- 0:19Speaker 1: It is time believe your worries outside and laugh with
- 0:24Speaker 1: us inside the treehouse. I'm Dan, O'Malley along with Trey Trenholm,
- 0:29Speaker 1: Raj Sharma, and Jerry called well, today is Fray Day,
- 0:35Speaker 1: June sixth, twenty twenty five. We are a tree house divided. Today.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Trey and Jerry have worn their black shirts, while Raj
- 0:45Speaker 1: and I have decided to go for the white look.
- 0:50Speaker 1: So we're ready for our diddy party. But Trey and
- 0:53Speaker 1: Jerry are mourning the fact they never got invited.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I'm good, yeah, I think honestly, we're all better off.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Welcome inside the treehouse at the end of the week,
- 1:05Speaker 1: hopefully not the end of your rope, and if you
- 1:08Speaker 1: are well, just sent it up just a hair. We'll
- 1:10Speaker 1: make it better. And we're going to make this day
- 1:13Speaker 1: better for you, whether it was good or bad, whether
- 1:16Speaker 1: the week was good or bad, by starting with something
- 1:19Speaker 1: truly celebratory. Sorry, just knowing what Raja's reaction is going
- 1:30Speaker 1: to be has me already happy.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Ah.
- 1:35Speaker 1: San Antonio is known for the Alamo and a number
- 1:38Speaker 1: of other things, but today it's known for drunk seventh graders.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Was unexpected, But here we are, I think less unexpected
- 1:50Speaker 2: now than in the past. But yes, yeah.
- 1:53Speaker 1: What was meant to be an end of the year
- 1:56Speaker 1: treat turned into a serious mistake at a San Antonio
- 1:59Speaker 1: middle school after a teacher unknowingly handed out alcoholic beverages
- 2:05Speaker 1: to her students. Northside Independent School District confirms a special
- 2:11Speaker 1: ed teacher, Oh no, yes, at Peace Middle School brought
- 2:22Speaker 1: seven cans of hard mountain dew Baha blast that's an
- 2:27Speaker 1: alcoholic drink with five percent alcohol content, and distributed them
- 2:32Speaker 1: to students in three different classes during a celebration on
- 2:36Speaker 1: the last day of school. And I'll be honest with you,
- 2:39Speaker 1: what last day of school celebration is complete without a
- 2:44Speaker 1: hard mountain dew Baja blast. In other news, and this
- 2:48Speaker 1: is new to me, Mountain dew Baja blast now comes
- 2:52Speaker 1: with booze. My Friday is made, My weekend is made.
- 2:58Speaker 1: My week is made. It's at the beginning of June.
- 3:01Speaker 1: The whole month is made. My wife's birthday is Sunday,
- 3:05Speaker 1: and I know what I'm gonna get her for her
- 3:07Speaker 1: birthday slash my fun day. Oh yeah, boozy mountain dew.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Oh yeah, five percent booze, double the caffeine. What could
- 3:17Speaker 3: go wrong?
- 3:19Speaker 4: Oh?
- 3:21Speaker 1: Look four Loco had for Loco had his moment in
- 3:24Speaker 1: the sun. But now yeah, hard Mountain Dew is getting
- 3:28Speaker 1: its time.
- 3:29Speaker 3: And I like how they're both like Mexican themed, like
- 3:33Speaker 3: poor Loco Bob last in San Antonio. Come on, guys, like,
- 3:37Speaker 3: what are we doing? Just a giant stereotype at this point?
- 3:43Speaker 1: Oh god, this is fantastic. Five students consumed the drinks,
- 3:47Speaker 1: including a seventh grader with asthma, who who later became
- 3:51Speaker 1: drowsy and confused. His dad, Aaron, says he wasn't notified
- 3:56Speaker 1: until four fifteen in the afternoon, hours after the incident
- 4:00Speaker 1: occurred during third period. The dad said, we couldn't believe it.
- 4:04Speaker 1: We were like, what the hell? I asked, since when
- 4:08Speaker 1: did Mountain Dew start selling booze with the Baja blast?
- 4:11Speaker 1: Just kidding us, know what? He said? He was still
- 4:13Speaker 1: he was still incredulous about it. He said, what time
- 4:17Speaker 1: did this start? They said between ten thirty and eleven,
- 4:21Speaker 1: And he said, that was really confusing to me. Why
- 4:24Speaker 1: wait so long to call? Waiting?
- 4:29Speaker 2: The dad says, oun what waiting for the kiddos to
- 4:32Speaker 2: sober up?
- 4:33Speaker 3: Yeah, couldn't remember his number, that's right.
- 4:37Speaker 1: The dad says his son drank nearly half of a
- 4:40Speaker 1: yellow pineapple flavored can, unaware it was alcoholic. He believes
- 4:45Speaker 1: a combination of the beverage and cough medicine taken earlier
- 4:48Speaker 1: in the day contributed to his son.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Simptons, this kid, excellence, kid excellent, did scissor.
- 4:55Speaker 4: To do.
- 4:56Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but that's a good last day of school
- 5:00Speaker 1: or life. I mean, hell, my last day is seventh grade.
- 5:06Speaker 1: We went to Arby's to get the five for five deal.
- 5:09Speaker 1: This kid got you know, five percent alcohol.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Well, in my last day of school, we just watched
- 5:14Speaker 2: Where the Red Fern Grows. Wow, old Yeller, Good God.
- 5:19Speaker 3: That's the saddest name of school it is. We had
- 5:24Speaker 3: like shaving cream fights like that was that was fun.
- 5:27Speaker 3: We did that, but nobody got Nobody got sauce and
- 5:30Speaker 3: did it well, at least not the kids, especially the
- 5:35Speaker 3: special lead kids. We don't want them all boozy and
- 5:41Speaker 3: running about.
