- 1:45Speaker 2: Yeah scared, say you're scared? Man going to beat?
- 1:54Speaker 5: Oh. Poor Luke has a train on this show. He said, Wow,
- 2:04Speaker 5: this is what all sports radio is like exactly.
- 2:07Speaker 6: And I told him yesterday you're sitting at the desk
- 2:09Speaker 6: next to me. I was like, Luke, I know we're
- 2:11Speaker 6: pretty buttoned up in the morning. Not every show is
- 2:13Speaker 6: as organized and as serious as we are.
- 2:15Speaker 4: I don't worry, that's right.
- 2:18Speaker 2: We're all about having fun and hope, you know, hoping
- 2:22Speaker 2: you have fun on the way to work or school,
- 2:24Speaker 2: because like really wants to go to work school.
- 2:28Speaker 4: You know, let's be honest, mornings aren't the best. You know,
- 2:30Speaker 4: you're still waking up. You got a little little sleep
- 2:32Speaker 4: in your eyes, still still waking up, drinking that coffee,
- 2:36Speaker 4: hoping to get you right.
- 2:38Speaker 2: You want to smile, It'll put a smile on your face,
- 2:42Speaker 2: a song in your heart. Yeah, you don't want a
- 2:43Speaker 2: bunch of stats. Thone at you? Analytics?
- 2:48Speaker 4: Well I can't.
- 2:48Speaker 2: We're just time and place. I got all that, you know.
- 2:50Speaker 4: I am so fired up to start breaking down film again.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I already gave you homework. You're gonna break down Peyton Houston. Yep,
- 3:05Speaker 2: we're gonna fund that film. You think the YouTube? Sure,
- 3:10Speaker 2: I can find highlight films which I don't want to watch.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I bet you can find full games. Hey, say this
- 3:18Speaker 2: is your realm, high school football? Where can you find
- 3:22Speaker 2: archived high school football?
- 3:24Speaker 3: Games like full games.
- 3:25Speaker 6: Yeah, YouTube you probably maybe maybe you probably got to
- 3:29Speaker 6: do a max preps account more than likely.
- 3:33Speaker 2: What's the website they use for huddle huddle? He could
- 3:37Speaker 2: do that. I bet it's on there.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Yeah, But then I gotta go mm hmm.
- 3:46Speaker 2: I gotta watch high school football.
- 3:47Speaker 4: Film break it down.
- 3:51Speaker 2: It's part of the job.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Who are you?
- 3:53Speaker 3: Who are you looking for?
- 3:55Speaker 2: He wants watch Peyton Houston?
- 3:57Speaker 6: Can I can actually send you a game? Remind me
- 3:59Speaker 6: after the show?
- 4:00Speaker 4: What part of his game do you want me to
- 4:02Speaker 4: break down? The part where he throws for like probably
- 4:04Speaker 4: nine hundred yards? Just no, why are you being mechanically footwork?
- 4:10Speaker 3: Just as a game is a good airline?
- 4:12Speaker 6: Last year fifty one nine, it's probably a good one,
- 4:15Speaker 6: tight game, high.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Scoring, defensive battle, totally defense buckled up their chin straps
- 4:21Speaker 4: that game.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah, they said we're gritty over pretty here. We only
- 4:26Speaker 2: gave up forty nine. See all this good tries coach
- 4:33Speaker 2: a lot of effort in those plays.
- 4:42Speaker 4: News definitely, as as Peyton Newston got any in IL deals,
- 4:48Speaker 4: I'm sure if that made the news.
- 4:51Speaker 2: In IL, I'm sure high school players in Louisiana can
- 4:55Speaker 2: get an IL deal. So yeah, I know, I'm just curious.
- 4:58Speaker 4: I know it was like kind of a it was
- 4:59Speaker 4: a big storyline year whatever ago when when Elijah got
- 5:03Speaker 4: one with like the car dealership or something. I don't
- 5:07Speaker 4: think i've ever heard, like maybe it's just like the
- 5:09Speaker 4: first one. That's why I was news.
- 5:10Speaker 2: But I think Lamar Brown had in IL deals. I'm
- 5:12Speaker 2: pretty sure, So yeah, I would have. Actually, I think
- 5:17Speaker 2: I've seen Peyton Houston in IL situations before, So yes.
- 5:21Speaker 4: I'm sure Dric's my I can't prove that he doesn't.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Can't prove that he doesn't. So Taylor during the break
- 5:29Speaker 2: was talking about all the money that receivers are getting
- 5:32Speaker 2: in the NFL, and he was talking about Drake London.
- 5:34Speaker 2: He gets four for one forty one from the Atlanta Falcons.
- 5:39Speaker 2: I don't really care about the Drake London situation, not
- 5:41Speaker 2: on this show at least. I'll talk about it later.
- 5:43Speaker 2: But on this show, why are we bringing it up?
- 5:47Speaker 2: We're bringing it up because you've got a receiver named
- 5:48Speaker 2: Chris Alave who is up for a payday.
- 5:54Speaker 4: It was Drake, tell me the four for one, four
- 5:58Speaker 4: for one, Okay, four.
- 6:00Speaker 2: For one for one. So and Alec Pierce got over
- 6:06Speaker 2: one hundred million this offseason. That's that's what Chris A
- 6:10Speaker 2: Lave is going to need, over one hundred million dollars.
