- 0:21Welcome inside the treehouse time believe your worries outside and join me. Dan ol'
- 0:25mally, Trade Trenholm and Raz Sharman for episode sixty two. Thank you for
- 0:35joining us. So I need to just kick all the normal pleasantries to the
- 0:44curb and we need to discuss some of the most jarring news I have I
- 0:49think ever heard in my forty four years on this planet. All Right,
- 1:00Snoop Dogg says he's giving up smoke. Yeah, I read, uh,
- 1:06I read read the tragic news this morning that came up and one of my
- 1:10bulletins on my on my phone, and uh, I thought it was one
- 1:12of those like like those death hoaks. I when you hear like so and
- 1:17So's died, it's not real. But then uh you know, uh kind
- 1:22of I can kind of see like he I think he got to a point
- 1:25where he couldn't get higher, but he Uh yeah, I've I've heard the
- 1:38stories about people smoking with Snoop. I've heard a few stories where it's the
- 1:45highest they've ever been mm hmm. And he was fine, And I think
- 1:49that's I think that's what the problem is is he's like he's now gotten the
- 1:55people around him as high as they could get and now there's no one.
- 1:59There's no one left. I think he he smoked himself out of smoke it.
- 2:05He's actually sort of like sort of like trade did with alcohol, right,
- 2:10except he's still had a lot of money and fame and everything. But
- 2:15he's quit before, Like this isn't the first time he's done this. So
- 2:21I and the man, huh, yeah, did he quit before? He
- 2:24quit before for a little bit. Uh, I forgot it was some I
- 2:30want to say it was someone like from Earth, Wind and Fire. I
- 2:32know it's random, but that that taught to him and he decided he gave
- 2:36it up for a while and then he started up again. But also,
- 2:39you know M. Snoop is married to his high school you know sweetheart,
- 2:45and he has seven grandkids now and maybe he's just thinks he needs to be
- 2:47a better example. Oh maybe. I mean he also coaches his or he
- 2:53did for a while. He coached his kids, uh football team like that
- 2:59they that was the thing he was doing. And yeah, maybe it is.
- 3:01He's gotten older and wiser, and uh, I would like to see,
- 3:06uh what a like in my head, he he has he stopped smoking,
- 3:13and he wakes up and is like I was on a show with Martha
- 3:15Stewart. Yeah, yeah, I woke up from a coma for like fifty
- 3:23years and wondered what did I miss? I mean it really if you want
- 3:27to take it as a case study, just just fascinating. Is you know,
- 3:34this guy was the face of gangs, murder, gangster rap, Calvin
- 3:39was it Burns Brotus, Calvin Brotus, you know, entrial for murder,
- 3:45you know after you know, he came out, you know, with and
- 3:49got big and everything else, and he was the f you know, now
- 3:52he's doing commercials with the whitest of white women and they're best friends, like
- 3:57yeah, and he does sketchers commerce. Yeah. I mean it's the same
- 4:01thing. Like going back to this, it's like the same thing with uh
- 4:06with with the ice cube ice cue was and they were all in that same
- 4:10crew. They were all crips from the same part of uh Long Beach,
- 4:15Compton, and now they're all like they all live in the hills and they
- 4:20all live in you know, they they do hills stuff, which is you
- 4:26have PTA's and you have homeowners associations. You know. The people that are
- 4:30still cripping are still cripping. Uh, these guys got their money. Like
- 4:33I again, like when I said I would run into ice Cube, it
- 4:36was at the CVS. It wasn't the CVS in Compton. It was the
- 4:41CVS and Encino, like right down the street from where Michael Jackson, like
- 4:45the Jackson five lived. Uh. And then they all still live there.
- 4:48Now whoever's still alive is still there now there. I've driven past their Havenhurst
- 4:54house, so they're all still there. They're not doing Compton stuff. So
- 4:59when he's like when you're like, hey, he's you know, he's he
- 5:01was still smoking smoking great we I mean he was the best weed ever And
- 5:05he's like, yeah, I want to smoke and I want to learn how
- 5:08to make a a krem breulet from Martha Stewart because I'm high. It really
- 5:14is. It really is one of the greatest American stories from Compton to the
- 5:16Hamptons. Yes, that's exactly right. Uh. And so yeah, I
- 5:21mean I I believe that he I think that he will stop for a while
- 5:27again and be like, yeah, I it's just who I am and it's
- 5:30uh and it works for me. So I'm going to start again. Maybe
- 5:33it's a reset. So it could be like you were saying, he has
- 5:39smoked so much that he cannot possibly get any higher. So the only way
- 5:45to then ever enjoy it again, if he so chose, would be to
- 5:48stop for a long period of time and then start over at a at a
- 5:53lower threshold where he might actually enjoy it again. Yeah, that's what that's
- 5:59what my I would do. That that makes sense, right, Like you're
- 6:03spending that much money on it, and I'm sure it's not cheap, and
- 6:06I'm sure it's really good, and I'm sure it's California, so it's all
- 6:11from dispensaries or you know, he has probably has his own grow house and
- 6:15and it's really good and it's hydroponic and all the good stuff. And he's
- 6:20just like, I can't I can't get higher. Yeah, go ahead,
- 6:27Drey. Or maybe maybe he just looked at Willie Nelson and he goes,
- 6:30man, I don't want to end up looking like that, like an old
- 6:34white woman. You don't know what long term effects are. That's true.
