- 1:07Speaker 2: arranged storm. We'll come through about six minutes and then
- 1:12Speaker 2: the sun will come back out in ten minutes and
- 1:15Speaker 2: then the sun. But it's out now and it's Monday.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Commanche greg has on his New York Nick shirt, the
- 1:21Speaker 2: bad producer upset about the penny and Big Kenny. The
- 1:24Speaker 2: funny man himself is sincerely worried about his wife leaving
- 1:30Speaker 2: him for the poor boy. All that has happened this
- 1:34Speaker 2: morning all that. We get all the big things in sports,
- 1:40Speaker 2: like the NHL Stanley Cup, the Knicks, UFC two fifty,
- 1:48Speaker 2: get all that big Kenny who and the penny we're
- 1:52Speaker 2: stealing here on this penny, the bad producer wants dollar
- 1:55Speaker 2: general and the general dollar because this, like a lot
- 2:01Speaker 2: of them dollar stot to keep the penny. He wanted
- 2:08Speaker 2: to put the pressure on the bargain basement place to
- 2:12Speaker 2: keep the penny rolling. I was just trying to keep
- 2:15Speaker 2: cash alive. He on the penny, I tell you, but
- 2:21Speaker 2: we're gonna rock and roll the deck the church finger,
- 2:25Speaker 2: the old famous church finger from the eighties. Let me
- 2:30Speaker 2: see it, big kenny, okay, Deacon Deacon Johnson, I.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Just want to say in the Johnson Brothers defense, upset
- 2:37Speaker 3: by his wife leaving for the pool boy, he just
- 2:39Speaker 3: got questions like why is there a pool boy here
- 2:42Speaker 3: and they don't have a pool, And why is the
- 2:45Speaker 3: dude's shirt.
- 2:46Speaker 2: With why his shirt?
- 2:48Speaker 6: All?
- 2:48Speaker 2: I asked you why shirt? Of why he ain't got
- 2:51Speaker 2: no heat?
- 2:52Speaker 3: Come on the bicycle, who come to clean the pool
- 2:54Speaker 3: on the bicycle put their shirt off.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Hey man, it's a tough economy.
- 3:00Speaker 3: That two jobs y'all leaning on it because he said
- 3:02Speaker 3: something like that, you got to have two jobs.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Two jobs. That guys had a good weekend. Awesome weekend.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Oh yeah, weekend. Ye, I see the mania. Eyes is clear.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Oh producer stomach is.
- 3:18Speaker 3: His eyes clear, which to me says boring weekend? Boom boom,
- 3:23Speaker 3: I use eye drops. Oh okay, he dilated. Right, Okay,
- 3:27Speaker 3: I'm about to say the game is to be sold.
- 3:31Speaker 2: But what the weekend? In sports? It started all off
- 3:35Speaker 2: when you talk about the New York Nick's first title
- 3:39Speaker 2: since nineteen seventy three. I did a little research just
- 3:43Speaker 2: to put you into mind. We're gonna talk a lot Nick,
- 3:45Speaker 2: especially in this this first hour. But I went to
- 3:49Speaker 2: see what was the top songs in nineteen seventy three.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Now this is bill Board Hot one hundred single. So
- 3:58Speaker 2: Billboard existed in.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Nineteen nineteen seventy three. Round the fifties, Okay.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Tie a yellow ribbon, Round Tree, Tony Orlando and Dawn.
- 4:13Speaker 2: The number two songs that year was Bad Bad, Lee,
- 4:18Speaker 2: Roy Brown, Jim Croachey, the BT, badest man in the.
- 4:23Speaker 3: Whole damn town, Bad than all can come mean. Then
- 4:28Speaker 3: at the jun God Dog Kids, Continental got kids.
- 4:35Speaker 2: You gotta realize something man and he had Kenny was
- 4:39Speaker 2: already doing light weight arm Robert.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Lightweight though I'm saying it was just a little tough
- 4:46Speaker 3: chuck it under the coat. It was just chucking under
- 4:48Speaker 3: the coat. I ain't had no weapons or nothing.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Man.
- 4:51Speaker 3: You see what I'm saying. It was seventy three, so uh,
- 4:55Speaker 3: let's see what else. Yeah, I'm saying I was six
- 4:57Speaker 3: years old.
- 4:58Speaker 7: I was.
- 4:58Speaker 2: That was bluffing. Number three was ROBERTA Flax killing me
- 5:05Speaker 2: softly with his song. Four was Let's Get It On
- 5:11Speaker 2: by Marvin Gay. Five that year was My Love Paul McCartney,
- 5:17Speaker 2: and Wing Wow was number five.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Five.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Just to round out the top ten, here why Me
- 5:26Speaker 2: by Chris Christofferson, Crocodile Rock by Elton John, will It
- 5:34Speaker 2: Go Round in Circles, Billy Preston, You're Sylvain Carly Simon,
- 5:41Speaker 2: and Touch Me in the Morning, Anna Ross. Those were
- 5:45Speaker 2: the top ten songs. The last time the New York
- 5:48Speaker 2: Niko Bokers won the championship. Three of Us was born
- 5:55Speaker 2: COMANCHI hadn't been orchestrated yet, but plans had been decided
- 6:04Speaker 2: that they were going to bring in to the planet.
- 6:07Speaker 8: I think my mom had just joined the Army.
- 6:14Speaker 2: So the Knicks. And before we talk about the Knicks,
- 6:17Speaker 2: first thing comes to mind. As I always ask you, guys,
- 6:22Speaker 2: I'm very disappointed because neither of the three of you
- 6:25Speaker 2: have ever given me a true answer that I can
- 6:29Speaker 2: actually put in a box and put this away. Why
- 6:34Speaker 2: is there always destruction with winning? Why do we always
- 6:42Speaker 2: see the couches burning, arrest, shattering of car windows, destruction
- 6:49Speaker 2: of stores? What part of winning brings out the criminal
- 7:02Speaker 2: side of people? All right, Oh, so we're still back
- 7:11Speaker 2: to where nobody is ever.
- 7:14Speaker 8: Research is But I I don't know, you know what
- 7:19Speaker 8: I'm saying. We're a release of all this stress and
- 7:22Speaker 8: this strategy and angst.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Human nature is more set to be I lose, like
- 7:33Speaker 2: the Spurs is supposed to be mad. I'm supposed to
- 7:37Speaker 2: be losing in San Antonio. And we lose, and I
- 7:40Speaker 2: pick up the garbage can and throw it into the
- 7:42Speaker 2: cupcake window because that's.
- 7:44Speaker 3: What goes with it would make conventional sense. But this
- 7:48Speaker 3: is the thing, This is reverse.
- 7:50Speaker 2: I win. So I want to destroy you.
- 7:54Speaker 3: You said that we would we we we were going
- 7:57Speaker 3: to research and so you know, like I'm a method actor.
- 7:59Speaker 3: I got into character and I got with the people
- 8:03Speaker 3: and after the wind, I'm out there running and I'm excited,
- 8:07Speaker 3: and I took my shirt off and then I looked
- 8:09Speaker 3: to the right and the dude started a fire, and
- 8:12Speaker 3: that didn't make much sense to me at.
- 8:13Speaker 2: The time, and I was thinking, why is he doing that?
- 8:16Speaker 3: But I tried to go with him, and then some
- 8:18Speaker 3: dude was like, yeah, we won, and he picked up
- 8:20Speaker 3: a garbage can and got ready to throw it through
- 8:22Speaker 3: the police window. And I thought, you know what, I'm
- 8:24Speaker 3: gonna go home. That's what I want. I'm gonna go
- 8:27Speaker 3: to the house because I don't I don't remember quite
- 8:29Speaker 3: celebrating in a way that would get me put in prison.
- 8:32Speaker 2: That don't seem like a joyous occasion to me.
- 8:35Speaker 3: So I was I did my research, but I still
- 8:38Speaker 3: am baffled. I don't know how we get there.
- 8:40Speaker 9: And you think about just that when was the first
- 8:44Speaker 9: known time to when it when that part of the
- 8:50Speaker 9: celebration started, because at some point in time it used
- 8:52Speaker 9: to be the celebrations were that wasn't a part of it,
- 8:56Speaker 9: Just like when they tearing down the gold posters. Have
- 8:58Speaker 9: that always been like that, why would you tear down.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Your own goal post?
- 9:02Speaker 3: But do you remember with the question that was the
- 9:05Speaker 3: the what I mean was a destruction and we could
- 9:08Speaker 3: kind of give that a pass because I'm been at
- 9:11Speaker 3: the venue in the game, but out in Marietta. What
- 9:18Speaker 3: that got to do with? Yeah, that's why I got
- 9:21Speaker 3: to do it. Why did you throw a rock through
- 9:25Speaker 3: the window? Mariotte of New Yorkers here say, Okay, there
- 9:29Speaker 3: we go, my bad bad.
- 9:31Speaker 2: It still does not answer why does destruction go along?
- 9:39Speaker 2: Excuse me with victory? I'm still And that was the
- 9:43Speaker 2: first thing because I looked up and as soon as
- 9:45Speaker 2: it was over, you saw reports of I think that
- 9:49Speaker 2: just that night fifty six to sixty people arrested. And
- 9:54Speaker 2: these these aren't make up arrest these are there was
- 9:57Speaker 2: a dozen police officers tax throwing stuff thrown at I
- 10:03Speaker 2: don't know what the Knicks winning has to do with
- 10:06Speaker 2: you deciding to pick up an apple and throw it
- 10:10Speaker 2: at the police. Oh, you know, you exactly don't play,
- 10:13Speaker 2: you know, man, I was just getting this good overtime.
- 10:16Speaker 2: It's probably that's all you're doing. You're just getting over time.
- 10:20Speaker 2: It's okay, next for life, and now you down needing
- 10:25Speaker 2: some bail. That's how you spent the rest of your
- 10:29Speaker 2: night right, and I can without no bail. I can't
- 10:33Speaker 2: call nobody out in the street phone.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Everybody having fun won't take your call. Looking at it
- 10:40Speaker 3: in the back of that's probably about that, because you're
- 10:44Speaker 3: gonna take me about six hours to get to the precinct.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you're right. I gotta let all these people leave,
- 10:50Speaker 2: but I sold once again, we're gonna leave without an
- 10:53Speaker 2: answer of why destruction team should go with victory.
- 11:00Speaker 3: I think drugs and alcohol have part to do with it,
- 11:03Speaker 3: because that's the only thing make destruction after victory makes
- 11:06Speaker 3: sense to people like you know what, I've been drinking
- 11:09Speaker 3: nineteen forty two ounce beers all night and we won.
- 11:15Speaker 3: You know, the only thing missing from this night getting arrested.
- 11:21Speaker 3: The only thing this night don't have is me. But
- 11:24Speaker 3: that should have been the thought process. I do not
- 11:26Speaker 3: want to get arrested over that.
- 11:28Speaker 2: You typically would think you typically don't break your loved
- 11:33Speaker 2: one's window. Enjoy depends on what you break it up
- 11:39Speaker 2: in sorrow. Usually if she breaks your heart or he
- 11:44Speaker 2: breaks your heart, you bust the window, but you don't
- 11:47Speaker 2: typically do that in joy. Love we rarely get reports
- 11:57Speaker 2: of that kind of you. The other way, I agree
- 12:02Speaker 2: join to be the host. Clall in jail, why she
- 12:05Speaker 2: ain't jail? Love love, girl love. We ain't got to
- 12:10Speaker 2: be displaying.
- 12:12Speaker 10: We got to school with what you said, Joy and
- 12:14Speaker 10: the pain.
- 12:15Speaker 2: We'll be back. Talk about our man Jalen Brunts and
- 12:18Speaker 2: he in jail too, big body Bruns and big body
- 12:22Speaker 2: big body Bruns Collegeponship. That's his name, that's his nick.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Big Body Brunts, Big Body Bruns. We'll be back right
- 12:31Speaker 2: more of the Sports Show stand.
- 12:34Speaker 11: Out like it and make more noise than them of
- 12:37Speaker 11: a rap chi, No gimmicks, just pure adrenaline, raw lyrics,
- 12:42Speaker 11: incredible beast, don't.
- 12:43Speaker 12: Mean them, don't go Alwayne Born of the Sports john

- 16:00Speaker 8: It's it on the I think it's next Monday.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah, usually about mid mid June is when it
- 16:06Speaker 2: officially okay. He states that it is summer. Summer solstice
- 16:11Speaker 2: is what they're calling it, isn't it? Yes?
- 16:13Speaker 8: On Sunday, Yeah, on Sunday fathers.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Okay. They always split Father's Day with something else, but
- 16:20Speaker 2: a lot of fathers, uh will be celebrating, Uh, this
- 16:24Speaker 2: Knicks Championship. Look forward to getting a lot of Nick.
- 16:28Speaker 2: It's easy if you're a Nick fan to know what
- 16:31Speaker 2: to give granddad and and uh daddy. Easy shopping. Yeah,
- 16:38Speaker 2: can't go wrong last time both. You ain't go wrong
- 16:43Speaker 2: to walk in with a Nick anything, anything and just
- 16:47Speaker 2: get it to them.
- 16:47Speaker 8: Does it need to say champions or just Knicks?
- 16:49Speaker 2: They say Nicks Nicks because you know what it is.
