- 0:17Speaker 2: and by Luna and Symetra.
- 0:20Speaker 3: One more games ago before we pause for the Winter Olympics,
- 0:23Speaker 3: and this evening in Los Angeles.
- 0:25Speaker 1: It's all about a quick reset.
- 0:27Speaker 3: After a night that we awry twenty four hours ago
- 0:30Speaker 3: that was too deep to overcome an Orange county.
- 0:33Speaker 1: So can short term memory and page turning theories work
- 0:37Speaker 1: this evening.
- 0:38Speaker 3: A pleasant and happy Wednesday to you wherever you may be,
- 0:41Speaker 3: and welcome to Seattle Crack and Hockey live on the
- 0:44Speaker 3: Global Credit.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Union Crack and Audio Network.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Your pregame show was served up by Prospered Corpse Light
- 0:49Speaker 3: Choose Chill last tonight from Crypto dot Com Arena, the
- 0:52Speaker 3: final game before the Olympic break. Coming up with the
- 0:54Speaker 3: Seattle Crack and to take on the Los Angeles Games.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Glad to have you, Mike Benton out with you high
- 1:01Speaker 3: at top ringside here inside Crypto dot Com Arena. Everett
- 1:04Speaker 3: Fitz Who's got TV duties here for this evening as
- 1:07Speaker 3: a Kraken beginning at New Year's Day, face nineteen games
- 1:10Speaker 3: in thirty five days out since then ten to six
- 1:13Speaker 3: and two record. That's their best right now in the
- 1:15Speaker 3: Western Conference for that entire spam. But last night in Anaheim,
- 1:19Speaker 3: it didn't leave a good taste and many mounts here
- 1:21Speaker 3: of the Crack and walking out of the building.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Last night down as much as for nothing.
- 1:25Speaker 3: They got two quick goals laid so too little, too late,
- 1:28Speaker 3: and what was the four to two loss.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Well, Mike, you hope it's an anomaly game in that
- 1:32Speaker 4: Anaheim lost last night. It was a terrible start for
- 1:34Speaker 4: the Crack at the end of the first period down
- 1:36Speaker 4: excuse me, tiede zero zero, But it just was not
- 1:39Speaker 4: a good start. And then obviously in the second period
- 1:41Speaker 4: Anaheim took over with two goals. It wasn't until late
- 1:44Speaker 4: in the game where you saw Seattle push to try
- 1:47Speaker 4: and get back into it and they made it close.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Cracking coming in right now trying to get this turned around.
- 1:52Speaker 3: At twenty six, twenty and nine point total last sixty one.
- 1:55Speaker 3: This is a big game because one point separates them
- 1:58Speaker 3: and the Kings. The Kraken coming into in the second
- 2:01Speaker 3: wildcard spot in the Western Conference, the question bears can
- 2:03Speaker 3: the top line get it going once again? Jared McCann,
- 2:06Speaker 3: Manny Beniers Jordan Eberley at a point per game against
- 2:09Speaker 3: the Kings this season. Jared McCann tonight will play in
- 2:12Speaker 3: game seven hundred of his NHL career. Ellie Tolben in
- 2:15Speaker 3: game four hundred and some more movements. We see Oscar
- 2:18Speaker 3: Fisker Mulgard on the ice recall this morning from ahl
- 2:22Speaker 3: Coachello Valley.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Yeah, he'll center that fourth line for Seattle and that'll
- 2:25Speaker 4: add a spark to that line, which you know, like
- 2:28Speaker 4: the rest of the team was not going the way.
- 2:30Speaker 1: You expected them to go last night.
- 2:32Speaker 4: And la is coming off a five game road trip
- 2:35Speaker 4: where they were three one to one, losing to Carolina
- 2:38Speaker 4: three nights to go in overtime. So they're back at home.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Obviously they're playing a team.