- 6:43Maybe maybe maybe Willie Nelson was originally also from Compton or Long Beach. Yes,
- 6:48I remember when Willie Nelson was a poor black child in Compton. Maybe
- 6:57that was maybe that was the intervention that got to Snoop Dogg that was led
- 7:02by Willie Nelson saying, Hey, I used to be you. You keep
- 7:13it up, I'm your future. I did love Snoops statement that he released
- 7:20on Instagram, a black and white photo of himself sort of prayer, hands
- 7:27to his mouth, looking off center, looking emotional and pensive, and the
- 7:33statement reads, after much consideration in conversation with my family, I've decided to
- 7:40give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time. At then,
- 7:44Simon, I love how he throws in, please respect my privacy at this
- 7:49time, like it's a celebrity divorce, which I guess in a way it
- 7:54kind of is. I would imagine he's been more faithful to marijuana than he's
- 7:58been to his high school suite art. Maybe. I mean, you have
- 8:07to understand this is a tragic loss for all of us now it actually is.
- 8:15There are some serious economic implications here because he is synonymous with marijuana for
- 8:20so much of his life. A statement like this, newsmaking like this.
- 8:28He's a longtime advocate of marijuana. He's fifty years old. He started his
- 8:31own line of marijuana products, Leafs by Snoop in twenty fifteen. Four years
- 8:37later, an Israeli startup that promotes homegrown marijuana signed him as a brand ambassador
- 8:43in twenty nineteen Hell's. He also famously smoked a joint while walking the red
- 8:48carpet at the MTV Movie Awards in twenty twenty one, and claimed to smoke
- 8:52eighty one joints a day. He is my spik, he said he was
- 8:58cutting down on smoking becoming a grandfather, That's what he said. Earlier this
- 9:01year, he told The Daily Mail that he wants to be more aware of
- 9:05his life, of his lifestyle choices, because he wants to see his grandchildren
- 9:09grow up. So I mean, going back to the economic side of things,
- 9:13that this actually does play a bit of a role in the marijuana industry
- 9:18as a whole. When you have the guy that's probably one of your most
- 9:22famous spokespeople and ambassadors and yeah, whatever else, whatever else, whatever title
- 9:31you want to put on czar or whatever, king of weed, it's you
- 9:35know, I imagine, you know, like if if marijuana was traded on
- 9:39the Stock Exchange, I would imagine there would have been a fluctuation today,
- 9:43Yes, today, there would have been a market drop on such a devastating
- 9:48news to that industry, for sure. I'm sure there's dispensaries. I'm sure
- 9:54there's dispensaries in Los Angeles right now that are like, we're not going to
- 9:58make We're not going to make rent. That's exactly what I was thinking,
- 10:03because you got a guy who's saying that he smokes eighty one joints a day.
- 10:05That is going to put a serious dint into local dispensaries. Similarly,
- 10:09what would happen to Saint Thomas When Tara and I moved to Saint John.
- 10:15There are a couple of bars that we're worried about not being there when we
- 10:18get back. But that actually is a legitimate thing you think about. It's
- 10:24like, okay, well you know a lot of people you know. Is
- 10:26it Is it a sign that he's finally necessarily needing to mature? But if
- 10:31he gives up the smoke, will other people do it also? And therefore
- 10:35a hit on the marijuana economy. Yes, he put a hit. The
- 10:41marijuana industry took a hit because he's no longer taking them. That's what it
- 10:45is. So but yeah, I mean, I would love to read the
- 10:50news tomorrow and be like Mexico bankrupt subhead. Now we're really not paying for
- 10:58that, or build it now, we're not sending anything over Snoop stopped.
- 11:09There's no room in the budget. Just go ahead and build it. There's
- 11:13nothing. What's the point? You just cut to Mexico and they're just like
- 11:18they're just filling in tunnels like we don't need to We don't need to go
- 11:22back anymore, Snoop quid. They're putting on suits and ties and updating their
- 11:28LinkedIn profiles. They got a resume builder software on a computer that says you
- 11:39have sales experience but to one client. I know, and that's why I'm
- 11:43here now. So turns out I really needed to diversify. Well that's great.
- 11:58Uh. He just completely bankrupted the eat industry, just single handedly.
