- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, let's get into it because we're talking

- 0:23Speaker 1: the channel. A couple of things I want to hit
- 0:25Speaker 1: on real quickly is this engagement between Trump and Schumer.
- 0:30Speaker 1: The bitterness is real, and it does increase the odds
- 0:35Speaker 1: of the potential shutdown. And I'm just telling everybody that
- 0:37Speaker 1: if we get a shutdown, this is going to have
- 0:40Speaker 1: some impact on your bags. And I'll talk about whether
- 0:42Speaker 1: or not you should be ready for this or not
- 0:45Speaker 1: as we get into it. I want to go to
- 0:46Speaker 1: this first clip though. Let's play stop one.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I think you could very well end up with a
- 0:52Speaker 2: closed country for a period of time.
- 0:54Speaker 3: We passed the Continuing Resolution in the Republican House today
- 1:00Speaker 3: an amazing vote actually, But in the Senate we have
- 1:03Speaker 3: fifty three Republicans total and we need sixty votes.
- 1:07Speaker 2: That means we need Democrat votes. But I think you
- 1:11Speaker 2: could very well end up with a closed country for
- 1:15Speaker 2: a period of time. And we'll take care of the military,
- 1:20Speaker 2: We'll take care of social Security, we'll take care of
- 1:22Speaker 2: the things that we have to take care of a
- 1:24Speaker 2: lot of the things that Democrats fight for, which in
- 1:26Speaker 2: many cases aren't very good. Things will not be able
- 1:30Speaker 2: to be paid. So we'll watch and see how they
- 1:33Speaker 2: do with that. Don't have to handle the constituents pretty carefully,
- 1:38Speaker 2: all right.
- 1:38Speaker 1: So as you can see, Trump is prepping it. I
- 1:40Speaker 1: don't know if he is posturing for a negotiation with
- 1:43Speaker 1: the Democrats or what. But Schumer comes in and defends
- 1:47Speaker 1: himself in terms of a switch up in their position.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Take a look at this.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Either proceed with the bill before us, or risk Donald
- 1:55Speaker 4: Trump throwing America into the chaos of a shutdown. This,
- 2:03Speaker 4: in my view, is no choice at all. While the
- 2:08Speaker 4: cr bill is very bad, the potential for a shutdown
- 2:14Speaker 4: has consequences for America that are much much worse.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Mister Leader, do no longer believe what you said six
- 2:22Speaker 5: months ago.
- 2:23Speaker 3: There.
- 2:23Speaker 4: Things have changed, Dana in three ways. First, since March
- 2:27Speaker 4: when that happened, the American people have seen how terrible
- 2:31Speaker 4: the Trump administration policies are. Their costs are going up
- 2:35Speaker 4: because of tariffs, because of electric bills, and most of
- 2:38Speaker 4: all because of the decimation of healthcare.
- 2:40Speaker 1: All right, So, as you can see, he was his
- 2:42Speaker 1: hardline position right there. Trump came through though I believe
- 2:46Speaker 1: he might have saw this interview and look at what
- 2:49Speaker 1: he did. Take a look at this point.
- 2:50Speaker 5: A government shutdown is still looming a next Tuesday if
- 2:54Speaker 5: they can't resolve things by then, and a meeting that
- 2:56Speaker 5: was supposed to happen between Hakeem Jeffreys, Chuck Schumer, the
- 3:00Speaker 5: top Democrats, and Trump has now been canceled by Trump.
- 3:03Speaker 5: He posted on truth Social this morning saying that after
- 3:07Speaker 5: reviewing the details of what he called unserious and ridiculous
- 3:10Speaker 5: demands being made by the minority radical elect Democrats or
- 3:13Speaker 5: returns from their votes to keep our thriving country open,
- 3:16Speaker 5: I have decided that no meeting with their congressional leaders
- 3:20Speaker 5: could possibly be productive. And he went on for a
- 3:23Speaker 5: while after that kind of criticizing some of the things
- 3:26Speaker 5: they're asking for, which remember a lot of this is
- 3:28Speaker 5: going to be about healthcare. That's what Democrats are staking
- 3:31Speaker 5: this on. They're looking for an extension of those Affordable
- 3:34Speaker 5: Care Act premium tax credits or else. Insurance costs are
- 3:37Speaker 5: going to rise for millions of Americans.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Is the risk?
- 3:40Speaker 1: Is the shutdown risk more acute in the Senate, which,
- 3:43Speaker 1: as you said, is going to be the only one
- 3:44Speaker 1: that has a chance to address it within the week.
- 3:47Speaker 5: I mean, Carl, it all is really going to depend
- 3:49Speaker 5: on Democrats at this point, Chuck Schumer. She seems to
- 3:52Speaker 5: be holding firm saying that unless Democrats get some sort
- 3:55Speaker 5: of win on healthcare, they will not provide Republicans the
- 3:58Speaker 5: votes they need.
- 3:59Speaker 1: So, as you can see, Trump cancels the meeting. Whether
- 4:01Speaker 1: this is a negotiation or not, I don't know what
- 4:04Speaker 1: we're dealing with right now, though, is the Dems really
- 4:07Speaker 1: have no teeth and it kind of shows in this clip.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Take a look, and.