- 2:42Speaker 4: And a second of a back to back, which they've
- 2:44Speaker 4: done a lot over the last two seasons eighteen four
- 2:47Speaker 4: and two. When they see teams and second to backs
- 2:50Speaker 4: to back because the scheduling kirkis quirk is most teams
- 2:53Speaker 4: play Anaheim first and then continue on to La.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Looks like no Jayden Schwartz as well on the ice,
- 2:58Speaker 3: and that could be a new wrinkle to Krag and
- 2:59Speaker 3: have to manage here for this game this evening.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Yeah, they absolutely do. And he has an element in
- 3:04Speaker 4: all situations. He's a power play guy. He's even penalty killed,
- 3:08Speaker 4: but even strength he can have an impact. He's a
- 3:10Speaker 4: leader on the bench in the locker room, so not
- 3:12Speaker 4: having him in the game just requires other guys to
- 3:15Speaker 4: step up.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Well.
- 3:16Speaker 1: See if the Kings.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Can right now rally off a big jolt, it's a
- 3:20Speaker 3: crack and trying to stop them in those tracks because
- 3:22Speaker 3: they made a deal and a whopper of one earlier
- 3:25Speaker 3: today getting our Timmy Panarin and a trade here for
- 3:27Speaker 3: the New York Rangers.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean he's going to add of scoring element
- 3:30Speaker 4: to this Kings team that is tough to get from
- 3:33Speaker 4: anywhere else unless you grow it within. And they didn't
- 3:36Speaker 4: have to give up very much to get him either.
- 3:38Speaker 4: But that's a story of the conversation for another day.
- 3:40Speaker 3: It sounds like Panera is on his way will not
- 3:42Speaker 3: be suiting up here for tonight, but the Kings also
- 3:44Speaker 3: have a player on Milestone Watch with and Jai Kopatar's
- 3:47Speaker 3: next point, making thirteen hundred in his NHL.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Career as a crack and looking to splits the back.
- 3:53Speaker 3: To back and aiming for a three n zero record
- 3:56Speaker 3: against the Kings this season, and an attempt to empty
- 3:58Speaker 3: the tank right before the Olympic. Great Ander Serf, We'll
- 4:01Speaker 3: talk more about this with you from Network Central.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Joining you after this.

- 8:21Speaker 10: last night where the Kraken, after going down four zero
- 8:24Speaker 10: or attempting to mount a comeback in Anaheim, Luke Kosh.
- 8:28Speaker 11: Do Staal try for the open goal, Ty carche in front, redirected,
- 8:32Speaker 11: they score. Joe Stall aiming for the empty net, lost
- 8:42Speaker 11: the puck behind the goal. Ty Kartchey puts it on cage.
- 8:46Speaker 11: It was redirected by someone or something. It's a four
- 8:52Speaker 11: to two Seattle krackin deficit.
- 8:56Speaker 4: It was Fredikie dro stepping in front of that shot
- 8:58Speaker 4: that do Stal tried to make. Going down the ice.
- 9:01Speaker 4: You got a piece of it and enough to stop
- 9:04Speaker 4: the pucket in front of the net. Cark Chief finds
- 9:06Speaker 4: that Pucket puts it home for two. Anaheim.
- 9:09Speaker 10: That goal to cut the lead to two would actually
- 9:11Speaker 10: be awarded to Shane Wright as the Krack and tried
- 9:14Speaker 10: to mount a comeback, but it would be too little,
- 9:16Speaker 10: too late, as they fell to their Pacific Division foes,
- 9:19Speaker 10: the Anaheim Ducks last night. Here's Brandon Montour after the
- 9:23Speaker 10: game on the team's come back to tempt.
- 9:25Speaker 12: We have some good.
- 9:26Speaker 13: Pushes, you know, a little late obviously, you know, you
- 9:28Speaker 13: could get down a couple of goals. It's tough to
- 9:30Speaker 13: get back, but yeah, one you get to. We had
- 9:33Speaker 13: a couple of chances there as a post. I think,
- 9:36Speaker 13: just not enough time, you know, started off obviously they
- 9:39Speaker 13: want it. You know, we're tight, right, two teams instandings,
- 9:43Speaker 13: so they got the end upper hand the last two
- 9:46Speaker 13: games and move on. We get tomorrow's points.
- 9:49Speaker 10: Cracking Captain Jordan Eberley also commented on the fight within
- 9:53Speaker 10: the guys even after going down for zero.
- 9:55Speaker 3: There's fighting this group.
- 9:56Speaker 2: We've had it all year.
- 9:57Speaker 3: We're okay with out there's no question about that.
