- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello and welcome. Sorry, there's a little bit of pause
- 0:21Speaker 2: there before all the introductions and everything else goes on.
- 0:26Speaker 2: I want to go ahead and make an announcement since
- 0:28Speaker 2: we are live on YouTube right now, which we will
- 0:31Speaker 2: always be live every Wednesday at seven pm. Hopefully there's
- 0:35Speaker 2: some things that are going to be happening within the
- 0:36Speaker 2: next few weeks that might hinder us from going live
- 0:40Speaker 2: exactly at seven pm, but we will go live on Wednesdays.
- 0:45Speaker 2: But I'm gonna go ahead and make the statement now.
- 0:48Speaker 2: We are currently under a ice storm advisory and all
- 0:54Speaker 2: day today we have been warned that over the course
- 1:00Speaker 2: of the next few hours or so, we may experience
- 1:03Speaker 2: outages from internet to actual power and all of this stuff.
- 1:07Speaker 2: So just a fair warning. If this podcast just ends,
- 1:11Speaker 2: then that's that's that's why. But Fie, Hello, of course,
- 1:17Speaker 2: I am your host, co host of Star Wars Alliance
- 1:21Speaker 2: of course Clay and with me like always giggling up
- 1:25Speaker 2: a storm over here is Katie. Okay.
- 1:31Speaker 3: I will have to pause at about ten minutes myself
- 1:34Speaker 3: because it's been a day and Matt is providing cookies.
- 1:38Speaker 3: So if you see me bunching on a double chocolate cookie.
- 1:42Speaker 2: So sorry, it's funny. It's funny that you bring that
- 1:46Speaker 2: up because everybody in their grandmother today was talking about
- 1:51Speaker 2: this new flavor of doctor Pepper that came out recently. Ah, yes, BlackBerry.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I picked it up. Interesting, I sipped it. I'm still
- 2:03Speaker 2: gonna drink it because I wasted money on it. It
- 2:07Speaker 2: tastes like you just poured grape soda into a doctor pepper.
- 2:11Speaker 2: It's not great, but I'm not gonna say. I'm not
- 2:15Speaker 2: gonna say it's bad because I like grape soda. But
- 2:19Speaker 2: I wouldn't buy a pack of it. You know. It's
- 2:21Speaker 2: not like something I would like if somebody was like, hey,
- 2:24Speaker 2: bring something to the party. I'm not gonna buy BlackBerry
- 2:28Speaker 2: doctor pepper because I wouldn't want to put everybody through that.
- 2:31Speaker 2: But I'm being a trooper. I'm trying it out. I'm
- 2:34Speaker 2: drinking it. But I also have a bottle of water
- 2:36Speaker 2: right next to me.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Water, Yeah, and milk will be coming with the cookies.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Triple threat right there. So, of course we did not
- 2:50Speaker 2: have a show last week. My life has been absolutely
- 2:54Speaker 2: chaotic at work and I needed a break. I needed
- 2:58Speaker 2: it to day.
- 2:59Speaker 3: So and my house just went on the market, so
- 3:02Speaker 3: I needed the time to clean exactly.
- 3:04Speaker 2: So it kind of worked out in our favor kind of.
- 3:09Speaker 2: But with that break, we actually have quite a few
- 3:12Speaker 2: things to talk about. Excuse me now. Our scheduled main
- 3:19Speaker 2: topic is, of course, Star Wars Adventures Volume two.
- 3:25Speaker 3: From Base Republic Adventures.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yes, sorry, the High Republic Adventures from Phase three, volume two.
- 3:34Speaker 2: But if you look at our thumbnail and of course
- 3:37Speaker 2: the episode title, we got hit with a pretty big rumor.
- 3:43Speaker 2: This has not been confirmed. It is a is a
- 3:47Speaker 2: big rumor, but a rumor that I would absolutely love
- 3:51Speaker 2: to see happen.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Apoplexy last week when you sent me this and I said, thrown.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Question mark, Oh my god. No. Okay, yeah, so let's
- 4:03Speaker 2: just jump right into it. Let's just jump right into
- 4:05Speaker 2: this conversation. Okay. So, the biggest rumor that there is
- 4:10Speaker 2: right now with Star Wars is that Henry Cavill has
- 4:14Speaker 2: seemingly found his way into a Star Wars film. Now,
- 4:20Speaker 2: I don't believe, and I can double check, I don't
- 4:26Speaker 2: believe he is attached to anybody's individual movie. Yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 3: It didn't state any movie in particular.
- 4:35Speaker 2: It just says Henry Cavill is reportedly in talks with
- 4:38Speaker 2: Lucasfilm for a villain role in an upcoming Star Wars project.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Oh did it say villain roll? I forgot about that, I.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Believe, so, uh again, grain of salt. This is also
- 4:54Speaker 2: coming from Twitter Scooper Extraordinaire my Time to Shine. They
- 5:04Speaker 2: have not been all that great with scoops nowadays. They
- 5:08Speaker 2: are very hit and miss. But this is a big
- 5:12Speaker 2: enough rumor that I'm kind of hoping it actually becomes true.
- 5:16Speaker 2: But yeah, Katie. When I shared this with Katie because
- 5:20Speaker 2: it first hit the g U chat and then I
- 5:23Speaker 2: sent it to her, Katie was like, oh, a younger Thron.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Iron recast.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Oh you said thron replacement. And I immediately was like,
- 5:44Speaker 2: I get.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Because he was. He was, yeah, well, okay, there was
- 5:51Speaker 3: Benette Cumberbatch, and then there was Henry Cavill that that
- 5:55Speaker 3: was like the too popular fan cast.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Then I idiately hit you with the Darth Baane photo
- 6:05Speaker 2: and I said, hey, I think I got something here
- 6:11Speaker 2: because the only reason why I say this is reading
- 6:16Speaker 2: the Baine trilogy, seeing Darth Baane really grow into that character.
- 6:25Speaker 3: M hm.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I would like I could almost imagine a Garlt type
- 6:34Speaker 2: of Bill for Bane and like just seeing him turn
- 6:40Speaker 2: into a Darth Baane. I'm like, oh, that would be amazing.
- 6:46Speaker 3: But then you sent one other one yes.
- 6:49Speaker 2: And the well no, no, Before before I did that,
- 6:56Speaker 2: before I said before, I said Gosling as corn Horn,
- 7:00Speaker 2: I said or, and I shared a picture of us
- 7:04Speaker 2: of Stellin Stellin Geos, and I'm like, hey, it could work.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I'm not saying that it couldn't work, but it could work.
- 7:12Speaker 2: And then that's when I dropped the bomb. I'm like, hey,
- 7:15Speaker 2: you know what, I have made my final decision. I
- 7:18Speaker 2: know what I want, Ryan Gosling as corn Horn and
- 7:23Speaker 2: Henry as x r Kun.
- 7:26Speaker 3: That's it for me.
- 7:28Speaker 2: This duo would be absolutely amazing. Now for everybody who
- 7:37Speaker 2: has and has not read the Star Wars Jedi Academy, it's.
- 7:45Speaker 3: The Jedi Academy trilogy and Eye Jedi and I Jedi.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Yes, there are minimal interactions with Henry or sorry, I'm
- 7:59Speaker 2: already I'm already picturing him as x s Arkun. There's
- 8:02Speaker 2: there are minimal interactions between x Racoon and corn Horn,
- 8:08Speaker 2: but there is such a like presence of x Arcuhon
- 8:16Speaker 2: throughout those books, and they do it very very well.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Very uh lurking in the shadows, very much within the force,
- 8:30Speaker 2: you know, being guided by this person or that person.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Dad.
