- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Holy Cow.
- 0:07Speaker 1: New season of the Bachelorette has started. We are kicking
- 0:10Speaker 1: it off, we are making things happen, we are breaking
- 0:13Speaker 1: it all down. Today It's Almost Famous podcast. We're back
- 0:16Speaker 1: in season with Jim season of the Bachelorette.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Ashley is still here. I'm here, not shockingly.
- 0:25Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm shocked. Every day I'm like, today's
- 0:27Speaker 3: the deck, No get ahead. It's more like tomorrow is
- 0:31Speaker 3: the day, is how I've been saying it.
- 0:33Speaker 1: I'm just I'm glad tomorrow's the day because I want
- 0:36Speaker 1: to have you here, especially for this first episode. It's
- 0:38Speaker 1: tough to kick off a really exciting new season of
- 0:41Speaker 1: the Bachelrette without you. I don't know how I would
- 0:45Speaker 1: do it. But let's dive into it now. Yeah, it's
- 0:49Speaker 1: season twenty one of the Bachelorette. Here's something crazy. Do
- 0:52Speaker 1: you know that Jared and myself were on the thirteenth
- 0:57Speaker 1: season of the Bachelorette and I was the twentieth bachelor.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Bachelor. I'll never forget that you were the twentieth bachelor.
- 1:03Speaker 2: They should have made a bigger deal out of that.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Keep going in our Bachelor seasons. There have been then
- 1:08Speaker 3: Bachelorette seasons. I can't believe they took that much of
- 1:10Speaker 3: a break in the two thousands from the Bachelorette anyway, Ben,
- 1:14Speaker 3: you know what jumped out as me as like being
- 1:17Speaker 3: the most like what's going on here moment? At least
- 1:21Speaker 3: at the beginning of the episode. What's that was, why
- 1:24Speaker 3: weren't they at the Bachelor Mansion? Right?
- 1:27Speaker 2: It's a good question.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Till the end then we found out why they were
- 1:30Speaker 3: not at the Bachelor Mansion.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I still don't know why they're not. I mean, even
- 1:33Speaker 1: if they're leaving after one date there, I don't know
- 1:37Speaker 1: why they still wouldn't have gone to the mansion.
- 1:40Speaker 3: My guess is that Marshall, the owner of the Bachelor Mansion,
- 1:43Speaker 3: probably didn't want to completely evacuate his home and have
- 1:48Speaker 3: them make it look like the Bachelor Mansion inside for
- 1:51Speaker 3: just one night. And I'm assuming that this house that
- 1:55Speaker 3: they used, which is also the house that they used
- 1:57Speaker 3: for what's that show called Listen to Your Heart, I
- 2:01Speaker 3: think that's probably just like a rental property, like that's
- 2:03Speaker 3: where they shoot things at, so they didn't they could
- 2:05Speaker 3: get it for one night and make it over.
- 2:07Speaker 2: It was beautiful.
- 2:09Speaker 1: It's you know, the mansion is iconic, and seeing people
- 2:12Speaker 1: walk through those front doors and take in a right
- 2:15Speaker 1: you know, always is exciting for me because I understand
- 2:17Speaker 1: and I've seen and I've been there before. But I
- 2:19Speaker 1: don't think this episode or this season is going to
- 2:22Speaker 1: miss the mansion.
- 2:24Speaker 2: It feels like.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I was just scared that we had gotten rid of
- 2:28Speaker 3: it forever and I was like, wait a second, I've
- 2:29Speaker 3: never going to be able to, you know, go back
- 2:32Speaker 3: there and be like.
- 2:32Speaker 2: This show your kids.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Yeah, it must always stay the same.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Now going forward, well, we do have an episode to
- 2:41Speaker 1: speak about to talk about. I hope everybody listening has watched.
- 2:45Speaker 1: If they haven't, here's some just some ideas that have
- 2:51Speaker 1: happened in the past on the almost in this podcast,
- 2:54Speaker 1: we won't know all the names of these guys yet,
- 2:56Speaker 1: so I just want to let you know that there's
- 2:57Speaker 1: going to be some descriptors to categorize who we're talking about,
- 3:02Speaker 1: so you're gonna have to kind of piece that together. Also,
- 3:05Speaker 1: you know, Ashley and myself have never said that Night
- 3:09Speaker 1: One is our favorite episode. It's never been our favorite episode.
- 3:13Speaker 1: And I think for me, Ashley, I haven't heard your
- 3:16Speaker 1: thoughts yet. I would still hold that after the Night
- 3:19Speaker 1: one this season, it's not a marker of how good
- 3:22Speaker 1: or bad the season is gonna be.
- 3:24Speaker 3: No, it never is very telling.
- 3:26Speaker 2: It's just it's just the same thing over again.