- 10:01Speaker 14: You know, I think you know I was we give
- 10:05Speaker 14: up the one late there in the second and then
- 10:07Speaker 14: the one early in the third. You know that kind
- 10:09Speaker 14: of kind of you know, drained us a bit. I
- 10:11Speaker 14: thought we had some some pushback and uh, you know,
- 10:13Speaker 14: the first pair was fine, and then we kind of
- 10:14Speaker 14: drained us a little bit the first ten of the second,
- 10:16Speaker 14: and then we kind of had some pushback, had some
- 10:18Speaker 14: opportunities to two and one, some some chances being capitalizing,
- 10:21Speaker 14: and then they get that late one kind of hurt
- 10:22Speaker 14: us a bit. You know, we've been been playing, in
- 10:26Speaker 14: my opinion, playoff hockey for the last month here. Every
- 10:28Speaker 14: game and every point is is huge. Just another one
- 10:31Speaker 14: that you know was massive tonight and more we have
- 10:34Speaker 14: another massive one. So need to you know, regroup here
- 10:38Speaker 14: and give Recolcus something.
- 10:40Speaker 10: Up the crack and are now five to and zero
- 10:42Speaker 10: in their last seven games as they continue to jockey
- 10:45Speaker 10: for positioning in this tight race in the Western Conference.
- 10:48Speaker 10: So tonight is a perfect opportunity for Seattle to go
- 10:51Speaker 10: into the break on a high note and in a
- 10:53Speaker 10: playoff position before the three week Olympic break. Look like
- 10:57Speaker 10: it will be Joey Decourt tonight, coming off the win
- 10:59Speaker 10: against Vegas on Saturday where he stops twenty seven of
- 11:02Speaker 10: twenty nine against the Golden Knights. Joey's fifteen twelve and
- 11:06Speaker 10: five with a nine to zho three save percentage and
- 11:08Speaker 10: a two point eight three goal against average this season.
- 11:12Speaker 10: Tonight's matchup is the third of four against the Kings
- 11:14Speaker 10: this season for the Kraken. They're two to zero against
- 11:17Speaker 10: LA after winning both matchups in December nine, seven and
- 11:21Speaker 10: one all time against their Pacific Division rival. Joey Decord,
- 11:25Speaker 10: specifically against the Kings owns a five two to one record,
- 11:29Speaker 10: a nine to two seven save percentage, and a two
- 11:31Speaker 10: point twenty six goal against Savage, so he has had
- 11:34Speaker 10: a lot of success in this matchup in his career.
- 11:37Speaker 10: Time to look at our Kraken storylines, and the first
- 11:39Speaker 10: one is back to backs. After going oh twelve and
- 11:42Speaker 10: oh in the second game of back to backs last season,
- 11:45Speaker 10: the Kraken have much improved in that area, to the
- 11:48Speaker 10: tune of a three to three to two record in
- 11:50Speaker 10: these scenarios in twenty five twenty six. Hopefully they can
- 11:53Speaker 10: continue to improve on this one tonight after last night's
- 11:56Speaker 10: loss down in Anaheim. Much of that improvement can be
- 11:59Speaker 10: tied to their power play production on the second half
- 12:03Speaker 10: of back to backs, Seattle owns a thirty three point
- 12:06Speaker 10: three percent conversion rate on the power play. Only the
- 12:08Speaker 10: Golden Knights have better power play percentage points this season
- 12:13Speaker 10: than the Krack can do on the second game at
- 12:16Speaker 10: back to backs, and overall, Seattle ranks eleventh in the
- 12:18Speaker 10: league with a twenty two point six percent power play
- 12:21Speaker 10: So hopefully they can get a few opportunities tonight to
- 12:23Speaker 10: make that power play hum a little bit, as last
- 12:25Speaker 10: night was only the second game all season long in
- 12:29Speaker 10: which the Kraken did not have a power play opportunity.
- 12:32Speaker 10: Storyline number three is the playoff push. Obviously, the Kraken
- 12:35Speaker 10: are in a battle with la Anaheim among other teams
- 12:38Speaker 10: in a jumbled Pacific Division for the last few playoff spots.