- 6:13Speaker 2: That's just the way it is. That's the way it's
- 6:15Speaker 2: going to be, and the Saints have to make that decision.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Chris Olave last year, with two different quarterbacks playing right,
- 6:22Speaker 2: some inconsistency and not really having somebody not having a
- 6:26Speaker 2: robin to him being batman, he was eighth in the
- 6:29Speaker 2: NFL receiving yards. And I loved what I saw from
- 6:33Speaker 2: Chris Alave down the stretch when there wasn't air quotes,
- 6:36Speaker 2: anything to play for. He's out there busting it. He's
- 6:42Speaker 2: gonna be up for one of these deals.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Do you think he's a saty to do the four
- 6:46Speaker 4: year if you want to get him over one hundred
- 6:47Speaker 4: obviously you would certainly like that to be four years.
- 6:56Speaker 2: And he only played in sixteen games, he missed a game.
- 6:58Speaker 4: I'd like to see it like four years, one, one, twenty.
- 7:04Speaker 2: So guys, guys that Chris Olave had more receiving yards
- 7:08Speaker 2: than last year. Nicocollins and some of these guys in
- 7:12Speaker 2: play seventeen games but name their lave. So I'm just
- 7:15Speaker 2: giving you the names Nicocollins, Justin Jefferson, Tedor Rod McMillan,
- 7:22Speaker 2: DeVante Smith, c D Lamb A J. Brown. He like
- 7:27Speaker 2: Alec Pierce who we just talked about, Mecca A. Buca,
- 7:33Speaker 2: Jayleen Waddle may keep going T Higgins and keep going
- 7:37Speaker 2: down the list, Davante Adams, Lab McConkie. He played statistically
- 7:44Speaker 2: right better. That's I'm just saying, like, you have more
- 7:47Speaker 2: receiving yards. So we're talking and he had nine touchdowns too,
- 7:52Speaker 2: and we're talking about somebody that didn't have consistency play
- 7:56Speaker 2: with two different quarterbacks, the eleven personnel that they rolled
- 7:59Speaker 2: out there the last five weeks of the season. Chris
- 8:04Speaker 2: Love is going to demand And I'm not saying like
- 8:06Speaker 2: he's gonna walk in there give me a hundred million. No,
- 8:08Speaker 2: his play is going to demand one hundred million dollars, right.
- 8:11Speaker 4: I mean you think about it like I wasn't. When
- 8:14Speaker 4: we were talking about it towards the end of the season.
- 8:16Speaker 4: I was like, man, I just don't I feel like
- 8:20Speaker 4: thirty is you get it's like your cap form, right,
- 8:24Speaker 4: And if you could do that, you could spread out
- 8:25Speaker 4: of four years, four years, one hundred and twenty million
- 8:27Speaker 4: thirty million a year and then you got to work
- 8:30Speaker 4: out the guarantees and things like that. But I think
- 8:32Speaker 4: that would be certainly a deserving contract and a deserving number.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Wild numbers to think about, but that's the market, right,
- 8:41Speaker 4: that is the market for him. Now, that like, what's
- 8:44Speaker 4: the top receiver making? What's what's who could just signed one?
- 8:48Speaker 2: Right? What should be?
- 8:48Speaker 4: JSN JSN, that's like forty is.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I'm about to go forty four? Well, in this offseason
- 9:02Speaker 2: while Tosay's looking that number up, Pierre signed four years,
- 9:06Speaker 2: one hundred and fourteen million, Wandel Robinson signed four years
- 9:10Speaker 2: seventy million, Romeo Dobbs signed four years sixty eight million,
- 9:15Speaker 2: Rashid Shihed signed three years fifty one million.
- 9:17Speaker 6: That was this offseason, Jackson Smith four year, one hundred
- 9:21Speaker 6: and sixty eight It's about forty two million a year.
- 9:25Speaker 4: So thirty million a year for Chris Olave is reasonable,
- 9:31Speaker 4: and I think it's a reasonable ask for him. He
- 9:35Speaker 4: certainly had the stats. He's been well, he's played when
- 9:39Speaker 4: things weren't going perfectly, and he's done really well. He's
- 9:43Speaker 4: got the stats of a number one receiver. The question
- 9:48Speaker 4: always comes down to not only are as you were
- 9:51Speaker 4: kind of given the list of people he played better than,
- 9:53Speaker 4: and statistically absolutely without a doubt, objectively speaking, better than
- 9:58Speaker 4: those than those players. But what the guys that get
- 10:03Speaker 4: the forty two forty? Like, what impact do you have
- 10:06Speaker 4: on the rest of the team as far as when
- 10:10Speaker 4: a defense has to plan around you, stop that guy
- 10:13Speaker 4: first and then we worry about everything else.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I don't know if a Lave is that guy or not.
- 10:20Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 10:20Speaker 4: I'd like to see the stats on how many times
- 10:22Speaker 4: did he get a double team? How many times did
- 10:24Speaker 4: he get a cloud rolled to his side?
- 10:26Speaker 2: Like are they you know? What does I was right
- 10:30Speaker 2: there with you, Yeah, until he went out there last
- 10:33Speaker 2: year after they traded Shaheed and it was him and
- 10:37Speaker 2: Uber drivers I like, and he was still producing. That
- 10:42Speaker 2: to me was the thing I needed to see because
- 10:45Speaker 2: I agreed with you before he was out there with
- 10:48Speaker 2: Mason Tipton and Kevin.
