- 0:01Speaker 1: What to do. Man, We're back again The Grounded Show,
- 0:04Speaker 1: Episode one five, Man Going Strong, and today we got
- 0:09Speaker 1: the special guests Giordani, like low key Man, he been
- 0:14Speaker 1: part of part of the how do I say this?
- 0:18Speaker 1: He been part of the energy and the vibes of
- 0:21Speaker 1: the group, like from a distance, and then like little
- 0:24Speaker 1: by little we've been having like studio sessions and stuff,
- 0:27Speaker 1: and it's just been getting more vibe you by the session.
- 0:31Speaker 1: It's crazy because when me and him started recording, I
- 0:33Speaker 1: was like, Yo, you gotta understand that this is gonna
- 0:36Speaker 1: take a little bit of time, you know what I mean, Like,
- 0:38Speaker 1: you gotta build it up. You gotta find your sound,
- 0:41Speaker 1: you gotta find what you like, even your process and everything.
- 0:44Speaker 1: And a lot of people don't make it past that
- 0:46Speaker 1: beginning stage. Like if they don't make a hit in
- 0:48Speaker 1: the first you know, one or two sessions, they get discouraged.
- 0:51Speaker 1: But man, you stuck through it. And we have some
- 0:53Speaker 1: pretty dope sessions recently, and we're actually gonna drop some Music's.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Gonna be dope.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Man, It's gonna be fine, yeah, man, But we're gonna
- 1:01Speaker 1: get right into it. Man. We just passed Game one
- 1:04Speaker 1: of the NBA Finals man, and everybody thought it was
- 1:07Speaker 1: about to be a molly wopping of epic proportions. They
- 1:12Speaker 1: thought okay See was gonna wipe the floor with the Pacers.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Me and you actually talked about it before. I felt
- 1:19Speaker 1: like okay S was gonna win, but I felt like
- 1:21Speaker 1: the Pacers was gonna make it real interesting, like, you know,
- 1:24Speaker 1: make it like a six or seven game series. But
- 1:26Speaker 1: I did think okay S was gonna win. What was
- 1:29Speaker 1: your prediction before the series?
- 1:31Speaker 3: For me, I think Indiana got it one. I'm kind
- 1:33Speaker 3: of ruined for the other dog. I'm not gonna lie,
- 1:36Speaker 3: but I definitely thought Indiana got it because one, obviously,
- 1:38Speaker 3: throughout the playoffs they've played a lot of tough games,
- 1:41Speaker 3: and they've won a lot of tough games, a lot
- 1:43Speaker 3: of games that they really should have gone. So that
- 1:45Speaker 3: gives you a lot of confidence going into the finals.
- 1:47Speaker 3: So kind of going in with all of that confidence,
- 1:49Speaker 3: you never really they never really fell out of it.
- 1:52Speaker 2: And they do it.
- 1:53Speaker 3: They do it, especially that last game, that Game one,
- 1:56Speaker 3: they did a great job of keeping the game close,
- 1:58Speaker 3: keep the game close enough, a few miss shots, the
- 2:00Speaker 3: game's gonna change.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Yeah, Man, Specifically about that Game one, when I seen
- 2:06Speaker 1: it from the from the tip off, seeing them together
- 2:09Speaker 1: on the floor, Indiana and Oka. See. I just liked
- 2:14Speaker 1: the matchup, Bro, I saw. I saw how everybody kind
- 2:16Speaker 1: of looked against each other. People be forgetting man, Indiana's deep,
- 2:20Speaker 1: and they got athletic people on their team. Bro, like
- 2:23Speaker 1: Obi Topping is no scrub, y'all seen he did some
- 2:26Speaker 1: damage five threes, you know what I'm saying. And he
- 2:29Speaker 1: was out there just being aggressive and like I said,
- 2:31Speaker 1: Bro's big dude, athletic. That kind of dude is always
- 2:35Speaker 1: going to be useful on the court. Bro three and
- 2:37Speaker 1: d guy to the max Yo ay yo. But yeah, man,
