- 0:02[SPEAKER_00]: Hi, folks.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to the episode of Film Study.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: This is Ken McCusik.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Did I break down of Cam Jurgen's or Block by Block scoring for the first four weeks of 2026 I want to share with you folks.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: Very high level notes I'll go over first and we'll get into some individual game grading.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: He played center for the first game for the Eagles and then left guard for the next three.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you look at him.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: He definitely knows who to block.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: He's much more of a professional center than what we've seen in the play so far for this year for the Ravens.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: He knows what blocks certainly the supposed to make.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: One thing about the Eagles, they're stunt exchanges and some of this has got to be coaching and other of it is the players involved are absolutely outstanding.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I look at these, I compare these to what the Ravens have done recently and they're a night and day, but they're really good at maintaining the proper depth to match those hand-off, to make them clean,
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: and in particular, Jurgen certainly has that ability, it's gone well, I would say this year, generally speaking, not a hundred percent of the time and that's why some of the grading has been what it was.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's very good at sorting through blitzes and traffic well to find an assignment.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: So when he has a block at the line of scrimmage with he doesn't know if he has to hand it all for night or where he might not be clear whether he has to hand it all for night.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: He usually has made the right choice in terms of who he's tried to block, including a block coming from level two with a hand off in one case that wasn't obvious to me, but certainly worked out.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: As a passblocker, he has a fairly good anchor.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't say it's a leap, but he plays with a nice wide base.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's very solid.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: There's not a lot of technical flaws in what he does in terms of crossing his feet or anything like that.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: That would be a very serious high school kind of error to make, but it doesn't do some other things in terms of getting off balance to it frequently.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: Does not spend a lot of time on the ground.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: unless it's by design with some of the Tush push player course he's certainly going to the ground on that for example but generally very sound fundamental player and you know brings up the question of course why has this year gone the way it's gone.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think he does something else in past blocking that I like is generally he's an attacking outside of the rim player
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: the opponent as far away from the quarterback as possible.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: He's not trying to die slowly and he doesn't feel the need to do that because normally he doesn't have to maintain his position relative to the quarterback with his feet by giving ground.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I've talked about Ronnie Stanley doing that a lot.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's just not been what Jurgen's does.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: And he is a, he's on a lot of double teams, of course, being its center and a few less at left guard, but still some and he, you know, often has the advantage of not having to
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely, I would say he respects what I consider to be the cone that the quarterback needs to feel comfortable throwing into, to step into, to throw.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: And that's been a good thing for him.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: And he has had, you know, it's not like the cone has not been repeated at all this year.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: It has been, but he's done, I think, shows a clear understanding of that in terms of how he attacks his opponent further away from the quarterback.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: Now, that said, all that said, the pressure rate has been much too high this year, particularly in the games where he started at left guard and at center in his first game, the problem was really the holding penalties, but in the left guard time, it's really been pressures has been the issue.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: He has not also been great at preventing elevation from his opponents.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: So this is something I score negatively.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: I know PFF does not, but you can take it to leave it as you see fit.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: But he has allowed some players to get elevated.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: One is engaged with them or not maintain the proper engagement to prevent that.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: people that showed before talking about punching and opponent in a stomach and doing other things to try and keep them from elevating.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: There are techniques to be used often times.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's just grip strength and how you're attached to that latched on to that opponent, your pass-bocking.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: If you have good length, it may be an attack.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: For example, you may be already working on the in the
