- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
- 0:04In this episode, we're gonna start taking a look at
- 0:06the Sarah Ransom deposition that's recently been unsealed, and we're
- 0:10gonna take a look at what she had to say,
- 0:14and Laura Meninger is doing the questioning, and Sarah Ransom's
- 0:18being represented by a lawyer named Peter Gergis. So now
- 0:22that we have all the players on the stage, let's
- 0:25get to the play. Menager, good morning, Miss Ransom. Answer,
- 0:30good morning, Manager. Can you please give us your full name,
- 0:34Sarah Sarah Emma Ashley Ransom. Manager and what is your birthday?
- 0:40Ransom redacted? Menager and what is your current address? Gergis,
- 0:45I'm going to object to a current address. Manager, you
- 0:49can answer, Gergis, you can give your last permanent address.
- 0:53Ransom redacted, then redacted again and questioned by Menager and
- 0:59what does that mean that's your last permanent address? Ransom?
- 1:04I reside there. Manager. Do you rent an apartment? Ransom?
- 1:08My partner does? Manager? Who is your partner? Gurgis objection? Manager,
- 1:13who is your partner? Ransom? Do I have to answer that? Gurgis? Yes? Redacted?
- 1:20Manager I'm sorry, Ransom redacted? Manager? How do you spell
- 1:24the last name? Ransom? Redacted? Manager? And how long has
- 1:29redacted been your partner? Gurgis, I'm going to object. I'm
- 1:33not sure what the relevance of this is or where
- 1:35you're going with this, Manager? How long has redacted been
- 1:39your partner? Ransom? Sorry? Can I just ask a question?
- 1:44I would like to just clarify When you say objection,
- 1:46does that mean I actually have to answer the question,
- 1:49because that's irrelevant. Gurgis, right, unless I'm telling you not
- 1:53to answer. You need to answer, Ransom, so I don't
- 1:56need to answer, Gurgis, No, you do need to answer this. Okay,
- 2:00we've been together almost a year. Manager. And what is
- 2:04your current occupation Ransom, I'm a writer. Manager. And what
- 2:08do you write? Ransom? Just stuff, you know, just about
- 2:11factual stuff, you know, just a bit of this, a
- 2:14bit of that. Manager. Have you been paid for any
- 2:16of your writing? Ransom? No, it's more of a hobby, really, Manager.
- 2:21Are you employed Ransom? Nope? Manager. Do you have any
- 2:24source of income? Ransom my partner? Gurgis, I'm going to
- 2:28object to that. Income is out. You don't have to
- 2:31answer that McCauley, do you have any source of income? Gurgis,
- 2:35I just objected to that you don't have to answer. Manager.
- 2:38Is there a privilege that you're asserting, Gurgis, I'm not
- 2:41sure what the relevance is, and I'm not going to
- 2:44allow Manager interrupts them and says, do you believe that
- 2:47relevance is a proper objection during a deposition? Gurgis, I
- 2:52believe that if you go far afield with the witness,
- 2:55that the judge is not going to appreciate it, and
- 2:58that I'm not going to just sit here and be
- 3:00a potted plan and allow her to answer any questions
- 3:03on any subject that you see fit. Manager. On relevance,
- 3:07you're instructing her not to answer on irrelevance objection? Is
- 3:11that what you're saying, Gurgis, I just objected, McCauley, I'm
- 3:15going to object on behalf of plaintiff for Jinia Roberts,
- 3:18to the extent that you're requesting from a non party
- 3:21financial information which is not allowed under New York law.
- 3:25So McCauley is also sitting in on this, but she's
- 3:28not there physically. She's on the phone. Manager. I have
- 3:32asked her whether she has any source of income, and
- 3:35you're going to object McCauley, yes, manager, and instructor not
- 3:39to answer. McCauley, I'm not instructing her or not to answer.
- 3:42I'm just making a record. Gurgis. It's financial information, manager
- 3:47interrupts them, and whether she has a financial motive is relevant. Manager.
- 3:52So I'm going to ask you one last time, do
- 3:54you have any source of income? Gurgis, I'm going to
- 3:57instruct you again not to answer. Has any of your
- 4:00writing been published by anyone? Ransom no manager? Have you
- 4:05sought to have your writing published by anyone? Ransom no manager?
- 4:09What is your partner's occupation? Gurgis objection McCauley, objection, Gurgis,
- 4:14I'm going to object, Yes, same objection. Manager. If you
- 4:18are going to instruct the witness not to answer, please
- 4:20say that contemporaneous with your objection, because there are two
- 4:24different things. There are objections and instructions not to answer.
- 4:29So are you instructing her not to answer what her
- 4:31partner's occupation is? Gurgis, right, same objection. I'm instructing the
- 4:35witness not to answer on that basis of both relevance
- 4:39and because she is a third party non I'm sorry,
- 4:42non party witness who you were asking for financial information about?
- 4:46Menager once again interjects no, I ask for an occupation. McCauley,
- 4:51I'm going to object that relates directly to financial information,
- 4:56so it's covered by New York's law with respect to
- 4:58non party witness Menager, what are the names of your
- 5:02parents redacted? Manager? How do you spell that? Ransom? Redacted? Manager?