- 2:41Speaker 1: I really thought, just off rip dang, the Pacers really
- 2:45Speaker 1: match up with Indiana. I mean, Pacers really match up
- 2:48Speaker 1: with OKAC. And then I noticed that in the beginning,
- 2:52Speaker 1: Carlisle was doing a lot of like what they call
- 2:54Speaker 1: like like like hockey bench clearouts, you know what I'm saying,
- 2:58Speaker 1: where they like the whole fresh five come in and
- 3:02Speaker 1: take out all the people that's in. And it kind
- 3:05Speaker 1: of seemed like he was definitely bracing for a long
- 3:08Speaker 1: game and expecting it to go down to the wire,
- 3:10Speaker 1: which the way he was coaching and one last thing
- 3:14Speaker 1: I wanted to say is it was crazy how much
- 3:17Speaker 1: OKC changed their regular game plan in that game. Like
- 3:21Speaker 1: everybody noticed it off rip like, oh man, Hartenstein's not
- 3:24Speaker 1: in the starting lineup. They went small, They went small
- 3:27Speaker 1: down the down the end of the game, you know
- 3:30Speaker 1: what I mean. It was definitely something that made you
- 3:33Speaker 1: scratch your head. And even though you really could say
- 3:36Speaker 1: it paid off because they were stifling them and they
- 3:39Speaker 1: really had that game in the back, they just really
- 3:41Speaker 1: let it go. So it's hard to say that they
- 3:43Speaker 1: played wrong or played bad. It was a crazy game, man,
- 3:47Speaker 1: it was crazy.
- 3:48Speaker 3: The one thing is like, especially like with game ones, traditionally,
- 3:52Speaker 3: especially like when you're really paying attention, that's when the
- 3:54Speaker 3: coaches try a lot of different things. So you'll see
- 3:57Speaker 3: a lot of a lot of wear stuff. Obviously that
- 3:59Speaker 3: felt really funky, But a lot of times they'll try
- 4:01Speaker 3: to you know, the game one is usually your toss up,
- 4:03Speaker 3: so they'll try certain stuff, see what work, and they'll
- 4:06Speaker 3: see if they'll like it, and in that way they
- 4:08Speaker 3: know if they can use it later. Sometimes that's why
- 4:09Speaker 3: you saw Rick Carlisle doing his whole big switch, see
- 4:13Speaker 3: see what energy he can probably grab and things like that.
- 4:15Speaker 3: It's just it's game one. This is time to try
- 4:18Speaker 3: different things. You don't want to be trying different things,
- 4:21Speaker 3: but by game three you want to kind of have
- 4:22Speaker 3: the other group figured out. And by throwing different things
- 4:25Speaker 3: out there, you know, it just keep it interesting and
- 4:28Speaker 3: it kind of makes it to where by game two
- 4:30Speaker 3: they got to really take a look and really get
- 4:33Speaker 3: into film to really make sure that they on point.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and Carlisle is a dude that superseason, been to
- 4:39Speaker 1: plenty of finals, you know, twice as a head coach,
- 4:43Speaker 1: once as an assistant coach, So it's one of those
- 4:45Speaker 1: things where he knows you don't know what to expect
- 4:48Speaker 1: from your players game one, just because buying those nerves.
- 4:51Speaker 1: His team right now is real young, so he definitely
- 4:53Speaker 1: don't know what to expect. So, like you said, let
- 4:56Speaker 1: me see, let me throw these guys out there, See
- 4:58Speaker 1: who looks comfortable, See what's working, see what lineups I like.
- 5:02Speaker 1: One of the big details that I actually got hit
- 5:05Speaker 1: too after the fact was the Nemhard and Shade connection
- 5:09Speaker 1: as far as Team Canada goes, you know what I mean,
- 5:12Speaker 1: and Lou Dort as well, but just as far as
- 5:14Speaker 1: being on opposite teams. You think about you know them team,
- 5:20Speaker 1: you know them country practices and those runs and those
- 5:26Speaker 1: games that they play in the Olympics. That's high level basketball.