- 12:01It was eighty one I mean eighty one a day times three hundred and sixty
- 12:05five. Let's just be honest with you hard. Yeah, money, he
- 12:09literally killed this industry. Like now everybody's gonna legalize it. It doesn't matter.
- 12:13Now you gotta you gotta, you gotta figure out how to get that
- 12:16money back. Uh. But good for good for sup Uh. I don't
- 12:20think he's gonna lie. He picked the wrong time in history to stop being
- 12:24high. Like, I don't think he's gonna like what he sees when he
- 12:30sobers up, Like, and how did it take for that much weed to
- 12:33get out of your system? He might die before he's not high, that's
- 12:39true. He could be dead for like thirty years and they still maybe they
- 12:43take they pluck a piece of hair off his head from out of his uh
- 12:48uh casket and he still would not pass a thirty years after the fact of
- 12:56him dying. Yeah, I think he's gonna be I think I think it
- 13:01takes like twenty four hours to clear your system, but it can like it
- 13:05can they can still detective, but like eighty one joints a day. You're
- 13:09he's gonna be high till next year. So we're to the end of next
- 13:13year. So maybe that's what excuse me. Maybe that's what he wants to
- 13:16do, is be like I want to give my New Year's resolution is to
- 13:20be not high in twenty twenty four and see, and I think maybe this
- 13:24is actually maybe this is one of the largest altruistic achievements of his life,
- 13:31because he said he wants to be around and more aware of his grandchildren.
- 13:39Right, Yeah, So maybe what he's doing is he's giving up eighty one
- 13:41joints a day, so there's a little bit left for his grandchildren to be
- 13:46able to smoke. Me he quit smoking, so future generations could he quit
- 13:56smoking just so he'd have time to do something else, Like maybe he just
- 14:03wants to grow a tomato plant. What's on the agenda today? Snoop Hi,
- 14:09Okay, I think that actually would make a great Netflix documentary, Snoop
- 14:18Dogg. What am I going to do with all this newfound free time?
- 14:22Snoop Dogg? Now what, Snoop Dogg? There's twenty four hours in a
- 14:26day? Since when? Yeah? I mean, when you're smoking eighty one
- 14:33joints a day, you're not going by the regular twenty four hour clock that
- 14:37the rest of us do. Yeah, And here's the solution is simple.
- 14:41Like you said, he wants to get a little more clarity, and he
- 14:43wants to see you know whatever. I just think the minute he accidentally stumbles
- 14:48across the next Republican debates, he'll start smoking again. That'll be just because
- 14:58I don't want to see this, or or in about thirty days, he's
- 15:07going to start a new line of you know edible Snoop gummy gums. Yeah,
- 15:13maybe he stops smoking and he's just going to chocolates. Yeah, he
- 15:20said he's stop smoke. He did. That's right, Tray. He says
- 15:24I'm giving up smoke. He didn't say he's given up being high. He
- 15:28didn't say he's given up you know, the the edible gummies or the sweet
- 15:31treats. Yeah. Maybe maybe we're finally getting the culmination of that unholy alliance
- 15:37between Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart Gourmet gummies. Yeah, oh yeah, I
- 15:46could, I would go, I would These are my These are my gummies
- 15:50right there. These are the wheat gummies. Are those legal in Texas?
- 15:54They are absolutely not? Oh you aren't you something? Well, I'm just
- 16:03saying, I mean I'm not. I didn't. I didn't get it here,
- 16:06thank you. FedEx also's fault. Yeah, that's another thing we got
- 16:11to keep in mind, because you know, Snoop Dogg, chances are you
- 16:14know, he's probably having it brought to him, so FedEx may have a
- 16:18stock drop. This is yeah, that's the fact. And this is also
- 16:21another one. And this I and I know this to be true. He
- 16:23has a guy that he is employed that rolls his joints. Clearly that man
- 16:30that guy worked forty hours worked for That guy worked forty hours a day.
