- 0:00They're going to have a ton of money to spend.
- 0:01Why not put it in one of the top three offensive players in the
- 0:05league? We're going to be.
- 0:13Looking at Aaron Judge and saying that he can't.
- 0:16Win the big game, Michael Jordan said.

- 2:17All right, ladies and gentlemen, we have sounded out say roll
- 2:21here. Jake Wallin.
- 2:22Where's Jake Wallin at? No Jake Wallin here.
- 2:24Do you mean Jacqueline? Let's sound it out.
- 2:27What you call me? Sound it out out.
- 2:32Out all right let's get the music on and for some reason I
- 2:36guess we don't have the rundown in front of Errol let's get that
- 2:40in front of them boys welcome back just.
- 2:43Sound it out. Everyone's favorite phonics
- 2:48shamanics type of segment. Errol's going to pronounce some
- 2:52of the stars of this year's NCAA Tournament.
- 2:57Errol, you ready? Yeah, let's go.
- 2:59Here it is, right before we get into it, here's our first
- 3:04player. He's a Local 1.
- 3:06Errol sounded. Oh.
- 3:11Zubi I Jio 4, Jio 4, Jio 4. Oh, let's get the buzzer.
- 3:23Wrong answer. You don't need the.
- 3:24Close E GO-4 E GO-4, not I E GO-4. close though.
- 3:32Oh, for one chance to make up for it on the next one, play it
- 3:35again. Here it is, our next guy, Errol
- 3:42Sound. It out.
- 3:46Milan Monsilovich. Monsilovich.
- 3:53Oh, oh, you were so close. You should have went with the
- 3:56first way you were going to say it.
- 3:58It's Chilovich. Chilovich.
- 4:01Milan, Mom, Chilovich. Clearly we all know that
- 4:06whatever Eastern European is says chill with that one, guys,
- 4:11we got one more left. Here we go before we get into it
- 4:19and show all our bracket knowledge.
- 4:20Errol, last one. Big Z sounded out Vladimir
- 4:29Evitovich. No, but it was.
- 4:35That was actually not as bad as I thought it was going to be.
- 4:37That's a good job, Zvonimir Evisic.
- 4:44Evisic. These stupid names man.
- 4:48Ridiculous. That's the time of the year for
- 4:49stupid names, though, because it's Errol as you know.
- 4:53March Madness time. Speaking of March Madness, the
- 4:57number 12 high point upsets the number 5 Wisconsin 83 to 82.
- 5:03In the most notable upset in the first round at #9 TCO beat #8
- 5:09Ohio State 66 to 64 on a game-winning floater by Xavier
- 5:14Edmonds with four seconds left. They will now play face off
- 5:19against Duke, who struggled against the number 16 Sienna,
- 5:24who barely won 7165 after trailing by 11 at halftime.
- 5:29The number six Louisville #5 Vanderbilt #4 Nebraska and #3
- 5:36Michigan State and #4 Arkansas are all our other favorites that
- 5:41won their games. I, I don't know why we have to
- 5:44put all that up and it, it really, honestly, we shouldn't
- 5:48even be speaking about this until probably after the first
- 5:52round. That's, that's what I would say
- 5:55that the high point was an upset.
- 5:57Everybody expected Wisconsin to move on.
- 5:59They're a good team. They're very well built.
- 6:02They're a good three-point shooting team.
- 6:03And, and Wisconsin had the lead really throughout the game,
- 6:06except the last 7 minutes as high point came back, they
- 6:10started shooting the ball very well and Wisconsin couldn't hit
- 6:13a lick. I watched that game in itsy
- 6:16bitsy, you know, times, you know, throughout, you know,
- 6:19popping from one game to another.
- 6:21I see the problem here is I today we were working on going
- 6:26to this event. So I'm watching that and I'm
- 6:29taking care of all the other stuff that I'm doing at the
- 6:31event. So I didn't really really scope
- 6:33out what was going on in all these games.
- 6:35I watched the tail end of the Duke game and I saw I heard that
- 6:38Duke was down by 11 points going into the second-half.
- 6:43Cam Boozer did not look good, but again, Kambusa still put up
- 6:47a 2020 spot. He still had 1314 rebounds.
- 6:51Right now, teams are going to obviously make him shoot the
- 6:55ball. This is the same thing.
- 6:57I'll I'll say this about Yannis. Every Nick fan wants Yannis.
- 7:00They love Yannis. Giannis's problem in the
- 7:02playoffs is teams know how to defend against them.
- 7:05We watched what Boston did against Milwaukee a couple of
- 7:08years ago and what did Boston do?
- 7:10They challenged Giannis. They made Giannis shoot from the
- 7:13outside. Giannis is not a great shooter
- 7:16when it comes to 1819 foot jumper.
- 7:18He's not a three-point shooter. That's not Giannis game.
- 7:21Giannis strength is using his athletic ability to get into the
- 7:24paint and dominate and use his length to rebound and get those
- 7:28offensive rebounds. You know, you play teams that
- 7:31know how to defend against you. What are they going to do?
- 7:32They're going to shut you down. Cam Boozer, his strength is
- 7:36getting in the paint. He gets those 1012 foot jumpers,
- 7:40gets to the gets to the line. He's a good free throw shooter.
- 7:43He proved that he's a good free throw shooter in this game and
- 7:47it paid dividends in the second-half of the game because
- 7:49if Cam Boozer was not hitting his free throws, I think Duke
- 7:53loses the game. When Duke needs Cambusa to take
- 7:59over game, he does. It's just the problem here.
- 8:02Throughout this tournament, you we're going to see, and that's
- 8:04why I didn't pick Duke to go to my Final Four.
- 8:09I actually have UConn coming out of the East and one of the main
- 8:13reasons why is losing a significant amount of players at
- 8:19the tail end of the NCAA season going into the tournament.
