- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on. Ah huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody
- 0:06Speaker 1: you're listening to the voice, Come on digny now, one
- 0:11Speaker 1: and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Okay, I
- 0:18Speaker 1: want to talk to you today about success. But I
- 0:24Speaker 1: want to talk to you about it like I usually
- 0:28Speaker 1: do in terms of a principle of it, but I
- 0:31Speaker 1: want to share something with you about it. And I
- 0:35Speaker 1: was talking to my daughter about it. I've talked about
- 0:39Speaker 1: my son in law about it, talked about it with
- 0:41Speaker 1: all my children, and I'm really starting to express it
- 0:44Speaker 1: to them now because I'm talking to a wide range
- 0:47Speaker 1: of people constantly. But I want to share something with you.
- 0:52Speaker 1: If you have any aspiration of being successful, I want
- 0:56Speaker 1: you to realize, starting right now, the effort that is
- 1:00Speaker 1: going to require. And that's why I think it stops
- 1:04Speaker 1: a lot of people. I think a lot of people
- 1:06Speaker 1: are never told or don't understand the sheer effort that
- 1:12Speaker 1: it takes to become successful at anything in any area
- 1:16Speaker 1: of your life. If you think that doing your best
- 1:19Speaker 1: is enough, that I got news for you. It's not. Well, Steve.
- 1:26Speaker 1: What if you've done your best, though, and your best
- 1:29Speaker 1: ain't good enough? Well, let me ask you that same question.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Hold on, if you want to be successful and you've
- 1:36Speaker 1: done your best, and best isn't good enough. What you
- 1:39Speaker 1: threw that's it. But Steve, it was my best. No no, no,
- 1:43Speaker 1: no no. It was the best you had at that time,
- 1:47Speaker 1: in that particular day. But tomorrow adds something to it.
- 1:54Speaker 1: You've never done everything. There is no you can't go
- 1:57Speaker 1: no more, you can't add no more. I've seen marathon
- 2:01Speaker 1: runners end up crawling across the line. I've seen triathlone
- 2:06Speaker 1: people man just staggering in the street and didn't want
- 2:09Speaker 1: nobody to help them because they knew they would disqualify
- 2:12Speaker 1: them from the race. You got more? Have you ever
- 2:18Speaker 1: dipped into your reserve tank? That's what we're talking about now.
- 2:23Speaker 1: See all of us have a reserve tank, you know.
- 2:27Speaker 1: On my ranch, I like to ride four wheelers. I
- 2:29Speaker 1: have all terrain vehicles, and all of them have a
- 2:32Speaker 1: gas tank on it, and a gas tank in most
- 2:36Speaker 1: of mine. Let me see all of them. Yeah, all
- 2:37Speaker 1: of them have gas tank needles on them, and it
- 2:40Speaker 1: lets me know when I get down towards eight, there's
- 2:44Speaker 1: a little lane that's red that lets me know. Okay, Steve,
- 2:48Speaker 1: you're in the danger zone. Now you're riding into the
- 2:51Speaker 1: lowest part of your tank. But if I keep riding
- 2:54Speaker 1: and I forget to get some gas in there, guess
- 2:57Speaker 1: what when it runs out of gas. All of my
- 3:00Speaker 1: all terrain vehicles, all of them, Honda Polaris, all of them.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Those are the makers. There's a button on the gas
- 3:10Speaker 1: tank itself that I can click and it says reserve.
- 3:15Speaker 1: That means they know that for the hard core riders,
- 3:20Speaker 1: they're gonna ride somewhere, they're gonna get themselves in a
- 3:22Speaker 1: situation and they're gonna run out of everything, They're gonna
- 3:26Speaker 1: run out of road, they're gonna run out of gas.
- 3:29Speaker 1: They've prepared because they know for the hard core rider,
- 3:33Speaker 1: every hard core rider needs a reserve tank. And so
- 3:37Speaker 1: there's a button that you can click on the gas
- 3:39Speaker 1: tank that clicks it into a reserve and it'll give
- 3:43Speaker 1: you about fifty miles or twenty miles worth of gas
- 3:47Speaker 1: in that. Now, guess what in that reserve that may
- 3:51Speaker 1: be all you need to get you the where you're going,
- 3:54Speaker 1: or get you back to safety so you can refuel.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Don't tell me you've done your best. When your best,
- 4:01Speaker 1: don't cut it. What you're gonna do. See when best
- 4:05Speaker 1: is possible, then good enough ain't enough. See that's good enough,
- 4:11Speaker 1: But if the best is possible, why would you not
- 4:14Speaker 1: shoot for that? And you you are all capable of
- 4:17Speaker 1: making it. But you've got to change your mindset and
- 4:20Speaker 1: realize the effort that has to be put forth in
- 4:24Speaker 1: becoming successful. You've got to do it relentlessly, over and
- 4:29Speaker 1: over and over and over and every day. I try
- 4:32Speaker 1: to do something to progress my life for the better.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I try to do something every day. I wake up
- 4:39Speaker 1: every day with the plan. Some phone calls, some meetings,
- 4:42Speaker 1: some some some some interviews. Something. Man, that's going to
- 4:46Speaker 1: advance and move the brand forward. Because here's what's gonna happen.