- 5:08And where do your parents live? Ransom? I'm not comfortable
- 5:11giving you my mother and father's address. Manager, are you
- 5:14instructing her not to answer? Macauley, do you want to confer? Gurgis,
- 5:18give me a moment on this the witness, we're really
- 5:21well organized. Time noted nine twenty one, recess time noted
- 5:26nine twenty three, So they took a quick recess, then
- 5:28they got back to it. Manager, Miss Ransom, there was
- 5:32a question pending when you took a break with your lawyers.
- 5:35Can you please answer the question? Gergis, I'm instructing the
- 5:38witness not to answer questions regarding current information about her
- 5:42own location, her family's location, or things of that nature.
- 5:46The witness has expressed to me fears of harassment and
- 5:49the belief that she's being followed, and my understanding is
- 5:52that there are other witnesses that have had similar fears
- 5:55and concerns. And unless you make some sort of proffer
- 5:58of the actual relevance of her parents address wherever those are,
- 6:02I'm not going to have her answer. Manager, Okay, where
- 6:05does that understanding come from? Please, mister Gergis. Gurgis, where
- 6:09does your understanding come from? You just made a factual representation.
- 6:13I would like to know where your understanding comes from. Gurgis. Yeah,
- 6:17I'm not being deposed. I'm not going to answer your questions. Manager,
- 6:21all right, Manager, all right, Miss Ransom, did you agree
- 6:25to be a witness in the case of Roberts versus Maxwell? Answer? Yes? Manager.
- 6:30Did you voluntarily agree to do that? Ransom? Yes. Manager.
- 6:34Where you promised anything in exchange for your testimony and
- 6:37the Roberts versus Maxwell case? Ransom? No, Manager, Where you
- 6:42provided legal counsel? Ransom? Sorry? Does that mean McAuley you
- 6:46have a lawyer? Yes, Gurgus, yes, Ransom yes. Manager, Okay,
- 6:52how many lawyers do you have? Ransom three? Manager. I
- 6:55would like the record to reflect that the witness is
- 6:58checking with the lawyers to get answers of these questions, Pottinger, Wait, wait, wait, wait,
- 7:03objection gergis there is absolutely no exchange. No words were
- 7:08spoken by Menager. Mister Pottinger. Did you put up a
- 7:12number of fingers? Did you put up a number of fingers,
- 7:15mister Pottinger. Mister Pottinger, you said, I'm going to object
- 7:18because the witness is answering these questions in plural menager.
- 7:22Uh huh, Pottinger, that is inaccurate. When she looked at
- 7:26me to ask how many lawyers she had, I said three,
- 7:29with three fingers. That is a single request on her
- 7:32part and a single answer, not multiple menainger. No, she
- 7:36has looked to her lawyers for previous answers. We'll just
- 7:39make a record as we go along. Thank you McCauley.
- 7:43You could have had a videotape here so that we
- 7:45would have a record of that, because I think your
- 7:48verbal record is inaccurate, though, Pottinger, and in fact she
- 7:53this is mister Pottinger speaking, And in fact, she has
- 7:56not looked at me during this deposition except one time,
- 7:59which was or what I took to be a request
- 8:02to know how many lawyers she has manager. So are
- 8:05you being deposed mister Pottinger. Pottinger, I am not manager,
- 8:10Miss Ransom. How many lawyers do you think you have? Ransom? Three? Manager,
- 8:15can you please name them? Ransom, Peter, Cigarette and Stan.
- 8:20Manager is mister Bradley Edwards representing you? Answer yes. Manager
- 8:26is mister Paul Cassell representing you Ransom? No. Manager is
- 8:31mister David Boys representing you? Answer yes. Ms McCauley. I
- 8:35just want to be clearer for the record if you're
- 8:38talking about representing generally or you're talking about a particular matter,
- 8:42because we have a couple of matters. Manager, I'm asking
- 8:46the questions here, McCauley. No, I understand that you have
- 8:49to make the record clear. Manager interrupts Ms McCauley. If
- 8:52you want to ask her questions later, you are more
- 8:55than welcome to do so. I am going to ask
- 8:57questions of the witness that I am deposing. McCauley. Well,
- 9:00we want the record to be clear that there are
- 9:03more than one action. Manager interrupts her. You can ask
- 9:06questions when you're doing your questioning. I'm doing my questioning
- 9:09now and I will ask the questions. McCauley. I'm going
- 9:13to object the record should be clear there is more
- 9:16than one action pending here. She is a witness and
- 9:18she is also her own action pending. Pagliuka, thank you
- 9:22for that speaking objection Ms McCauley and communicating that information
- 9:26to the witness, which you know is totally improper. McCauley.
- 9:31Now that's two people objecting right now. Is it going
- 9:34to be Laura taking this deposition or is it going
- 9:36to be you? Jeff? You guys have done this to
- 9:38me before, and it's not a position where you're allowed
- 9:41to object and she's allowed to object. You guys pulled
- 9:44that at the last deposition, so please do not do
- 9:47this here. Pagliuka, I was just thanking you, Menager. All right,
- 9:52So the number of lawyers we're up to so far
- 9:55is Gergis, McCauley, Pottinger, Edwards, and boys. That's five, correct, Ransom?
- 10:01Can I just ask you a question? Manager, No, you
- 10:03cannot ransom? Okay? Manager? Are those five lawyers that are
- 10:08representing you? Gurgis objection? Manager? Yes or no? Ransom? Yes? Manager?
- 10:13All right? Anyone else representing you? Ransom? No? Manager? Miss Schultz?