- 12:41Speaker 10: Here's Jordan Everley after the game last night talking about
- 12:44Speaker 10: the reality of how close things are as Seattle battles
- 12:47Speaker 10: for a playoff spot this league.
- 12:49Speaker 14: Right now, you win foreign Roy lose one year other playoffs.
- 12:52Speaker 5: It's just that simple.
- 12:53Speaker 14: We've been playing playoff hockey for last month. Every game
- 12:57Speaker 14: is just that important, especially against the Vision team. You know,
- 13:00Speaker 14: they just jumped ahead of us, so it's you know,
- 13:03Speaker 14: that's the mindset that we've had and we have to
- 13:06Speaker 14: continue having because it's gonna be the same way all
- 13:07Speaker 14: the way through the rest of the year.
- 13:09Speaker 10: Brandon Montour also talked about last night how important it
- 13:13Speaker 10: is for Seattle to finish strong tonight before the Olympic break.
- 13:17Speaker 5: JT.
- 13:17Speaker 15: Miller moves it up and rangers on the pot.
- 13:23Speaker 10: Now let's take a look at the injury reports. Sorry
- 13:26Speaker 10: about that. Berkeley Catton was recently added to the ir
- 13:29Speaker 10: to join Matt Murray and Ben Myers, and now Jane
- 13:31Speaker 10: Schwartz just got scratched tonight due to a lower body injury.
- 13:35Speaker 10: So the Olympic break comes at a great time for
- 13:38Speaker 10: both those guys to get healthy and get back for
- 13:40Speaker 10: the playoff push in three weeks. Much more to come
- 13:43Speaker 10: on the pregame show served up by Corps Light. Coming
- 13:46Speaker 10: up next, we'll take a look at those Kings. You're

- 16:10Speaker 10: similar to Seattle, La is right in the heat of
- 16:12Speaker 10: a playoff hunt and just before the Olympic roster freeze,
- 16:15Speaker 10: they go out and make a big splash in the
- 16:17Speaker 10: trade market.
- 16:18Speaker 1: JT.
- 16:19Speaker 15: Miller moves it up and rangers on the power play
- 16:21Speaker 15: here Joe check down right wing side up top shut
- 16:25Speaker 15: from Preneran and A Tandy scores our Teddy Panaren let
- 16:29Speaker 15: it fly, it beat do stall.
- 16:31Speaker 1: It's a power play goal. New York goes up two
- 16:34Speaker 1: to one.
- 16:35Speaker 10: That is not a mistake. That was the former Ranger
- 16:39Speaker 10: are Temmy Panerin with his most recent goal against the
- 16:42Speaker 10: Ducks and his last goal in a Ranger uniform. But
- 16:45Speaker 10: just this afternoon, La Kings GM ken Holland made a
- 16:49Speaker 10: massive trade acquiring the superstar forward and extending him to
- 16:53Speaker 10: a two year deal as he was originally supposed to
- 16:55Speaker 10: be a free agent in the summer. This trade significantly
- 16:59Speaker 10: changes the land escape of the La Kings roster, as
- 17:02Speaker 10: until now they have struggled to score, but have a
- 17:04Speaker 10: solid defense and goaltending. So now at the perennial one
- 17:08Speaker 10: hundred point player on their team, their hope is that
- 17:11Speaker 10: significantly adds to the scoring ability, not just with Panerin himself,
- 17:15Speaker 10: but with him creating more for players like Adrian Kempe,
- 17:17Speaker 10: Kevin Fiela, on jco Patar and more. It doesn't look
- 17:21Speaker 10: like Paneren will be in the lineup tonight, but the
- 17:24Speaker 10: thought is he might be able to make his debut
- 17:26Speaker 10: tomorrow and if not, after the Olympic break, a significant
- 17:30Speaker 10: shakeup in the landscape of the Western Conference playoff picture. Indeed,
- 17:34Speaker 10: with that, let's hear more from King's coach Jim Hiller
- 17:38Speaker 10: talking about the last two games before their Olympic break
- 17:41Speaker 10: and how they can take their success from their most
- 17:44Speaker 10: recent road trip. For these last two games.
- 17:46Speaker 12: We went on on that road trip and we really
- 17:48Speaker 12: tried to keep our focus tight. We talked about shift
- 17:51Speaker 12: to shift, period to period. You know, we knew we're
- 17:54Speaker 12: going to be on the road for a long time.