- 3:29Speaker 1: But we did get introduced to some of these guys, Ashley,
- 3:32Speaker 1: let's talk about some of our favorites and then some
- 3:34Speaker 1: of the people that might concern us after a period
- 3:37Speaker 1: of time.
- 3:38Speaker 2: So who are some of your favorites?
- 3:39Speaker 3: Okay, so favorites. I don't have a ton. I'm gonna
- 3:43Speaker 3: be honest, don't have a ton. I understand her attraction
- 3:47Speaker 3: to Sam, the general contractor, who looks to me exactly
- 3:52Speaker 3: like Woan Pablo meets Sean Booth. He has definitely there's
- 3:59Speaker 3: an old to him. He's sexy. I worry about him,
- 4:05Speaker 3: and you even see in the scenes to the next
- 4:07Speaker 3: you know, the season that he might be a little
- 4:10Speaker 3: bit of a troublemaker, he might have a bit of
- 4:12Speaker 3: an ego on him. But I acknowledge that you know,
- 4:17Speaker 3: he as the first Rose recipient, the first impression Rose recipient,
- 4:23Speaker 3: definitely has I think the most chemistry with her. She
- 4:26Speaker 3: finds him most appealing Right now, what I loved is
- 4:31Speaker 3: that she didn't kiss anyone until after she met everyone. Now,
- 4:37Speaker 3: I mean, did she have one on one sessions with everyone?
- 4:40Speaker 3: I guess we can't be certain. We don't have any
- 4:42Speaker 3: guys complaining in the house that they didn't have a
- 4:45Speaker 3: moment with her, so I'm going to go ahead and
- 4:47Speaker 3: say that she probably had a little time with everyone.
- 4:52Speaker 3: I think that this episode, or like the time it
- 4:56Speaker 3: took to film this episode, perhaps was longer than any
- 4:59Speaker 3: other for episode because it got it got light light
- 5:05Speaker 3: outside so early, it got light outside by the time
- 5:11Speaker 3: that she gave out her first impression rose. Normally we
- 5:15Speaker 3: see the sun rising in the background of the rose ceremony,
- 5:20Speaker 3: but here the roads what the first rose wasn't even
- 5:24Speaker 3: given out, and the sun was straight up out And
- 5:27Speaker 3: it gave me the willies because by the time she
- 5:31Speaker 3: had that moment with Sam, the guys hadn't even lined
- 5:36Speaker 3: up for the rose ceremony, which in my head means
- 5:40Speaker 3: there was at least two hours more until the rose
- 5:44Speaker 3: ceremony was done at that point.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I like that this is what you're focused on now,
- 5:48Speaker 1: Like you know, most people are saying, yeah, that's crazy,
- 5:52Speaker 1: it gets light out, but Now as you get older
- 5:53Speaker 1: and I get older, the amount of time that each
- 5:58Speaker 1: contestant has asked to stay awake is now focus of
- 6:00Speaker 1: all of our attentions.
- 6:02Speaker 3: How red are their eyes? How bad is their breath?
- 6:04Speaker 3: Are they hungry? Like? Are their eyes just like just
- 6:08Speaker 3: so dry?
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's it's.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Aughaking out at you making out? So you were making
- 6:17Speaker 3: out at like six thirty am.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Well, that's why these contestants go on to win all
- 6:22Speaker 1: these other competition shows, because they've been through the grind.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I'm sorry. Your question to me was who stood out?
- 6:31Speaker 3: And here I am talking about the sun.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Yeah, you didn't really answer the question why.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Sam obviously stood out is what I'm saying. I didn't
- 6:40Speaker 3: feel immense chemistry with a lot of other guys, but
- 6:42Speaker 3: I do have things to say about other guys. But Ben,
- 6:45Speaker 3: please your feedback.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Bring this back around.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I think Sam is definitely somebody we'd have to speak about.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Now.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Was he my favorite?
- 6:54Speaker 4: Uh?
- 6:55Speaker 3: No?
