- 2:46give those to those in need. And the timing cannot be better with us
- 2:51the coldest weather we've had so far this winter is about I think when I
- 2:53left the house this morning, about eight degrees and it's even gonna get colder.
- 2:58They say this weekend actually colder Saturday than what it is this morning,
- 3:01So great timing. Uh, And it's tomorrow and we'll get into that a
- 3:07little bit later on as well. So we got a lot of stuff I
- 3:08want to get to. I want to get to it. My good friend
- 3:10Millie Snyder from the Shape Shop, how are you? I am, Well,
- 3:15I'm not going to be stupid and sam cold. Yes, it's cold
- 3:19outside, but I must admit we're in a heat wave. When I left
- 3:22my house it was six. When I got down here it was eleven.
- 3:25So that's a heat wave. It is a heat wave. Indeed, do
- 3:28you have a good holiday season? Yes, somebody, I haven't had you
- 3:30on. I had to think, I haven't had you on since since Christmah
- 3:35towards the e and it was wonderful and it was just good to be with
- 3:40family and friends and I love that part all right now, So you wanted
- 3:44me to pay attention to your T shirt that you had on this morning,
- 3:49and obviously it's radio so maybe I'll get I'll get a picture of it.
- 3:53We'll post it on the social media afterwards. How's that now? And what
- 3:55does it say? Again? So it has never underestimated an old woman who
- 4:00graduated from FPHS. And that would be Forest Park High School. And as
- 4:05many people know, I was not born in West Virginia. I apologize,
- 4:11but as they say, you got here as quickly as you could, thank
- 4:14you as quickly as I could. And yes, I arrived when I was
- 4:16twenty four years old. No, I was twenty eight year I don't remember
- 4:20how old I was anyway. I was born in nineteen forty two and I
- 4:25came in nineteen sixty nine, so I think I was twenty seven. Yes,
- 4:29And Forest Park is ours Park is a high school in ball Baltimore,
- 4:33Maryland's at your alma man. Yeah, people like Barry Levinson actually was in
- 4:40my years film directory, the film director, and Kenny Wasteman, who was
- 4:44a wonderful a Broadway producer. Just so many wonderful people came out of my
- 4:51year and you and me, of course, Yes, I have the shirt
- 4:57that I decided to wear it's cold outside this too. What kind of student
- 5:00was Millie Snyder in school? I held my own. I didn't excel,
- 5:04but I also didn't fail out. Middle of the pack, the middle of
- 5:10the pack, and I had too many diversions and that what were some of
- 5:14the diversions? Were you an athletes? Did you father who wasn't well and
- 5:16I had to take care of him, and I didn't have the kind of
- 5:20concentration that I have developed in the later years of my life. You a
- 5:28banded student, cheerleader, aptlete, chess club, none of that, none
- 5:31of the above. The student. And that's because I had to go to
- 5:35work as soon as I got off to school, because I had to help
- 5:39my parents. What kind of work did you do? Oh, you name
- 5:41it? I did it, I took I actually took care of a young
- 5:44man who had muscular district and uh, as soon as I left school,
- 5:51I went to his house and I was able to feed him and help him
- 5:57in whatever ways possible, so we could, you know, struggle through the
- 6:02grades that he had to accomplish, the homework that he had to do,
- 6:08and after that stopped because his mother found full time help so that she could
- 6:15go to work. I think back that it was indeed an honor to be
- 6:20able to help him in whatever small one. That's awesome, that's awesome.
- 6:26Even then you were helping people. Yes, and I didn't realize that that
- 6:29would continue to manifest itself. So let's do it to shape shot. What
- 6:31do you got going on, Well, we have some of the most wonderful
- 6:34hot soup. In fact, we're playing games perfect for today. Yes,
- 6:38we're playing games on our social media that if you have a certain name,
- 6:45come in and we'll give you free soup. Really actually, well you just
- 6:50have to call in or we have to walk in the store and you say
- 6:54your name. But now we're saying, you know, if whatever your name
- 6:58is, if you walk in and say I'm Dave Allen, we're gonna say,
- 7:00oh, you get free soup because a lot of peach just just for
- 7:04being Dave Allen. And our soup, as you know, if you don't
- 7:09know, is hot, delicious, freshly made it and you need to not
- 7:13only have it when you're in the store, but by all means take it.
- 7:15So it's almost like let's make a deal or something. You know,
- 7:18like you remember how Mammy Hall used to do Let's make a deal, and
- 7:20you know that thing is coming back with some kind of a They're gonna do
- 7:25it on a scary island with snakes. I'm not entering. What kind of
- 7:30soups? Do you have? White bean, chicken chili, vegetable soup,
- 7:35taco soup? And the taco soup is wonderful? Can you have taco soup?
- 7:40But with that we make a unbelievable taco salad. Okay, And that's
- 7:46just a few of this. What is it that makes your soup so good?
- 7:49Now? I know you're gonna give me the healthy aspects of it,
- 7:51and that's very important, But what is it that makes it taste so good?
