- 0:14Aaron judging, saying that he can't win the big game, Michael
- 0:17Jordan said. I played 82 games.
- 0:20You don't see the fuck doing that, A?
- 0:22Game where you got to go before? I told you, giant feet Saquon
- 0:27Barkley, this quarterback in the NFL?
- 0:44Really. I can come through my mind

- 2:41It's been crazy in this really besides basketball and, and, and
- 2:45really what are, what are we going on?
- 2:46Week 12, Week 11, Week 12, Week 12?
- 2:49And it's crazy. The NFL season goes so fast.
- 2:54We're, we're almost done with the NFL season.
- 2:57We're we're, we're going to be speaking about the playoffs in
- 2:59about a month. It's crazy.
- 3:01I remember when the the first game came around in September,
- 3:04at the end of September, October, and we were talking
- 3:07about, wow, the season's here. How fast did it come?
- 3:10And now how fast is it going to go?
- 3:13And if you're a New York fan, there's nothing to be excited
- 3:16about as the the New York Giants are now out completely out of
- 3:20the playoff and we all know The Jets were out in Week 1, so.
- 3:23Don't worry, we get to watch Daniel Jones and Sauce Gardner
- 3:26in the playoffs. And how about Saquon Barkley?
- 3:29We might, we might see Saquon versus Daniel in.
- 3:32That would be your dream, I know.
- 3:34I know about Dream. It's definitely something that I
- 3:36would like to see. I would like to stick it to all
- 3:38the Giant fans out there that just absolutely hated on Daniel
- 3:41Jones and then everybody booing Saquon Barkley and he goes over
- 3:45there to MetLife. Meanwhile, he wanted to be a
- 3:48Giant for life, but the Giants. And so Shane decided, oh, wait,
- 3:52we don't need him, we will part ways.
- 3:54And he almost breaks Eric Dickerson's record last year and
- 3:57he wins the Super Bowl finally after leaving the New York
- 4:00Giants and going to their arch nemesis.
- 4:02Yes, my Philadelphia Bulls. Yes, it's it's a wonderful thing
- 4:07Java. I've always wondered, I've
- 4:08always hold on. I always wondered what it was
- 4:10like. I would love to get somebody
- 4:12next time we get an athlete, like if they've ever gone like
- 4:16at the trade deadline from a team out of it to a team that's
- 4:18impotent. Like I wonder what that feels
- 4:20like cuz I never did it. So I don't know that feeling.
- 4:24But what it's like to go maybe from one extreme to the other,
- 4:27like yeah, we're in it. I get traded because they're
- 4:29yard sailing well. We had, we haven't had him on
- 4:32with you, Jabba, but our friend Kenyon Barner won back-to-back
- 4:35Super Bowls with two different teams and then he won three
- 4:38total and he told Errol he's going to say he would send of
- 4:40his Patriots championship ring. He he was going, no, he was
- 4:44actually going to send me his Patriots jersey sign by him,
- 4:47which I didn't want. And I told him you can keep it.
- 4:50I don't want anything with the new New England Patriots logo on
- 4:54anything. But I, Kenyon Barner is a great
- 4:57guy. And by the way, me and him have
- 4:58kind of like the same dressing style.
- 5:01So we we have the same, you know, get UPS the way we shop in
- 5:06the same. Places and you're both Tauruses
- 5:08and we're both. Tauruses, I think.
- 5:10I think I was. Born, I think was that was a
- 5:12Taurus. Zodiac side, Zodiac side, we're
- 5:15both. Taurus.
- 5:16I think I think Kenyon was April 21st and Errol's April 29th.
- 5:20I think it was. We're both Tauruses and.
- 5:22So what's my SO? My son would be a Taurus.
- 5:25What was his birthday? What's his birthday?
- 5:26He's. The 25th.
- 5:28Yes, he's a Taurus. He's a Taurus.
- 5:29Yeah, absolutely. Me and him.
- 5:31Me and him would get along. Me and your son.
- 5:33I always get along with Tauruses if they're.
- 5:36I don't even get along with my son.
- 5:38You won't get. Along.
- 5:38I get along, I'm serious and a lot of people say.
- 5:41Just kidding. I've been around, I've been
- 5:43around a lot of different athletes and even just people
- 5:46that were Tauruses for some reason.
- 5:49It's like some kind of connection.
- 5:50It's Tauruses have this like people have this perception that
- 5:55Tauruses are mean and they don't have good personalities.
- 5:58That's completely. You guys believe in all that?
- 6:00100 percent, 100%. I don't believe in the moons and
- 6:04if the moon turns one way or the colors of the moon, I don't
- 6:07believe in any of that. But I do believe in some essence
- 6:10of the the understanding of the Zodiac signs and connecting
- 6:15those Zodiac. Signs we're completely
- 6:16different, like moons and new moons and stuff is like very
- 6:19important in our culture. Yeah.
- 6:20So like, and I, I get some of it, like, but if you look it up
- 6:24enough, like everybody messes with somebody and like, some of
- 6:27it's crazy how accurate it can be though.
- 6:29So there's got to be, I guess, some legitimacy, right?
- 6:31There has to be and there's people that study it.
- 6:34I I've actually. Over the years.
- 6:36Went to I, I've met guys that I've worked with that actually
- 6:39went to school to learn astronomy and I'm like, you
- 6:42actually went to school for astronomy, he says.
- 6:44It's unbelievable, some of the stuff that you learn when you
- 6:47take. Those one one of the most fun
- 6:48classes I took in college. It was like a pretty wreck.
- 6:51It was like a it was a night class that all the athletes took
- 6:53and it was awesome. I'm sure, and the teachers are
- 6:56probably damn cool. I didn't, I didn't know shit
- 6:58from Shinola, but it was cool to look at like all this stuff and
- 7:01what it meant. I like that cut.
- 7:03Speedy Shinola. Shinola.
- 7:05Shinola you talk about names and, you know, making up words.
- 7:11There's another one for the old jobster.
- 7:14Shinola that's. That's a saying here.