- 10:19Is Miss Meredith Schultz representing you? Ransom? No? Menager? How
- 10:24much are you paying for any of your lawyers. Ransom,
- 10:27it's on a pro bono basis. Manager, Do you know
- 10:30what each of those lawyers normal hourly rates are? Ransom? No, Menager.
- 10:35Do you know how many hours you have spent with
- 10:37your attorneys? Ransom? No, Gurgis objection? Menager? How many hours
- 10:42have you spent with mister Gergis? Gurgis objection. Manager then
- 10:46rephrases the question without communicating to me any information you
- 10:50and he have shared ransom a few maybe, Menager? How many? Ransom?
- 10:55About eleven hours in total? Menager? When is the first
- 10:58time that you met mister gurr Gurgis objection? McCauley, you
- 11:02can answer Gurgis. You can answer ransom yesterday. Manager, you
- 11:08met mister Gurgis yesterday? Was that your answer? Ransom? Yes? Manager?
- 11:12And who is paying for mister Gurgis fees? If you
- 11:15know ransom? I have a pro bono arrangement. Manager. Do
- 11:20you know if he's receiving money from anyone else in
- 11:22exchange for representing you? Ransom? No, Manager, No you don't know,
- 11:27or no, he is not ransom. I don't know, menager.
- 11:31How many hours have you spent with miss McCauley, Ransom.
- 11:36Can I just clarify that question? Does that mean on
- 11:38the phone, Like, what are you referring to in person
- 11:41or manager? Either one? How many hours? How much time
- 11:45have you spent with Ms McCauley in person, Ransom, I
- 11:48met with Ms McCauley for the first time in person yesterday,
- 11:51but I've spent Yeah, we've been Ms McCauley was the
- 11:54first person I actually spoke to. Manager. And how many
- 11:58hours have you spent with on the phone, Ransom? Many
- 12:02many hours? Menager? Approximately? How many? Ransom? I don't know.
- 12:08Menager five Gurgis objection, Ransom more than five, Menager ten
- 12:13Gurgis objection ten Ransom, well ten fifteen. She's been with
- 12:20me the whole way since when I came forward, so
- 12:22she's been a very prominent person. Manager. And when did
- 12:26you first speak with her on the phone, Ransom, I
- 12:29think it was Menager interrupts without telling me what you said. Ransom.
- 12:33I think it was November, Menager, November? What? Ransom, I
- 12:37can't remember the date, Menager, early November, late November. Gurgis objection, Ransom,
- 12:44I can't remember, Menager. Was she speaking to you on
- 12:47your cell phone or a landline? Ransom, cell phone manager,
- 12:52a mobile number or a landline ransom? A cell phone manager? Okay?
- 12:58And what's the cell phone number? Ransom? I don't have
- 13:01it anymore? Menager? That's okay. What's the cell phone number? Ransom?
- 13:05I actually don't know. I can't remember my cell phone number.
- 13:09I don't have anything with me, so I can't remember
- 13:11that number offhand, Menager. How long did you have that
- 13:15cell phone? Ransom? About eight months? Menager? What happened to it? Ransom?
- 13:20I got rid of it? Manager? Why Ransom? Because I
- 13:24fear from my life because of Jeffrey Epstein and Glenn Maxwell. Menager?
- 13:29What did you do with it? Ransom? I sold it?
- 13:32Manager when Ransom? November? Manager? Before or after you first
- 13:36spoke with Miss McCauley. Ransom before? Manager? So then, how
- 13:42did you speak with Miss McCauley over the phone? Answer
- 13:45by Ransom on my partner's cell phone? Manager, and what's
- 13:48his cell phone number? Ms McCauley objection, what's irrelevance of
- 13:52her partner's cell phone? Again? This is irrelevant, it's harassing.
- 13:57It's your seeking information to be able to witness has
- 14:00already expressed fear about people currently going after so we
- 14:04would object to that intimidation of a non party witness. Menager,
- 14:08What is your partner's cell phone number, Gurgis, I'm directing
- 14:12the witness, not the answer. Manager. How many hours have
- 14:16you spent speaking with mister Pottinger Ransom. I've been speaking
- 14:19to mister Pottinger since November. Manager. When in November Ransom?
- 14:24I can't remember, Menager, on the same cell phone that
- 14:27you got rid of? Ransom? No, on my partner cell phone. Manager.

- 15:29him on the phone? Ransom? No, Menager? And you have
- 15:33not paid any money for any of those lawyer's time? Correct? Ransom, Yes, Manager,

- 16:05can't remember the exact total. Manager. Has anyone agreed to
- 16:09reimburse you for this? Ransom? No? Manager, And you're staying
- 16:14where while you're here? Gurgis objection, and direct you not
- 16:18to answer that? Manager. Are you staying at a hotel
- 16:21while you're here? Gurgis, you can answer that ransom, yeah, Manager,
- 16:26are you paying for that hotel? Gurgis objection. I'm directing
- 16:30you not to answer McCauley, you can answer Gergis. I
- 16:33think you can answer. McCauley. Yeah, I think you can
- 16:35answer Gergis. That's fine. I agree McCauley. You're a non
- 16:39party witness. You can answer the question. Manager. Who is McCauley.