- 4:50Speaker 1: You are let's say you reach your goal. Let's say
- 4:53Speaker 1: your goal is to make now one hundred thousand dollars. Well,
- 4:58Speaker 1: I got news for you. Listen to the When you
- 5:01Speaker 1: make the one hundred thousand dollars, you can't go nowhere
- 5:04Speaker 1: and go on vacation and put your hand behind your
- 5:07Speaker 1: head and say I made one hundred thousand dollars. Guess
- 5:09Speaker 1: what you got to do. You got to find a
- 5:12Speaker 1: way now to maintain that one hundred thousand to keep
- 5:15Speaker 1: it coming in. See, you can't just get there and
- 5:19Speaker 1: stop and rest and whoa. It is harder to maintain
- 5:23Speaker 1: your success than it is to get successful. See. Let's say,
- 5:28Speaker 1: let me show you this. Suppose it takes you five
- 5:32Speaker 1: to eight years to find a way to make fifty
- 5:37Speaker 1: thousand dollars. Let's say it takes you five to eight
- 5:40Speaker 1: years to find a way to make an extra fifty
- 5:42Speaker 1: thousand dollars, and you finally, through work and effort, you
- 5:46Speaker 1: get to the fifty thousand dollars math. It's only just
- 5:52Speaker 1: begun now because guess what. In order to keep the
- 5:55Speaker 1: fifty coming in, you got to duplicate what you do
- 6:00Speaker 1: to get there. And then, oh, here's what you're going
- 6:04Speaker 1: to have the audacity being a human being. You're gonna
- 6:07Speaker 1: want another fifty because you're a human being, because you
- 6:12Speaker 1: gotta have something else to shoot for. Now you're gonna
- 6:14Speaker 1: want another fifty. Well, now that guess what you gotta do. Now,
- 6:17Speaker 1: Now you gotta do what you did before. Fuck plus,
- 6:19Speaker 1: you gotta come up with something else. Then after that,
- 6:23Speaker 1: you're gonna have the audacity. Because you're human, You're gonna
- 6:26Speaker 1: want another fifty. Says how this works, and see that
- 6:32Speaker 1: that that's the importance of your relationship with God, because
- 6:36Speaker 1: you're gonna constantly need it. It ain't have a point
- 6:39Speaker 1: where you're gonna be through needing it. But they ain't
- 6:42Speaker 1: gonna become a point in your life where you're going through.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Won't be through, won't nothing unless you then just gave up.
- 6:47Speaker 1: And if you done gave up, who wants that? Come on, y'all,
- 6:51Speaker 1: This is going to take quite a bit of effort,
- 6:55Speaker 1: And if you think it'll come to you any other way,
- 6:57Speaker 1: you're sadly mistaken. Because of all the successful people I know,
- 7:02Speaker 1: I know that the effort they put out on a
- 7:04Speaker 1: daily basis is daunting, and I think that the average
- 7:07Speaker 1: person just doesn't understand the requirement of time and effort
- 7:11Speaker 1: that it takes to get that and willingness to put
- 7:14Speaker 1: it out. You got to cut a lot of monkey
- 7:16Speaker 1: business out your life, all that hanging out, all that
- 7:21Speaker 1: late and all that club and all that drinking, all that.
- 7:24Speaker 1: You got to cut a whole lot of monkey business
- 7:26Speaker 1: out to be successful. Man, if you're planning on being successful,
- 7:32Speaker 1: get up early, stay up late, work, try, think, meet, greet, smile, attract.
- 7:40Speaker 1: It takes a lot let's go, but you can do it.
- 7:42Speaker 1: God is pressed to passing out blessings all day long.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Why are you not in line for yours? I'm telling
- 7:48Speaker 1: you right now, I want everything God got for me
- 7:51Speaker 1: because what he's shown me so far. Who if he
- 7:54Speaker 1: got some mo man or man? How good is God? Huh?
- 7:58Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show