- 16:47I guess he's going to be uh in line with the Mexicans updating his LinkedIn
- 16:52file. Yeah, so no, we got this guy who's out of a
- 17:00job, so now the unemployment is gonna go up. I'm telling you,
- 17:06like, this is devastating news because you don't need and you don't need to
- 17:10hire a guy to unpeel your gummy. Uh but he him and Kat Williams
- 17:17both have a guy that rolls their joints. So maybe Kat's guy gets too
- 17:21old and then this guy can get a job. I don't know how it's
- 17:22gonna work, but uh, the for sure there Maybe that's the loss that
- 17:30he's talking about when he's like, please respect our privacy. Is the loss
- 17:33of this man's livelihood and job as Snoops what it is? I want to
- 17:40I now need to get on social media and find Snoop's joint roller guy to
- 17:42see what his public statement is. Yeah, I just want to know how
- 17:47you get the job, Like, like you walk in into just a Snoop
- 17:49is like and there's just weed and rolling papers on the table and he watches
- 17:52you do it, and he's like, nah, man, how is that
- 17:57not a reality show? We haves like Top Chef and you know, say
- 18:03yes to the dress. Yeah, it seems like a like a like a
- 18:07slam Dunk show, say yes to the joint or top roller or rolling for
- 18:11Snoop. Do be with Snoopy. You gotta be careful then, because that
- 18:22sounds like something that kids would want to watch. Yeah, that had to
- 18:30have been, you know, because that guy's probably been on the payroll for
- 18:33decades. I mean his kids. You know, that guy's uncle something for
- 18:44I'd love it if his name was actually Uncle something, because nobody can remember
- 18:48his name from the girl. Visit us Onlinehouse on Air Dunk this week at

- 21:18couple of years ago, and he's really dedicated to this craft. He's just
- 21:23welcomed a new baby girl, and so this is his first time headlining at
- 21:27the Dallas Comedy Club. I will be there, so come hang out with
- 21:30me and see my buddy Shre do his first ever headlining set. And we
- 21:37had we went and had wings and watched at the game the other night on
- 21:41the Thursday night game. Yeah, I am assuming he's a Cowboys fan because
- 21:45in the headshot that the Dallas Comedy Club is using for him, he's actually
- 21:49wearing a backwards hat which has the Cowboys Love Dallas Cowboys star on it.
- 21:56So, yeah, go support a local boy making his headliner debut at the
- 21:59Dallas Comedy Yeah. We just he's a wing fan. His wife's vegetarian,
- 22:03so any chance he gets to run out of the house and eat meat.
- 22:11That's not a figurative thing, yeah, because that also happens. Yeah,
- 22:18it's you know my dad. You know, my dad was a vegetarian,
- 22:21and my mom and myself ate everything like it was like with the exception my
- 22:26my mom didn't eat beef because you know, she just the good in the
- 22:30winter that just didn't eat, but ate everything else. And then my dad
- 22:33was like, yeah, you all want to go you want to go to
- 22:36Taco Bell, Like, no, we sure don't. We're gonna go to
- 22:37Black I, P and E check it like a good family. So I
- 22:45understand his his pain. So any chance I can get to get him out
- 22:49to buy him some wings, I'm like, here's some a class proteins my
- 22:52brother. Here we go enjoy that. We also have a very exciting announcement
- 22:57we need to make before we move on to other silliness here in the treehouse.
- 23:02And that is on Saturday, December ninth. Fore like I need a
- 23:07like sis to happen here. Do you not have do not have any music?
- 23:12Not anything? See it's it's it's it's a a murky thing to play
- 23:18music during podcasts because then they you know, the people that own those music,
- 23:23own that music, want you to then pay for it, and we
- 23:26don't have that kind of money, gotcha. So that's why, like people
- 23:30will be like, good, bring back the original show intro. Well,
- 23:33I'd love to, but I don't want William Orbit's uh, you know,
- 23:37people coming to get us for using it because we could use it on the
- 23:41radio because we had something called bm My asscap. You're paying royalties for that
- 23:44stuff. We didn't pay that the radio companies did on the on the podcasting
- 23:48front. You got to pay for it or you get sued, right right.
- 23:56That's not really an alarm or an alert, but it kind of.
- 23:59But I do like it. Not crickets. It's not a rim shot.
- 24:03That's scary music. That's a bad sound. It's like Luke Bryan open mm
- 24:11hmm. See what else I got on here? M That sounds like,
- 24:18hey, let me get your attention. Okay, that's not right, Yeah,
- 24:33okay, yeah, there you go a lot of happy people. What's
- 24:37in the box? That's a good one. And maybe that one. Oh
- 24:45it's the Unsolved Mysteries theme song. I'm not sure if I can use that
- 24:48because that might get a suit as well. Are you ready to have the
- 24:51scared out of you. I forgot we had that. That's also a good
- 24:55one too. Yeah, that's the Halloween stuff. Okay, we're gonna go
- 25:04with that one. Here we go, ahh we go. Yeah. On
- 25:07Saturday, December ninth, I am very happy to announce we are doing a
- 25:15treehouse road show. But not just in a treehouse roadshow. No, no,
- 25:19not like the first two. Although the first two were a lot of
- 25:22fun. This will be a very special treehouse roadshow. In fact, it
- 25:29will be a Treehouse Christmas road Show, happening Saturday, December ninth from four
- 25:37to seven pm at Shaker Tins Midtown location. That is North Dallas off the
- 25:45toll Way and six thirty five. It's Tollay and Alpha Ish. It's just

- 25:57com. We will be there Saturday, December night, four to seven pm
- 26:02four a live Treehouse road show. We'll be taping the show. Come enjoy
- 26:07it, have some drinks, have some food, watch us do our thing
- 26:11on in person. And Raj has said that he thinks it to be a
- 26:19good time to roast me, and I'm not still sure how I feel about
- 26:23that, because I don't like being the center of attention. I don't even
- 26:26like my birthday being sung to me. So I'm really not sure how to
- 26:29respond to this. Yes, I do like the idea of having something else
- 26:33to do at the event. Yeah, the roast of Dan O'Malley. I
- 26:37think that's got a nice ring to it. And you know, I think
- 26:41there's a nice way to celebrate the holidays is with your friends taking a massive
- 26:48dump on you and so, and keeping with the holiday traditions of that,
- 26:56it will be the roast of Dan O'Malley. So come join us. We're
- 26:59gonna have a lot of people come through, uh, friends of the shows,
- 27:03comedians that are friends, and uh. At the end, Dan will
- 27:07get to vent his frustrations with all the things that we said about him.