- 16:43I am representing Virginia. He is representing the witness. Manager. Well,
- 16:48you're representing the witness as well, right, McCauley, I'm not manager. Well,
- 16:53did you just tell her she can answer a question. McCauley,
- 16:56I did, manager? Are you paying for the hotel? Ransom? No? Menager?
- 17:01Who's paying for the hotel? Answer by ransom? It's on
- 17:05expenses I think of a witness. It's expenses from Yeah,

- 18:49you been promised anything else? Ransom? No? Manager? Have you
- 18:53been promised that you would have counsel to help you
- 18:56bring a lawsuit against a number of people. McAuley objection.
- 18:59To the extent this gets into attorney client privileged information,
- 19:03you're not allowed to answer. Manager, Have your lawyers agreed

- 19:38you had any agreements regarding writing a book? Answer by Ransom, No,
- 19:43Manager about your experience, you have to wait for me
- 19:46to finish my question. Have you had any agreements with
- 19:49your lawyers about media rights in any form? Gergis objection
- 19:53to the extent that you're asking about communications with the attorneys, Menager,
- 19:58I'm asking about her arrangement with her attorneys, which is
- 20:01not privileged. Ransom. Can you please repeat the question, manager,
- 20:05Have you reached an agreement with your attorneys regarding meteor
- 20:09rites for your story. Answer No, Manager, have you talked
- 20:13to anyone about publishing anything relating to your story? Ransom?

- 20:26I have manager. Who have you spoken to, Ransom the
- 20:29New York Post? Manager? Who at the New York Post Ransom?
- 20:33Maureen Callahan? Manager? And when did you speak with her? Ransom?
- 20:38I think it was late in October. Manager. Have you
- 20:41spoken with her since? Ransom? No? Manager? And how long
- 20:45ago did you speak to her? Ransom? I spoke to her,
- 20:48for gosh, about thirty minutes on the phone once. Manager.
- 20:53And what was what did you tell her in your
- 20:55phone call? Ransom? I told her what Jeffrey Epstein and
- 20:59Glenn macke well did to me and the other girls. Menager.
- 21:02Did she give you any money in exchange for your interview? Ransom? No? Manager.
- 21:08Did you publish anything related to that interview? Ransom? No? Menager.
- 21:13How did you get in touch with miss Callahan? Ransom?
- 21:16I emailed her after I read an article that she
- 21:19had written about Jeffrey Epstein. And the last sentence was
- 21:22it was on the sixteenth of October and one of
- 21:25the last sentences I remember was will we ever know
- 21:28the true extent of Jeffrey Epstein's victims? And I wrote
- 21:31her after that because well it still continues, doesn't it. Manager.
- 21:37Where's the email that you wrote her? Ransom? It's on
- 21:42my computer, manager, okay, in your Yahoo account, Ransom. Yes. Manager.
- 21:47Did you have an agreement with her to have any
- 21:49additional conversations? Ransom? Yes? Manager? And what was that agreement, Ransom,
- 21:55It wasn't an agreement, per such. What actually happened was
- 21:58I came forward. As soon as I came forward, there
- 22:01was where I live in Barcelona, there's quite a lot
- 22:04it's a quite busy traffic with people. I came forward
- 22:07to Marine Callahan. I wanted to tell my story, and
- 22:11I want to run a campaign in which all the
- 22:13girls that have been abused by Galine and Jeffrey can
- 22:16come forward. And I wanted to run a campaign with
- 22:18The New York Post to get these girls to have
- 22:21the courage to come forward, because I know a lot
- 22:23of them are frightened, like myself. The email correspondence I
- 22:27had with Mariene Callahan, she was going away or something,
- 22:30and she was going to write a piece in the
- 22:32New York Post about my story. During that time, it
- 22:35was the elections, so there was a lot more other
- 22:38things going on. There were two people following me. After
- 22:42I came forward to Mariene Callahan, I went to I
- 22:46walked downstairs, I walked around. I have a usual routine
- 22:50that I do in the morning, I went out. I
- 22:52saw the same two people. Later on that afternoon, I
- 22:55saw the same two people again. I was frightened. I'm
- 22:58frightened for my life, absolutely frightened. So there you go.
- 23:02So that's what I was. She pauses for a minute
- 23:05communication stop between Maureen Callahan and I. I got really
- 23:09angry with Maureen because she had obviously told someone being
- 23:13the New York Post. So you know, Menager, So you
- 23:16had an email to miss Callahan and an email back
- 23:18from her. Ransom, yes, manager, more than one ransom? Yes? Manager?
- 23:23How many ransom? I can't remember, Menager? More than ten
- 23:27or less than ten? Manager? And you had one phone
- 23:31call with her or more than just one ransom? Just
- 23:34one manager and it lasted about thirty minutes. Ransom about that, Menager?
- 23:40And was that also on the cell phone that you
- 23:42got rid of? Ransom? That was on my partner's cell phone. Manager,
- 23:47and what had you read in the press that caused
- 23:50you to get in touch with miss Callahan? McCauley objectioned
- 23:53the form Go ahead, Ransom. You can read the article yourself.
- 23:57It's on the sixteenth of October. There's an article in
- 24:00the New York Post written by Maureen Callahan. You can
- 24:03read it, and that's what inspired me to come forward. McAuley.