- 7:17I don't. I don't think it's a word, but
- 7:19it's a saying for sure. Who the hell uses Shinola if you
- 7:23use that here in new? York, you come to Nebraska,
- 7:25you'll hear it plenty of time. Shinola, I'm going to Shinola
- 7:29you. I'm going to lick it and stick
- 7:31it and Shinola you anyways. Yeah, you don't know shit from
- 7:34Shinola. You don't know shit from
- 7:36Shinola, you don't know Speedy, but you know Shinola.
- 7:39Yeah, I knew. I knew it was around.
- 7:44The population of. Nebraska's.
- 7:45Higher than the amount of people.
- 7:47So how do you improve? You know, how does she use her
- 7:49shinola? Hey, you're not wrong.
- 7:54There's probably more population of Nebraska than people that
- 7:56know me by a landslide. That's true.
- 7:58I think. I think that's saying it could
- 8:01be. Accurate.
- 8:04Thickness is a judgement of size and correlation with population.
- 8:09Mario. And I think Nebraska is one of
- 8:11the more obese states. Either, as far as I know, well,
- 8:14I will say this, and anybody that hasn't or doesn't make up
- 8:18words, well then you're not having fun.
- 8:20I mean, you have to have some kind of words that you've
- 8:24made-up in the past and you want to add it to your dictionary.
- 8:27And there's quite a few on this show over the years that I've
- 8:30made-up. And Speedy would be like, I've
- 8:32never heard of that word before in my entire life, but I'll use
- 8:35it. So hey, listen, you got to talk
- 8:38Jabba and the mouth language. And if you listen to this show,
- 8:42you'll learn what Shinola is. Or moist or moisty if.
- 8:45If you like it moist, you definitely like it moisty, by
- 8:48the way. I will say that's the first time
- 8:50that I've heard the context of moisty.
- 8:53I've definitely heard like moist.
- 8:55That's a that's, that's, that's a New York thing.
- 8:58That's a New York thing because I've, I've heard moisty many,
- 9:01many times. So it's not just me that's ever
- 9:04used the word moisty, but nevertheless, it is it, it
- 9:08definitely is a terminology that I've heard people use over here
- 9:11in Long Island and New York. But Speaking of, of all that, I
- 9:16will say this before we get into our content because we got we
- 9:19got we got some things. And like I said, we might not
- 9:22have a guest tonight. So we're going to add some
- 9:24content on the way. And I'm think I'm going to
- 9:25surprise you with some of my basketball content because I've
- 9:29been arguing with people on social media and friends today
- 9:32on, you know, protecting players that I stick up for all the time
- 9:36that I grew up rooting for and guys that I wasn't growing up
- 9:39rooting for, but I don't disrespect their games.
- 9:43But I, I will say this, when, when you sit back and you argue
- 9:48sports and everybody has their own opinion and you go on social
- 9:51media and, and some of the takes I, the MMAUFC take over the last
- 9:5824 hours has been hilarious. And the fact that these guys
- 10:03actually come out and tell me that Islam is a stand up fighter
- 10:07and he's a good stand up fighter.
- 10:08He's a all around combination fighter.
- 10:11That's absolutely wrong. And, and, and I don't care what
- 10:14you argue with and you can say whatever you want.
- 10:17I'm not going to argue with a bunch of idiots that have no
- 10:21argument behind it and the stupidity what I've been reading
- 10:26and and the challenging attacks on my direct messenger is
- 10:31hilarious. So thank you to all the fans out
- 10:33there that give me a reason to go back and forth with you on
- 10:37social media. I am not a social media guy.
- 10:39I have guys running my social medias because I don't even want
- 10:43to waste my time arguing with you idiots.
- 10:46But I love it. It's it's definitely something
- 10:48when you call me a demon or I demonize certain things when it
- 10:53comes to sports, it makes me laugh.
- 10:55So that's all I'm going to say. Speaking of a demon, I've always
- 11:01thought he was. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr
- 11:04told ESP NS Anthony Slater that he believes the faster pace of
- 11:08play and lack of time off between games has led to more
- 11:14soft tissue injuries. Yanis wemby and now castle from
- 11:20the San Antonio Spurs. John Moran, Anthony Davis, Drew
- 11:24Holiday are all injuries that have happened already.
- 11:29Kerr argues that teams have pushed the pace to shoot more
- 11:34threes dull like the Warriors did for years when they were
- 11:39winning titles and and leading to more wear and tear on
- 11:44players. Kerr says he has had to change
- 11:48his own tech tactics sometimes with the Golden State Warriors
- 11:53as they have had three players over 35 years of age and are
- 11:58trying to manage a long 82 game regular season.
- 12:05ESP NS Tony Kornheiser said that the NBA should get rid of the
- 12:11three-point shot to slow the pace down while ESP NS Michael
- 12:16Wilbon Wilbon says they should reduce the regular season to 70
- 12:22games. Kornheiser knows it is extreme,
- 12:25but said getting rid of of the three Wood Forest teams to get
- 12:31better shots closer to the basket and play at a slower
- 12:35pace. Wilbon said on said the NBA
- 12:39could remove 12 games from the schedule and add more rest days
- 12:44for teams, but believes neither the players or the owners would
- 12:48go for giving up any kind of money.
- 12:51They would lose by giving up games.
- 12:55Now, I don't care what Kornheiser says at Wilbon.
- 12:58And these guys are older guys, older journalists then.
- 13:01And by the way, here and there I watch their show.
- 13:03It's it's pretty funny how they go back and forth, one from the,
- 13:07I guess you could say the West or central West and and one from
- 13:11the East. And they could go back and forth
- 13:14and argue their points. And they're very good at that.
- 13:16And, and some of the stuff I couldn't understand and I
- 13:18wouldn't understand them, but this Steve Kerr thing and, and
- 13:23of course Steve Kerr wants to go out there and open his mouth
- 13:26because of the injuries that he has seen.
- 13:29He he actually comes from the San Antonio, I guess the
- 13:33Popovich tree and he's been there and he started as a a
- 13:37coach and assistant coach under Popovich and the fact that he is
- 13:42sticking up for Giannis and Wembe and Castle.
