Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_02: Welcome to the Claymore Become Who You Are podcast.
- 0:03SPEAKER_02: I am glad you're with me.
- 0:05SPEAKER_02: Today we're going to have a discussion, or I'm going to have a discussion with you on Act Five, The Fall and the Call to Be a Man of God.
- 0:14SPEAKER_02: The episode itself was recorded earlier in the week.
- 0:17SPEAKER_02: In today's show, I want to focus on one of the discussion questions in Act Five, specifically Saint John Paul II's letter to families.
- 0:25SPEAKER_02: And I'm going to show you a couple clips to bring out this attack on marriage and the family and children because we haven't not we haven't stood up as men, made in the image and likeness of God.
- 0:36SPEAKER_02: So we allowed evil to fill the void we've left behind.
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: And allow those who have normalized sin to reign.
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: This is spiritual warfare, brothers.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: So first let's uh play a clip from my opener from Act Five from the previous podcast to set the stage for today's discussion.
- 0:53SPEAKER_02: Welcome, men of Claymore.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: I hope you're doing well.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: We're gonna dig right in here.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: This is Act Five from the Claymore Battle Plan Handbook.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: This is the spiritual warfare that we're in right now.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: This is titled The Fall and the Call to Be a Man of God.
- 1:09SPEAKER_02: This is the second panel of the triptych, and we're moving forward, brothers.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: There's an urgency today, and you sense it.
- 1:17SPEAKER_02: Three core things about every man.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: Life is supposed to be an adventure.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be a battle.
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: That's why we had the Claymore sword, and the battle is real.
- 1:25SPEAKER_02: And what's it for?
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: For truth, goodness, and especially beauty.
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: That's number three.
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: Adventure, battle.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: It's for beauty, especially the beauty of love, authentic love.
- 1:37SPEAKER_02: And love is worth fighting for, isn't it?
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: That's why you and I were created.
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: So just as Jesus pointed us back to the beginning in Matthew 19, the model before sin and death entered, the story.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: Remember again, in the beginning it was not so.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: Today, Jesus in the Sermon of the Mount takes us to the second triptych, not to condemn us, but to define the battle, to let us know what type of battle that we're in.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: He says this in on the Sermon of the Mount.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: It sounds kind of rough.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: You have heard it said that you should not commit adultery, you shouldn't cheat on your wife.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: But I say to you, Jesus says, Can you imagine just being there?
- 2:17SPEAKER_02: I mean, what an incredible experience.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: Jesus calls you into an intimate union and friendship with them.
- 2:24SPEAKER_02: But I say to you that everyone even looks at a woman lustfully, has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
- 2:31SPEAKER_02: He's always after the heart, isn't he?
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: He he could have been talking about uh pornography then.
- 2:35SPEAKER_02: Of course, they didn't have the phones then, but uh you know they had a vivid imagination.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: And so I say, okay, I'm not cheating on my wife, and there's nothing wrong with the beauty of that woman.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: But when we start to use her, right, we start to go into our imaginations, and and Satan loves that.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: He comes into that because it twists and distorts our passions and desires.
- 2:57SPEAKER_02: Let's be honest, huh?
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: Authentic love is under attack.
- 3:01SPEAKER_02: We see this, we feel this in our hearts.
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: Sister Lucia of Fatima warned us, and this is not that long ago, Sister Lucia died in in 2005.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: She warned us that the final great battle between Christ and Satan would be over what?
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: Marriage and the family.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: History confirms her insight.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: The family is the heartbeat of humanity and the basic building block of every civilization.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: So when we're called into love, when we're called in to build a family, say, get married, see the woman, the woman sees the man.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: This is the basic building block.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: God set this up to be the building blocks of every civilization throughout history.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: When that family is weakened, which it is today, the whole culture that we see around us, fractures, become toxic.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: Why?
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: Because Satan cannot create.
- 3:51SPEAKER_02: He can only distort what God has made good.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: He's not a creator.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: He can only take our hearts and just twist and distort them.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: This is why he targets the two pillars that sustain every society.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: You think about marriage and the family.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: So what does he target?
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: So directly today, the lives of the most innocent are children, especially in abortion, but even after that.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: And the sacred bond of marriage that brings them into being and protects them.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: You see this, this falling of marriage, this redefinition of marriage.
- 4:23SPEAKER_02: Okay, welcome back.
- 4:25SPEAKER_02: So that was the opener from the podcast itself.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: I want to show you a couple clips.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: And as you're watching these clips, don't nor don't let uh sin normalize your life, right?