- 16:54Speaker 10: You can bring them the grill cover for your hands.
- 16:58Speaker 2: You already know what it is. They need to stay
- 17:00Speaker 2: world champions. I got some Nick Jordan's I was gonna
- 17:04Speaker 2: wear just to wear them for the fourth of July,
- 17:07Speaker 2: just to wear them to wear you see. But the
- 17:10Speaker 2: m v P and the most humble I will say,
- 17:14Speaker 2: m v P that we've had since Joe Dumarsh. Wow,
- 17:20Speaker 2: greater of that since Joe Dumars. That's that's that's humble,
- 17:25Speaker 2: the most humble that I This boy shot can't speak
- 17:27Speaker 2: for you three y'all grown men. Old man ain't gonna
- 17:30Speaker 2: get no older, no, no, no growner than grown. That
- 17:34Speaker 2: was just old men right now. Man, let me seeing
- 17:37Speaker 2: you the ARP card ands soon you be mad. We're
- 17:40Speaker 2: you gonna rip the first three. You're gonna rip the
- 17:42Speaker 2: first copy he's up. Then you're gonna check into that
- 17:45Speaker 2: hotel about forty about forty eight, it just started like
- 17:48Speaker 2: wait then you know that, you know it's coming up,
- 17:52Speaker 2: and you're gonna rip them up at first, and then
- 17:55Speaker 2: when you finally get you're gonna got a deal. They
- 17:58Speaker 2: got everyone standing in the.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Crack a barn like y'all take a They gonna be
- 18:05Speaker 3: like we should do, and you're gonna pull it out
- 18:08Speaker 3: and that being gonna go from eighty three sixty two
- 18:10Speaker 3: to sixty one dollars and you're gonna be like, lookout,
- 18:14Speaker 3: young man, excuse me, their youngster.
- 18:17Speaker 2: But big body Jalen Brunson, the young superstar leading this
- 18:21Speaker 2: team a couple of years ago. When you talk about
- 18:24Speaker 2: that humbleness, he just reminds me of Joe Madumars. A
- 18:29Speaker 2: guy that just wants to go down to the basketball
- 18:32Speaker 2: court and ball. That's all they want to do. He's
- 18:40Speaker 2: not too much a word about who got picked, the
- 18:42Speaker 2: whole team assembling some great team. I just want a ball,
- 18:48Speaker 2: that's all. Who got the ball? Pick up? Just let's go.
- 18:53Speaker 2: That's how he balls, no flash, just all game and
- 18:57Speaker 2: just the most humble guy. Just reminded me of a
- 19:00Speaker 2: Joe Dumars when I thought about it now, same as
- 19:06Speaker 2: a Tim Duncan, but different positions. I'm going by guards
- 19:10Speaker 2: to translate Joe Dumars played that way, but ending forty
- 19:13Speaker 2: five points Game five, just willing his team UH to victory.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Won the MVP. A young man who two years ago
- 19:22Speaker 2: decided he wanted to be a nick This is what
- 19:26Speaker 2: he dreamed of. Taking less money would bring him. He'd
- 19:33Speaker 2: be the King of New York. So it never buy
- 19:34Speaker 2: another slice. Great city, never to have to buy a
- 19:38Speaker 2: slice of pizza. You might get fired for charging him.
- 19:43Speaker 2: When I walk in and the manager of the boss man.
- 19:46Speaker 2: See did you charge Jalen Brunson he got.
- 19:53Speaker 3: The wall.
- 19:56Speaker 2: He walks It was with the six meats. It cost
- 20:01Speaker 2: us like three bucks slice. It says free slice for
- 20:05Speaker 2: this man.
- 20:06Speaker 3: I thought I didn't know that meets the pictures A
- 20:13Speaker 3: pepperoni was what nobody said me, Supreme, Can you say
- 20:18Speaker 3: he just took Eli and Jesus places the king of
- 20:22Speaker 3: New York getting the free slices now because he is
- 20:24Speaker 3: that face?
- 20:25Speaker 16: Now?
- 20:26Speaker 2: Well, well I thought I had that same thought. But
- 20:29Speaker 2: I don't know that they ever embraced Eli as the king. Yeah,
- 20:34Speaker 2: for some reason, that's something about how they celebrated him,
- 20:38Speaker 2: But they didn't give him the Derrek Jesus okay treatment.
- 20:42Speaker 2: They just kind of like act like he didn't win
- 20:45Speaker 2: two Super bowls'dy. Part of it is they play in
- 20:50Speaker 2: New Jersey, so it's not no no, no, no no,
- 20:55Speaker 2: it's the giants, come on. I think that because they
- 20:59Speaker 2: don't maybe because because he in New Jersey. No, I
- 21:02Speaker 2: think Eli. You know, he kept talking his shirt in
- 21:07Speaker 2: talking about some bush beans, and he just wouldn't give up.
- 21:11Speaker 8: He just wouldn't give up that face too.
- 21:13Speaker 2: He wouldn't give up any of his Southern rooms, right,
- 21:16Speaker 2: you know there had them a money black sweaters and
- 21:20Speaker 2: cheter Manhattan. He embraced it.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Eli looks Schenectedy, you know what I'm saying. He looks
- 21:27Speaker 3: like he's still out there waking shoes. Yeah, that's he's
- 21:31Speaker 3: one of them guys. But uh, yeah, he was still
- 21:34Speaker 3: drinking regular old but like, yeah, there they're asking for
- 21:40Speaker 3: his with a glass that's New York. What do you
- 21:44Speaker 3: mean you're just gonna drink it out of the can?
- 21:46Speaker 3: Did you just pop that and put that up in
- 21:47Speaker 3: your mouth?
- 21:48Speaker 2: Your mouth? That's not how we do it. Derek needs
- 21:51Speaker 2: a glass for a beard that none of us have
- 21:53Speaker 2: ever heard of. It's from the French outs and it's
- 21:56Speaker 2: not it's not a mug either. Its cold last with
- 22:00Speaker 2: a with a whole bunch of stuff on that don't
- 22:03Speaker 2: even go with the beer.
- 22:05Speaker 3: And she's got sardine crackers and sheese next to the beer.
- 22:12Speaker 2: But Jayn Bronson from that his dad. They just embody.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Uh and and I think sometimes we forget and guys
- 22:20Speaker 2: have done this where you just want to you don't understand. Uh,
- 22:25Speaker 2: you can't take it all with you. You can be
- 22:27Speaker 2: making a dollar amount based on your personality. He comes
- 22:32Speaker 2: off like a guy that he wasn't trying to spend
- 22:35Speaker 2: every dollar he got. So it was okay with not
- 22:38Speaker 2: getting every dollar, but he has to have a surreal
- 22:42Speaker 2: feeling right now of where he has put himself as
- 22:46Speaker 2: the king of New York. His style just reminded you
- 22:50Speaker 2: of those teams in the nineties that you thought he
- 22:54Speaker 2: was playing that kind of basketball. It wasn't this new
- 22:57Speaker 2: Steph Curry style. It wasn't that kind and h it
- 23:00Speaker 2: was old. He played like he was playing at the ruck.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I was today years old when I realized his dad
- 23:08Speaker 2: played Rick. Yeah for the Knicks. Yeah, played for a
- 23:13Speaker 2: lot of people. Oh, this was This was a complete nepotism,
- 23:17Speaker 2: And y'all don't like. I'm sorry, y'all don't like now,
- 23:21Speaker 2: dare you rich? It was teach your son. That was
- 23:24Speaker 2: the selling point. Teaching your son how to play basketball
- 23:28Speaker 2: and leaning the Knicks.
- 23:29Speaker 8: That was a selling point to get him to the Knicks,
- 23:32Speaker 8: to get to get Jalen Brunton to the Knicks. Okay, well,
- 23:35Speaker 8: hire your dad as an assistant coach.
- 23:37Speaker 2: A lot of a lot of people do that. We'll
- 23:40Speaker 2: be back more to sports after that.
- 23:49Speaker 12: In my head, John Boy Wayne Born of the sports

- 24:07Speaker 5: us kids and our cell phones. Distracted driving was the
- 24:10Speaker 5: cause of more than three thousand deaths in twenty twenty two.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Come on, we're smarter than this. Let's put down the
- 24:17Speaker 2: phones and focus on the roads.

- 26:27Speaker 11: H hey look here, look here. First of all, I
- 26:35Speaker 11: want to welcome all y'all. B I'm your police to
- 26:39Speaker 11: the players club.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Tell you how much don't know how to act? What
- 26:45Speaker 2: about this sports shop show? I'm the sports shop Wayne Gamdee.
- 26:49Speaker 2: We were talking about the King of New York. We're
- 26:52Speaker 2: gonna jump back on that. In Justine se second Jalen
- 26:55Speaker 2: Bronson the Knicks winning uh this year. I felt like
- 27:00Speaker 2: in the East when Jason Tatum got hurt year before,
- 27:05Speaker 2: I knew he wasn't gonna get healthy enough to be
- 27:10Speaker 2: able to get the Celtics back to the championship. I
- 27:18Speaker 2: really saw the Knicks and the Calves being the two
- 27:23Speaker 2: teams and that's what it ended up being that. You know,
- 27:28Speaker 2: as far as Jason a healthy Jason Tatum a whole
- 27:32Speaker 2: season with the Celtics, you had to feel like they
- 27:36Speaker 2: the Detroit Pistons kind of came. They were more of
- 27:40Speaker 2: a dark course and now you see what they got,
- 27:43Speaker 2: so they got to be dealt with going forward. But
- 27:45Speaker 2: you didn't really see what they was doing to be there.
- 27:49Speaker 2: But Jalen Brons go ahead, bad producers, now, I was
- 27:52Speaker 2: gonna say.
- 27:52Speaker 9: And also Indiana with Hollibront, they still got pieces. And
- 27:58Speaker 9: that whole East is just just the teams. You know,
- 28:00Speaker 9: I don't see nothing, and you'll see if they can.
- 28:04Speaker 2: They got rid of the big center. Well in terms
- 28:08Speaker 2: of miles, in.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Terms of at the beginning of the season, they're going
- 28:12Speaker 3: to be a problem, right they might have emerged like that.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Detroit was kind of like, yeah, they and then whoa,
- 28:19Speaker 3: we didn't know that. But I never really expected Indiana.
- 28:22Speaker 3: I was surprised. Well, just like I said, they were
- 28:26Speaker 3: around the last couple of years, they've been there, and.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Yeah, but they broke up that team.
- 28:32Speaker 3: It's one or two on the top of well, yeah,
- 28:35Speaker 3: then there were a lot of injuries. That's why they
- 28:37Speaker 3: were now with it was with Jason Tatum is I
- 28:43Speaker 3: can't remember did he re injure himself this season? Yes,
- 28:47Speaker 3: during the during this playoff run he lost that Game seven?
- 28:51Speaker 3: That right, And I was because the question was is
- 28:57Speaker 3: once he's healthy. I don't know when he'll be healthy,
- 29:00Speaker 3: but once he's healthy, if they still have that same squad,
- 29:03Speaker 3: will they be the ones that give the Knicks the problem?
- 29:06Speaker 3: But based on how the Knicks just played this last series,
- 29:10Speaker 3: they're going to be an issue for quite some time.
- 29:13Speaker 3: In my opinion, I think that a lot of people
- 29:18Speaker 3: I just saw a headline that said wipe out of Wemby.
- 29:22Speaker 3: And I've always championed the effect, the mental effect of
- 29:31Speaker 3: having kind of owned a team, like, no matter how
- 29:35Speaker 3: far we take the lead, we always got to worry
- 29:38Speaker 3: about them. And that's always in the back of their mind.
- 29:41Speaker 3: And that's with every team they've dealt with. So no
- 29:44Speaker 3: matter who New York plays, they feel formidable. Hey, bro,
- 29:48Speaker 3: we never out with this team, no matter who it is.
- 29:51Speaker 3: And that team, well, now this is the thing, Tom Thibodeaux.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Just took this team to the Eastern Finals last year, right,
- 30:01Speaker 3: so this is not a surprise team. That's why I
- 30:03Speaker 3: said going into the season, I have them in that
- 30:05Speaker 3: top three in the East, and then once Jason Tatum
- 30:08Speaker 3: was hurt, it just became a top two. And those
- 30:11Speaker 3: are the two teams that played each other, right, But
- 30:14Speaker 3: you put Jason Tatum in a healthy Celtics team, they
- 30:17Speaker 3: jumped back into the mix. I think the Knicks and Wemby.
- 30:22Speaker 3: You know, they led for seventy percent of these games,
- 30:26Speaker 3: and what came into play they didn't have a veteran
- 30:31Speaker 3: that down the street that they actually was putting on
- 30:35Speaker 3: the court. They and so they lost games like twenty
- 30:39Speaker 3: two year olds, do you know they don't have that,
- 30:43Speaker 3: don't have that little feeling yet. Round they'll learn from that.
- 30:46Speaker 3: They'll go into the offseason.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Uh no, knock on Cornett, but they'll find some way
- 30:51Speaker 2: to find somebody a little more viable. For Wemby, I
- 30:55Speaker 2: thought they didn't make a good adjustment to attacking brunts sometimes,
- 31:00Speaker 2: like once you get on a run. You know, there
- 31:02Speaker 2: was a couple of times running, go get the ball
- 31:04Speaker 2: out of his hand, make somebody else do something. On
- 31:07Speaker 2: the court, they kind of just kept playing. But they
- 31:09Speaker 2: are a great defensive team. So it's almost like, how
- 31:12Speaker 2: do I break my tendencies when that's what got.