- 8:23Guys that can rebound, guys that could defend.
- 8:26It hurts you. Now you have you're depending
- 8:28more on Kambusa to do more stuff.
- 8:31And, and, and, and that's something that I've learned that
- 8:33Shire has done and has been doing over the last couple of
- 8:36games is he has Kambusa taking the ball up.
- 8:40He's making him a point guard forward.
- 8:44The same thing he was using Cooper flag throughout the
- 8:47tournament last year because of the lack of point guard play.
- 8:51Now, Kaden played well in the game and Kaden has played well
- 8:56over the last week, week and a half since the injuries, and
- 9:00they're going to need him to play at a top level if they
- 9:02expect to win a championship this year.
- 9:06But Shire, and I've said this many, many times, Shire in the
- 9:10tournament has not been good. And I don't care.
- 9:12I had this argument with Jeff. Yeah, we've gone back and forth
- 9:15and he says they made the right choice.
- 9:17This guy's a great, He's a winner.
- 9:19He's a great coach. He's a great.
- 9:21He's a great leader of men. Really.
- 9:24Shire almost got knocked out by #16 seed Shire had a 12 point
- 9:30lead with a minute and 40 seconds left in the final four
- 9:35last year with Cooper flag and he lost.
- 9:42Lost. Probably wins the national
- 9:44championship. If they come out of that, maybe
- 9:48Florida. They're better than Florida and
- 9:53we're going to see a lot of that in this story.
- 9:55As a matter of fact, for for the last year, 2 years, we've seen a
- 9:59lot of number ones make it make it to the Final four.
- 10:02Except in 2023. I think that maybe one number
- 10:08one makes it to the Final Four this year.
- 10:10Maybe Michigan, maybe. I think there's a lot of number
- 10:15twos that can make it. Yukon is a #2 that I I'd watch
- 10:18out for, especially in the bracket where everything falls
- 10:21for them. Purdue, who I have winning the
- 10:24whole thing. How about this, everybody that
- 10:31has Houston counted out. Houston is in probably the
- 10:33easiest part of the bracket. Who do they have to worry about?
- 10:38Next up Texas A&M. They'll run right through Texas
- 10:41A and MI know Houston's not a good offensive team.
- 10:43Don't be surprised if Houston makes it to the Final Four.
- 10:47Don't be surprised. So we're going to see upsets.
- 10:54I didn't expect high point to be Wisconsin, Wisconsin and, and we
- 10:58might see one or two more upsets.
- 10:59We might see another team at 14 or 12 knockout one of these 5 or
- 11:056 seeds, because that's what usually happens in these
- 11:07tournaments and it's usually a 5 or 6 seed.
- 11:10The knockout, I mean a 12 knocking out a 5 or 6 seed, or
- 11:16you know, a seven seed knocking out an 8 seed or something like
- 11:19that. 7 seeds have been a common Final Four run in previous year.
- 11:238 seeds have been won recently too.
- 11:25You saw that with North Carolina.
- 11:26They went all the national championship.
- 11:27It's an 8 seed. And 11 seeds in power
- 11:31conferences are the other trend too.
- 11:32UCLA made a Final 4. NC State another team.
- 11:35That's probably the one that makes John Shire look the worst
- 11:37as a coach at 11 seed beating you in the Elite 8 after you
- 11:40just beat Houston the round before that.
- 11:42That's the one that might have the biggest, obviously, besides
- 11:44almost this game. BYUBYU is going to get
- 11:47eliminated. Right now, they're losing
- 11:48against Texas. Texas is an 11th seed, BYU is a
- 11:52six seed, and they have arguably the number one pick in this
- 11:55year's draft class. And that's the that's what you
- 11:57look at a lot of these teams, AJ Dipenza, younger teams that
- 12:01haven't done as well. Texas.
- 12:02I'm not saying I saw Miller's this great coach for Texas, but
- 12:06he hasn't been great for a while since he was with Arizona.
- 12:08And let me ask you a question because I know Fish reached out
- 12:11to me and said Kambusa didn't look good in game one.
- 12:15And does that hurt his draft stock?
- 12:17Well, AJ Deberza, is he playing well right now in this game?
- 12:21Yeah, he's like pretty Dom, and he's like 35 and eight right
- 12:25now. Yeah, well, he's not winning.
- 12:26He's not taking his team out of the first round.
- 12:29You know what, when we talked about him the other day, I was
- 12:31saying reminds me of Kevin Durant and Kevin Durant had that
- 12:34one and done when he was in the draft too.
- 12:36He's I kind of like. It's what happened to a lot of
- 12:39Flashy. Freshmen, it's a common thing,
- 12:41especially in today's game that ends up happening so.
- 12:44Yeah, look, I watched the entire game because I I actually got a
- 12:48chance to get home early and I actually, we were kind of like
- 12:51not supposed to watch it. Found a way to watch a little
- 12:53bit, but I'll just say this, like Boozer, they were doing
- 12:58things that scared me. If I'm taking him as a top pick,
- 13:01it's not like the numbers weren't great.
- 13:03He's going to put up numbers. His dad always put up numbers,
- 13:05right? But his dad had that beautiful
- 13:08rainbow jumper. You remember he used to have
- 13:10this high arcing jumper. It was like his signature thing.
- 13:13You couldn't leave him open inside the perimeter.
- 13:16They were leaving him open and he just wanted to pass.
- 13:20Or he would just put his head down and die and drive to the
- 13:22lane and try to get fouled or, you know, try to do something.
- 13:25That's all he did. And there were a bunch of times
- 13:27he was wide open and it was obvious, like take the 10 foot.
- 13:30Shot All right, so wide open. I want to say something.
- 13:33AJ Debenza has played 39 minutes.