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: armpit of your opponent and all these things can help prevent elevation and these are things that that's that's the shown up this year these allow to a couple of deflected passes at least one was solo and and maybe another two were shared as well so we'll talk through a little bit of that.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like many linemen, I think he can over commit to the block he's on and particularly I'm talking about an inside double team, particularly in left guard.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: He'd been helping the center and somebody else would would fire through that be gap and he would not be prepared to be able to block that guy.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: So that has been a problem with showing up occasionally in these four games that I looked at.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: he said four penalties and four games that's probably the most significant negative individual grading factor he's given up to much pressure but three offensive holding penalties already in four games and he's also got a a fall start involved that I have some measures on the value of those flags that'll kind of put it in perspective I hope for folks that that you know traditionally not been buying into the notion that penalties are very costly
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: Now, he did change to play left guard in week two.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: So since then, he's been very consistently bad.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: The week one game had pluses and minuses and in fact his big problem was penalties, but since then, it's been a combination of bad things.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: And it's fair to say that some of what's gone wrong has really just been a matter of that position change Ravens of course.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think we'll be moving it back to center and putting you want a guard and it's certainly the way you want a has the answered questions so they probably told him that I would certainly expect that to be case of these Emory Jones is out of a job this week as we understand it.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: he may not be out of the concussion protocol may not be ready to play if that's true Emory Jones would have another start at right guard and I think the ravens would be looking to figure out
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: what they have with Emory Jones last week terrible start came in minus two points on his first five plays and think of that as he's lost seven points off the maximum score he could get uh... read of the bat and then uh... the rest of the game he wasn't that we wasn't terrible he was a sea he was very physical for the remainder of the game missed some blocks uh... but didn't have any more negative events after that and and i think the ravens uh... if
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: All of a sudden, we would see an A at a both of those players in this game, there might even be a delay of getting Jurgens in the lineup.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: They might do it, but based on how Jurgens is played, I don't know why you would make that change if both Yuanay and Jones were playing in an extremely high level, but that is something the Ravens will obviously have to figure out after this week.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's get right to it in terms of the grading here, though, and this is I know what everybody really wants to hear.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: So in a week one against Washington, I'm going to go through this and and and talk through all the elements that I'm collecting here.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: He had 51 scored snaps 43 of those were made blocks.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: He had four that he missed, which means there's four other negative events that are in there that does not include the penalties here.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: He had
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: three a dozen in this case include one of the penalties, but anyway he had one half pressure a full pressure and a third of a pressure.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if you'll notice you go out to PFF, they've got them for zero pressures on the game and that's okay.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's definitely an issue that given those those two fractional pressures to somebody else or to nobody potentially.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: The full pressure is actually one time when he allowed Omena who to elevate and I know it was a single one on one block.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: I know they don't have a charge for that.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: They consider that to be herds' problem or not the linemen's problem anyway.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: But in my mind, this is something that you could have prevented.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, why do I score those guys at negative two in those plays?
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: Well, those are potentially very serious problems in terms of turnovers.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: So they have a big risk associated with them when a linemen blocks a pass like that.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: So it is something to be avoided and it can be avoided.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: There are methods to reduce that chance anyway.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: 3.67 points he lost on those three pressures that essentially is 1 and 5, 6 pressures and people aren't always happy with fractional pressures but it's a lot better tool set that I'm working with with all zeros and ones so you'd put it that way.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: And then he's got two offensive holding calls.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: Those caused him 10 points in this game.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: Very significant cost.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: I did get an analysis done.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: David Sullivan did this for me.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: I appreciate your David, by the way.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: And he looked at all four of the penalties that he had this year in terms of what the total cost was.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, he had a holding play at his own 39.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: the hard line in that game.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: That led to a stall drive.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: Then he had a holding call at the 6-yard line.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, the hurts bailed him out was 17-yard touchdown pass on 3rd to 17.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: So that drive didn't end up getting stalled.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: It was still quite a costly penalty, of course.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: Against Tennessee in quarter two, they were down all the way down to the 12-yard line.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: He had a holding penalty.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: And Hertz bailed him out again with a 22-yard touchdown pass, so his friend Jalen has helped him out a couple of times.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: And he had a fall start for you step in the Los Angeles game, and I don't recall.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: It was on 39.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: I presume that stole the drive, but I'm not 100% sure about that one.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: The total cost of those penalties was approximately 3.84 points.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: points added.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: Now it's not actual points, but it's expected points.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's as good as we can do one of the circumstances.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: There could have been bigger numbers involved in that if some of the plays themselves had been of positive value and they'd been, you know,
