- 1:28SPEAKER_00: You're running around all day.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: But so are you guys kind of like me when I go someplace?
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: I have to do everything.

- 1:48SPEAKER_01: It was really nice.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: It was fun.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: It was really hot that day, though.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's always Florida, man.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: Florida.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Florida is so hot, but it was it was really fun.

- 2:08SPEAKER_00: It has come to my attention.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it has come to my attention for all of you bad boys and girls, all of you bad people out there leaving negative comments.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: It has come to my attention on Instagram, on YouTube that y'all be leaving some nasty, nasty, nasty things.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: You know, I don't think I don't know if we should even time.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Like, they don't deserve the time, but like I get it.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: I just want to say it's so much easier to be nice than to be mean.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: I feel like we have this conversation every time on the episode.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Like, people just naturally there are nasty people out there, but every time that we do something fun, somebody always has to come and you know take their baby shit on it.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: So it's fine.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: This is I I feel like, okay, when we put ourselves out there, and it's not even about us.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: No, it doesn't bother me if it's about me or Lena.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: But it does bother me when somebody picks on something that I'm just like, I want to see you make content in Arabic with no formal Arabic schooling, and then come talk to me and be like, oh my god, you spelled Naiman wrong.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: Okay, you know what?
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Why don't you fucking put the correct spelling and stop complaining?
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: That's one.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Two, our guests on here.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: You can't judge them.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: You can't do it.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: Do not talk correctly.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: If you want to talk corp about me and Hanah, that's fine.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Because we do not do it about my guests.
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: We put ourselves out there and it's totally about our guests.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: Our guests are our friends.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: I can handle the hate that we get, but like, don't mess with our guests.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's so rude.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Uh literally, our guests are our friends.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: Like, do not, and even if it's somebody that we've just met for the purpose of doing this, these people do become friends.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: It's not even that, it's just like common decency and Christian.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, uh, yeah, uh, if you don't like it, just just don't watch.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: Don't watch.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: Let's scroll.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Let's scroll.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: Anyways, but I needed to get that off my chest.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: For all of you bad boys and girls out there.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's some and not bad in a good way.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Bad isn't not nice.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: No tea.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: There's some assholes out there.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, for sure.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Not naughty people out there.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: And again, not in that way either.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: Okay, what else is going on?
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Besides that, let's see what else is going on.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: Did you did you see what Dave Chappelle said about uh DJ Had?
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: I did.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: Like I got I was like finally, finally, somebody said something.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: He's such a dumbass, dude.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: He's so freaking annoying, and like he deserves all the hate that he gets.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Okay, so on my social media, Lena and I have obviously have very different like algorithms, right?
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: So I sent Lena two things that I needed her to watch.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Did you watch them?
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: I did.

- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Look, did you like the song?
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: I didn't even listen to it in full.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna lie.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, you know, I'm gonna kill you right now because you told me watch this because we're gonna talk about it.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: You can even watch the whole thing.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: I saw so many clips.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: It's a three-minute clip.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: Did you ADD?
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: I saw so many clips of it on social media.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: It's fine.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: I will say though, he looks amazing.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: He does look amazing.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: He looks amazing.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: I've always liked his music.

- 5:11SPEAKER_01: Like I never like I just think, eh.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: Like I I listened to the song and I'm like, okay.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: It's okay.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: I will say, honestly, from the clips that are it's not my my my kind of wet I like my wet kafuti vibes, but I will say I'm happy for him.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: I guess.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: I mean the song didn't do much for me.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: I know, I know.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: It's fine.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Maybe I'm just and then the other song, hold on, I have to pull this up.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: The other song, which I really, really, really enjoyed.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: I like anybody that does something different.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: So it's called uh Adamish Amriki, right?
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: Mish American by Kokim.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: You know his name his last name is Khalef.

- 5:52SPEAKER_00: Oh, actually, just Over Palestine.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: I think all over Jordan.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: Uh mostly Libnan, Jordan.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: Not Jordan, Libnan, Felestin.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: Uh maybe some Khalij areas.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: They have a last name as Khalilh because they like that name.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: Maybe.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: But like as a last name, it's mostly Felestini.

- 6:09SPEAKER_00: I think it's awesome.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was, it was.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: I mean, I like his stuff.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: He does a lot of like Falahi stuff, like Falahi trick.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: It's like Falahi rap music.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: I don't know how else to describe it.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Falahi.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: I don't know if it's rap.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Falehi pop music.

- 6:30SPEAKER_01: And like he he's uh he's definitely interesting.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: I don't think anyone else has done that.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: I don't think so either.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: But that's why I like him, by the way.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Because I feel like it's exactly it's different.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Like he's definitely taking a um, he's definitely taking like an interesting uh step in music, but I do like the br the blend of like his Arabic and the blend of the English music.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: And I love that there is a um just like some like the hidden messages and stuff in there.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: I thought it was cute.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, no, it was very very good.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: And I I like I said, going back to the Falahi stuff, like the old traditional stuff that he he sings.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: I've heard those songs before as a kid.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: That's like he's I mean he's keeping it real.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: Which I think authentic.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: I'm telling you, I love when when I I I I thought it was just the cutest thing.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: I don't know what it is.

