- 0:08Speaker 1: And I invited you here. I thought I made myself
- 0:14Speaker 1: perfectly clear. When you're a guest to my home, you
- 0:21Speaker 1: gotta come to me empty. And I said, no guests,
- 0:27Speaker 1: you're our presences.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Presence and I already had too much stuff, So how
- 0:35Speaker 2: did you dare to surbey me?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Welcome to I said, no gifts, I'm Pritcher Wineger.
- 0:54Speaker 4: We're here, We're.
- 0:57Speaker 3: I felt like I had something to say immediately at
- 0:59Speaker 3: the beginning of podcast, and I've already forgotten what I
- 1:01Speaker 3: was going to talk about. I mean, it's been a
- 1:04Speaker 3: fine week for me, just loaded with unpaid obligations, so
- 1:09Speaker 3: it's great. I went to CVS. If CVS's pharmacy is
- 1:15Speaker 3: not open, why is CVS open? I felt like I
- 1:18Speaker 3: had walked into a trap. Unless you just want to
- 1:21Speaker 3: buy like a nine dollars Gatorade, why is the store open.
- 1:23Speaker 3: There's only one reason you go to CVS, and then
- 1:26Speaker 3: you might get garbage on your way out. They've got
- 1:31Speaker 3: to deal with that. I had that complaint the in
- 1:35Speaker 3: and out in Glendale. The parking lot is a disaster.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Not every parking spot can belong to the Fuji buffet
- 1:42Speaker 3: and grill. I shouldn't have to go in and out
- 1:44Speaker 3: and feel like my car is going to get towed,
- 1:47Speaker 3: So deal with that. It's not. Oh wow, I've got
- 1:50Speaker 3: three complaints. Google Maps has got to stop asking me
- 1:55Speaker 3: if there's something in the road or if there's a
- 1:57Speaker 3: lane enclosure. I don't know, and I don't care. That's
- 1:59Speaker 3: your job. Stop asking me. Okay, let me see if
- 2:03Speaker 3: I have any actual business. The only business I ever
- 2:05Speaker 3: have is we have a Patreon. You know that by
- 2:08Speaker 3: now sign up for the Patreon. We're having the time
- 2:11Speaker 3: of our lives. Everyone's just having an incredible time over there.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Bonus episodes also episodes of me well talking about either
- 2:21Speaker 3: Real Housewives of Salt Lake City or secret lives of
- 2:23Speaker 3: Mormon wives, trying to get in a fight with one
- 2:26Speaker 3: of the members of those casts. That hasn't happened yet.
- 2:30Speaker 3: And I, oh, Patreon, I forgot the U r L
- 2:34Speaker 3: patreon dot com slash. I said, no kids, Okay, let's
- 2:38Speaker 3: get into the podcast. I love today's guests. It's Beck
- 2:41Speaker 3: Bennett and Kyle Mooney so excited, felt like you're back
- 2:45Speaker 3: at a Beck is back, Kyle's new, and I'm in
- 2:48Speaker 3: a very negative mood from the very beginning.
- 2:51Speaker 5: I mean I thought, I thought all those complaints. You know,
- 2:54Speaker 5: we're right, We're just okay.
- 2:55Speaker 4: I say, I drive by this in and out, this
- 2:58Speaker 4: Glendelle in and out talking. I've never been inside there,
- 3:01Speaker 4: but I've seen cars wrapped around in line, which I
- 3:04Speaker 4: feel like in and out famously, there's always a big
- 3:06Speaker 4: line of cars.
- 3:06Speaker 3: But usually there's like enough parking lot to justify that.
- 3:09Speaker 5: Yeah, that that in and out. I have driven away
- 3:12Speaker 5: because just like driven up to it, looked at it,
- 3:15Speaker 5: and then like it's not I don't want it.
- 3:17Speaker 4: And what is that other restaurant.
- 3:18Speaker 3: It's Fuji Buffet and Grill. And they've recently put up
- 3:21Speaker 3: a sign at every parking spot that says this belongs
- 3:24Speaker 3: to our restaurant and you will be towed literally every
- 3:27Speaker 3: parking spot right.
- 3:28Speaker 5: There by the in and out. That's crazy.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Have you been to Fuji?
- 3:31Speaker 3: No, because I'm furious, right I'm using their spots. I
- 3:35Speaker 3: haven't been towed yet, but.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Wow, this is stress. Yes, living life on the edge. Well,
- 3:40Speaker 4: I'll tell you, I will say, because I heard I've
- 3:43Speaker 4: listened to a recent episode of Yours and you're talking
- 3:45Speaker 4: about going to Disneyland with taranh Yes. Oh, we saw
- 3:48Speaker 4: last Night, who said he likes to be mentioned on podcasts. Yes, ten,
- 3:54Speaker 4: Yes we do. But I've been I've been pulling a
- 3:57Speaker 4: Disneyland parking sort of hack.
- 4:00Speaker 3: What have you?
- 4:00Speaker 4: Even? Makes me? Well, I feel I'm nervous.
- 4:02Speaker 5: So is it the one? We is?
- 4:04Speaker 4: The one? I know? What is your? I don't know? Well,
- 4:07Speaker 4: I go to I just I do Downtown Disney. Just
- 4:11Speaker 4: go down and then if I buy something at Downtown Disney,
- 4:14Speaker 4: then it's like you get a validation and it's like ten.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Bucks wow, because it's like, oh well it's even sixty bucks, yeah,
- 4:19Speaker 3: least sixty dollars.
- 4:21Speaker 5: Then you can just walk right up. You don't have
- 4:23Speaker 5: to go through security, take the security line by the
- 4:26Speaker 5: entrance to the tram that takes you to Downtown Disney.
- 4:28Speaker 4: You still have to go through a security through security.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Yeah you're not. You don't have to go on the tram.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Man I do.
- 4:34Speaker 5: I've done, And I don't know if this works every time.
- 4:36Speaker 5: But Grand California right the hotel, Yeah you do juice
- 4:40Speaker 5: valet for forty dollars and then you walk in right there.
- 4:43Speaker 4: That's a dream.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:44Speaker 4: See, but I tried that and they said, like, you
- 4:47Speaker 4: can't do it. Unless you have a room or a
- 4:50Speaker 4: reservation at one of the restaurants.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Do you say you're trying to get a room.
- 4:55Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, you can be like, yeah, well we're going
- 4:57Speaker 5: to check availability. We're gonna I was going to walk in.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Yeah, get one, knock on some doors.
- 5:02Speaker 5: Okay, that's good to know. It felt too good be
- 5:04Speaker 5: I'd done it once. Yeah, and I was like, there's
- 5:07Speaker 5: no way that this is like a regular thing.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I know.
- 5:09Speaker 4: It's so good too, I think it's worth trying.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Yeah. Absolutely.
- 5:13Speaker 3: The last time I parked at Disneyland, the way I
- 5:15Speaker 3: got lost after my day at the park was just
- 5:18Speaker 3: murder for me because I was exhausted and I'm just
- 5:20Speaker 3: wandering through this parking structure totally opposite side.
- 5:24Speaker 4: It's huge. It's as big as a city. Yeah, it's terrib.
- 5:27Speaker 5: The line, the line. Last time I waited, it was
- 5:29Speaker 5: like forty five minutes to an hour to get in
- 5:31Speaker 5: from the beginning of the parking garage to maybe getting
- 5:34Speaker 5: to security.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Everybody must be making the move that I'm making. I
- 5:37Speaker 4: feel like I see strollers, I see people in their
- 5:41Speaker 4: Disney gear.
- 5:41Speaker 3: That feels like a true Disney insider.
- 5:44Speaker 4: Yeah, but yeah, nobody's calling I don't know what will
- 5:47Speaker 4: happen to me.
- 5:48Speaker 5: I don't think anything, right, Yeah, I think you're just
- 5:50Speaker 5: going to live a better life.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Yeah, you get to buy a little something shopping. Yeah,
- 5:55Speaker 3: what are you buying when you go to downtown Disney
- 5:57Speaker 3: of a.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Drink and like a flat red peat that makes sense?
- 6:03Speaker 4: Sometimes a gift for my daughter.
- 6:04Speaker 5: Yeah, I will just going back to one of the
- 6:07Speaker 5: other things you brought in the opening. I'm sorry. I
- 6:09Speaker 5: do want to say the CVS situation is fascinating to me,
- 6:11Speaker 5: not even really the pharmacy. I will usually do the
- 6:13Speaker 5: drive through pharmacure, but I've gone to a different pharmacy.
- 6:16Speaker 5: I've given up on CBS entirely. You're a I'm in
- 6:20Speaker 5: a new pharmacy. It's just an independent, not a Shane.
- 6:23Speaker 5: They always have my stuff, they always have it ready,
- 6:26Speaker 5: And CBS, though I love. I like going in to
- 6:29Speaker 5: just kind of see the dynamic of the one worker
- 6:32Speaker 5: working the register and unlocking everything, you know, and seeing
- 6:37Speaker 5: them juggle it all a little bit like I often
- 6:39Speaker 5: go to get specific batteries and you can't take the
- 6:42Speaker 5: batteries off. There are signs. But even though there's like
- 6:44Speaker 5: these are paper things that you can just kind of
- 6:46Speaker 5: like just rip it off off the tab, but you
- 6:48Speaker 5: have to wait and you have to see them. It's
- 6:50Speaker 5: just a fascinating thing because this it's like it's like, oh,
- 6:53Speaker 5: you're watching something that will no longer exist soon.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it's endangered Central.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Have you found yourself in the situation where that single
- 7:03Speaker 4: person is in the photo department and you're like, oh no, Now,
- 7:06Speaker 4: I really don't.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Know what to do.
- 7:10Speaker 5: I typically it's I if I ever need something in
- 7:13Speaker 5: the photo department, it's like I'm returning like a FedEx
- 7:16Speaker 5: or like FedEx that like maybe Walgreens or whatever, like,
- 7:19Speaker 5: but like there's nobody there and I'm just standing there
- 7:20Speaker 5: ringing a bell.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Do they still have photo departments in every one of them?
- 7:24Speaker 4: They in the one by us maybe it is a
- 7:26Speaker 4: Walgreen show.
- 7:27Speaker 3: No, I saw a photo when I was recently mad
- 7:29Speaker 3: at CBS, I said photos, But I don't recall seeing
- 7:32Speaker 3: a photo department at all.
- 7:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Also, how are they getting anyone to work there? There
- 7:36Speaker 3: are other places to get a job, and that seems
- 7:39Speaker 3: like the worst possible retail job. You could have been
- 7:41Speaker 3: the one person other than a security guard in a pharmacy.
- 7:45Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's just the people who are hanging on.
- 7:48Speaker 5: I can't, I don't. I can't imagine they're getting new people.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean somebody who's been there for twenty years.
- 7:54Speaker 5: Yeah, they're just firing more and more people, and they're
- 7:56Speaker 5: just kind of weeding everybody out.
- 7:57Speaker 3: So that person's particularly proud that they're still Yeah.
- 8:00Speaker 5: Yeah, they're like a fighter.
- 8:01Speaker 4: It feels so powerful they're surviving.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and mine. The drive through is frequently not even open.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Oh really, what are they doing? What's going on? That's
- 8:11Speaker 3: the one purpose of this entire business is to have
- 8:14Speaker 3: a pharmacy. I go there at six fifteen on a
- 8:17Speaker 3: Sunday night, it's closed. Really, the amount of people still
- 8:20Speaker 3: shopping in there, why youre just go to literally any
- 8:24Speaker 3: other store.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Anywhere else there must be and people are I mean,
- 8:27Speaker 4: I imagine in dire situations to get their medicine.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Yeah, right, especially in the store. That's why I like
- 8:35Speaker 3: to go through the drive through. I don't want to
- 8:36Speaker 3: go in there and stand by some sick.
- 8:38Speaker 5: Person stand there. It's just it's that the standing at
- 8:41Speaker 5: the pharmacy line is just so uncomfortable because there are
- 8:43Speaker 5: other people also that are usually in much worse shape
- 8:47Speaker 5: than I am. You're kind of standing there and like,
- 8:50Speaker 5: I don't know, there's there's sometimes there's like a jockeying
- 8:52Speaker 5: for line position that feels uncomfortable and anyway, it's yeah.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Right, and I should clarify I was not going to
- 8:58Speaker 3: get medicine because I was I was going to get
- 9:00Speaker 3: my antidepressant. So neither of you are currently in danger
- 9:04Speaker 3: of getting so great.
- 9:05Speaker 5: Great, great, Yeah me too. I'm not regularly getting sick
- 9:07Speaker 5: medicine every month. It's mental stuff.
- 9:11Speaker 3: The other thing about being at the pharmacy that's interesting
- 9:13Speaker 3: to me is how easy it is to get your medication.
- 9:15Speaker 3: You just need your phone number and birthday. They don't
- 9:17Speaker 3: ask for it. I feel like that should be a
- 9:20Speaker 3: little bit tight or secured an ID Yeah, literally anything.
- 9:25Speaker 3: I feel like if you just memorize somebody's phone number
- 9:27Speaker 3: and birthday, you could just I guess you would also
- 9:29Speaker 3: have to memorize their sickness schedule.
- 9:31Speaker 5: Yeah, but sure we should be able to get a
- 9:33Speaker 5: hold of that's that's interesting.
- 9:36Speaker 4: I have a situation now where this is it's it's lazy,
- 9:40Speaker 4: it's I don't feel good about this, but I have
- 9:45Speaker 4: a prescription that was set up for me in New York.
- 9:48Speaker 4: And I have a drug store in New York, right,
- 9:51Speaker 4: and so now every couple of months I have, like
- 9:53Speaker 4: my brother or a friend pick up my prescription in
- 9:56Speaker 4: New York and mail it to me.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Wow, why haven't you transferred the prescription?
- 10:01Speaker 4: Is it because it requires a doctor? Doctor? H And
- 10:06Speaker 4: I really like the convenience of.
- 10:12Speaker 5: I like the convenience of having my brother picked up.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Like I started getting people doing little chores.
- 10:21Speaker 3: And then they're sending it through the mail. That feels
- 10:23Speaker 3: illegal to.
- 10:23Speaker 4: Me, Yes, but yes, probably full on drugs.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Oh boy, anyway we need any anyway? What was I
- 10:32Speaker 5: trying to say? Any any way we need to get
- 10:36Speaker 5: I can't say the sentence.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Excited to hear whatever the sit however we.
- 10:40Speaker 5: Need to get our drugs, will do it or something.
- 10:42Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Sometimes you're willing to fight.
- 10:47Speaker 5: To get our drugs, will do it.
- 10:49Speaker 3: It just was an interesting thought.
- 10:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I had something in there, but it didn't really
- 10:54Speaker 5: pan out.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Beck.
- 10:55Speaker 3: I feel like you tease something before we began recording
- 10:57Speaker 3: that you had to share.
- 10:59Speaker 5: That's true. I was going to say something before recording.
- 11:02Speaker 5: I said, you know what, I'll save it for the pod.
- 11:04Speaker 5: I have so many good things, and I was joking.
- 11:06Speaker 5: I didn't It's not that I had so many good things.
- 11:08Speaker 5: I was just going to say that I loved doing
- 11:11Speaker 5: your podcast last time. I was telling Kyle beforehand, how
- 11:14Speaker 5: what a nice conversation it is. Love It is one
- 11:16Speaker 5: of the nicest environments. I would say, very easy, very
- 11:21Speaker 5: laid back.
