- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, your love tester's busted. Go on and nickelback.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey buddy, have one on a half.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Hey, hey, this drink is delicious and my flood feels looser.
- 0:14Speaker 2: What do you call it? Well, it's called a flaming mo.
- 0:17Speaker 4: It's called a flaming moh. That's right, the flaming mo.
- 0:20Speaker 4: My name is Mo, and I invented it. That's why
- 0:22Speaker 4: it's called a flaming mole. What what are you looking at,
- 0:25Speaker 4: Homer R.
- 0:25Speaker 2: It's a flaming mo.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I'm mo.
- 0:27Speaker 5: Four finger discount, dude.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Everybody, welcome to four Finger Discount. And we are all
- 0:42Speaker 1: incredibly excited because this week we've gone all the way
- 0:45Speaker 1: back to season three. We thoughts the end of the year,
- 0:48Speaker 1: at the beginning of the year, depending on when you
- 0:49Speaker 1: listen to this episode, we thought we'll not do a celebration.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Let's not do a season twenty review. Let's save those
- 0:55Speaker 1: for twenty twenty five, an exciting year that's going to be.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Let's do a classic review. One of the all timers
- 1:01Speaker 1: of The Simpsons is in the top ten list of
- 1:04Speaker 1: so many online magazines and online websites like IgM and
- 1:07Speaker 1: Always people who constantly review the Simpsons. It is flaming Mos.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I'm Dano and I am Guy.
- 1:12Speaker 6: Yes, uh, it's season twenty is twenty twenty five's problem?
- 1:17Speaker 6: As Dan I said, we're going to either wrap up
- 1:19Speaker 6: the year or begin the year, because he was doing
- 1:22Speaker 6: a lot of calculus before we actually push the big
- 1:24Speaker 6: record button. Some of you hearing this in twenty twenty four,
- 1:27Speaker 6: someone twenty twenty five. But whatever year and whatever time,
- 1:31Speaker 6: whatever space, whatever frame of mind you're in, flaming Mos
- 1:35Speaker 6: it just makes everything better. I don't happiness, It's just
- 1:38Speaker 6: a flaming moad. I don't understand the science of it,
- 1:41Speaker 6: but flaming Mos makes it good.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Well, I just thought, what's a New Year's e? Theened
- 1:46Speaker 1: episode of the Simpsons, and this is not New Year's
- 1:48Speaker 1: E theme, but I thought, what are people doing during
- 1:50Speaker 1: the holiday season getting boozy? So let's do a bousy episode.
- 1:55Speaker 1: So flaming Mos. And I was surprised we hadn't already
- 1:57Speaker 1: gone back and revisited this one. To be completely honest.
- 2:00Speaker 1: For a guy on Springfield, that is true. And we
- 2:01Speaker 1: got on Springfield here, and as I was watching this,
- 2:03Speaker 1: I thought, I'm going to find somewhere where Ken Brockman,
- 2:06Speaker 1: says Guy and then say I'm Ken Blackman and this
- 2:08Speaker 1: is guy on Springfield. I can somehow I make that work.
- 2:11Speaker 1: We're going to call this guy on Springfield again. There's
- 2:12Speaker 1: not much you can't make work. So look, I imagine this
- 2:16Speaker 1: could happen. I'm pretty sure that it's some stage in
- 2:20Speaker 1: the many many episodes of The Simpsons and the many
- 2:22Speaker 1: that Kent.
- 2:25Speaker 6: That Ken Brockman has appeared on that Yeah, he has
- 2:27Speaker 6: said the word guy. At some stage. You can do
- 2:29Speaker 6: your editing magic.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Or what I can do is I can get a
- 2:32Speaker 1: word that begins with and then just add it to that.
- 2:36Speaker 1: I you guy, You're just you're making it too complicated.
- 2:41Speaker 1: But we're here just like a flaming moment, which seems
- 2:43Speaker 1: like a very complicated dream. It does, indeed. Yeah, but
- 2:45Speaker 1: we're here to review flamingos, as we said. And yeah,
- 2:47Speaker 1: I'm so excited because I I always do this. I
- 2:50Speaker 1: forget how good these episodes are because I don't revisit
- 2:52Speaker 1: the older ones anywhere near as often as I should.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I think when you've got kids, that doesn't help because
- 2:56Speaker 1: the kids always want to watch their shows. I mean,
- 2:58Speaker 1: the kids do watch the Simpsons lot out, but all
- 3:00Speaker 1: of the Simpsons. I still find it's funny when I
- 3:04Speaker 1: always talked about my mum's band of the Simpsons until
- 3:06Speaker 1: I was six, and I watch the Simpsons now and
- 3:08Speaker 1: go I kind of get it now.
- 3:11Speaker 6: Well even yeah, even in this episode, I mean there's
- 3:14Speaker 6: a bit of sort of I won't say adult content.
- 3:16Speaker 1: But not a kids This isn't a kid's episode behind
- 3:19Speaker 1: you mean, oh, absolutely not. I mean I have no
- 3:21Speaker 1: idea what's going on, even early on.
- 3:23Speaker 6: With Bart walking past the TV when it's on Springfield,
- 3:26Speaker 6: which is you know, pretty racy, one might say rybald infotainment.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I mean to hear a young young boys whoa DNA?
- 3:36Speaker 1: I mean ten, So he's entering that phase of his life.
- 3:38Speaker 1: But he still finds that he says, all teena and
- 3:41Speaker 1: then he says other girls are trying to kiss me.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I guess because they're the girls from school there. Yeah, yes,
- 3:46Speaker 1: exactly that you don't have that screen remove of Well, no,
- 3:51Speaker 1: they're women on TV. That's wholly different. Yeah. So what
- 3:53Speaker 1: do you think of Flamy Mo's overall though, because can
- 3:57Speaker 1: very easily taken if you watch this episode, be seen
- 3:59Speaker 1: as a villain. Right, he stole Homer's idea and when
- 4:02Speaker 1: I was a kid, I always thought when I watched this,
- 4:05Speaker 1: Moe's the bad guy and he does bad things. But
- 4:07Speaker 1: at least they established at the start that Moe's business
- 4:10Speaker 1: is really bad, really devastated, so it gives some justification
- 4:16Speaker 1: to his desperation as to why he would do so.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Doesn't make it right, No, at least they explained someone
- 4:20Speaker 1: like Moe who desperately needs his business to thrive, why
- 4:24Speaker 1: he would do this. And then by the end, Moe
- 4:26Speaker 1: was willingly going to sell the idea and give half
- 4:29Speaker 1: the profits to Homer. So that was his what would
- 4:32Speaker 1: you call he's not his hero moment, but he's his
- 4:35Speaker 1: face turn his face turned. Yes. But by the end
- 4:37Speaker 1: of the episode, you're thinking, oh, okay, he is a
- 4:39Speaker 1: good friend to Homer in because he was going to
- 4:41Speaker 1: do the right thing by the end. That's true. That's true.
- 4:44Speaker 6: I mean, yeah, look at I think it is very
- 4:47Speaker 6: easy to view Moe was the villain in this episode.
- 4:53Speaker 6: Certainly you're saying about the escape patch, where you're saying, oh,
- 4:55Speaker 6: his business is not doing all that great.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I don't know if it necessarily justifies at all that much.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I mean, he really jumps in thevery very quickly say no, no,
- 5:03Speaker 1: it's blamy mo. It's made by mole because I'm me,
- 5:06Speaker 1: I mow and I made it. It's that was a
- 5:12Speaker 1: pretty good mole on my part actually, I mean even
- 5:14Speaker 1: by my standard savvy businessman, savvy business man. Yeah, and
- 5:19Speaker 1: there's no room for friends in business. How many?
- 5:22Speaker 6: How many times have we heard since Jerry McGuire came
- 5:24Speaker 6: out in ninety six, it's not show friends, it's show
- 5:26Speaker 6: business exactly.
- 5:27Speaker 1: So yeah, what do you think overall that of just
- 5:29Speaker 1: the story of this new invention comes around, everyone's just
- 5:33Speaker 1: like that, it's the flavor of the month.
- 5:36Speaker 6: Well, you're speaking to the right man here, because you
- 5:38Speaker 6: know how many times have just like limited various Yeah, I.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Mean, I mean there was no limit. There was no
- 5:45Speaker 1: limited with this, but it was. But it's the hot
- 5:48Speaker 1: new thing. Well, it's like when I drive down We've
- 5:49Speaker 1: mentioned before, you said they've got a great selection of
- 5:52Speaker 1: foods or coffees or whatever. But the place near the
- 5:54Speaker 1: Coals and Shannon Avenue here, the little cafe, the ever
- 5:56Speaker 1: we drive past it, the line is out the door,
- 5:58Speaker 1: and I'm thinking, is it that good or just the
- 6:02Speaker 1: idea of I want to be part of the crew.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I think it's partly I want to be part of
- 6:06Speaker 1: the crew, although I think that place has kind of
- 6:08Speaker 1: earned its Bonafard's by now. I mean, if you want
- 6:11Speaker 1: me to speak specifically about that place. Look, it's tiny,
- 6:14Speaker 1: but it does make good coffee. The staff are always really,
- 6:17Speaker 1: really friendly. They've got a good selection of grub. It's
- 6:20Speaker 1: like and and a nice place out the back to
- 6:22Speaker 1: go and sit. I mean it's like, you know, partly
- 6:23Speaker 1: market garden, partly nice place to spend a nice sunny day.
- 6:28Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean they're they're doing well, but yeah,
- 6:30Speaker 1: I get part but partly Yeah. Well, sorry, I had to.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I had to street team for Funk. I'm gonna spoil
- 6:35Speaker 1: one of my trivia questions. I've got a lot of
- 6:37Speaker 1: them for this one. Here. It's not they've got a
- 6:38Speaker 1: bernad on the front gate. You know. I enjoyed, well
- 6:43Speaker 1: it may I.
- 6:45Speaker 6: Enjoyed this episode so much that I actually didn't write
- 6:46Speaker 6: down that many trivia questions. I was like, really, okay, yeah,
- 6:49Speaker 6: it's like I'm just enjoying going with the flow of
- 6:52Speaker 6: flaming those. Having said that, there's a new cafe just
- 6:55Speaker 6: across the street from Funk naricoles.
- 6:59Speaker 1: It used to wait out the recipe. It used to
- 7:01Speaker 1: it used to be got hunk. I went there because
- 7:06Speaker 1: I was driving pass was like, you know what.
- 7:08Speaker 6: After we recorded, Yes, I was like, I'm gonna go
- 7:10Speaker 6: get a kebab from Sam's in town driving Sam and
- 7:15Speaker 6: it's like.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Under new management and it looks like it's I'll go
- 7:20Speaker 1: and try it. It was okay.
- 7:22Speaker 6: I think I've read something the other days like it'd
- 7:24Speaker 6: be more disappointing than when you stray from your old takeaway.
- 7:27Speaker 1: There are many things watch the point. I actually said
- 7:29Speaker 1: this to Nicola the other day. I said, I pulled
- 7:31Speaker 1: myself up quite often on the podcast now saying there's
- 7:33Speaker 1: nothing worth actually know what. There are many things worse,
- 7:36Speaker 1: but it's still very annoying. And you're right though, when
- 7:38Speaker 1: the price of my favorite place to get supeaki from
- 7:42Speaker 1: it's just gone through the roof to the point where
- 7:44Speaker 1: I'm going, I don't want to spend fifty bucks on
- 7:46Speaker 1: two chickens souv larkis. It just seems like a lot
- 7:48Speaker 1: of money when all you're getting is the soup larky,
- 7:50Speaker 1: like one of us each, you know. So we went
- 7:52Speaker 1: somewhere else and I went, it's it's good, and you
- 7:56Speaker 1: know what, it's fourteen dollars less, and you know what,
- 7:59Speaker 1: I'm going to go here for now on it. But
- 8:00Speaker 1: I feel like I'm cheating on the place. But you know, understandable,
- 8:04Speaker 1: fourteen dollars is a lot of money twenty twenty four
- 8:06Speaker 1: for people who want to buy some bread and some milk,
- 8:08Speaker 1: and that's it. That's what you're going to pull it. Yeah.
- 8:12Speaker 6: I like the idea of, oh, it's the new joint
- 8:14Speaker 6: in town, because we've all been susceptible to that. Yeah,
- 8:17Speaker 6: the new nightclub, the new nightclub, the new pub, the
- 8:20Speaker 6: new restaurant, whatever.
- 8:23Speaker 1: This could be the place, this could be this could
- 8:25Speaker 1: be it.
- 8:25Speaker 6: Yeah, this could define my identity. This could be my regular,
- 8:28Speaker 6: This could be my cheers, this could be my mos,
- 8:30Speaker 6: this could be my place.