- 7:45SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Whatever.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: I like him.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but it's funny how your algorithm is completely you're completely different than mine.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: It's that, it's nail content.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: No, definitely nail content.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: Speaking of nails that I did my nails.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, Lena actually has her nail.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: This does not happen, you guys.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm not usually like Lena has her nails picked up.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: I'm a pedicure kind of girl.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: But not once in a blue moon.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: That's not true.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: Don't listen to her.

- 8:17SPEAKER_01: I'm not hating on you.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: Like you're putting me on the spot.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: Like I know like a dabba or something.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: Like I'm a freaking liar.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: Like you always do this to me.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: I say you're a liar.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: I just when you sit here, you're like, I'm a pedicure.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: I am.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: I enjoy like I never mind getting a pedicure.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: This I do.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: I don't know why.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: It took half an hour.

- 8:38SPEAKER_01: I'm like, Whereas I took like that.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: I was there yesterday was nail day.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: I was there for like two and a half hours.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and this is like halal nail polish, so it's very hard to put on.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: It's just like really like if you don't do it quickly.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: You get bubbles and whatnot.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I know what you mean.

- 9:14SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: So I heard just like as I like to say, Tarotish.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: Yes.

- 9:30SPEAKER_00: All I know is that it's like a not a guy, like a ladies only thing.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: So basically to get on this app, you have to like send your your uh your name and your ID, like a picture ID to make sure that you're a you're a woman.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: No men are allowed on this app.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: Okay, thank God.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: And and what the and and this is like kind of like this app has really become a thing in this.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: Is it like for like friendship or like what is it?
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: No, no, no.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: This is basically you're spilling the tea.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay, okay and you're sharing red flags.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: I used to be in a page like this on Facebook.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: Seriously?
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, we really are old right now.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: Facebook.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: I used to be on a page like this on Facebook, and mind you, I was married.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: But uh but it was on there then.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: Investigation.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: I was doing investigative purposes.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Discover henan.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Uh no, it would yeah, I was I was actually doing research, but basically it was um research for who, Yachty.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: That's a story for a different time.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: All right, but basically, it was a page of all the women in the DC metro area, right?
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: And they post men that they've dated or gone out with.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: And basically, if they're creepy, this is what this is.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: So it was like that, but it was uh now I have to remember what it was called.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: Okay, so this app is this is what this app does.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: So like I'll tell you what it's called.
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so they'll post like a picture, I think, of a guy.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: And like, hey guys, be careful.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: These are his red flags, these are his green flags.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: A lot of them don't have green flags.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was it was um, it was called Are We Dating the Same Guy?
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, are we dating the same guy?
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: Because people would be like, oh my God, you know, in the DC metro area, I guess look, in a lot of areas across the country, across the world, dating is really hard.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: I guess I fully recognize that Lena and I might not have an opinion on this because we're married women.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: We've been married, too.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and we've been married, right, for a long time.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: But I I pause and I think to myself, like, it's hard.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: And I I felt so bad because a lot of these women would post things on there, and it was no longer about are we dating the same guy?
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: Um and and the reason that I did this was because we had a you know, we we had a friend who was like, Okay, somebody's saying stuff in there about me, and it's not true, and it's based on like one interaction, right?
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: So is the friend a guy?
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: A guy.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: And it like, so it's like like yes, I can see one side, but I also think sometimes it's k it can be a little unfair.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, the I was reading an article yesterday about this, and there there was a lawyer on there, and he he was warning these women, hey, I feel like that's libel.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's lamping.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: Be careful because you could you can be sued if this person starts getting harassed his life.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: So they're saying, you know, just go into it with a lot of caution.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: And that's what happened to my friend.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah is that it started getting around, it got to one of the people that he works with, and then people at work started talking about it.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: And then you're like, what is happening?
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I think I think what's happening in Dearborn, and maybe, you know, like down the road we can talk to someone about this who's from there, but like I think it's causing such uh uh such chaos because a lot of these guys are upset, and these guys are like some of them, not all of them, but some of them are like real, like slimy men.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: Okay, well, if you're slimy, yeah, you deserve it.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and so they're freaking out, and there's no way for them to get in and see what's being said, but then like there it's really affecting like some they like I was reading some article where this this guy was married, he had two wives, and he was still cheating.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: Like he had two and he's still cheating.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: So it's it's it's driving the guys crazy.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the several so I I understand, like I think this is you can use it, but just be very careful because like the you can get sued.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: You can get sued, I get that.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: But at the same time, if you you have nothing to worry about as a guy if you're not doing anything wrong, it's really that simple.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: It wouldn't even cross my mind, like you know, uh if you're a good dude, it doesn't really matter if there's a tea app or if there's a coffee app, nobody cares.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: You're doing fine, you're like living your best life, you're gonna be okay.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: The people that are worried about this are the people that have a reason to worry about this because they're gross and dirty and disgusting.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and they're out there doing things they're not supposed to be doing.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: I agree.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Just just tread carefully.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: That's all I'm gonna say.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: Because like if you're posting, you can't women respond back and be like, Thanks, Lena, for letting us know about the tea app.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: We had no idea.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: No, everyone knows about it.
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: I think yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: If you're on TikTok, yeah, like if you're on Arab TikTok, yeah, everybody knows about it.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: Because it's like going like the people in Dearborn, like Dearborn Arab TikTok, it's that's all they're talking about.