- 10:50Speaker 4: I'm not necessarily agreeing with what I'm saying. I'd like
- 10:53Speaker 4: to see the stats on what impact did he have
- 10:58Speaker 4: on the rest because like jays In, like people are
- 11:01Speaker 4: rolling to his side, like the great and the number
- 11:03Speaker 4: ones you think of as number one receivers topping u
- 11:07Speaker 4: NFL receivers, they received double teams, they received special treatment
- 11:11Speaker 4: from the defense. Does Chrystal Lave warrant special treatment from
- 11:16Speaker 4: the defense, because if he does, it makes everybody else better,
- 11:20Speaker 4: the rest of the ten guys better. Yes, the rest
- 11:22Speaker 4: of the receivers better, right, that's my question. And he might,
- 11:27Speaker 4: he might. I don't know.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I don't know the stats on that.
- 11:29Speaker 4: I don't.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I mean, I think I didn't notice it. I think
- 11:33Speaker 2: he does. And I wasn't sure. I was right there
- 11:36Speaker 2: with you because I felt like, man, he might be
- 11:38Speaker 2: the best one B in the NFL. So we can't
- 11:40Speaker 2: get like the stats are there like I got.
- 11:43Speaker 4: Yet they absolutely are, and he played great and I
- 11:45Speaker 4: think he's a great teammate. And I'm just asking the question,
- 11:48Speaker 4: like does he does Christal Lave get special treatment from
- 11:52Speaker 4: defensive coordinators? It's a big question to ask. And if
- 11:54Speaker 4: you do, then yeah, you get forty thirty five plus.
- 11:58Speaker 4: If you don't, but you're still top guy. Yeah, I
- 12:00Speaker 4: think you land in at thirty to thirty five.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Rane Saints fans, let us know what you think. Two
- 12:06Speaker 2: two five four nine one oh four five, I get
- 12:09Speaker 2: that right, Flick at me. Not a big deal. Let
- 12:14Speaker 2: us know in the chat. Let us know what you think.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Is Kris Olive worth a four year, one hundred and
- 12:20Speaker 2: ten million dollar contract?
- 12:23Speaker 4: Four year, one hundred and ten Yeah, absolutely, that'd be
- 12:26Speaker 4: under thirty. I think he's I think he's a dirty
- 12:30Speaker 4: at four year, one hundred and twenty million, all.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Right, that put me on thirty million a year hereing
- 12:33Speaker 2: ago four for one twenty four for one twenty Is
- 12:36Speaker 2: he worth four years, one hundred and twenty million dollars?
- 12:39Speaker 2: Let us know two to five, four nine, one oh
- 12:42Speaker 2: four five text us hit us up on the chat.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Let us know what you think about Chris Olive. We'll
- 12:47Speaker 2: have some of those answers on the other side before
- 12:49Speaker 2: we take this break. Want to remind you of our
- 12:50Speaker 2: friends over at Rouse's but to Rouses Market Rouses dot Com.
- 12:56Speaker 2: We talked all rotisserie chicken yesterday. I like to eat
- 12:59Speaker 2: like a key too, Matt. I went and picked one up,
- 13:04Speaker 2: picked up some other things too, because you know why,
- 13:06Speaker 2: it was already ready for me, the meals, the sides,
- 13:09Speaker 2: already prepackaged, ready to go. They've got local my high
- 13:15Speaker 2: other local flavors. Actually, they got kind of a lot
- 13:17Speaker 2: of local in Rouses if you want to eat just
- 13:20Speaker 2: like crawlfished potatoes and corn for lunch. They got individual
- 13:23Speaker 2: bags of that as well. They got something for everybody.
- 13:26Speaker 2: They have weekly specials. Check out your local Rouses by
- 13:29Speaker 2: going to Rouses dot com, putting your address and finding
- 13:32Speaker 2: that location Rousesandrouses dot com. All right, we'll continue talking
- 13:36Speaker 2: Chris Alave when we come back here on OTB off
- 13:40Speaker 2: the bench, all right, go to gcop net dot com,
- 13:45Speaker 2: gc op net dot com. Office Products, Yeah, Solute leader
- 13:49Speaker 2: in office solutions right here in Louisiana. Four locations in Louisiana, Baton, Rouge, Mandeville,
- 13:56Speaker 2: north Shore, New Orleans, and in laugh. Yeah. So they
- 14:00Speaker 2: got you covered throughout the state of Louisiana. And we
- 14:03Speaker 2: always tell you the thing is sets them apart because
- 14:05Speaker 2: they are like a massive company, right, They've got all
- 14:07Speaker 2: the latest and the greatest when it comes to office technology.
- 14:10Speaker 2: But the thing that sets them apart from everyone else
- 14:13Speaker 2: that has the kind of size and scale that they
- 14:15Speaker 2: have is the customer service that you get. The person
- 14:18Speaker 2: you call is the person that's going to help you out,
- 14:20Speaker 2: the person that's going to make sure that you are
- 14:23Speaker 2: treated the right way and everything is taken care of.
- 14:26Speaker 2: That sets them apart. Gcop net dot Com.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Yeah, like it's a big business, but when you work
- 14:30Speaker 4: with them, it feels like a small business because they
- 14:32Speaker 4: treat you like you're their only customer. Gulf Coast office products,
- 14:36Speaker 4: whether it's one person or one thousand person office, they
- 14:39Speaker 4: will keep you up and running and give you the
- 14:40Speaker 4: best tech and the best service that you can imagine.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Gcop net dot Com.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Shone blocked in on LSU Football twenty four to seven.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Thing to off the bench.
- 15:11Speaker 7: Again if we don't know, all.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Right, welcome back here off the bench.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Uh.
- 15:29Speaker 4: We just got done talking a little bit about Chris
- 15:31Speaker 4: o'lavae and like the the kind of contract situation, the conundrum,
- 15:36Speaker 4: like Chris Lava is trying to put value on him.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Of course we're just kind of speculating a little bit.
