- 0:00Welcome to Performance Driven Living, the podcast where we question everything.
- 0:05We don't tip to around tough topics, we walk right into them, not to provoke, but to
- 0:11get closer to what's real.
- 0:13You might not agree with everything you hear, and that's okay.
- 0:17The show isn't about being right, it's about being real.
- 0:20These conversations are meant to stretch your thinking, challenge assumptions, and spark
- 0:25something deeper.
- 0:26The views shared are those of our guests and may not reflect those of the host or team.
- 0:32And while we dive deep into health, performance, and transformation, this is not medical advice.
- 0:38Talk to your doctor before making changes to your health or lifestyle.
- 0:42Take what lands, leave what doesn't, but whatever you do, don't stop questioning.
- 0:55We are here at the Performance Driven Living podcast, and we are doing our last podcast
- 1:00at the Dave Aspery Biohacking Expo here in Austin, Texas.
- 1:06I think we're in Austin now.
- 1:07We are in Austin now.
- 1:08We are in Austin now.
- 1:09I'm going to say Dallas, Texas.
- 1:10They're for a minute.
- 1:11There's a little Dallas in the room here, right?
- 1:12We are from Dallas and you're the fence.
- 1:13Yeah, I think that's what was called, but I am joined here.
- 1:16I'm actually going to read this, guys, because I say that I'm going to introduce you, but
- 1:20my team always writes the best intros.
- 1:22Okay.
- 1:23This is good.
- 1:24This is actually the names, right?
- 1:26No, no, not normally.
- 1:29My team always writes these amazing intros, and I always say on the show, like, I would
- 1:33not give you the justice that they do.
- 1:34Now this particular time I'm laughing, because you were kind of like this last minute
- 1:38addition into the calendar.
- 1:40I think there was a misfire, which is cracking me up, so they put the wrong names in, which
- 1:44is hilarious to me, because I've known these guys for ages.
- 1:49I'm going to actually put your real names in here if that's okay.
- 1:51I am joined today by Randy Johns and Rob Vasquez, collectively known as the Happy Healthy
- 1:58Guys.
- 2:00These guys have helped restore thousands of people's energy, helped them lose weight
- 2:05and reverse chronic issues using a simple, natural, and empowering approach to health.
- 2:10Fair?
- 2:11Absolutely.
- 2:12Love it.
- 2:13Yeah.
- 2:14That's the fact that they called you Dr. Derek W and Dr. Derry.
- 2:16Not even offended at all.
- 2:17I'm sure those were really nice gentlemen.
- 2:18I need to know which one is Gary and which one is Derek?
- 2:20No, that's fine.
- 2:21I'm going to go Derek.
- 2:22I'm going to go Derek.
- 2:23I wish you would know from my last name and his last name, which one was Axie, which,
- 2:28if you didn't have those other names on there.
- 2:30I don't know.
- 2:31I mean, Derek and Gary, oh, I'm saying he looks like a Vasquez, right?
- 2:34No.
- 2:35Yeah, exactly.
- 2:36He doesn't at all.
- 2:37It's just Gary Dobby.
- 2:38I know.
- 2:39That may be true.
- 2:40Well, you kind of look like Derek Huffle a little bit.
- 2:42Okay.
- 2:43So like maybe you are Derek, aren't you?
- 2:45I'm not sure.
- 2:46Yeah.
- 2:47Yeah.
- 2:48What's the main side of the scene?
- 2:49What's the name of Derek Lee?
- 2:50Derek Lee.
- 2:51The boy Ben Stiller.
- 2:52Yeah.
- 2:53Derek Lee.
- 2:54Derek Lee, don't do that.
- 2:55So far too fashionable to be making Zoolander jokes, I'm just saying.
- 3:00So these are the most fashionable male models in all of longevity of guys so excited to sit
- 3:08down and chat here with you guys.
- 3:10You guys do some incredible work, truthfully, and I know your hearts for what you do, which
- 3:14makes it more impressive.
- 3:17And one of the things that I will say this, and I mean this in all sincerity to anybody
- 3:20listening, there's a lot of there's a lot of people in the biohacking space and I often
- 3:26will use this.
- 3:27And again, not that this show is about biohacking specifically, but health is a part of my focus.
- 3:33And obviously that's going to be a lot of where my contacts and where my friends are.
- 3:36So that makes up a lot of our show.
- 3:40The show is really about me learning things and other people just get to watch and learn
- 3:43along.
- 3:44But one of the things that impresses me most about you guys is in a space longevity biohacking
- 3:50so on, so forth, which tends to be a weird space and I've often said that it has two categories
- 3:55of people.
- 3:56There's either the people that are so scientific that they lose everybody else or they're
- 4:00so spiritual that they've lost themselves.
- 4:02Wow.
- 4:03Interesting.
- 4:04Yeah.
- 4:05And there's so few people who stand in the middle.
- 4:09And you guys stand in the middle.
- 4:10And it's like you understand science, you're smart beyond anything, you completely understand
- 4:15you're both doctors.
- 4:16You understand this kind of stuff and can have as many technical conversations in the
- 4:20medical field, but you're also people who have a spiritual bent, but not a spiritual bent
- 4:25that is so lost in mysticism, but a genuine faith in Jesus and a Christian faith.
- 4:32And it's like, and I think that people like that I admire because I think in this space
- 4:37in particular holding that ground is tough.
- 4:41It is tough.
- 4:42In fact, even it's interesting that you brought that up because we were being interviewed
- 4:47last night for a magazine downstairs and they were asking us whether or not we felt like
- 4:53biohacking was a religion.
- 4:56And it was an interesting question because you could see where people have made it their
- 5:03religion, but I think that also, it also depends on what your definition of a religion
- 5:08even is.
- 5:10I want to side with our real quick and come back to that.
- 5:13Brian Johnson, okay, and I don't know Brian personally, so I'm not saying anything negative
- 5:18or whatever, but Brian Johnson made a comment recently.
- 5:22I don't know if you saw that and he said his main competition is Jesus.
- 5:26And I was like, I don't think you're on a competition, I don't think that's a big competition.
- 5:32I don't think this is, you don't want to get in that fight.
- 5:35I was like, your goal is to never die.
- 5:38He actually did it and came back, exactly, exactly, you better test your hip-hop.
- 5:44This is a lot prior to going in there and you hear lightning starting to crackle.
- 5:48But you mentioned, you know, his biohacking a religion and that was the first thing that
- 5:51came to my mind was this comment about my competition as Jesus and I'm like, whoa, like
- 5:56there was so much scumble but around that about, because I think that gives a bad name
- 6:02to the biohacking industry.
- 6:04I do, because I don't think it is about that and I'll say, my bent is I want to live
- 6:11the healthiest, most vibrant, energetic life I know how to and I believe in biofuels and
- 6:15I believe in vibrational effects and I believe all of that stuff is cool and in fact, yesterday
- 6:21I forget who I was talking to but it's this conversation that all of these science people
- 6:26are saying stuff and all of these religious people are saying stuff and I'm like, I've
- 6:29got science degrees and I've got theology degrees and I'm standing in the middle of this
- 6:32conversation going, y'all are saying the same thing, like you're saying that this is
- 6:37all energy field and I'm saying, yeah, did you know his name?
- 6:41And you're saying that this is all about high vibration and I'm like, hello.
- 6:46And you're saying that there's power in the words that people speak and I'm like,
- 6:50hmm, in the beginning, and I'm like, yeah, guys, you're all saying the same thing, like
- 6:55you're here, you're here and I'm like, we both need to get here because that just makes
- 6:59a lot of sense and finding people literally like brothers and arms who are like, yeah,
- 7:05we believe in all this science and longevity but the reason why my focus and I believe
- 7:10yours too and comment on that afterwards, but my focus in wanting to live a long, vibrant
- 7:16passionate life is as Michael Fishman will always say and I give him credit every time
- 7:21I quote it and that is the currency of success is impact.
- 7:27And the success I want to have in life is leaving this place a better place than I found
- 7:30it and I can't do that crippled and I can't do that obese and I can't do that unhealthy
- 7:37because to misquote Bobby Kennedy, a man has 100 dreams when he has no problems but the
- 7:43minute he has one problem, he has only one dream.
- 7:46That you guys are making people healthy again, one at a time, hey, we are and I got really
- 7:52bad news for the biohacking community, we're all going to die true that.
- 8:01So let's take that off the table, right?
- 8:05It's really right not to be colloquial but are you going to live and that's really should
- 8:10be the focus and where I think Rob and I and yourself fit into the spaces, listen, we're
- 8:16dying longer, we're living shorter, nobody even knows what health is and there's no
- 8:21foundation knowing that you're not broken, you're not genetically programmed to be sick
- 8:26that God did make you to be healthy.
- 8:29I mean, first John 4 or 4 says greater is he that is in you than he that's in the world
- 8:33and it's not even a religious statement because we already know it's an immutable law that
- 8:38our body heals itself.
- 8:40That is the foundation is really the key principle that everybody has to know because if you don't
- 8:46know that, you don't know how to ask the right questions, how to get the right answers
- 8:49and get the right solutions.
- 8:51110% and one of the journeys that I've been on lately and I'm in it, I'll tell you guys,
- 8:57we haven't really caught up on this but it somebody asked me recently, like, you know,
- 9:01I'm doing a podcast performance, you're living all about me learning new things and talking
- 9:05to experts and like because I just have this insatiable curiosity to know things I don't
- 9:08already know and I'll say like somebody asked like, well, what are you learning?