- 8:34Speaker 2: But I would just love to see that moment when
- 8:41Speaker 2: they go into that temple and you see the manifestation
- 8:46Speaker 2: of x Arkun and it just be Henry.
- 8:50Speaker 3: And then mar Jay coming in to rescue Koran.
- 8:54Speaker 2: It would be so and and that's that's the thing.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Like you would also get the opportunity to bring up
- 9:04Speaker 2: a mar Jade.
- 9:07Speaker 3: It won't happen.
- 9:08Speaker 2: It won't happens.
- 9:11Speaker 3: The dream this is, that's.
- 9:14Speaker 2: All this is. It's a huge fan cast. But I said,
- 9:17Speaker 2: I said, I was like lucasfilm. Let me cook here
- 9:20Speaker 2: for a second. Okay, if it's if it's not this,
- 9:23Speaker 2: I won't accept anything else. Kind of it's Henry being
- 9:27Speaker 2: in Star Wars. I'll accept it either way. Because I
- 9:30Speaker 2: don't know if anybody else remembers this, but I believe
- 9:35Speaker 2: it was during the filming of BBS. Zack Snyder posted
- 9:44Speaker 2: on May fourth a photo of Henry cavill in the
- 9:51Speaker 2: Superman suit having a cloak on with a red lightsaber
- 9:59Speaker 2: and like the was like over his eyes and everything
- 10:02Speaker 2: it was very shadowed and everything else and I'm like, Damn,
- 10:06Speaker 2: I need this man in a Star Wars film right now.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Greg and I actually talked about that. We did a
- 10:11Speaker 3: whole episode when we first started diving into the Bayand
- 10:15Speaker 3: trilogy on should Zack Snyder direct a Baane movie because
- 10:21Speaker 3: that was one of the topics that came up and everything.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I don't think I would trust Snyder with a Baane movie. Like,
- 10:29Speaker 2: I I get the action would be great, I don't
- 10:36Speaker 2: know if I would get the emotion, yeah, and if
- 10:39Speaker 2: I would get the like And another thing that I
- 10:43Speaker 2: think I would get from Snyder is like the environmental storytelling,
- 10:51Speaker 2: like the just like the setting of like just everywhere
- 10:56Speaker 2: that you go in that trilogy. Yeah, especially just even
- 11:00Speaker 2: in the just the first book, like the point where
- 11:04Speaker 2: he takes a journey into this desolate planet looking for
- 11:09Speaker 2: this freaking one hundred year freaking Sith temple that nobody
- 11:16Speaker 2: has dared to even try to find. Like, even that
- 11:20Speaker 2: I think would be absolutely amazing. So I could see
- 11:25Speaker 2: Snyder doing some things. I think I would trust him
- 11:28Speaker 2: more as a cinematographer on that movie rather than the
- 11:32Speaker 2: actual director. But that's what everybody says about.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Zack Snyder for the audience perspective, what uh.
- 11:39Speaker 2: What cookies are they? What kind of cookies?
- 11:41Speaker 3: So the Pillsbury double Chocolate chip cookies.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Nice. Now, I'm not a chocolate person, but I'm sure
- 11:48Speaker 2: that sounds amazing to everybody else.
- 11:51Speaker 3: I still can't believe you're not a chocolate person. I
- 11:55Speaker 3: even have like gar A Deli squares by my desk
- 11:58Speaker 3: when I get a cravy.
- 12:02Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 12:04Speaker 3: They hit the realtor when she came to take pictures,
- 12:06Speaker 3: was like, okay, this has to go. It's my candy
- 12:09Speaker 3: stash on the table back there. That's way so I
- 12:13Speaker 3: don't have to go down the stairs.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Sorry, all right, now I just remembered. We actually do
- 12:25Speaker 2: have let's see here. We do have another piece of
- 12:32Speaker 2: news that we did not get to talk about because
- 12:35Speaker 2: we did not have a show last week. The directors
- 12:41Speaker 2: for and Or season two have been confirmed.
- 12:46Speaker 3: All right, y'all, we are going to hit our first
- 12:47Speaker 3: ad break and we will be right back in three
- 12:50Speaker 3: two one.
- 12:53Speaker 2: So yeah, they have been confirmed, but for some reason,
- 12:57Speaker 2: it's not showing episodes episode four.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Yes, somebody did so. Tony Gilroy had an interview and
- 13:07Speaker 3: he revealed these directors for the certain episodes, but didn't
- 13:11Speaker 3: talk about episode four. And we know Gilroy is not
- 13:14Speaker 3: directing anything because he did want to be behind the
- 13:17Speaker 3: director's chair. He wanted to be the showrunner.
- 13:20Speaker 2: And so who do you think is directing episode four?
- 13:26Speaker 3: I'm wondering if it's Circus.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Ooh, that would be a fun.
- 13:35Speaker 3: One, right, Okay, So episodes one through three and ten
- 13:42Speaker 3: through twelve are aerial climbing, which I think this is
- 13:46Speaker 3: the first time a female director has gotten the chair
- 13:49Speaker 3: for the first and last episode of series for Star Wars,
- 13:54Speaker 3: so that's cool. She's done Yellowjackets and The Resort. Alonso
- 14:00Speaker 3: Ruiz Palacio, he did La Cocina and Outer Range. He
- 14:06Speaker 3: is doing episodes five through six. And Janus Met who
- 14:10Speaker 3: did True Detective and Zero zero zero, is doing episode
- 14:14Speaker 3: seven through nine.
- 14:17Speaker 2: This is this is very exciting to me because we
- 14:21Speaker 2: know that it's starting like it's it's right around the corner.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Like I'm over here thinking that it's already mid February,
- 14:29Speaker 2: and I'm like, we're getting and or in like this
- 14:32Speaker 2: many weeks and it's just the beginning of February. So
- 14:35Speaker 2: I'm a little I'm a little disappointed myself, but just
- 14:37Speaker 2: knowing that it's right there. We're gonna be getting it soon.
- 14:41Speaker 2: It's very very exciting, guys. You need to remember also
- 14:44Speaker 2: this month, we're gonna have our Mask of Fear review
- 14:51Speaker 2: coming out later this month. It should be looking at
- 14:56Speaker 2: the calendar, uh, the episode of the twenty of.
- 15:01Speaker 3: This that's so that'll be a two episode drop.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Yes, it would, it would. It would be our review
- 15:06Speaker 2: for the Mask of Fear, and then of course, uh,
- 15:09Speaker 2: anything and everything that is coming out for that week
- 15:13Speaker 2: as well, So a lot of Star Wars content to
- 15:18Speaker 2: look forward to. Still, so it's very very exciting.
- 15:22Speaker 3: I was planning our April through June guys, because I
- 15:26Speaker 3: just had time and was like, I'm gonna go ahead
- 15:28Speaker 3: and lay out what we're doing and everything. And I
- 15:32Speaker 3: was laying out all the comic and book reviews and stuff,
- 15:35Speaker 3: and I didn't even test to play. Y'all. We're gonna
- 15:37Speaker 3: do a Star Wars celebration solo rundown, and then we're
- 15:41Speaker 3: gonna do an and or episodes one through three, because
- 15:44Speaker 3: I'm assuming that's what The release schedule is going to be.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Very similar to what happened last year.
