- 0:02Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Tiger Territory host and the athletic beat reporter on the Tigers,
- 0:07Speaker 2: Cody staven Hagen joining us right now.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Cody, do the Tigers have a pulse?
- 0:13Speaker 3: I think they have a pulse, but it's getting lighter
- 0:16Speaker 3: by the day, right. I mean, this has gotten bad.
- 0:19Speaker 3: I've never seen anything like it. I don't really know
- 0:21Speaker 3: how to describe it. I don't have a lot else
- 0:23Speaker 3: to say. It has been a very bad stretch of baseball.
- 0:27Speaker 3: They're not getting any breaks, their rosters turned into a mess.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Now they're fighting for their lives.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Before we get into like the team and the issues
- 0:35Speaker 4: and the problems and the questions, is this the worst
- 0:39Speaker 4: off day that you can remember for this team in
- 0:42Speaker 4: a sense that they have to wake up today and
- 0:45Speaker 4: not play a game, staring at the fact that they've
- 0:48Speaker 4: been one to nine in their last ten or is
- 0:52Speaker 4: this the best off day possible? Regroup, everybody's ready to go,
- 0:57Speaker 4: and it's a fresh day tomorrow with your ace on
- 1:00Speaker 4: the hill.
- 1:02Speaker 3: That's kind of a good question. Eric I asked Spencer
- 1:04Speaker 3: turkles In that after the game yesterday, like you have
- 1:07Speaker 3: an off day, are you gonna think about baseball? Are
- 1:09Speaker 3: you gonna totally unplug. Somewhere in between, he said, I'm
- 1:12Speaker 3: totally unplugging. He said, we're all just disconnecting, not thinking
- 1:15Speaker 3: about baseball. I kind of hope that's what these guys do.
- 1:18Speaker 3: I think they're spending their off day in Cleveland, So,
- 1:21Speaker 3: you know, Zach Meisel, my colleague, wrote, wrote some funny lines.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Are they going to go up to the Rock and
- 1:25Speaker 3: Roll Hall of Fame and play a little garage band?
- 1:28Speaker 3: Are they gonna go out to the zoo? They should
- 1:30Speaker 3: do something like that, because the more you press, the
- 1:32Speaker 3: more you worry about baseball, the more you worry and
- 1:35Speaker 3: dive into the numbers and the scouting reports. Doesn't seem
- 1:38Speaker 3: like that stuff has been working for him. So I
- 1:40Speaker 3: hope they're having a nice time and maybe can come
- 1:42Speaker 3: back freshened up tomorrow.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Isn't that what happened at the All Star break? Cody?
- 1:48Speaker 2: And then I think they had a really bad start
- 1:49Speaker 2: to the second half of the season. So are they
- 1:51Speaker 2: sure they want to do a reset where you just
- 1:54Speaker 2: float away and have a nice boat days.
- 1:58Speaker 3: That's a fair question. They had sick at the All
- 2:00Speaker 3: Star Game, because remember they were really good in the
- 2:02Speaker 3: first half, so I don't know. Maybe those were the
- 2:05Speaker 3: guys who needed to float away on the boat somewhere.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Okay, so take me to the trade deadline, because we
- 2:11Speaker 2: were discussing this, were the Tigers smashed enough for doing
- 2:16Speaker 2: a quantity over quality trade deadline? As I saw you
- 2:19Speaker 2: retweet yesterday. I'm forgetting the name, but we can show
- 2:23Speaker 2: the tweet again at some point here. How many pictures
- 2:25Speaker 2: were brought in and how many pitchers are now not
- 2:28Speaker 2: on the roster anymore. So, like when you add up
- 2:31Speaker 2: all of the trade deadline, what did they actually get
- 2:33Speaker 2: and how much did they miss out on going after
- 2:36Speaker 2: big boys.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Yeah, they've been crushed a lot for the trade deadline,
- 2:41Speaker 3: both at the time and especially now. They got Kyle Finigan,
- 2:45Speaker 3: who had an aisle stint that's been really good. He's
- 2:48Speaker 3: only allowed one run. Rafael Montero, one of these project guys.