- 4:34SPEAKER_02: The world has normalized sin.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: But this is a direct attack on the Imago Day of man being formed in the image of God with his own dignity.
- 4:43SPEAKER_02: And then what happens when lust and selfishness uh comes into the world?
- 4:48SPEAKER_02: You'll see what happens here when two men, one of them is a registered sex offender, child sex offender, and uh he was allowed through surrogacy to uh to buy a child and bring them into this world.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: Uh the other clip is going to be another surrogate situation where the people that hired this woman uh to be a surrogate for them is in our third trimester.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: Basically, that the baby's getting ready to come out, right, and and join us in this in this life.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: An eternal being, by the way, the moment it was conceived, and now is being forced to terminate that child because the child isn't perfect.
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: They found out that they're missing a couple fingers.
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: So watch these clips.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: And I just wanted you to get an idea of this, uh the brutality of this battle.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: And and then we'll uh we'll discuss them.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: So hold on just one second as I as I share my screen here.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: So here it goes.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: Here's a he's a so Billboard Chris posted that this this man is a convicted sex offender who pleaded guilty to felony child pornography charges and corruption of a minor.
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: He sent over twelve thousand text messages to a student.
- 5:58SPEAKER_02: He then raised money on GoFundMe to buy a baby.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: Pennsylvania law does not prohibit registered sex offenders from being a parent through surrogacy.
- 6:09SPEAKER_02: So in this in this part right here, you could see this routine primary uh offense, sexual abuse of children.
- 6:17SPEAKER_02: Okay, if that's not bad enough.
- 6:20SPEAKER_02: But here, here's the next clip that's this is him and his partner celebrating a birthday.
- 6:27SPEAKER_02: I'll play this for you.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: Brandon Mitchell, and and again, I'm reading this, uh, not that you couldn't read it, but for just the audio, people that listen to this, just audio only.
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: Brandon Mitchell is a registered sex offender.
- 6:38SPEAKER_02: He and his partner, and I'm just reading from this post, Logan Riley hired a surrogate so that they could obtain a child.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: Pennsylvania law prevents sex offenders from adopting children, but not from purchasing them through surrogacy.
- 6:53SPEAKER_02: Child protective services should investigate this immediately.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna play you this clip now.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: I don't wanna grow up, wish I'd never grown up, it can still be simple.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: Okay, so here's another one.
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: This uh again, I'm going to read it for those of you on audio.
- 7:28SPEAKER_02: I'm proud to have taken part of this event to promote my book that recounts my life as a child born from Segrogacy.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: Where are you, mommy?
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: Hopefully the book will be out in June if we collect enough money for the translation.
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: This is posted by Olivia, I think her name is spelled M-A-U-R-E-L Muriel.
- 7:48SPEAKER_02: And she's she's fairly well known for speaking out against surrogacy and has written a book about her.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: So let me play this.
- 7:55SPEAKER_02: And this is going to be talking about a woman that was legally required to kill her baby in the third trimester because the commissioning parents for the surrogacy demanded it and threatened a lawsuit.
- 8:06SPEAKER_02: The baby was missing two fingers.
- 8:09SPEAKER_02: So let's play this.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: In the surgeon, it is just normal to have abortion clauses.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: So the commissioning parents have the choice, if they wish, to demand an abortion from to the servant.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: So there was this case where a surya mother was pregnant.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: She was in her third trimester, and uh the baby after the ultimate was found missing two fingers, and the commissioning parents did not want a child missing two fingers.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: So they asked the surya mother to perform an abortion.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: She was in her third trimester, I have to say, a full-grown baby.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: And so she refused it.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: She wanted to keep a baby, but she refused, and she said no.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately, she received a letter from lawyers of the commissioning parents saying that the contract had to be enforced and that she had to get an abortion, or else she would not receive the money.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: And unpost of that, she would be sued, so she was forced to abort this baby uh just because he was missing two fingers.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's this is what happens again when you know we allow um the human dignity of a person not to be respected anymore when we do not stand up as as men, uh as a society for what's true, good, and beautiful, especially the the the Imago Day, huh?
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: The the child uh and the person itself, old, young, we're killing old people too, or disabled children, uh like in this case, and not really disabled, missing a couple fingers, right?
- 9:45SPEAKER_02: Um it's really a tragedy what happens.
- 9:48SPEAKER_02: We have to be able to have conversations about this kind of stuff.
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: There's so much evil in the world.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: And you think about the evil and the attacks on uh Donald Trump now for all kinds of things, you know, Trump derangement syndrome.