- 24:08What do you recall about that article, Ransom? Oh, I
- 24:12can't remember. The one thing I do remember is the
- 24:15last sentence of the article, which has stuck with me
- 24:18and quite prominent, and that is, well we ever know
- 24:21the true extent of Jeffrey Epstein's victims. Manager, Do you
- 24:25recall anything else about this article? Ransom, It's just the
- 24:29same when I had read the article, the stuff that
- 24:32I had experienced myself with Jeffrey. It's just the same
- 24:35old stuff, just continuing. I thought he had stopped abusing girls. Menager,
- 24:41what do you recall reading an article that Jeffrey Epstein
- 24:44was doing? Ransom? I can't remember, Menager, anything at all. Ransom,
- 24:49you can read the article. I can't remember. Manager, you
- 24:53remember nothing about this article, McCauley asked, an answered objection, Manager,
- 24:58except it was related to Jeffrey Epstein and it ended
- 25:02with the sentence that you just described. McAuley objection, asked
- 25:06an answered Ransom, Yes, Menager, what do you know about
- 25:10other girls being frightened? Ransom? I know that the girls
- 25:14on the island and in New York during my time
- 25:16with Jeffrey and Glane that they were frightened? Menager? Okay,
- 25:21what are the names of those girls? Ransom redacted, redacted
- 25:24and redacted. I don't know her surname. I can't remember
- 25:28her surname, Maxwell. How do you spell the first name? Ransom? Redacted?
- 25:33I'm just taking a guess. Redacted. I'm guessing. I think gergis.
- 25:37I'm going to remind the witness I told her not
- 25:39to speculate, but that's okay, Menager. In addition to redacted
- 25:43and redacted, what are the names of the other girls
- 25:46who you believe are frightened? Ransom redacted? There were a
- 25:50couple of other girls that I met during my time
- 25:52with Glen and Jeffrey that were frightened, Menager. What were
- 25:56the names of the girls that you met that were frightened? Ransom?
- 25:59There was redacted, redacted, redacted and redacted, and there were
- 26:03two other girls. I can't remember their names, Menager, Okay,
- 26:07please describe them, Ransom, the describe all the girls or Menager? No,
- 26:13we're talking about the girls that you met on the
- 26:15island that you described as frightened. Okay, on the island,
- 26:19Gurgis objection. You seem to be suggesting that all those
- 26:22girls are from the island. I'm not sure that that's
- 26:25the testimony. Menager. All right, you said girls on the
- 26:29island and in New York who were frightened. I ask
- 26:32you for their names. You gave me three, correct Ransom, Yes, Menager.
- 26:37You said there were two others correct Ransom. Uh huh Maxwell.
- 26:42What did the two other girls look like? Ransom? I
- 26:45can't really remember. One had blonde hair, long blonde hair, Menager.
- 26:49Anything else about that, Ransom? I can't remember, Menager. The
- 26:55other girl? Can you remember her hair color? Ransom? No,
- 26:58I can't remember. Men Do you know the height of
- 27:01either one of them? Ransom? No, I can't remember, Menager.

- 27:11And where did you meet these two other girls? Ransom
- 27:14in New York? Manager? Where in New York, Ransom, I
- 27:17can't remember, Menager. You don't know the location at all, Ransom, No,
- 27:22it was ten years ago, Menager. Was it in a
- 27:25home or in a commercial setting? Ransom? I met girls
- 27:29commercially in home settings? Menager? Where did you meet these
- 27:33two other girls that you described as being frightened? Ransom?
- 27:37I can't remember, Menager? What is redacted's last name? Ransom?
- 27:42I don't know, Menager? What does redacted look like? Ransom?
- 27:47She's got long blonde hair, Menager? How long? Ransom? Long
- 27:51long hair? Menager? Longer than your hair now? Ransom? I
- 27:55think so. I think it was longer, Menager, so middle
- 27:58of her back? Ransom, I can't remember. I can't remember
- 28:02on how long her hair was? Menager? Where did you
- 28:06meet redacted? Ransom? I met redacted first in New York? Menager?
- 28:11Where in New York? Ransom? I can't remember, Menager anywhere
- 28:15in New York. You can't remember at all? Answer, I
- 28:18can't remember the location, Menager. Was it at Epstein's home?
- 28:22Gergis objection. You have asked her now almost twenty questions
- 28:26about where she met these girls, and she has consistently
- 28:29said that she does not remember. Manager, Was it in
- 28:32mister Epstein's home? Ransom? No, Menager? Was it at a club?
- 28:37Mister gergis are we going to spend seven hours with her? Saying?
- 28:41I can't remember where she met the two girls? Menager?
- 28:44Was it at a club? Ransom? One was at a club? Menager?
- 28:50Which one? Ransom? Redacted? Menager? Where did you meet redacted? Ransom?

- 29:15I don't think I have a question pending. We'll go
- 29:17off the record now. After a fifteen minute break, they're back, Menager.
- 29:21So I want to return to your conversations with miss Callahan.
- 29:25Conversations with Miss Callahan? Did you have any further communications
- 29:29with her after the phone call that you described? Ransom?
- 29:33There were I think a few emails exchange, but nothing
- 29:35ever came about it, Menager. And again those are emails
- 29:40from your Yahoo account. Ransom. Yes, Menager. Did you ask
- 29:44miss Callahan for compensation in exchange for your story. McCauley objection, asked,
- 29:49an answered ransom. No, Menager, had you seen any other
- 29:54stories in the press about Jeffrey Epstein Ransom through the
- 29:57last ten years. I've seen a few articles written about
- 30:00Jeffrey Epstein. Manager. What do you call about those articles? Ransom?