- 7:55Well? I could lie to you and tell you I stick my finger
- 7:58in it, but that would be a lie. It would also be against
- 8:01health. It was a health department. Everything we put in the soup is
- 8:07fresh, nothing is there's no chemicals, nothing is preserved in that. And
- 8:13yeah, we do preserve it. We put it in the freezer. That's
- 8:16the preservation brought. What's your favorite of the soup chili? I mean,
- 8:20I can eat that for breakfast, lunch, supper. It's just wonderful and
- 8:24it would be great to go. And oh, I forgot my gosh,
- 8:30Emily will kill me. A stuffed pepper soup we were making. We used
- 8:33to make it with green peppers, but a lot of people can't handle the
- 8:37green peppers, so we use it with red, yellow, and orange peppers,
- 8:43and we use ground turkey and brown rice. And you want a good,
- 8:48hearty stick to the rib soup, you got to come in and get
- 8:52our stuffed peppers. And that's what you need. Like this time of year,
- 8:56it is delicious. You want it hot. You wanted delicious, Because
- 8:58I will have to say that as of yesterday, when I was watching my
- 9:01wife shovel the driveway, that was so I would have loved to have had
- 9:07some awful lot of chivalry going on in your house. Well her, I
- 9:09got her a shovel. I mean, what more do you want? I'm
- 9:13kidding. I'm kidding mostly today Allan showing five ay line bright you mark by

- 9:35So I got to give a big shout out on my drag and I know
- 9:39everybody listening right now is probably going to say, well, it's not like
- 9:41that in my neighborhood, because that's what we do as human beings. But
- 9:45I will have to say that overall, I think that the city of Charleston
- 9:50and the surrounding areas have done a pretty good job on snow removal overall.
- 9:54Now there's going to be exceptions to that because it can't be everywhere, but
- 9:56right, and I'm very, very pleased. I had zero problems getting in
- 10:00the house getting out of the house, and I'm grateful for that. But
- 10:03what I do want to talk about for just a few minutes. You know,
- 10:07in the real estate market, they often say buy or beware mm hm,
- 10:09and I want to say the same thing with some of these diet drugs
- 10:13that are literally flooding the newsway the news and the TIV radio. Read a
- 10:20big article on the Wall Street Journal about it, actually just a couple of
- 10:22days ago, about one of those type drugs you're talking about, and I
- 10:26just want people to throw caution to the wind and know that they're talking about
- 10:31all of us, and the better advice is to learn how to eat healthfully
- 10:37and not let drugs be the reason that you bring your weight down. On
- 10:43the Internet today, I just read an article that a friend sent me.
- 10:46A woman who was a weight loss influencer out of Brazil actually has passed away
- 10:54and she did the gastric bypass. And I'm telling you that there is Yes,
- 11:01people want to be thin, but if they sacrifice eating healthfully and they
- 11:07need to learn how to do that, there is help available, such as
- 11:11what I do on Thursdays where I teach the Mediterranean lifestyle. Now I know
- 11:16this sounds like a commercial, but I want people to know food is not
- 11:22the enemy if we can learn what to choose, how to put it together,
- 11:28how much to eat and be good to ourselves. So I just have
- 11:33to tell people to borrow that expression. Buyer. Beware, there is no
- 11:39miracle. There is no I mean in my opinion, and I'm certainly not
- 11:43a doctor and certainly not the picture of health either, but I will say
- 11:46this, I don't know how any good is going to come from putting chemistry
- 11:50in your body. And I'm a big believer in the fact that the less
- 11:56medicines that you put in your body of any kind, the better off you
- 12:01are. I'm happy to say, fifty three years old them again. I
- 12:03gotta I got a bit of a gut because I like bad things for me.
- 12:07But I will say this, I do not take any medication, and
- 12:11probably never will. I never you're doing good if I take an aspirin.
- 12:16If I have a headache and I don't get headaches, I cause them.
- 12:18But I will say this, I do not take any medication. I never.
- 12:24I mean, for the there have been some exceptions, and I kind
- 12:26of pride myself on that. Don't put chemistry in your body. I mean,
- 12:30just simply don't do it. We didn't get sat by chemistry. We
- 12:33got sat by eating too much of things that we love. And even if
- 12:37you don't love it, you eat it because it happens to be sitting there.