- 11:22Speaker 3: I have something to share with you since the last part,
- 11:24Speaker 3: since we recorded. You gave me of this beautiful wooden spoon.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I've heard of this.
- 11:28Speaker 3: It's not supposed to go through the dishwasher, which I
- 11:30Speaker 3: learned on podcast.
- 11:31Speaker 4: Yes, it's very careful.
- 11:33Speaker 3: I come home one day my boyfriend has done the dishes. Yes,
- 11:37Speaker 3: blasted this thing, but the oil saved it.
- 11:40Speaker 4: Did it really?
- 11:40Speaker 5: Yeah, it redeemed it.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Yeah. He gave me wood oil and it looks essentially
- 11:44Speaker 3: like it did before.
- 11:45Speaker 4: I was so mad.
- 11:47Speaker 5: I actually because I had gotten one for myself at
- 11:51Speaker 5: the same time, like I was going to be on
- 11:52Speaker 5: your podcast. I wanted to get one of these walk
- 11:54Speaker 5: spoons that was designed by the chef, and I got
- 11:58Speaker 5: it and I have not put the oil in yet.
- 12:01Speaker 5: And I gave Bridger a job, and I didn't realize
- 12:04Speaker 5: quite how quickly. It wouldn't need it. I thought it
- 12:08Speaker 5: was going to be maybe after like a couple of
- 12:09Speaker 5: months or something like, you know, to keep it up.
- 12:11Speaker 4: But it's like from the get go, just almost immediately. Yeah.
- 12:14Speaker 5: Yeah, And it's a huge spoon.
- 12:15Speaker 4: It's very big.
- 12:16Speaker 3: It's kind of nice in the like utinsil jar, you know,
- 12:19Speaker 3: with the other Spanish.
- 12:20Speaker 5: It's nice and it could be good a serving spoon too.
- 12:23Speaker 4: You got right, it's getting used what it is getting
- 12:26Speaker 4: used to say? Do you feel nervous to say that?
- 12:30Speaker 3: I do feel slightly nervous, but I feel proud that
- 12:32Speaker 3: it actually has been used.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm incredibly proud.
- 12:34Speaker 3: I mean when I got essentially bleached by the dishwasher,
- 12:38Speaker 3: that was a different feeling for me.
- 12:40Speaker 5: Now do you do you make an attempt to incorporate gifts,
- 12:44Speaker 5: these gifts into your life.
- 12:45Speaker 3: If they're a practical gift like that there every fiftieth
- 12:49Speaker 3: gift is practical.
- 12:50Speaker 5: Okay, that is that is a fun It seems like
- 12:54Speaker 5: a fun idea to see how all these gifts would
- 12:56Speaker 5: almost change your life, right for the better or worse,
- 12:59Speaker 5: Like what impact they might have for the.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Most part, just for the worst, because they're just clutter
- 13:04Speaker 3: in my house. But you know, like unfortunately they're not
- 13:07Speaker 3: just becoming part of the studio, which is nice. If
- 13:10Speaker 3: there's something that I just simply can't use at home,
- 13:12Speaker 3: it goes here.
- 13:13Speaker 5: I mean this one, the Redneck Plunger is fantastic.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Oh it was true.
- 13:16Speaker 3: That's from Rob Hubel. That's an incredible and it shoots,
- 13:20Speaker 3: has a sound effect that's a Harry Potter wand there's
- 13:26Speaker 3: just a little bit of everything. These are things that
- 13:28Speaker 3: we're just essentially going to be in my garage for
- 13:30Speaker 3: the rest of my life.
- 13:31Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, and you have a little show garage. Yeah,
- 13:35Speaker 5: I And the other thing I was gonna, I was
- 13:37Speaker 5: maybe gonna and I guess I didn't really have anything
- 13:40Speaker 5: to say besides that, but I did want to talk
- 13:41Speaker 5: to you about your just the whole the approach. However,
- 13:46Speaker 5: I don't know if we should reveal this, but we
- 13:49Speaker 5: have some other news the three of us that you're gonna.
- 13:52Speaker 4: Be I'm gonna be on your on our podcastes.
- 13:55Speaker 5: So I feel there are things I want to ask you,
- 13:57Speaker 5: but I'm gonna save it.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Maybe oh interesting, Yeah, you probably should because we have
- 14:01Speaker 3: a good chance we run out of things immediately to
- 14:03Speaker 3: talk about on yours? What are we going to do
- 14:05Speaker 3: with the rest?
- 14:06Speaker 5: And then I've got some amazing questions. You're a journalist, yes, yes,
- 14:11Speaker 5: really I really am.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Can we you don't want to tease out any of them?
- 14:15Speaker 5: Any of the questions? Well, it was going to be
- 14:18Speaker 5: like it was kind of going to be a well,
- 14:24Speaker 5: it was gonna be like, yeah, no, I don't. I
- 14:27Speaker 5: can't come up with question what inspires.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Tell me about your start?
- 14:36Speaker 5: I'm gonna say. I'm gonna say, but it's nothing.
- 14:38Speaker 3: But this this was like a good tease for that episode.
- 14:40Speaker 3: I wonder which episode is going to come out first,
- 14:42Speaker 3: To be honest, I think probably this one next week. Yeah,
- 14:46Speaker 3: because I think I'm coming next week and this one
- 14:48Speaker 3: will be out in two weeks.
- 14:49Speaker 4: Oh yeah, then this will be out right.
- 14:51Speaker 3: So it'll be like a nice teeing up to that episode.
- 14:55Speaker 5: If you like, if you're liking this, you're definitely gonna
- 14:57Speaker 5: want to go check out Bridger on What's Our Podcast?
- 15:00Speaker 4: It would be nice too. And I don't know what
- 15:03Speaker 4: this is as an abstract thought, but if we could
- 15:05Speaker 4: plant some Easter egg in this episode that sort of
- 15:08Speaker 4: holds off.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Or just make a huge promise like, I'm going to
- 15:11Speaker 3: reveal something I've ever said before on that episode.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Okay, are you willing to do that?
- 15:16Speaker 3: I'm willing to do that, but I'm gonna have to
- 15:18Speaker 3: wreck my I'll think of something I've never revealed before.
- 15:23Speaker 5: Oh, you know, and you know, it would be interesting
- 15:24Speaker 5: if we could also maybe say something here so that
- 15:27Speaker 5: in our episode when people listen, we could be like,
- 15:29Speaker 5: if you want to find out this fact about me
- 15:30Speaker 5: and Kyle?
- 15:31Speaker 3: Oh yeah, what's something that you What are your influences?
- 15:39Speaker 4: We find out what your influences are on our podcast.
- 15:41Speaker 4: You yeah, okay, very.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Cool question, very interesting to answer.
- 15:44Speaker 4: Influences.
- 15:46Speaker 5: Influences, God, Kyle is one of my biggest influences.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:51Speaker 5: Now, honestly, it's just Kyle in the past two decades.
- 15:53Speaker 4: I did you know? I will? I will. I will
- 15:55Speaker 4: answer this question earnestly if you want me to. But
- 15:58Speaker 4: it does remind me of something that my real life,
- 16:00Speaker 4: which is embarrassing. And when I was probably twenty years old,
- 16:09Speaker 4: I heard that Fabricio from The Strokes was Djane at
- 16:15Speaker 4: a bar and Silverlace. Sure, I forget what that venue
- 16:19Speaker 4: was called, the you know, the Silver Lake Venue's it changed.
- 16:25Speaker 4: It was a pretty iconic rock venue.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Oh on hyperiod. Yeah, that was satellite.
- 16:34Speaker 4: Satellite was but then it was something. It was called
- 16:36Speaker 4: something before the sound, wasn't it.
- 16:38Speaker 5: I forget what it was before.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Anyway, he was djaying there and like he was fun
- 16:44Speaker 4: dating Kirsten Dunst at the time, and they were there
- 16:47Speaker 4: and like as like a twenty one year old, Like
- 16:49Speaker 4: I was like, whoa, this is fucking tight. Yeah. Like
- 16:53Speaker 4: I saw him and I approached him and I asked him.
- 16:56Speaker 4: I was like, so, what type of music are you into? Oh?
- 17:02Speaker 4: And he was just like like cold cold, Yeah I was.
- 17:06Speaker 4: I think it was like I think I had somewhat
- 17:08Speaker 4: of a journalistic approach, like so wonderful to meet you.
- 17:11Speaker 4: I was curious what type of music inspires you? He goes, well,
- 17:16Speaker 4: they have been listening to a lot of motown.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Very who has not been listening to some motown?
- 17:24Speaker 5: Right?
- 17:25Speaker 4: Did he?
- 17:26Speaker 3: Was he polite enough to ask you?
- 17:28Speaker 4: He didn't care, you know, but I'm fine. I don't
- 17:32Speaker 4: need to be asked by I mean I was, I
- 17:34Speaker 4: would have I probably would not have known what to say.
- 17:37Speaker 3: I had a panic att Yeah, I was just thinking
- 17:39Speaker 3: about him because didn't he also date Drew Barrymore.
- 17:42Speaker 4: I think that's true.
- 17:43Speaker 3: For some reason, I was thinking about people she's dated,
- 17:45Speaker 3: including Tom Green. She said an interesting yeah, the only two.
- 17:50Speaker 3: But for whatever reason, he just popped into my head.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Is the date.
- 17:55Speaker 5: That was an awesome romance?
- 17:56Speaker 3: Yeah, an incredible roman, really incredible romance. At the center,
- 17:59Speaker 3: it's the Strokes are in the news, back in the news.
- 18:05Speaker 3: But keep thinking about something.
- 18:06Speaker 5: To my influences, like as a podcast, Billy Madison was huge,
- 18:14Speaker 5: Ben Stiller, I do, and.
- 18:19Speaker 3: I do like the Beatles. That's as as who's your
- 18:22Speaker 3: favorite Beatle? Oh, Paul, okay, Paul. Interesting.
- 18:29Speaker 5: I don't want to say canceled people. I was for
- 18:32Speaker 5: some reason I thought of I can't say I don't
- 18:35Speaker 5: want to be put in a corner?
- 18:36Speaker 4: Is it okay? Can I say cancel? You can?
- 18:40Speaker 5: Very influenced by R Kelly Y Yes, I mean Trapped
- 18:44Speaker 5: in the Closet and some of those like Remix to Ignition,
- 18:47Speaker 5: there's some of them sound funny to me but also
- 18:50Speaker 5: good and like they're just strange. The writing is just
- 18:54Speaker 5: like it's almost like it's comedic story, you.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Know, and from the mind of something that's like how
- 18:59Speaker 3: to how could a human being and.
- 19:01Speaker 5: Taking himself a serious, taking it so serious. It is
- 19:04Speaker 5: sort of like AI.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Before AI totally broken.
- 19:07Speaker 4: Ay, I remember there. Yes, we had somebody in our
- 19:12Speaker 4: circle of friends in college back when I went to
- 19:13Speaker 4: college together, had the DVD for Trapped in the closet,
- 19:18Speaker 4: which was like, yeah, there are like what fifty chapters?
- 19:21Speaker 4: Do you you know?
- 19:21Speaker 3: I'm never I like so familiar with it, but I've
- 19:24Speaker 3: never I don't think I've consumed any of Traps.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:26Speaker 4: It was really it's really like going upstairs, knock on the.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Door, currently in jail, Yes, okay, good, okay.
- 19:36Speaker 4: He essentially is like, yes, just singing this narrative with
- 19:40Speaker 4: twists and turns, and there's like a video, you know,
- 19:42Speaker 4: you're getting to see it play out.
- 19:43Speaker 5: It's an operetta. It's like, you know, it just kind
- 19:45Speaker 5: of builds and there's the form of the songs or
- 19:48Speaker 5: just sort of meandering.
- 19:49Speaker 4: But there is also, as I recall, I've not seen
- 19:50Speaker 4: this since two thousand and six or whenever we would
- 19:54Speaker 4: watch this. There was a sort of audio commentary on
- 19:58Speaker 4: the DVD, kind of a director's commentary type thing, which,
- 20:01Speaker 4: as I recall, I feel like it's him maybe in
- 20:03Speaker 4: a movie theater smoking a cigar watching it. But he's
- 20:06Speaker 4: just explaining what he's doing. So right here, I'm walking
- 20:10Speaker 4: up the stairs.
- 20:13Speaker 3: That's like a thing for the visually impaired, Like if
- 20:17Speaker 3: you go to the movie theater, tell us something that
- 20:21Speaker 3: we don't know what's happening. Yeah, well he's in jail,
- 20:25Speaker 3: so it doesn't matter. Yeah, yeah, and remix to Ignition?
- 20:29Speaker 3: Unfortunately has has that all been pulled from streaming services?
- 20:32Speaker 3: Do we think?
- 20:33Speaker 4: I don't. I don't think so.
- 20:34Speaker 3: I mean I think that. I mean there are other
- 20:37Speaker 3: plenty of musicians who have been canceled their music still
- 20:39Speaker 3: on there, so.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Yeah, you gotta love it. When what I love about
- 20:44Speaker 4: it's the remix? Anyone know the Ignition? The actual wow
- 20:49Speaker 4: or never hear it?
- 20:51Speaker 5: I remember going to I do think there is there is,
- 20:56Speaker 5: but it doesn't sound anything like it.
- 20:57Speaker 3: It's like heavily guitar bass.
- 21:00Speaker 6: It's like a rock just a lot of singing. It's
- 21:03Speaker 6: the Ignition, Yeah, something like that.
- 21:11Speaker 5: I think I'm trying to remember it.
- 21:13Speaker 4: It is bold. It's pretty like, uh, you're like very
- 21:17Speaker 4: confident to be like, I'm just calling this the remix remix.
- 21:21Speaker 3: And it's going to have to beat Beef in.
- 21:25Speaker 5: Yeah too to beat Beep. It's really he's really tasted,
- 21:29Speaker 5: so seriously, it's really really wonderful. So that's like those
- 21:32Speaker 5: are because you're probably number one, he's probably my number one.
- 21:36Speaker 3: He's he's shaped away. I see the world I like
- 21:39Speaker 3: to start from. Maybe I shouldn't mention this name too. World.
- 21:43Speaker 5: He means everything to me. I read everything he's written.
- 21:46Speaker 5: I don't know if he actually can write.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I think he's illiterate.
- 21:49Speaker 3: I think I think he would.
- 21:50Speaker 5: Go into the studio and just like go straight off. Yeah, yeah,
- 21:54Speaker 5: because he could not read.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Or complicated man. Yeah, and again in jail and again yeah,
- 22:01Speaker 3: r Kelly, reach.
- 22:01Speaker 5: Out, reach out.
- 22:03Speaker 4: Wow, would you have him on your podcast if.
- 22:05Speaker 3: You zoom from I'm fighting for him. I'm trying trying
- 22:09Speaker 3: to prove what it was just the worst people of
- 22:14Speaker 3: the last twenty five years.
- 22:15Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, whatever gets those clicks and yeah, you
- 22:18Speaker 5: know what I mean. Ultimately we're here for the clips.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm I'll have him on and I'll have him
- 22:23Speaker 3: do some takes and send him back to jail.
- 22:26Speaker 5: Absolutely, that would be fantastic.
- 22:28Speaker 3: That would be huge, right, Well, I mean, speaking of
- 22:30Speaker 3: doing horrible things, just deserving to go to jail. I
- 22:34Speaker 3: was looking forward to having you two on the podcast today.
- 22:37Speaker 3: I thought they'd come by, we'd have a nice time.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Beca's been on before. We had a little bit of
- 22:40Speaker 3: a fight, but I'm sure he's evolved.