- 31:15Speaker 5: Me this far?
- 31:17Speaker 2: You know, so you can't always you want to hold
- 31:20Speaker 2: it in against it. But McDonald's said, a big Mac,
- 31:23Speaker 2: they don't. They don't sell the whopper like you know
- 31:27Speaker 2: you'd be wanting them to make. I can't make you
- 31:29Speaker 2: a walk. So we don't even have flame bro this man,
- 31:35Speaker 2: this big Mac. If you just flag hold another business.
- 31:38Speaker 2: So you know, Bronson I just kept getting off and
- 31:42Speaker 2: willing his team, even in games where guys had bad games,
- 31:45Speaker 2: and you could see the scariness of the Spurs that
- 31:51Speaker 2: they were playing with a bunch of guys that would
- 31:53Speaker 2: be seniors in college and was leading and just losing
- 31:58Speaker 2: there with about seven minutes, they just couldn't. They were
- 32:01Speaker 2: getting winded, they were getting tired. This is the first
- 32:04Speaker 2: time they've been this deep. These guys ain't played this long,
- 32:09Speaker 2: but they're focused to even be in there. Their top
- 32:12Speaker 2: three players a rookie. The top three is women in
- 32:17Speaker 2: year three, Harper in year one. Their biggest problem is
- 32:23Speaker 2: like the okay, see, they ain't gonna be able to
- 32:25Speaker 2: pay everybody. They got to figure out they got to
- 32:26Speaker 2: start paying womby now. So the biggest thing in the
- 32:29Speaker 2: off season, we just tore up that deal and Supermax
- 32:35Speaker 2: and the same thing. They got to get on the schedule.
- 32:37Speaker 2: What about you got Champagne and all kind of guys.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Harper's rookie.
- 32:43Speaker 9: When I'm saying what when I say what about Harper,
- 32:46Speaker 9: I'm saying with him and the day around Fox because Castle,
- 32:49Speaker 9: I don't know if you heard the propressler he said
- 32:51Speaker 9: he felt like Harper felt like he should have played,
- 32:54Speaker 9: could have did more, had more better of a chance,
- 32:56Speaker 9: could have helped the team more. And uh, I'm just saying,
- 33:00Speaker 9: you got you paying Fox fifty million up somewhat like that.
- 33:03Speaker 3: So and then you said you got it to go
- 33:06Speaker 3: ahead and get Wimby. But Harper is that guy they
- 33:11Speaker 3: gonna it's gonna be the company I did.
- 33:13Speaker 8: He was a rookie, right, Yeah, they're still gonna retool though.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Because he's a rookie. So I got a first and
- 33:19Speaker 2: foremost see if he can back that up, And rookies
- 33:25Speaker 2: are don't understand what you want me to do with
- 33:27Speaker 2: him here a rookie. No, I'm just just just looking
- 33:30Speaker 2: at the dynamics.
- 33:31Speaker 9: You talking about the money, and they're young and just
- 33:33Speaker 9: they bought Fox in, but he was being criticized the
- 33:36Speaker 9: whole time.
- 33:36Speaker 3: So this is Fox's second year and I'm saying, how
- 33:40Speaker 3: long are these contracts?
- 33:41Speaker 2: He's India contracts and what four years? Five years?
- 33:44Speaker 3: And yeah, four or five years. So I'm saying, as
- 33:48Speaker 3: a rookie, we got it minimum two more years. We
- 33:51Speaker 3: start getting serious understand about what we got to understand
- 33:54Speaker 3: that too.
- 33:54Speaker 9: But I'm saying that agreeing that he that they are
- 33:58Speaker 9: a great team with Harper, they're gonna have to sooner
- 34:01Speaker 9: or later with Fox with the contract they So you just.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Want to talk about the Aaron Fox.
- 34:06Speaker 10: No, I don't want to really talk about him. I
- 34:08Speaker 10: just wanted to say when you brought up the money part,
- 34:11Speaker 10: that just clicked in my head.
- 34:13Speaker 2: I was just thinking, Oh, they're gonna have to but
- 34:14Speaker 2: you brought the Iron Fox name up, they ain't gonna
- 34:16Speaker 2: do anything. I don't even know the Iron Fox's content
- 34:21Speaker 2: the point guard. It might be up in a minute.
- 34:23Speaker 9: He was bought in to be the point guard, and
- 34:26Speaker 9: he's been like personally the goat, like to the point
- 34:28Speaker 9: that he's been able to when j R. Smith did
- 34:33Speaker 9: the bonehead incident, everybody said in the game when Fox
- 34:37Speaker 9: went and tried to duck and the lad up. He's
- 34:39Speaker 9: been like the scapegoat shorter as he's the reason why.
- 34:44Speaker 2: I don't do the Scapegoat. I mean because honestly, honestly,
- 34:48Speaker 2: if we thought it great finals young team that just
- 34:51Speaker 2: could not close the gate. The Aaron Fox. We find
- 34:54Speaker 2: out after two years that we got a guy down
- 34:57Speaker 2: the pipeline that in two years we can easily next
- 35:00Speaker 2: year we can easily pitch Fox or let him continue
- 35:05Speaker 2: to play. First of all, as I was telling the
- 35:08Speaker 2: people that I was watching with, somebody got to be
- 35:10Speaker 2: the sixth man, So somebody got to be Jamal Crawford
- 35:13Speaker 2: and somebody got to be Lou Williams. Y'all keep wanting
- 35:15Speaker 2: to put everybody on the court, then who is going
- 35:18Speaker 2: to bed Aaron Fox is not Lou Williams. Harper has
- 35:23Speaker 2: the Lou Williams effect. Go get me thirty. I actually
- 35:29Speaker 2: sent you in there for this. Everybody know that when
- 35:32Speaker 2: you go to check in had come to points. So
- 35:35Speaker 2: if I put him out there, who is going to
- 35:38Speaker 2: do that for me?
- 35:38Speaker 8: On the bench, they had the sixth man of the year,
- 35:42Speaker 8: but he was really unplayable as far as because of
- 35:46Speaker 8: the matchup, like what he does best wouldn't work. So
- 35:51Speaker 8: Kelton Johnson barely played in the finals. I thought the
- 35:55Speaker 8: Spurs did a great job, did they not? By years
- 36:00Speaker 8: three of Winby and Castle? In this second year they
- 36:03Speaker 8: made the finals. What's to stop them for the next
- 36:07Speaker 8: eight years?
- 36:07Speaker 2: Now? Yeah?
- 36:10Speaker 8: I mean they switch ahead coaches, they'll be they'll be fine.
- 36:13Speaker 3: And that's the thing. I switched coaches in the in
- 36:16Speaker 3: the season and still got there. I think a lot
- 36:19Speaker 3: of times people seem to negate the fact that to
- 36:24Speaker 3: accomplish great many of these things. They always talk about
- 36:27Speaker 3: the experience. You need experience. You need experience, and then
- 36:30Speaker 3: when that experience prevails, it's like the inexperienced team should
- 36:35Speaker 3: have known better. They didn't know what they didn't know
- 36:38Speaker 3: in that moment, you know what I mean, Like you said,
- 36:40Speaker 3: they're a young team. They just got here. But most
- 36:43Speaker 3: people were disappointed because you should have Some people feel
- 36:46Speaker 3: like they should have been able to figure it out
- 36:49Speaker 3: how to not lose the lead. We're not talking about
- 36:51Speaker 3: people who were dominated from the beginning. We're talking about
- 36:54Speaker 3: each and every first quarter. You had a double digit
- 36:58Speaker 3: lead and you couldn't fix the hole in the bucket.
- 37:00Speaker 3: He kept trying to feel the bucket up, but it
- 37:02Speaker 3: didn't fix the hole in the bucket. And somehow there
- 37:04Speaker 3: should have been an adjustment, as you said, run to
- 37:07Speaker 3: the ball, grab some trip somebody. I mean, come on, man,
- 37:11Speaker 3: we lost the thirty point lead with the Falcons. Now
- 37:15Speaker 3: people just feel like with Wimby, No, that would be
- 37:18Speaker 3: the bills and the spoilers back in the day, back.
- 37:23Speaker 2: In the day.
- 37:23Speaker 3: And all I'm saying is people seemed to believe that
- 37:27Speaker 3: once they had that lead, there was no way that
- 37:29Speaker 3: should have been lost, especially with a phenomenon like Wimby
- 37:33Speaker 3: is the leader, and the rest of them dudes, he
- 37:35Speaker 3: isn't a lely and the rest of these dudes at
- 37:37Speaker 3: the very least are mutants, you know what I'm saying.
- 37:40Speaker 3: So it just surprised a lot of people that not
- 37:44Speaker 3: only did they lose, but they lost, but you picked
- 37:48Speaker 3: the Knicks, Yes, and six, I just picked the Knicks.
- 37:52Speaker 3: I honestly would have liked to have said they were
- 37:54Speaker 3: gonna sweep, but I didn't believe that.
- 37:56Speaker 2: So at someone the Knicks is going to win. I
- 37:57Speaker 2: knew they just didn't know. You just didn't know the
- 38:00Speaker 2: direction of the movie, right, We just we just did win.
- 38:04Speaker 2: We didn't expect the dragon did the Aaron Fox in
- 38:08Speaker 2: two years have shown that maybe he doesn't have the veteran,
- 38:11Speaker 2: maybe he's Sacramento too long. So he losing. So I
- 38:16Speaker 2: go in a new direction. It wasn't a bad thought
- 38:20Speaker 2: to grab him. But what you thought you were trying
- 38:23Speaker 2: to build, I didn't know in two years I was
- 38:27Speaker 2: gonna draft this Harper guy and see the potential he has.
- 38:32Speaker 2: So okay, we move on from the Aaron Fox. So
- 38:37Speaker 2: and then what I thought it went kind of like
- 38:45Speaker 2: I went for the Spurs because y'all went for the Knicks.
- 38:50Speaker 2: That was it.
- 38:51Speaker 3: That was it?
- 38:53Speaker 2: You just point kind of point yeah, because that day
- 38:57Speaker 2: when I asked you, both of y'all said the the
- 39:00Speaker 2: Niggs and you say they got to take the spurs.
- 39:03Speaker 2: I'm gonna go get this spray paint. Spurs suck. Okay.
- 39:07Speaker 2: I thought you found that in your heart, so I had.
- 39:10Speaker 2: I'm sorry, No, we'll be back. I want a sports
- 39:13Speaker 2: jock show right after this.
- 39:25Speaker 12: Don't Go awayne Board of the sports Josh Hill with
- 39:28Speaker 12: Wayne Dambidius coming up next.
- 39:32Speaker 15: Cats are masters at using up their nine lives, like
- 39:35Speaker 15: chasing laser pointers into walls or jumping onto high shelves.
- 39:42Speaker 15: But the one thing cats never do text while driving.
- 39:46Speaker 15: So be like a cat and protect your one and

- 41:33Speaker 2: And now back to the sports John Wayne Gandy.
- 41:46Speaker 3: It's waging.
- 41:57Speaker 20: A lot of guns so you can sit sports jaint oh,
- 42:01Speaker 20: shin't even.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Look back to the show. I'm the sports shock, Wayne Canny.
- 42:07Speaker 2: We were talking about the Knigs, the bad produce. I
- 42:10Speaker 2: want like thirty seconds of this hate that you have
- 42:14Speaker 2: for Dearn Fox, and don't say you don't have it,
- 42:18Speaker 2: because I hear it in your It's feeling over because
- 42:21Speaker 2: you keep ragging on. And I wanted to ask you
- 42:25Speaker 2: a question when I'm preparing for Harper next year? Now,
- 42:32Speaker 2: what if he doesn't have the year? What happens next year? When?
- 42:37Speaker 2: Now you don't catch me surprised because I was just
- 42:40Speaker 2: blowing off that you was a little rooky twenty years
- 42:43Speaker 2: old coming off the you know, so when there is
- 42:48Speaker 2: no leap? Now what we're having meetings about him? Now? Yes,
- 42:54Speaker 2: I mean I don't have a problem with Daron Fox.
- 42:58Speaker 9: I'm just I just deserved watching the game and listen
- 43:01Speaker 9: to the media and everybody speak on his lot of
- 43:06Speaker 9: his play that they bought him in to be that leader,
- 43:09Speaker 9: that veteran to be there with Winby. And that's the
- 43:12Speaker 9: only thing I was just trying to figure out if
- 43:13Speaker 9: you got these young players castle uh.
- 43:17Speaker 2: And how do you know, how would you measure his leadership?
- 43:20Speaker 2: How do you know his leadership wasn't part of why
- 43:23Speaker 2: they are where they at.
- 43:24Speaker 9: I'm not measuring I'm talking in a sense in the
- 43:27Speaker 9: game when they still had a chance to win the game.
- 43:28Speaker 9: We'm talking about the moment that what everyone is talking about,
- 43:31Speaker 9: dribble it out instead of trying to go and I
- 43:34Speaker 9: want to put an excamation point and dunk it.