- 6:55Speaker 1: Do I think he got the first impression Rose because
- 6:59Speaker 1: he he is gonna have a target on his back
- 7:01Speaker 1: and he's not going to respond well to it. Yes,
- 7:04Speaker 1: I do. I really liked Marcus. I think Marcus came
- 7:07Speaker 1: in very first person out of the limo. He was humble,
- 7:10Speaker 1: he was kind, he has a great story. I do
- 7:13Speaker 1: think he's one to watch now. I don't know anything
- 7:16Speaker 1: about these guys character at this point. There's not one
- 7:18Speaker 1: guy I could say hey after night one on this season,
- 7:22Speaker 1: they made me concerned or they made me excited. I
- 7:24Speaker 1: think everybody is kind of showing their best face. You
- 7:27Speaker 1: give it time, you give it some pressure, then we'll
- 7:30Speaker 1: see who these guys really are. But I think Marcus
- 7:31Speaker 1: really stood out to me. I also think Noah's brother
- 7:34Speaker 1: is one to look out for. I think he seems
- 7:37Speaker 1: very sweet. I think he also has the advantage of
- 7:41Speaker 1: having Noah, who has probably told him about how this
- 7:44Speaker 1: process works, who to look out for, who to stay
- 7:47Speaker 1: away from, and the things to say not to say,
- 7:51Speaker 1: which is interesting because we do see a clip of
- 7:53Speaker 1: I think his name's Aaron, Aaron being the guy that
- 7:56Speaker 1: says not everybody here is here for the right reasons,
- 7:59Speaker 1: which is never a good thing for any contestant to do,
- 8:02Speaker 1: to be the person that says fat m But I
- 8:08Speaker 1: actually one of my questions for you is, honestly, when
- 8:14Speaker 1: it comes to the first impression, Rose can remember a
- 8:18Speaker 1: season as of late, where the first impression Rose Getter
- 8:23Speaker 1: ends up being there at the.
- 8:26Speaker 3: End, it's been a while.
- 8:30Speaker 1: I think my point is, I think the trend is
- 8:34Speaker 1: that the first impression Rose receiver has as of late,
- 8:40Speaker 1: reacted really poorly to getting the first impression Rose. In fact,
- 8:44Speaker 1: they've had the target on their back and they haven't
- 8:46Speaker 1: joked with themselves, they haven't handled it well. In fact,
- 8:49Speaker 1: they got a little too big an ego. Their confidence
- 8:52Speaker 1: kind of gets big, and they annoy the rest of
- 8:54Speaker 1: the house, and then over time they end up becoming
- 8:57Speaker 1: contentious with the rest of the house. I think this
- 9:00Speaker 1: is gonna happen with Sam. Now we've gone through some
- 9:03Speaker 1: of the people that sit out to us. You said Sam,
- 9:04Speaker 1: I said Marcus. Obviously, Aaron's there.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I agree with you with Marcus for sure. When she
- 9:10Speaker 3: was sitting down with Marcus at the cocktail party, I
- 9:11Speaker 3: was like, Oh, this could be him, this could be
- 9:13Speaker 3: the first impression for us Getter, and then even with
- 9:16Speaker 3: Aaron a little bit too.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I think there is definitely some standouts. Again, though,
- 9:22Speaker 1: I think this night one stands out and separates itself
- 9:25Speaker 1: to me, because there isn't that person that everybody's gonna
- 9:27Speaker 1: be like, Oh my gosh, this guy's it.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Now let's just go generalities here. Who, Ashley, do you
- 9:44Speaker 1: want to talk about? Who kind of just go off
- 9:47Speaker 1: on your tangent. Now, who is memorable to you for
- 9:51Speaker 1: who they are?
- 9:51Speaker 2: What they did?
- 9:53Speaker 3: Okay, this is shocking. What was his name? I have
- 9:56Speaker 3: this written down. Jonathan the guy with the head wrap,
- 10:02Speaker 3: the patient who came out of the limo with his
- 10:06Speaker 3: butt showing. My sister and I were so grossed out.
- 10:10Speaker 3: We're like, oh, no, girl wants to see a bare
- 10:13Speaker 3: ass as a first impression. And then like the whole
- 10:17Speaker 3: gimmick of the head wrap. I'm like. And then he
- 10:21Speaker 3: unwrapped his rap and I was like, wait, he's cute.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Like I was like, I'm like, most attracted to him
- 10:30Speaker 3: out of anybody else, really, Yeah, And so interestingly, I
- 10:36Speaker 3: think that he might have a future. So that was
- 10:40Speaker 3: interest That was interesting to me. Sam m the love
- 10:44Speaker 3: Virgin made a big deal about never having a girlfriend
- 10:48Speaker 3: before he's twenty five. I hadn't had a boyfriend at
- 10:52Speaker 3: twenty five, so I'm not gonna I do no fault
- 10:55Speaker 3: him for that. I was weirded out by the fact
- 10:59Speaker 3: that he came that his package included him curling his
- 11:04Speaker 3: eyelashes with a lash curler, so that that's interesting.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Why is that interesting?
- 11:15Speaker 3: I've never seen a guy prepare himself for a night
- 11:20Speaker 3: with an eyelash curler.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I told you.
- 11:22Speaker 1: One of the only things I do aesthetically to my
- 11:25Speaker 1: face ever, especially on the show.
- 11:27Speaker 2: No, well, I do that. I guess if that counts.
- 11:31Speaker 1: I have one of I got a eyelash comb one
- 11:34Speaker 1: of those little things, and I comb out my eyelash.
- 11:37Speaker 3: That's fun because it feels nice.
- 11:38Speaker 2: And it feels really good, I must say. But I
- 11:41Speaker 2: just say it feels good. How many dudes do you
- 11:43Speaker 2: see do that? Not a lot? Is it a weird thing?