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: or they'd been of negative value and they'd been a declination in there.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't have it, none of these penalties were declined, so they were all accepted.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: So in a sense, they're the least possible costly version of this.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: There was one of the plays that got wiped out was a four-yard run by Barkley.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: He got first and gold from the six, which would have improved the situation.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: But generally speaking, I think 3.84 points is a pretty good example of that.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: That is a lot of points.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: particularly within the context of a center and a left guard and how they contribute to a football game.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you got 11 players and you got 22, including both sides of the ball, and you know, all of those guys are trying to contribute to some score differential that you had you win by.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: And to change by a, you know, a delta of minus 3.84 from one player on, you know, even spread out over four games like this is a pretty significant, you know, amount to overcome.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, the penalties are serious and it was minus 10 points in this game, PFF had him scored in the lowest 60s, I believe, for the game, which certainly have been a passing score, probably about to see if you believe their grade level.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: But they do not penalize for holding the way I do or for for for flags in general.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: I have him for 29.33 points out of a possible 51.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's 0.58 per play.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: Now a passing grade as center is 0.73.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: He did get a adjustment because he had some nice plays in terms of high light blocks and level 2's and whatnot.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: He got an adjustment of 0.06 in this game as a reflection of the combination of
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: quality of the opponent and other factors like the five highlight blocks he had in this game, but that only brings up at the point 64 and he's still 9 point short of a D- in that first game.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: So that was the first game was an F. Four level 2 is two pancakes, five highlight blocks, the five highlight boxes exceptional.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: I don't believe any Raven has had more than five highlight blocks this year.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's happened.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: I believe once
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: so far, it might have been Simpson in this last game who had five.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: So, that at least is certainly a positive.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: And you see him play, there's just something I had to ask him what not in this game.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: It was bad, but it wasn't completely fall off the table bad as I'd call it.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of people want to know if he had had no holding calls in that first game he would have had a C instead for that game.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: Don't take that to me and I really believe that he deserved to see in that game because I don't.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was pretty clearly an F game with those two holes.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: We two against Tennessee.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's moved to left guard for this game.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: Play 72 snaps.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, this is one of the things about the Eagles.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: They've been getting out snapped dramatically this year.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: Three of the games are very short snap games.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: And did have 72 against Tennessee where they had some maintain some long drives.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: He made 60 of his blocks, he had a eight missed, which is the most he had tied for the most in any game.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: He faced a combination of Simmons, Franklin Myers, and it's a lot of the guys who were on the inside this last week, and they did work him over pretty well in this game.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: He gave up a pressure and a half, so one shared and one full.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: He gave a quarterback hit.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: and he gave up a sack that's sack by the way, trying to remember whether as he tried to hand off Jacob Morton to the left tackle, but there wasn't anybody there.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: He should have just maintained that block, but that end up being Morton ran right around and got to the quarterback and dropped him.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: that was one he was beaten outside for a quarterback hit straight up by Simmons happened to a lot of people but not good he was bold then shed by Simmons for another separate pressure so that was one he had a shared pressure as well when he was bold by Franklin Myers and he shared that with the center on that play so a tough game for him lots of pressure events certainly against Tennessee he did also have another holding call in that game