- 17:56Speaker 12: So what we need to do is just bring that
- 17:59Speaker 12: home here for the next Cup days. The same kind
- 18:01Speaker 12: of focus and the way we approached it on the road.
- 18:04Speaker 12: We just got to finish it that way. So I
- 18:06Speaker 12: liked her we played on the road. I thought that,
- 18:08Speaker 12: you know, we were dialed in and focused, so I
- 18:12Speaker 12: would suspect we can just roll that out for the
- 18:14Speaker 12: next couple of games.
- 18:16Speaker 10: Looking like it will be Darcy Kemper between the pipes
- 18:18Speaker 10: tonight for LA. He's fourteen ten and nine on the
- 18:22Speaker 10: season with a nine h two save percentage in a
- 18:24Speaker 10: two point five to five goal against average. But against
- 18:27Speaker 10: Seattle in his career, he has actually struggled across three
- 18:30Speaker 10: teams Colorado, Washington and now LA one three and one
- 18:34Speaker 10: and eight eighty save percentage in a three point oh
- 18:37Speaker 10: four goal against average. So hopefully Seattle can continue to
- 18:40Speaker 10: take advantage of what has been a good kind of
- 18:43Speaker 10: matchup against Darcy Kemper in their history as a franchise.
- 18:47Speaker 10: Coming up next, we head back to La Mike and
- 18:50Speaker 10: now have your keys to the game. You're listening to

- 21:03Speaker 1: Mike Benton Alkaniski with you here for.
- 21:05Speaker 3: The final game for the Kraken before the Olympic break.
- 21:08Speaker 3: So it is indeed emptied the tank time as a
- 21:11Speaker 3: crack At aiming for their fifth win in the last
- 21:13Speaker 3: six games and looking to rebound after a four to
- 21:15Speaker 3: two loss last nine to two of the Anaheim Ducks.
- 21:18Speaker 3: And last night it was about playing hockey like it
- 21:21Speaker 3: was life of the fast line in this evening. Perhaps
- 21:23Speaker 3: it is a slow burn type of games. So how
- 21:26Speaker 3: do the Kraken conquer this challenge? Al Kaniski's got our
- 21:29Speaker 3: three keys here, I'll take it away.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Well, slow burn or not, Mike, you you gotta win
- 21:33Speaker 4: the first period. This is the last game before the
- 21:35Speaker 4: Olympic break. Keep the visions of my ties and palm
- 21:38Speaker 4: trees out of your head for sixty minutes. The Krack
- 21:40Speaker 4: you need to jump early and make it clear they'll
- 21:42Speaker 4: be storming the castle from pump puck drop score first,
- 21:46Speaker 4: establish pace and put doubt in the building before fatigue
- 21:49Speaker 4: gets a vote. Fast start through the road or like
- 21:51Speaker 4: Espresso ivs overwhelmingly intense. If you get one going early,
- 21:56Speaker 4: secondly win in regulation sixty minutes, that's it. No bonus hockey,
- 22:01Speaker 4: no loser points, no hanging around like you're waiting for
- 22:04Speaker 4: your chafing dish to empty out at the annual potluck picnic.
- 22:07Speaker 4: LA sits one point behind Seattle. You need some separation.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Close it out in regulation and head into the break
- 22:14Speaker 4: feeling good with a three point lead over the LA.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Kings Road wins that end on time age beautifully, and
- 22:21Speaker 4: then third win as a team by game three of
- 22:25Speaker 4: a road trip. Even your local KFC doesn't have any
- 22:27Speaker 4: fresh legs, so brains better be engaged. Short shifts, smart reads,
- 22:32Speaker 4: and nobody freelancing like it's a Wednesday night Beer League game.
- 22:36Speaker 4: When five guys are connected, tired turns into dangers. Play
- 22:39Speaker 4: together or pay for it. So it's simple, Mike, start
- 22:43Speaker 4: on time, finish on time, and do it as a team.
- 22:46Speaker 4: The first period sets the tone and regulation seals the deal,
- 22:49Speaker 4: and teamwork keeps everyone connected. Nail those three and the
- 22:53Speaker 4: Kraken board, the playing the break with a win instead
- 22:56Speaker 4: of a post mortem.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Folks, do you want to know what it's like to
- 22:58Speaker 1: be a hockey player?