- 5:30Speaker 1: So they're playing pretty much like to the level of
- 5:33Speaker 1: like what they do in the NBA. So these dudes
- 5:36Speaker 1: have seen each other at like the top, top, top
- 5:40Speaker 1: competitive form, you know what I mean. And it was
- 5:42Speaker 1: almost like one of those things where where people were
- 5:45Speaker 1: kind of surprised, like, dang them. Heart is really just
- 5:48Speaker 1: going as Shade. And even though Shade had his points,
- 5:51Speaker 1: it took him twenty seven shots to do it. I
- 5:53Speaker 1: believe I think it was twenty seven. But yeah, I mean, yeah,
- 5:57Speaker 1: he had thirty eight, but twenty seven shots, get it
- 6:01Speaker 1: and you missed, you missed the one that counted, and
- 6:04Speaker 1: Themhart made the one that counted. You know. Obviously Halla
- 6:08Speaker 1: Burn was the one that hit the game winner, but
- 6:10Speaker 1: Nemhart set that up for sure, which is a crazy
- 6:12Speaker 1: heat checked Like I don't even bro he was just like, man,
- 6:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna just take this shot. That was crazy, man.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Yeah, he probably comfortable because obviously, like especially when they
- 6:21Speaker 3: play for those countries, they played together for years. It's
- 6:23Speaker 3: not like they get they're getting together once a year
- 6:26Speaker 3: for a long extended period of time. So he's comfortable
- 6:28Speaker 3: playing against him. That's like he's he knows, he probably
- 6:31Speaker 3: knows Shay's game. He's comfortable. It's not like he's playing
- 6:34Speaker 3: against so you know, just like somebody else. It's not
- 6:37Speaker 3: like he's playing against Russell. He kind of has to
- 6:39Speaker 3: figure out. He already kind of knows Shane. He's already
- 6:41Speaker 3: kind of confident. Yeah, so you know, it keeps it.
- 6:44Speaker 3: I think I think that little connection of being able
- 6:47Speaker 3: to see it is gonna make the matchup that much better.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it's definitely. I like the matchups. I like the teams.
- 6:54Speaker 1: A lot of people were kind of grown in that
- 6:56Speaker 1: this ended up being the finals, but to me, they
- 6:59Speaker 1: were obviously in the playoffs the best teams. It's insane
- 7:03Speaker 1: that Halleburn got a game winner in each round.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Bro, That's it's crazy.
- 7:08Speaker 1: It's crazy, man, Like they they really you know, right now,
- 7:11Speaker 1: the big conversation is is he a superstar? Is he
- 7:14Speaker 1: not a superstar? Like they trying to put him on
- 7:16Speaker 1: whatever tier list. And it's so funny to me because
- 7:19Speaker 1: a lot of these people on these analyst shows and stuff,
- 7:22Speaker 1: they value winning so much, and they're always talking about
- 7:25Speaker 1: the ring. They're always talking about you finishing the job
- 7:28Speaker 1: or whatever he's finishing. He's literally clutching up in the
- 7:34Speaker 1: most historical way possible every round, making sure it gets
- 7:39Speaker 1: done underdog every round. Like what are we talking about
- 7:43Speaker 1: right now? Like y'all are trying to now say, oh,
- 7:45Speaker 1: are you a superstar? Now? Before y'all was saying are
- 7:47Speaker 1: you going to close or not? You know what I'm saying, Now,
- 7:50Speaker 1: you're changing the goal post because Halleburn got a different
- 7:53Speaker 1: style of game. He's not necessarily giving you thirty a night,
- 7:56Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. It's kind of corny, man,
- 7:58Speaker 1: Like we've already been known that the NBA commentary and
- 8:03Speaker 1: all these shows and stuff are like washed. So it's
- 8:07Speaker 1: just one of those things where I just be laughing
- 8:09Speaker 1: at the way they be trying to talk about Halleburn, Like, Yo,
- 8:12Speaker 1: this dude is getting it done taking his team to
- 8:15Speaker 1: the finals now, Like it's insane, bro, Like they they
- 8:19Speaker 1: just they're really not watching the game. They're looking at
- 8:23Speaker 1: the paper and saying, DANMGN, this guy not a superstar, Like,
- 8:26Speaker 1: come on, man, let's be serious.
