- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be a slightly different intro.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: Today I'm gonna be talking with my bestie, Stephanie Dominguez Watten.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, we have a lot to talk about.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: We keep talking and we don't stop.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: But we have so much fun and I know you'll be entertained.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: So please enjoy my conversation with Stephanie Dominguez Walton.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back to the show, Stephanie.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so happy to be here.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's fucking mercury retrograde, and you know what, before we started this, usually when I hit record, we're recording over Zoom, right?
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: So normally it says record to the computer or record to cloud.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: And today, it only gave me the option for cloud.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: And this is where, so our psychosis is going to be out there for all the zucker birds in the world.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: Well, but it's not just that it's like I get this fear that I'm not going to be able to find it.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's happened before where, you know, it's recorded the cloud and I figured it out.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: But I know how to work it when it's to just to the computer.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: And FY, everybody, I'm going to fucking bad mood.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: Who isn't, except I have stuff for me here, so that's good.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: Tremendously.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yeah, you know, are we just going to get right into it?
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: Because I've got to tell you, you know, we've talked about this before, but like, my girls, my, my friends, my family mean, mean everything, but my girls really.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: you know, deliver, I've got, you know how that is when you want to talk to people.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: Fortunately, after yesterday's news about Cesar Chavez, like Burnett, Burnett all down, yeah, remove him from everything.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, this is a man who raped children and who raped one of the
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: fucking freedom fighters in the world in Dolores Huerta.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, when a woman that fears and that, and that, I mean, 96 years of warriorness, right?
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: For the people, never faltering not one time.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: And when someone like that feels that they have to stay silent and carry, carry that pain that burden
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: harm the movement and the people like that that really hit and I know it hit all of us right but look how fast I mean I I don't I mean like are we going to are we going to rename it Dolores work that day or we hope so because of course all the Republicans when the call it Ronald Reagan
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, give me a god damn great.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: I know, I know.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: Some guy who worked with Ted Cruz, you know, and his campaign or whatever, suggested all these men.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: Well of course, but let's let's name, let's name it after a white man.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we run exactly.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and look, we've got a man who has been credibly charged with rape, who has raped children, who has raped adult women, who has been responsible for the murder of of of thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of people.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: And he still sits in the
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, I mean, I'm glad that there's swiftness around us cancelling and removing, um, say South Trump.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know, but from everything.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: But of course, of course, but look how quickly they did it to a Mexican dude.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: Am I right?
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's exactly what I was just going to say.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh, the Mexican man, fuck him.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: But the white man, let's protect him at all costs at all costs.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: the freak in the White House who was playing with model stealth bombers and who can't form a sentence or even sit up straight with his eyes all the way open.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: His brain is rotting inside of his head and the entire Republican party is too afraid to push back against him because they don't want to lose their power, their ability to, you know, grift and make money and do all the
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: to continue ruining this country.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_01]: I am so sick and tired, and I'm scared.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, let me just throw something in.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I kind of had said this before, and I'm going to keep reiterating it.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: Because everything that, you know, whenever we're looking at a situation like this every time we turn around, it's just more bad news.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's more bad news every single day and it's being piled on us and it's shocking news and it's uncomfortable news and basically there is some new stuff right like we Donald Trump decided, hey, let's fuck with Iran.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do it illegally.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: So we have to deal with that.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: But a lot of this other stuff when it comes to Epstein and and.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: the rape and the pedophilia and all of this.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: It is existed all along.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: And while we have, you know, democratic presidents or presidents prior to Donald Trump, let's just say, and then the short little period of Joe Biden, it was all going on.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: And it wasn't being brought out into the light.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: you know, our Hitler or whatever, you know, our version of Hitler.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: But he has done a service by exposing this because it gives us an opportunity now to actually address it rather than just scream about it on social media, which is what we've been doing.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: And even though, you know, we were screaming about things on social media prior to Donald Trump, we were talking about citizens united and we were talking about all the things, but nothing was really getting done.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: We were going to marches, but no legislation was being
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: We were wearing our pussy hats.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: So all this stuff was happening and it's power to us, but it's not making a change.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that the, I don't want to call it positive, but the way that this benefits us and the way that we can use this to our advantage is to recognize Donald Trump is pulling back the curtain.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: And his presidency is showing us and I think some of these Republicans
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: whether, you know, it's stuff that Russia had on them and then dental Trump is privy to or just, you know, whatever he becomes privy to because he's the president.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: This is a operation run by a mobster and he's using mob tactics and so absolutely the people in the Republican Party who, you know, we might say, why did, why did Lindsey Graham say that he's going to destroy everything and now he's lodged up in his fucking colon?
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's because we all know why, and it's not because he's gay.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody fucking knows he's gay.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's not the news and who gives a shit anyway.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: Just know what cares the right way.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's not the compromise they have on them.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: They have something on him.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, actually, and I can't say what it is, and I can't even prove it.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: But somebody who used to work, do you know?
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I think I've told you this before.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: I know what someone told me.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have any proof.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: But I can't you say it.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: I can't say it because I just but but I swear that I wouldn't so I won't but this but nobody has to just do some math in your head.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so Lindsey Graham is a gay man and he was working on the hill and it was like say let's go back to the 80s and 90s and there weren't let's just say where there's lots of
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: And some of them were young.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so he hired underage prostitutes?
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: Kiss is late about five.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, you know, it's just a rumor.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, okay.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody, nobody, you know, there's no proof of anything.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: I can't prove that.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: That somebody just told that to me who used to work on the hill and said that rumors swirl the whole everyone knew.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's like everyone knew.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, Lindsey Graham is not, it's not the fear of being gay.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody gives a shit about that.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's other things.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, and it's like, but every time we fucking turn around, I don't know if you know, Joseph Dugger was just arrested for molesting a nine-year-old back in 2020,
- 8:58[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: Is that the same creep?
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: Joseph but then there's a there's another son.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think there's another one.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, too.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's so far there's two child molesting sense so I don't know anyway the thing is the point of this is that every time you turn around men are raping people
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's like men are raping people and I don't know, I mean, I don't know what Trump might have on Lisa McCowski if anything.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: She is the one who came out and said we're all afraid of, you know, there's death threats and we're afraid.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he didn't.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: blackmail her, right?
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: But there are enough men in Congress on the Republican side, specifically, who, because every day we're finding out another Republican man is either a child molester or rapist,
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: So, there's math there.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe it's not about rape.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they did something corrupt.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they did something with money and they don't want it getting out.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they had an affair on their wife.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: And they don't want it getting out.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they did all these things.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: Of course.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why they all fucking follow the big rapist in the White House.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: right because they don't want to be exposed themselves.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then, of course, there's also if Trump singles you out, now your family is at risk.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, so that's the bottom line.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: So if he doesn't like a Republican senator or whoever, and he starts talking shit about them, then all of a sudden, now their family is at risk, and they are at risk of, you know, mega coming after them.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that's what's going on.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just,
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: You know, but I want to bring this to the conversation specifically about rape and how we talk about it and you know when I started doing this in 2012 and you know focusing on women's issues and really understanding rape culture and everything.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's just that you're always met and it happened to me the other day with these defensive men who if you if you point out that women don't know who to trust.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: in a room full of men, it's not all men that are rapists, but women have to consider that each man might say.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we don't know who the rapist is.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: And statistics are telling us that we're in a room full of X amount of men, they're going to be at least X amount of rapists.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: And we don't know who they are.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: And how are we supposed to, and so the other day, I put up something, you know, to that effect and it's fucking dick this dick he kind of is like, oh, I'm in a repus.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: And so then I thought, OK, don't get angry at him.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I started to have a conversation, tried to have a conversation with him, tried to explain.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: And all he kept doing was taking the defense of things.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: So you think I'm a rapist.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I said, I did not say that.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: I do not think you are a rapist.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't know if you are.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_02]: How do I know that I love that call?