- 22:59Speaker 3: Basically, go on a stationary bike and try to go
- 23:01Speaker 3: as hard as you can for about I would say
- 23:03Speaker 3: at least a half an hour, and come back and
- 23:05Speaker 3: tell us what the legs feel like.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I tried the al Kadiski route. I got on that bike.
- 23:09Speaker 3: I l asked for about maybe I would say twenty
- 23:11Speaker 3: minutes here for today, my legs are feeling it here.
- 23:14Speaker 3: So yes, friends don't skip leg day, but for today
- 23:17Speaker 3: it is certainly mind over matter and the.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Cracking did that yesterday and they got to do it
- 23:20Speaker 4: again here in a back to back, so you know what,
- 23:23Speaker 4: don't get distracted by what you know is coming tomorrow.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Right now, you have an opportunity to put some separation
- 23:29Speaker 4: between you and the team that's chasing you for your
- 23:31Speaker 4: playoff spot. That's going to be the priority.
- 23:34Speaker 3: This is also one of those games where we go
- 23:35Speaker 3: back and reference the structure and how Lane Lambert wants
- 23:38Speaker 3: his team to play, how he wants them to ford check,
- 23:41Speaker 3: how the approach a neutral zone. Because when you're playing
- 23:43Speaker 3: in the back end a back to back, when the
- 23:45Speaker 3: legs go often, he says, in others, the mind goes
- 23:48Speaker 3: as well. So this is essentially more or less just
- 23:51Speaker 3: a feeling of repetition and kind of the unconscious feeling
- 23:54Speaker 3: of no where to be and where.
- 23:56Speaker 4: To go all So, one of the things I like
- 23:57Speaker 4: about Lane Lambert is that he's talked about before this
- 24:00Speaker 4: team's identity is their defensive structure. You can say that,
- 24:04Speaker 4: but you still have to go execute it, and executing
- 24:06Speaker 4: it takes focus, It takes those legs you talked about,
- 24:09Speaker 4: and if you don't do that, you'll break down quickly,
- 24:12Speaker 4: and all of a sudden you're giving up Grade eight
- 24:14Speaker 4: chances in front, So start your own zone, start from
- 24:16Speaker 4: the red line, back defensive structure first, and then jump
- 24:20Speaker 4: on those loose pucks to create offensive opportunities when you can.
- 24:23Speaker 3: Looking like it will be Joey decordon Net once again
- 24:26Speaker 3: the Savening and pretty appropriate base on the fact that
- 24:28Speaker 3: the Krack and have gone with pattern of playing him
- 24:30Speaker 3: on the second game, but back to back that mostly
- 24:32Speaker 3: because he knows how to play the pucket neck like
- 24:34Speaker 3: a third defenseman back there, so a big help of
- 24:37Speaker 3: the Krack and who's d you want to get back
- 24:38Speaker 3: and play it. But on top of that, with no
- 24:40Speaker 3: Jayden Swartz for the Savening Oscar Fisker bulguard and it
- 24:43Speaker 3: really shakes up the lines tenfold here, so the only
- 24:46Speaker 3: line that really stays put essentially is your top line.
- 24:50Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely Goodro's gonna jump back up to the second line.
- 24:53Speaker 4: I love this game. He doesn't care if he's from
- 24:55Speaker 4: the fourth line in the middle of the second line
- 24:57Speaker 4: the wing, like you'll be tonight. You're gonna get a
- 24:59Speaker 4: great a game out him. Ryan Winterding up on the
- 25:02Speaker 4: right wing with right and Cocko and like you said
- 25:04Speaker 4: ofm in the middle between Jacob Alnsen and kart Ja.
- 25:08Speaker 4: I like that combination. There's gonna be a lot of
- 25:10Speaker 4: speed on that line. There's gonna be a lot of physicality.