- 13:44Obviously there's a back end reason behind it and Popovich is
- 13:48no longer coaching in the NBA is retired.
- 13:51But the the injury situation is definitely something that stands
- 13:55out. Now.
- 13:55Do I think it's because of the games that are played?
- 13:58This has been going on forever, 82 game seasons all the way from
- 14:04the 50s and the 60s. I don't even know when it was
- 14:06last changed up to 82 games. What I do know that there's
- 14:12enough players on a bench. There's thirteen players and all
- 14:16of them are getting paid millions and millions of
- 14:18dollars. It doesn't matter if it's the
- 14:2013th guy, the 14th guy or how many guys are on the bench.
- 14:23They're making millions of dollars.
- 14:25There is no excuse on why there has to be single out games or
- 14:29games that need to be split up because these guys need a rest
- 14:33or they're getting too much tissue injuries.
- 14:36Everybody gets injured. This is not a full contact
- 14:39sport. It's not.
- 14:41And now that LeBron James is in the league and when you lay a
- 14:43pinky on him, you're going to a free throw line or you have
- 14:46James Harden double dribbling every single time he goes to the
- 14:50hole and he's holding the ball 5 or 5 or 6 steps.
- 14:53There is no excuse to the change of the NBA and why they want to
- 14:57reduce games or even bring in more reduced time for players to
- 15:02get better or safer. Safe time that they can sit the
- 15:06bench and ride the bench. LeBron James plays 6766 games in
- 15:10a season. And this guy, he was doing it at
- 15:14the top of his game when he was in Miami.
- 15:16He would play 68 games and then sit out the rest of the games
- 15:20because he he's getting ready for the playoffs.
- 15:22And for years Greg Popovich said, hey, you know what?
- 15:25I don't have to play my some of my star players back-to-back
- 15:28days. I have enough players that and I
- 15:31I run a a completely different offense and defense where I can
- 15:34play enough players and win most of those games are some of those
- 15:38games even without starting my stars.
- 15:41And we've seen this before, but Michael Jordan never did that.
- 15:45Scottie Pippen never did that. Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley,
- 15:48John Starks, they never did it. Hakeem Olajuwon never did it.
- 15:52Charles Barkley, as long as he was healthy, never did it.
- 15:55Clyde Drexler. I could go on and on and on.
- 15:58As a matter of fact, Magic Johnson said over the last
- 16:01couple of years when a lot of different coaches were coming
- 16:04out and saying, well, maybe we should cut the the time out or
- 16:07cut, cut the games out. It would be better for
- 16:09basketball and better for better basketball and and more
- 16:12competitive basketball. Basketball.
- 16:14How do you assume it's going to be more competitive basketball
- 16:17if you're cutting down games? That's what I want to know.
- 16:20And here's another thing that doesn't make any sense to my
- 16:23thoughts on Steve Kerr's perception of the way the league
- 16:26is transitioning it. If you care so much that players
- 16:30are getting hurt shooting the three, why did you even push it
- 16:33and bring it more to the league when you did?
- 16:36When Mark Jackson, Mark Jackson was coaching the Golden State
- 16:40Warriors, he preached defense, he preached defense.
- 16:43That's what he was. Mark Jackson was all about get
- 16:45back, play defense. Now, did it work for the Golden
- 16:48State Warriors at the time with a young Steph Curry and a Klay
- 16:51Thompson, maybe Draymond Green, but this was a young team trying
- 16:55to figure out what their identity was.
- 16:57When Mark Jackson eventually parted ways, or they parted ways
- 17:00with Mark Jackson and brought Steve Curry in and brought in a
- 17:02triangle offense and a different style of offense, the chucking
- 17:06up threes started to really become more apparent to the way
- 17:12they wanted to run their offense.
- 17:13And that doesn't mean that Steph Curry isn't the greatest 3 point
- 17:16shooter we've ever seen or Klay Thompson.
- 17:18It doesn't have the fastest release I've ever seen because
- 17:21both guys were special shooters. Both guys are Hall of Farmers as
- 17:25they call themselves the Splash Brothers.
- 17:28But what bothers me more than anything is when you have a
- 17:31coach that's won multiple championships, who believed in
- 17:35the way the NBA process was when he took over this team and the
- 17:39pace of the game and how he ran this team really at that speed,
- 17:45that speed pace, that shooting pace, where they were chucking
- 17:47up 35 to 43 pointers. And he didn't have a problem
- 17:50with it. Why now that the players are 35
- 17:53years old and they're at the tail ends of their career where
- 17:57he's trying to make excuses or trying to find ways where they
- 18:00could cut out games or spread out some of the games where his
- 18:03players could be ready game in and game out.
- 18:07And then when you think about it, the NBA has really become a
- 18:10playoff game. Nobody cares about the regular
- 18:12season, including these players, including these players.
- 18:16And we've seen this over and over and over again.
- 18:18We've heard players and even analyst Charles Barkley came out
- 18:22last year on TNT, and he said these players don't really start
- 18:25playing until three weeks before the season is over.
- 18:29When they're playing or fighting for a playoff spot or they're
- 18:31getting ready for the playoffs and they want to make sure that
- 18:34they're 100% healthy or the team is working In Sync with one
- 18:37another. Charles Barkley came out and
- 18:39said it. He says this is ruined the game
- 18:42and the and really the transition of the game where
- 18:45Charles Barkley, the some of the great players from the dream
- 18:48team of 92. When we talk about, I would
- 18:51believe the best assembled team I've ever seen with John
- 18:54Stockton and Karl Malone and Magic Johnson and Larry Bird and
- 18:59Robinson. And I'm not going to mention
- 19:01Christian Lehner because you know my opinion.
- 19:02That's that Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and all those
- 19:06guys. I, when I, when I look at that
- 19:08team, those guys and the way they played, they played at a
- 19:13high pace. Bodies would be beaten up,
- 19:16beaten up year in and year out because those guys would play 82
- 19:20games. They wouldn't be sitting out 10
- 19:23or 15 games getting ready for the playoffs.