- 10:00SPEAKER_02: And I'm not just sticking up for uh Donald Trump.
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: He's not Jesus Christ.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: He's a he's a politician.
- 10:06SPEAKER_02: Uh but why is that spiritual attack so ferocious against him?
- 10:10SPEAKER_02: Uh TDS is real.
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: And why are the attacks so vicious then?
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: St.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: Lucia of Fatima, who I've mentioned many times on here that died in 2005 for not so long ago, our blessed mother uh um uh made herself visible to 70,000 people uh uh in Portugal, and they s they witnessed that miracle there.
- 10:31SPEAKER_02: Well, anyways, one of the three shepherd children that our blessed mother appeared to was uh Sister Lucia.
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: And later on, Sister Lucia wrote to John Paul II and Cardinal Kafara when when they were experiencing this oppression, uh not uh not not so dislike uh Donald Trump, really, you know.
- 10:51SPEAKER_02: And you think, well, wh why?
- 10:52SPEAKER_02: Why this attack on them?
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: It's because they stood up for uh life, because they stood up for marriage in the family.
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: And so she said this.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: She wrote to them and she said, the last great battle between our Lord and Satan will be over marriage in the family, and the focus of that, of course, is the child that comes uh the fruit of a marriage.
- 11:11SPEAKER_02: And so when you start to see the Trump administration, what they're doing, don't forget that they they took road v way, which is the the law of the nation, and they took that scourge off of our nation, put it back into the states.
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: And what else did they do?
- 11:27SPEAKER_02: They're they're pushing it back uh back against this uh gender ideology that's being pushed right into our school systems, and they're backing parents up on this stuff.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: So of course they're gonna be attacked.
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: And uh, you know, so there's all kinds of reasons they say for this.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: Um but the but the the left, the atheists are really after him, and you have to wonder why.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: Remember even trying to expose the corruption.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: Remember Doge?
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: It wasn't so long ago.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: Uh Elon Musk uh for for having for starting Doge um and and just trying to get the corruption and the waste out of our government.
- 11:58SPEAKER_02: Don't forget that the Tesla automobile uh displays were being um uh blown up along with the Tesla cars.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: And uh you see this attack.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Look at Nick Shirley, this young guy, this uh independent journalist was in Minnesota.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: Um he has security guards now, went to California, hopefully he's gonna come to Illinois just for exposing fraud.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: And so you see the the brutal attack on this.
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: You know, the the uh politicians that don't want us to have an idea, ID when we vote.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: We have to have an ID for everything.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: And uh and for voting, no, we don't need one for voting, you know, just so they can steal and corrupt the system.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: It's really something today, so they could push these laws down on us, and you just see this, right?
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: The law to be able to take the life of a child, uh the law that lets two men uh buy a baby.
- 12:50SPEAKER_02: Not only two men, but but one of them is a registered sex offender.
- 12:54SPEAKER_02: And so you when you look at the attack on them, you you don't have to ask why anymore.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: It's it's basically if you try to get rid of any type of evil in the world, especially when it comes to our sexuality, we see that very well.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: St.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: Paul in Ephesians 5, he talks about marriage.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: Well, w that that's followed by Ephesians 6, and I'll just read a part of it.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: And he said, put on the whole armor of God, because we're not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: And so that's what we're battling today.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: This is just an acceleration of that today, and we're s we're we're really sensing this around the world.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: And it could be very overwhelming to all of us when we have all of this evil coming in from all these different directions.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: So whenever I discuss, and I'm suggesting to you, whenever you discuss these things, or you're listening to people debating something back and forth, always get down to the basic two pillars uh of every civilization, which is marriage and the family.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: Every civilization was um every civilization was always grown from the roots from where?
- 14:02SPEAKER_02: It's marriage in the family.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: Without without people coming into the world and then being raised correctly and building a beautiful culture or and a nation, what's going to happen?
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: Everything's gonna crumble.
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: And so these are the two basic building blocks marriage, the family, and the child.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: And so whenever I'm in a conversation with somebody, I and we're going back and forth, I always say, hey, can we stop for a second?
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: If it's just about opinions, in your opinion or my opinion, what difference does it make?
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: There's no solution if there's no truth, right?
- 14:31SPEAKER_02: We we just get into this chaotic chaotic world that we live in.
- 14:34SPEAKER_02: So let me ask you, just about the two pillars of every civilization throughout history, is always based on marriage in the family.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: And so let me ask you, where do you stand on life?