- 8:27Speaker 3: You're trying they're trying to find clickbait. So you think
- 8:30Speaker 3: he's a superstar.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I mean, to me, a super like by the definition
- 8:35Speaker 1: of what like they're trying to say on like ESPN. No,
- 8:38Speaker 1: But for my definition, which is a dude that in
- 8:42Speaker 1: the playoffs, you know he's gonna give you his best basketball.
- 8:47Speaker 1: That's a superstar to me, and that's Halliburn to me.
- 8:50Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, I don't care, bro. Like.
- 8:52Speaker 1: It goes back to the Harden argument. Bro, Harden is
- 8:55Speaker 1: a superstar. He got the highlight Reel, he got the accolades,
- 8:58Speaker 1: he got all these trophies. But a Game seven or
- 9:02Speaker 1: even just you know, random spots in a playoff series,
- 9:06Speaker 1: he goes silent. Bro. He plays like the ninth guy
- 9:09Speaker 1: on the bench. Bro. It's like, do you really want
- 9:12Speaker 1: that guy or do you want Tyrese Halliburn that's gonna
- 9:15Speaker 1: get you there.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I wouldn't say tyres is a superstar because there's
- 9:19Speaker 3: a certain consistency. There's you know, yeah, he's done it,
- 9:22Speaker 3: but it's like once or twice we need to see
- 9:24Speaker 3: it's gotta be more than just this one little run,
- 9:27Speaker 3: you feel me. There's a certain consistency because especially with playoffs,
- 9:31Speaker 3: there's a certain amount of and I'm not saying he's lucky,
- 9:34Speaker 3: but there's a certain amount of luck. There's a certain
- 9:36Speaker 3: amount of just everything gotta be lined up right a
- 9:39Speaker 3: certain sink. So I definitely think he's a star. I
- 9:42Speaker 3: think there's a certain amount of consistency. So a little bit,
- 9:46Speaker 3: you know, a little bit more you need to add
- 9:48Speaker 3: to the resume in terms of a year or two
- 9:52Speaker 3: just to kind of be considered superstar. There's a certain
- 9:54Speaker 3: consistency that comes with that. I feel, like my personal opinion,
- 9:58Speaker 3: I'm not gonna base it on any or anything. I
- 10:00Speaker 3: just think there's a consistency like, Okay, cool, he did
- 10:02Speaker 3: it this year, Let's do it again next year, and
- 10:04Speaker 3: then let's do it again in the year after that.
- 10:05Speaker 3: There's a certain consistency that comes with that. And you
- 10:08Speaker 3: know what I'm saying, that's it.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Yeah, there's definitely like a certain energy that him and
- 10:13Speaker 1: that team bring where it's like they're making sure they're
- 10:16Speaker 1: never out of it. Yeah, which is to me, like
- 10:18Speaker 1: the most impressive thing. Like even with how I think
- 10:21Speaker 1: they had nineteen turnovers at the half, but they was
- 10:24Speaker 1: down by like eleven or something like that like it
- 10:26Speaker 1: was something where they were in the game the whole time.
- 10:28Speaker 1: They never even really let it get to like seventeen eighteen,
- 10:31Speaker 1: nineteen twenty. They kept it in that thirteen fourteen range
- 10:35Speaker 1: eleven nine thirteen fourteen, know what I mean. And they
- 10:38Speaker 1: get to the fourth quarter a lot of rotations, so
- 10:41Speaker 1: a lot of their guys are fresh, and they really
- 10:44Speaker 1: just bro the way they closing in these playoffs is insane. Bro.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Even I was talking to my wife and I was
- 10:51Speaker 1: telling her how good the playoffs have been this year
- 10:53Speaker 1: compared to like before, and She's like, yeah, because she
- 10:57Speaker 1: knows because I've been like yelling more like I watch
- 11:00Speaker 1: a game, you know what I'm saying, Like, there's been
- 11:03Speaker 1: so many crazy plays this playoffs. I can't wait to
- 11:06Speaker 1: see the compilation they do at the end with all
- 11:09Speaker 1: the different stuff, because bro, it was insane.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Yeah, they were insane.