- 15:42Speaker 4: But this comes on the heels of Drake London getting
- 15:47Speaker 4: a new contract four years, one hundred and forty one
- 15:50Speaker 4: million dollars. That's that's just over thirty five million per year.
- 15:54Speaker 4: So trying to like kind of pigeonhole chrisal Lava into
- 15:58Speaker 4: a number right now, what we kind of think think
- 16:00Speaker 4: of I don't know if we were able to get
- 16:01Speaker 4: a poll up or not. We're kind of came to
- 16:05Speaker 4: the over under. Would Saints fans be okay at four years,
- 16:08Speaker 4: one hundred and twenty million dollars, which is getting him
- 16:12Speaker 4: to that hundred plus range, but keeping him at around
- 16:15Speaker 4: thirty million a year, and now that would be third,
- 16:19Speaker 4: you know, five point two five million dollars less per
- 16:23Speaker 4: year than Drake London. Now, Taylor, you kind of sent
- 16:28Speaker 4: me a couple of links here that we're talking about
- 16:30Speaker 4: kind of comparing the two, and then like the comparison
- 16:33Speaker 4: from a stats persepective is pretty intriguing because Chris Olave
- 16:41Speaker 4: has actually had three years or a thousand yards receiving.
- 16:45Speaker 4: How many times has Drake London done it? Jake, you
- 16:49Speaker 4: know the answer to that.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Drake London thousand yards. If Lave's had throw at the
- 16:54Speaker 2: same age, Drake only played what twelve games last year
- 17:00Speaker 2: or once.
- 17:02Speaker 4: That at one time into twenty twenty four, So arguments
- 17:08Speaker 4: can be made that statistically, and that's exactly what Chris
- 17:10Speaker 4: Lave and his agent are gonna be doing. They can
- 17:12Speaker 4: statu you to death right statue statue statute because he's
- 17:16Speaker 4: got him, He's got number one receiver stats and he
- 17:19Speaker 4: has earned the right to be a number one receiver.
- 17:22Speaker 4: How far? What does that mean from a contract perspective?
- 17:25Speaker 4: What does that mean in dollars and cents? I don't know.
- 17:28Speaker 4: I think it still comes to do you impact the
- 17:32Speaker 4: defensive coordinator's game plan and how much do you impact
- 17:36Speaker 4: that game plan? So we'll see, we'll see what it
- 17:38Speaker 4: ends up being. I think thirty million dollars at this point,
- 17:41Speaker 4: after all these other contracts have been signed, would actually
- 17:44Speaker 4: be a pretty good discount.
- 17:47Speaker 2: We always talk about is he a guy that is
- 17:50Speaker 2: a Monday meeting starter? What do we mean by that
- 17:54Speaker 2: when you all get back into the building on Monday.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Is he the guy that the defensive coordinator starts the
- 18:00Speaker 2: meeting talking about? Because to your point, that's the guys
- 18:05Speaker 2: they get paid, that's the guys. That's the guys that
- 18:10Speaker 2: get the top three at their position, top five at
- 18:13Speaker 2: their position contracts.
- 18:15Speaker 4: That's the J S N S.
- 18:17Speaker 2: That's the Jamar Chase justin Jefferson.
- 18:21Speaker 4: Yeah, that's those lam exactly, and statistically it was better
- 18:27Speaker 4: than cde Lamb, right, But he see the impacts a
- 18:31Speaker 4: defensive game plan, so that whether that's right, wrong, or different,
- 18:33Speaker 4: from a contract standpoint or how we want to view receivers.
- 18:37Speaker 4: It is what it is, what it is, like they
- 18:39Speaker 4: impact game plans.
- 18:44Speaker 2: He's going to get it from somewhere he deserves to
- 18:49Speaker 2: get it. Is it going to be from the New Orleans?
- 18:51Speaker 4: The question all we're trying to do right now is
- 18:55Speaker 4: try to pose different questions without knowing an answer. Pose
- 19:03Speaker 4: different questions what could be going through the mind of
- 19:06Speaker 4: his on his his camp and then the Saints organization,
- 19:10Speaker 4: like what do they think if those are going to
- 19:12Speaker 4: be the I don't even want to say an argument point,
- 19:14Speaker 4: those are going to be the counterpoints, the negotiation points.
- 19:20Speaker 4: But if you had it like mark down that he's
- 19:22Speaker 4: not going to get thirty plus, you're you're you're gonna
- 19:25Speaker 4: be wrong.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, But when you want it or not, Matt,
- 19:27Speaker 3: he's getting that money.
- 19:28Speaker 4: He's getting that money.
- 19:29Speaker 6: Like I always like, pay the guy too early. The
- 19:32Speaker 6: more you wait, the more you're gonna pay. If you'd
- 19:34Speaker 6: pay him right after the season before Alec Pierce gets
- 19:36Speaker 6: to that hundred million, you're not in this predicament, no doubt,
- 19:38Speaker 6: because his agent's going to argue and should argue, we've
- 19:42Speaker 6: been the same. If not a little bit more consistent
- 19:44Speaker 6: than Drake London. He got one hundred and forty one,
- 19:46Speaker 6: we want one hundred and forty five.
- 19:47Speaker 4: Like this is if you want to you want to
- 19:50Speaker 4: say the Saints micking in the in company, done a
- 19:54Speaker 4: really good job this offseason. If you want to point
- 19:57Speaker 4: at one thing they didn't play, right, is this They
- 20:00Speaker 4: should have signed him in the winter. Now it's even
- 20:03Speaker 4: more Drake London. Chris Lave, you got better career stats
- 20:08Speaker 4: than Drake London and he just signed for just over
- 20:12Speaker 4: thirty five million per year. So you've lost. You've lost
- 20:17Speaker 4: in the bat like exactly, like the longer you wait,
- 20:20Speaker 4: the more you pay. You should have signed him earlier.