- 13:37He has 35 points. He's 11 for 24.
- 13:39That's not good. That's not good.
- 13:41I don't care what you say. That's not good.
- 13:44You're going to tell me right now.
- 13:46And. Dude, when you're when you're
- 13:48shooting 24 shots, you're going to score 35 points.
- 13:51Well, you know why he has. You know why, though?
- 13:53He's he's got that many. He's got 12 foul shots and he's
- 13:5512 for 12 from the line. That's why he's shooting
- 13:58percent. He has not played well in this
- 13:59game. You're going to tell me you're.
- 14:01Wrong. Well, he's turned the ball over
- 14:02a little bit. He's turned the.
- 14:03Ball, 11 for 24 is not good. I'm sorry if you're expected to
- 14:08be the number one pick in the draft because if you look at Cam
- 14:10Boozer, Cam Boozer was 4 for 11. You said he was bad, but he's
- 14:14still had 22 points and he had 13 rebounds, 3 assists and his
- 14:18free throws. He was 13 for 14, so yeah.
- 14:21He was really good too. Look, he was good.
- 14:24I'm just saying. And he's winning, he's winning.
- 14:27He's moving on. He's moving on.
- 14:29I. I get it, I get it, but they
- 14:32beat a 16 seed with a bunch of guys that he should have
- 14:36dominated more than he did. I'm just saying, but you're
- 14:40right. And then I just don't think the
- 14:41bands is playing with all that much and he's trying to carry a
- 14:45team and maybe it's just not the right place.
- 14:47We all have some suspicions why he decided to go there that have
- 14:50to do with green money, you know, so.
- 14:53And I help boosters as the crumble cookies.
- 14:56Crumble cookies. Man, they were actually really
- 14:58good crumble cookies. So Patty at Penn State, I love
- 15:01it. But.
- 15:03I'm not going. To listen, I'm not going to take
- 15:05shots at the kid, all right, but 11 for 24 is not a great game.
- 15:08You're scoring, you're shooting 24 shots and you're 11 for 24
- 15:12and you're going to be. Possibly the number one pick, if
- 15:15you're 12 for 24, that's 50%. Eleven for 24 is like 47% or
- 15:19something like that. That's not good.
- 15:21That's normal. That's that's that's pretty
- 15:24good. If you're taking outside shots,
- 15:26that's like normal. And he had, he got fouled.
- 15:29Six of those shots were fouls because he had 12 for 12 under
- 15:32the line. So really, you know, the true
- 15:34shooting percentage is going to be over 50%.
- 15:37No one's going to snap at that. What I think they're going to be
- 15:40worried about is some of the things like he's going to try to
- 15:43do too much. He's going to turn the ball
- 15:45over. He's going to be a ball hog when
- 15:47he has offense because that's what he did because he went to a
- 15:50place that wasn't going to play team basketball and that's what
- 15:54he's about. Most of his points in the game
- 15:56were in the paint. So does does he have an outside
- 16:00game? Does he really have an outside
- 16:02game where he can dominate in in the in in the NBA?
- 16:05And that's the thing you go to Cambusia.
- 16:07I I'm not I'm not sticking up for Cam, but for you to say that
- 16:10it hurt his draft stock, why they still won the game.
- 16:13He still had a pretty good game. He was.
- 16:15I know, I know. You're, you're not wrong.
- 16:17He did have a pretty good game. The stats are going to say 22
- 16:20and 13. He was 13 or 14 from the line.
- 16:23You take that every single time. I'm just telling you when it got
- 16:26tough and they were down, he'd passed the ball when he had a
- 16:3110. He was not confident in the game
- 16:33and that's fine. There are players that they
- 16:35still won the game and he was a big reason why they won the
- 16:38game. Is BYU winning this game?
- 16:40No, they're not. They're.
- 16:41Getting knocked out. So let me remind you of a guy
- 16:44that was taken number one overall Once Upon a time.
- 16:48His name was Ben Simmons and he was very afraid of trying to
- 16:52make shot to take layups at the hoop and it was ended up ruining
- 16:55his career. I don't even know how you I
- 16:58don't know how you aren't taking wide open 8 footers against
- 17:01frickin Sienna. I'm sorry.
- 17:04It's weird that he didn't. I'm just saying.
- 17:07I am not attacking Cambuser for the game that he had.
- 17:09He played well. He needed to do things at the
- 17:12tail end of the game, especially hit his free throws, and he hit
- 17:15every one of them except one. I think he missed one out of all
- 17:18of them. I saw one.
- 17:19It was late too, actually. It was like, I mean, look, he
- 17:23was really great. I'm not going to.
- 17:24I don't want to take. Shots.
- 17:24I'm not. You're going to tell me this is
- 17:26going to hurt his draft stock. It's not.
- 17:28I I just think in a year where you have those three guys, you
- 17:32have that he had to have a flawless, you know.
- 17:35And what if Candace loses tomorrow too?
- 17:38I I, But that's the thing. Like I think he's so far behind
- 17:40the two of them. It has to be flawed.
- 17:42Well, good. Let let them think that and
- 17:45he'll go into the NBA and become a star in the league and and
- 17:48he'll go to Indiana, which is going to make me sick because
- 17:50that's I have this feeling. I have this feeling that
- 17:54Indiana's going to get the number three pick and they're
- 17:56going to get Cam Boozer. I just have this bad feeling
- 17:58that that's what's going to happen.
- 18:00I I'm predicting it. I'm predicting it on the show
- 18:03right now. Cam Boozer is going to be
- 18:06drafted by Indiana. That's my prediction.
- 18:09And that's what the Knicks are going to have to deal with for
- 18:11the next 15 years. Hal Burton and Cambuser, that's
- 18:16what we're going to have to deal with.
- 18:17And everybody's, I'm going to tell everybody.