- 5:42Speaker 1: We don't need him drunk and hopped up on caffeine.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Oh man. The dad did say that his son told
- 5:49Speaker 1: him it tasted a little different, but he doesn't drink
- 5:52Speaker 1: soda often, so he didn't think much of it. He
- 5:54Speaker 1: also doesn't drink five percent alcohol by volume off and so.
- 5:58Speaker 3: The son did say it tastes a lot like your coffee.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Dad, I really am excited to go to the store
- 6:07Speaker 1: today to go find some hard mountain dew Baja Blast.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Oh my god, who sells it? I've never seen angels.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Angels sell that. I realized it's it's got to be
- 6:25Speaker 1: difficult for Trey because here I am putting alcohol on
- 6:29Speaker 1: a pedestal. But but it's Baja Blast with booze.
- 6:35Speaker 5: I would I'll be most curious to hear your review
- 6:39Speaker 5: of it after about four of them.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Yeah, after I'm.
- 6:44Speaker 1: About twenty percent hard mountain Dew Baja Blast, that's when
- 6:48Speaker 1: I'll That's when I'll let you know what I think.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I just want to boozed up, caffeined out Dan
- 6:54Speaker 3: to do the next show.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's all we need.
- 6:57Speaker 6: I feel like bust out, bust out the helmet for
- 6:59Speaker 6: Dan Man.
- 7:02Speaker 3: He's taking show notes with the big pencil.
- 7:06Speaker 1: For the record, I've done both those things would not
- 7:10Speaker 1: be groundbreaking, would not be a first.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Yeah, it'll be a first for me to witness. I
- 7:17Speaker 3: think that would be.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 3: I don't know where you where you find the Baha
- 7:24Speaker 3: Blast hard mountain Dew.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I don't know where that I'm just going to do.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I don't know where that would be.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Sold the Google near Me search.
- 7:33Speaker 2: It's either going to be a.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:36Speaker 2: I was about to say, my tom thumb usually has
- 7:37Speaker 2: that cool stuff like that?
- 7:40Speaker 1: Is it is a cool jake? Have you had like
- 7:44Speaker 1: just regular baha blast?
- 7:47Speaker 5: There's no there's even a variety pack of mountain dew.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Harts Seltzer's God, I just got hard hearing that.
- 7:58Speaker 3: And he didn't mean hard of hearing, No, he did not.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Wow. I mean we know that pineapple is one flavor
- 8:06Speaker 1: because that's what the seventh grader got.
- 8:09Speaker 5: Yeah, well, yeah, it's a baha blast bahah blast pineapple. Uh,
- 8:16Speaker 5: it's like punch and lingo.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Is there a hard Mountain dewke code red?
- 8:22Speaker 4: Oh?
- 8:22Speaker 6: Please, God, don't see that.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Just so you guys know, if I ever die from
- 8:30Speaker 1: alcohol poisoning, it's going to be because Mountain Dew came
- 8:36Speaker 1: out with a hard mountain dew code red.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Man, you're just going for the triumvirate.
- 8:43Speaker 4: There.
- 8:43Speaker 2: You got the you got the alcohol, you got the
- 8:46Speaker 2: extra caffeine, and you got all that red dye.

- 10:44Speaker 1: Malley along with Trey Trenholm, Raj Sharma and Jerry Caldwell,
- 10:49Speaker 1: and it is Friday, and I'm excited for this because
- 10:57Speaker 1: we spend a fair amount of time on the show
- 11:00Speaker 1: bagging on gen Z and if we're being honest, they've
- 11:02Speaker 1: deserved most of it. It's their own fault. Now, keeping
- 11:07Speaker 1: in mind, we don't do that because we're all Gen
- 11:09Speaker 1: xers in here, me, Trey, Raj, Jerry, all hardcore gen
- 11:13Speaker 1: X right. We don't do that just because we're insecure
- 11:17Speaker 1: and trying to make ourselves feel better. It's because we
- 11:19Speaker 1: truly believe, We truly feel that we as Generation X
- 11:24Speaker 1: are the greatest generation currently going. And now we have
- 11:29Speaker 1: research to prove it. Ooh okay, yeah. According to new research,
- 11:37Speaker 1: Generation X is the coolest generation, and we're also the happiest.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Well, I mean, the first one I can agree with.
- 11:48Speaker 2: We're the happiest then, holy crap.
- 11:52Speaker 6: Yeah yeah.
- 11:55Speaker 1: A recent you gov survey ranked the nineteen eighties and
- 11:58Speaker 1: the nineteen nineties as the periods with the highest quality
- 12:01Speaker 1: of life, the eras that significantly shaped gen X. The
- 12:07Speaker 1: article suggests a reassessment of Gen X, often dubbed the
- 12:10Speaker 1: forgotten generation, positioning us as the coolest and potentially the happiest.
- 12:18Speaker 1: The piece draws comparison between gen X and younger generations
- 12:21Speaker 1: like Millennials and then Gen Z, highlighting differences in behavior,
- 12:25Speaker 1: anxiety levels, and substance use. Gen x's experience from the
- 12:29Speaker 1: Cold War to the Digital Revolution are presented as providing
- 12:33Speaker 1: a unique perspective on current events, resonating with broader audiences,
- 12:38Speaker 1: and they also note that the children of Gen X
- 12:40Speaker 1: are now embracing the music and fashion of their parents' generation,
- 12:44Speaker 1: indicating a renewed cultural interest. I firmly believe the reason
- 12:48Speaker 1: why is because we as Gen X, know how good
- 12:52Speaker 1: we had it. We have an amazing perspective on not
- 12:57Speaker 1: just life, but where we currently are are as a society.