- 9:14And I'm like, honestly, like, I think I'm doing more unlearning right now that I am learning.
- 9:20Oh, that's yeah, I'm on that same journey.
- 9:21Yeah.
- 9:22I love what you just said.
- 9:23I'm on that exact same journey.
- 9:25Yeah.
- 9:26I think I'm unlearning things faster than I'm learning them.
- 9:28How quickly can you do it will be the greatest skill set you'll ever possess, right?
- 9:31My word.
- 9:32Yes.
- 9:33How quickly can you unlearn everything that you thought you believed because there's
- 9:36there's so much and especially having conversations in quantum spaces and all this other kind
- 9:41of stuff like, okay, that is possible.
- 9:44I need to stop discarding that.
- 9:46I need to stop discarding that.
- 9:47I need to stop ruling that out.
- 9:48I don't need to cling so tightly to this and how much do we just that we think we know
- 9:54that we really don't?
- 9:56And those I think are the beliefs we hold most closely, right?
- 9:58Because we know they're indefensible.
- 10:00Yeah.
- 10:01So they're beliefs, right?
- 10:02They can't falsify it.
- 10:03But we build weird barriers around them and those weird barriers are the harder ones
- 10:07to take down.
- 10:08And I'm like, so that's the stuff that I'm trying to hold less loosely to, or more loosely
- 10:13to, less tightly to, in a way that it's like, what can I, what can I, what can I,
- 10:18unlearn that makes me do this?
- 10:21And so much of that, truthfully, is around this whole concept of in the biohacking space,
- 10:27science has gotten us so far.
- 10:31And every single time somebody says something, I'm like, uh-huh, yet back here, this existed
- 10:39and now we just discovered it.
- 10:41Like, nothing.
- 10:42Wait a minute.
- 10:43Like, I'm having this conversation with Philip on Holtzledor failing, you know, Philip
- 10:46absolutely.
- 10:47Absolutely.
- 10:48And I'm having this, huh?
- 10:50Incredible technology.
- 10:51Amazing guy.
- 10:52Great technology.
- 10:53I got my legal quantum.
- 10:54I know, man.
- 10:55I don't.
- 10:56But I've got this for Holtz, you know, but there's frequencies in here.
- 10:59I just believe it.
- 11:00Yeah.
- 11:01Yeah.
- 11:02But I'm having this conversation with Philip in this whole conversation I had with him,
- 11:05like, a while back was all about bio fields and how the energy that we emit in the world
- 11:11is the same energy that we received because like attracts, like, and so on and so forth.
- 11:15I'm like, like, Philip, like, I can't disagree with that.
- 11:19I'm like, we're all energy and we do emit energy and we literally can measure vibrational
- 11:24patterns and I'll get there in a minute because there's, I'd love to get your thoughts
- 11:27on something.
- 11:28But, you know, we're going through this and then as I'm unpacking this later, I'm talking
- 11:34to somebody else this week and I'm like, so wait a minute, the energy, literal physical
- 11:40measurable energy that I'm emitting on a regular basis, whether through positivity, whether
- 11:44through negativity, whether through speaking negatively over my life, like, so on and so
- 11:50forth.
- 11:51I'm like, is exactly what I attract them?
- 11:52Like, so let me get this straight.
- 11:53I'm like, so do unto others as you would have them do unto you is actually a science lesson
- 11:57today.
- 11:58Is that accurate?
- 12:00And the person that I was talking to at the time was just like, yeah, I mean, yeah, actually
- 12:06yes.
- 12:07Because from a quantum energetic standpoint, if I'm kind to you, you're kind back.
- 12:13Like, that's scientific.
- 12:15Like, if I'm angry to you, you get angry back.
- 12:19Like, we're proving that through energy fields.
- 12:21And I'm like, so maybe this wasn't just do nice things and nice things or happen.
- 12:25Like, maybe that literally was a science lesson from God going guys, like, I figured this
- 12:29not a long time ago.
- 12:30Like, does that make sense?
- 12:31Like, is that too weird?
- 12:32We're like, am I trying to oversimplify the world?
- 12:35Not oversimplifying at all.
- 12:36Sounds a lot more simple than me, right?
- 12:38Yeah, absolutely.
- 12:40That's really what it's all about, too, is even just for here's where we got to get people
- 12:44to understand as well as how to really ask better questions so that they can be able
- 12:49to be healthier, but really take a look in the mirror at themselves and say, hey, you know
- 12:55what?
- 12:56I'm the person who's responsible for my own health.
- 12:59I can take agency for my health and do exactly what you were saying in that unlearning or
- 13:05letting go or surrender and stop trying to control it with all of these different gadgets
- 13:12that are all over the place that we just saw this last weekend because you're trying
- 13:16to control it rather than just let go and any, I mean, we've all heard that the saying
- 13:21and not to be cheesy about it, but you know, let go and let God.
- 13:24Well, God did give us the sun.
- 13:26He did give us the earth.
- 13:28Take your shoes off and go walk around around the ground.
- 13:31Go do some sun gazing.
- 13:35You can meditate in nature.
- 13:37We don't need to somehow fabricate all of these different things that God's already given
- 13:41us.
- 13:42It's right there.
- 13:44So if we can be able to, again, look in the mirror, take agency for our own health and
- 13:48not depend on those things to make us healthy, depend on the inner wisdom that God's
- 13:53already given us that's on the inside.
- 13:55How cool is that?
- 13:56We already have it.
- 13:59And so just let go and allow that power to be able to heal us.
- 14:03I think we would be so much better off if I had quit doing the damage.
- 14:09Yeah.
- 14:10Yeah.
- 14:11We're talking about always needing healing.
- 14:12I'm like, you know, there's a way to not need to be healing as much.
- 14:15We're healing.
- 14:16We'll pick about that.
- 14:17That's a great point.
- 14:18Listen, this is a huge thing for me.
- 14:20It's like we don't need more healing when God made us in his image, fearfully and
- 14:26wonderfully made.
- 14:27He didn't leave anything out.
- 14:29The prayer isn't God heal me.
- 14:32The prayer is God.
- 14:33Give me the wisdom to show me where I'm interfering and getting in the way of the healing process.
- 14:38That's a completely different conversation because praying for healing means on some
- 14:41level.
- 14:42Maybe I'm a victim to whatever you want to throw out there.
- 14:46My genes, my age, you know, I don't know.
- 14:50Microscopic germ that nobody can see that's invading and hijacking my cellular DNA and making
- 14:55me sick.
- 14:56Maybe it's a garbage poker hand, all of those victim statements that we own and we take
- 15:01responsive or we don't take responsibility for.
- 15:04Maybe it isn't any more simple than going away to second.
- 15:08I don't need to be praying for more healing.
- 15:11God, show me.
- 15:12How do I begin to take better care of the vessel that you gave me, right?
- 15:16One of the best ways to worship God if we're going to talk about a religion is honor
- 15:21God with your body and He does give us all the things that we need.
- 15:25I think the journey towards finding more healing may be a journey headed in the wrong direction
- 15:32because we really don't know what health is going back to what I talked about earlier.
- 15:35That way to second, health and disease are the exact same thing.
- 15:39The body doing the right thing under the circumstances.
- 15:42What is the role that you're playing in your circumstances?
- 15:45That's a painful conversation sometimes because it's easier to outsource and turn it over
- 15:50and blame something else when maybe we're the problem.
- 15:53It's in full disclaimer.
- 15:54Y'all are going to church here in a minute.
- 15:55Oh man.
- 15:56Well, I love you.
- 15:57You have this conversation.
- 15:58He falls or turn it off.
- 15:59That's all this goes.
- 16:02So this absolutely kills me because yes, I absolutely love that and I agree with you
- 16:06because that's one of the best things that we can do for our own health is get out
- 16:10of the way.
- 16:11Like just get out of the way.
- 16:12Like your body knows, your body was made to live.
- 16:14What do we say is chiropractors, right?
- 16:16The body does not need help any healing.
- 16:19It needs no interference.
- 16:20Correct.
- 16:22Right.
- 16:23Let it do what it knows how to do.
- 16:24You got it.
- 16:25Get out of the way.
- 16:26And somebody, I forget who it was, I guess talking to somebody, I want to say, you guys
- 16:29know Sandy Martin.
- 16:30Sandy Martin.
- 16:31I don't know.
- 16:32She runs the biohacking expo down in Miami like she's like, she's a lover, a lover to
- 16:36death.
- 16:37Yeah.
- 16:38Yeah.
- 16:39We were talking about something and she was talking about her cousin, she's a good friend
- 16:40and her cousin had called her and was just like, I need to, then I'm taking this supplement.
- 16:44Tell me what your thought is on it so on and so forth and she's got a big mouth like
- 16:48the rest of us, right?
- 16:49And he's just like, I'm talking about this like, what do you think?
- 16:51And she looked and she went, look, I'm just going to be real honest with you.
- 16:54You literally drive through McDonald's every day and I know that.
- 16:57Please put the supplement away.
- 16:59Yes.
- 17:00There is no reason.
- 17:01Wow, that's strong.