- 43:37Speaker 2: And it's just a lot of questions, like he didn't
- 43:40Speaker 2: try to dunk the ball, he just tried to lay
- 43:41Speaker 2: it in.
- 43:43Speaker 10: But there that veteran sense is like a veteran would
- 43:46Speaker 10: have pulled him out.
- 43:47Speaker 2: And are you asserting that that moment changed the series? No,
- 43:52Speaker 2: I'm not certain that it had changed the series.
- 43:54Speaker 9: Even when they were down, when they when the team
- 43:56Speaker 9: came back, they still had a chance to win the game.
- 44:00Speaker 9: The Spurs did. That was a pivotal point. That's all
- 44:04Speaker 9: just watching the game and just listening to people as
- 44:08Speaker 9: they listen to us, and how we commentating the different
- 44:10Speaker 9: things that they saw and Charles and Chuck, I mean
- 44:14Speaker 9: Charles said.
- 44:14Speaker 2: He was I didn't. I don't listen to pregame or
- 44:17Speaker 2: how I'm talking about this is after the watch postgame.
- 44:20Speaker 3: Well, I just watched the game. Charles basically said he
- 44:22Speaker 3: was an idiot, Charles Barker. So and this is something,
- 44:27Speaker 3: this is something. This may just be me personally, but
- 44:31Speaker 3: in comedy, I rarely I always show up on time,
- 44:38Speaker 3: but I rarely stand and watch other comedian because I
- 44:42Speaker 3: don't want nothing you do, your crowd work, your ideas,
- 44:45Speaker 3: your premises, nothing to filter into my thought process and somehow,
- 44:51Speaker 3: even on accident, get regurgitated when we come here to
- 44:56Speaker 3: commentate how we feel about the sports that we watched.
- 45:01Speaker 3: I stopped when I started doing this show. I stopped
- 45:05Speaker 3: watching them shows. You tell me, you know what you
- 45:07Speaker 3: just know I'm saying. I stopped watching them at length,
- 45:11Speaker 3: like I watched the recap on a sports but but
- 45:18Speaker 3: my but how they feel about the game during the game.
- 45:23Speaker 3: I don't want none of those opinions to blend with mine,
- 45:26Speaker 3: because you're saying that I just went just gave it.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Let's but we got to stop the cross talk. I
- 45:35Speaker 3: was just as I stated, But.
- 45:37Speaker 2: I'm saying to you, when he's speaking, let him finish
- 45:40Speaker 2: in He'll let you speak. Because he said something that
- 45:43Speaker 2: triggers you to say something, you still have to hold it.
- 45:48Speaker 2: I was just wondering why you seem to have animosity
- 45:51Speaker 2: towards the Aaron Fox. Every example that you have put
- 45:56Speaker 2: in the only plays you remember are the the Aaron
- 45:58Speaker 2: Fox plays.
- 46:00Speaker 9: But then you say, you do well, Okay, let me
- 46:02Speaker 9: kill Weinby. I thought he showed immaturity. Uh that he
- 46:06Speaker 9: should have been. I think that how do you show
- 46:08Speaker 9: immaturity when you're immature? That's what I'm saying. Well, that's
- 46:12Speaker 9: what I'm the point. I'm saying that he was put
- 46:14Speaker 9: on a versus New York. He was gonna be this.
- 46:19Speaker 9: That's why a lot of people were disappointed and possibly
- 46:22Speaker 9: like thinking that he's that guy. He's ready now, like
- 46:26Speaker 9: we realize the team is still he is still ready.
- 46:28Speaker 9: He's still ready, but the team is still being development. Still,
- 46:30Speaker 9: players and other pieces come along. The other thing that
- 46:36Speaker 9: I'm what I'm saying is that we can say some
- 46:40Speaker 9: things that Weinby did. I could be like, well, he
- 46:42Speaker 9: didn't show great sportsmanship. He walked away but I'm not
- 46:45Speaker 9: doing anything like that to him. I'm not being as
- 46:47Speaker 9: y'all say the bad producer on Wenby. I just just
- 46:51Speaker 9: I see the potential in him. We just got to
- 46:53Speaker 9: quit pushing him to being. Oh the has Wenby Victor
- 46:59Speaker 9: Women command you Greg has Victor Women Yamber, the kid
- 47:07Speaker 9: from France delivered for what they said the kid from
- 47:13Speaker 9: France was gonna do so far, Yes, big Kenny. Yes,
- 47:19Speaker 9: has Victor Womben Yamber, the third year pro from France
- 47:25Speaker 9: lived up to what they said he was gonna do again.
- 47:29Speaker 2: Yes, sports shot, has Victor women Yamber, the three year
- 47:34Speaker 2: guy out of France lived up to the hype of
- 47:38Speaker 2: being the first pick of the draft, the unicorn from France. Yes,
- 47:45Speaker 2: he has. So I don't see in your example, bat producer.
- 47:50Speaker 2: You got three people where they're pushing him to be
- 47:53Speaker 2: anything other than what he has been. I would I'm
- 47:57Speaker 2: not saying. I just was giving you an example. When
- 48:00Speaker 2: the last time you've seen the first round pick this good,
- 48:04Speaker 2: this fast? Uh first it's been some time.
- 48:08Speaker 3: Although I think bad producer, what happens with a talent
- 48:13Speaker 3: like Wemby, Because his entire career they've been saying he's
- 48:17Speaker 3: a generational talent, a a almost a centennial type talent. No,
- 48:25Speaker 3: he didn't come in and say, hey, my name is
- 48:28Speaker 3: Victor the Alien women Yama.
- 48:30Speaker 2: That was us that gave him that name. Those are our.
- 48:34Speaker 10: Expectations, the expectations on it.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Have I seen some of the things that you talked about,
- 48:40Speaker 3: some of the challenges with his sportsmanship, but again his immaturity.
- 48:47Speaker 2: You trying to get this man to be mature when
- 48:50Speaker 2: he just a kid. That is that is par for
- 48:54Speaker 2: the course.
- 48:55Speaker 3: Scientifically, somebody would tell you his brain ain't even fully developed.
- 48:59Speaker 3: And you out year he's in front of the world,
- 49:02Speaker 3: but you say you want to be facing the NBA.
- 49:04Speaker 3: But then he speaks of the media, he has said it, well,
- 49:09Speaker 3: this is in his third year, his first time ever. Ever,
- 49:14Speaker 3: some people play twenty years in the NBA never make
- 49:17Speaker 3: it to the championship. In his third year, in his twenties,
- 49:20Speaker 3: he made it and he lost when all of that
- 49:23Speaker 3: pressure was on him, and he handled it in a
- 49:26Speaker 3: way that you say he shouldn't have. You think he
- 49:30Speaker 3: could have done better. All I'm saying is this, that's
- 49:34Speaker 3: not for you to decide. The Sports Jock show right
- 49:39Speaker 3: after this, the yo Wcelo.
- 49:41Speaker 2: North down here to pay Miss scorch It.

- 49:47Speaker 2: Grit spelled on you. You've been fighting with now I've
- 49:50Speaker 2: been never squelled on you.

- 51:29Speaker 2: And now back to the sports John Wayne Gandy.
- 51:36Speaker 23: Center Court on Sports News Gossip blah blah, blah blah blah.
- 51:52Speaker 2: It's just welcome back to this sport Shock Sha, the
- 51:57Speaker 2: sport Shock, Wayne Candy, some honorable men, some fan favorites
- 52:01Speaker 2: from that nineteen seventy three To go along with that
- 52:04Speaker 2: top ten list, Midnight Train to Georgia was one of
- 52:09Speaker 2: the top hits of nineteen seventy three. The Rolling Stones
- 52:14Speaker 2: Angie Superstition by Stevie Wonder was also part of that
- 52:24Speaker 2: If you believe and think that you don't understand three.
- 52:27Speaker 2: We were talking about big Body Jalen Bronson bringing home
- 52:30Speaker 2: the championship, the MVP for the New York Knicks, we
- 52:34Speaker 2: were talking about the Spurs. There has Wemby three years.
- 52:39Speaker 2: Seems like you take a team that was not doing
- 52:41Speaker 2: anything to the finals in three years. It is something
- 52:46Speaker 2: to truly feel like the arrival of Wemby is there
- 52:51Speaker 2: the bad producer wants to And that's one thing y'all
- 52:54Speaker 2: were discussing. Should these interviews be the next day, to
- 53:04Speaker 2: interviews with athletes be the next day, because I think
- 53:06Speaker 2: sometimes when y'all aren't realizing Wemby's twenty one, what he
- 53:11Speaker 2: just did, it's hard for me to digest for any
- 53:18Speaker 2: athlete in the seventeen minutes before you rush in the door.
- 53:25Speaker 2: I was watching the captain of the Carolina Hurricanes trying
- 53:32Speaker 2: to be interviewed last night. Carolina Hurricanes NHL Stanley Cup champion,
- 53:38Speaker 2: second time they've won that. Sorry that we won't watch
- 53:42Speaker 2: more hockey, but I think even when I watch a
- 53:48Speaker 2: lot of if I watch, they don't really cover it.
- 53:52Speaker 2: I think because it's still not something that has grown
- 53:56Speaker 2: in the youth world to where it's a daily It's
- 54:02Speaker 2: not at a lot of high school, it's not a
- 54:04Speaker 2: lot of you know, it still seems to be like
- 54:06Speaker 2: a niche kind of even though it's huge globally, it
- 54:10Speaker 2: still hasn't.
- 54:12Speaker 8: I don't know if it's only in certain states.
- 54:14Speaker 2: Yeah, only certain places that it has that pool. But
- 54:16Speaker 2: they've won two times here for Carolina in their existence.
- 54:20Speaker 2: And I think this they said since eighty seven. I
- 54:24Speaker 2: guess the shortest Stanley Cup or fewest games they had
- 54:31Speaker 2: to win to win the Stanley Cup overall throughout the playoffs,
- 54:35Speaker 2: few win the quicker series, few as wins to be
- 54:40Speaker 2: able to bring home the cup. But I was trying
- 54:42Speaker 2: to figure out when they were interviewing him, he seemed
- 54:45Speaker 2: very uninterested. He seemed like, you pulled me over here.
- 54:52Speaker 2: I just accomplished something that I don't want to talk
- 54:58Speaker 2: to you right now. You just dragged me over here.
- 55:03Speaker 2: I didn't you know. My PR guy came, gave me
- 55:05Speaker 2: the hat, told me to skate over here to talk
- 55:08Speaker 2: to you. And I really would like to go be
- 55:11Speaker 2: with my team. Are we too? I always ask you guys,
- 55:18Speaker 2: are we too? In truthful? We interviewed before the game,
- 55:21Speaker 2: middle of game, on the bench. We want some of
- 55:24Speaker 2: these things. These things are getting you stay in about
- 55:28Speaker 2: two hours?
- 55:29Speaker 3: Well for me Sports Shock Live. Yeah, and see that
- 55:34Speaker 3: you go there, you go and we have. I haven't
- 55:36Speaker 3: even I haven't even thought about what you're you're asking me.
- 55:41Speaker 3: I would actually have a more elegant answer tomorrow. But
- 55:45Speaker 3: you're asking me what's my emotions? And I was sitting here,
- 55:49Speaker 3: I hadn't even gotten to think about my emotions.
- 55:52Speaker 8: I think that sometimes the interviewers can ask better questions.
- 55:58Speaker 2: Well, but you're not. You're always gonna ask because that's
- 56:02Speaker 2: what I'm saying. The moodia the media moved because it's
- 56:06Speaker 2: open to anybody. It went from forty years ago, five
- 56:12Speaker 2: people in the press room who got degrees from Princeton
- 56:16Speaker 2: and writing and media and all these kind of things.
- 56:21Speaker 2: Lawyers that turned themselves into reporters to just anybody that
- 56:27Speaker 2: calls themselves a influencer in coming here and you're asking me,
- 56:38Speaker 2: would I be better tomorrow Victim women Yamba press commerce
- 56:43Speaker 2: tomorrow at eight am? What I mean about this game
- 56:47Speaker 2: tonight in the morning. Remember this game was over what
- 56:50Speaker 2: eleven thirty, So interview in the morning at eight am.
- 56:58Speaker 3: Honestly, I honestly think, well, first, when it comes to
- 57:02Speaker 3: the hockey, I think that a lot of times hockey
- 57:04Speaker 3: don't catch on any United States because it takes logistics.
- 57:07Speaker 3: To play, you got to have a place. It's got
- 57:09Speaker 3: to be a certain temperature. Ain't no in the driveway option.
- 57:13Speaker 3: We learned football, I'm saying, we learned football in the
- 57:17Speaker 3: front yard. We learn basketball in the driveway. Baseball pretty
- 57:21Speaker 3: much the same, just grab a stick in the ball.
- 57:24Speaker 3: But hockey like you know, I got to get some
- 57:26Speaker 3: skates first and find some ice.
- 57:28Speaker 2: But oh, I'll talk to you.
- 57:33Speaker 3: When it comes to athletes being interviewed, people try and
- 57:38Speaker 3: make it seem like it's so urgent to hear what
- 57:41Speaker 3: he's thinking in the moment. But when we come when
- 57:45Speaker 3: we talk about professional sports, when we talk about high
- 57:48Speaker 3: level sports, all kinds of competitive activities, those all show
- 57:52Speaker 3: and prove activities, and these people feel.