- 22:42Speaker 4: I have evolved a little bit.
- 22:44Speaker 5: Okay, Yeah, but you.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Did bring Kyle today. Yes, and the podcast is called
- 22:48Speaker 3: I know. I said no gifts, right, and you two
- 22:51Speaker 3: showed up with this gorgeous gift bag.
- 22:54Speaker 5: Yes, we couldn't help ourselves. I do want I we
- 22:57Speaker 5: really because I was just I had a great time.
- 23:00Speaker 5: I told Kyle how nice.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Yes. I feel like there was some sort of communication
- 23:05Speaker 4: issue going on as well, because you were at the gym.
- 23:08Speaker 5: Yes, and we were going to You were going to
- 23:12Speaker 5: pick me up in your blue car. And then I
- 23:16Speaker 5: was like great, And then I was like, I'm at
- 23:17Speaker 5: the gym. It does make sense for me to go
- 23:20Speaker 5: home and for you to pick me up and take
- 23:22Speaker 5: me to the podcast. So I was like, let's meet
- 23:25Speaker 5: at the studio.
- 23:26Speaker 4: And then you said you should get him a gift.
- 23:28Speaker 5: Well, no, I said, do you want to pick me
- 23:30Speaker 5: up at the gym so that we can go shopping
- 23:33Speaker 5: for our pre planned gift together and so we're both
- 23:36Speaker 5: a part of it, or do you want to do it?
- 23:38Speaker 5: And you said I was going to do it, but
- 23:40Speaker 5: this was a collaboration. But Kyle made the purchase by himself,
- 23:44Speaker 5: so he.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Regardless, apologies, Okay, I appreciate it.
- 23:47Speaker 5: There was some communicator Yeah, we yeah.
- 23:49Speaker 3: And I'm glad to hear that you're communicating while you're
- 23:51Speaker 3: at the trim. Yes, kind of out of breath, yelling
- 23:54Speaker 3: while other people are around.
- 23:55Speaker 5: Yes, yelling when I'm texting.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Ah, yeah, well should we open it here on the podcast?
- 24:02Speaker 5: It would be great. I would you know. I know
- 24:04Speaker 5: you said no gifts, but it's in this This might
- 24:07Speaker 5: be one of those gifts.
- 24:08Speaker 4: You're glad that we brought anybody.
- 24:14Speaker 3: All right, I'm going to reach it feels like there
- 24:16Speaker 3: are multiple things in here package.
- 24:18Speaker 4: It's it's there are multiple things that it's you know, under.
- 24:21Speaker 3: I'm all out at the same time. Sure, O, yes,
- 24:31Speaker 3: this is this is an incredible This feels like it's
- 24:33Speaker 3: from an uncle.
- 24:35Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 24:36Speaker 3: It's a bottle of squirt grapefruit drink, some black and
- 24:41Speaker 3: mild cigarettes.
- 24:43Speaker 5: We would call them cigars.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Oh, these are cigar.
- 24:46Speaker 4: I think there might be cigarette.
- 24:48Speaker 3: I think that's.
- 24:50Speaker 4: We're all right, there's cigareite as in several scratchers.
- 24:54Speaker 5: Yes, this is kind of the the last minute birthday
- 24:59Speaker 5: package surprise.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Like the most deadbeat possible.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:02Speaker 5: But also this is something that we would give each other,
- 25:05Speaker 5: and you know, it just became something like we'd show
- 25:07Speaker 5: up to a birthday with Kyle and I were talking
- 25:10Speaker 5: about this. We're like, we genuinely love this gift. It's
- 25:12Speaker 5: a good gift. It's a good fun gift. The scratches
- 25:15Speaker 5: are great. The squirt is for a cocktail, a drink
- 25:19Speaker 5: that Kyle what trademarked created when we were living together.
- 25:26Speaker 5: That's a squirkle. It's a squirrel that's named after Steve Rkle. Yeah,
- 25:30Speaker 5: squirt and vodka and ice cubes.
- 25:33Speaker 4: Yeah, fifty things.
- 25:36Speaker 7: I was watching a lot of Family matters at the time,
- 25:39Speaker 7: and does Rkle drink squirt or anything happened? It just
- 25:43Speaker 7: kind of worked out that, Like I was like, oh,
- 25:45Speaker 7: I like squirt was like what if you put some
- 25:47Speaker 7: booze in it and.
- 25:48Speaker 5: You kind of it's kind of you squirrel it up. Yeah,
- 25:51Speaker 5: kind of Grkle the squirt, Yeah, is it.
- 25:53Speaker 4: Still a cocktail?
- 25:54Speaker 3: You're having on occasion.
- 25:56Speaker 4: You know, I feel like one of the last ones
- 25:58Speaker 4: I had was I stayed a year longer than beck
- 26:02Speaker 4: a't said night live okay, And on my first week
- 26:07Speaker 4: back from La, he had moved back to LA sent
- 26:10Speaker 4: me a big leader bottle of squirrel and some vodka,
- 26:16Speaker 4: and so that was probably the last Sarah. It was
- 26:21Speaker 4: very sweet. It was like break a leg, yeah, oh,
- 26:24Speaker 4: have a squirrel.
- 26:25Speaker 3: And so this is what you would just take to
- 26:27Speaker 3: party my birthday just in case you need to give something?
- 26:30Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Do you feel like it's complicated to give somebody scratchers
- 26:35Speaker 3: because what if they win big?
- 26:37Speaker 4: I think you have to. I think that's the sacrifice
- 26:39Speaker 4: you're making.
- 26:40Speaker 5: To the person to scratching, you know. So it's, you know,
- 26:44Speaker 5: if you want to give us fifty percent of your
- 26:45Speaker 5: life kind of.
- 26:46Speaker 3: A moral old issue. It becomes a sort of like
- 26:48Speaker 3: what sort of person are you?
- 26:49Speaker 4: Really? It's a personality test. I really say, I scratch
- 26:54Speaker 4: a decent amount. I scratch probably like twice a year. Okay,
- 26:57Speaker 4: that's that's every Thanksgiving.
- 27:00Speaker 5: Okay, I try to scratch it and trying to scratch more.
- 27:03Speaker 4: Well, you got I'm very healthy, yes, but I bet
- 27:06Speaker 4: I'm I'm thinking, chances are you've got at least a
- 27:10Speaker 4: free ticket in that.
- 27:11Speaker 3: I think I should all scratch one?
- 27:12Speaker 5: Should we all scratch? I was helping what we could.
- 27:16Speaker 5: Is there is there one that's more expensive or has
- 27:18Speaker 5: a bigger price.
- 27:20Speaker 3: A lot looks like is a Jaws? This looks a
- 27:23Speaker 3: very exciting one.
- 27:23Speaker 5: This looks like a big one.
- 27:25Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 27:26Speaker 3: There's a full of five hundreds.
- 27:28Speaker 4: I think that. Yeah, I've got poker nights, and I've
- 27:32Speaker 4: got a classic.
- 27:33Speaker 5: I've got cash crush. This is more of a.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Tattoo themed and then I've got kind of a Jaws
- 27:39Speaker 3: has a Jaws experience through some sort of app and
- 27:43Speaker 3: almost a holograma.
- 27:44Speaker 5: That is a really cool one.
- 27:46Speaker 4: Thank you. I have exactly three coins.
- 27:48Speaker 3: You have a shocking amount of coins.
- 27:50Speaker 4: Actually I paid for this in cash. I think you
- 27:53Speaker 4: have to pay. Do you have to pay for scratchers
- 27:55Speaker 4: and cash?
- 27:56Speaker 5: I think so wow?
- 27:58Speaker 3: Because it's gambling, I'm okay, I'm gonna scratch off my wind.
- 28:02Speaker 4: I've got to learn my rules here.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody, oh yeah, this is I never do this.
- 28:06Speaker 4: In any of your If any of your hands beat
- 28:09Speaker 4: the dealer's hand, win prize. Shown for that hand, uncover
- 28:13Speaker 4: the bonus bot multiplayer total.
- 28:15Speaker 5: Crowd that number.
- 28:16Speaker 4: Okay, I'm just gonna scratch them all off dealers.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Yeah, do I just scratch them all?
- 28:20Speaker 4: This is you really.
- 28:21Speaker 5: Can you can do it one by one. Let's see it.
- 28:23Speaker 5: No matches, Nope, no matches.
- 28:25Speaker 4: Okay, if anybody cares my my dealer's hand, he's got
- 28:28Speaker 4: a he's got two pairs of pairs of a pair
- 28:30Speaker 4: of sevens in a pair of fours.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Show us is going away here. I'm just gonna scratch
- 28:36Speaker 3: it then see yeah, me too.
- 28:38Speaker 5: What if I got no I got no anchors. Sorry
- 28:42Speaker 5: for this to try to us here.
- 28:44Speaker 4: This is a disaster.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I don't have a single little boat or on the shark.
- 28:50Speaker 3: I bet those are the big winners. Well five hundred,
- 28:54Speaker 3: ten thousand, okay on cover.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Not doing well?
- 28:59Speaker 5: No, no oh no, thirty nine.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Come on, I'm gonna have to have one of you
- 29:03Speaker 3: look at this because I, oh, this doesn't make any
- 29:07Speaker 3: sense to me.
- 29:08Speaker 4: This is I have one now you have you looked
- 29:11Speaker 4: at the I mean like, have you looked at the potential?
- 29:14Speaker 4: This is the thing about scratchers to me is like
- 29:16Speaker 4: if the lines you didn't win but if you look
- 29:19Speaker 4: at the prizes, for instance, like I could have gotten
- 29:22Speaker 4: seventy five thousand dollars gotten correct, that's a different you. Yes,
- 29:27Speaker 4: it's like a sliding door situation.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Right, And I have no idea what I could have
- 29:31Speaker 3: possibly won.
- 29:33Speaker 4: Shouldn't you want me to take away while I do this?
- 29:35Speaker 3: Other on my full that could be.
- 29:37Speaker 5: The one that could be the winner.
- 29:38Speaker 4: I still have a chance at a fast fifty over here?
- 29:40Speaker 3: Okay, okay, what's the most you've ever won on one
- 29:44Speaker 3: of these?
- 29:46Speaker 4: Like ten bucks, twenty bucks?
- 29:48Speaker 5: I think twenty bucks?
- 29:49Speaker 4: Okay, anyway, matching away here? What is it? What is
- 29:55Speaker 4: the game here?
- 29:55Speaker 5: Just match these numbers or get a symbol? So okay,
- 30:00Speaker 5: So if you see any of these numbers, which I
- 30:01Speaker 5: do not forty forty one, one, twenty four, carteen.
- 30:12Speaker 3: Wowteen chances to win, match any of your numbers.
- 30:16Speaker 4: Ten chances and scratch dust on you want?
- 30:19Speaker 5: Do we want this on the table?
- 30:20Speaker 3: We leave this permanent?
- 30:22Speaker 4: This is nice, This is part of the gift, and
- 30:24Speaker 4: that you could just.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Make it us rub it into the table. Okay, look
- 30:27Speaker 3: at this again. This is again I truly have no
- 30:29Speaker 3: idea how.
- 30:30Speaker 5: To full of five hundreds is what it says full
- 30:32Speaker 5: of five hundred dollars.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Right, so we should I guess just guaranteed five.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Us trying to match anything.
- 30:37Speaker 5: I think, so is anything?
- 30:40Speaker 4: Did we win anything today?
- 30:42Speaker 5: We have won nothing?
- 30:46Speaker 4: Thirty two?
- 30:46Speaker 2: What?
- 30:47Speaker 4: Oh?
- 30:48Speaker 5: God? Like you know usually when you win four cards? Yeah,
- 30:51Speaker 5: usually when we don't win anything, it's private and it's
- 30:56Speaker 5: like all alone. But now this is this.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Is lasted out to America World. Wait, hold on, oh
- 31:04Speaker 3: you're seeing something.
- 31:05Speaker 5: No, no, I'm not your numbers. Any of the numbers
- 31:08Speaker 5: win that prize uncovered. Now I thought I might have
- 31:11Speaker 5: gotten a ticket pre ticket.
- 31:12Speaker 3: But now this seems like a mistake on the lottery
- 31:15Speaker 3: commissions part, because it's like give somebody five dollars to
- 31:18Speaker 3: get them back to buy another.
- 31:20Speaker 5: That's typically what you went. Its like a free ticket
- 31:22Speaker 5: or a couple of dollars to.
- 31:23Speaker 4: Win another one.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Getting back to that counter, I have I think I
- 31:26Speaker 3: know wrong theory.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Okay, tell tell me your theory, because I have a
- 31:30Speaker 4: theory too. I'm going to give you a little background
- 31:33Speaker 4: in the gift buying process. Okay. I I thought the
- 31:37Speaker 4: variety would be fun, so I said I want four
- 31:42Speaker 4: five dollars scratchers I'm thinking the same thing.
- 31:44Speaker 3: I should have just gone the same category.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Yes, you're more likely to get a winner in there.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Yeah, you're really chopping down.
- 31:54Speaker 4: It's okay, Kyle, but that.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Also might be they might actually be both equally good strategy.
- 32:00Speaker 4: Jeez, I don't know who I just am now.
- 32:04Speaker 5: I'm kind of wishing that I was there. I kind
- 32:07Speaker 5: of wishing you picked me up. We made it, We
- 32:09Speaker 5: made this could have been amazing.
- 32:12Speaker 4: We talked about this last evening. I said I was
- 32:14Speaker 4: going to pick you up. We would go, and.
- 32:16Speaker 5: I threw a wrench in the plan with my workout.
- 32:20Speaker 4: It's more just though, like you know, I like the variety, right.
- 32:23Speaker 5: And I think it is fun. I mean, having the
- 32:26Speaker 5: Jaws one was really nice and people are people love
- 32:30Speaker 5: I p yeah.
- 32:31Speaker 4: Do you think mister Spielberg know about this interesting?
- 32:35Speaker 5: I'm sure he signed off.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Put on his desk. He has to look at every
- 32:40Speaker 3: Jaws related.
- 32:41Speaker 5: This fits the brand.
- 32:42Speaker 3: I love gambling, I love lot How do we get
- 32:45Speaker 3: Jaws in there? Why is Jaws?
- 32:48Speaker 4: Who's that for? Really?
- 32:50Speaker 3: Why is Jaws just now on lottery cars?
- 32:54Speaker 4: I don't know. I mean, I know it's it's the
- 32:56Speaker 4: intersection of like, yeah, some sort of like movie nerd
- 32:59Speaker 4: and gambling.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Right, love scratchers, Yeah, or I guess five year old
- 33:07Speaker 3: degenerate you fans. Oh yeah, the little there's like either
- 33:11Speaker 3: a shark or a boat, right and cover a boat?
- 33:14Speaker 3: I got neither.
- 33:15Speaker 4: Yeah, they're cute.
- 33:16Speaker 3: They should have had one other cute thing that everybody gets. Yeah,
- 33:19Speaker 3: just you know, because everyone likes to see a little
- 33:21Speaker 3: graphic econ of rig.
- 33:23Speaker 5: I mean, what if it was kind of like if
- 33:25Speaker 5: you if you uncover it, kiss you for the job,
- 33:29Speaker 5: kiss kiss Yeah, for the jobs, kiss the person closest
- 33:32Speaker 5: to you. So you could go over somebody who want
- 33:34Speaker 5: to kiss and be like, look at the kiss thing.
- 33:36Speaker 3: Yeah, kind of want fired by the gas station to
- 33:39Speaker 3: kiss you.