- 13:02Speaker 1: And a big part of that is because we are
- 13:05Speaker 1: familiar with technology, both of the analog era and the
- 13:10Speaker 1: digital we bidge, those two worlds, and because of that,
- 13:15Speaker 1: we know best and we're now handing that over to
- 13:18Speaker 1: our children. And that's why so many things that were
- 13:21Speaker 1: cool when we were young are cool again, because well,
- 13:24Speaker 1: I think we're forcing it on our kids and they're realizing, hey, this,
- 13:29Speaker 1: this eighties and nineties stuff is pretty pretty rad.
- 13:34Speaker 5: I think also, I just I will always say one
- 13:36Speaker 5: of the things that really shaped us is the fact
- 13:39Speaker 5: that not only did we we learned ms DAWs, but
- 13:45Speaker 5: then as technology came about, we had to teach it
- 13:51Speaker 5: to our parents, which was probably the worst thing ever.
- 13:54Speaker 5: I mean, I mean teaching listen here, I'll really age
- 13:59Speaker 5: myself teaching how to use a fax machine.
- 14:03Speaker 1: That was a doozy.
- 14:05Speaker 5: And then you came again, kids, Internet wasn't always just available.
- 14:10Speaker 5: Sometimes you had to dial in and and find the
- 14:13Speaker 5: right number, and it was a process.
- 14:14Speaker 1: And for the record, all of us here, all of
- 14:18Speaker 1: us knew what it was to come of age without
- 14:21Speaker 1: the internet, that's right. So we had to go old school.
- 14:26Speaker 2: That's right J C. Penny's catalog.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Or you had to befriend somebody whose parents had porn,
- 14:33Speaker 3: and I'm both yeah, And when you did that, you
- 14:37Speaker 3: just understood they weren't good people.
- 14:41Speaker 4: You know.
- 14:41Speaker 3: When my buddy's Sonny was like, Hey, my parents have porn,
- 14:44Speaker 3: I'm like, you're thirteen with a neck tattoo.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Of course they do, yes, like that, but that's also
- 14:49Speaker 1: the chance you were willing to take to get your
- 14:51Speaker 1: eyes on some porn.
- 14:52Speaker 3: You're twelve and have a packa day marble red habit. Yes,
- 14:56Speaker 3: your parents have porn.
- 14:58Speaker 1: I believe it speak thing of which that reminds me
- 15:01Speaker 1: of one time when my parents decided to go out
- 15:04Speaker 1: for date night and left my sister in charge to
- 15:07Speaker 1: babysit me. My sister is six and a half years
- 15:09Speaker 1: older than I am. At the time I believe I
- 15:14Speaker 1: was seven, which would make her close to fourteen. Her
- 15:18Speaker 1: boyfriend at the time, I believe was fifteen, and he
- 15:22Speaker 1: and his buddy came over to the house while mom
- 15:24Speaker 1: and dad went out for date night. So my parents,
- 15:29Speaker 1: in their illustrious trust, allowed my sister to babysit me
- 15:33Speaker 1: while they went out. They weren't gone ten minutes, her
- 15:38Speaker 1: boyfriend and his buddy come walking in smoking drinking. That's
- 15:43Speaker 1: the night I had my first sip of Mad Dog
- 15:45Speaker 1: twenty twenty. It's also the first night that I had
- 15:48Speaker 1: a taste of a Marlborough Read. And then after I
- 15:51Speaker 1: tried to Marlborough Read, my sister's boyfriend took a new
- 15:55Speaker 1: Marlborough Read because he let he gave me the first one.
- 15:58Speaker 1: It's very kind of and let me bump one at
- 16:00Speaker 1: seven and he said, here, watch this, I can smoke
- 16:03Speaker 1: this entire cigarette in one inhale. And I thought, my god,
- 16:07Speaker 1: there's no way that's going to be possible, and then.
- 16:09Speaker 4: He did it.
- 16:11Speaker 1: We were born a different breed. And do you still
- 16:14Speaker 1: write to him in prison?
- 16:17Speaker 2: I was about to say the cancer word, but.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Frankly, I don't know where he ended up in life.
- 16:25Speaker 1: That night he ended up in our barbed wire fence
- 16:32Speaker 1: because and I'm not making this up, he thought he
- 16:34Speaker 1: saw Satan in the pasture and wanted to go say.
- 16:37Speaker 6: Hi, that mad dog.
- 16:41Speaker 1: A mad Dog in one Inhale Marlboro Red. But let's
- 16:45Speaker 1: be fair here, he might have seen Satan because he
- 16:49Speaker 1: tried to walk out into a field to go say hi,
- 16:52Speaker 1: to Satan and the only thing that stopped him was
- 16:55Speaker 1: a barbed wire fence that he got himself tangled in.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Maybe it was Satan and that was Satan having a
- 17:00Speaker 1: good time.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Yeah, but I also think that was a combination of
- 17:05Speaker 3: nicotine poisoning and alcohol poisoning. Like everyone sees Satan then.
- 17:14Speaker 1: So yeah, we as gen X, we are a different breed.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Now was it better perspective than everybody else? And we
- 17:20Speaker 1: have lived, we have seen some things and we've done
- 17:23Speaker 1: some things.
- 17:24Speaker 6: And there's the thing that really drives me crazy.
- 17:27Speaker 5: And you know, we've kind of we beat millennials into
- 17:30Speaker 5: submission a long time ago because they were just soft.
- 17:34Speaker 5: But then they were It's like and you listen to them, like, oh,
- 17:37Speaker 5: we had to deal with you know, nine to eleven
- 17:40Speaker 5: and this, and like.
- 17:41Speaker 2: We did tooons.
- 17:44Speaker 5: Yeah, and Iran Contra and you know, I mean Iran hostages,
- 17:48Speaker 5: Iran contra, all sorts of stuff.