- 27:11So it's gonna be a lot of fun. Yeah, just's I'm gonna have
- 27:14two versions. Okay, I'm gonna let you guys decide which version you get.
- 27:26Oh, okay, I I really like that idea. That's really clever,
- 27:30so good it's gonna be. It's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 27:33We're gonna, we're gonna, we're gonna make, We're gonna make We're gonna
- 27:36make some fun of everybody on the dais uh and then uh, we're gonna
- 27:40especially make fun of our host and leader and commander and general on the battlefield,
- 27:45Old Danny O'Malley. So everybody bring your big jump jumbo red pencils and
- 27:53get ready to write down your reviews and your thoughts and ideas. Someone doesn't
- 27:57bring me a big pencil to replace the original, I'm going to be thoroughly
- 28:02disappointed. Oh we we We've already taken care of that. Don't you worry.
- 28:10You're getting a big might as well get the big chief tablet while you're
- 28:15got some husky jeans coming. I got uh, I got the big red
- 28:22pencil with your name on it. Yeah, it's gonna it's gonna be it's
- 28:26gonna be a fun time to be had with all I'm trying to find the
- 28:29other Dan. If I can get to him by uh, by the show,
- 28:33we'll have what could have been. You show up, we'll see.
- 28:37Wow, it's gonna be really embarrassing if he's way more successful than me.
- 28:48Yes, that's the downside of it, We're still I'm still trying to find
- 28:52him, but we'll see. Yeah, that would be pretty rough, dan
- 28:55if I did. By the way, have I loved my big Chief tablet
- 28:57when I was in kindergarten? Yeah? You I love. I loved kids
- 29:06like that that that was that was adorable, like tracing the letters out and
- 29:08had the little the little connected the like alphabet stuff. And I was like,
- 29:14oh, rookies, I did that at two h Yeah. So just
- 29:19in a room full of daans. Uh you you were the gifted kid in
- 29:27kindergarten. Uh yeah, I was was just weird, man, I didn't
- 29:32I missed out on a lot of like a lot of life moments. I
- 29:33think that's why I'm a big kid now. Like I was walking at seven
- 29:37months old, uh so I never crawled, so I never had that experience.
- 29:42And then I was reading and writing by three. So I was that
- 29:47Indian kid that was like on a beanback chair reading while everybody else was doing
- 29:49the tracing the letters the alphabet or whatever. And they just give me a
- 29:53book and be like, oho, sit over there. You can always do
- 29:56this stuff. And I'm like, I know, nerd, I get it.
- 30:00I thought you were going to say, you're the Indian kid like slobbering
- 30:03on a bean bag while the other ones were doing open heart surgery at four.
- 30:07That's in India. I was in school here. Ah, I forgot
- 30:14that's right. You were in the SQUI for that. Let's not get carried
- 30:18away. I was in a far better place. It was called Pleasant Grove.
- 30:23So anyway, very excited, very very excited. We will be doing
- 30:26another Treehouse road show third of the year, last of the year for damn
- 30:32Sure at the Shaker Tins in North Dallas slash Addison area, the Galleria area.
- 30:37That's kind of what they call it the Midtown location, which is a
- 30:41good way to find it. So you go to shaker Tins dot com.
- 30:42You can click on the Midtown location. You get all the info you need
- 30:45right there to find it, or just throw it into Google as well.
- 30:48But Saturday, December ninth, four to seven pm, a very merry Treehouse
- 30:53road Show Christmas party plus my friend's making of me Yes, and we are
- 31:02also because we're not doing enough as it is, we are also doing a
- 31:07toy drive that day. That day, what we'd love for you to do
- 31:11is to bring a I forget the name of the company that Tara told me,
- 31:17but we're doing a toy drive benefiting the Warren Center, which is just
- 31:21a couple of miles west of the Shakerton's location. The Warren Center is a
- 31:26place that helps for children with special needs, especially from birth to age three.