- 17:02For you to be worried about which supplement you need until you put the big Mac down,
- 17:06don't, don't call me about supplements because I'm not going to tell you that a supplement
- 17:10is effective because you're counteracting anything it does and I'm not going to look
- 17:14like I gave bad advice.
- 17:15And I was like, that's good.
- 17:19All right, let's do it wrong.
- 17:21But it is.
- 17:22It's like quit doing the damage.
- 17:24Yeah.
- 17:25Yeah.
- 17:26And if you know, stop doing that too and don't be afraid to take charge of your own health
- 17:29as well.
- 17:30And I think fear also stops a lot of people.
- 17:32For example, we were at lunch earlier in at when we ordered they asked, do you have any
- 17:38allergies?
- 17:39If you don't.
- 17:40Seed or 100%.
- 17:41So we say seed oil.
- 17:42So he comes back and he goes, okay, everything we don't cook with any seed oil.
- 17:48Megos, however, these dishes right here, they do have a combination of olive oil and vegetable
- 17:55oil.
- 17:56We're like, vegetable, that is seed oil, no seed oil.
- 18:00So then he comes back and I think there were two things on the entire menu that we could
- 18:04be able to have.
- 18:06But it just makes you think that how many people have been there and just took their word
- 18:10for it.
- 18:11And we're like, or didn't even ask.
- 18:12Or didn't even ask the question and we're like, well, okay.
- 18:16So even when after he was finished waiting on us, he's like, you know what, I just wanted
- 18:19to say thank you.
- 18:20I learned so much from you guys today.
- 18:23I would serve and wait on you any time.
- 18:27So how many, how many people do that?
- 18:30I literally, this team's heard this conversation this week already.
- 18:33Okay.
- 18:34The, I went to dinner.
- 18:36We went to ocean prime.
- 18:38Yeah.
- 18:39Big restaurant.
- 18:40All over the place.
- 18:41New one just opened in Fort Lauderdale and I went to dinner with David all red.
- 18:44If you know, you know, David.
- 18:45Yeah.
- 18:46The dry farm.
- 18:47Absolutely.
- 18:48Yeah.
- 18:49Yeah.
- 18:50So David and I are at dinner and server comes by and I'm like, well, this salad sounds
- 18:52really good.
- 18:53And I'm like, but can I ask you, it's some fancy name and the dressing that's like, you
- 18:56know, the house paradise dressing or something.
- 18:58I'm like, yeah.
- 18:59Can you find out what's in that before you bring me in?
- 19:02You know, it's seed oil.
- 19:03You know.
- 19:04I'm suspecting.
- 19:05But sometimes it's some fancy vinaigrette thing and I'm like, can I just ask firsthand?
- 19:10Not a problem.
- 19:11Okay.
- 19:12The reason is I have an allergy to seed oils and I just want to make sure that none of
- 19:16that everybody does.
- 19:17Everybody.
- 19:18Yeah.
- 19:19Exactly.
- 19:20So I'm just saying everybody does.
- 19:21And he's just like, oh, we don't make anything here with seed oil.
- 19:24And I went really like, I didn't know that.
- 19:26Actually, I thought that what actually would have been a bigger part of your marketing.
- 19:30Like there's a restaurant that just opened it down the street that literally promotes
- 19:33no seed oils in the restaurant.
- 19:35I'm like, that's amazing.
- 19:36I didn't know that about ocean prime.
- 19:37Oh, yes.
- 19:38But I'll confirm with the chef for you.
- 19:40Yep.
- 19:41Great.
- 19:42But later our salads come out and I'm like, comes by and I'm like, but I got a question
- 19:48for him.
- 19:49Like, my salad came in.
- 19:50I'm like, it looks amazing.
- 19:51Interesting.
- 19:52And I'm like, can you do me a favor?
- 19:55Like, did you, I checked with the chef for you and I'm like, oh, okay.
- 19:58Did you?
- 19:59And he's just like, yes.
- 20:00Again, no seed oils.
- 20:01This dressing is actually made with canola oil.
- 20:03There you go.
- 20:04It's a story.
- 20:05Yes.
- 20:06Organic canola oil.
- 20:08And I went, canola oil.
- 20:10And he's like, yes.
- 20:11Canola oil is not a seed oil.
- 20:13Canola oil is made out of corn.
- 20:15Oh, wow.
- 20:16And I looked at him.
- 20:17I went, okay.
- 20:18But like, he said he's the wrong person.
- 20:19I want to help you.
- 20:20I'm like, canola oil is literally made from rapeseed.
- 20:24Exactly.
- 20:25It just doesn't sound as literally like we can Google this for you.
- 20:28If you've got a russic acid, heart toxin, nobody buys rapeseed oil.
- 20:34So they call it canola.
- 20:35It markets better.
- 20:36Yeah.
- 20:37And he's like, I mean, yeah, I don't want this.
- 20:40I'm like, thank you, but I'm not going to eat it.
- 20:42Yeah.
- 20:43And that's why I asked you to check before you went and made the salad, right?
- 20:45So that, in fact, they did end up going replacing the salad and brought me like olive oil
- 20:49with vinegar.
- 20:50Yeah.
- 20:51I pretended that they don't cut most olive oils with, with some other kind of oil, make
- 20:54it cheaper.
- 20:55But you thought some more powerful than reality.
- 20:57So all the truth.
- 20:58And I was like, there's no idea.
- 20:59But with the point of the same story, same story.
- 21:02And it's like, because people just don't know.
- 21:05Yeah.
- 21:06And these are servers at nice restaurants.
- 21:07Yeah.
- 21:08And they did.
- 21:09Yeah.
- 21:10Yeah.
- 21:11Absolutely.
- 21:12They don't know the answers.
- 21:13And they mean, well, they don't know.
- 21:14They're just like another BS question from a crazy customer, right?
- 21:18And I said to them, I'm like, I don't mean to sound awful with this.
- 21:20I'm like, now, fortunately, I'm like, I really don't have an allergic reaction to
- 21:24seed oil, but I choose to keep it out of my body because it's very unhealthy.
- 21:27Right.
- 21:28And I'm like, but God forbid, I actually had a real allergy to somebody and you handed
- 21:32me an answer like that, like that wouldn't be cool.
- 21:36But I want to like, so yes.
- 21:38So you're, I totally get your story and I was kind of chuckling while you were telling
- 21:41it because I'm like, mm-hmm, same thing two weeks ago.
- 21:43Yeah.
- 21:44So I want to ask you guys because you deal specifically with helping people detox, particularly
- 21:50from seed oil.
- 21:51It's funny enough.
- 21:52Like your business is literally helping people seed oil detox and actually get into this
- 21:57and people realize that as soon as they do, they end up losing weight tremendously and
- 22:00so on because their body's not experiencing this crazy inflammatory response.
- 22:04But I want to go one place first, okay.
- 22:08And that is, you've made a lot of comments about image of God and so on and so forth.
- 22:13And a topic that has been coming up in my life a lot has been the power of words and
- 22:19the power of the words we speak over ourselves and our own lives.
- 22:25And this kind of stuff just keeps becoming a big thing and it's literally become such
- 22:29a big part of my life that I am choosing what I say so frequently now.
- 22:34And I'm like, even like, you know, somebody's just like, do you say something that's really
- 22:38funny?
- 22:39And they're like, I'm dying.
- 22:40I'm like, nope.
- 22:41I'm not saying that.
- 22:42They'll say it.
- 22:43I'm not going to say those words because and I had this conversation with Luke's story.
- 22:46You guys know Luke, I'm sure.
- 22:48And so I'm having this conversation with Luke and he's like, oh, wow, you know, I never
- 22:51really thought about that that way and when we're chatting, I'm like, Luke, let me give
- 22:54you an example.
- 22:55If I were like, duck, you know, I'm like, what just happened, you know, because granted,
- 23:01you feel safe in my company.
- 23:02So you don't actually believe that I'm screaming duck edge.
- 23:04Right.
- 23:05I'm like, I didn't move.
- 23:06But under normal circumstances, both they happen if somebody yelled duck and I'm like,
- 23:10your pupils are going to dilate, your sympathetic nervous system is going to get triggered,
- 23:14your digestive system is going to shut down, you're going to experience phasodilation,
- 23:17you're going to be, you know, and I went through like this list of things that are physiologically
- 23:21going to happen.
- 23:22I'm like, that's the power of one word from me.
- 23:25Like, what does your biology do with all of the statements that you make every day, all
- 23:32day?
- 23:34And recently, there was this weird switch that flipped in my mind and what I keep referring
- 23:40to lately is the IAM statements, okay?
- 23:45And I am are some pretty powerful words if we want to take this to a theological sense.
- 23:49They would say that they're the most powerful words when he was asking, who are you?
- 23:54I am.
- 23:55I am them that I am.
- 23:56You can I say, sent me.
- 23:58I am.
- 23:59I am.
- 24:00Yeah.
- 24:01And it's like, probably the two most powerful words when we translate them into English.
- 24:05But what do those words mean when we say things like, I am diabetic.
- 24:11I am fat.
- 24:13This is big.
- 24:14I am abused.
- 24:16I am a, I have cancer.
- 24:19Yes.
- 24:20Yes.
- 24:21These words, like we're literally declaring things over ourselves and I have to believe
- 24:28that and again, I'm not trying to talk, you know, the steward, small, you know, affirmation.