- 20:25Speaker 4: You might have got him for twenty eight, twenty nine,
- 20:31Speaker 4: not anymore.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Today's price is not yesterday's today.
- 20:35Speaker 4: Oh oh that was actually in February.
- 20:37Speaker 2: You could have done that. Yeah.
- 20:39Speaker 4: Funny thing is.
- 20:43Speaker 2: And the thing that could happen for the Saints is
- 20:46Speaker 2: if you go out there and Jordan Tyson's really good
- 20:50Speaker 2: and then you're like, oh, okay, well maybe we don't
- 20:53Speaker 2: Maybe we don't need to spend that money on Chris Alave.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Maybe we spend it on a number two receiver because
- 20:58Speaker 2: we drafted a receiver top and like, that's how GM's
- 21:02Speaker 2: minds work. They're always trying to make sure that they
- 21:04Speaker 2: get the best value out of every possible thing that
- 21:07Speaker 2: they can. And again, Chris Lave is going to get
- 21:09Speaker 2: it from some one. It might not be the New
- 21:11Speaker 2: Orleans Saints. Now. I know some people in chat are like,
- 21:15Speaker 2: or you don't draft a receiver top ten, if he's
- 21:17Speaker 2: a true number one, you pay him that money. I
- 21:19Speaker 2: would disagree with that. I push back on that a
- 21:21Speaker 2: little bit because you needed another receiver, like it couldn't
- 21:26Speaker 2: just be Chris Olive, And I understand what you're saying,
- 21:32Speaker 2: but I don't put him in that same category of
- 21:35Speaker 2: a jamar Ches, a CD Lamb, a Puka Nakua. I
- 21:37Speaker 2: don't put him in that category. He's in that next tier.
- 21:40Speaker 2: So that's why you go draft a receiver. But when
- 21:43Speaker 2: people like Alec Pierce and Drake London who haven't done
- 21:46Speaker 2: as much as Chris the Lava are getting paid, it
- 21:48Speaker 2: just is what it is. He's going to get it.
- 21:51Speaker 2: So I understand what you're saying. And the Saints went
- 21:53Speaker 2: out there and drafted a top ten receiver. That's just
- 21:57Speaker 2: kind of the math of what receivers.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Is getting right, took like thirty two number one receivers
- 22:04Speaker 4: on each team and you put them on a tier list.
- 22:08Speaker 4: We should do that, We should do that. Okay, So
- 22:10Speaker 4: let's take the number one receiver from every team in
- 22:13Speaker 4: the NFL and let's put them in tier one, two, three,
- 22:18Speaker 4: and four.
- 22:21Speaker 2: That'll be fun. This is gonna be fun. Uh, that's
- 22:25Speaker 2: probably it's probably a tomorrow thing. Tomorrow thing.
- 22:28Speaker 4: And so are we gonna put let's see, we'll.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Take one receiver from Are we doing that? We're doing
- 22:35Speaker 2: like one receiver from everything from each team? Yeah, because
- 22:38Speaker 2: there's some teams that could have two in there. The
- 22:41Speaker 2: Cowboys first one does singles.
- 22:44Speaker 4: You only get one though I only get one, and
- 22:48Speaker 4: so well, you got to figure out how many tiers
- 22:50Speaker 4: we want to do. Do we wanna do four and put
- 22:51Speaker 4: eight in each one? Might be a little argument in
- 22:56Speaker 4: up there. We'll come up with it.
- 22:59Speaker 2: We'll figure it out. We don't have to tell them
- 23:01Speaker 2: how the sausage is make it's true, let's do it.
- 23:09Speaker 4: How fun is that. I'm sitting here thinking where is
- 23:13Speaker 4: the LOAMMI gonna end up?
- 23:14Speaker 2: It's the question. One receiver should we do thirty two
- 23:17Speaker 2: one from each team? Yeah, okay, because that'd be the
- 23:21Speaker 2: number one receiver on that team.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Okay, fair enough. Some teams at where does chryslave want to.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Some teams it's gonna be hard to find the true
- 23:29Speaker 2: number one receiver.
- 23:30Speaker 4: But because they got two good ones or they got
- 23:32Speaker 4: no ones both, there's gonna be some toughs.
- 23:34Speaker 2: There's gonna be some toughies. All right, We'll take a break.

- 26:12Speaker 2: long time ago. I was a freshman in college in
- 26:15Speaker 2: two thousand and.
- 26:15Speaker 4: Four, just a hair over twenty four.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Cuche KTZ blinds dot com is the website kt o
- 26:24Speaker 2: z blinds dot com.
- 26:27Speaker 1: That is say.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Mm hm hmmm, a lot of chat, a lot of
- 26:34Speaker 4: chatter in the chats. That's what a chat's for, saying.
- 26:42Speaker 4: No one's ever won wontra you like that one.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Huh, God, he's an idiot. We love you, but you're
- 26:53Speaker 2: an idiot.
- 26:57Speaker 4: So, no one's ever paid a massive contract to wide receiver.
- 27:01Speaker 4: I don't know where you're going with the semement. I
- 27:02Speaker 4: just was bringing up they were talking about it there.
- 27:04Speaker 4: But no one's ever paid a massive contract to receiver
- 27:11Speaker 4: and still won.
- 27:13Speaker 6: I don't necessarily disagree with that. Like there's exceptions to
- 27:16Speaker 6: that rule.