- 57:55Speaker 2: Like I said, anything need to be said out there?
- 57:58Speaker 2: You saw it, You mean, how do I feel about it?
- 58:02Speaker 2: We just lost?
- 58:03Speaker 3: How do you think I feel? There's no need to
- 58:05Speaker 3: ask me what my emotion was. You see it in
- 58:08Speaker 3: my face. I got it covered with a towel with
- 58:10Speaker 3: tears in my eyes.
- 58:12Speaker 2: Why don't you.
- 58:13Speaker 3: Use your creative thinking skills and give me some time
- 58:17Speaker 3: to compose myself. Maybe you could ask me how I
- 58:20Speaker 3: felt after my career in one of those twenty five
- 58:24Speaker 3: years of Windy specials. But we need to know that
- 58:27Speaker 3: your heart is broken today. We need to watch you
- 58:31Speaker 3: cry in your mama's arms and then go, hey, ask
- 58:34Speaker 3: your daddy. Hey man, were you not ask a better question?
- 58:38Speaker 3: Like if the guy is crying out, why you crying? Yeah,
- 58:42Speaker 3: it's gotta be a better question.
- 58:44Speaker 9: But at the same time, I mean when you say
- 58:47Speaker 9: it's through the years, all the way back from athletes
- 58:51Speaker 9: say doesn't want to talk to me, it's not just
- 58:53Speaker 9: the new people that's going in asking the crazy questions.
- 58:56Speaker 2: Questions apparently have been through the years been no. It
- 58:59Speaker 2: the press comforts you to be fewer people, I'm more intelligent,
- 59:03Speaker 2: questions less consistently throughout the week. These guys get interviewed
- 59:11Speaker 2: every day. What I'm saying they got somebody. That's not
- 59:13Speaker 2: how it was, bad producer. I'm trying to tell you
- 59:16Speaker 2: thirty years ago, it wasn't an every day you get
- 59:18Speaker 2: an interview clip. It wasn't somebody standing in a tree.
- 59:21Speaker 2: I'm not asking who your girlfriend was. It wasn't that.
- 59:24Speaker 2: I'm not saying that. I was just asking you, say, no,
- 59:28Speaker 2: can I get tomorrow morning? It'd be better Yeah, would
- 59:31Speaker 2: I get a better interview tomorrow at eight am? Or no?
- 59:34Speaker 2: I don't know, do monday?
- 59:35Speaker 3: Can we catch me monday after I'd unpacked my locker
- 59:38Speaker 3: and went home and wrapped my ankle.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Give me a minute. We'll be back more to Sports
- 59:44Speaker 2: Jock Show right after this, Liz says, say if I
- 59:47Speaker 2: court you woke them up? Wife, or my thousand dollars battress.
- 59:50Speaker 2: It's the world that I live in, QB.
- 59:53Speaker 12: Maybe I'm all there, John Boy, Wayne Born of the
- 59:58Speaker 12: Sports John Hill with Wayne Gamby.

- 1:00:35Speaker 24: I took lightly, but with everything going on, I really
- 1:00:38Speaker 24: wanted to feel like I could protect myself. I hadn't
- 1:00:41Speaker 24: thought about the danger of an unlocked gun in my

- 1:01:19Speaker 2: and at Lanta, Georgia. This this is the Sports Shock
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: Ship with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: You may Vegan may.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Come so far comes it comes to month?
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: Is it just.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: I'm doing? Yeah, I'm gonna go on the way you
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: may pill Vegan. Welcome back to this one shot shoe.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: This what shock. Wayne Candy, Good morning to you out
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: there listening land. We had a great hour there talking
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: about the Nigs, Jayalen brown Son, Carl Anthony Towns, O
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: b O Be Nobi or however you say his name,
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: Obi Wan Winning as well Josh Hart and the Gang
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: Mike Brown. Congratulations to you, Mike. I know Mike through
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: playing with his brother Anthony. We were teammates with the
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: Steelers for two years. His brother was offensive lineman. So
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: met Mike a long long time ago. Not gonna date
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: me and Mike, you know, I'll tell you what year then, right,
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: as long as it's before seventy three, be all right.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: So Mike Brown kind of and unfortunately and Tom Thibodeaux,
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: you deserve at least a small trophy. We see this
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: so many times where you just have teams that are ready.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: And I remember with the Bucks and they won that championship,
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: but the last coach didn't get them primed up, and
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: then you just kind of when I was in Mark
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: Jackson Bacon, Yeah, I'm saying Mark Jackson, I'll tell you, Uh,
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: coach Terry Bowden came in when I was at Auburn.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: We were ready, Oh, we just need somebody to go
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: hit coach, and he got the credit for what Pat
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: I had put together. But that's an architect. And then
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: sometimes you just dropped somebody in for whatever reason and
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: that takes away from neither one of them. But Tom
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: thiboda had this team primed Mike Brown came in and
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: changed the music to something let the dogs maybe one thing.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: But he wasn't working. He wasn't working from unas symbol,
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: I think, yeah, he just splashed something on top. It
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: was already the lasagna was set. Mike plated it right.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: They said the watch a kitchen. He played it and
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: made itzzled. It was like, oh, that's brilliant. That's brilliant.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: That's brilliant. That's brilliant. That's brilliant. So the media, what
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: does the media and why do you need to know
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: so much so fast all the time. Right now, you see,
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: especially with a generation where all these young kids react
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: the same way. Why, as I told you your forged,
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: that part of you has to be forged. We have
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: removed that part learning to function in the chaos, learning
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: to function when everybody is against you. It's something we
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: removed from teaching gen Z. But then we want gen
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: Z to match the greatest generation, the Baby Boomers generation act.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: We want them to have that same constitution. But why
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: when we have that constitution when you never managed his
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: probably his home life where you just didn't get to
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: go to the party because Mama and daddy said no,
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: they ain't actually have a reason. They just decided, you
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: know what you need to learn, you can't go today,
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: or whether the coach made you run for the other
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: dude because women look like he ever ran for the
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: other the other dude that was late. They only don't
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: even remember. They suspended the fired the coach for making
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: the kids do the up downs for because they was
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: late to practice. So that's why you see Cocoa golf
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: and he's like, they can't yeah.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: Because there was a time. Ain't come here, Big Kenny
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: bad producer was late today. I'm gonna need you to
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: do some push ups because then you know how we
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: do it here, and then later we would Then later
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: I would correct the producer because I ain't finna do
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: no more push ups, dude, And I'm strong now. I'm
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: strong because you've been late about four times.
- 1:06:06Speaker 9: So a lot of coaches, what I've noticed, they would
- 1:06:10Speaker 9: do that to get a player better. If they know
- 1:06:13Speaker 9: that player someone on the fence that to make the
- 1:06:18Speaker 9: whole team go to him, that will be their way
- 1:06:21Speaker 9: to try to coach that player up so it can work.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: And some of that seems a bit to almost be
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: a setup for the sound bites and the drops and
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: the video clips, the viral clips, because you know that
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: these kids haven't been given any of the twols that
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: they need to function in these chaotic instances. And the
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: first opportunity you get to exploit that, there you are
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: with the camera. Hey, yr mama was watching you, and
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: she looked at it a little. She looked a little disappointed.
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: How do you feel now? Get away from me and
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: get smacked. No, oh yeah, he hadn't got it. And
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: I didn't have any of the sportsmanship.
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: And I'm telling you the media impact, and I'm not
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: blaming the media, is how the money dollar went up.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: It's how the broadcasting. But there is a bad part
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: where I'm tired of answering questions. I've been answering questions
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: all day, all week. You imagine the new star Weinby,
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: He got four or five media obligations a day, and
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: about the same y'all keep asking me, and then you
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: know most of us media is selling it, so you're
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: more likely to get a question about did you see
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: Timothy and Kylie? Excuse me? All of the you could
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: ask better questions.
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: You try asking two hundred questions to thirty different players
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: seven days a week. At some point you gonna come
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: up with your greatest hits of questions that get the
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: best sound bites. Then you're gonna come up with some
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: that just I gotta ask this because the fans wanted them.
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: They report more about who was in the crowd than
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: the game. Now you find more articles about who attended
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: the game than what actually happened in the game.
- 1:08:20Speaker 8: I've seen more celebrities posing with the trophy than the players.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Yes, because I've seen I know for a fact, I
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: don't know how many Knicks played, but I know asap
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: Rocky Rihanna, Tracy Morgan, Ben Stiller, Larry David, Spike Lee,
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: they had the whole crew do the right thing on
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: the the Wu Tang clan, A risk riska all of them.
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: I know they were there. Timothy Charlamade, I can guarantee
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: you those people were there.
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: Whole court full of people. But we you know, I
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: was just wondering as a time to maybe wait. I
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: don't know who, and this is which came first, the
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: chicken or the egg. The athletes probably say it's okay
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: to wait. Sensible people probably think it's okay to wait.
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: But I keep asking this question off air, and now
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: ask it on air. Who's asking for this stuff? If
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: there's anyone who's listening to us right now that think
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: this improves the game to ask me an interview question.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: No, the media is what drives all of this. I'm
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: sure the media and the public drives what happens. What
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: the athlete wants and what the athlete doesn't want has
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: nothing to do with the athlete anymore. Yeah, I'm saying,
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: what part of the public wants to hear this? Bad producer?
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: Okay, now those are the people I want to stand
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: up the dude that goes, oh man, you got to
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: interview a picture in the dugout? Why why are we
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: interviewing this picture in the dugout during the game? Bad producer.
- 1:09:54Speaker 9: I just sat here and said that I'm not for
- 1:09:56Speaker 9: the end game stuff. I don't have a problem. I'd
- 1:09:59Speaker 9: rather see that after the game. I mean, the end
- 1:10:01Speaker 9: game stuff. Let's let's play the game. How soon after
- 1:10:04Speaker 9: the game the lotted downtime until it's time for the
- 1:10:08Speaker 9: media to come in.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: I mean, and you're ready to answer questions right after
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: the game about your sister being shot.
- 1:10:19Speaker 9: They're they're asking questions about the game. So if they
- 1:10:22Speaker 9: asked that question if my sister had got shot, I'm
- 1:10:25Speaker 9: just next question. Please, that's what you should do, or
- 1:10:27Speaker 9: you would do like Barry Bonds or anyone else. They
- 1:10:30Speaker 9: don't want to talk.
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: To that, that's what you should do. You ever had
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: a sister shot, No, but.
- 1:10:35Speaker 9: That was probably wouldn't be the question at the sister
- 1:10:40Speaker 9: shot while you were at work.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: No what let somebody go how you feel about what
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: your question?
- 1:10:47Speaker 9: If your sister got shot during the game and you
- 1:10:49Speaker 9: don't know, that wouldn't even reach to you before they
- 1:10:51Speaker 9: someone would talk to you. So what I'm saying is,
- 1:10:54Speaker 9: excuse me if you were playing I'm saying he said
- 1:10:57Speaker 9: during the game. I'm saying, if you were playing the
- 1:10:59Speaker 9: game during the game, they would come tell the player. Now, yeah,
- 1:11:02Speaker 9: that's what I'm saying. How would they not know he would?
- 1:11:06Speaker 9: This ain't the old school days where they told you
- 1:11:10Speaker 9: two hours after the game. They tell you right now.
- 1:11:13Speaker 9: People miss for things like this. Get off the bench.
- 1:11:19Speaker 9: I thought you just wanted better media.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: I think I want emotional You get better media, yeah,
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: you get, but you get good media.
- 1:11:26Speaker 9: The questions, like you said, you have some people to
- 1:11:29Speaker 9: ask and I don't know I'm like ridiculous questions, like
- 1:11:32Speaker 9: Greg and I said, But then you have some people
- 1:11:34Speaker 9: to come in and generally have things, they have deadlines,
- 1:11:38Speaker 9: they have things that they're trying to get a real story.
- 1:11:42Speaker 9: It's vice it like you said, it drives both sides.
- 1:11:47Speaker 9: It's the good, the bad, and the ugly. So you
- 1:11:49Speaker 9: gotta have all three of it to go together. We
- 1:11:51Speaker 9: wouldn't know who Victor wo. They wouldn't we as we say,
- 1:11:54Speaker 9: they pushing Victor up. They're gonna have to keep writing
- 1:11:59Speaker 9: a story. Now he's the villain because he didn't do
- 1:12:02Speaker 9: this and do that. That's the first why the series.
- 1:12:04Speaker 9: Before the series started, he was the man.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: He media. The media did not make Victor women Yama
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: victim Women Yama is making the media and the hand
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: and you know it actually doesn't because each player in
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: the locker room would vote not to actually do any interviews.
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: And it's not to make the media better. It's to
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: come up with the story first. And it's all we
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: cannot make people famous, no, no, we just want the
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: information first. We just want to be the first one
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: to say, uh, Victor women Yama got mad and walked out.
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: Game goes on when the share does a presser, imagine
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: that press conference.
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: So I don't know what happened. I saw them when
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: and I turned the TV off Sunday. I turned the
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: TV on at one. I want to hear anything about
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: what whoever's gonna be famous is gonna show me their
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: fame in their play, not about what a reporter this
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: is not. This is not one of those things. Sports
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: is not one of those kind of things. I'm either
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: gonna win or lose the race, and that's can make it.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: You writing a story about it doesn't do anything but
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: help you keep a job. Remember I got a job, right.