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: And, and it was like, you're the man.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: And he just all he could do is the whole... Wow.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: You really, you really have a stereotypical woman.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: That was his whole tone.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: God, Seth.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: So, and it's like, I'm getting to the point where I want a fucking throttle men.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: And it, you know what?
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: All men.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: Not Bob.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously not all men.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, fucking duh.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'm with a man.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: So are you.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: If you and I believe that all men were rapists, would we be with a man?
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's so fucking frustrating.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: I can't stand the defensive man fucking crap anymore because when I see, when they say white women got us Trump, I don't argue.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: They did not all white women.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: They did!
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why we're man.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: my life, you know, I'm 60, but I play a 15-year-old TV, but listen, I have, I'm on to the next chapter of my career, and I feel like I got at least 10 years of like ass-kicking work, let me possibly more.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: My husband thinks I'm insane.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's almost, Zach's four and a half years younger than me, so we, you know, theoretically, if I work to 70 were retiring at the same time, right?
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: But I just don't, you know, he can retire and I will, he will be a kept man.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: I, I, I look forward.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: That would be, that would be my privilege, you know, I'm saying.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: I just be like, hey, what's for dinner?
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: I do that already every night.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, like, I, I want to work towards.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: living in a just society.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now is that going to happen in 10 years?
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: Hell no.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: But can I make a difference?
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: Me myself?
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I'll put myself out there.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: You know, when I worked at Planned Parenthood, I did everything, but literally bleed for that organization and for that movement, for the patients.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like I signed on as somebody who A was a patient myself.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: for, you know, had an abortion at 17, so that I could get on with my life and live my life and then use the services for for actual healthcare when I didn't have insurance like so many people did right like you know like like families who used to who used to be able to go to the the health clinics for.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: Family medicine, you know, we're talking about people of color.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking about people living below the poverty line We were a safety net health care provider.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's been, you know, family medicine is gone now because there's no, you know There are no Medicaid Dollars coming through to to the organizations into the health centers anymore, which is a travesty, right?
- 15:57[SPEAKER_01]: But now I'm I've moved on from there because I feel like I might be able to have a more impactful
- 16:05[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I might be able to have a greater impact.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's starting in my community, you know, in the state.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: Because you know, you know what they say.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: I always love to go to this quote that Barbara Lee has said, as long as I've known her, which is as goes Oakland, but I'll turn it to,
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: As goes California, so goes the rest of the country right here.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: We are a force.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_01]: We take, we drill down to as goes Oakland, so goes California, so goes the rest of the country.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: But it's true, right?
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: Because so many movements started right here.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the Black Panther movement, there's just there's so much that happens here on the ground in my own community.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: And we're such a diverse community.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: There's so many people of color here that I want to
- 16:50[SPEAKER_01]: create.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_01]: I want to be part of creating a society that is based off of justice, not charity, right?
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gone.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: And no disrespect to the beautiful white people in the world, you being one of them.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: My husband being another Bob Cesca being a third.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: There were surrounded by amazing folks.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: who want to believe in that, you know, look, I'm going to give to the causes that matter to me, the causes that are actually on the ground doing the work to try to lift people up and to steal a line from the brilliant Huleon Castro, every single person in our society
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: deserves an opportunity to prosper.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: That looks different from person to person, right?
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: But they do every kid deserves to have a full belly, every kid deserves an opportunity at an equal education regardless of their zip code, right, when you're in a public school system.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: Every single person deserves the freedom to exercise their right to vote no matter what their standing in society is
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, I'm talking about legal citizens of the United States and in case there's a fucking Republican listening to this podcast, which is probably not the truth, but you know what I'm saying.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: And so, what does that look like?
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: What does it, you know, so I, I've started my own consulting firm.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm announcing it here on on on on on on on.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't even told you what, what, you knew I was going to.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't know much about it.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: And all of the things that you're doing.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: So it's happening.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: I just got my business license this week.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: It is called the Hermano Group.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: And we are, it's a bit of a play on words.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the her, the mono is my hand.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: And, but it's also Edmano, because of course you know I'm not being a horse, Edmano, Edmano, Edmano, her mono, it's beautiful.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: I got to give a shout out to my, one of my besties who has been doing my hair for 18 years.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: And she's also a mehikana, like me.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, I was trying to come up with a name
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: I want to do a play on the English and the Spanish.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's got to work both ways.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: I said, yes, it totally does.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: It can't be so far out there, like it's some cool Spanish word that, and she goes, what about her mono?
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, dude, done chills every year.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's happening.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: I am an LLC.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: It is, I got my first client.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm working with,
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: an organization that is statewide that works on reducing recidivism among women and girls who have come up in the underground economy and getting them to to do their brilliance just like we're trying to do ours.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's called giving a person an opportunity to change their their situation.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: and that's my first one.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm telling you what, it's gangbusters.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: I have never felt so, I mean, that's not true.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: I felt really inspired in a lot of the work that I've done in the past.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: I felt really inspired working with certain politicians and working for certain causes and when I'm out door knocking to make abortion, you know, enshrining it in the freaking state constitution in, you know, California and about, yes, of course, that's inspiring.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: But
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: I am so inspired by these women who, while they were giving birth in the prison system, shackled road legislation to do away with that practice in the state of California.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: You want to talk about inspiring women?
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: I want to move mountains with women who have seen some things, right, who have experienced poverty, who have experienced, you know, deep, deep marginalization, because they're poor, because they're people of color, because they may have a record.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: I want to start hearing from them, how do we change the broken system?
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: So, so, you know,
- 21:08[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think, you know, I mean, this is going to kind of bring me back a little bit to what I'm saying about Trump, even though he is our Hitler and he's the worst person.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's breaking the system down so that it has to be rebuilt.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what we're going to do.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be rebuilding in last week.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: I had, you know, a very popular, everyone seemed to love her very much, guest knitting cult lady.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, she, I should say she re-emphasized.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: I've been saying this too.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: I heard it from someone else.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think I heard it from Park Rose permaculture.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_00]: These fucking millennials who knit they are a force, but anyway, it's like we're they're all knitters.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: One of my best friends is a knitter.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: like kicking ass, you know, they're politically kicking ass while they're knitting.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, she was describing the difference and I want to keep reiterating this of patriarchy versus patriarchy because people tend to think that it's patriarchy just means men run everything and patriarchy means women run everything and know that's not what it is.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: patriarchy is where men are at the top and all the power trickles down.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then you have capitalism thrown in there.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then, and I don't hate capitalism, but it needs to be regulated.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, patriarchy is the most vulnerable people in the center of the circle and the rest of us are surrounding and taking care of each other.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: It has nothing to do with men and women.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's more of the idea of the male energy and the female energy.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_00]: And the male energy is action-oriented.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_00]: And female energy is more about kind of instinctual and feeling and caretaking.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_00]: And that's different than a man and a woman and their roles.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's just feminine energy and masculine energy.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_00]: And so while we need a combination of both, we need action.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_00]: But we also need to take care.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: we need to take care of each other as just you were saying.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think that, you know, we have this opportunity because he's going to be president until he either dies or 2028, you know, I don't know what's going to happen.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_00]: But in 2028, we have that opportunity to create a matriarchy.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, it looks like even people like Tala Riko, which I know Christopher Busy is not fond of, and I don't care, at this point, I do not want to get in this whole Jasmine Crockett Tala Riko feud in fighting democrat thing.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: I have my opinions about it.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_00]: Jasmine Crockett has been very clear.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just fucking move forward.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_00]: And she's right.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_00]: And let's win in Texas.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_00]: And she's not done.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like, oh, well, we're never going to hear from Jasmine Crockett again.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_00]: You know, she's got a very solid career.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_00]: She's a fucking black woman and she's in a, she's an incredibly intelligent and bold black woman.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: Who says it like it is in a country that right now is just so fucking racist and so anti-woman that it's, of course it's gonna be harder for her.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: Of course it's gonna be harder for her.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't care what the reasons why that it's harder for this because Stephen Colbert did this show with James.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever, I know that people are angry
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but at the same time, we have to keep moving forward.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: We can't get bogged down in fighting about the shit amongst ourselves.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_00]: And so, yeah, I think that as we see these people, whether it's AOC, whether it's Jasmine Crocket, whether, and I'm going to include Tele Rico.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to include John O'Sough, which cracks me up because they're, I don't know what was, but there was this black woman on Twitter who fucking loved him and she'd always call him President Bay.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Adam and I'll tell you what, yes.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: I know, he's got it going on.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's really fucking smart.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_00]: He knows what to say and he's very good looking.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's got the energy of Obama and I don't mean to compare him to Obama.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm comparing the charisma.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'm comparing that.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I'm gonna, I'm gonna co-sign that.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: He rolled into a, you know, I've, I've talked about the voter protection project on this show before and I'm the president of the board of the voter protection project.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's a national pact that works to get voting rights champions elected to office at the congressional and senatorial level.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: We, we, you know, we gave to us often we were we had the privilege of meeting him in someone's home here in Oakland and that guy walked in the room he knew.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: that, you know, VPP was there and we, you know, we'd thrown down.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: He came straight over to us to thank us.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: We were all kind of like that because he's probably six foot two.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: He had a fitted shirt on.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm not a jack of buying him.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just describing that.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: but he thanked us and then the executive director Heather Gravenworth who was drooling.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think everybody was drooling.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: Heather is six foot to herself.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: She's got a championship belt that like, you know, the prizefighters wear.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: And it's gold.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's got, it's bedazzled.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's legit.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: And it says on it voting rights champion and she's got that over her shoulder.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_01]: And she said Senator, would you and he goes,
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: Hell yes.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we got a picture of us off with the belt.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: We're dying.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_01]: Then he goes in addresses.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know, here's the crowd.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's a bunch of white people with money.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_01]: Let's be real.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's that's who's given to politics, right?