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: That was a costly one that occurred down at the 12 yard line anyway 43 points on the game at a 72 That's 0.60 per play adjustment was 0.05 getting him to 0.65 at left guard or at any guard spot He needs a 67 in order to pass so he was 2 points short of passing for this game He did have some nice things he made four level two blocks one or two poles two more highlight blocks
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: And only four of his eight blocks that were missed were losses at the line of scrimmage.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: So what that typically means is he's climbing to level two and missing.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: He might have had in one poll that he missed in this game that wouldn't have counted in that category.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: So the losses at the line of scrimmage are kind of a more serious version of the miss.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: that I use and in determining what the appropriate adjustment is.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, two points short of a pass and great in that game.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_00]: I gave him a pretty beefy adjustment for facing the interior of the Tennessee line and he still came up a couple points short.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: We move on week three versus Chicago 47 plays and that really is a low number 38 blocks.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: He missed five of those four were losses at the line of scrimmage so that part certainly was not good.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: He gave up three pressures in the game.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_00]: They were all fulls that's a little unusual to have three pressures that are all fulls.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of pressures particularly on the interior end up being shared, but that was three fulls in his case.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: One quarterback hit he gave up as well so that ended up being four total negative events.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: 29.scored 29 out of 47 is 0.62.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_00]: I give them another pretty good adjustment of 0.05 in this game Which brought them up to the 0.67 and a D- and three level two blocks one pancake four high-light blocks That was the primary reason for that.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: He did allow Hertz rather ran him out of one additional pressure and I didn't actually check in this game to see if PFF had him for you know how many pressures they had him, but they probably would have either had him for four or five
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: There's really no doubt in my mind that he's a hundred percent responsible for the quarterback hit, but they did have a, there's another play where PFF probably scored him for a pressure, so they could have him had him for five, but hurts ran for a positive gain and kind of build him out on that one.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: that does affect his adjustment, of course.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: Week four against the LA Rams 59 plays, 44 blocks, made eight missed.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: He allowed half a penetration, that's a shared loss on a run place.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's otherwise been pretty good about his run blocks in these games.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: He allowed,
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: Parts of five pressure events, three folds and two halves, totaling a minus eight for that.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: You had a false start penalty, which is a minus two.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: You had 33 points in total, 33 over 59 is 0.56.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't seem right.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: That seems like the wrong.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna redo that right now here, but I think that's actually not right.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's $50.59.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so in-
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's 0.59, yes, it should be 0.59.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: I had adjustment of 0.02 in addition to that forum, which would take it into 0.61.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's still an F by six points at that position.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: So unfortunately, it doesn't get a make closer to really passing here.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: Did not have any level two blocks in the pancakes.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: They used it to pull a lot in this game, six out of seven connections on poles.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: One highlight block.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_00]: One, again, where Hertz ran him out of yet another pressure
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: And then he had three of his eight losses, a Blocksby losses at the line of scrimmage.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: The zero R is holding back his adjustment slightly in this game.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, just to go over that again, an F in game one, an F in game two, a D minus in game three, and an F in game four.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_00]: None of these scores were so far off the table.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't within spitting range of a D minus, but then again, it's still, it's an F for the season so far.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: reasonable context and say, being 0.09, 0.02 and 0.06 short of a D minus in those three games where he didn't get one is not a good thing.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_00]: He did deliver 12 highlights in the four games, those were a mix of good combination blocks and very clean stunt handoffs primarily.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_00]: Just again, talk about how much I appreciate watching him do that.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's very good at it and the Eagles were