- 11:46Speaker 2: Could you say it's a weird thing.
- 11:48Speaker 1: If you want to curl those eyelashes, because you've got
- 11:50Speaker 1: long enough eyelashes to curl, go for it, dude.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Okay, all right, I'm not yeah again, A little bit
- 11:58Speaker 3: of maybe a beige flag, a base flag, Okay, based flag.
- 12:03Speaker 3: I Dylan, the twenty four year old medical student, stands
- 12:10Speaker 3: out to me as a good potential. I liked him
- 12:14Speaker 3: and it's just his bio, and I am eager to
- 12:18Speaker 3: see more of him. But right now he's kind of
- 12:20Speaker 3: like the strong, silent type.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:22Speaker 3: I think he'll get far though. And then the other
- 12:27Speaker 3: things worth mentioning, I think were it was the disgusting
- 12:34Speaker 3: moment between the real estate developer who from New York,
- 12:38Speaker 3: who just cringes me out. Does he think that, like
- 12:42Speaker 3: his travel and his money is impressive.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Here's just a note here to pause you.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Anybody that wants to brag about how much money they have, yeah,
- 12:55Speaker 1: should just creep you out in general, and typically they
- 12:58Speaker 1: ain't telling the truth.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Yeah, Oh he was, like, I shipped my Maserati or
- 13:03Speaker 3: whatever the heck that was Ferrari all the way from
- 13:07Speaker 3: New York. Oh, yes, that car they shipped it for you.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's the dumbest thing you could ever do.
- 13:14Speaker 1: You won't need a car now for the next three months.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Why is what you're already gonna do with your Maserati
- 13:18Speaker 1: sitting in Los Angeles? Hopefully that was a cool two
- 13:20Speaker 1: minute drive. It doesn't make any sense. It's not rational.
- 13:24Speaker 1: You don't want to be and marry somebody who's going
- 13:26Speaker 1: to be making weird decisions like this. This doesn't speak husband,
- 13:30Speaker 1: it speaks child.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Yes, And then to make matters worse, Brian, the aesthetics
- 13:37Speaker 3: guy with the completely frozen forehead, comes and like tries
- 13:41Speaker 3: to interrupt the Ferrari moment, and it's just disgusting. I
- 13:46Speaker 3: can't these guys only got through for the sake of TV,
- 13:50Speaker 3: because come on, now, there's no way she was attracted
- 13:53Speaker 3: to anything between the two of them.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I do really like the med school student. I think
- 13:59Speaker 1: that the strong silence hype definitely somebody you know, there
- 14:03Speaker 1: is some guys here that even in just their intro packages,
- 14:06Speaker 1: you could tell they were very excited to potentially find
- 14:10Speaker 1: love and not just be on television. And I think
- 14:13Speaker 1: you saw that in some of their actions. Even at
- 14:15Speaker 1: the mansion, there were some quiet people around, which is great.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I think those are the people that are going to
- 14:20Speaker 1: stand out in the end switching gears, because we have
- 14:24Speaker 1: gone through some of the standouts now in terms of
- 14:26Speaker 1: the contestants a little bit. To go back to our
- 14:31Speaker 1: breakdown episode where we broke down each of these guys,
- 14:33Speaker 1: I do think, as usual, the guys who were a
- 14:36Speaker 1: lot more handsome than we saw in the pictures that
- 14:40Speaker 1: were taken and posted online. This is a good looking
- 14:44Speaker 1: group of guys. There's definitely some people I think as
- 14:48Speaker 1: we get to know them better, will become even more
- 14:51Speaker 1: handsome and you know, attractive to us all. But I
- 14:56Speaker 1: do think I was a little nervous after looking at
- 14:58Speaker 1: all the pictures. I was like, this be rough and
- 15:01Speaker 1: it wasn't. It was not rough at all. They put
- 15:03Speaker 1: a suit on. Well, there's definitely some studs. Now, let's
- 15:07Speaker 1: talk about Jen. We still did not get to know
- 15:10Speaker 1: a lot about Jen even on this episode. She is
- 15:13Speaker 1: our bachelorette and one of the things that we were
- 15:16Speaker 1: not concerned about, but what we wanted desired was to
- 15:20Speaker 1: learn more about Jen because we did not get to
- 15:22Speaker 1: see a ton of Gin on Joey's season of the Bachelor,
- 15:26Speaker 1: And honestly, I felt like we didn't get to know
- 15:29Speaker 1: a lot about Jen even after this episode. We got
- 15:32Speaker 1: to hear a little bit about her family dynamics and
- 15:35Speaker 1: what she wanted and desired for life and kind of
- 15:38Speaker 1: her schooling. I will say I want to know more
- 15:42Speaker 1: about Jen for one reason and one reason only. I
- 15:45Speaker 1: think I really like Jin. I thought she handled Night
- 15:48Speaker 1: one with her responses, her ability to listen, her ability
- 15:52Speaker 1: to make fun, to laugh, to kind of ease the
- 15:56Speaker 1: nervousness of all these guys better than any that we've
- 16:00Speaker 1: seen in recent history. I thought she was amazing on
- 16:04Speaker 1: night one, so I want to I just want to
- 16:07Speaker 1: know more about her.