- 13:50SPEAKER_01: I'm on clean talk.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: What is that?
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: Cleaning TikTok.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: I love clean talk.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: I got it.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: I'm cooking TikTok.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, this is where I'm at.
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I know this is the stuff because I got when I post our stuff, it's always like Arab.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, really?
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: I love you guys.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: There's this woman, and I'm gonna have to find the TikTok and send it to you.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: She made me laugh so hard because she does this video and she goes, I don't know what happened to my algorithm and how I ended up on the side of TikTok where people are wearing bathing suits as like like she's like wearing um dental floss as bathing suits.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: She's like, no hate to no like it's very skimpy bathing.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: So she's like, no hate to anybody, like live your life.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: She's like, I just want to know, like, how does everything stay in place?
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: She's like genuinely asking, how does everything stay covered and stay in place?
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: The comments killed me.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: Killed me.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: I'm definitely not on that topic.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: There are, I mean, I wasn't.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: That was the first video that popped up for me.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: Okay, but yeah, but I I that that made me laugh really, really hard.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: That the first thing I do, and it's funny because my sister's the one who was like, oh my god, you have to always like run to the comments.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: Now I run to the comments section.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: Of course, but why how did we go from clean talk to this?
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: It was just like in the middle of all of this.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: And sometimes I watch so much clean talk.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: So there's this one Balkan woman that I follow, and she lives in New York City.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: She doesn't mess around.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: I think I looked at it.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, yeah, she's dude, she's amazing.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: She's a little bit her daughter, right?
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: It's her husband and four kids.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: She's a stay-at-home mom.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: Okay, someone else.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: I'm thinking of someone else.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: Her house is so clean.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it's yeah, and then it makes me realize I'm like Balkan people, they're like us, they're like the Middle Easterns of the Europe.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's true.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: Anything else?
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: No, that's all the excitement I have going on in my life.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's it.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm going to New York next week.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: Oh, that should be fun.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: Yes, Lena with a Wombian episode next week.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: There's no filming because Lena and her daughter are doing a girls' New York.
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: Yes, we're gonna do that.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: It's cute.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: I think it's awesome.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: We're keeping the guys back here.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: Good.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: They need to stay back here.
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's just more fun.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: It's not even about more fun.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: I think it's nice bonding time.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: Yes, absolutely.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: She wants to do certain things that my son is not interested in at all.
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: I'm like, you can go with your dad, or I'll take you another time.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: You guys go do not like not that I think he's gonna go anywhere.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: He doesn't, he's like, I don't want to do I mean you never know.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't know.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: I I don't feel like he wants to go anywhere.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: Who?
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: Him or my my husband?
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: Both of them.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: I feel like both of them.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: Your husband does not like to go anywhere.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: No, but I feel like even he just wants a summer of nothing.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: He just wants to change.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: Well, that's what he told me.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: He's like, I want a summer of, but he's also he has a summer job.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay, so he wants to make money.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: Good and he's like, New York should be only done at Christmas time.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: I don't blame him.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I don't do well with the cold.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: I don't mind.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: I just can't.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: Yes, it's cold, but like I kind of New York is really hot right now.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: I don't care.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: There's AC, and it's not a big deal.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: I'll take the warm weather any day over the cold.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: Yes and no.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, he wants to do like the lights and all that stuff, and I'm just like Okay, but I mean that's different.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: He he has he has different vibes for New York, yeah.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he doesn't want he's like, I want to make money, I want to stay, I don't want to do anything.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: Okay, it's not that he's not doing anything then.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: He just has different goals for his summer.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he has different goals for his summer, absolutely.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: Good for him that he has a job.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, he yeah.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: I'm very much like yeah, he's doing he's doing well.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: He took us out to lunch, too.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: Did I tell you?
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: I didn't know that.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: But we told him we're not gonna pick anything expensive.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: Okay, so what did he take you to lunch?
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: Uh Buffalo Wild.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: I'm like, that's reasonable.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: That's so cute.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because like um Raya was like, can we go to uh test steak house?
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, no, Raya, we're not like four.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: I feel like she doesn't have a job.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: Well, she does, she has an Etsy shop.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: Okay, it's not a job, but yeah, okay.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: How many orders is she getting?
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: She's she got a few.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: Okay, but it's not like him.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: She'd be worth like a couple hundred dollars.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's fine, but he's working like it's like I always say, look, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not saying her work is not hard, but her work is kind of her hobby.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, his job is hard, it is hard, it's a lot of physical, physical stress.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: Yes, he works at like a bakeryslash restaurant, so it's a lot of work.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: Like you carry stuff and you're back and forth and you're on your feet the whole time.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's like he's like for two hours, all I did was recycle the stuff that's it's hard.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: Like I can't imagine the hot weather.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: He's like the AC does nothing.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: It's like when you're going in and out.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: Can you imagine two hours of breaking down boxes?
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: I would cry.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: I have a hard time touching cardboard when I get a delivery.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: I have a problem with cardboard.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: What like what a texture?
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't like to touch it.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: I don't like to touch cardboard.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: Okay, we'll learn something new about henan.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I don't know what it is.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: Like if I have to, I will, obviously.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: But I just don't like the way it feels.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: I don't like I imagine it just cutting it through my skin.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: Don't ask me why.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: So cardboard, I don't like cardboard.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: What else don't you like?