- 11:13Speaker 1: I'm hype man that the NBA is, Like, I feel
- 11:16Speaker 1: like it's back because it was like in a little
- 11:18Speaker 1: low you know what.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, for sure, I'm enjoying it. Guys are again
- 11:23Speaker 3: after it. Yeah, fact it's still got some tweaks, but yeah.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Speaking of tweaks, you got a lot of coach movement.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Even in the last year or two, there's been a
- 11:33Speaker 1: lot of coaches that have been fired or you know,
- 11:37Speaker 1: left different places or went to different places, And there's
- 11:41Speaker 1: always this argument of like experience with coaches. Should you
- 11:45Speaker 1: get a coach with no experience with experience, what kind
- 11:49Speaker 1: of background they should have or whatever. But it's kind
- 11:51Speaker 1: of like one of those things where I feel like
- 11:53Speaker 1: it's more just obviously knowledge of the game, but your
- 11:58Speaker 1: people's skills, you know what I mean. If you got
- 12:01Speaker 1: game knowledge, man, you know how to get through the people.
- 12:03Speaker 1: It don't really matter how long you've been doing it.
- 12:06Speaker 1: If you get the opportunity and you're that person, you
- 12:08Speaker 1: can make it happen. Like I feel like, even and
- 12:10Speaker 1: not just basketball, Like there's all these sports, and it
- 12:14Speaker 1: even just goes to regular jobs, you know what I'm saying,
- 12:16Speaker 1: Like there's certain jobs that they require certain accolades, but
- 12:20Speaker 1: you know that the guy that's been working at that
- 12:23Speaker 1: place for five years at a lower position could do
- 12:26Speaker 1: that position better than anybody else, regardless of the accolades,
- 12:29Speaker 1: because he knows the system, you know what I mean.
- 12:31Speaker 1: And it's one of those things where like with coaches,
- 12:34Speaker 1: for me, bro I could go either way with them,
- 12:36Speaker 1: but I could also understand that if you're not a
- 12:38Speaker 1: good one, you definitely can get in the way of
- 12:41Speaker 1: things slash not lead it where it needs to go,
- 12:44Speaker 1: you know what I mean.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Definitely, I think, but I also think at the same time,
- 12:49Speaker 3: they also take a lot of flack more than they
- 12:53Speaker 3: probably should. Yeah, but it's definitely interesting, especially looking around
- 12:56Speaker 3: the NBA and kind of seeing some of the guys
- 12:57Speaker 3: that they've kind of let go. I'm a Nuggets fan,
- 13:00Speaker 3: so us laying Mike Malono was definitely a head scratcher that,
- 13:04Speaker 3: but that also kind of shows there's certain things that
- 13:06Speaker 3: happen behind the behind the scenes in terms of, you know,
- 13:10Speaker 3: certain coaches gott to build a certain type of culture,
- 13:12Speaker 3: and obviously if the front office is not linked with
- 13:15Speaker 3: the coach and they all kind of have the same
- 13:17Speaker 3: understanding of that culture, a lot of times there's certain
- 13:20Speaker 3: things that obviously we as people who are just spectating
- 13:23Speaker 3: probably don't even know about. Just in general, that's probably
- 13:26Speaker 3: kind of why you kind of see a lot of
- 13:27Speaker 3: it bouncing around. Personally, I do think you have to
- 13:31Speaker 3: let a coach kind of get in there and really
- 13:33Speaker 3: establish themselves so.
- 13:34Speaker 2: I definitely agree with you.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Somebody that's coming in that's already been there, that already
- 13:37Speaker 3: knows the system can do a really good job. But
- 13:40Speaker 3: it also depends on that person's personality too. That personality,
- 13:44Speaker 3: but then it also depends Basketball is so tricky. There's
- 13:46Speaker 3: a lot of things that are that that has to
- 13:48Speaker 3: come together right because, yeah, that person that might have
- 13:50Speaker 3: great people skills and all that good stuff too, but
- 13:52Speaker 3: then the team gotta click right and the things got
- 13:55Speaker 3: to make sense. The type of system that they want
- 13:57Speaker 3: to run has to match the players that they have.