- 17:51Speaker 6: It's like, just shut up.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I will say this about them. I will say
- 17:55Speaker 1: this about millennials. They have hardened in recent years.
- 17:58Speaker 5: Yes, I'll never forget. There was a friend of mine,
- 18:01Speaker 5: a millennial and very idealistic when she was younger, and
- 18:08Speaker 5: I said, especially about tens and this and that.
- 18:11Speaker 6: I'm like, oh, yeah, that's fine.
- 18:13Speaker 5: Just wait till you start seeing how much are your
- 18:15Speaker 5: check that they take and then come back to me
- 18:18Speaker 5: in ten years and then tell me about it.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yea, yeah, She's like, you're right.
- 18:23Speaker 5: It was like, yeah, they take a lot. You'll never Yeah,
- 18:28Speaker 5: you don't see the benefits of.
- 18:30Speaker 3: And then like Netflix, you know, and the new shows
- 18:33Speaker 3: that are coming out kind of kind of profile like
- 18:35Speaker 3: our music and our fashion from back in the day,
- 18:38Speaker 3: like I think Stranger Things and got these kids listening
- 18:42Speaker 3: to a little Metallica o that kids normally of this
- 18:46Speaker 3: age would not do, and then that kind of led
- 18:47Speaker 3: into a progression of eighties metal. So yeah, I mean
- 18:52Speaker 3: we can thank them as well. And that's all people
- 18:54Speaker 3: that are you know, gen x, that are working in Netflix,
- 18:57Speaker 3: that are greenlighting these projects like I dig the soundtrack,
- 19:00Speaker 3: let's do it.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Exactly, And I'm fine with that because it makes me happy.
- 19:04Speaker 5: I will say this, I think eighties fashion could just
- 19:07Speaker 5: stay in the eighties.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Come on now, the big stripes.
- 19:12Speaker 1: No, I'm I think I'm with Trey. I was oddly enough,
- 19:15Speaker 1: I was thinking about this last night because I couldn't
- 19:18Speaker 1: like I was having trouble sleeping. And if there's one
- 19:21Speaker 1: piece of fashion that I don't need to see again,
- 19:24Speaker 1: it's the Zubaz pants.
- 19:27Speaker 6: Tight roll jeans.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Also the tight roll jeans.
- 19:32Speaker 3: I mean, I mean, come on, that was kind of iconic.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I have a soft spot in my heart for the
- 19:40Speaker 2: for the roll up jeans.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Us as Generation actually had a great run and then
- 19:47Speaker 1: these two ruined it.

- 20:44Speaker 1: and we have the research to prove it now and
- 20:46Speaker 1: we're very grateful for that and the break though, we
- 20:48Speaker 1: were discussing how well we're supposedly the happiest of the
- 20:51Speaker 1: generations currently going, we've dealt with a lot of loss,
- 20:54Speaker 1: Like some of our favorite people in pop culture have
- 20:57Speaker 1: died really really soon.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Mm hm yeah, like when we you know, we're like
- 21:02Speaker 3: the happiest generation. Yeah, and then you're like, Michael Jackson
- 21:05Speaker 3: dies and you're like, oh, okay, that's tragic, but at
- 21:08Speaker 3: least we still have Prince. And then then Prince dies,
- 21:11Speaker 3: You're like, well, at least we still have George Michael.
- 21:14Speaker 3: And then that same year, George Michael dies. I'm like,
- 21:16Speaker 3: you know what, that's it. We're unhappy now.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Sarah Fawcett, a number of us may have had her
- 21:21Speaker 1: poster on our wall at some point or knew someone
- 21:23Speaker 1: that did. She died of ass cancer. Yeah, on the
- 21:26Speaker 1: same day as Michael.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:28Speaker 1: I know because I was on the radio reporting it,
- 21:31Speaker 1: and I think I even said at that time, I said, man,
- 21:34Speaker 1: you really talk about someone getting rear ended said it
- 21:37Speaker 1: was Sarah Fawcett. Yeah, I saw.
- 21:42Speaker 5: I saw a clip the other day. I'd forgotten just
- 21:44Speaker 5: how sad this was. It was when Jim Henson died
- 21:47Speaker 5: it was a clip of it. Yeah, but then the
- 21:51Speaker 5: first Muppets show after that, and God.
- 21:54Speaker 1: You talk about someone that was integral to our child,
- 21:57Speaker 1: to our child, Oh, Jim Henson.
- 22:00Speaker 3: There's a great cartoon that came out or a little
- 22:03Speaker 3: clipping that came out, and it's Kermit sitting on a
- 22:06Speaker 3: log and it's his back and he's got his banjo
- 22:08Speaker 3: next to his feet, and it's Mickey Mouse hugging him.
- 22:12Speaker 3: And I thought that was kind of.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Suit like, very very pointing. Yeah, that was pretty cool.
- 22:17Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean that's when you found out, like
- 22:18Speaker 3: people still died of pneumonia because you hear people or
- 22:21Speaker 3: the flu, I think is what it was? One of
- 22:23Speaker 3: the two, Like the flu led his pneumonia and he
- 22:25Speaker 3: died from complications of pneumonia, or like.
- 22:27Speaker 6: He just wouldn't he just wouldn't go to the doctor.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Oh, is that what it was.
- 22:31Speaker 5: Yeah, he worked all the time and he didn't take
- 22:33Speaker 5: he was sick and he didn't. Yeah, it was preventable.
- 22:37Speaker 5: It was just one of those things. He waited too late.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Maybe that's why Kerman has that voice. He wasn't just
- 22:42Speaker 3: making a voice. He just had a nose like a
- 22:43Speaker 3: head cold. The whole time go.