- 18:18I told you, I told you about this kid.
- 18:20I told you he's going to be special.
- 18:22And what's going to happen is what's going to happen is Kaden
- 18:25is going to go back and play one more year college basketball
- 18:28because he wants to be higher. He wants to be a first round
- 18:31talent. Right now he's a second round
- 18:33talent. Even if he has a great
- 18:35tournament and he's played well since, he's gotten an
- 18:38opportunity to be a starter because after losing 2 guys,
- 18:42he's getting more touches on the ball.
- 18:44He's scoring more by a clip and he was to me as as impressive as
- 18:49Cam was in this in this game. He made some quality shots at
- 18:52the tail end of the game and you could see that Shire is trusting
- 18:55in the kid to make those shots, make those layups and it was
- 18:59very impressive. Kaden is a guy that I think he
- 19:01needs a one more year in college basketball and I think that's
- 19:04where he's going to go. I don't know if he's going to
- 19:06even next year he'll be a top ten pick because next year's
- 19:09class is going to be pretty damn good, but it's.
- 19:12Worth the risk for him to get the upside up.
- 19:14Right, so he might go to the teams.
- 19:16Don't be surprised if he goes to Indiana too, to play with his
- 19:18brother. I'd argue he's the reason they
- 19:20won that game. It was his on ball pressure
- 19:23against their ball handling at the end of the game when they
- 19:25were tired. He turned them over a few times
- 19:28in a row and it really changed the momentum.
- 19:30And then he hit his shots too. His shot is kind of off like I,
- 19:34I he's like throws like a knuckleball.
- 19:35There's not a lot of spin on the ball when he shoots.
- 19:37It was kind of weird, but it goes in, you know what I mean?
- 19:40Like, yeah, the guy. The guy is pretty precise.
- 19:42It wasn't like, it wasn't like it might have been an awkward
- 19:44looking shot, but it was still very precise.
- 19:46It wasn't like there was a lot of added motion.
- 19:48So I don't think. That's his big problem for him.
- 19:49He's I think his ceiling is really high.
- 19:52Like I really like what I saw out of him.
- 19:54But Errol, before we move on from Duke, I you had I know you
- 19:58didn't hear the post game with John Shire where he said he got
- 20:02out coached. By the 16 seed you.
- 20:04Know no, I don't I don't listen to that I don't listen to that
- 20:07you know because I. Really know it was Jerry
- 20:08McNamara, Syracuse legend. And they were running like a
- 20:12bastardized 2-3 Syracuse type of thing.
- 20:16And the guys were just running that he didn't take a single
- 20:19starter off the court until like 20 seconds left in the game and
- 20:22they were running into walls, jumping into the stands.
- 20:24It was crazy. It was so much fun to watch
- 20:27Jerry McNamara basketball. But the fact that the number one
- 20:31seed guy. He played with Carmeloanz.
- 20:32Getting out, coach. He did, I did, I remember.
- 20:35Yes, he did. He was a three-point.
- 20:36He was the point guard with Carmelo that year and he was
- 20:39there for like 5. It felt like six years or
- 20:41something like that, but. I've told you guys player back
- 20:43then, I've told you about Shire. I don't think Shire is any good
- 20:45as a head coach for the I'm stuttering tonight, Duke Blue
- 20:51Devils. My question here is for all the
- 20:54fans out there, is Duke going to be able to continue playing at a
- 20:58top level in this tournament or play at a top level in this
- 21:00tournament as the tournament starts to move on?
- 21:03Because you're going to be matched up possibly against
- 21:05Kansas or Saint Johns and then in the Elite 8, you might be
- 21:09matched up against UConn. And Yukon to me is the best team
- 21:14in this in this division, Not because I don't think Duke is
- 21:17great and then my favorite team. It's just because of the
- 21:20injuries that Duke has. And they're going to depend a
- 21:22lot on Cam Boozer and Cam Boozer when pressure teams are going to
- 21:26pressure him to make shots that he's uncomfortable making.
- 21:29And and you can see it when he was uncomfortable, he was
- 21:31forcing shots and he was forcing the ball out of his own hands.
- 21:34And we've seen this Giannis did the same thing.
- 21:37We've seen Giannis at a top level in the playoffs where
- 21:41teams were forcing him to do things he was uncomfortable
- 21:44doing. That's what happened to Cam.
- 21:46Cam's going to have to figure it out now moving on in this
- 21:48tournament. Well, he's not going to have to
- 21:50worry about people boxing out or keeping them on the outside.
- 21:53And if they do, he needs to hit his shots.
- 21:54He needs to be confident and make those shots, which all
- 21:58season long he has. I he's he's a pretty good 3
- 22:01point shooter for a guy his size too.
- 22:03He's he's a pretty good all around player.
- 22:05I I think he's just as good as Peterson and AJ, but obviously
- 22:10they're looking at AJ because of these athletic gifts and
- 22:14Peterson, who a lot of people believe is the best one out of
- 22:17all of them. And we were talking about it
- 22:18too, with the coaches in that region on the on the last show
- 22:21too. And I'm not going to say that
- 22:22I'm going to pick them to lose against their next opponent in
- 22:25TCU. But Jamie Dixon comes from that
- 22:27Jim Bayheim tree with Syracuse. And they're going to do the same
- 22:30kind of concepts. You saw that McNamara did.
- 22:33We're playing a lot of zone. And is John Shire, if he's going
- 22:36to claim he's going to adjust that, actually be a better coach
- 22:39in this game? Yeah, That's going to be enough
- 22:41to look like Duke is going to get those guys because you have
- 22:44to get those that confidence back.
- 22:45You should be TCU by double digits.
- 22:47I think they're a good team. TCU.
- 22:48I don't think they're a powerhouse by any means.