- 30:05The way he used to abuse girls? Basically articles written
- 30:08very similar to my own story? Well identical? So, manager,
- 30:12and have you written down your story? Ransom? No? Manager, nowhere,
- 30:17Ransom no, Menager nowhere, Ransom No. All right, folks, we're
- 30:22gonna wrap up part two here and in the next

- 30:28of the information that goes with this episode can be
- 30:30found in the description box. What's up, everyone, and welcome
- 30:34back to the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're gonna
- 30:37pick up where we left off with the Sarah Ransom deposition.
- 30:42So let's get right back to it. Menager. Did you
- 30:46see any articles about Virginia Roberts Ransom? Yes, Menager? Which
- 30:51articles did you see about Virginia Roberts Ransom? I can't remember.
- 30:56It was quite some time ago, Menager. What do you
- 30:59recall about it? Ransom? She came forward and I was.
- 31:03It was a few years ago that she came forward,
- 31:05and her story was exactly the same as mine. I
- 31:09can't remember specifically what article I read, but every single
- 31:12article I did read during the duration of that time
- 31:15she experienced the same thing I did, So it was
- 31:18more or less the same context and it's the same
- 31:20story in all articles, really, Menager. So you were reading
- 31:25these articles over the course of a period of ten years,
- 31:28you think, Ransom. Yeah, I didn't pay much attention to
- 31:31it because I've spent the last ten years trying to
- 31:34get over that experience, and I've been frightened to come forward, Menager.
- 31:39And when you read the articles, you noticed that there
- 31:41were details that you thought were similar to your experience.
- 31:45Mcaulay objection, Ransom. There were details that were exactly the
- 31:49same as what I had experienced, Menager. Do you know
- 31:53whether anyone else had brought lawsuits against mister Epstein? Ransom? No? Menager.
- 31:58Did you say if any of these areticles that you read? Ransom? Sorry?
- 32:02Can you repeat that? Menager? Did you save any of

- 32:09you grow up, Ransom? I grew up in South Africa?
- 32:13I then finished school in Scotland. Manager. When did you
- 32:16move to Scotland? How old were you? Ransom? I was fourteen. Manager.
- 32:22Did your family move to Scotland or just you, Ransom?
- 32:26Just myself? Manager. Are you a South African citizen? Ransom? Yes? Manager.
- 32:32Do you have a South African passport? Ransom? Well, yeah,
- 32:36it was stolen. I'm reapplying for a new one. I
- 32:39have to renew my South African passport. It was stolen
- 32:42South Africa for you. Manager. So when did you get
- 32:46that South African passport? Ransom? I can't remember. I've had
- 32:50a South African passport my whole life, so Manager, and
- 32:54when was it stolen? Ransom? I think it was twenty fourteen,
- 32:58twenty fifteen. So you were born in South Africa, You're
- 33:02a South African citizen and you had a South African
- 33:05passport your whole life. Have I got that right? Ransom?
- 33:09Uh huh? Menager? Yes or no? Mister gergis objection to form?

- 33:31think when I was about five. Menager. Do you have
- 33:34dual citizenship Ransom, yes, Manager, And do you travel using
- 33:39both passports? Ransom, it's really complicated. I only use my
- 33:42South African passport when I enter into South Africa, so
- 33:46that's the only time I use my South African passport.
- 33:49Then other than that, I use my British passport for
- 33:53all other transportation because South Africa you need like a visa.
- 33:57It's really complicated, so I'm lucky I've got my British passport. Manager.
- 34:03It's easier to travel on a British passport than a
- 34:06South African passport. Ransom, Yeah, a lot easier, a lot easier. Menager.
- 34:12All right, did you have any other siblings growing up? Ransom? Yes, Menager,
- 34:17how many? Ransom, I've got one real older brother, and
- 34:20then I've got a half younger brother and a half
- 34:23younger sister. Menager. Did you all grow up in the

- 45:43on the Upper east Side And yeah, I said I
- 45:46was looking for somewhere to stay. Manager. Did you pay
- 45:49rent Ransom? Yes? Manager? How much did you pay Ransom?
- 45:53I can't remember? Menager one thousand dollars Gurgis objection, Ransom,
- 45:59I think it was less than that. Manager. Did you
- 46:02have your own bedroom? Ransom? No, Manager was redacted the
- 46:06only other occupant, Ransom, there was another guy. Manager. Did
- 46:11you share a bed with anyone at that house? Ransom
- 46:13with redacted? Menager? Were you in a relationship with redacted? Ransom? No, Menager,
- 46:19you slept in a bed with redacted in the apartment
- 46:22on the Upper east Side. Ransom, that's correct, Menager. What
- 46:26was the address of that apartment? Ransom, I can't remember. Manager.
- 46:31Do you have any way of reaching redacted now? Ransom? No, No,
- 46:34I don't. Menager. Do you know approximately where in New
- 46:39York it was besides the Upper east Side, Ransom, I
- 46:42just remember it being the Upper east Side. I can't
- 46:45remember the exact location, Menager, any of the cross streets. Ransom.