- 8:32Speaker 1: And after about eighteen months two years ago, why are
- 8:35Speaker 1: we still coming here? It's not that great? Is there?
- 8:38Speaker 1: Is there a new place? It was a new place
- 8:39Speaker 1: opening up in a few months. Let's try that place. Well,
- 8:41Speaker 1: let's try that place. Absolutely.
- 8:42Speaker 6: I mean not to name names or malign establishments, but
- 8:46Speaker 6: you know, I was talking about steakhouses in Geelong with
- 8:48Speaker 6: the you know friends and loved Ones the other night.
- 8:51Speaker 6: And there's a place that used to be the steak
- 8:54Speaker 6: Joint in Geelong.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Now it's the most expensive, and people are going a
- 9:01Speaker 1: stage joint that I do not particularly want to free. Yeah,
- 9:05Speaker 1: it feel like they're living off the rep a little bit.
- 9:07Speaker 6: Absolutely, and more people, more and more people are saying
- 9:10Speaker 6: there's more and more people are like, oh, yeah, you
- 9:12Speaker 6: know what, it's not that great, So times change state joint.
- 9:17Speaker 1: He's trying to put down the competition early. He's opening
- 9:19Speaker 1: up a new state joint. That's I'm planting c.
- 9:26Speaker 6: Yeah, but everybody jumps on the bandwagon. I mean, yeah,
- 9:29Speaker 6: we saw the cues went around the block for flaming mos.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Most just regular old modes. Good for Mo, even he
- 9:35Speaker 1: done a bad thing, I still felt nice that Most
- 9:37Speaker 1: finely getting something because he's always been there when Homer
- 9:40Speaker 1: needed him. Right, that's true, and I get that he's
- 9:42Speaker 1: still on Homer's idea, But Homer has relied on Mo
- 9:45Speaker 1: for many Granted, Moment profited from Homer's alcoholism, but he
- 9:49Speaker 1: was an ear for Homer to vent his frustrations on
- 9:52Speaker 1: and when Homa just wanted to get stuff out. Has
- 9:54Speaker 1: always been the one I think, you know, I think
- 9:56Speaker 1: most first line, this is what's the matter Homer. That's
- 9:59Speaker 1: he's the guy that Homer goes to talk to and
- 10:01Speaker 1: get his feelings out because he's got no one else.
- 10:03Speaker 1: He can't talk to his friends, he's embarrassed, you can't
- 10:05Speaker 1: talk to his family, doesn't want to talk about his
- 10:07Speaker 1: family to his family. So because I mean, therapy might
- 10:10Speaker 1: be the answer, but he goes to most, as many
- 10:11Speaker 1: men do, and the bartenders.
- 10:14Speaker 6: That's your unofficial that's your unofficial shrink right there. I mean,
- 10:16Speaker 6: your partender has to be many, many things, probably cheaper.
- 10:19Speaker 6: Oh yeah, yeah, you've got to be a priest. You've
- 10:21Speaker 6: got to be a shrink. You've got to be manner
- 10:23Speaker 6: of confidants.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Yeah, so I thought, you know, most somewhat deserved this for.
- 10:29Speaker 6: A while, may deserve success, but you know, do you
- 10:32Speaker 6: deserve success if it is ill gotten? The thing is,
- 10:35Speaker 6: though he obtained by fraudulent or even or semi shady.
- 10:38Speaker 1: But he did still the idea. And as you said before,
- 10:40Speaker 1: it was a very spur of the moment. It's it's
- 10:42Speaker 1: like he made the decision then and there. He didn't
- 10:44Speaker 1: think this, This wasn't a well plotted out, I'm going
- 10:47Speaker 1: to steal the idea that this was. I'm going to
- 10:50Speaker 1: take advantage of the situation. And as he thought about
- 10:53Speaker 1: it throughout the episode, it's like he still wanted Homer
- 10:55Speaker 1: as a friend, but he couldn't turn down the money.
- 10:58Speaker 1: And I want let's get to some of my favorite
- 11:00Speaker 1: So I want to talk about on my favorites now.
- 11:02Speaker 1: My favorite favorite moments. One that I really liked, and
- 11:06Speaker 1: it's not necessarily the funny moments that I liked throughout
- 11:08Speaker 1: this one. It's the ones where Homer is saying, you
- 11:11Speaker 1: just lost yourself a customer, right, And as that's happening
- 11:15Speaker 1: always people are trying to talk over home. Yes, so
- 11:17Speaker 1: Moe's getting lost in all this new business that he's
- 11:20Speaker 1: underware that he's not just losing his customer, he's losing
- 11:23Speaker 1: one of his best friends. Yes, And I thought that
- 11:25Speaker 1: moment there, I've never really appreciated it so much in
- 11:28Speaker 1: as much as I did for this review, where Homer's
- 11:30Speaker 1: just being drowned out in the business and the sound
- 11:32Speaker 1: of all these people, when really, if Moke could hear him,
- 11:35Speaker 1: maybe it would have gotten through to him. Because Moe
- 11:36Speaker 1: couldn't hear because of all the people screaming, but he's yeah,
- 11:39Speaker 1: you've just lost yourself a customer. I just I really
- 11:42Speaker 1: like that scene. It's a good point. Yeah, I'd never
- 11:44Speaker 1: really thought of it that way until you elucidated it
- 11:47Speaker 1: so eloquently. I knew, because it wasn't until Collett said,
- 11:51Speaker 1: you know what, you probably should give him half the money.
- 11:54Speaker 1: He followed it pretty quickly. It's not he fought against him,
- 11:57Speaker 1: but no, no way, Yeah I deserve it. It's just like,
- 12:00Speaker 1: you're right, the moment you actually sat down and thought
- 12:02Speaker 1: about it, you went, yeah, right, yeah, I've gotta do
- 12:05Speaker 1: the right thing.
- 12:06Speaker 6: Yeah, it wasn't the afterglow of spending a little time
- 12:10Speaker 6: with Collette.
- 12:11Speaker 1: A happy hour. I was like happy hour, What a man.
- 12:15Speaker 1: But let's talk about Collette. So there's a lot of
- 12:17Speaker 1: discussing with Collette. So she was written to be the
- 12:19Speaker 1: Diane because this is a lot of Cheers parodies.
- 12:21Speaker 6: Threat well, a very very deliberate and yeah direct Cheers
- 12:28Speaker 6: parody with the opening credits.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Yeah again, another one of those things that when you're
- 12:32Speaker 1: a kid, you don't really realize what's going. It's just
- 12:34Speaker 1: a really catchy song. But it's one of my favorite
- 12:37Speaker 1: parodies of the Simpsons of it don one of my
- 12:38Speaker 1: favorite songs of the Simpsons ever did this one and the
- 12:40Speaker 1: words are written by Jeff Martin, just a parody of
- 12:42Speaker 1: the Cheers theme song. But Collette, right, So she was
- 12:44Speaker 1: written to be Diane, who left the show maybe like
- 12:47Speaker 1: season four or five.
- 12:48Speaker 6: About five seasons in yeah, show long leaves Cheers to
- 12:52Speaker 6: see a movie career. She'd been in a few movies
- 12:54Speaker 6: prior to prior to be starring in Cheers. But Cheers,
- 12:59Speaker 6: of course, is the one that really sort of kickstarts
- 13:01Speaker 6: it for her.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Yes, okay, And so there was a lot more to
- 13:05Speaker 1: the story here between mo and Diane, who was going
- 13:07Speaker 1: to play the Sam role. She was going to play
- 13:09Speaker 1: the Diane role Collette and I say, Moan Diam Collete sorry,
- 13:14Speaker 1: And they left it out because they said it just
- 13:16Speaker 1: it just didn't quite work. I do feel like there
- 13:19Speaker 1: is an element of when you watch this going it
- 13:21Speaker 1: feels like this is meant to be something, but like
- 13:23Speaker 1: it doesn't quite It's like they couldn't just completely remove it.
- 13:27Speaker 1: They had to include it in some way for the
- 13:29Speaker 1: story to work. I get where you're coming from. I mean, personally,
- 13:32Speaker 1: I very much liked it.
- 13:33Speaker 6: When she first showed up, she's, yeah, she's what's the
- 13:38Speaker 6: word auditioning for the job, she's applying for the job. Yeah,
- 13:42Speaker 6: but also being very sort of smart man. Whether that's
- 13:44Speaker 6: very Diane Chambers. But I mean, if we're talking about
- 13:47Speaker 6: favorite moments that.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Whole what's the club mo bartender's do it to your
- 13:54Speaker 1: puke or something like that's questions what did I say?
- 13:57Speaker 1: It's like coartenders do it to your bath? Do it
- 13:59Speaker 1: to your bath? Yes? No, no, above that storeboard drollery.
- 14:03Speaker 1: And then I felt very sickcomy banter that bit, didn't it. Yeah,
- 14:07Speaker 1: but also the high end kind of sitcom banter. Yeah,
- 14:10Speaker 1: but Cheers specialized in. I mean, yeah, when he's talking
- 14:14Speaker 1: about a better about I prefer tight beak. It's in
- 14:17Speaker 1: someplace hot. I really enjoyed that. Now, apparently I don't
- 14:22Speaker 1: know if this if the character of coll it was
- 14:26Speaker 1: was written for Catherine O'Hara actually performed something they decided
- 14:31Speaker 1: it's not quite working the whole lot. Yeah, apparently she's
- 14:33Speaker 1: still credit at the end Katherine O'Hara in the credits.
- 14:36Speaker 6: Oh okay, I didn't see her name at all because
- 14:38Speaker 6: it was actually all the character was actually voiced in
- 14:41Speaker 6: the end by a star or a cosman.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Was a Joeanne Martin. Now it's Joan Harris. It's Joan Harris.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Excuse meself, Yeah, who's the voice of the A lot
- 14:48Speaker 1: of Bart's friends like Wendell, Lewis Richard or the kids
- 14:52Speaker 1: at school that aren't main characters, but you know them.
- 14:55Speaker 1: If you see Bart's friends at school that we never
- 14:57Speaker 1: see all that often, she's she's a voice of Martin's mother.
- 14:59Speaker 1: She's so she's I'm going to give Joe and Harris
- 15:02Speaker 1: a lower, low key MVP. Charlotau. I mean, I really
- 15:05Speaker 1: liked her in this episode. I really like the voice
- 15:08Speaker 1: work she did.
- 15:09Speaker 6: Just and if you if she's voicing those characters, as
- 15:12Speaker 6: you say, it's like, I like your work.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I appreciate that they were willing to get someone in
- 15:18Speaker 1: like Katain O'Hara right realized it wasn't working. Still have
- 15:20Speaker 1: the balls to say, sorry, Catherine, We'll still credit ya
- 15:23Speaker 1: because you put in the effort, you record all the lines,
- 15:25Speaker 1: but it's just not working. That's true.
- 15:26Speaker 6: I mean, Katherine O'Hara has always been great. She was
- 15:28Speaker 6: a cast member of their CTV The Canadian equivalent of SNL.
- 15:33Speaker 6: By this stage, she's already in Beatle Juice and Home Alone.
- 15:36Speaker 1: She's coming off Home Alone with this episode. Well known,
- 15:38Speaker 1: not exactly a huge star, but everyone knows the mother
- 15:42Speaker 1: from Home Alone. That's why many of the nice most
- 15:45Speaker 1: people now know her as Shit's Creak. She's Creek. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 15:49Speaker 1: but she's still Hey, it's Kevin's mum and Shit's Creek.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Who's I mean, she's crazy, really popular, but everyone's really
- 15:57Speaker 1: watching Home Alone. No one's I say, no one. That's it.
- 16:00Speaker 1: That's overstated. You're overstating again. Ship's Creek felt like very
- 16:05Speaker 1: much like a flammy most kind of deal where it
- 16:06Speaker 1: got really hot really quickly and it just fizzled out.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I know the show ended, but everyone was talking about
- 16:11Speaker 1: Ship's Creek. Now he's never here, it brought up anymore. Yeah,
- 16:14Speaker 1: that's true.
- 16:15Speaker 6: I mean it had its sort of I guess second
- 16:17Speaker 6: wind or second life life with a lot of memes
- 16:20Speaker 6: and things like that.
- 16:21Speaker 1: You still see that to some degree. You see a
- 16:23Speaker 1: lot of it. Was David right the sun, Dan Levy
- 16:28Speaker 1: who's the son character was David anyway, but you've got
- 16:32Speaker 1: your four main he was the most meaned one, yes,
- 16:36Speaker 1: and get the feeling I could be wrong here, but
- 16:39Speaker 1: this is a suspicion that I have that suspicions shifts
- 16:43Speaker 1: Creek was sort of because a lot of shows are made.