- 24:34Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:35But the reality is that these types of declarations have biological impacts on us.
- 24:40You guys see this every day, like when you're dealing with people who are coming in to talk
- 24:44about weight loss or talking about healthy, how do you see this?
- 24:48Are you kidding me?
- 24:49I mean, like this is like the number one thing you have to almost get them out of auto
- 24:54pilot and wake them up to even realize that there's, there's things I've been focused
- 24:58on.
- 24:59There's three things I've been focused on around this topic and I love this topic.
- 25:03What are the words that you're saying to other people?
- 25:08Okay.
- 25:09What are other people saying to you and then what are you saying to yourself?
- 25:14Right?
- 25:15So when I received, you know, I received a cancer diagnosis and I was in my pity party
- 25:22for several weeks talking about this, saying that word, thinking about it, but very quickly
- 25:27I realized that I was going to have to completely change the story I was telling myself.
- 25:32And so that's one of the reasons I even left the country got away from people.
- 25:36I really protected my thoughts, right?
- 25:38Took captive of those words, those thoughts, to make sure that I was not speaking this
- 25:43into my life or allowing anybody else to speak it into me.
- 25:45So to your point, with the people that we end up working with who come to us wanting
- 25:50metabolic help, you better believe it because a lot of times you were talking about people
- 25:55who have struggled with their health, their weight, their self image and they've been telling
- 25:59themselves things for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 plus years, not only what they've been saying,
- 26:07what people have been telling them and it's become who they are, wow.
- 26:12Right there, it's hard to get well if that has been the story that you've believed about
- 26:16your life.
- 26:17Like, that's not who, it's maybe where you are.
- 26:20It is not who you are.
- 26:22Yes.
- 26:23Yes.
- 26:24And I will say even deeper than that one step and that is who we believe we are, changes
- 26:30our actions, obviously, because if I believe I'm in prison, I act like I'm in prison,
- 26:35right?
- 26:36Like we're all familiar with the prison studies that were done psychologically.
- 26:39The inmates actually behaved like inmates and everybody's college students in the same
- 26:42class, right?
- 26:43Yeah.
- 26:44But the reality is is that even beyond that, I would say, how do at a cellular level, you
- 26:51know, if I tell myself I'm diabetic, I'm diabetic, I'm diabetic all the time, do
- 26:56our cells just start behaving like diabetic cells?
- 26:59Like we speak this stuff into existence as opposed to, and I'll say like, you both probably
- 27:05know Vision Lachyanium, right?
- 27:07Of course.
- 27:08And, you know, talking with Vision and doing all this stuff or whatever.
- 27:12So it's like, I would, I decided I was going to get into like, silver meditation.
- 27:14Now, coming from a Christian upbringing, I was always taught the meditation was bad.
- 27:19Of course.
- 27:20But I've unlearned this.
- 27:21Yeah.
- 27:22And part of that unlearning process is I cook some meditation.
- 27:25What is this?
- 27:26And it literally came from a moment that I'm like, what do I think the strongest thing
- 27:29about me is because rather than focusing on my weaknesses, I need to double down on
- 27:33my strengths, which is a professional goal that I've always had.
- 27:36Don't do the things you're bad at, hire somebody to do that and go do the things you're
- 27:39great at.
- 27:40And I'm like, I have a really strong brain.
- 27:43Like, I love my mind.
- 27:45Like, I'm smart and I'm willing to speak that over myself, you know, true or otherwise.
- 27:50But I'm willing to speak that over.
- 27:51I was like, I get a great brain.
- 27:53Like, what if I could harness just a percentage more of that power?
- 27:57And I mean, literally started doing silver training.
- 27:59And I'm like, and I remember being on an airplane one day and being like, I'm sick to my
- 28:05stomach that day and I'm like, man, I am just sick to my stomach and I'm on an airplane.
- 28:08Like, there's nothing I'm doing about this at this point, right?
- 28:10And I was like, oh, no, hmm, like, what if I were to just start having a conversation
- 28:17with the cells in my body and just playing the general of my own army here?
- 28:23And it's like literally like did my silver, you know, three, two, one, they kind of
- 28:28meditation.
- 28:29They got myself into my little silver state and whatever.
- 28:32And I was just like, all right, guys, this is what we need to do.
- 28:35Like, I need all immune response to currently right now, be focused on whatever's going
- 28:39on in my God, blah, blah, blah, and it's like, and like a, like a total freak show in
- 28:43my head at the time.
- 28:44And I'm just like, no, this is what I need.
- 28:46I like, any functions in the body that are non-essential, I need you to direct all of
- 28:50your bandwidth to supporting this particular system and literally just like started giving
- 28:54marching orders.
- 28:55Yeah.
- 28:56That sickness went away in zero minutes.
- 29:00And I was like, what just happened?
- 29:03It was the weird, and I was like, do you really have the power to control ourselves in
- 29:08that way, you know, taking captive every thought, as you just said?
- 29:11Like, and that sort of stuff, like, I want you to dig into this conversation about seed
- 29:15oils and all this other kind of stuff.
- 29:17But like, I think that's incidental to so much of this other big stuff and not to do all
- 29:24the talking.
- 29:25But like, I just watched a podcast release that came out the other day.
- 29:28I was on a podcast with J.M. Ryerson.
- 29:30You probably haven't heard of him, but he's a lot of similar stuff.
- 29:33And he's like, what biohack would you recommend to anybody starting today?
- 29:38And it's like, I didn't remember the podcast was recorded whatever ago.
- 29:41And I'm like, watching this reel and my response, I was like, that's right.
- 29:44You get it.
- 29:45My response was quit the negative thinking because it doesn't matter what biohack you're
- 29:51doing.
- 29:52And it doesn't matter what you're eating.
- 29:53And it doesn't matter all of this.
- 29:54If you are filled with brain toxicity, none of that changes.
- 30:00Like, you're just going to keep speaking death.
- 30:03Yeah.
- 30:04And even like you said, just a few minutes ago, and lately, one of the things that I keep
- 30:09on saying back over and over, even to myself, is in Ephesians where it says, end to him.
- 30:16It's end to him who will give you, imagine, more than you could ever think.
- 30:20Or imagine whose power is within you.
- 30:24So if that same power is within me, then I do have that power to be able to heal from
- 30:30anything.
- 30:31Jesus can be able to come up power to death, right?
- 30:33Christ, he's good.
- 30:34Yeah, exactly.
- 30:35So, but even like you said, you know, I was sick to my stomach.
- 30:38So a lot of us have been taught growing up that you're sick, right?
- 30:45So saying, I am sick.
- 30:48So you're now teaching your body that you are sick.
- 30:51One of the things as my kids were growing up, they were never allowed, and I never allowed
- 30:56them to say, I am sick.
- 30:58What I would always say is they would go, I'm not feeling well and I go, okay, you're
- 31:02not feeling well because your body is expressing health.
- 31:05That is an expression of health.
- 31:07So changing that, I've never once ever heard them say, even one time, I am sick.
- 31:13They'll say that I really don't like when I'm expressing health, right?
- 31:17Like they're throwing up.
- 31:18They've got to coming out one end or the other end, but that's how powerful that is.
- 31:22And so then going, okay, my body is expressing health.
- 31:26What can I do to be able to help my body better express health?
- 31:31That could be getting into that meditative state.
- 31:34Checking in with yourself, going, okay, spirit, what do you need?
- 31:39Physical body, what do you need?
- 31:41This, you can just start checking with those different parts.
- 31:44And then they'll let you know, hey, here's what it is that I need right now.
- 31:47I need you to shut your stink and think enough right now is what I need you to do and
- 31:52start believing in the fact that, yeah, God did put a power in your body to heal.
- 31:57Now you need to surrender and like go of that, right?
- 32:00Because I really truly believe that there are things and energies that we hold onto and
- 32:06we all know that we are energy, right?
- 32:09There were even times when over the course of this weekend, and I would tell him, I'd
- 32:13be like, you're standing around somebody for example, and there's a lot of people in
- 32:17this building that I'm like, you know what, I need to go outside for a minute to be away
- 32:23from that energy right there because it's not mixing well with mine.
- 32:29And so you got to get clear with that, but think about how that is just on a daily basis.
- 32:34And so, yes, words are, and that's, you look at spelling, right?
- 32:39Words are spells.
- 32:41And we're casting good spells on ourselves on a daily basis, casting bad ones.
- 32:47They say the thoughts that we have every single day, repeat themselves.
- 32:50We have about 80,000 different thoughts that are going through our heads every single day.
- 32:55And what they're shaying is that about 80, 80% of those are negative, right?
- 33:01So if that's the case, we're not getting the positive ones through the media, and we're
- 33:04not getting positive ones through the media.
- 33:06And we really need to start speaking live, and that being is with speaking life into
- 33:11ourselves.
- 33:12Yeah.
- 33:13Hard to believe that.
- 33:14Dude, I love that.
- 33:15So let me go here with this and let me hear what y'all think.
- 33:18So.
- 33:19Well, I'm just.
- 33:20We spitballed.
- 33:21Yeah.
- 33:22I've got a couple of savants here, man, I want to learn right now, but I'm thinking like,
- 33:29so like even when your story being on the plane, or I remember like thinking when I got
- 33:33this cancer diagnosis, or let's say you, you know, you stump your toe and you're, you
- 33:38know, and you kick the door at the three a.m. the morning and you scream out this nasty
- 33:42cuss word in your own pain.