- 16:08Speaker 2: I hope we get to.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Well, you know how we talk about when they go
- 16:12Speaker 3: on one on ones, they usually just learn about the
- 16:16Speaker 3: new contestant and not the bachelor, not the lead. I
- 16:19Speaker 3: do hope that they have they show the conversation in
- 16:22Speaker 3: full so that we can get to know both of
- 16:24Speaker 3: them at the same time. I also want to go
- 16:27Speaker 3: back to what I was saying earlier about the fact
- 16:30Speaker 3: that she decided not to kiss anyone until she decided
- 16:33Speaker 3: who her first impression Rose was. I just thought that
- 16:38Speaker 3: was refreshing because I feel like every night one we
- 16:43Speaker 3: keep getting more and more kisses, and it's like, Okay,
- 16:47Speaker 3: how much do you you really feel the urge to
- 16:49Speaker 3: kiss this person after a five minute conversation. So I'm
- 16:52Speaker 3: just really glad that she reserved it for her first impression,
- 16:55Speaker 3: Rose Getter, and that she went through like everyone and
- 16:59Speaker 3: then she was like, I've been thinking about you like
- 17:02Speaker 3: I keep thinking about you. So I just felt like
- 17:04Speaker 3: there was a lot of meaning to it.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I do. Sometimes that's just luck too
- 17:09Speaker 1: that it works out that way. I don't know if
- 17:11Speaker 1: any lead that I've talked to when we, you know,
- 17:15Speaker 1: are having drinks and just talking about the experience, says, oh, yeah,
- 17:18Speaker 1: I went in the nine one just ready to make
- 17:19Speaker 1: out with everybody. I don't think that's ever actually a
- 17:22Speaker 1: desire or something that anybody believes will be the healthiest
- 17:25Speaker 1: for the long term relationships of all of these people.
- 17:28Speaker 1: But sometimes it just happens, right Like sometimes you're just
- 17:31Speaker 1: in a position, you're small talking and then all of
- 17:35Speaker 1: a sudden, there's a kiss and it happens on night one.
- 17:38Speaker 1: I think with Jen one of the reasons I would
- 17:41Speaker 1: say that there wasn't as much kissing or there really
- 17:46Speaker 1: wasn't any until the first impression or is get her
- 17:49Speaker 1: was because she's a good conversationalist. Like the conversations continued,
- 17:54Speaker 1: they never stopped.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I think she's engaging.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I think these guys were nervous and she kept them
- 18:00Speaker 1: kind of asking good questions. She was asking good questions back,
- 18:03Speaker 1: and when the conversation is flowing, there's no need to
- 18:06Speaker 1: stop and have to make out, which you know what.
- 18:08Speaker 1: For the first couple of dates, I know you and
- 18:10Speaker 1: I are like, this is awesome. We won't have to
- 18:11Speaker 1: watch Jin make out with everybody. What we do get
- 18:14Speaker 1: to do is see Jin connect with people and we
- 18:17Speaker 1: get to learn about the contestants. That makes a better season.
- 18:19Speaker 1: So that's my prediction now for the rest of the
- 18:21Speaker 1: season is that we're actually going to get to know
- 18:23Speaker 1: some of these guys, because we've had leads who are
- 18:27Speaker 1: so bad at talking and so bad at asking questions
- 18:30Speaker 1: that we've only seen them kiss people.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, I know. All right, Well, Ben, is
- 18:37Speaker 3: there anything else, Like I have a couple more random thoughts.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Before we jump into random thoughts, I want to
- 18:44Speaker 1: talk to you about now your overall idea that they
- 18:47Speaker 1: won't be at a mansion, that they're going to be
- 18:49Speaker 1: traveling right away internationally with this massive group of people.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Are you excited for this? You know? Are you nervous
- 18:59Speaker 2: about it?
- 19:00Speaker 1: I'll say my opinion is the mansion always seems to
- 19:03Speaker 1: bring out drama. I'm nervous that traveling internationally might cause
- 19:13Speaker 1: less drama than what we've seen in the mansion. Because
- 19:15Speaker 1: the mansion, you live on top of each other, you're
- 19:17Speaker 1: in bunk beds with each other, you're sharing a bathroom,
- 19:19Speaker 1: with each other. You're waking up around each other, You're
- 19:21Speaker 1: around each other all the time, in very close proximity,
- 19:26Speaker 1: and you're just sick of being in the heat of
- 19:28Speaker 1: la sitting outside while somebody else is on a date,
- 19:31Speaker 1: you know, twirling your thumbs. I am nervous that that drama,
- 19:37Speaker 1: kind of the anxiousness to continue on will be less
- 19:42Speaker 1: because they're traveling internationally.
