point maybe eleven with the little.
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: Kick on there.
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: And for that, for that reason, I would go up
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: to my wife, I'd say, hey, honey, you know, in
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: our wonderful, beautiful china cabinet that we have, do we
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: put all of our plastic cups from all of our
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: favorite little fast food spots?
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: Uh? Do we put that in the china cabinet?
- 1:45:53Speaker 2: Or do we put that in the cabinets that you
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: can't see into? And we put our crystal we put
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: our nice sham paying glasses in the China cabinet. Right, So,
- 1:46:03Speaker 2: why is my one fifty class eleven point with the
- 1:46:06Speaker 2: G six kickers sitting.
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: In the garage? Why the hell is it not in
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: the living room? That would be two things are happening
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: right now. CJ's listening. Is it a one fifty class?
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: Because if it's not, now I think he identifies if
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: he can come correct with this conversation or fall back,
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: because if you want to go out of war, this
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: seems like an element or a fork in the road
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: if you will, Yeah, on knowing where to take your losses.
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: Because another approach, if it's not on the first floor,
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: where do you want me to hang it? It's not
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: going outside the house, even if it's in the garage
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: or a different room. A couple things. One, when the
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: friends and buddies come over, it's not like they're just
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: going to be on the first floor and they're going
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: to see stuff out in the open. It's a lot
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: more fluid being out in the living area. Now, if
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: you get a section or a portion of the house,
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: whether it's garage, whether it's a bonus room, obviously not
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: your room. People won't be going into that room, but
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: somewhere where the moment somebody says, you walk in the garage,
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: or you walk in that bonus room, somebody says, oh,
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: what's this. That's a moment for Dad CJ. To always
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: go tell the story of this buck.
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: Like where some lessons are being told.
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Or if people come over and you want
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: to show them the house a little bit, knowing you're
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: going to walk them into the corridor where this buck
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: is going to be present, it gives you a moment
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: for undivided attention, because when you're in the living area,
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: you're on the first floor, it's always divided. People are
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: coming in. You want people to kind of ask about
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: the bucket. Might you might not get there because wife's
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: talking to the kids or jabber the kids. Let's go
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: upstairs and play this, let's play that. But you have
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: it in a different section of the house. It allows
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: for you to have a moment of undivided attention when
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: telling him the tale of this one twenty thirty one
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: fifty class buck. I agree with you. So as he's listening,
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: he I think he's going to know his answer to
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: go with the China cabinet analogy. I think it's a
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: great move if we're talking a trophy type buck. If
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: we're not, this is one to where you ain't losing,
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: You're just changing the conversation to figure out where your
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: big win is. Well, I believe you shot this one correct, Yes,
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: I shut that bad boy right here.
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: I believe this is one of your thank you peek
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: and a beautiful mount as well.
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, all right, So I would hold it
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: just like this. I would be holding it if I
- 1:48:54Speaker 1: were him to let CJ know I lost the battle
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: of having mounts in the house.
- 1:49:01Speaker 2: Okay, okay, so everybody's learning here. I think everybody's learning here.
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: If I cared about it that much to the the
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: to the degree that CJ sounds, it would have been
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: a much different kind of conversation, much different dialogue. You know.
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: I would have found a spot, probably in the garage
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: or somethingwhere where it's like, hey, sweetheart, I can tell
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: you're you're stuck on this hill. I'm not going to
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: try and kill you on this hill. How can I
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: work with you? Because it's not leaving the household, but
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: I need it somewhere, and where can we compromise and
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: find agreement. Here's where I would say, trying to put
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: myself in CJ's shoes. Here, you and I are both
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: girl dads. Yes we don't have a little boy, CJ does.
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: CJ is trying to show his son and son's future
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: friends this, this, how you do it, this, how you
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: get that shit pumping. So I can see where CJ
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: is coming from, wanting to push the masculinity. Honey, we
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: got a little well boy, we gotta show them the
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: right path. But you can still accomplish all of those
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: goals that you and CJ just said you can still
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: accomplish them if they're in a different room of the.