- 15:49Speaker 2: You're gonna do.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Two separate episodes y'all. I forgot to put and or
- 15:52Speaker 3: in for the rest of the time. So I'm like
- 15:54Speaker 3: laying out all these book reviews, and I'm like, man, like,
- 15:59Speaker 3: there is something new every single week. And then I
- 16:01Speaker 3: look back as I start to put these on my
- 16:03Speaker 3: actual calendar because we have a doc and then I
- 16:06Speaker 3: put them on the calendar and I'm like, holy crap,
- 16:08Speaker 3: I didn't put and or the rest of them. Because
- 16:14Speaker 3: April and May are swamped with high republic things.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I do want to go ahead and share that we
- 16:26Speaker 2: will actually be having one surprise review probably this month.
- 16:33Speaker 2: I'll go ahead and name drop it now. I teased
- 16:35Speaker 2: it earlier because I still hadn't received my copy, and
- 16:39Speaker 2: I finally received it like four days after Katie got hers.
- 16:44Speaker 2: But for any and all parents out there, we were
- 16:51Speaker 2: very gratefully given the opportunity to have Star Wars Someone
- 16:57Speaker 2: Who Loves You, a children's novel written by h. Beth
- 17:02Speaker 2: Reeves and illustrated by Oh shoot they actually yes, yes,
- 17:13Speaker 2: uh ill no, no, it's uh Sophia Lou. I believe is
- 17:19Speaker 2: the is the name?
- 17:21Speaker 3: Why do I have undre in my head? Oops?
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yeah, Sophia Lou. It was a little bit of a
- 17:29Speaker 2: bigger book than I thought it was gonna be. I.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Uh.
- 17:34Speaker 2: I was expecting just like the small children's book to
- 17:36Speaker 2: come at my door, and then I saw this very
- 17:39Speaker 2: large package. I was like, what is this? And then
- 17:41Speaker 2: I opened it. I was like, holy crap, this thing
- 17:43Speaker 2: is like it's a kid's book, but it's one of
- 17:45Speaker 2: those like extra large like format.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Have terrible vision apparently.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Uh, but I love the art in it. We will
- 17:53Speaker 2: talk about all of that. We will uh talk about
- 17:56Speaker 2: the just general story of it. But of course, us
- 18:01Speaker 2: being parents of daughters, we of course wanted to give
- 18:07Speaker 2: this book a try, and I am like that day
- 18:11Speaker 2: after I immediately got it, I was like, yep, I'm
- 18:13Speaker 2: reading this for you for bedtime. She did not like bedtime,
- 18:18Speaker 2: but she enjoyed the book. So just be on the
- 18:23Speaker 2: lookout for that review sometime this month, along with of
- 18:28Speaker 2: course The Mask of Fear. Yes, but speaking of books,
- 18:35Speaker 2: we have some comic news the books and then book
- 18:40Speaker 2: news later. Yes, comic news. In the upcoming comic book
- 18:46Speaker 2: Legacy of Vader, it will show Kylo Rinn between the
- 18:50Speaker 2: events of the Last Jedi and the Rise of Skywalker,
- 18:55Speaker 2: tracking down survivors of Order sixty six, so says some
- 19:01Speaker 2: people on YouTube and all these other things. Now, this
- 19:05Speaker 2: caused a whole bunch of hubbub. This was abs like,
- 19:11Speaker 2: this caused a lot more.
- 19:13Speaker 3: They've lodged their minds.
- 19:15Speaker 2: No, and and then of course it's it's one of
- 19:19Speaker 2: Travis's favorite conversations Order sixty six if you haven't already
- 19:23Speaker 2: known this before, But he's like, Order sixty six survivors,
- 19:28Speaker 2: are you kidding me? Like, what are we doing here?
- 19:31Speaker 2: I did see a really funny tweet that said at
- 19:34Speaker 2: this point Yoda was just gaslighting Luke when he said,
- 19:38Speaker 2: when when Gode I am the last of the Jedi,
- 19:41Speaker 2: you will be It's it's a funny remark. It's okay
- 19:45Speaker 2: to like meme about these things, but to genuinely be
- 19:49Speaker 2: upset about this, I think is really really dumb. Now,
- 19:54Speaker 2: since that statement was made, Charles Soul himself said, Nope,
- 20:01Speaker 2: there's one Order sixty six survivor in this series, and
- 20:05Speaker 2: it's a very smart, small part of the overall story. Guys,
- 20:12Speaker 2: What we need to understand One, this is a fictional story.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Calm down, okay. And two I'll probably have three points.
- 20:27Speaker 2: But two, this story takes place in a galaxy far,
- 20:36Speaker 2: far away, far and in between, with thousands of planets, yep,
- 20:45Speaker 2: and you're surprised and disappointed and angry that somebody didn't
- 20:51Speaker 2: get absolutely freaking murdered during the obliteration of the Jedi.
- 20:58Speaker 2: For one, again, you guys need to calm down. And two,
- 21:03Speaker 2: that is very possible, very very possible with that many planets.
- 21:10Speaker 2: For one, if you guys don't think there should be
- 21:14Speaker 2: any survivors, like what does that say about the competence
- 21:18Speaker 2: of these people that were protecting the galaxy to begin with?
- 21:21Speaker 2: You know, like, yes, it's supposed to be this big
- 21:24Speaker 2: thing that like, oh, you know, they caught them by surprise.
- 21:27Speaker 2: They weren't expecting this. That's why it was such a
- 21:30Speaker 2: mass murder throughout the galaxy. But like if there was
- 21:35Speaker 2: one or two, or ten or even fifteen out of
- 21:38Speaker 2: the thousands, I think it's okay.
- 21:42Speaker 3: And I mean you're talking about like these little kids
- 21:46Speaker 3: who are most of those survivors. And then you're also
- 21:50Speaker 3: talking about like one of the survivors that's in Charles
- 21:53Speaker 3: Soul's Darth Vaden run. He banished himself from the order
- 21:58Speaker 3: because he thought he was doing things like he thought
- 22:01Speaker 3: he wasn't following the ways of the Force. He took
- 22:03Speaker 3: the Barrash vow. You can't tell me that there's others
- 22:06Speaker 3: who didn't potentially take that vow. At the same time,
- 22:10Speaker 3: it like disappeared where there weren't any Clone Troopers. Yeah,
- 22:17Speaker 3: Like these people just went off into the galaxy. The
- 22:19Speaker 3: Jedi didn't take note of where they were going, Like,
- 22:26Speaker 3: there's no record of them. They get found minorly like yeah,
- 22:35Speaker 3: so so, And like Soul said, this was going to
- 22:40Speaker 3: be visiting his like the past and future of Star
- 22:46Speaker 3: Wars for what he's tackled. So to say that he
- 22:50Speaker 3: wouldn't bring back things from the Darth Vader run, it's
- 22:54Speaker 3: a little like insane, guys.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I think gets very ridiculous, very silly. And when
- 23:03Speaker 2: it comes to these books, genuinely, I will always tell
- 23:06Speaker 2: you wait until the trade comes out, read the story
- 23:09Speaker 2: and judge for yourself, because for one thing I know
- 23:13Speaker 2: for sure.
- 23:15Speaker 4: Soul will always always have a good Star Wars story. Hey, well,
- 23:27Speaker 4: especially with the title including Darth Vader. You know it
- 23:31Speaker 4: is legacy of Vader. His Vader run was absolutely phenomenal.