- 31:33So they love developmental toys to help spur along their curiosities and and you
- 31:40know, development and everything. So we'll get more info out to you about
- 31:42that, so and the best toys to get elect the like sort of like
- 31:45the educational kind of ones. But whatever you get, they will put to
- 31:49good use. So a toy drive benefiting the Warren Center as well. At
- 31:55the Treehouse Christmas road Show Saturday, December ninth at Shaker TWI. It's four
- 32:00to seven pm, so it's first time we're doing it on a Saturday,
- 32:01so we don't have necessarily worry about rush hour getting in the way. There
- 32:06might be a little bit of Galleria traffic to go through, but that's no
- 32:08big deal. That's not going to be that bad that second weekend in December,
- 32:13so come have fun with us at Shakerton Saturday, December ninth, four
- 32:15to seven pm. And it feared like me, and you want to know
- 32:21what the parking situation's like, because if you have to make two laps,
- 32:24you're leaving. That's I understand your pain. Plenty plenty. I've been by
- 32:30there to check it out. There's plenty of free parking right there, right
- 32:36next to the venue, and then directly behind it is another parking lot that's
- 32:39completely open for parking, so you don't have to worry about it, so
- 32:44you don't have to go if there's no parking, we're leaving. Plenty of
- 32:46parking. Good to know, so don't have to worry about making two laps
- 32:50and leaving. You just make the one parking, come inside and have fun.
- 32:52I'm also open any other sort of festive ideas, like I do we
- 32:55want to do a white elephant gift exchange with all of it on the show.
- 33:00Any other sort of Christmas festivities. There's a book that I read two
- 33:07Christmases ago on the radio that I need to see if I still have it.
- 33:10I think that's one of the few things I grabbed out of my office
- 33:13at iHeart when before we got let go, because I knew it was I
- 33:19knew the I knew the guillotine was about to drop, So I ran off
- 33:22with you know, the good stuff that I wanted out of the office,
- 33:23and and the book that I think is a great story time read for children
- 33:29of all ages, Hookers and Blow. I think maybe a special reading with
- 33:36that will be will be done. Yeah, can I just get this out
- 33:39of the way. It's kind of much like the Christmas Vacation and the other
- 33:45movies that you guys referenced that I don't know because Hindu not big Christmas thing.
- 33:52What is a white elephant thing? What is it? What is it?
- 33:57It's basically where you get together with your friends and family and you do
- 34:02a gift exchange, and then you create some really frightening rules to then take
- 34:08those gifts back and take gifts from other people who wanted them, so then
- 34:13they're sad. That's kind of it in a nutshell, gotcha? So that's
- 34:17that sounds like no fun. But now you buy, you buy odd gifts
- 34:22and then let's say Dan picks one, he's the first, and then the
- 34:29next person has the option to take that from Dan or pick a gift,
- 34:32okay, and then if I take Dan's and he has to go back to
- 34:36the pile, and and so and sometimes there's good gifts and like then there's
- 34:39there's good gifts and there's silly gifts, and so it's kind of you know,
- 34:44who ends up with what at the end. They're actually fun, right,
- 34:45but there can be a lot of fun. But they could also end
- 34:49up with a brawl in the parking lot. So who knows. But don't
- 34:52I mean, wouldn't for it to work out, wouldn't you have to have
- 34:55even numbers? Like we're the three of us, so wouldn't it work out?
- 35:00Like we can just keep exchanging until we get the same thing, like
- 35:04the they have other people participating, Okay, because you'd have to because you'd
- 35:08have to have even numbers. If I'm right, Yeah, I think I
- 35:10think Jerry will be there are our dear friend and even it's just just it
- 35:20it ends at some point how I told you in the parking lot. Yeah,
- 35:29you white people are silly. So yeah, come to Shakers in Saturday,
- 35:34December ninth, four to seven pm Christmas road show with all of us,
- 35:37a toy drive benefiting the Warrant Center, the Roast of Me, and
- 35:42an eventual parking lot brawl. Okay, I'm in. I mean, I
- 35:49don't think you can get more Christmas than that. End up on the news
- 35:54just outside the galleria, gifts, flying gift rat people just covered in it,
- 36:00litter, tinsel ah, hookers in blow, hookers and hookers and blow.
- 36:07It's a North Dallas tradition. Absolutely Yeah. Visit us online at Treehouseonair
- 36:16dot com. Let's talk to Damiel Cook and COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration eight three
- 36:25three. COOKDFW is the phone number for your free roof inspection. The website
- 36:29cookdfw dot com. The common thing that we talked about on the show is,
- 36:34of course our Dallas Cowboys. And I'm going to assume Daniel that being
- 36:37a good North Texas man yourself, that you're probably a Cowboys fan right,
- 36:43born and bred Cowboys fan all the way back to the seventies. I remember
- 36:46going to the old Stadium many many times. I am you know what,
- 36:51I just I'm one of those fanatic fans. I enjoyed the older stadium.