- 1:50:09Speaker 2: House, which I fully agree on that, because my dad
- 1:50:13Speaker 2: had like a library study. That's where all of our
- 1:50:17Speaker 2: deer heads were. We're in the study and when you
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: walked in there, it was like an od like, oh,
- 1:50:23Speaker 2: Sherman does a little bit of hunt like you could.
- 1:50:26Speaker 2: He had all of them out and we have it
- 1:50:29Speaker 2: hanging on our locker room set. Oh, somebody's like, oh,
- 1:50:31Speaker 2: he's just that one to Willie. See that'd be I
- 1:50:35Speaker 2: you dropped him where he stood. And I think, and
- 1:50:37Speaker 2: let's say it is a one to twenty five, right
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: what CJ's got. It's not the biggest thing, you say, Honey,
- 1:50:44Speaker 2: I think this would go great upstairs in the game room.
- 1:50:48Speaker 2: Something that she's gonna say yes to the example that
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: you said of having, but don't even.
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: Say it, say where can I hear a few options
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: I was thinking of and let her let her win,
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: let her decide, but really she he's deciding a couple
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: of places. You already knew you wanted to hang it boom,
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: But honey, just want to put in your ear when
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: I do get that one sixty class I've been seeing
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: on the game cam with the drop time.
- 1:51:15Speaker 2: I'm thinking, right here for that puppy, the.
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: One I've been chasing for three years, obsessing over with
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: the boys. When I get that one, I think that
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: one goes right there, get an easy yes. So now
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: we're in we already have heard yes from the person
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: we're selling to. Let's upsell them. But let's not.
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: I'm sell them with something that's right here in front.
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: It's just the potential, the potential for it.
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: In the end. To add on selling the potential, would
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: you be against having another conversation when I take that
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: bad boy down? Well, you allow them to have control
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: of the answer to say. They're not gonna say yes,
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: I'd be opposed. They're probably gonna say I wouldn't be
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: opposed to it. Right there, you found a lane. We're
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: still building. This is steps out of time. If we're
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: talking legacy, you got to pour into the process.
- 1:52:03Speaker 2: And when she says I wouldn't be opposed to it,
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: you hit her with as you're taking this off your
- 1:52:08Speaker 2: you know, off your lap to go hang it up
- 1:52:10Speaker 2: in your game room. You go, that sounds great, honey,
- 1:52:13Speaker 2: You know how much I appreciate your input. So I
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: would really love to have that conversation when we get there.
- 1:52:20Speaker 2: Who lost who lost it? Nobody did man here, but
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: yeah the deer did list. Deer did list. Sorry, buddy,
- 1:52:27Speaker 2: you're going in storage in the storage unit. That's a
- 1:52:35Speaker 2: great buck, by the way, great buck. Will you see dude?
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: Let's rip an email your boy. I gotta get you,
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: gotta go, I have to get rolling. You want to
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: do one email each? How about you just rip an
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: email and then we'll close it out.
- 1:52:49Speaker 2: How how long is one of your emails?
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: Read Wills because I was about to say this one's
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: like a three party.
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: Which looking at which one? Am I? Looking out? I
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: messed it up?
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: Reed Wills, Reid Wills refund fact.
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah yeah. Fun Chef's that email?
- 1:53:06Speaker 5: What's the Patrick Carter f fact did in the team
- 1:53:10Speaker 5: meeting General Robert Neeland. It's not because he was a
- 1:53:13Speaker 5: great football coach. They called him the general. He was
- 1:53:15Speaker 5: a brigadier general, first in World War One, then World
- 1:53:19Speaker 5: War Two. He managed key supply lines in the Pacific
- 1:53:23Speaker 5: Theater UH and later on became most successful Tennessee head coach. Neeland.
- 1:53:29Speaker 5: Stadium was not redesigned. It was designed by him in
- 1:53:32Speaker 5: nineteen forty to be what it is today. By the way,
- 1:53:35Speaker 5: at the one hundred thousand when it was only a
- 1:53:36Speaker 5: forty thousand person stadium, he designed it all the way
- 1:53:39Speaker 5: up to what it is now, which is like one
- 1:53:40Speaker 5: oh one nine twenty three people.
