- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Are you fat?
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Join the club.
- 0:01SPEAKER_00: So I've torched off somebody weight.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: I got a little leaner, did pretty well, did a lot of longer-term fasting.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: A lot of people say, well, that's starvation.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: The other thing, too, with the fasting, unless you fix your main issue, unless you fix the problem, the core problem of why you're fat in the first place, it's just not going to work.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: It never works long term.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: In fact, from what I heard this morning, doctors have a better chance of curing a heroin addiction than people have of keeping fat off for over a year.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: So I was able to keep most of it off.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Well, quite a bit of it off, over a year after dropping that 135 pounds.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: And if you're thinking about maybe embarking on this, or maybe you failed a thousand times, I have probably more, but I did succeed.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Maybe you've succeeded in quitting things.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: I quit cigarettes.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: That was a success.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Bar none.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Alcohol, bar none, success.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Chewing tobacco, bar none success.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: And I wish I could tell you the identification point as to why that actually worked.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: I have no idea.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: But it did work.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: And it wasn't the first time I tried and I quit.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: And good for those people.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: It's like those people, I can eat one lace potato chip.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Well, good for you.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: I can't have any because several bags are gone after I embark on that.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: And that's the problem, right?
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: So that's the addictive process in fat gaining.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: And that's the issue.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: It's these hyper-palatable foods that are designed by pretty much now cigarette companies that got into the fast food game after their lawsuits caused them to lose a lot.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: They just took the same scientists, the cigarette companies, the big ones at the top, bought the food conglomerates.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: And that's true.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Look at that.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: It's insane.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: But that's the food that we're eating.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: And of course it's great.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Of course it's addictive.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Of course it's wonderful.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: And it kicks off all the dopamine spikes and everything else.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: So we get, we get, we just want to eat more of it.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: And it never makes us satisfied.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Sit down and try to eat a steak, a high-fat steak, and try to chew some of that gristle and that fat.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: And I know you're going to go, oh, that's gross.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: Well, I get that.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: But some people love steak.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: And I'm I'm starting to try to love steak because I need that.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: The site, if you eat slowly, if you masticate, not the other one, but masticate, that means chewing your food.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: If you do that a lot, a lot, 50, 60 times per bite, and you put the fork down and you and you relax and you try not to shove it in.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Because I'm a shover.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: I'll eat a dozen donuts without any issue.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: I do all sorts of things in that regard, but I'm trying to break that cycle.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: But if you don't break that addictive process, if you don't identify it and figure it out and move through it, it's never going to work long term.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: So in order to do that, you might need to identify those particular cues that make you go out and do the things that you do.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Is it the people you're living with?
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Are they bringing home the food?
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Are you ordering from fast food?
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Do you think you don't have the time to eat normal food, breaking that addiction, trying to go through those withdrawals?
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Because if you're eating processed food, you're going to go through withdrawals.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: Deal with that.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Look it up, do some research, and be good to yourself.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: I'm Connor with On to the LastAddicdic.com.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: See you tomorrow.