- 19:25No, they wanted to make sure that they were In Sync with each
- 19:27other. They were ready to get and make
- 19:29that run all the way for an NBA championship, knowing that
- 19:33Michael Jordan was the most dominant player in the early 90s
- 19:37all the way into when he retired in 98.
- 19:41I honestly believe when you think of guys like Steve Kerr,
- 19:47Gregg Popovich, and even over the years, Pat Riley complaining
- 19:51about the way the games are really brought, really put
- 19:56together before the season started and how they schedule
- 19:59these teams and and schedule games.
- 20:01I think a lot of these guys are the play the the coaches that
- 20:05really have pushed the game to that next level.
- 20:08Here's another guy. Jeff Van Gundy, who's become a
- 20:10coach again, He's an assistant coach.
- 20:12Jeff Van Gundy is a guy who lost all his hair, by the way,
- 20:15probably coaching basketball. The one thing that I couldn't
- 20:19stand more than anything was the the pace that Jeff Van Gundy
- 20:23liked to run his defenses with the New York Knicks.
- 20:27And it looked like he was wearing out some of those
- 20:30players, the Chris Childs of the world, which we'll get on the
- 20:32show again, and the Charlie Wards and the Patrick Ewings and
- 20:37Charles Oakley's and Xavier McDaniels, all those guys,
- 20:40Anthony Mason. And I just thought that the the
- 20:42Knicks were really run out all the way going into the playoffs.
- 20:47The the Knicks were so tired. It was amazing the way they play
- 20:51defense at a high pace. And that was a Pat Riley
- 20:54defense. How they can go as far as they
- 20:57did in the 90s, especially 94 when they went all the way to
- 21:00the Finals, when Jeff Van Gundy was one of those guys that ran
- 21:03that defense, defense like a drill Sergeant.
- 21:06It's not like that anymore. Defense is not played like that
- 21:09in the NBA. It's all fast-paced shoot 3.
- 21:11And now I blame that on the Golden State Warriors.
- 21:14I blame that on Steve Kerr. Because Steve Kerr, when he has
- 21:19to make an an excuse or has to find something to point his
- 21:23finger at, he's finding a way where he can benefit and his
- 21:27team could benefit because his team is old, worn out, not the
- 21:31same players, not players that can go in week in and week out
- 21:35and play a double header or play back-to-back days.
- 21:39And to me that's an excuse. Because I look at the schedule
- 21:41in the NBA and most teams play 3, maybe four games a week at
- 21:46best. There are sometimes that teams
- 21:48only play 2 games a week and they spread it out the way they
- 21:52do. There's no excuse there.
- 21:54There really is nothing. The NBA is not a full contact
- 21:58sport. The NBA, yes, it's back and
- 22:00forth, running up and down the court, but you don't use enough
- 22:04players on your bench. Why do you have 13 players on
- 22:06your bench? Why do you have 14 players on
- 22:09your bench if you're not going to use them?
- 22:12You have these players, you're paying them three $4 million.
- 22:16What is the lowest paid guy right now in the NBA making?
- 22:20He's got to be making over $1,000,000.
- 22:22It's not like you have to pay 54 guys or 56 guys on a a football
- 22:26team. I mean honestly, think about it
- 22:31and there's an excuse for everything.
- 22:33All these coaches, all these players are going to make some
- 22:36kind of excuse. How about this?
- 22:38Why are NBA players making as much as they're making in an 82
- 22:41game season? Think about it.
- 22:44Steph Curry's making what he's making about 50 million a year.
- 22:48More than that now, he just got an extension last year.
- 22:50Joel Embiid, who barely ever plays, who doesn't want to play
- 22:53a double header, who's making 50 million a year.
- 22:55They have guys that are playing well, was playing for the the
- 22:59Brooklyn Nets that barely stuffed on the clues, making 40
- 23:02million a year. How is that fair?
- 23:05Think about it, you're going to complain.
- 23:07If you think about it right now, there's 82 games in a season and
- 23:13Joel Embiid is making 52 and he's playing, let's say in the
- 23:17last What is the average amount of games Joellen Beat has
- 23:20played? No more than. 5050 games, so
- 23:23he's making. A million, just say 50.
- 23:25He's making $1,000,000 a game, $1,000,000 a game.
- 23:30Think about it and he's not even sometimes in some games because
- 23:34of his knees problems, he might not even be playing more than 15
- 23:37minutes. Could you imagine make
- 23:39$1,000,000 for 15 minutes of playing schoolyard ball.
- 23:43Think about it. And this guy Steve Kerr bitching
- 23:46and moaning after winning multiple championships over
- 23:49there. He was handed Mark Jackson's
- 23:51team and this guy's bitching and moaning about well, his players
- 23:55are getting up there in age and and shooting up threes, wears
- 23:59and tears. They're, they're, they're, what
- 24:02do they call it? What was he saying?
- 24:03All this crap that he's saying, tearing wear and tear on their
- 24:07bodies and, and all this crap that they're having and dealing
- 24:10with over the last couple of years.
- 24:12There's no excuse for NBA players, hockey players.
- 24:15I could see the excuse, the wear and tear of their bodies.
- 24:18Think about it. They're playing 82 games in the
- 24:20season, a full contact sport, going up and down the ice,
- 24:23beating the hell out of each other.
- 24:25They're not making nearly as much.
- 24:27The highest paid NHL player is making, what, 22 million?
- 24:31Yeah, I think Mcdavid's new ext 20 million. $20 million and he's
- 24:36playing. And by the way, Connor McDavid
- 24:38is probably playing about 78 games, 79 games.
- 24:43I mean, these bitches, and I'm going to say bitches because
- 24:47these NBA players are poor, sopping babies.
- 24:52That's what they are. They're babies.
- 24:55They're going to cry about my hamstring turning me.
- 24:59I'm going to sit down. I'm still going to get paid.
- 25:01Give me a break. And these football players,
- 25:04they're they're getting their heads beaten in.
- 25:06You saw Cam Scataboo, Cam Scataboo's leg bent one way and
- 25:11his body went the other. He's making what rookie
- 25:14contract? He's making what, 250,000?