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's who can get us off into their room.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_01]: Now we do it a little differently in our house.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: We get we anybody can give and come and meet Latifa Simon or Pete Agular.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: hell yes or Barley because I believe politics should be accessible to everybody.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'll get the I'll get the max out donors and I'm also going to let the $25 you know student at Cal come into because hell yes, right?
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: But but anyway, this was not that room and that's fine.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: because he's got a race money, because he's got a race ahead of him in Georgia.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_01]: But I get what you're saying about that charisma and he's measured.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: And yes.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: And he's brilliant.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: See that's where, you know, it's like each person, I know everybody gets compared to everybody in politics.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I saw somebody do a post.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't remember, I think they were comparing
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was tall or ego, but anyway, and this guy was saying, you know, no, you can't compare.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: And I agree that you can't compare their personality per se, but you can look at all of a sudden here comes Obama.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's this young senator and he kind of just emerges.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: He had been around, but nobody was talking about him.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then because he's such an amazing order because he's measured, he wrote that book, the Audacity of Hope, and I think he talked about how he did Coke.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean he was just he was very real.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_00]: He's also an attractive man and you know we we live in a world that is I'm sorry But it's all optics or a thing in fact J.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_00]: B. Pritzker has just lost a hundred pounds Which tells me he's also running for president and James Carville who I am not a fan of but still James Carville That's his choice is Pritzker
- 28:12[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think we have some decent people that are going to be running.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: But regardless, yes, I do think Osloff is a sleeper candidate.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think that providing he wins his Senate race, he's absolutely going to be a contender for 2028.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_00]: And do you think?
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think?
- 28:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think he would.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, somebody said that.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_00]: And it might have been, I can't think of the guy's name, and he's on the socials, and I'll think of it later.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_00]: This person, whoever it was, was saying, here are my projects so far.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_00]: Who I think, you know, it's gonna be in 2020.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_00]: And then, off-suff as a screenwriter.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's gone, Galloway.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: Because I know that I got in trouble for saying, oh, yay, more white guys.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: And then somebody said, that this is not, of course, white guys.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: This is not the time.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_01]: This is not, we have to win and I go, listen.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think, because Galloway was on the thing, Galloway goes great.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think Talarico's great.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: I just think that we need to hear from more women and more women of color.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: We do, but I've said, I don't remember if I've said this to you, but okay, I'm, you know, my personal feeling about this is I would rather not have a woman on the ticket for 2020.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, because we can't win with a woman.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a fucking idiot, but as a vice presidential.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, hell yes.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what they were talking about.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, God.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: Because all they did, all they did was name, you know, white guys.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_00]: Offsuff would pick a woman.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_00]: Of course he would.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think I think most of them would.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think I don't if if Kelly if Mark Kelly decides to run.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what he would pick.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he would be a great choice.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think he would be a good president because we all have to remember this people.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_00]: Presidents don't have all the power.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: I know Donald Trump is stealing all the power.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_00]: But in an American, a democratic president doesn't have all the power.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_00]: A democratic president doesn't have all the power.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: And even fucking presidents before Trump, you're absolutely right.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: You're absolutely right.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: You're absolutely right.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_00]: May be a constitution.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was talking to my girlfriend this morning because we had that we hadn't spoken yet about where to and and all of this debacle this that debacle that's such a that that totally is the wrong word this disaster and this abuse
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: who plays a 15-year-old on TV.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: But when I was in 1974 and 75, my dad was going to graduate school at Stanford University.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: And we were broke.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: My parents had no money living in subsidized housing.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: We drank the powdered milk and ate the mustard sandwich, which is for dinner.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: This is no joke.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: And I remember my dad explaining to us.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: He was part of the Chicano Student Association at Stanford University and his twin brother was there.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_01]: And it was like, we had very meaningful conversations when I was eight years old.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: And when my brother was five,
- 31:11[SPEAKER_01]: That like we're not eating grapes and here's why because it was like no us what you know no grapes What does this mean dad and he explained to us until until the farm workers are treated like human being
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: we don't eat the food that they put on our table.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think my parents could have afforded fresh grapes at that time or I mean I guess that would the alternative would have been raisins and we didn't have that shit either.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: But listen, they so when we when my dad would come home to the little housing complex that we lived and he'd write up on his 10 speed and my brother and I swear to God stood on the other side of a cyclone fence with our fists, Chicano power style in the air.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, this goes deep because this and I've never in my life been glad my father was dead until this news came out yesterday.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's the one time that I was like, I'm glad he's gone because he didn't have to see this and my girlfriend and I were talking about this in her parents were very much a part of the movement as well.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, we're the exact same age her mom is 91 years old.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: She goes, I haven't even talked to my mom about it because I don't know at how she's going to know how she's going to fare.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: after this news.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: This is, this is so fucked up and so devastating, but it's like, okay, now all of our heroes.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_01]: Who, who, who do we have left?
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm going to look.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_00]: Mr Rogers.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_00]: Mr. Andy, Mr. Rogers.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_00]: The Laura Swift guy is one of my favorites.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_00]: The Laura is the wealth, yeah.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, I don't want to just bag on men, but I think the bottom line is when human beings, and I would say women are included in this, although because men have testosterone,
- 32:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're motivated differently, and that's not good or bad, just differently.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_00]: Human beings have, when I was an actor, my acting coach was like, look, you have to, in this class, you're going to deal with all the human emotions, all of them.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_00]: Even if they're not natural to your personality and you can't judge them because that's what humanity is.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_00]: Humanity is everything.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: I have the capability of murder.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_00]: I've never murdered anyone and I hope I never do.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I would be an act right.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_00]: But I swear you, you know, it's like, but we all are capable of it.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_00]: And so I think it's like, we just have to understand that when men specifically,
- 33:46[SPEAKER_00]: are given all the power, they're going to abuse it.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I think women do it too.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_00]: They just are different.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_00]: We have different motivations.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_00]: And I absolutely believe, there's the psychological conditioning, the things that we learn and what we're told, but there is, I mean, you can see it out in the wild.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_00]: There are sexual urges that are stronger, but just because a man has a sexual urge does not make him a rapist.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_00]: I don't believe that.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_00]: But I do believe that when you add like why did all of these men like what we're seeing in the Epstein files?