- 33:40Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, okay, so like it becomes more of an interactive.
- 33:45Speaker 5: Honestly, Okay, this is a new idea. Yeah, and we
- 33:49Speaker 5: own it. I guess your show would own it because
- 33:51Speaker 5: this is I and we come up with here is
- 33:54Speaker 5: yours is mine. But I'm talking I'm talking about social
- 33:58Speaker 5: real world scratch, real worldscra. So you bring him to
- 34:00Speaker 5: a party. I got a high five from whoever person
- 34:06Speaker 5: to my right or whatever, or like you have to
- 34:08Speaker 5: do this or do that or tell me this.
- 34:10Speaker 3: You should pursue this.
- 34:11Speaker 4: I should like a fun thing and you can just.
- 34:13Speaker 5: Bring a couple. You don't have to bring the whole
- 34:14Speaker 5: board game, but bring a couple.
- 34:16Speaker 4: I love it. Here's my only bump. Okay, my only bump,
- 34:19Speaker 4: which I think we can get over when you pitch
- 34:21Speaker 4: on it. The other part, they have to be willing participants, right, yes, right,
- 34:27Speaker 4: So like how do you determine. Is it like we're
- 34:29Speaker 4: going to play real world scratches right now or do
- 34:34Speaker 4: you just assume that like people are gonna be down.
- 34:36Speaker 3: I think it's you have to say everybody gets one, yeah,
- 34:38Speaker 3: and we're all committing to whatever happens.
- 34:42Speaker 5: Yeah, and you don't have to do it all at once.
- 34:43Speaker 5: But yeah, I think it's like an agreement, like it
- 34:45Speaker 5: has to be like a party or a get together,
- 34:48Speaker 5: so you have.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Like you have to go home. Yeah, so it's like
- 34:52Speaker 3: you're really rolling the dice.
- 34:54Speaker 5: So funny, like yeah, I had to go home, like
- 34:57Speaker 5: we kind of it was like thirty minutes in and
- 35:00Speaker 5: I scratched.
- 35:01Speaker 4: A house in my night got worth.
- 35:05Speaker 5: But it would create stories, yeah, and dynamics, it would
- 35:09Speaker 5: it would put a spin on.
- 35:10Speaker 3: There could be one like the host has to cancel
- 35:12Speaker 3: the party. Yeah, I mean there are all sorts of
- 35:14Speaker 3: things that could happen on this scratch. I mean, this
- 35:16Speaker 3: is something you should do. This is a nice second
- 35:20Speaker 3: showery Yeah.
- 35:21Speaker 5: I mean I would imagine that you have a creative,
- 35:25Speaker 5: ambitious audience. Do you think somebody's gonna.
- 35:28Speaker 3: Try to steal it before you? Yeah, well you've got
- 35:31Speaker 3: two weeks to get this off the ground, or at
- 35:33Speaker 3: least get the patent pending.
- 35:35Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I heard patents are hard.
- 35:37Speaker 3: Well, this is the other thing. I think of a
- 35:38Speaker 3: lot of ideas on this podcast, just basically setting traps
- 35:41Speaker 3: for lawsuits where I'm like, hopefully somebody does take the idea,
- 35:45Speaker 3: then I slam them later.
- 35:46Speaker 4: Oh that's smart.
- 35:47Speaker 3: So if they do the work, I get the money.
- 35:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:49Speaker 5: Do you think that would be that would hold up?
- 35:51Speaker 3: Well, I would fight for it, certainly. It would at
- 35:53Speaker 3: least take up some of my time yeah yeah yeah,
- 35:56Speaker 3: And I'm sure I've got a lot of free time.
- 35:58Speaker 5: And it could be content, yeah, it could be con clips, yeah,
- 36:01Speaker 5: whatever creates some good content.
- 36:02Speaker 4: You essentially just need to prove that they may have
- 36:05Speaker 4: listened to the podcast.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Yes, which I'm sure would be very easy to do. Yeah,
- 36:10Speaker 3: when you go through their internet history or whatever, it feels.
- 36:13Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, absolutely, I would love to create something something
- 36:17Speaker 5: like that that just goes getting right.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Where it's just like now that thing just just the
- 36:21Speaker 3: thing that I thought of and it makes me money.
- 36:24Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a really really this is a solid one.
- 36:28Speaker 5: You guys help me, Like honestly, you guys are a
- 36:30Speaker 5: part of it.
- 36:31Speaker 3: Like I couldn't have come up with it, but this
- 36:32Speaker 3: is this podcast is a think tank. Yeah really, it's
- 36:35Speaker 3: an idea show so that I need you to pursue that.
- 36:38Speaker 3: I'm shocked nobody has before.
- 36:40Speaker 5: I know.
- 36:40Speaker 3: That feels like the next big.
- 36:42Speaker 4: It's like you know what I'm what it's like, similar
- 36:44Speaker 4: to my head is like sex diced, Yes, yeah.
- 36:47Speaker 3: What's sex dice? And that seems like something from another
- 36:50Speaker 3: era that's an r Kelly.
- 36:51Speaker 4: Yes, I think like two thousand and three. Yeah, it's
- 36:57Speaker 4: it's like is it to die? I think it's like
- 37:01Speaker 4: you roll maybe roll two of them, one lands on kiss,
- 37:05Speaker 4: the other one lands on porso or something like that.
- 37:07Speaker 3: Oh interesting, right, there.
- 37:09Speaker 5: Are other little sexy games like that, but this wouldn't
- 37:12Speaker 5: be sexy. I mean, there could be some sexy stuff.
- 37:14Speaker 4: Sure, sure, but I'm just saying like this is Yeah,
- 37:16Speaker 4: I'm just comparing it to like.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Right, the randomness, the chance of social interaction. Yeah, you
- 37:22Speaker 3: have different layers. One could be deeply sexual, deeply sort
- 37:25Speaker 3: of parties where you just want things to go in
- 37:27Speaker 3: a direction that no one planned on.
- 37:29Speaker 5: Absolutely, Yeah, they could all different categories.
- 37:33Speaker 3: Children's party, families, getting a fight with mom, that sort
- 37:38Speaker 3: of thing.
- 37:38Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, children, that's great.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Get them kind of used to gambling early on.
- 37:44Speaker 5: Yeah, I get them hooked. Yeah, this is gonna be great.
- 37:47Speaker 5: I want to talk to somebody after this.
- 37:48Speaker 3: Yeah, you want to talk to talk to about this
- 37:50Speaker 3: sort of thing?
- 37:51Speaker 2: You know?
- 37:51Speaker 4: Maybe you think the guy at the convenience store.
- 37:53Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, just let me know where you went.
- 37:56Speaker 4: I'll go back and tell my plan. One's liquor.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Man.
- 38:00Speaker 5: So I've got an idea that I want you to
- 38:01Speaker 5: help me with.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Hey, so my friend Kyle came here earlier. Where do
- 38:05Speaker 4: you get these maids?
- 38:06Speaker 5: Because I actually want to do some social ones.
- 38:09Speaker 4: What I want to do like social scratchers. So wherever
- 38:12Speaker 4: you get these maids, sir? I want to make some
- 38:15Speaker 4: I have some ideas.
- 38:16Speaker 3: Where do they paint these paint.
- 38:20Speaker 5: That would be fun to get some of that that
- 38:22Speaker 5: scratcher paint.
- 38:23Speaker 4: Whatever.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Where does that come from?
- 38:25Speaker 4: Some factory?
- 38:26Speaker 3: It's got to be fascinating. It's I assume it's liquid. Yeah,
- 38:30Speaker 3: it's like such a specific type of thing. It seems
- 38:32Speaker 3: like the sort of thing that like was invented accidentally
- 38:34Speaker 3: by NASA.
- 38:35Speaker 5: Yeah right, I'm surprised there hasn't been like, you know, scratchers. Yeah,
- 38:41Speaker 5: they're awful for you. You scratch those things off, like
- 38:44Speaker 5: it releases clydo tortamine and it like reduces your.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Can I gets under your fingernails, into your blood street.
- 38:51Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, a couple of things I want to I
- 38:53Speaker 4: want to just sort of get into. I'm looking at
- 38:57Speaker 4: the back of the jaws scratchery here. This I did
- 38:59Speaker 4: not know, and I don't know if it's something I've
- 39:00Speaker 4: been missing out on in my whole in the last
- 39:02Speaker 4: few years. Scratching Second Chance. What's this for another? There's
- 39:09Speaker 4: a QR code for another way to win prizes. Scan
- 39:13Speaker 4: QR code to submit eligible non winning scratchers at California
- 39:19Speaker 4: Loottery dot com, slash second Chance or use the mobile app.
- 39:22Speaker 4: Mail and entries are not accepted.
- 39:25Speaker 5: So we could get the mobile app and maybe get
- 39:27Speaker 5: a second chance.
- 39:28Speaker 3: There's something so sad about and like, I need a
- 39:29Speaker 3: second chance on them, please.
- 39:31Speaker 5: I'm waiting to be approved for my second chance because
- 39:34Speaker 5: I don't feel like it was quite fair.
- 39:36Speaker 4: And it alsoys you play schools wins, so I guess
- 39:39Speaker 4: they're hoping that.
- 39:40Speaker 3: I mean, I do think that's kind of the thing
- 39:42Speaker 3: about the lottery right where it's like it doesn't help
- 39:44Speaker 3: public schools in some way. It's like we had to
- 39:46Speaker 3: find some good use for ruining people's lives.
- 39:49Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 39:50Speaker 5: Yeah, the schools get a couple dollars.
- 39:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I bet it's very small.
- 39:54Speaker 5: And it's very complicated for them to recoup it. It
- 39:57Speaker 5: just sits in an account and they're like, yeah, can't
- 40:00Speaker 5: really it's for schools, but there's no way to get
- 40:02Speaker 5: it to them.
- 40:03Speaker 3: It's like those box tops on the top of Cereal.
- 40:06Speaker 3: There are all these ways for public schools to make
- 40:08Speaker 3: money and they have to really fight.
- 40:09Speaker 5: For right is Yeah, it's so sad that that's how
- 40:12Speaker 5: they They're just trying to get anything they can.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Yeah, all of our education money is tied up in
- 40:17Speaker 3: the lotto, council and general mills essentially.
- 40:20Speaker 5: Yeah, it's safe there.
- 40:21Speaker 3: It's like safe trust.
- 40:23Speaker 5: They don't trust the teachers to use that on school suppose. No,
- 40:26Speaker 5: uh huh no, no no.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Are you two gamblers at all?
- 40:33Speaker 5: A little bit but not not really nothing regular Like
- 40:36Speaker 5: if I go to Vegas, I will set a certain
- 40:40Speaker 5: amount probably and then play around with that. But when
- 40:46Speaker 5: I've gone recently, it's it just kind of I lose
- 40:52Speaker 5: it kind of quickly, and I'm like, why why am
- 40:54Speaker 5: I doing this? It's kind I recognize that it's for.
- 40:57Speaker 4: The rush, and you feel a rush, fel.
- 41:00Speaker 5: The rush, and it's fun and it's exciting. But I
- 41:03Speaker 5: have I've actually done really good at blackjack.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Oh that's the one I think you potentially can do
- 41:08Speaker 3: well last Yes.
- 41:09Speaker 5: I mean because they can tell you everything you should
- 41:11Speaker 5: statistically do, like the house would hit or it would not,
- 41:14Speaker 5: and you can kind of like talk to your friends
- 41:17Speaker 5: and kind of feel feel the energy, take a little
- 41:19Speaker 5: bit of mushrooms, feel the energy, feel the flow. Yeah.
- 41:22Speaker 5: That's how I've I've won money. Yeah, yeah, yeah, just
- 41:26Speaker 5: kind of like okay, yeah, and then I went you know,
- 41:31Speaker 5: and I just yeah, that's what I want.
- 41:33Speaker 4: That's a beautiful stretch.
- 41:35Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, don't don't do the other. Don't do the
- 41:37Speaker 5: other hard drugs, drinking. Don't they try to liquor you up? No,
- 41:42Speaker 5: stay clear, play blackjack on math right, No.
- 41:45Speaker 3: Horrible mood.
- 41:46Speaker 5: Horrible mood. Tap into the energy of the universe. Have
- 41:49Speaker 5: some psilocybin.
- 41:50Speaker 3: Right, tears running down your face. That sounds nice. Oh interesting.
- 41:57Speaker 3: See that's the one that to me that you can
- 41:59Speaker 3: kind of trick your stuff into thinking you can do
- 42:01Speaker 3: well at but simply can't.
- 42:02Speaker 4: Right.
- 42:03Speaker 5: Have you have you won?
- 42:04Speaker 4: Oh? Yeah? Oh yeah, I would say. I'm yeah, I
- 42:07Speaker 4: and I don't. I mean, obviously it's luck based, but
- 42:10Speaker 4: I do think I have that some sort of sense
- 42:14Speaker 4: you have what it takes, you know, I'm moving things around,
- 42:17Speaker 4: like I'm looking at the chart, I'm seeing what's coming up.
- 42:20Speaker 5: Yeah, what about you? Are you a gambler?
- 42:22Speaker 3: Not at all? I mean it puts me in a
- 42:23Speaker 3: bad mood, and I know so little about it that
- 42:25Speaker 3: it's intimidating.
- 42:26Speaker 4: Ydting.
- 42:27Speaker 3: I was at the Palm Springs Casino last year and
- 42:29Speaker 3: I was intimidated by the slot machines. And there's no
- 42:32Speaker 3: other person involved with that. Yeah, but I was like,
- 42:35Speaker 3: I don't know how to use this, even I thought
- 42:37Speaker 3: you just pulled the lever, but now they're all electronics,
- 42:39Speaker 3: so it's like I love thee Yeah, so when you
- 42:43Speaker 3: take that away, what am I am? Looking at a
- 42:46Speaker 3: mobile game and the buttons terrible?
- 42:49Speaker 4: Yes. I feel like anytime you look at a slot machine,
- 42:51Speaker 4: like something will line up, but you just have no
- 42:54Speaker 4: idea what you're aiming for or if that's like, if
- 42:58Speaker 4: you do then sometimes you win. You're like, yeah, exactly
- 43:01Speaker 4: where right?
- 43:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not for me at all.
- 43:05Speaker 4: Yeah, but that's smart. That's the way to go.
- 43:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess it probably is. Yeah, well, but I
- 43:10Speaker 3: feel like setting a limit and being like this will
- 43:12Speaker 3: be fun and then my money will be gone. It's
- 43:14Speaker 3: the same as playing arcade games or something.
- 43:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:16Speaker 5: Yeah, and if you get a couple of hours of
- 43:18Speaker 5: entertainment and excitement, it's like going to an amusement park.
- 43:22Speaker 4: I was I was thinking of after this going to
- 43:24Speaker 4: buy baseball cards, going to buy packs of baseball cards,
- 43:27Speaker 4: which essentially is the same thing, like you're you're paying chance.
- 43:31Speaker 3: Yes, you may already own all of those cards, yes, right,
- 43:34Speaker 3: but I might get you never know what you're gonna pull.
- 43:36Speaker 3: Where would you buy a baseball card now?
- 43:39Speaker 4: Burbank Sports cards. Yeah, Burbank sports cars, Burbank sports cards,
- 43:45Speaker 4: Borts sports banks. But is that hard to say Burbank
- 43:47Speaker 4: sports cards, sports cards. No, No, no, Burbank sports cards.
- 43:51Speaker 4: It's something Burbank sports cards.
- 43:53Speaker 3: It's three vowels shapes that are very different from each other.