- 14:45SPEAKER_02: And they go, what do you mean life?
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: Where do you stand on life?
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: Uh, from conception to natural death.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, a baby is the right, blah, blah, blah.
- 14:54SPEAKER_02: If they're getting too old, we can kill them too.
- 14:56SPEAKER_02: If they're disabled, you know, what good are they going to do?
- 14:58SPEAKER_02: Blah, blah, blah, I got it.
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: And how about the uh definition of marriage?
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: Well, there, you know, marriage can be between anybody that loves each other.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: And I said, Well, we're all called to love each other, you know, but marriage means marriage, you know, it's between a man and a woman.
- 15:13SPEAKER_02: No, it could be between two men, two women, blah, blah, blah.
- 15:15SPEAKER_02: And so I just say, then there's no sense discussing anything else.
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: I mean, why would I waste my time if you can't even understand the very pillars that we all came from?
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: We all came from a marriage of uh or at least a union of a man and a woman, right?
- 15:30SPEAKER_02: Uh without without a man, without a woman coming together, there is uh no human life.
- 15:35SPEAKER_02: And then remember that Satan seeks to destroy that human person and that marriage created in the image and likeness of God.
- 15:41SPEAKER_02: So this is the this is makes it all clear, everything else that we see.
- 15:45SPEAKER_02: But here's the good news Jesus came to battle sin and death, and each one of you has a role to play.
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: So what can we do?
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: What can you do?
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: What can I do when all this noise comes in?
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: First, and this is part of the Claymore battle plan handbook, and this is why it's all uh we have a three-step battle plan.
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: Number one, get your whole your own house in order.
- 16:06SPEAKER_02: Build it on the rock of Christ.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: That's number one, always starts with the individual human heart, and that's why Claymore Battle Plan begins there too.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: Become a person of love, but love people in the truth and speak the truth to them in love.
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: Then, number two, understand marriage in the family, the fuller expression of that love in the world.
- 16:27SPEAKER_02: And then number three, we go out and make sure that the culture and the laws of our country reflect the beauty of the human person and marriage in the family.
- 16:37SPEAKER_02: If they don't, then we have a problem, you know.
- 16:40SPEAKER_02: So uh uh those two clips that I played, one showing that sex offender and the other one aborting the child, that's a direct attack on both of those pillars.
- 16:49SPEAKER_02: You see that?
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: And this happens all around us.
- 16:52SPEAKER_02: So, and this is in the question uh discussions of Act Vetter to the Families.
- 16:59SPEAKER_02: Well, letter to the families is such a beautiful letter.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: When you can, you can just go to uh the Vatican website, 1994, Letter to Families by John Paul II.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: You'll be able to pull that up.
- 17:11SPEAKER_02: I would read the whole thing, but there's a lot.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: It's a pretty big letter.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna start on uh six, but if you get a chance, read at least the first five.
- 17:20SPEAKER_02: It really opens this up.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: But uh section six is titled Male and Female, He Created Them, and it emphasizes the family as rooted in God's fatherhood and is the fundamental expression of human social nature.
- 17:34SPEAKER_02: It highlights the sincere gift of self that we have to become a sincere gift of self in marriage, forming what?
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: A civilization of love and an antidote to that culture of death.
- 17:47SPEAKER_02: So a couple of key points from that.
- 17:49SPEAKER_02: The divine image, the family established right from the very beginning.
- 17:53SPEAKER_02: This was Act 4 that we just got uh finished with.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: That first part of the triptych, remember, in the beginning, the fall we're in now, uh sin entered the world, and then where we're going.
- 18:04SPEAKER_02: Well, the family is established right from the beginning, male and female, intended for what?
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: The communion of persons and to bring forth life, the sincere gift of self.
- 18:13SPEAKER_02: True love is realized by giving oneself to others.
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: We get that, right?
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: Breaking the lie that individuals are the center of the universe.
- 18:21SPEAKER_02: See, that's what happens here.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: I'm the center of the universe.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: If I'm not ready for a baby or for a baby's missing a finger or two, uh then I'm gonna just kill the baby because that might be hard for me to deal with.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: You know, I don't want an imperfect uh baby.
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: And then um marriage in the family, take it down, redefine it.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: It could be two men, two women, whatever.
- 18:41SPEAKER_02: You know, we don't care.
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: And then not only that, but now we can just buy a baby.
- 18:45SPEAKER_02: The babies, human beings have become commodities.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: You know, when you look back at slavery and all these so-called atheists, leftists uh are, you know, they always talk about slavery.