- 34:26[SPEAKER_00]: People like it's not entirely surprising to me after sitting with it for five minutes that D. Pop Chopra is a child molester, but I mean, I would have never assumed that for any reason.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_00]: But when I heard about it, and then I heard somebody say here's this man who is a guru and making millions upon millions upon millions, teaching everybody about feminine energy.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, get the fuck out of my face.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_00]: We need to get rid of the guru.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's I mean,
- 35:08[SPEAKER_00]: about like who we are, right?
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: Spirituality who we are.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't listen to a guru.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_00]: I've listened to a bunch of different people.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_00]: I take what resonates, what makes sense to me, what what feels right to me, even if I can't prove it.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I have basically developed my own conclusion.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I would assume that if you looked at everything that I looked at,
- 35:35[SPEAKER_00]: you might come to a similar conclusion, but you might have a few tweaks and go, you know what, that one really doesn't resonate with me.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_00]: And this resonates with me more.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's what I, and as far as like a spiritual thing, if you want to follow somebody's spiritual, I would never follow somebody like him, because now it's very clear, after he started making big money, why would you trust someone who is a multimillionaire,
- 36:03[SPEAKER_00]: Who's a man to tell you the secrets of life?
- 36:07[SPEAKER_00]: You got to figure those secrets of life out for yourself.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_00]: Another people can help you.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_00]: Other people can tell you there's all kinds of information online.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to go and look it up yourself, you know, there are near-death experiences.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't believe in that stuff, you don't have to worry about it.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_00]: But it's all there for you.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_00]: Everything is there for you.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_00]: You don't need one person to follow.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_00]: But I think people get so trapped in needing leaders, and needing people to tell them because they're upset with their life.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_00]: They're unhappy with their life and then here comes this man or woman because I know that what is it the fuck what is what is that the woman who was running for president chooses spiritual person.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Marianne.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_00]: I think she is.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like her personally.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_00]: I do like some of what whatever it is, I can't, of course of miracles.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think I have never studied the course of miracles.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: I did.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: My friend took me to see her speak like back in the 80s.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I liked what she had to say.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it was a spiritual message and I was never like fully into it and it's going to that one talk did not inspire me to go read the book or anything like that, but I, you know, it sounded good to me and and now when I look at her and what she's done with herself politically, I don't take her seriously, but some of the things in a course of miracles are valuable.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: Whether or not you believe in the whole thing, you can pick and choose and say, yeah, this makes sense to me and I like it, but that doesn't, you know, people want to look at one thing and say, this is the answer.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_00]: There is no one thing that's the answer.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_00]: And we have to figure it out for ourselves.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_00]: And anyway, this is this is all side
- 38:01[SPEAKER_00]: giving men all the power because when men have that power, they abuse it.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_00]: Women will abuse it too, but it's different and men I think I think what we're seeing is men have tendencies to because every fucking day, every fucking day, we're hearing about a Republican man who's a pedophile.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's just every day, keeps coming out.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_00]: And it's always a Republican.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_00]: And they're usually somewhere in government, whether it's like a city council or, you know, local small governments, school boards, shit like that.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like they're all over the fucking place.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not to say the Democratic man or liberal men are not rapist because obviously rape is not just with Republican men.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_00]: But, but you don't hear about it with women.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_00]: You don't hear about women abusing men.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I know men would not report it.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_00]: And it is under reported when women abuse men.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_00]: But these stories coming out are just constantly about fucking men.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_00]: And it's because men in our society are given this free pass.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_00]: And if you are white, I did an article in 2019 that it was, what was it, um,
- 39:11[SPEAKER_00]: something like no prison time for white men who rape women and children.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_00]: And it was just a list of all these different men, all different ages, and some of them were the fucking raped, newborns, and they didn't go to jail.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_00]: And because the white male judge was so fucking worried about this teenager's life.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_00]: Or, you know, and, and I don't know what the fucking trauma would be to a newborn because it doesn't have the words to describe or the critical thinking skills, but it experienced it.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_00]: But the, the, the, there's the physical physical destruction.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_00]: I.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_00]: And it's constantly, it's like I've seen so many reports lately about men raping infants and the thing is it's like when they're older and they can remember the judges are not giving any fucking nothing to the people who are raped what about their fucking life?
- 40:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they've they've already been ruined.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_00]: So let's just protect the white man who ruined it.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and think about, you know, going back to women who are in.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know, in prison or or kids that are in the foster system and, you know, juvenile detention and all that kind of stuff, can you imagine the horrors that take place there and exactly there's zero justice for those victims and not that.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: I say, and those are, those are, you know, union members who are working in there.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_01]: So let's, let's figure the fuck out how we tackle this problem.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_00]: There's so much to tackle.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_00]: But I think, you know, I mean, I've said this before that I hate saying this.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_00]: And I hate that this is true, but it's human.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's human psychology and it's human behavior that we don't make changes until we have to, and so I mean it just goes down to smokers, you know smokers oftentimes, oh, I will quit smoking now that I have cancer, you know, it's like now that all the damage is done, maybe I'll quit, but.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think that the worst it gets for us now, the better it gets for us later.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't want it to be that it gets so bad.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_00]: But the worst that it gets, because when you go back to the great recession, and people remembered, they remembered for a long last time.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_00]: We're not gonna remember forever.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_00]: were not as a people were going to go through a generation and then it's going to be forgotten.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_00]: And then it's got to happen all over again because I guarantee you, I mean, look, it happened to Nazi Germany, right?
- 41:44[SPEAKER_00]: It was only in the 1930s.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_00]: And it tried to come here, it didn't really take, but we had a world war to stop it, right?
- 41:53[SPEAKER_00]: You'd think, oh, we learned, while look what's happening right now, it's a fucking repeat.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not just here.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_00]: you know, a few different countries that are not facing this threat of fascism because it's hitting everywhere.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_00]: And we don't learn.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_00]: So we like to pretend that we do, but we don't.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_00]: So I've always likened it to the the the child has to touch.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_00]: the hot thing.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: Because when you're born, you don't know any better.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_00]: If you didn't experience it, it can be a, and then when you have fucking Republicans rewriting history, you can't even understand what history is in order to not repeat it.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, we are going to face it again, but the goal here is the worst that it gets for us right now, the better that
- 42:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be later because we're going to go, oh, this is what we got to fix.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_00]: And this is what we got to fix.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_00]: And this is what we got to fix.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_00]: But it's a fucking whole lot.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_00]: And then on top of it on top of it.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_00]: We're dealing with this massive fucking oligarch issue.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_00]: We had oligarchs back in the day.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_00]: When this country started, but it wasn't the kind of money we're seeing now wasn't the kind of.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_00]: global power that we see now, and then on top of everything else, we have to deal with AI, which I just have to throw out there.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_00]: There are great things about AI, but then there's also very dangerous things about AI.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_00]: I don't just automatically put AI into a negative space.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_00]: because it's just like the internet, there's so much damage that the internet has done, but there's also so much good that the internet has done.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_00]: So AI is just another thing.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's not going to go away.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I wish I wish people on social media would stop making everything they don't like and blaming AI.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's not all AI.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_00]: But, and I'll give you an example.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_00]: I've been screaming about this in my Facebook page.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_00]: It says humans want safer social media, but won't stop feeding the algorithm garbage.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, that's exactly what everybody is doing specifically on Facebook, you know, and it's like, people, they complain all the time about the disinformation, yet they share it.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then when it's brought up to them, this isn't real, the only source for this is Facebook, they leave it up.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus face.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_00]: So they say they want and some people leave it up because it's some stupid story about real housewives that isn't true, right?