- 12:41And we are just not discriminate when it comes to taking care of ourselfs
- 12:45because we don't know how to do it, and so chemistry isn't the answer,
- 12:50you know. Over the years of bringing weight watchers to West Virginia and
- 12:54now it's pretty much gone, although it is available on the line, I
- 12:58have to say I lived through as did my business during the days of Finfen
- 13:05and Reducs, and I saw so many people have forever health problems from the
- 13:11finfen. And then also there was another drug and that was called Reducs,
- 13:16and that caused primary pulmonary hypertension. And what was the thing people wanted the
- 13:22most was to be thin, but at the cost of their health. And
- 13:26the same thing is underfoot right now. Buyer, beware, look at yourself
- 13:33and know that your body can change, but you've got to reach out for
- 13:37the right pattern purpose way. Millie Snyder from the Shape Shop, it was
- 13:41always a pleasure to have you on the show. It's much fun to come
- 13:45and see it's going to be, you know, once we get through Like
- 13:48the next couple days, aget another snowstorm, they say, Ki, but
- 13:50in late Thursday and Friday morning temperatures this weekend are going to be even colder
- 13:54Saturday than what they are now. But next week, really they're going to
- 13:56be in the fifties and you will be out on that food truck, I'm
- 14:00sure, real real soon at various places and doing the Lively Lads and downtown
- 14:05and things of that nature. So I just want to tell you we did
- 14:07take the food truck to the Ice Bowl, which was up at Shawnee for
- 14:11a big football games that came in from teams out of state, and people
- 14:16just loved our food, our wraps, our soups, our hot chocolate coffee,
- 14:20tea, et cetera. And it was fun to do that, all

- 17:51Mike Stewart is here. Mike, good morning, Welcome to the show.
- 17:53Hey, good morning, Thanks for having me on this very very very
- 17:56cold morning. Billie Snyder, hitch up, tay all the things you're doing
- 17:59wrong in your dietary life. I got to tell you, she's fabulous.
- 18:03Though she looks great, she provides a great service. I'm gonna have to
- 18:07I'm gonna have to check that out, all right. So, how's se
- 18:10session been so far? Let's start with their how's the session been so far?
- 18:12You've been making some headlines, and we'll get to that a little bit
- 18:15later on, but just overall, I know you're only a week in,
- 18:17but how's the session been so far? Well, that's the theme. We're
- 18:19only a weekend and there's still a lot of work to do. I think
- 18:22right now, Senators, House of Delegate members getting their bills in for folks
- 18:26to consider. We're looking at the proposals the governor put out in the Stay
- 18:30of the State, not all of us agree on what the solutions are.
- 18:34I think we're moving in the right direction, but we still have a ton
- 18:37of work to do. Often we talk about the victories, but there's a
- 18:41lot of challenges out there. I'm one of those folks that support the elimination
- 18:45of the Social Security tax entirely. I think we'll have a big discussion on
- 18:48that. I don't know where it ends up, but I think we have
- 18:52to continue to cut taxes. I think there's still an appetite for that,
- 18:55but we have to pay for the taxes that we cut. And the governor
- 18:57spent a lot of time talking about raises and things of that nature, and
- 19:02some in the Senate, including leadership. I know Senator Tar was one of
- 19:04those that kind of came out and said, well, you know, we
- 19:07gotta we don't we don't know if the money is all there. And that's
- 19:10kind of just him talking about the governor, him campaigning for Senate and try
- 19:14to score points. And then there's a there's beef there, you know,
- 19:17between Tar and Justice and her husband. For some time. Where are you
- 19:18on all this? Well, I don't want to get involved in an exactly
- 19:22one between these two candidates and listen the way I view these things. Uh.
- 19:26I think the governors had a pretty phenomenon. West Virginia's had a phenomenal
- 19:30record under Governor Justice. And I'll say this about Governor Justice. His empathy,
- 19:33his heart for people. I see it up close. That emotion he
- 19:37showed in that state of the state was real and legitimate. And his leadership
- 19:42during COVID, whether you agree with the exact direction we went, he was
- 19:47hands on and watching that whole thing happen. I think there were some good
- 19:49proposals, but devils in the details. Can we afford all these proposals?
- 19:53And so I'm gonna look at each one of them one by one, make
- 19:57a determination. If we can afford it, let's do it. Let's continue
- 20:02to grow. But we have to pay our bills and we have to make
- 20:04sure we do so prudently. But again, I support the elimination of SoC
- 20:07security tax. I think we need to look at a pay increase for state
- 20:11workers, certainly inflation because of what's happened from this Biden administration that's been so
- 20:18devastating for our country. I think it's important we address the challenges working families
- 20:23have. And there are other proposals folks didn't talk about, Like I did
- 20:26not realize until recently. We tax diapers in West Virginia. Diapers, we
- 20:32tax baby formula in West Virginia. We're pro family. I think these are
- 20:36things we need to talk about to make sure we're doing everything we're going to
- 20:40do to help working families get by, thrive, succeed, and raise their
- 20:44families. One of the things, again we're talking with the state Senator Mike
- 20:47Stewart, also a candidate for Attorney General. Mike, one of the things
- 20:49that I know that you talked about and that you helped to get done was
- 20:52the elimination or moving the inspection stickers to every other year. Now i'm seeing
- 20:57talking and I just caught a little bit of it on social media that may
- 21:00be talking that there's some movement on to eliminate them totally. So listen.