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: Oh, of course it's uh uh uh wrong.
- 19:00SPEAKER_02: But what's the difference?
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: We used to buy slaves on on markets, right?
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: They used to, you know, grab them, see how strong they were, check their teeth, etc.
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: This is what we're doing with babies now.
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: And you know, it's what's the difference?
- 19:12SPEAKER_02: You know, we're buying children.
- 19:14SPEAKER_02: It's really uh it's really sick.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: So the foundation of love is is the family.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: This is where individuals are brought in.
- 19:22SPEAKER_02: They learn to love, they they learn to be self-sacrificial, they learn to be gifts to one another, to take care of one another, marrying God's creative love.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: And then finally, the third part of that, so get the heart back, understand marriage and a family, and then become a civilization of love.
- 19:38SPEAKER_02: This this last section, the civilization of love, reinforces this uh letter to family central theme that families are essential for building a civilization of love in modern society.
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: So when we talk about um marriage and family as being the building block of every civilization, you know, when you really understand it, it's a civilization of love.
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: And this is what we go out to build.
- 20:00SPEAKER_02: This is not abstract theology.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: Everything I'm saying here, you should understand because this is in your heart.
- 20:06SPEAKER_02: I want to create this uh civilization of love, first within my heart, marriage in the family, and then go out.
- 20:12SPEAKER_02: So it supports it, our our laws, our civilization, our culture itself.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: This is not abstract, is it?
- 20:19SPEAKER_02: It's a roadmap for how real families can thrive and heal a wounded world.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: So in letters to families, male and female, he created them, John Paul II opens up with the first panel of that triptych, going back to Genesis that we talked about in the beginning, before sin entered the world.
- 20:36SPEAKER_02: The entire universe, he says, is inscribed in God's fatherhood, the source of all life.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: Now, what does that mean?
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: Why do we call God father, first of all?
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: He's a spirit, you know?
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: He's not male or female, so why would we call him father?
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: Well, we call God the Father because he's the source of divine life and love.
- 20:56SPEAKER_02: He initiates this love and life in his creation.
- 21:01SPEAKER_02: Remember that from Act 4?
- 21:02SPEAKER_02: If you don't remember, go back and watch that.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: It's so beautiful.
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: So we think about an earthly father.
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: Why do we call him father?
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: Because he initiates the gift too.
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: He carries the seed of life.
- 21:14SPEAKER_02: This is how he's created, and it's implanted where?
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: In the womb of a woman who receives that initiation of love.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: And so that's why the father initiates creation and brings his divine life into it.
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: And then the man who is marrying part of this uh uh divine life story along with the woman, but the man is called father because he initiates this gift.
- 21:38SPEAKER_02: He carries the seed, and even in his body, right, sexually, your ex your or uh sexual organ is on the outside, a woman receives that, and so she receives in a giving way.
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: A man gives in a receiving way, so they have this reciprocal flow of love and life.
- 21:54SPEAKER_02: And what flows from that is new life, the child.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: So so it's so important.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Here.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: And then think about Jesus.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: He's the bridegroom who hangs on the cross later on, the bridegroom who gives up his life for his what?
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: His bride.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: We call mother church.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: We call this the church as an image, a feminine image, because the church receives that seed.
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: Jesus is that seed, and he brings forth life, and the church is his bride, who is the womb who receives his life and love.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: So something unique happens when God creates humanity.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: Right away from Genesis chapter one, God created man in his image, male and female, he created them.
- 22:35SPEAKER_02: See, only human beings are created in the image and likeness of God.
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: Our maleness and our femaleness are not accidents or social constructs, as they say today in these gender ideologies.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: They're part of how we reflect the divine life and love.
- 22:50SPEAKER_02: Human fatherhood and motherhood, why biologically similar to other creatures, right?
- 22:55SPEAKER_02: It takes a male and female bear, say, to have uh cubs.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: Well, we carry a profound likeness to God because we form the basis of the family as a communion of persons created in the image of love.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: John Paul II teaches is the first and most basic human society.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: It arises from the marital covenant.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: Who what is the marital covenant?
- 23:18SPEAKER_02: Those are your wedding vows.
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: I come here freely.
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: I give myself totally to another person.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: And it's going to be faithful.
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: I'm going to be faithful to you always.
- 23:26SPEAKER_02: And the last one is fruitful.
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: These are your wedding vows in the Catholic Church of one man, one woman, freely, faithfully, totally, and open to life, fruitfully to one another.