- 22:46Speaker 1: To the doctor. I will say this, I feel like
- 22:54Speaker 1: I would be a different human. Yeah, had it not
- 22:58Speaker 1: been for Jim henson influence he had on me growing up,
- 23:03Speaker 1: I mean even as an adult. Like I told you
- 23:04Speaker 1: guys the other day, I started seeing a new therapist.
- 23:07Speaker 1: And my new therapist is the social media account for
- 23:10Speaker 1: Cookie Monster. And I've never been happier. So Jim Henson
- 23:15Speaker 1: may be dead, but his work lives.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I will tell you when Tickle Me Elmo
- 23:20Speaker 3: was all the rage, I got the tickle me cookie Monster,
- 23:24Speaker 3: and that's the most joy I've experienced in a very
- 23:28Speaker 3: long time.
- 23:29Speaker 1: To this day, one of my favorite gifts is Elmo
- 23:33Speaker 1: doing a little potty dance on a toilet.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Everybody's got a cake, man, Everybody's got a cake.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Look when ninety seven to one switched back to the
- 23:44Speaker 1: Eagle eighteen months after they fired me, that was the
- 23:49Speaker 1: gift in my heart was Elmo sitting on the toilet
- 23:51Speaker 1: garf and I send it to Jerry. I mean, really,
- 24:06Speaker 1: Jim Benson had a hell of a hell of an
- 24:08Speaker 1: effect on me as a kid. I think I don't
- 24:11Speaker 1: know what your programming was like on your televisions, when
- 24:14Speaker 1: you were young where you lived. But when I was
- 24:17Speaker 1: living in rural localahom and I'm like five six years old,
- 24:20Speaker 1: there was only like all the good cartoons, all the
- 24:23Speaker 1: good kids programming came on Saturday mornings. Right, Well, there
- 24:27Speaker 1: was one show that came on Sunday that I would
- 24:31Speaker 1: actually try to be awake for, and that was six
- 24:35Speaker 1: am Sunday morning, The Muppet Show. So I don't know
- 24:39Speaker 1: if that's when your Muppet Show aired where you lived, Trey,
- 24:43Speaker 1: Raj or Jerry, but where I lived, the Muppet Show
- 24:45Speaker 1: came on six am Sunday morning, and if I happened
- 24:49Speaker 1: to wake up at five something, I would get up
- 24:51Speaker 1: and then wait for that to come on so I
- 24:53Speaker 1: could see the intro of the Muppet Show and then
- 24:54Speaker 1: the entire show. Interesting, Okay, six am on a Sunday
- 25:00Speaker 1: and a six year old is sitting in the living
- 25:02Speaker 1: room going yay we didn't have DVRs.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Yes, And then seven am The Farm Report.
- 25:10Speaker 1: And then eight am it was Jimmy Houston's Fishing Show,
- 25:13Speaker 1: and then I was back happy against speaking of which,
- 25:17Speaker 1: we're gonna let this be completely random. It's a Friday show,
- 25:19Speaker 1: so who the f cares? Everyone knows who Jimmy Houston is,
- 25:23Speaker 1: the legendary fisherman from TV.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Trey.
- 25:30Speaker 1: You know who he is. He was the guy that
- 25:31Speaker 1: had the big bowl cut blonde hair with the big
- 25:35Speaker 1: black shades. I saw him at the Phillip sixty sixth
- 25:40Speaker 1: station in Arlington on Division and Ballpark way back in
- 25:45Speaker 1: the day.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Wow, did you give him some change?
- 25:54Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 25:55Speaker 1: I helped him fill up.

- 26:58Speaker 1: This is the Treehouse Show. I'm Dan, He's Trade that's Raj.
- 27:01Speaker 1: There is Jerry called well as well. Today is Friday,
- 27:05Speaker 1: June sixth, twenty twenty five. Just a handful of days ago,
- 27:11Speaker 1: there was an alleged Bigfoot sighting. Ooh yes, a father
- 27:17Speaker 1: and son claim they saw Sasquatch, and a National Sasquatch
- 27:23Speaker 1: believing organization shockingly believes them.
- 27:31Speaker 3: This is just I just I can't can't handle it.
- 27:35Speaker 6: Is this the footage out of Colorado?
- 27:37Speaker 1: Yes? Yes, yes, indeed out of Colorado? That is, there's
- 27:43Speaker 1: video purportedly showing Bigfoot wandering through the woods. And of
- 27:47Speaker 1: course the video has since gone viral, and of course
- 27:51Speaker 1: the video claims to capture Bigfoot lurking in the Colorado woods.
- 27:56Speaker 1: So let's put our scientific hats on one and let's
- 28:04Speaker 1: analyze mm hmm and discover whether or not we believe
- 28:09Speaker 1: this sighting to be real.
- 28:10Speaker 2: That you see.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Him, that's really.
- 28:21Speaker 1: It's a short video, but it's he's right there, dead
- 28:24Speaker 1: in the center. If you can see right in this
- 28:27Speaker 1: little area, keep your eye right in there. I'll start
- 28:29Speaker 1: it over. You can see Bigfoot right in the middle.
- 28:36Speaker 1: See him walking.
- 28:39Speaker 4: That's really.
- 28:44Speaker 1: So what do we think Is this an authentic Bigfoot sighting?
- 28:49Speaker 3: It could be, or it could just be an Iranian
- 28:51Speaker 3: dude lost in the woods.
- 28:55Speaker 1: There, people, I'm just telling it.
- 28:57Speaker 5: It could just be you know, earl and a flannel shirt,
- 29:01Speaker 5: and he got drunken and look separated from his group.
- 29:05Speaker 1: I thought, too, it's like this could just be some
- 29:07Speaker 1: Harry dude out for a walk in the woods that
- 29:10Speaker 1: a bunch of people thought was Bigfoot. He used to
- 29:15Speaker 1: be a teacher in San Antonio.