- 25:17Fourth round pick, rookie money. I mean, come on, these guys beat
- 25:21their bodies. He's bashing his head in.
- 25:23He's bashing his freaking head in and he's not making anywhere
- 25:27close to the guy who's not never stepping on an NBA court making
- 25:311.5 million doing nothing what handing a ball to the coach when
- 25:37the ball goes out of bounds there it is scout a Boo is 4
- 25:42years 5.27 million great I that's that's great like we're
- 25:46we're bringing up a rookie 5 point.
- 25:48What is that just? This isn't a reasonable scout a
- 25:50ball on the screen. Was that a contract?
- 25:52Was that a new contract? Because out as a rookie who is a
- 25:55fourth round pick get 5.2 million.
- 25:58I mean, come on, Joe Shane, that's, that's the idiot.
- 26:02Joe Shane was the brightest either.
- 26:03Joe Shane's giving a rookie who's a fourth round pick 5.2
- 26:06million for four years. Great job, you know, great job.
- 26:09What an idiot. Because usually an average
- 26:12running back that's a fourth round pick isn't making anywhere
- 26:15close to that. They're making, I mean, cream
- 26:18hunt. I remember when he was a rookie
- 26:20with the Chiefs, it wasn't the Chiefs, it was the Chiefs.
- 26:23He was making like $250,000. He.
- 26:26Was very don't they? Don't they slot their money?
- 26:29Well, they changed the rule a little bit to do a based on
- 26:31performance. I think it's starting after the
- 26:332022 class, so they can get a little more now.
- 26:35But again, it still really doesn't justify as much as where
- 26:38you see the spikes coming in versus, you would say, a value
- 26:41pick. And I think Jeff was explaining
- 26:43it to us years ago, There's like even a particular range within
- 26:45the first round to like the number one pick.
- 26:47There's a drop off between #1 and then it's like 2 through 10
- 26:49after that. So a second round day three pick
- 26:52gets even less. And then like Errol saying,
- 26:54normally base the performance base to the fourth round on.
- 26:57Unless you're an idiot GM like Joe Shane giving a guy a four
- 27:01year, he's a fourth round pick for 4.65 point.
- 27:04Whatever he's getting, it's ridiculous.
- 27:06Should Doreen know he's a quarterback?
- 27:08They're going to pay a quarterback that kind of money,
- 27:10especially with his, I guess, his his aura as as Mr. yes, Mr.
- 27:17Prime Blind. That's his new nickname.
- 27:19I got a whole story up right now on the worldwide Sports Radio
- 27:23Network. I wrote a beautiful story about
- 27:25Mr. Prime Blind. That's his new nickname.
- 27:28I gave in it. I've given Mr. Shudor Sanders
- 27:31his nickname, the Gremlin and Mr. Prime Blind.
- 27:35OK, And there's a reason why. And if you read the story,
- 27:38you'll, you'll see why I gave him that, that wonderful
- 27:41nickname. But the fact is, is a lot of
- 27:45coaches are finding ways to make excuses.
- 27:48I'll give Tom Thibodeau a little bit more credit that he a lot of
- 27:50people probably don't give him. He didn't care.
- 27:55He didn't care how many players were on his bench.
- 27:58He made sure that if he had superstar players and he wanted
- 28:02to push his superstar players, it doesn't matter if there was a
- 28:05double header back-to-back games.
- 28:07It didn't matter if they had to play three games in in that
- 28:10week. He is playing his guys 44 to 48
- 28:13minutes. Did it help the Knicks in the
- 28:14playoffs? No, but he was all about pushing
- 28:17his players to that next level. You wanted to make sure that he
- 28:19kept these guys in physical great condition.
- 28:23Now you have guys like Steve of care who, you know, he doesn't
- 28:26care that he has three. Well, yeah, he cares that he has
- 28:292 or 335 year old players, but he doesn't care the fact that
- 28:34the way the league and the way the league has transitioned in
- 28:37the way the NBA has transitioned, the way the Golden
- 28:41State Warriors has transitioned the game.
- 28:43Now that they're old and they can't do the things they used to
- 28:46could do, or they couldn't really keep up the way they
- 28:49played in those days, They're now all of a sudden backlashing
- 28:52on the way. The NBA should change the rules
- 28:55of the NBA because it doesn't work out for them.
- 28:57Yeah, and they also, they look at the hypocrisy of it too.
- 29:00Like you said, Steve Kerr is the one that really accelerated the
- 29:02three-point process. Obviously it was already going
- 29:04up anyway because in the 2000s, even in the early 2000s, there
- 29:07was very skilled guards that were coming into the league too.
- 29:09But the three-point revolution really started because of him
- 29:12and because of the Splash Brothers with the Golden State
- 29:15Warriors. So him coming out and saying,
- 29:16oh, now all of a sudden it's a big problem at the pace of play,
- 29:19there's too much transition game.
- 29:20Well, you were the one that accelerated.
- 29:22Gregg Popovich was the one that kind of started the transition
- 29:24game, the makeshift transition game, but he wasn't like bullish
- 29:27on like the volume of threes that were being made.
- 29:29You accelerated to another level.
- 29:31So it's a copycat league. Like we say with other sports,
- 29:34teams are going to duplicate that.
- 29:36And now you're seeing these teams build on a different level
- 29:39of it. Big men that can shoot, big men
- 29:41that can ball handle, which UPS your way of thinking with the
- 29:45Splash Brothers, granted, they still want another championship
- 29:47in 2022, but still they've expected it to another level
- 29:50where these bigs or ball handlers like Luka Doncic and
- 29:54Jason Tatum, guys like that are the ones taking the ball up and
- 29:56moving the ball, spacing the floor very well.
- 29:59And that's all going to come because of the faster style of
- 30:01game that you transition. Speedy, do you believe the balls
- 30:04of this guy complaining about teams, you know, pacing
- 30:07themselves and shooting threes when he he has pushed his team
- 30:11to that level all these years? And now all of a sudden now
- 30:14teams are copycatting them and they're tearing and a wear and
- 30:17tear of their bodies because they're going up, up and down
- 30:19the court trying to Chuck up threes.