- 4:11Speaker 4: This is going to be Donald Trump shutdown. Democrats are
- 4:16Speaker 4: ready to work with the President. We're willing to sit
- 4:19Speaker 4: down with him today, tomorrow, We'll even come to the
- 4:21Speaker 4: golf course and sit down with him wherever he wants
- 4:25Speaker 4: to go. That's okay, all right.
- 4:28Speaker 1: So it's looking like the government shutdown at least right now.
- 4:31Speaker 1: If you believe polymarket is at a sixty five percent
- 4:36Speaker 1: range right now on the possibility of it, that's pretty high, guys,
- 4:39Speaker 1: that's pretty high. So the real question is how does
- 4:41Speaker 1: this plan to your portfolio?
- 4:42Speaker 6: Is?
- 4:43Speaker 1: If we do get a shutdown, do expect some volatility?
- 4:46Speaker 1: The real question would be because you could play this
- 4:48Speaker 1: two ways. One, if there is volatility, there's an entry point.
- 4:51Speaker 1: It also could be maybe a flight to safety in crypto.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Can you imagine where we could see some movement there.
- 4:57Speaker 1: So there are a lot of factors that play out.
- 5:00Speaker 1: So you're going to have to be very diligent on
- 5:02Speaker 1: watching what is working right now now. Congress has been
- 5:06Speaker 1: putting in a lot of work lately. They're trying to
- 5:09Speaker 1: get these bills passed, they're trying to get things do going.
- 5:12Speaker 1: So I thought, hey, you know what, let's just show
- 5:14Speaker 1: how hard they're working. Take a look.
- 5:17Speaker 6: The United States Senate was in session for a total
- 5:20Speaker 6: of twenty nine seconds on Monday. That's exactly twenty nine
- 5:24Speaker 6: seconds longer than the House of Representatives. Hello Hello, Hello, No,
- 5:30Speaker 6: still nobody. So the House and Senate were already scheduled
- 5:33Speaker 6: to be on recess this week for Rashishana, and the
- 5:35Speaker 6: House of Representatives was originally scheduled to come back on Monday,
- 5:38Speaker 6: the twenty ninth, but now Speaker Johnson pushed that back
- 5:42Speaker 6: until at least October one. The government funding deadline is
- 5:46Speaker 6: September thirtieth, so now they're scheduled to come back after
- 5:49Speaker 6: the government is already shut down. They believe it will
- 5:53Speaker 6: put pressure on the Senate to pass a continuing resolution
- 5:57Speaker 6: to keep the government open on a temporary basis they
- 6:00Speaker 6: come up with a permanent solution. They never came up
- 6:02Speaker 6: with a deal for fiscal year twenty twenty five. They
- 6:05Speaker 6: pretty much copied and pasted twenty twenty four's budget and
- 6:09Speaker 6: used it for all of this year. And that's how
- 6:12Speaker 6: the government has been operating.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I love the consistency and the amazing diligence of our
- 6:19Speaker 1: US Congress as they get out there and do things
- 6:21Speaker 1: just like this. This is a problem, guys, because it
- 6:24Speaker 1: does kind of point in one direction, and that is
- 6:27Speaker 1: maybe a shutdown. If you look at the history of
- 6:29Speaker 1: this nineteen eighty we saw this under Carter, we saw
- 6:32Speaker 1: this under Reagan several times, Clinton, Obama. Trump had his
- 6:36Speaker 1: two shots, both in twenty eighteen, and we stayed open
- 6:40Speaker 1: I think the longest under Trump, or it should say
- 6:43Speaker 1: closed the longest under Trump, which was thirty five days.
- 6:46Speaker 1: So if that does happen, expect some volatility. I think
- 6:49Speaker 1: this is a factor you've got to get into. Government
- 6:52Speaker 1: shut down would be looming if Congress hadn't spent the
- 6:54Speaker 1: last eight to ten months on vacation through that. And
- 6:57Speaker 1: I think this is the issue that we are facing
- 6:59Speaker 1: right now, the how over it is not working for us.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Take it into your own hands. Let's go to this
- 7:03Speaker 1: tweet right here. This is Eleanor Tarrett hitting on where
- 7:06Speaker 1: the current market structure bill is. And the timing is
- 7:09Speaker 1: interesting because September thirty was really the target. That's not
- 7:12Speaker 1: happening because they're too lazy to work. I guess I
- 7:15Speaker 1: don't know, But the point is is that we're not
- 7:16Speaker 1: getting in decisions and the possible new target now is
- 7:20Speaker 1: set for the week of the twentieth October twentieth. Remember
- 7:23Speaker 1: there's a big meeting with the Fed on the new
- 7:25Speaker 1: payment innovations that happens on the twenty first October is
- 7:30Speaker 1: happening or we hope it's going to happen, and of
- 7:33Speaker 1: course the market is potentially at risk here. The likelihood
- 7:37Speaker 1: is I don't think we're going to see necessarily a shutdown.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I think maybe we get a day or two, but
- 7:41Speaker 1: no extended. And I think there's where the opportunity lies
- 7:44Speaker 1: going into October. So if you guys are not part
- 7:47Speaker 1: of the channel, make sure and subscribe right now. Do that,
