- 0:35What's going on? The place where we think

- 0:39fam. You guys are awesome.
- 0:41And yeah, I just want to let you guys know that I have a free PDF
- 0:45Autism Life Hacks book that you can download from
- 0:47autismhacks.net right now. OK?
- 0:50So basically I get a lot of questions a lot of the time.
- 0:54So parents and people who are concerned with sensory
- 0:56processing disorder always ask me questions on ear defending
- 0:59and ear defenders etcetera. For people on the autism
- 1:02spectrum. Now you maybe went down, why has
- 1:04ear defenders got anything to do with autism?
- 1:06Well, because you asked so nicely.
- 1:09The reason is that sensory processing disorder comes hand
- 1:12in hand with autism Like I did a video on like different types of
- 1:15traits and stuff of autism. And sensory processing disorder
- 1:18is part of the autism diagnosis due to the fact of the
- 1:20sensitivity to like sound, smell, all this kind of stuff.
- 1:23So being no exception to sensory processing disorder is sound.
- 1:27So sounds can rock people you know the wrong way.
- 1:31You know you could listen to a sound and it might make you feel
- 1:33sick. Sound may be too overpowering,
- 1:35maybe too low. He may be over sensitive under
- 1:37sensitive to sound. But a lot of the time a lot of
- 1:40autistic people are always sensitive to sound.
- 1:42But that being said, sometimes you just want to block out that
- 1:44noise that you can just chill and focus because it's very
- 1:47triggering cause meltdowns. And anybody watching this right
- 1:50now, parents especially who understand what I mean.
- 1:52Yeah, you don't want to have meltdowns because of sound.
- 1:54So how do we combat this? Now, there are a few ways that
- 1:59we can do this. One way is that we can just put
- 2:01our fingers in our ears. I've got hands over our ears
- 2:04like this and that sometimes can work, but practically that's not
- 2:11going to work. So I have with me, I have some
- 2:15ear defenders. So I have two ear defenders.
- 2:18I'm going to talk about 3 ear defenders here, but I have two
- 2:20of them here and the other one I'll just talk about.
- 2:22So basically what we're going to show you here now is, is some E
- 2:26defenders. So I'm going to start off with
- 2:28the first ones here. And I'm also going to take some
- 2:31cutaways with my iPhone that you guys can see.
- 2:33So the first ones here are these Apple Airpods.
- 2:37Now, these things are super, super awesome.
- 2:39They're very small. They fit in this little compact
- 2:41case, and they're very small. They're just these little tiny
- 2:43Airpods. Now, the interesting thing about
- 2:45the Airpods is that they're just so compact.
- 2:47They're absolutely brilliant. You can just, like literally pop
- 2:50them in this like tiny little matchbox case and they charge.
- 2:53This is a charging case as well. So you pop them in this little
- 2:55tiny case and then you can take them around the world.
- 2:58It just slips in your back pocket.
- 3:00Hey presto, look at that tiny, tiny, awesome, lovely little
- 3:03case. And it charges them as well,
- 3:05which I really do love. Now, these little bad boys are
- 3:08so unique because there's a tiny button here at the side that you
- 3:11can click in, right? And this button actually helps
- 3:15you stop outside noise. So this is actually noise
- 3:19cancelling. Now when you put these in, if
- 3:22you click this button, you can actually activate the noise
- 3:24cancellation feature, which basically sucks out all the
- 3:27noise from around you and completely makes it silent.
- 3:30So it's kind of like EMF. So you can put them in and have
- 3:32them as normal headphones or wireless headphones, whatever.
- 3:34That's great. But then you can just flick a
- 3:36button and it sucks all the air out and then all the noise out
- 3:40of the air and then what you're left with is just like a
- 3:42complete silence. This is amazing.
- 3:44Now, I've used these on a plane to Los Angeles for 10 hours,
- 3:48right? And they were just incredible
- 3:52because of these that, you know, the quality of these versus the
- 3:55size of them and the compact, you know, the ease ability of
- 3:58using this thing. Very, very good.
- 4:00Highly recommended. But they're a bit expensive.
- 4:02They're about 260 lbs or $260 roughly, and they're just a
- 4:07little bit expensive. But then again, you get what you
- 4:09pay for at the end of the day. So if you want something to last
- 4:11you a long time then well these ones definitely want to to go
- 4:14for now. Moving on is keeping in.