- 25:12Speaker 4: We know Karchia can shoot Oscar Fiskermalgard. He's got a
- 25:15Speaker 4: lot of intelligence in the middle there. He'll bring that
- 25:18Speaker 4: line together real quick.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Kracking facing a King's team that dropped a major, major
- 25:24Speaker 3: trade bomb earlier today, and many are saying it's something
- 25:26Speaker 3: with the likes of this King's team getting Ziggie, Paul
- 25:29Speaker 3: Fee or Jeff Carter, one of those big trades in
- 25:31Speaker 3: franchise history which brings in a brand new star here
- 25:34Speaker 3: to a star driven market. On top of that, so
- 25:36Speaker 3: the Kings get Paneren and the New York Rangers to
- 25:39Speaker 3: Liam green Tree and two draft picks plus panerin extended
- 25:42Speaker 3: for two years annually at eleven million through twenty seven
- 25:46Speaker 3: to twenty eight. The Kraken will not see him for tonight.
- 25:48Speaker 3: Reports are coming out now that he won't play really
- 25:51Speaker 3: until after the Olympic break. But on top of that,
- 25:53Speaker 3: he could really help a team that is struggling here
- 25:56Speaker 3: for offense. Now the krackt has something new that they
- 25:58Speaker 3: had to deal with once his finally ends When.
- 26:00Speaker 4: You think about this LA team, they're a mere image
- 26:03Speaker 4: of Seattle. The times that Seattle has played them in
- 26:05Speaker 4: the past. It tends to be a low scoring game.
- 26:08Speaker 4: Detend to be a very defensive game. They have a
- 26:10Speaker 4: very similar structure, and much like the Kraken, they're looking
- 26:13Speaker 4: for more scoring as well. So no surprise they picked
- 26:16Speaker 4: up in there and there.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Mikey Anderson will be out for the Kings. Jacob Obiare
- 26:20Speaker 3: will be back in Darcy. Kemper will be in net
- 26:23Speaker 3: here for Los Angeles. Third fewest goals allowed by the
- 26:27Speaker 3: way in the NHL at two point seven goals per game.
- 26:30Speaker 3: They are stingy back in their own defensive zone.
- 26:33Speaker 1: But first off, for a.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Man who was always tends you with details back in
- 26:37Speaker 3: neverth Central, who was that anders se'z with you once again?
- 26:41Speaker 1: After this the Kraken the Kings getting closer. This is

- 29:52Speaker 3: All right, Andre stake you very much. Back now with
- 29:53Speaker 3: crackinghead coach Lane Lambert and Lane. First off, when you
- 29:56Speaker 3: go back and look at the tape from last night,
- 29:58Speaker 3: what caught your eye first two periods?
- 29:59Speaker 17: Verse?
- 30:00Speaker 3: Is the final five minutes?
- 30:02Speaker 23: Well, I mean the final five minutes.
- 30:04Speaker 15: We had our goalie out.
- 30:06Speaker 23: You know, we were pressing, and you know we had
- 30:09Speaker 23: some you know, we had some good opportunities. We had
- 30:11Speaker 23: a really good opportunity to make it four three, and
- 30:13Speaker 23: then that would have been interesting, you know, with two
- 30:15Speaker 23: minutes left, but too little, too late. Like I say,
- 30:19Speaker 23: you leave things up to chance, and oftentimes you're on
- 30:23Speaker 23: the wrong end of it. I just didn't think we
- 30:25Speaker 23: played fast enough. I thought they played faster than we did,
- 30:29Speaker 23: and we've got to be better.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Jordan Ibie mentioned that at the end of last night,
- 30:32Speaker 3: how much it kind of feels like playoff hockey and
- 30:34Speaker 3: it has so here for this last month. How much
- 30:36Speaker 3: of that is kind of driving more of the conversation
- 30:39Speaker 3: with things changing day by day right now in the
- 30:41Speaker 3: Western Conference.
- 30:42Speaker 23: Yeah, I mean you have to have a little bit
- 30:45Speaker 23: of a playoff mindset right now.
- 30:47Speaker 12: You know.
- 30:47Speaker 23: Part of it maybe with EBBS is that we're playing
- 30:49Speaker 23: every second day, just like playoffs would be. But you
- 30:55Speaker 23: know this is, in my opinion, with the league being
- 30:59Speaker 23: as close as it is this year, playoffs start a
- 31:02Speaker 23: little bit earlier this year, so uh, you know it's
- 31:06Speaker 23: going to be a battle for anyone and everyone to
- 31:09Speaker 23: get into the playoffs. Today will be.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Jared McCann's seven hundredth career NHL games, so now they
- 31:14Speaker 3: have a chance to coach him this season. What are
- 31:16Speaker 3: some of the things that come to mind as far
- 31:18Speaker 3: as a player that he's become It what it takes
- 31:20Speaker 3: also to last that long in this league.