- 27:17Speaker 4: First of all, we're not talking about massive contract right,
- 27:20Speaker 4: it's actually kind of low for.
- 27:23Speaker 6: Oh yeah, for a lot of yeah, and they're not
- 27:24Speaker 6: a massive content. But as far as like kind of
- 27:28Speaker 6: onto something there, Like you could look historically the team,
- 27:31Speaker 6: Like look at the teams that have won the Super
- 27:32Speaker 6: Bowl the past couple of years, their wide receiver one
- 27:36Speaker 6: hasn't been like a top five paid guy at the position.
- 27:39Speaker 6: Even JSN last year. We're still in a rookie deal.
- 27:42Speaker 6: He's high paid now. Yeah, but they got him, they
- 27:45Speaker 6: won while he wasn't. I mean, the Chiefs moved on
- 27:48Speaker 6: from Tyreek.
- 27:48Speaker 4: Because he wanted all that. I don't have any counter
- 27:50Speaker 4: arguments to it, No, I mean, I got to think
- 27:52Speaker 4: about it. I'm sure, I'm sure there's an exception out
- 27:55Speaker 4: there somewhere. But we're talking like the not too long
- 28:00Speaker 4: long ago the numbers were talking about were the top
- 28:03Speaker 4: quarterback numbers not too long ago? What was Drew Brees's
- 28:07Speaker 4: last contract?
- 28:09Speaker 6: Somebody posted I think they said five years, hundred mil.
- 28:12Speaker 6: And I think he was the highest paid quarterback.
- 28:15Speaker 4: That was less than a decade ago, right, yes, not
- 28:19Speaker 4: sure it was twenty twenty.
- 28:20Speaker 2: See. And also something that throws off the math here
- 28:24Speaker 2: is the Patriots did it for so long and never
- 28:26Speaker 2: paid anybody. They just didn't. They had the Patriot away.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Even their quarterback Tom Brady, like he didn't take what
- 28:33Speaker 2: he could because he wanted to spread it out like
- 28:36Speaker 2: he would. He was making like fourteen million dollars a
- 28:38Speaker 2: year when guys were making thirty. It's like the Patriots
- 28:42Speaker 2: like they didn't pay They never paid west Walker really right,
- 28:46Speaker 2: they never paid a Mondola. They never like even Randy Moss. Remember,
- 28:50Speaker 2: like a lot of people thought Randy was done.
- 28:52Speaker 4: When they went with them. Either that is true. That
- 28:54Speaker 4: does skew the numbers because they won so much it
- 28:57Speaker 4: didn't allow other people that were doing it to win.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Recently, dude, the Eagles are the outlier with AJ Brown.
- 29:04Speaker 6: I mean Tyreek Hill wanted a big deal, the Chiefs
- 29:07Speaker 6: traded him, won a Super Bowl without him. Both teams
- 29:09Speaker 6: in the Super Bowl last year didn't have a high
- 29:12Speaker 6: paid guy. I mean maybe Digs, but he wasn't a
- 29:14Speaker 6: top five guy at that point.
- 29:17Speaker 2: And even if the Rams would have gotten Inn, Puka
- 29:19Speaker 2: wasn't on.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Who could just got his deal?
- 29:21Speaker 2: Who could just got his deal?
- 29:24Speaker 6: And when they won with Cooper Cup he got the
- 29:26Speaker 6: deal of the year out.
- 29:27Speaker 4: I will go I'll go on record and go ahead
- 29:29Speaker 4: and say that the Rams will probably buck this trend
- 29:32Speaker 4: this year.
- 29:34Speaker 2: He'll probably win.
- 29:38Speaker 6: When the Bengals made it, Jamal was on his rookie deal.
- 29:41Speaker 4: The same argument was also made with quarterbacks for a while.
- 29:46Speaker 4: That trend has been mm hmm thrown away. But it
- 29:51Speaker 4: was a trend for a while. But it is wild
- 29:53Speaker 4: to think that these receivers are now getting what was
- 29:57Speaker 4: recently really really good, high top quarterback dollar.
- 30:03Speaker 6: I just hear a lot of people say, well, you
- 30:04Speaker 6: can't pay a running back, and whether you think that's
- 30:07Speaker 6: true or not, nobody says that about receiver. And I
- 30:10Speaker 6: just think there's a lot of evidence to kind of
- 30:12Speaker 6: point to that.
- 30:12Speaker 4: Yeah, So whoever said that in the chat, you know,
- 30:17Speaker 4: onto something. I definitely think that about corners.
- 30:23Speaker 2: You've said that about corners for a long time, trying
- 30:31Speaker 2: to think of I mean, it's it does feel like
- 30:35Speaker 2: a stat that we could pull up from multiple positions,
- 30:39Speaker 2: running backs, tight ends, corners, if it's a quarterback. It
- 30:43Speaker 2: all comes down to the quarterback and left tackle and
- 30:46Speaker 2: had rushers, Like those are the three. That's like, Okay,
- 30:49Speaker 2: everybody's gonna pay those guys, and whoever wins, that guy's
- 30:51Speaker 2: gonna get paid on that team. No matter who you're
- 30:54Speaker 2: talking about. Every super Bowl champion, like you could go
- 30:57Speaker 2: to those three positions.
- 30:58Speaker 4: It's just whoever on your team is a differference maker.