- 4:21Yeah, well keeping in theme with the the noise cancelling
- 4:25headphones. I actually have these as well.
- 4:27So these are Bose headphones. Now the Bose headphones.
- 4:30Kevin, this is snazzy case which I'm going to show you right now
- 4:33and this case actually provides. It's like I think it's like a
- 4:37leather round case. I think it's real leather.
- 4:39I'm not entirely sure, I'm not excessively happy since I'm
- 4:41vegan, but whatever. But these are made by Bose now.
- 4:44Bose. Those are really good electronic
- 4:45to make and they come with all the wiring and stuff you need
- 4:48and this. Cool thing for an airplane if
- 4:50you want to plug them into the thing in the airplane.
- 4:52Which is cool, but this is them. They're foldable, they're
- 4:55collapsible, and they're just so good, right?
- 4:58These are both headphones, right?
- 5:00So this is what they look like. And that little switch on the
- 5:02side there stops the IT will attend them on and actually
- 5:07activates the noise cancelling feature.
- 5:08So you can use these as passive headphones.
- 5:10You can put in like a lead there and listen like a cable, and you
- 5:13can listen to just typically use them as just normal headphones.
- 5:18But if you want to use the noise cancelling feature, you just
- 5:22flip that switch. Boom, they've got noise
- 5:23cancelling. It comes on automatically.
- 5:25And these are very impressive. Now they're so impressive,
- 5:28actually, that it's ridiculous how good these are.
- 5:31I used these on a plane back in 2019, again when I went to Los
- 5:34Angeles. Sorry, back in 2018 when I was
- 5:37going to Los Angeles, it was a 10 or 11 hour flight and these
- 5:40things just absolutely nailed it.
- 5:42They're so comfy that they really, really are squishy on
- 5:46the side. So they're very, very comfy for
- 5:47your head, almost knock myself outland and in comparison to
- 5:51these okay. So size wise this one wins, but
- 5:56user functionality this one wins.
- 5:59These are better at cancelling noise than these ones.
- 6:03So if you look at something that's going to really
- 6:04completely kind of, you know, noise cancelling feature, which
- 6:07is super dope, these ones are your boys, these ones are good,
- 6:10but they're not as good as these ones.
- 6:11So my recommendation for the two, these two here, I would say
- 6:15that it depends what you're kind of going for.
- 6:17These are cool if you like day-to-day want to get rid of
- 6:19sound noise cancelling. And these are cool if you want
- 6:22to go on a plane and go long distances and all kinds of stuff
- 6:26and like really loud places. Now, the price difference.
- 6:29These ones are about £350, like $300.00 roughly I guess, and
- 6:33then these ones are about 100 dollars, £100 cheaper.
- 6:36They're still very expensive, but again, they're very quality.
- 6:39They are quality. Now the third pair headphones
- 6:42that I wanted to talk about with typically ear defenders for
- 6:45children. Now you can buy child ear
- 6:47defenders on Amazon, which I will leave a link for everything
- 6:50I'm talking about in the description down below.
- 6:52And I'll put a picture on the screen here of what the actual
- 6:54headphones that I'm talking about are.
- 6:56And these are child earmuffs that look similar to the Bose,
- 7:00but they're actually just, they're just, they're not
- 7:01headphones. They're just leave just
- 7:02earmuffs. You put them on and then they
- 7:04block out all the sound, kind of like what you'd see in a
- 7:06construction site. But the good thing is they make
- 7:09these four children in children's colours and
- 7:11children's sizes, and they're highly effective.
- 7:13Now if you've got a child who doesn't really want to wear
- 7:14headphones, but they want to block out noise and they don't
- 7:16want to have all this fancy tech and you don't want to spend, you
- 7:18know, $200.00 on stuff like that, you can spend like 10
- 7:21bucks or 10 lbs on these, like ear defending.
- 7:26I don't know, just passive kind of ear defenders.
- 7:28But they actually work very well because obviously, you know,
- 7:30industry standard. So there are some choices for
- 7:33you now. If you think you have any of
- 7:34this to add to this list, please pop it in a comment down below
- 7:36and read everyone. If you think this added value to
- 7:38somebody, please share it on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
- 7:41And if you like this video, give it thumbs up.
- 7:42I'll see you next time guys. Peace.