- 2:51Speaker 3: It was like, Okay, really he's been pretty good. They've
- 2:54Speaker 3: helped him get better. They really needed to add swing
- 2:56Speaker 3: and mister to their bullpen. Those two guys have actually
- 2:58Speaker 3: done a decent job helping. I think if you were
- 3:01Speaker 3: to ask the Tigers and be like, well, why didn't
- 3:03Speaker 3: you get a closer they'd be like, well, what he
- 3:05Speaker 3: wants to get Ryan Helsley, He's been awful, And I
- 3:08Speaker 3: think that is the thinking that led to this approach.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Let's get a bunch of guys, throw it at the wall,
- 3:13Speaker 3: hope a couple of them stick. Kind of a risky
- 3:16Speaker 3: approach in itself, though, Is that really a better approach
- 3:18Speaker 3: than just going and getting a couple of dudes who
- 3:21Speaker 3: throw one hundred and are really hard to hit. I
- 3:24Speaker 3: think that's the big question here. But the worst thing
- 3:26Speaker 3: they did was go get two starters. Charlie Morton and
- 3:29Speaker 3: Chris Paddock both came relatively inexpensive, and Morton's no longer
- 3:35Speaker 3: on the team. Chris Paddock's been demoted to the bullpen.
- 3:38Speaker 3: He's hanging on by a thread. I was one of
- 3:41Speaker 3: few banging the drum for like, you need to reinforce
- 3:43Speaker 3: this rotation. You're an injury away from being in a
- 3:46Speaker 3: bad spot. Reese Alsen got hurt. You got two guys.
- 3:50Speaker 3: One of them was forty one came to you with
- 3:51Speaker 3: an ERA around six. The other Chris Paddock, just hadn't
- 3:54Speaker 3: really been that good for a couple of years. Now
- 3:58Speaker 3: they have failed spectacle and the Tigers have tried to
- 4:02Speaker 3: kind of do the cute thing where they cycle in
- 4:04Speaker 3: and out a bunch of different pitchers, turn the roster,
- 4:07Speaker 3: turn the bullpen every series. They did that last year
- 4:09Speaker 3: and it worked. They're showing why that's not necessarily the
- 4:13Speaker 3: most sustainable approach because it hasn't worked this time around.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Now you're entering the biggest series of the year with
- 4:18Speaker 3: some relievers stuck in the option cycle and with a
- 4:21Speaker 3: bullpen that just doesn't look very good beyond one or
- 4:23Speaker 3: two guys.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Did this happen quick? To the to the clubhouse, the
- 4:28Speaker 4: vibe when you walked in there, Did it happen quick?
- 4:31Speaker 4: Where they're like, whatever, we got this, we got this?
- 4:35Speaker 4: Holy crap, we don't got it? Or has it been
- 4:38Speaker 4: like a slow build here through these last ten games
- 4:42Speaker 4: slash two weeks.
- 4:44Speaker 3: I think it's been kind of quick. I mean, you
- 4:46Speaker 3: can go back to June and the Tigers were playing
- 4:48Speaker 3: closer to five hundred ball than being the team they
- 4:51Speaker 3: were in May. But they had such a big game
- 4:55Speaker 3: in a big lead in the Ale Central it never
- 4:58Speaker 3: really felt like it. They lost twelve to thirteen at
- 5:00Speaker 3: one point in July and it wasn't great, But you
- 5:02Speaker 3: look at the standings and be like, Okay, well there's baseball.
- 5:05Speaker 3: They're gonna snap out of it. And I think that
- 5:07Speaker 3: was kind of the mentality, and they lost a couple
- 5:09Speaker 3: of games. I was with the team in Miami and
- 5:12Speaker 3: I was like, it feels oddly tense in here. And
- 5:16Speaker 3: since then, maybe it's been slower since then, but the
- 5:19Speaker 3: last ten days it's like every day feels a little worse,
- 5:22Speaker 3: a little tighter, a little more quiet, and now you
- 5:26Speaker 3: look up and you're fighting for their lives. So one
- 5:28Speaker 3: of those things that happened gradually and then suddenly kind
- 5:32Speaker 3: of all at the same time.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Cody, how much of this, though, do you think was
- 5:37Speaker 5: a lack And I've said this, I thought they would
- 5:38Speaker 5: turn around once they got it back in their division.