- 22:50And then you're like you said, you're looking at Saint John's,
- 22:52you're looking at you're looking at Kansas, who has the upside if
- 22:56they can stay healthy and that kind of thing.
- 22:57And even some of the teams on the other end of the drive, UCLA
- 23:00is a veteran team. They went to a Final Four.
- 23:02Mick Cronin's a good coach. And UConn, like you said, in two
- 23:04time national champions like there's enough in that region
- 23:07that's going to make it very. This tournament is, is so wide
- 23:11open, there's no predictions. You can't predict this
- 23:13tournament. I wrote a story that's posted up
- 23:16on the Worldwide Sports Radio Network and my thoughts of the
- 23:19bracket, It's, it's, it's anybody's guess.
- 23:22You cannot look at usually all the number ones don't make it to
- 23:25the Final Four. Now, last year they did.
- 23:28It happens, but it doesn't happen every single year.
- 23:32And, and to me, even looking at this year, the number ones are
- 23:35so overrated. I, I, I don't think Arizona as
- 23:39good as they've been all season long.
- 23:40Am I going to trust that Arizona's going to go all the
- 23:42way to the final floor? No, because they got to walk
- 23:44into a, a jigsaw of Purdue. And I think Purdue to me, with
- 23:48the size that they have and the rebounding they have, I think
- 23:51they could dominate the boards and take the ball away from
- 23:54Arizona and make Arizona play the game and play uncomfortable
- 23:57the game that they want to play in this tournament.
- 24:00They're also there are teams that we've talked about, VCU is
- 24:04a team going into this tournament that a lot of people
- 24:06think could surprise. Vanderbilt is another team that
- 24:09could surprise a lot of people. So Alabama who lost their one of
- 24:13their second best player. Alabama, the way everything's
- 24:17set up for them, they might not be if they get, they're playing
- 24:20Hofstra I think tomorrow, right? Yeah.
- 24:22So if they get out of the Hofstra game, I think all the
- 24:25way to the Sweet 16 or maybe even Elite 8:00, they have the
- 24:29easiest way to get there. They have.
- 24:31That until the Sweet 16 where they have to get to Michigan at
- 24:34that yeah and they'll play the winner of the Texas Tech, which
- 24:38has their best player hurt for the season 2 or Akron if they
- 24:40win that game as the 12 seed as the.
- 24:42Next I have Texas Tech winning a game I had, I didn't have.
- 24:46I didn't. I couldn't believe BYU lost the
- 24:471st. Here, let me bring up your
- 24:50brackets from our from our thing.
- 24:51I'll do that right now and we could take a look at it and I do
- 24:54have it right here. Yeah, I actually had VCU in that
- 24:56one. I had VCU in the Sweet Six team.
- 24:58We'll see if that continues. It's interesting and, and again,
- 25:02it's wide open. You don't know what to predict,
- 25:05how this thing is going to fall together and who's going to move
- 25:08on in the tournament. But my, my prediction is I think
- 25:12Connecticut is going to run away in the East.
- 25:16And, and again, there, there's there's my final four right
- 25:18there, right there. I have Michigan getting out of
- 25:22their their bracket. I have Purdue coming out of
- 25:25their bracket. I had UConn coming out of their
- 25:28bracket and I had Houston because Houston.
- 25:31I mean, besides, I, I don't know how who they're matched up
- 25:34against in the Sweet 16, who I had them reach out.
- 25:38Who did I have them match up against?
- 25:39Vanderbilt looks. Like it's Illinois and
- 25:41Vanderbilt would be the elite 8 if it gets.
- 25:43Yes. So I had them against Vanderbilt
- 25:45in the Elite 8 and then beating Vanderbilt because I think
- 25:48they're better than Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt is going to make it
- 25:50to the Elite 8 there. A lot of people surprise that
- 25:53could move on because of experience.
- 25:55Yes, they have a bunch of good young, They have a bunch of good
- 25:58veteran players on that team and they have a couple of good young
- 26:00guys too. Speedy, do we all have that
- 26:03exact same Elite 8? Because I have that too.
- 26:05No, I don't. And that and Houston coming.
- 26:07I actually have a little more vulnerability with Houston
- 26:10because I don't trust their offense as much.
- 26:12I actually had VCU running that point and I think I had because
- 26:16I remember I said I don't call your shot too.
- 26:18I had Florida losing too, so I've that region.
- 26:20That's the crazy region for me. I do have Michigan and Virginia.
- 26:23I do like Iowa State too. It was tough picking against
- 26:25them, but I think Virginia has been a little better in the
- 26:28second-half of the season. Iowa State, kind of like what I
- 26:30was mentioning with Nebraska kind of got iffy in conference
- 26:33play a little more in that Big 12 company petition.
- 26:35So I think Virginia I had a little, little higher even
- 26:38though I like all that team in that cluster fish.
- 26:40It's interesting because that right side, I have a like all
- 26:43the top heavy teams. I was mentioning with Alabama,
- 26:45like there's still a lot of run that they can make with Texas
- 26:47Tech having the injuries that they have.
- 26:49Michigan, I just think it's too much size for a team like that.
- 26:52And I think Virginia has a lot of good offensive balance
- 26:56overall that can make them dangerous too.
- 26:57That's going to be a tough match up too if that ends up being the
- 27:001/3. And then the Arizona region too,
- 27:02you have a top four. That's all very good.
- 27:04It was tough for me to pick Gonzaga or Purdue because I
- 27:06think they're both very good as well, veteran teams as well.
- 27:08I will say this and I, I, I watched AJ play throughout the
- 27:13year and he's gifted. He's athletically gifted, but I
- 27:16don't know if he has a great shot and coming into the NBA you
- 27:19need a three-point shot. If you watch this game, he hit
- 27:2213 pointer and he I think he shot like four or five of them
- 27:26if he's not consistent at. The I think it was worst,
- 27:28actually. You're that that's what they
- 27:30worry about with him. Meryl, you're 100% right.