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: I don't like cardboard.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: Uh um, I have a very hard time if I have to step outside of my house barefoot.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: Like like concrete.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Oh, no, why would you do that?
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: No, you know what sometimes you're grabbing a package or something.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: No, there's that's why you have a babujet.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: I do the front door.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: I do always next to the front door.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: But like I have a hard time in general, even though I I actually in my house I'm barefoot all the time.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: I just don't like my feet to touch concrete barefoot.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: I mean, but I think I I that makes sense because I think that's normal.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Like your feet shouldn't touch.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Some people are okay being barefoot.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: No, not some people.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: There's it's just white people who do that shit.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, like that's the truth.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: Whatever, deal with it.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: So there's that.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: I do, I do, however, love, love, love.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: You know what I have this weird thing, and my sister knows this.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: I'm like, it's not summer for me if I don't, if I my feet don't touch sand.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: I don't feel like I've had a good summer.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: I'm I can do without sand.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: I love I here's the thing.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: Like, yes, sand is annoying when it gets into like certain areas of your body or whatever.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: But like, even like just in your hair, in your scalp, but I for me, like, I don't feel like summer has really hit until I've dug my feet into the sand.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: So you have to go to the beach, basically.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: That's what you're telling me.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: Every summer.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: Like so, yeah, I need sand.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: So that, but I do love, love, love to put my feet in grass.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: I don't know what it is.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: I find it very calming.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: When did this become like an episode about your feet?
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: It's only been like two minutes.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: It's been three.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: Okay, whatever.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: Fine.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: I do love, I do love it.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: And then I discovered that it might be something called grounding.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: Is that that's where you like to stand outside and outside barefoot, like in the grass?
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: It's a thing, apparently.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: How long have I known you?
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: This is Awalmara.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: This is the first time I've got a lot of money.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: You don't like fresh cut grass?
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: No, I love the smell of fresh cut grass.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: See, I I like it too, but then I start sneezing.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: No, I love the smell of uh freshly cut grass.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: While they're mowing outside, you're lucky.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: And you hear that wow, this episode is really like it's fun.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: It is fun.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: What else?
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: Tell me, what else is going on?
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: Nothing.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: What else is going on?
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: I talked to you about my feet.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: I mean, I do have a lot of things to say, but I don't think it's appropriate.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: Why say them?
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: This is why this is the only place where it's appropriate.
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: You think so?
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: My boss texted me.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: I sent you the text, remember?
- 20:41SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: Before you went on your trip, and it was so random.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: He's like, Oh, Lena, I found your podcast.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh my god, this is horrible.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: I'm like, what do I say?
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: Because no, he was saying it's really nice, and then he gave me a suggestion.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: So the next time we do one of those words, yeah, we'll uh we'll give him a shout out.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we'll give him a shout out.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: He was like, it's so nice.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: And uh it was I just didn't know what to respond.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: You know, shout-out, Abdurraheim.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: You better be watching every episode now.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: I don't know if he watches the episodes.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: He watches you need to be watching the shorts.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: Now that you know that Lena has a podcast, yeah.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: It's a good one.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna need you to use your I'm gonna need you to use your your clout.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: It's still weird, henan.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: It's still weird.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna need you to use your clout and start butt-ticking around to other people so we can get picked up by major news channel.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: I don't want to get picked up by a major news channel.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: I want them to do a feature on us.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: I want to get picked up by like something like actually that people watch now.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: No one watches really.
- 21:31SPEAKER_01: I wanted somebody to do a feature on us.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: What's wrong with that?
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: I when I say picked up, I don't mean it.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: No, no, we need someone to do a story on us for sure.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: You know why?
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because that's how we'll get verified on Instagram.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: I tried.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: I tried to get verified.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I don't want to pay.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna pay.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: Nah, I refuse to pay.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna pay.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: I refuse to pay meta anything.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: Okay, so I was like, how do you do it?
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: The old and by the way, they trick you.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: Like, if you go to their page, and I'm like, why do I have to pay$14?
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: I'm like, no.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: And then like I search it up, and there's a whole Different way to get to the part where you actually are like you get verified for free.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: So I submitted, and the one thing we were missing is like we weren't covered in the news.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: Like we need someone if you if there's any journalists out there.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: Out there, please cover us.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: Maybe I can get my journalist friends to cover.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: Seriously.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: If there's any journalists out there, there has to be in English, though.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: We speak English.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: I said it has to be like the publication needs to be in English.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: It makes more sense.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: Hello?
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: I guess.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: What are you talking about right now?
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: And it has to be in English.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: What are we speaking?
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: Malay?
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: No, I mean the publication needs to like we don't need some Arab like TV.
- 22:33SPEAKER_01: Why is the Arab TV station gonna do it?
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: Why do they care about us even?
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: Because we're Arab American American.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: They don't give a shit about us.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: I guess.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: I want to get verified.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: What else do we want to talk about?
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: By the way, but by the way, we mashallah, we got like over 10k followers on Instagram.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: TikTok, we got like a few.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: Um, but I'm not liking the TikTok algorithm these days.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: It used to be much better.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: It used to be much easier.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: I think maybe they're they're waiting for that transition to sell to exactly.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: I I think it already happened.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: Well, I think what they're doing is they're gonna have a separate TikTok.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: That's the rumor.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: They're gonna have a separate TikTok for the US, which sucks.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be another meta thing.