- 31:00Speaker 4: And like I continue to say, I was talking about
- 31:03Speaker 4: it with the lave oh last two segments, like when
- 31:07Speaker 4: you change what the other team is trying to do,
- 31:11Speaker 4: when you change their game plan, when you throw a
- 31:13Speaker 4: wrench in what they normally like to do, you're that dude,
- 31:17Speaker 4: Like you look around Phukoakua does that, Yeah, he changed,
- 31:22Speaker 4: Like he's an absolute game disruptor.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I might, I don't know, because Jamars and Pooka might
- 31:32Speaker 2: be the best overall receiver in the NFL he is
- 31:35Speaker 2: because he's a maller in the right. He's the best receiver.
- 31:38Speaker 6: Yeah, he plays receiver like a linebacker. That sounds weird
- 31:41Speaker 6: to say, but like he kind of does.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Puka Puka is the best receiver in the game right now.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Now. It's like, yeah, you can. It's a conversation. It's
- 31:52Speaker 2: a conversation. I'm not too far away from where you're
- 31:54Speaker 2: at because you watch him. You watch him in the
- 31:57Speaker 2: run game on the edge, and he'll motion in and
- 32:02Speaker 2: cut off the backside of his zone.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Like what and you don't think that helps him, like
- 32:08Speaker 4: in what he does in his route running. It's just
- 32:11Speaker 4: like a good offense. Having a good running game helps
- 32:14Speaker 4: a pass the game. Like if he comes out in
- 32:16Speaker 4: the box, you don't know if he's blocking or not.
- 32:20Speaker 4: That helps him in his route running. That helps him
- 32:22Speaker 4: be able to get easy completions too, just like tight
- 32:25Speaker 4: ends on naked bootlegs. They block down, then they go
- 32:28Speaker 4: out and they get they they're always opening the flat
- 32:31Speaker 4: every time. But if he he's the type of guy
- 32:34Speaker 4: that could do that. But I mean, if you're if
- 32:39Speaker 4: you're saying a little pick one Pooka and Coo or
- 32:41Speaker 4: Jamar Chase, like, that's obviously really hard.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I think those are the two.
- 32:45Speaker 4: It kind of depends on who your offensive coordinator is,
- 32:47Speaker 4: what type of offense you run.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Those are the two. I would love for Jets to
- 32:53Speaker 2: have a capable quarterback to be back in that conversation,
- 32:56Speaker 2: But until he does.
- 32:57Speaker 4: It's yeah, and he should be in the conversation. He should,
- 33:00Speaker 4: but he's got And then jc JSN.
- 33:04Speaker 2: J s n A is a receiver, like just a
- 33:07Speaker 2: receiver portion of it for sure. Like I could give
- 33:11Speaker 2: you some games and I'm trying to see if I
- 33:13Speaker 2: can pull up my my notes here. I could give
- 33:18Speaker 2: you some games in the run game to go watch Pooka.
- 33:21Speaker 2: That would be highly impressive. Like, go watch what this
- 33:25Speaker 2: guy does when he's not getting the football. And Jamar
- 33:28Speaker 2: is pretty good at it too, but I think Pooka
- 33:31Speaker 2: might be the best. Or I don't like j s N.
- 33:37Speaker 2: I like great receiver. God, he's so good. But like
- 33:41Speaker 2: we're talking about like those type of things and the
- 33:43Speaker 2: totality of what they have, it's a little bit different.
- 33:46Speaker 4: A little bit of a spoiler for tomorrow.
- 33:48Speaker 2: What tier is Puka going to be in?
- 33:52Speaker 4: At least be at least.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Maybe place guards. We'll see you know what, I do
- 33:59Speaker 2: have a that's going to be I think a great
- 34:02Speaker 2: debate on this conversation tomorrow of which tier to put
- 34:06Speaker 2: him in, because there's gonna be some people that are
- 34:08Speaker 2: listening to this show that are like, hey, who are
- 34:10Speaker 2: you talking about? And that's gonna be Michael Wilson from
- 34:14Speaker 2: the Cardinals. He had a good year, had a good
- 34:17Speaker 2: year last year. He was really good and he had
- 34:21Speaker 2: Jakobe Brissette his quarterback.
- 34:24Speaker 4: May or maybe text year. Was it yesterday?
- 34:26Speaker 2: I texted you, yeah, I think so about a card
- 34:29Speaker 2: you had or something.
- 34:30Speaker 4: He's Michael Wilson. Yeah, Hey is this I was like,
- 34:33Speaker 4: should I sell it right now? Is he gonna be good?
- 34:35Speaker 4: I was like, wait, never mind, I'll answer that question.
- 34:37Speaker 4: He's on the Cardinals, So no, you're not pretty good.
- 34:40Speaker 4: I should see the really good player.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Man. But guys like that are guys you don't really
- 34:44Speaker 2: think about in this conversation.
- 34:45Speaker 4: But look, I was thinking about this. I don't know
- 34:50Speaker 4: why I thought about it yesterday, but maybe coming on
- 34:53Speaker 4: the heels of us talking about poor Cardinals after Miles
- 34:58Speaker 4: Garrett decides to go to the Rams, it was poor
- 35:00Speaker 4: Cardinals before that but even more so now every every
- 35:02Speaker 4: news that happens, every time with the other one of
- 35:04Speaker 4: the other teams gets better, which it's a it's an
- 35:06Speaker 4: arms race for those three, the other three besides the Cardinals.
- 35:14Speaker 4: How dumb does there Jeremiah Love pick just feel right now,
- 35:18Speaker 4: like even even weeks afterwards, I'm like, it feels even
- 35:22Speaker 4: dumber now.
- 35:23Speaker 2: It's gonna be great.
- 35:23Speaker 3: In three years, two years. It's just I don't.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Who would you who would you have rather them selected?
- 35:29Speaker 2: That's not a rhetorical question. Running backs a luxury pick.