- 43:56Speaker 3: I think bur Bank Sports sports bank.
- 44:00Speaker 4: Card, work card.
- 44:02Speaker 5: Yeah, that's tough. There is one close to us in Rock.
- 44:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:07Speaker 3: Games and Cards dot com dot com kind of like
- 44:11Speaker 3: Yummy dot com our favorite.
- 44:14Speaker 5: Yeah, it's always good to put the dog about it.
- 44:19Speaker 4: Can you go in there?
- 44:20Speaker 3: You can go in there, But I wonder if you
- 44:22Speaker 3: have to buy it online before going.
- 44:24Speaker 5: I don't think so, because I've been into one once.
- 44:26Speaker 5: But it felt wrong. It felt like I was walking
- 44:28Speaker 5: into the internet. I don't know why. Maybe it's very
- 44:31Speaker 5: cool because of the story, just because then and I
- 44:33Speaker 5: was like, am I doing this wrong?
- 44:35Speaker 4: You know?
- 44:35Speaker 5: I was like, I don't know.
- 44:37Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I would never think I have to go
- 44:39Speaker 3: to the grocery store. I'll go to yummy dot com.
- 44:41Speaker 3: It's not what it's called.
- 44:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it's called that sounds like you need like a
- 44:45Speaker 4: portal to get in That's what I'm saying.
- 44:47Speaker 5: It's like it's just a name, but it did this
- 44:49Speaker 5: thing to my head where I was like, there, I
- 44:51Speaker 5: must be missing us, right, there must be some sort
- 44:54Speaker 5: of digital yeah, because like.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Just walking up to a cash register at yummy dot
- 44:58Speaker 3: com with like your produce, there's got to be one
- 45:00Speaker 3: more step between you and the cash register, right.
- 45:03Speaker 4: Yeah, it's not right.
- 45:04Speaker 5: I don't like it.
- 45:05Speaker 3: I don't like what was their deal. It was probably
- 45:07Speaker 3: just food delivery at some point.
- 45:09Speaker 4: I think that sounds right.
- 45:10Speaker 3: And now they have probably one and a half locations left.
- 45:13Speaker 4: Yeah, and I guess you can.
- 45:16Speaker 3: So just go to yummy dot com. Maybe they have
- 45:17Speaker 3: a message board. They should add that sort of thing
- 45:19Speaker 3: to the website.
- 45:20Speaker 5: Maybe get like a Patreon or something.
- 45:21Speaker 3: Yeah, support us, support our grocery store rough patriot.
- 45:25Speaker 4: I'm surprised we haven't been asked to do ads for
- 45:27Speaker 4: yummy dot com. Yeah, I don't know if.
- 45:30Speaker 3: The money is there.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Unfortunately.
- 45:31Speaker 3: I bet they were an early podcast at the time.
- 45:35Speaker 4: People, I don't know if you got if you had
- 45:37Speaker 4: any like sort of during the pandemic during lockdown, like
- 45:40Speaker 4: we were ordering nuts from nuts dot com.
- 45:43Speaker 3: Oh, I've almost ordered from nuts dot com.
- 45:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I know.
- 45:46Speaker 5: I never have never even thought about it, like you
- 45:49Speaker 5: needed that? Did you need that many?
- 45:50Speaker 4: Or there were specific guy, I don't know. That was
- 45:54Speaker 4: the turning point where it's like we got to get
- 45:55Speaker 4: some nuts in here? Where do we get them? And
- 45:57Speaker 4: it's like oh, nuts dot com.
- 45:59Speaker 5: Yeah, but not like grocery delivery.
- 46:01Speaker 4: Well it was that, it was Yeah, I don't know.
- 46:04Speaker 4: I think it was early on. I don't know what
- 46:06Speaker 4: we had, you know, neurosias and nerves about like kind
- 46:10Speaker 4: of in the groceries, but.
- 46:12Speaker 3: Needed specific types of nuts or whatever. I think I
- 46:16Speaker 3: eat a lot of brazil nuts, so I probably went
- 46:18Speaker 3: to nuts dot com give me some brazil nuts, and
- 46:20Speaker 3: then realized you could just buy nuts on any platform.
- 46:23Speaker 5: Yeah right, yeah, yeah, I mean seems specific.
- 46:27Speaker 4: I mean I know we're not We're like probably you know,
- 46:30Speaker 4: thirty years too late. But if there is a product
- 46:33Speaker 4: that doesn't have.
- 46:34Speaker 3: A web address, like like like oh, just some cyber squad.
- 46:39Speaker 5: Yes, I used to do that with with my buddies
- 46:42Speaker 5: John and Gabe.
- 46:42Speaker 3: Were cyber squads.
- 46:43Speaker 4: Well, they would like we would.
- 46:44Speaker 5: Get websites that we thought would be valuable. Of course, yeah,
- 46:48Speaker 5: none of them pay, don't you remember any of them?
- 46:50Speaker 2: No?
- 46:50Speaker 4: I don't.
- 46:51Speaker 5: A lot of them were jokes too, like get like
- 46:54Speaker 5: like chocolate chip wich dot com or something.
- 46:57Speaker 3: Like kind of safe though, that seems like it could
- 46:59Speaker 3: be some thing.
- 47:00Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, chip wich sandwich, chip wich, ice cream sandwich.
- 47:03Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, it feels like it either a way to
- 47:05Speaker 3: make money or just get sued.
- 47:06Speaker 4: By the company.
- 47:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 47:08Speaker 3: But at some point, yeah, I think there was like
- 47:10Speaker 3: that famous example of the guy ordered or buying pizza
- 47:12Speaker 3: dot com and then that that was his life. Yes,
- 47:15Speaker 3: his life's work essentially selling pizza dot com.
- 47:18Speaker 4: That's great and who needs Who got was it? You
- 47:20Speaker 4: think it's like a major corporation.
- 47:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I bet it was like one of our dominoes
- 47:25Speaker 3: or something.
- 47:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:26Speaker 3: I I recently because I missed good websites. I thought
- 47:30Speaker 3: website dot com would be a good and then have
- 47:32Speaker 3: like a classic website to use. You know, we all
- 47:34Speaker 3: missed just a website to go to. But I think
- 47:36Speaker 3: it was taken. So it's a shame, and it was
- 47:39Speaker 3: for no purpose. Of course, it's a bad website, right,
- 47:42Speaker 3: somebody needs to We just need one solid website.
- 47:46Speaker 5: It would be nice to have a like an old
- 47:47Speaker 5: like old school comedy website.
- 47:49Speaker 3: Yeah, just something you go to and you know you'll
- 47:51Speaker 3: what you're getting.
- 47:52Speaker 4: Yeah, what was your Yeah? What is your? What were
- 47:54Speaker 4: your Early Internet like sort of like.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Action middle school, a lot of looking up Nintendo video
- 48:02Speaker 3: games like n sixty four dot com. Then it like
- 48:06Speaker 3: bled into music with like Pitchfork, Dusted magazine is like
- 48:12Speaker 3: a review website, like through college, and then that's when
- 48:15Speaker 3: things started falling apart, when it became like there was
- 48:18Speaker 3: a brief period just a few years ago that Gawker
- 48:20Speaker 3: was good, like actually good writing, and then the money
- 48:24Speaker 3: fell out and now it's some scam. What were you
- 48:27Speaker 3: guys going.
- 48:27Speaker 5: To early Internet?
- 48:29Speaker 4: I mean I went to old school hip hop dot com.
- 48:32Speaker 3: Oh that's a cool one.
- 48:33Speaker 4: And I really liked website. Yeah, I liked I Like
- 48:37Speaker 4: I liked the cartoons my older brothers were into, like
- 48:40Speaker 4: so like this is nerdy, but like like Transformers wasn't
- 48:45Speaker 4: on TV anymore, but I got into like watching the
- 48:48Speaker 4: intros to like the Transformers cartoons that came out in
- 48:52Speaker 4: like the late eighties that I had never been exposed to, right,
- 48:55Speaker 4: And so I would search like those like things that
- 48:58Speaker 4: like now because of YouTube, are so easy to find
- 49:01Speaker 4: and prevalent, but like you would find a site dedicated
- 49:04Speaker 4: to this sort of like niche thing, and I'd like
- 49:06Speaker 4: download like a real player video of season the six
- 49:13Speaker 4: intro to Transformers, right.
- 49:15Speaker 5: I would do. I was like, I was just trying.
- 49:17Speaker 5: I was finding like sketches and specifically Mister Show season
- 49:20Speaker 5: three and four online. I remember, that's like what I
- 49:22Speaker 5: was doing in high school.
- 49:23Speaker 3: And what website would you go to? Would it be
- 49:26Speaker 3: like a Mister Show fan site?
- 49:27Speaker 5: No, it was just I would just go to Linme
- 49:31Speaker 5: download episodes and sketches.
- 49:34Speaker 4: Yeah, Napster Kazah yeah, but.
- 49:37Speaker 5: Full on websites. I don't really remember many early, like
- 49:41Speaker 5: maybe in college, just like the typical e bombs world.
- 49:45Speaker 4: There's like a very specific video from Ebomb's World that's
- 49:48Speaker 4: sort of like really imprinted in my head that I
- 49:51Speaker 4: have not watched since two thousand and four. Probably Yeah.
- 49:55Speaker 4: I wonder if either of you are aware of it.
- 49:57Speaker 4: I'm thinking no, but you could have been in a
- 49:59Speaker 4: room with you watching it. It's a video of, like
- 50:02Speaker 4: I want to say, three dudes in seemingly a dorm room.
- 50:07Speaker 4: Somebody's holding a camera and okay, but one of the
- 50:16Speaker 4: guys throws a pair of scissors at the other guy.
- 50:19Speaker 4: And it lands like I think in his hand or arm,
- 50:24Speaker 4: and then the guys, the guys like, why did you
- 50:26Speaker 4: do that? Look at that?
- 50:29Speaker 3: Look at what you did?
- 50:30Speaker 4: Why did you do that?
- 50:32Speaker 5: That sounds familiar. But I've also I feel like I've
- 50:35Speaker 5: seen other videos of people getting darts stuck in their Yeah,
- 50:39Speaker 5: They're all over the place. So I can't can't.
- 50:42Speaker 4: Say, I gotta find that scissors video.
- 50:44Speaker 5: You gotta find that, I bet.
- 50:45Speaker 3: I bet it's a famous video that like at some
- 50:47Speaker 3: point so many people had seen it because there were
- 50:49Speaker 3: like fifty videos online, so almost everyone would see these videos.
- 50:54Speaker 3: There was an early video like that that I remember,
- 50:56Speaker 3: like two moms in a fight maybe at an airport
- 50:59Speaker 3: about one of their kids having THHC in their system,
- 51:02Speaker 3: and then one of them just punches they want the
- 51:03Speaker 3: other one in.
- 51:04Speaker 4: The face, oh man.
- 51:05Speaker 3: And it was one of those early things where now
- 51:07Speaker 3: like you see way worse online where you're like, well,
- 51:08Speaker 3: I can't believe I'm seeing this.
- 51:10Speaker 5: Yeah, now I'm like, I don't know if this is
- 51:11Speaker 5: real or not.
- 51:12Speaker 3: Yeah, most of the time, it's not towards like it's like,
- 51:15Speaker 3: even if it is real, it was planned in advanced
- 51:18Speaker 3: ye or it's terrible. It's all ruined, essentially terrible. Yeah, well,
- 51:25Speaker 3: do we have anything to say about these cigarillos.
- 51:28Speaker 4: Cigarillo, Cigai. I think it's Cigarello, Cigarillo.
- 51:31Speaker 5: I don't know, Cigaurillo, I would say, but yeah, that's
- 51:36Speaker 5: probably more accurately.
- 51:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sure that's how it's supposed to be said.
- 51:38Speaker 4: Right, we did. But this is a popular item at
- 51:43Speaker 4: Script's Ranch High School circa nineteen ninety nine or two
- 51:47Speaker 4: thousand and three. I don't know if people were, yeah,
- 51:50Speaker 4: fucking with these people are fucking with new Trier not.
- 51:53Speaker 5: I mean, you know, I think they were trying to
- 51:54Speaker 5: steal like legit cigars from their dads, you know.
- 51:56Speaker 4: So you can, like but sometimes you could, like you
- 51:59Speaker 4: could smoke them obviously as they are, but you could
- 52:02Speaker 4: also I.
- 52:02Speaker 5: Don't want to inhale those. You could maybe, I think so, right, No,
- 52:06Speaker 5: inhaling on those. It's like a cigar that sounds right.
- 52:09Speaker 4: They're sweet though, their fairies.
- 52:10Speaker 5: You want that in your mouth. You want to switch
- 52:12Speaker 5: it around like a nice conyak.
- 52:13Speaker 4: But you could also slice it open and I think
- 52:15Speaker 4: and like sort of turn it into a quas eye blunt.
- 52:17Speaker 3: Yeah, right, that fine.
- 52:20Speaker 5: I haven't had a blunt in decades.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Yeah, probably, And this feels like so ready made. Yeah,
- 52:25Speaker 3: and there's something a little like contraband about turning one
- 52:28Speaker 3: of these.
- 52:30Speaker 5: That's pretty badass. That's like if you show up somewhere
- 52:33Speaker 5: and you like cut one of those open and you're
- 52:35Speaker 5: like rolling a big fat blunt. Yes, that's really so
- 52:38Speaker 5: you have like immediate street crowds.
- 52:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:40Speaker 3: People, I mean they're wondering, like what sort of choices
- 52:43Speaker 3: does this person make? Yeah, basically this this person.
- 52:46Speaker 5: Is the tip of the iceberg. What else is there?
- 52:48Speaker 4: Exactly? It is to me though, so funny that like this,
- 52:51Speaker 4: I don't know you guys felt what it was like
- 52:54Speaker 4: growing up, But like the idea of like sixteen year
- 52:57Speaker 4: old like sixteen year old like just like in like
- 53:01Speaker 4: kind of somewhat wealthy communities, like kind of smoking blunts.
- 53:06Speaker 4: I don't know something about it is very silly to me.
- 53:08Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like.
- 53:10Speaker 4: Listening to like the Chronic two thousand or something like that.
- 53:15Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah, but cigars were a big deal. And I
- 53:19Speaker 5: think in junior high or like no, like fourteen fifteen,
- 53:22Speaker 5: a lot of kids I went I went to Walgreens
- 53:24Speaker 5: once and stole a bunch of cigars. I went to
- 53:27Speaker 5: the bathroom and took off the security wrap and threw
- 53:31Speaker 5: it in the trash and put them in my pocket
- 53:32Speaker 5: and walked out.
- 53:33Speaker 3: The fact that you could just pick them up is crazy,
- 53:35Speaker 3: Like there was a time period when they were right.
- 53:37Speaker 4: Yeah, enough, it's just in the aisle open wow.
- 53:40Speaker 5: Yeah. And I would go to construction sites where they're
- 53:44Speaker 5: building new houses and like smoke cigars they were friend.
- 53:46Speaker 3: Oh I missed going into like a construction half constructed house,
- 53:50Speaker 3: just waddering around.
- 53:51Speaker 4: It's so fun.
- 53:52Speaker 3: I love that there's a slight element of danger. But
- 53:55Speaker 3: you know, if somebody shows up there, you haven't done
- 53:57Speaker 3: anything wrong, right right, they'll ask you to leave.
- 54:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I think they could. I think they could prosecute you.
- 54:02Speaker 5: I think they could turn the cops on you, and
- 54:04Speaker 5: you could. Yeah, it is trespassed.