- 33:44But what if, what if we knew that in that moment that whatever our body is doing is a therapeutic
- 33:51healing response?
- 33:53And the reason I'm saying that is if you don't believe that, then what you're going to dip
- 33:56into, and this is where my head goes, you're going to go deep into fear because you don't
- 34:01have control of the situation and you think that it's a bad situation.
- 34:06What if it wasn't?
- 34:07What if what your body is doing is exactly what it needed to be doing in this moment, in
- 34:14the environment and the circumstances that you have created?
- 34:16Well, that takes away all the fear because you know, your body is hardwired to heal and
- 34:21it would never do anything to hurt you and it's always trying to heal you.
- 34:25So I think if you can come from that place as well, whatever you're going to, you can
- 34:28remove the fear component away from it and I think that may be the underlying cause connected
- 34:35to the thought because really the fear thoughts are the ones that are making us sick.
- 34:40I don't know.
- 34:41What are your thoughts on that?
- 34:42No.
- 34:43I agree with that.
- 34:44I genuinely believe that what I speak is what I, what I live.
- 34:48Yeah.
- 34:49Like the words I speak is exactly like you're speaking your own existence.
- 34:52Like yeah.
- 34:53And again, we'll go back to a biblical text and say, you know, in the beginning God spoke
- 34:56and you know, I mean, John one, like literally goes into the beginning was the word, you
- 35:01know, and the word became flesh, like literally everything about it, you know, everything started
- 35:07with the word and I don't believe that, you know, especially if we want to talk about
- 35:11from a biblical perspective, like if we're made in the image of God, then our words have
- 35:14power too.
- 35:15Yeah.
- 35:16Amen to that.
- 35:17And the truth of the matter is is like just as his words spoke things into existence and
- 35:21his words were able to create or destroy life, I think our words have that same type of
- 35:28power.
- 35:29And I think there's, there's a metaphysical reaction to a lot of that that's a different
- 35:33conversation when we get into like quantum energies and whatnot, but even from a psychological
- 35:38standpoint though, you know, Henry Ford, whether you think you can or whether you think you
- 35:41can.
- 35:42You're right.
- 35:43Absolutely right.
- 35:44Exactly.
- 35:45He was so simple, but so brilliant.
- 35:46He was so out there.
- 35:47I understand quantum physics and that's okay, maybe, maybe no, but the truth is, like he
- 35:52just absolutely understood that, you know, your belief system was going to be what defined
- 35:57you.
- 35:58Right.
- 35:59Rob was just talking a second ago about, I'm sorry, Derek was, he's a derelict, yeah,
- 36:04derelict.
- 36:05Yeah.
- 36:06We was just talking a second ago and made the comment about, what is it?
- 36:10That's a loss.
- 36:11I called you Derek and then lost my trade of thought, um, which we said a lot, you know,
- 36:15he did say a lot of, you know, there was something very specific that you said about, um,
- 36:20shoot, I don't remember what I was talking about right there.
- 36:23I lost my thought.
- 36:24I shouldn't have distracted myself.
- 36:25I thought that was so easy.
- 36:26Um, but we were talking about the, the power of words and, and being spells, spells
- 36:31spell or that.
- 36:32Okay.
- 36:33But anyway, talking about you don't, we're not, I'm not sick.
- 36:35I'm expressing health.
- 36:36Yeah.
- 36:37The symptoms of being here.
- 36:38Everything about our, everything about our health and everything about our words,
- 36:41like we're speaking it and our belief system defines it and, and the psychological part
- 36:47of that that we, we define existence because we, oh, he was talking about energy and being
- 36:52away from people who had negative energy and just needed to step away for a moment.
- 36:56It's like, I think the more sensitive you get to that, you know, it's that, you know,
- 37:00what you give is what you receive kind of thing.
- 37:02And it's like, when you're around people with that type of negative energy, it just, it
- 37:07never ends, right?
- 37:08Like, you know, I've got a relative of mine.
- 37:11You, I found myself being more bold in conversations because, you know, I'll give a phone call and
- 37:17we'll talk and talk and talk and talk.
- 37:18And some days I just, we're 15 minutes in and I'm like, oh, my gosh, yeah, and I, and
- 37:24I love her to death, but I'm like, stop.
- 37:27Like just, and I will say, tell you what, why don't you tell me something good right now?
- 37:31I don't know.
- 37:32Maybe you're having a good hair day.
- 37:33Tell me something about what's going on, but I need to hear something positive right
- 37:37now.
- 37:38Like, because you, you are continuing to create your own existence and I don't want you
- 37:43to create mine with that.
- 37:44Like, we're, we're drawing a line.
- 37:46You're not welcome past here until that shift.
- 37:50And, and I told you guys, like I was talking with JJ Virgin yesterday on the show and she
- 37:54was telling me all about when she was, when her son was in the accident.
- 37:58Yeah.
- 37:59We remember.
- 38:00And very clearly.
- 38:01She just kept going into, you know, the doctor, oh, you know, that, and her other son
- 38:05Bryce was just like, wait, I just calculated that that's a point zero, one, two, five percent
- 38:10chance then.
- 38:11And JJ went, that's not a zero.
- 38:13Mm-hmm.
- 38:14And I'm like, man, do I love that?
- 38:16Yeah.
- 38:17And it was just the mindset and she's like, and if a nurse came to walk into the room and
- 38:21looked like she was in a bad mood, out, yeah, she's like, I don't want negative energy
- 38:26in this room right now.
- 38:27And she goes, and it wasn't because I believed that our negative energy was going to cause
- 38:32a problem more than it was a care issue.
- 38:33She goes, because even when a doctor was working on him, she goes, I would always ask the
- 38:37doctor, do you believe we on the shadow of a doubt that what you're going to do is going
- 38:42to be effective?
- 38:43Yeah.
- 38:44And if the doctor couldn't answer, yes, I want a different doctor.
- 38:47Absolutely.
- 38:48She said, because you are not going into perform a procedure with doubt.
- 38:52Because if you doubt, your performance is going to go in without as an option.
- 38:57Yeah.
- 38:58Doubt's not an option.
- 38:59And what I believe is that my son will be restored to 110% of what he was prior to this
- 39:04happen.
- 39:05And if we don't agree, hallway, yeah, wow.
- 39:09And I was like, I mean, that was about as mama bearers, you can be as a great, right?
- 39:12Sure.
- 39:13Because I'm like, you don't want J.J. Mama bear on your e-mail.
- 39:16No.
- 39:17Now with those arms.
- 39:18Exactly.
- 39:19But it just, but it makes me think like, do we approach everything in life that way?
- 39:25Like if you don't believe that this is gone, done hallway, like if you're not in a hundred
- 39:32percent alignment, fix that.
- 39:35And I think we move forward with this limp all the time and then the limp becomes part
- 39:39of our identity.
- 39:40I agree.
- 39:41And I think it's, I think it's part of being a human to have some doubt, you know, you
- 39:49know what I mean.
- 39:50So even just having this conversation, like, yeah, you're right.
- 39:53I need to be way better about this.
- 39:55But what I'm also thinking right now is even looking at you to, for example, is you guys
- 40:02both have stories of being able to overcome a lot of challenges.
- 40:06And I really feel like God uses you guys, uses us in these stories for other people to
- 40:12be able to see, to go, you know what, that little bit of doubt that I had, if they can
- 40:17be able to overcome that, then I can too.
- 40:20So we get to be able to be these walking role models and examples for other people.
- 40:25And I really feel like even with you doing this podcast, that's helping those people that
- 40:30were like, you know what, I didn't think that I could ever do that.
- 40:32I didn't think I could ever even, you know, do a podcast, for example, like literally
- 40:38both of you walk around and Rob, I know your story about being overweight and then losing
- 40:42all of that weight.
- 40:43And now being a picture of health for people like you're a billboard for your own business.
- 40:48Like you know that and you've always been skinny, I hate you, but I was almost dead
- 40:52of cancer.
- 40:53I mean, can I at least play the cancer car?
- 40:55You know, I've seen Rob and I look back.
- 40:59You just had cancer.
- 41:00Yeah.
- 41:01And you get more sympathy than you try overweight kid.
- 41:04You try wearing husky jeans as a kid, but you only leave right now, I mean, but the reality
- 41:13is it's like you're you're living an aspirational life.
- 41:16Like that's really what it was really like you both live a life that I think people want.
- 41:21And I know we've had conversations about this in the past, right?
- 41:24It's you call yourselves the happy, healthy guys because just literally that phrase itself
- 41:28speaks into existence that the reality that you want to be true and is and I think what
- 41:35ends up happening is people are attracted to that and they're like the happy, healthy guys
- 41:39like who's like, oh, I don't want to be around that.
- 41:41Like who says that, right?
- 41:43Like that's clearly is not the thing and you guys are living that though because if you
- 41:48both went and gained 50 pounds, you'd be out of business.
- 41:50It wouldn't look good.
- 41:51No.
- 41:52Yeah.
- 41:53If they didn't met us 15 years ago, they definitely wouldn't want to follow us around
- 41:56back there.
- 41:57Yeah.
- 41:58Absolutely.
- 41:59And that's true.