- 14:00Speaker 3: You can't say you're going to run a gun and
- 14:01Speaker 3: shoot threes and can't nobody on the team shoot threes.
- 14:04Speaker 2: It don't make sense.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Yeah, there's so many pieces on the team and just
- 14:08Speaker 1: around the team, with you know, personal coaches, managers, agents,
- 14:14Speaker 1: it's a lot, you know, bro, Like you said, so
- 14:17Speaker 1: many things have to come together. And like, if you
- 14:21Speaker 1: have somebody that can control all these personalities and egos
- 14:25Speaker 1: and say, yo, let's lock in for this common goal exactly,
- 14:28Speaker 1: that's the guy that's gonna get you there, regardless of experience.
- 14:31Speaker 3: They just got to I feel like they just got
- 14:33Speaker 3: to give coaches chances to do it, Like no facts,
- 14:35Speaker 3: Popovich had a lot of chances. Even when they weren't good,
- 14:40Speaker 3: they still didn't They didn't get rid of Popovich.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like, you know, in the NFL as well,
- 14:45Speaker 1: like even with players too, and players in systems, they're
- 14:51Speaker 1: putting certain players in positions where their team is not
- 14:55Speaker 1: that good, but they're expecting them to turn franchises around.
- 14:58Speaker 1: And it's like, bro, I forgot who said it, and
- 15:01Speaker 1: I forgot where I saw. Honestly, man, I know it
- 15:05Speaker 1: wasn't my idea, but basically, somebody said, where in America
- 15:10Speaker 1: do you see somebody that's the top of their field
- 15:15Speaker 1: and they pull them and put them at the worst
- 15:17Speaker 1: place possible and expect them to make it number one,
- 15:20Speaker 1: like in a year, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 15:22Speaker 1: they're not going to get the number one heart surgeon
- 15:24Speaker 1: and put him in the worst hospital and say, yo,
- 15:27Speaker 1: make this worst hospital the number one hospital on one year.
- 15:30Speaker 1: We're not gonna change nothing, We're just gonna add you.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Yeah, that's it.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Come on, bro, It's insane.
- 15:35Speaker 2: It's nasty.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Yeah, man, that that expectation they be putting on, like
- 15:39Speaker 1: players and coaches and certain people when they put them
- 15:42Speaker 1: in these positions like it's insane. Bro. Like you said,
- 15:47Speaker 1: there's so many things I got to come together, man,
- 15:49Speaker 1: that you know whenever you can make it happen. That's
- 15:51Speaker 1: why it's like a once in a lifetime type thing.
- 15:53Speaker 1: That's why these people get so emotional because they know
- 15:56Speaker 1: this is like a dream coming true, you know what
- 15:58Speaker 1: I mean.
- 15:59Speaker 3: But especially lately as it's been crazy because you could
- 16:01Speaker 3: do everything right and still get fired.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Facts you could, Bro, so many championship coaches. I've gotten
- 16:07Speaker 1: fired for NFL and NBA. Bro, Like it's insane. Theyn't
- 16:10Speaker 1: win a championship a year or two later they gone, right,
- 16:13Speaker 1: it's wild, bro. But yeah, man, speaking of winning a
- 16:19Speaker 1: championship and then it's gone. Man. We were talking before
- 16:23Speaker 1: about the music stuff. Russ did an interview and he
- 16:26Speaker 1: basically said that one of his songs that he had
- 16:29Speaker 1: got a sample on, he didn't get the song cleared,
- 16:33Speaker 1: and basically getting the song clear means that you ran
- 16:35Speaker 1: it through the person that you got the sample from,
- 16:37Speaker 1: me say hey, I'm gonna use a little piece of
- 16:40Speaker 1: your song. Here, here's some money for me to use it.