- 54:06Speaker 3: I think as an adult it's probably a different situation. Yeah,
- 54:09Speaker 3: especially if you're like walking away with lumber or.
- 54:11Speaker 5: Yeah, there is stuff on those sites to kind of find,
- 54:13Speaker 5: you know, right right, sneak into.
- 54:16Speaker 4: The trucks and stuff. Yeah.
- 54:17Speaker 3: I when was the first time you smoked anything?
- 54:20Speaker 5: It must have been a cigar, like seventh or eighth
- 54:24Speaker 5: grade okay, yeah.
- 54:26Speaker 3: And was there like a pressure or were you the
- 54:28Speaker 3: did you spearhead the attempt?
- 54:30Speaker 5: I think I don't know if I spearheaded it, but
- 54:34Speaker 5: like there were other kids that were older and they
- 54:36Speaker 5: were like maybe I think I surprisingly. I think like
- 54:40Speaker 5: the parents were okay with us taking a couple of puffs.
- 54:42Speaker 8: That's interesting, yeah, because we weren't inhaling, right, And yeah,
- 54:47Speaker 8: I think I remember doing it around like junior high
- 54:49Speaker 8: graduation with some parents like you can have some puffs,
- 54:54Speaker 8: but don't inhale very French.
- 54:56Speaker 4: Yeah, right. I remember my first time smoking weed more
- 55:01Speaker 4: so than like a cigarette, and it was I don't
- 55:04Speaker 4: want to throw my brother out of the bus, but
- 55:05Speaker 4: it was a situation. I was visiting him in college huh,
- 55:08Speaker 4: at Berkeley, and I was doing a bit actually was
- 55:12Speaker 4: in eighth grade, and he had some sort of like
- 55:15Speaker 4: weird trinkets on his table and I said something like
- 55:19Speaker 4: is that do you do? You use those for your drugs?
- 55:22Speaker 4: And he's like, how long have you known that I
- 55:25Speaker 4: do drugs? And I was like, oh, I didn't know,
- 55:29Speaker 4: and then he smoked me out. Who did this?
- 55:32Speaker 5: Sean Sean?
- 55:32Speaker 3: Yeah, So he was initially like mad or felt like
- 55:37Speaker 3: you were felt.
- 55:37Speaker 4: I think he felt bad. I think he felt I
- 55:40Speaker 4: think there was like remorse that like you had disappointed you. Yeah, exactly,
- 55:43Speaker 4: you've known about this when like I was fully like
- 55:46Speaker 4: just messing around and then yeah, I smoked for the
- 55:49Speaker 4: first time and kind of haven't been the same since. Yeah,
- 55:57Speaker 4: it's okay to some people.
- 55:59Speaker 3: I never smoked a cigarette never, never, not once. But
- 56:03Speaker 3: I grew up in Mormon culture and like dare elementary
- 56:07Speaker 3: school culture, so it was like a double thing of
- 56:09Speaker 3: being afraid of cigarettes.
- 56:10Speaker 5: Right right, And I mean they really don't offer anything.
- 56:13Speaker 3: No appeal whatsoever.
- 56:14Speaker 5: When I when I first smoked a cigarette, it was
- 56:18Speaker 5: I don't know if this is a thing, and I'm
- 56:20Speaker 5: hesitant to put it even put it out there, but
- 56:21Speaker 5: it doesn't really matter. It's fine. But there was immediate arousal.
- 56:27Speaker 3: From smoking a cigaprees.
- 56:29Speaker 5: Yes, immediately, like whoa, like the first couple of times,
- 56:34Speaker 5: like and I think I did it by myself. What
- 56:37Speaker 5: I think, like there was like a pack of cigarette,
- 56:39Speaker 5: like I found a cigarette and like did it when
- 56:41Speaker 5: my parents were out, and it was it was a
- 56:43Speaker 5: wild experience. I mean it was like a what just.
- 56:47Speaker 4: The psychological tithe.
- 56:48Speaker 5: I don't else, I don't know, but I'm surprised. I'm
- 56:50Speaker 5: surprised I haven't heard about it more. But I was
- 56:52Speaker 5: like around the same time junior high.
- 56:54Speaker 4: Maybe it could it be tied in at all to
- 56:57Speaker 4: like imagery of people smoking cigaret it's after sex. Oh
- 57:01Speaker 4: that makes a little so okay.
- 57:03Speaker 5: No, no, because it was like it was it was chemical,
- 57:07Speaker 5: it was like, well it was fully whoa, that's crazy.
- 57:11Speaker 3: Yeah, this is the tobacco company's last secret.
- 57:14Speaker 4: You've not They should get it out. This is a
- 57:17Speaker 4: new plus for them. You no longer feel anything, unfortunately not.
- 57:21Speaker 5: I keep trying, but.
- 57:23Speaker 3: You're smoking more and more.
- 57:24Speaker 4: Come on, come on, do it just.
- 57:28Speaker 3: Burning through package?
- 57:29Speaker 4: Yeah? Yeah, one of these days. Baby.
- 57:33Speaker 3: Wow, wonderful And I've got something to smoke and no
- 57:37Speaker 3: winnings whatsoever. When was the last time you saw Jaws?
- 57:41Speaker 3: I saw it for the first time last years. Interesting experience.
- 57:44Speaker 5: What did you How did you receive it?
- 57:47Speaker 3: There was one scary part, the part with the dead
- 57:49Speaker 3: body in the water. Okay, the rest of the movie
- 57:52Speaker 3: did not scare me at all. And then there was
- 57:54Speaker 3: way too much of just men talking on a boat
- 57:56Speaker 3: to each other, just kind of connecting. I feel like
- 57:59Speaker 3: that could have gone away.
- 58:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I think there are people that specifically love that stuff.
- 58:04Speaker 3: Right, I'm sure, and they're wrong.
- 58:07Speaker 5: We want to see the shark want I'm here to.
- 58:10Speaker 3: Watch the shark do its thing r and watching Richard
- 58:13Speaker 3: Dreyfus connect on a human level or whatever. It's not
- 58:16Speaker 3: no interest.
- 58:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I think growing up, I mean I saw Jaws,
- 58:20Speaker 5: and it's I saw too early, okay, and I was
- 58:23Speaker 5: haunted by it, afraid of the ocean, the depths of
- 58:27Speaker 5: the ocean. But I remember, I think Jaws two even more, but.
- 58:32Speaker 4: It has more Jaws, it has more jobs.
- 58:34Speaker 5: And less emotional connecting with the older guys, and there
- 58:37Speaker 5: was like more gore and stuff. I think that's where
- 58:39Speaker 5: they kill him at the end, when he like bites
- 58:40Speaker 5: onto the electric rod and there's sailing there in a sailboat.
- 58:46Speaker 5: Oh yeah, like a water things three maybe.
- 58:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember that was definitely. Like my friend Matt,
- 58:52Speaker 4: we went over to his house and like we rented
- 58:54Speaker 4: all the Jaws movies, different sleepover nights and like sleepovers
- 58:58Speaker 4: the movies. It was. It's one of those like entry
- 59:01Speaker 4: level like like sounds and titles that it's like should
- 59:03Speaker 4: we rent jaws, like not knowing anything, but it's like, Okay,
- 59:08Speaker 4: that's going to be scary.
- 59:09Speaker 3: There's something sort of exotic about it. An adult Yes, yeah, right.
- 59:15Speaker 5: I remember I speaking of the rental days, I tried
- 59:19Speaker 5: to form one of my birthdays. We're having a sleepover.
- 59:21Speaker 5: I wanted to get Don't Be a Menace the Waynes
- 59:26Speaker 5: Brothers one to South Central Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.
- 59:29Speaker 5: Was that the full title, yes, and we wanted to
- 59:32Speaker 5: get that, but my parents or my older brother got
- 59:35Speaker 5: Don't Be a Menace Menace to Society instead, which is
- 59:40Speaker 5: like an R rated intense, you know movie, and it
- 59:46Speaker 5: was it was really intense. We started watching that when
- 59:50Speaker 5: I was way too young. We thought it was going
- 59:51Speaker 5: to be a comedy.
- 59:52Speaker 4: These kids like, oh no, were you did you with
- 59:58Speaker 4: your Mormon upbringing? Were you like kind of only how
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: what was the curation of like movies?
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: We were not allowed to watch R rated movies, and
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: there was like this I think they've kind of been
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: sued into oblivion at this point, but there was like
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: a business that would edit movies and rent them out
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: to people called the clean Flicks.
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: Oh wow.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: So there was a period of time where there were
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: like several movies I had seen R rated movies that
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: like watching them as an adult, I just didn't realize
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: there were huge chunks cut out of it. So I
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: think like the first really R rated movie I ever
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: saw was in high school. I was probably in I
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: think it was maybe twenty eight days later. M Yeah,
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: I don't think I saw a lot of R rated
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: movies prior to that. Occasionally I think my dad would
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: take us to movies, but it was just like, well,
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: I want to see this and I have these three boys.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: What else am I going to do with them? Sure,
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: we're going to the movies. And none of the movies
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: appealed to me whatsoever. But yeah, I think that's still
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: kind of a thing. You don't watch an R rated
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: film as a Mormon.
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: Interesting, wow and that and that, like wyeah, what is
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: the what gets cut out? I mean obviously like nudity,
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: I imagine violence.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: And this is where we get into some territory. Absolutely
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: no violence whatever we cut out, just nudity, your sex and.
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: Could you say the F word?
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: You can't say the F word? I think that's probably.
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: But violence was okay.
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: Violence is totally fine.
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: Of course, of course, of course, Yeah, classic the human body.
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: I don't want to see that.
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: We want to see the boobs and butts. Sure, there
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: are no penises. It's only been happening more recently. Wasn't
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: that thing like if there was a penis in a movie,
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: that would be like X rated.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that was.
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: Okay, Okay, guys, here are the rules. Here are the rules.
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: No penises, only boobies. Okay?
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: Do they vote, like it's a bunch of guys in
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: a room.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: How did they come to that decision?
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: Not allowed to see a penis in a movie?
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: And then how does it like, how have they changed
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: their minds on that? They like, let's get together and
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: talk about Dix again, just like.
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: Yeah, it's it's a board of guys, and they're like,
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: penises are approved, you guys, comedically if possible.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: And then I'm sure there's like an amount of time
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: that it can be shown. I think we have loosened
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: up quite a bit to the point of like they're
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: probably not timing it anymore, like counting the amount of
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: times that you see it. But there was a point
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: when I think it was like, well, if you see
- 1:02:32Speaker 3: a flash or a blink of one, that's fine.
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: You can get away with that. They could be PG
- 1:02:36Speaker 5: thirteen category.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: A penis right or a butt. Yeah, I've seen some
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: like G or PG movies with a butt. Really feel
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: like I've seen a commercial with a butt. To be honest.
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, we got to get the ratings rated.
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: That was PG thirteen.
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, that I remember. That was a big one.
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: As far as like if you were like a teenager
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: or like an elementary school or wait to you see Titanic?
- 1:03:05Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: Was there was there a boob and butt and that boom.
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: I know he drew her, but yeah, she's naked. She's naked, right,
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: But to.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: Be funny, if you didn't see her, you just trying.
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: And the drawing was kind of bad.
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: Is that what's that what he's seeing?
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: Or is he just not good at drying?
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: Does the public goes wild for It's.
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: A really good drawing. It's better than the real flick.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: That's something in movies. If a character is drawing something
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: will always be funny to me when the drawings revealed
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: like a sincere drawing, Yes, so stupid.
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: One of the funniest parts of the movie pop Star
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: to me is when Andy Sandberg's characters shows his drawings
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: of horses.
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: There's a there's also a great bit in road Trip
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: where Andy Dick I don't know what he's like working
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: at I don't know if it's a gas station or whatever,
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: but he's watching a bob Ross episode, which, like bob Ra,
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: you know, iconically is like at is painting these beautiful
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: like environments and trees and like yeah, a little dash
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: of green or whatever, and then Andy dig is going along.
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: It's just like a really shitty drawing version of the painting.
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: It's very, very funny to me, and I'm sure it
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: would be very the year two thousand and one, I'm
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: sure be funny in all of us.
- 1:04:22Speaker 5: But we gotta see it with the horses and pop star.
- 1:04:26Speaker 5: You gotta go. Can't describe these things not saying you
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: messed up. I messed up. You know, it's just not
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: gonna be as good as no.
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: No, oh, no, okay, I'm sorry, No, I'm sorry. No,
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: I think that. I mean, I feel like there's some
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: people out there listen to this like that sounds like funny. Ship.
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: I'm laughing already.
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: I can see it now, it's possible. The cheese, I
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: can see it now, the clouds.
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: Or I don't know perfect.
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: That's play the game.
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: That's I got it real quick. Yeah, Sam Louis obispo
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: great shirt. Thank you.
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: That's a I got this at uh in Highland Park,
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: at a place called Leader of the Pack. It's like
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: a nice little vintage store that's not too crazy price.
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: It's wonderful. Is it on York It's on York near Joy, Yes, Okay,
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: I'm wonderful. Can I tell you something that bothers me
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: about Joy? Please? I love Joy?
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: I love Joy, and I'd like to hear a complaint.
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: Okay, there's always a long line. Yes, But to me,
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: the delivery is perfect. I don't know why people are
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: spending so much time going into the rest.
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: I absolutely agree. I only get it delivered. I've never
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: been to the You've never been. No, I've been to
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: Pine and Crane right and love it. It's a great experience.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: I find the line of Pine and Crane more problematic
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: than a Joy, because, first of all, you have to
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: find parking in one of the worst parking situations on Earth. Yes,
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: and then the line could stretch around the building.
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: Joy, there's easy parking if you get there around six
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: to six thirty.
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: No, line, But I agree. Have you had both versions?
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: Yes, and I got to take it.
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: I've actually never eaten inside. You never eaten because the
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: line intimating, right, do they.
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: Ever have something at the restaurant that they don't have
- 1:06:21Speaker 5: available for delivery?
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: So you really it travels so well.
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: It really does travel well. I think that's it. And
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: it's like, yeah, I feel like you're getting the experience.
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: Yeah, and it's it's like become a staple of our rotation.
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: It's good. It's so good, and it's just like kind
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: of simple. You can get like the rice with pork,
- 1:06:40Speaker 5: rice with chicken, some greens and noodles. Yeah.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I've never had the omelet delivered. The pancake, oh
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: that work delivered?
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: Yes, very good, very good. I get it with everything.
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I always get everything. I can't imagine it without everything.
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: I know you need it all.
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: Listener, we're talking about a restaurant, right, Yeah.
- 1:06:58Speaker 5: It's one of the best.
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: We live in, would say, yeah, that makes sense.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: It's a breakfast end which yeah, you live I live
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: in Highland Park, Yo. Yeah, listener, if you're ever in
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: Highland Park, California and you want to wait in a line.
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: Joys the place to go. Go to Joy, but it's
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: a lovely place and it feels like they're almost doing
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: a public service because it's still affordable and it's still
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: very good.
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: Yeah, And your complaint does not really complain about the restaurant.
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: No, No, the food is great. I'm just like I
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: want to tell the people in line, like, just so
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: you know, you can have an alternative plan here, right,
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: you can do something else.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean complaining about the line there. Actually I
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: was there two nights ago, and this is a complaint
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: about human behavior where the line started getting long and
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: rather than waiting outside, everyone this group decided to start
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: just lining up around tables. So if they were just
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: standing with an inches of us in line, wouldn't if
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: the line was at to the door, would you decide
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: to wait outside the door or would you start to
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: fill up the restaurants?