- 42:00But you're living what you're preaching and you have to like you literally have to and
- 42:07I think that's what you do so well though is that people are people want to be like you.
- 42:12People want to live the lifestyle that you do.
- 42:15They want to experience the health and mobility and vibrance that you guys both have.
- 42:19Like why would they not want to be part of that and from a business perspective, you're
- 42:23a billboard.
- 42:24Yeah.
- 42:25Absolutely.
- 42:26And I love that too because it helps keep us accountable.
- 42:29Yes.
- 42:30No matter where it is.
- 42:31Yeah.
- 42:32Exactly.
- 42:33I wrote a book called Radical Generosity and when I keep telling people was I'm regretting
- 42:37it.
- 42:38It's something ultimate accountability to write the book, right?
- 42:41Totally.
- 42:42Yes.
- 42:43Published it and put my face on it clearly.
- 42:44And I was like, now when I'm acting in ways that are not radically generous, I'm like.
- 42:49Yeah.
- 42:50Exactly.
- 42:51Same thing.
- 42:52But yeah, it's the truth though.
- 42:53Like you're walking billboards of living the life that people want to aspire to.
- 42:57And I think that's true of any personal brand.
- 43:02Yeah.
- 43:03And I really like what you said at the beginning about that and I'm really proud of us for
- 43:06the fact.
- 43:07Like you said, even walking around that room, we get to be able to stand in the middle,
- 43:13like understand the spiritual side, understand the science side and really be a practical role
- 43:20model that like literally anybody could be able to do the things that we do.
- 43:24They don't have to spend a million dollars a year to be able to achieve the health
- 43:28outcomes that we have.
- 43:30And that's one of the things that I love because everything that we do, and that's
- 43:33what we always tease like one of our superpowers is we can take things that are really confusing
- 43:38and make them really simple.
- 43:40So that we were having a conversation yesterday and somebody was like, oh, your system and
- 43:44everything is really complicated or confusing.
- 43:47And I'm like, no, no, no, let us explain that to you.
- 43:50And then they're like, oh, wait a second.
- 43:52That is really simple.
- 43:53And I will say this as a testimonial to you both because I did your program.
- 43:57Absolutely.
- 43:58Two years ago or something now or something and it was funny because I'm very conscious
- 44:03of the way I look.
- 44:05I'm very conscious of my weight and I'm going to work out every day guy and I'm in the
- 44:08middle of a 75 hard right now, which is just absurd.
- 44:11Congratulations.
- 44:12Yeah.
- 44:13I just finished that earlier.
- 44:14Oh, did you really?
- 44:15Oh, yeah.
- 44:16Yeah.
- 44:17I did it last year.
- 44:18I've got to do it every year.
- 44:19Kind of mindset.
- 44:20Yeah.
- 44:21And it's miserable when you're traveling.
- 44:23But the mindset is the beauty of it.
- 44:25It really is.
- 44:26It's just the discipline of doing it that makes the integrity built yourself into
- 44:32insane.
- 44:33Yeah, I'll be honest with you.
- 44:34There's been a couple of things that I'm like, you know, did I take a progress pick
- 44:37that day?
- 44:38And I'm just like, well, not, I mean, not like I normally did and I was like, is that
- 44:41count is missing a day?
- 44:42I'll call you right now on it.
- 44:44It counts because anytime you compromise one thing and you're like, eh, maybe this isn't
- 44:49that big a deal.
- 44:50And the next thing you know, you're cutting corners right in love.
- 44:53Yeah.
- 44:54Yeah.
- 44:55I will.
- 44:56I will go to like three in the morning.
- 44:57I'm a bit like, oh, I got to do the progress pictures like three am.
- 44:59Yeah.
- 45:00So I know I've done that.
- 45:01And I'm really good about the majors, like making sure that I get at least two workouts
- 45:05in a day.
- 45:06Great.
- 45:07Following a diet plan.
- 45:08I'm great.
- 45:09But it's like, it's that stupid progress pick that gets me because if I'm at home, I wake
- 45:13up and there's a giant mirror hanging nearby and it's like, oh, yeah, that's my mirror
- 45:16that I do that.
- 45:17And I'm in a hotel, like it just, I don't think about it every day.
- 45:21It's like, I'm, now I'm taking pictures every day because I'm in a bunch of pictures.
- 45:24And I'm like, well, yeah, those are pictures.
- 45:25And I'm like, if they're not shirtless pictures in the bathroom, right?
- 45:28Like it's out there.
- 45:29The same picture, although I'm taking pictures and like that kind of stuff, but or sometimes
- 45:34if it's like an outdoor workout, like if today's workout is like, I have to do two indoors,
- 45:40I forgive myself for that.
- 45:41And like, I'm okay with two indoor workouts because to me, the point is two workouts.
- 45:45But the, the point of the matter is is like, I've done your program, you know, I did it
- 45:49a couple of years ago and I mean, literally, I was like losing weight in a week and I'm
- 45:54like, holy smokes.
- 45:55And it's like, and I'm not, I'm not a big guy as much as my body dysmorphia would argue.
- 45:59Yeah.
- 46:00But the reality is, I mean, it was just like instant and I was like, what in the world?
- 46:05Like, and it literally was this combination of small things and it was, you know, the
- 46:11gorge the first day, you know, but the SET and the minerals and the salt and stuff that
- 46:17you're adding into the diet, but it, it literally is seed oil reductions, right?
- 46:21Like that's really what most of it boils down to is certainly mixing up your food so
- 46:25that you're getting multiple different types of nutrients and not the same one over and
- 46:28over again because I eat my vegetables because I have a sparigus every day.
- 46:31Yeah.
- 46:32But mixing that kind of stuff up and it's like, but it's, it's simple.
- 46:38And I would say that it's not revolutionary science.
- 46:43Hear me out of that.
- 46:44I'm just going to disin the program.
- 46:45I'm saying that it's almost basic stuff.
- 46:48Yeah.
- 46:49It is basic stuff.
- 46:50And I would say that the science behind why it's happening is really brilliant, which
- 46:55is taken about 15 years to even get to that point because, yeah, you're right on the
- 47:00front end.
- 47:01There's really only three steps, the re-awakened day, that course day like you were saying
- 47:05the SET oil and then spending five weeks helping the body to be able to detox from all
- 47:12that SET oil that's inside there.
- 47:14And people don't realize that that is a metabolism disruptor.
- 47:19And so it's 100% disrupting and stopping the body's metabolism from being able to work.
- 47:24And then that's where magic starts happening in your body is losing the weight.
- 47:28But it is utilizing real food sequencing that we've literally studied on what combinations
- 47:35and how to put those things to be able to get together in the very right recipe.
- 47:40Yeah, it is real food, proteins, right, vegetables, fruits.
- 47:46There's nothing revolutionary about that.
- 47:48Those are all the foods that God's given as she can go shop for them at the grocery store,
- 47:52but it's putting them together in the right combination that's going to be healing for
- 47:57that particular person's body.
- 47:59Yeah.
- 48:00And one of the things I would say is that the, yeah, I don't mean to discount the combination
- 48:06of science behind that.
- 48:08But it's eat healthy.
- 48:10Yeah.
- 48:11We're introducing garbage into your life.
- 48:13And the one thing that you guys taught me so much, because I'm in total SET oil detox
- 48:18right now as well.
- 48:19And again, RFK is now shining the light on SET oils and everything.
- 48:23And you guys are like, oh, I've been screaming this for a while.
- 48:26Didn't see that.
- 48:27Exactly.
- 48:28The one thing that I think, and I don't know if most people even think about, but it was
- 48:30literally your program that drew my attention to it as crazy as this is, is like, sure,
- 48:35I can go to Ocean Prime and tell them to make sure there's no SET oil on there.
- 48:39But when I went and got a massage that weekend, exactly.
- 48:42Did I pay attention to what was being rubbed from head to toe all around my skin?
- 48:47Yeah.
- 48:48And I was like, oh, wait, and it's like, and I've got, I love in Florida, right?
- 48:53Like so living in Florida, you just expect the occasional over sun exposure, because if
- 48:57I'm actually home, I'll go play beach volleyball or something, and I love outdoor time.
- 49:01Absolutely.
- 49:02So outdoor time comes with having to take care of your skin, too.
- 49:06And I was disrupted looking at the backs of bottles that existed in my bathroom, because
- 49:13I thought because I wouldn't use normal sunblock that I was absolutely, you know, I'll use
- 49:18third rock.
- 49:19You think if I'm out there for any period of time, like very gurney stuff, like I will
- 49:23absolutely use third rock, or I'll use like young goose's bio shield if it's just a regular
- 49:28day.
- 49:29I know, well, first I know the formulators, which is kind of gives me a little bit of a leg
- 49:32up on the average sunbite.
- 49:34Those are really good products, and I'm comfortable with those.
- 49:37But I started turning over, because I'm like, I won't use, you know, banana boat sunscreen,
- 49:42like I'm not going to use a garbage, you know, I understand that this is, you know, nano
- 49:46based non-zinc, like, and logically, I know I don't want that stuff absorbing into my
- 49:51skin, because literally I understand that it's going into my skin, and then immediately
- 49:55into my bloodstream.
- 49:56And what am I doing?
- 49:57Yeah.
- 49:58And then I started looking like Neutrogena body oil, like sunflower, and I'm like, there
- 50:03you go.