- 23:37Speaker 4: You know this is gonna be good, So take a
- 23:41Speaker 4: chance read it and judge for yourself. Now, going down
- 23:45Speaker 4: the list of what is in our Star Wars chat,
- 23:49Speaker 4: the next thing we have is Daisley Ridley's Star Wars
- 23:54Speaker 4: movie enlists writer George no Leaf or null far no Fie.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Okay, we're gonna go into our second ad break and
- 24:06Speaker 3: we'll be right back.
- 24:08Speaker 2: So I am actually because I have no idea who
- 24:15Speaker 2: he is.
- 24:16Speaker 3: He has written. He has worked on the screenplays for
- 24:20Speaker 3: The Bone, The Bourne Ultimatum, and Ocean's Twelve as like
- 24:24Speaker 3: his highlights, so looking at which I've seen Oceans twelve
- 24:31Speaker 3: and I love Ocean's twelve so very exciting.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Okay, So in his IMDb credits as a writer, he has,
- 24:41Speaker 2: of course, like you said, the Bourne Ultimatum, there is
- 24:47Speaker 2: The Adjustment Bureau, which I actually really love that movie.
- 24:52Speaker 2: That is a oh shoot, who who was in that movie?
- 25:00Speaker 2: Matt Damon and Emily Blunt are in that movie along
- 25:05Speaker 2: with oh shoot, who else was in that movie? Anthony
- 25:12Speaker 2: mackew was also in that movie. It's a really really
- 25:16Speaker 2: interesting movie. Overall. I thought it was very clever, very fun,
- 25:25Speaker 2: neat little twist in there as well, very fun movie.
- 25:30Speaker 2: So I like everything, well, the things that I've seen
- 25:36Speaker 2: of his I enjoy so for that, I will say, Okay, Like,
- 25:47Speaker 2: I don't know how that will really Like the movies
- 25:51Speaker 2: that he has written or helped write on, I don't
- 25:56Speaker 2: really know how that exactly translates to Wars, but I
- 26:03Speaker 2: am willing to give it a shot.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, I like what he's put together, and I
- 26:10Speaker 3: think it could be an interesting take on a different
- 26:13Speaker 3: genre for Star Wars potentially with what he brings, especially
- 26:19Speaker 3: with Daisy Ridley's latest film that she's working on with
- 26:22Speaker 3: I believe it's her husband The Cleaner, where she's like
- 26:26Speaker 3: a window cleaner and then has to take on like
- 26:29Speaker 3: a bunch of villains and stuff in this high rise.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Very excited for that, so I think there's a lot
- 26:37Speaker 3: of promise here. And again, the revolving door of screenwriters
- 26:43Speaker 3: is only because this is a famous IP people. This
- 26:48Speaker 3: does not get us noticed if it's not IP, so
- 26:53Speaker 3: just remember that.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I totally agree. Switching back to book News, we
- 27:04Speaker 2: were really excited about this reveal. We made some guesses
- 27:07Speaker 2: as of who might be on the cover, and for
- 27:11Speaker 2: the most part we were absolutely correct. So the reveal
- 27:16Speaker 2: of trails Trials of the Jedi excuse me. It is
- 27:21Speaker 2: the final High Republic novel, set to release June seventeenth
- 27:26Speaker 2: of twenty twenty five. It is right there, Katie, we're
- 27:31Speaker 2: almost done with this. I can't not okay. I am
- 27:35Speaker 2: not okay with it being so close. I don't want
- 27:38Speaker 2: to say I don't.
- 27:41Speaker 3: I don't either. It's very sad to me, especially as
- 27:46Speaker 3: I was playing with sketche, I was like, holy crap,
- 27:48Speaker 3: what are we going to do when all these characters
- 27:50Speaker 3: are gone? Like, what what is going on? So on
- 27:56Speaker 3: the cover, as we predicted is Avar, Chris burry Bell
- 28:05Speaker 3: and Elzar. Forgot Lsar's name for a second there, yea.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Also we have ty Yorick decked out in the cloak
- 28:17Speaker 3: and armor. It looks like of the Jedi orders. So
- 28:20Speaker 3: has she reclaimed her Jedi ness?
- 28:26Speaker 2: I I don't know, Like I can very much see
- 28:31Speaker 2: it being like, hey, you clearly need my help or
- 28:38Speaker 2: I feel obligated to help either or due to the
- 28:43Speaker 2: severity of protecting the galaxy. And we've seen this time
- 28:50Speaker 2: and time again, Like hell, we're even gonna be talking
- 28:53Speaker 2: about of course Star Wars the High Republic Adventures. Yep,
- 28:59Speaker 2: there's character in here, one of the main characters that
- 29:02Speaker 2: decided to walk away from the Jedi, but it's clearly
- 29:06Speaker 2: doing things to still protect the galaxy, is still doing
- 29:10Speaker 2: their part, so it's not it's not going to be
- 29:14Speaker 2: surprising to me when I read this part of whichever
- 29:18Speaker 2: book it may be, whether it be in the Trials
- 29:22Speaker 2: of the Jedi or in any other book prior to
- 29:26Speaker 2: this release, when they actually say like, hey, I'm here
- 29:30Speaker 2: to help you know, and we will.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Be talking about Sabers for Higher Phase three and in
- 29:38Speaker 3: a couple of weeks. So yeah, we may see it
- 29:43Speaker 3: in that comic as well, because that trade is also out,
- 29:47Speaker 3: so but yeah, I love Tie from what I've read
- 29:53Speaker 3: of her so far, so I'm very excited to see
- 29:55Speaker 3: her back in a book because the Rising Store was
- 29:59Speaker 3: one of my my favorites. So yeah, very excited. I
- 30:05Speaker 3: love this cover. Tom said that they were trying to
- 30:10Speaker 3: articulate with the Phase three covers, the Rising Sun and everything,
- 30:18Speaker 3: and I think this does it beautifully because you've got
- 30:21Speaker 3: what is it, Oh my gosh, the Eye of Darkness
- 30:26Speaker 3: is like all black, and then you've got Temptation of
- 30:32Speaker 3: the Force. Sorry, I want to look at myself. Temptation
- 30:37Speaker 3: of the force with like the dawn, and then you've
- 30:39Speaker 3: got this one with beautiful colors with the pinks and
- 30:44Speaker 3: the greens and like yellows that like articulate the sun raising.
- 30:48Speaker 3: So I love this.
- 30:51Speaker 2: I really love the color palette for this book. And
- 30:56Speaker 2: hopefully I don't think it will be though, hopefully the
- 31:02Speaker 2: rising sun the eventual like I've already had in this
- 31:11Speaker 2: phase like twice now, the happy ending that I've always wanted.
- 31:16Speaker 2: And I just know Soul was like, Okay, you had it.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Now I have to crush you.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Well you remember he said he wraps it all up
- 31:24Speaker 3: in the last five pages.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Yeah, So I just know it's gonna just be like
- 31:30Speaker 2: boom boom boom, like super quick, and I'm just my
- 31:34Speaker 2: soul is just going to be crushed.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Random House Worlds. Can we please get noticed for when
- 31:40Speaker 3: we're going to get this book so I can take
- 31:41Speaker 3: like two days off work and read it. I will
- 31:46Speaker 3: be surprised.
- 31:48Speaker 2: And may have to do the same. I may have
- 31:51Speaker 2: to do the same. Yeah, So looking forward to it,
- 31:58Speaker 2: not looking forward to it. Of course. We are getting
- 32:03Speaker 2: a lot more books, as we will talk about later
- 32:05Speaker 2: on in these announcements, but we got another manga this
- 32:12Speaker 2: one was a complete surprise to me. I was not
- 32:15Speaker 2: expecting this, and I don't think anybody else was expecting this.