- 30:21And he was the one that really, I wouldn't say brought it to the
- 30:24league, but he's really revolutionized that style of
- 30:27game Now he's the one that's complaining about.
- 30:29Yeah, he's the one that accelerated it to the level that
- 30:32it's gotten to and as quickly as it got to because obviously the
- 30:35three-point shots existed in the NBA since the 80s, but it wasn't
- 30:38really like the predominant thing probably up until maybe
- 30:41the mid 2000s like more. There were good, more good 3
- 30:43point shooters when guys like Jamal Crawford and guys like
- 30:45that game in the league, little shooting specialist Kyle Korver.
- 30:48But it wasn't accelerated where everybody had to shoot.
- 30:51Like pretty much you have to shoot now if you want to get
- 30:53drafted into the NBA or sign even a 10 day contract to get
- 30:56into the NBA. Now, if you're a big man that
- 30:58can't shoot, look at all these big men that get released or
- 31:00they get signed to minimum base contracts like the Nets, signed
- 31:03like Andre Drummond and DeAndre Jordan to 1. $1,000,000 deal.
- 31:06Who's the kid that Portland drafted a couple of years ago?
- 31:09Oh, Scoot. Scoot.
- 31:11He couldn't shoot. Yeah.
- 31:12And look, Scoot was the second pick, right behind Web and Yama.
- 31:16I think it was second and and he's not even in the NBA
- 31:19anymore. I don't even think he's on the
- 31:20team. I think he's playing in AG
- 31:22League. In the G League, can't shoot.
- 31:23He's been up and down even last year.
- 31:25Oh, he is in the NBA. All right, OK.
- 31:28Yeah, but but Jared, last year he was.
- 31:30Just shows you how much I watched the Portland Trail
- 31:32Blazers and nobody. Cares not only that.
- 31:34Scoot is not very good, not only.
- 31:35That he was up and down, up and down last year.
- 31:38So they had they really never trusted his development because
- 31:41he can't shoot. Yeah, he's fast, yeah, he's
- 31:43athletic. But if you can't shoot,
- 31:44especially as a point guard, it's very hard for you to make
- 31:46her now. Going to the other comments or
- 31:48the other guys were saying you're not going to get rid of
- 31:50the three at this point like Tony Connor Heiser wants to do,
- 31:52because the players are developed now to be that way.
- 31:54So that's not going to happen. As far as reducing the regular
- 31:56season, I've always been fine with that I think.
- 31:59You want to reduce. This season, well, I think
- 32:01because you already see a lot of guys low manage anyway, we
- 32:04talked. About it why would you bring the
- 32:05tournament into the NBA season? That's.
- 32:07Stupid too, I'm with you on that, but.
- 32:09OK, so why would you reduce the game if how could you reduce the
- 32:12game when all the other players in the 80s and the 90s were OK
- 32:15with it and they were doing just fine with it.
- 32:17Now all of a sudden, because these are these guys are prima
- 32:19donnas, they're making double the amount of money, triple the
- 32:22amount of money then the other players are making in the 80s
- 32:24and the 90s. You're going to say, oh, you
- 32:26know what? It's OK, let's reduce the game.
- 32:28Let's get it over with. That's.
- 32:29Ridiculous speedy. Well, I'm absolutely I'm judging
- 32:31it also more from the what we always talk about, Oh, the NBA
- 32:34doesn't matter the regular season.
- 32:35Anymore, if you're going to make that kind of money, cut the
- 32:38money out of the way. I agree with that too.
- 32:39Like the NBA, luxury tax is kind of a phantom thing.
- 32:43We've always seen teams try to work around it too.
- 32:45Obviously we talk about the Clippers try to work around it
- 32:47in illegal ways. But nonetheless, like I always
- 32:50also said too, like because the NBA regular season doesn't
- 32:52matter. It's even more so when they
- 32:54expanded the playoffs a lot more too.
- 32:56I always say it was saying reduce the playoffs.
- 32:58And you know what job is going to go with because he's a former
- 33:00player and he doesn't want to cut anything out when it comes
- 33:03to money player. He wants the players to make
- 33:05more money. And and I, I would say that a
- 33:07lot of athletes would say that make as much money as you
- 33:09possibly can. But here's the problem.
- 33:12If you're willing and able to do something like that, and I don't
- 33:15think the NBA is ever going to do that because ownership is not
- 33:19going to allow unless LeBron James, the LJA, gets involved
- 33:22with it. And he steps in and says, well,
- 33:25you know, my ankle's hurting me. I I don't want to play three
- 33:27more years. Don't.
- 33:29Worry LeBron will be a fighter, reducing this, reducing the
- 33:32salary cap now that he's getting all his betting money from all
- 33:34those coaches. I got another postage story for
- 33:36that one too, by the way, Ladies and gentlemen, you're going to
- 33:38love that one too. But the other thing I was.
- 33:41Going to mention too, before you go Jabba and I think there's a
- 33:43difference with the NBA and some of the other sports with the
- 33:45with the payroll discrepancy too.
- 33:47Like obviously baseball players have made the like overall total
- 33:50amount like with the biggest contracts, like Soto's deal, but
- 33:53their lowest contracts are still a lot lower.
- 33:55Like Errol was saying within these NBA contracts and you see
- 33:58all these one year deals with veteran players, football and
- 34:00hockey, forget about it. The salary cap is really stingy
- 34:02in football where players only if your premier position get
- 34:05paid high amount. And hockey?
- 34:07Like we said, Connor McDavid is the best talent in the world.
- 34:10Another tow job. $20 million a year, that would be like a third
- 34:13or fourth option on an NBA team. Yeah, it's weird.
- 34:15I mean, you see NBA is, is weird to me because like you brought
- 34:19up here, it's like these dudes don't have to have as deep
- 34:22benches. So you, I mean, Wally's Irbeck
- 34:23for the last like 5 or 6 years is making like 13 to 19,000,000
- 34:27and he maybe played like 5 minutes like these, some of
- 34:29these astronomical numbers that they're making in basketball,
- 34:33like I just shake my head at sometimes.