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: You Jeff Chef. This email comes in from Patrick Carter
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: and we got it. Looks like we got a champion
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: on our hands right here. No, he's got a ring
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: on right here. Oh shoot, hey, boys, love the pod
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: and everything you guys do for this community. I'm the
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: dad to four awesome kids. Ten year old identical twin girls,
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: Emmy and Ellie, nine year old son Bear. That's three
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: kids in fifteen months, and six year old son Bowen.
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: This email is addressing my boy Bear and trying to
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: get him out of the house for flag football. Trying
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: to get him out of the house for flag football.
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: Shout out my boy Cole Beasley, best flag coach in
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: the game, Cold Beasley, former All White Team. Yeah, dude,
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: Me and my wonderful wife are deep in the trenches
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: of kids' sports most of the time. With four kids.
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: We are on anywhere from six to eight teams at
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: a time, so trying to get everyone out of the
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: house to get to games and practice is chaos. End
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: of last season, we were trying to get out of
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: the house for both of our boys flag games. Told
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: everyone to get ready and head to the van. My
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: wife and I get snacks and chairs packed up and
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: think everyone is loaded up in the van. Once I
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: get in, I realize my boy bear has not made
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: it out of the house yet, even though we told
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: him to get ready twenty minutes before. I run back
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: into the house and find him sitting butt ass naked
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: on the floor of his room trying to get his
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: trying to get his underwear on. I said, buddy, what
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: are we doing? You should have been ready to go.
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: This boy, without missing a beat, looks me in the
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: eyes and says, Dad, I'm trying, but but my wiener
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: is just too big to get my underwear up. With
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: every bit of self control, I was trying not to
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: die laughing. I failed. Once I gathered myself, I told him,
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: but it ain't. After we were back in the car,
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: relayd the story to my wife and she said I
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: shouldn't have laughed, that it could mess with his confidence.
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: I told her, it's crazy to think I can I
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: could contain myself in that situation. I'm not that mentally strong.
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: But we made it to the game and brought home
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: the ring. Anything y'all kids have said that just leave
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: you speechless, indoor laugh and keep up the awesome work, y'all.
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: Patty C. Patrick Carter, Hey, first off about Patty Ce.
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: Get my wiener in my underwear, man, it's too big.
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: You know what?
- 1:56:15Speaker 2: You know what, Patty C. The only only room for
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: coaching there for Patty C. He's like son, your old
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: man has that problem just about every damn day. Man.
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: They gotta started making different kind of underwear for guys.
- 1:56:29Speaker 2: On you, buddy, You're gonna have to learn quick because
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: that's the family.
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: Curse right there. Yeah, you just like your daddy. Just
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: sounds like you just like your daddy.
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: That's about the only room for improvement there other than that.
- 1:56:43Speaker 2: Patty C. Legend also Dallas Cowboys legend. Cole Beasley is
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: his son's flag football coach said, we hear that correctly.
- 1:56:51Speaker 1: We heard that correctly. I believe that's his head football coach.
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: You know they are spread it out. What fast paced
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: tempo slot receiver is eating.
- 1:56:59Speaker 2: Oh dude, that is what is up with all these
- 1:57:03Speaker 2: like dope NFL players just be in little league flag
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: football coaches.
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: Love the game, man, they love the game. I know,
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: but that's so sick, Like I just the ideas that
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: you don't want all the politics and the profession and
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: the career and the ambitious and traveling getting fired like
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: holding on your ass blah blah blah blah blah if
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: you've made enough. It's like, how can I coach this game?
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: Because I would love to coach of the game, love them,
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: How can I do it with all that bullshit pressure
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: that comes with all the things that you can't control.
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: Where it's not as much about it is about ball,
- 1:57:33Speaker 1: but not as much about ball as it is just
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: the purity of the game. You find that in literally
- 1:57:37Speaker 1: you find that in middle school.
- 1:57:38Speaker 2: Yeah, if your lucky, you get that in high school too, Dude,
- 1:57:42Speaker 2: you would. You might actually know this guy because you're
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: a linebacker. Sicco Cayle Clifton, Jet's legend, He's got most
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: solo tackles and Jet's history.