- 31:22Speaker 23: Well, obviously, anyone who lasts seven hundred games, you're a
- 31:25Speaker 23: your hockey player, you know, and his mantra and mo
- 31:30Speaker 23: is an offensive hockey player. And if you're if that's
- 31:34Speaker 23: your if that's your job, you got to do your job.
- 31:37Speaker 23: And so the impressive thing for me is with any
- 31:40Speaker 23: offensive player on any team, but certainly Jaredy leads a
- 31:43Speaker 23: team scoring you know every year basically, and he leads
- 31:47Speaker 23: the franchise and scoring you know all the time, so
- 31:51Speaker 23: you know, he delivers on what his job is.
- 31:54Speaker 3: He had Oscar Fisco Mullgard called back up now on
- 31:57Speaker 3: this roster once again. And it's often said that it
- 31:59Speaker 3: takes a lot of brains to play the game at
- 32:01Speaker 3: a high level, and that's been kind of the word
- 32:03Speaker 3: thrown around as far as the makeup of his game.
- 32:06Speaker 3: But what stood out most to you, whether it's that
- 32:09Speaker 3: or something else when he was first called.
- 32:10Speaker 23: Up here, Yeah, well, first of all, he's got speed
- 32:13Speaker 23: and quickness. You know, he can kill penalties. You know,
- 32:18Speaker 23: he can plays a power play down in Coachella Valley.
- 32:21Speaker 23: But again, you know, on these call ups, in these
- 32:26Speaker 23: call up situations, intelligence and being able to adapt is
- 32:31Speaker 23: extremely important in a short term situation. And when I
- 32:36Speaker 23: say short term situation, I mean he gets called up,
- 32:39Speaker 23: he gets in here at eleven o'clock this morning, and
- 32:42Speaker 23: now you know he's potentially playing, so you know, you've
- 32:46Speaker 23: got to process a lot of information quickly, and we
- 32:49Speaker 23: feel like his intelligence level he can do.
- 32:51Speaker 3: That Krack and did this back in December Anaheim one night,
- 32:55Speaker 3: Los Angeles the very next night, and it kind of feels
- 32:57Speaker 3: like a changed direction as far as pace of play,
- 33:00Speaker 3: the opponent makeup and whatnot. But for tonight, where do
- 33:02Speaker 3: the legs have to be and what does the might
- 33:03Speaker 3: also have to be facing Los Angeles?
- 33:06Speaker 23: Yeah, well, we you know, this is a game, and
- 33:10Speaker 23: again it's our last game before the break. We're asking
- 33:12Speaker 23: for two and a half to three hours of hard
- 33:14Speaker 23: work here. We need focus, we need full commitment, and
- 33:18Speaker 23: all the little details are going to be, you know,
- 33:21Speaker 23: going to be the most important thing.
- 33:22Speaker 15: They're all going to matter.
- 33:23Speaker 23: So you know, it's again it's a different, different time
- 33:28Speaker 23: than it was December twenty third. You know, there's a
- 33:32Speaker 23: lot of games that have gone on between then and now,
- 33:35Speaker 23: and you know, the standings and the magnitude of the
- 33:38Speaker 23: games are just growing.
- 33:40Speaker 3: Finally, it's the last time aside from Oscar Fisker Mulgard,
- 33:42Speaker 3: that you'll see Coppocco, Elle Tolbyn and Philip group Barber
- 33:45Speaker 3: before the Olympic break. What have you seen that's made
- 33:47Speaker 3: them here into Olympians heading into the break?
- 33:50Speaker 23: H Well, I mean obviously each one. Gruby's had a
- 33:53Speaker 23: heck of a year. Coppo's playing well total he's playing well,
- 33:57Speaker 23: you know, and Oscar's doing well down Uncle cholli ally,
- 34:01Speaker 23: I mean, you know. They're good players for their countries.