- 29:16Speaker 3: Now he's just all apped up on Baja Blast.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Yeah, no, there's no.
- 29:26Speaker 3: And then there was some lady on the Discovery channel
- 29:29Speaker 3: was like, we will see Bigfoot in this lifetime, but
- 29:32Speaker 3: this video is not real. And I believed most of
- 29:37Speaker 3: her sentence, uh, predominantly the part where this video isn't real.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Isn't a real Bigfoot? Like, there's no such head. Wouldn't
- 29:47Speaker 3: he be dead by now from the first second exactly?
- 29:50Speaker 3: Somebody would have shot and mounted this thing already.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why he doesn't show up in Texas. And
- 29:57Speaker 1: I think you're ry. I think if Bigfoot was someone
- 30:00Speaker 1: would have mounted it by now. Well, if nothing, especially
- 30:06Speaker 1: this month, especially this month.
- 30:11Speaker 5: If nothing else, with all the cameras in this day
- 30:14Speaker 5: and age, especially you know, hunters put them on their
- 30:17Speaker 5: feeters and everything else, we would have an actual video
- 30:22Speaker 5: of a bigfoot, sasquatch, whatever it's.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Be on Google Earth somewhere.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Every time I see then, they're like, there's a new
- 30:32Speaker 3: like new episode of Finding Bigfoot. I always say the
- 30:35Speaker 3: same thing. I'm like, they should rename the show. Nothing
- 30:38Speaker 3: happens this season either, Yeah, and it's just grown men
- 30:41Speaker 3: in the woods like making what they think is Bigfoot noises.
- 30:43Speaker 3: I'm like, how ow did this happen? Like I have
- 30:47Speaker 3: brilliant ideas for TV shows. I just didn't walking drunkenly
- 30:50Speaker 3: like I don't know how to call Bigfoot. And they're like,
- 30:52Speaker 3: you know what, film, Let's make a show.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Yeah, someone pitched to a television executive. You know the phrase,
- 30:59Speaker 1: it's not the destination, it's the journey. I have an
- 31:01Speaker 1: idea for a television show only about that, Like, okay,
- 31:05Speaker 1: let's do that. So if you look at finding Bigfoot
- 31:08Speaker 1: over their shoulder on occasion, will be that sign that
- 31:10Speaker 1: says it's all about it's all about the journey, not
- 31:13Speaker 1: the destination. Yeah.
- 31:15Speaker 5: I mean, I'd just like to point out that this
- 31:18Speaker 5: is jose Canseko's primary business now is finding big Bigfoot.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Oh, I thought you were saying it was him walking
- 31:24Speaker 1: around letting people feel the beat.
- 31:33Speaker 7: You're in the Treehouse Business online at Treehouse on Air

- 32:15Speaker 1: This is The Treehouse Show. I'm Daniel Malley along with
- 32:17Speaker 1: Trey Trenholm, Raj Sharman and Jerry Caldwell. Wondering did we
- 32:21Speaker 1: just see Bigfoot in the Colorado Woods or was it
- 32:25Speaker 1: just a lost jose Canseco, Roger, I think you said
- 32:29Speaker 1: it really well during the break that steroids will rot
- 32:32Speaker 1: your brain and jose Canseco is a great example of that. However,
- 32:39Speaker 1: I don't think jose Canseco had a whole lot upstairs
- 32:41Speaker 1: to begin with, so what deteriorated didn't take long.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I do believe he wants to fight one of
- 32:51Speaker 3: the Paul brothers. He released a video where he's got
- 32:55Speaker 3: a big stack of money in both hands and he's like,
- 32:58Speaker 3: I'll fight you. If you remember who I was back
- 33:00Speaker 3: in the day, you'll you you won't want to fight me.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Something to that effect. I'd fight him at this point.
- 33:07Speaker 1: The downside is the money that he's got in front
- 33:09Speaker 1: of him. It's probably like he borrowed it from someone,
- 33:13Speaker 1: or he got it from Jimmy Houston holding the gas
- 33:15Speaker 1: can at the gas station. I'm not afraid, jose Gonseeko,
- 33:21Speaker 1: not now. Nineteen ninety one. I wouldn't mess with the
- 33:26Speaker 1: guy when he had a bat in his hand. Yeah,
- 33:29Speaker 1: I wouldn't either. Well, yeah, that that doesn't hurt. But
- 33:32Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, josekn Seko, No, that dude's just he's
- 33:39Speaker 1: he didn't have anything left. And again, not that he
- 33:42Speaker 1: had a whole lot in there in the first place,
- 33:44Speaker 1: but that brain is just real soupy.
- 33:47Speaker 3: But I'm assuming he saved a bunch of money because
- 33:50Speaker 3: it's like all hundreds and some big stacks, and you know,
- 33:53Speaker 3: he's got his in front of a like an I
- 33:56Speaker 3: think it's like an aquarium. It's a very nice house
- 33:58Speaker 3: that he's in, unless he just wanted it into.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Somebody's probably the one in Colorado that he walked into
- 34:03Speaker 1: after people got video of him wandering in the woods.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that's his uh, that's his new thing.
- 34:11Speaker 3: And apparently he's now trying to I'm gonna look it up.
- 34:13Speaker 3: He's trying to find Bigfoot. That's his that was.
- 34:17Speaker 6: His big thing. Is he had big Foot Tours.
- 34:20Speaker 3: No, yeah, that's that's I mean, that's worse than the Phillips.
- 34:26Speaker 3: That's worse than the gas Can and Phillips. Like jose
- 34:28Speaker 3: Canteco Bigfoot Tours.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Yeah, that's Honestly, it's got a nice ring to it.
