- 0:53- Welcome to the divine five one five podcast.
- 0:57- Here is today's prayer.
- 1:04- Hello, and welcome to today's daily prayer.
- 1:08- Today's prayer focus is
- 1:11- addressing
- 1:13- what to do if you've ever been in
- 1:15- a situation where you ignore God's peace after
- 1:18- he's given it to you.
- 1:21- And the scripture I wanna
- 1:23- use as our foundation
- 1:26- comes from Philippians four six through seven,
- 1:30- where it says, do not be anxious about
- 1:33- anything, but in every situation by prayer and
- 1:37- petition
- 1:38- with thanksgiving,
- 1:39- present your request to God.
- 1:41- And the peace of God, which transcends all
- 1:44- understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds
- 1:47- in Jesus Christ.
- 1:49- Now
- 1:50- sometimes
- 1:51- God gives us peace, but we talk ourselves
- 1:54- out of it,
- 1:55- which is the polar opposite of
- 1:58- feeling anxious, right, about,
- 2:00- what to do and our emotions being all
- 2:03- over the place, which we addressed in an,
- 2:06- an earlier prayer,
- 2:09- episode.
- 2:10- And we often overanalyze
- 2:13- or overthink and second guess until
- 2:16- our peace
- 2:18- has been given away to anxiety.
- 2:21- I mean, if truth be told,
- 2:24- sometimes
- 2:26- it's almost as if we don't
- 2:29- believe that we deserve peace
- 2:32- or that
- 2:33- it's our birthright to have it.
- 2:36- Or maybe
- 2:38- that
- 2:40- we we can't have it because
- 2:43- we don't have the faith to believe and
- 2:45- trust that God wants us to have good
- 2:48- things. Right? And having peace of mind
- 2:51- is part of those covenantal
- 2:54- promises.
- 2:56- And so
- 2:57- we allow our doubt. We allow the uncertainties.
- 3:01- We allow whatever it is
- 3:03- to take precedence and give power
- 3:06- to that thing that's causing us anxiety.
- 3:09- And sometimes I would I would,
- 3:12- argue that we also may do that because
- 3:15- it's a place of comfort.
- 3:17- Right? It doesn't feel good, but it's familiar
- 3:19- to us. And trusting God and and and
- 3:23- the peace that he's given us,
- 3:26- that might not be a place of comfortability
- 3:29- because we're not sure how long it's gonna
- 3:31- last.
- 3:32- And so
- 3:34- because of it, we give way to the
- 3:36- anxiety.
- 3:38- And we trust our worries more than God's
- 3:41- reassurance.
- 3:43- But as I
- 3:45- started at the beginning of the episode
- 3:47- talking about it doesn't matter what it is
- 3:50- we're going through,
- 3:51- You know, life is gonna present a lot
- 3:53- of challenges and problems that are gonna make
- 3:56- us feel
- 3:57- anxious despite our best efforts of not feeling
- 4:00- it. But not only does God address the
- 4:03- feeling of
- 4:04- us being anxious,
- 4:07- but he tells us the key to do
- 4:09- it. He says,
- 4:10- talk to me.
- 4:12- Pray.
- 4:13- Be thankful
- 4:15- because it can always be worse.
- 4:17- And then he says,
- 4:19- tell me what it is that you're struggling
- 4:20- with because I'm the perfect parent.
- 4:23- I love you. I care for you, and
- 4:26- I welcome the conversation.
- 4:28- And then he gives us a promise.
- 4:31- He says
- 4:32- that his peace, not our peace, which really
- 4:35- does surpass all understanding,
- 4:37- in the midst of sometimes very difficult
- 4:41- situations,
- 4:42- it will transcend
- 4:44- and supersede any kind of
- 4:48- human understanding,
- 4:50- which
- 4:51- then leads to our hearts
- 4:53- being comforted
- 4:54- and protected
- 4:56- as we continue to demonstrate and mirror the
- 5:00- mind of Christ.
- 5:02- So
- 5:04- keep in mind the next time
- 5:07- God gives you peace about something,
- 5:11- the latest test is to always trust it
- 5:13- against the word
- 5:15- and know that
- 5:17- you may not have the answer,
- 5:19- but he is always the answer. And his
- 5:22- answer will always
- 5:25- be
- 5:26- filled with peace,
- 5:29- understanding,
- 5:29- and comfort for your heart.
- 5:32- That being said,
- 5:34- let's pray.
- 5:37- Heavenly father, teach us to trust the peace
- 5:40- you provide.
- 5:41- When anxiety
- 5:43- tries to take over,
- 5:45- remind us of your faithfulness.
- 5:47- Help us to stop rehearsing
- 5:49- worst case scenarios and start resting in your
- 5:52- promises.
- 5:54- Let your peace quiet our fears and become
- 5:56- the guard over our hearts and minds.
- 5:59- In Jesus' name, amen.
- 6:03- If you were blessed by this episode,
- 6:06- share this prayer if it encouraged you today.