- 36:54I just liked going there. I didn't care if it was raining, if
- 36:58it was cold. I just like that was football. And now we got
- 37:01all this plushness. And so when I go to at and T Stay or
- 37:05Jerry World, it's just like, this is why the tickets are one thousand
- 37:08dollars each. Now, yeah, you know I remember going to the games
- 37:12back in the eighties and nineties and the tickets were like twelve bucks. Yeah
- 37:15that's like I missed that so much. But yeah, and you were and
- 37:19you were freezing cold. One of the coldest days of my life was at
- 37:22Texas Stadium a couple of years ago. The Minnesota Old Dome Stadium, and
- 37:25this may be more than a couple of years ago. It fell through because
- 37:29there's so much snow on it. It got too much weight and the roof
- 37:31collapsed and that was pro I think they had another statement built after that.
- 37:35But anyway, that just shows I mean, the elements in all those areas
- 37:37could really be a lot for a structure, and people underestimate the way to
- 37:42snow when you start getting a lot of snow and a structure and it just
- 37:45stays there for days and days and days. The sub the sublaminate and all
- 37:49the different structure. The structure itself has just got so much pressure built up
- 37:52on it. When Minnesota had the Old Stadium, they should have called you
- 37:55for, you know, a consultation, and they would have found out that
- 37:59it was a bad idea to use that material to cover a you know,
- 38:01a billion dollar team. What you can do to save yourself? The same
- 38:06embarrassment of the Minnesota Vikings is called Daniel Cook from Cook DFLW Roofing and Restoration

- 38:30if we're going to be completely honest here, you're gonna you're gonna be here
- 38:35for a day in the Virgin Islands and you your your husband, boyfriend,
- 38:39me and my wife we are gonna do some stuff. We got a day
- 38:44to do it. We're gonna tear the island up. But does that mean
- 38:45Brooks Plumbing in North Texas stops when you party? Oh no, absolutely not.
- 38:52My company has paid for my Wi Fi package on my cruise. I'm
- 38:54gonna have my laptop with me. It will be business as usual. What's
- 38:59the time difference? I don't actually even know is there too? There is
- 39:01a big time difference here. So the US Virgin Islands is on Atlantic Standard
- 39:07time and does not observe daylight savings anything. So right now I am two
- 39:13hours ahead of Texas. That to me, that won't make a big difference.
- 39:15I was in the office at six am Texas time today. I left
- 39:19a little early. Like I said, I'm getting old. I'm going to
- 39:21the hair salon to have the gray died out of my hair before I come
- 39:23see Tara, because she's just a beauty queen and I don't want to look
- 39:28like a scrub on vacation. So but I'll have my work phone, I'll
- 39:30have my laptop. And the fact of the matter is that I especially will
- 39:34never stop working because if I don't do payroll, the guys will not come
- 39:37to work the next day. And so I take care of my customers.
- 39:43I take care of my guys. I just want everyone to know I just
- 39:45chartered a private fishing trip where we are shutting down the office December first,
- 39:50which is a Friday, so I can charter all my guys to Texoma.
- 39:52We've got them four separate chartered fishing boats. They're going to go fishing.
- 39:57They're gonna get a home cooked meal. But we're going to will have an
- 40:00emergency staff on duty and we're gonna rotate those guys on a different day.
- 40:05But so everybody's gonna get a trip on a boat. I'm going on a
- 40:07cruise and the guys are going fishing, So it's gonna work. Everybody wins
- 40:13and you will win as well. When you call Brooks Plumbing for any and

- 41:01three thirty eight thirty eight brooks Pluming Texas dot com speaking of Thanksgiving and
- 41:07steamrolling into the holidays. Raja saw that you posted something the other day about
- 41:15nine turkeys. Yeah, where is that? So we uh in our in
- 41:22your old hood, my my newest hood. Uh here in the Addison Carrollton
- 41:30or or Addison Carlton adjacent at the ninety nine cent store that was on uh
- 41:37that is on on Frankfurt and Marsh. It is next to the Aldi,
- 41:44and so we shop at the Aldi. And I usually run in to the
- 41:50nine nine cent store because they have fun stuff that you just don't see anywhere
- 41:52else, mostly because I don't know if it's allowed to be sold in actual
- 41:57stores or or whatever the case may be. So I went in and I
- 42:02saw the sign. It's like, you know for that, they're getting into
- 42:06the Black Friday stuff as well, and they're like, we have the early
- 42:09Black Friday stuff. All these things are going to be ninety nine cents.