- 46:50I went there the other day and it looks it
- 46:52looks familiar. I can't I can't remember specifically. Menager. You
- 46:58went to the apartment the other day, Ransom, No, I
- 47:01didn't go to the apartment the other day. I went
- 47:03to the Upper east Side yesterday the other day. Sorry,
- 47:06but I can't remember where the apartment was. No Menager.
- 47:10Was it a walk up or a doorman or elevator
- 47:13kind of building? Ransom? It was an elevator building, Menager.
- 47:18Was there a doorman? Ransom? No manager? What floor were
- 47:21you on? Ransom? I can't remember, Menager, And you don't
- 47:25remember how you met redacted? Mister Gergis objection, Ransom. I
- 47:30met loads of people during that time. I can't specifically
- 47:33remember how I met every individual, Menager. And in the
- 47:37same house there was redacted and another guy, Ransom. That's correct.
- 47:42McAuley objection mistakes to that. She's interrupted by Menainger. Do
- 47:47you remember the other guy's name? Ransom? I can't remember, Menager.
- 47:52How long did you live with redacted and the other
- 47:54guy Ransom? For a I think it was a couple
- 47:57of months until I moved, Menager. And where did you move?
- 48:02Answer to Jeffrey Epstein's apartment, Menager. What was the addressed
- 48:07to that? Ransom? I think it was two thousand, sorry,
- 48:11two five East. It was midtown somewhere, Menager. I'm sorry
- 48:16what Ransom. It was sort of midtown. I'm not familiar
- 48:19with New York because I haven't been here and I
- 48:21don't live here. It was kind of Midtown his apartment, Menager. Okay, Ransom,
- 48:27if I recall, yeah, Menager, So it's two five East something, Ransom,
- 48:32it's east it's East something. It was the same It
- 48:36was the same apartment building that redacted lived in, because
- 48:39we lived in the same building. Manager. Did you live
- 48:42in the same apartment, Ransom? No, Menager. Did you have
- 48:46your own apartment? Ransom, yes, Menager. How big was the apartment? Ransom?
- 48:51It was massive? Menager. How many bedrooms did it have? Ransom?
- 48:55I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't and she
- 48:59gets cut off by my two or seven Ransom. I
- 49:03just I remember just the like the living room, and
- 49:06it was very spacious, Menager. Can you draw a picture
- 49:10of the layout of it, Ransom, I wouldn't remember the
- 49:13layout there was. I remember like a pale blue decor, Menager.
- 49:19And no one else lived there with you? Ransom, No, Menager.
- 49:23And you don't know how many bedrooms Ransom. I can't
- 49:26remember how many bedrooms there were? Menager. Was there a doorman? Ransom? Oh,
- 49:31I can't remember. Manager. Was it a walk up or elevator? Ransom? Elevator? Menager?
- 49:38What floor were you on? Ransom, I can't remember. Menager. Approximately,
- 49:43when did you move into this apartment? Ransom? It was
- 49:46not long after I moved in with redacted, about two months,
- 49:49I think about two months, I think roughly, Menager. So
- 49:53you lived with redacted for about two months and then
- 49:56you moved into this other apartment, Ransom, that's correct, Mener.
- 50:01And how much were you paying for this new apartment? Ransom? Oh,
- 50:04it was Jeffrey's. I didn't pay a single thing, Menager.
- 50:07And who else lived in the apartment building? Answer? Quite
- 50:11a gosh, a few, actually, I recall redacted. So they're
- 50:14talking about the building on East sixty first Street here,
- 50:18and this is a building that Epstein owned with his
- 50:20brother Mark, and where a lot of these traffic girls
- 50:23had apartments. So, just for a little clarification, Menainger, do
- 50:29you know redacted's last name? Ransom? I can't remember her
- 50:34last name or Redacted's last name, Meninger. Okay, who else? Ransom?
- 50:39There were a few other girls. I can't remember their names, Meninger,
- 50:43none of them, Ransom, No, it was a long time ago, Menainger.
- 50:48What did they look like? These other women that you
- 50:51can't remember? Ransom? I can't remember. There were so many,
- 50:55there were so many girls, a constant influx of girls.
- 51:00How many McCauley objection, Ransom, I can't remember, Menager. Fifty.
- 51:05Gurgis objection, Ransom, I can't remember, Menager one hundred. Gurgis objection, Ransom,
- 51:12I can't remember, Menager. Can you say if it was
- 51:16more than a thousand or less? Gurgis objection, Ransom. I
- 51:21can't remember, Menager. You can't remember if it was more
- 51:25than a thousand? Ransom. I can't remember. Gurgis objection. McAuley objection.
- 51:30This is harassing. Gurgis objection. We're crossing a line here, Menager. Okay,
- 51:36I'm asking if she can remember if it was more
- 51:38than a thousand or less McCauley, but you haven't defined it.
- 51:43You're not saying where in the apartment in general, when
- 51:46she met Jeffrey, I mean to this, Menager cuts her off.
- 51:50I'm asking her she said there were so many women
- 51:52that there were an influx in the apartment, and I'm
- 51:55asking how many. McCauley. She didn't say in the apartment.
- 51:59Go back, look at the testimony, Ransom. In the apartment building, Menager,
- 52:05right in the building. How many females did you meet
- 52:07in the building. Gurgis objection, Ransom, I can't remember, Menager.