- 32:20Speaker 2: A manga called The Path of the Lightsaber is releasing
- 32:24Speaker 2: this fall and will take place during Star Wars sequel trilogy. Now,
- 32:29Speaker 2: did you actually get a chance to read anything about
- 32:32Speaker 2: this book? Because I didn't get that chance.
- 32:35Speaker 3: So I did, and I've got it pulled up so
- 32:38Speaker 3: I will walk us through it. So it's called The
- 32:43Speaker 3: Path of the Lightsaber by Kenny Ruiz, and the quote
- 32:48Speaker 3: ambitious tale will be set between The Last Jedi and
- 32:51Speaker 3: the Rise of the Skywalker. This manga is loaded with
- 32:55Speaker 3: brand new characters and original stories, as well as the
- 33:00Speaker 3: High Republic throwbacks. So that is very interesting to see.
- 33:07Speaker 3: The cover, which I will share if I can find
- 33:13Speaker 3: the button. We cannot share on the vertical monitor because
- 33:21Speaker 3: my vertical monitor is currently broken. But we've got a
- 33:25Speaker 3: yellow Lightsaber taking front and center with different ships the
- 33:30Speaker 3: first Ordered Troopers over here, but then it feels like
- 33:34Speaker 3: I can't remember her species, but that feels like the
- 33:40Speaker 3: Heralds from Phase two species right here, this character, and
- 33:49Speaker 3: then it looks like a little BB eight droid over here.
- 33:53Speaker 3: So I love the artwork. I wish it was gonna
- 33:57Speaker 3: be color, but as we as I have a lear
- 34:00Speaker 3: manga is not color.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Well, I will say this, this what I will assume
- 34:07Speaker 2: will be the cover of this manga, absolutely gorgeous. I
- 34:12Speaker 2: love the art, Yes, I love I will say this, Katie.
- 34:20Speaker 2: I don't know if they will do it for this
- 34:22Speaker 2: one in particular, but in the circles that I follow
- 34:26Speaker 2: on social media and I know that you have gotten
- 34:29Speaker 2: off of it for the most part, there's a lot
- 34:33Speaker 2: of people who in their off time will color manga.
- 34:42Speaker 2: There's it's not for official release, of course, but what
- 34:46Speaker 2: they will do is they'll take like the biggest splash pages,
- 34:50Speaker 2: or like the most important panels or whatever, and they'll
- 34:52Speaker 2: color that specifically and you just get an entirely different
- 34:57Speaker 2: feeling from it when it's colored. So uh, that may.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Be something I have to do. I have all these
- 35:03Speaker 3: del pens and everything put them to.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Use, so yeah, I think it's it's very very fun
- 35:11Speaker 2: when when people get creative like that. So so yeah,
- 35:15Speaker 2: really looking excited looking forward to this. Of course. I
- 35:18Speaker 2: love manga, always have Uh. I've enjoyed the High Republic.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Uh Uh.
- 35:28Speaker 3: Manga is the path of oh my gosh.
- 35:34Speaker 2: I can't remember path. Yeah, yes, the the Edge Edge Balance, uh, mangos.
- 35:41Speaker 2: I've really really enjoyed those, so I think I will
- 35:45Speaker 2: enjoy this one as well.
- 35:47Speaker 3: And I think that's the benefit of what the High
- 35:49Speaker 3: Republic Publishing Initiative has tried to do, is it's bringing
- 35:53Speaker 3: in new authors and new opportunities for Star Wars to
- 35:58Speaker 3: expand across different areas of media, because I mean, there
- 36:02Speaker 3: was not a manga before this that wasn't an adapt
- 36:07Speaker 3: There was not any original mangas. There was only adaptations,
- 36:12Speaker 3: and so proving that Star Wars could thrive with original
- 36:16Speaker 3: stories telling in manga format was something that the Higher
- 36:19Speaker 3: Republic really did a great job at. So I'm excited
- 36:22Speaker 3: to see where this takes us, especially into the sequel trilogy.
- 36:26Speaker 3: I love we're getting sequel trilogy stories.
- 36:29Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, I think that is very very neat,
- 36:35Speaker 2: and especially in a place where we haven't really explored that.
- 36:41Speaker 2: Of course, these the Marvel comics are of course kind
- 36:45Speaker 2: of making their way there, but to be able to
- 36:49Speaker 2: get smack dab in the middle of it and really
- 36:51Speaker 2: kind of just like have fun with it, I think
- 36:53Speaker 2: that's a I think that's very very neat, so yeah,
- 36:58Speaker 2: really excited about it. The next news, it has been
- 37:04Speaker 2: a while, but season the rest of season two of
- 37:11Speaker 2: the Young General Adventures is coming in March, so just
- 37:18Speaker 2: next month we can expect that bottom half of season
- 37:25Speaker 2: two to reach Disney. Plus, of course, these always drop
- 37:28Speaker 2: all at once, and it's been a while, so I
- 37:31Speaker 2: think what me and Amber Lynn will end up doing
- 37:35Speaker 2: is just sitting there and binging the entire season, watching
- 37:38Speaker 2: it all over again.
- 37:40Speaker 3: For that's probably what I will end up doing to
- 37:44Speaker 3: Mara isn't at that stage where she can watch it
- 37:47Speaker 3: with me, but who knows, Maybe you'll watch a couple
- 37:52Speaker 3: I don't know. And we're about to jump into our
- 37:56Speaker 3: third ad y'all. We promise we'll be right back, we promise,
- 38:02Speaker 3: So I think from there. The final piece of news
- 38:07Speaker 3: that we have actually came out today and Brandom House
- 38:11Speaker 3: Worlds is blessing us with another title that we actually
- 38:14Speaker 3: got a preview of again with those early listings. It
- 38:20Speaker 3: is a book for the bad Batch fans and it
- 38:25Speaker 3: will be releasing August fifth of this year, and this
- 38:30Speaker 3: novel is set during the events of season two of
- 38:32Speaker 3: the series and follows the team as they try to
- 38:35Speaker 3: rebuild their island refuge Pabu, after a devastating tsunami. This
- 38:41Speaker 3: book features Omega, Hunter, Wrecker, and of course tech So
- 38:51Speaker 3: and it is written by Lamar Giles. That's very important.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Yes, written by Lamar Gyles. I love this cover for
- 39:00Speaker 2: this book. I truly hope this is the final cover.
- 39:07Speaker 3: It looks like it.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I was gonna say, especially with it making
- 39:15Speaker 2: the announcement that it's going to release in August, I
- 39:17Speaker 2: don't think this will be like a, hey, this is
- 39:21Speaker 2: kind of just fun art that we're making for this announcement.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Final cover will be upon release, Like I don't. I
- 39:26Speaker 2: don't get that feeling whatsoever. But this is amazing, Like
- 39:32Speaker 2: the fact that we thought we were all done with
- 39:35Speaker 2: the bad batch and then getting the announcement of the
- 39:39Speaker 2: comic and people being able to read that I think
- 39:41Speaker 2: was really really cool and a great idea and they're like,
- 39:44Speaker 2: oh wait, but there's more and more we get this novel.
- 39:49Speaker 2: I think that's gonna be absolutely amazing. Now. I will
- 39:54Speaker 2: only accept this novel if, and only if let me
- 40:02Speaker 2: actually get the proper name for this If de Bradley
- 40:14Speaker 2: Baker is the narrator.
- 40:17Speaker 3: Ooh, that could be fun. Omega's actress could also be
- 40:22Speaker 3: a good one, but de Bradley Baker is probably more
- 40:24Speaker 3: likely to do it.