- 1:13:35Speaker 8: I think at one point it was like, okay, we
- 1:13:37Speaker 8: gotta with the me like okay, we're still reporting on
- 1:13:40Speaker 8: the game, but the way that it's done and people
- 1:13:43Speaker 8: trying to have these great narratives or it's not about
- 1:13:48Speaker 8: the game anymore. It ends up being about other things.
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: As a reporter, I gotta get story out there.
- 1:13:59Speaker 8: But then there's and they're like, well, I'm trying to
- 1:14:01Speaker 8: get a book deal or I'm trying to be Stephen A.
- 1:14:03Speaker 8: Smith and get on TV.
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: Because some do name at two, three, seven sports fans
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: right after it is pushed, I pushed, I pushed Don't Bowl.

- 1:18:41Speaker 2: a presidential event. Eighty years old is Donald Trump. But nice,
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: like it looked like set somebody's gonna use for a movie,
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: the next kind of Independence Day kind of you know,
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: cgi out the people, but you know, the next Rocky.
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: It could take something like that and use that as
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: the b roll, you know, if the government would give
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: them permission to do something like that. But nice. They
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: had the bowl and the banner and just a nice
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: event last night, at least from the picture. I didn't
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: know any of the fighters, and that's what we talked
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: about on the last show, I think. So it didn't
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: hold my attention because I'm not a big UFC guy. Yeah,
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: so it has to be, like I said, I somebody
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: like a John Jones or a name that would have
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: popped to make me want to watch on television. I
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: find more interest that I can go watch it live
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: and watch anybody fight. Now there's television. I almost need
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: like a brand.
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: Especially especially for something like that. On the White House
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: first time ever, I asked the question before. Do you
- 1:19:52Speaker 3: think that there were roadblocks with the talent and people
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: on some Now I don't want to be there because
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: the political event, But remember a time when they would
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: take one for the team. Yeah, I really don't agree.
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: But this is going to help the UFC. This is
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: going to move the sport forward, This will help the brand.
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: So I'm going to do this for the next generation
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: of UFC fighters. But we don't really see those kinds
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: of selfless acts anymore when it comes to taking one
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: for the team.
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: Well, UFC to me is like NASCAR, Like it's a
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: certain group that wants to see this, that will always
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: want to see it. Yeah, and it's large enough to
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: keep feeding it and you know we'll get more And
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: you know, I don't know that you need. The growth
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: will come more from just that group continuing to grow, right,
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: and not so much that I need new eyes on it.
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: Okay to be something because most people that don't follow
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: UFC think that the only time they do it, they
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: don't go to the local matches. They's just comes a
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: spectacle is when they watch that kind of thing. So
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: UFC has its own little window of brand. But it
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: looked like it was a nice event right there for
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: UFC Freedom to fifty. But I don't have I watched
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: like two of the matches, didn't really know anybody.
- 1:21:21Speaker 8: That's That's something that they continue to work on. Then
- 1:21:25Speaker 8: they need to continue to work on. Is promoting their fighters,
- 1:21:28Speaker 8: like and even the ones that we know that's only
- 1:21:32Speaker 8: for a short time, that okay, we know that person's fighting,
- 1:21:36Speaker 8: even though if they have two three fights a year,
- 1:21:38Speaker 8: we know that guy's fighting, Like if it's John Jones.
- 1:21:42Speaker 8: But then like two years later, John, Where's where's John Jones?
- 1:21:47Speaker 8: He's not fighting or he's retired.
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: Well, you're in a fight. You can't without gloves. It's
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: a short career. Yeah, that's the thing, Like so much turnover.
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: Do you think that in an event like this censu's
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: being broadcast from the White House, they were encouraged to
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: not go so hard, Like we've seen some serious injuries
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: in UFC and to see that on the White House Lawn.
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: How do you think the people would respond to it? Well,
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: that it was one fight that got real bloody. Really yeah,
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: well two fights that got real bloody, but one was
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: definitely the main event.
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: Got like eyes closed, nose, like bleeding on the on
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: the mat type fighting. So I didn't I didn't see
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: them try to water it down at all. I don't
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: think there were any women on the card. I think
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: maybe that's where they said, like, hey, you know what,
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: let's not put that out. Might not be a good
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: visual right to put that out on there, because that's
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: something that we That's why only it never really fully
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: grew to a lot of people, because nobody really wants
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: to see a woman in a in a situation of
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: getting hurt. There's there's always you're always quicker to jump
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: in when two women are doing anything like that than
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: you are men. Your son starts to fight, your brother
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: starts to fight, you might give it a couple of seconds,
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: but your two aunts start fighting, you jump in and
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: grab like what y'all doing? Cut that out? And I'm
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: saying I think that was the exception they took for
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: the White House Lawn that we're not going to because
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: you know, it was a lot of women there, and
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: the president had his wife and it's all those people.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: And if I think you had to extract that, I
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: saw that as an actual move by Dana White that
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: we're not going to put that out there.
- 1:23:47Speaker 10: That was a good call though, by not having them,
- 1:23:51Speaker 10: not having the ladies.
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: We'll be back more to Sports Shock Show right after this,
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: Don't go Away.
- 1:24:09Speaker 12: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamdidias coming
- 1:24:12Speaker 12: up next.
- 1:24:13Speaker 7: Hurting the game, We tough it out, feel exhausted, we
- 1:24:18Speaker 7: push on feeling down. We pull ourselves up by the bootstraps.
- 1:24:23Speaker 7: But there are times when bootstraps aren't enough, when stress
- 1:24:27Speaker 7: gets to us and we need to talk to someone
- 1:24:29Speaker 7: about what we're really going through. So we're going to
- 1:24:32Speaker 7: reach out because sometimes mental health is not a one
- 1:24:35Speaker 7: person job.
- 1:24:37Speaker 17: Is it?
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: Love your Mind Today dot org?
- 1:24:38Speaker 7: That's Love your Mind Today dot org, brought to you
- 1:24:41Speaker 7: by the Huntsman Mental Health Institute and the head counsel.
- 1:24:43Speaker 4: All right, son, time to put out this campfire.
- 1:24:46Speaker 10: God, we learned about this in school.
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: Oh did you now? Okay? What's first?
- 1:24:50Speaker 10: Smokey Bear said too, First.
- 1:24:52Speaker 8: Drown it with the bucket of water.
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: Then stir it with a shovel. Wow, you sound just
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: like him, Jane said.
- 1:24:59Speaker 8: If it's still warm, then do it again.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: Where can I learn all this?
- 1:25:03Speaker 8: It's all on smokey bear dot.
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: Com with other wildfire prevention tips, because only you can
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: prevent wildfires.
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: Brought to you by the USDA for Service, your state forester,
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: and the AD Council.
- 1:25:14Speaker 18: But that means that do not to stop.
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: And when you going and you they say please, don't
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: always sing with me.
- 1:25:24Speaker 23: So that means that do not stop.
- 1:25:28Speaker 6: And when you going ajuas they say please, then't always
- 1:25:33Speaker 6: remember it.
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: Don't drive distracted.
- 1:25:36Speaker 25: A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic
- 1:25:38Speaker 25: Safety Administration, Project yellow Light, and the AD Council.
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: And now back to the sports job of Wayne Gandy
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: Player's lounge.
- 1:25:54Speaker 23: You have been given full access to the player's lounge
- 1:25:57Speaker 23: on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gang.
- 1:26:03Speaker 2: Uh again, what's again?
- 1:26:09Speaker 19: We have.
- 1:26:11Speaker 22: A little b B.
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: What make this sport shock show? I'm the sports Shock
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: wing Candy. Phil Micholson was removed from a golf club.
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: I want to say it was in San Diego. Yes, Uh,
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: that Phil Micholson band from the golf club as well.
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: Right now, inappropriate conduct with one of the women that
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: worked at this golf establishment. I guess got a little handsy.
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: The league gotta be handsy, you know, to get a
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: good wedge shot. Yeah, you're gonna hand yourself into jail
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: right now, right now.
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: So there they're asserting that Phil Mickelson was so inappropriate
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: with a female staff member that somebody had to come
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: find him and lead him escort.
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: Him off the property. The Lucky left.
- 1:27:18Speaker 3: That's assault, ain't it? Know what I'm saying. I'm saying,
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: are there are there uh pending charges? Because to me
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: that sounds like the it meets the burden of proof
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: for some sort of assault. We had to escort you out.
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: I think he just probably I didn't feel got drunk
- 1:27:39Speaker 2: or was still on some of that cocaine from the
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: night before. And you know, listen, listen, I ain't judging.
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: We hadn't all been at the golf course drunk cocaine
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: from the night before, Am I right?
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: Am I right?
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: We hadn't all been here, but we ain't got escorted
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: out about no sexual misconduct.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying.
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: I'm trying to see what is the uh what they
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: are calling inappropriate was it words, did he touch her
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: something like that?
- 1:28:09Speaker 8: Because it's as non consensual and inappropriate physical contact.
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's gonna come with a charge. But his
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: saying there's video evidence that will.
- 1:28:23Speaker 9: Because hey, Michael Irvin had he was a dolleraty videos
- 1:28:26Speaker 9: and they got stuff.
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: So let's wait and see. I'm hoping we got a pull.
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: I think it is unfortunate that when I hear things
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: like sexual assault, but they got video. I'm encouraged by
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: the fact that they have video. I think that's unfortunate though,
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: because women have and will lie on men who've had
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: a little bit too much to drink and still be
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: a little bit hung on.
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: I'm going with feel is guilty. You're going with feel
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: is guilty. And I'm saying now to me.
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: I think he probably went a long time doing it,
- 1:29:03Speaker 3: and then and then somebody said, look, I'm tired of this.
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: She was cool with the hehi ha ha, and then
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: he kept on.
- 1:29:10Speaker 3: Because again, when I hear the established reality is we're
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: a golf club, a private golf club, I'm guessing yes, yeah,
- 1:29:21Speaker 3: and we're escorting Bil Mickelson. We know who he is,
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: and we're walking him out of here. Knowing that's gonna
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: make the news. It had to be one of those
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: we can't ignore it things.
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: The Big Three league is going public at the two
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: hundred and ninety million dollar valuation. The Big Three is
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: going to try itself as going public guy. You know,
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: the Big Three is kind of like the Harlem Globe
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: Trotter of his era. Ice Cube and probably probably three
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: or four other people started this league. It happens in
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: the summer. It takes veterans, guys that's mostly retired or
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: had short careers. I haven't paid a lot of attention
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: to it. If somebody I used to like play, uh
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: it was. It was kind of like a one off
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: went to a couple of them, and I have no
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: problem watching, But it didn't draw me in to consistently
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: keep up with the teams right like it does. But
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: going for being on the public market is the Big Three.
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: We'll see how that goes. For our man ice Cube,
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: Rod Stewart, the rock star coming under scrutiny he canceled
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: a concert to catch a World Cup game.
- 1:30:44Speaker 3: No, he canceled a concert because he had Larry Gidas.
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: He just happened to go to the World No, I
- 1:30:50Speaker 3: said it no, no, no, I said it right way.
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: He canceled the concert go to a World Cup game,
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: just like it was a coincidence on sports. See what
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: had happened was he was on steroids for the laryngitis
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: and finally worked just after he had canceled a concert.
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: Like I mean, had he had the concert been the
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: day after that and Scotland wasn't playing, he'd have been there. No.
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: Rod Stewart, the eighty one year old was going to
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: have a concert until fifteen thousand people bought tickets for it,
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: until a power called and told him he had two
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: seats for the World Cup match. I'm a Rock and
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: Roll Hall of Famer. I'm eighty one years old. I
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: can do a concert until I die, but I won't
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: be into the World Cup right again, I might not
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: make the next World Cup, So I'm gonna cancel this.
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: How was this hurting me?
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: And it was his people that was like he got
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: AARNGI its because Rod was on something. Who casts might
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: let's go start line.
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: What scrutiny, don't don't come to the next event. What
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: is not going to Rod Stewart? He's made it, Yeah,
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: he's made it to the age that it's okay to
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: do everything. Okay, do everything. It's okay to get a
- 1:32:22Speaker 2: two bedroom just flat. Yeah, and drive a little small
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: electric car. He doesn't have to meet any demand anymore.
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: None of that facilitating. I live with that, mama. They
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: bringing the baby home today. You want to go see
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: it now? And he's probably not the first and weighing
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: moments over things like that. Yeah, a lot of stuff
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: he's gonna he would miss two of it's two or
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: three things he's gonna miss a concert for at this
- 1:32:55Speaker 2: stage in his life. That's gonna take priority, and.
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: World Cup was one of them. People's hurt those sports
- 1:33:02Speaker 3: jock as his fans. I've been waiting for a year
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: to see him in saying Jose Da, he's not the first,
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: He's not the first. Last entitative well, I think part
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: of I think part of what upset people is the
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: eighty one year oldiness in it. The yeah, I'm gonna
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: cancel it and I'm gonna go to the game the
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: next ain't nobody in no disguise, I'm not hiding, I'm
- 1:33:27Speaker 3: not pretending to be going for some sort of treatment
- 1:33:30Speaker 3: in that state. I'm right there in the booth two
- 1:33:34Speaker 3: drinks in front of me, straight cheering and laughing at
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: the World Cup and yeah, whatever is he'd have a.