- 52:13And can you say it was more or less than
- 52:15one thousand? Gurgis objection, Ransom, It was less than a
- 52:19thousand girls, Menager. Was it less than one hundred? Ransom, Yes,
- 52:23it was less than one hundred Menager? Was it less
- 52:26than fifty? Ransom? I can't remember. Manager, apart from or dacted,
- 52:31can you name any other one of the females that
- 52:34you met in the apartment building? Gurgis objection, Ransom, I
- 52:39can't remember, Menager. Can you describe any of them? Gurgiz
- 52:43objection Ransom, I can't remember, Menager. Did you do any
- 52:47employment while you were here in the US in the
- 52:50fall of two thousand and six? Gurgis objection, Ransom. I
- 52:54did freelance modeling. Menager. Who did you do that for? Ransom?
- 52:59Various photonographers? Manager. Do you still have the photograph still? Ransom? No, Menager.
- 53:05Do you have a portfolio? Ransom? I used to have one. Manager.
- 53:09Do you currently have a portfolio? Ms McCauley objection, asked
- 53:13an answered Ransom, Yeah, I got a couple. Manager. Where
- 53:18are they? Ransom at home? Manager in Barcelona? Ransom, that's correct, Menager,
- 53:24Are they on a computer? Ransom? No, Manager, when you
- 53:27came to the US in the fall of two thousand
- 53:29and six, was there a limit on how long you
- 53:32could stay here? Mister Gergis objection, ransom, Yes, there was, Manager,
- 53:38What was that Ransom? It was a three month tourist visa. Manager.
- 53:43Were you permitted to be employed while you were here
- 53:45on a tourist visa? Gurgis objection. Hold on a second, here, Manager,
- 53:50I don't know what kind of visa she was on.
- 53:52I'm just asking the question, Gurgis. I don't know why
- 53:56her visa status is relevant or why we're going to
- 53:59get into things that redacted might be interested in. So
- 54:03I'm not going to have her sit here and testify
- 54:05about whether she was complying with immigration law or not. Menager,
- 54:10Is she taking the Fifth Amendment? Gurgis, I'm just not
- 54:14sure that you need to ask the question, Menager. Well,
- 54:16I did ask the question. I want to know if
- 54:19she was permitted on the type of visa she came
- 54:22in on the fall of two thousand and six to
- 54:24engage in paid work. Gurgis. Okay, now that I hear
- 54:27the question, you can answer it if you know the answer, Ransom, No, Menager, No,
- 54:33you were not permitted to do paid work, correct Ransom.
- 54:37That's correct, Manager, you did paid employment while you were
- 54:40here on the tourist visa, correct Ransom. I wouldn't quite say.
- 54:45I mean, I kind of. I wasn't that great at it.
- 54:48So I didn't make a lot of money doing modeling.
- 54:50I was too fat, apparently, so I wouldn't say I
- 54:53milked the bank there, Ransom, milk the bank with my
- 54:57modeling career. Then sarcastically, she adds a amazing modeling career. Manager,
- 55:02So you came over in order to further your education.
- 55:06I think you testified to earlier, correct Ransom. That's correct. Manager.
- 55:10So while you were here during those three months was
- 55:13it three months you said at first on the tourist visa,
- 55:16correct Ransom. Yeah. Manager. When you were here those first
- 55:20three months, what did you do to further your education? Ransom?
- 55:25I started looking at universities or colleges, researching what was
- 55:29the right one for me to go to. By that stage,
- 55:32I've I've always been interested in the fashion industry, designing, clothes, designing,
- 55:36and New York was well, this is the place to
- 55:39be for it. So yeah, I did quite a lot
- 55:42of research on which university, what kind of people there were,
- 55:45and etc. Etc. So, Manager, how were you supporting yourself
- 55:49while you were living in New York during the three
- 55:51month period after you initially arrived, Ransom, I had some savings. Manager.
- 55:58Was your family providing you any money? Ransom? No, Manager.
- 56:02Apart from your savings, was there any other source of
- 56:05income during October or so of two thousand and six?
- 56:08Ransom I did the occasional I guess job where I
- 56:12was called to entertain or spend time with people, But
- 56:15that was about it. Menager. What does that mean? Ransom? Well,
- 56:20I don't really like to use the word per se
- 56:22because you guys kind of in your legal minds have
- 56:25it in a box of what you think it is.
- 56:27But like, once or twice I was paid to spend
- 56:30dinner with a gentleman during that time, Menager. And how
- 56:34did you meet that gentleman? Ransom? It was through an agency. Manager.
- 56:38What was the name of that agency? Ransom, I can't remember, Menager.
- 56:43Do you know where it was located? Ransom? No, Manager,
- 56:47Do you know how much you were paid to spend
- 56:49dinner with a gentleman? Ransom? It depends on how long
- 56:53the dinner was for Menager and what was the most
- 56:56that you recall making for spending dinner with a gentleman
- 57:00Ransom fifteen hundred. Manager, did you engage in any sexual
- 57:04relations with the gentleman Ransom? One? Yeah, once or twice,
- 57:08but it was on my own accord. It was after
- 57:11that time period had finished. Manager, what time period? Ransom,
- 57:15my appointment, my dinner with them, Menager? Okay, Ransom, he
- 57:20just happened to be really good looking. Gergis, it's been
- 57:23about an hour. Maybe we can take five minutes, Manager, Sure,
- 57:27So we're gonna wrap up right here too, and in
- 57:29the next episode we'll pick up where we left off.
- 57:32All of the information that goes with this episode can