- 40:26Speaker 2: I think that he probably would be more willing to
- 40:28Speaker 2: do it. Michelle Aang being Omega's voice actress, I see,
- 40:38Speaker 2: and that's the thing that I would want to know.
- 40:40Speaker 2: So of course it says here in this little excerpt. Uh,
- 40:45Speaker 2: it has of course, like just on the cover, it
- 40:48Speaker 2: shows Omega, it shows tech shows, Hunter shows record doesn't
- 40:54Speaker 2: really give us anything as far as like from whose
- 40:58Speaker 2: perspective it is or anything else like that. Yeah, so
- 41:03Speaker 2: you could really do whatever. If it was an Omega
- 41:06Speaker 2: story and she was the one narrating the story, I
- 41:10Speaker 2: think that would be fun too. So I think either
- 41:13Speaker 2: way would would really really work.
- 41:15Speaker 3: So oh, on the note of narrators, I just want
- 41:20Speaker 3: to shout out Random House World for picking January Loveoi
- 41:25Speaker 3: to narrate mask A Fear. I think getting her vocal
- 41:32Speaker 3: area for mon Mathma in particular, it's gonna be super important.
- 41:37Speaker 3: Everybody loves Mark Thompson. I love Mark Thompson, but picking
- 41:41Speaker 3: January love Boy for this book I think is super important.
- 41:44Speaker 3: So BRAVA way to go. I just wanted to say that, yes,
- 41:50Speaker 3: it's absolutely true, and we've we've vocalized it more often
- 41:56Speaker 3: than not.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Like I am a really big fan of Thompson. He is.
- 42:04Speaker 2: I believe he is quite possibly the person that people
- 42:08Speaker 2: think of when it comes to Star Wars narration. Yeah,
- 42:11Speaker 2: but like to get more voices out there with these books,
- 42:17Speaker 2: I think is very very important, And we've always had
- 42:22Speaker 2: an issue when a male tries to imitate female voices
- 42:28Speaker 2: when it like.
- 42:30Speaker 3: Like they just never get the range.
- 42:33Speaker 2: They can never get the range. Like the one that
- 42:34Speaker 2: bothered me the most, I think, oh, what was it?
- 42:39Speaker 2: Because I do believe correct me if I'm wrong. Princess
- 42:43Speaker 2: and the Scoundrel actually had two different.
- 42:46Speaker 3: Yes, I think they had Saskia and and Thompson.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Yeah, so that one they actually did right. Whereas when
- 42:56Speaker 2: it's solely just a male rader and then there's a
- 43:01Speaker 2: female character, it just always it always like you can
- 43:05Speaker 2: tell like they're acting. It's yeah, you're not immersed into
- 43:09Speaker 2: the story. At that point you're like, this is okay.
- 43:12Speaker 3: I'm really proud of myself. I got that right. Soskia
- 43:15Speaker 3: Marlovid and Mark Thompson I totally butchered her last name,
- 43:19Speaker 3: but I love she does really great things with narration.
- 43:24Speaker 2: So yeah, so uh really really glad that Lavoy is
- 43:30Speaker 2: going to be front and center with Mask of Fear, especially,
- 43:35Speaker 2: like you said, with man MafA being the spearhead of
- 43:41Speaker 2: this novel. I think it is a great choice. Yeah,
- 43:46Speaker 2: but I think that's it.
- 43:48Speaker 3: That is somehow we summarize a bunch of news forty
- 43:52Speaker 3: five minutes. I'm very impressed with ourselves.
- 43:56Speaker 2: I am very impressed with us as well. I know
- 43:59Speaker 2: that we've had fairly short episodes as of late, and
- 44:03Speaker 2: this one is going to be a decently sized one.
- 44:07Speaker 2: So next topic, of course is Star Wars The High
- 44:12Speaker 2: Republic Adventures Volume two of Phase three. Something that everybody
- 44:18Speaker 2: needs to remember when you're searching up this book, do
- 44:21Speaker 2: not say High Republic Adventures Volume two because there's three
- 44:27Speaker 2: of them. It's not great. Yeah, it actually took me
- 44:34Speaker 2: a while to grab this book. I am really contemplating
- 44:40Speaker 2: canceling Amazon after so many packages have been delayed, and
- 44:46Speaker 2: the promises of overnight shipping and then it being two
- 44:50Speaker 2: day shipping and then it being into four day shipping.
- 44:52Speaker 2: It's not great. Unfortunately, I can't cancel Amazon Prime. First
- 44:57Speaker 2: world problems because Invincible comes out in like a day
- 45:01Speaker 2: and I still love Uh. Anyway, Katie, what did you
- 45:10Speaker 2: know about this volume?
- 45:14Speaker 3: So I loved it. I have issues, I will say, okay,
- 45:20Speaker 3: but I loved it. I love Zeeing, I love Lula.
- 45:27Speaker 3: They're just so cute together. They're so adorable. I think
- 45:31Speaker 3: it's what issues seven where they're like proposing to each other.
- 45:36Speaker 2: I think it might even be uh, this is yeah,
- 45:41Speaker 2: this is six through ten. I believe it is this
- 45:45Speaker 2: second issue. I believe it is actually one of the
- 45:50Speaker 2: longer issues of the four or of the five. Yeah,
- 45:56Speaker 2: it's the very end of the second issue.
- 46:00Speaker 3: Okay, either way, I thought that was adorable how they
- 46:05Speaker 3: were both like, oh, they don't really have a culture, Like, yes,
- 46:08Speaker 3: Lu lose from Naboo, but is she really from Naboo?
- 46:12Speaker 3: And Zine is from a cult where they don't really
- 46:15Speaker 3: have a lot of customs, but like we re fell
- 46:18Speaker 3: in love on Ariadu and this is the Eriadu custom.
- 46:23Speaker 3: I just that's like.
- 46:26Speaker 2: It was, Yes, it was fun. I really enjoyed it. Again,
- 46:34Speaker 2: these adventure stories are targeted more towards a younger audience,
- 46:40Speaker 2: which I am totally fine with. We have absolutely been
- 46:44Speaker 2: loving every single story that comes out of these.
- 46:47Speaker 3: YEP.
- 46:49Speaker 2: I did find there to be a little cheese with it,
- 46:52Speaker 2: and I think that's fine. To a point. I was
- 46:56Speaker 2: hoping that it would last a little longer because there's
- 47:00Speaker 2: a moment in the story we're both Zene and uh
- 47:08Speaker 2: uh Lula. They they both come to the cockpit of
- 47:14Speaker 2: the ship basically saying the exact same thing, like, Oh,
- 47:18Speaker 2: I'm madly in love and I want to propose that.
- 47:22Speaker 2: And it's fun because the other two are like, oh,
- 47:26Speaker 2: and you're not sure if she'll say yes, like kind
- 47:28Speaker 2: of just like playing off and it's so funny. It's
- 47:32Speaker 2: so silly, and I do love that. But like they're
- 47:36Speaker 2: right there right they're like, oh, how do how are
- 47:39Speaker 2: they going to go through all of this chaos of
- 47:41Speaker 2: what's going on with the Nihill and the occlusion zone
- 47:45Speaker 2: and all this other stuff while also trying to plan
- 47:48Speaker 2: a proposal and like do all these other things. Like
- 47:53Speaker 2: I wanted it to kind of last a little longer
- 47:58Speaker 2: with that, Like I want to there to be more
- 48:02Speaker 2: because I will say this first issue of this was
- 48:07Speaker 2: a kind of I wouldn't say blow issue, but it
- 48:13Speaker 2: had almost nothing to do with the plot, Like it
- 48:16Speaker 2: was just like, hey, we're here and look, there's there's
- 48:21Speaker 2: there's our old ship. We'll go we'll go scare them off.