- 34:33Speaker 1: I'm curious, like if there was a special limited series
- 34:40Speaker 1: of Finding Bigfoot titled Finding Bigfoot with jose Canseco, I
- 34:45Speaker 1: might watch that.
- 34:47Speaker 3: I just want to hear him say, Sasquatch, that's cut.
- 34:59Speaker 1: We'll we'll fix it and post. Today is fred Day,
- 35:07Speaker 1: June sixth, twenty twenty five. Let's celebrate today with some birthdays. Yesterday,
- 35:12Speaker 1: inside the Treehouse, we had a treehouse birthday to celebrate
- 35:15Speaker 1: it is. Yesterday was Trey's dog Daisy. Yesterday was Daisy's
- 35:21Speaker 1: fifteenth birthday, and not today, but this Sunday coming up,
- 35:26Speaker 1: it is my wife's birthday. So happy birthday, Happy birthday day.
- 35:31Speaker 1: We're not saying how old she is, partly because I
- 35:33Speaker 1: don't remember.
- 35:36Speaker 10: In all.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Honestly, I'm at the point now where I have to
- 35:39Speaker 1: think about how old am I again? Because I don't
- 35:41Speaker 1: care about my birthday, so I don't count that much
- 35:44Speaker 1: about it, and so I had to think about it.
- 35:46Speaker 1: I was like, wait, am I forty five now? Or
- 35:48Speaker 1: am I going to be forty five in a few months.
- 35:51Speaker 1: It's like, no, no, okay, I'm forty five now and I'll
- 35:53Speaker 1: be forty six.
- 35:54Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 35:55Speaker 1: So I'm now at the age where I'm not exactly
- 35:57Speaker 1: sure how old I am.
- 35:58Speaker 2: You should you should care about your birthday. That is
- 36:01Speaker 2: your own personal holiday, and you should you should treat
- 36:03Speaker 2: it as such, you'd think.
- 36:06Speaker 1: But the one man that birth me didn't really seem
- 36:08Speaker 1: to care too. My man, that's the joke. I was
- 36:11Speaker 1: going for thank you to it, I know.
- 36:14Speaker 3: I was like, man, am I gonna sound too insensitive?
- 36:16Speaker 1: And then you did it.
- 36:17Speaker 3: I'm like, son up a bitch.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Other birthdays today inside the tree house, Uncle Cracker turns
- 36:25Speaker 1: fifty one. Today, Uncle Cracker fifty one? Uh ohh. NFL
- 36:31Speaker 1: wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins turns thirty three. Didn't want to
- 36:34Speaker 1: skip his. Then we go down to Max Casella. Max
- 36:37Speaker 1: Casella is fifty eight years old. He is probably best
- 36:42Speaker 1: known as Vinnie Del Pino on Douger on Doogie Houser MD.
- 36:47Speaker 1: This was Dougie Hauser's best friend on the TV show
- 36:52Speaker 1: Max Casella is fifty eight today.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Yes, he had like Ralph Macchio syndrome where I do
- 36:59Speaker 3: remember watching an interview with him and one of his
- 37:01Speaker 3: first paychecks from the first season of Dougie Howser, he
- 37:05Speaker 3: bought a convertible I don't know, like a link like
- 37:09Speaker 3: some sort of like really fancy vintage convertible and he
- 37:13Speaker 3: got stopped by the lapd and they pulled him out
- 37:16Speaker 3: and they were like, we need to see your ID
- 37:18Speaker 3: because they didn't believe he was sixteen. So he had
- 37:21Speaker 3: to pull out his ID and that's when he had
- 37:23Speaker 3: to do the reveal because it was a big story
- 37:25Speaker 3: in LA that the kid from Dougie Howser got pulled
- 37:27Speaker 3: over by the police. And he's like, yeah, I'm ninety six,
- 37:31Speaker 3: My bad, I just I'm moisturized. Well, he's got a
- 37:36Speaker 3: cigar and a scotch in front of him, like in
- 37:38Speaker 3: between takes of Dougie Houser.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Yeah, they don't even bother to question him about the
- 37:42Speaker 1: drinking and driving. They're more concerned about it being underage
- 37:44Speaker 1: and driving. He is fifty eight today. The first season
- 37:53Speaker 1: of Doogie Howser MD hit the air in nineteen eighty nine.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Wow yeah again show. Yeah.
- 38:01Speaker 3: I mean I did too. I knew a girl that
- 38:06Speaker 3: I believe had the record at UT but she went
- 38:09Speaker 3: to she wanted to be a doctor. To think she
- 38:12Speaker 3: went to UT at like fourteen or sixteen years.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Old, Indian girl. No nice.
- 38:16Speaker 3: So I was like, oh, that's kind of We kind
- 38:18Speaker 3: of just kind of jokingly called her Doobie Houser.
- 38:23Speaker 1: She didn't do the math. Who has anyone done the math?
- 38:25Speaker 1: How old Maxicusella would have been.
- 38:28Speaker 3: He's now eighty nine, so he would have been he
- 38:33Speaker 3: was twenty two.
- 38:36Speaker 1: I feel like he was older than that.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Twenty five right, he's twenty eight now.
- 38:41Speaker 6: That would have been twenty thirty.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Six, fifty eight, fifty eight now, so yeah, he.
- 38:48Speaker 5: Thirty six years ago was the first episode, so that
- 38:50Speaker 5: would be twenty twenty two.
- 38:55Speaker 1: I think we should just make a promo of this show,
- 38:57Speaker 1: all of us trying to do math and me saying
- 39:01Speaker 1: strangely quiet.