- 5:40Speaker 5: Is a lack of I don't want to say focus
- 5:43Speaker 5: because that's not the right thing, but lack of you know,
- 5:46Speaker 5: immediacy and like we have to go now, because they're like,
- 5:49Speaker 5: oh we have a ten game lead. Oh we still
- 5:51Speaker 5: have a seven game lead, we still have a five
- 5:52Speaker 5: game lead. And they never were able to get that
- 5:55Speaker 5: urgency and ready to go and the fire back, and
- 5:58Speaker 5: now they have to try and find it and a
- 6:00Speaker 5: lot of times. What you see happen is once you
- 6:02Speaker 5: lose it, it's really hard to get it back.
- 6:04Speaker 4: For most teams, can they do that? Yeah?
- 6:08Speaker 3: Right, that's the big question. I don't know. I'm not
- 6:10Speaker 3: trying to question the competitive character of those guys, and
- 6:13Speaker 3: I don't envy them having to stand in front of
- 6:15Speaker 3: the cameras every day and try to explain this when
- 6:18Speaker 3: they're the ones on the field kind of getting their
- 6:20Speaker 3: teeth kicked in right now, but they're being tested. That's
- 6:24Speaker 3: the huge question. Can you turn this around? I do
- 6:27Speaker 3: think there must have been some element of not coasting,
- 6:30Speaker 3: but it's just different when you're up ten, twelve, fourteen games.
- 6:35Speaker 3: You're not playing with that pressure. You're also not playing
- 6:37Speaker 3: with urgency. I think that must have set in subconsciously.
- 6:41Speaker 3: And then you wonder too, when your front office doesn't
- 6:44Speaker 3: really go get you some real horses at the trade deadline,
- 6:47Speaker 3: what message does that send to the team When your
- 6:49Speaker 3: front office and you know, the coaching staff, they're bumping
- 6:52Speaker 3: guys back to build an extra rest, they're kind of
- 6:55Speaker 3: giving these retread pitchers tryouts because hey, we have a
- 6:58Speaker 3: ten game division lead, we can do this. What kind
- 7:00Speaker 3: of message does that send to the players and then
- 7:03Speaker 3: all this builds up and suddenly you're in a really
- 7:05Speaker 3: really bad spot on the verge of a historic collapse.
- 7:09Speaker 4: To me, I would kind of buck against that. It
- 7:11Speaker 4: sends confidence, Hey, we don't need that many people. We
- 7:14Speaker 4: think what you guys are doing, even though they are
- 7:17Speaker 4: all above everybody's norms for their career or their last
- 7:20Speaker 4: like three or four years, we believe in you. So
- 7:23Speaker 4: I would kind of buck against that that. If a
- 7:25Speaker 4: front office can back the current players on the field,
- 7:28Speaker 4: that gives them a vote of confidence. But now you're
- 7:32Speaker 4: in the case where a guy like Colt Keith goes
- 7:35Speaker 4: down he wasn't producing to like this MVP level. Do
- 7:42Speaker 4: they not have enough depth to fill that in? And
- 7:45Speaker 4: along with that depth, you knew howve Bayas was going
- 7:48Speaker 4: to come down from where he was if the team
- 7:52Speaker 4: was in another situation. Would Hovey Bias have played himself
- 7:55Speaker 4: out of a position for the postseason in the way
- 7:59Speaker 4: that he's played in asked two and a half months.
- 8:03Speaker 3: The funny thing about that, Eric is I've kind of
- 8:05Speaker 3: been advocating for Hobby Bias to play more because the
- 8:08Speaker 3: guy who's been playing over him, Tray Sweeney has a
- 8:11Speaker 3: WRC plus of one in the second half. He's given
- 8:15Speaker 3: you equal to worse production than Hobby at the plate.
- 8:18Speaker 3: And there's still some small things Hobby Bias does in
- 8:20Speaker 3: the field during the game that can be complete difference makers.