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: Honestly, I'm over it.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: I feel like social media is just a a I don't know.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: I feel like we're swimming in a dirty pond.
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: Does that make sense?
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: I mean, uh you can't live with I mean, that's just part of culture now.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: You gotta deal with it.
- 23:27SPEAKER_00: But like we had that one thing that wasn't being controlled.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: But it and it's not even for our content.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: I just look at it just like uh in so many different for so many different things.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: It was the one thing that like there wasn't anything, any way that you could throttle people, that you could stop a certain type of message.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: Um, and I feel like even that's gone now.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: God, why were you gonna depress me?
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: I like for a split second, we've forgotten about that.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: We're good.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: And then we have we're getting we're we're doing better on uh on YouTube.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: On YouTube as well.
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: Honestly, I'm gonna tell you guys something.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: I don't even care how this is doing, I just have a good time doing it.
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: So, and it's nice when we get positive interactions from people.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: And you know what made me really excited?
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: There is somebody that reached out to us on Instagram, and she it was on one of the videos about like, you know the Arabic.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: The Arabic words.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the Arabic words.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: I loved it so much because she said, Hey, my dad is Egyptian and he used to sing me this song.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: And Lena responded back to her, and she's like, Oh, Hanan can help you with this.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: She was looking for the lyrics for Eklik Minin nya butth, eklick minin.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: And I just thought it was the cutest thing.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: That's the that's the reason that I love doing this stuff.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: You get messages like this, the fact that we can, you know, unlock a core memory for somebody or you know, be part of their like nostalgic feelings or thoughts, like that's it.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm happy, I'm golden, life is good.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, I'm not really looking for much more than that.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: I want money.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's fine.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: We all want money.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, to make some.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean it's fine.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: It's fine.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: No, no, I'm joking.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: I I I'm totally with you on that.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: I mean, it would be look, would it be nice for this to be the only thing we do?
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: At the same time, though, like I I genuinely, genuinely, genuinely, when we first started doing this, I think both Lena and I, well, let me not speak for Lena, me, myself at least, I'd be like, oh my gosh, I have to make sure my hair looks good, my makeup looks good.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: This I mean, I do to some extent.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: But now I feel like okay, we sit down and we talk like I'm hanging out with my friends.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's it.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: So like it doesn't really matter what I look like, it's gonna be fine, you know?
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because I was telling you, um, because you lost a lot of weight.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: Okay, I did.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: So I was telling Hanan, I was like, before we were filming, I was like, I was trying to look up like some of the old we have.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: It's really not a lot, it's like 25 pounds.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: Dude, that's a lot.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: That's a lot.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: So I was telling her, I was like, I was going through the stuff we have.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: I was like, you know, thinking of I had to.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: I was really, I was really just unhealthy, you guys.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: My pants didn't fit anymore.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so so I was looking through the stuff to kind of like maybe cut some material for social media, and I'm like, I found a couple of mic, but I did it.
- 25:49SPEAKER_01: I was telling Henan I didn't want to do her dirty.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: I'm like, you cares?
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: This was in your like um chubber era.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, my chubier era.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, like, I'm not gonna.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: I like to refer to it as my pretty girl era, but whatever.
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: So you're okay with me posting it.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: I don't care.
- 26:03SPEAKER_01: So now, like, the weight Hanan has lost has been transferred on to me.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: It really hasn't.
- 26:08SPEAKER_01: That's how it feels.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: It really, really hasn't.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: No, I I think it's fine.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: Honestly, yes.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: That's what I've been doing since January is working on my weight loss.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna sit here and be like, I work out three times a week.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: No, guys.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: I'm like the rest of America.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: I'm taking the semaglutide shots.
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, hey, if you're cool with it.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: I don't know why people hide that stuff.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's nothing to hide.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: There's really, it's it's like it, and honestly, it's fine.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: I've literally been doing it since January.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: For anybody out there that's thinking about it, please make sure you're doing it through a doctor, because that's what I'm doing.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: Um, and make sure you do blood work.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: Um, but it's great.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm very thankful, alhamdulillah.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: I haven't had any side effects.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: That's good, alhamdulillah.
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: And to be honest, when people ask me, I'm very honest about it because I don't think like you look, I'm about to be 45 next month.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: It gets so hard to even shave off a single pound.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: To shave off a single pound.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: So, like, if you're out there and you're it's something that you're struggling with or battling with, do not let these people out there make you think like you are not doing your part because you're not like hitting the gym six days a week.
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: And look, is it important to still do that?
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: It's still really important to work out, it's still really important to make sure that you are incorporating healthy food.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: There are things for me that I have changed.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: Like, I was just talking with my sister earlier this week, and I was like, you know what?
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: I need to increase my protein intake.
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: So now I'm doing a premier protein shake every single morning.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: That's fine.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: And I'm mixing it with a shot of espresso.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: It's it's she told me she was like, it's cafe latte flavored, so you can do it for breakfast.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: So it's halas, you get to a point where you're like, I need to eat better, I need to take care of myself, I need to do all of these things to be healthier.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: So, like, why not?
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: And if any any of your friends out there who have lost a significant amount of weight in the last year and told and they're telling you it's diet and exercise, they're lying.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: Okay, so in the next couple of weeks, we have some really awesome things coming up for you guys, right?