- 44:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's just not true.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe they think I don't know what the reasoning is.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's this whole thing of I posted it and I'm just gonna keep it up because I'm not gonna let anyone tell me what to do.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: Or they're getting engagement that they usually don't get by sharing it.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_00]: Or there's an argument with politics where it's, well, they do it too.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, well then if you say they do it too,
- 44:48[SPEAKER_00]: you're just like them, you'll be coming them.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's not a convincing argument to me.
- 44:54[SPEAKER_00]: And there's all this fucking, I'm sorry, there's all this information on Facebook.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not even,
- 45:03[SPEAKER_00]: political.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's about the real housewives.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's about, you know, it's a guy was scrolling my, I have two feeds.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_00]: I have a feed where I just have family and friends.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_00]: So if people are finding out they're not accepting it, but I barely post on there.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_00]: And I just, I scroll it and I see all this shit about the housewives.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I think there was an Alisa Renna and Harry Hamlin thing.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't remember what it said.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_00]: But I thought this is true and I looked it up.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, it's not true.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_00]: The only fucking source was this Facebook post.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_00]: And so I would assume people think, well, it's just pop culture.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: But what's happening is Facebook is feeding us constant.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's just people are creating Facebook pages writing lies, getting tons.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_00]: engagement and usually they have a correlating blog.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_00]: So they're making money and they're making money off of Facebook because you can now, I do not.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_00]: But you can make money off of Facebook and they are making money off the lies.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a way for people to make money.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_00]: But what it's doing is
- 46:16[SPEAKER_00]: What's the word?
- 46:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like, the public doesn't know what's true and what's not true and it just it just shares whatever it feels like should be true or they like it.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's true.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: Don't spot, they don't, yeah, they, they, they, people are are lazy.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_01]: They want to believe they, you know, they're looking for for shit.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we're also used to the truth being posted most of the time.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_00]: And now everything has changed.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_00]: It changed real quick.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I want to, okay, I'm sorry, I'm on this big soap box, but I just want to take a really quick second to point out something that was written in this article that I have said, I said this on my patrons only show, but this person wrote the algorithm, it's not your enemy, it is your reflection.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, oh my god, because I just said this on my patrons only show, but I applied it more to life, because the same thing can be said on where are you, okay, when you're on Facebook, okay.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_00]: You see a post about Donald Trump and it makes you very angry.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_00]: So you give it the angry emoji and then you comment.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_00]: So what Facebook algorithm says is, oh, this person wants to see more content about Donald Trump.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's not paying attention to what you're saying or what your emoji is.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's just that you're engaging with it.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_00]: So they're gonna give you more.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_00]: Life is the same way.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_00]: Your physical reality is like an algorithm.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_00]: what you are putting your attention on, you're going to see more of that.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't mean that to say that we shouldn't put attention on Donald Trump.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think we should, but I think we need to understand what he's doing, we need to be informed and be very clear about that.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the majority of
- 48:02[SPEAKER_00]: should be on how we solve the problems that we're facing because of Donald Trump.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_00]: As opposed to, I hate Donald Trump.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_00]: Donald Trump is a pedo, and I mean, I'm guilty of this too.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_00]: We all are because we're upset, and it's natural for us to be angry.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_00]: But so many of us keep our focus on what makes us angry as opposed to keeping our focus on practical solutions, actionable solutions that will get us out of this, right?
- 48:31[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that is straight up practicality and it's, you know, it's like in in real life you don't have the control like I think that what we focus on in our imaginations and all that like you, like for instance, you got this idea to start this company where did it begin in your imagination and then you took actionable steps and you made it a reality in your in your physical and it all starts in our head.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_00]: And so I, you know, it's like I, as you know, for the past six years, this has been something I've been trying to figure out, how can I not only can I improve my life and live in a way that I would prefer?
- 49:12[SPEAKER_00]: I also want to be able to deal with what comes at me if I don't like it in a better way than I have.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think that I have, you know, definitely improved all of that.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we're all human and we're all going to, it's, nobody's ever going to just react perfectly, you know, I mean, you're going to, you're going to be upset and all that, but then after you upset how you handle it, but just like the algorithm.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_00]: There are other people in the world.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not just because what's going on in your imagination is the only thing you're going to experience.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to experience things from other energies, other people, Donald Trump, and that plus there's going to be physical shit going on with the Earth, whether it's earthquakes and rain, and just different things that you have to contend with.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_00]: And you don't have any control over what happens with what Trump is doing, what you have control over is
- 50:05[SPEAKER_00]: how you see it and how you behave and are you allowing this regime to scare you into doing nothing or are you using this regime to inspire you to create a better world.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_00]: And that's really what it boils down to and we can get all woo woo but it doesn't matter because we're living in this
- 50:33[SPEAKER_00]: excuse me.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_00]: I would like to, I just want to emphasize to everybody where you put your attention is so important and you know while you have a right to be outraged and so am I and it's find to express yourself and vent but don't only that.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_00]: Look for ways you can, you know, I mean, we've got this March coming up on the 28th.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think we're going to hit that 3.5% threshold, which means most, you know, like an autocracy can't really survive under, yeah, I want you talk about that a little bit more because I love that, but I never really got to drill down into how that works.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's just basically when 3.5% of any country shows up to protest, it's not a guarantee.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_00]: But history has proved autocracies do not survive.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_00]: And my mother and I have been talking about this and she thinks it's going to hit or go above that this time because we came close the last time.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know, there are like 3,000 protests separate protests.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see if I can find the
- 51:43[SPEAKER_00]: the meme on this, but I think this particular march is going to be the one that takes us over that threshold.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_00]: And it's because of what I said earlier that it is, you know, we're uncomfortable.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_00]: People have it, finally, people,
- 52:04[SPEAKER_00]: are getting out, so here it is.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_00]: Hands off has 1,300 events on March 28th.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_00]: No kings, 2,100 events.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why this is mentioned, okay, wait, it has this, no kings, oh, I see, okay, no kings number one was 2,100 events.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_00]: No kings number two was 2,700, and then now this is the third one, it's 3,000 and counting.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I think we're going to hit that threshold and also have, I mean, have you, have you seen what Marjorie Taylor Green has been saying and posting?
- 52:44[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this is funny because, um,
- 52:48[SPEAKER_00]: she put, I don't know what date this is, but it was from the other day.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_00]: I posted this on March 17th.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_00]: So she tweeted that she goes, I wholeheartedly support Megan Kelly telling the world that Mark Levin has a micro penis.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's the most deserved insult and I don't care if it's vulgar and Trump's gigantic defense of 11 only and raged the base more.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_00]: People are done.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_00]: Maga destroyed by micro penis Mark Levin, oh my god, so um, there is this big fucking split on their side.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Candace Owens, um, I don't, I don't remember what the deal is with Ben Shapiro, but I don't think Ben Shapiro's too happy right now with maga.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_00]: So we've got these big big.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, even Milo, you're not bless said that he said that Trump staged.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_00]: That whole that he wasn't attacked or, you know, when they got shot, that he wasn't shot, that it was all staged and bullshit.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you love it.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's all I'm daddy.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_00]: So we're seeing a split in mega and we're seeing this, I mean, it's not a big enough split right now where everybody's just going to like say fuck Trump.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_00]: Although, wait a minute, did you see that woman, who is at the gas pump?
- 54:09[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, there was a Magical Minute.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, in Pennsylvania.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a fucking idiot.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_00]: That one.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_00]: Well, first of all, they go, what do you think of Trump?
- 54:18[SPEAKER_00]: But she goes, he's a big pile of shit.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then he's like, did you vote for him?