- 35:33Speaker 2: It's a pick that it's pretty It is a pick
- 35:35Speaker 2: that you need.
- 35:35Speaker 4: To take to make you to get your team to
- 35:38Speaker 4: that final level.
- 35:40Speaker 2: He's he's much more than just a running back, though,
- 35:43Speaker 2: I got it, but you like, there was multiple people
- 35:47Speaker 2: that I talked about this said, if he was a
- 35:49Speaker 2: receiver in this draft, you'd have been the top rated receiver.
- 35:52Speaker 6: I'm not concerned with him, is it he becomes Bejon?
- 35:55Speaker 6: Not production great? But like for that, the Falcons I
- 35:59Speaker 6: just feel like have never built around Bijeon.
- 36:01Speaker 3: They've tried, they just haven't known it.
- 36:06Speaker 4: John also doesn't play in that divisions. He plays in
- 36:10Speaker 4: like the opposite of that division. John's awesome, that's great,
- 36:18Speaker 4: But what are you trying to be as an organization?
- 36:22Speaker 4: That's that's my question. You're gonna take him third overall?
- 36:25Speaker 4: When you got nothing? You got a really good time.
- 36:28Speaker 2: You're also you were thirty first in the NFL and rushing,
- 36:31Speaker 2: Your leading rusher had three hundred something yards last year.
- 36:35Speaker 4: And James Scotter's not getting younger. No, I got it,
- 36:39Speaker 4: I get it. Well, what are we doing? I know
- 36:43Speaker 4: I'm like against the always stubborn running back right now,
- 36:50Speaker 4: but objectively, the Cardinals, that was a stupid pick. Is
- 36:57Speaker 4: he an awesome player?
- 36:59Speaker 2: Hell? Yes, great player?
- 37:01Speaker 4: But and I'm sad as a fan of football that
- 37:06Speaker 4: he's on that team.
- 37:07Speaker 2: But my counter argument and question would be who would
- 37:09Speaker 2: you have selected that would have made a difference in Arizona?
- 37:12Speaker 2: Who went forth Cardinal? Yeah? Take him the receiver from
- 37:19Speaker 2: Ohio State. Sure, you've been there, done that with Marvin
- 37:22Speaker 2: Harrison Junior. How's that worked out for you? Who went fifth?
- 37:25Speaker 2: Carvelle Reese?
- 37:26Speaker 6: Marvin Harrison Junior. Ain't the Cardinals representative on that list tomorrow?
- 37:29Speaker 2: No, Michael Wilson, Is it should be Training Bright?
- 37:33Speaker 4: Probably?
- 37:34Speaker 2: Well, he's really good.
- 37:38Speaker 4: Anyway, I don't think you should take a first round,
- 37:42Speaker 4: top five pick running back without a starting quarterback already established.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Well, they didn't know Jacoby Sod was gonna hold out.
- 37:54Speaker 4: You know, it's gonna be like Sake one with the Giants.
- 38:01Speaker 4: So Jeremiah Love will be good in five years for
- 38:06Speaker 4: probably the Rams. Did the Cardinals win a game next year? Yeah,
- 38:21Speaker 4: they get one late late in the season. I say
- 38:24Speaker 4: they go own seventeen. You think so, it'd be fun.
- 38:28Speaker 2: You heard it here.
- 38:28Speaker 4: First bold prediction, First Bowl prediction for the twenty twenty
- 38:31Speaker 4: six NFL season, Cardinals own seventeen.
- 38:33Speaker 6: Maybe maybe late in the year they get a team
- 38:35Speaker 6: that's pulled all their starters because they locked up a
- 38:37Speaker 6: playoff spot or something and get a win.
- 38:39Speaker 4: No chance or head coach turns out good.
- 38:41Speaker 3: I say, I say they get two wins next year.
- 38:45Speaker 2: My first Bowl prediction Jeremiah Love offensive Rookie of the Year.
- 38:52Speaker 4: I actually like that. Even if he is still a
- 38:54Speaker 4: bad pick, it's not a bad pick at three. Maybe
- 38:59Speaker 4: if they have the six pick.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Of the top fifteen running backs in the NFL, they're
- 39:06Speaker 2: all except two first or second round picks, like you
- 39:09Speaker 2: have to have, like you got to spend an asset
- 39:11Speaker 2: on that position. They had good they have good receivers,
- 39:16Speaker 2: they have a good tight end. There wasn't a quarterback
- 39:21Speaker 2: outside of Mendoza that people thought it was worthy of
- 39:23Speaker 2: a top three pick. Maybe they should have traded it
- 39:28Speaker 2: for Miles Garrett. Maybe. So who would you rather have?
- 39:34Speaker 2: Miles Garrett or Jeremiah Love. It's an unfair question to
- 39:38Speaker 2: Jeremiah Love. He hadn't played a snap yet.
- 39:40Speaker 4: But that's my question to you.
- 39:41Speaker 3: You know, you know what the bad news is.
- 39:43Speaker 4: So you hate running backs.
- 39:45Speaker 6: If you're a Cardinals fan, both guys good players. You're
- 39:47Speaker 6: gonna suck next year with either one of them. So
- 39:52Speaker 6: I'd like to have Miles Garrett. Maybe they win two
- 39:54Speaker 6: games that year. Matt maybe, because at this rate they're
- 39:58Speaker 6: not gonna win any m.
- 40:04Speaker 2: All right, look at we on time. This is a
- 40:08Speaker 2: tank season. For that they have to get the number
- 40:10Speaker 2: one overall pick. I have to, all right, real quick