- 50:04Wait a minute.
- 50:05And literally, I'm like, Google it, and I'm like, a sunflower considered a pseudo, I see
- 50:08other.
- 50:09Very high omega liquid.
- 50:10Literally.
- 50:11Literally.
- 50:12Literally.
- 50:13I'm just like, oh my gosh.
- 50:15I turned over, darnly, every bottle in my bathroom, and it's like, son of a, like, man,
- 50:20actually.
- 50:21And I was like, this is insane.
- 50:22And I mean, I literally went out, and you'll laugh at this, because I bought a bottle
- 50:26of oil, deliberately, that's avocado-based massage oil.
- 50:32And I'm like, anytime that I go get a massage, I'll take my own stuff, I don't know what
- 50:38toxins are rubbing on me, so we're going to use this if that's okay.
- 50:41And I do the exact same thing.
- 50:43Isn't it funny?
- 50:44Yeah.
- 50:45Yeah.
- 50:46We are bringing, well, I don't want anything on my body if I'm that diligent.
- 50:49I'm not going to eat it.
- 50:50Don't rub it on my skin.
- 50:51You can't do it.
- 50:52Yeah.
- 50:53But, and that's what I think the, everybody kind of has a seed oil consciousness now, but
- 50:58I don't think they fully understand this conversation, really, how damaging these oils really
- 51:05are, and they don't just, you can't just quit eating them.
- 51:09I mean, you should, and you need to, excuse me, but you have to be able to know how to
- 51:14get rid of them in a safe way, because you can't, a lot of people who even try to fast,
- 51:19one of the reasons they can't even fast is because they're dumping so much linoleic acid
- 51:25into their bloodstream, it's making them sick.
- 51:29And so it's not even that it's a hormonal insulin cortisol issue.
- 51:34It's really more of like, you're dumping in toxins and you cannot metabolize industrial
- 51:39seed oil.
- 51:40It's not metabolized.
- 51:41It's an ox limb.
- 51:42It's a, it's a metabolite that's stored into your fatty tissue because that's where
- 51:46your body pushes it to protect your organs, and it will down regulate your metabolic profile.
- 51:52So one of the beauties, as you know, with our program is the ability to set up an environment
- 51:56we can safely begin to remove seed oil, support the body with the right minerals so you're
- 52:01not losing any muscle, and that way your body as it's dumping seed oil, we're eliciting
- 52:06a hormone or a fatty acid called meat acid.
- 52:10Are you familiar with meat acid?
- 52:11Yes.
- 52:12It's a risky fatty acid that comes in when your body is now safely removing and dumping
- 52:17these out of your body, so you can stabilize those tissues.
- 52:20But we've done all the work to lay out the program, so you don't have to try to figure
- 52:26all this out or mesh yourself up.
- 52:28So there are little things, but the beauty of it is we've taken the best of what we know
- 52:33is out there.
- 52:34We've looked at our stories, how we've overcome our own metabolic illness, so we've looked
- 52:38at real food nutrition and really holistic based approaches, and we just put it all together
- 52:42in this system that looks very simple and it is very simple, but the results are unbelievable
- 52:50what can happen in a very short amount of time.
- 52:53We just don't know really anything out there, not that other programs can't help you
- 52:57and that they don't, but to get the result that we get and the way we do it, it's pretty
- 53:01remarkable, especially in a world of $100,000 equipment and machines.
- 53:07And maybe you should have just laid down a strong metabolic foundation first before you
- 53:12start stacking.
- 53:13I mean, we know if you build a house on a bad foundation, it's going to cost you a lot
- 53:17of time and a lot of money.
- 53:19And so we've built it on the rock and that metabolic foundation we believe is primary and sets
- 53:25the tone for anything and everything you do.
- 53:27I mean, what is the systems that people are using are only going to be as effective as
- 53:32the health, the metabolic profile of the body, right?
- 53:35As you can give red light therapy to a corpse and the corpse is not going to benefit from
- 53:41the red light therapy.
- 53:42Exactly.
- 53:43It ain't until it's put down the supplement and also put down the big mat.
- 53:47It put it down, right?
- 53:49Yeah.
- 53:50So anyway, I don't know if I went off down this period, but I think it's that important
- 53:54and I think that is one of the beauties of the program we've created is we take that
- 53:59issue head on, you'll never really heal your metabolism.
- 54:03If you don't have some type of sophistication on how do I really get red of these toxins
- 54:07out of my body?
- 54:08Because they're not going anywhere just by stopping eating them.
- 54:12Well, I mean, I shouldn't say that unless you're not going to eat seedle for the next
- 54:14five years, which it's potentially you run into it.
- 54:18Absolutely.
- 54:19And you don't want to be fragile.
- 54:20No.
- 54:21Right.
- 54:22So you said something and as we're wrapping here, like I want to do one more conversation
- 54:26because you used a word that also triggered me this week.
- 54:30Okay.
- 54:31In good way or in good ways, in good ways, in good ways.
- 54:34And that is the word fasting, okay.
- 54:37Because you made a comment about fasting and which, you know, you can't fast because
- 54:41your body's filled with lemonade gas and so I like got it.
- 54:44You can't process all of it and 100% agreed.
- 54:47And I was having a conversation recently with Ben Azotti and we were on this whole topic
- 54:50of fasting and you know, you guys know Ben.
- 54:52It's great.
- 54:53He's awesome.
- 54:54And I say he's another normal one.
- 54:55Yeah.
- 54:56Oh, totally.
- 54:57He's yes.
- 54:58And in this conversation with him, like, we get into this whole fasting thing and the
- 55:02fasting for 24 hours and in, you know, what really means to be in a state of ketosis
- 55:06and, you know, how your body is actually functioning and what's happening hour after
- 55:10hour and so on and so forth.
- 55:12And, but I want to bring this together because part of your program is intermittent fasting.
- 55:17Right.
- 55:18Like you're supposed to not, you're supposed to keep in the small window for your food
- 55:21intake and so on.
- 55:23And part of that is the ketosis process that takes place, understood.
- 55:28And triggering autophagy for cellular cleanup while you're resetting metabolic process.
- 55:35And one of the things I said to Ben, because he made a comment about 24 hours in because
- 55:38the first 24 hours of fasting is usually the hardest.
- 55:41And then anytime that somebody fast beyond 24 hours, they usually report that they feel
- 55:45great.
- 55:46Yeah.
- 55:47And he commented that he overfasts he thinks that he's actually gotten criticism for
- 55:50fasting too much.
- 55:51Yeah.
- 55:52And so it's actually kind of fun to me is because I'm like, we started off talking about
- 55:56this ancient wisdom come back.
- 55:58Yeah.
- 55:59And he made a comment about this idea that one of the things that happens after 24 hours
- 56:03of fasting is that you end up with a mental clarity and just cognitive function beyond
- 56:10what you normally have because part of it is that once you've expelled all of anything
- 56:15in your body that requires digestion, the bandwidth, the energy, the limited supply of
- 56:21energy that your body has no longer has to direct that energy at your digestive system
- 56:25and it can actually start refocusing some of that energy to other areas that may need
- 56:29additional support, right?
- 56:31Kind of like the Wi-Fi at the office.
- 56:33Too many people are on it and people start streaming.
- 56:35Everybody's internet slows down.
- 56:38But several people go home at five o'clock.
- 56:40It's amazing how much bandwidth you get later at night because no one else is pulling
- 56:44on that power supply meal.
- 56:46And I was like, well, Ben, give me an opinion on this and I want to hear what you guys
- 56:49have to say about this as well because we've talked about this ancient wisdom and it's
- 56:54like with everything prayer and fasting and I was like, God it, I grew up at a Christian
- 57:00tradition that would say that fasting is because you give something up for God so that God
- 57:05will be willing to give you something in return, right?
- 57:08It's a sacrifice which does this and I'm like, I wanted opinion because my thought on
- 57:13this now in my unlearning process is I believe prayer and fasting and I believe the idea of
- 57:21sacrificial, whatever, but do I also believe that through fasting comes an incredible mental
- 57:29acuity that allows you to actually solve problems, process information, be able to hear
- 57:37from God and all this other kind of stuff because physiologically we have stopped the work
- 57:43load that our bodies requiring.
- 57:47Does that make bringing science and spirituality together even even clearer?
- 57:52Because to me, I was like, oh, like never thought of that before, but that's kind of amazing
- 57:57to put it in those terms that like literally I solve problems better when I'm in a very
- 58:01clear mind is fasting just next level clarity and that's the benefit it brings.
- 58:07It also brings with it autophagy and all these other types of things.
- 58:09But like, if you guys, if you thought about that, is that a thing?
- 58:13Oh, of course, yeah, I probably over abused fasting back in the day coming out of my diagnosis
- 58:19and really looking at because I was the guy eating six meals a day trying to be bigger with
- 58:24all the insulin hits and then getting the cancer diagnosis and then re-evaluating everything
- 58:29and then eating less till now I'm really eating very, very small windows.
- 58:34I probably abused it, but I've gotten a healthier relationship with it.
- 58:38It's like anything.
- 58:39It is a hormidic stress.
- 58:40It's going to be very powerful.
- 58:42I think a lot of people can abuse it and if you're doing it too much, it can have the opposite
- 58:47effect.