- 42:13So I saw blueberries and I was like, oh great, because I make
- 42:15my smoothies in the morning, my protein shakes in the morning, and I
- 42:21like to have a little mix. They had some mango there the other days,
- 42:23I got a mango, and then next to the blueberries for ninety nine
- 42:28cents for the little one pound thing of blueberries. It said for the first
- 42:32fifty customers on the fifteenth, which I think was Wednesday, on the fifteenth
- 42:39of November, the first fifty customers get a ninety nine cent full whole turkey.
- 42:49And I had to read it a few times for me to understand that
- 42:52this was real. I thought it might be ninety nine cents. He's got
- 42:58he's he's doing this spock, I like, he just went like full vulcan,
- 43:01Like, mmm, this does not compete. Yeah, yeah, And
- 43:07I thought maybe it was nine nine cents a pound, which is still a
- 43:08really good deal. Yeah, that'd be a great and it said nope,
- 43:13it was ninety nine cents. And so I think I know why Trey's eyebrows
- 43:16shot up like that, because he was physically showing what I was feeling inside,
- 43:22And that is, if a turkey is ninety nine cent, is that
- 43:25the turkey you want? Right? And that's that, you know, kind
- 43:30of my thought. And I also was like, I don't think if I'm
- 43:34having to look at the sign over and over again to make sure that this
- 43:37is right. Other people will too. So I dropped my girlfriend's daughter off
- 43:43at school and I said, I'm gonna I'm gonna take some video that you
- 43:45can show your friends at lunch of these people going thats insane over. It's
- 43:52gonna be a crowd out there. There are people are gonna be fighting to
- 43:55get into the the ninety nine cent store as the doors open to get they're
- 44:00one dollar turkey. Yeah, And I was like, I'm just going for
- 44:04the blueberries, like that would be that would make my day. I'll get
- 44:07two things, the blueberries and be set for the week. You would not
- 44:09win on supermarket sweep. I would not very simple. I'm like, they
- 44:15got almond milk and blueberries. I'm like, that's what that bananas, bananas,
- 44:21blueberry strawberries. That's what goes into mind. Now, if it was
- 44:23a ninety nine cent turkey at Whole Foods or Central Market h e B.
- 44:30If they got ninety nine cent turkeys, then you're gonna have people duken it
- 44:35out trying to get their hands on those good ass turkeys. I think it
- 44:39would be anywhere that has a dollar turkey would would be would be packed.
- 44:46And I pull into the parking lot and I see nobody and I'm like,
- 44:52well, that's interesting, okay. And I walk in and the guy he's
- 44:57got the wristbands because you have to have a wristband. He gives you a
- 45:00wristband. You take that wristband to the cashier and she gives you your turkey.
- 45:06And I walk in and he goes. He was super excited. He
- 45:08goes, are you here for that? Because I'm assuming he thought there would
- 45:12be a massive crop and there was nothing like it. And he said,
- 45:16are you here for the turkey? And I go blueberries and he goes,
- 45:21oh, and you could see the joy on his face. Leave and he's
- 45:23like, yeah, sorry, man, they didn't send us any blueberries.
- 45:29I was like they didn't. I was like, well then I'll okay,
- 45:31I'll do the turkey. Sure. And he gave me the wristband and I
- 45:35went and they had a brand new thing of like mini watermelon said come through
- 45:38and those were on sale for their thing to substitute for the blueberries. So
- 45:44it was ninety nine cents. I was like, I'll get that and I'll
- 45:45have that with lunch. And I go to the counter and this lady hands
- 45:51me a frozen twenty pound Gold Harvest brand turkey. That's a big turkey,
- 46:00yes, And she goes, that'll be two dollars, and I was like,
- 46:06it was a dollar for the water mini watermelon and then a dollar for
- 46:09a twenty pound Gold Harvest turkey. And I looked it up because I had
- 46:15time. I was in the car. I was like, I looked it
- 46:17up. It's a solid brand. They had thirty pounds. This was the
- 46:21push to get their turkeys flying out the nope, I mean no pun intent,
- 46:25but flying out the door. It was to do a promotion to the
- 46:30first fifty turkeys because they had little thirty pallets of frozen turkeys ready to god
- 46:37for that day. Now, did you check the turkey for all the normal
- 46:39limbs and things like? It's not one of those that's got like three legs
- 46:44or four wings. No, no, no, no, I mean all
- 46:46it had ten fingers and toes, just like every turkey that you want.
- 46:52I don't think turkey's are supposed to have any fingers. Raj oh, Well,
- 46:57then this is a special turkey. I think we now know why the
- 47:02turkey's ninety nine cents Goldarvis, Tiny, Friend Chernobyl an exclusion of flavors Thanksgiving.
- 47:22Your family will never forget. Apologies to the ninety nine cent store if
- 47:30these are not sure, noobyl turkeys, oh man, Okay, everyone,
- 47:38have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thank you for a spinning part of it inside the
- 47:44Treehouse with us, and for coming. It is an edict from the Treehouse.