- 16:46Speaker 6: Like this now for the kids, in that we've got
- 16:49Speaker 6: to have some memorable moments.
- 16:51Speaker 1: And the actors really realize that talk shows now aren't
- 16:53Speaker 1: talk shows. They're just they're moments.
- 16:55Speaker 6: Oh yeah, absolutely, but certainly, you know, scripted drums and
- 16:57Speaker 6: scripted comedies are going to have moments where they have
- 17:00Speaker 6: a moment where you're sort of looking at the camera
- 17:02Speaker 6: or you're pulling a certain face or going uh huh,
- 17:05Speaker 6: because that can be like anytime someone says something on
- 17:08Speaker 6: Twitter or Blue Sky, Blue Sky, it's not really happening.
- 17:13Speaker 1: You finally realize this.
- 17:15Speaker 6: Many people are saying that, yeah, anytime we want someone
- 17:19Speaker 6: to agree with something, rather than say I agree, get
- 17:22Speaker 6: them to pull the face. Yeah, face could be anything,
- 17:27Speaker 6: you know what I mean. But yeah, Katherine Haa, I
- 17:30Speaker 6: mean yeah it is. As you said, it's pretty it's
- 17:32Speaker 6: pretty ballsy, and it shows a commitment to the.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Quality of the show. There's no way they would do
- 17:38Speaker 1: this now.
- 17:39Speaker 6: It feels bad to say, oh, our commitment quality is
- 17:42Speaker 6: so much that we will cut Katherine O'Hara. That's not
- 17:44Speaker 6: what I mean. It's more like she's great, but it's
- 17:47Speaker 6: not quite right. It's not what we need.
- 17:48Speaker 1: This even by the team here, how many times have
- 17:51Speaker 1: we reviewed, never said and gone that guess role just
- 17:55Speaker 1: didn't work or just didn't it didn't. It just it
- 17:58Speaker 1: just feels like, now, well there's no quality control. But
- 18:01Speaker 1: it's just we've got a guest start. Doesn't matter if
- 18:03Speaker 1: it works, We've got the guest star. I guess.
- 18:05Speaker 6: So yeah, I mean by season three, I mean the
- 18:07Speaker 6: show has already sort of gathered my manitument. It's becoming
- 18:09Speaker 6: a very very popular bit of a pop culture phenomenon.
- 18:11Speaker 6: But yeah, I don't is it at the stage where
- 18:13Speaker 6: it's starting to like we can pick and choose or
- 18:15Speaker 6: we've got people lining up to be on the show.
- 18:18Speaker 1: And I say this because I watched that New Christmas special.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Oh come on all ye faith right, do you want
- 18:23Speaker 1: to give them a peek behind the curtain and say,
- 18:25Speaker 1: well no, no, So I sent your message when I
- 18:27Speaker 1: was like five minutes in. I said, it's got I
- 18:29Speaker 1: said to Papsture should review it, right and then I
- 18:32Speaker 1: watched the first five minutes and it's his god awful right.
- 18:34Speaker 1: I get this guy in called Darren Brown, who I
- 18:37Speaker 1: had never heard of, and I guarantee probably eighty percent
- 18:39Speaker 1: of the audience, if not Moore, had never heard of. Right,
- 18:41Speaker 1: he's a British the name he plays mind illusions and yeah,
- 18:47Speaker 1: like a hypnotist or something alight. He plays such a
- 18:50Speaker 1: role in the episode. I'm just thinking, what are we
- 18:52Speaker 1: doing here? Why is this guy in twenty twenty four
- 18:54Speaker 1: playing such a key blah blah blah blah. And I
- 18:56Speaker 1: watched it. I've got to the end and I went,
- 18:57Speaker 1: this was fine. You know what. You know what, I
- 19:00Speaker 1: guarantee I will go on social media tomorrow and all
- 19:03Speaker 1: the all the buddy fucking reviewers, I'll say how great
- 19:06Speaker 1: is because I want the access to the Simpsons people.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Screen rant, I'm gonna call you out. Oh the Simpsons
- 19:11Speaker 1: Christmas Special review? Oh, come on all year. Faithful is
- 19:14Speaker 1: an unforgettable master class an animated comedy storytelling. Fuck off
- 19:18Speaker 1: screen Rant. It was fine, but an unforgettable master class.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Stop fucking jerking their chain. That's the problem is that
- 19:26Speaker 1: a lot of the people who run the Simpsons are
- 19:28Speaker 1: on social media and they're reading everything, and people have
- 19:31Speaker 1: could in Now, if I talk up the new Simpsons,
- 19:34Speaker 1: they'll pay attention to me. Okay, well, in that case,
- 19:37Speaker 1: allow us to respond with another meme, another tram, like
- 19:42Speaker 1: I don't mind. It was fun, it was good, right,
- 19:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it was Okay, it wasn't an unforgettable master class.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well.
- 19:50Speaker 6: It was always It was always sort of a rookie
- 19:52Speaker 6: move for reviewers or journalists or whatever. When you're first
- 19:56Speaker 6: starting out, it's like everything's either five star or one star.
- 19:59Speaker 6: Everything's either the best or the worst, because that's how
- 20:00Speaker 6: you make an impression, you know. The further I got
- 20:03Speaker 6: along in my reviewing career was realizing, yeah, most stuff's
- 20:07Speaker 6: three and a half. Most stuff is three and a
- 20:09Speaker 6: half and five. Most stuff is room temperature and that's fine. Yeah,
- 20:12Speaker 6: and there's good and there's bad in it. How you
- 20:14Speaker 6: convey that to your readership or your audience is like,
- 20:17Speaker 6: you know what, this isn't the best thing you're going
- 20:18Speaker 6: to see, but it's not the worst. You'll enjoy this part.
- 20:21Speaker 6: This part needs work, you know, or in my opinion,
- 20:24Speaker 6: so there you go. Yeah, but no, with the way
- 20:27Speaker 6: the the way life online is these days.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Like another time, I'm forgot of a master class on screen?
- 20:34Speaker 1: What do you do? That kind of sacks or worst
- 20:36Speaker 1: episode it? Yeah, so if we reviewed it, I wouldn't
- 20:42Speaker 1: say it's terrible. I wouldn't say it's a masterclass. I
- 20:45Speaker 1: would just review it for what it is. It's twenty
- 20:47Speaker 1: twenty four Simpsons. It's fine, that's all. It's fine. It's fine.
- 20:53Speaker 1: It's not going to blow you're going to blow your
- 20:54Speaker 1: load over it. You're not going to be furious at
- 20:57Speaker 1: it for the most part. But it's fine. It's always
- 21:01Speaker 1: let's let's not go crazy, let's not look for access
- 21:03Speaker 1: to things. Just let's be honest with people. How do
- 21:06Speaker 1: you know what I'd blow my load of? I don't
- 21:08Speaker 1: want to know. Funny, most favorite moments, I've got a few, Yeah,
- 21:16Speaker 1: what do you want? I'd enjoy by being jinxed. The
- 21:23Speaker 1: kids have just worked that out, the jinxing thing, because
- 21:25Speaker 1: learning from school. Now, holy does it? So they both
- 21:27Speaker 1: jinx me and I'll go I'll go along, okay, son, Yeah,
- 21:32Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, I'll go along. And then and
- 21:34Speaker 1: they're having fun. After about a minute that I'm like,
- 21:38Speaker 1: I give them a look like.
- 21:39Speaker 6: Yes, yeah, but yeah, why should I do that?
- 21:43Speaker 1: My lad found that very very funny. If you're a
- 21:45Speaker 1: fan of everything we do here at four Finger Discamp,
- 21:47Speaker 1: but you're kind of hearing these pesky ads, then you'll

- 22:08Speaker 1: for as little as one dollar per month at patreon
- 22:11Speaker 1: dot com slash four for a discount. Yeah, I like
- 22:14Speaker 1: the call it. Oh.
- 22:16Speaker 6: I don't know how the guys at The Simpsons felt
- 22:18Speaker 6: about Aerosmith. I mean I thought it was they.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Probably they were the first band to appear on the show.
- 22:22Speaker 6: They probably, but the way they animate Stephen Tyler.
- 22:26Speaker 1: When he says you've rack.
- 22:28Speaker 6: Like a ghoul and also listening to of course, I'm
- 22:33Speaker 6: aware of Aerosmith, but I think my first real exposure
- 22:36Speaker 6: to Aerosmith, as even as a young man, was the
- 22:39Speaker 6: mashup of I walked this way with you know, with
- 22:42Speaker 6: Aerosmith and run DMC.
- 22:44Speaker 1: That game that resurgence.
- 22:46Speaker 6: Yeah, oh, it's an original song by Aerosmith. You can
- 22:49Speaker 6: listen to it's like and then you listen to Young
- 22:51Speaker 6: Last at the end, it's like, Wow. Aerosmith had a
- 22:53Speaker 6: lot of songs about getting it on the young chicks.
- 22:57Speaker 6: I mean, admittedly they're making move they're making music for
- 22:59Speaker 6: teenage boys, play the hits.
- 23:02Speaker 1: But the same time, I know you should still be
- 23:05Speaker 1: doing this. There's a there's a stage of your life,
- 23:07Speaker 1: Steven Tyler. So that song Young Last at the end,
- 23:10Speaker 1: they re recorded a condensed shorter version purely for the credits.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Good for them. And so you'll notice there's a guy
- 23:16Speaker 1: sitting in between them at the table at the booth
- 23:18Speaker 1: of Moe's who has glasses on I think long hair.
- 23:21Speaker 1: That's actually I want to hopefully pronouncing this correctly, John Kalandner, right,
- 23:26Speaker 1: who was a famous talent rep for music for musicians
- 23:30Speaker 1: and whatnot. He was the first talent rep for Geffen
- 23:34Speaker 1: Jeff Geffen Records. Yeah, so he had Aerosmith. I think
- 23:38Speaker 1: he brought to me page over to Geffen. So he
- 23:40Speaker 1: he's like the top dog and they said, we'll come on,
- 23:43Speaker 1: but we want John to be appearing on the show
- 23:45Speaker 1: as well. That's nice. I'm pretty sure John was like,
- 23:47Speaker 1: give me on the Simpsons. The other says he's just there.
- 23:51Speaker 1: And also there's a line and I'm surprised the writers
- 23:54Speaker 1: didn't know this. I guess that is issue rock band rockers,
- 23:57Speaker 1: but they don't want to come up on stage at
- 23:59Speaker 1: the start when they're first there at most and most
- 24:01Speaker 1: says look free pickled eggs. Right, the original line was
- 24:04Speaker 1: free beers. And they got up a line and they
- 24:05Speaker 1: said rashly sober, now can we not do that? Please?
- 24:10Speaker 1: And I like that they use because the pickled eggs
- 24:14Speaker 1: at MO having a recurring game for a while, I have,
- 24:16Speaker 1: haven't they? So the free picked eggs. They came up
- 24:17Speaker 1: on stage and sang with mo and good for ma
- 24:20Speaker 1: getting up theyre sing and walk this Way? And what
- 24:22Speaker 1: was a big song? Even still ninety one big? That
- 24:24Speaker 1: was eighty seven ish, I don't think so.
- 24:27Speaker 6: Yeah, I think I was probably still in high school
- 24:28Speaker 6: when it when it came out, Walk this Way?
- 24:30Speaker 1: When did it come out? So? Aerosmith's version was ninety
- 24:35Speaker 1: seventy five. The re release was in okay, says in
- 24:39Speaker 1: nineteen eighty six. So yes, they originally released it in
- 24:41Speaker 1: seventy five Aerosmith, and they re recorded it with run
- 24:44Speaker 1: DMC for Walk This Way in eighty six, so five
- 24:48Speaker 1: years after. So people are still talking about it. People
- 24:50Speaker 1: still listening to it. Oh yeah, oh looking out of
- 24:52Speaker 1: any sort of you play it now. People still love
- 24:54Speaker 1: that song. Absolute kids love. It's just a great song.
- 24:56Speaker 6: You got a weddings or sort of nightclubs for the
- 24:59Speaker 6: over twenty eights and yeah, Walk This Way comes on.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Backing up, you dispute is I say that joke every
- 25:07Speaker 1: day right in this house. So you know when they
- 25:08Speaker 1: say Simpsons quotes, this is a Simpsons quote. But we
- 25:11Speaker 1: when we are lighting the stove, the electric stove every time,
- 25:16Speaker 1: okay this and Nicholas like, you're ever gonna stop doing it?