- 16:44Speaker 1: He didn't do that, forgot to do it, he said,
- 16:47Speaker 1: probably would have ran him like five thousand dollars to
- 16:49Speaker 1: clear the sample at the time because he didn't clear
- 16:52Speaker 1: the sample, and they came back and basically got him
- 16:55Speaker 1: for the money that the song made. He ended up
- 16:58Speaker 1: paying eight hundred and fifty K. Damn, bro insane. And
- 17:03Speaker 1: it's like, that's one of them things where like when
- 17:06Speaker 1: when I'm in a studio, I'm trying real hard to
- 17:08Speaker 1: cook up something like organic from scratch, right, and sometimes
- 17:12Speaker 1: it takes a little longer. Sometimes you don't make something
- 17:15Speaker 1: that's as good, you know what I'm saying. But at
- 17:17Speaker 1: the end of the day, Bro, if I'm going to
- 17:19Speaker 1: make something and that thing is gonna go crazy, I
- 17:23Speaker 1: want it to be something that I did. I don't
- 17:24Speaker 1: want to I don't want to have leaned on somebody
- 17:27Speaker 1: for I don't want to have to pay somebody for it.
- 17:29Speaker 1: It's like, this is my creation, a to z, you
- 17:32Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. But it's it's it's crazy, man,
- 17:35Speaker 1: It's crazy to think about it. And it's one of
- 17:37Speaker 1: those things too, where like sometimes when you're a lower
- 17:41Speaker 1: level artist, who do you even reach out to the
- 17:43Speaker 1: clear a sample?
- 17:44Speaker 2: Right?
- 17:45Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, like, if you're just a guy,
- 17:48Speaker 1: if you're me in my studio, like, oh man, I
- 17:51Speaker 1: really want to use this usher sample. Let me go
- 17:53Speaker 1: away in contact with usher, Like it's not gonna happen though, right,
- 17:57Speaker 1: And it's like, man, sometimes you got to take that
- 18:00Speaker 1: chance and and take that initial l you know what
- 18:03Speaker 1: I'm saying. I always feel like like because I always
- 18:07Speaker 1: equate it to school, you know what i mean, Like
- 18:09Speaker 1: some people don't go to college, and some people say, oh,
- 18:12Speaker 1: I'm not about to go into that debt. Cool, but
- 18:15Speaker 1: you're gonna if you're gonna be successful, you're gonna.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Go into that debt somehow, some way, somehow.
- 18:19Speaker 1: It might not necessarily be exactly money. It might not
- 18:23Speaker 1: you know, it might not be the same way that
- 18:25Speaker 1: the college is. But you're still gonna pay that price.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Anything that's that's worthwhile, that's gonna get you to that
- 18:31Speaker 1: next level. You're gonna pay a price. If it's a
- 18:33Speaker 1: big student loan, if it's ten years of suffering, if
- 18:37Speaker 1: it's whatever it is, Bro is gonna it's gonna tax
- 18:40Speaker 1: you regardless.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Yeah, one way or the other, you gotta get your whooping.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Yeah exactly, Bro, that's that's the best way to say it.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Man.
- 18:47Speaker 1: And speaking of allegedly getting your whooping man, Timberland announced
- 18:53Speaker 1: that he started this entertainment company where it's AI basically,
- 18:57Speaker 1: and he announced the first artist is an AI artist.
- 19:00Speaker 1: It's called Tata. So it's not even a real artist's
- 19:02Speaker 1: just an AI that he created. Right.