- 23:37SPEAKER_02: Only persons can choose to live that out and make this conscious decision for the good, huh?
- 23:44SPEAKER_02: To see the other person and say, I'm going to love you forever.
- 23:48SPEAKER_02: So the family mirrors the divine we of the Trinity in a unique way.
- 23:52SPEAKER_02: So again, the Father gives his love to the Son, the Son receives that love in a giving way, and what proceeds from that love is the Holy Spirit.
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: God created us, male and female, so again, a man could give his love to his wife, his wife can receive that love, and out flows from that union can flow a child, a tiny mirror, a reflection of God's Trinitarian love.
- 24:15SPEAKER_02: And so this is what we do.
- 24:16SPEAKER_02: This is why John Paul calls us the civilization of love, the family is marriage and the family in this world.
- 24:22SPEAKER_02: So this sets the stage for everything else that follows.
- 24:25SPEAKER_02: In John Paul II's theology, the body, the body, our body, your body, my body, speaks a language.
- 24:32SPEAKER_02: It speaks the language of love.
- 24:34SPEAKER_02: It makes visible the invisible, the spiritual, and the divine, the Trinity.
- 24:39unknown: Right?
- 24:39SPEAKER_02: That's what a marriage and a family does.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: It's created to transfer into this visible reality of this world that mystery of God hidden from all eternity and be a sign of it.
- 24:49SPEAKER_02: It reveals the invisible mystery of God in this world.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's astounding, isn't it?
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: Our bodies express love.
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: Drawing from the same Genesis accounts, John Paul walks us through these three original experiences.
- 25:03SPEAKER_02: He calls it original solitude when God first creates Adam, and then he realizes he's alone.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: You know, but he's different than the animals.
- 25:11SPEAKER_02: He knows that he's a person, and he feels like there's something missing.
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: And God says to him, I got something else for you.
- 25:19SPEAKER_02: And what does he do?
- 25:20SPEAKER_02: He puts him into a trance, and when he wakes up, he sees the woman.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: And God says to him, It's not good for you to be alone.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: And it's really interesting because it when you read the creation story, everything's good.
- 25:30SPEAKER_02: God made it.
- 25:30SPEAKER_02: This is good, this is good, this is good.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: And finally, with Adam, the first time he says, and it's not good that you should be alone.
- 25:37SPEAKER_02: I'm going to make someone just like you.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: Uh, so he makes mankind in in two ways, a man and a woman, right?
- 25:44SPEAKER_02: So they can actually bring forth like a sacramental sign of God's love in the world.
- 25:48SPEAKER_02: And what happens?
- 25:49SPEAKER_02: When does that happen?
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: When the two become one.
- 25:52SPEAKER_02: Only a man and a woman together can the two become one.
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: Two men can't do that, two women can't do that, etc.
- 25:58SPEAKER_02: And then the third part of this is original nakedness, where they were naked and felt no shame because their bodies express total, free, sincere, self-giving love without lust or domination.
- 26:10SPEAKER_02: Remember, uh, sin didn't come into the world.
- 26:12SPEAKER_02: So sin comes into the world, and you see what I just showed you in those video clips.
- 26:16SPEAKER_02: You see the breakdown all over our culture today.
- 26:19SPEAKER_02: So this spousal meaning in the body says, I am made for you.
- 26:23SPEAKER_02: I exist to give myself away in love.
- 26:26SPEAKER_02: We can only truly find ourselves through the sincere gift of self.
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: The same phrase that echoes throughout the letter of families.
- 26:34SPEAKER_02: Read that when you get a second, right?
- 26:36SPEAKER_02: So sin comes into the world, and this is Act V.
- 26:39SPEAKER_02: Sin comes into the world and introduced what?
- 26:42SPEAKER_02: Lust and selfishness.
- 26:43SPEAKER_02: This started right with Adam and Eve when they turned away from God and they put loincloths on and hid from God.
- 26:48SPEAKER_02: And then what happens?
- 26:49SPEAKER_02: You saw with the loincloths, they put them on their sexual parts.
- 26:52SPEAKER_02: Why?
- 26:53SPEAKER_02: Because they start seeing each other differently as objects to use instead of persons to love, and they felt that they're, you know, all of a sudden shame came in.
- 27:01SPEAKER_02: And that's what we do today.
- 27:03SPEAKER_02: I mean, on a mass scale, we're turning persons into objects.