- 58:48It can definitely raise cortisol.
- 58:50It can actually tear down muscle tissue, particularly if you're in other stressful situations.
- 58:54Yeah, it's in combination with other multiple stressors like how many, if you're cold plunging
- 58:58and getting insana and you're fasting, you're probably doing the triple threat there.
- 59:02You may not adapt to that.
- 59:04But we also, you know, when fasting, we read about in the Bible, you know, Jesus obviously
- 59:08did a 40 day fast and the things that he was able to accomplish, you know, he really
- 59:13showed us the way, but also at that time, you know, it wasn't 94% of people were metabolically
- 59:19unhealthy.
- 59:20Correct.
- 59:21So we're in a different age right now.
- 59:23Fasting can be very beneficial and I've experienced the benefit you're talking about.
- 59:28I've done multiple three day fast, which I do really well with.
- 59:32Try to do those maybe once a year, maybe twice a year, which I think are super beneficial.
- 59:37You can also get a topige in a bit benefits without having to do 24 hour fast.
- 59:42You can also get a lot of the benefits of fasting with the right amount of nutrient and
- 59:46the right amount of minerals because that way you can preserve muscle, but still upregulate
- 59:50all of the metabolic hormones to get the clarity as well.
- 59:54So I think there's a lot of approaches to it.
- 59:56There's no one size fits all, but I think for a lot of people fasting made, because a lot
- 1:00:02of people are already in low energy states from years of dieting and yo-yo dieting and
- 1:00:06calorie restriction and low carb and keto to go into a fasting for them.
- 1:00:10That's brutal for them and they're not going to get mental clarity.
- 1:00:14Us three who are metabolically healthy have put the work in and have had the privilege
- 1:00:18of being around incredible people that we've learned from.
- 1:00:20We can go into these fastest states and really thrive for short period of time.
- 1:00:24That would be my thoughts on that.
- 1:00:27So yeah.
- 1:00:28Yeah, no, that's great.
- 1:00:29Yeah, because I think also the mentality for a lot of people that are doing fasting
- 1:00:34maybe even for the first time, they're still doing it, going into it with the mentality
- 1:00:38of doing a diet, a diet being, I'm going to reduce calories and as a result of reducing
- 1:00:44calories, I'm going to get an effect, call it topology, call it losing weight, cause
- 1:00:49it, you know, calling whatever it is you want to call it, but it's still for the same
- 1:00:52purpose to reduce your calories.
- 1:00:55And so then people can become addicted to that.
- 1:00:59So now I'm just going to go, so now you got the omas or people only eating one meal a day,
- 1:01:03you know, people for that same exact, well, I agree with you, I think most people fast
- 1:01:06cause they think they're getting the benefit of reduced calories.
- 1:01:09Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:01:10Absolutely.
- 1:01:11Which is not the point of it at all.
- 1:01:12No, not at all.
- 1:01:13You're actually going to downregulate your metabolic profile, especially over a corrected
- 1:01:16period of time, which a lot of people do.
- 1:01:18Well, and I actually know people who are like, oh, I, I intermittent fast every day and
- 1:01:21I'm like, not the plan.
- 1:01:22And they're like, oh, I do it every day.
- 1:01:24I'm like, yes, the problem is, is if you intermittent fast every day, it's not fasting
- 1:01:27anymore.
- 1:01:28Now it's just a program.
- 1:01:29Now you're, you're basically in a famine.
- 1:01:31Your body is shutting down, raising cortisol to store everything you eat as body fat.
- 1:01:37Correct.
- 1:01:38Not good.
- 1:01:39Which is exactly the conversation.
- 1:01:40That's a bad one.
- 1:01:41You want a fat, you want to intermittent fast three, four days a week?
- 1:01:43Yeah.
- 1:01:44Do it.
- 1:01:45Yeah.
- 1:01:46Not seven days a week.
- 1:01:47Like you're causing yourself damage when you get to that.
- 1:01:48Yeah.
- 1:01:49And I think that's a beauty, even with you were talking about our program and the technology
- 1:01:51is that now you, you are doing it and as I'm thinking about it, it's like we're teaching
- 1:01:56people how to live, happier, healthier lifestyle, not just through the program really, but for
- 1:02:03the rest of their life.
- 1:02:04Because now they've got some structure.
- 1:02:06Now we do, they have structure, but who doesn't like to do things with the community of
- 1:02:10people that are all on the same track for the same purpose, the same intention there to
- 1:02:16be able to help each other when that person is like, oh my gosh, I haven't eaten, you know,
- 1:02:19for the last eight hours.
- 1:02:21That same person is like, I got to eat, you know, breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner
- 1:02:26that person like, if I don't have that, I am going to be hangry and you have those people
- 1:02:30that are there going up, don't worry about it, it's going to be okay.
- 1:02:35Yeah.
- 1:02:36So you said something there that I love and I kind of want to wrap on that point and
- 1:02:40that is what you guys do, the happy and healthy are two very different things, but at the
- 1:02:46same time, very harmonious and that is, you know, our week here at the Aspery Convention
- 1:02:51started with the lifelong well-being foundation dinner, which really talks about the eight
- 1:02:59dimensions of well-being, that it's not just about the physical, it's not just about nutrition
- 1:03:04or environment, which all gets talked about here, but it is social health and it is educational
- 1:03:11and financial and in all of these things that we're talking about all of these dimensions
- 1:03:16which all feed in and the truth of the matter is a person who is happier becomes healthier
- 1:03:21and a person who's healthier becomes happier and the more we can solve and increase any of
- 1:03:28these areas, there's a ripple effect that goes to the next area and these concentric circles
- 1:03:33continue to expand that, you know, if I am living happy because I feel good about myself
- 1:03:40and maybe it is a mental clarity that comes with better nutrition, I'm making better financial
- 1:03:46decisions at that point and maybe I do feel better about myself so I don't avoid social situations.
- 1:03:53You know, I mean, think of how many people you know and I'm sure you guys come across this all
- 1:03:56the time dealing with weight loss, like people who just avoid going to the beach or avoid going to
- 1:04:01the water park and it's like your friends are going, no, I'm busy, well, it has nothing to do with
- 1:04:06the fact that you don't want to hang out socially, it's the fact that you don't want to take your
- 1:04:08shirt off at the water park and, you know, say you just avoid social situations because you feel,
- 1:04:14you know, unworthy or you just don't feel like you look good enough, like all of these problems
- 1:04:20are interconnected, like all of this stuff and it's the negative thinking, it's the spiritual hygiene
- 1:04:26that needs to take place with people who are out of balance in that area and it really boils down
- 1:04:31to how do we keep all of these things balanced and again, I would say a person who feels good about
- 1:04:38themselves approaches life differently and quits speaking these I am statements that are negative
- 1:04:43over themselves, quits expecting defeat, you know, quits looking at themselves with the dysmorphia
- 1:04:50that doesn't make sense but they don't have the mental acuity to even be able to process that if
- 1:04:57you will, like it's so interconnected and, you know, we started by me saying like there's people
- 1:05:02up here, there's people down here and you guys are somewhere in the middle and the reality is I'm
- 1:05:05saying that because you guys are balanced, that there is a happiness, there is a healthiness,
- 1:05:10there is a balance in all of these areas of well-being, that it's not because, you know, I meet
- 1:05:16you guys and I'm just like, oh my gosh, these people have the best HRV scores of anyone I know,
- 1:05:20right? Like it's not because your livers are perfect. But it's literally, there's a balance
- 1:05:28and there's a harmony in all of these areas and I think it's evident in the way you show up in the
- 1:05:33world and I appreciate that and I expect that out of both of you and I think that is the goal
- 1:05:38for everybody who attends a biohacking conference, anybody who who shows up here, it's not to be
- 1:05:44at, you know, level 10 in your spiritual life and the level one, you know, we laugh about the
- 1:05:50Baptist potlucks, right? Like, well, congratulations, you all made it to the prayer meeting and a fried
- 1:05:54chicken for three hours. Exactly. You're going to be back on the prayer list next year.
- 1:05:59Exactly. Now you are the prayer work. Exactly. You know, or the people that are so busy biohacking that,
- 1:06:05you know, you've managed to optimize your health and your wife left you. Like, congratulations,
- 1:06:11you know, you spent all this time and you completely locked out the relationships in your life.
- 1:06:15Like, there's a balance that needs to happen in here and I kind of love that this entire week
- 1:06:20is ending on that note because like, I've just had conversations for days here on so many different
- 1:06:27topics and it's like, it kind of feels like a nice bow got put on all of that. So thank you,
- 1:06:31both, like, thank you for the whole bunches here. I was a great, but just, I love that, just
- 1:06:36harmony. It's about balance. It's about bringing harmony to all of these systems, including,
- 1:06:41bringing harmony to your health so that your body knows how to function on it and doing that kind
- 1:06:46of stuff. And I love that. Like, thank you guys. Like, I just appreciate the way you show up in the
- 1:06:50world. This is Rob Vasquez and Randy Johns with the Happy Healthy Guys. We're going to put

- 1:07:39like the lotions and the oils that we use. Like, if you wouldn't drink it, quit putting it on your
- 1:07:44skin. And that was a lesson that took me a minute and I was like, man, I did something else. I don't
- 1:07:50know, right? Which is that unlearning process, but also that you're never going to figure it all