- 19:46Speaker 3: I don't know if I agree with that. I do
- 19:49Speaker 3: agree with like being in the house. It's closer quarters.
- 19:54Speaker 3: You are in a bedroom with like twelve people versus three.
- 19:59Speaker 3: But I also so feel like you're on these long
- 20:02Speaker 3: flights and you're going through time changes, and you're probably
- 20:06Speaker 3: crankier and like more out of your element. So that
- 20:09Speaker 3: could also bring up some bad feelings. Yeah, so I
- 20:14Speaker 3: don't know. I don't have a problem with them going
- 20:16Speaker 3: right off the bat traveling. I don't think it's going
- 20:20Speaker 3: to make a whole different vibe. But I hope it
- 20:22Speaker 3: doesn't feel like and it shouldn't. I shouldn't. I was
- 20:26Speaker 3: gonna say, hope it doesn't feel like the quarantine seasons,
- 20:30Speaker 3: where like we never had a place if familiar. Well, yeah,
- 20:36Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't I don't have any strong
- 20:38Speaker 3: opinions on this, okay, but Ben yours what's interesting?
- 20:42Speaker 2: Consider it.
- 20:53Speaker 1: We're gonna transition now into Ashley's general thoughts on this episode,
- 20:58Speaker 1: everything that's just been swirling in your head after watching it,
- 21:00Speaker 1: after feeling it, Ashley, take it away.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Okay, So disappointed that the heavy set guy, the teddy bear, we.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Never got to know him. He was such a good character.
- 21:10Speaker 3: I liked him. His personality went along with what I
- 21:14Speaker 3: thought he would be like based on his bio, and
- 21:17Speaker 3: I'm bummed. I also, you remember the Devin Okay, so Devin,
- 21:23Speaker 3: the one that she said it reminds her of Pete Davidson,
- 21:26Speaker 3: who owns like a freight company in Texas and was
- 21:28Speaker 3: brought up by a single mom. He's the one that
- 21:33Speaker 3: likes to poison himself with whatever he's allergic to. Remember,
- 21:38Speaker 3: I don't know about my feeling they have something. He's
- 21:42Speaker 3: definitely a big personality. He makes me nervous though. He
- 21:47Speaker 3: makes me feel like there's something there might be some
- 21:51Speaker 3: darkness there.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Yeah, there's something off.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Okay, thank you you feel.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I definitely feel it, and I think they tried to
- 21:58Speaker 1: communicate that touch show us that during this episode. I
- 22:03Speaker 1: don't know, Ashley, if how it will play out, right,
- 22:10Speaker 1: I don't. I don't know what the story will up being,
- 22:12Speaker 1: but yes, I think you are. My attention was attuned
- 22:16Speaker 1: to him and what his decision making will be like
- 22:19Speaker 1: now for the rest of the season.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Okay.
- 22:21Speaker 3: And then finally Marcus who, oh no, not Marcus Love.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Marcus Grant the basketball player. Yeah, we were so right
- 22:30Speaker 3: on about him during our profile breakdown. He was a
- 22:36Speaker 3: professional basketball player and then he turned into a financier
- 22:41Speaker 3: and you said interested like the final like, how what
- 22:46Speaker 3: extent of finance are you doing? Is this just something
- 22:49Speaker 3: that you say to make you seem fancy? And the
- 22:53Speaker 3: guy just seems to really like to look fancy. He
- 22:59Speaker 3: had an he's a basketball player, but he has play
- 23:02Speaker 3: vibes all over him. Extremely good looking. But he's the
- 23:07Speaker 3: kind of guy that will just kind of like say anything.
- 23:10Speaker 3: He could come up with a line out of his
- 23:11Speaker 3: butt and make it sound smooth and suave and seductive.
- 23:16Speaker 3: It just seems like everything's like a seduction line, right,
- 23:20Speaker 3: And I'm worried that she might be seduced by his
- 23:26Speaker 3: overall being. But I don't think that there's a lot
- 23:29Speaker 3: of substance right there, right now.
- 23:32Speaker 2: I think him and Sam very much are similar in that.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Yeah Sam, Sam general contractor Sam.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Or No, who's got the first impression?
- 23:40Speaker 4: Rows?
- 23:40Speaker 2: What was his name? Oh?
- 23:41Speaker 3: Sam m is the first impression get her? Sam En
- 23:47Speaker 3: is the love virgin.