- 39:03Speaker 2: You said he's fifty six, he's he's fifty eight today,
- 39:06Speaker 2: fifty eight. We all go to work that would have
- 39:09Speaker 2: been he w'd have been twenty two.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Now, thinking back on that doesn't sound that bad. He's
- 39:14Speaker 1: twenty two years old playing. Uh well, I guess at
- 39:17Speaker 1: the time Doogie was what I guess they were fourteen
- 39:20Speaker 1: in that first season. Mm hmm. So yeah, he's playing
- 39:24Speaker 1: eight years older than he actually was. Yeah, that's mad
- 39:28Speaker 1: creepy by comparison. One time I drove around my grandmother's
- 39:33Speaker 1: Lincoln town car. No one pulled me over. They thought
- 39:35Speaker 1: it was totally normal. I guess I looked old enough.
- 39:39Speaker 1: They were just glad she wasn't driving it.
- 39:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Probably, So.

- 41:01Speaker 1: All right, Today is Fred Day, June sixth, twoy twenty five.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Once again at the end of the week. Here, Hopefully
- 41:09Speaker 1: it's been a good week for you. If not, hopefully
- 41:11Speaker 1: we've been able to make it just a little bit better.
- 41:15Speaker 1: And if not, hold on to your horses, because I
- 41:19Speaker 1: think I got just the thing to make you feel
- 41:21Speaker 1: a little bit better at the end of the week. Here,
- 41:25Speaker 1: a rare nineteenth century condom with erotic etching is going
- 41:29Speaker 1: on display at a Dutch museum.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Etching.
- 41:42Speaker 1: It's a little shocking, I'm sure. Would you guys like
- 41:47Speaker 1: to see this nineteenth century with erotic etching?
- 41:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I just hope they didn't do it while he
- 41:53Speaker 3: was wearing it?
- 41:57Speaker 1: There it is?
- 42:00Speaker 2: Why?
- 42:00Speaker 1: Yeah? So? Uh? It really looks kind of like a
- 42:06Speaker 1: thin paper bag kind of thing, and then the etching
- 42:08Speaker 1: on the side of it is actually a freakishly detailed
- 42:13Speaker 1: you've got.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Is that Santa Claus with his junk out?
- 42:17Speaker 1: I don't know. I read it? Oh you got it? Trade?
- 42:24Speaker 1: Oh yes, Oh, let's not go into any more detail
- 42:30Speaker 1: than that. They are supposed to be.
- 42:33Speaker 3: They are supposed to be married to Jesus.
- 42:36Speaker 1: This picture, well maybe one of those three guys next
- 42:40Speaker 1: to her is named Jesus.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Okay, they proud of themselves, aren't they?
- 42:45Speaker 1: Well they should be, based on what I'm seeing.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:52Speaker 1: That uh, I've never thought about that before.
- 42:55Speaker 2: To have.
- 42:58Speaker 1: An erotic image on your prophylactic, I don't know if
- 43:02Speaker 1: that's because in the nineteenth century, they felt the need
- 43:06Speaker 1: to put their porn on the prophylactic to help keep
- 43:09Speaker 1: them up, or if it was just a novelty kind
- 43:12Speaker 1: of thing. I don't know, but that's a really detailed
- 43:14Speaker 1: drawing for a nineteenth century rubber. Well, it looks like
- 43:20Speaker 1: it's like glass. It is not.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Oh, it is not.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Oh. It's a rare nineteenth century condom decorated with an
- 43:31Speaker 1: erotic etching featuring a nun and three clejure Jesus, a
- 43:35Speaker 1: nun and three clergyman is going on display at a
- 43:38Speaker 1: museum in the Netherlands. Well, that's fitting believe to be
- 43:41Speaker 1: made from a sheep's appendix. The prophylactic dates back to
- 43:46Speaker 1: eighteen thirty and is like a souvenir from a brothel,
- 43:50Speaker 1: likely a souvenir from a brothel. Ah Joyce, Zealand, curator
- 43:57Speaker 1: of Prince Prince at the museum, told CNN that condoms
- 44:03Speaker 1: would have been sold under the counter at the time.
- 44:06Speaker 1: She says this is an example of mint condition, with
- 44:10Speaker 1: UV testing revealing that it hasn't been used.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Oh.
- 44:13Speaker 1: I bet they were relieved that day. So imagine going
- 44:19Speaker 1: into the UV lab and going like, hey, Tim, so
- 44:22Speaker 1: I got good news. Bad news. I got a rare
- 44:26Speaker 1: nineteenth century artifact for you to examine. The bad news
- 44:30Speaker 1: is is.
- 44:31Speaker 3: A condom in mint conditions, So you know it was
- 44:35Speaker 3: found in you know, some nerds wallet in the eighteen
- 44:38Speaker 3: thirty I just never got used. He was saving it
- 44:44Speaker 3: for prom night. Never happened.
- 44:47Speaker 6: People get tattoos for special occasions. I guess that was.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Did you have to pay extra?
- 44:58Speaker 6: What was he wearing it?
- 44:59Speaker 1: Like?
- 45:00Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 45:01Speaker 1: Oh, I am fascinated though, because I mean we're talking
- 45:06Speaker 1: about archaeology, and because it's archaeology, I always think about
- 45:10Speaker 1: the most famous archaeologist of all time, and that's Indiana Jones.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Just imagine you're a child and you grew up watching
- 45:16Speaker 1: the Indiana Jones movies and said, I want to be
- 45:19Speaker 1: an archaeologist just like Indiana Jones. So you can find
- 45:24Speaker 1: some great discovery, some amazing artifact and declare this belongs
- 45:29Speaker 1: in a museum. But then the unfortunate reality set sin
- 45:33Speaker 1: that the craziest artifact you found in your career is
- 45:37Speaker 1: a condom from the nineteenth century.
- 45:40Speaker 6: Well, you'd understand why you hated snakes.
- 45:46Speaker 1: It actually makes sense now.
- 45:48Speaker 3: When you said you were growing up you wanted to
- 45:50Speaker 3: look for bones.