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: Voice though, And that's what I'm saying. Omar speaking of
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: the World Cup. Omar Artan, the Somalian referee that was
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: at the last moment deny entry into the country. FIFA
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: said they will give him his full salary. I don't
- 1:33:58Speaker 2: know why you had to make an announcement of that.
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: I would imagine that you was going to have to
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: do that anyway at the point that he got set aside.
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: I don't know what why, Why did need to make
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: sure this was said.
- 1:34:14Speaker 3: I'm trying to look into these Some people were trying,
- 1:34:18Speaker 3: I think, to make a political issue out of the
- 1:34:21Speaker 3: fact that he was an African referee who was detained
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: over vetting issue. Now I don't know what vetting means
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: in FIFA. I'm not sure how long it takes. You
- 1:34:35Speaker 3: would have imagined that they would have been trying to
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: get all of this stuff worked out, but that was
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: sort of the story. A lot of people were, Oh,
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: at least they're going to pay him, although they cheated
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: him out.
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: Of his opportunity. How old FIFA is the company he
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: works for, not. The United States government.
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: Says they don't have and they've already said, we don't
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: have any control over that. The hosting country controls who
- 1:35:03Speaker 3: gets in.
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: Right, That's what I'm saying. They would have they would
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: have had it. They didn't have any grounds not to
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: pay him.
- 1:35:09Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: Right, he came to go to work on time, and hey,
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: they won't let me in. Right. They thought people they
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: thought FIFA was gonna side with the United States. No
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: is the biggest No, No, that's the Olympics.
- 1:35:27Speaker 3: They bigger than because Olympics just come around every four
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: years with they little hustle.
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: Hey, theyre always hustling. Ye have to show no tax
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: record to buy a soccer team. That's not how they
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: take the cash. Yeah, there's a billion in cash outside
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: in the trunk of a Mercedaris. You want to host
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: the world and regulations and then even with the entry.
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: I don't know why we think the customs and this
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: shows maybe our custom system work. I would imagine if
- 1:36:02Speaker 2: you have something nobody ever is Yeah, somebody got to be.
- 1:36:08Speaker 2: We're on a college campus. Somebody tried to get in
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: here under eight you're telling me that in the whole year,
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: nobody on.
- 1:36:16Speaker 3: The age get y'all, y'all, we ain't got but one
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: fake one guy on the campus, got but one at
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: the club. Uh.
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: And I don't know the rules and regulations of what
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: is I think I read they were talking about maybe
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: his name was close or they had whatever his his
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: official name is had been associated with some some terrorist
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: groups and maybe they was like, you know what, we
- 1:36:45Speaker 2: don't sorry sir in that situation. In that so but
- 1:36:53Speaker 2: he is going to get paid and h that shows

- 1:39:37Speaker 20: even Big Canny.
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: Shock Wayne Candy. Good morning to you out there and listening. Lamb,
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: Big Kenny got a little hit there about Phil Mickelson
- 1:39:50Speaker 2: and reporting. Yeah, doing the interviews.
- 1:39:54Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: After the game, we had our loyal online listeners commenting.
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: We got Uncle Charlie asking is it mandatory that the
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: players are to make themselves available after each game?
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: Maybe change the rules, is what he's saying.
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: And to my understanding, I say, yes, they're required to
- 1:40:10Speaker 3: be available and if they're not, they get fined.
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: Is that correct? Yes? Okay, so yeah, so you kind
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: of as part of the job, you have to show
- 1:40:19Speaker 2: up and one thing, Uncle Charlie, at least I can't remember.
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: I can only speak for the NFL. I know the
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: big change they did with that was since the quarterback
- 1:40:29Speaker 2: and the coach gets so many questions, they take them too.
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: They give the quarterback the chance to coach the chance
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: to go shower and go to the podium. It used
- 1:40:44Speaker 2: to be they just ran to the locker so that
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: quarterback and the coach get a few more minutes. But
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: the teams, by the league order, have so many minutes
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: before they have to like I think it used to
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: be about fifteen minutes that they have to open the door.
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: That's how quick it has to happen. So you get in,
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: we all say a prayer. You know you could pray
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: back then without being scrutinized, and coach comes, he says whatever.
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: About two minutes after that, all the media comes storming
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: into the locker room. Eighty percent of them run to
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: the quarterback or whoever might have been the star or
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: gave up the big play, right, But the quarterback is
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: mandated with the coach. They almost can't duck out where
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: other players can if they Some guys just grab their
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: clothes and lead and almost don't take off their clicks
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: right and becne that quick we had.
- 1:41:48Speaker 3: Darryl Bowen Senior says, people look at it like when
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: you won, you didn't have a problem getting in front
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: of the camera, so when you lose, they expect you
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: to keep that same camera energy. Walter Echo says he
- 1:42:00Speaker 3: doesn't believe that they should be fined or missing the interview.
- 1:42:06Speaker 3: And again Uncle Charlie said that without the media, there
- 1:42:10Speaker 3: is no money.
- 1:42:12Speaker 2: So you know, you you.
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: Have to well, the money is in the TV media, right,
- 1:42:19Speaker 3: And that's what is common Without the media and TV
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: there whereas just just the TV. Okay, so it just
- 1:42:25Speaker 3: has to be the TV. It's the TV, and the
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: media is not part of that. Like the people who
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: drive that well.
- 1:42:31Speaker 2: Come out whatever. The TV. The media from the sense
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: of that the television is showing the gang, right, not
- 1:42:40Speaker 2: the media from the essence that you're reporting on it right, right.
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: That they're they're showing the game and we're here asking
- 1:42:48Speaker 3: questions that they're going to show the TV as well.
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: Yeah, the TV media meaning that Fox is paying X
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: amount of dollars to broadcast his game, right, But the
- 1:43:01Speaker 2: local newspaper writer or the no whoever doing all that.
- 1:43:05Speaker 2: That's just they didn't put in on that fifty billion
- 1:43:08Speaker 2: dollar TV contract. Okay, that's where the money is made. Okay.
- 1:43:15Speaker 3: Uncle Charlie said, UFC clock clock clock, no clock in
- 1:43:19Speaker 3: the day. He noticed that that we didn't have any
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: clock in. Oh yeah, and miss Percrin is who would
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: get it today?
- 1:43:29Speaker 12: Uh?
- 1:43:29Speaker 3: And when they were talking about Phil getting kicked out
- 1:43:31Speaker 3: of the club, they said, now Walter Echo said he.
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: Steal will and should be protected.
- 1:43:41Speaker 5: In that.
- 1:43:41Speaker 3: You know, they got to do the investigation. They just
- 1:43:44Speaker 3: can't take people's word for it. Is I guess what
- 1:43:46Speaker 3: he's saying. Then he said he won't go to jail
- 1:43:48Speaker 3: and he will pay for it a lot. And then
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: he says, yes, he has been doing a long time.
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: Has just got to the head of not being able
- 1:43:57Speaker 3: to ignore. And I wonder if some kind of stuff
- 1:44:01Speaker 3: like that will come out like he's like, because we've
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: seen it before. One person makes an allegation and then
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: there are thirty other women who come forward, but we're.
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: All being with somebody harassing a woman. Yeah, you hear
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: so very seldom can I agree with Big Kenny with
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: all that. No, I haven't been to a golf course.
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: I for a night of drinking and cocaine. No, a
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: little bit. But at some point of our large shock
- 1:44:27Speaker 2: up with And it's not always necessarily that we've been
- 1:44:33Speaker 2: with a guy that just won't let it go. Won't
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: let it go, Mama just keep going every time the
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: whole night, every time she walked by, he keep thinking
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: I'm say something. He just keep working it. Now he
- 1:44:49Speaker 2: might not end up with a hand on the back
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: or all that, because that's all it takes. At that
- 1:44:55Speaker 2: point when you say inappropriate, it becomes that you wanted. Yeah,
- 1:45:00Speaker 2: unwanted is the key word there.
- 1:45:02Speaker 9: Well, see and me working in that industry and hiring
- 1:45:06Speaker 9: young ladies, especially with the beverage cart. They're out there,
- 1:45:09Speaker 9: they're out there on the course by themselves, on their own,
- 1:45:12Speaker 9: and they got to deal with these guys a lot
- 1:45:14Speaker 9: of times, like you said, the guy, every time they
- 1:45:15Speaker 9: come around the guy.
- 1:45:16Speaker 10: Wait, oh he come to the beverage cart. Let me
- 1:45:17Speaker 10: shoot my shot.
- 1:45:18Speaker 2: They feel don't have a lot of success.
- 1:45:20Speaker 3: Yeah, they and they and they feel like they beverage
- 1:45:22Speaker 3: cart girl, Yes, and you have to, but I ain't
- 1:45:26Speaker 3: judge it because we didn't all came up a little
- 1:45:28Speaker 3: bit on the beverage cart.
- 1:45:29Speaker 2: Girl.
- 1:45:30Speaker 9: What I'm saying you have to tell get the right
- 1:45:34Speaker 9: one that can be able to handle that and see
- 1:45:37Speaker 9: get away from it.
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: Those those words hit people's ears wrong when they're talking
- 1:45:41Speaker 3: about assault and sexual misconduct.
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: A girl who can be able to handle it. Domn
- 1:45:46Speaker 2: want to hear you talk like that. And here's the
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: thing too. Back to one of our he said, have
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: the same energy. Yeah, I'm trying to tell you the
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: energy is that everybody is Marshawn Lynch. I'm just here
- 1:46:00Speaker 2: because I don't get Fine Bass. We could not do
- 1:46:02Speaker 2: the interview. The interview does not make you famous at all.
- 1:46:10Speaker 2: And that's what I'm saying. I haven't heard one interview
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: about Jaylen Bronson, but I did see him drop them
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: forty five and big body was going to work. And
- 1:46:19Speaker 2: that's sad. But I think I who says, ain't nobody
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: about to tell me nothing about what I just saw.
- 1:46:26Speaker 3: And that's the point I'm always making. This is a
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: show and proved business. I don't even think that we need.
- 1:46:31Speaker 3: This is not a big guys. This is not a
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: movie review.
- 1:46:35Speaker 14: Now.
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: Now, this is not a book review where I'm trusting
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: Cisco and Ebert to see a movie and then I'm
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: gonna look at their report to say I should go.
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna go check that out. I just
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: saw big Body drop forty five with my own two
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: eyes and bring home the trophy. What do I need
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: to report on? What do you think about that?
- 1:47:00Speaker 3: Uh?
- 1:47:01Speaker 2: Jaalen, big body? What do you think about winning that championship?
- 1:47:04Speaker 13: Uh?
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: And did you uh wow wow, big Body? Daddy? What
- 1:47:15Speaker 2: do you think about winning that championship?
- 1:47:17Speaker 3: Man?
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: Hoja wow?
- 1:47:21Speaker 17: I just.
- 1:47:23Speaker 2: Wow? Didn't make him? What they gotta do with that
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: forty five points? Yeah? I saw it, you saw it. Yeah,
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: We'll be back more than Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 1:47:33Speaker 2: Whimby won't even talk to you about it. So many
- 1:47:41Speaker 2: battlefield scores in the Plus Cars.
- 1:47:46Speaker 12: John Bowl Wayne Boor of The Sports John Show with
- 1:47:49Speaker 12: Wayne Gambidius coming up next.
- 1:47:52Speaker 5: Nobody had to tell your grandparents not to drive all
- 1:47:55Speaker 5: using their typewriters. Why should it be any different for
- 1:47:59Speaker 5: us kids and our cell phones. Distracted driving was the
- 1:48:03Speaker 5: cause of more than three thousand deaths in twenty twenty two.
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: Come on, we're smarter than this. Let's put down the
- 1:48:09Speaker 2: phones and focus on the roads.
- 1:48:11Speaker 17: Drive safe, everybody, don't drive distracted, A message brought to

- 1:48:25Speaker 13: quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 1:48:29Speaker 13: of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually have
- 1:48:32Speaker 13: life insurance.
- 1:48:33Speaker 27: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were

- 1:50:56Speaker 2: Welcome back to this sport Shock, some sport shock Wayne
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: can ind saently. Former forty nine er and cowboy Alden
- 1:51:04Speaker 2: Smith passes away a couple of months short of his
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: thirty seventh birthday. Reports are he was found unresponsive in
- 1:51:15Speaker 2: the car of a friend. They were out. I think
- 1:51:18Speaker 2: the friend must have been out delivering pizzas at the
- 1:51:22Speaker 2: time he came back to the car. Alden was slumped
- 1:51:26Speaker 2: down in the car. He the friend that at least
- 1:51:29Speaker 2: from the one reports that he thought he was sleep
- 1:51:33Speaker 2: when he first got back, but then he started he
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: was wiggling or something like that. I guess he was
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: having a stroke or something. By the time he got
- 1:51:44Speaker 2: to the hospital. He passed away. Alden Smith two years
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: in the first two years and the forty nine ers
- 1:51:50Speaker 2: looks like he was going to reset the sack record.
- 1:51:53Speaker 2: He had like thirty four sacks in the first two years,
- 1:51:57Speaker 2: but substance abuse had all of him around and no
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: autopsy yet. But we sadly will miss him. In the
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: NFL Family thirty six years old, there is Alden Smith,
- 1:52:11Speaker 2: a woman falling to her death down in Brazil. The
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: staff forgot to connect her bungee cord. As they forgot
- 1:52:22Speaker 2: to connect her bungee cord. Her fiance was there with her.