- 54:23[SPEAKER_00]: She goes, yeah, three times.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_00]: I guess that makes me an idiot.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's like you said it, so it makes me a fucking idiot.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so God love her.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I think that the we okay.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, I'm monopolizing.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_00]: I got to stop.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_00]: I got to let you talk.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, I love it.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I know you have to go soon.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_00]: But I know.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, I don't.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_01]: I just, while we've been here, ranting and raving, my thing got canceled.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_01]: So, oh, well, that's so great.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so that I don't feel like I have to hurry this.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I think, okay, now what was I just gonna say?
- 54:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the,
- 55:01[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's really hard, like the woman that I talked to last week talked about occult, right?
- 55:05[SPEAKER_00]: And how what's going to happen when Trump dies?
- 55:08[SPEAKER_00]: And her whole thing was she was raised in occult.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_00]: It was a fucking sex trafficking cult.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_00]: And she was saying that when he dies, I mean, he's the head, you know, he's the leader.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_00]: They're probably just going to most of them, not all of them, but most of them are just going to go off and find other things to, you know, other cults.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_00]: They'll figure it out, they're going to find another conspiracy group that a lot of those people are just kind of wired that way.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_00]: But there's a lot of people in this country who are kind of waking up.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that the ones that are in the cult,
- 55:43[SPEAKER_00]: The reason why they voted for Trump, yes, I'm sure there's racism, I'm sure there's sexism, I'm sure there's all the things that we were warning them about and everything and they just didn't care.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, it's because they are flawed human beings.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_00]: But think about it.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_00]: They a lot of these people were indoctrinated by this patriarchal, whether it's an evangelical or hardcore right attitude, that's all they've ever known.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_00]: And then on top of it, they're whole fucking family and friend structure.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's organized around it.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_00]: And it depends on you being part of that.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_00]: And so if you are, like, for instance, I've got my MAGA family member who everybody she knows is MAGA.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_00]: So if I come to her and I go, hey, let me show you this piece of information that you're not gonna like.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_00]: She's just not gonna accept it.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_00]: Because she can't, then what is she gonna do?
- 56:46[SPEAKER_00]: Right, it's safe, by the way, I've changed my tune.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_00]: Right, that's not going to fly.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_00]: So when people do wake up and they say, hey, I see it.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to beat them up and say, fuck you, you ruined everything, right?
- 57:01[SPEAKER_00]: They did, but they came from a visit and it's not, it's not defending them.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's like I always try to look at this, how would a doctor look at it?
- 57:10[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody who's not emotionally affected by all of this.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_00]: How do they look at it and then when you look at it and you understand, oh, it's because they grew up in this and they didn't know any different and they didn't
- 57:25[SPEAKER_00]: have enough of whatever it takes to branch out.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_00]: They just didn't have it.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_00]: They either didn't know.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody ever told them.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_00]: They never were curious about it.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_00]: But they weren't raised to be.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_00]: I was raised by a mother who went when anybody used the N word in front of us.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_00]: She fucking spoke up and it made me uncomfortable as a little girl because I was afraid for her.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_00]: people don't like that shit.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_00]: And mostly it was family members, so it's not that I was afraid to do.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_00]: But it was like, I didn't know what was going to happen.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_00]: Most people don't do that.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_00]: Most people just let the races say what they're going to say, and then they just they're quiet about it.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_00]: Not my mother.
- 58:07[SPEAKER_00]: So I grew up with that kind of thing.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_00]: And that's how I am.
- 58:12[SPEAKER_00]: The people who are voting for Trump did not grow up that way.
- 58:15[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't grow up with your parents.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, I feel like we gotta, we don't have to become their best friend.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have to invite them over to our houses for dinner, but don't you want them to either not vote for the fascists?
- 58:32[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, I would love for them to vote for Democrats, but I know that's not gonna happen for many of them.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_00]: But I would rather they not vote for the fascists.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_00]: Stay home.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_00]: And if we say, fuck you, you ruined everything, we're never forgiving you.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_00]: How does that benefit us?
- 58:50[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, really, just be selfish about it.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't benefit us.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_00]: What benefits us is saying, we're really glad that you're seeing the truth now.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just keep going.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's all.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to be their best friend.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I know everybody's so fucking angry, but it's like, how does living in resentment help everybody?
- 59:11[SPEAKER_00]: Again, where are you putting your focus?
- 59:13[SPEAKER_00]: Are you focused on how angry are you focused on how resentful you are because we're all going to have that focus for a while in our lives, you know, whether it's work or politics.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, these things are going to come up and make us feel this way.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_00]: But if we sit there in that energy and stack it and this and that and this reason and I'm angry for this reason.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_00]: So all you're doing is making yourself upset.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_00]: and you're not out there with a solution.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_00]: We need solutions.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_00]: We need people to go out and I think we're gonna see it, but we need people to get the fuck out of their houses on March 28th, whether you have a sign or not, bring your phone and show up.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm just like, I told you, so when I'm gonna pissed off mood, I start getting all ranty.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_00]: I love frantic you, frantic you is my favorite I love her before we go I know you don't have to go but before we go for a little bit longer.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to talk about more fun things.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, so are there any are you watching the pit.
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_00]: Hell yes, I don't know if we talked about that before the pit kicks.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_00]: I love that chose so much.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_00]: Did we talk about.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_00]: What's her name, the nurse Dana?
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_00]: I love her so much.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_00]: Baby, Jane, down.
- 1:00:29[SPEAKER_00]: Baby, Jane, down.
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_01]: I love her so much.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_01]: Dana and I love her story.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, she was out of work for so long.
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_01]: And she is just, I look at her talent.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_01]: And just the, like, she is the glue.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_01]: and the soul and all of it.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like everything that comes out of her mouth, honestly, is gold.
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, doing thriving.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_00]: She, she, I was watching her, and I'm thinking to she really, because they're in Pittsburgh.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_00]: So, and that's a Pittsburgh accent.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, she nailed it.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_00]: There's the mid-edlantic, and I'm telling you, okay, like, for instance, in Maryland alone.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, God, I'm trying to think of some,
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_00]: like there's the hardcore, it's like people who live in Essex or people.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm trying to think of another another place and I can't think of the name of it, but they have the really, it's like hard care.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, over to your hand, go over to your own table.
- 1:01:32[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, you did it!
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's like the hardcore, and then there's the light, right?
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_00]: So like my aunt, she's got a Maryland accent.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_00]: But hers is like, Scott, hey, Scott, or, you know, she doesn't talk like that other kind of nasal deeper over the era when she doesn't say, oh my god, you have got that's a tough one to do.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_01]: You got it.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I learned it when my I had always wanted to do it and I couldn't I would start doing it and when to become this like kind of Brooklyn thing and my grandma passed away in 2007 and my mom came here for her funeral and it was so weird because I mean my grandmother was 93.
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_00]: And she was very ready.
- 1:02:19[SPEAKER_00]: She was, she had dementia and she was just very ready to go.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, the night before she died, she said to my aunt, why am I still here?
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_00]: So her death was not.
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it was sad that we said goodbye, but it wasn't a sad thing.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I didn't.
- 1:02:32[SPEAKER_01]: Still here.
- 1:02:32[SPEAKER_01]: Don't.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm getting, please remind me to tell you some of the shit my mom said at the end.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_01]: We just said.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, me, Dick.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I'm sure.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_00]: But my grandmother was just thinking, what the fuck am I still here?
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_00]: She's 93.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_00]: All my friends are dead.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_00]: Let me just go.
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_00]: So when I was in Maryland with my mom, we actually had a fun time and we were in Baltimore and there's something called a Baltimore hunt and what's his name, you know, the herspray.