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: Um, wait until I come back.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, after after Lena gets back.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: I need a couple weeks off.
- 27:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, after Lena gets back, yeah, for sure.
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: Um, we have the uh the Where's My Happy Bee episode.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: I feel like a lot of people um really um like they resonated with them.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they like they're just like really vibed with what Susan had to say.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: And I have another friend that's interested in doing it, the same topic, but about like over 40, being over 40 and doing the same thing.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: So I'm super excited for that.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: I think that's gonna be really good.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: We have a couple things.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Couple folks who we're gonna bring onto the podcast, some really cool people.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: Um, and just like more of like Lena and I and our like dumbass shenanigans.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and this episode is just catching up.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: It's literally dumbass shenanigans.
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: It's about nothing.
- 28:33SPEAKER_00: It's yeah, and then that's what people tell me.
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: Like, people are like, what about what's the podcast about?
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you know, it's like nothing.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, nothing and everything.
- 28:39SPEAKER_01: No, no, we're joking.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: Obviously, sometimes we have these where we catch up, yes, of course.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: You know, um, because like I honestly didn't want to set something up, like an interview, because I just didn't have the time.
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: I've been so busy at work at my full-time job and like being at home with the kids.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: So busy being unemployed.
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, she's been very busy.
- 28:55SPEAKER_01: She was she was you were on vacation though.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: I was on vacation.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: Look, I was on vacation for a week.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: And honestly, like come this this week, it'll only be like a month that I haven't been working.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: And I know that a month sounds like a really long time, but it's really not long at all.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: It weirdly No, it's not goes by like this.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, weirdly, like I I I feel like we don't talk enough about, you know, kind of that like in-between space where you're doing stuff, where you're not, you know, all these other things present themselves.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I'm saying, like, for me, like we have all these like things kind of like a lot of people reached out to us.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: They want to like, you know, collaborate, they want to like be on the podcast.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: Before we end, I do want to say something.
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: Tell me.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: A part, one of the reasons, one of the many reasons that I love doing this, right?
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: Is hearing like other Arab American stories, like uh and just giving people a platform.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: So I want to put it out there, right?
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: If you're an Arab American and you're doing something cool and awesome, please reach out to us.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, let us know.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: Let us know.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: I'm we're super happy to like have you on because you know, I always say, let's do it for our people, let's do it for our culture.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: And I want to make a space.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: I want the community not just to be, oh, two friends hanging out.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: No, I want you all to be our friends and I want us all to support each other.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: So if you're out there and you're doing something and you want like a little bit of airtime or a little bit of space, like reach out to us.
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: But like, I mean, we had um Chedi from the Arab Car Game, he reached out to us.
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that was amazing.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: That was amazing.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: We had um Adam, yeah, and then Sargeni.
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, like, dude, we'll talk to us about crazy people and boyfriends.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: Not really.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: That's me.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: No, he was talking about his book.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: He's talking about his book, which I love.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: And I yeah, I was just telling Lena today.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: I was like, you know why I love the episode with Adam?
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: Because he mentioned something very important, which is like he he spent a whole chuckam time talking about, you know, Arabic, like Arabic speaking authors or Arab American, I shouldn't say Arabic speaking, Arab American authors, and the fact that he doesn't get a lot of submissions from that.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: And so I love that because that's such a that's an something I wasn't even thinking about.
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: You know, yeah, yeah.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: So yeah, we chat to watch, dude.
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: We're cool.
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: We're not like, you know, we're very cool.
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: And like I said, the whole focus is I would love to shed light too on just like other Arab American experiences, other Arab American stories, not just me and Lena.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, we're fun, we're cool, right?
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: Are we?
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: By the way, this is why we're we are so cool.
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: Wait, wait, wait.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: Someone called us.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: She's like, Oh my god, I love you guys.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: You guys are like the aunties.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: I never had my conquejalas.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: I'm officially in auntie territory now.
- 31:10SPEAKER_01: What?
- 31:11SPEAKER_01: Yes, yeah, it's an adam, she's so sweet though.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: You know, can I tell you guys something?
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna show you this.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: It's on YouTube.
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this is this is becoming a theme.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: So one of my friends said that she she so she wasn't she she, you know, she's she's it was Shin Coptic, she was at church, and she said once she saw a mutual, like another friend, and they were talking to each other and they were talking about the woman who does their hair.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: Okay, right?
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: So they go both go to the same woman who does their hair.
- 31:37SPEAKER_00: Okay, and so that woman is is a young woman, she's like in her mid-20s.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: Okay, and so she goes, Oh, you and you are my two favorite tunts that come to see me.
- 31:49SPEAKER_00: Tunts just means aunts or aunties that come to see me.
- 31:52SPEAKER_00: And my friend shout out Enda.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: Enda was like, I am not a tunt.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, like, she was really sweet in her comment.
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: I liked it.
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: What am I gonna say?
- 32:01SPEAKER_01: I'm like, hold us.
- 32:02SPEAKER_01: Are we there?
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: We are there.
- 32:03SPEAKER_00: We are there, we are still there.
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: You know, it's funny, it's really sweet.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: It's like whenever somebody says, like, oh, hi tante, or hialto, or hi auntie, and I'm like, I guess that's me.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: It is me, isn't it?
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's tough.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: Random thing.
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: I got to um, I uh I still feel 28 though.