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: I guess they went bungee jumping, uh, and she fell
- 1:52:30Speaker 2: to her death. She was twenty one twenty two years old.
- 1:52:32Speaker 10: Got to be more careful and.
- 1:52:36Speaker 2: That's tough. And when I saw the story stood out
- 1:52:38Speaker 2: because I was like, Wow, I haven't heard bungee cord
- 1:52:42Speaker 2: jumping in a while. Everybody been to the ziplining, Yeah,
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: that's what the zip stuff. Yeah of stuff, you know,
- 1:52:49Speaker 2: not that they totally died off. You just hear more
- 1:52:52Speaker 2: about people, but that you got a clip, you gotta
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: get you something.
- 1:52:57Speaker 8: I think the way that this particular one is they
- 1:53:02Speaker 8: it's not just jumping off the bridge like you're like
- 1:53:04Speaker 8: thrown off like two staff members like throw you off
- 1:53:07Speaker 8: the bridge and cliff yeah, yeah, I saw I saw
- 1:53:11Speaker 8: the video of the actions that led up to it.
- 1:53:14Speaker 3: I didn't see anything past that. I was a little
- 1:53:17Speaker 3: bit incredulous, hoping maybe that this kind of negligence doesn't exist.
- 1:53:22Speaker 2: In the world.
- 1:53:22Speaker 3: So and I'm sure, I'm sure, I'm sure the people
- 1:53:26Speaker 3: RESPONSI will have to be on somehow. Did that you know,
- 1:53:29Speaker 3: of all the things we forgot to check, because I
- 1:53:32Speaker 3: would hate to think that was delivery.
- 1:53:34Speaker 9: Uh, well, that's what my next question. Would you think
- 1:53:37Speaker 9: there's gonna be some criminal negligence?
- 1:53:39Speaker 3: Yeah, they've been charged with some sort of because I mean,
- 1:53:43Speaker 3: especially if she's thrown off, and yeah, that's.
- 1:53:47Speaker 2: They were charged with it. And it's funny we're so Americanized.
- 1:53:51Speaker 2: We go to what's gonna be the charge? Twenty one
- 1:53:54Speaker 2: year old girl dies dead? Yeah, off of a bridge.
- 1:53:59Speaker 2: And I'm not saying you wrong. I'm saying America is
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: to go into that and we have all left something
- 1:54:06Speaker 2: unlocked or unlatched and it just didn't reserve resert I
- 1:54:11Speaker 2: mean result into disasters. And that's what I'm saying. Whoever,
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: sometimes it might have where you have you know, done
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: something and pack something away and you forgot the next
- 1:54:23Speaker 2: thing you know it's on the street broken and this
- 1:54:25Speaker 2: it just happened to be human life. And I'm quite
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: sure they're gonna somebody's gonna try to soothe, somebody's going
- 1:54:30Speaker 2: to try to press some kind of charges. You would
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: hope and pray to be optimist in a sense of
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: this was just a mistake, and it's just a mistake.
- 1:54:45Speaker 2: Like sometimes they will skip over when they put you
- 1:54:48Speaker 2: in the roller coaster. You know, they used to come
- 1:54:51Speaker 2: and make sure they just didn't leave it up to you.
- 1:54:54Speaker 2: Now and now you pull it down yourself, and some
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: people try to hold it up. And we want to
- 1:54:59Speaker 2: be more of real seekers that you know, next thing,
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: hopefully you don't fall out. Sad news coming out of
- 1:55:09Speaker 2: South Boston. Two young sister, a sister and brother fourteen,
- 1:55:17Speaker 2: thirteen and eleven robbed. They elimonade stand m robbery. Fourteen
- 1:55:26Speaker 2: year old team came by, told them let me get
- 1:55:28Speaker 2: that money box, pulled his shirt up, flashed his gun
- 1:55:34Speaker 2: and ran off with the box. The community, everybody in
- 1:55:41Speaker 2: the community went on a search. Can't you can't have
- 1:55:45Speaker 2: can't rob the limonade stand come in. That's not gonna
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: that's not gonna go down. I could have told you
- 1:55:50Speaker 2: that before even it. They're not going to let that stand.
- 1:55:54Speaker 8: It's it's it's almost a federal crime.
- 1:55:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's the only thing as you're fourteen got
- 1:56:01Speaker 2: a gun to they're charging with that. He's going to
- 1:56:04Speaker 2: be in the juvenile system. I think they was they're
- 1:56:06Speaker 2: looking for a second accomplice.
- 1:56:09Speaker 3: Well they went over and wherever that accomplice is right now, somebody's.
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: On some baby. You need to go turn yourself in.
- 1:56:17Speaker 2: Don't you being.
- 1:56:18Speaker 3: Rounding for that lemonade robber? You gone and get out
- 1:56:22Speaker 3: ahead of that. Yeah, I think the gun that's come
- 1:56:26Speaker 3: on the lemonade. I remember stealing a bag of Doritos
- 1:56:33Speaker 3: well from someone, me and my little gang at probably
- 1:56:36Speaker 3: about ten to eleven, but we had nunchucks, but we
- 1:56:40Speaker 3: rolled up on her like give us the doritos, lashed
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: on nunchucks and she was like, whoa, I want to
- 1:56:46Speaker 3: smoke the hands.
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: Over the big bag of Dorito's and we ran off.
- 1:56:50Speaker 2: But that was highest start. Yeah.
- 1:56:53Speaker 3: Yeah, little stuff like that, I mean because in that moment,
- 1:56:57Speaker 3: some of my friends me hate the decision that, bruh,
- 1:57:02Speaker 3: that's as much risk as I want to take with crime.
- 1:57:05Speaker 2: And some of us was like, well we got away
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: with that one, and not to leave on a sad note,
- 1:57:13Speaker 2: but interesting note because we as as we just talked
- 1:57:16Speaker 2: about being media. Sam Bill, the ex Giant, played a
- 1:57:24Speaker 2: couple of games for the Giants. It's still missing, Sam Bill.
- 1:57:31Speaker 2: Almost next month will be a year's sister and family
- 1:57:35Speaker 2: or asking for help. They they views and exhausted every
- 1:57:39Speaker 2: avenue of trying to find Sam. He was last seen
- 1:57:44Speaker 2: and Virginia Beach. When they got to the car that
- 1:57:48Speaker 2: he was in all day. I think they said they
- 1:57:50Speaker 2: only found like a pair of shoes, but they haven't
- 1:57:55Speaker 2: found no body. Nobody's called about kidnapping. I didn't know that.
- 1:57:59Speaker 2: I don't know the young man as far as his
- 1:58:02Speaker 2: talent on the field. But a year missing. Thanks you. Yeah,
- 1:58:08Speaker 2: I pray for that. Pray for that family looking for
- 1:58:10Speaker 2: some closure. But Sam b O B E A L
- 1:58:15Speaker 2: still missing after a year. Anything else, anybody need to
- 1:58:20Speaker 2: get off their chests. No, we're gonna have to. We're
- 1:58:24Speaker 2: gonna have to wait to have time for the interview.
- 1:58:30Speaker 9: The game will be over Thursday, so I have I'll
- 1:58:32Speaker 9: speak to the media then at the week.
- 1:58:36Speaker 2: The game will be over Thursday.
- 1:58:38Speaker 9: After we get through Thursday, and you asked me on
- 1:58:40Speaker 9: Thursday will be to we sigure out another He was
- 1:58:43Speaker 9: trying to show we got.
- 1:58:45Speaker 3: Another sports in the middle of the game, sports Jack,
- 1:58:47Speaker 3: How do you feel about trying to make that joke?
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: As I had said with the with the whole media thing,
- 1:58:54Speaker 2: I'm not knocking articles, but that's not how you're actually
- 1:58:59Speaker 2: learning about the game. As I was referencing during the break,
- 1:59:03Speaker 2: there was a time that media inform most people through
- 1:59:08Speaker 2: writing writers were the people who colored the game. They
- 1:59:15Speaker 2: just wrote the article Michigan, Ohio State nineteen fifty seven. Well,
- 1:59:18Speaker 2: if you won that the game, you brought the newspaper.
- 1:59:21Speaker 2: But now, what can't you see in real time, in
- 1:59:25Speaker 2: real time from somebody who actually on the field. It's
- 1:59:29Speaker 2: a dude on the field who got an account and
- 1:59:31Speaker 2: he wants you to see you know. So it fading
- 1:59:35Speaker 2: a part where you asking me questions and how interested
- 1:59:39Speaker 2: are you really? I don't even know what questions you're
- 1:59:41Speaker 2: insered other than the same old how do you feel
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: about winning the championship? Or how do you feel about
- 1:59:46Speaker 2: losing a championship. It's really I can't actually say what
- 1:59:49Speaker 2: I want. Maybe that will revive it yeah, I think
- 1:59:53Speaker 2: you should. I think you should. Maybe if y'all let
- 1:59:56Speaker 2: the people, then maybe you'll get me back to watching,
- 1:59:59Speaker 2: because I know he can come to the podium, he
- 2:00:01Speaker 2: can use the language he wants to, he can have
- 2:00:04Speaker 2: no scrutiny. But y'all aren't ready for that.
- 2:00:06Speaker 3: And if you ask the question, he don't like. Look,
- 2:00:09Speaker 3: I don't like how you're talking to me. Really quick
- 2:00:11Speaker 3: a retraction. Walter Eckles said he needs to be prosecuted,
- 2:00:15Speaker 3: not protected. I just want to clear that up because
- 2:00:18Speaker 3: we're talking about sexualists. Oh okay, yeah, we don't want
- 2:00:20Speaker 3: people to think that he's in favor of protecting people.
- 2:00:23Speaker 2: Oh he said it right the first the first time
- 2:00:27Speaker 2: we all know from Detroit. Of course, the truth is
- 2:00:33Speaker 2: he will throw your in the ocean.
- 2:00:36Speaker 4: It's time to wrap things up on the Sports jun Show.
- 2:00:40Speaker 2: With Wayne Kenny. When you designs of those you get
- 2:01:10Speaker 2: this more shout Tessa minute to Vin. We'd like to
- 2:01:12Speaker 2: thank you for tuning in today's show, guys, a big Kenny,
- 2:01:15Speaker 2: Commander Greg Bappytudes, and thank you for your contribution. If
- 2:01:18Speaker 2: you missed any of the show, you can go back
- 2:01:19Speaker 2: here to replay audible Apple Amazon I Heart Deezer and
- 2:01:26Speaker 2: Spotify and catch the replay of the show.
- 2:01:28Speaker 13: No, not.
- 2:01:31Speaker 2: To the Carolina Hurricanes who brought home the trophy. Jordan
- 2:01:35Speaker 2: stall is the MVP, the oldest to win the con
- 2:01:40Speaker 2: smythe MVP Trophy for the Stanley Cup. But today we
- 2:01:47Speaker 2: gotta recognize something that has not been done since the
- 2:01:53Speaker 2: Nixon administration. Think about that Big Kenny's first robbery, the
- 2:02:01Speaker 2: Bad Producer would have been about four manche greg not
- 2:02:07Speaker 2: born and I was in my Terrible two. So that
- 2:02:10Speaker 2: really means none of us even remember when the Knicks
- 2:02:16Speaker 2: won the championship. We just be acting like we saw
- 2:02:20Speaker 2: Willith Reed come out that tombel. First of all, very
- 2:02:25Speaker 2: few of us had TV and ain't nobody had Kater,
- 2:02:28Speaker 2: so you ain't see Willis Reed come out from New York.
- 2:02:35Speaker 2: When you read it in the newspaper, it's like the
- 2:02:37Speaker 2: land the moon landing. But we do know as of
- 2:02:43Speaker 2: Saturday night, Big Body Brunson brought home the trophy to
- 2:02:51Speaker 2: the Knicks. So the Knicks finally can celebrate what the
- 2:02:56Speaker 2: New York people have always bragged about.
- 2:03:00Speaker 23: Mm hmm.
- 2:03:02Speaker 2: Is it the greatest Knicks team? Who cares if Jaylen
- 2:03:05Speaker 2: Bronson the greatest Nick who cares. I do know he
- 2:03:10Speaker 2: will never have to buy a slice in the state
- 2:03:15Speaker 2: of New York. But he got the again he might
- 2:03:19Speaker 2: get overweight, he got he got the Mega Mate slice.
- 2:03:23Speaker 3: The charging whatever Mokie gives Jesus in the restaurant, like
- 2:03:31Speaker 3: I told him not to charge.
- 2:03:33Speaker 2: Where's the middle of that? So for that, Jaylen Bronson
- 2:03:37Speaker 2: and the Knicks come on board. We're gonna get to
- 2:03:46Speaker 2: the bottom of why destruction comes with winning though at
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: some point we're gonna come up with something Aristotle. Somebody
- 2:03:54Speaker 2: gonna give us an answer. We're gonna read something neat,
- 2:03:57Speaker 2: you know, Bruce Lee. Somebody got an answer. We just
- 2:04:00Speaker 2: ain't read it yet. But from the Sports Shock Show,
- 2:04:02Speaker 2: we hope you have a good afternoon. Thanks,