- 27:33It's always, is this guy going to shoot?
- 27:36Enough. He's one for seven.
- 27:37He was. One, it was like 1 for 6/1 for
- 27:39seven. I think it was late in the game.
- 27:40They tried to Chuck a few up when they were it was over.
- 27:42But he's a high usage player right now.
- 27:46But here's the thing, Peterson isn't being used like that.
- 27:49And I am so fascinated to watch Peterson and what I think's
- 27:52going to be an amazing basketball game.
- 27:54That St. John's Kansas matchup I think
- 27:57will happen the second round. So if if we get that over the
- 28:01weekend, I'm I think that's going to be great basketball.
- 28:04But the thing that really confuses me about Kansas is I
- 28:08feel like they're better without Peterson.
- 28:11And that doesn't make sense because he's one of the best
- 28:13players in the in the world and at that age, right in that.
- 28:16And he's the best player they think coming out or one of the
- 28:19top three. Why is that happening?
- 28:21And it's like he's not a part of their offense.
- 28:23He doesn't fit into their scheme as much.
- 28:26And they're they're having him play off ball.
- 28:28Everything I heard about him coming out Speedy was this is an
- 28:32on ball guard that he's just like a big point guard and
- 28:35they're not using him that way. And I don't like teams that do
- 28:39that. I don't.
- 28:40I think they're real really like kind of risky pick.
- 28:45Yeah, I was, I was at a vulnerability angle with Kansas.
- 28:48I I didn't think there was enough good upset candidates
- 28:50with the 13 seeds as much this year as I would have seen.
- 28:53Maybe if it was one of the twelves, if one of the fourteens
- 28:56that I like to rise into that maybe if Yale wanted to got the
- 28:58Ivy League upset or something like that.
- 29:00I just didn't see it with. This that I've heard over the
- 29:04last couple weeks about Peterson that Peterson didn't get his NIL
- 29:08deal that was offered to him. He was missing $100,000.
- 29:11That pissed him off and that's why he didn't play hard all
- 29:14season long. Kansas should have been a one
- 29:16seed with the with the ability that Peterson has.
- 29:20Peterson and Kansas recruited a pretty good class.
- 29:22This is not a bad team, but Peterson is the best recruit if
- 29:26you look at all three players. As much as they said at AJ was
- 29:30the bona fide number one pick, Peterson has the best game.
- 29:34He can shoot, he can get into the paint, he has the athletic
- 29:38gifts, he can shoot the free throws, he can do everything and
- 29:41he's a good rebounder at his size.
- 29:43But because he doesn't show up game after game and there's a
- 29:46lot of people say that he gives up.
- 29:48He doesn't want to go back into the game in certain parts of the
- 29:51game when he feels like the team doesn't need him.
- 29:53So that's the problem with Peterson.
- 29:55I think that would scare me to draft him at #1 or maybe even #2
- 30:00maybe you, you look at him at #3 or maybe fall out of #4 Wilson
- 30:05to me and now North Carolina's Wilson.
- 30:09He's got some game, he's a great offensive gifted player and he's
- 30:14this guy's going to be a 2530 point scorer in the NBA.
- 30:16He's that good. He's long, he's got all the
- 30:19gifts as an offensive player and he could shoot the ball.
- 30:22So do you look at Peterson and you look at Wilson and say, you
- 30:25know what, I I might, I might take a flyer with Wilson because
- 30:30at least I know he's going to play hard.
- 30:31I know he's going to score and he's going to give me what I
- 30:34need for him from him at a high level every single game.
- 30:38Peterson, if he's not getting his contract, he's not happy
- 30:41with the players on his roster. He doesn't play hard.
- 30:44Who's the kid that they said he fell in the draft last year and
- 30:47he went to Utah. Who's the kid?
- 30:50Ace Bailey. Bailey, Ace.
- 30:51Bailey and Ace, barely a lot of people thought was a top five
- 30:55talent. I did.
- 30:56Everybody thought that. But there were things off the
- 30:59court that people didn't like and some of his some of his work
- 31:03ethics, they said that he didn't work very hard when he was on
- 31:07the basketball court. He could have played at a high
- 31:09level in certain games and sometimes he doesn't look like
- 31:12he's playing at a high level. And that's the same thing.
- 31:14I worry about Peterson. Peterson's a much more talented
- 31:18player than Bailey is. But if you're not going to get
- 31:21older, Peterson, why were you? Why would you give up a top
- 31:23three pick and take a flyer? And instead of taking a flyer on
- 31:27a guy like Wilson, he is coming off an injury to his finger.
- 31:30But this guy is a predominant 2530 point scorer in the NBA.
- 31:35That's a superstar in the league.
- 31:36Yeah. And you look at the type of
- 31:38mindset for these players now that in this NIL era that you're
- 31:42trying to get these bigger schools, especially on board
- 31:45these different schools, if especially on board that aren't
- 31:47the bigger schools. Obviously North Carolina is one
- 31:48of them. But you look at BYU, you're
- 31:50looking at you're looking at Rutgers last year with Harper
- 31:53and Ace Bailey on that team. And they didn't even make the
- 31:56tournament last year with a coach and Steve Pikel that we
- 31:59know is good. Errol that has been a good
- 32:00defensive minded coach that's made the tournament with teams
- 32:03not nearly as talented with them.
- 32:04And they just got eaten up alive in that tough Big 10.
- 32:06And that kind of thing you want to see carry over.
- 32:10And somebody like Sean Miller coached the bonds against the
- 32:13Bonds and let him do his thing but wear him out, I guess
- 32:15enough. And you saw they just didn't
- 32:17have enough at the end against the Texas team that has good
- 32:19talent, but it's not there's the level of somebody like and.
