Transcript
- 0:00Have you ever felt that your marriage could benefit from a deeper spiritual connection?
- 0:05Welcome to part four of our podcast series, Keeping the Covenant Strong.
- 0:10Today, we hear from Annie as she shares her insights into how anchoring their
- 0:14relationship in Christ has transformed her marriage with Ray.
- 0:18Together, they've discovered that true strength comes from recognizing the spiritual
- 0:22battles they face and intentionally placing God at the center of their union. Here's Annie.
- 0:30Looking back on our journey as a married couple, I can see the significant difference
- 0:35in our relationship now that we are both anchored in Christ.
- 0:39Initially, our confidence and mutual commitment to move forward in marriage
- 0:44were based on a shared desire to avoid painful separation.
- 0:48We had a common goal of raising a family and cultivating a positive family culture.
- 0:54With these intentions are noble, we cannot deny that challenges exist,
- 0:59and Satan actively works to sow division within families.
- 1:04It wasn't until I renewed my faith and learned God's word that I received a powerful reminder.
- 1:11Our battles are not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces,
- 1:16as noted in Ephesians 6, verse 12.
- 1:20Only then did I realize our commitment to continue and strengthen our marriage must be rooted in God.
- 1:27For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers,
- 1:33against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness
- 1:38in the heavenly places, from Ephesians 6, verse 12.
- 1:42The more we equip ourselves and actively practice spiritual disciplines,
- 1:48not just individually but also as a united couple, the more we experience what
- 1:54it truly means to put God in the center of our marriage.
- 1:58Through reading and studying the Bible, praying and engaging in intentional
- 2:02conversations, our unity as a couple grows stronger.
- 2:07What was once driven solely by a desire to raise a family has now become a pursuit
- 2:12of accountability before God.
- 2:14So if you find yourself journeying through life and marriage away from God,
- 2:19I encourage you to pause and reflect.
- 2:22Consider how the message of the gospel can not only transform you and your marriage,
- 2:27but also bring a profound purpose that strengthens your relationship.