- 48:25Speaker 2: All right, let's go play again. And it's like, oh, okay, yeah,
- 48:30Speaker 2: let's let's do that, I guess, and and it just
- 48:33Speaker 2: gets you kind of it kind of gets you going
- 48:36Speaker 2: for this volume, which I am not saying is a
- 48:41Speaker 2: bad thing, right, but going from what we did see,
- 48:47Speaker 2: and I think that's more of the qualm that I have.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Volume one ended on a little bit of a cliffhanger,
- 48:56Speaker 2: and this should.
- 48:57Speaker 3: Be our final ad break. So y'all, thanks for bearing
- 49:01Speaker 3: with us. We appreciate y'all. We'll be right back.
- 49:05Speaker 2: We know that uh is it Lulu or Lula?
- 49:13Speaker 3: I go back and forth, Lula Lula.
- 49:16Speaker 2: Okay, we know that Lula lost.
- 49:19Speaker 3: Your memory, has not gained all of the.
- 49:22Speaker 2: Back, has not gained it all back. But it was
- 49:26Speaker 2: insinuated at the end of volume one that she remembers
- 49:29Speaker 2: doing something absolutely horrible and it was killing somebody on
- 49:35Speaker 2: the shores of freaking um where to start, Like we
- 49:44Speaker 2: can uh fall uh Iram or Eric Iron on the
- 49:50Speaker 2: shores of Iron and like then you just see her
- 49:55Speaker 2: throwing away all of her like Jedi garbs onto the bonfire,
- 49:59Speaker 2: and it's like the supposed to be this like ceremonial
- 50:01Speaker 2: like releasing of all of that stuff. I'm like, okay,
- 50:06Speaker 2: but that hangs on you, right, that's gotta that's gotta
- 50:08Speaker 2: leave some sort of like mark on you, right, I
- 50:12Speaker 2: think at all in this volume whatsoever?
- 50:15Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think here's here's where I have an
- 50:20Speaker 3: issue with. I think how many one shots that they've
- 50:22Speaker 3: chosen to do. I think potentially some of that could
- 50:27Speaker 3: be in the one shots, like Crash and her crew
- 50:31Speaker 3: show up on Iriatu, but like in the front of
- 50:34Speaker 3: the issue they're on Karelia, or in the front of
- 50:38Speaker 3: the tree they're on Karelia, but then they naturally show
- 50:41Speaker 3: up on Ariadu, and it's like, Okay, I know there's
- 50:45Speaker 3: like the Crash adventures in here, but also like could
- 50:49Speaker 3: we get like, hey, how did we get here? Kind
- 50:52Speaker 3: of thing?
- 50:53Speaker 2: There was a lot of jumping around in this volume. Yeah,
- 50:57Speaker 2: there was a lot of time skips a little bit.
- 51:00Speaker 3: Yeah. The other thing that I had an issue with,
- 51:04Speaker 3: uh was severn token. Okay, it took me until she
- 51:11Speaker 3: explained it, and I don't know if that was the point.
- 51:14Speaker 3: It took me until she explained it to figure out
- 51:18Speaker 3: who she exactly was and why she was like hanging
- 51:23Speaker 3: around with the Jedi so much, because it was like
- 51:27Speaker 3: and I also playing the game with them, like who
- 51:30Speaker 3: are you?
- 51:31Speaker 2: And that's the thing that I need to look back
- 51:33Speaker 2: on in the sense of where was she introduced, because
- 51:38Speaker 2: I don't remember Severin and any other story. Now that
- 51:42Speaker 2: may just be us clearly not remembering her importance of
- 51:47Speaker 2: one novel or whatever it said.
- 51:50Speaker 3: So her explanation was that she was with the prisoners
- 51:55Speaker 3: that Lula and Zine rescued.
- 51:59Speaker 2: Okay, so she was not seen That's what I'm thinking
- 52:06Speaker 2: in volume one. But now she is here. Yeah, yeah,
- 52:10Speaker 2: if that's the case, and I can see it being
- 52:15Speaker 2: like oh but like bam, here's the surprise. I'm actually
- 52:20Speaker 2: a part of this important family blah blah blah blah
- 52:22Speaker 2: blah blah blah. Doesn't really work all that well. I
- 52:32Speaker 2: I get the cliffhanger, because even with this cliffhanger, what
- 52:35Speaker 2: ends up happening is she gets to take the spot
- 52:39Speaker 2: of her uncle and her uncle business. Yeah he her
- 52:46Speaker 2: uncle is playing a lot of like dirty politics and
- 52:49Speaker 2: like oh, well, technically, due to the fact that my
- 52:52Speaker 2: body was not found during Starlight Beacon's you know fall,
- 52:58Speaker 2: they declared me permanently dead.
- 53:00Speaker 3: The dumbest thing ever.
- 53:02Speaker 2: It was a little silly, and but it's unfortunately, I
- 53:08Speaker 2: feel like something that you would actually see in real
- 53:11Speaker 2: life American politics unfortunately is like oh and he even
- 53:16Speaker 2: says it. Her uncle even says it. He talks to
- 53:18Speaker 2: an advisor. He's like, oh, has so and so actually
- 53:22Speaker 2: been confirmed, like like she's literally talking to him face
- 53:26Speaker 2: to face, and he's like, have we actually.
- 53:31Speaker 3: Like taken her death certificate away?
- 53:33Speaker 2: Like yeah, have we actually taken this into consideration and
- 53:37Speaker 2: made an investigation of this at all? And they're like nope,
- 53:40Speaker 2: it's the investigation is not complete. He's like, well, access denied,
- 53:45Speaker 2: peace out, and this man, her uncle, really was able
- 53:52Speaker 2: to take control of the family business all because of
- 53:56Speaker 2: like some ceremonial bull crap of I I do. But
- 54:05Speaker 2: it's just like this idea of like, oh, we you know,
- 54:11Speaker 2: we kill this this beast and we take pride in that,
- 54:15Speaker 2: and that's how I'm the family man. And then you know,
- 54:22Speaker 2: we see several like actually befriend one of these beasts,
- 54:28Speaker 2: which I kind of saw coming, but I thought was
- 54:30Speaker 2: really fun, especially when she like goes into the city
- 54:38Speaker 2: and it's just like, hey, look at I gain with.
- 54:41Speaker 3: It being a kid's book, like us as adult readers
- 54:45Speaker 3: are going to see stuff coming, and I say kids book,
- 54:47Speaker 3: they're all ages, but it's geared towards the younger audience,
- 54:51Speaker 3: so we're gonna see things coming. But it's still fun
- 54:54Speaker 3: to like see that happen. Like I did enjoy her
- 54:57Speaker 3: character once I figured out who she was, Yeah, but
- 55:00Speaker 3: like seeing her because she's wearing like this mask in
- 55:05Speaker 3: the in the sixth issue and it's like, Okay, who
- 55:09Speaker 3: is she because I don't recognize her as the Jedi,
- 55:12Speaker 3: and so trying to figure that out and then going
- 55:14Speaker 3: into the city and then learning like, oh, yeah, technically
- 55:18Speaker 3: I was dead because I was kidnapped on Starlight Beacon
- 55:21Speaker 3: and put in jail and nobody found me. And so
- 55:25Speaker 3: once that happened and started to make a little more sense,
- 55:29Speaker 3: but I was definitely I definitely spent a little bit
- 55:32Speaker 3: going who the heck is she?