- 25:20Speaker 1: I'm like, you'll miss it if I do every Yeah,
- 25:24Speaker 1: if they stop, He's like, ah, you know, Nicholas things
- 25:27Speaker 1: every time I go, I will miss it. If she doesn't,
- 25:30Speaker 1: if she wasn't here, I would miss hearing her say it.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Of course. Yeah, oh yeah. The minute you stop doing
- 25:35Speaker 1: your dumb in jokes, it's not a good feeling. I
- 25:42Speaker 1: love it. Do you what? Also? I love I don't
- 25:46Speaker 1: know how often we're doing what a lord? But huge ass?
- 25:48Speaker 1: What the lord? Huge ass? Was? What a lord in
- 25:52Speaker 1: He's probably called young man.
- 25:54Speaker 6: He's probably caught so much flat for his name. But
- 25:57Speaker 6: he has just become very very zen with it, accepted it,
- 26:00Speaker 6: accepted it and rolls with it.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Because if you get angry at it, I just keep
- 26:03Speaker 1: doing it. They will. Indeed, so you jass just using
- 26:06Speaker 1: jiu jitsu on the phone prank. It's just nice seeing
- 26:08Speaker 1: bucket foiled. He's like, look they're left with you, Like, hey,
- 26:12Speaker 1: look we've all been there. It's all good. Yeah, what
- 26:15Speaker 1: a guy. I loved missus Kay in this Oh yeah,
- 26:18Speaker 1: I mean, obviously she's asking how to have an affair,
- 26:20Speaker 1: but hope I mean, and I mean that in a
- 26:23Speaker 1: very sex positive fashion. I love missus k. I love
- 26:25Speaker 1: her a lot of the older I get, the more
- 26:27Speaker 1: I love her, but just her with the come and
- 26:29Speaker 1: get it missus Kay. And of course there are a.
- 26:34Speaker 6: Few bits from from this episode that I've just entered
- 26:37Speaker 6: into memology or certainly guys personal favorites. I mean, how
- 26:42Speaker 6: many times have I said that's all right? I was
- 26:44Speaker 6: thinking about simpledanic.
- 26:46Speaker 1: I thought of you second us all that, but also, yeah,
- 26:50Speaker 1: Homer getting all upset and then being super sarcastic and
- 26:55Speaker 1: being the magical man from happy Land who lives in
- 26:57Speaker 1: a Gundrob house on while it was in this episode. Yeah,
- 27:00Speaker 1: it's such an iconic moment, isn't it. It's really good.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I've always enjoyed that. By the way, I've been sarcastic. Well,
- 27:05Speaker 1: dird love that. I really liked the dig at Shelley
- 27:09Speaker 1: long here. So she has since left cheers, right, that's
- 27:13Speaker 1: what they've heard in here. But the line of just
- 27:14Speaker 1: have to pursue a movie for Curia movie career. Frankly,
- 27:17Speaker 1: I think she was better off here well played or
- 27:20Speaker 1: Shelley for their movie. Creer didn't take off afterwards? No,
- 27:25Speaker 1: not really, I mean yeah, she very rarely does. When
- 27:28Speaker 1: you're in a huge sitcom, can you branch of into movies?
- 27:31Speaker 1: Even the Friends cast. Jennifer Innison's done well for herself.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Matthew Perry made a few movies. But Elden comes up
- 27:36Speaker 1: a movie star. No, no, so you've got what's his name? Ross?
- 27:39Speaker 1: What's his name? David Truman? He I'm thinking of Raymond
- 27:42Speaker 1: Raymond was the voice from I Sage. So David s
- 27:44Speaker 1: Troms done, not that he has to do anything. Both
- 27:46Speaker 1: of you even tried matt LeBlanc Tribe was Lost in Space.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Didn't work.
- 27:50Speaker 6: Anyone that they made where they were like star vehicles, Yeah,
- 27:53Speaker 6: not many of them were.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Missi Caudro had a sitcom for a while which didn't
- 27:56Speaker 1: last long. No, No, I mean a lot of it.
- 28:00Speaker 1: A lot of the tried sitcoms where it was like
- 28:01Speaker 1: beast on their real life. Because Joey had the sitcom Joe,
- 28:04Speaker 1: but then he had the show what was a Call
- 28:05Speaker 1: where he was playing Matt LeBlanc, but it was called Episodes.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Actually I liked it. Episodes was actually pretty funny. Yeah,
- 28:12Speaker 1: I just think I just think the world wasn't quite
- 28:14Speaker 1: ready for that. No, it was a little bit sort
- 28:16Speaker 1: of meta humor, and we hadn't quite entered that phase
- 28:20Speaker 1: all sitcoms are now. You know. That was about what
- 28:22Speaker 1: ten or twelve years ago, I reckon, Yeah, because it
- 28:25Speaker 1: was like Kirby Enthusiasm kind of fit.
- 28:27Speaker 6: Yeah, and it was a combination as well of British
- 28:31Speaker 6: and American humor as well, because I mean, I think
- 28:33Speaker 6: the guys who created it were Brits and they came over.
- 28:35Speaker 6: It was like, oh we got the opportunity to work
- 28:37Speaker 6: in Hollywood and what a clash of cultures.
- 28:39Speaker 1: No no, no, no. D The Comeback was the least
- 28:41Speaker 1: could two seasons, two thousand and five, so that was
- 28:44Speaker 1: a long time. I thought it was recent. Yeah.
- 28:47Speaker 6: I think it was one that was very beloved by
- 28:49Speaker 6: a small but vocal cohorter people who were like, bring
- 28:52Speaker 6: back the comeback, bring back the comeback.
- 28:54Speaker 1: She had one called web Therapy. That's the recent one,
- 28:56Speaker 1: twenty fifty. Yeah, she's one that way for four seasons. Yeah,
- 28:59Speaker 1: she's on something on Netflix at the moment. I think
- 29:01Speaker 1: it's called No Good Deed. I think she co stars Weirk.
- 29:04Speaker 1: I want to say Ray Romano, all right, apparently not bad, but.
- 29:09Speaker 6: You're right, Yeah, there are very few sort of sitcom
- 29:14Speaker 6: stars who have yet really taken that and run with it.
- 29:18Speaker 6: Really the one that sort of stands out as Michael J.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Fox. Yeah, but even still his movie career was kind
- 29:24Speaker 1: of short lived, kind of Yeah, but then he was
- 29:28Speaker 1: back on Spin City again. That's true. Now, how much
- 29:31Speaker 1: of that had to do with his Parkinson's die, I
- 29:33Speaker 1: don't know sure, because he had Parkinson's during Spin City,
- 29:36Speaker 1: didn't he Yeah.
- 29:37Speaker 6: At the same time, he could also sense that his
- 29:39Speaker 6: movie career, Yeah, it was kind of it was making
- 29:44Speaker 6: a lot of real again three three and a half
- 29:46Speaker 6: star comedy.
- 29:47Speaker 1: He always he couldn't be like I dont think people
- 29:50Speaker 1: were ready for like thirty to forty year old Michael J. Fox.
- 29:54Speaker 1: They wanted the young, they needed him young and boyish,
- 29:57Speaker 1: and with all due respect to Michael Fox, he just
- 30:00Speaker 1: didn't quite have the range to cut it as a
- 30:03Speaker 1: dramatic actor. And Spin City, yeah, oh yeah. Look, look
- 30:06Speaker 1: I've got a lot of time. I love Spin City,
- 30:08Speaker 1: I love it. Look, I've got a lot of time
- 30:10Speaker 1: for Mark Jay Fox.
- 30:10Speaker 6: I think he's His comic time is almost second to none,
- 30:13Speaker 6: Fantastic on family times, irreplaceable, in the Back of the
- 30:16Speaker 6: Future movie that you can never you put him in
- 30:19Speaker 6: something like because he was making an effort to branch
- 30:21Speaker 6: out and be a bit more serious, and he was
- 30:23Speaker 6: in it was in a movie called Casualties of War?
- 30:25Speaker 4: Was it?
- 30:25Speaker 6: Sean Penn was a very It's a very grim, very
- 30:29Speaker 6: downbeat Vietnam War movie. And this is the story I
- 30:35Speaker 6: remember from the most, is Sean Pens being a real
- 30:40Speaker 6: mind fucker, and because his character has to get under
- 30:43Speaker 6: Michael J. Fox's skin and be an antagonist, and he
- 30:45Speaker 6: was basically just calling Michael Jay Fox a TV act
- 30:48Speaker 6: of the whole time and just like you can't cut it,
- 30:50Speaker 6: you don't, you don't have it, and doing it to
- 30:52Speaker 6: sort of build that tension at the same time. I
- 30:55Speaker 6: don't know, I'm wondering how much of that really sort
- 30:58Speaker 6: of got under his skin. But yeah, I can't really
- 31:01Speaker 6: think of any other sort of sitcom actors.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Who've gone on to be like huge on screen not
- 31:07Speaker 1: voice acting on screen movie stars. Yeah, Jennifer Aston would
- 31:10Speaker 1: have to be the most popular.
- 31:12Speaker 6: Probably, but even then, I mean, is there any movie
- 31:14Speaker 6: that's like it's a Jennifer Andiston starring vehicle? Means it's
- 31:18Speaker 6: normally like in.
- 31:19Speaker 1: The early two thousands she had a shadow, Yes, but
- 31:21Speaker 1: I mean stuff like picture Perfect and all that.
- 31:23Speaker 6: It's not really she has her TV shirt on Amazon now.
- 31:27Speaker 6: Oh yeah, Morning, yeh Morning wasn't done well, but I
- 31:29Speaker 6: mean he's back on streaming. I mean, Moonlighting wasn't really
- 31:32Speaker 6: a sitcom, so you can't say that Bruce Willis's transfer
- 31:35Speaker 6: was that. Likewise, Travolter I mean yeah, really he was
- 31:41Speaker 6: kind of a breakout of Welcome Back Cotter.
- 31:42Speaker 1: But I mean, Gabe Kaplan is the star. Oh yeah,
- 31:46Speaker 1: but Vine Barbara was designed as a stuff, but he
- 31:49Speaker 1: quickly became the star of people tuned in for Vinnie.
- 31:53Speaker 1: That's true. Interesting. Kaplan was the straight man for Vinnie. Oh,
- 31:58Speaker 1: he was a straight man for for the sweat Hogs
- 32:00Speaker 1: can bring that show back, you can't bring how many
- 32:04Speaker 1: dogs are still with us?
- 32:05Speaker 6: But yeah, but I mean, I mean Kevin James was
- 32:08Speaker 6: there for a while. Helen Hunt, Helen Hunter, I guess,
- 32:11Speaker 6: but I think Helen Hunt was pretty.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Well regarded before DAVIDO. Oh, that's good point. Yeah, there
- 32:18Speaker 1: are all these theos and taxi right he was. Yeah,
- 32:21Speaker 1: but again that's Ryan Reynolds of course. Yeah, but even then,
- 32:26Speaker 1: but even then, because I'm reading, I'm reading a bit
- 32:30Speaker 1: about Ryan real because Bateman. Mmmm oh that's a tough one.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Chris Pratt mm hmm yeah, merely Kuness, Ashton Kutcher. I
- 32:42Speaker 1: don't know.
- 32:43Speaker 6: Now, we're just now we're just saying names. Now, we're
- 32:45Speaker 6: just saying names. Were the sake of saying names? Tell
- 32:49Speaker 6: us what you think?
- 32:50Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're still listening to this after we'd just
- 32:54Speaker 1: I feel that I said to pretty much nail it
- 32:56Speaker 1: right though, Ryan RealD he started on a two guys
- 32:59Speaker 1: got a piece of place. Now he's one of the
- 33:00Speaker 1: biggest movie stars in the world, that's true.
- 33:02Speaker 6: But was there a sort of an It felt like
- 33:04Speaker 6: there was a bit of a thing in the wild
- 33:06Speaker 6: for a while before you know, you've got the end
- 33:09Speaker 6: of Two Girls in the Pizza Place.
- 33:11Speaker 1: Ed waiting and he played Deadpool, But like in Wolvering,
- 33:15Speaker 1: didn't he Yeah.
- 33:15Speaker 6: Yeah, you've got the Yeah, there's a fair bit of space.
- 33:18Speaker 6: And in Blade Trinity, No, no, he was a different
- 33:22Speaker 6: It was a different character in Blade trin okay, but
- 33:25Speaker 6: he played Wage Wilson slash Deadpool in X Men Origins Wolverine.
- 33:29Speaker 6: Terrible movie is it? Yeah, it's no good. The one
- 33:32Speaker 6: was they released footage and it was wasn't finished or something.