- 21:04I was supportive of that, but we had to cut a deal so we
- 21:07could get something passed. I mean, it's like making sausage. It's true
- 21:10what they say about that when you look at legislation. So my proposal originally
- 21:14was three years, but we got a deal. In fact, I was
- 21:15told it's just a fact I was told there's no way ste it, you
- 21:19will ever be able to get this bill passed that extends those inspection stickers beyond
- 21:25the one year, and we had resistance on this. Ultimately we said let's
- 21:29do it for two years. I think folks are excited by it. Gosh,
- 21:33for our first year state senator in his first session to get a bill
- 21:37that's going to touch every single auto owner in West Virginia impacted, it's a
- 21:41good thing. I don't know that we're going to get it removed entirely.
- 21:45I welcome the debate, but I think that one hundred percent improvement over where
- 21:49we were, I'll take it. I'm really pleased by it. There's been
- 21:52talk about the death penalty, Mike. I know that you and some others
- 21:59have talked about it from a standpoint of maybe those that are dealing fininyl and
- 22:03manufacturing finanyl, but you've talked about it doing maybe extending the conversation a little
- 22:11further. Well, they're going to be two bills introduced on this. My
- 22:14bill is very simple. It's the First Responder Defense in Justice Act, the
- 22:18First Responder Defense and Justice Act. It's very narrowly tailored to protect first responders
- 22:23in the line of duty. If you're someone who ambushes a law enforcement officer,
- 22:30a first responder in the line of duty leading to death, the death
- 22:33penalty should be on the table. No question. The fentanyl issue, we're
- 22:37going to have to sit down and talk about what the parameters are. You
- 22:40get into issues of potency and purity and testing. But my bill is a
- 22:45standalone bill. It's Bill number four seventy three in the Senate. It was
- 22:49just introduced yesterday. I'm eager for the debate. There's growing support in both
- 22:56bodies for this bill, and it provides the if you ambush or kill a
- 23:00law enforcement officer in the line of duty or a first responder, death penalties
- 23:04on the table. And I'll say that in the case of people like Sergeant
- 23:07Corey Maynard, and many of your listeners may know this name on an ordinary
- 23:12day, and I'm doing it. In quote, Sergeant Corey Maynard went to
- 23:17a problem down in Mingo County and literally was ambushed by this gentleman. Hard
- 23:22to call him a gentleman, shot him multiple times with his rifle through his
- 23:26bullistic vest because rifle shots go through. As he lay dying out on the
- 23:33ground, this fiend took the butt of his rifle and walked up to him
- 23:38and started beating on him to crack his skull open. He died. There's
- 23:42videotape of this. It's devastating. I pray for his family to this day.
- 23:47He was sold of the earth. This type of thing should never happen.
- 23:49This was premeditated and intentional, and in this case, in other cases,
- 23:55we see what happened in Martinsburg just a few weeks ago troopers. One
- 24:00of those troopers, both of them could have lost their lives. One of
- 24:03them lost his leg and is still not out of the woods. We can't
- 24:07tolerate this. In West Virginia. I think there's growing support for a limited,
- 24:12very very limited use of the death penalty. Hopefully it'll never be used.
- 24:18But in a nation where we're talking about defunding police and morale is so
- 24:22low, and we ask our men and women in law enforcement and first response,
- 24:26those are firemen, those are ems workers to go out on the front
- 24:30lines of challenges. We're not sure what they're going to run into. The
- 24:34violence is increased, the risk of their lives was increased. We pay them
- 24:38too little. They leave their families in the morning and kiss their spouse and
- 24:41their kids goodbye, not knowing if they'll come back. There's an anxiety today
- 24:47not only for the individuals that do those heroic actions, but for the families,
- 24:52the families that are related to these folks. I think it's important we
- 24:56take these types of steps. This will be a national statement to places like
- 25:00Portland in Seattle and Denver and New York City and Chicago that there are places
- 25:04in America that embrace and support first responders and law enforcement. That place,
- 25:10as was Virginia, And I'm hopeful this will be a siren song across the
- 25:14country of our commitment to these men and women. And it's not only about
- 25:18trying to make sure these things don't happen. It's also about justice. It's
- 25:22not about vengeance, It's about justice. And in the case of Corey Maynard,
- 25:26life is about the special moment. He'll never get that day to see
- 25:29his daughter go to the prom, He'll never get that day to see the
- 25:33birth of a grandchild. He'll never get that first Christmas morning again with that
- 25:37excitement of a family rushing down from upstairs. And I think it's just a
- 25:41crime shame and breaks my heart. What exactly other I mean, I don't
- 25:48fully understand the way that this would work if the legislature, if this goes
- 25:51through. You said you introduced a bill, what would it take to get
- 25:53that into law other than just passing law, because it would there not be
- 25:56more to it, a change state code or what. Yeah, well,
- 26:00it does change the state cum yeah, I mean, and what it does
- 26:03it provides in this case, and these are very clear cases. This case.