- 34:35But yeah, I think from the season perspective, I think it's
- 34:39a little like from the playoffs, how every, you know, every
- 34:43series is 7 games. I mean, I, there's probably ways
- 34:46to break, but I think the game has changed as we've seen a lot
- 34:50of these games change and where the old school guys would be
- 34:52like if we can do it, you can do it.
- 34:54Obviously we're not adding games which the NFL has obviously, but
- 34:58where they're they have that number set in stone of what
- 35:02they're going to do, right? Like that they're taking the
- 35:04load management games off anyways.
- 35:06Hey, I want to play, you know, 60 to 64 games.
- 35:10So do we incentivize the guys to actually like is, is there a
- 35:14tier where if you play 6570, like is there a bonus like you
- 35:19can you structurally do that in your contract or how do you, I
- 35:23guess, make that work to incentivize certain things?
- 35:27Or is pace of play really like you guys brought up and touched
- 35:31on pretty much everything that needs to be said.
- 35:33Like you, you were part of the problem, which I mean, I, I
- 35:37don't think it, it was a problem kind of turned into it the way
- 35:40it is. But that was kind of the reason
- 35:44that we talked about last year with all these, you know, calves
- 35:49and Achilles and all the other stuff isn't like the pace of
- 35:53play. Yeah, they're shooting more
- 35:54threes. But the pace of play is wasn't
- 35:57that kind of the reason of load management was trying to try and
- 36:00like get these injuries down? And we haven't really seen that.
- 36:04So it's like this really hasn't done much as far as what they
- 36:08thought it would do. I I just is, is he just trying
- 36:12to find an out of where blame this on And like, now somebody's
- 36:17going to come up with shoes. Like we kind of touched on it
- 36:20when in the playoffs, like it was, is it Nike shoes, is it
- 36:24Adidas, is it whatever. And now the pace of play, like
- 36:28the pace of play hasn't changed. Like there's been nothing that
- 36:31has that has changed. Like it's not like the shot
- 36:33clock changed, right? It's not like they added
- 36:36something. Changed.
- 36:36You know you. Also, yeah, you Also, it's not
- 36:39like the court changed. You also I.
- 36:41Does now with the NBA Cup. You also brought up shoes and
- 36:44it's so funny. You brought up the shoe thing
- 36:46because there's a story that came out recently.
- 36:49Now people are, you know, writers and journalists are
- 36:53starting to bring up shoes and thinking that that's the point
- 36:56of the reasons why the the players tearing their Achilles
- 37:00in the NBA and and the playoffs. It's so funny because I brought
- 37:03it up and that's what I was saying.
- 37:05And there was a story recently, I forget what writer wrote it.
- 37:08And he believes that the sneakers need to be looked at
- 37:11that all these science stuff that they put together with
- 37:15figuring out the soles and, and, and fabricating the shoes on
- 37:19how, you know, how light they are could be the reason why
- 37:22they're tearing their Achilles as fast as they are and why they
- 37:25were, what, 3 Achilles injuries in the playoffs last year?
- 37:29Three big ones. I mean, Halliburton, Tatum.
- 37:33And then, you know, Dame Dash, I call him Mr. Dame.
- 37:36He's out. So yeah.
- 37:38So I call him Dame Dash or Dame or whatever the hell you want to
- 37:42call him. Dame time, yeah.
- 37:44Dame Time so. So guys, why don't they just do
- 37:47the obvious thing, Just add rest days to the season to extend the
- 37:52season like a week and 1/2 on the front end, another week and
- 37:551/2 on the back end with just rest days.
- 37:57So now that teams don't have to play more than one or two back
- 38:01to backs, I mean, they're playing four games in five days,
- 38:03Errol, you know? This you know why though, they
- 38:06that's like first of all, fish, you're 100% right.
- 38:09But you know the reason they won't this thing they call TV
- 38:13deals, TV deals and they, they have it struck like you're 100%.
- 38:18It's an easy fix. Really, it is an easy fix.
- 38:20But with all these stupid TV deals and and everything that
- 38:24goes into, which is something I'll cover later with the
- 38:28regarding the game of baseball. But yeah, it just sucks because
- 38:31it's it's a really easy fix. And then now it's just they
- 38:35they're just trying to find something else to blame it on
- 38:37when you you really could fix it with one simple task.
- 38:41And you're 100% right. Java.
- 38:43The NBATV deals are the one sense of Java or one sense of
- 38:46James Dolan's Voice of Reason. You know, I, I've been saying
- 38:50the same thing about the NFL though, like why, if you're
- 38:53going to extend the season, which they just did, and you
- 38:56know, they're talking about going to 18 games already and a
- 38:59second bye week, why not? What, what's the, what's the
- 39:03harm to the financial model where you can keep players
- 39:08healthier? And now we we don't have like a
- 39:11bunch of games with third string quarterbacks the last few weeks
- 39:13of the season and 5th string running backs and things like
- 39:17this because you know, that's how the season ends.
- 39:19Every year someone wins the fantasy football championship
- 39:22with some running back that wasn't on a roster at the
- 39:24beginning of the season. That's how it always.
- 39:26Happens I think there's too much crying by certain coaches and
- 39:31because they're big they're big names and they're big voices for
- 39:35the NBA and and again Steve Kerr just got an extension.
- 39:38He just got his big contract and and I he could have retired.
- 39:41He could have walked away and just been an analyst or done a
- 39:44podcast, which he was doing for Sirius radio.
- 39:47No, but he decided his they with the Golden State Warriors.
- 39:49Why? Because he wants to win more
- 39:50titles. Why?
- 39:51Because he believes the league is going to listen to him.
- 39:54I I'm sorry, I am not I have no pity for the Golden State
- 39:58Warriors. I have no pity for Steph Curry
- 40:01or Draymond Green or any of those guys, Jimmy, Jimmy
- 40:05buckets. I have no pity for them.