- 19:04Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Now, like the little subculture and music the rumblings are,
- 19:12Speaker 1: Timberland had a like a beat app that he was
- 19:15Speaker 1: basically doing collabse and like he so he kind of
- 19:19Speaker 1: sold the beat app on like yo, this is a
- 19:22Speaker 1: place for artists and producers to connect and stuff this platform,
- 19:26Speaker 1: and you have chances to collab with me if you're
- 19:29Speaker 1: you know, doing stuff on the app, right, So you know,
- 19:33Speaker 1: his people went there. Then he was doing these live
- 19:36Speaker 1: TikTok and like twitch type reviews of music and beats
- 19:40Speaker 1: and stuff. People could pay like five dollars or whatever
- 19:43Speaker 1: and they get in the queue and he's just on
- 19:45Speaker 1: live and he'll just listen to your beats or songs
- 19:48Speaker 1: or whatever and give his critiques or whatever. Now a
- 19:52Speaker 1: lot of the people are saying that's how he built
- 19:55Speaker 1: his AI because it's like you need a library of
- 19:59Speaker 1: whatever what ever, it is what the intelligence? Basically, you
- 20:02Speaker 1: need the intelligence for the AI to use the algorithm
- 20:06Speaker 1: to figure out how to make it better, make it quick, right,
- 20:10Speaker 1: And it's like where did you get all this stuff from?
- 20:12Speaker 2: Right?
- 20:13Speaker 1: I mean he's had a pipeline of music for years.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Yeah, he definitely is using that shit.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Bro, and it's crazy, dog Like, I don't know the
- 20:21Speaker 1: specifics of it. This is all like just what they're
- 20:23Speaker 1: accusing and like you know the ten foil half people
- 20:26Speaker 1: are saying right now, I'm definitely going to look into
- 20:29Speaker 1: it because there's definitely something where I'm like, man, that's crazy,
- 20:32Speaker 1: like just even scary to think about. Like that's like
- 20:36Speaker 1: a new way to get scammed now because like a
- 20:37Speaker 1: lot of artists be you know, people be telling them
- 20:40Speaker 1: this and that and they just be getting played left
- 20:43Speaker 1: and right. And now it's like, then you might send
- 20:45Speaker 1: your music to somebody and they might just use it
- 20:46Speaker 1: for their AI to make a better song. Bro.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:49Speaker 3: I don't know if the ones that were on the
- 20:50Speaker 3: TikTokers or Twitch, I don't know if those would probably use,
- 20:54Speaker 3: but I definitely think the ones that he put through
- 20:55Speaker 3: the app, Yeah, I think everybody should probably go look
- 20:58Speaker 3: at the little terms.
- 20:59Speaker 2: It's probably in there.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Yeah, bro. Matter of fact, for the next episode, I'm
- 21:02Speaker 1: gonna look up all that stuff. I'm gonna follow the
- 21:04Speaker 1: story because it's like Matt interesting to me obviously because
- 21:07Speaker 1: I make music. But it's like, dang, Bro, that's crazy
- 21:09Speaker 1: if they're just taken from original artists to just do
- 21:13Speaker 1: the AI stuff and then you're just you're cooked and
- 21:15Speaker 1: the AI is banking. Bro.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that's probably getting your whooping and you
- 21:19Speaker 3: gotta read the the turn but it ain't nobody really
- 21:21Speaker 3: reading those.
- 21:22Speaker 2: They just want to. They just want to get.
- 21:23Speaker 1: It's the same as it's clearing the sample. With us.
- 21:26Speaker 1: It was just the old school version of reading the
- 21:28Speaker 1: fine print, bro, exactly. And he ain't read the fine print,
- 21:31Speaker 1: and that's what ended up happening. That we're saying, Man,
- 21:34Speaker 1: everych something something is always gonna make you pay the
- 21:38Speaker 1: calls always. Yeah man. But yeah, man, I just really
- 21:43Speaker 1: wanted to get into this NBA stuff. Had a couple
- 21:46Speaker 1: of little topics to talk about. Shout out Joe Man.
- 21:49Speaker 1: He on vacation right now. He had a really crazy
- 21:52Speaker 1: week too.
- 21:52Speaker 3: Man.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I'm eager to talk about him and see how that
- 21:55Speaker 1: ended up for him because he was going through it.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Boy like, not nothing serious, but man, he was going
- 22:00Speaker 1: through it though. Yeah man for real. But man, appreciate
- 22:04Speaker 1: y'all checking us out. I appreciate you pulling up dog
- 22:06Speaker 1: definitely save me, my guy. But hey, man, stay butter.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Yeah yate