- 26:06You know what we're facing right now with this defendant who ambushed and murdered
- 26:11Sergeant Corey Maynard, that state trooper is. That guy's sitting right now pending
- 26:17trial. He's going to be prosecuted for a murdering the first degree. I
- 26:19suspect that if we have the death penalty on the books right now and he
- 26:23was charged with the death penalty, he might be quick to avoid that expensive,
- 26:27lengthy, passionate, emotional trial and plead it down pretty quickly to life
- 26:34behind bars without possibility of parole. And so the way this will work is
- 26:41it'll be an added charge. The jury will make a second determination as to
- 26:45whether the death penalty applies based on the circumstances, and they're mitigating circumstances as
- 26:51well. If you're seventeen years old or younger doesn't apply. Did you have
- 26:55the emotional capacity to know? The gravity? The crime Committee the traditional things
- 27:02you'd expect by Jerry to hear. If they make that determination, that judge
- 27:04will make a separate determination as to whether it was valid, and then there's
- 27:08a direct appeal to the West Virginia State Supreme Court for them to view the
- 27:12factors that are involved. And so it's very simple process. It's a very
- 27:17simple bill, but I think it's a very important bill. Twenty six away
- 27:21from Tamaday valland showing five Adieline Bright to a department by Pinnacle Consultants. We
- 27:23spend ninety percent of a time indoors, and our health risk for air pollution
- 27:27can be greater indoors than out's. Pinnacle Consultants the only accredited commercial lab in
- 27:32the state for as bestos in molds, a Pinnacle Court dot net. Because
- 27:34what you don't know can hurt you. I have a text here for you,
- 27:37says Dave. Can you have Senator Stewart about one of the most important
- 27:40reform opportunities in West Virginia switching to a three hundred and sixty five day fishing
- 27:45license like Ohio, Virginia, and Maryland. Right now, most West Virginians
- 27:49have expired fishing licenses because they all expired January first, should be good for
- 27:53three sixty five from the date of the purchase, so all anglers get their
- 27:56money's worth. I love calls like this, Right, this is something that
- 28:02I'm not an expert on. I love the call. It's something I'm going
- 28:06to check on as soon as I get back to my office. But why
- 28:08shouldn't it be three hundred and sixty five days? And so we'll take a
- 28:11look. I certainly would support that type of change. It sounds like a
- 28:15positive one, And I love calls like that from listeners who sometimes know a
- 28:21lot more than the folks are up here and making decisions. Probably you're right,
- 28:25Tex, says Dave. We need to bring back the death penalty for
- 28:26anyone who would go into our schools to do mass destruction to our students and
- 28:30teachers and administrators. Thanks the problem with that, and I don't disagree at
- 28:33all. But the problem with that is frequently you're dealing with underaged kids,
- 28:37You're dealing with fourteen, fifteen, sixteen year old kids. Well, I
- 28:41don't disagree with it. I support this entirely. In fact, there are
- 28:44a lot of situations i'd support the death penalty on. But I've said this,
- 28:47and I think my colleagues agree. If we Christmas tree this built,
- 28:49We're going to have a lot of opposition from the lefties and the crazies on
- 28:53this stuff. Already, there already people lining up to take me on on
- 28:56this principle of the death penalty is just bad, bad, bad. If
- 29:02we Christmas tree it at this point. And what I mean by that is,
- 29:04at all these other reasons we ought to use the death penalty, we'll
- 29:08never get it through. It will never pass. We need to be extremely
- 29:11focused and strategic about this proposal this year. This is a good standalone proposal.
- 29:19But I agree, if you cause terror, if you go into our
- 29:23schools and cause this mass violence, absolutely i'd support it, but I don't
- 29:27think it fits within this proposal. Okay, let me get this now.
- 29:30I want to talk about your campaign for Attorney General. A tech says,
- 29:33people on death row frequently have unlimited appeals. How would you work through that?
- 29:37No, that can be that can be dealt with in the legislation,
- 29:41and in fact, in this one, I don't even deal with the method
- 29:45of executing the death penalty. There are a number of ways you can do
- 29:49that. I leave that to the court, but we can limit those number
- 29:53of appeals. I've heard from experts from across the country. This is constitutional.
- 30:00I'm a good lawyer. I went out there and did my work on
- 30:02this proposal. This is not one of those where there are a lot of
- 30:06questions to be asked. This is solid constitutional work, and so I'll leave
- 30:11it. My bill is solid and strong. I urge people take a look
- 30:15at it. All right, So let's talk about your campaign for attorney general.
- 30:18First of the year is here now, and filing deadline, of course,
- 30:22is coming up later this month. Looks like it's on the Republican side.
- 30:26It's going to be you and mister mckeski, the current state auditor,
- 30:29and he could be somebody else. You don't know who's going to fly.
- 30:32We got till the end of January twenty seventh. I think you do it.
- 30:33So I'm going to officially file on Monday or Tuesday. I'll make a
- 30:36formal announcement about that soon. I'm excited by this race. I'll point out
- 30:40to folks there's only one candidate who's running, who's been a US attorney,
- 30:44who's been a member of the Trump administration, who's been a real prosecutor,
- 30:48who's been a partner at major law firms, who's led drug raids, who's
- 30:52been on the front lines of working with law enforcement. There's only one.