- 32:20SPEAKER_00: Me too, but that means we're old.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: I know because 28-year-olds don't want to be a little bit more.
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: I don't feel old.
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: I don't feel they feel 45.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: That's not true.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: In this day and age, 28-year-olds definitely feel 45.
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 32:31SPEAKER_00: They don't have the you know what they look back at our times, our times, okay, and they're like, um, our times.
- 32:38SPEAKER_00: Because you know, we're vintage now.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: The 90s are vintage, okay?
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: And they're like, at least you guys were able to buy a house.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: Just like we would look at our parents.
- 32:45SPEAKER_00: We're like, you guys bought a house for a dollar.
- 32:48unknown: Yeah.
- 32:48SPEAKER_00: You know, stuff like that.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: Like, it's hard.
- 32:51SPEAKER_00: No, I get it.
- 32:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:51SPEAKER_00: I look as like I look at young people now, I'm like, how the hell are you gonna buy they can't buy a house?
- 32:56SPEAKER_01: I know it's it's it's tough.
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: The whole system is messed up.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: I love how this episode, you know what this episode is like?
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: This episode is like a Virginia Wolf novel.
- 33:05SPEAKER_00: It's like streams from our consciousness.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: Verbal diarrhea.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: It really is.
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: It's streams from our um I had something else to say.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: I like streams from our consciousness better.
- 33:12SPEAKER_01: Verbal diarrhea.
- 33:13SPEAKER_01: No, okay, I guess.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: Virginia Wolf was very successful until she committed suicide.
- 33:17SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 33:17SPEAKER_01: I I might have read one of her books.
- 33:19SPEAKER_01: Didn't she commit suicide?
- 33:20SPEAKER_01: Am I crazy?
- 33:21SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: A lot of those people committed suicide, but anyway.
- 33:25SPEAKER_01: It's not funny.
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: I'm not trying to be funny.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, we gotta cut that part out.
- 33:30SPEAKER_01: It's not that serious.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: No, it is.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she did die by suicide.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: She was only 59.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: Was she married?
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: She probably did that because she was joking, also joking.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 33:50SPEAKER_00: Wow, wow, wow.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna read about Virginia Wolf right now.
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: This is really, this is when we started this podcast, it was people hanging out with us.
- 34:01SPEAKER_00: And this is how this is pretty much this is pretty much us, you hanging out with us.
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: No, I mean, I honestly I think I feel like it was fun.
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: No, it was cool.
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: I hope so.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: I don't know, whatever.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: Now we just gotta um uh come up with a thumbnail and a and a title because that's like my biggest issue with these things.
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: I'm just like, oh, what am I gonna call this?
- 34:17SPEAKER_01: Um, but no, we have good stuff coming up.
- 34:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's gonna be exciting, but be patient with us because I do need some time off.
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: You know, on that note, I do need some time off.
- 34:27SPEAKER_00: I tell her all the time I'm happy to help, but she's a control freak.
- 34:30SPEAKER_01: No, I I give you the tasks that you're supposed to do.
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: She gave me tasks.
- 34:35SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 34:35SPEAKER_01: Your tasks are to get the merch stuff going.
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: Which is fine, it's already underway.
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: And you do the the what do you call it?
- 34:43SPEAKER_01: The Instagram, like setting up the dates and stuff.
- 34:45SPEAKER_01: Because like that's the schedule.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: I was thinking that's the schedule.
- 34:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, in terms of technical stuff, I already finished those two things.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they should finish.
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: What did you finish?
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: What did you book for us?
- 34:55SPEAKER_01: I booked one thing already for us.
- 34:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, that which one?
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, that one.
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: Okay, let's not talk about it.
- 35:00SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay, okay.
- 35:00SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: So that's that's more than enough.
- 35:03SPEAKER_01: When it comes to technical stuff, no, I'm good.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: I got that.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: Do you really want to sit there editing?
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: I don't mind.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: I'm great.
- 35:12SPEAKER_01: You can't even you don't even have the time sometimes.
- 35:16SPEAKER_01: Let's just not kid ourselves.
- 35:18SPEAKER_01: Okay, come on, Helen.
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: Be real.
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: It's not because of the lack of my technical capabilities.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: I'm very technically advanced.
- 35:24SPEAKER_01: Okay, but it would take a week and a half to get stuff done.
- 35:26SPEAKER_01: That would take me like 24 hours.
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: I just, you know what it is?
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: It's because I just go out at night and Lena doesn't.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't go out at night.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so did she have time?
- 35:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't.
- 35:34SPEAKER_01: Like, I just it's not that I have time, Hennan.
- 35:37SPEAKER_01: I am busy.
- 35:38SPEAKER_01: I'm just saying.
- 35:39SPEAKER_01: I am busy, I can help, and you choose for me not to help you.
- 35:42SPEAKER_01: No, you worry about those tasks that are already finished.
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: And you doing my makeup.
- 35:47SPEAKER_00: That's already finished.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: Okay, and and the in terms of like the editing, I got that.
- 35:52SPEAKER_01: Fine.
- 35:52SPEAKER_01: Brahtik.
- 35:53SPEAKER_01: I got that.
- 35:53SPEAKER_01: Because we tried outsourcing the editing once every time.
- 35:55SPEAKER_01: No, it didn't work out.