- 32:22And another thing, Flemings is a guy that everybody likes.
- 32:25He get a great defensive player. I think he's a shooting guard.
- 32:29Again, I'm going to kind of compare him to Donovan Mitchell.
- 32:32He's that type of player. He's not Donovan Mitchell's not
- 32:35as tall as him. He's 66, but he's very long and
- 32:38he could play the shooting guard position because to me, you have
- 32:41to be an average of 6/6 now in the NBA if you want to be at the
- 32:44shooting guard position. He's got that ability.
- 32:47He could defend multiple positions.
- 32:48I've seen him defend the three. I've seen him defend the two and
- 32:51I've seen defend the one, and I think he's going to develop a
- 32:54shot in the NBA just like Donovan Mitchell.
- 32:57As a matter of fact, he's got a better shot right now in college
- 33:00basketball than Donovan Mitchell did.
- 33:02So if he works and uses his athletic gifts that he has,
- 33:05Flemish could be an absolute steal.
- 33:08At #5 or #6 some people quote him at at #8 That's where he
- 33:13he's somewhere going to fall because there are guys a little
- 33:16bit better than him or more high quality of a pick than he is.
- 33:20But I still think if I'm a team I'm reaching, I draft them at
- 33:24six. Why not?
- 33:26I know you say that, but like, I still I've, I'm look, I took
- 33:29Arizona to win it all. I'm really, I got really into
- 33:32that Big 12 championship game and they shot Flemings down in
- 33:37that game in the second-half. And I was shocked at how well,
- 33:41how well they played. Like I thought Buries was
- 33:43playing defense like Klay Thompson play defense on the
- 33:47perimeter the way that he plays, if he could be, you know, have
- 33:50his shot be a little bit better. Like he he's got a crazy two way
- 33:54game. That kid.
- 33:55I'm really interested in who he is.
- 33:57I think he's the big X Factor in this tournament if he comes into
- 33:59his own, the top ten pick. But the guy that I wanted to
- 34:02mention was Wilson, the UNC or while you were doing the WBCUNC
- 34:07lost a double digit lead and then blew the game to VCU.
- 34:12They were up about 15 or something like that.
- 34:15Very Duke like, very Duke like. The answer?
- 34:18Assemble the rivals. It was it was ugly.
- 34:20And then they started turning him over on the inbound pass and
- 34:23they. Duke lined up.
- 34:25Another Duke thing. UNC steals it, almost gets it,
- 34:28gets like a clean shot to take, get the winner at in overtime
- 34:32and then they blow it in overtime.
- 34:33And it was, it was just remarkable what a guy like
- 34:37Wilson would have done. They wouldn't have been a six
- 34:39seed. They would have been a three
- 34:40seed if he didn't get hurt, you know, and who knows what would
- 34:44have happened in this tournament.
- 34:45I wouldn't think they were better than Virginia anyway
- 34:47though. I will say this 6. 10.
- 34:49I will say this, if you were to ask me right now, who would I
- 34:53take a flyer on, Peterson or Wilson?
- 34:56I'm probably taking Wilson not because of the talent that
- 35:00Peterson brings to the table. Darren Peterson is as good as
- 35:03anybody in this draft. Darren Peterson could be a super
- 35:07superstar in the NBA. He really could and whoever
- 35:10sitting at four or five, if he falls that far, which I don't
- 35:13believe he will, but if he does fall to four or five, they might
- 35:17get a great player. But Wilson, to me, he's a, he's
- 35:21a guy that could score. You need those guys.
- 35:23Teams like the Nets. If the Nets are sitting there at
- 35:254, are you going to bring in Peterson who's not going to like
- 35:28playing with Brooklyn cuz there's no stars playing with
- 35:31him. And honestly, if you look at who
- 35:33Darren Peterson is and what he has done this past year with
- 35:37Kansas, do you want to play with Darren Peterson?
- 35:40Probably not. Probably not.
- 35:42No matter how good he is. I'm staying the I'm staying far,
- 35:45far away from Darren Peterson. If I'm Yanis right now and I'm,
- 35:49I become a free agent in a year if I don't get traded in the
- 35:53offseason or if I do, I talked to the Nets and the Nets have
- 35:57enough to trade me to the Nets. Am I going to want to play with
- 36:00Darren Peterson knowing his background and and the back end
- 36:03of what we've heard over the last couple of weeks, last
- 36:05couple of months on him not really playing hard?
- 36:08Because I've heard stories through a player that I know
- 36:12from Kansas saying that Peterson pretty much told the coaching
- 36:15staff in one of the one of the games, one of the college games
- 36:18this year that he doesn't want to go back in.
- 36:21I mean, you're telling a coach that's telling you to get into
- 36:23the game. I don't want to get back into
- 36:25the game. I don't need to.
- 36:27You want that player. You're an NBA team and you're
- 36:30going to pay this guy a rookie contract worth about twelve, $13
- 36:34million. That's what you're going to give
- 36:36your rookie sensation that you're going to bet on a
- 36:39franchise player of that magnitude.
- 36:43Knowing that this guy didn't want to go and play in a college
- 36:45basketball game when you can help your team win.
- 36:48That to me is alarming. Wilson wouldn't do that.
- 36:51Cam Boozer wouldn't do that. As a matter of fact, one of the
- 36:54things that I've heard about Cam Boozer is the the way he plays
- 36:58under pressure. This guy is one of the best
- 37:00players. When he played in high school,
- 37:02he won a state championship. He was he was the best player on
- 37:05the court and he played against some of the best players in the
- 37:08country and he went out and won a state championship and he put
- 37:11it all on his back. What you want those kind of
- 37:14players when he wants the ball at the end of the game to try to
- 37:16hit it. That was one thing that Melo
- 37:19Anthony was great at. That was one thing at Kyrie
- 37:21Irving, even though he never really got a chance to perform
- 37:23in Duke because he broke his foot.