- 23:49Speaker 1: I think those the first impression Rows, Getter, and Grant
- 23:52Speaker 1: remind me very similarly to each other, based in just
- 23:56Speaker 1: how they what they say, and how they have handled
- 24:00Speaker 1: Night one. I'm always a little hesitant because both those
- 24:05Speaker 1: dudes seemed a little too confident Night one or egotisticle?
- 24:12Speaker 3: Which one is it? Yeah?
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah, are you confident?
- 24:14Speaker 1: Or is your ego so big that you just could
- 24:18Speaker 1: never admit that this is actually an environment that you
- 24:20Speaker 1: should feel very uncomfortable in, that this is something very weird.
- 24:24Speaker 1: H And that's what you know, that's where my hesitancy comes,
- 24:26Speaker 1: because where does that confidence come from? But you know what,
- 24:29Speaker 1: in the past, we've had this similar feeling that we
- 24:31Speaker 1: just said about Sam and Grant, and these guys or
- 24:36Speaker 1: these women end up sharing their story and then we
- 24:38Speaker 1: get to know them in a whole new light, through
- 24:40Speaker 1: a whole new lens, and we're like, we really like
- 24:42Speaker 1: them now that has happened, and I'm open to that.
- 24:45Speaker 1: I just think as of right now, my guard's up. Yeah,
- 24:49Speaker 1: my guard's up for jin.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Yeah. See, my guard's up with a lot of the
- 24:53Speaker 3: guys except for Bill and the doctor Dylan medical student,
- 24:57Speaker 3: I trust you, and John m he's also a medical
- 25:01Speaker 3: student a year older, just a little bit more on
- 25:05Speaker 3: the down low. We'll see.
- 25:06Speaker 2: What's the age ranges of these men, Ashley.
- 25:10Speaker 3: I think it's probably twenty four to mid thirties.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Well, I mean that's a pretty good range like that.
- 25:18Speaker 1: In Jen's howel she is twenty six. Yeah, so we're
- 25:22Speaker 1: right there. I mean, this is all it could be anybody,
- 25:25Speaker 1: you know, there's nobody too young or too old. Really,
- 25:28Speaker 1: twenty four is young, I get that, but that's also
- 25:30Speaker 1: twenty four I think is Dylan right, the men's student, he.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Seems very mature for his age. He was talking about
- 25:36Speaker 3: wanting to be a doctor at the age of twelve
- 25:38Speaker 3: and like sharing to shadow doctors at that age because
- 25:42Speaker 3: of his grandmother's breast cancer. That was very sweet.
- 25:46Speaker 2: It's very sweet.
- 25:49Speaker 1: I am excited for us this season, Ashley. I do
- 25:51Speaker 1: think there's some great things upon us. And to close
- 25:54Speaker 1: out this episode, of episode one of gen season of
- 25:57Speaker 1: The Bachelorette. Let's talk about now now the kind of
- 26:01Speaker 1: preview for the rest of the season. Anything stand out
- 26:03Speaker 1: to you there that makes you excited and nervous or
- 26:07Speaker 1: just memorable.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Ben, I don't think she's ending up with anyone.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Not same, I would say the same thing.
- 26:13Speaker 3: I'm like pretty certain in that, like to the point
- 26:15Speaker 3: where I might just like keep saying it and just
- 26:17Speaker 3: stand by my thought the entire season. Because when I
- 26:21Speaker 3: interviewed her, which you guys, the interview comes out today,
- 26:23Speaker 3: you can listen to it. She didn't seem giddy over anyone,
- 26:27Speaker 3: you know how usually I can get somebody to sound
- 26:30Speaker 3: giddy over someone. She didn't have that she didn't even
- 26:33Speaker 3: have like the whole I'm happy thing. Well, maybe she
- 26:37Speaker 3: was like I feel good or like, you know, she
- 26:40Speaker 3: like feels like good about her decision making, but she
- 26:43Speaker 3: didn't make it seem like she was happy in love
- 26:46Speaker 3: and watching this. My only concerned about just being so
- 26:52Speaker 3: firm on saying that she doesn't end up with anyone
- 26:56Speaker 3: is because I think that that's what they're trying to
- 26:58Speaker 3: make it seem like having her put down the rows
- 27:01Speaker 3: and yeah, pick it up and put it down and
- 27:03Speaker 3: lah lah lah.
- 27:04Speaker 1: My feeling is that something happens in the course of
- 27:08Speaker 1: the season that will make us very angry at a
- 27:10Speaker 1: few of these guys, and that Jen is going to
- 27:13Speaker 1: get the raw into the deal here and she's not
- 27:16Speaker 1: going to end up with anybody, and she's actually going
- 27:17Speaker 1: to end up hurt like she's not. I don't think
- 27:21Speaker 1: she's deciding not to end up with anybody because she's
- 27:23Speaker 1: just not interested. I think she ends up with nobody
- 27:26Speaker 1: because she ends up getting hurt. And that's going to
- 27:30Speaker 1: be very controversial. It is going to be extremely polarizing.