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_00]: Oh John Waters so John Waters hit that nail on the head with that with divine because she was a Baltimore hunt she had the fucking house dress and the hair and the curlers and the slipper sandals and so I mean that's like a thing here so especially back in the day not so much anymore although back in 2007 my mom and I stopped in a fucking 7-11 and then were Baltimore Huns working there and it was like and they had the full on
- 1:03:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I would remember being on the plane coming home and I started talking about it.
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, Oh my god, I can do it now.
- 1:03:36[SPEAKER_00]: I can do it.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_00]: So when I listened to Nurse Dana, I thought, Oh my god, is she from Pittsburgh?
- 1:03:43[SPEAKER_00]: I had never seen her before.
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_00]: And although I have to say the first time I saw her face, I'm like, I want to look like her.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_00]: I want to look like her.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_00]: But I just, I love the way she looks.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_00]: But, and she's talking to everything that I saw that, you know,
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, yeah, that's the same vocal coach and she's perfect.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_00]: David Jane Dow.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_00]: I love that show so much.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_00]: And tonight tonight we get to watch it again.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, indeed.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_00]: And then, okay, and then, did you ever watch a scape at Dan Amora?
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh hell yeah yeah Bob and I we're gonna watch the last one we watched it the first time and then we're we've watched we're watching it again and we're gonna watch the the I think tomorrow we'll probably watch the last show but do you know that scene where Benito oh my god this was the best part so he's talking to Tilly which is Patricia Arquette and he's explaining to her in this moment that he and uh sweat I think the guys name is are gonna break out of the prison
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_00]: So he tells her and then he walks up to her, and he goes.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_00]: Don't tell me, whoa, he's like this weird fucking banizio choice.
- 1:05:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I remember the first time I saw that, I was like, Oh, my fucking God.
- 1:05:06[SPEAKER_00]: And there is a YouTube video of it.
- 1:05:10[SPEAKER_00]: There is a look on her face and I'm sure that this was probably something where they're like, okay, but I need to just have fun with it.
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_00]: And he did whatever.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_00]: And she wasn't expecting it.
- 1:05:23[SPEAKER_00]: And it was like, oh my god, that was so good.
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_00]: I love, and you know what?
- 1:05:27[SPEAKER_00]: I watched that show.
- 1:05:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I look at Bob and for all the shit that we complain about all day, I'm like, at least we don't live where they live and have to wake up and both go work in a prison where you're worrying about if I'm fucking an inmate.
- 1:05:41[SPEAKER_00]: You know, right, right, right.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_00]: So we might have some, you know, issues and problems in our life, but nothing like that.
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_00]: But oh my god, it's so good.
- 1:05:48[SPEAKER_00]: Is there anything else you're watching now?
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes.
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_01]: I love shrinking and I cry happy tears.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so touched each week by that show.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_01]: Love it.
- 1:06:02[SPEAKER_01]: Um, let's see, I just started watching imperfect women last night.
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_01]: What's that?
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_01]: I've never heard that.
- 1:06:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's Carrie Washington Elizabeth Moss and Kate Marra and it's a, you know,
- 1:06:15[SPEAKER_01]: uh one of them is murdered and they're their best friends and it's wild and I'm only two episodes in and then of course I fell asleep sitting straight up in a night gown with a fan aimed at me and I'm like three episodes in but or however many episodes I'm in I have to go back and figure out where I nod it off but it's decent you know it'll it'll keep me
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_01]: it'll keep me busy until the pit comes out tonight.
- 1:06:41[SPEAKER_01]: I just watched a night of the seven kingdoms which I love.
- 1:06:46[SPEAKER_01]: It took me a couple episodes to get into.
- 1:06:48[SPEAKER_01]: I loved it.
- 1:06:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's about it, I think.
- 1:06:55[SPEAKER_01]: What are you watching?
- 1:06:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, we're what, I mean, of course we rivalry, please.
- 1:07:00[SPEAKER_00]: No, watch that.
- 1:07:01[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:07:02[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.
- 1:07:04[SPEAKER_00]: Kevin.
- 1:07:06[SPEAKER_00]: Bob and I are creatures of habit.
- 1:07:08[SPEAKER_00]: And what we like to do is watch an hour show, and then a half hour show.
- 1:07:12[SPEAKER_00]: And the half hour show is we wanted to be funny.
- 1:07:14[SPEAKER_00]: So we're back on Chitz Creek.
- 1:07:16[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, you know what I got to watch that.
- 1:07:18[SPEAKER_01]: I never watched shit's Creek.
- 1:07:20[SPEAKER_00]: You never watched it?
- 1:07:21[SPEAKER_01]: I know that's what I get every time I say that.
- 1:07:23[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let me tell you one thing.
- 1:07:25[SPEAKER_00]: And this is my personal opinion.
- 1:07:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that everyone feels the same way.
- 1:07:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't pick up his name.
- 1:07:31[SPEAKER_00]: God damn it.
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_00]: I have to look up his name right now.
- 1:07:33[SPEAKER_00]: But no, no, no, no, I like all the livis.
- 1:07:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's, I'll pick up his name.
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_00]: He's the mayor of the town.
- 1:07:40[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, Chris Elliott.
- 1:07:41[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Elliott.
- 1:07:42[SPEAKER_00]: Why do I know this?
- 1:07:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I've never seen the show because I don't like his character.
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like his character ever.
- 1:07:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's the first season he is really annoying and he doesn't fit with the show.
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why he's on but whatever.
- 1:07:59[SPEAKER_00]: I would not have cast him in that role.
- 1:08:03[SPEAKER_00]: He gets a little easier through the season.
- 1:08:05[SPEAKER_00]: His wife, Jocelyn, is fucking hysterical.
- 1:08:09[SPEAKER_00]: But, and she gets funnier and funnier as the seasons go on.
- 1:08:14[SPEAKER_00]: The show gets better and better with every season.
- 1:08:17[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, the thing about it, just like with Ted Lasso, and shrinking, it is about love.
- 1:08:22[SPEAKER_00]: And so, even though it is this group of really rich people who lost out their money and they're all very superficial and everything, it's it's still about love and it's done so well and it's it's very cookie it's just a cookie cookie.
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 1:08:38[SPEAKER_01]: Catherine O'Hara and you needy like a say no more I don't know why.
- 1:08:42[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't ever do it.
- 1:08:44[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'm gonna start it.
- 1:08:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna start it tonight.
- 1:08:46[SPEAKER_00]: But keep in mind, it's gonna be better as the, it's good.
- 1:08:50[SPEAKER_00]: It starts off good.
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, the Chris Elliott part is really fucking grating and he's in it a little too much as far as I'm concerned.
- 1:08:58[SPEAKER_00]: But as the series progresses, it just becomes easier and he's not quite as annoying.
- 1:09:02[SPEAKER_00]: But okay, so we watch that.
- 1:09:05[SPEAKER_00]: Tid bit about Chris Elliott, do you watch the bear?
- 1:09:07[SPEAKER_00]: No, we tried, we just can't get into it.
- 1:09:13[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I know everyone loves it, but his daughter is Abbey Elliott and um, she's fantastic and the she's fantastic.
- 1:09:22[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I, I mean, I, that show it, oh, I know everyone loves it, but you know what I Bob liked it and I didn't we just watch the Springsteen movie and yeah, I just touched that too.
- 1:09:32[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was fucking boring and he liked it, but I didn't my mother like it either.
- 1:09:36[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, it was it was fine.
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_01]: I love anything Bruce Springsteen related.
- 1:09:42[SPEAKER_01]: I love Bruce Springsteen.
- 1:09:46[SPEAKER_01]: I enjoyed it.
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_01]: It was, you know, I enjoyed it, but it's it's not, you know, it's not the boss, right?
- 1:09:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's like it's the deep dark.
- 1:09:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:09:56[SPEAKER_01]: Underpinnings of what made him and then that home Nebraska album, which is one of my favorite albums of all time.