- 30:56There's only one candidate in this race who's one hundred or Second Amendment. My
- 31:00opponent voted four times against the Second Amendment. We're gonna talk about these issues
- 31:06during the course of this campaign. I'm gonna be outspent by hundreds of thousands
- 31:11of dollars. But guess what, I don't think we ought to be electing
- 31:14people on the size of their wallet. We had elect folks on the basis
- 31:18of what they bring to the office. I'm passionate about this. I'm gonna
- 31:21work hard in this campaign. Although I'm gonna be underfunded, You're gonna see
- 31:26me out there working hard. My reputation is I'm gonna work it. And
- 31:30that two hundred and fifty thousand miles on my Ford F one fifty you may
- 31:33have five hundred thousand on it by the end of this campaign. But I
- 31:37look forward to this campaign. My opponent is a nice guy, and maybe
- 31:42a good auditor, but he is not the right person to be the next
- 31:47Attorney General of the state of West r Jane. To defend your rights and
- 31:49your freedoms, you need somebody who's a fighter. Not everybody listening to me
- 31:53right now may love where I stand on issues, but nobody listening has any
- 31:57question that I'll go to bat and go to fight and do what I believe
- 32:01is in the best interests of the people of West Virginea. I don't care
- 32:05if you're a Democrat, Republican, independent, I'm going to fight for all
- 32:08your values out there, things like vaccine freedom. I think we ought to
- 32:10talk about these things, and so these are issues that will come up during
- 32:14the course of this campaign. You open to debates, because I'm sure there
- 32:17will be some at some point once the finally period's over. Debates, forums,
- 32:21whatever you want to call them. You open to that with JV McCaskill.
- 32:22Yeah, I think it's important we have these debates. In fact,
- 32:25let's have as many as we can. I'm welcome. I welcome him to
- 32:29come in here right now. Let's finish the rest of your show, have
- 32:31a debate and carry it on to that. Personally, I got to talk
- 32:34about the hunting and fishing show after you, But go ahead. But I'll
- 32:36say this, We've already had one discussion. We met with the Chamber of
- 32:38Commerce. We were both there, and I'll say the biggest difference between my
- 32:43opponent and me. He was talking about growing infrastructure and bringing new population.
- 32:46Those are all fine and well good ideas. That's not the role of the
- 32:50attorney general. My job as Attorney General is to be the chief legal officer
- 32:54of this state to make sure that I provide good legal counsel to all our
- 32:59Asian sees, that our contracts are good and solid, and that I defend
- 33:02the people of West Virginia from those legal challenges. Those crazies in Washington you
- 33:07try to shut down our jobs in coal. I've been endorsed by Cole,
- 33:10I've been endorsed by veterans, I've been endorsed by the auto dealers, and
- 33:15we're gonna have a lot more to come. I think we need to talk
- 33:19about these things. But the role of the Attorney general. Listen, I'm
- 33:21not running for governor. I know my opponent wanted to be governor. I
- 33:25realized he finished with only three percent in that race. But he's now running
- 33:30for attorney general. We need to talk about the role of attorney general,
- 33:32not a continuation of the governor's race. Right Attorney General candidate and current State
- 33:39Senator Mike Stewart's always a pleasure to have you on the show Man. Thanks

- 36:22Why did Mike Stewart and his dear leader fail to stop them? Massive

- 36:31Who is Mike Stewart to play god and say he loves and who died?
- 36:36Who I think is supposed to be, who lives and who dies?
- 36:37Just because he has a law degree. Thou should not kill Mike? What
- 36:40part of that don't you understand? Says a text Texas says. Notice the

- 36:58a great attorney general or govenar. He has my vote, thanks, says
- 37:01a Texter. Tex says, Mike Stewart pats is back, so hard and
- 37:07frequently. I'm surprised he's not a paraplegic. That's a Texter. Tex says
- 37:13well, Mike Stewart fight for my values of freedom, such as my freedom
- 37:15to responsibly consume cannabis without fear of jail or imprisonment. Well, Stuart,
- 37:20fight for medical cannabis patients to be able to legally purchase a firearm. I
- 37:22don't think he will. All right, let's bring it a good friend.
- 37:27Glenn Gerald now talking about the West Virginia Hunting Fishing Show this weekend at the
- 37:30Colosseum of Convention Center. Glenn, good morning, how are you? Good
- 37:32morning? I'm fine, Thanks for having me, Thank you for being here.

- 38:47a big supporter of ours, and we wish Chris the Best. Chris has
- 38:52been off since it's because somebody asked me about this. Get an email about
- 38:55this. Chris has been off recovering from hip surgery. Here's been a lot
- 38:59of pain for a long time, and so he is going to be back
- 39:01in the fold this weekend over there. This is his big return and you
- 39:06know, I'll promise you. There's two things he's scheduled this hip replacement surgery.