- 55:34Speaker 2: And then we also get a return of Master Oh shoot,
- 55:44Speaker 2: what is his name again?
- 55:45Speaker 3: You can't obside of Blood Master Emeric? Yes, oh, yes,
- 55:52Speaker 3: I forgot about Emrek. Yeah, and he is in the
- 55:58Speaker 3: inclusion zone Star Wars and Finsuer one, so I'm excited
- 56:00Speaker 3: to see that. I just love him. I love the
- 56:05Speaker 3: idea of a Star Wars mystery, and I think he's
- 56:09Speaker 3: inn Echoes of Fear as well.
- 56:11Speaker 2: But I believe he is, yeah.
- 56:14Speaker 3: Because he's helping brief like track down the nameless origins
- 56:17Speaker 3: and stuff.
- 56:18Speaker 2: Yeah, so really fun seeing him, and overall I think
- 56:24Speaker 2: it was it was a fun book. Like I said,
- 56:27Speaker 2: I do have those small little qualms that the time
- 56:31Speaker 2: skipping didn't really help a lot of exposition, and it
- 56:37Speaker 2: kind of just threw you into like random conversations. You're like, Okay, wait,
- 56:40Speaker 2: we were just doing this. What happened between that time?
- 56:43Speaker 2: What's going on? And then the overall I feel progression
- 56:50Speaker 2: of Lula. I think that there is a massive story there,
- 56:56Speaker 2: and I hope that by the end, and when I
- 57:01Speaker 2: say by the end, I mean the end of Lula's story,
- 57:07Speaker 2: that we do get some of that. Yeah, And I
- 57:10Speaker 2: and I word it in the way of saying the
- 57:13Speaker 2: end of Lula's story because I really do hope that
- 57:17Speaker 2: the Trials of the Jedi is not the forever end
- 57:22Speaker 2: of the High Republic, right, the novels can stop for
- 57:25Speaker 2: a while, but we still get comics. I think that
- 57:27Speaker 2: would be great, so that way we can get these
- 57:29Speaker 2: stories and everything else.
- 57:31Speaker 3: I don't know if we'll the comics will continue, like
- 57:37Speaker 3: we know Justina Ireland's done after The Way Seeker and
- 57:41Speaker 3: Valiant Valve publish Minus Her Mace Windu graphic novel with
- 57:46Speaker 3: Our Course. But like these authors have spent a ton
- 57:52Speaker 3: of time in Star Wars, and I love getting to
- 57:55Speaker 3: see their other things.
- 57:56Speaker 2: Like I just.
- 57:58Speaker 3: Dove into Charles Endless Vessel novel and that one is
- 58:02Speaker 3: really good as far as I've read into it. So
- 58:06Speaker 3: getting to see their other books is always fun. And
- 58:10Speaker 3: I know, like when I spend too much time on
- 58:13Speaker 3: one problem at work, I need to take a break
- 58:15Speaker 3: in order to reinvigorate some creativity and allow me to
- 58:21Speaker 3: come back and approach it with a different set of eyes.
- 58:26Speaker 3: So I feel like it's the same way. Like Charles
- 58:30Speaker 3: Soul may not be done with Star Wars, but he's
- 58:32Speaker 3: also been able to explore other areas of Star Wars
- 58:36Speaker 3: versus just the Higher Republic. But Daniel, who's the older,
- 58:40Speaker 3: has been stuck in the Higher Republic. Justina has been
- 58:46Speaker 3: stuck in the Higher Republic. So hopefully they don't hate
- 58:50Speaker 3: Star Wars forever and come back because they do tell
- 58:53Speaker 3: really awesome stories. But yeah, I know they want to
- 58:58Speaker 3: be able to tell their stories too.
- 59:00Speaker 2: So yeah, and and I think that all of these
- 59:03Speaker 2: people deserve a break the the amount of pressure that
- 59:12Speaker 2: they were also in to stay on schedule, to stay
- 59:16Speaker 2: on a timeline. It's a lot of work with with
- 59:21Speaker 2: being in the comic book industry on that back end,
- 59:25Speaker 2: to actually see a schedule of these books and the
- 59:28Speaker 2: turnaround for it, I can see it being like, holy crap. Okay, yeah,
- 59:33Speaker 2: this is something that is very much a stressful situation sometimes.
- 59:39Speaker 2: So we'll see. We'll see how all of that goes. Currently,
- 59:45Speaker 2: if I remember correctly, Star Wars Adventures, uh, Star Wars
- 59:50Speaker 2: The High Republic Adventures sorry, Phase three is currently on
- 59:58Speaker 2: issue number FOURT I don't entirely know how long this
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: will go. If do you know, I will be.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: The Marvel one I know is capping at volume three.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: I think The High Republican Adventures is capping at sixteen,
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: issue sixteen.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: I want to.
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: Say, because a list of Wong is writing the Battle
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: of Ariatu and that's going to show up in her
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: in their Crash Adventures trade, I want to say, and
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: that will have the other two uh one shots that
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: they have done for the High Republican Adventures. So got
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: Echoes of Fear. We've got volume three. I think that'll
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: cap everything else, I want to say, so which I'm hoping.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: I'm hoping we will be able to have everything High
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: Republic wrapped up by the end of July for our
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: review stuff, guys. Just with and Or being April, that's
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: gonna take us to the end of June. We may
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: have some additional episodes for like the big book reviews
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: and stuff, but most of or, I say, most of
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: all of May and June will be.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: And Or and yeah, and and guys, we've we've always
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: said that there is plenty of content out there for us.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: We have some things kind of in the in the
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: background and in the back burner just in case, uh
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: something happens to the point of like, hey, you know,
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: we're not going to cover this, so let's cover this
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: type of thing. There is a plethora of Legends content
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: to cover as well that we are looking into. So
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: don't you guys ever get worried that we won't have
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: something to talk about. Oh no, it should never be
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: a problem. But with that, guys, I want to thank
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: you guys so much for being here. We have officially
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: made it past one hour, the first time we've done that,
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: and I think theost the month. So thank you guys
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: so much. Of course, you can always find me over
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: at Blue Sky. That is where I normally talk about
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: anything in everything comics, just because that is of course
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: my day job. Now it's really fun to still say that,
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: so if you like that kind of thing, I will
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: of course be posting things about Star Wars. I will
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: try to go into my geekdom, but it is mainly
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: my job account where I will be posting the monthly
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: catalogs for comics and everything that we do over at
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: my job at Lunar Distribution, So go check that out.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: And then I'm also of course over on Ranger Alliance.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: We have just done our third episode into the new
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: revamp over there, covering the Super Sentai. Me, Joe and
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: Jake are having a lot of fun doing that, and
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: I'm actually gonna be hopefully posting four new episodes over
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: on the Patreon this weekend that we have already recorded
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: and everything is done except for the editing. So that's
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: why I'm hoping that it does get posted this weekend.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: And uh yeah, it's gonna It's gonna be a lot
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: of fun. We're doing the animated series The The the
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: anime Sorry over at crunchy roll, and a brand new
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: series of Super SINSI is coming out at the end
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: of February, which we will be covering. So it's gonna
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: be a lot of fun. But Katie, what about you?
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: Very nice guys, y'all. You can find me on most
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: social media platforms. It is at slay Katie. Again. I'm