- 27:07SPEAKER_02: Thank goodness we have Jesus Christ, the bridegroom, who redeems the body, he restores its original meaning, and he elevates marriage to a sacrament, a living sign of his own spousal love for the church.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: Go back and read uh Ephesians 5 uh around verse 30 and on, and you'll see that.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: You know, he says, uh, man, uh husbands love your wives, wives love your husbands as Christ loves the church, and gave himself up for her.
- 27:32SPEAKER_02: So this is the two bookends we see in the whole Bible.
- 27:36SPEAKER_02: The uh the marriage of Adam and Eve, the marriage of Christ and the church, you know, so this is where we're going.
- 27:41SPEAKER_02: Marriage and the family, therefore, are not private arrangements.
- 27:44SPEAKER_02: They're visible icons of Trinitarian love, faithful, fruitful, total, self-gift.
- 27:50SPEAKER_02: And so if we go on just a little bit further in Letter to Families, um part nine, he calls it uh the genealogy of the person, and John Paul writes through the communion of persons which occurs in marriage, man and woman begin a family.
- 28:04SPEAKER_02: Bound up with the family is the genealogy of every individual.
- 28:08SPEAKER_02: The genealogy of the person here is why mothers and fathers matter so deeply.
- 28:14SPEAKER_02: Every human being has roots that begin in the loving union of one man and one woman.
- 28:20SPEAKER_02: You know, every surrogate child has a mother and a father, and we're taking that, we're breaking that away.
- 28:28SPEAKER_02: You have to think about this, you have to dwell on this.
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: I know I'm repeating a couple of these things because we have to understand.
- 28:34SPEAKER_02: Look at the child.
- 28:36SPEAKER_02: Forget about selfishness, lust, and again, putting myself on a pedestal.
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: I have to realize that I'm taking a baby away from its roots, its genealogy.
- 28:46SPEAKER_02: Human fatherhood and motherhood are rooted in biology, but they transcended.
- 28:51SPEAKER_02: God is present in a special way in the begetting of a new person.
- 28:56SPEAKER_02: Parents don't just pass on their DNA.
- 28:58SPEAKER_02: They cooperate with the Creator in bringing forth a unique, unrepeatable person into existence, willed by God for his own sake.
- 29:06SPEAKER_02: Do you realize we all have different foot fingerprints?
- 29:10SPEAKER_02: We nobody matches me exactly.
- 29:12SPEAKER_02: Every single child, the ones that are aborted, the ones that are bought in surrogacy, they're all unique, loved by God.
- 29:20SPEAKER_02: Now we're free.
- 29:21SPEAKER_02: We're free to allow Satan to twist and distort the image and likeness of God, and he can use us to do that, but don't participate in that evil.
- 29:30SPEAKER_02: That child, that little child bears the image of God and is called to eternal union with him.
- 29:36SPEAKER_02: Mothers and fathers become become the first face of God's love to their children.
- 29:42SPEAKER_02: Through their daily self giving, their voices, their presence, they imprint the truth that a child is wanted, sacred, made for love.
- 29:50SPEAKER_02: This is the sincere gift of self lived out, exactly what John Paul II's theology of the body and all these things that we're talking about with Claymore Militas Christi described.
- 30:01SPEAKER_02: Without this mother and father communion, the genealogy of the person, the very person that he he was or she was made to be, is wounded at its source.
- 30:12SPEAKER_02: Our sense of identity.
- 30:13SPEAKER_02: You know how many children we we speak to a lot of young people, you know, even in high school, their sense of identity, security, vocation to love, it's all can be twisted and distorted so easily.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: So many of them are anxious, depressed, even suicidal.
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: You know, it's hard enough to be a human being today in a loving family with this toxic culture that we live in, you know, without meaning and purpose.
- 30:38SPEAKER_02: Can you imagine a child who is brought into these unions and finds out he or she is bought?
- 30:45SPEAKER_02: Did they have a mother somewhere where that just gave them away at birth?
- 30:50SPEAKER_02: Nobody to ever nurture them?
- 30:52SPEAKER_02: It's almost unimaginable.
- 30:54SPEAKER_02: In number ten of Letter to Families, John Paul calls us the third part, so I'm going to go down.
- 31:00SPEAKER_02: So we talk about the individual heart again, marriage in the family, then the civilization of love that creates a wonderful culture, and then ultimately even a nation.
- 31:10SPEAKER_02: John Paul shows the outward fruits of all of this.
- 31:13SPEAKER_02: The family is called to build what he and Pope Paul VI called a civilization of love, a society that thrives because it's rooted in love, truth, mutual respect, and the common good rather than selfishness or using other people.