- 8:24Speaker 3: Hobby Bias has had a terrible second half. He's playing
- 8:26Speaker 3: like the guy who we weren't sure if he was
- 8:28Speaker 3: gonna be brought back on the roster. But to your point, Eric,
- 8:32Speaker 3: like the alternative might be worse, and the alternative beyond
- 8:35Speaker 3: Tray Sweeney in the organization, at least on the forty
- 8:38Speaker 3: man roster, is nothing. They have gotten in a weird
- 8:42Speaker 3: spot where especially left handed bats on the farm, they
- 8:45Speaker 3: don't really have anything other than Kevin McGonagall, who's in
- 8:47Speaker 3: double A, and it doesn't seem like they want to
- 8:49Speaker 3: bring up And I don't necessarily blame him for not
- 8:52Speaker 3: one to throw McGonagall into that situation, but yeah, the
- 8:55Speaker 3: depth is thinned out. You had a guy in Jase
- 8:57Speaker 3: Young who's on this roster, replaced Keith time Prospect a
- 9:00Speaker 3: couple of years ago. They oh, they didn't want to
- 9:02Speaker 3: block him whatever, his development has really tapered off. It's
- 9:07Speaker 3: funny how I think every team probably enters the season
- 9:09Speaker 3: thinking they have depth, and then you get to August September,
- 9:12Speaker 3: you look up and your depth can evaporate pretty quickly
- 9:16Speaker 3: based on injuries, based on underperformance. I think that's certainly happened,
- 9:20Speaker 3: where now you kind of have two short stops who
- 9:22Speaker 3: might not be on a lot of other rosters or
- 9:24Speaker 3: on playoff rosters, but you have nowhere else here.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Crats.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Let's talk about Omaha Steaks.
- 9:30Speaker 1: And it's not just steaks.
- 9:32Speaker 2: It's chicken winings, it's smash burgers, big Deli style franks.
- 9:37Speaker 2: There are a number of categories that you can hit
- 9:40Speaker 2: all in one place. They've been doing it for a
- 9:41Speaker 2: long time. They're the best of the biz.
- 9:43Speaker 1: And if you got a good full a life's good, man.
- 9:46Speaker 4: But you got to finish every meal with some delectable
- 9:49Speaker 4: desserts too. They have those too, to go along with
- 9:53Speaker 4: these delicious steiks.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Mm hmm, Apple caramel tarts on the list, among many
- 9:57Speaker 2: other menu items to check out. Be the hero that

- 10:29Speaker 2: Okay, so let's bring everyone in for a moment. I'm
- 10:31Speaker 2: putting my dukes up for a sec. To what Kratz said,
- 10:33Speaker 2: AJ chime in. If at the trade deadline, you don't
- 10:37Speaker 2: bring in a big boy, like if you're the Tigers
- 10:40Speaker 2: and you don't go for a Duran or we talked
- 10:43Speaker 2: about even a bat because they had flexibility at Ginosuirez
- 10:46Speaker 2: or something like that. Are you telling your team, hey,
- 10:48Speaker 2: we believe in you, we don't need anything. Are you
- 10:50Speaker 2: telling your team we don't want to trade any prospects'
- 10:53Speaker 2: on the ten year plan?
- 10:54Speaker 4: How do I know you?
- 10:54Speaker 1: Look, if you were in the clubhouse and you're the Tigers, Well, if.
- 10:58Speaker 5: You're in the clubmost you don't care about the prospect
- 11:00Speaker 5: because you want to win now, so you take care.
- 11:01Speaker 5: So you're like, all right, Well, they must think we're good.
- 11:03Speaker 5: But at the same time, trust me, there are people
- 11:05Speaker 5: that were complaining in the clubhouse that they didn't go
- 11:07Speaker 5: out and make a bigger move.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Because even if you think you're really good, like you
- 11:11Speaker 2: don't think you need any help in the playoffs, you
- 11:13Speaker 2: don't think you need another big boy in the bullpen
- 11:15Speaker 2: or it's another back.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Definitely guys complaining about it.
- 11:17Speaker 5: I promise you there was guys playing why.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Didn't we do more?
- 11:20Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 11:20Speaker 2: How did you feel at the time, Cody that the
- 11:22Speaker 2: clubhouse reacted to the trade deadline?
- 11:25Speaker 3: It's hard to get a sense for it. I think
- 11:27Speaker 3: it's been a reminder that this is a pretty young team.
- 11:31Speaker 3: This is a lot of guys who are still trying
- 11:33Speaker 3: to establish their careers, trying to stay in line. If
- 11:37Speaker 3: they had a problem with the organization, they weren't going
- 11:39Speaker 3: to be saying that to me or anyone in the media.
