- Daniel: I'm gonna be honest with you. We are tired of telling you over and over and over again that Georgia's better than every other team in the country. It it's it it's it's a it's a used up line. It's we're it we're done with it. We're moving on. We're on to Cincinnati. I thought today, Clint, we could move on to why Gunnar Stockton is better than every other quarterback in the country. Should we do that? Clint: Mm. Okay. Nauseating. Okay. Great. I I am here for this. And if you're here for it I you should take a sip. And if you're not ready for it, let me tell you the fans who aren't ready for this conversation. Texas fan, not ready for this conversation. Daniel: Yeah. Take another sip. ⁓ there's a lot of ⁓ But go on. That's the beginning of every list of people not ready for a conversation. ⁓ no. Clint: Old Miss fan. Y'all get your feels out now because after Saturday, we Daniel: It's gonna be a long weekend and it starts today. Clint: Let me just tell you by the way, really quick, old Miss Fan, this is what you have in front of you. If the Protect College Sports Act passes, there's a provision in there in which interpreted how it is said, your quarterback, Trinidad Chambliss, won't be eligible starting week eight, nine of the season. Daniel: But but we're gonna sue Lane Kiffin and have him kicked out of the SEC. That's what we're gonna do. That's what we're gonna do. ⁓ the good news for you is he's not the best quarterback in the SEC, so you won't be losing the best quarterback in the SEC. See there's a silver lining to that. Guys like CJ Carr at Notre Dame, guys like Lenora Sellers at South Carolina, guys like the aforementioned Trinidad Chamlis, Arch Manning, ⁓ Darien Minsa, and the like. Where do you want to start, Glenn? Clint: Yeah. Daniel, I I want to start by the that's the class. Now we're not saying those quarterbacks are the best in college football. We're saying is national people have identified those as the as the quarterbacks we're going after. Again, notably Arch Manning. I I I I want to start by making a case for all these players and then saying what statistically Gunnar Stockton is doing compared to what they're doing. Cause the knock on Gunnar and the knock on Georgia is that. Daniel: ⁓ huh. Clint: One, we haven't played nobody, Paul. That's the first knock. And what I want to say is, ain't nobody played nobody. Texas, you played Ohio State at home, and Ohio State's not the same Ohio State team. The two best players play quarterback and wide receiver for them. And then it's mid after that. Because everybody gone. All right? It's Daniel: Uh-huh. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And ⁓ by the way, the only re the only way you scored any points in that game was by running the ball between the tackles. Yep. We're not having a conversation about Gunnar Stockton versus Hollywood Smothers. Gunnar Stockton, better passer. Hollywood Smothers, better runner. See, I made the comp already. I already did the head to head. The Clint: Hollywood Smothers is very good. V very good. We're not. Yeah. There it is. Okay, great. So I'm gonna give you stats ⁓ from those quarterbacks. I'm gonna give you stats from how many passing attempts they have given because it's no competition, but nobody's had competition. Passing attempts because Gunner has basically been pulled the second quarter of every game. He's played four quarters. Three and a half. Daniel: Yes. No. He's played a total of three and a half quarters. Yeah, in two games. Clint: Correct. The rest of these quarterbacks have played much more and thrown much more. I'm gonna give you yards per attempt. So I'm gonna talk about the the level of competition and yards per attempt for these top quarterbacks along with Gunnar Stockton. I'm gonna start with Trinidad Chamblis. He has thrown sixty two attempts. Old Miss Fan, you told me that the air raid was gonna be good. I'm here to tell you it's stupid. Check Texas. Daniel: Interesting. I check Louisville. Maybe. I don't know. Like that that's where I would start. Clint: ⁓ head and shoulders above everybody else's 62 attempts for Trinidad Chambless, nine yards per attempt is what he's averaging. And he has faced the 26th and 136th defenses according to ESPN SP. 136th and 26th in lieu of in this short season. Okay. CJ Carr, 49 attempts, 10 yards per attempt. ⁓ slight slightly better. He's played the 24th best defense and 112th best defense according to. Daniel: Slightly better than Trinidad. Clint: ESPN SPI. Lenora Sellers, 46 attempts, 8 yards per attempt. Not looking good there. ⁓ and he's faced the 128th best and an unranked team. So not great. Minsa, 45, not an FPS team, correct. Can't can't be put on the ESPN. We're we're gonna have one of those. Georgia has one of those unranked, okay? ⁓ Daniel: Yikes. Not great. By the way, unranked means they're not an FBS team. Yeah. Yeah. Sure, Tennessee State, not an FBS team. Clint: Minsa, forty-five attempts, fourteen point four five yards per attempt. Very good. ⁓ he has faced the 70th ranked team and not ranked. And the 70th ranked in Stanford is one of the worst teams in all of college football that is not. Daniel: Stanford is the worst power five team in college football and I will not listen to any any feedback on that. Like I sh they are awful. Clint: It's so bad. Awful. Arch Manning, sixty four attempts more than Trinidad Chambliss. Daniel: Lord Trinidad. It's Trinidad two point ⁓ How many of those attempts sailed over the his receiver's head? Clint: Seven point I again for three quarters, Steve Sarkeesian abandoned the run. When he finally got his head between his legs and out, he said, I have a very good running back. Let's use him. And they won the game off of that. So ⁓ sixty-four attempts, seven point eight yards per attempt. And Arch has played the number one and then not ranked. Ohio State's number number one because Daniel: The So including a game against an FCS team. Clint: Correct. Daniel: Arch Manning has by far the lowest yards per attempt of any quarterback on this list. Clint: Correct. But low Lenora Sellers. Okay. Now let's get to Gunnar Stockton. Gunnar has faced the 92nd and not ranked in this. Again, the competition, along with Mensa, basically Wash. ⁓ Stockton has 32 attempts. Let that sink in for a hot minute. Daniel: That is correct. 