- 31:30SPEAKER_02: Responsible fatherhood and motherhood are central to this.
- 31:33SPEAKER_02: It's not enough to provide just materially, right?
- 31:37SPEAKER_02: Just to feed them.
- 31:38SPEAKER_02: Parents must educate their children in the gospel and the culture of life, forming them to become givers, not takers.
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: The family is the domestic church, ecclesia domestica, the domestic church.
- 31:53SPEAKER_02: You go to church, right, with this whole community.
- 31:55SPEAKER_02: But we come home, we have to build a domestic church in our house centered on Jesus Christ.
- 32:00SPEAKER_02: That's why we tell them in the third part of the Claymore Battle Plan outline, the third part is to build this domestic church, even put up uh, you know, uh pictures of the divine mercy of our blessed mother, a crucifix, holy water in the house.
- 32:14SPEAKER_02: You know, we have to be praying in the house.
- 32:17SPEAKER_02: Because it's a little church in the home, and it's indispensable for the welfare of all society, because out of this civilization of love is is a civilization of life in the culture.
- 32:29SPEAKER_02: Or we build what John Paul said, the culture of death, and that's what we're building today.
- 32:35SPEAKER_02: We'll just destroy anything that's in our way.
- 32:38SPEAKER_02: I mean, do you imagine most of the evil in the world are men and women participating and manifesting evil, cooperating not with God, but with Satan himself that will twist and distort.
- 32:51SPEAKER_02: See, Satan again doesn't have his own clay.
- 32:53SPEAKER_02: He can only distort what God created good and then bring this havoc into our culture, right?
- 33:00SPEAKER_02: So when this common good is lived and shared, right?
- 33:03SPEAKER_02: Where children learn that they're gifts from God, they learn that they're not commodities.
- 33:09SPEAKER_02: These children grow up with surrogate and then and then are just like a commodity.
- 33:14SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna buy a child.
- 33:15SPEAKER_02: That child is created in the image of God.
- 33:19SPEAKER_02: He has identity rooted in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit too.
- 33:24SPEAKER_02: When mothers and fathers live their vocations well, they don't just raise good kids.
- 33:29SPEAKER_02: They help lay the foundation for a truly human civilization.
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: So I laid a lot on you there.
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: So brothers, let's finish this.
- 33:38SPEAKER_02: Read Letter to Family, it's at least number six, uh, maybe a little bit before that, a little bit after that.
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: And you see just the power of this vision when you get your heart back, understand marriage in the family, and then go out and bring this out into the culture.
- 33:53SPEAKER_02: It's what the Claymore three-step battle plan forms.
- 33:56SPEAKER_02: Again, get our heart back, get your bodies back, and understanding your bodies are meaningful.
- 34:02SPEAKER_02: They reveal God's design for communion.
- 34:04SPEAKER_02: Marriage and family are the original us, a communion of persons, like a mirror to the Trinity.
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: Mothers and fathers are irreplaceable co-creators with God, planting the roots of every person's genealogy.
- 34:17SPEAKER_02: The family is the seedbed of a civilization of love and a culture of life.
- 34:22SPEAKER_02: In a world that often treats family as optional or redefinable, John Paul II reminds us the family is the way of the church and the hope of the future of humanity.
- 34:32SPEAKER_02: Satan again doesn't have his own clay.
- 34:35SPEAKER_02: Look around, he can only twist, distort, and seek to destroy the image of God created in this world.
- 34:41SPEAKER_02: When God is forgotten, human destruction and dysfunction always floods the world.
- 34:46SPEAKER_02: As Edmund Burke famously said, the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
- 34:54SPEAKER_02: The remedy for evil is to take this territory back for Christ, and at the same time we save our eternal souls in the process of doing what?
- 35:02SPEAKER_02: Good works.
- 35:03SPEAKER_02: This is what Claymore Militus Christi is all about, and it starts with your own hearts, brothers.
- 35:08SPEAKER_02: Don't forget subscribe, like, share this channel with others.
- 35:11SPEAKER_02: Remember, there's there is no one that's going to come in riding on a great white stallion to rescue you, your family, your friends.
- 35:19SPEAKER_02: God put you on the path to do that.
- 35:21SPEAKER_02: He created you in a particular place, in a particular time in history, just for this adventure, this battle for what?
- 35:28SPEAKER_02: To defend beauty, especially the beauty of love.
- 35:32SPEAKER_02: Hey, God bless you.
- 35:33SPEAKER_02: Thanks, guys.
- 35:33SPEAKER_02: Thanks for joining me today.