- 33:35Speaker 1: I think they basically released the movie like it got
- 33:38Speaker 1: pired and it got released really early but hadn't finished
- 33:41Speaker 1: at the CGI. That could be it. Yeah, it was
- 33:43Speaker 1: just bad from the from the jump anyway. Anyway, let's
- 33:45Speaker 1: get Ino flaming motion. We've gotten way off track and
- 33:49Speaker 1: the other favorite moment school I really liked.
- 33:51Speaker 7: So.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Another moment that I really enjoyed was but bringing he's
- 33:56Speaker 1: in myers, Homer, right, he brings to the alcohol to school.
- 33:58Speaker 1: Are they liquor bottles enough for everybody? You can take
- 34:03Speaker 1: one and whatever? It's not finished by the end of
- 34:06Speaker 1: the day. I was left, you have it the end
- 34:07Speaker 1: of the day. Yes, I've got to get.
- 34:09Speaker 6: Props to Homer for remembering, you know, the sort of
- 34:12Speaker 6: exact measurements and all that, because I mean, he basically
- 34:15Speaker 6: made it out of scraps. He's He's like Tony Skark,
- 34:18Speaker 6: Tony Stark.
- 34:18Speaker 1: The thing about this episode is that for the sake
- 34:21Speaker 1: convenience for the story, they don't have Homer ruined the day.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Hope could have easily just made his own flamming mote
- 34:27Speaker 1: at his house. Oh yeah, it's not like it could
- 34:31Speaker 1: only be made At most he could have started making
- 34:33Speaker 1: his own one and going here, this is it the original? Yeah,
- 34:37Speaker 1: Or you could have had Homer go this is a
- 34:39Speaker 1: different way for the story of Hammer go I know
- 34:42Speaker 1: what the secret ingredient is. If you don't want me
- 34:43Speaker 1: to tell anybody, you need to pay me. Yeah, that
- 34:47Speaker 1: could be another interest, could be an interesting Storylinder next
- 34:50Speaker 1: question you there eating the past. Let's get his some trivia,
- 34:54Speaker 1: shall we. Let's all right. My first question for you
- 34:57Speaker 1: is who sank to the bottom of the Dead Sea. Well,
- 35:00Speaker 1: it's either Paddy or Selma. Was it Paddy? Oh you
- 35:03Speaker 1: got it wrong? Oh damn you lucky coin that I flipped. Okay.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Then Lisa has a poster in her bedroom. It's for
- 35:17Speaker 1: It's for a good cause. What is that cause? I
- 35:19Speaker 1: think it might have been Corey because it's like season three,
- 35:22Speaker 1: is Simpson's clue at you? So say the clue again.
- 35:25Speaker 1: It's for a good cause, for a good cause, Yes,
- 35:29Speaker 1: save the whales or something like that. Is it such
- 35:32Speaker 1: contempt for the whales that good cause? No, it's end
- 35:36Speaker 1: aparthid Now okay. My next question for you is what
- 35:40Speaker 1: does Mo have in his Lost and found? There are
- 35:42Speaker 1: three things? Yea four things. It was a glass eye
- 35:45Speaker 1: which smashes. That does and the other two I forget.
- 35:50Speaker 1: But there was also a bottle of cops. Okay, I'm
- 35:52Speaker 1: gonna say major tom weapon. Well, one's a knife. That's
- 35:58Speaker 1: the weapon. What's major Toime? Who's made your time? Oh
- 36:00Speaker 1: it's a bowie bowie knife. Okay, okay, And what's the
- 36:05Speaker 1: and there's one more thing, which I don't. They have
- 36:08Speaker 1: had a revival of these things due to films a
- 36:11Speaker 1: film franchise for kids. I think there's like a fourth
- 36:13Speaker 1: one coming out soon. They're going Gangbusters film franchise for kids.
- 36:17Speaker 1: They used to be some of the kids play with
- 36:19Speaker 1: troll do troll dolls. Yes, that's right.
- 36:23Speaker 6: It's astonished to me that you'll sort of look back
- 36:24Speaker 6: and I don't. We're the Three Sonic movies. There's so
- 36:28Speaker 6: many trolls movies.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Something are fucking great. That's why have you watched them?
- 36:31Speaker 8: Oh?
- 36:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sure they are. It's just on my back.
- 36:34Speaker 1: They're genuinely great movies and sonic films. Yeah, I've not.
- 36:38Speaker 1: I've seen to Nicola last night that I don't think
- 36:40Speaker 1: I've been this excited for a movie in a long time.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Sounding three, I'm really excited for it.
- 36:44Speaker 6: Well, that's something we can talk about when we open
- 36:46Speaker 6: our mail bag a little bit later.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Yes, indeed, but by the time we've just Timeta timestawn,
- 36:50Speaker 1: This Sonny three has been out for a while now.
- 36:52Speaker 1: See you're the one who times down this time. But
- 36:54Speaker 1: you did. You bodies up the Three Sonic Movies now
- 36:57Speaker 1: well that yeah, but that's over the course of many time,
- 37:01Speaker 1: much time. Next question, who invented the the gas CHROMA
- 37:07Speaker 1: J P. Martin A J. P.
- 37:09Speaker 6: Martin, Although in the Disney Plus they also say Morton Morton.
- 37:12Speaker 6: Do someone miss hurt, but it's Martin do because Martin
- 37:15Speaker 6: is talking about today, one does to think, because it's
- 37:18Speaker 6: not hinted at here that I know for his names,
- 37:20Speaker 6: I'm thinking Martin Prince. No, no, he's not related to Martin.
- 37:22Speaker 6: Martin's first name is Martin. Next question for you will
- 37:26Speaker 6: be what is Half Banister's role at the Tipsy Place?
- 37:32Speaker 1: Oh, it's called Tipsy Staggers. Yeah, stag is really like
- 37:37Speaker 1: good time drinking and eating imporium. Wasn't the head of acquisitions? No?
- 37:41Speaker 1: Two words, and it's like the second word is like
- 37:44Speaker 1: the top dog. What do you say junior VP? GIA
- 37:48Speaker 1: vice president? But he's just vice president? What do you
- 37:52Speaker 1: say JR? What who is using the cigarette machine? Ad? Most?
- 37:56Speaker 1: What's the junior high schools? That's right? Yeah, And my
- 37:59Speaker 1: final question for you is how many cases of cough
- 38:01Speaker 1: syrup get delivered when he's having the chat with Half?
- 38:04Speaker 1: Oh it's something like four hundred thirty, So it's nothing.
- 38:09Speaker 1: It's nothing like four hundred, nothing like four hundred. No, Okay,
- 38:12Speaker 1: that's all I got for you. All right, then let's
- 38:14Speaker 1: get into a review of Flaming Mo's. The original air
- 38:17Speaker 1: date was November twenty one, nineteen ninety one, written and
- 38:21Speaker 1: directed by Rich Moore, Sorry, written by Robert Cohen and
- 38:24Speaker 1: directed by Richmore and Alan Smart guest stars at Aerosmith.
- 38:27Speaker 1: As we said, Phil Hartman plays Lionel hearts Mrshall, Watz's
- 38:30Speaker 1: Ed McKay, and Kip Lemon does the singing of fleming Mos.
- 38:33Speaker 1: There you go, yeah, the theme song flame. Kip Lemon
- 38:36Speaker 1: is the one who did the Michael Jackson for Michael
- 38:38Speaker 1: Jackson episode what do You Do? Did Kit? What do
- 38:40Speaker 1: you do? Michael jacksons the chopboard gag is underwear should
- 38:45Speaker 1: be worn on the inside, and the couch gag is
- 38:48Speaker 1: two thieves still the couch and the Simpsons are unimpressed.
- 38:50Speaker 1: They do so. The episode kicks off with I on
- 38:54Speaker 1: the Spring Fair. Love those opening credits, but they're so
- 38:59Speaker 1: very nice in the spile that gets me every time.
- 39:02Speaker 1: I know you love. It was very much like home,
- 39:05Speaker 1: like Wow, Infotain, Wow Infotainment just tickled me, I just
- 39:09Speaker 1: I know it's there, but everyone hear I'm like, that
- 39:11Speaker 1: is just like the perfect line for someone like to go, Wow, infotainment, infotainment.
- 39:18Speaker 1: I miss infotainment. You know when you go they told
- 39:22Speaker 1: you all the lays goss in the pop culture world
- 39:24Speaker 1: or whatever, infotainment.
- 39:25Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm wondering if this is a if nineteen ninety
- 39:29Speaker 6: one is the kind of year that that term entered
- 39:32Speaker 6: the into the vernacular. It's like, Wow, it's the best
- 39:37Speaker 6: of both worlds. I'm feeling entertained but also informed.
- 39:39Speaker 1: Yeah, so good. Kent Bruck was just having a great time.
- 39:43Speaker 1: So he has got the tire Fire celebrate its twenty
- 39:45Speaker 1: fifth anniversary. We've got the oldest man in Springfield and
- 39:47Speaker 1: the fattest man finally meet not that fat, No, not really,
- 39:50Speaker 1: and Drederic Tatum reminisces about the tops from Springfield. Now
- 39:55Speaker 1: they don't play that up in the Home a Boxing
- 39:58Speaker 1: episode that Tatum is on Springfield. Oh no, apparently it's
- 40:01Speaker 1: from there. You know, whenever I go back to that dump,
- 40:04Speaker 1: you know, we've going back to that do you know?
- 40:06Speaker 1: I really fucked up bad bleeped up. So but then
- 40:09Speaker 1: stops spies walking past because there's just women in bikinis.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Oh tna, And he says, why are you Danny? Is
- 40:14Speaker 1: his Why Danny? Because there's summer party upstairs in Lisa's room?
- 40:17Speaker 2: Whoa tna?
- 40:19Speaker 8: Why are you still up?
- 40:20Speaker 7: Lisa?
- 40:20Speaker 1: Slumber party?
- 40:23Speaker 4: Who can sleep with those five people hands cackling and
- 40:26Speaker 4: plotting against me?
- 40:27Speaker 8: Boy? It did get better things to talk about than you.
- 40:30Speaker 1: What an ego? But we pan up and we've got
- 40:32Speaker 1: asbestos in the in between the floorboards and whatnot, and
- 40:36Speaker 1: some lead and they're playing the candle wax game and
- 40:38Speaker 1: that drops in. The first thing is what's going to
- 40:40Speaker 1: be It's gonna be a Janet? No, it's an olympic
- 40:43Speaker 1: to not on Lisa for being so positive about it. Yeah,
- 40:46Speaker 1: but then we get the under dust pan. The wax
- 40:47Speaker 1: never lies. Then they decide to play truth or dare
- 40:51Speaker 1: They dare the girl to go kiss Bart and they
- 40:55Speaker 1: corner him, give a big smooch. I'm telling mom and dad,
- 40:58Speaker 1: who are you talking? Mom and dad? Jinks it's just
- 41:01Speaker 1: I heard this. I went, ah, that's right, being a kid.
- 41:04Speaker 1: I love the arcane rules of childhood. Another thing is too,
- 41:07Speaker 1: I'm thirty six and you know Nichol said six as well,
- 41:10Speaker 1: But like you can do the jinx. It's just one
- 41:12Speaker 1: of those things where we go I know it technically
- 41:15Speaker 1: have did not speak, but it's just one of the
- 41:17Speaker 1: things we always do. Picture the punch for the first
- 41:19Speaker 1: day of the month. Why man, why is that still
- 41:22Speaker 1: something we do? We just do it. I'm pretty sure
- 41:25Speaker 1: I'm not going to break my mother's back if I
- 41:26Speaker 1: step on that, I'm not gonna do it. Anyway. Is
- 41:32Speaker 1: that something around the world. Step on a crack, you
- 41:33Speaker 1: break your mother's back. I want to know. Let us know, listeners,
- 41:36Speaker 1: mail Mega for for your discount dot com dot are you?
- 41:38Speaker 1: Are you scared of breaking your mother's back if you
- 41:40Speaker 1: step on a crack? Let us stop? But but then
- 41:45Speaker 1: once Homer to say his name, eventually he lose it,
- 41:49Speaker 1: punches and Begod, he said his name without without him
- 41:52Speaker 1: saying it. Then they chase him for a makeover. You
- 41:55Speaker 1: get into the bedroom, they unscrewed the door. Incredibly persistent. Yeah,
- 41:58Speaker 1: it jumps through the window. They se him Maggie they
- 42:00Speaker 1: do they make Maggie over instead. I was like that
- 42:03Speaker 1: did I'm out of here? They set at the door.
- 42:05Speaker 1: The only thing here They never established where Marge is.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I was wondering about that. Did he just leave them
- 42:10Speaker 1: home by himself? Was Marge just?