32. That is less than half of the number of attempts of some of the quarterbacks on this list. ⁓ Clint: Okay. Daniel: And all we've done is throw the ball. Like Nate Frazier has ten carries on the year. Clint: N Yes. Yes. Gunnar Stockton has thirteen point six yards per attempt right up there with Darien Minsa. Daniel: He's double what Arch Manning is doing in a per attempt. And he's doing it so meaning he's thrown for the same number of yards as Arch Manning in literally half the number of throws. That's what that's what the math maths out to. Clint: Four attempts. That's exactly right. Daniel: Half the number of attempts, the same number of total yards. Because see he doesn't sail it over his receivers heads. Clint: What were He had one where he over Isaiah Canyon that was on a streak when he had Lennon Humphreys down sitting in the middle field. He had one of those. Didn't read right on that one. But for the most part, Gunnar Stockton is taking deep shots, not settling, accuracy, pinpointing it on time. Talon Taylor touchdown, beautifully thrown ball to the outside where only his guy could get it on a perfectly timed. And the rest of the quarterbacks in college football. Daniel: Mm-hmm. Clint: have played far more. The coaches are letting them in and keeping them in to pad their stats and to keep them going. Daniel: Yeah. I mean to like to be fair, Darien Mensah, fifteen more attempts than Gunnar Stockton, played the same level of schedule as Gunnar Stockton has. Like the same level of schedule. Trendad Chambliss, to this point, played only a slightly more difficult schedule than Gunnar Stockton. To this point in the season. And has nearly double the number of attempts. Clint: By way, I think Charlotte is a dog to App State this weekend who Trinidad Chamblers just got done playing. Almost certain. Daniel: Charlotte is the worst FBS team in the country, just like Stanford is the worst power four team in the country. Clint: It's so what we're trying to say is of all the top quarterbacks, Gunnar Stockton has comparable statistics on the s one versus one. Because you want to keep Arch in the game well into the fourth quarter, well in the third quarter of these nobody schools, Texas State. Great. Awesome. You want Trinidad Chamblers to puff his chest house against Charlotte? Great. Good on you. ⁓ we're playing our fourth quarterback. Daniel: Yeah. Clint: In the snaps that your number one quarterback who wants to pat his stats and get his face all over a globe somewhere in Vegas, Gunnar Stockton is more yards per attempt right up there with Mensa, who by everybody's account is the Heisman winner right now. Gunnar Stockton is executing at a high level with incredible control over this offense. Kirby Smart and Mike Bobo are trusting him to do so. Same competition, less attempts. Same amount of yards. He's making the most out of all of this, Daniel. And it's it's evident these numbers back up what our eyeballs are telling us. Daniel: Yeah. Quarterbacks not named Gunnar Stockton against Tennessee State had 17 attempts in the game. Passing attempts. Quarterbacks not named Arch Manning against Texas State had seven attempts in the game. Arch Manning threw it. ⁓ Gunner Stockton was 15 of 16 versus Tennessee State. Arch Manning was 20 of Clint: ⁓ no. Daniel: Of twenty-seven versus Texas State. Guys, I know Texas State's better than Tennessee State. If you want to die on the hill of we played the juggernaut Texas State Bobcats, okay, cool. What Clinton's saying is even when Sark tries to pad Arch Manning's stats, he can't keep up. Clint: It's not possible to. Daniel: I'm not trying to say like like to ⁓ I'm not trying to make fun of the way someone looks. That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is look at Arch Manning's face. Ever, anytime. He always has the same facial expression on his face. And that facial expression is confused. Always. Look at his face. All the time. It Clint: Anytime. Lost. Daniel: In the freaking Viore commercial, he has the same look on his he's confused about what his lines are. I'm just telling you, Gunnar Stockton is the most underappreciated quarterback in college football. By a lot. Because he's not g he's not gonna get any of this Heisman love. Clint. Nobody's gonna be talking about Gunnar Stockton for the Heisman Trophy. And we've not even seen what he can do with his legs yet, which is a big part of his game. Clint: Ha ha. Mm mm. Mm-hmm. Daniel: As compared to some of these other quarterbacks, like I know Lenoris can run. I know that like some Trinidad can run. Like I know that some of these guys can run. But compared to guys like Arch Manning, compared to guys like CJ Carr, Gunnar Stockton much more athletic. He's gonna be able to do much more in the run game. Clint: He can. Yeah I yes. And not my words, but y everybody else's words. Do we have a Cam Coleman on our team who's the best transfer wide receiver that's ever been gotten? Do we have a Tony? Do we have a a do Daniel: Yeah. Do we have Jeremiah Smith? Clint: Everyone else's words is no that Georgia doesn't have a pass catcher. That's what the biggest question. B you guys don't I receive her that's a huge question, Marco. Okay, fine. Daniel: That's what you that's what everybody's been telling us. Is a it's a bunch of bums. It's a bunch it's a bunch of bums out there. Cool. Well then put some respect on Gunnar Stockton's name one time. Clint: So these stats that he's doing is with bums at receiver. Daniel: Bums. Doesn't have Cam Coleman. Doesn't have Cam Coleman to watch the ball go sailing over his head. Clint: Huh. No. Daniel: Fascinating. Clint: Gunnar Stockton put freaking respect on his name.