- 35:56SPEAKER_01: It's just it was too much of a hassle.
- 35:58SPEAKER_00: It's very hard when you don't know people and the people don't know you.
- 36:02SPEAKER_01: It's just take no no, it's not even that.
- 36:04SPEAKER_01: Like our stuff is simple, straightforward.
- 36:06SPEAKER_01: It doesn't take a lot of like cut, whatever, do a little dissolve here and there, and that's it.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: It's not a big deal.
- 36:12SPEAKER_01: But it just takes time to upload anyway, whatever.
- 36:14SPEAKER_01: Boring shit.
- 36:15SPEAKER_01: I had one more thing.
- 36:16SPEAKER_01: Yes, you fed me.
- 36:17SPEAKER_01: Tell me about that interaction.
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 36:21SPEAKER_00: Switch comes over today, and I was the kids were the kids were hungry, and so I warmed up a little bit of last night's leftovers.
- 36:27SPEAKER_00: And by the way, leftovers, by the way, last night I made braised beef short ribs.
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: They were delicious and nutritious and amazing and homemade.
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: And so I was like, okay, hey guys, um, do you want to eat the rest of this?
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: Yes, great.
- 36:40SPEAKER_00: So I told Lena, I'm like, oh, you gotta try it.
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: She's like, oh my god, no, I don't eat that.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: I'm like, just try it.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: And what happened when you try it?
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: It was really good.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 36:49SPEAKER_00: I must say, it was really good.
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was really not that bad.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: I was sometimes I told her, I'm like, I get it.
- 36:54SPEAKER_00: I get the fear of like not being able to eat meat outside.
- 36:57SPEAKER_00: I get it.
- 36:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I don't eat meat at home.
- 36:59SPEAKER_01: I make it for I make it for my husband and my kids, but I don't.
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: I'm just not, I'm not into it.
- 37:03SPEAKER_01: Like I'm a I'm a chicken and it has to be chicken breast too.
- 37:07SPEAKER_01: Like, don't tell me like chicken thigh or chicken leg.
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: No.
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: That's like the driest part of the chicken cow.
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: I'm okay with that.
- 37:12SPEAKER_00: I can't not.
- 37:13SPEAKER_01: And like once in a blue moon, once in a blue moon, I might have a burger.
- 37:17SPEAKER_00: Which is like the worst part of the cow, but sure.
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: If it's grass fed.
- 37:22SPEAKER_00: If it's ground beef.
- 37:23SPEAKER_00: Okay, ground beef, but it's grass fed and it's like, you know, good stuff.
- 37:26SPEAKER_00: Are you grounding the beef?
- 37:27SPEAKER_00: Grinding, like, are you picking the select the cut of meat and grinding the beef yourself?
- 37:32SPEAKER_00: No, it's it comes in like the organic shit that you buy.
- 37:36SPEAKER_00: I don't like ground.
- 37:37SPEAKER_00: That's like the you don't have you don't eat burgers now.
- 37:40SPEAKER_00: No, I do, but I'm saying ground beef is something I'm very particular about.
- 37:45SPEAKER_00: Because I feel like they can just stick anything in there and grind it together.
- 37:49SPEAKER_00: It is so true.
- 37:49SPEAKER_00: It depends where you go, though.
- 37:50SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: It depends where you get your meat.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 37:53SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 37:53SPEAKER_00: But if you go to the butcher, you pick your meat and they grind it together.
- 37:57SPEAKER_01: And you can also mix it.
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: Because I remember my mom used to always mix lamb with it as well.
- 38:01SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 38:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, just a little lamb.
- 38:02SPEAKER_00: That's my favorite for delicious kofta.
- 38:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, whatever.
- 38:05SPEAKER_01: I mean, I make maybe a steak and cheese.
- 38:07SPEAKER_01: Make maybe a steak and cheese.
- 38:08SPEAKER_01: You know, I that's not my favorite.
- 38:10SPEAKER_01: Maybe.
- 38:11SPEAKER_01: But it depends where you get it to again.
- 38:13SPEAKER_00: I I no in general, it's not my favorite.
- 38:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I like steak and cheese.
- 38:16SPEAKER_01: But that's like every once in a blue moon.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: I like only cheese.
- 38:19SPEAKER_01: I'm not into like red meat.
- 38:20SPEAKER_00: I would rather have a cheese sandwich, honestly, above everything.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I can have a like Lebanon Zatar sandwich with bandura and khyar.
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's me.
- 38:29SPEAKER_00: I like olives.
- 38:30SPEAKER_00: I I I suffer from something called milia, which is like those white heads that are under the first layer of your skin because of how much cheese I eat.
- 38:36SPEAKER_01: Is that what how it happens?
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: Dairy is like a huge contributor to milia.
- 38:40SPEAKER_00: But please, if you're a dermatologist, correct me, but that's what my aesthetician says.
- 38:44SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 38:44SPEAKER_01: I won't have that problem.
- 38:45SPEAKER_01: I just had a bunch extracted yesterday.
- 38:47SPEAKER_01: I started eating yogurt like seven or eight years ago.
- 38:49SPEAKER_00: I love yogurt.
- 38:51SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 38:53SPEAKER_01: See you later.
- 38:53SPEAKER_01: Stop.
- 38:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:54SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 38:54SPEAKER_01: Next time, just look, be patient with us.