- 37:25These are the guys you want. Allen Iverson, he wanted the
- 37:28ball. Those guys want the ball.
- 37:31So that's my opinion. I don't know if I trust Darren
- 37:34Peterson. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 37:36this is my deuce of the day. The deuce of the day.
- 37:40You log, not a log. I don't have a log but.
- 37:49Well, ladies and gentlemen, Rob Gronkowski is back in the
- 37:53tabloids. Why are we not surprised, ladies
- 37:56and gentlemen, during Cover 19 pandemic?
- 37:58And now Rob Gronkowski has said this numerous amount of times on
- 38:02different podcasts. Well, he said it this week again
- 38:05on a podcast that he that during the COVID-19 pandemic,
- 38:10specifically in 2020 NFL offseason, Rob Gronkowski
- 38:15admitted that he bypassed mandatory virtual workouts
- 38:19requirements while he was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 38:23And here's another thing I the one thing that I could say about
- 38:27Rob Gronkowski is he also faked workouts to comply with the
- 38:32team's virtual conditioning program.
- 38:34Players had to film themselves during doing sprints and send
- 38:40them to the coaches. Gronkowski recorded multiple
- 38:43days worth of running and in one session changing his shirt to
- 38:48make it appear as though he was doing it multiple days.
- 38:54So interesting story for Rob Gronkowski.
- 38:58I don't know Rob Gronkowski personally.
- 39:00I'm I'm sure he's a good person. We had Chris on our show.
- 39:04Chris says he's a funny and, and he's great brother.
- 39:07And it's it's a great story on how Gronkowski became a
- 39:11superstar in the league. And he also had Tom Brady
- 39:12throwing the ball and he had Bill Belichick coaching him.
- 39:15But when you hear a story like this, and the same thing
- 39:17happened with Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers did not want to
- 39:21take the shot. He was actually against taking
- 39:24the shot, which caused a lot of problems during the pandemic
- 39:28because he lied about taking the shot.
- 39:31And eventually the NFL guy got wind on it and they were very
- 39:35upset that he lied about not taking that shot.
- 39:38So the problem here is, is Rob Gronkowski it it's not like not
- 39:43taking a shot and playing in a football game, But to know that
- 39:46he was not training and working out for the contract that the
- 39:49Tampa Bay Buccaneers gave him says the type of person that he
- 39:53is is that he took advantage of who he was as a superstar play
- 39:56with the the Patriots. And he said, you know what, I
- 39:58don't need to, I don't need to go to offseason workouts.
- 40:02I don't need to do mandatory virtual workouts and
- 40:04requirements because I'm Rob Gronkowski.
- 40:06So. My deuce of the day is, is that
- 40:09players need to work a little bit higher, harder.
- 40:11No matter how big of a superstar you are, if the other players
- 40:14are doing it, you should be doing it too.
- 40:16So shame on Rob Gronkowski, but guess what?
- 40:18He's laughing about it. And by the way, he's laughing to
- 40:21the bank cuz he still made his money over there in Tampa as
- 40:24every player does, especially superstar players like Rob
- 40:27Gronkowski. And by the way, they did win a
- 40:30Super Bowl and he was a part of that as well.
- 40:32So. And was he not the one that
- 40:34almost threw the trophy into the ocean?
- 40:38It was not not him. It's into Tampa Bay, literally.
- 40:41Yeah, so typical Rob Gronkowski fashion.
- 40:44So yeah, that's Rob Gronkowski, ladies and gentlemen.
- 40:47And I love Rob. I think he's a great, I don't
- 40:50think he's a great analyst, but I love his personality.
- 40:52I love his who he is and his just everything about him on the
- 40:56back end. I like him.
- 40:58His podcasts are funny. I don't like him doing
- 41:01broadcasting or play by play. He's really, really bad at it.
- 41:04Fox needs to get rid of him. Julian Edelman is a has a good
- 41:07podcast too. I like his podcast, but when
- 41:10he's doing anything with analyzing what happened in
- 41:12games, I don't want to hear what he has to say.
- 41:14I don't care if he played in the NFL.
- 41:16It's it's like asking a guy that is trying to pretend that he's a
- 41:20head coach explain what he sees on a television.
- 41:24OK, He is not a quarterback. These guys are not quarterbacks.
- 41:27Tight ends are not quarterbacks. Wide receivers are not going to.
- 41:30Even though Julian Edelman when he played college football, he
- 41:33was a quarterback, but his whole career in the NFL he was a wide
- 41:37receiver. So I don't want to hear what he
- 41:39has to say. I'd rather hear what Tom Brady
- 41:41has to say. And he's been pretty good at it.
- 41:43But guess what? The NFL has found ways for Tom
- 41:46Brady to get away with things too, because he gets to own a
- 41:48team and he gets to make 3635 million dollars and get the
- 41:52highest paid contract and analyze as an analyst in NFL
- 41:55history and sports history. Why?
- 41:57Because he's Tom Brady. Thank you to all the Spotify and

- 44:07He works with the NBA. He's one of the best at looking
- 44:11at data and and looking at who's going to be good and in the
- 44:16future where these guys are going to be as NBA players,
- 44:18college players. And he is one of the best.
- 44:20So I'm excited to have him on. I'd love to hear his take on AJ
- 44:25and Peterson and Boozer and where he sees how the NBA is
- 44:30going to look at these guys as the top three prospects coming
- 44:33out of this year's draft and his Wilson moving up even with not
- 44:36playing in this tournament and breaking his finger.
- 44:39So and I think he is moving up. I I think he's as good as any
- 44:43one of these guys as well. So very, very interesting.