- 39:09Around one was football season because he's our football guy on Friday nights with
- 39:13The other was getting him rehabbed and back into playing shape and ready to go
- 39:17for the Hunting and Fishing show this weekend. Yes, and we're really looking
- 39:21forward to it. Chris is a big assets to us, great guy.
- 39:23We're looking forward to having you and he'll be there. So if you want
- 39:28to see Chris meet, come on down. He'll be there. I want

- 39:37I just happen to have Glenn a family pack of tickets for the show to
- 39:40give away. There are four in this family pack. Thank you so much
- 39:43for those tickets. Good. Any day you want to go Friday, Saturday
- 39:45and Sunday. Right now, Ryan is standing by be calling number five right
- 39:50now at three zero four three four five fifty eight fifty eight. Three zero
- 39:52four three four five fifty eight fifty eight. If you're calling number five right
- 39:55now, I'm going to hook you up with a family four pack of tickets
- 39:59to a hunting and fishing show Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You can go
- 40:02any day, any one day that you want. Caller five right now,
- 40:06three zero four three four five fifty eight fifty eight or three zero four three
- 40:09four five fifty eight fifty I almost always want to give out the text line
- 40:13there, but that's not going to work. Calls only three zero four three
- 40:15four five fifty eight fifty eight. Caller five right now, right will take
- 40:17your name and where you're from, and we'll send you to the hunting and
- 40:21fishing show this weekend. All right. So, even Glenn, I'm somebody
- 40:25who doesn't particularly like the outdoor stuff. I'm not really a hunter fisherman.
- 40:29There's a lot of other things for people that just like to go look at
- 40:32stuff. Talk about that. Absolutely, there's something there for everyone, especially
- 40:37the ladies. We'll have a lot of things there for Then we're even going
- 40:39to have a fashion show this year for the ladies so they can come down
- 40:43look at the latest apparel and so forth. If as far as outdoor activities
- 40:46are concerned, we have a great program set up for the youngsters. This
- 40:50year. We have a coloring contest for them. Then we're going to have
- 40:52an outdoor challenge for the youngsters where they'll have the opportunity to go shoot archery,
- 40:57to shoot a laser shoot that the Department Natural Resources will bring in.
- 41:01They can visit the beyond the backyard, even having a little conservation quiz for
- 41:07them, and we'll give them trophies and awards and so forth. So not
- 41:10only is this for the one hundred and fishing guys, but the ladies and
- 41:14the kids too. Bring them down. It's a family affair. And these
- 41:16presentations that you have are I mean are educational. And that's one of the
- 41:21things. When I attended one of these shows for the first time a couple
- 41:23of years ago, I was amazed at the number of people that come in
- 41:27just like just like they're in school. Man. They come in with like
- 41:29a pad and paper and sit down and take notes with these presentations. Absolutely,
- 41:32there'll be some great ones this year. We have one guy that's a
- 41:36specialist coming in talking about deer hunting. His topic will be beating the wind.
- 41:42The wind is the one big advantage that deer have over the hunters,
- 41:45and so there'll be a lot of things like it. There'll be a guy
- 41:49at the chef teaching us how to prepare wild Any samples there, pardon any
- 41:54samples, Yes, there will be samples. So now you're talking highline.
- 41:58I knew you would be there when I'm in and samples. I'll actually be
- 42:00there on Sunday. We're going to be there throughout the weekend. Of course
- 42:04Chris is going to be there, but several I know our sister station ninety
- 42:07six one KWS is going to be broadcasting live from there. I think tomorrow
- 42:12and Saturday. I know Chris is going to be there. I'll be there

- 47:06on ninety six to one KWS. Rob will join us on the show to
- 47:09talk about that. To Mars, get those socks ready, Texas Dave.
- 47:15On the session, there was some supporter of intelligent Design saying that the bill
- 47:20would allow teachers to teach about the Christian God, the Muslim God, and
- 47:22the Jewish God in regards to creationism. This person obviously didn't know that the
- 47:27god of those three religions is the same god. How can we let these
- 47:30people who don't even know who their own gods have influence over public education.
- 47:35They are going to either purposely or not make kids dumber, says a texture.
- 47:39Happy spent some time on the show yesterday talking about this intelligent design thing,
- 47:44and I know there is a big write up into paper about it.
- 47:46I'm going to try to get into that if I have time on the show
- 47:50tomorrow. But again Hoppy covered in the link yesterday. Speaking of Hoppy,
- 47:53he's back at the Capital from the AARP set today. Senator Amy Nicole Grady
- 47:58will be on the show Dale Lee from the Westerninian Education Association, Charleston City
- 48:01Council, and a frequent guest of this show, Emmitt Pepper will be on
- 48:05there talking Soldar stuff, Brad doing Brad stuff. All coming up at ten
- 48:08oh six as Hoppy is live from the Capitol, Texas. Mike Stewart is
- 48:13right. Elections are about ideas. It just happens that his ideas are terrible.