- 42:12Speaker 6: I think marg was in the bed and I think
- 42:14Speaker 6: so he's staying up and get a little on Springfield.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe, but Moe is a business is slow at
- 42:20Speaker 1: the moment, so home he goes to visit him. You know,
- 42:22Speaker 1: everyone's healthier, they're drinking less. And it was for the
- 42:24Speaker 1: junior high school next door. This is the next door.
- 42:26Speaker 1: I think this is over the road or whatever. It
- 42:28Speaker 1: wouldn't be then it was used a cigarette machine. What
- 42:31Speaker 1: are the reasons that these businesses down? Well, he bought
- 42:35Speaker 1: the love tester, yes, but increased job satisfaction, that family togetherness.
- 42:40Speaker 1: They're poisoned for itvalor of mind numbing intoxins like himself.

- 43:14Speaker 1: and the love test, that's right, Yes, that's not. That's
- 43:17Speaker 1: great for a bar No, no, And Barney is sucked
- 43:20Speaker 1: at the taps dry. Oh, just like cub his gums
- 43:24Speaker 1: pretty bad. I'm like, oh my god, that's gross. Yeah.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Do you know the feeling when you bite your gum,
- 43:29Speaker 1: like when you and you genuinely just chomp down on
- 43:32Speaker 1: the inside of your mouth. Oh yeah, Oh, it's one
- 43:34Speaker 1: of those things that just makes my skin crawl. Oh yeah, No,
- 43:37Speaker 1: nothing worse than that. There are things worse. As we
- 43:39Speaker 1: were established, that's true.
- 43:41Speaker 6: Okay, we're not. We're no longer your house of bipurbole.
- 43:44Speaker 6: Full finger discount.
- 43:45Speaker 1: We've got that's bad. That's bad. That's good. But that's bad.
- 43:54Speaker 1: He says, we need to do something different. So it
- 43:55Speaker 1: gets at the cocktail chart, Gin and Tonic do they mix?
- 43:58Speaker 1: And Homer remembers a flaming Homer. The drink recipe is
- 44:01Speaker 1: telling all about it. Patty and someone were going through
- 44:03Speaker 1: their slides, and they've got their hairy legs because they
- 44:06Speaker 1: know that the shaver very yellow drumstick. It's a great line.
- 44:09Speaker 1: So he goes to get a beer, but I think
- 44:11Speaker 1: it's Paddy has the last one, so he makes his
- 44:13Speaker 1: own beer.
- 44:15Speaker 8: He started to mix the little bits that were left
- 44:17Speaker 8: in every liquor bottle. In my haste, they had grabbed
- 44:21Speaker 8: a bottle of the kids Court syrup. It passed the
- 44:30Speaker 8: first test. They didn't go blind.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Paddy's cigarette but falls into it, sets it on fire,
- 44:36Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, I know what it is,
- 44:38Speaker 1: but fire made it good. Didn't understand the signs, but
- 44:41Speaker 1: I made it good. Yeah, checks he's lost and found
- 44:44Speaker 1: for some cough syrup. He finds something in there. Mostly
- 44:46Speaker 1: thought that his charm. Love it, light it on fire.
- 44:48Speaker 1: It's unbelievable. Yeah, it looks like a party in his
- 44:50Speaker 1: mouth and everyone's inn. They used that line a lot
- 44:52Speaker 1: in the earlier Simpsons. I think they use it again
- 44:54Speaker 1: when the maybe the same season. I think Homer at
- 44:57Speaker 1: the Bat. I think it's the pilot of the premier
- 44:59Speaker 1: free with a guy and drinks. But that's where it
- 45:02Speaker 1: gets gigantism. Their pony in my mouth and everyone's knowed it. Yeah,
- 45:06Speaker 1: it's a good line. The guy that loved testing, he
- 45:07Speaker 1: says Buster, he wants his nickelbacks, so Mo just gives
- 45:10Speaker 1: him a flaming Mo and the dies cast. As we
- 45:15Speaker 1: said earlier, it's a spura of the moment decision. Moe's
- 45:17Speaker 1: businesses down. I can understand why someone like Mo would
- 45:20Speaker 1: do it, doesn't mean it doesn't make it right. We
- 45:23Speaker 1: come back from commercial and Moe's businesses absolutely booming. Now
- 45:26Speaker 1: got a salad bar and everything with a sneeze guard,
- 45:29Speaker 1: with a sneeze guard, market establishment which works. Yeah, when's
- 45:32Speaker 1: the last time we went to a place with a
- 45:33Speaker 1: salad bar? Oh? Gosh, is all you can eat? Place
- 45:37Speaker 1: we go to has a salad bar, but you never
- 45:39Speaker 1: get salad you can eat.
- 45:40Speaker 6: Place, absolutely not. Look, no time in living memory have
- 45:44Speaker 6: I attended to play with a salad bar.
- 45:46Speaker 1: I remember it was a sizzler, Yeah, sizzler or you
- 45:49Speaker 1: can eat salad bar. Because no one ever reads it,
- 45:52Speaker 1: no one, no one. It's not false advertised, but everyone
- 45:57Speaker 1: just likes saying all you can eat. The idea of
- 45:59Speaker 1: it's all you can eat eat, it's when you go
- 46:00Speaker 1: to America. One of the things I found was you
- 46:02Speaker 1: go there, you buy a drink, but everywhere was free
- 46:04Speaker 1: top ups. That's right. Yeah. I was like, I don't
- 46:07Speaker 1: need three letters of PEPSI, but I'm gonna take it.
- 46:11Speaker 1: There is a reason that's the greatest country in the world,
- 46:13Speaker 1: isn't there. Well, it was great about the movies there.
- 46:17Speaker 1: It's freetops and popcorn as well. What you could eat
- 46:20Speaker 1: all your popcorn, go back there and they refill it
- 46:22Speaker 1: for you. I could not believe it. I know you're
- 46:27Speaker 1: not a fan of popcorn, but nicol and I was free, Well,
- 46:30Speaker 1: let's just buy one, eat it all, and then go
- 46:33Speaker 1: get another one instead of buying two. I was like,
- 46:35Speaker 1: let's do that. Very smart woman, she's a genius, all right.
- 46:40Speaker 1: But everyone's enjoying, flaming. Most of these businesses booming as
- 46:44Speaker 1: we were saying, yeah, But Homer questions, I wonder if
- 46:46Speaker 1: all the businesses here because of the drink. I wonder
- 46:48Speaker 1: if that's the reason. Nah, maybe maybe it's not the
- 46:51Speaker 1: only reason. And I hate this joke, but I love
- 46:53Speaker 1: this drink. Co It then arrives Markeep.
- 46:56Speaker 4: I couldn't help noticing your sign, the one that says by,
- 47:00Speaker 4: can just do it till your boy.
- 47:01Speaker 2: No above that store bought drowlery.
- 47:03Speaker 4: Oh great, why don't we bell out an application? I
- 47:06Speaker 4: need your name, measurements and turn ons.
- 47:09Speaker 2: You really expect me to tell you my measurements?
- 47:11Speaker 4: You could, but I find this way is much more
- 47:13Speaker 4: accurate and fun. What do you offer in the way
- 47:17Speaker 4: of salary, minimum waging tips? Of course there are a
- 47:20Speaker 4: fringe benefits, such as an unforgettable weekend at club mode.
- 47:25Speaker 1: I'd prefer to take my vacation someplace hot.
- 47:31Speaker 2: I like your MAXI kid, you're hired. You shan't regret this, methinks,
- 47:36Speaker 2: I shan't.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Real sex past. But that's not like real cheese dialogue,
- 47:42Speaker 1: didn't it? Oh yeah, yeah, I mean that's something you
- 47:44Speaker 1: could actually imagine, say Malone, Yeah, definitely. What are you offer?
- 47:50Speaker 1: Minimum wage and tips? Stringe benefits, some very love It's
- 47:55Speaker 1: then when you were doing it that way, these benefits
- 47:57Speaker 1: and so from tipsy mixed staggers, good time drinking and
- 48:03Speaker 1: eating emporium. I would go to this place, as would I.
- 48:05Speaker 1: I wonder if I want a place that has a
- 48:07Speaker 1: ridiculous name like that. My uncle Moe's family feedback I
- 48:10Speaker 1: don't really exist in him. They don't even TGIFS is
- 48:13Speaker 1: kind of everyone's trying to the upper class now. It's
- 48:15Speaker 1: like everyone's afraid to just be just average. Just just
- 48:18Speaker 1: a place where, you know, good sliders, cheap beer, pool table. Fuck,
- 48:22Speaker 1: that's all I need. We need a Denny's or something
- 48:25Speaker 1: like that. I've never been to a Denny's, but were
- 48:27Speaker 1: just The Sporting Club used to feel like that for
- 48:30Speaker 1: us when it first started. Now it's like twenty five
- 48:33Speaker 1: dollars for chicken bites as a starter, and I went.
- 48:36Speaker 1: What happened? I trusted? I trusted you. Yeah, many places
- 48:41Speaker 1: where you just go there. We're just get a burger,
- 48:44Speaker 1: some fries, play some pool, play pinball machine, there's music
- 48:47Speaker 1: players at jukebox. That's what I want. It'd be nice.
- 48:49Speaker 1: What's your ideal your ideal place? Because I'm going out
- 48:52Speaker 1: for a feed. What's your ideal establishment? What do you
- 48:56Speaker 1: want in there? Depends on the mood, I guess, but yeah,
- 49:00Speaker 1: Friday night, you and Lou like, let's goat and have
- 49:02Speaker 1: dinner somewhere, nothing fancy. What are you doing? What would
- 49:05Speaker 1: you want? What would you want? What will be your
- 49:07Speaker 1: dream place? There's a pub in Packingham Street here in
- 49:11Speaker 1: Geelong called the Petrol. You go there, that looks scary.
- 49:16Speaker 1: It has been made over and fixed it up. Yet
- 49:17Speaker 1: it's been made over recently sort of but not in
- 49:21Speaker 1: overly gentrified.
- 49:22Speaker 6: It's kind of got. It's the hipster's version of what
- 49:24Speaker 6: an old timey pub was.
- 49:26Speaker 1: I sort have made it hipsterish, have that it's not
- 49:28Speaker 1: hipster ish, but it's kind of like you take a
- 49:30Speaker 1: look at it's like, oh, this looks like the same
- 49:32Speaker 1: old pub, but it's like, oh the table is just
- 49:33Speaker 1: a little bit neater, or oh this one's been handmade
- 49:36Speaker 1: or something, and then it's like, oh your chips are
- 49:38Speaker 1: hand cut and all that kind of shit. It's just
- 49:40Speaker 1: just just to interrupt. So this is what the Petrol
- 49:43Speaker 1: used to be. Like, this is just as Niccola had.
- 49:45Speaker 1: So it must have been twenty nineteen, just before COVID,
- 49:47Speaker 1: because Niccola had had Alliott. And we walked in. Of
- 49:50Speaker 1: course Nicholas Bastfitting at the time, right, Elliot's not there.
- 49:53Speaker 1: We walked in and there's just all these old men
- 49:55Speaker 1: in there and just turn it's all like stared. No
- 49:57Speaker 1: one says anything, and we also and then one guy
- 49:59Speaker 1: is hum, and just go check out the fun bags.
- 50:03Speaker 1: And we just went let's leave. That's what happened. He
- 50:06Speaker 1: just goes check out the fun bags. The petrol was
- 50:10Speaker 1: indeed very much like that for a very very long time. Yeah,
- 50:15Speaker 1: I won't say like on its last legs, but I
- 50:17Speaker 1: mean the bare minimum of a pub. Yeah. Yeah, it's
- 50:22Speaker 1: been bought. It's been not made over, but sort of
- 50:25Speaker 1: tarted up just a little bit.
- 50:27Speaker 6: Uh lu and I and Felix went there for dinner
- 50:31Speaker 6: a little while ago, and let's yeah, well let's just
- 50:34Speaker 6: get the basic pub grab. We'll get a steak, we
- 50:36Speaker 6: get some crum kalamari, or get a parmi.
- 50:39Speaker 1: It's like, this is all good. I mean, this is
- 50:42Speaker 1: not again I'm using the term a lot today, but
- 50:44Speaker 1: this is bear three and a half, the four star
- 50:46Speaker 1: meal and five four star. But yeah, really it was
- 50:50Speaker 1: a good party. What was the price? What would you
- 50:51Speaker 1: make the prices? Oh, it wasn't super expensive, but yeah,
- 50:56Speaker 1: because you go to if it's between twenty and twenty
- 50:58Speaker 1: five for a parmy, you're doing well. I think it
- 51:01Speaker 1: might have been a little bit more than that, might
- 51:02Speaker 1: have been just under thirty three and a half.