- 1:10:03[SPEAKER_01]: Um, it's really truly a work of art.
- 1:10:06[SPEAKER_01]: Um, that's what that's what they're touching on.
- 1:10:08[SPEAKER_01]: I thought Jeremy's strong as he was great.
- 1:10:11[SPEAKER_00]: He was freaking brilliant.
- 1:10:13[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he was really good.
- 1:10:14[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I thought everybody, the acting was great.
- 1:10:16[SPEAKER_00]: I just, the story didn't do it for me and I knew what it was.
- 1:10:20[SPEAKER_00]: It just, I don't know.
- 1:10:22[SPEAKER_00]: I just didn't have energy for me.
- 1:10:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, I watched it on a plane, so you know, sometimes yeah, that's a different perspective.
- 1:10:29[SPEAKER_00]: It is, it is different, but I did, I did like it, you know, and then let me, oh, you know what, there's a, I want to see the movie.
- 1:10:39[SPEAKER_00]: Is it called weapons?
- 1:10:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I saw that.
- 1:10:42[SPEAKER_00]: And that's where, uh, what's her name, Amy Madigan?
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:10:46[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:10:46[SPEAKER_00]: I want us to do like that.
- 1:10:48[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't love it.
- 1:10:48[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:10:49[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I don't know anything about it other than that she won.
- 1:10:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then, um, there's another show and I can't remember the name of it.
- 1:10:56[SPEAKER_00]: Fuck, what is the name of it?
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't seen it yet.
- 1:11:00[SPEAKER_00]: But I, I saw, I, I told Bob we have to watch this.
- 1:11:03[SPEAKER_00]: And I, I can't really remember much about it at all.
- 1:11:06[SPEAKER_00]: And, uh, oh, I'll tell you just really quickly.
- 1:11:08[SPEAKER_00]: I, I started to watch.
- 1:11:11[SPEAKER_00]: the Edgain story by Ryan Murphy on Netflix.
- 1:11:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I already kind of talked about this on the other shows so I won't get into it, but it's about the serial killer Edgain.
- 1:11:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know, this is from the 30s.
- 1:11:26[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the one with Charlie Hanham.
- 1:11:29[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know who that is.
- 1:11:30[SPEAKER_00]: I guess that's him.
- 1:11:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:11:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:11:32[SPEAKER_01]: And Gaines is a one with the weird voice.
- 1:11:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:11:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:11:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:11:36[SPEAKER_00]: And his mother was Lori Metcath, and she was fucking great from Rosanne.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_00]: She was insanely good.
- 1:11:40[SPEAKER_00]: And she was only, I mean, I don't, I won't get into it.
- 1:11:43[SPEAKER_00]: But what I will say is that I know that that was supposed to be somebody told me about that and said it was terrifying.
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_00]: And so I was like, oh, good.
- 1:11:52[SPEAKER_00]: I love terrifying.
- 1:11:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I went to watch it.
- 1:11:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought it was so
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_00]: completely ridiculous that I laughed.
- 1:12:00[SPEAKER_00]: He dug up a body in a grave and carried it and I was laughing.
- 1:12:05[SPEAKER_01]: I saw that part.
- 1:12:06[SPEAKER_01]: I turned it off.
- 1:12:07[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't, I just wasn't blown away by it.
- 1:12:09[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't good.
- 1:12:11[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't good.
- 1:12:12[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 1:12:12[SPEAKER_00]: I need to shut up and then I have to go work and do my other jobs.
- 1:12:16[SPEAKER_00]: So, um, oh my God.
- 1:12:17[SPEAKER_00]: So, I, um,
- 1:12:19[SPEAKER_00]: We have to talk off of Mike about your new position.
- 1:12:22[SPEAKER_00]: So we will, but you know, another date.
- 1:12:25[SPEAKER_01]: But as you know, I'm going out on a limb.
- 1:12:29[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I get good and sometimes I'm like, I can do this.
- 1:12:37[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's how I feel sometimes, but yes, all right, what's your, what, where do you want people to follow you?
- 1:12:44[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, hell.
- 1:12:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even care at this point.
- 1:12:48[SPEAKER_01]: No, that's not true.
- 1:12:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 1:12:50[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I love right now, Instagram.
- 1:12:54[SPEAKER_01]: what's my thing because it's fun because it's mindless because I can get snippets and I can I can watch, you know, horses giving birth and I can see Ryan Kougler accepting an Oscar and I can watch, you know, dumb bullshit that Trump does but I I don't know and I don't really have to participate like it's low effort.
- 1:13:18[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so what's my Instagram, you know, I'm, I'll only, I, I don't post much other than to say sometimes things like O.A.
- 1:13:27[SPEAKER_01]: white guys.
- 1:13:36[SPEAKER_01]: STPH Dominguez Walton, come find me there and see some of the crazy shit I say.
- 1:13:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 1:13:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 1:13:45[SPEAKER_00]: All righty then.
- 1:13:46[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know, listen, the light, the world is, the world is fucked.
- 1:13:51[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes, it is.
- 1:13:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it is.
- 1:13:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know if we can I say something exciting.
- 1:13:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you can.
- 1:13:58[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:13:58[SPEAKER_01]: So my I'm going to the airport after we hang up and I'm going to go pick up my son who's coming home for four days at his spring break and he's graduating from college in May and it's really exciting.
- 1:14:08[SPEAKER_01]: He made a movie.
- 1:14:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's doing like,
- 1:14:10[SPEAKER_01]: you know, he wants to be a filmmaker and he wrote and directed and is in starting shooting this senior project that has been like, it's the culmination of four years at NYU in the Tisch School of the Arts and he, I'm just so proud of him and he, I believe he really has the talent that he's an artist, he's an he's incredible.
- 1:14:33[SPEAKER_01]: And then I have this precious other child,
- 1:14:38[SPEAKER_01]: And who's a senior at high school and graduating on, I think it's May 30th, and she is starting to get into colleges, and so very excited for her.
- 1:14:52[SPEAKER_01]: She's got her heart set like she has two tops, and one she was waitlisted at and one she was admitted to early and didn't even apply for early admission.
- 1:15:01[SPEAKER_01]: And that one is kind of like, oh my god, but that would mean that she would go to New York also.
- 1:15:07[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 1:15:08[SPEAKER_01]: And the other one is a California, a UC in California.
- 1:15:12[SPEAKER_01]: And so we'll see what she ends up.
- 1:15:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think she'll probably get taken off the waitlist at that at that UC.
- 1:15:19[SPEAKER_01]: And so she's going to have a really tough choice on her hands.
- 1:15:21[SPEAKER_01]: But we're going to visit the one in New York next weekend and do a little tour and see what's up.
- 1:15:30[SPEAKER_01]: But then my husband and I are going to be empty nesters.
- 1:15:33[SPEAKER_01]: What the hell?
- 1:15:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like I don't even get my head around that.
- 1:15:40[SPEAKER_01]: The only thing I'm looking forward to is my house is going to be really fucking clean.
- 1:15:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:15:44[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, then I'm going to be with my man and it's just kind of crazy town.
- 1:15:51[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, exciting stuff.
- 1:15:54[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 1:15:54[SPEAKER_00]: That's really awesome.
- 1:15:55[SPEAKER_00]: Congratulations on your new position and we all wish you not good luck, good energy.
- 1:16:01[SPEAKER_00]: I like to say that good energy to you because you don't need luck.
- 1:16:05[SPEAKER_00]: You are working hard and you just all the good energy to you and I hope that you get to find darlin tons and tons and tons of clients.
- 1:16:12[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so we've been talking for a long-ass fucking time and it's fine.
- 1:16:16[SPEAKER_00]: We it is fun and we just like we could probably keep talking But we could it's been a long ago You know it as friends, but no, this is like the first time we've actually talked in a long time at all I know normally we just have a hard Yeah, all right, we will talk next time.