- 11:42Speaker 3: I did say at the time, like, maybe this is
- 11:44Speaker 3: a vote of confidence in the guys in the group,
- 11:47Speaker 3: But then yeah, like to your point, these guys want
- 11:50Speaker 3: to win, they want to win the World Series, and
- 11:52Speaker 3: I think they would know they would feel better if
- 11:56Speaker 3: they they got another big horse in that room. One
- 12:00Speaker 3: thing I want to point out, and it's not really
- 12:01Speaker 3: a defensive of the Tigers, but there's so much focus
- 12:04Speaker 3: on the trade deadline, and there are a lot of
- 12:06Speaker 3: other teams that would like the Mets, that were more
- 12:08Speaker 3: aggressive and it didn't work out. But the Tigers are
- 12:11Speaker 3: getting blasted for the trade deadline in part because of
- 12:13Speaker 3: other bad decisions they've made along the way. Alex Cobb
- 12:17Speaker 3: Kin Tamaiita. They spent twenty five million on those two pitchers,
- 12:20Speaker 3: they got nothing out of them. They signed John Brebia,
- 12:22Speaker 3: they dfa'd him before the All Star break. You add
- 12:27Speaker 3: in a couple injuries, they didn't close the door, or
- 12:29Speaker 3: they didn't get the Alex Bregman deal done. They didn't
- 12:32Speaker 3: go after a guy like Hasung Kim, who is available
- 12:35Speaker 3: again mid season. Some of the waiver claims victories they've
- 12:38Speaker 3: had on the margins over the past couple of years
- 12:40Speaker 3: haven't really been any of those this year. So then
- 12:43Speaker 3: when you don't have that depth, when you have needs
- 12:45Speaker 3: in the rotation and elsewhere, and you don't do it
- 12:47Speaker 3: at the trade deadline, everyone's pointing to the deadline saying, hey,
- 12:50Speaker 3: why didn't you do more. In a way, it's a
- 12:51Speaker 3: function of bigger and smaller decisions for the past ten
- 12:55Speaker 3: twelve months.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Yeah, part of it to me is I do think
- 13:01Speaker 2: front offices look at their biggest wins as those pickups
- 13:05Speaker 2: like Kyle Fitigain. You can make a case for right
- 13:07Speaker 2: not highly coveted, and then it comes over here.
- 13:09Speaker 1: They're like, hey, throw away more splitters. Oh look look
- 13:11Speaker 1: what we did, and you can kind of brag about it.
- 13:13Speaker 1: It's not as easy to.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Pull off when you're convincing your owner for more money
- 13:17Speaker 2: and we're trading more prospects. So, Cody, do you feel
- 13:20Speaker 2: like this front office is digging too deep into, you know,
- 13:25Speaker 2: bargain hunting versus going for a big fish when clearly
- 13:28Speaker 2: they had that ability, right they went for Alex Bregman.
- 13:31Speaker 2: They just weren't able to close it.
- 13:34Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, that's been their approach. Bregman's really the
- 13:36Speaker 3: only big guy they have pursued in a serious manner
- 13:40Speaker 3: under this current regime. And look, a couple of years ago,
- 13:43Speaker 3: you're still building up. You're trying to see what young
- 13:45Speaker 3: guys you have that makes sense. You're coming off a
- 13:48Speaker 3: playoff run and you added Tommy Kinley and Alex Cobb
- 13:52Speaker 3: and John Breber. Yet Labor Tourists was a pretty nice signing,
- 13:55Speaker 3: had a great first half as tapered off in the
- 13:57Speaker 3: second half. But it's a one year deal. They like
- 14:00Speaker 3: their one year deals, They like their flexibility. Look, I
- 14:03Speaker 3: know long term deals are scary, right, there's some risk
- 14:05Speaker 3: built in there, but I think the second half has
- 14:09Speaker 3: shown that, Like, hey, the matchups, the mixing and the matching,
- 14:12Speaker 3: all that is great. There's a reason a lot of
- 14:14Speaker 3: teams prefer to still just go get really good players.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Sometimes that's the more reliable way to win games.