- 40:07Why? Because they have been doing it
- 40:10forever and really controlling the league and the dominating,
- 40:14dominating the league, the way they pace, they pace their game
- 40:17and they're. Offensive side of the ball and
- 40:19shooting up the three. So cry me a river.
- 40:22If Steve Kerr is going to come out and cry about it, I don't
- 40:25want to hear it from Steve. If it was anybody else doing it,
- 40:28maybe it was, let's say, I don't know, the Charlotte Hornets the
- 40:32the coach of the Charlotte Hornets or one of these bad
- 40:34teams, these bad. Organizations, do you think if
- 40:36it was a player it would it would be different?
- 40:39No, because if Steph Curry did it, I'd be like, cry me a river,
- 40:43cry me a river. You've been doing it forever.
- 40:45But Klay, Klay Thompson. No, instead Klay Thompson is, is
- 40:48attacking, you know, Patrick Beverly about his girl Megan the
- 40:53Stallions. I mean, because, because Patrick
- 40:55Beverly said something so funny. And by the way, I got to give a
- 40:59shout out to Pat Bev. I thought it was really, really
- 41:02funny what he did on his podcast, taking a shot at him
- 41:06and Meg, Meg the Stallions. I I thought it was so funny and,
- 41:11and the fact that Klay Thompson went out of his way to say
- 41:15something because I'm sure Meg probably said you better say
- 41:18something. You're my man, you know, and he
- 41:20went out there and he said what he felt, but I thought it was
- 41:24funny. By the way, nobody knows the
- 41:25story. Go check it out.
- 41:26It's, it's a really, really funny story.
- 41:28I got it. And I'll tell you, I don't
- 41:30listen to other people's podcasts really anymore because
- 41:33I, I, I'm so embedded in what we're doing.
- 41:35But I got to say Pat Bev is one of those guys.
- 41:38He doesn't give a crap. He will say what he feels and
- 41:43not even back off on what he says.
- 41:46And even though I disagree with a lot of things he says, it's
- 41:50funny. So if anybody hasn't checked out
- 41:53Pat, Pat Bev's his podcast, it is funny and he knows he knows a
- 41:58little bit about sports thing. He knows a little bit more about
- 42:02sports, even more than you would think offset from basketball.
- 42:06He knows a lot. So I he had his own take about
- 42:10the World Series and the Dodgers and stuff like that.
- 42:13So I, I got to give Pat a little bit, a little, a little bit of
- 42:16love, a little bit of credit for the work that he is doing right
- 42:19now on his podcast and, and whoever is his producers and,
- 42:23and his production and sensational.
- 42:25So good. Good for you, Pat Definitely
- 42:28going to get picked up by one of the big networks.
- 42:29I think. I think he's really, really
- 42:31funny. That's it, ladies and gentlemen,

- 43:49talk a little winter meetings, GM meetings, what he's heard.
- 43:52He had to drive from New York to Tampa with three kids and his
- 43:55wife, so that should be a fun story, I'm sure.
- 43:59It's definitely. Something he's like, I'm not
- 44:00flying, so he drove. I want to say something.
- 44:03Brittany wants to go to Toronto. We're going to go to Toronto in
- 44:06January and she was telling me we were trying to get, we're
- 44:10looking at seats and tickets and she's like, this is ridiculous.
- 44:13Do you know that both ways of getting Canadian tickets to
- 44:18Toronto is like $700.00? It's ridiculous right now to go
- 44:23to Canada. It's ridiculous.
- 44:25And she's like, oh, we're still going.
- 44:27I said you're going to pay for that.
- 44:29I'm not going, I'm not going. You're paying for it, Miss

- 44:42we enjoy it every single year. Stay away from Niagara because I
- 44:46don't need my rent a car being bashed in and robbed.
- 44:49Have you gone on both the US side and the Canadian side?
- 44:52Yes, Yes, Sir. Yes, Sir.
- 44:54Canadian sides are way better but yes.
- 44:56Yes, when I played hockey, I've been all over the place,
- 44:58Vancouver, Edmonton, there, it's all beautiful.
- 45:01More if you go to Edmonton and Calgary.
- 45:04It's all woods, man. It is like there's nothing.
- 45:08It's just and, and by the way, each town is like 40 miles away
- 45:12from each other. So if you live in Calgary, good
- 45:15luck. I love, I love Montreal.
- 45:18Montreal's oh dude, it's a party place.
- 45:21If you're if you're having a bachelor party, that's the place
- 45:23to go guys. That's the place to go.
- 45:25Jarrett, you're a young guy. Go check out Montreal.
- 45:29You'll love it. I just tell him I know PK Subban
- 45:31because he's a black French Canadian.
- 45:33Off they melt they. They love you.
- 45:35Russell Martin, when he would talk, it'd make my nipples hard
- 45:38because I'm like, I'll know what you're saying, but that is a
- 45:40cool language, bro. That's.
- 45:42A takes B, you better cut that out.
- 45:43Makes my nipples. When you're going wrong.

- 45:50And one more for for the road, because I have to do this for
- 45:53the old myth. I love Lisa Ann as he always.
- 45:56Loves Lisa Ann or. Suck my indo OH.
- 45:58Wait, his Indo is definitely. If he actually ever gets Lisa
- 46:02Ann on the show, I'm not saying anything.
- 46:04I just want to like, I just want to focus on him the entire time.
- 46:07Dude, his mouth will water. That man has.
- 46:11This he will drool, Yeah. How's this infatuation with this
- 46:14woman? I don't get it, but it's funny.
- 46:18The first time I saw her, I saw her at a convention and she was
- 46:22walking around at. Every What convention were you
- 46:24at? So it was, it was in Manhattan,
- 46:27it was a sports convention and she was doing something for the
- 46:30company she was working with and she was taking interviews and
- 46:33everybody was. Like nice covered up, real slick
- 46:36I'm. Being serious, I'm being
- 46:37serious. She does sports, man.
- 46:40It was at the sport. I know she does.
- 46:44Every guy was running at her trying to get an interview with
- 46:47her. Wink, wink.