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: No, his son went to.
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: High school with me. Cayle Clifton aka for me, coach Clifton.
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: He was my pee wee football coach back Betty a
- 1:58:00Speaker 2: badass too.
- 1:58:01Speaker 7: Bro.
- 1:58:01Speaker 2: You want to know the best part about him, tell
- 1:58:03Speaker 2: me the gentlest fucking giant of all times. But when
- 1:58:07Speaker 2: he would show you the plays. Now, he's one of
- 1:58:10Speaker 2: those guys that kind of talks like this, real.
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: Soft, real the shift demeanor to him.
- 1:58:15Speaker 2: And he's got hands that look like they belong on
- 1:58:17Speaker 2: a bear's body. But he would get your pets and
- 1:58:20Speaker 2: he'd move you around, show you and you hit him
- 1:58:23Speaker 2: right here you get under the page. Oh man, he
- 1:58:26Speaker 2: still had it in him and you could tell he
- 1:58:28Speaker 2: was fighting back so hard to like not scare us.
- 1:58:31Speaker 2: You know, eight year old, nine year old, he's wanted
- 1:58:35Speaker 2: to get in there.
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: Just oh.
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: He always said freaking or effing Yeah, he wanted to
- 1:58:41Speaker 2: drop the F word, but it was always kinkers freaking.
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: Legend. Good so good?
- 1:58:51Speaker 2: Zip do you have? Do you have a Less of
- 1:58:55Speaker 2: the Week or anything? I don't do you I don't either?
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: Good one from that earlier the phone call. Yeah, be
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: thank for yourself. Man, forgive yourself. Man, forgive yourself. Man.
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: Take out the if you didn't take out the trash.
- 1:59:09Speaker 2: Take it, take it out. Forgive, forgive yourself.
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: Sorry, I don't know why I joined in on that.
- 1:59:14Speaker 1: I don't even know what you said. I leaned up
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: to hear take out the trash. I love that you
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: joined in on that felt right, Chef. Just see me.
- 1:59:21Speaker 1: I just come back, just looking for validation after my
- 1:59:24Speaker 1: fuck up. This Hey big week ahead, Yeah, big big
- 1:59:26Speaker 1: wee get your boss back.
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: So what we'll do is, if you're listening to this
- 1:59:30Speaker 2: episode it is a Wednesday, let's go ahead. Let's put
- 1:59:34Speaker 2: in the comments, good luck chef, good luck on the burrito, Chef.
- 1:59:37Speaker 2: Let's get it right, chef, because let's say Friday, we'll
- 1:59:42Speaker 2: have a clip out of chefs.
- 1:59:44Speaker 1: Could be day of who knows, could be day off.
- 1:59:46Speaker 1: After you've already be rated him in the comments, you
- 1:59:48Speaker 1: can come back with another comment and say, but also
- 1:59:51Speaker 1: good luck chef.
- 1:59:51Speaker 2: Bounce it's bounced back season, because he will be making
- 1:59:54Speaker 2: a breakfast burrito for at the very least this core for,
- 1:59:59Speaker 2: if not people in the office. I don't know to
- 2:00:01Speaker 2: what extent you're going to do it, but you will
- 2:00:03Speaker 2: be making breakfast burritos. It sounds like I'll leave you
- 2:00:06Speaker 2: with this last little note. As a Texan colonel, Travis
- 2:00:13Speaker 2: wrote a letter to the United States saying that they
- 2:00:15Speaker 2: needed troops at the Alamo. Sanjana's army was on the
- 2:00:19Speaker 2: march and had San Antonio completely surrounded. No one answered
- 2:00:23Speaker 2: his call to arms except for one man, chef Davy Crockett.
- 2:00:29Speaker 2: Where's David Crockett from. He's from the great state of Tennessee.
- 2:00:33Speaker 2: Where are the Tennessee? The University of Tennessee called.
- 2:00:37Speaker 1: I think we're the volunteers.
- 2:00:40Speaker 2: If anybody can answer a call to arms, it's a volunteer.
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: Well says you got this, chef. Thank you, Sharon, I
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: forgot this. We'll see you next week.