- 14:21Speaker 4: All right, Cody, we got to remember they control their
- 14:24Speaker 4: own destiny. Take us to this week. They have Scooble
- 14:28Speaker 4: going twice. It seems like I think they face Viby,
- 14:33Speaker 4: but it's not Cleveland's horses, their hottest pitchers. Right now,
- 14:40Speaker 4: how does this week play out to me? And we
- 14:44Speaker 4: talked about earlier. Looks like it's a Tiger's advantage because
- 14:47Speaker 4: they have Scooble going twice. It doesn't look great for
- 14:49Speaker 4: the playoffs, but they got to get in first.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I think in an ideal world you don't have
- 14:54Speaker 3: scoopol going twice because you win some games and you
- 14:57Speaker 3: push them off that last day in Boston. Trek Scouoble
- 15:00Speaker 3: is this team's great equalizer. They're great trump card. He's
- 15:04Speaker 3: the best thing this organization has going. And you're gonna
- 15:07Speaker 3: give him the ball in a big game and hope
- 15:09Speaker 3: he can give you, you know, seven shutty or something
- 15:11Speaker 3: to that effect, help you get off the schneide, and
- 15:15Speaker 3: then hey, maybe you steal one more in Cleveland. Maybe
- 15:17Speaker 3: you're feeling a little better about yourself. We'll see. You
- 15:21Speaker 3: don't want to lose that Schooble start. They've lost three
- 15:24Speaker 3: of their past five Trek Scougle starts. But if there's
- 15:27Speaker 3: anything to make you feel better, I think you're right.
- 15:29Speaker 3: I think it's Schoogle.
- 15:31Speaker 4: All right, I messed up. I thought Gavin Williams just pitched.
- 15:34Speaker 4: So the Guardians do have their two best going. They
- 15:37Speaker 4: have Gavin Williams and Tanner Biby. I thought he pitched
- 15:40Speaker 4: on Sunday. I was mistaken. So Tigers are cooked.
- 15:44Speaker 1: My bad.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Well, they're getting a Guardians team that I mean is
- 15:50Speaker 2: historically good in the last few weeks in run prevention,
- 15:52Speaker 2: So goody. The rest of the way here, it's three
- 15:54Speaker 2: against the Guardians and then scoreboard watching gets really weird
- 15:58Speaker 2: because at one point not long ago, it looked like
- 16:01Speaker 2: the Red Sox were just gonna kind of be firmly
- 16:03Speaker 2: in one of those wild card spots.
- 16:05Speaker 1: They're not.
- 16:06Speaker 2: They have to finish strong, so we might get to
- 16:08Speaker 2: that final series of the year where the Tigers need
- 16:10Speaker 2: to win and oh wait, the Red Sox are on
- 16:12Speaker 2: Cruis in either so that's their last three games of
- 16:14Speaker 2: the year in Boston. So how daunting is this schedule
- 16:17Speaker 2: here for them?
- 16:19Speaker 3: It's not ideal, but it's gonna be some fun baseball.
- 16:22Speaker 3: It's gonna be some real atmosphere, some tense, tight atmospheres.
- 16:26Speaker 3: The Tigers and Guardians play each other, you know, fighting
- 16:28Speaker 3: tooth and nail all the time. You're gonna go into
- 16:31Speaker 3: what could also be a big series in Boston with
- 16:34Speaker 3: Alex Bregman playing third base for the other team. Yeah.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I don't know if it's what you want. You'd probably
- 16:40Speaker 3: rather face the White Sox or the Rockies right here,
- 16:44Speaker 3: But this is what you got. It'll be fun. Last
- 16:47Speaker 3: year I covered a team that over cane zero point
- 16:49Speaker 3: two percent playoff odds and had a historic run. This year,
- 16:53Speaker 3: I'm covering a team that is on the verge of
- 16:54Speaker 3: blowing ninety nine point nine percent playoff odds and having
- 16:58Speaker 3: a historic collapse. So I'm so far out of the
- 17:01Speaker 3: prediction business. Tigers went on go five and one down
- 17:05Speaker 3: the stretch and go to the World Series and wouldn't
- 17:06Speaker 3: shock me. But also watching this team for the past month,
- 17:09Speaker 3: it wouldn't shock me if they end up being toasted.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it's crazy. I mean you look at the run
- 17:14Speaker 1: for Cleveland.
- 17:14Speaker 2: They're doing this without Emmanuel Class, They're doing this without
- 17:19Speaker 2: Louis Ortiz to a lesser extent, but still they traded
- 17:22Speaker 2: away Shane Biebert, a crazy story that we did not
- 17:25Speaker 2: expect to be covering this way. Cody, good stuff. Enjoy
- 17:28Speaker 2: covering the week as a writer, It's fun to cover chaos,
- 17:32Speaker 2: So enjoy that. We'll be watching, we'll be looking at
- 17:35Speaker 2: the articles, and we'll be listening and watching Tiger Territory.