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: Absolutely wait outside.
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: This kind of thing happened to me recently at Proof,
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: where I was like get Proof baker right, and I
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: was like getting some stuff with my son. They were
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: like there's a little area and I was like getting
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: some flowers and some I was like looking through some.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: Boat boat bouquets.
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: Bouquets an impossible word impossible, and people were like filling
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: in to get in line and getting in our way
- 1:08:18Speaker 5: and like congesting the restaurant. I was like, why are
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: you doing this? They just like wait until there's space
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: and you can just wait outside.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: So yeah, it makes me kind of irrationally angry.
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: Me too, I through some comments, why do this? You
- 1:08:30Speaker 5: had to get in?
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I started making like I vocalize some sort of complaints. Yeah,
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: probably just annoise.
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yay, very passive.
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: They'll be like, was that for me?
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: I'm kind of liking get closer to Okay, we're going
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: to play a game called Gift a Curse, but I
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: need a number between one and ten from.
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: You, from both of them together coming up? Yeah, oh yeah,
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: what if okay? Yeah yeah wait, sorry, we're saying the
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: same time. See if we have the same number. Okay, okay,
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on, Okay, I
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: want to I want to lock into you. Okay, I
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: have one, Okay, I have between two different options. I'm
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: trying to read where you're at. Okay, on three, we
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: go one, two three, then we.
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: Say yeah, one two three four.
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: That was my other one, dude, amazing job.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: Five five It feels like a five right, yeah, okay,
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: well I mean.
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: It means I thought you were gonna have three n six,
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: so really cool stuff.
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: It would have been incredible if you've had we've been doing.
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: We actually have found a couple of moments in our
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: course of podcasting where we have been like mentally locked in. Yeah,
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: got is just practice close. Yeah, we were really close.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll work on or just agree on one number
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: that you will always oh yeah, yeah, true, simple treat. Okay,
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: I have to do some light calculating to get our
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: game pieces right now. You could erect, commend, promote, do
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: whatever you want.
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: I'll be right back, okay, Okay, great listeners. Kyle and
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: I have an incredible podcast called What's Our Podcast where
- 1:10:09Speaker 5: we don't know what our podcasts should be about, so
- 1:10:12Speaker 5: we have a guest come on and they tell us
- 1:10:14Speaker 5: and we try it. We're always searching. We will never
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: not be searching.
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a fun chance for Beck and I to
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: hang out together. We've known each other since we were
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: eighteen years old. We worked on Saturnight Live together, which
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: was actually a really cool job. Yeah, it was really amazing.
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: With everybody in New York City. And if you think about, like,
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: to me, that's like sort of a comedy institution. I
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: think of like the old school era, and then there
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: was like different eras and just to be a part
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: of it was really really special. And to do it
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: with one of your friends you were obviously you've been
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: one of my friends.
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: Yeah, you've been one of my friends. And I made
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: many other friends there and I'm hopefully going to be
- 1:10:52Speaker 5: making more friends.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: We don't do the show anymore, no, No, we are not.
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: So now it's like sort of we're in the podcast.
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: So yeah, we've graduated and we've moved up a notch
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: to podcasting.
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: Now, so it's been really fascinating sort of learning the
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: ins and outs of each other.
- 1:11:06Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely the inns the outs, yeah, I've always known about.
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: But the ends are definitely pretty interesting. But we have
- 1:11:13Speaker 5: a lot of fun. So come check us out new
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: episodes every week Wednesday.
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: And definitely check out Motown.
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: We all we actually want to plug Motown. It's not
- 1:11:25Speaker 5: it's we want to make sure that people it's still
- 1:11:27Speaker 5: getting it's sort.
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: Of Arry Gordy's label, Yeah, because if they don't get
- 1:11:32Speaker 4: people don't keep listening to Motown. It will go away
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: and we don't want to go artists. Yes, not the
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: new ones, the old ones.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: The ones that are absolutely dead.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: Everyone go listen to that podcast. Their podcast is so wonderful.
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: And do you have anything to recommend?
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: I just don't.
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: No, I don't know. What I've been listening to a
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: lot recently is the first album from the Avalanche? Do
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: you know that album? Since You've been since I left you?
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: I listened to this once a year that it just
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: is on the radio or on my stereo of the
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: entire time. It's incredible, Classic Avalanches Since I left you? Now?
- 1:12:13Speaker 4: Do you get you? You're you have a recommendation almost
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: every episode?
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: Almost never I always forget oh really, So when I
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: actually can, I just kind of try to think of
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: what was I listening to on the way here? Essentially
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: all my memory is horrible.
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: And do you get a sense do you ever get
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: any interaction with your listeners of like, oh I like
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: that too? Or do you yes?
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: Yeah, which then puts on pressure to like do another recommendation, right,
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: It's like I don't want to let people down with
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: a bad wreck. No, So I'm very careful and just
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: can't remember anything so it keeps me safe.
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: And you really you did not like Jaws.
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: I liked parts of Jaws. I waited too long to
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: see Jaws.
- 1:12:55Speaker 5: That's a fun take. I'm sure you get a lot
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: of a lot of fights with you know, coming in
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: and be like, I gotta say it.
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: I don't like John just sucks. Just sucks.
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: Okay, We're going to play Gift or a Curse. I'm going
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: to name three things. You will tell me if there
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: are a gift or a curse and why, and then
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: I'll tell you if you're right or wrong because there
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: are correct answers. Okay, yes, and you kind of have
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: to come to a consensus on this, so okay.
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: We can do that.
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: It's act practicing our mind melding.
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: Yeah exactly.
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: But we can also like if we're can talk at place,
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: yeah yeah yeah.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: This first one is from a listener named Anna. Gift
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: or a Curse when a driver creeps alongside you in
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: a full parking lot then asks if you're leaving as
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: you walk to your car.
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: That hmm, interesting, Well, because you you if you are
- 1:13:39Speaker 5: walking to.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: Your car and you're leaving, you're not in the car,
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: you're you're walking to there, kind of following you.
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: I can't really see why how it could be a
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: gift because it's not like you need somebody to take
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: your parking spot. Yeah. To me, listen, I like the
- 1:13:57Speaker 4: act of I love helping people out right, and I
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: like the idea that somebody gets to take this thing
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: that is coveted. Right. Sure, but yeah, I do agree
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: with you that. I just you're you're putting pressure. Immediately.
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: I'm like, I'll be like behind the wheel, like fuck,
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: how quickly can I get out of you? I'm nervous
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: all of a sudden when I know that, like this
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: thing is in play.
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: Yeah, And I don't think I would go talk to
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: somebody and be like, hey where you parked leaving? Can
- 1:14:25Speaker 5: I get your spots?
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: Like I would just drive around.
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: Until I see them. I would maybe follow them like
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: kind of clock them, and if they go in, then
- 1:14:33Speaker 5: I'm like pulling up and putting my blank.
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: That's that's what that is. The I think that is
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: a common move. You just sort of park, put your
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: hazards on and then like.
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: But also like thinking like if you're a woman and
- 1:14:44Speaker 5: sure guy, like you're leaving like I'm gonna follow you
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: to your car. No, that's a curse. That sounds like
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: a horror movie. So I think we should say curse.
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: I think we agree. I'm working with you.
- 1:15:00Speaker 5: It's definitely a what is it wrongift gift?
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: That's what you and the drivers that you're in a
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: position of power. Now you can walk as and you're
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: getting you know, got eyes on you. You've got somebody
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: kind of taking a look and paying a little attention
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: to you.
- 1:15:16Speaker 4: You are twisted. You are twisted.
- 1:15:18Speaker 5: I think last time I was here, I got everyone wrong.
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: You think you've got to fight today? You absolutely got
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: to fight. No this And also, what a nice connection
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: you can make with another person.
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: Your give it.
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: You're doing the favor. You're saying, yeah, I can help
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: you out today.
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I do see that. We do need more human contacts. Yeah,
- 1:15:35Speaker 5: we are looking for it.
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: It kind of gives you whatever you want. You get
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: to make whatever you want of this situation. You can
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: torture them, you can help them out, you can just.
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: Maybe kind of go I wasn't going to leave, but
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: if you give me twenty bucks, will you.
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: Could threaten them? Yeah, you can demand payment. So it
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: is a gift. So you got one wrong and that's
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: fine so far. The second one is from a listener
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: named Marty Gift or a curse tall people at concerts.
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: Okay, now I want to say this is a curse
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: because really, but it seems like I get everything wrong.
- 1:16:08Speaker 5: I'm thinking about it backwards. I'm thinking about it like
- 1:16:11Speaker 5: too obviously or something. So let's talk this out. Tall
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: people at concerts. Why is it good about it? Yeah,
- 1:16:17Speaker 5: they're in your way.
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: Well, if we're going off the logic of like whatever,
- 1:16:22Speaker 4: I feel like I could be stretching here, but like, oh,
- 1:16:26Speaker 4: this is a chance for human interaction, kindness, et cetera,
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: et cetera, Like, oh, this is a person who gets
- 1:16:31Speaker 4: to experience this piece of art, right, and like that
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: in itself is maybe positive, right sure?
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: For them?
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: Yeah, well I'm arguably for the community who knows. Okay,
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: we'll see, But yes, I think that is the I
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: think that's the most positive thing I could think of.
- 1:16:49Speaker 5: Its tall person.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: Yes, you tall people at concerts.
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: People, you know, if you're with them and it's hard
- 1:16:57Speaker 5: to see, they could be telling you what's going on.
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: They could be like they're coming on stage, you know,
- 1:17:03Speaker 5: they're picking up the guitar they're waving to the audience.
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: That's if you're really short.
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: And you're with the most annoying tall person that's ever lived.
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: Kind of a kind of a R.
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: Kelly commentary at the concert. I have to I mean,
- 1:17:18Speaker 5: I feel like it.
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: I think it's I mean curse. We both immediately correct.
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: I mean, how could I possibly say anything different. I mean,
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: it's just been the curse of my life.
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: I was just in a concert a couple of months ago.
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: I was standing on a thing and the man was
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: still taller than me, really, and he wouldn't get out
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: of the play.
- 1:17:36Speaker 5: You know what I can't stand is the people who, well,
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: I don't know, the people who stand up and dance
- 1:17:42Speaker 5: when everybody's sitting.
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: Oh, you know that. I disagree.
- 1:17:46Speaker 5: I kind of go back on it because I'm like, great,
- 1:17:48Speaker 5: you should stand up and dance. This is wonderful to me.
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: See, I don't like the idea of like being seated
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: and being like, oh yeah, I don't like that. It's
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: sort of like giving like kind of the royal court.
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I know, I know, but it's.
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: I feel like there's like an in between where, like
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: people know, you start to feel that everyone's going to
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: start dancing, so somebody sends up and then it happens quickly.
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: But if one person's just dancing and no one has
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: stood up, sure something's wrong.
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:18:15Speaker 5: And it's even more so less that they're in my
- 1:18:18Speaker 5: way and more so that they have become a side show. Yes,
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: I have to look at this for me, and they're
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: bad dancing and showing me how much they're enjoying it,
- 1:18:26Speaker 5: how much it means to them.
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: Yeah, you can picture them telling people I love live music, right, Yeah,
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: it's that personality.
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: Yeah. I think it's maybe also dependent on like the act,
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: the musical act, Like is this danceable music? Is this
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: music that like people should be dancing too, versus like
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: there's no need to be dancing right now?
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: Yeah, you're doing this for yourself attention? Yes, yeah that's terrible.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: So you got the point, You got the point on.
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: The s's for you And at the end, what happens
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: with all the points You get to do whatever you
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: want with them.
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: Yeah, we can buy stuff in the store.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: You could go to the general store. The I said
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: no gifts generals Okay. This final one is from a
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: listener named Lonnie Gift or a curse Astrology.
- 1:19:09Speaker 5: I will say right away, I love the name Lonnie.
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: Lonnie is a great name. I think that's a solid name.
- 1:19:13Speaker 5: There was a guy who ran the like cheeseburger like
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: he didn't run it, but he was like one of
- 1:19:19Speaker 5: the main guys that are like local cheeseburger and like
- 1:19:21Speaker 5: ice cream place. His name was Lonnie.
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: It's a classic name, classics, really cool.
- 1:19:25Speaker 5: Yeah, Lonnie was really nice for something I don't know.
- 1:19:28Speaker 5: I didn't know him very well at all.
- 1:19:30Speaker 4: And so like here he is like to surround all
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: the cheeseburgers.
- 1:19:32Speaker 5: And all the cheeseburgers and fries and like cheese.
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: That's amazing. I think I think I knew a guy
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: like that.
- 1:19:39Speaker 5: Yeah, his name was Lannie.
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: That's fucking amazing. Great story.
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: B again coming in with the.
- 1:19:49Speaker 7: Guys.
- 1:19:50Speaker 5: The ice cream burger place.
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: I remember an old I remember Lonnie from growing up.
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: Actually sort of a cheeseburger based restaurant, kind of a
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: kind of a meat and cheese based burger restaurant. I
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: believe they served ice cream there as well. Yeah, now,
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: what was the name Astrology?
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: Actually the name is Lonnie. The gift of a curse
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: is astrology.
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: To me, I'm going, I'm my I'm all gift.
- 1:20:17Speaker 5: Kyle Is kyle Is is tapped in.
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: You're a big astrology person, I I say, you're astral. Yeah,
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: you're on the plane you are.
- 1:20:28Speaker 5: Astral, I said, making.
- 1:20:32Speaker 4: My feeling is whatever can give people hope. And I
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: feel like in terms of like you know, what's what's
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: your sign? What's your sign? It's a way to connect
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: with people. And I do typically your sounding. I love
- 1:20:55Speaker 4: that right right right to me, I feel like it's yeah,
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: it it serves a similar purpose to religion, and like
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: obviously there's a lot of it, a little bit negativity
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: that comes with religion, and there have been wars, et cetera,
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: et cetera, but like it gives people hope, and that
- 1:21:21Speaker 4: to me is a positive thing. I think most I
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: think largely like you're reading your horoscope to be like
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: maybe something good will happen today.
- 1:21:29Speaker 5: Yeah, not like great, something bat will happen. You're not
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: going to it to be like all.
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: Right, what shit's gonna happen? I get how that could
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: be a trap too, Yeah, and it could be.
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: Yes, I will say, though this is kind of adjacent.
- 1:21:44Speaker 5: You've gotten you're a little you're into the astrology, the
- 1:21:48Speaker 5: tarot cards, the numerology, and you said that this is
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: your enemy year.
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: Yeah, oh you create new enemies or your enemies thrive.
- 1:21:59Speaker 4: What happens. It's it's just a year where you sort
- 1:22:02Speaker 4: of have to like kind of lay low, Oh, it's
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: it's a bad it's a bad the year. It's not
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: that you're doing yeah exactly, yes, yeah, yeah, and it's
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: proven to be right.
- 1:22:15Speaker 5: Interesting. I looked it up because it's my enemy or
- 1:22:17Speaker 5: two and I was kind of like my thing was
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: after talking to Kyle about this, It's like, huh interesting
- 1:22:24Speaker 5: and then I kind of go like, no, like I
- 1:22:26Speaker 5: get to have whatever year I want.
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: I'm going to take what I want. Yes, I'm going
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: to stand up for myself absolutely, I think good way
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: to look at it.
- 1:22:34Speaker 5: I'm going to create my own luck.
- 1:22:37Speaker 4: And I listen, I'm not I'm not succumbing. I'm not
- 1:22:41Speaker 4: like surrendering to the enemy of it all right, But
- 1:22:45Speaker 4: I'm just saying like things are adding up.