- 51:06Speaker 6: But yeah, I mean, yeah, just a good candory at
- 51:10Speaker 6: a good hotel. That is, you don't necessarily feel like
- 51:15Speaker 6: you've got to put on your Sunday best to go there,
- 51:17Speaker 6: but you will put on an shirt.
- 51:19Speaker 1: I don't want that. I want to play riders, go
- 51:20Speaker 1: and have a fu some sliders.
- 51:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 51:22Speaker 1: I mean, if you're talking about like the my what's
- 51:24Speaker 1: the word, I'm looking for, ideal place, ideal experience, That's
- 51:28Speaker 1: what I asked you. Well, that's what I'm saying. Yeah.
- 51:32Speaker 6: Look, there are certain occasions when I'm going to be
- 51:34Speaker 6: dressed like I'm dressed right now. It's just like, okay,
- 51:36Speaker 6: well I'll go to Sam's and get a get a kebab.
- 51:39Speaker 6: I didn't do yesterday, but I might do today. But
- 51:44Speaker 6: that's what I'm thinking. Yeah, but you've made your position
- 51:47Speaker 6: quite yeah, yes, yes, and I like the idea of
- 51:50Speaker 6: your establishment as well. Yeah, pool table, jukebox TV's on.
- 51:54Speaker 1: In the corner, srt C, I t what are the
- 51:56Speaker 1: old TVs called? What are the old box ones? It's
- 52:00Speaker 1: going to be a forty centimeter TV, the little square
- 52:02Speaker 1: one black and white, handful of things on the menu.
- 52:05Speaker 1: But they get it just right. I mean, yeah, I've
- 52:07Speaker 1: always said if I was going to open a cafe,
- 52:09Speaker 1: have like you mums out the back making the sandwiches.
- 52:12Speaker 1: You have four.
- 52:12Speaker 6: Sandwiches on the menu and coffees, and that would pretty
- 52:15Speaker 6: much be it.
- 52:16Speaker 1: Really Yeah. Yeah, on maybe like a little thing with
- 52:19Speaker 1: like you get bottled water or coke. You have something
- 52:21Speaker 1: for kids. Yeah, oh you can make a bubba chan
- 52:23Speaker 1: or hot chocolate. We went to a cafe recently and
- 52:26Speaker 1: it was like it's called like a restaurant almost. It
- 52:28Speaker 1: was quite big and they didn't have nuggets for kids,
- 52:31Speaker 1: and I went, I was sure he's running this place.
- 52:34Speaker 6: But yeah, they'd clearly don't want places but they don't
- 52:37Speaker 6: want to child and patrons. Yeah, some places, I like
- 52:41Speaker 6: a lot of people have kids. Well these guys, these
- 52:46Speaker 6: guys have clearly either done their research or just taken
- 52:49Speaker 6: a punt and saying, oh it was empty. Some places
- 52:54Speaker 6: want to go somewhere where other people aren't going to
- 52:57Speaker 6: bring their kids.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, it's a bold stretch.
- 53:03Speaker 3: Pardon me, Are you the genius behind the Flaming Mob?
- 53:06Speaker 1: Why?
- 53:06Speaker 2: Yes, I'm your man.
- 53:08Speaker 3: My name's Hag Banner Star. I worked for Tipsy Mxstiger's
- 53:11Speaker 3: a good time drinking and eating and phim.
- 53:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Hey, what's mister mcstagger really life?
- 53:16Speaker 3: Actually, there is no Tipsy mixstagger. He's just a composite
- 53:18Speaker 3: of other successful logos.
- 53:20Speaker 2: Well you tell him from me that he makes one
- 53:22Speaker 2: great not so realistic.
- 53:24Speaker 1: Yes, fine, I will.
- 53:25Speaker 3: Anyway, I've gone a proposition for you.
- 53:27Speaker 2: Keep talking.
- 53:28Speaker 3: We feel your flaming mo is perfect for our restaurant train.
- 53:31Speaker 3: We want to buy the ruscip no dice.
- 53:33Speaker 4: The flaming mo is not for sale. Do you know
- 53:36Speaker 4: how much of my blood and sweater in this drink?
- 53:40Speaker 4: Figerous peach?
- 53:41Speaker 2: Sorry?
- 53:41Speaker 1: Have I'll be back so have there has poured the
- 53:48Speaker 1: drink into the case. This must this must be what
- 53:51Speaker 1: the colonel went through back in the day. Oh goodness.
- 53:53Speaker 1: Yet people are trying to get that recipe.
- 53:56Speaker 6: Give me one hundred bits of chicken, picking the skin
- 53:58Speaker 6: of every bit and just die secting.
- 54:00Speaker 1: Like it astounds me that it's not out. Is that
- 54:04Speaker 1: a hint of human Yeah, everybody is trying to we
- 54:08Speaker 1: have laboratories. Well, how many times, I mean, how many
- 54:12Speaker 1: times have you looked online for like KFC hit what
- 54:15Speaker 1: is the KFC recipe? It tastes fine, but it's not
- 54:18Speaker 1: quite KFC it's not quite. I reckon it might be
- 54:20Speaker 1: what they cook it in as well, because there's obviously
- 54:23Speaker 1: a particular brand of whatever they cooking it in the oil.
- 54:27Speaker 1: I reckon the secret recipe is not in the chicken,
- 54:29Speaker 1: it's in what they're cooking it in. Hey, I think
- 54:30Speaker 1: the secret ingredient is love actra salt, that's for sure.
- 54:39Speaker 1: But yeah, Harvey is pouring his drink into the drinking
- 54:43Speaker 1: to the briefcase. The bottle in the briefcase. I like
- 54:45Speaker 1: the name half Banister Banister. That just strikes me as
- 54:48Speaker 1: a really good Simpson's name. Half Banister. You never come
- 54:52Speaker 1: back to this, is it?
- 54:52Speaker 5: No?
- 54:53Speaker 1: No?
- 54:53Speaker 6: But I mean it feels like it just feels like
- 54:55Speaker 6: fun in the writer's rooms, Like what are we gonna
- 54:57Speaker 6: call this guy?
- 54:58Speaker 1: Half Halvey is a very busy this man name of
- 55:00Speaker 1: course Harvey Birdman, Harvey, who's avident? What's a Harvey or
- 55:06Speaker 1: even Harvey warbanger Yes later alluded to in this episode
- 55:08Speaker 1: Let's not Talk to the old movie Mogle, Barney says
- 55:15Speaker 1: that man only an idiot give away a million dollar
- 55:17Speaker 1: idea like this? Why would you ever do it?
- 55:18Speaker 5: Home?
- 55:19Speaker 1: It's like, oh my god, I did that Martin then
- 55:21Speaker 1: showing the gas chromat What is it? Chromatograph? Chromatograph? What
- 55:26Speaker 1: is that? What do they do? I don't know, man,
- 55:28Speaker 1: I was gonna look it up. No, forgot because I
- 55:29Speaker 1: was taking my notes. Have a look gas, but it
- 55:33Speaker 1: makes an opinion. It is an analytical instrument that measures
- 55:35Speaker 1: the content of various components in a sample. The analysis
- 55:38Speaker 1: performed by a gas chromatograph. It's called gas chromatography. Well,
- 55:44Speaker 1: i'm Martin, Wow infotainment. Yes, I pitied the poor student
- 55:50Speaker 1: who has to follow you, and it's Barton. I was
- 55:52Speaker 1: a button Myers Homer. Oh yeah, yeah, he's not the
- 55:55Speaker 1: smartest guy. But no, he created the flaming Homer.
- 55:57Speaker 6: Well that's the thing, and we're used to, uh, well
- 56:00Speaker 6: maybe we're just used to the underachieving kid, but in
- 56:03Speaker 6: this case getting up and like, oh, you know, he's
- 56:04Speaker 6: gonna half past his way through it or whatever, so
- 56:06Speaker 6: I know he actually gives a proper presentation. Yeah, because
- 56:09Speaker 6: as you said, it's pride and his father and his achievements.
- 56:14Speaker 1: But Nelson calls him out and says, no, I love
- 56:16Speaker 1: that you were first to intou mo the bartender? Did
- 56:20Speaker 1: his name the Bartender?
- 56:22Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm amazed that the Flaming Mo, Yeah, has has
- 56:25Speaker 6: got such reach that even the kids are talking about it.
- 56:27Speaker 1: When did they reveal Sislack was his last name? That's
- 56:31Speaker 1: a good question, when reveal Mo SiZ Lac? I think
- 56:36Speaker 1: it was mister Burns, wasn't it? Because they had the
- 56:39Speaker 1: eminent MS. So that's why he's called the Barton here.
- 56:44Speaker 1: That's the joke, because he didn't have he didn't have
- 56:46Speaker 1: a last name. Yeah, yeah, we go. I thought it
- 56:48Speaker 1: was there because they had to have the M and s. Again, infotainment,
- 56:53Speaker 1: it's entertaining, but you're also being in full way tuned
- 56:56Speaker 1: into the shell guys. Missus Case says that bar has
- 56:59Speaker 1: to take all the liquor to the teacher's lounge. Then
- 57:01Speaker 1: we get Flaming Mos. He now has a fancy new sign.
- 57:03Speaker 1: He's upmarket. Now, Krusty has arrived and it's Paparazzi Day.
- 57:06Speaker 1: Punches the paparazzi in the face. Veterans Day is now
- 57:09Speaker 1: known as two things and the various newspapers. We've got
- 57:14Speaker 1: the Springfield Shop for saying the wizard on walnut streaked time,
- 57:18Speaker 1: he says one more for the road and Barron Still
- 57:20Speaker 1: Magazine says through the roof. Homer is annoyed. At the
- 57:24Speaker 1: dinner table at the Simpsons house, Lisa asked for a
- 57:26Speaker 1: virgin Mos. Grow Bart's wearing a I got toasted at
- 57:30Speaker 1: Flaming Most T shirt where he got that. I have
- 57:32Speaker 1: no idea because I don't think he went to Flaming Mos.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Maybe he did, I don't think he would. Margin says,
- 57:39Speaker 1: do your pals and Uncle Rico do a T shirt
- 57:42Speaker 1: like that? I got toasted Flaming Mon all the everyone
- 57:46Speaker 1: does it, like just like the bootleg ones like Red
- 57:47Speaker 1: Bubble and Teapublic, in that people aren't going to pay
- 57:50Speaker 1: top dollar for a shirt that says that when you
- 57:52Speaker 1: can get it for twenty bucks on those shirts on
- 57:53Speaker 1: those websites. Marge then says, all vulnerable, gut sorry, gulible, Marge,
- 57:58Speaker 1: w did you go asking to share? Ain't gonna happen?
- 58:02Speaker 1: Homos Is'm two upset to eat. I'm just gonna go
- 58:03Speaker 1: to mos hope. They tries skipping the line, but he's
- 58:06Speaker 1: on the list. He's not allowed in. Like, here's the
- 58:08Speaker 1: reason this people are he's allowed in, not letting him.
- 58:11Speaker 4: In, Ladies and gentlemen, some new buddies of mine, stop
- 58:14Speaker 4: by tonight. Maybe we can get him to come up here.
- 58:17Speaker 4: How about a warm, flaming mods welcome for arrow smack,
- 58:25Speaker 4: Come on, guys, free pickled eggs, a.
- 58:31Speaker 2: Hellos, Saint Louis.
- 58:34Speaker 1: That's Springfield, Stephen. Have you ever been to a consent
- 58:37Speaker 1: where they got the name wrong. I've happened to be
- 58:39Speaker 1: a couple of times having it guns and Rows. They
- 58:41Speaker 1: go good evening, Sydney and everyone. It's like, oh ship,
- 58:48Speaker 1: that wasn't excellent. It's their voice of a guy. I'm like,
- 58:51Speaker 1: that guy had one fucking job. One job is just
- 58:55Speaker 1: like the best bend in the world, or he's just
- 58:58Speaker 1: the intego. That's it. Actually, you forgive about you Ros.
- 59:01Speaker 1: It's like, oh, well, you know, at least Sydney you're
- 59:04Speaker 1: gonna put on a show for us as well. But
- 59:05Speaker 1: this guy just has to do that. Oh no, oh no,
- 59:09Speaker 1: I have to press it. Embarrassing, how embarrassing? Who says
- 59:14Speaker 1: how embarrassing? It's Homer says it doesn't he at one
- 59:16Speaker 1: point I have reviewed it, and he goes, I'm embarrassing
- 59:20Speaker 1: and he walks off. Now, but it's one of I
- 59:24Speaker 1: use that quote all the time. So yes, so things
- 59:27Speaker 1: are going really well from from Home is not allowed in.