- 18:29[SPEAKER_00]: Now, moving on to a front office perspective and why the Ravens made this trade, the first fall of the fillet reaction, if you go to their boards, is genuine alation that they've got a second round pick for 2,028 and they seem to be content to, you know, some of the fans on the board, at least to rebuild the franchise, they think they'll be replacing their quarterback in 2,028 and they think how he is accumulating draft capital.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: uh, to move up for the Eagles next quarterback.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: So, uh, it's interesting point there at, but but two and two right now, I mean, I still think the Eagles have probably a pretty good chance to make the playoffs, but the Eagles fans don't seem to be as excited about this season, as, uh, as Ravens fans are, even with the, with the problems we've got.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if you look back to the Rokuan Smith trade in 2022, the Ravens traded a second and a fifth, neither of those picks was deferred, like the second is this time.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: So there's less value, but it's really got a lot more in picking up Rokuan Smith in terms of an asset that was currently very highly valued.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: So this does seem like a little bit about overpay on the surface of player for picks.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: However, the ravens are doing something else underneath this, they are trading draft capital for favorable contract terms or another way of saying that is they are selling the eagles a draft pick and exchange for cap space.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: All right, it's a very, it's done fairly frequently in trades and the Eagles eat a lot of pereration of his original signing bonus plus his signing bonus that was paid earlier this year.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_00]: The Eagles use a contract structure that effectively, um,
- 20:11[SPEAKER_00]: has a signing bonus for each of several years, and then a minimum salary, and that allows them to void year out all that money.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_00]: They've done that to the ends degree with a huge number of their players, and it's going to create quite a big problem to swallow when they have to finally have that debt come due.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: They are, in effect, recognizing some of that right now.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: So the Ravens are left with a contract that has a very small salary this year so it doesn't really impact their cap, which is a good thing because they're now very low on cap with the injuries they've had They're down to about $3 million, but it has almost no impact on their cap for this year, but they will
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: still be limited in terms of additional players they put on IR will each cost them essentially a vetman salary or a minimum salary think of it that way and that could put them very close to the line date they will probably at some point have to restructure a contractor to this year they do have some options along that including tray Hendricks and might be a possibility which has some fairly significant dollars attached to it.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: So, the ravens do also pick up future signing bonuses and guarantees on this contract and since Jurgen Sauri is guaranteed for 2027, they have a minimum commitment to this contract of approximately $17 million, $1 million and it's $26 and another $16 million in 2027 might be $16.5 million, but that's the ballpark.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_00]: The better, maybe another way to look at this is,
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's it's 30 games they're getting out of him for 17 million by the way because they've lost the first four games of this year But if he plays well for the remainder of the contract It'll be 51 million for almost four full seasons four full seasons less four games 64 games in total That's per Brian McFarland and and he does some great work on this and and I'd encourage you to go Look at his work and look at anything he has to say about the jerk and steel But but he sent me this and I really appreciate Brian for that
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: If he did play 51 million for four years, and for that to happen, he's going to have to turn his career around, frankly, from these first four games of the year, he's going to have to, all of a sudden, become at least the player he was, and that he could do if he were to, then 51 million for four years is going to be extremely cheap.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_00]: for a center for that period and so the Ravens have to believe there is a reasonable chance and I think this is a combination of both the Costa and Ledford because I don't think he'd have made the move without discussing it with Ledford that there's a good chance that he could be rehabilitated and the last player of course they did that with was Marcus Peters.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_00]: They traded a fourth router to the Rams, they also traded
- 23:07[SPEAKER_00]: young, the linebacker in that trade, the ice cream cone dropper, and they got to revive a lot of him.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: They got in fact an all-pro one season that first year from him, and certainly that trade up ended up being worth it.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm going to discuss more of the particulars of this and the reasoning on Friday morning GM.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: So, listen for that tomorrow, but I wanted to put out this grading
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: Initially, it obviously is not exactly what Ravens fans want to hear, I know, but I think it's It's accurate, which means probably if you look at PFF they're fairly accurate too In terms of how they look at his play on an aggregate basis of anything they have some lower Fs and and I probably have some higher Fs, but they also Have him is having a pretty good game in week one where he had a couple holding flags and
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know how I don't really agree with that either.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_00]: So we've got, I think in aggregate we've got a fairly clean view and in terms of the pressures we're seeing I think it's probably going to end up being very similar as well.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think it's a matter of two different grading systems seeing the player differently in this case.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway,
- 24:18[SPEAKER_00]: Six, if not, week five, that it will be him playing center with Yohane moving to right guard and back to his original spot.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for listening.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_00]: If you have questions, use film study mealbag at gmail.com.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's always a good idea for Friday morning GM or any of our other shows.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_00]: But marine monitors, that meal box and she'll be looking that and putting them towards the appropriate show.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: Marine, by the way, work with me this entire time.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: Took us about four, four and a half hours to go through the grading on this and and really can't tell you how much I appreciate what she does for the show.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_00]: It would not be possible to do it without her.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for listening folks, and we'll talk to you next time on film study.