- 27:35Speaker 1: It's also going to be very unfortunate. But this is
- 27:39Speaker 1: my this is my theory. I've been wrong before, I've
- 27:43Speaker 1: been wrong recently. I could be wrong now, but I
- 27:46Speaker 1: would I'm in your camp, Ashley. I think you and
- 27:48Speaker 1: I here at the almost famous podcast, we'll say with
- 27:51Speaker 1: confidence we do not believe Jen ends up with anyone.
- 27:55Speaker 3: And I think it will be the first time that
- 27:57Speaker 3: she doesn't like a lead, doesn't end up with somebody
- 28:01Speaker 3: for the reason that it's going to be you know
- 28:02Speaker 3: what I mean, Like we've seen Brad. What I guess
- 28:05Speaker 3: Brad was just like I don't really feel it enough
- 28:07Speaker 3: with you or like that. Those people will be like
- 28:10Speaker 3: I just kind of want to date you. I feel like, yeah,
- 28:13Speaker 3: you're right, there will be it'll be new, the ending
- 28:18Speaker 3: will be unprecedented. Speaking of a guy comes back from
- 28:23Speaker 3: her past who has not put on the show before.
- 28:26Speaker 3: This is not like a Nick situation. This is somebody
- 28:32Speaker 3: who's just random in her life, past boyfriend or something,
- 28:37Speaker 3: and he wants to join the cast. Do you think
- 28:39Speaker 3: he ends up joining the cast? No?
- 28:41Speaker 1: I think this is way overplayed. I think this wouldn't
- 28:43Speaker 1: have been a very small storyline that makes less sense.
- 28:47Speaker 1: I think he's probably just like a hanger on her
- 28:49Speaker 1: who shows up and she asks the group and the
- 28:52Speaker 1: group's like, no, that's stupid, and she's like, I agree,
- 28:54Speaker 1: this guy doesn't stand a chance, and he gets out
- 28:56Speaker 1: of there. I don't think he joins the cast.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Well.
- 28:58Speaker 1: And I say that because she's very clear in episode
- 29:01Speaker 1: one that she's never had strong feelings for anybody in
- 29:04Speaker 1: her past.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Right, so she sent her three boyfriends. Doesn't so much
- 29:08Speaker 3: she's hanging on to anyone. She keeps saying that, like,
- 29:10Speaker 3: the guys in my past are in my past for
- 29:12Speaker 3: a reason, like sure, I've learned from them and I
- 29:16Speaker 3: do not want to be with them, so.
- 29:17Speaker 1: I'd have no I would think that there'd be nobody
- 29:20Speaker 1: that would pop in that she'd be like, oh but
- 29:22Speaker 1: I forgot about you.
- 29:23Speaker 3: You knus it could be somebody who you know, things
- 29:27Speaker 3: didn't go all the way with, you know, she didn't
- 29:30Speaker 3: get into a relationship with them, but like there was
- 29:31Speaker 3: always a crush there.
- 29:34Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 29:35Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm believing it, Okay, I think
- 29:37Speaker 1: I don't think this is a big storyline. I think
- 29:39Speaker 1: that it comes and goes and it's a great teaser.
- 29:42Speaker 1: But I do think the teaser that sticks is that
- 29:45Speaker 1: in the end, Jin's really hurt and we're all going
- 29:49Speaker 1: to be really mad about it, and we're going to say,
- 29:51Speaker 1: what about that love story? And I won't have to
- 29:54Speaker 1: wait till Jones season to hopefully find one, and we're
- 29:56Speaker 1: all going to be really upset because we liked gin
- 29:59Speaker 1: And and we like her with somebody but rock and
- 30:04Speaker 1: roll Gin She's gonna be great. She's She's already on
- 30:07Speaker 1: Night one showing signs to be captivating, to be funny,
- 30:13Speaker 1: to be quick witted, and to be very flirtatious, which
- 30:17Speaker 1: is obviously a very good thing for a lead. When
- 30:20Speaker 1: they it feels like she has forty dudes. At this point,
- 30:23Speaker 1: it's crazy, who goes to Australia.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Ashley.
- 30:28Speaker 1: For the rest of the season, we'll be here at
- 30:30Speaker 1: the Almost Famous Podcast, at least one of us will
- 30:32Speaker 1: be every week.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Now.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I think we should just sign off by saying, Ashley,
- 30:36Speaker 1: I don't know if this is the week, but if
- 30:38Speaker 1: it is, I wish you the best.
- 30:39Speaker 2: If it's not, we'll see you next week.
- 30:42Speaker 1: The Almost Famous Podcast won't stop with or without Ashley
- 30:45Speaker 1: and myself here.