- 59:30Speaker 1: But then misintroduced Aerosmith playing it Walk This Way. Great
- 59:33Speaker 1: song I really liked. Whilst they were playing Walk this Way,
- 59:37Speaker 1: that Otto and Cashmere just getting it down on the table.
- 59:40Speaker 1: Not actually anybody like dancing with each other. Yes, in
- 59:43Speaker 1: front of Ned and Maud, Ned and Wore were there.
- 59:44Speaker 1: That's behind I just casch and Lenny seits his hair
- 59:48Speaker 1: on fire. Jasper catches the towel I guess you could say,
- 59:51Speaker 1: wipe his bead with it and walks off. Hope then
- 59:53Speaker 1: enters through the toilet window. Bunny is in there with
- 59:56Speaker 1: Mundo and Raffi, and then this is where Aerosmith call
- 59:59Speaker 1: mo up. And I've been caught a couple of times.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: I used to do a lot of music stuff with
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: Kate rock and radio and whatnot, and they see me there.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: They go get up on stage and I'm like, I
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: here to see me. I know you think like this
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: is cool, but I was like, if I'm going to
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: a gig, I don't want some random on the stag
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: in the song. You know, I'd always feel awkward being
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: up there. And I'm like, I know, no one here

- 1:01:36Speaker 1: that you are a single man and then a collect
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: overhears Homer's rand here, so she is where the planting
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: the seeds of her going? What are we doing here
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: but a lot as you've got you Morris? Yeah, I know.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: She tread a little angel on his shoulder, Ye, steering
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: him in the right direction. Mo. He's justification. He may
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: have come with the recipe. I come with the idea
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: of charging six potinenty five for it a capitalist. Yes,
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: the phone, and it's for huge ass.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Telephone flaming mouth. Yes, I'm looking for a friend of mine.

- 1:02:22Speaker 1: What can I do for you? Bart?
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: Look, I'll live it with you, mister.

- 1:02:27Speaker 6: I'd like to bail out right now, right better.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Look next time.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: What a nice young man, Homer. I'm sorry you're mad
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: at me, but this isn't personal. This is business business day.
- 1:02:36Speaker 8: But let me tell you something.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: You just lost yourself a customer.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: What.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Homer, I couldn't hear you. You just lost
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: yourself with customers. You lost yourself a customers. You're gonna
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: have to speak up. You just lost yourself customer. Mo
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: forst myself to watch.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: You just lost yourself of customers.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: Oh my, I talk to you tomorrow.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: You just lost your.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: We get the flaming Mose intro here, flaming. It's such
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: a good song. It is, Yeah, and the stills very
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: much look like cheers. It's a director yeah, and it
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: ends with Barney getting the norm intro and Woody's behind
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: the bar. You never see him again. It's just for
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: that moment. Yeah. I liked Coach, but I think wood
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: he was a funnier yeah character, because Coach kind of
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: had that I'm dumb, except there was an episode where Coach,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: I mean in season one where he's got his daughter
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: there and it looks like episode two. It's unbelievable. It's
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: fantastic that episode. It's actually may have discussed already.
- 1:03:45Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, when we did our cheers holy ship and
- 1:03:48Speaker 6: how we I'd certainly rolled on from the from the party.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's like, daddy, I know I'm not the
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: best looking. It's just like a father's love, you know.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you're just thinking about it.
- 1:04:01Speaker 6: She's not gonna look like look like moment and you
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: Coach says, yeah, your your mother got beautiful, you know,
- 1:04:08Speaker 6: she got out on me. Oh no, she got more
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: beautiful every single day. Yeah, it's fantastic.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: That awesome when the way to.
- 1:04:16Speaker 7: The world has got you down and you want and
- 1:04:20Speaker 7: your life bills to pay, a dead end job and
- 1:04:25Speaker 7: problems with the wife, but don't throw in the tower
- 1:04:29Speaker 7: because there's a place right down the block where you
- 1:04:33Speaker 7: can't drink your misery away.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: That flame.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: So when the good MUDs can more you.
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: Like a happiness, it's just a flaming mo away happiness
- 1:04:56Speaker 7: is just a flaming mow away.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: How's the world treating you, mister Gumble.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: This is where Tipsy Mix staggers man again have rocks
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: up and he goes They want to offer him a
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: million dollars for the recipe. It's known as you idiots like,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: we're gonna get it eventually, We're gonna lap. You know,
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: we're gonna eventually figure it out. Professor Frink's there. The
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: secret ingredient is love lab also, and they're using a
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: gas chromatrop Are they? Oh, well done? I never even
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: realized that. So it's amazing. You can watch these old
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: classic episodes and there's so many jokes that just there's
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: so many gags in there. They put them. They just
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: put it all together with love and care. Yeah, that
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: the secret recipe dies with me thirty cases of calf syrup.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: You hooked on And in the service that he says,
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Homer arrives at his new favorite watering hole, the Aristocrat.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: The guy pulls the gun, was couts home a furious
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: at home, and Moe is now an iron Springfield. So
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: I'm not sort of thing that at the start, Homer's
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: loving infotament Iron Springfield most stolen his idea. It's all
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: these callbacks, isn't it. Oh yeah, it's very good stuff.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: They go to see Lionel hearts what can we do
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: about this? And he says, you can't copyright a drink.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: I'm sorry. It calls back to the Frank Warbanger case
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: of seven. It was apparently a real case. Apparently, so
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: it's got a link and everything. Homer is annoyed in bed,
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: and this is where we get the magical Man from
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Happy Land moment, which I think the reason this is
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: iconic that remember or I remember it's all from this
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: because they played it in the clip shows, right, they
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: kept playing it playing, And I think that's why I
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: struggled remember which episode it's from. It's because I think
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: it was just played back to back to back with
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: the clips. Yeah, so March's Yeah, I love the marg
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: again though the she tries to see the positivity and things,
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: just find the soul, knowing that you're making people happy.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Oh that's great, much making people. Mo was now in
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: bed with collect after what he calls a happy hour,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: so mostly his mum. How long they got twenty minutes
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: before she gets back on it. Yeah, and she says,
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: you need to sell this drink and we'll get your
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: favorite line. I was just thinking about Homer Simpson. That's
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: I was thinking about simple Danning. Yes. So then she says,
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: you just had to drink and give half the money
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: to Homer. Sleep with the chick once a cush you're
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: half with bananas. Mo has this. This is where Homer
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: has his vision of Mo and I think this is
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: one of the key moments in the episode. Just from
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: an animation perspective. It's just so great where you know,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: everyone at home sounds have you made the lawn give
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: me more money? Which hadn't come out yet that song
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: My money hadn't no money, no problems, no mo money No.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: But I get the feeling it might have been. When
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: did in Living Color come out? Well, that was early nineties,
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: wasn't it. Yeah, because it's ninety one, because there was
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: a it was a catchphrase of nineteen ninety it started.
- 1:07:43Speaker 6: I think it was one of Damon Waynes's character's catchphrases
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: because he actually made made a movie called mul Mooney,
- 1:07:48Speaker 6: did he Yeah? Yeah, it came out like ninety ninety
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: one or ninety two.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Okay, it's called moul Mooney written by Damon Damon Wayne's
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: Yeah mo Money soundtrack ninety ninety two. Because there's only
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: two Yes, it was half this episode, okay.
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: But I think the feeling that the the catchphrase was
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: very popular on in Living Color. Yeah, but the More
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: Money movie probably best known for having the best things
- 1:08:16Speaker 6: laugh free on the soundtrack.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: That's a banger of a song. I love that song. Oh,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: I love Luthor. I love songs where you just get
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: two people who soun out they're genuinely in love with
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: each other. Really like that stumble learning and the remains
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: stumbling in and they've just taken the original site basically
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: put beats on it. No, it sucks fucking hell. I
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: want to hear that. Want to the snopters of More
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Money the film. A petty criminal? Of course he's a
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: petty criminal. Of course he is a petty criminal, falls
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: in love and gives up the world of crime for
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: a corporate job. However, he finds himself in a difficult
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: situation when he slips up.
- 1:08:51Speaker 6: Dann Ways is about to find out there getting moll
- 1:08:54Speaker 6: Murney is heard.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: Then it looks it sounds like I have said a
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: fresh prince. The nineties were a wonderful time. Will gives
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: up the word of being fresh for a carport job.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: He finally up in a difficult situation when he slips up.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: Will Smith is the Stale Prints, rated PG. Thirteen. Will
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: give me a call. If you haven't understood what we're
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: doing here, it is Rob Steiner is a carriage going
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: down to Southwark. Chally reviewed it season six of south Park.

- 1:09:32Speaker 1: ever checked out the south Pop podcast, check it out now.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: We're in Peaky of the of the of the show
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: so good. We're so happy to be talking about it.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: We are, indeed, especially Fami most as well more more
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: bar Are you going to mow the lawn today?
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: Okay, but you promise me more money?
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: I'm all, I'm all Mo mos don can we motor
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: the movie?
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: There's a mot name.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: Of course, I'll work and Mo Way.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: Makes Mo ma.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Well. So it's time again for Mo to have Aerosmith play.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: But they can't find their drummer. Where is he? Where's Joey?
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: He is getting bizet He doesn't really want to get busy.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: Missus K is getting bize, I would go and get
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: it the drumstick from missus Ka. Of course, Mo is
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: then he's going to sell the drink. He halves, like,
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: you've made the right decision here, blah blah blah. I'm
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: usually still and running out of business, but you know,
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: selling me. Then Homer interrupts the laugh gets fools fools
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: at a bit of a shoutout to fandomly the opera,
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: of course it is, yeah, covering him half his face
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: with the He's just stumble down the street as well
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: in his dressing gown. And so think you missed the knutball,
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: is what Half says, because he reveal what the second
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: ingredient being syrup. And then Homer falls on Aerosmith. Cut
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: to one week later, and there's just flaming most every everywhere,
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: which is apparently a play on race pizza in New York.
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: It's just raised pizzas or different pizzas versions of it
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: everywhere in New York. Yeah, we've got famous mos here,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: one of those famous most established last night, and there
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: was also flaming mews, yes, the French. Homer then enters
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: Mo's and Mo's like, hey, come in, what are you doing? Homer?
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: Apologized I shouldn't have done this, and I was like, like,
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: some things that are too good to be kept a secret,
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: and it gives him a flaming Homer, which was a
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: nice moment.
- 1:11:30Speaker 8: It was.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: Yeah, they don't really they end with a gaggy but
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: it's not like I thought they might have gone down there,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: think of most still charging him for it kind of thing,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: but they didn't. It's just they end with the sweet
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: they're still friends. They've gone through this horrible ordeal. Most
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: maybe made a bunch of money. Who knows they've come
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: out the other side going to be here tonight. I
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: doubt it. And that's the end of Flaming Mos. Yeah,
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: there's a reason why this one's alreadys put in the
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: top ten lists of episodes. It's just it's so great. Well,
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: it's got a good heart and guests, and here a
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: great guest appearance, and as he said, it's got a
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: lot of nothing's wasted.
- 1:12:06Speaker 6: Here's a lot of good one lines, but also a
- 1:12:07Speaker 6: lot of gags that are interconnected and callbacks and all
- 1:12:10Speaker 6: that kind of stuff.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Really fun opening act as well with the slumber party.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: I just I think it's just it felt so real.
- 1:12:15Speaker 6: Yeah, and it's an inciting incident that doesn't sort of hang.
- 1:12:18Speaker 6: It works by itself, but it also doesn't stretch it
- 1:12:21Speaker 6: out too long.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: How often do we find with said modern just like
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: teen ere season twenty of The Simpsons, where we go
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: all you have to do is at home? I get
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: to this point. Why do you have to wait waste
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: eight minutes of the episode to get to this? You
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: know what I mean? So here it's over, has to
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: get to Mos. We have, yeah, three minutes of Shenanians
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: and is at most right it has no bearing on
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: the story. No, but they work perfectly well by themselves.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: We do get infotainment though at the start that is great. Yes,
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: and apparently that was something that happened to It was
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: based on an experienced Algae and Haw when he was
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: a kid with the slumber party. That's what it was
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: based on. So overall, flaming Mos. What an episode. Absolutely
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: love this one, as do I. I'm glad that you
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: recommend it. That we talk about. So we just thought,
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: you know, end of the year, beginning of the year,
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: depending on when you're listening to this something fun. We thought,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: I don't want to end the year with at least
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: I have crosswords. I want to end with something amazing,
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: and so we de started to raise a glass light

- 1:13:16Speaker 1: have you all having fun getting boozy or whatever it
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: is you want to do, having a good time, spending