- 48:16This dude is absolutely insufferable. His grand policy proposal is writing the coattails
- 48:22of a sex abuser. It's a Texter text, says Mike Stewart. Sounds
- 48:25like he's always in the virgin of tears. Well, he's a passionate guy.
- 48:30Phone calls to the Day Island Show a service of Big Lee, Pigley
- 48:32Wiggy, and our texting services are provided by Fruit Pharmacy, your hometown family
- 48:37Pharmacy. Well is it cold enough for you? You know you love when
- 48:39people say that it's a weather though, I mean, what are you gonna
- 48:43do? Once I got out of my neighborhood this morning, everything was good.
- 48:46Enjoy the day and half of tomorrow because the snow returns midday tomorrow,
- 48:51Tomorrow night, Friday and summer Saturday, it is going to be You think
- 48:54it's cold out there, now, wait, it'll come Saturday morning and throughout
- 48:59the day on Saturday, but a last ryan. By next week, temperatures
- 49:02are going to be in the mid fifties and possibly hitting sixty by some spots.
- 49:10All right, So the mayor, we're talking about the Charles City council
- 49:17meeting last night. The mayor stated of the city addressed. Jared Lewis has
- 49:21a story full story posted about a WV metronews dot com. There were people
- 49:27asking for the city and there had been to issue a call for a ceasefire
- 49:31in the Israeli war. Now they actually and I'm not making this up,
- 49:37these people showed up with tape on their mouths and asked the council to issue
- 49:43a proclamation again for a ceasefire. Of course, last time they did,
- 49:49it got loud, it got boisterous, because people don't know how to behave
- 49:52in public. And so this time the folks showed up and they literally had
- 49:55tape over their mouths. One gentleman did speak on the shoverything that I saw,
- 50:00and you know, I respect everyone's right to their opinion. But again,
- 50:02as I said, two weeks ago. My opinion, it is not
- 50:06the role of a city government to get involved in these sorts of things.
- 50:12You want to impress me as get a ceasefire on the west side. The
- 50:17role is not to get involved in the national politics. Your role is city
- 50:21council and mayor is to clean streets, fixed potholes, police fire protection.
- 50:25That's the role of a municipal entity, nothing more and nothing less. Now,
- 50:31the mayor said the overall city revenue is up about twenty five percent and
- 50:37the sales tax percentage is up by about thirty percent. Of course, the
- 50:42success of city events was highlighted. Now, she did touch on the Capital
- 50:45Sports Complex and that they would like to start construction on that sometime within the
- 50:51year. And you know, as I have said in the past and listeners
- 50:52of the show, no I am I am big, big, hugely,
- 50:58bigly if you will on board with this Capital Sports Complex once we see all
- 51:02the details worked out. You know, sports tourism is a billion, multi
- 51:07billion dollar a year industry and we've seen a lot of it already with the
- 51:12Shawnee Sports Compacts, even going down to Barbersville and Valley Park and Hurricane.
- 51:15Mayor City Council. It's workless and you are working, I know, get
- 51:19this project done. Canon County Commission as well. The mayor also mentioned wanting
- 51:23to build a new municipal auditorium again one percent behind that as well, there
- 51:30was also a talk of building a new fire at EMS headquarters and improvements to
- 51:35the cities eight fire stations. Again, Jarret Lewis as the complete details of
- 51:39the meeting in the State of the City address posted at w metro news dot
- 51:45com. Dave Alland showing five eighty live broad to you apartment by General Hardware
- 51:47and Lumber of Windfield. Get with them for a quote before you start your
- 51:50project. If you're tired of sorting through a bunch of crooked boards, get
- 51:52with General Hardware and Lumber. They have the straight quality lumber you're looking for,
- 51:57with great pricing and the service you expect from a locally owned business.
- 52:00General Hardware and number of Windfield checks says a newsflash to those pro HAMA supporters
- 52:06crashing the meetings, this isn't New York or Chicago. That crap won't fly
- 52:10here. According to a Texter, I want to give a quick as we
- 52:15close the show, a big shout out and to get well to a frequent
- 52:17guest on the show, mediorologist Brian Hughes from Storm Tracker thirteen. Brian is
- 52:21recovering from foot surgery. He'll be back on his little scooter for a couple
- 52:24of weeks. Get well soon, buddy, and by the time Friday and
- 52:29Saturday rolls around again, I hope that your little scooter has snow tires because
- 52:32you are going to need it. Tomorrow drop your socks day, Rob Reel
- 52:37from KWS, we'll stop by to talk about that. Plus the director of
- 52:39the Affiliated Construction Trades Group, Justin Williams, will be on the show tomorrow
- 52:44and Brian Dayton for the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Hobbies at the Capitol next.
- 52:47I will see you tomorrow. Till then, have fun and love somebody
- 53:00the w c H s A M twenty six point five that's on Charleston one
- 53:02oh four point five Cross Lane on WVRC Media station. We're proud to live
- 53:08here too.