- 1:22:49Speaker 7: Way.
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: Yeah. I was feeling like, Okay, I can see some
- 1:22:52Speaker 4: legitimacy to this, to this concept.
- 1:22:54Speaker 5: Because of our Patreon numbers.
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: That is one thing. Yes, by the way, patroon dot
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: com support.
- 1:23:03Speaker 3: Patreons don't support us support. It's a great service by stocky.
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: You might want to pay five dollars a month for
- 1:23:13Speaker 5: not us necessarily anybody.
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: So you're gonna say a that's how I feel. But
- 1:23:20Speaker 4: like I am willing to go with curse if you
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: think that, like, I'm willing to go curse for the
- 1:23:27Speaker 4: sake of the game.
- 1:23:27Speaker 5: If no, I think, I think I'm gonna go with you.
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, so we're going to say gift correct, correct,
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: That is a huge relief.
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: I think it's wonderful.
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: It's fun, it's fun to play. Yeah, who cares if
- 1:23:40Speaker 4: it's real or not. It's like it's a little something.
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: It's a little something.
- 1:23:43Speaker 3: Do they still sell the little wrapped up once at
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: the grocery store?
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: They must that, I miss, I don't recall.
- 1:23:49Speaker 5: The wrap almost look.
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: Like a cigarette. Oh yes, and you like a cigarello, Yes, exactly,
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: a cigareo.
- 1:23:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: I haven't seen them in a while, and I loved those.
- 1:24:01Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:24:02Speaker 4: Yeah, no, it's a nice thing to break the ice.
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: What is your sign?
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: Libra?
- 1:24:07Speaker 4: Okay, me too, that's the thing. I love asking the question.
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: But I don't know anything.
- 1:24:11Speaker 4: About I know, I wish I had more impact.
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: But I'll buy into whatever anybody tells.
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: I know that my wife and daughter are both geminis
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: and like that. I can wrap my head.
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: They're like the dual, right whin.
- 1:24:23Speaker 5: Yeah, we have the birth book.
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: Oh I got that on this podcast.
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: Really. I love that.
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: It's incredible. It's very fun to.
- 1:24:33Speaker 5: Read, very fun to read, and it's sometimes it lines
- 1:24:35Speaker 5: up so well.
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: Yeah, and just seeing who else was born on your
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: birthday and that sort of thing a good thing to
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: have a rout.
- 1:24:42Speaker 4: Who do you have? I got Beyonce and baseball player
- 1:24:47Speaker 4: Mike Piazza.
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: Oh wow, I actually don't know who I have.
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: I think maybe John Lennon.
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: That's cool, feels maybe are you waiting? Don't tell me
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: your date? December seventh or eighth?
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: I mean I could have just stopped you. December October ninth,
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: October first date that John Lennon was murdered.
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: I think it was.
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: Oh that makes sense, it's horrible winter day. Yeah, wait,
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: when's your birthday?
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: You know what? My mother was in labor on Labor Day,
- 1:25:22Speaker 4: September fourth. Very cool.
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: Also that movie Labor Day where I think a guy
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: escapes prison. To make a peach pie or something.
- 1:25:31Speaker 4: Remember this.
- 1:25:31Speaker 5: I don't remember this.
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: I remember seeing a trailer where a guy escaped from
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: prison and then they're kind of just like in an
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: intimate position making a peach pie. And this came out in.
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: The last It's not one of those ensemble like Valentine's Day. No,
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: it felt very much just like two people. Interesting and
- 1:25:45Speaker 4: I think it was called labor Day.
- 1:25:47Speaker 5: I have to see this.
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: It sounds incredible. I've made a good pitch for it. Yeah,
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: I sold you on.
- 1:25:52Speaker 4: Well you got two out of three.
- 1:25:53Speaker 5: That's fantastic, incredible.
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: All right, let's answer a listener question here. People are
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: writing into I said, no gives a Gmail dot com
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: just kind of begging for answers. This is hybridser and controversial.
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: Guest made a swing there. My husband's thirty second birthday
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: is coming up, and I don't know what to get him.
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: I thirty seven.
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: I was like, a thirty second birthday?
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: Wow, who's heard of such a thing?
- 1:26:18Speaker 4: Thirty seven or thirty second?
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: Thirty second seconds?
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: Yeah? Righty, do you understand what I thought? I thought
- 1:26:26Speaker 4: it was so many seconds?
- 1:26:29Speaker 5: He gets a birthday here, like he wants a thirty
- 1:26:32Speaker 5: second birthday party.
- 1:26:34Speaker 4: Oh like okay, right, I was like, what is that?
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: And I heard it as like I'm turning to again
- 1:26:41Speaker 4: for the thirtieth thousand, his thirty neuro diverse.
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: Oh wait what, I'm two again?
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: Oh no, I'm too again.
- 1:27:02Speaker 5: A penny a pen or a penny.
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: An it's going to break you.
- 1:27:09Speaker 5: Literally don't even make them anymore.
- 1:27:10Speaker 4: You don't need that. Well, that's true, knows, I have
- 1:27:12Speaker 4: my I have my decks. I'm going to be thinking
- 1:27:15Speaker 4: about the penny. Here, here's a nickel.
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: This man's turning thirty two and she doesn't know what
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: to get him. I'm unemployed and feel weird spending money
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: on him. We have a toddler and he works a
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: lot from home. He loves nice things, but we were
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: saving up for a new deck. I'm lost. Please help
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: love you deeply. That's from Sarah So, her husband is
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: turning thirty two years old. They're they're already saving up
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: for a new deck. She does not want to spend
- 1:27:42Speaker 3: any money on him.
- 1:27:44Speaker 4: No money, what is that?
- 1:27:44Speaker 3: They're obviously in a fight.
- 1:27:46Speaker 4: Is that like less than a dollar or less than
- 1:27:49Speaker 4: one hundred dollars?
- 1:27:50Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:27:50Speaker 4: Interesting?
- 1:27:51Speaker 5: Right?
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: Like she doesn't want to go big, or she wants
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: to make something at home, right, so she should have
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: given that detail. That's the first interpret email I thought,
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: just like not a lot, yeah, yeah, you know, fifty
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: bucks just you know, within that range, or something made
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: at home, or maybe something for the deck.
- 1:28:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I was thinking of something for the deck.
- 1:28:13Speaker 4: First thing I went to think of was a it
- 1:28:15Speaker 4: was an outdoor like a little pizza oven.
- 1:28:17Speaker 5: But that's expense.
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's if you get one under fifty dollars,
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: you're in trouble.
- 1:28:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:28:21Speaker 5: Was going to say, maybe check out Facebook marketplace. Oh yeah,
- 1:28:25Speaker 5: used Nie.
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: Right, but then why are they selling?
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: Yeah exactly. You can't trust the valves.
- 1:28:30Speaker 4: My instinct, which is just to me, like the most
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: down the middle gift that is a home brewery kit.
- 1:28:39Speaker 4: But that's a lot of work.
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: It feels like you're giving someone an entirely new hobby.
- 1:28:43Speaker 5: Yeah it's a lot, Kyle, like, it's a lot.
- 1:28:47Speaker 4: But what see? And I guess you guys had this
- 1:28:49Speaker 4: experience with the wooden spoons. Yeah, a little bit. But
- 1:28:51Speaker 4: to me, like it's like, yeah, but now it's on you,
- 1:28:54Speaker 4: like this is your chance to get into something.
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: Sure, I've opened a door for you. Yeah, if you
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: want to walk through great. Yeah, and he loved me great.
- 1:29:01Speaker 5: And it's more almost a gift for her if she
- 1:29:03Speaker 5: wants to nag her husband a little bit and be like,
- 1:29:06Speaker 5: are you gonna bris some beer?
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: I haven't seen you open the kit So this nagging
- 1:29:10Speaker 3: wife if.
- 1:29:12Speaker 5: You want, if she wants to be naggy and spend
- 1:29:15Speaker 5: no money, you want to be a naggy.
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: What you know? What I like? Which I think I
- 1:29:21Speaker 4: don't know, maybe this is too niche what what plaid
- 1:29:25Speaker 4: on us? Because like give certificates. Here's the thing, Like
- 1:29:29Speaker 4: it could be too broad, right, but I like an
- 1:29:33Speaker 4: eBay give certificate. Oh interesting, because you can get all
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: sorts of weird things.
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: Right for the price. You know, it's you can find
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: all kinds of things for her fifty but.
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: Whatever you're into, whatever he's into. Like it's like, I
- 1:29:46Speaker 4: want a vintage race car.
- 1:29:50Speaker 5: Poster, right, that sounds great?
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: And if he's a shrewd bitter on there, he could
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: get several objects yeah for me.
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: Honestly, it's so I don't know, we don't know much
- 1:30:01Speaker 5: about this guy.
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: They have the deck, they've got the deck coming up,
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: and that's about it, right, And she's sick of spending
- 1:30:06Speaker 3: money on him.
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: I think a cool, old school like sports car poster.
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: Okay, interesting, just took Kyle's idea.
- 1:30:16Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm supporting Kyle's idea.
- 1:30:18Speaker 4: But you're skipping the like gifts, right, and you're saying,
- 1:30:22Speaker 4: like the gift is the poster. That's what you like
- 1:30:24Speaker 4: the most.
- 1:30:25Speaker 5: Right?
- 1:30:26Speaker 4: Did you have Do you have any race car posters?
- 1:30:28Speaker 5: No?
- 1:30:28Speaker 4: I had a fucking beautiful.
- 1:30:31Speaker 9: Like yeah, sports like It wasn't I don't know if
- 1:30:35Speaker 9: it was a Lamborghini, but it's like right in my room,
- 1:30:37Speaker 9: like you know, like on like a checkered floor, like
- 1:30:40Speaker 9: kind of dark room.
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: When I'm older, I'm going to be driving that.
- 1:30:47Speaker 3: Can you imagine driving a lamp Ki.
- 1:30:50Speaker 5: They're bad, They're supposed to be not good. You can't
- 1:30:53Speaker 5: drive him around.
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: No, that's not a practice.
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: Wasn't in the cars. It was just like I need
- 1:30:58Speaker 4: to have a car poster.
- 1:31:00Speaker 5: Yeah, you're like, this is what guys do?
- 1:31:02Speaker 4: People know?
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: I'm aware of this object.
- 1:31:04Speaker 5: I'm cool and tough and I want a hot rod.
- 1:31:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: I don't think I ever had a car poster. I
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: bought an old Lamborghini poster a few years ago at
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: Goodwill in Palm Springs, thinking, but now it's just sitting
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: in my closet because where does that go.
- 1:31:18Speaker 4: In a home? Right?
- 1:31:19Speaker 3: Yeah, but it was a fun thing to look at
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: for a minute. Old Lamborghini.
- 1:31:23Speaker 4: Yeah, you know you got of course you gotta go
- 1:31:26Speaker 4: to the thing of like, do we frame it?
- 1:31:28Speaker 5: Right?
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: Am I spending money?
- 1:31:29Speaker 4: Am I spending six hundred dollars to frame this dollar?
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: Looking up a picture of a Lamborghini?
- 1:31:37Speaker 5: I thought I had good like a gift section on
- 1:31:42Speaker 5: my phone.
- 1:31:43Speaker 4: Oh, just like gift ideas.
- 1:31:44Speaker 5: You know what's really good? It's an amazing gift. The
- 1:31:47Speaker 5: seat wedges in between your car and the middle console
- 1:31:51Speaker 5: put the little do you know about these? Oh it's
- 1:31:53Speaker 5: a stop, something like a stop. It was like a
- 1:31:56Speaker 5: shark take thing. But you put it in there so
- 1:31:58Speaker 5: you no longer you drop your phone in between and
- 1:32:01Speaker 5: under your wedge.
- 1:32:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:32:03Speaker 5: It puts in a wedge that it takes away the gap.
- 1:32:06Speaker 4: The gap. Yeah, and kind of.
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: Doing the car company's drop for them.
- 1:32:09Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, really and they because they don't make them,
- 1:32:11Speaker 5: but this other company does.
- 1:32:13Speaker 4: And it's a lifesaver.
- 1:32:15Speaker 5: That's great because like you're driving, you're looking at directions,
- 1:32:17Speaker 5: you drop your phone.
- 1:32:18Speaker 4: It's like awful.
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: Then when you're fishing it out, you're scratching your hand
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: under the chair. Yes, terrible feeling.
- 1:32:25Speaker 5: So those are like ten bucks then they're they're incredible.
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: Little fixes like that are nice gifts.
- 1:32:31Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe maybe call it little fixes, little fixes and
- 1:32:34Speaker 5: get them one of those and maybe maybe another little.
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: I talk about I got a car garbage can on
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: this show once and it changed my entire life.
- 1:32:40Speaker 5: I want to get a car garbage can too. I
- 1:32:42Speaker 5: think car garbage can little stoppers, the stopper and maybe
- 1:32:45Speaker 5: even a one of those big water bottle holders that
- 1:32:49Speaker 5: adapt to the cup holder that it's bigger change their
- 1:32:52Speaker 5: life because they don't hold anything that doesn't know.
- 1:32:55Speaker 4: How big is a car garbage can?
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: It's probably like this listener, it's like ten by ten inches.
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: How many cans is that?
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: I bet you could fit if you're crushing them in there?
- 1:33:08Speaker 5: Eights supposed to be emptied regularly. There are different sizes
- 1:33:11Speaker 5: of there are little ones for like little pieces.
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: Oh interesting, Yeah, wrapper, they can go.
- 1:33:15Speaker 5: In the Yeah, they can go in the door. You
- 1:33:17Speaker 5: know that's off in a pocket in the door. Are
- 1:33:18Speaker 5: you doing the one that is like sort of on
- 1:33:21Speaker 5: the passenger on.
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: The passenger side, hanging on the back. Yes, so I
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: can kind of just reach and put my garbage in there.
- 1:33:27Speaker 5: I think that would be so that. I think that's
- 1:33:29Speaker 5: what it is.
- 1:33:30Speaker 3: I think there's the car combo, yes, and maybe the
- 1:33:33Speaker 3: poster post.
- 1:33:34Speaker 5: I think you could get that fifty dollars. Yeah, four gifts,
- 1:33:36Speaker 5: it's the car package.
- 1:33:37Speaker 4: Yeah, whatever you guys want.
- 1:33:39Speaker 5: Hey, we took your idea.
- 1:33:41Speaker 4: No, no, it's like kind of changed. But that's wherever
- 1:33:43Speaker 4: you guys want. No, okay, eBay gift certificate. Thank you.
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: Well we answered the question perfectly, and I hope she
- 1:33:53Speaker 3: doesn't right back in and now I've got all my gifts.
- 1:33:56Speaker 4: This is so lovely.
- 1:33:57Speaker 3: I didn't win any money, none of us. I mean,
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: it's kind of good that we don't have to figure
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: out how to share the money.
- 1:34:02Speaker 5: Yeah, that would have been complicated.
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: That have gotten contentious pretty quick.
- 1:34:04Speaker 4: We still we do have the second chance, though, don't
- 1:34:06Speaker 4: forget and I will.

- 1:34:25Speaker 3: all new sweepstakes. You know, there was a period when
- 1:34:27Speaker 3: you could like open the candy bar wrapper and it
- 1:34:29Speaker 3: told you if you won. Yeah, and now you have
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: to go to the website.

- 1:35:06Speaker 4: high five or shake?
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: What does that have to do with the lottery? Two
